"You're putting sports talk radio gun that doesn't exist to our salary cap. This is what the people want to do. They like this stuff. Aaron Donald affects the game so many different ways. He's the one who takes the ball away from you. He's the one who stops the runner on the way to the quarterback. He's the one that makes other people better because he gets the double teams. Cup is still dependent on getting the football to him. So if I had to if I could only pay one, that's the one. But who figures this stuff out more than anybody else? No, I know, that's figured it out. Right? What's funny is you mentioned Alan Robinson, he's new to the rams this year. He's actually making a million and a half dollars more than you see. That's the end Donald. Yeah, these things will get rectified. Again, Andrew Brant longtime executive and man who knows the cap very well is going to be joining us shortly here. I'm imagining June 1, that's always a date that you keep hearing about that can free up cap, can free up this free up that they'll figure this thing out. I mean, they didn't bring in Bobby Wagner just to say we don't have the money for you, Aaron. Yeah, probably not. I can't imagine that. And Donald is back. I mean, couldn't you imagine they definitely had had to have some sort of preliminary conversations. With him. I think so. You would think so and cup cup knows money's coming his way too. Don't forget, honestly, it's got some extra money. If there's, I mean, that's the issue as he can't dive into that. Right. Not baseball. True. I forgot about that. Yeah, it's not baseball. Is that there is still that cap. But when it all comes down to it, I think that Donald will be paid and he will be happy and the rams will pay everyone and they're going to all be happy and it's now just comes time about who can win football games. And they've got a hell of a roster. So if he's concerned about all I want to do is win to win another Super Bowl. Check that box. He's on a team that can do that for time to come with a coach who's not going anywhere. In terms of the money, that box remains unchecked. I think they'll take it before week one kick-off against the bills. For over three decades, nobody has had a wrestling career like arn Anderson. Conrad Thompson gets.

"To Adam Schefter, the Buccaneers have signed a key hicks. Ew. Jeez. A one year $10 million deal before him. And Sue's not coming back? That means Sue is not coming back. And that is a big maneuver bears fans know how good he can be when he is healthy. That is some huge news there. In Tampa Bay, so Dominic and Sue is going to have to find a new home, but up to 10 million bucks it is worth, or $4 million less than what apparently Aaron Donald slated to make this year. That's on the table for everyone to talk about because Aaron Donald was on the highly popular I am athlete podcast that is a honcho by our friend, my friend Brandon Marshall. And this is a sound bite from this podcast in which Aaron Donald said he would be at peace after 8 years in the league if he doesn't play anymore. But he's at peace with his career. As it currently stands fresh off the Super Bowl. However, that Super Bowl winning team causes him oddly enough, as you know, lack of a better phrase from our Friends at Wall Street, greed is good. And it might be really good for the rands because it's apparently that's what has him thinking about nothing but winning again. I'm happy. I'm fine. I don't need to play. The thing that I don't need to play football to be fine. I'm fine. I was blessed to play this game. To make the money I made, the accomplishments I made in 8 years is like, I'm complete. If I can win another one, that's great, but I'm at peace. So if the business doesn't make sense to you, you're willing to. I'm at peace. You're on that piece. I'm at peace. By the way, Brandon Marshall asks, outstanding questions. He got right into it with them. Talking about the business aspect of things. And asked them if it's about money and Aaron Donald said it's not about money, but then said that the business side of things needs to be right for him and his family. Which leads people to believe rightfully so. You'd like to be paid some more. But he wants to keep playing football. So my two cents on this is if it's about money, less need is going to figure it out. The last thing that's going to happen here is these lists like the rams didn't want to pay me what I deserve. I am quitting. On the outset of a title defense season, that looks terrific on its face. And if Donald has the pulse of his teammates and they of him, and I think he does, and I think teammates take their cues from him, and he takes his cues from them, too. As you know, Cooper cups in line for a lot more, and he's shown up. So I don't think this is a an issue, it is, you know, on the out set of June 1, I don't believe this is going to be a problem. I think the rams, if Donald wants to be paid, will pay him the only issue is he's 31. He's got three years left on the 6 year $135 million deal that paid him a ton of guaranteed money. He's already gotten his roster bonus of 5 million bucks. His salary for this year is just 9 million in change. 14 million on the cat for this year for the following two years. So this is good for the rams. For that, the total cash for this year ranks a 102nd in the league. These are not numbers for somebody who had a walk off sack in not just the Super Bowl, but also a regular season game against the Arizona Cardinals. Remember that one? That was when the Cardinals were two up on them. But the few to go and the rams took control of that. He also had that walk off rush of Garoppolo that led to the interception that wrapped up the NFC championship game. I mean, we don't need to go on how valuable he is and what he does and best player in the NFL as voted by his peers and rightfully so. So if there's somebody you can figure out what to pay him and how to pay them and make sure that they're on the back end, they don't have a guy who's already way over the hill, which I don't know if that's possible with this guy, but father time is undefeated. Except for Tom Brady. Except for Tom Brady. And Donald did defeat him. Did he not? So I think they'll figure that out. But he also said that the Super Bowl is going to want him to come back and that he wants to have a chance to win. Guess who's giving him a chance to win. With everybody coming back, and then some. Alan Robinson now there, Bobby Wagner's there. He's going to basically say, I don't want to play in front of Bondi Wagner. I think this will get handled, but for the moment something interesting to talk about on the outset of June. Andrew Brant will place this in front of him when he comes in studio next. If you can only pay one and you're the rams. Donald or Cooper Cup. Oh, come on, man. No, the other way around. No, come on, bro you can find receivers. Again, it's very special. It's incredible. I mean,.

"It's interesting because of the NBA now. They just run pick and roll until they figure out who they want on you. That's all it is. It's like a high pick and roll leg. Right. You watch basketball now. If you don't like high pick and rolls, you might as well turn it off and go watch something else because you'll see about a thousand of those every game. Now dream was not a guy you try to get on you. That was the guy you tried to get off of you, but I would imagine they'll match up, you know, by position. A lot of times you'll see in games where it gets, you know, depending on if a guy can score or not, they'll put a guard on him because they know you're not going to go to him, but I would think it'll be, you know, step on smart, play on Brown, Wiggins on Tatum. Draymond on Horford and loony on Williams, I would think that's the way they'll go. I mean, you could flip flop 5 and four if you wanted to. You could flip bob draymond, but the other one's got to be, I mean, but again, they're going to be on celebrities at a guard somebody a little bit. But what the words that are really good job of landscape, they kept trying to get switch curry onto Dante's. And what they did is they called a hedge and curry would hedge out and stay until Wiggins got back. So he allowed Wiggins enough time to get back and then he would fire back to his guy or go to the middle of the paint and then rotate out. But they weren't going to let him just go and stuff. So I don't know what to sell this to do. I would imagine it's already going step a little bit because he's not a bad defender at all. He just the weak link on this team. I mean, it's a really good defensive team. So yeah, I would think, but draymond, if you watch draymond, you take a few serious and just watch him. He always is his head on a swivel. He always sees what's going on and he's always able to come over and help. Like if somebody gets beat, he's there. He just knows what's going on. And I find myself sometimes just watching him. I won't even watch the ball. Others watch draymond and kind of watch him and see what he does on the defensive end. It really is kind of fun. I know people are like, you're kind of weird, but yeah, I am, but still it's pretty cool to do and you understand him a lot better as a player. If you do that. Tom enjoy the finals. Look for my call during it, love your insight, as always, appreciate the time. Anytime, rich. Look for it. You got it. Thanks for calling. That's Tom tolbert right here in the rich eisen show driving around grandpa, grandpa Tom. Right here on the rich eisen show. Fascinating conversation. I just love that sort of stuff. And anybody just are there people out there who think draymond green is not Hall of Famer right now. Are there people out there? I hope not. Yeah, for sure. Just because they don't like them. Just don't like them. They're like, how can this guy, you know? Two points. Yeah, two points, ten rebounds, 6 assists. Yeah, because if you're someone who just looks at the paper and reads the box score, then that's what you're feeling. That just shows right there. Right there. You just heard from tolbert right there. Steve Kerr, what's the secret sauce defensively? Draymond green. Draymond, you want to take Horford? Yeah, got him. Draymond, you want to take Tatum? Yeah. Got him. Jamie, what do you want? What do you want to do? Time lord, you want to take him? Yeah, I got him. Got him. Oh, somebody just broke down defensively, who's right there? And then he's ahead of the play. I love that. Yes, smart player. Oh yeah, the intelligence one that guy is just ridiculous. But you know my only problem with draymond green is, right? Where he went before he got to the gym. That's it. That's my only problem with her. Michigan state. And he plays on your favorite NBA team. My warriors. Not a lot of people thought they were, you know, championship quality. This is just great. We have some skin in this. Brock mitigation is going to be right now. It's maybe still a little fun and games, but when the series starts and it's on the line and the Celtics have a chance to win it, and I keep coming in calling my warriors. It's going to get ugly. I know it right now. He really can't say anything because he adopted the bulldogs. No, no. He's got a problem. He's got a problem with you having multiple teams when you have a problem with him having multiple teams. That's his point, even though you don't have a leg to stand on TJ, sorry. I don't care how dare you. Let's take a break. We'll come back. Aaron Donald wants to get paid except he says it's not about money..

"I think you will. I think so. I think that's what they're hoping for. And for my conversations with them, I think either it's a pretty decent percent chance that he will be back at some point. During the finals. Now, I don't know if there could be setbacks, I guess, or maybe just doesn't feel quite right, but yeah, I think I'll be back and that'll be a big cog in the wheel because he's really good defensively and he can really make those guys work. He can make Brown work and make him work a little bit. And he doesn't got to give you a ton of minutes, 15 minutes is good enough to get in there and just be a pass. And he really runs his butt off too. Fast break. They're always in fast break mode when he's in there. Because he can really go and he runs the court really hard. So I would think that he'll be back. I think they're planning on him being back. Things change, but yeah, I would hope so. It'd be good to see him back too for a guy that's had to go through this stuff. He has a 29 years of age to miss the playoffs or after the Memphis series for that second game. Second game, I believe, first game. Was a bummer. I felt bad for him. I was like, ah, dang. It was one chance. He's getting a chance to play, to be in the playoffs experience this. And then to go out, but he would have come back for the finals against his Celtics. That'd be pretty sweet. Tom Talbot few minutes left with him right here on the rich eisen show. Do you like the Jimmy Butler shot at the end of game 7? Down to 17 seconds to go. It's a three. It's in transition, Horford's backing up. Did you like it? Yeah, I did. I mean, he's not a great three point shooter. That's the only kind of drawback. He's not a great three point shooter. Although he has been shooting him better the last two, three games. He's making a few of them. So I didn't mind it. I know what people are thinking. He could attack corporate, go to the rim. Yeah, I mean, I get it. You could also go to the room and get your shot blocked. You could also take another dribble and double off your foot. I mean, a lot of things that could happen. He knew right then, he was going to get a clean look at a three pointer. And I think to be honest, they were just, they were fatigued. I think they were spent. And I don't know if it entered his mind, but maybe he just thought, let's go for it. Let's try to get this over with and see if we can take the lead here because we don't have enough gas for overtime because that was like a war of attrition, both those teams are limping to the finish line and I'm not sure if Miami had enough to get to the finish line if they had to add 5 more minutes to the race. So yeah, I didn't mind that shot. I mean, this is wide open shot transition, great look. Nah, I had no problem with that shot. So the minute that front rims and then the Celtics win and Steve Kerr and the staff start grinding tape on the Celtics, what do you think they're seeing that concerns them the most for this matchup, Tom? A lot of big athletic bodies that can really defend the Boston Celtics are unlike most teams in that. There is not one person you could find. In that starting lineup, that you could pick out and try to go at defensively. I mean, these guys are really, really good, smart, Brown, Tatum, corporate Williams. I mean, they can all defend. And they can all switch off if they have to. And they can all stay in front of players. They all have length. They can all get into you and be physical. So they're really, I mean, that's the best defensive team in the league. And the numbers prove it. And they were by far and away the best defensive team in the league after the first of the year. So it's going to be, it can be tough, but the warriors have a great defense too. Everybody two best defensive teams in the league. So points might be at a premium in this series. The words I think have a little more just a little more diversity offensively. And maybe a little more firepower offensively than the sales. But it's going to be, I think it's a coin flip. It really do. I think it's going to be a great series. It was kind of hoping for this one. Just because it's a Celtics, as the most championships in NBA history and I just, I grew up on selfish Lakers. Solve this in the finals is like kind of a cool cool thing and the fact that the warriors get to face them. Not sure if the coaches feel the same way. They were like, I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna score on these guys. They held them to 32 points at home earlier this year. 32, the warriors, Adam, and they just suffocated. And they couldn't do anything against them. And then the second half step got hurt at the end of the first half and they ended up losing, but I mean, they're good. I mean, I'm excited about this finals. I think it's going to be a lot of fun, tactically speaking, athletically speaking, Brown and Tatum are studs and smart is smart, it's basically draymond green. It was 6 four grand on green is what he is. He plays a different position, but he's super smart, super physical, knows what he's doing out there, defensively. So yeah, I'm excited. I can't wait. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. And I think you're going to be close games, tight games, maybe not super high scoring, but should be a fun series. Although draymond plays the point sometimes too, so. Horford's in the game who does what you put loony on him and we're going to see draymond on Tatum sometimes. I mean, what do you see? What.

"Best defenders ever in the NBA. He's so versatile. He's so, so smart. He's one of those guys. You see it in every sport. Guys that are ahead of the play. He is ahead of the place, never behind the play. In football, tomorrow on. He's the head of the chains. Always, he sees what's coming before it comes. He's not behind the play. He's not reactive. He's one of the best, if not the best health defender of ever seen in basketball. So he just he gets them to where they need to be. Offensively too, and sad and stuff like that, but defensively, he's like the Maestro out there. And he is, he's something special. You watch and play. He's one of those guys that you can't tell how great he is by the stats. You look at the stats, you look and go fast, whatever. 9 points, ten rebounds, 7 assists. Nah, okay. Members are okay. But you can't tell the impact that guy has on the basketball court by Scott. He's one of the few guys that you have to watch him play and you have to watch him play over and over and over again to really appreciate how great that guy is. Is it fair to say Tom tolbert that we saw kurz value when Mike Brown was filling in and the team struggled mightily against Memphis in a way that we didn't see. And it looked like the team Barkley was right and calling them out. It looked like they were playing a scrimmage. They were just doing stuff, throwing the throwing up shots out of rhythm, being out of rhythm, defensively. Is it fair to say that about that moment, Tom? Trust me, rich. I've seen him play with Steve. And they look like they're screwing around out there sometimes. I mean, I'm serious. They just sometimes they just do stuff. They're like, what are you doing? Or what was that pass? What was that? So I don't know. I mean, you know, the last time Steve was out, Mike Brown was 11 and now in the playoffs. So my Brown coach, I don't know, it's just them. I don't know what it is to be honest with you, but I would, like I said, I've seen it when Steve's there. So you'll be there coaching and they just, they just like they lose themselves somehow. It's like, what are we doing out here? What do you get? What are you guys doing? So I wouldn't blame that on coach Brown at all. I always, I'm not one that gives too much credit or too much blame to the coaches. It's a players league. And players know what to do. And players are grown-ups, and players know the right play to make, and players know how to come prepared. And a players don't come prepared and players do stupid stuff on the court and players aren't paying attention to what they should be paying attention to. Well, that's on the player to me. I mean, at this stage of your game, you don't need your coach to hold your hand for 48 minutes. You should know what the hell you're doing. You've been taught well enough. You should be able to go out there and play. And if you don't, that's on you. So I rarely give the coaches to, and like I said, spread it too much blame. Players know what the hell they're doing. Just go do it. Golden State Warriors, radio color analyst Tom tolbert here on the rich eisen show. What's Jordan Poole's future looking like do you think? Like, what is it? What does it look like with curry playing is incredibly well as he is and does and pool showing a superstar ability, I think we could say that. What do you think is future looks like right now? That's a good question, rich. I mean, he's worked so hard to get himself where he is right now. He's a legit third scoring option. And sometimes second scoring option, the way he can score. Defensively, he's got to get better. Sometimes he gets a little loose with the ball. But I think sky's the limit for this guy. I mean, I think those things are things that could be tightened up and worked on, but some of the things he has a quick explosiveness. The stroke is impressive. He just really getting out would have never guessed as a year ago. When he went down to the G league, came back up, I thought, yeah, maybe the warriors get a rotational piece out of this. He's much more than a rotational piece. I mean, he is a key cog in this team's wheel right now. So I'll credit to this guy because I'll be honest, he was kind of they kind of teetering on this guy going to be in the league or not. He could go either way. It probably stick, but what kind of rotate it will he get consistent time? And now look at him. He's in the finals and he's a big part of this team. It didn't get he didn't get there without work though. It's pretty impressive stuff. So he's got a long-term future there, do you think? I mean, I think so. I mean, I think well, they're going to have to figure some stuff out because I think Wiggins is up after next year. And I think they're really want to keep him, but then you got Jordan Paul, who's up and I think he can sign an extension this summer or wait until after the following year where he'd be as restricted free agent if I'm not mistaken, which I very well am. I don't, I don't know what they're going to do. I'll be honest, I mean, Joey, one thing about Joe lacob and Peter guber is if you can help him win and they'll pay for you. I've been there so far for the luxury tags. I mean, it's insane. And people, people were complaining this year about, hey, we got roster squad open. Maybe we should go get a center. It's like, well, what are you talking about? Like this guy, this guy will spend money. He will. I think he's like 70 million over the luxury tax or something ridiculous like that, but that's the one thing I love about him. I hate owners. I hate owners. The most sports fan. I want my owner to be a sports fan. All my owner to want to win a championship. I don't want my owner to be a penny pitcher. I don't want my owner to think, you know, I don't want to lose too much money this year. I mean, I would think if you own a team, you've already made your money elsewhere. You're going to make more money. There's no doubt about it. But it's okay to lose a little bit here and there. You're trying to win a championship. You're a fan of the team. Too many owners aren't fans of the sport, fans of the team. And they run it like a business. And it just drives me nuts. I feel like it runs a Lake of business, but first and foremost he's a fan and he wants to see this team win. And Peter guber, too. They want to see the team win. And I really appreciate that. So yeah, Jordan poll will be here long, long, long winded answer to question. I think Jordan pool will be here, but you know, they do have some decisions to make. But it was surprised me if he weren't a warrior for years ago. Plus, just sit around and get your center back next year. I mean, James wiseman is sitting there. I mean, the first overall pick from two years ago is just sitting there. But for the year and now, Tom, it does Gary Payton the second come back. That was the whole conversation is that it's possible he could if they make the finals, they've made the finals, county..

"Good Richard, so. I'm fine. Are you going over the Golden Gate Bridge right now? Where are you going? You want to treasure island? I am not, I am running some errands, dropping some stuff off, getting some drinks for the granddaughter. And granddaughter. Your grandfather, Tom? I'm a grandfather. She's two years old. Dude. That is the. That is the greatest. My mom and dad always used to tell me the best thing about being a grandparent is to give the child back at the end of the day. You take them. Right. Well, I wouldn't know that because actually, well, I didn't know for a while but to our granddaughter actually lives with us now with our son. So there she wakes up. She takes her naps, she gets up. She goes to bed and she's there and Laurie and I and my wife looked at each other one day and we said, now we know why people are raised on our kids. We know. They're exhausting. I didn't realize that when I was younger, I thought I was great. This is no big deal. I get a little older. It's like, yeah, wait, I'm beat. I didn't even do anything today, and I'm pleased. I bet so, well, terrific. Congratulations on that and everything going on in certainly in the world. We're so lucky when you're over you're on a beat or you're ever covering a team or you're associated with a team through a broadcast that they're so terrific and so, so great. Walk me through this warrior's season and when you know that the team felt it could be special, Tom. Well, I thought early on they would be one of a handful of teams that could be for a championship. I always felt like it was them Phoenix Boston, but this was really early on. Then I said, not Boston, then I got back to Boston, but anyway, Milwaukee, New Jersey, if they were healthy, then they're like 5 teams at a chance to win a championship. And now we thought they were one of them. Just because I've seen this team play for years and years now. And I know the composition the makeup of this team. So I always felt like they had a chance, there were times during the season with a defense wasn't great, the offense wasn't great. I thought, well, you know what they need to kind of kick in care a little bit, but I never thought this was going to be a favorite to win the championship bridge. I just thought they were going to be one of a few teams that have a chance to win a championship. And there they are. They're really good defensively, really good offensively. And they're probably where they felt like they belonged all along. So what inside can you give us Tom talbert on Klay Thompson? Because the general sense is he's clay and now that he's back, of course he's just going to keep splashing in threes and game 5 clay showed up and it looks like they're going to get the Klay Thompson we've all known come to know and love for the NBA Finals. But what insight do you have on his comeback, his rehab, everything that happened in the setback, another injury, and so on and so forth, Tom. Well, I tell you what, if you know him, you would be happier for a person to return to playing basketball at a high level. I mean, this guy loves basketball. I mean, he just loves it. And he's so funny. He has videos. I think it's Instagram or whatever. He's out on the bay on his Vogue. That is captain Ed out on just kind of tooling around the bay. And just seeing he'll take shots at himself tripping around the Bay Area. He loves the bay, loves his dog, loves hanging out, but he really loves basketball and loves competing. I can't imagine what it was like to get injured the first time. And then almost come back and get injured again with the Achilles. And then I sit out another year to mentally you really love doing, so I'm so happy for that guy to be able to come back and play. Isn't that quite the same player? Like he still has some really good knife and I'm sure he'll have at least one or two during the finals, but the shot isn't quite as consistent as it once was, defensively. He's not quite what he was, but you know, to get a little bit older and coming back from two catastrophic injuries, but yeah, like I said, if anybody knew him, they'd just be thrilled. This guy is able to get back and compete because you just can't help but love that guy. And so what about this team continues to click? Is it curries consistency? Is it draymond green's? Presence. Why does it occur as coaching? What is it, Tom? For this team. I think it's just a combination of everything. I think their defense like when they play really good basketball, I think they're deep ends is the backbone of the team. Like they're really good defensively. You don't really think of them as a defensive team because and play Jordan Poole now. You think of it as an offensive team, but they can be a really good offensive team, but when they're good, they're consistently good, defensively. And draymond green, it was funny I asked Steve Kerr last week. I said, you've been a good defensive team Napoli 7 years. That's been a common thread of the current era. Bald movement player movement defense. And I said, even a good defense team really good defense fee for 7 years was the threat. Ada said, draymond green. And that's really what it is. "Immediately into the top Tom Cruise top 5. Normally. Immediately at the time. What did Susie and I tell you, the day after we saw it in advance of ham being here? Oh, you were out. I was out. What did we tell you? Everyone I've talked to have seen it said it's awesome. Anybody who saw the original Top Gun. You could turn this down. Anybody who saw the original Top Gun knows what you want out of the sequel, certainly since you haven't seen Top Gun maybe in a theater since 1986, right? So what you want to see and they give it to you in the first 90 seconds, which is Kenny Loggins, the heat coming off of the tarmac Tom Cruise on a motorcycle. Where you go right into the danger zone. I think we're going to go tomorrow. I will say this though. Because Sue's took the two boys are two boys to see Top Gun: Maverick on. Again. Sunday. Oh, amazing. She saw the second time. And she says it's just as good. She took the two boys are 13 and 11 to see Top Gun: Maverick. So the day before, we showed them Top Gun. Original. All right. I watched it with them. I watched the original with them, and Suzy saw the sequel for second time. The Tom Cruise Kelly McGillis moments a little dicey, okay? Little dicing. He shows up. He shows up way, wait. I mean, he couldn't text ahead, obviously. And then immediately wants to take a shower at her house after you've pretty much waiting. It's very weird. It's a little dicey for the kids. But I just found it amazing that on Friday of Memorial Day weekend, they'd seen none of the Top Gun movies. And by Sunday Night, they'd seen both. For four hours of talking. It just did it. And they loved it. Oh, they did. They did. Oh, good. They loved it. There you go. You know? Immediately. They'd never heard of goose or iceman. On Friday. Literally never heard of him on Friday and by Sunday Night they're now, they're now pals. They're each other's wingman. We just do they are. What are your top 5 Tom Cruise movies? I would have to say risky business. Is one, the original Mission Impossible, the first is incredible. Dynamite. Rain man has to be on that list. This Top Gun: Maverick is on the list. I put Top Gun: Maverick on the list before Top Gun. Oh, wow. How about that? Do you go again though? I'm like, I felt like I was back in my high school prom days. You know, I got me actually nervous. And in the 5th spot, you go a few good men or does he call it men or on the shoot of men? How do you not put a few good men on there? Cocktail? I don't know. But the only reason why I put it on there is because I'm head over heels of anything to do with Elizabeth shoe. That's true. You can't put cocktail over a few good men. No, of course not. That would be my 5. I like it. That'd be my 5. All right, that's overreaction Tuesday. Well done, sir. All right, we'll take a break right here on the rich eisen show. We come back. "Hockey tomorrow. That might be some more. All right, a couple of baseball items I saw kind of perusing this morning. Buster only had this. The nationals are gonna trade Juan Soto. Like his name is being thrown about now. Would you pay 500 million for him 400 million for him? He's really good. I know $400 million. Four months ago about one. He's going on the mats? Oh my God. Imagine. Dude, that's what you have to give up, though, to get them. The ground would you trade the ground from Juan Soto? No, it's a crime is not 31 and he's the injured two years in a row. He ain't got worse. He's not worth it. I have no idea what your farm system looks like. I don't know what his free agency I don't know how long till that happens either. But whenever he gets straight, he's going to want a massive deal. And uncle Stevie Scott, I'm not surprised by that. I'm not surprised by that at all. I mean, but because the nationals don't seem to have much for them to whether you're an invest 405 $100 million in that guy. You got him for a long time to come and I guess you build around him, but he can be a free agent in two years, but he's arbitration eligible the next two, so you know he's gonna want a huge deal. What else? All right, I just do that there. Also, rich is for you. Did you know Aaron judge is on a pace for 61 home runs? Yes, buddy. Oh yeah. 61 home runs. I know. So are you saying he's going to get it? Or something? Was just like, he's on a pace for 61 home runs. Let me just tell you something about Aaron judge. What this guy is doing after saying no to the bag that the Yankees put down. That is 1000%. In my entire lifetime of being a Yankee fan and a native New Yorker, that is the recipe for meltdown for 99% and I use that figure well done. Purposefully. 99.9% of all the athletes who turn that down and say, watch me. Watch.

Andrew Brant longtime executive in the NFL, he'll be joining us in our number three. In person in studio, our number three is when we're going to dive deeply into the story of the weekend. Not game 7. And not anything else that's going on. 22nd time, the Celtics have made the final. 22nd time. They're 17 and four. Not that. We're not looking at that in our number three, a deep dive. We're not talking about darvin ham. The new head coach of the Lakers and the Lakers have yet to make that announcement. It was the woj bomb that happened on a Friday. So it's jock Peterson getting slot by Tommy Pham. A batting practice moment between the Giants and the reds and apparently it's over fantasy football and I mean that jock Peterson sent Tommy Pham and it's glorious. The whole thing is incredible. And we're going to handle it in a way that I don't think any other show is going to handle it. How's that for a tease? I'm teeth, okay? That's our number three of this program. You're not going to want to miss it. Now back to the leadoff spot. With Adam Copeland on KNB are six eighty the sports leader. This a good time to bring us up somebody on the text line. This has become a popular thing in society, and op culture. I don't know where you get a Tom Tolbert. Does it all the time with Steve Young? We saw the Jimmy Fallon identify with Steph. Curry listeners are telling me that they should give me a word every day. And then I should slip it into the face off with Murph and MAC, Dave your thoughts on the slipping in the word. It's got to be a good work. It's got to be something something, really. I don't know. Topical ninety nine to five is has. Yeah. It should be maybe topical ninety-five said go with the word percolate today. Now. Murph and MAC, paulie, MAC could be listening right now. Murph is not listening right now. Murph listens for about fifteen minutes early on then he gets here and he hits his room to do his prep work. So he would not. Hear the word if we unveiled the word in this say. So eight away Cambier if you've got a word you want me to slip in percolating right now is the the clubhouse fit the leader in the clubhouse leader in the clubhouse at clubhouse favorite favorite on the border Vegas favorite winning? All right. So can't be a word. We'll get to that. But first I want to get into some of this stuff from last night. The Lakers you take a loss at the hands of the clippers. They're working their way further and further out of playoff positioning out of the playoff picture. Also, the Denver Nuggets, by the way last night last night lost again, they've lost three in a row. So the warriors with a full two game lead over the Denver Nuggets. This coming about a week after we heard the the the thing we hear every year about this time is that warriors don't need the one seed. No, they don't need the one seed. But but it would be nice. I still think and I know, I know the ifs and buts were candies and nuts, and if you're an had balls, she'd be your uncle, but she doesn't. So she's not Chris Paul didn't play last year or Chris Paul didn't get hurt last year the end of that that rocket series. I think goes a lot different for the warriors. Dave, do you have it? If your aunt had balls, she'd be all she'd be it on Bush's. And so she's not. And then I got a request your from the ninety five asking for the D rod sound if you got a a D rod drop for us. No ninety five also checks in San used the word hijinks hijinks would be a good one. I kind of like hijinks more than I like percolate right now. Dave Dave gives the nod kind of rhymes with my name, and I've been accused of being that before too. So it really works. Well, what instead of Dave Dave hijinks? I. All right. Let's get into some of the sound from yesterday, though, Kyrie Irving who's sitting at USF at war memorial. Gym do what his up on the hill doing his his post practice press conference? I guess he left the game the other night, and he gave what somebody did the count on it. He gave a thirty eight word post-game presser was all pissed off. At the media. Didn't wanna talk is talked about the the. Just like the toxic environment. That is around the Celtics that none of his teammates have showed up ready to play. My problem is kyri Irving. Never seems like he's a super pleasant guy to be around seems like he's always on edge. Seems like he's upset wherever he goes. He's clearly the star player all the time. He can get busy eat whenever he wants. But then he miles off to the media seems like he's short with his teammates yet guys like, Marcus. I'm blanking Marcus Morris. San like, hey, the, you know, we're not playing well together. We're not we're not a cohesive team. And this is interesting because they ask Kevin Durant. A lot about this yesterday after practice, but kyri Irving, I says that the reason he's not happy is that it's all about the media. I get tired of everybody.

"And Lund. Tom Tolbert and John Lund on NPR, the sports leader. Good. That's good. Spicy. Yes. Talking about mccutcheon is just kind of gotten out of control. He's going to pay the caddy fifty thousand dollars which is worth catty requested after. He only paid him five. I won't use the creative language at the one color us. But yeah, you just know we won't keep keep going to the caddy a real catty chat is in San Ramon. Hi, chad. Welcome. Thanks for taking my call hobby doing good. Very good. So there's a there's a gentleman who called I think just before me. He's kinda asking. Hey, what counties do out there? Do they deserve that kind of let me just tell you. What goes on between the golfers? Two years is anybody's guess, especially when it comes down the stretch. You're basically a part time psychiatry. It's not there. Sometimes you see a bad shot. You've got to know the right things to say, you gotta have the right body language. You have to have the right kind of cost to get them back on track. And you know, coming down the stretch on Sunday, you're living every shot with them. You're analyzing everything. So I think they are in every dollar that they that they keep so to my is out there, man. Don't get hashtag Kuch. Don't do that. This is not this is not going to die as quickly as we don't get a hashtag Kuch. Oh, man. Wow. Like it. That's a strong hashtag hashtags. If I did I'd use the hashtag. Hashtag Hooge Munson kingpin. That's right. That's right became what did you just say? You know, you have bad luck or something incredible happens Munson, they're talking the Munson, but you just say. Mr. Pretty much. All right Tyler's in rocklin in wants to bash Tom. Yup. What's up Tyler? Ten percent the caddy. Why are you guys? What kind of work you guys? Putting in who not enough for what we're getting paid? You. Like. Thirteen percent of your cake. Broke. Dragging on me. Always been thirteen. Gary. Yes. What would you like? Well, if you with thirty five that'd be good enough. I'll take a I'll take a. Solely thirty three. Okay. I know you give me something to worry. You give me something to work towards? Okay. We. Okay. I'm gonna try if I just try to. Diet, buddy. You gotta pick it up. Dominic. We're back at this point again, I'm gonna be really bad. Okay. You sound really pissed. This right now, I don't know. Listen you too. Okay. What don't you like about the show so far besides everything? He larry. And that is going to take you almost almost had Tyler. Okay. Hey, we'll be here for you even though weekend man, he was trying to sell it. He couldn't love the show. How about jobs it? Thirteen percent tellers like ninety two percent of what we say is gold right now, he's digging. It is flat digging. He does like the really likes the the Larry part of the cheese. It does. Who thought cheese would be so funny? What do you want to go? Do. You wanna go cap caddy couture, spicy food. Henry food, and he goes, spicy food. Okay. Let's go to Henry, San Jose. Food. Henry what's up? I'm just curious. Hey, what's going on guy? First time caller here for shit. I just yesterday around the same thing, we're retirement about spicy food. And then Tom I think we're talking about food and you got hot, and it was way too way to me. Okay. So when I was listening to. Back just a memory from that ear. Normally I go to downtown Campbell. When they have a bye you always by Turkey. No homegrown feature. Ricky, and I got I got several flavors garlic, and I got one that was that said hot on. So I said, okay. You know, I like spicy food as well. I got it and all that work, and I decided to take a chunk, man. The high, and I gave it to my coworker. That's the snakes across here. Try this. And I gave them a pretty pretty good sized teeth. And I didn't think I thought it was gonna take a little bite off of it. But he put the whole thing in his mouth. All my guy started swaying. I actually got scared. Okay. You'll get some water friend. It was funny. Did you did you warn them at all that it was going to be a spicy spicy Meatball? Did you did you tell him? It was going to be high. No, that's the thing. I didn't I should have. But how do you think he was gonna put the whole thing in his mouth? I thought he was getting a little. After he swallowed it. Did it Rackham? Yes. It did. He was I say rectum nearly killed him. I'm trying to help everybody out here. I'm so sorry. Appreciate it. Thanks, man. I did try to do magic assist. Right. Therefore. Got it. She killed him. I had a spicy of Argentina. It can only do what you can only do discuss. It has a drop for all the Cajuns. Go ahead. All right. I can't even pronounce that name. So I'm not sure I'll let's go to village idiot. High village Odia. Hey, Don, the John thanks for taking my call. What's going on? So so like, basically, I have a couple of buddies. You know, we play golf together and we've just been killing coots on like architects like the last week. And I think the thing that upsets me the most about the story is, you know, these like the guy who called earlier the caddy he's a hundred percent, right? These guys are primarily there for two things. One to be like, you know, psychiatrists like, hey, you're alright you're doing good, you know, don't don't pay attention to this or that or the other the other thing is really reading on the greens couple of years ago. I actually had the fortune of walking inside the ropes on the practice at pebble. And I was talking to this catty who was nice enough to kind of escort said, he was basically saying the difference at this level, and I guess really any Gulf level is the guy's making putts each week. So you factor that with the fact that coochie is probably one of the best cutters on tour. And he's got a local guy with the greens that he knows exactly how the balls are gonna break where the low spots are and everything I mean, he one hundred percent had a huge hand in helping him win, especially given the fact that he's probably just hit the ball really well that week, and you know, was money on the greens. Like, he always is. And now add to that on on top of that the fact that he has local knowledge into caddies telling for sure, it's going to break this way, for sure it's not gonna break that way. So, you know, he easily could have just said, you know, what this guy totally helped me win. And he deserves to not be coached. I mean. Here we go. In the bay area. Tag. Good. I agree with you. One hundred percent like say, I could make the case that he deserved five percent, which would have been sixty five thousand. I think he settled for fifty and that's fine. If he was good with it. Then whatever I would have given him more. I think should have given him more. But I can make a case for five percent because he probably wasn't the psychiatrist that that his regular caddie is because you don't build up that trust over four days. Just you're not going to do that. But he did help agreed greens. And I'm sure he did you tell him. What you here's where you wanna be this spot. Don't miss here, although sort of things, and when it comes down to golf one or two strokes that said, I mean that could be a few hundred thousand dollars you're missing out on. So I just the whole it's principle. This is what we decided upon that was the part that upset me the most that to me he took advantage of a guy who doesn't make a lot gave him a lot more than he makes in thought that would be good enough. But you're only making two hundred dollars a day. I'll give you five grand. That's a massive. That's a mass. Payday for you. Yeah. Doesn't mean. It's the right thing in doesn't mean he should turn it down. If I'm making two hundred dollars a day, and you offer me five grand carrier clubs or the ability to earn four or five grand. Yeah. I'm gonna do it. I'll do it. Because I mean, that's that's what a thousand dollars a week. That's a month where the salary right there. Five weeks for the salary. Of course, I'll do it not gonna turn it down. But if you win or Kim in the top five or whatever may help I helped me out. It it. It means a lot more to me than it. Does you doesn't mean? I should turn down. I'm gonna turn it down. I'm not going to turn it down and try to help them my family, and and and Cuccia shift known that couture should have just said look certain things will take care of you in the top five win. I'll take care of you. Here's what I'm looking at. Hello to give him five grand for them. Even five grand. If you get if you don't make the cut now that's coming out of the year end because you're not making anything if you don't make the but forty five million the guy has ten sponsors you candidate yesterday is getting paid anyway. So it was just yeah. Yeah. Does do the right thing to do. It should have never come to this. But that's the part that upsets me most only makes two hundred eighty and even said it makes two hundred a week so five thousands of killing for him to get that the right way to look at it. It's he makes two hundred dollars a week. Let me really take care of this guy and help them out and really make a difference in his life. "tom tolbert" Discussed on KNBR The Sports Leader

Sponsored by the international sportsman expo and outdoor show, which is at the Celtics will in Sacramento discount, coupons and big O tires the sportsman expo now through Sunday at Cal expo in San Antonio. ESPN by the way, wanted to mention this in the Greg hardy business this weekend. Are you gonna watch their debut? You're not gonna watch you can watch Greg hardy this probably now know what maybe who's fighting in the main event dillashaw? Yes. My wife's dillashaw. The hardy, but I'm curious, you know, how good the card is when when Greg hardy co the co main event like Greg hardy co main event stop. You say every Kurds a good card be every card is a good card. No you every time. I has Brian good card. Yeah. That's good card concurred. I mean, I thought his last name was white Brian white or good car. Good card. That's thinking about the UFC as like. Their undercard is usually much better than a boxing undercard, usually boxing undercard just to advance someone's career and he just mob. Some dude up like, here's your young contender twenty three and whore hair. And he's frightened Brian Wilson who's thirty nine. And he's and he's is closer thirty thirty one and twenty two killed. Around. What are you doing up there? But these fights, and you know, they're usually pretty good. I give you that. Well, I watch it. I don't know. It's on tomorrow. What are we got? We had I yeah. Which I wanna watch that that'd be a phobia. It'd be more fun of trae young was. Retrea John, by the way, they said the Duke ratings this year, obviously, very credible. Just through the I read something that they were the best as a single team. I think the best insight guy goes back like pre two thousand. They're just like they're craze, everyone else sees they just wanna see these guys and especially in. Well, I mean, look Baratin in ready to really good. Yeah. But wanna see they want wanna to the free? That's it. You just hit. Right. You'd use the perfect warrior because that's what it is. Is that guys come and go all the time in college basketball, but this is like an offensive lineman playing hoop and like people he's just like he's a truck. And it's just crazy. People wonder how he's going to translate to the NBA because he doesn't really shoot it all that. Well, I say look. The way the NBA is now he's going to be fine. He can run he will shoot. Eventually. You'll figure out a way to get it done. Either. This shot is busted, not a great shot, but it's not a little better, but he's super athletic. Yeah. He's big is arms with long. It can rebound can handle I go. He's not gonna have to guard guys that can post up because no one can post up now like you expose him down the block because he's undersized. Everyone's undersized nowadays in the NBA the totally different game. I some people aren't quite as high send people are super high him. I think he's gonna be really good. I think I think the way the NBA plays right now fits in perfectly. Would you love him to shoot course, you'd love everybody to shoot? But I think just the fact that he's small and everyone's small he's guys that are his same size. He'll kick their ass kicked their ass do demand. Yeah. He is flat. He is unreal. Anyway. All right, Marcus Thompson is gonna join us coming up next. We'll get into tonight's game with the clippers. Why such a big deal DeMarcus cousins makes his worst abuse? We'll get into it with Marcus nationally here on these sports..
