"I mean, In fact, the debate around college football shows you how much America loves Football. College football's become politicized issue. It's a It's a big election topic. I think. At this point right now, the way you know this appeal to the big 10, given that all the battleground states there in the big 10, Did you know that? No president has one. The office with out taking Ohio since 1960. I believe it is and no Republican president has ever Won the presidency without taking Ohio and then you know the teams that Ohio State typically has on its schedule. Are all in those those battleground states as well. Obviously Ohio State Michigan gonna have different meaning this fall, then they typically dio and whether or not college should be played around. It was just like people were so passionate about it. Even more passionate about that than almost anything else, and there's been thes. Devastatingly serious issues that have been going on throughout society and the NFL set to kick off Thursday and the storylines for the NFL of and mostly On field related during the off season, right? I mean, they've done a good job, I guess if you want to call it an information bubble, where the pandemic related talk hasn't dominated, the NFL was more about Brady to the Buccaneers and Cam to the Patriots and the virtual draft and all that stuff. But, you know, considering there was no preseason considering the current times, considering that the NBA's in season baseballs and season it just doesn't feel Like NFL season is right here. But it sure enough is Captain Cam Newton that has a good ring to it right. Bill Belichick when he didn't name Cam Newton captain, the Patriots players named Cam Newton captain. He did name him starter and he was so effusive. In his praise for Cam Was Belichick the other day? I mean, He didn't say anything that was out of the ordinary was like Cam's a really hard worker, and he works on the things he's not good at. And you know, he's the first tear. The last leave all that typical stuff here. It's just not typical to hear it from Belichick. I was trying to think if I ever heard and talk about Tom Brady like that. I don't know. He would always be like Tom's a good quarterback. We're lucky to have those were his answers with break, Tom. Yeah. Get Tom solid. He's okay. And then with Cam. It's like camp. It's temps thes here all the time. You're the best guy I've ever met in my life. It's an honor to have coached him for five seconds..

E. that means more in there and so is it the early supplement I first arrived it was purposely bet it per bag but at same time this should we talk about about the technical part of us being at home all day it has a thirteen what is going today at either okay well keep drop I'm going to on hook one of the programs you're just seeing if we was over right there is about this but if it is getting better by I would so I could think something the middle of may we're gonna see a lot of people opening up that's what's going on today not only Georgia Georgia is getting attention but there are a total of six states today that everybody's giving governor kept a hard time in Georgia I you couldn't come up with their own rate by the was for instance governor Kay and re open and then the eighty what are needed now I think he's going for and now leads so I said yesterday I mean for governor camp I'm rooting for all states to see what happens I'm there's all kinds of meat all over Georgia today and there's Georgia and then there's Atlanta Georgia and there's a lot of places in the state of Georgia that are small towns rural mid sized towns the news Atlanta which is I think what eleventh largest city something like that the big city so they have the the kinds of problems all big cities are having more people are close together in the virus spread more but basically there's lots of places in Georgia Georgia that you can open up so they had the media there and I saw one reporter went to a barber shop so here's his barbershop and they've got I'd like to counted there were six chairs in this barber shop and the reporter was talking about the guy who owns a barber shop said why you'll believe it was because I I have to I'm I mean I know I'm I'm I'm running out of money here I gotta pay rent on the barber shop I've got bills to pay I got all the stuff I have to open up I can't just I gotta start making some income again but the question comes down to wheel this is why I I I'm rooting for Georgia I'm rooting for Oklahoma who else is open today there's a number of them that are openings somewhat and I'm going let's see what happens so the story of the barber shop was there were two barbers in there and there were two customers I don't know if it was staged I don't know what the deal with these kind of I don't.

"May get one cutting. You. There you go thirteen nothing. I don't know that, that the crab sounded I mean the television FOX, but their cameras on some US, people that were in France and cherry and had on red white and blue and all that. But now, this is getting to be where they're getting all kinds of criticism and women's soccer stars. Megan Rappeneau, and Alex Morgan and her coach Jill analysts brushed off the criticism. Stay, you know from their blowout victory over Thailand. Here is Alex Morgan defending the US teams celebrations. Let's listen. I mean, I think in the moment. Every time we sparkling in a World Cup. It's. You know, you, you dreamt of since I've dreamt of it since I was a little girl. You know winning the World Cup in and being back here for the third time we want we want that verse are so tonight we knew that every goal could matter, you know in this group stage game. And when it comes to celebrations, I think this, this was a really good team team performance tonight, and I think it was important for us to celebrate with each other. Well, but see this is where these are young women. Alex, how old are they are they early twenties? Are there any late teens somewhere in their college age? Right. Mostly. So. Oh, hell Morgan's twenty nine years of age. Wow. She's an old lady. So this comes, but, but that, that's fine. Because twenty nine puts her into that category of everybody gets a trophy because you don't want any, but you don't want anybody to have bad feelings. You don't want anybody to ever lose. What that's the worst thing in the whole wide world. The fact that somebody would lose. So it is. I thought it was great. And I wasn't I wasn't a put down Thailand and their players. Obviously they're very good. They got to the World Cup. Here is the US coach Jill Ellis when she was asked about it. She defended the teams continue to tack against the opponent in last night's game. I mean, I think you know, I would say to you is this is a world championship. So every team that's here's is been fantastic to get to this point. And I think that to be respectful to opponents is to play hard against opponents. And it's it is Alex said it's tournament where goal differential is a criteria. And I think, you know, I think if you much like Alex said, if you think about this for these players they've four years now, some of them have been working some of them even longer in terms of this is there, I woke up, you know, get games games are games and you got to go out and play and you got to compete and a lot of this is about building momentum. And so as a coach, it's, you know, I, I don't find it, my job to go and harness my players and rein them in because. This is what they've dreamt about this. Is this is it for them? This is a world championship. So I think, you know, for tonight. Yeah, I mean, part of it is I respect Thailand. I they celebrate their here. I spoke some of the players afterwards just keep their heads up because this is part of it is part of growth the game. So, yeah. I mean, I think it's, it's obviously for us. Now the players are excited. And I think I said after was on TV it's a lot of this. You know when you go into a World Cup, you can talk tactics tall this it's it is about mentality. It is also about confidence, and so getting off on the right foot is is important. But the reality is, yeah. We also believe we've got more to do no doubt. We're gonna stay humble, and this is and we go back to work, but, you know, in terms of the things in the takeaways that we wanna get, I think it was a very good start while she was way too nice. She was way too. Nice. She was trying to be diplomatic, but this is why sports are important. And I think unless a child just absolutely has no, no, no interest in athlete athletic in environments. I just think this is why they have PE in school and they have little infomercial teams. And it's called teamwork learning to work with other people having people that you work with some are stronger summer weaker competition. How to not only win, but more importantly, how to lose because life is going to hand you winning cards and losing cards. Sports teaches all of this for young people early on. And that's why this whole thing about it trophy for every kid is such a bad idea. But some. Generation of people out there that have gone. No, we can't let anybody feel like they've lost. Well, welcome to life. Everybody has losses. Everybody does so this coach was going, well, you know, it's it basically it's big league sports that World Cup. You don't get any bigger than that. And, and some of these women have been working on this for years. Practising. Practising practising. I've found out that the youngest on the team is twenty. The oldest is thirty six Carli Lloyd. The average is about thirty. So these are young adults by far. No question about it averaged thirty years of age and so good for them. They've been waiting this doesn't mean that they're going to win the whole thing. They are very highly rated. They have a lot of people coming back from four years ago. They have a bunch of new talent as well. So they are very strong team with lots of lots of potential to maybe when the whole in Chilanga. But instead people come out and go that was so wrong, they ran up the score. And here's the other part about it is that the number of goals that you score counts later when they start going down the through the through the playoff charts on who you're going to play. So it is an advantage to the team that scores more goals. So I don't know what you make of this. I'm glad to see the team is pushing back the coach is pushing back. This is this is good for them. I even saw one person that was criticised earlier today. Well, you wouldn't you wouldn't criticize them if they were the men's team the it's okay of men run up thirteen to nothing. No. First of all, the men never have this. This is this is a record never been done before. So. And the person that had been pushed back again, said, no, I would criticize the man, I've criticized the woman women because it's just not fair to Ronald Podemo, the score like that where you're so far ahead. So I- I congratulations on this first big win at the World Cup for the US women's soccer team. God bless these ladies and. They obviously had we're having a good time. Do they have a good time at, at Thailand's expense? Yeah, they did. But it wasn't an intended to be made. It was intended to be competitive. Let's see what we can do. All kinds of stories about scathing criticism for celebrating and for scoring so much eight five five two nine five sixty six hundred will be back enjoyed your discussion. You seem to be very, very appreciated. I just call them like I see your weight, Tom solid..

"Now Nissan L, bro. I. You're listening to Tom solid. If you are so great bore. It may not be much of a of a war. I mean, if pantley everybody's moving their business around. So we'll see how that goes. This is also. You know how I love talking about self driving cars that, all of that. It's still it's, it's come a long way. It has a much longer way to go. But the day it, there's this is about trucks, and I'm not talking about a little pickup truck. I'm talking about big old semi semis on the road truck, and the US postal service. Has started testing autonomous trucks as a way to deliver mail more cheaply and efficiently not talking about the little blue and white red white, and blue of mail trucks in your neighborhood talking about the trucks that are going down the interstate, you know, big semis. And so what they are doing it because apparently they have a in the trucking industry, you truckers know this, there is an urgent shortage of truck drivers. And so the postal service self driving trucks. Are likely be rolling down the interstate you will. She should see them soon because. Well, started actually yesterday. Company named on out of autonomous vehicle. Developer by the name of two simple t you simple. All one word. They are. Parents in partnership with the post office, it's a one thousand mile test began yesterday, and these trucks that are self driving are hauling mail between the postal mail distribution center in Phoenix and Dallas are going back. If you're driving between Phoenix, and Dallas, look at the trucks CBC a post office truck with nobody driving. So it's a two week deal. Oh, good. Why don't they do it, right? Over the Memorial Day weekend. Who's on the road? Why nobody? So the two week pilot will include five round trip. Vibe trips along interstate ten twenty and thirty through AirAsia New Mexico and Texas. Beverly they're starting there because the rules about autonomous driving. Vehicles apparently more lenient in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas, the trucks will run twenty two hours at a time. They all man. They have they have a safety engineer and a driver on board to monitor the vehicle performance and ensure public safety. So instead of having one driver, they now have to people. They're going to have a safe. I don't know what the safety engineer does. Maybe it's like the, the, the joke in the airline industry, the co-pilot should be a dog. What do you want a dog in the cockpit for to bite the pilot if he falls asleep? Maybe that's what it is. Maybe to dog to bite the safety driver who's on board to monitor the vehicle performance. But these two humans are not going to drive the truck. Two simple expects the I ten quarter will account for the largest portion of interregional, US trade. Yeah, we'll be the sweet spot for automated trucking. Postal service, lost almost four billion last year. Twelve consecutive yearly loss. They've been doing aggressive cost cutting their five year strategic plan includes stepping up the pace of innovation including the use of autonomous vehicle technology. So they're investigating proposals. And how self driving trucks might be used to improve the safety and efficiency of the postal delivery trucks, see I can see them putting around your neighborhood. We don't go very fast. They stay over by the curb, they don't move very quickly. But the problem is. How do you get the mail out of the truck, and into your mailbox? So there's two simple company is based in San Diego and China. And they have plenty of competition in this business. Waymo. And tesla. And at least a half dozen startups. Including dinosaur and Volvo are all pouring huge amounts of money into getting these are automatic autonomous vehicles going. One hundred seventy eight million has been raised to date. They're looking at a one billion dollar valuation for this too simple. And a handful of revenue generating contracts in Arizona. They have thirty trucks. Ready to deploy in the US and China they will have fifty in its fleet by the end of June. It's technology can be integrated with any manufacturers trucks, so far. It's working with Paccar Navistar and the engine maker. Cummins. Company claims technology edge from a proprietary vision system that can see a collaborator ahead farther than any other, driverless tech companies. So I'll tell you what the problem that I'm having because I drive. An automatic vehicle. And what I put it on autopilot. It does fine. I love it when it's I'm in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. I can go about my business. I don't have to worry about hitting the guy in front of me. The left of me to the right of me. It won't hit them that will come to a stop it'll move over. It'll do I mean it's great. But they, they keep updating the software and the other day they got this new new latest of software update. I'm driving down the road. And I don't know why. But all of a sudden it decided it wanted to turn to the right there wasn't any road to the right. It almost sent me off the road. And the other thing I'm noticing is. Well, you're driving down on interstate highway and somebody's coming on an on ramp. And they're going to be merging with you. So we humans somehow with some driving experience under your belt. You kinda get a sense of is that guy going a little bit faster than me. So let me give him enough room to where he can pull in front of me. Or is he going to little bit slower than me? So I'm gonna go Salem passed him and he can pull in behind me. It's a little dance. We do with, with cars that are coming on an on ramp close to us. And we all seem to be well, not everybody. Most of his are able to figure out that dance and we merge, just nicely everything happens. And we move along and you drive down the road. I'm noticing that, that the automatic drive automatic pilot. It sees that car. I know that there's a little symbol. Of cars on my on my dashboard. And I look over and join up. It sees it sees the car. That is merging onto the highway close to me. But it always breaks. And I don't like the Br because there's a guy behind me. I'm what am I breaking for you? Don't break. "From New York City to the world, Tom. World. Young kids today are not drinking. Doing drugs having sex as much as or smoking cigarettes as much as their parents don't know what the supper for more anxiety something's going on. What do you make it this next generation? These are the kids that are in these are teenagers, eight five five two nine five sixty six hundred Ron in Missouri. Hello, ron. How are you? Hey area. Man. Get these days are a bunch of babies. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? They that totally reminds me of a country song. If I how am I going to know where the line is about a hundred times. Well, that's true. How do you? How do you? Learn. That's where when you're young you, try things experiment. Whatever you wanna use. You you dry things to see what? What you what you like what you don't like. I think I did. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. We turned out. All right, right. Well, I don't know about you may have I'm. I'm still working on stuff. But that's just me whether or not I did I got. Yeah. I mean, I don't know what kind of generation this is going to be these are going to be this is going to stay with them. When their future thirty forty fifty years old. They're going to be still stressed out about stuff. I don't know. Why exactly exactly? Well. It's what people say they wanted. They don't want their kids to go out and get drunk smoke have sex take drugs, and they're not so careful get spanked. Yeah. They go ballistic. Well, that's true too. That is true. I think we all know. You know, what you don't have to beat your kids. But spank, spike, you know. Well, I just know about kids at the there was a girl that I knew in high school who was so. Her parents were kept the thumb on her all the time and the minute she turned eighteen she bolted, she ran and she also became a wild. Probably the wildest girl. I probably have ever known in my life just wild because she had a thumb honor growing up, exactly. You know, maybe we're being too wild animal for so long. Right. Maybe maybe we're putting a thumb too hard on our kids. You're getting what you wish for you want them to not drink and smoke and do all that stuff. But and then they don't and you go, wait a minute. They're not normal. You're the college professor saying, I say are are they okay? She said, no. I don't know what to say. Yeah. I think you've got a good point there. Ron thank you. What was the name of that country song? I can't think of the name of it. But the line is. What did I say oh out of our? I know where the line is. If I don't cross it a few hundred times you hundred times. About country music where they they lay out life pretty well. So. We'll we'll see we can find it somewhere. All right. Hey, ron. Thank you. Appreciate the call Benjamin Carson city, Nevada. Hello benjamin. Hi. How's it going going? Great. What do you think about? So I would call it about the subject you're talking about. I'm I'm twenty eight. I I have some children my own I've been raising and I had my first given is twenty one. So I just I feel like I have a different perspective on this. And you've been you've been looking at it and other callers like I feel like the older generations. You know, they pushed really hard, you know, for the kids to go straight into college and enter to kind of the same routine now, but it was a more structured like more strict really like proper lifestyle, you know, like in the industry fifties and sixties, right? And then people rebelled, and then and then things kind of likes like us more strict, and then and then people started running again, actually happening. Now, the parents are having, you know, their teenage years smoking and having sex and end up being rebellious and partying and the kids are growing up with parents that are still smoking pot and stuff and they're going. I don't wanna be like that. I want to. I don't want to drink. Might teenagers are at Ben. Look at it. Oh, that's not cool. I don't wanna do that. I just want to, you know, not do anything. I think you hit the nail on the head. And I'll tell you why I have I have observed over years varies from from family to family, but the kids who were the most restricted most supervised most discipline when they grew up and had kids they were much more apt to let their kids run wild because they were so heavily supervised that they're letting their kids have some freedom. So then when that generation those kids grow up and they're going. Oh my gosh. I had I had no guidance. I was Iran wild. Then they have kids and then they start saying, oh, no, no, we're gonna have rules here. And we're going I think the pendulum swings from generation to generation. What you're saying? Thank you for clarifying that up for me. No, you you laid it out. I just I it's an observation. I've had for years. And since I've got a few more years on you. I think you'll find it to your watch watch over generations. How it flips from one to the other, and it's not it's not a generational thing is family to family. Just depends upon how you were raised how you were raised will probably not be the way you raise your kids. What you're saying? Right. Because you know, we don't want to be, you know, the laws that were, you know, sometimes parents. So how were you were you? Were you raised on like, I mean, like I had I had a dad who was not in my life. You know, interestingly he was he was in and out very early age, and then pretty much on existent throughout you know, my younger years and my team. He was not there at all. So it was just mom. So now, I have my children. And and I would never, you know, not want to be there for them. Because your dad wasn't. What your dad wasn't? So never I could never do that to my kids. Now, you know. Interesting. Break the cycles with with us. It starts. It's exactly the same. It's exactly the same though, isn't it because you're not going to let happen to your children. What happened to you? The negatives. Yeah. Interesting. Benjamin. I like you call very much, you you you nailed it. Very good call. I appreciate it. As a young twenty eight year old guy. You find that song? Yeah. Okay. The so I gotta be out by forty that will give me much time. Oh, I see. I wanna play more than just the hook. Sharon in California. Hi, sharon. How are you? Great. This is your public health nurse. Oh, good. Good. So tell me about public health. The thing that I see both in the hospital in the community is that children are observing their parents and grandparents and their bad behaviors and the health consequences and financial consequences that they've endured and they were in the lesson. I'm like, well, I ain't going do that. But at the same time, the I think I think we're bringing it on the doom and gloom of of. Nuclear fallout, Dan, polluted cetera. In years, and that's making. I would be the kids are scared. They're scared. I think it takes a dumps with some common sense to put it in perspective. Well, but the problem is is that you don't have to pass a common sense test to have kids. So that that in there in lies the problem? I got we're gonna get to our break. But Sharon, thank you very much. We found that the song about crossing the line. Frankie Ballard young. Right. Stories. Stop yelling at the radio and get on the phone your way, Tom solid.
