"Out shoes so yes something happened to them and they got a lot of media attention at the time I remember Tom Snyder who was one of our late night television talk show host in this country Nigel interviewed Betty hill and it's got a lot of publicity and if that happened what about twenty years before the Kenneth Arnold nineteen forty seven sightings in Roswell New Mexico that crashing yeah that is about fourteen years after that yeah when they actually happen so yeah about it took about three or four years for it's about city services I think country nights out the civilian organization that's loads of weapons that's the case the case but even that wasn't published until since July nineteen sixty five as well and so I think localization fight night cobbler bit Davis about phone should put the sides in the case I think Liz Jones I don't for the solution interruptions that's what put it on the map yeah that's it and it was a worldwide thing as well I think he has a big influence on Britain as well and kind of set the will and the phone runs a lean ability shin and I think that's what why it is so important the so many strands to it in terms of you know to the really out from the same time because if that Lawson and that was it a dream or a fantasy all well some people don't trust him like if I go back to a dumb skate some people theorize in a another contact teams have been manipulated by the CIA and all roads in the area say to.

"Him right. I hit him his could knocked him right out of the chair of the floor and the the music stock plane and everybody was just like. Oh just like this hushed silence and I've watched it back and Dave is just like look at us he just like serious like Oh my God what does happen you know and so so anyway? The security guard comes over grabs me and takes me back to The Green Room and then I can hear this commotion going on out there like you know Andy starts gets up and starts just ranting and raving and screaming and all of the sort of stuff so about literally usually they just take a break for two minutes and literally about fifteen minutes went by while all this commotion was going on in Store and then finally it's of quiet down. I'm just sitting by myself in the green room and suddenly the door kind of opens up a little bit in this intern sticks hidden and he said Mr Lawler I think he was thinking. I'm going to stick my head in here with a killer. I I I never strike another guest on talk show every and so he says Mr Longer. Dave was wondering if you'd like to come back out him sort of wrap things up. I said sure I'll do whatever so. Go back out into the studio. And Andy's way over by the door he's and I sit down by Dave again and it is all too crowded turned into sort of like a wrestling crat. All of a sudden they six hundred fifty people start booing me right so so then I sit down. And they're going. They're going like ten nine and looks over. Andy Are you going to come back in here or not and he says no if I do I'll say words you can't say on television and he says Okay and three two one. We're on a day says well. I'm here in Jerry lawler's here and Andy. Kaufman's here some nights. I wish Tom Snyder were still here over for Tom. Snyder in the show so anyway He said would you like to thank you for being here and right about that time. Andy comes in offset standing behind Dave and he starts pounding on days desk and screaming. Every kind of obscenity. You can think of. That's you know he's just cussing. F F this mother this and then and one thing you had no about Andy and I think this is what really sold Dave on. The deal was Andy. Didn't ever curse or swear or get upset or anything like that and for him to be doing this so out of character. But I'm thinking. Oh my Gosh Sandy. What's wrong with you? You know they. They're obviously gonNA show the slap or they wouldn't have back out here and now here you are. You're you're totally ruined in it now. I was just thinking you know. He's this is never gonNA get here so with my body language. I try to sit back in the chair. And just like cross my leg like like show my discuss with Andy. You're you're killing right. And so he grabs. Dave's coffee get mixed. I contact with me to let me know what about the what two and he throws the coffee so that I can get out of the way on it and I jump up again. And then he runs off to set again. The security guy comes back in and and Dave was just so frazzled. It was just unbelievable so the security guy takes me off the set again and takes me straight to the elevator and he and I get on the elevator. And I'm thinking what you're GonNa do me up or whatever and soon as the door closed on the elevator. The Security Guard says man. I just wanted to get you out of the bill. And he's because that Kaufman is an idiot. He said his elevator. Don't go all the way to the top floor and he's probably GonNa try to. Have you arrested so let me get you out of here? Takes me downstairs? I getting the cabinet. Go back to my hotel. I didn't hear anything from anybody and this was like about maybe seven o'clock or something and The show of course came on eleven thirty and I didn't hear a word from anybody and I'm thinking what are they going to do? Are they gonNA show this or what so anyway? I turn on the TV at eleven thirty and there was the whole thing they showed it all except of course when Andy started cursing and swearing. They put in the leaked it out. But they didn't put in beets they put what made it even funnier. They put in these. Little Gruber's.

"My my number seven. Your number six six is this is a little bit different okay. It's a little teeny preacher isn't no it's smallville oh smallville good old Tom Welling Tom. Tom Willing so smallville I feel like was a groundbreaking show at the time. There's no doubt about that and still is because it opened wind up a huge path for comic book shows which one of the seasons would you say is your so. Here's the thing I don't. I couldn't pinpoint point one. Eight episodes seasons it was on for a long long time. The the reason I like it so much though is because I watched it a lot lot through high school my entire high school career. Basically I watch this show it. Is You know high school. It's like a high school soap opera. But you never see Superman. No it's not a superman show even though it's based around Superman and what he does it. You don't seem in a suit you don't see him flying around. I've never been a huge superman guy. I said that about Krypton like I. I'm not a big superman guy. Because I don't necessarily like that character to the point of him being able to do whatever he wants whenever where he wants. And but then yet be saved by Lois Lane constantly. That's always been my gripe. I don't like the fact that he's always saved by Lois Lane in this show. It's not that way it's portrayed differently saving but it's just showing on Roy. Aw No it's just showing him growing up as a young man. I love Michael Rosenbaum yes Michael Rosenbaum lex luther. LEX Luther Right. Yeah he's really good Khloe and What's his name? Something Snyder Tom Snyder he's the dad he he was a dukes of hazzard like the girl played chloe. And then I liked Lana Lang Lana Lang's very good. We went no. I like the Snyder Guy. Because he's got my name basically my cousin. Anyway Smallville set it definitely Brecca broke the mold. It was like the first thing that came after buffy. That was a comic books thing. And that was that big. That was as big as buffy and and pave the way for like a agents of shield and Sh- other shows so. Would you consider buffy account book. It is after the fact. They made a comic book after. That was a show that no because that would be.

"That Michigan Wisconsin and Pennsylvania the whistle blower needs to come before Congress do you think I'm completely different from everybody else in the race democratic presidential hopeful Tom Snyder tells me he's not deterred by the crowded field of candidates that still remain to think that hurts that there are so many still to choose from I think that having a variety of ideas proposed let Americans think about the issues it's not yet clear what the motive was for this horrific crime Mexican officials believe drug traffickers attacked the family they were aware that there were women and children innocent people and that they were ultimately murdered in cold blood as long as horse racing is still here forces are going to be killed there's no way to make it safer walking to the three to so all my god what's so just dribbles the ball it didn't pass it all my gosh what a little joining us and WTMJ working out more non impression stuff it's funny because people almost don't consider that stuff and some new for me they'll be like we only did two new impressions yeah but I talked for forty five different minutes the sign for them to come up with a new.

"LA. What is up game. One is coming up for you tonight. Gametime right around five o'clock. Greg Bergman tells me Bob euchre will throw out the opening pitch a legend. His is he still doing the games. Milwaukee games. I don't know. I don't know if he does, but I think it was nor McDonald, once I heard tell a story about how Bob euchre's ability to switch back and forth between calling a game straight and off air telling dirty jokes is unparalleled. It's just amazing the way he can shift back and forth between safer work, not say for work. When I the best I ever worked with on that was was Tom Snyder. Yeah, who could literally drop enough bomb the moment before the red light came. It was uncanny and put out a cigarette. You do that much live television. You eventually figure it out. All right. So dodgers tonight, this is a very close series. I have said, I think it's the dodgers and seven brewers have been the hot team. They've been very hot Levin game winning streak, including must win games game one sixty two and then game one sixty three against the cubs. They only allow two runs on fourteen hits in that whole last series, two shutouts in that series tonight, Clayton Kershaw versus GIO Gonzalez Gonzalez has been three and two thirteen area is a brewer. And if you are curious about how the dodgers lineup matches up against yoga solace, it goes like this, Chris Taylor leading off. He's one for six with the double.

Yeah, you don't like space travel, right about that. Please quite. Tell me about how you got two cats once fun and the others not they would be talking about Ohlinger would be like, so you were in a car accident. Right? It was crazy. Those degrees always thought it'd be funny if you just like switched gears to very serious, like Tom Snyder's. Oh, anyway. So you know, that's very sad about your hamster. But tell me about when your mother Pat moved right into it. Why? Why are you in Dan shutting me out because you both have kind of denim because your shirt was like a rich person's bedspread. Oh, this This I. I. This shirt right here that nobody can hear. It's pretty God damn loud. That's you just hit two home runs. That's right. "Yeah, I, I definitely would love have have more of that kind of mation more insights from firmly musicians who weren't in band there. There were will missions in that documentary that things I definitely wanted to see that were there at all specifically the American bandstand performance just thinking that too, which is one of, you know, I know you know, years later, dick Clark said, you know, this is one of the best performances we ever had on bandstand, but at the time I imagined he wasn't too happy with it. If anyone out there, listen, this haven't seen it's. It's what hop tones in careening is that they do. I think so, yeah. Line did not wanna play the whole lip sync on American bands. They gained. So he went to the audience and just, you know, it became typically chaotic, Johnny, fun time. And it's just very, you know, that didn't happen on shows like that. So deceive that was, you know, who is would have been an would've heighten the documentary bid. They do get into the mist. Tom Snyder tomorrow show interview, which there's actually great DVD. It's probably long out of print, but it was punk on tomorrow show where it had lifted the line interviewing full on a bunch of other stuff like Williams, disturbing TV's and stuff. Amazing, amazing punks up. But you know, they do really too much context about what if shit show that interview was, you know, basically, you know, basically was like the thing America had to the firestorm controversy that the Sex Pistols have the in the UK. You know, it was a really, really a big deal and they only touched upon that a little bit, but they didn't will go into, you know why this was shocking to so many people watching it now it's, it's, it's just almost it's charming in its quaint nece in the whole interview him just being like curmudgeonly, Johnny, you know, and Tom Snyder being like old men, you know, so punk rocker against the establishment. But you know, you don't really get the feel. Her why. That was such a exciting TV moment. I think at times the documentary misses opportunities like that to really flesh out a lot more interesting things. And that goes back to like a lot of the the great MTV stuff they had like they for while Leyden was on MTV, have a new show called news at night, and then we bring line in just to like basically Beavis and Butthead music videos before Butthead, even exist the machine Lipson. He just insult them and it was really an and just just so much fun. I'm not being rude to Roseanne. I mean, isn't that damn hilarious. Just met the room, just woman on of, I didn't want you. Derogatory about her within raise them. You will not said Somme if have some into Rhodesia sites because you deserve it if she's polite deserve that too. Off turning. And can you guys step outside of executive principals show I, I'm Jerry Jones. You guys ask guy. To me in that dog come. You know, you come here. Well, his once less film Ray hustles, pulling acid huge with us. We have a written agreement, hey, you fax this to us, we're doing exactly what you agreed to us to do. On this show. Look, I'm now being removed from Roseanne Bosch, touch upon his TV work in this, but the only touch upon the one documentary where he went in search of grill is where he again, the the rotten TV which used to be online on YouTube. It was it was a great stuff like him getting into fights with Roseanne and you know, just him destroying sex that nestles merchandise blowing up with a tank saying, we need to let go of the past and just all of this really, really fun. Biting the hand that feeds type shit. And I mean, like I would loved to see more of that into, you know, as a fan of his larger than life personality. I like to seeing a little bit more of that in there. And instead what we got was a was a movie, where at times I'm not sure it's a documentary about him or about the band history because it kind of goes back and forth..

"The documentary and i had a good feeling about it the whole time the hardest part for me as a hoarder is what to leave out you know what material to us to express certain periods of his life because you know if you watch all stuffy did it's also funny you know there's so many larry sanders scenes that could be the scene you show to explain what the show is like there's so many interviews gary talks about his life that are so funny but you can't show that much of them so i might find the mazing half hour with tom snyder and i would be so sad that there was no reason to put it in the documentary but i want everyone to watch it because it's something so luckily i said hbo in the middle of the process i don't think this is a one part documentary i think this is something that goes along side the eagles documentary in the bob dylan george harrison documentaries as you know two part four hour documentaries and richard platt ler said just make what it should be and is very rare you have a supporter like that casey boys was to hbo they just said we just wanted to be great and let's talk about it when you're done just show us and i showed him and they were thrilled because gary was important to hbo because the larry sanders show although not a giant hit it made them realize hbo should basically be like the larry sanders show in in a sense of digging deep going for quality going for innovation and they point to that as the show that helps them define what the network should be will one of the things that really comes across in the doc is that you show how many people he helped to young people who in a way mentor including obviously you so what i'm wondering is when i see you with camille or amy schumer or lena dunham or all the people who you've done that with our you consciously trying to kind of emulate what he did and pay for it in a way or or is that you think you just just coincidental i think that on some.
