"Tom Skilling? This explains a lot of things. Jason Guys are unpacking a lot for me right now. This explains a lot of things, but it was very interesting Last night. We can talk about it later. But I, uh Learned about a man named Dr Destruction, but I didn't know about. Well, um, I sat about 15 ft. Away from a little Wayne who? I I I couldn't figure out who he was cheering for. I think it was the Suns, but he wasn't surface what he was wearing. He was wearing orange. So I'm assuming the sun's Yeah, but like the Clippers kept He must have been because a bunch of guys in the Clippers kept like cussing him out. Um, which is that was interesting that, uh, he did. He performed his head. Drop it like it's hot. And and they kept playing little Wayne songs and he didn't react. I think they were hoping that he would, like, be impressed to hear his own music, but I don't think he doesn't care anymore at all. So, um, this doctor destruction guy is interesting. Yeah, the YouTube or the Stream Gamer guy? Yeah, Apparently he's friends with Devin Booker, who plays for the Sun, But he sat courtside and he wore like he had a wig on He wears out his gaming get his gaming headset on he wore like he wore those like Oakley Visor sunglasses. "Makes him incredibly can cry. It's a happy day. No, it is. It is very sweet. Now, have you had you ever felt that before, And then? It was like a misfire? No, I mean, I've been in like everybody I've dated has been a long relationship. You know, I'm saying, like, three years plus so I mean, it's it's you know, you know that. You know that feeling you get that feeling. And you know that this person you want to, you know, whatever. No, I think about this. He doesn't work out every time at the end, you know, but I very rarely have felt it. But I think maybe once I actually think it was possible, and then the person talked me out of it. Like like I think that the connection was there like I think that the elements were there like I don't. I don't doubt The feeling right? But I think That I well, well, I may have felt that way and could have maintained that I as I learned more than I began to realize that maybe I didn't know everything. You know what I'm saying? Actors for? Sure get can get in the way. I mean, I don't think that takes away from knowing someone that you either feel like you knew in a past life or you connect with on some level that you can't explain. I don't think you know other factors takeaway from that feeling. You could really feel that for someone and then life could get in the way. I think that I have a tendency to maybe want it to be that, like I couldn't have said it three times in three different people three times. And I don't know that it wasn't there. At one point, I just think Wow. Tom Skilling is skinny. I'm just looking at a picture of Tom Skilling. That's wow. You think like no, I just I just looked at me. This actually happens like he says. He says, I love you. And then it just gets this.

"What do you what do you live this is the most important man of the day Tom skilling WGN TV weather did you know this is gonna happen Tom yeah out you know weeks on this late yesterday wrote so we had on our evening shows last night is a little disturbance that that developed out by what came across the area and it ended up producing the POP three inches of snow in some areas down around Lockport here in Chicago we had one point three here one point six the way this is the heaviest April fifteenth you're in about eighty years wow and the what's interesting is a year ago yesterday we had the five point eight inches of snow which was the heaviest late season snow or tied for it that we've had in the area so you know it's not without precedent you get snow we've we've had sticking snow as late as early may but it tends to go way past want to come down but as happened this morning in all the great abit gun area roads I well I would imagine that I doubt wasn't necessarily out salting the last night I mean okay who knows what their capabilities are at this moment but that seems to be this is a perfect storm in a lot of ways because you get just a couple of inches and you get some ice because you're right around the freezing mark and if the roads haven't been treated and look out thanks and you know I bother you even though this well to do I wrote that these little ones which sometimes worse than the big ones I think of books under estimate you know how slick the roads are and you can get real trouble with these things this is the first snow we've had in the over three weeks of it sticks we had about three point two inches about three weeks ago back in March so you know we're not real experience with us and that you know that wrote papers started kinda warm but that this was fairly dry in the lower atmosphere speech precipitating intellect and yet take the temperatures down below freezing pretty expeditiously so this stuff starts this deck here yeah the happy news but there's another one coming up Thursday night Friday morning it you know this is this is just what we need right in the middle of cold that night he gave them the barge bubble apertures in mid April but you're not there this thing is out in the Montana Wyoming area now shifting southward devils drop down toward the panhandle and then run eastward across the Midwest and probably set up a band of snow pretty much like this thing that happened last night starting here later Thursday night running into Friday morning and then exiting but the yeah it'll be clustering of Montalcino projector these are very early yet not carved in stone but they run and then to the six inch range so here we go again what where I can't hold on hold on hold on hold on November fifteenth even though we don't have to pay our taxes but if you do you quarterly estimates Illinois you still have to pay your taxes.

"In WGN traffic central the forecast from the WGN Chicago weather center. There's an ice storm warning. That begins at six o'clock tonight. Runs through six AM tomorrow becoming mostly cloudy today, thirty one for a high. We're about there now, freezing rain, sleet, and rain tonight. A low Twenty-eight temperatures rising toward morning tomorrow. Cloudy, light rain at times, a high of thirty seven they're saying some areas could get up to a quarter of an inch of ice that is at the extreme level. But there could be enough is to down some power lines do damage to trees as well and make driving very hazardous should be aware of that tonight. Thirty one right now at O'hare, midway thirty four thirty-three to roar and the lakefront thirty one degrees. I'm Steve Bertrand in the WGN radio newsroom. These are the stories that matter on seven twenty WGN. I've just given you these verbal emoticons. Thank you for that. Encouragement book hamlets didn't make it through. But you were there for me. It wasn't guessing the temperature. I was just giving you the emotion I start to clinch a little. Ooh. Got up to what was the highest yesterday the day before fifty fifty one? Yeah. And three days earlier, it was fifty one below zero. And now we're in that worst place of all maybe thirty one degrees and precipitation. You get a little. It's tough. And I know comment is taking steps to be ready. But it's one of those things where you know, the outages that come if they come. We'll be small ones sporadic ones, which means a lot of different little places to clean up from tell you. I wonder if what this means is the high pressure from the north is just a little bit elevated by forty two to forty three isobars. We've got a report from Gurdeep that might be. Then maybe it won't be that bad. The temperature will be warm enough. It'll be rain. That'd be nice of you making that up or are you seeing that lets Tom skilling responded. Tom you're on the air. Oh, very good. I've got a dog here. Here's going to start barking. Didn't expect to be called. How are you? John. Tom skilling WGN meteorologist how how worried should we be about this ice storm? Mr skilling. Well, you know, we certainly seem worse. But it's the last time we did a nice storm of substance around here was about ten years ago. And you know, this could put down a quarter inch to a third of an inch of ice. That's no laughing matter. You know, you're you're want to nine and treat it outdoors surfaces, and you know, you've got kind of a skating. So we had a little a preview event last week for a brief period. It was like coating this is a little more than that. It'll start around seven o'clock this evening give or take an hour. Get it on. About ten to twelve hours of precipitation. What's going on here? Got warm air running up over the cold air, you go up to around thirty two hundred seat will be near fifty degrees down here. Ground level. We'll be talking about twenty eight to thirty. So what happens is you get raindrops to form in the clouds. They fall down through the cold layer. And they freeze upon contact with surfaces, and you can get into you know, obviously, some pretty dicey situations with that's on the walking and or travels employed on untreated services. So tom. It seems like most of us can be home in time for the this starts. But if you said ten to twelve hours of precip that could be seven am tomorrow. Is tomorrow going to be the big trouble when it comes to commuting?.

Here's one of the nicest human beings, I've met on the planet very long time. Absolutely. And he will have he'll have a conversation conversation with them. And explain it, and they may not like the explanation. But hey, there it is. I think I think Tom he seems to know what he's talking about. Finishes, right? Yeah. I almost went there. But I restrained myself. Yeah. And again, if you want to engage with top skill he, and he is a he here's the thing. He'll disagree with you. And you won't even know it sounds like he's agreeing with you. But he's not clear her that I've never had. I've never argued with. No neither. I just like know. I'm like this is incredible. Tom skilling talking to me about the weather. So it's a review recognizes my voice when I call on the phone, so it's like, okay. My days been made gives number at work. Okay. I wanna call him while he's no you don't. He's not up all the time. No, he's not let's see wind chill or popularly wind chill factor is the lowering of by temperature due to the passing flow of lower temperature air wind chill numbers are always lower than the air temperature for values where the formula is valid. I don't know if that helps anybody, but yes. So I guess it's a wind chill factor. The idea is what it feels like for your body. How your body is restored? If if if you walk outside on a day when there's no wind in its thirty two degrees. You probably can spend a few minutes outside without having your gloves on and it's not gonna be that big a deal, but shame temperature thirty two degrees. And the wind is thirty thirty five mile an hour gusts. You're going to notice my hands are starting to tingle, and they're not liking this very much. Well, I will say I'd having just Google that. Apparently just today there's a meteorologist out of out of Winnipeg who says that wind chill is not a real temperature. So. So. Which I think we know that we were saying it's a factor. Right. Of course, it's not a real temperature. It's it's an approximation of what it feels like on your skin when you're out with a combination of the wind and the air temperature. There you go. So again, the bone to pick is not with us. It's with the meteorologist. But apparently now is a meteorologist who also wants to pick another boat. So we go that's what we're trying to say David is stay warm, more or less. Yes. Take care of yourself. I always I'm always fascinated by the people who continue to work out in this weather that just seems painful that's the kind of thing where you have real. I'm still waiting to see the one who I I'm sure we're someone who's going to see this somebody who was out in a parka and shorts. Oh, no doubt about it. Okay. I just do that. Okay. Okay. So extra cargo say it is. And I'm a mom now. And I was driving to the station tonight. And I saw a woman crossing the street she had on a skirt and knee-high boots with the flesh exposed, right? So between the the skin between the knee and the bottom of her coat was. So basically what you're saying the same thing that you're talking about is wearing shorts, but she's wearing a skirt shoes our own wind tunnel. I right. I mean, that's that's yes. I it's it's like the the yoga pants. It's like they're not insulated. No. I'm like, really I'm wearing layers. I wear I players. Anyone who thinks women or not tough? Y'all are. In the winter. Yeah. Not all of us. I've got my snow boots on. I may look like I'm wearing address which I am. But it's a velvet dress and underneath I have layers under that, and then I put two or three layers on top of it when I got weather like this. And that's just my husband, and my sons, they don't seem to need. They don't seem to need to bundle up as much as I do and buy the house without a hat on. It makes me crazy that Griffin walks out of the house without a hat on nowhere buffs. Now. I wear I always wear a polar fleece ear band. That's what I do. Just because I have I that's the one thing is I have my hair to take care of. I can't put a hat on top. But I wear a very thick show of us are lucky. Well, you keep you keep that don't warm. Yeah. Well, you know, yes. I was never allowed to go out in the winter without a hat on. I've never I've never had that joyous moment of just head of hair cold, and I don't care. Yeah. Well, I had one of those fathers. You must have your hair short, and you must have a hat on at all times. I say, you know, what I think I should. I'm not always up one Griffin leaves for school because I work late. But I do I think I need to have a hat rule for him. I think in this kind of weather he needs to have. Here's a hood. But the hood doesn't do enough if he doesn't get sick. Well, and that's the thing right. But the thing I worry about is that he now takes the trains, you take ta to get to school. You know, and he might be on a platform. Let's say the train breaks down. Now, he's out in the conditions for much longer than he thought he was going to be. And that's true for anybody. We all act as though we're just running to the car or just going to catch the bus or the train you have to in this weather prepare for in case your car stalls, or you the trains are running. And you find yourself outside in the elements. You have to prepare for that. Don't you think David? Well, I'm wearing a base layers para base layer, socks under my wolf sucks. I've ever had to do it or ever chosen to do it. I figured you know, whatever it's going to be that. Brutal. No, I'm not a fan of this. I was laughing today because I was at an event I went to the Robert burns dinner at the Fulton's, Fulton square market kitchen and the folks from aber Lor had this wonderful event forever burns. But I was I was wearing velvet dress. And then I was wearing my snow boots underneath 'em. I and I'm wearing two layers of socks. And my feet were sweating like this is this is uncomfortable. You know, when you're feeder sweating when your feet, I've I've never had that. I know my feet were. I was my favorite sweating. Okay. Yeah. I was very hot out here, by the way, the seven zero eight says WD legend, Bob Collins, always asked if the temp is zero degrees and two time zero is still how could it ever get twice as cold? I still ponder that question. I will leave you to ponder Rick. Yes, going I'm not stepping into that one. And also everyone considering affinity while we take this break.
