"tom palace" Discussed on The Rich Eisen Show

"Back to the show ben lines in for rich. This is the rich eisen show so breaking news in the nfl. I never thought that we would. We would have something like this happened but this is a i guess where we are at in the world. Tom tweeting out the nfl. Just informed clubs if a game cannot be rescheduled during the eighteen weeks season in two thousand twenty one due to a cova outbreak among unvaccinated players. The team with the outbreak will forfeit and be credited with a loss for playoff seeding per sources massive implications or you guys thoughts when you saw this tweet. Come across From tom well. My first thought was great. Good we should be encouraging people to get vaccinated A lot you don't want to do it. i guess. That's your own personal choice. I think you should The we can't mandate players to get vaccinated because that would require a change to the collective bargaining agreement. They can mandate anyone. In the building. Though coaches of personnel people etcetera et cetera. So they're going to try to get the players to get vaccinated any way legally possible and this is a way to do it. That's what that was my first thought. I mean how many games were last year. Were postponed because of outbreaks of four or five. A handful were there was a good amount. Last rescheduled auto games on every night of the week. Last week we had a monday night. Obviously tuesday night football. We had wednesday night football saturday. There were games on every single day. So yeah there were a lot of games moved. Yeah and i remember the one that felt like maybe it's not even going to happen was a steelers game. They were still undefeated at the time against the ravens played on wednesday. The only we're able to figure it out. Remember the the forty niners played on monday night. Football with no what no wide receivers. They had like four or five guys in one group. Not able to play and they'd still played the game so that adds a whole other level of danger to the players. I remember there was a denver game where they didn't have any quarterbacks right remember that it was just really kind of scary out there but this is. This is a huge deal. And it'll aw motivate. I think some of the players go out there and get vaccinated. Hope some I think it all It definitely inspire more fluid conversations between the teams and their players like you said the collective bargaining agreement Didn't have cove in nineteen protocols is part of it obviously is that didn't exist yet in the world. so will this get teams to one hundred percent. I don't know but definitely changes the dynamic in the locker room. It changes the peer to peer conversations. And i think that's ultimately what moves things in the right direction is. Is things getting out of the shadows and people talking about them. So if you're on if you're on an nfl team and your team mates making a different choice. Then you are. You're going to have a conversation. Now is impacting wins and losses which then impacts playoff seeding bonuses and it all comes down to the almighty dollar always cold beasley has become the kind of the face of the unvaccinated nfl player. I wonder how much this is dividing locker rooms dividing camps as we get back into football here because if the games played you get your game check. I don't know. I see that's the thing that's going to divide the locker room when it comes down to money and this is this is an interesting move from the nfl. Because they're they're having to color within the lines like you said brockman not having the jurisdiction diction over the players to simply say you have to do this right. They can't legally do that. So they're trying to find ways to impact the culture surrounding their game. And this this news from tom palace. Sarah if you're just tuning in breaking now ben lines for rich on the rich eisen show. Nfl teams in forming clubs. That game That cannot be rescheduled during the eighteen weeks season. And that's the interesting part of the language there too from tom. Is that if it cannot be rescheduled that means there could be an outbreak with unvaccinated players. And they could reschedule it right. That means those players..

"Number f D I, C E and Josh McCown's favorite stalker, Mark Silverman has a knob Tate on Joshy and the potential for him being part of a new staff and Houston way. Told you in the last segment that Tom Palace Sarah was reporting the Jim Caldwell and Josh McCown. Have interviewed it for the interviewed for the Texan's head coaching job. We talked about how he has no coaching experience, Mike you're a folo from the NFL Network tweets this Saying the Texans are exploring the idea of Josh McCown, his head coach, but would surround him with at least one former head coach on the staff. Again. Not as crazy as it might seem to go from a player to head coach. And if anybody can do it, McCown can. Is that you or is that is it Garafalo or Gara? Follow Carol Solo? Yes. Yeah. So who was saying that if anybody can do it was that your edits or no? No part of the tweet on the last line of the tweet is And if anyone could do it, McCown can thank you Think Jim Caldwell wants toe go there and not be the head coach, And we like the baby. The tandem. Could it be Those two could they bring in Doug Peterson to be the assistant head coach under Joshua Count is they have a relationship. So what else do we I mean? Who else can we bring in so that we can We can divide this this thing up even more. That's so disrespectful. The Jim Caldwell if that's if that's the idea, I'm with you. I mean, like Jim Caldwell's interviewing to be the head coach, not to be the baby sitter. Well, they just respect that right to account for a place to be because Watson is gonna want to be traded. So although it's gonna be the head coach anyway, Josh McCown could help us years later. Still, if he becomes the head coach of the taxi guesses of Josh becomes the Head coach. You're probably going to start doing the show from Houston. Not after Shawn Watson is here. I love Josh. But I'm not going to Houston most you're gonna want to split season ticket. What was your question? Like how much deal of Josh I always told you that if they stuck with him and 13, they would want to Super Bowl or three. They I would have just continued to play the hot hand. Dwayne Haskins under fire after maskless strip club photos leak out

"Tom Pelous Sparrow NFL Network reporting. The Washington football team is aware of Social Media Post showing quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Partying mask Elice in a strip club. They're in contact with the NFL yesterday about the matter and is handling the matter internally. According to Tom Palace, Arrow, that would be a strip sack. I would believe on Dwayne Haskins there. I like it. He just got back on the field. What are you doing? Mm hmm. "If it's anyone other than the Chiefs or the Steelers and the Super Bowl 55 this year, I would be stunned at this point. Is that 13 No one's been able to emerge and stick consistently. And the answer. Here's a poll question tonight. Ravens Steelers pushback from Thursday to Sunday. If the Ravens can't play the Steelers on Sunday, Should the Ravens have to forfeit the game? And this all stems from the Tom Palace a report that the Ravens disciplined a strength conditioning coach for not reporting symptoms and not consistently wearing a mask or tracking device, which may have contributed to the team thrash. Of covered 19 cases per sources. If you had to give me the percentage on that poll question, trace On the amount of people that say yes, forfeit. What do you think that would be? And let's re tweet this by the way, also in CBS Sports radio, So we get that up there as well. That is so tough. I know you've got a lot of Pittsburgh attentions. I think they could kind of jump in. And skew the poll results. I still will think no 62.2% say yes. Why? For now you talked about earlier. How if they have to move on Sunday, you're in favor of forfeiting. I'm not. I don't think it's right to discipline the players for something the strength and conditioning coach did. The and I'm not excusing with the strength and conditioning coach dead. The guy may lose his job. And if he does, I'm not going to sit here and defend the guy. There's no defending what this guy may have allegedly done. You know he's faced the punitive action from the team and we'll see what does transpire from them. When I look at this thumb When we talk about this, there was a lot of reaction. Today There was a ton of reaction. And still the NFL. And why there's some inconsistencies here, where the rescheduled and go long stretches of not rescheduling and now rescheduled because the NFL really doesn't have a plan. The NFL is just hoping to get through 17 weeks of the regular season, and they want to avoid week 18. I'll be curious because the Ravens must play on Thursday night. You could always move back that game from Thursday to Sunday against the Cowboys and have them move their games back to back weeks on Thursday, but I will be curious. What the NFL does if they do face a situation where they can't move back to game And will they require team like the Ravens to forfeit? Or will you eventually just go? Two week 18. Or they're still, I guess and play that possibility. We expand the playoffs and extra team and go eight and eight. Real quickly duck conscious. He tweeted out today, man. That's some Bs when the game got postponed, and he also said Man, I was trying to go hunt all weekend. He then said. Y'all can say, Oh, duck, you just practice squad and that's all. But I'm still pissed that you all know how nice of a weekend is. Weekend office. Come on. "Say, we got to go old school will try to run roughshod over and we'll try to impose our will. I think the Cordell Patterson sweep is the Kung Pao chicken. I think you might be. What's the eggplant Parmesan Robiskie package. Now it could be a big a big fan of the farm race. Salmon. Delicious. They say, That's the first thing you can eat. Fresh got to stay away from that farm raised So you keep the hope alive. Tom Palace, Sarah says the 40 Niners packers gave me on his schedule right now. So good, good. All right, so it's still on. We'll see that. That's good. I guess we're going to learn a lot in the coming hours because the 40 Niners had to shut it down. But you know to the Bears in to some of the injuries in your makeshift offensive line. Maybe they can finally just kind of keep it simple. And they can run the ball the way they didn't charge her game last year, so I would act and looked at the Green Bay Packers. Will we played there trying to figure out exactly what everybody was drafted? Kenny Rutgers was a left tackle. First round pick out of USC. Right. Left. Left tackle. Was Adam know is Aaron Taylor? I don't know. Turn aim, right, Right. Frankie Bag of Donuts was 1/10 round, but that's free agent, But you're centers you find late. You always said write well in the 10th round beings he wouldn't even been drafted today. That's true. Wouldn't even be drafted. Adam Timmerman came out. I believe Yankton or Augustana in the seventh round. And Adam Temperament was a solid guard form solid plan and went over to the sailors tramps after that, correct and played on that Super Bowl team in 99, then the right girl dots in third round pick out of Texas and all right. So I mean, it's not like you're going to have smooth first rounders all the way across you've got. You're going to have to hit something somewhere and have guys perform March house Sure was 1/7 rounder. But he was a tackle for a long time. Lago is the first round Problem is, you're like when you bears I mean again. Ryan Pace has been making draft picks for the Bears all the way going back to 2015. He's drafted two tackles, one in the sixth round and one in the seventh round. I mean, I think like I know what you're saying. Sometimes you get lucky, and you find him. But when we wonder why they've got this revolving door at the yearbook and positions why they can't find a really good left tackle why Charles Leno hit for a little while for them, but is hardly a long term answer, and he's really struggled the last year and a half. It's because he himself was 1/7 round pick that goes back to the previous regime. And Phil Emery. If you're not investing, Cem Cem draft some serious draft capital in those players in that position, aren't you always just sort of spinning your wheels? I mean Arlington Hambre drafted in the seventh round. The only other tackle he drafted true tackle was all the way back in 2015 his first year. Pulling the trigger. Any drafted? Remember this name? Fabio Luger. I mean, he never lasted long at all. He was in the sixth round. Before that The Bears drafted Charles Leno in the seventh round Jordan Mills and remember the Jordan Mills experiment that was in the body that was in this in the fifth throne. A tackle. They didn't draft a tackle in 12. They didn't draft They dress the last time they used a first round pick. Unfortunately, it busted out. That was Gabe creamy way back in 2011. So the last time the Bears drafted a tackle in the first round, maybe they thought Kyle would be a tackle. At some point. Obviously, Kyle was a first round pick, but he mostly played. He did have a year attack. We mostly played guard. So maybe there's a little caveat there. They did Draft along in the first round, obviously in 2013 with the 20th pick, but the last tackle they selected Technically in the draft in the first round was Gabe creamy in 2011, and that kind of blew up in their face. Unfortunately, Boston and another tackle it took Remember the guy that came to campaign had a bad back. You're talking about your purse. Williams from Vanderbilt, Yoriko. You're right. He came, too. Can't be in a bad back in 2008. Yeah, So the last two guys they have taken in the first round. But before that, the last tackle they took in the first round was Marc Colombo tore up his knee. Now Mark went on to have a nice career just didn't happen with the bears because the knee injury was devastating. He went down. He went to Dallas, and he had a couple of good years and doubt. Think about that guy's all the bitching and complaining we do about quarterback. Look at the first round tackles they've drafted and what's happened to them. They've all busted out. I mean, this is going to take some research. But has there been another franchise and football that's going a decade without drafting a tackle. In the in the first round. I can't I don't know how long T if I look back the last 10 years. I'll bet you in the first round there have been at least 42 tackles. Offensive tackles taken in the first round, and the Bears have taken none of them Last 10 years. We'll try to do some of that research. That's a good call. 3123323776 bears thoughts if you want to join us. I mean, there's always so much to unpack here. We're always talking about the same thing. This offense can't get going. What are they going to do? Do they keep it simple. This week is the audience reason could that actually work against the Titans team that started 50 but has now lost back to back games? And in fairness to win its fifth needed overtime to beat Houston when they had a lead. They let the Texans comeback and not only take the lead, you know, tie the game, but take the dollar. Miami Carm, don't remind me. Why did you have a better had No ID The Texans on the money line when they came here? That's right. It was the little guy was a tough loss. So it's a winnable game here again, despite the five into record and the fact that the Titans were about a six point favorite 312332 ESPN. That's the number Carmen in your Coke. Chicago Bears-New Orleans Saints fight erupted after Javon Wims threw a helmet punch

"My thoughts on that Saints Bears game. And wins. Throwing not one but two punches to a guy wearing a helmet. So what's going through his head? What's going through his head. Why would you punch a guy in the head wearing helmets like the dumbest thing ever? The only thing dumber than that is doing it a second time. What could have prompted that? Why would you ever run up on a dude? And punch him in the helmet twice. Well, one explanation might be that it goes back to the previous Siri's. You see, after a play, there was some sort of exchange between whims and C. J. G. J. And while they were talking, CJ gj ripped the mouthpiece off of whims, his face mask and through it to the ground. Now that probably is over the line. Probably over the line isn't a reason to go debatable, but probably over the line. I gotta admit it's pretty funny. Somebody's not cracks me up him jerking that mouthpiece off his face mask and Troy to the ground actually made me laugh. For the record Tom Palace, Sarah reports. The whims told the Bears coach is that C J G. J spit on him as well during that exchange.

The whims told the Bears coach is that C J G. J spit on him as well during that exchange. I don't know that part did or did not happen. We've talked about this on the show for years. Spitting on somebody is disgusting. It's despicable. It's hideous, grotesque, and that is, in fact, a reason to go. But if you look at the video, it's not clear that whims reacts the way somebody would react if they were spit on right If somebody spits on you, you respond immediately. You don't wait If somebody spits in your face, you don't just file that away. That's a reason to go and almost everybody in the history of the world does And they do so right then and right there, they do it when it happens. But Wednesday in he waited He had to wait because his Evan Sacks points out on Twitter. He was subbed out on the next play. And just before the next play whims. His mouthpiece is on the field and one of the Bears offensive lineman throws it away, so the Bears end up pawning. The Saints get great fuel position after the return, and they end up kicking a field goal. Then the bearsoffense comes back out on the field and on the first play off their drive whims gets his revenge. Sort of not really. In fact, not even close. He gets his revenge in the sense that as soon as that play was dead, he did run up on C. J G. J from behind. I don't know. Maybe he even shouted out. Hey, yo, Remember me? But what he did try to dio. He tried to rip C J. J's mouthpiece out. In retaliation. It didn't work. But then he punched him in the helmet twice. Then he got tackled that he got ejected from the game, which is awesome is the best thing ever. Just so we're clear he didn't wander over to this guy. They didn't meet up again in a pile or the end of a play. My man sprinted over to him. I love the whims just sitting on the sideline planning his attack. You know this guy's there figuring out how to make sure that C J. G. J gets his And the best thing that he could come up with. So I'm not is that is that You know, I got my game screwed up tonight's Carolina in Atlanta. I'm sorry. Do they play this weekend? Tampa Bay in New York. I thought I thought that they are the Monday night game Monday that okay, so they play Monday night. And now all before their offense of linemen have been quarantined and also for me and Rappaport. Rick of the Chargers have a positive test. You just reported Chargers had a player test positive for covert 19. And that player in all close contacts were told to stay home and isolate. The team learned of this last night. The facility will be open, but all meetings will be virtual. So Charger's not practicing today. Wonder how if it all that will affect the game Sunday here in Denver? Yes. You gotta wonder. We'll see how this plays out.

"One call, that's all sports death. Here's Brian D. Breaking news out of the National Football League this morning. Tom Palace Sarah of the NFL Network, the first to report that Patriots star quarterback Stefan Gilmore has tested positive for covert 19. The Patriots have cancelled their practice scheduled for today. Now at New England just played Kansas City on Monday night. Kansas City apparently had all of their tests come back negative as of this morning. In addition to more Tennessee Titans players have tested positive in the latest round of testing. They won't be able to reopen their facility today, as was plans and this weekend's game against Buffalo in very serious jeopardy. Meanwhile, in Green Bay unless something drastic changes we won't be back at Lambeau Field in 2020 as Copan 19 cases continue to spike across our state, the Packers put on indefinite hold on hosting fans at games this season. The Packers next home game is scheduled for November, the first against the Vikings. Fans or no fans, the Packers not going to be playing this weekend anyway. They're on there Bye week, and Aaron Rodgers says it's going to feel a lot different this year. There were working tomorrow on DH. There's some optional things rest of the week. But who knows? I mean, coaches might have freedom or the ability to zoo do zoom meetings and have workouts are weak. Not much of a by week. That's Rogers joining the Pat McAfee show his head coach, Matt the floor doesn't seem like he's going to be taken much time off. He knows what's looming on the other side of this by. We've got a great challenge right in front of us with Tampa Bay. Talk about a team that's that's really loaded in all three phases, so it'll be a great test for us. They have a great defense. They have a great offense, led by a Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers against Tom Brady. That game scheduled for a week from Sunday. One other injury note out of Green Bay rookie tight and Josiah to guara out for the year. He's torn his A C L. Speaking of injuries in college football, the Badgers set to open up their season two weeks from Saturday. They're going to be without their starting quarterback Jack Cone suffered a noncontact foot injury on Saturday. He had surgery yesterday to repair it, but he's gonna be out indefinitely, which means it could be grand merged his time in Madison. Badgers fans may be very excited about that, but obviously not the circumstance. You would've wanted to see the freshman take the field for the first time. In basketball LeBron James. Now just one win away from Ring number four. James against Butler one on one Tough fall away. Baseline shot. It's good, difficult shot. LeBron James. What's the Lakers up six, like Bring of ESPN on the called The Lakers beat the Heat 102 to 96 in Game four. The MBA finals. James was magnificent 28 points. 12 rebounds, eight assists, and he really understood the importance of last night's moment. I felt like for me personally, this is The biggest game of my career. Want to relate a message to my teammates and type of zone? I was in the moment it wass because I just know how great of a team that we're playing against the Lakers now lead that serious three games to one. They have the opportunity to clinch the MBA championship with a victory on Friday night. And finally in the WN Ba the Seattle Storm Clinton that championship last night as well. So congratulations. To Seattle Gene that felt like an update that I didn't like March or April of this year. We just had that stretch of time where it felt like all negative news out of the sporting world. Nothing good out of the NFL this morning. You just wonder how the league is going to handle the consistent outbreaks that we seem to be seeing At this juncture. It shows you how fragile it all is to all you need is one or two players and the whole thing could go off the rails. And yeah, what are they going to do? I would imagine they're going to try to power through somehow, but you can't put people who have been exposed in contact with other people in players and teams. And the art and bubbles, So they're travelling there moving around. It's it's not a good situation. You ready for more breaking news? What now A player on the Las Vegas Raiders has tested positive today, Per Diana Rossini of ESPN baby, too, with the Raiders now, too, with the Raiders to with Tennessee to in New England, and obviously this is affecting all the teams that they're playing, so this could become a very slippery slope in the coming days. 7 19 a W T M J. "Eight game suspension today. That eight games, of course, is for multiple violations of the league's personal conduct policy. Pro football talk just posted an article that Antonio Brown, according to Tom Palace, air of NFL media, has accepted his a game suspension and isn't expected to appeal. That's all a bit surprising to main eyes 100% in the wrong but without frequently, Antonio Brown is out of touch with reality and then also threatens to retire, actually says he's retiring. And then we know he flip flops that to me, says that he wanted a decision. He got the decision, and now he's going to accept with that. And we'll see if we could get back to being the great football player that he wants Wass now I'm very skeptical of that. They're zero reason to trust Antonio Brown. But some of the details here, Profootballtalk says that his suspension begins week. One regardless of Brown is on a roster or not. And it will last through week eight, even if he's not signed and his team's eighth game if he is signed, so that's something to look at. If you're a team and you bring in Antonio Brown. You're gonna miss him for the 1st 8 weeks of the season. If we even get eight weeks of the season this year for the National Football League, Mike Foria points that the league could extend Brown suspension of further violations are found related to an ongoing civil suit in Florida. And also in addition to this brown suspension stands from an accusation that Brown harassed a woman who went public with concerns about Brown's behavior and a no contest plea to Burghley and battery charges, burglary and battery charges from a January incident. In Florida, so maybe he has not played since that week. Two game September 15th. It was his Onley game with the Patriots up against Miami, where he did catch a touchdown pass from Tom Brady on the left side of the end zone down in South Florida. So now we get to the question would you bring in Antonio Brown? And when I think of that question, and I dissect that question I personally wouldn't want him on my team. But a team is going to bring him in. Because this man for a long time was the creme de la creme at the wide receiver position and the National Football League. Now he has lost his way. He was disgraced What the end in Pittsburgh, he was disgraceful and Oakland. He was disgraceful in New England. He's had a lot of problems off the field, and the only one that he could blame is himself and who truly knows what's true and what isn't true. But we know in this league that usually get a second chance. And if you're that good, you'll get 1/3 4th or fifth chance. And that's kind of where Antonio Brown is at. And if you think about it a game suspension And who knows how many games we see this year in the NFL? If you're a team and you're looking at the set, low risk, high reward that even if he freaks out and does something wrong, your team could survive without him. For example, like the Seahawks Like the Ravens, both teams who are Super Bowl contenders. I think you could bring him in. And if you think about it You don't know how long he's going to last. You don't know when he's going to really just freak out and something's going to change. This is such a mercurial person. But at eight game suspension He's got to be a model citizen during those eight games, really, from now until the start of the season and through that eight game suspension. And if he does one more thing wrong and this Spence could even grow even further, depending on what happens with this lawsuit going on right now, But if he does everything the right way. And you get him back after week eight. Going into week nine. You just need him to behave for week. 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 and then you get him in the postseason. So is a team going toe. Wait until you get later into the year or do you go take them right now. I do think there's going to be a market for him and you start to think of teams. Ravens and Seahawks come to mind. Packers just lost Devin Funchess. They have not really surrounded Rogers with much other than the Monte Adams and Aaron Jones. If you're green Bay, would you make an aggressive move? Would you make a bold move? And would you bring in Antonio Brown? Can you imagine? Davante Adams, San Antonio Brown with Dan Rogers? If Brown could Not be such a fool off the field. That would be unbelievable. Have fun trying to defend that. Especially with Aaron Jones in your backfield, Jamal Williams to and then Dylan out of BC that they just drafted So would a team like the Ravens bring him in. I think they would A team like Seattle. I think they would Packers. I'm not sure about If you stay in that division I know the Vikings just lost the fund digs. They drafted Justin Jefferson in the first round. You have Adam's feeling there. If you're Minnesota, would you bring in Antonio Brown? How about this one? Well, I'm gonna throw a team out there. How about the Houston Texas? Now they got rid of DeAndre. Hopkins was absolutely foolish there, hoping that Brandin cooks is healthy this year. They're hoping that David Johnson is healthy this year. They're hoping that will Fuller is healthy. This year, they sign Randall Cobb is well. Can you imagine if Bill O'Brien brings in Antonio Brown? That could be a move depending on how you feel about and that could win over a lot of fans in Houston..

"And gentlemen, you could find him on Twitter and Instagram. I believe at Tom Palace Sorrow. Tom. What's up, boys? Tom? Great. The jet with you. You've been crushing it right now. I probably look like I've been crushed. I didn't remember this was a video interview, so literally got back to the gym three minutes ago on keep it going. I can respect that. I like that. You're fitting in sometime to get the gains in because what you've been doing on the Internet with breaking news. I said this on the show the other day. All the information that's coming from the NFL side of things when it comes to the proposals, and the negotiations to get back into play had been coming through Tom Palace Sorrow. Tom, are you and Roger Goodell attached at the hip through this entire process, or how are you getting all this incredible information right now. What's fascinating about this is this is the first time that I could remember in terms of any big issue in the NFL wher the teams are the last people to know that you have going back months conversations between the medical officials Dr Allen skills with the NFL Dr Tom Maier with the NFL Players Association they've contracting with. Outside experts. The people at Duke of all these people involved so football ops, which normally is the driving force behind anything like a schedule, change to training camp or preseason games. They would be the ones driving, communicating with the clubs. Well, They've kind of been having to defer to the medical people. And so there have been a number of times in recent weeks where I've tweeted something, and I've had whether it's general managers, head coaches, whatever calling me and say. Really like that. That was in the proposal like the one last week. I think it was when the NFL took that initial proposal where was going to be 35% escrow Playerssalaries this year. Which would have added up to $1.28 million. The player said. No, we're not doing that. So the NFL came back and said, Hey, what if we say you can cut 40 million from the salary cap and benefits? Which you calculate that out? The players share that is also $1.28 billion. Get back this year. Why tweet that 40 million and six general managers? I'm not getting that night called me to say there's no How could we do that? I said, I figured they asked. You know there. There. There's a General Managers Advisory committee. There's CDC working group. There are these groups of GM team executives who are supposed to be involved in these decisions, but it's a negotiation. There are bargaining chips involved on some of these proposals that the league continues to make about changing the cap number in 2020. At this late stage, it's not just a concern for the players. It's a concern for the people whose job it is to find the players and put their team together because the rosters here on July 23rd of pretty much set, let's talk about the money thing because it feels like the infectious disease. Emergency response plans have been okayed by just about everybody, which a lot of the players talked about is one of their main concerns. It's like, hey, we're in the middle of a pandemic. We want to know what the response is going to be our players going to be able to go on I R. Is it a football injury? All that's getting settled, But now we're getting into What is the rial problem in this entire thing? And that's the financials of it. All it is being alleged. I think B a your account and a lot of other people that the NFL once it make back or take the hit next year, where the NFLPA wants a kind of spread it across the 11 years of the new Ciba as a business person. What did you want her? Rather have your losses be spread out over a decade, as opposed to in one year. Why is this even a talking point? I feel like everybody who has a brain would be on the NFLPA side of this in unless an NFL owners looking to sell his team within the next five years. Why would they not want to do that? Is that a really thing? Or is this just a bargaining thing to try to get the business settled as quickly as possible for their return to play? It's definitely really. And let's start with this so that the NFL in the NFLPA since 2011 have had a revenue sharing agreement. It is. Unlike the previous systems, which were capped credits. This is straight up revenue sharing the players get 47 48 cents on every dollar. So if you have what right now is projected as a $4 billion revenue shortfall this year, players are responsible for about 1.9 billion of it. In other words, if they change nothing this year than there is about $1.9 billion in player cost, meaning salary cap. As well as benefits that are going to the players that technically if you did the troop mechanism anywhere at the end of every year because the Kappas say, based upon projections of following year's revenue, there's never been a multi $1,000,000,000 shortfall. But if there were and if you did nothing, if you did not cut a deal, what would happen is that troop would kick in next February or March. And the salary cap would drop about 50 60 $70 million per club, because if you divide that $1.8 billion revenue lost by 32 teams benefits is also part of that salary cap is most of it. A salary cap would plummet. That is not in anybody's interest. So in terms of why the owners want to get back the money Now this couple of factors involved one beam again. That's 50. 60 $70 million of revenue that is out of your pocket. It would be yours right now, in terms of actually running your business. If you look at the Packers revenue numbers on their profit numbers last year, don't be a sizeable chunk of it. That would be out of your pocket now. NFL teams don't want to take debt onto their franchises. Right now. Their argument is put some money back in our pockets one way or another at this stage. If you do nothing, the other thing that could happen. Let's say the NFLPA doesn't cut a deal. They say You know what? We're fine with that entire thing hitting the cap in 2021 veterans are still going to get cut. Now. Why? Because teams are going to want to pocket cash. There's some teams that aren't going to care. They're going to say we're going to play to win here were maxed out on our salary cap as it is, we're still going to play. We're going to keep everybody on the roster. His other teams going. That veteran who might be making $12 million nonguaranteed. We're moving on from after the season. Anyway, This might be a way for us in terms of our budgeting as well as our cash full of say, You know what? We're going to cut ties. Now we're going to go younger, or we're gonna ask 10 guys on her team to all take a pay cut. So you got $10 million nonguaranteed this year. We don't even know if we're playing all the games this year, you might lose the prorated portion of that money will guarantee you one million. Now, if you could take a cut down to five million And that potentially could take place across the league. So there are multiple stakeholders. Obviously in this between the players, the owners the league. Nobody wants just everything to hit next year. But the discrepancy to your point pad is The union wants this just be spread out between 2022 2030. They want to leave status quo in 2020. This is under early proposals, 2021 pegged the same salary cap do you have this year, then spread it out over the next nine years. Owners could collect interest on that money that is being paid back sooner, but it's basically a $2 billion loan to the players. That they would pay off over a decade. The NFL wants to get a large chunk of that back right now, Tom, listen, I just listen to you talk about a lot of finances and business left and fantastic fashion, By the way, that is not easy to do what you just did very wouldn't know that I gave up on the finance major in Boston College after one session transferred communications. Well, a fact you got into Boston College because we've got a big ass brain. I was never even considered by that. The Eagles up their butt and congrats on the the stadium being named after you by the Hey, up there at Boston College..

"Charles Robinson, friend of ours from Yahoo, which is still Cos somehow and Taylor, former Pittsburgh Steeler and Super Bowl champion front of the show, which out to him, But what would his mindset that boy's Ito Look at him with Ah, that boy the bear down. He put that on there, too. We'll talk to them about what Their mindset is. Charles Robinson seems to know things that nobody else knows. He's been at Yahoo since its inception, and he's survived its death Somehow, so he is still the senior NFL writer over there. He knows a lot about what's going on on the inside Tom Palace. Sorrow has been leaking a lot of things from the NFL sides, It seems as if he is potentially in commissioner Goodell's pocket at the mall. He has a very optimistic attitude as do a lot of the players. I think they just want to make sure they get things straightened out. We think they would do so well, also got some big news today about a lot of stuff, lost stuff. College football players allegedly thinking about just focusing on there. Chance to get in the NFL as opposed to a college football season because it feels as if the college football has next to no chance as opposed to the NFL, which is strictly business in football. College football has a lot of other people that they have to, you know, appease to get rules back in there. In a lot of those people, lawyers, presidents admissions people, A lot of those people don't live and die with football. NFL lives and dies with football colleges Universities have to look out for a lot more other than just their athletics and if they're gonna postpone Remove fall sports You gotta think ah lot of the big superstars of college football that are definitely going to go into the NFL. Why not start training for the NFL right now, as opposed to potentially playing a shortened season that you don't even know if it's gonna happen? It's time to go get your money in the running back for Clemson, Travis. At the end, he decided to go back to school, as opposed to coming out. Ah, Next off season, there are 75 running backs that are elite level that are going to be free agents plus Travis CT, and I'll be excited to see how it works out for him. But if I'm a college football player, or I know, college football player or somehow I fornicated with my Lady Sam, we had a baby. It grew up to be taller than both of us in played college football or somehow, and they were like, 2021 years old. I'd be telling my kid lesson. Go ahead and figure out how to run a 40. Go do some bench in and start throwing balls in the holes. Kids. This is what we are doing for the next 10 months because it feels as if college football is probably Going to be Unfortunately, the thing you had to go ahead. Doesn't college football's about no shot? Really does. I don't like it. Hey, we don't want no way Don't like that here. I don't like that. I don't like that one bit. I've been enjoying. "Yankees. They're going to play a baseball game tonight, and I think it's going to be on TV. I think the yes network is going to air. It's an inter squad baseball game. And you know what? I'm intrigued to put it on as I'm sure a lot of people are because if you miss really baseball Not not that classic games isn't really where they're really just, you know the outcome. That's the problem. And sometimes the footage is very, very grainy. If you're watching on YouTube. So you're looking for any kind of baseball. I'm into it. So you got that? At least tonight. Tollfree number 877337 66 66 Danny and Staten Island. What's up, Danny? Then I want you to hear me out on this one. I have a great idea on a new bracket. All right. What you do is using every MLB current player excluding the Yankees, people right into or how they want to do it. They do their own. Cole's like, Oh, that trout. He's no flute like that and people and what you do is you guys now without 64 every week you do it. You have a person's name attached to it. Like, Oh, that he made that picture a mess like that. Not using active players, of course, but any current and will be player playing right now. I think it's a brilliant Brackett you got you got. What do you think? I don't I don't know how to pull it off in a bracket sense, But I do think it can be interesting, you know? I think one of the past times that has now occurred over the last 15 years is, of course, creating your own John Sterling calls and I've done it. I think one game I was at Me and a buddy of mine just did legendary Yankees. You know Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio guys like dago in marriages? What would John say for them? So it's It's a variation of taking everybody else. Who baseball coming up with your own sterling ISMs. But the one thing I learned I learned a few things. By listening to the sterling five that we did last month and the month before was some of his best calls are not for the biggest stars. No. The name and what you condone with that name is a huge factor may be even a bigger factor and how great of a player he is. But look, we may not have any baseball. We may not have any basketball. So as a teacher probably told you as a young intern. Maybe your parents told you There is no such thing as a bad idea Sours and white Plains I sow. I don't know. Yeah, just wantto go off topic late, and I'm a big Mets fan jets and arrange a grand next man, But I was wrong about the Redskin name. Yes, the naming of the new I got a perfect name, which is venues before. Andi have a logo for about the Washington generals on and you get it. You know, like that George Washington as the logo. I mean, I did that. Perfect. So first of all, love honoring George have no problem with that. But the Washington generals doesn't make you think of something else. Like I don't know. The Washington generals losing all the type to the Harlem Globetrotters. I don't know if you can get past that. I live in the past, but I, but I do like you definitely went to a sense of something I love, which is honoring history. And you know you're kind of Washington in yourself Twice because Washington Spoiler alert is named after Washington. How about the Washington Washington's Now we're in business. I think it's too difficult to do the generals. I just like I think of the Washington Generals, don't you think? Doesn't everybody When you think of the Washington generals, You know what you're thinking about your thinking about a team that loses all the time. Now, Of course, it's easy for a giant fan right now or a cowboy fan right now to jump on in and make a joke. It's it's low hanging fruit. I'll give you an example. The other day. Was it yesterday or today? I can't remember the day but report comes out. That Philip Rivers, Tom Pel, Sarah Tweets of NFL Network and Trust Me, We all thought the same thing. Tom Palace zero Tweets. Philip Rivers raises a Big question on the NFLPA call on Friday. If a player test positive for covert 19 during Super Bowl week, But is asymptomatic would you have no choice but to sit now? I think we'd all admit, very interesting question. You know, what if Tom Brady is a symptomatic that getting ready for the Super Bowl? They're really gonna hold him out. The answer is, yes, by the way, but fair to ask the question. But what did every single person tweet at Tom Palace Arrow when that we came out? It was some variation of boys that nice of Philip Rivers to ask for Patrick Mahomes. Well, Philip Rivers you never have to worry about that, like, is just too easy. That's problem with generals. But thank you again. I think I said this before he called him with the idea. No idea's a bad idea, Right? That's at least what I was talking pizzas would bury What's up, Pete? Hey, Evan, How are you? I'm good man. All right. So I got a couple of things to stay with me for a second. Yes. Ah, the other day smooth with 20 days and somebody said milky it Ah for a batting title, right? Yeah, milky. You know the new mess? Yeah. Amen. Milk. Hera Milky Cabrera never won the batting title. The only thing he did do is I think he wanted all Star Game M V P. Of that, and the one year he won that on the one time he was only and also one time. And I'm just going to be his line will quick. Tony made a good point. "The word whatsoever it's Chris Brockman hi Chris for what you have over there so let's just start with the Tom Brady staffed by Ian Rapoport saying the contract with Tom Brady is one that's going to pay him thirty million dollars per year it's agreed to and finalized just waiting for Tom Brady to announce it as Ian and Tom palace are over talked about on NFL network today the word among teams that were interested in Tom Brady is the impression that Brady wanted to bring Antonio brown with him to the new spot brown of course still under investigation by the National Football League so we'll see when he will be eligible to play but Tom Brady is close with Antonio brown Kerrey I don't I don't particularly as you know I just the I I haven't seen him I haven't seen hide nor hair of him since that dreadful video of him yelling like an absolute total raving lunatic there's no other way to put it with his his kids hearing him it was so disturbing it was so I had to turn it off actually yeah you know and and again the NFL says that brown status remains under review so I don't know how he's cleared to play that said Jim Trotter had some more background on the Brady side yeah yeah his understanding is that Brady's brace can't knew there were two serious suitors and open talks by giving both teams Brady's financial terms two years sixty million plus guaranteed when both those teams got to assume it's the charges in box said they were in other factors came into play things it tilted the scales to the box Brady wanted to remain close to his his oldest son with Bridget Moynahan who lives in the New York area Brady's family spends a lot of leisure time in Miami Costa Rica and South America which also made the east coast desirable Brady also intrigued by the prospect of working with Bruce Arians long history of getting the most out of all the quarterbacks variances the math he seriously I mean the Chargers had a us change an offensive coordinator and every young guy there and and Anthony lane is a terrific head coaches I know but Ariens talks to quarterbacks he talks their language he knows our language she knows and home basically you know give Brady the reigning and respect not saying that that that charges wouldn't it's just a different story and it's also geographically sound and there's no state tax going to throw that in there and it's closer to the place is the beautiful places they seem to be vacationing from or two all right so with the Brady domino falling to Tampa Bay S. Ian Rapoport saying that the Chargers are now not expected to sign or trade for a veteran quarterback moving forward with Tyrod Taylor in twenty twenty of course the Chargers have these six overall yeah they better go and get some nice shiny quarterback object there I'll tell you that how all use that with all due respect Terodde teller is as an opportunity here and by the way from everything that he works hard and people like and he's a good person from everything that I hear I don't think I've ever met him we've had him on the show and so he can get these opportunities it's wonderful Los Angeles you need to have star players which is why I'm kind of you know maybe I'm wrong there's the business of the NFL here Todd Gurley's a star player in this town and fans nominee respect them and they love him and when he scores the place does go crazy okay and so I usually don't trade your star players here in Los Angeles you don't the star players come here so the Chargers just lost a star player a quarterback and come on out and see the Chargers with the quarterback that few people in the United States other than be fans of the bills and maybe Virginia Tech wouldn't L. I mean it's it's it's it's it's a tough sell Kaman the problem with camp might be well how's your how's your foot yep wow me looks pretty good in the work of the shore does dining yeah okay the anything else okay so let's talk about this de Andre Hopkins thing Michael Irvin was on get up this morning and said this he told me he said Michael it was a bit of a power struggle there because bill o'brien told coach o'brien thought here too much influence over the locker room he called the Andre Hopkins in a meeting to talk about this in the kind of just hash it out in that meeting he started the meeting with solid the Andre Hopkins this that blew my mind would be Andrea told me this he said Hey all the last time I had to have a meeting like this it was with Aaron Hernandez I was like what what did he put in Aaron Hernandez in this meeting you say yes you did he said Michael that blew my mind that he would even bring that up I've never been in any trouble I don't know why would he equate me with Aaron Hernandez and from there the meeting just deteriorated you know we got into talking about the Andre Hopkins could be other options as well a few kids and and and from different different different women and he said you know he told the Andre doesn't like that he has his baby Mamas around sometimes in a form that I think the relationship just went back and got us we got a trade of the Andre Hopkins from from Houston for basically like I said earlier a ham sandwich all because of that relationship so filling in the blanks of what we assume is something that's not football with some very shocking details that bill o'brien later on said was overblown and the Andre Hopkins agreed it was overblown yeah jamming gender options posted on Twitter early today this is being blown way out of proportion as I've said before enjoy it and I'm proud of my time with the Texans up most respect for coach o'brien that will not change now I'm ready to play for the cardinals yes we're we're in search for for Amtrak I'm sure he did tell that Jeremy such as going on television is just making stuff up right certainly when he's not even on his own network so he's telling what he heard and that's out there I still don't understand I just to to the oil and and even if the Andre Hopkins had made a salary demand of wanting eighteen to twenty million dollars a year for being a wide receiver in this league he's twenty seven right Israel how how old he is I believe the Andre Hopkins and Amari Cooper's even younger it's amazing how it did Amari Cooper coming to league when he was like twelve I mean it's amazing how can that be twenty eight in June okay he once at a twenty eight year old as a twenty year old wide receiver twenty million dollars a year eighteen twenty million dollars yeah that's what Cooper's making he's three years left on his deal so you basically do what you do in the NFL which is like I hear what you're trying to say we're not given it to you we can't break the president of three years in a row you don't want to show up we'll deal with it you saw what happened with Dallas and Zeke hopefully we'll see when we see you and when we do when you got two years left on a deal we're more than happy to do it unless you don't want for various reasons that made no sense just the two I still can't believe that's all I got from raising all right eight four four two oh four which number at all if you're on hold stay on we will take your phone calls before the end of this hour just sit back and enjoy the conversation I have with Hank is area the star of Barack Meyer on IFC coming to IFC back tonight good old Henry Die Hard met Jack Nick I won't go down until the worm hole with him because I do not want to get his now take it easy to Asian suddenly suddenly one minute you're grown and thirty third street next meeting on the thirty first I don't have that so out of respect a respect back to Henry I will I will not ask any questions about the next but as a jet fan I'm sure he's very happy the Thomas Edward Brady is wearing pewter that's next on the rich Eisen show Hey the Honda CRV everybody the Honda CRV I should do this as Brockmire the Honda.

"Second the show Dave Logan Rick loosing Kathie Lee revision of the. show in the by Jimi Hendrix from obviously a long time back we're talking about the. I'm eleven today is September eleventh course eighteen years ago everybody's life changed in in some shape or fashion by the way we're gonna cordon sudden with this Broncos wide receiver tomorrow Bradley Chubb will join us here a little bit later on in the hour it Derek Wolfe will join us before our show is out as well one one thing to report from the Broncos and this comes from Tom felt Tom Pell Cerro from in a film that works two one James who was injured Rick you I called the Broncos raiders game is injured early in that game that that's the right tackle that they got the off season game a lot of money and that they the Bronco certainly hope he's going to be a cat the stabilizers that position Tom palace Cerro is reporting that to his injury will not be season ending although we do we don't have any indication terms of how long he will actually miss it he's a guy that that has had some injury issues in his career he was injured most of training camp we didn't see much of a job in training camp and what did you play about aids snaps tense nap so they get a date against the raiders yeah well you know we saw the replay that the injury that that could have been. Lee disasters I mean that that could have been Hey you're done for the year you've gotta ACL injury or or some sort of major knee injury it's bad enough that is going to miss some time but again in a phone that works Tom Pelister reporting that he will not need season ending surgery not that it matters but will report because it's accurate for years on the deal that the Broncos gauge one James fifty one million dollars of which thirty I believe one maybe thirty two million of that guarantee so they got a lot of money invested in him there and and not getting nothing out of them right now because he's injured they do like a will concern well we'll see how he holds up to right tackle but not now you're you're getting thin on that offense of line they're thin at cornerback cornerback the the secondary was supposed to be one of their of their deepest. position room positions in it Bryce Callahan another thing can they don't know what's going on with him it's been reported that they're looking for a corner back now if you're not going to get a good one are you at this stage of the year of it you're gonna get a guy that nobody else wanted yeah you can make a trade was a resort trade you know the callin things a little problematic for me because we were led to believe we were led to believe we are told that he could have played in weeks three and four and I I evidently he's had a setback he his re injured the foot but obviously you know what any sort of foot injury if you're an NFL player that's an issue but especially at wide receiver or defense of back L. O. corner right because you have to be able to put that foot the ground and plant cotton xcelerated out of your cuts so you know I I'm not sure what to make of Bryce Callahan I'm really not yeah it it's it in in that really hurt him in the game against the raiders he sure exploited I see get out on was a young player in in in might be a good player eventually but he's still got a ways to go I keep thinking Kareem Jackson we talked about it during the game to got this played cornerback at a high level for nine years they haven't played safety I don't know why that wouldn't be something I'm sure they talked about it once you move him over to corner then maybe one get a safety for some depth at that position are there better safety is out there right now I don't know but I mean you could put it what you will parks you know I mean you've you've got some options I I think anything would be on the table I think it'll depend frankly and how how long. some of these injuries you know the medical staff the coaches will have an idea in terms of pay how close is Callahan right if he's if we think he's really close then you probably don't make the move with Kareem Jackson but you also I mean I think yeah it was a third round pick this is the second year that's a tough position you know in the NFL that you're you're out there at times by yourself it was interesting we had Vic Fangio on yesterday he he openly talked about how we roll to him a little bit we obviously didn't give him enough help which is you know in my mind sort of a nice way of saying come on man. you got to you got to make plays if you're out there you have to be able to hold up and you got to make plays this is not me this is the NFL so I mean I'm not seen as a cat and Kent cannot eventually turn into a solid player maybe very good player but when you're out there you got to be able to hold up that's the nature of the position yeah he made even a player to in the second half as I recall hi to Mike he rebounded yeah in the second half but they they really took advantage of them in that first half and do you can't have that every week couple of other in a film those quickly Atari kill we talked about him yesterday who was injured in that opening game the chiefs on the road against Jacksonville he's going to be out at least four weeks and maybe six weeks so hill was gonna miss a substantial amount of time with that broken clavicle and Jonathan Abrams who was really very active against the Broncos the first round draft choice one of three first round draft picks out of Mississippi state for the raiders he is gonna be placed on IR with a shoulder injury so the raiders are gonna miss Jonathan Abrams up maybe for the entire year that is quite a blow to Jon Gruden scorer yeah he looks like a good player no question I think they say played most of the game with a torn rotator cuff wow yeah and he played well he's a tough guy you could tell I mean early in training camp and he is certainly in that game he doesn't have a lot of regard for his body or anybody else's body so you know I say that with respect but yeah he played he played a hundred miles an hour in the game he took the shot on Royce Freeman was penalized that eventually hurt commentary on calmly yeah economies okay so he's gonna be able to to go so if we're gonna talk football we got to talking about Antonio brown the story that broke late yesterday. and I'm sure you football fans have heard about it more Antonio brown drama eighty a woman. who identified herself as Britney Taylor says she was hired by brown as a personal trainer and then three different incidents she reported happened with him not. I don't know why you stick around after the first one or two but she did. she says he exposed himself and kissed her without her consent during a training session with him she was a supposedly training him. and then a second alleged incident later that month. he. begin **** in front of her without her knowledge she says. and then this is without her knowledge her without her consent well it says here without our knowledge she was watching a. some sort of religious show on our iPad she says that you know some some religious service and that's an interesting combination he got what was he like behind us maybe he was in the room hi and then he finished up what he was doing. yeah I don't want to get too graphic but I think you know what I'm talking about yes and then if you filed a lawsuit in federal court in Florida she said he bragged about the incident. to her in profane and angry text messages hopefully she kept those. several months later he begged her forgiveness so she goes back to training him this is her story now. and she agreed to go back in training them and then she said he cornered her Forster down into a bed pushed her face into the mattress and forcibly raped her. no she didn't this is not a a criminal charge she's flying is filing a civil lawsuit against him was there ever a criminal charge against him she never reported to the police as far as we know she did say she told her mother about this when it happened I hope she's got some details if she's going to be there for all the details I think in this case I mean we we've seen over the course of time specially since Roger Goodell's become commissioner the league does not leak need to have any sort of legal. case against a player to act. and make a decision to take that player off the field so I I think the league now he's caught in a really difficult position here and I'll tell you something else I I think the patriots it you know bill Belichick has to make a decision I guess Robert Kraft ultimately Bella check will be very much involved in this I mean. do we really want to play this thing out we want this guy to go out this weekend represent our team do what we want to bring him in for a locker room he's at practice today I would not be surprised at all within the next forty eight hours or so the patriots release Antonio brown I I just you know it's not you know they they played well against the Steelers not say the brown is a great player because he is he's proven that but how much of the scrutiny do you really want to put up with how long would this process go it does it impact your team what they're trying to accomplish in a negative way simply because it's a circus every single day of the year with this guy major distraction you know that that's all all the reporters in the wings and want to talk to him yeah or the culture what's going on with a beep major distraction yeah here's the other side of the Dave of brown's attorney release issued a statement late last night adamantly denying the allegations claim she only filed the suit to punish him for refusing to invest one point six million in a business project she had in two thousand seventeen he said there was a a consensual personal relationship between the two big knowledge the. but she came to his home on multiple occasions including a late night visit ten days after the alleged rape he's saying that she came over to his house and he said that any sexual interaction with Mister brown was entirely consensual. he also said she had about four tickets to Steelers game this is after all the sub supposedly happened and has continued to post pictures with a B. on her social media. so they're saying this is totally false that they did have a relationship though they're both but it was consensual so you think that both of them are going to have to prove their side of text messages and yeah I hope she's got proof I hope she does. because otherwise you don't know who to believe.
