"That made in twenty open. And and i suppose maiden twenty s at monmouth are about equivalent. Then maybe even a touch then probably close probably close to new york bred forties right maiden open company made twenty s. it's probably close anyway He get jose luis. Cano and farren. Peterson road last time. Luciano probably probably an upgrade. I not to take a. I'm not trying to take a shot at ferret but I thought oprah d at twelve to one was very competitive in here. And not the only one i picked the jimmy bond and i don't think probably come down from that six to one a couple of couple of ticks Stella marsden social world absolutely the logical three two one seven to two but beyond oberlin as in a the one in three. We should know you got to i. There's here tom. Morley has got path less taken. This is a bellamy road. Philly morley three firs last eight debut in medan claiming company and carlos martin with the exact. Change the central banker philly He's a for his last six. So you got strong positive. Our allies on on both i or stats and i think either one of them. I mean it's not like anybody in here is so scary That if a i r comes out running then i'm going to give you one one more horse i used as a b. That's the eleven. New york's supreme. This is a bit of a morning. Glory as the worst that is as shown best Working and the clockers lover and and she always seems to to fire in the morning. She has to translated into the afternoons. She's been away a long time but with some maturity she's a four year old facing you know a lot of three year olds that's Up she's giving five pounds away but There's some things to like including Ricardo santana junior. Who can motivate a horse. Hasn't been seen since last year so with those workouts underneath. Maybe she's improved now a forty. That's a possibility and Just natural improvement from three to four might be enough And and when she left he looked at her competitively she. She is going to have to improve a handful lancs. But i can tell you that constitutions from you know as they mature they they improve and and their their figures just a natural improvement should make her competitive. So i thought this was a very treacherous in my right up festival. The six sources is a little table to that Fifteen shell devon's always scary Seem to improve a little bit last time with the going to a sprint. On the turf in dropping in for a tag that was again arguably the best race yet so now cutting back even a little further and what that went under the belt to make a case. There is one of those races the way you kind of want the data wind up so the get outrace gives you a chance to to maybe make a little money and have a little fun certainly if you have a price and pick that will do it but even if you with that only this last race i think he can play around. Have a little fun in the tenth day. I do want to mention At my right up is at the website Got it up. Put it up over there. Early do i mentioned this morning. Doing the the play of the day that the paula play the day On capitol tb. We're going to have a couple of strong favorites in the to maiden specials. The fifth that hope over fear for chad brown or for bill maher. I should say matas got a positive. Roi viewing horses a mile and beyond that is notable the daham actually a turkey and That is a positive and is showing some morning ability show hitting at some at some talent hope over fear twelve one and so i would be very conscious expand the map. Certainly the clara vich. Irish chad Rudder looks well prepared doubt and there's also Hail to we should know woods lane farm and tom albertrani debut in this one. This is out of dynair Sadler's joy and and family So plenty of pedigree. There clermont's got a pair. They both seen just okay. pizza bianca and I forget the other one Is a second one on the inside valley bell. They'd been working together and neither of them seem particularly ripe with talent. And i made my depalma play. This dairy name The three in the sixth race who just does seem for clermont to be working ready to fire and comes out of the steak winning turf. Sprinting mare the heart spun. Airport mcghee That water waterville campaigned. And you know a quality road out of a state winning mare Kind of kind of has it over the rest of this field state rats and you get rosario yet and i will that You had the the nice lead into your played they were. You said how you were going to formulate it. And i think you you made the right call in that play the day you can go a lot of different ways you can go with most likely winner or find some value and you said mostly you're going to try to find those sources that may be kind of float under the radar finds something a little bit but maybe it is is not on the page and add some value. Did a great job opening day with a nice price. And i think that's what people like with that whole play the day concept to find them something that they can come over here and have some fun with you. Know i it to me it. It'll this may be the only maiden race. I use all year just because this one on paper really seemed to stand out. I mean if you don't typically make a best bat ever it's a dangerous proposition. That do it all the time. Well really all the time. I don't know all the time. But i i done it frequently. I see see. I like a lot of people. Don't i like the two year old races up reading. And and so i think if you can find something a little bit clever i'll i will jump in and take the shop though as best bet with those. But i totally get where you you're coming. It is a little bit dicey than obviously going with the horse that has more form and some.

"You know how excited i was here. Bobby i get to see raging bull. Install one alexandra in seoul to. She's pregnant by the way. She scratched out of the jaipur. I don't think they gave an official reason. I'll tell you i believe it was because of all the moisture in the ground she's going to stretch out though To a mile she hasn't run a mile in at least two years She has one mile race on the court. She does love belmont pucks. Perfect three for three at belmont including beating the boys in that grade one jaipur last year gets smoking comes in off a gate to wire win the seek again. He's won three times at belmont park. Including the great to hill sprints last fall front run. The fed trust stretches back out another one for chad brown fundraiser. To tell you. Daddy's to bang-up races for tom morley off the claim should be a fun renewal of the poker all eyes on the big horse though reasonable and simply put if raging bull comes to play. Then they're running for second because his good races are better than anyone in this field can handle and one of his good races was last time out in the grade. One maker's mark mile at keeneland Of course that he really loves. He proved that he's still can do it as a six year old. He proved that he can do it. Running without lasix. That was his first. Start without the medication lasix. At least in a long long time and it was it was really as good as any races run. I guess the biggest question. I have for raging bull is. Will he repeat that race now. He ran a big race off the layoff last year in the maker's mark mile Arguably or not. I'm sorry in the shoemaker mile at santa anita and i'm not one hundred percent sure ran as well the rest of the year. He didn't run poorly. That's for sure But that may have been his best so question is will. He won another big race After that big effort and the maker's mark One win one second. One third from four career starts at belmont. he's had excuses in some of the races. One of them you can see on the page. He had the misfortune of running against stablemate bricks and mortar bricks and mortar bricks and mortar back in twenty nineteen going a mile and a quarter and raging bulls. Never never gonna win at a mile and a quarter against bricks and mortar So i think he had a little bit of an excuse that afternoon one this mile though right up his alley there is plenty of speed in the race jet. Smoking is very fast raised. Looks like he's got some speed even front run. The fed figures to be forwardly placed if i rat ortiz can just work at a decent trip on raging bull. He's probably gonna win and he certainly seems to be in the right hands the do that. I want to tell you the other horse. I'm singling raging bull and everything on sunday. I'll tell you the other horse i think. Tell your daddy who's worked out a couple of really good trips going seven mile and then he got a half length. Akasa creed just missed last time to get smokin He's i want him. I liked his mile race last time. I mean i don't think he'd be reading bull but This was has been consistent. It's too stocks for tom. They've clearly been the two best efforts of his life I wanna mess with him a little bit in the exactness. Try and get him. Second kendrick musto on the sidelines. Lewisite is more than capable replacement. I'm gonna play at one eight. I don't play pretty strongly as well. Race number nine on sunday. Great three poker at belmont park down the shore monmouth gray three eaten town for the phillies. And mayor's going around sixteenth. little goes race. Eleven on the father's descartes A field fulfilled them here of twelve somme's multiple stakes winners in here. This is a fun fun race for a grade. Three my friend. It's a fun race in it's race where you're seeing some very talented runners who are going to be ridden by noose. New faces to them For the first time. I'm going to stick with the chad brown born number six. Nee lady i think. She's the most talented in the field. She's also undefeated two for two at monmouth park simply put i think she's been facing strong competition than what she's going to see on sunday. Last time out in the boat game behind harvey's low oil and lamiste i think both of those Phillies would be dominant and heavy favorites in this race She wasn't far behind silver civil union. My sister nat in the flower bowl. back in october so her good races maker the one to beat. I really had a toss up between her and number nine sweet by and by who Very rarely runs a poor race. To be perfectly honest. The writer change on sweet by and by is such a difference that that was the determining factor for me It's not so much. That i'm downplaying. Ruben silveira it's that iran ortiz to most people is a negative writer switch and that was just a tipping point. I would use both of them. Nee lady and sweet by and by in my place. But i'm gonna put me on top of time with his thing. They has to be on. All your tickets dylan davis going in. I made her my top pick but other one from chad counterparty risk. She's run pretty well this year. i don't think she appreciated the given the ground in the of grace last time I think she got a great ride in the hillsborough. I would use her a little bit. I would you speak to me. If some of the crease lamont Diaz riding well at monmouth. I think she'll be okay as well. And i won't be surprised if vigilantes way ran another. Good one it's wide open sweet by by she tied up. She missed a couple of races. During the belmont stakes racing festival the intercontinental in just a game tied up good to see her back in the entry. She always shows up. Like bobby said she really. There's one blemish on her card in the last two years on the turf always shows up with a big effort The rider turns me off though and xanthi from man. Tom walley great claim. She's a multiple stakes winner. Should beat crystal cliff. Vigilantes way last time. I would use her as well. I'm with bobby with lady name. Leanne is i mean. Michele leans best race would bury. These horses She was terrible last time in that jenny wiley though and i worry about the lease being a factor with her she did not run well off the lisa last time. So that's something. I would want to take a look at It'd may speak to me to summer speaking of some of my top To to focus on in race eleven. Great three eaten town up at woodmen. We got to be on sunday and trained robert tiller gonna join the equine form as well. He has the one and only pink. Floyd what a coors pink loaded cease four to five on the morning line to take the cartier for the second consecutive third consecutive year. It looks what a cool horse. He is great three at six furlongs on the all weather just a field of six they actually got five braids brave souls to try the king of woodbine. Well the king one by is coming off a defeat in the kennedy road in his last start that was in november He looks like he's working well for his return. He's a nine year old as you mentioned. And he's a logical one to beat. He's another one getting a different rider this afternoon. He's getting a rider that rides regularly at woodbine but since he rides regularly at woodbine and nowhere else he only has ten ten mounts for the entire twenty twenty one season. And he's going from two of the top yuriko silva and rafael hernandez in his last his most recent jacks to fukumoto hernandez injured. Recently up at would mine I think that if you're going to try to beat pink. Floyd this may be the spot to try to beat them. Horse finished in front of him in the kennedy road is back against him today..

"Involved in here and That that's a pretty nice group. Look forward to that. There's an interesting maiden race going on the grass as well at santa anita saturday. There's a smaller group in the angels flight That they only they only got four but they went ahead and cart it and it happens to be a very nice looking for including richard mandella. Who has got a barn full of nice horses. And he's got to in here. He's got that astute. Who's cutting back from the starlet. Where she kinda stubbed her toe and sorta demonstrated that she may be much better off at least for now. One turning so stewart makes her three year old debut in this spot and richards also got missy p The intimacy jeff spendthrift who was a very flashy debut winner in march baffert scott heels up who looks a cut the low. She's cutting back though on the sprint side. And keep the sonos got a first outwit. Or actually gary youngest. I luck in here. He is casey. You might be on the phone with casey gary young the decided to come and join us. That's great So the Angel flight gary. we'll get. We'll get an early opinion on a race in california. Who go figure right. That's pretty funny. That i was talking about that. I did not expect you in person. But i'm glad you're here. This this is. I know only got four horses. But that's a nice. The nice phillies here. Yeah yeah i mean both both mandela phillies. Have always always trained like the real deal and I think You know heels off is probably gonna be better around one turn into but i still think it's a man. Del exact in this race and these two phillies could definitely be a. This isn't a great at stake. But they could be on their way to grade one stakes somewhere down the line and even baffert's philly turning back to one turn. Probably that's what she wants. I would think so. Yes so and since i handed it to you The senior rita's on the front page. There if you turn that around. That's a nice group to eleven phillies. It is i mean I've been out of town for a long time. So i've missed a lot of work but madan last year was she was definitely Definitely very nice. Nimbus stratus the jury's still out on whether she really wants to go mile she ran good. Second madan inner inner. Us debut but since then it might look like she's a little bit better around one turn Closing remarks as good looking philly. I mean one of the cal taken on open. But she's done okay in china doll and pro providencia You know tetyana a tetra. Gonnell Definitely good second timothy coming off a layoff I've always been in my own fan. I i i would From that post position callahan's definitely capable of firing off a layoff. I would I would probably make her my top choice in there. Yes very nice. Well there you go you got the you got some Santa anita saturday insights New york good news yesterday. I know people aren't fully satisfied with the way they're going to handle it but Belmont and nyra opening up to fans there's going to be several procedures will worry about that next week in discussion. I'm not i'm not gonna involve ourselves on that deal for now speaking of belmont the west on saturday and The fort marcy Ask tom morley about the fort. Marcy when you get a chance. Gary and It i i think he's might still have a might still have a rabbi on his forehead sheeps at bay as well on On saturday around so long. I remember when fort marcy was running. I mean he was he was he was the king of the turf forces for some years back when it was a very strong division. Well and you know the the turf program. New york in new york was was ahead of the curve In in terms of and part of that was having the luxury of of the two turf courses at belmont the to turf forces at at Saratoga as we say all the time american turf racing begins with roundtable does it does in And eighty days. It begins chad brown. It very much so I brought up Going to talk about it with marcus hirsch but the your chicago native correct yes. What's your feeling with this with arlington. And and how. This is turning out if you would've told me when i was a kid growing up that One day there would be you know there would be one race track in chicago. Land and would be hawthorne. I would've told you that you know wasn't that's absolutely an impossibility. But you know. I hope it doesn't happen It's a very concerning situation. It is i mean You know for years of a story illinois tracks and now it might be one For years there were three florida tracks. Now is one I know it's a changing business. And i try not to live in the past but It was pretty concerning that You know that these circuits are down to one track. I mean one of the things that kept florida especially because it was going year round was the changing venues. You know You know no matter No matter how nice a race track is you got to switch it up to you. Don't wanna be twelve months a year At the same track. I mean the track surface deter of courses. They need brakes. And yep you know. Players players need a break The hammer talked about this forever. it's one is and also the The willingness to take time off between meets the. You don't have to finish one. Meet on sunday and open the on monday tuesday wednesday. The next meet you. Can you can take seven to ten days and let the horses refresh. Let everybody refresh and get and you know get going. I mean taking time between isn't gonna kill anybody i Obviously i've been based out in southern california for years and You know our horse population and our field size issues are well documented. And i've been pretty vocal in years. That i think that Tour a two or three week break after the santa anita derby or three week break between the opening of del mar and two or three week break between the opening of the big meet at santa anita on december. Twenty six would be the best thing for the california racing program. You know for the people that do you know that liked to bed every day and have action. there's simulcasting world. Of course there's other exactly. It's not like they can't have action but You know so far. There's been a little progress but probably looking at the field size. Not enough In addition i've already mentioned. The oaklawn stake that closes out the meat in hot springs. Gary revealed to us this morning. He's never been to hot springs he's never been to ocean port and he's never been to to the fairgrounds so that's going to be my mission in life to get him at those three Venues and i'm going to guess you haven't been the middleburg for the temple. Guatemala haven't been there either. Apple guava me on saturday. Folks as joe clancy told you yesterday. The first grade at stake on the steeplechase circuit gary young with us and final thoughts gary. Let's start with tomorrow's action and The way the phillies come in to the oaks I've always been one to look for some value in the race but I've been very very impressed by malik at all week. we barbecue. Last sunday at mr jain nichols house and You know the the wag meat was very very good as well..

Everything you hear is run from their so-called two mikes so this i bought new. This one is When i was recording in West why studios. Clive langer madness Also working with david bowie was in the stadium next door on hand. Claps around this mike. I swapped fifty. This is my day. We bury my Which is kind of talisman loving nine drops here. Yeah yeah yeah yeah you know you know you go to tell the story so how you going to cope coming out of your little cocoon when we start going during live acts. I think you put something on facebook yesterday. That you've actually been booked to go somewhere else in the world. How how are you going to go back into the real world. It's really tough because In a way this this whole year is light. The technologies co. up with my imagination or and i always wanted to do stuff like this and actually i wanted to do on stage. I'd love to have a father holding his dorm states and brought my door with me to the conference because she missed me so much. When i go. I can't do that. So there's a law of the advantages. I've had working this way. I mean first of all and everybody. It works online. We'll say we have more time all that easy. Glamorous gaining combination. Yeah yeah no. It isn't clamorous is boring. They're breaking down silos but that is simple but the the more you know the depot bit for me is bringing them from here to here into the heart because everybody has values but they they don't live by the values as the first thing they think about in the morning they might do in the values session. You values one without love family ambition. Ambition is not valley. After nor success may be living up to what i believe. I want for the world can be can lead to success. Will that can fulfill number. But deep dan you might want social justice. We might want you know families a big one. I'd say conferences. I'll tell you one thing about that is that Everybody misses their families at conferences. You seem the garlic dinner as golders. She liked but people are missing putting their kids to bed online. They're not doing that. You can have a global conference and the kids get involved. They come downs other all the time on. This amazing thing is where i grew on holiday. One and you get holiday gear. Hats gogel shades. You know and people bringing suntan lotion to the screen right. We have thirty people on the screen. I'm one father at this conference. His daughter came and said what are you doing ten all of that and she was doing the cruel right. What we goggles on While he was holding her this shifts swimming towards this great. So i said okay everybody bulte. Let's do the cruel so suddenly all these corporate people are two in cruel triggered by this young girl who would have been and normally conference will be hang in bed with daddy wasn't any so we're we're in the middle of a massive shift We have enormous advantages to working line. "Well there's The theory that my life doing alessi's storyteller told me about that. We're all born with a wild twin. And um the and as children the well twin done get lot. Praise ready to get off the tension. It says stop sit down. Stop doing that other domes down rip that apart. Whatever is so the wild twain guz Not really a big role for him. Meanwhile the sensible twins getting homework on time taught in the bedroom all that steaks. We have two things off however the well tuned dwindle has its own adventures in the world. Now as we get older. The sensible twin does joke that you know that. Cv to get any job at once. All that stuff does actually with born this of go got the call the expense go so they ready in a that wild twin. You know we say if you want to invite the wild twin back in your life right. You can't just send them an email so of growing up now a lot. Hugh come join me. You have to stop behaving in a way that they think he or she isn't so boring after all so so consequently that just ready to play is the easiest job in you kitchen where you guys have to one two three hit. Somethin' lie here and then after organize my bit turns into a group. They're ready. it's done. Tell anybody but this is the easy joke. Because i don't have competition. Everyone thinks it's so difficult. It's really really easy. It's much easier than doing something now. We're not seen if you and your work. It makes sense because it most of these conferences. And i present on normal the canine boring us talking about facts and figures in the future and then along comes this drummer. And it's going on. Everyone's going to remember the drummer. Not may your. Your job was pretty pretty easy because it's so different. What what do you think they. The doing of the wild child is coming out. But why do you think that's so successful in getting people out there and and what are you teaching them. What are they leaving your session with. The they'll do differently to what is so funny to me. I follow quite a lot speakers who say Don't give up on your dreams but the thing is is about giving up plenty train. It's the most people. Those conferences have given up on their dreams. Otherwise won't be sitting there. So you cannot say legitimately to those people. Don't give up on your teenage drinks too late to be an athlete too late to be all the things they wanted to. They can have new dreams. So i think that's a much better message while you're here in new dream and don't give up on that within the context the analogy. Because i personally i think he's being disingenuous. Never say that that whole. Don't give up when you dreams thing. But i say let's kinda activate a new dream with.

It'll ended up in disaster but It was it was great well because life is you pretty soon. If you engage with life under percent. I've got this thing because it's so that's what what's been like ever since. So how did you move from being in a will nine band to then doing the coporate stuff. Because that's a huge shift on not having seen loving musicians do that successfully. But what was the impetus and handed you start sort of shitting your onstage persona in a rock band and then gone talk to culprits about collaboration in working in teams and being synchronized nice little things being the tremor in the pan is about collaboration in sync. And look you know always looking after everybody in the band and then the audience you know. It's not just tapping along in the background. So in that way it was quite an easy change the actual mechanics of it and this is always advisable to everybody in the music. Business is be successful and then have nervous breakdown so i saw looking at the list down. The success go then got back kit. Iran loves me is trying to break dance. So that's what i did. And in that time i couldn't listen to music anymore. Couldn't i mean. I really went for in a big way. Couldn't even get in an alibi or a lift a take the stairs. If there's music in it so go quite fit right now and then. I was on a retreat in front silent retreat to get away from everything says in in the door and i didn't know i thought just booked up for some time away but put to that. It was three weeks that we're doing something cool. And enlightenment intensive aunt. I wouldn't wired about being like dogs. A marxist strikes anyway so ended up with this in a sweat lodge six. Serendipitous with some music says there are was from zero to hero. I was so i saw. Well there's some in this the this music thing who's like the groove returned to me and i returned to the group so when i go home up these drums. Those haven't seen what you do with corporates. "This is about power. Bloomberg television and radio. I'm David Western. Yesterday, President Trump announced new sanctions on China. This is in retaliation for what China is doing and cracking down in Hong Kong. Welcome now, our colleague Tom Orlich really is authority in China has lived in Beijing for quite a few years and has written a terrific book. A terrific book, China the bubble that never pops. So, Tom, Thanks so much for being with us. Give us a sense of how important or relatively not so important. This new round of sanctions are Of Great back, David. Thanks for having me on. So what we've seen is the U. S moving sanction China over the national security law in home, Cole and what they're essentially doing is removing the special status which Hong Kong enjoyed a semi autonomous Part of China, and that's gonna have implications for exports. It's goingto have implications for visas. The students, the details are still a little bit murky. They were waiting to see what exactly they look like. But the broader picture here is from Hong Kong to Xin Jiang. To the side China Sea Haraway relations between China and the U. S continues to deteriorate. It was noteworthy, at least to me, Tom. A wonderful was to you that yesterday when the president talked about this in the Rose Garden usually talks about Chinese tux. Well, I still have a good relationship with President Ji. I didn't hear that yesterday. I didn't hear we're in really good terms together. It seems almost beginning personal at the same time. Our economic sanctions. Gonna make any difference to President XI into China because they perceive Hong Kong is existential. From their point of view, don't they? Yeah, I think that's right. So for the last few years, we've seen really aggressive move by the US against China terrorist imposed on millions of dollars of goods. Sanctions on some of the most important Chinese technology companies. But the whole time President Trump has been consistent in thanking has a good relationship with President she doesn't blame President Xi on bats left the door open for a kind of a friendly resolution, right? Now. He didn't mention President Xi in his remarks yesterday. Maybe that points to a heartening of relation of the relationship that door to kind of like a top level manual. Man of solution was too strong Men. That time maybe is creaking closed. Now, in terms of the the economic impact, I think one thing to keep in mind is that even as relations deteriorate across across the whole suite of issues, most of the moves so far a pretty symbolic right We've got sanctions against specific officials. You can come to America. You can't have assets in America. We've got the removal of Hoke hold special status that Hong Kong was not really significant to the larger Chinese economy. The trajectory is certainly negative. But in terms of the substance, I don't think there's a huge amount of substance in the latest moves, and that's why the market reaction so far has been quite meted. It's fascinating at the same time, what is left of President She's one belt one road initiative. I mean, there was a time to three years ago, and this is a major strategic initiative for him. And I hear now reports that a lot of the people who are partners with him in this are not liking very much the way China's handling that. So when President she came into power, there was a change in tone in in terms of China's relation with world from Deng Xiaoping on China has this policy of kind of quiet development. Right. Let's develop one that's not shaped debate it. Let's not proclaim our arrival as a global power. Under siege in paying. That changed on the Melton Road Initiative on the China 2025 initiative, which was about industrial policy, 1/9 China's arrival as a global power now To be frank. This has no been a PR success for China. It caught the attention of the world in a really negative way. And as a consequence, we now have a U. S. A Europe and Australia, which is much more cautious in managing the China relationship. Roosevelt Road strategy continues, but we don't have China talking about it so much because making a big noise about it turned out to have some negative consequences. The Beijing Okay. Tom was a great treat to have you with us. As our colleague Tom Morley, who once again has written a terrific book, China.

"And we are definitely a lot of the world this week in the currency our upcoming issue I should say and it's wild speak and it's wild this story by the way too among our most read and all that tracking the forces that threaten the world's hottest economy it's all part of the new economy issue of the magazine I'll be out later this week it also keeps up the good work new economy form which will happen in a few weeks in Beijing let's get into it two individuals who will be their time or like he is chief economist of labor economics joining us from our not in one studio in the nation's capital Jill Weber with us Bloomberg businessweek editor with us as well in our bluebird interactive brokers studio in New York so let's talk a little bit about the issue overall because I do think I love the stories there really does cast a global perspective in this story in particular really might surprise you in terms of some of the findings yes we we train I have a slightly different look and feel with this issue then we do it any other moment in the air and and part of that just speaks to the events and and this issue comes out now but the event isn't for a couple more weeks so we kind of treat this is almost like a curtain raiser for everything and it's a way of kind of like looking at the world through a slightly different window that I think we usually look at which is basically like what the future of the world's going to look like we look at where growth is going to come from and and you know the the Tom or like production the drivers and destruction disruptors really speaks to this and we kind of use that as our tree chapter in the book and we have different chapters and with a good governance and of fertility of all things yeah you know immigration so we tried to take some of these biggest teams that are really easy Casey and look at them sort of through a unique kind of a business we cleanse Tom's obviously got trade her covered but some of these other ones you know it's this great little mix of you look at some charts that are compelling next to as told to with characters next to doubt of it it's a it's a it's like really this arch Ponge that gives you an appreciation for what the future's really can only yeah so Tom you in addition to kind of like looking at the future looks like you actually wrestled with the here and the now I guess what what was the where did the the the the the inspiration for the drivers and the destructors idea come from so the the big idea for a stroll and this is in part part of the big idea behind the new economy for was a whole is the idea that the forces which is driving growth at a national and global level of night changed and what that means is that the economy is looking to succeed looking to prosper what drives competitiveness of loss has also changed so there's a lot of indexes site that which look at how much are India countries doing high skilled its work force saw high much higher quality infrastructure it has all of these things are important and that part of our drivers and disrupt his index but what we also trying to do but I think makes us unique is we're trying to gauge the competitiveness of economies in the face of some of the really big challenges which are going to be facing the global economy in the next ten to twenty years protectionism the rise of the robots the rise of the digital economy climate change and of course populism which is disrupting the way government is done around the world so one of the things that I found surprising Tom when you when you've put this ranking which you know comes at the end of the story and you have to have the show more to get to the United States what's going on with United States so one of the really interesting things about what's going on in the US right now is that this is a real sense of geo political rivalry the US versus China who's going to own the global economy in the twenty first century and the US is coming at this rivalry through the lens all of the trade will let's have a trade war with China we don't want to but we have to and if we win that trade war then everything will be okay and will be in control of the global economy for the next hundred years the weight China is thinking by this is oh my goodness we've got this trade but we have to deal with it but at the same time we've got our domestic development strategy so what you're saying trying to do is continue investing in the skills of their work force continue investing in a research and development program continue improving the infrastructure and that's why in our index one of the strange things and what you're alluding to that Jill is that on the drives of growth China is actually showing up is higher than the United States significantly higher so in in thirty seconds Sweden number one when it comes to drivers why say the Scandinavian countries are getting a lot right they have high levels of education they invest in innovation they have efficient governments they all open to trade and open to balance trade in a way which doesn't invite a protectionist response that's why you're seeing countries like Sweden Denmark Norway right perform in our index right well it's really good it's one of those things where you can go online and just lose yourself in for whites are going down these little rabbit holes understand what's underneath it all great visualisations yes sex compliment indexes that Tom and company meetings it's incredible it's really smart check it out online catching up is hard to harass you for differ nations that that's not enough was hard to do catching up even harder Tom Morley chief.

"When you get. I mean, it's like for me. I had where I Rick doesn't remember? But I met wreck when I had have you gone away. Before which is that's another kind of a little niche thing that I do I will buy horses like that that she was a listed stakes winner. And Tom Morley has been a friend of mine for many years. I met him when he was with darling flying start, and I gave him to her and our gave her to him. So that was, but those kinda stories are what I think makes our business, you know, very personal very emotional. And you know, then we just have to weigh the economics of it. You know, I put up as we were talking earlier I put up speed dating on. On your on the screen and just looking down near and dear is is MRs Neilson. And and that's this is max is sister. Yes. Yeah. About that. It's true. And you know, obviously that race yesterday is is a good indicator of where she can run with the big girl. So it was really exciting. Same question. We asked Kelly Breen terms of some of the some of the new crop new sire type stallions what who's caught your eye here early as the two year old in training sale. Sees starts. You know? Until we get to the sale. I always say to everybody at our first year are for sale, I always say happy new year because for us. This is this is our new year, and we start our year here. And so if I have not I am somewhat of a booty trainer that I trained for the same people I've trained for for years, and then of course, by partnerships in my own stuff. So any horse that I am selling is a horse that I have had I don't have outside oversses. So I am far as you know, watching the bridge show, which I can't consistently watch. I go back and forth. But I do have, you know, I know he's the buzz horse, but I do have to American Farrow's one in the sale and one in the April sale, which I think are very very nice sources the one in the sale went ten flat that really I don't he's he's not a sprinter. He just is a really. Efficient mover. So getting down to the basics. For me. I'm learning as I was talking before you got here about this is kind of a new world for me that I'm enjoying get. You know, learning when it comes down to someone such as yourself how how to use his side which sale I mean, obviously how far along they are. That's that goes without saying, but they have some maybe I'll take him into March. They all you know, maybe I'll wait for this one for April. Is there a big difference? Or how do you decide what you know? That's best for you. And your clients where to sell them and win. A really big difference. And because I know each of my horses enter Kelly because I've had them all along I try to put the more precocious horses earlier, and then horses that are not as precocious I try to put them. I mean, April of ES has become the go-to sale for. Really? I mean, I April is proven that you can sell a good horse anywhere. I mean, facet Tipton is considered. An will. I don't see that changing our premier two year old and training sales. Start our season off and is much as I would like to say that we've been able to create a buyer base for a less than top in horse with there's I think it's very difficult and that sale when people are expecting the very very best to create a market for a thirty forty thousand dollar horse. And so it's not economically feasible for us to be able to go there..
