"The 5 former Memphis police officers charged with murder in the death of Tyree Nichols was accused of brutality in his former job as a prison guard. Officer Demetrius Haley, who pulled Nichols out of his car last month, was the subject of a letter signed by 34 inmates in the Shelby county prison. It's not known if he was disciplined. There was a tribute to Tyree Nichols on Friday at Tom Lee park on the banks of the Mississippi River, a Canopy was erected named in his honor and his stepfather Rodney wells said he would love this. It's nothing he likes more than watching that sunset on the Mississippi. Police in Minnesota say they do not have a motive for why one teenager stabbed another to death in a high school Friday. Staff at Harding high school in St. Paul rushed to help the wounded 15 year old. They had the suspect in custody entry through door one. Dispatchers sending first responders to the scene via broadcasted dot com. He later died at a hospital, a 16 year old's in custody, says St. Paul police sergeant Mike ernster. Chris listening to us on kw our flagship station. Chris, what's on your mind today? Thank you for taking my call, Todd. I just wanted to point out in your old assertion about crime. You also have a problem. It's not just the city councils. It's not just the mayor and things like that. It's your district attorney. It's your attorney for the region. Also these weak prosecutors and the week very, very weak prosecuting attorney. You got to throw the gauntlet down at some point. So the responsibility is also in those people to go to the state and say, look, you have relaxed crime legislation. We want to make it harder. You need your DA and your prosecutors and people like that to step up to the state and say, we want harsher penalty. Whatever happened to three strikes you're out. So it's not, you know, you really got to look at the people that are in play. And that includes your district attorneys and your regional attorneys and like I said, prosecutors and judges. I mean, this thing of slapping people on the wrist. I mean, here in Shelby county, you know very well Todd. They don't even prosecute kids who are down at Tom Lee park a few years ago who were outright robbing people because they said, well, we don't want to clog up the juvenile system. No, I remember that. Yeah. Yeah, I remember that, Chris, and I'm curious as a citizen here. I mean, look, if I were a member of the black community, I would be enraged because overwhelmingly, this is a black on black crime issue, and it is, I mean, it is dangerous in the city for everybody, but especially the black community. Yes, sir, absolutely. And that's why I'm saying, you know, I really put a lot of blame on people that have the ability to go to the state, the DA, the attorneys for the region and the judges who could say, look, we got to stop this rolling in and roll them out. How do you commit an armed robbery and you turn around and you're out in 30 days? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, we're done with that. And so that's where a lot of the power lies is in those people. And so we've got to require them to be harsher, not just your city council and your mayor, but look at all the attorneys and the people that are in the prosecute in the prosecution that are involved who could demand harsher pen. And Chris and we got to run here for the top of the hour break, but I will say this, watching that city council in action, that tells me that people are not engaged in this community. There's no way half the people up there on that platform should be anywhere near an elected office. And that tells me that we're not sending the best and the brightest to city hall, and that's happening all over America. I mean, look at the guy that burned down the fox Christmas tree. The guy just been let out of jail. The guy's got a ramp sheet a mile long. Unbelievable. Folks got to take a break here. A lot more coming up senator Marcia Blackburn Trish Regan. But i think it happened. I won't go. Because i don't have ten thousand dollars to set up in a in a five by five booth but i will Love to one day. Have you not been approached to be a hired gun. It will not be happening in any form or fashion. it will be canceled for. Its second year and you can take all of your two hundred dollars straight to the bank and collect after you pass go. It is not hap- next year full-blown memphis in may the likes. You've never seen it before this year. Not a chance in hell not a snowball's chance in hell book. I thought it wasn't a six hundred dollar number. But now don't quote i want to say i wanna say it's all of six hundred. It's probably all in after travel and so forth it's probably gonna be closer to fifteen or sixteen hundred bucks. That sound right. Does that does that. High does i think is six hundred and some for the actual of conference event not including hotel travel. Yeah wow and how many days does the event. I'll just give you a number of the travel. Let's say forward. Let's say in. Let's say it's an arrival day. And then you have three days of expo and then you can either leave on that third day in the evening or you stay one more night and then leave out the next day you gotta budget fifteen hundred for your travel. That'd be the budget design is a travel person. Fifty hundred travel hotel. Okay for the travel. You're coming on right but you're talking about amax airline tickets so give yourself a budget of seven hundred bucks and i one but that's fifty your hotel taxes. Taxis stuff like that where you're going to be a six hundred plus six hundred fifty or whatever. It is that all right. How how how's that grabbing you now rusty. I don't that's fine. Pay a lot more sausage for a day. Rust is running rich bitch. That's right. i'm rich my white. I don't do it all right. We've heard this being bantered about here over the last month or so you've taken some sear stakes to task however you have also made a note that you are getting other names involved so please give us some background on what the fear revolution is going to look like in your mind and how you're going to be able to expand. I can't even believe we're going to say this. Expand the revolution of. Why is it going to take a foothold. So it's going to happen. You know if you guys so db one.
