"And he's done that perfectly. He's really a star and as we talked about, he's got this unique potential to break out as a superstar in the U.S. and be really the first Asian male golfer to do that because of how well he speaks English because of how funny he is because of how passionate he is. And he's here and he's here to stay. He's got the right party. First party ever. I'll never forget that. Frankie hit him with the likes. So you've never been to a gathering of multiple human beings to celebrate something. He goes, nope. Nope. Anything, nothing. It was a really good definition of a party. You pulled that out of your ass really quickly. It was impressive. Well, yeah, I'm just a party could be 5 people sitting around a cake with a little candle in it. Right. He's never even seen never stumbled upon a party and like, oh, I'm at a party now. No. Didn't happen. Or he does this a restaurant. They go, a party of four. He goes, I don't even know what that is. I don't know what you're talking about. I can't be a part of that. Can't be a part of that. I like how excited he is. And that's like, that he adores himself to the masses when he does the poster and interviews is like, I'm 20, and I'm on the PJ tour and I'm winning. I think he said he feels like he's a Disneyland. He's just like, I am having a great time. Yeah, and that's the right attitude. Some guys who would have this type of success would just be like, yeah, you know, this is, I mean, I'm meant to be here. I am playing the way I should be. I'm on the PGA Tour, whatever. He's just like, this is amazing. I do feel like I should be here, but I'm gonna soak up every second of it. And yeah, Tom Kim is a budding superstar. I'm having fun playing on the PGA Tour. It's awesome. It's a great line. Great line. When we talk to them too, it was very clear that he's 20 years old, you know? Like, some guys you talk to them and they're 20 going on 35. Morikawa is another guy who's kind of like that. One of these guys who's just been 32 their entire lives, but he's a kid. He never really went to school, he didn't go to college, you know, he's been playing golf his whole his whole life. So when you talk to him, it's very clear that he's 20 years old and that he's soaking in the moment, and it's refreshing to see that. I think you're right, Trent. I got that vibe from saw hit as well. He was a guy who's just like, oh man, what is he? 23, 24. Yeah, he's in there. Talking about having roommates like talking about playing video games like that's a young guy and those two guys are just like excited to be in the position that they're in and that is incredibly refreshing.

"Just see it guys coming out and they're just so ready like the games that games are far more advanced than mine was when I turned bro. So we obviously over here we were just rocking for the president's cup. Did you watch any of it? You catch any of it? Yeah, we watched quite a bit. Like obviously we never go to bed pretty early. So I was never making it so very close to the stages, but I really enjoyed it. I actually quite like that it goes on for longer, like it's four days. I quite like that. But I just thought it was a good president's copy. I had a great atmosphere to it and there was just a few, I suppose, any time in a team event, presidents could radical. There's always like stories that come out of it, but I just thought, there was a few good ones in this, and I enjoyed watching. For you guys, is like the, you know, European Ryder Cup group texts get popping off this time of year when you get the team atmosphere is going. No, it hasn't gone fully enough, but we had that one. We didn't have like a massive group chat last time. We had it on something else. But like no, I'm sure, I'm sure everybody's watching it, but then there's guys that are playing by those guys that are playing in Italy and France and stuff. And busy and then they'll be guys that have done it too, but it's nice to watch, isn't it? And then it brings back brings back a fire, it brings back memories. It brings back like motivation to make because I think the team still so cool like it's so so good in it like you see just different sides of people coming up slightly instructions with the crowds and stuff. It's so good to play in. But it's really good to watch as well.

"Right, folks, we're joined by a huge lightning rod in the game of golf over the last week and really this entire year, but especially the last week we got Tom Kim, it's now Tuesday morning, presidents cup finished up Sunday evening. How are we feeling? How's just kind of your general energy level and vibe right now? That's nice. I'm a little tired. I'm not going to lie. Lying down in bed is going to be the next schedule. So it's kind of nice. So you're in Dallas, are you living in Dallas these days? Tell us what it's been like since the last part of the president's cup. It looked like we saw some pictures of you guys kind of hung out with the American team walk us through the last 36 hours. So yeah, after Sunday, you know, obviously the internationals lost and it was, it would have been better if you won, but we still had a great time. We had a full party with the international team. And the U.S. team kind of joined us as well, but obviously sneak in U.S. team room, talk to the guys, congratulate the guys. They did the same thing, but it was a huge party for the whole team. And we had some fun. So I was out pretty late. It was my first official party. Ever. Ever. I didn't drink. I was hammered on water. Don't worry. Yeah, I would sit up pretty late. You know, cash is a flight and got, you know, came in Dallas. I'm still at an Airbnb, so I still have an officially moved in, but I'm moving in November, but I guess that's one of the problems with being very publicly 20 years old. Is that everyone was talking about how you're 20 all week. So if you were to drink a couple of guys would have been like, eh, this is a little

"The way I kind of conceptualize it is like, you know when you go into a Best Buy and they've got like the brand new TVs and you're like, holy shit, like that is so crisp and the color is so vibrant like I'm thinking that's what it's gonna look like for me. But I don't know. Yeah. I do think it's a big decision. It is a big decision, but I'm ready. With these big decisions, like sometimes it's just like a moment where you're like, all right, I'm ready. And I had that moment yesterday. It's like Trent and I just decide we're gonna get our eyes taped back and lasered off, so that's just a decision. And shave off some what do they do? I don't know. Are we actually doing it? Are we got a consultation or something? Yeah, I got to give the guy a date. I'm thinking it'll be in like November after we do all our stuff, 'cause I gotta go two weeks without wearing contacts and then we have to go in. And then like a couple days after you can't do anything, right? I'm assuming you have to take it easy, you're not gonna go out and fucking. I've done very limited research, but I've heard that they've gotten good enough at it where it's like 24 to 48. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, I think that's what we'll aim for early November. I gotta reach out to my guy, Brad, and then we'll see what's going on. I got big news. Kevin kisner just texted me. And he found out that he is 13th in the pip standings. And if he can get into the top ten, he would be very grateful of the foreplay golf podcast and it's large following. So I have a question, Dan, do we? Is social media not count this year? Does it? I don't think it's clear. I don't think it's like so should people just Google him? Like if all of our powers just Google Kevin kisner like a million times a day, will that help? I think that would probably help. Yeah. And I think if they maybe mention, I don't think it's like social media is definitely part of it, but it's not like its own category, but I also think the top 20 get paid out this year. So he's going to get money, it sounds like.

"This is as big a yeah, I mean, you know, the kid that Long Island we played on. Oh, we played at Glenn oaks, which is as elite of a golf course as you can possibly play at the place looks like fucking Augusta national. Honestly, if you just want to see what Glenn oaks looks like on drone and on our cool cameras, that's worth the click right there. I mean, it's a very exclusive golf course and I'm very happy and I think we should all be very proud that we were able to get onto that course and film it. I mean, I don't know how many people can do that. For sure. It is a prideful moment. But yeah, Craig over there, the super is just, he's disgustingly good at his job. He used to work at Augusta, and now he works at Glen oaks, so I mean, he's got that place completely dialed in. I mean, section two 21 row AC 5 and 6. I was sitting there for every single game for ten years from when I was 7 to 17. I mean, you're talking about the fact that I'm going to be out there with Matt barzel, Anders Lee Cal clutterbuck and Brock Nelson playing in a competition. Come on, man. That video is going to be insane to rewatch. I mean, Brendan's text me saying it's one of the funniest ones we've done just because these guys are their hockey guys number one, which always just delivers in the banter. And number two, they've played together their whole professional lives. Like Brock Nelson Andrews leave come up together. They've never been on other team. Barzel has never been on another team.

"He's only 20 years old. And that just seems like it's been very rare. It has been rare, and I think you always cringe when you say like, oh, the language barrier because you don't know if that's going to come off the wrong way, but it's just true, right? Hideki matsuyama is a massive massive star in Japan, like a enormous enormous star. Everywhere is all over billboards. I've been there. He's everywhere. But in the U.S., I mean, he just doesn't speak English publicly. So it's just hard. It's just hard for fans to identify with someone who they can't they feel like they can't communicate with directly. You know, it's always through an interpreter. So, and it's not just that Tom Kim speaks English. He speaks perfect English. Like he's completely completely fluent. And he's funny and he's smart and he's driven. And yeah, I think you're right. He does have this unique potential to combine these two massive markets where he's going to be a huge star in Asia. I'm sure he already is a huge star in Korea. And I think he's going to be a huge start here because, you know, everyone loves the guy who stars on the losing team, right? Because they're so unthreatening, right? It's like, oh, I love Tom cam. He was awesome, right? He didn't beat us. It wasn't like I hate him. He was cute. It was cute out there. Exactly. That's the exact thought I had are seeing the president's cup post party pictures was like, oh, this guy's great, and he's not really threat of us because we're, you know, we've won 12 of these in a row or he's not a threat. Yeah. I'm excited to talk to him. I'm really, really pumped to talk to him. I think he's going to be great on the show. And then we have Tom Fleetwood, who, like Frankie said, we have a funny history with Tom Fleetwood. He's pretty dry, sense of humor, but a great one. He clearly exhibits that with us. And then we talk a lot about he was pumped about the president's cup. He said that he washed as much of it as he could. He lives in Dubai now, which we get into. And we spoke about Ryder Cup performances, especially 2018 in Paris. When he and moan are Francesco ball and Ari, just were unstoppable basically as a team, they dusted a bunch of U.S..

"It was a huge party for the whole team and we had to fund. So I was up pretty late. It was my first official party. Ever, ever. But I didn't drink. I was hammering water. Don't worry. What do you mean, never been to a party? That was your first time being around a collection of people celebrating something? Yeah, kind of. Foreplay, presented by barstool sports, brought to you by our very good friends at Chevy, Chevy EVs, a big show. We got two guests on this show in theory. We're in a weird spot where we have recorded with one of them. We have not recorded with the second. But I do believe you're going to have Tommy Fleetwood on the show who's going to come second and the next voice you're going to hear that's not one of these four is going to be Tom Kim. The international hero, the lightning rod from the president's cup who won the Wyndham championship, which was one of my favorite tournaments now in Greensboro, just a couple months ago, is going to grace us with his presence on this very show, extremely excited to talk to Tom Ken boys. Tommy, a bunch of Tommy, it's just two Tommy. Oh, true. Yeah, the toms. That's a strong show though. Tommy Fleetwood one of the best characters in the golf world, even though he doesn't even try and be just like looking at Tommy Fleetwood. He's a character. He's got the hair. He's got the look. We've got the history with him where I said he fucks. It didn't really go over well, but now we're best friends with them. And then yeah, Tom Kim is just an electric factory. He kind of just took everyone by storm at this president's cup. I mean, we had Danny rapoport, kind of letting us know that this was coming. He saw this storm coming and then it still hit you like a ton of bricks. I still wasn't prepared for it. It's like, who the hell is this guy going fucking nuts? So yeah, I'm really excited to talk to him. I think this was a massive week for Tom Kim and I know that because it like some of my friends who aren't really huge golf fans were like, wow, this guy's electric. You didn't need to be a golf fan to realize that what he was doing out there was not normal.

"Alrighty, Dylan. I watched the president's cup through my television screen. And so I had way worse view than you had. But I watched a good amount of it. I saw the Americans go up very early. I saw a little bit of the internationals, like really fight back. I saw most of that kind of on Twitter with Tom Kim highlights. And then I watched a lot of the Sunday singles, which frankly, like you said, there was a moment there was a short moment. It might have been 15 minutes long. It might have been just been ten or 12 minutes long, where it was like holy cow. It could happen again. If we're not careful here, it could happen again. So I'm curious, what did I miss? Down there on the grounds. When I was back home watching on television, what was I missing? Man, I think you were probably just missing the feeling to some extent, the sounds on the ground. I think more literally if you were at a wedding on Saturday evening, then you really missed the peak of the president's cup. From the international team's perspective, which was what happened when first Tom Kim and then cam Davis hold putts on the 18th hole. And when Kim Davis put went in to secure a three one win for that session to get the internationals back within four points, they ran onto the green and all celebrated together like they had just clinched the cup. And it's funny, even JT said this in the U.S. presser afterwards. You can kind of lose track of what's happening because of what's just happened in the latest session. So he felt like in that moment, okay, hold on. We got to remember, we're still winning, and not only were they winning, they're winning by four points, which is it's not insurmountable, as we've seen. But it's certainly a big, big, big lead to take into singles. So that was the best stretch came on Saturday. That's when the vibes were the highest. That's when the tension was highest. And it took it from a blowout and just an American celebration, which is how it felt Thursday and Friday to an actual golf tournament worth watching. That was great. One thing I really want to understand is like watching from my perspective, it was all these highlights. It was Tom Kim thumping his chest and si whoo Kim doing his thing and cam Davis doing his thing. And so that all, if the Europeans were doing that in the rider cup on American soil, that doesn't really go over well with the home crowd, but was it a little different? Was the fact that they were underdogs pulling these things off, kind of,

"Be the face of the live tour. So here's where I come out on it. If the membership of the PGA Tour is against it, which is the players, not the tour structure. The employees of the tour, the PGA players are against it, and Jack Nicklaus is against it. And Tiger Woods is against it. Guess what side Davis loves going on? I'm gonna stick with Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. And unfortunately, we lost Arnold Palmer last year, year and a half ago. Arnold Palmer was against this in 1994. And actually called a meeting in his office of the top 30 players in the world and said, this is wrong. So I'm with Arnold and Jack and Tiger. You're exactly right. They play for legacy and history and the trickle down to all the other players that benefit from the top players. We play a 156 players, 125 to a 156 players a week, not 30, not 48. Last week was interesting because a young man 20 years old won a PGA Tour event and earned PGA Tour membership. His lifelong dream. That's interesting. For Tony finau winning two in a row, not the same 48 guys playing an exhibition over and over and over and over. That's going to get boring. Who excites you right now? Who's game really? I mean, who were the future torch bearers of the PGA? Who is the most exciting game in your opinion right now? Here we go. Let's talk golf. Cam young. "Last couple of things I want to do in touch on the AIG women's open over at muirfield yesterday watch the finish, Ashley buhai, who's South African wand, incredibly emotional, her husband. I think it was her husband. They kept showing him on TV. He was making me laugh out loud, how fired up and into it he was. But I think it was a four hole playoff. That her and NG chon had just like as really as good as it gets as high pressure as it gets. There were some huge putts made. UI actually I kind of was choking it away all day, just didn't have her best stuff to cheat off with a pretty good lead. I think shot like 75 made like a four, 5, 6 foot or whatever it was on the 72nd hole to get into the playoff. I always find that impressive, like we were just talking about Tom Kim, you know, starting with a quad and then coming back and winning by 5. I always find like when you're struggling, somebody's struggling all day and the momentum is not in their favor. It feels like them coming down the stretch going into a playoff like they're just gonna lose that person never wins. And she somehow battled it out, played damn well on the playoff. It had a lot of good shots. It was getting colder and colder in the 18 poles like 430 yards, hard hole bunkers left and right. She had the fairway every fucking time. Hit a bunch of good shots and then ultimately had a sick up and down on the fourth again, I think it was the fourth playoff hole. A bunker shot that's just like in that range that none of us have. None of us have. She's like in that kind of weird circular bunker they have on like the faraway part of it. So you gotta go over another part of the bunker and then the pins on the far side of the green up over a knob. Somebody had a great response to kind of my tweet about it. That was like this shot always for me begins with like heads up over there and you're trying to take like this full swing. You don't know if maybe you should use like a gap wedge or something because it's that far of a shot and she hit it to like 6 inches to win the goddamn thing. So just an iconic shot from her fun to watch down the stretch. So shout out to her win in the AIG women's open. Muirfield, iconic. It's crazy. Golf is still just being played over there. You know what I mean?

"You get a free round of golf while checking out the barstool bruise box package. So this guy, Tom Kim, 20 years old, he would be either like a, I think they said like maybe a sophomore or junior in college, which is fucking outrageous to think about. I mean, I know Phil Mickelson is pretty famous for being the most recent amateur to win on the PGA Tour when he was what like a sophomore junior at Arizona. And so for Tom Kim to go out there and light it up and shoot and so he made a fucking quadruple bogey on his first hole of the entire tournament. This is such a good lesson about golf. So easy to get down on yourself and to just keep powering through. Made a quadruple bogey on his first hole. He's four over par at a tournament where you know you're probably gonna need to be somewhere between 15 and 20 under to win the damn thing. And he ends up winning by 5 shots as a 20 year old for his maiden victory on the PGA Tour. I saw that he is kind of, oh, I think it was maybe Jason sobel, who tweeted this out. I can't remember exactly who, but said Tom Kim is the 9th PGA Tour winner from Korea. Says the LPGA has had 9 since the start of 2020 and just talking about how the Korean golf and the women's game is obviously taken over and starting to take over and really have a significant impact on a lot of their talent making it out on the PGA door. But yeah, he apparently has a ton of character. I was talking with a couple different folks who were like, man, you guys got to get him on the show at some point because he's great. But Tom Kim comes out wins the damn thing by 5 shots after absolutely fucking dominating yesterday on Sunday. Crazy to have the belief that you think you can do it. I mean like if one of us shoots a quad on the first hole, I just think like, well, now like 85, 90, a hundred in the cards, so anything at this point. And so to believe that you can come back and shoot on a par and he finished with a 61 is just preposterous in terms of the turnaround and how good of golf came that is. Also my way of thinking prior to meeting doctor Brett mccabe would have been. I have to make four birdies just to eliminate that one quad and that's never happening today. So my day's over. So that would be that's a really hard thing to overcome. But yeah, 'cause a good mental thought person would be like, all right, like I can make one bird and that turns into a triple. I'm gonna make another one like we can kind of a couple pars and now that's like a bogey in a part. You know what I mean? So you can kind of move that around, or you could just forget about the quad and just keep moving on with your day, which is what he did. You don't have to start fucking doing math. Or you just played two off the first tee, and then that quad is never exist because the next one you strike down the middle and make it easy for. That's exactly what we would do. Exactly what we would do. I'm happy for Tom Kim, congratulations to him. I'm not super comfortable with someone being born in the 2000s starting to excel like that's time is just slipping away, fellas.
