"Welcome back. Busy show. We've had countless guests and I'll try to make it up some make up some time with some phone calls here. Doug is up next. Good afternoon. Heather. Yeah. Oh. Yes, sir. I got there. Probably a silly question. What happened to Kentucky this year? Well, really, the same thing that's happened in the last couple of years. They've tried to make do with good players, but certainly not the type of players that they had ten years ago. And well, they had they supposedly had one of the best big men in the game when season started. True. And then all of a sudden, their season collapsed, so. It's a little disheartening. Well, I can understand that. Doug, and I think one thing John calipari did, you know, he had such a run there in the, in the first half of his career. He won. And he was in the final four, what four times played for the national championship a couple of times. And slowly, it starting to unravel, and I think a year a couple of years ago, maybe you could say it's an aberration, but it's really starting to become the norm now. And that's the problem. Can I ask the inevitable question? Is it the one and done that still in Kentucky? I don't think so. Because, I mean, I think you could have said that a couple of years ago, but if you look at this team, I mean, he had some experience there. I mean, obviously Oscar had been there for a couple of years. He had other players that have been around and I think he's tried to, I mean, I mean, Cal has tried it both ways and right now, unfortunately for him and the wildcat nation, nothing's working. Dwayne is up next in Mississippi. Hello, Dwayne. Hi, Paul. How are you doing, man? We are doing well. Thank you, Dwayne. That's awesome. I called you, I call you when I can. I'm a prison guard. I get my hours. I can't get you all the time. Sure. But I've noticed I've noticed, you know, I lack in line sovereign in the fall and every time I get to watch your show, I'm in is always talking down on Alabama. And this ain't what I talk about, but this still needs to get a lot. But anyway, I think Nick Saban was kind of telling parents that it's okay to come here, but if your kid messes up, he's gone. I don't think he was meaning anything to NATO. So of course, I like Nick Saban, my favorite coach, and I might be a little biased, but I honestly honestly don't believe he was talking bad to mister NATO. But in Alabama stands have been on Twitter and college you Alabama and said that Brandon Miller shouldn't play. I've heard it. So that's all I had to say, Paul, thank you. Well, thank you. Thank you very, very much. I'm glad to hear from you. Fred is up next in South Carolina. Hey, Fred. Hello. Hello. I don't know. I would ever Fred is. I would like to be there. That I can tell you. How about rattle jaw in South Carolina? Hello rattle. Hey, Paul, thank you for taking my call. Thank you. I wanted to talk to you about Justin Moore. Please. What a great, great, great guy. I'll tell you, I'm involved with an organization here in south Carolina low country to help veterans we're trying to slow down the suicide rate and Justin came down to get a benefit for us this past October. It's a feather in his cap when a man is willing to come down and put on a fabulous concert for three thousand people. That's what we had. We didn't fill up a stadium. We didn't fill up an auditorium. We had 3000 people. It took its own line and came to this show to see Justin Moore and the other groups that were local. And I'm telling you, well, it was fabulous. I mean, it was unbelievable. Paul, I'm a 78 year old retired marine, and I am a country western fan. I had never really heard it just a more. And I'll tell you what, when I walked away from that concert that night. Thank you very much. You'd be well. Thank you for your service. We are officially out of time for this program. We appreciate all of you for being a part of it. Some really interesting guests today will see you right here tomorrow. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast, the Paul fine bomb show airs weekdays on the SEC network beginning at three eastern.

"Told you on the first day you're making a big mistake. It looks like I was wrong. No, I think you were right. I just don't listen well. My wife could tell you that much, but no, man, it's been a lot of fun. And it's provided me the opportunity to meet and interview and get to know some of my childhood legendary hall heroes. You know, which has been a lot of fun for me and get to know them and then, you know, weeks like this or are easy for us to do radio here and Little Rock, as you know, it's been a, it's been a really good week. We'll talk about the hogs for a second and then I do want to talk about your musical career when your music career, which is on fire at the moment and has been for a long time. Some of some epic hits in records that you have put out, but in terms of what you've seen from Arkansas, tell us what you think is ahead because not many people expected the most bus to get this far. Now I was one of those people to be honest with you. We were just so inconsistent all year. And I think a lot of that you can probably attribute to youth, you know, this is one of the younger teams in the conference, if not the country, you know, when you're looking at as many freshmen as we've had to play this year, or, you know, they're great players, but we've played a lot of freshmen in other words. You know, I think most has said this and I've said the same thing, you know, it felt like we could beat anybody in the country or lose to anybody in the country. And we kind of saw shades of each throughout the year, but as must does, man, he's got him playing their best basketball right now. And, you know, to knock off, you know, to be Illinois, Illinois is a good team and it's obviously a great program, but to beat a number one seed now for the second straight year in the tournament. I think it just speaks volumes of how great a coach Eric monson is. We're talking to Jess or Moore. I do want to talk about your new record. And there was a time back in the day when you put out a record and everybody was waiting to hear it. I feel like I know this record pretty well. I mean, the first hit came out in the fall with a woman you love and you've had a few since then, how does this work? It's coming out in May, but you've already had what two or three singles from it? Yeah, I don't think we know how. Nowadays, either, Paul. I think we're all trying to figure it out as artists and record labels and, you know, with the social media being what it is and number of CDs or types or anything like that. I think we're all still trying to figure out the best way to put music out there. And I think what we've learned is the more the better and the quicker you can get in a music out there better. So yeah, our single at radio right now is called you me and whisky. It's the second single from the album. The album's called stray dog. And that's a duet with Priscilla block who's a new artist who I think has a really bright future ahead of her and but yeah, we've put out two or three others in addition to that that people can get on iTunes or wherever they bring their music and it's funny for me part because this is my 16th year. I signed my record deal 16 years ago, which is hard to believe. I was 8 when I saw my bills. No, and it's changed so much, man. But I felt fortunate to just still be doing this for a living and still be having hits on the radio and get to go play shows for people. So however we get stuff out there now and in the future is finally made as long as I still let me be a part of it. Talking to Justin Moore and most people, as I mentioned, no your music library, but maybe not everybody does, but I mean, it is really vast. And we're talking about songs like small town USA to my last day of heaven, wasn't so far away. Point at you, I want to ask you about one in particular because I don't I think it's the biggest hit you've had, but if heaven wasn't so far away, it's just one of those songs that people here and it never leaves them. Is that, I mean, I know you have so many great songs beta hook, I'll kick your ass. I mean, it goes on and on and on. I like that one in particular. But. How does that process work? Well, thank you for the kind words. Again, we've been really lucky that country radio and the fans have supported us for a long time. And I also, I don't know why, but we certainly appreciate it. Yeah, if heaven won so far, why I think the special thing about songs like that, and the ones that didn't make it back home, I would throw into that group as well. It's always fun to have a hit record and it's good for your career and all of the above. People sing along with it and your parents tell you how important you are when it's number one. And all that good stuff, but when you have people come up to your grocery stores and ball fields and stuff like that and go, man, I just want you to know when I was going through losing my grandfather or my dad or sister or whatever, this really helped me through a difficult time and I think that kind of speaks to the power of not only music, but specifically country music. So it kind of transcends just being a hit record at that point, which is really cool to hear those stories that and the fact that people feel comfortable enough and they feel

"So I don't need to be, I think I was a little too probably too harsh to start there, but you were making a point. You know, it just bothers me, you know, Brandon Miller is the longer we get into this, I think one of the concerns we're going to find and that people are not going to be happy with this is that very well could be there was there was an Alabama player and another Alabama player there, but more than that is that it looks like this is probably going to be self defense when it all shakes out and then the national media is really going to have to. I thought we had our guest yesterday from the Ryan Ryan Miller Ryan Phillips from the Tuscaloosa patch. He made that point and it's much more confusing. Nobody wants to litigate that any longer here, except to say that. We're jumping. Because it's Nick Saban, we're always we're always trying to interpret it. I think Nick Saban had that in his head. It seemed like he was reading from notes. And as tall, he said earlier, Nick Saban doesn't walk into a press conference and make a statement like that without having thought it through. Now, what he was trying to accomplish from that, I have no idea. You know what? I think I'll end the call on that. I think you want a percent correct. They've been back on what he's doing, a 100% of the time. We don't, but he does. Sure. And I mean, I've heard some really incredible reactions to what Nick Saban said today that, yeah, I don't think he was taking a direct shot at NATO's. I think he was just trying to make a point. It was in his head. He said it. And 24 hours later, we're all talking about it because we're not talking about somebody that's a minor figure here. We're talking about Nick Saban. Thank you for the call. Appreciate it. Let's check in with expired next up in Texas. Hey, Paul. Good afternoon. Thank you. But anyways, I just want to say a couple of things. Miami was replaced by Alabama as convict you, but I would like to apologize to the university of Miami. The U, okay? Baylor was in between. I think Lee brought it up with coach coach wall ago and I'm just going to sit here and say, what a dumpster fire Baylor was at one point and convict you, Alabama, okay? And I know we got a lot of Alabama listeners out there. Convict you, Alabama, is what it is now, okay? And they have taken over the lead from Baylor. So anytime you Alabama fans get all high and mighty, okay? Maybe you'll win a national basketball championship. Just look in the mirror and see Baylor, okay? And the last thing I'm going to say, Paul, and I'm really glad you got me on. I really appreciate you having me on.

"Going to get an update from a pro day today in the SEC from a former NFL MVP working out for the scouts and we'll see how Cam Newton did on the plane. He's looking for a job and we'll have a reporter who was there to give us the absolute latest. Let's check in with Peter, who is up next. I hate Peter. How you doing, sir? We are well. Thank you. Wow. We're from the south, right? And everybody loves football. And I've got a friend who went to church with and he was from North Carolina. And he said, football was just a something to as a time mark or a place card until basketball season started. Well, I grew up loving both basketball football baseball, whatever it may be. But today has just been just the same question has been asked 50 times when we've got four, three people, three teams, tennis, and Peter, I think I know where you're going. Okay, so tell me what if you would like to talk about as opposed to what we have been talking about. I mean, this is garbage. It's ash and trash. I mean, we're talking about the March Madness. We're talking about when March Madness. And we're talking about a bunch of, is it the Jerry Springer? Yeah, it's the Jerry Springer. It's crazy. Well, we've got something amazing to talk about. Well, Peter, I appreciate your call and we have been talking about it and we will continue talking about it and then you didn't talk about it. All you talked about was all the other stuff. Mitch is up next. Good afternoon. Sir Paul. How is I am at fault in my resignation will be on your desk in the morning, Mitch. I'll let this one go. You get another chance. So don't put it on my desk because I'm a tear down. Okay. Now, the next one might accept. Now, let's just be 100%. Neat saving what talking to anybody, but his football team. Now at other people could take a message from his speech, he probably didn't mind that. But he was then his team though. Well, I would agree with you. I mean, at this point, Mitch say Nick Saban is not concerned about anything other than getting back in the contention next year. So when one of his star players incoming players gets in trouble, he did feel like it was the time to lay the law down. Now, why he chose to that type of those type of phrases, I have no idea and I'm sure we're now 20 two hours into the story of if he was that concerned about the way it's been interpreted. I'm sure he would have corrected it. He has a number of many, many media personalities. Including me, and he could have called and said, hey, hey, listen, I didn't mean that. I meant this. We haven't heard that from anybody. Well, I think that all he might have been doing was telling his players that are freshmen and sophomores. Let this happen to you and you won't be on my team next fall. Exactly. I think that would have been a smart thing to say, hey, thanks so much for the call. Pembroke is up next. Good afternoon to you. Good afternoon, mister. It is an honor to talk to you. Thank you. I've been a fan for many, many years over monthly Alabama moved to Jackson about 13 years ago to be closer to family. And you can only imagine the hill that I catch Mississippi now by almost there. So I want to talk to you today about, you know, I just want to say something short. Young people, I'm 54 years young and made bad decisions and I made some real good decisions in my life and you know, I don't know if there's an answer to young people want to do what they do, but the fact is that I listen to this morning to coach Nick Saban. And I thought it was I thought it was well spoken. I think that, you know, I think it's a shame that young people that have so much opportunity can make such poor decisions. But as far as the basketball goes, I am thrilled to death at Alabama's doing so well, but I'm really thrilled to death at the whole SEC as really done well in the NCAA tournament. And I'm just thrilled to get through to you and I'd love to hear your comments on that and thank you for the call. Well, thank you. And we're really appreciative of your phone call and it has been an amazing march so far. Thank you very, very much. Appreciate it. Let's check out Mark, who was up next in Tuscaloosa. Hey, Mark. Hey, Paul, I really appreciate you taking my call. Thank you. You're the best. And I think it's Jimmy the came on and I'm going to have to disagree. That's what makes this show great. He said anyone disagrees with him is smoking tea leaves, whatever it was. I think your quote after that was your right and you went to a break. Cody Mitchell was arrested with marijuana possession. There were images of large, large bag of marijuana. He had a buy arm. He stacks of cash, you name it, he had it, okay? You had a guy on about an hour ago that made this quote. If Saban were the basketball coach at Alabama, he would have done the same to Brandon Miller. My question to you, and I respect you greatly. I know you're the best. I don't know why. You didn't stop him and recant and make him say that again because we're talking about maybe apples and watermelons here. And for that guy, whoever he is, I don't know him. You had him on your show. For him to get away with that, probably the worst comparison I've heard on your program since the Vickers, they remember me. Yeah, well, listen, that is on me, but let me also say Mark, I think the only really salient question here is what would Nick Saban have done in NATO's shoes and I'll just offer you a crazy opinion here in spite of everything that has happened. I think he would have done the exact same thing that Nate Oates did. I agree with you. I agree with you. I was the one that called and talked about the commander role as us with the police and how they don't release capital murder information quickly.

"They're terrible. They're tragic. No words can describe what we've been talking about here for two months, but I feel like inside that program, it's mostly good. The difference is today, I mean, you've got athletes who simply don't pay attention to their leaders like they used to. I mean, ultimately, though, programs need upperclassmen to take charge. And I think on the field that happened, but most of these problems are mostly most of these problems are out of season. And yeah, they may be one week out of season, but they're still out of season. Yeah, miss Paul I understand that and I'm like you. I think George good and very quickly also, do you think the coach might bring our basketball team into prominence or I'll let you go after this, so I appreciate your time. I do. I think my wife's a very good coach. And he was not appreciated at Florida because he was following something in Florida that was impossible with Billy Donovan. But I think he can build that program. I think what Georgia tried a couple of years ago with Tom green is not the right way to do it. You can't build a program at a place like Georgia in the express lane. He had the best player in the country, didn't matter. I think Mike white will develop players. He'll ultimately get a few difference makers and I think that program, it will advance. Aaron is in Fayetteville. You're on the air. Hello, Aaron. Hey, Paul, how's it going? It's going great.

"Hey Beth, thanks for the call. Good afternoon. Hi. Is this Paul? Yes, it is, Beth. Well, I appreciate you taking my call. I just have one thing to say. Policeman in this country have been talked to and talked down to now for the last few years. And what have we seen with crime? Up and up and I know there are bad apples. They're bad apples and everything. But for you to sit there and let that antique I want to be talk show, whatever he is, say that and you didn't check him on it. I'm really upset. My job is not to manage guests in terms of their beliefs about police effectiveness. He brought it up in relation to a it's not like he just went rogue. I mean, he was talking about the Jalen Carter situation. And the subsequent fatality. I understand that. And I'm a Georgia fan and I'm upset about that whole situation too. But to blame it on bad policeman and him not trusting the police that doesn't help anybody. Beth, thank you very much. Dink is up next. Hey, Paul. Yeah, I was just watching this first time caller. Thank you. I just wanted to put some things in proper context very quickly. I'm a Georgia, I'm a Georgia fan. I'm a majority graduate. And I will agree that some of the last two instances of our speeding and UGA with the athletes that definitely need some attention. However, I don't want to comment, I just want to come in about policemen. You want to hold the athletes accountable, but we also need to hold the policeman account. Because not all police are good police. Now, I know the topic of the conversation is not about police brutality or these policemen who didn't get held accountable for killing people, but I just heard a comment that you asked another caller about the George Floyd situation. There are a lot of instances and we can go all the way back to Trevor all the way up to today. Where a lot of cops have actually killed unarmed black men and they were not so accountable, but that's not the topic of today. But I just wanted to just respectful you know something. I don't think there's ever been a time in this country where there hasn't been where there's been more public conversation about this. And I don't know how you can get through you could watch what happened in Memphis. 6 weeks ago and make a blanket statement about anything. No, no, no, no. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking about the critic of Spencer hall. Okay. I'm listening. No, no, I'm saying that you're right. I mean, I'm saying that after that, my point being it's far more difficult just to make a blanket statement saying, oh, the police have never done anything wrong. It's pretty obvious they have. Well, well, just want to say on the same thing by the conversation. We want to hold the outbreaks accountable for their indiscretions. But when it comes to policemen, are actually out here murdering people of color. And they're not held accountable. I think we shouldn't have another conversation for another topic. I want you to understand, I completely agree with that point. Thank you for the call. I am Ann is up next. Well, they're good afternoon. Paul says, you got a busy day. For the record, I support the police and I want to fund the police. And there's a lot more bad apples out there in the public than there are in the police department. You know, these guys are overworked underpaid. They deal with all kinds of people from all different backgrounds and it's not just a color thing, but if you want to mention color, I guess you could talk about you can talk about anything, I guess. Tolerance, I've been watching TV all day, but you have flipper in the channels. Because I've been busy too. I'm kind of shocked that nobody's not once on national TV. Has mentioned the fact that Gary Ross and one of the last guys in Leonard Skynyrd died. I mean, I guess he thinks the reason for that is they didn't know that. This happened today and it has not happened yesterday, but I just see. I mean, my point being, it just came out. And you're not talking about, I mean, I know who he is, and you know who he is. But he was a key member of a group. Versus a stand-alone artist. Oh, okay. I guess that's different. But anyway, there's a difference between Gary Ross and her dying and Jeff Beck. I mean, people knew that name. This is, I mean, you have to get deep into the department. Everybody was pretty well known in Montgomery, Alabama, listening to southern. He's been out there 50 years anyway, he's 71 years old. Anywhere. I want to make an announcement for my family friend. My Friends. I know they're down and depressed. They can't wear their shirt. You know, they're shamed of their school, they're ashamed of Nick Saban, they're ashamed of oats, they are ashamed of the athletic director, the president, then the fans, it's okay. Put your band adviser back on. Maybe just on Thursday. And I know you holding your head down and you kicking the can down the road and you just feel so bad because the rest of the country is looking down on you. And then I just hope there we go. Gary Ross and her and Ronnie Sanders. We'll be

"Are going to spend some time taking your calls right now before the next guest parks in here. So let's grab Al in Georgia next. Hey, Al. Hey, Paul, how you doing, brother? We are doing great. You know, I've always loved watching your show. And I'm one of the first ones whenever I had my stroke. I left the hospital because they couldn't provide the Paul fine bomb show. But I just heard something while it goes that really aggravated me. And it was by Stephen hall, Spencer hall, Spencer hall, yes. Like you, sir. And he was sitting there talking about he don't trust police. That's what he said. That day, yeah. Well, I'll guarantee you this. I will never, ever watch another program that he is on. I know police that sit there. I served 20 years in the military. Then I come out and I serve with the federal correction institution. And that was just the wrong thing to say. Yeah, I remember when I said it. I will Europe during 11. He definitely said it. But it really frustrated me because I have got a lot of friends that work for the Georgia state patrol. They come to the house. I got a lot of people that work with Charlton county sheriff's department and the folks in police department. And I mean, they're all great. But to put your life on the line, every night and every day. I want to know who Spencer hall is going to sit there and call when he's got a problem. Yeah, I mean, I mean, I've heard that line used for a lot of people, but the police, because I guess there's such a national spotlight on them right now. I don't really know. When I heard it, I mean, there was no reason for me to it wasn't like we were covering it. I'm not. I'm not trying to put you on this spot. I didn't really care what he had said, but he did say it though. I agree with you. Well, I'm not trying to put you on a spot or to poll fine bomb show. Because I love this show. I love Larry. I love legend. I love it. I love everybody. But that trip my trigger. And I wanted to call and talk to you because I mean, because every couple of months or maybe even more frequently than that, we have one of these police matters that gets national attention. The Tyree nickel situation in Memphis, George Floyd, so many others. How is somebody how do you feel when you see those when you see policemen gone wrong? Well, it takes me off. Number one is here's the key. Even in sports broadcasting and you will have to admit this, I think, maybe. And every other job, you're going to have bad apples. Oh yeah. And you've got to get them out of there. I mean, we had them in the military. But my big thing is, is that was wrong to refer to all police. He didn't trust him. Because he's a lot of great guy. I want to see anybody else come out behind the desk. Come out from behind your job. Go put in for it. Do the physical stuff. Stand in there. I wound up when I come out. I applied for the sheriff's department. And they was going to pay me $7 and 50 cents an hour. And I said, that ain't happening. No, listen, I don't want to claim I know much more than what you're telling me here, but I've written with police before. It is a frightening job when you think about what police go through military as well on a daily and nightly basis. I know I didn't mean to put you on spot. But it just frustrated me. I think we agree. I don't remember, I mean, I said this earlier, I wish the policeman who pulled over Jalen Carter would have given him what it would have done more, frankly. And I agree. I agree. I agree. A 110%. You know, and that was like a slave. Every young person that's ever gotten the ticket, it woke them up. I can speak to them. It gives them a wake-up call. Yeah. But I just and the same thing for the young man. That was in Alabama. And that's the other thing that I get frustrated with. We got two schools, Alabama and Georgia. And I love Alabama. Don't get me wrong. I'm a Georgia bulldog fan. But I love the challenge. I like, well, I ain't going to say I like Florida. But I like the competition. But the big thing is, is if you don't start holding these kids accountable, what are you teaching? The ones that's under them. Well said, they can get by with anything. You got it. Anyway, that was my big thing. I was a really surprised with Spencer obviously. I appreciate it. Continue to do well and we'll just tell Spencer hall to stay away from you. Let's check in with Lamar in Texas. Hey, Laura. How are you doing, Paul? Thanks for having me. Thank you. Hey, just being kind of rolling around in my mind all day long. How come ESPN is not giving as much coverage to the SEC women's tournament. I know they had them on game day last week, but the fact that South Carolina is what are they? 32 and O now? Yeah. That's the one thing. The other thing is the parody in the college women's game is just unbelievable right now. But I don't see ESPN. Given the coverage that that deserves, there's no guarantee, first of all, the South Carolina and I'm a gamecock fan that they're going to win the tournament this year because I've seen some women's teams that just have some amazing talent, Iowa, Indiana, even some of the FCC teams. There are several SEC teams in the 21 teams. ESPN, giving a short shrift and I just, I don't know what else to say. Thank you for the call, but I would disagree. They had game day yesterday from Greenville. The game was on ESPN. I've seen dawn staley interviewed countless times here on SportsCenter. I just don't agree with you. And I realize you can make that claim about anything. I mean, I'll be watching something on the news or sports one day, whatever night it is, and my wife will come in and say, how come they haven't talked about whatever. I'm going to go up, I want to say, because it was the first story. I mean, unless you're watching every minute, you can't really say they're not covering it, because I think they are. ESPN has made a tremendous effort to promote women. And they do. Thank you for the call, though. Myth is up next in Kentucky. Hello miss, go right ahead. Hey Paul, how are you doing today? We're doing great. Yeah, so I called in wasn't for sure. I just got through working out, you know? Has anybody brought up anything about the John morant deal? One person mentioned it earlier. What do you think? I don't know the full detail on it. Can you give me a little bit more details on all I heard was he flashed a gun? Yeah, I believe he did flash a gun on an Instagram post. And he's been suspended for two games and has been created enormous controversy. My thing is, you know, and I ain't trying to beat get up. Don't get me wrong. He's not going to get an intro, I get it. But I mean, a kid that's in our third kid. He's still a kid, but a guy that's in the NBA just holds a gun on an Instagram social media page, not even in real life, not to a person's face.

"Good afternoon, mister fine bob, thank you so much for taking my call. How you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. Absolutely, mister fly bomb. Toyota volume down the garbage American soft makes me vomit. I had a question for you, mister fine bomb. How do you like when it comes to your schedule? I'm talking about football season. How do you manage your schedule, your diet and exercise? I want to know your diet and exercise, man. So I can motivate myself as mash more people. Come on, man. I'm injured. I'm exercise dude. At all. It looks like 30 year old homie. Come on, man. I understand diet and that's because I've given some Googling. I couldn't find anything. Come on, dude. I'm looking for it. You know, I love y'all. I ain't gonna go. I tell you what, I don't, I don't think I want to give that guy any advice on anything. Other than maybe to calm down on the 5 hour energy. Let's check out Boone in St. Louis, a hello Boone. Hey, how are you doing? We're doing great. Thank you for calling. Hey. You bet. Hey, I came on here to talk football the football, but I had a basketball question for you too. I wanted to give you a towel on the best football program. Eli drink Woods and what he's doing. And if you saw that mizuki could ever go back to being a powerhouse to where they were before, but before they go in the conference, each one of you thoughts on that if you have peak in. Yeah, but thank you. I think Missouri is at a real crossroads with Eli drink, which as he enters his fourth season, there's no way you could call what he's done. A really anything but average. It's not a failure because he's done okay. He's gotten some really good recruits in there. But there just hasn't, and they've had some good wins, but there just hasn't been enough consistency, and I think this year he really needs to show something. I know he was given an extension in the off season, which surprised almost everyone. But that doesn't matter. It sounds good. A lot of that is used for purely recruiting, but I think it's incumbent upon him to get out of the he's right now stuck. He's in the middle, not going either direction. And that's a bad place to be. So likeability wise, he's great. He's a darling of the media. We love having him on here. He's fun to talk to, but that's not enough. At some point, you have to start to win. Missouri expects to win. I mean, this is a program that was not that long ago, ranked number one in the country. This has a program that has a great history. Gary pinkel was a phenomenal coach. Yeah, I don't think we appreciated how great he was when he was there. Thank you for the call. Let's check out Frank and Texas up next. Hey, Frank. Hey, how you doing, Paul? Thank you so much for allowing me to talk. Thank you. I got some comments on this past weekend's game between a and M and Alabama and basketball. And I was just I was so impressed with a and M, if you look at their team, I mean there are a lot of two and three star guys with a few mixed in transfers and they just play just tenacious defense and they work real hard and I was glad to see Alabama allowing Miller to play and I wanted them to be full strength so there wouldn't be any there just wouldn't be any question on who was the best team that day and I think a and M they just prove that. Especially at the end of the game when they had a big league then they lost it in Alabama took the lead in any and came back and finished them all. Well Frankie and in every other game this year, Alabama has won the game. That's why I think that was significant. And I think buzz Williams is at or near the top of the list when it comes to really great coaches in this league. He had a good background when he came in from the ACC and he's lived up to it. That run he had last year was really extraordinary going all the way. I think the NIT finals and I think that he built upon that and he made sure there was no debate. I think that program is in phenomenal hands. I agree. And I'll tell you something else. I just think that if you're going to give the coach of the year award this year in the SEC and you don't give it the buzz Williams, I think, do away with it. That's just my opinion. Thank you. Yeah, I agree. I frankly, I mean, the coach of the year could have gone to a couple of different people. I'm glad coach gage got recognition, coach, stackhouse. Really, second half of the season was phenomenal. I'm going to make a few people laugh. But if you're giving out the award for the second half of the season, you know who deserves it? John calipari. I mean, this team was dead. This team went to Knoxville. I can't remember the date. And a loss there, which everyone expected. They were double digit underdog. And this team was about out. I think it had just lost to South Carolina. It came back, and then it teetered again. And then it went on a run. And again, I realized you have to give the coach of the year award for the whole season. January 14th, it was the day of that game. I mean, this is one of those unusual years where you could give it to four or 5 different people, including Nate oats. And not lose not blink and I, thank you for the call. Do appreciate it. Randy is in Virginia. Hey, Randy. A Paul, how you doing today? We are doing great. Thank you. We've got a beautiful day here in Virginia. Well, I'm glad to hear that. That's about time we got some good weather. Yeah, I am calling to say thank you to you and to one of your callers for giving me what has become a really cool grandfather name.

"And who has the best shot at dominating yeah, I thought it was interesting that kind of the perspective that a lot of these auburn guys have because them in Tennessee are the only schools that play both those teams annually. So I was kind of interested in hearing what these auburn guys thoughts seen both of them firsthand each of the last four or 5 years, however long those players were there. They had a lot of reverence for what Georgia has done. All in tapo is a Georgia native. So he keeps a pretty cool sign. He picked auburn over Georgia coming out of high school as a 5 star recruit. You see things that George is on the way to being there. I thought Kobe wouldn't had a pretty interesting response in other Georgia guy. As long as the next statement there, he feels like you can't count out Alabama, but it's kind of hard to deny what George has been able to do the last two years back to back titles for first team to do that since Alabama went back to back and decade ago. It's Georgia to make some noise again this season. I think that it's time to have that discussion. But really, the most eye opening response to me was from Nolan Smith, a former Georgia player. He was keeping all the praise on Alabama. It was like you're trying to set me up for failure. Nick Saban's one of the best coaches ever, he said, are you crazy? He thinks Alabama is always going to be a contender as long as mix there. He's like, I'm not going to stand up here and say roll tide, but they're a great program. If anything, they're kind of on equal footing, but he's like, at the end of the day, Alabama still got more rings. Everybody loves to count the rings. So he feels like until Georgia can kind of catch up there that it Alabama is still going to be neck and neck in that situation. "There is the combine what you see on television and then there's the backstories. And that's one thing we are going to talk about right now with our next guest who has been covering it. Tom green from ail dot com and some of the things that you find out what happened last year to all this. They were on a roll, and then they completely imploded down the stretch. Tom joins us right now. Tom, thanks for the time. I appreciate it very, very much. You have a chance to visit with a number of players, including old miss players. So tell us the story of all the rumors about kiffin to auburn and what impact it had on that football team. Hey, Paul. Yeah. I was just really interested in kind of seeing what it was like from the player's perspective, obviously a handful of old misguides are over there. I got a chance to talk to a couple of them. Running back Zach Evans and offensive lineman Nick broker. I was just curious what it was like for them dealing with that for basically the entire final months of the season. I mean, as soon as Brian arson was fired when Kevin's name was right at the forefront of auburn research. I thought it was interesting that they said that it was tough to handle. And it was something that was kind of tough to handle until Lancaster and address it himself. And you addressed it through the team that Monday of the egg bowl, the final week of the regular season. After that report came out that he'd be leaving for auburn at the end of that week. At that point, he told them that, hey, I'm here to stay. I'm not having taken any other job. But still, I mean, that's something that has to weigh on these kids mentally. And you try to block it out, but I think Zac Evans is really interesting term mind clutter. It's something that's there in the back of your mind the whole time because you hear about it all over the place. Nick broker said, that's what's going to happen when you have a coach that's kind of sold after like in case it was, but it clearly affected them on the field that last month, Nick broke or said, it was tough to deal with. We saw what happened. They lost all three games that final month of the season and even asked her lane and read that contract extension. They lost that Texas fall pretty badly too. Yeah, it was a complete and total collapse at the end of the year talking to Tom green from AL dot com time you talked to some auburn players, which is not unusual for you. Since you covered the team, but you talk to those who are departing about all the things that happen there as well and maybe even their thoughts on what happens now under Hugh freeze. What did you learn? Yeah, I mean, a lot of the players, I asked them about what it was like going through a coaching change mid season because obviously a lot of these guys, it was their second coaching change after guesthouse fire after the 2020 season. And it's one thing to go through it at the end after a season's over, but to go through it mid season. They said it was really challenging. But for a lot of them, they felt like it brought the team closer together and especially when Cadillac Williams was promoted to interim coach. They felt like Alban was kind of back to being auburn. So I'm going to say it was almost like a weight was lifted off of some shoulders. I believe it was tank bigsby said. If you look at the results of the two years under Brian harsh and he wasn't really surprised at a change happen, but he was kind of surprised that it happened when it did. But obviously it needed to happen and we saw all of them kind of get revived that final month even though they split the last four games of the season on a Cadillac Williams. But you guys seem to think that there's a pretty bright future under he freeze. I was able to talk to some guys who played for some of the coaches that he was hired at auburn. The old misguided in particular were really, really high on Jake Thornton former office wine kosher old miss, who's now at auburn. Said it was a nominal coach and obviously he's got a big undertaking at auburn kind of rebuilding that offensive line and we saw what they did on the recruiting front brought in. I think it was 7 or 8 offensive line and including three transfers that kind of plug and play type guys that can really help elevate that offense while in this season. Tom green with us from ail dot com time another story you wrote that I think all of us want to hear about. Is this constant debate that we have here, maybe it goes on elsewhere about what's happening in the SEC. Everyone knows Alabama reigned absolute terror over the league. George is now won two national championships in a row. What are the players that you spoke to there from the SEC, think about the president and the future of this league right now?

But I was just angry because I didn't really understand. I was like on my phone like, okay, what is a cling on kidding? I actually knew that. I actually knew that, but it was like, I was like, okay, so what is the collective? What is this? I was like, oh, okay. And honestly, it wasn't that bad. It just may be more frustrating to me that I was like, man, but they might have been alienating. Certain people that haven't watched it, but at the same time, you do you. Like, I get it. You're not doing this for a one off program. On movie number 8, they're not making that. You don't give a shit about it. You're not trying to gain new people. And it was like, so I started to understand that. They don't give a shit about that. But for going into one film, I think I told Travis. If this is their best film that makes me sad, but I was actually okay with it. Like honestly, besides the pig farmer, Dana, was the best person. I thought he was fucking amazing. Like, it was his little things that kept me in it when he was like, I think I'm feeling anxiety. And he was like, why don't you turn off your emotional button? He's like, okay. I don't know why. What am i saying sam rockwell. Who's like dancing all over the place like he's a madman in that movie. That is not a far stretch to to alan coming. I feel like he could also do that. "WSB, we're getting closer to tip off time now for a visit with the dog's head coach, Tom Green with coach cream Here's Scott Howard back here. It's segment Cuddle CM, Georgia and Missouri coming up tonight. Time to catch up with Georgia head coach Tom Creen. The Bulldogs and the Tigers will tip it off here momentarily. Coach. What are you expecting from this matchup tonight? Well, we've got to be great getting back on defense. They're very, very fast. They're taking 35% of the shots in the 1st 10 seconds. Yeah. 10 seconds of the clock. So when you got a situation like that, you got to do a phenomenal job of getting back to get it out. Quick. I've Tillman's not here to play. Then they'll be even faster with their inside players. So which is much more. We're gonna have to match it with them on the perimeter. A swell. We've got to do a great job moving onto basketball. We've got attacked them. We've got to get to the rim. We've got to go through the inside out. When it comes to our threes and go inside to score and bottom line. We've got to compete. On the defensive back boards, But we've got a really, really be good on the offensive backwards if they don't have their big guy Tillman, how does that affect what you do? Well, it creates more space for them. Actually, I mean, they more often than not. Therefore, five middle beyond the perimeter as well as in the post and then they come off the bench with a guy that plays a little bit more inside wrong, But the bottom line is they're really, really good. They're an older team. They've been together. They've got tremendously experienced guards. They compete you themselves, and that's a That's an issue. But what happens now, especially with the way they played Arkansas the other day there, constantly putting A lot of people on the court that you've got a guard because first facing Now, if you like the way you look the last couple of days and practice, I'd like it a lot. I've loved it. I think we've been We've been really good. We didn't do a lot on Sunday. We mixed it up a little bit. It was truly one of those get better days isolate. Certain things for certain guys, And then yesterday we came out in practice. Well, I walked. There was good. They're excited to go. I mean, there's no doubt about it, and they needed to remind him that we had just won three in a row, and we'd won five out of seven and Last week is over. Let's learn from it. Make sure that we understand the problems that we had our correctable. Let's do that and get ready for this game. You've talked about transition defense is being an area where you want to improve. What are some of the areas where you feel like you are playing very well. I don't know. It's a coach. If you ever feel like that, Uh, yeah, that's a hard I never think of it like that. I don't think I'm sorry, too. I don't think there's really maybe I should more, but I just don't think there's Places that you say Okay, we're really doing this. Well, I know that that we work extremely hard. We got a lot of guys that want to do Well, when they want to do well, when you have that sometimes you try too hard. And I think when we're moving the ball when we're moving without the ball when we're going through the paint, That's when we're pretty good and whether the three has fallen or not. It's the looks that we get, and then it's the ability to offensive, rebound it and I think when we are connected defensively, especially with aggressive pressure We're much better when we get quiet or where we get. We get locked into one thing like our man or the ball. That's we're not as good when when we're highly aware we've done a really good job and There's no question that when we're making shots were seven of our last 38 in the last two games. I mean, that's tough. It's tough. It's tough to be anybody like that. Especially these teams that were playing, But I just want them to play with confidence and feel really good about the way we're playing and what we're doing and continue have a great spirit throughout.

But it's kind of like that idea based on its own can absorb american culture and the which one he prefers. Because he's being brought up in australia so basically just hangs out with all of mickey d's drunken friends all day and says stupid shit I didn't checks to given austrailian. I'm don't text ridiculous name. I don't think the surge of course that's not a real of the sydney cocker's yes sony. Would they go to. La and basically jake alludes to those merger and it turns out that there is this. This is the closest thing to fill matched against any kind of like a a an insight or any kind of content. there's basically on covert that. There is a movie studio. That's churning out shitty sequels. No one wants and they're actually a front for stealing paintings and they bay. They disguised their paintings And then they. They burned the products in quotation but directionally they're burning fake paintings of bringing the real paintings swapping them out side. They're covering their tracks. And it's it's nonsensical. But i just do the idea that this film holy lights. The idea of making a sequel. No one wants. And they bring that to the forefront in crocodile dundee movie made in the year of our lord. Two thousand one is just a phenomenal piece of either acknowledging where we are in the world or just shortsightedness on the part of the royal restroom. That they don't really even notice. Yeah they're just like a good thing we're not lethal weapon three That would be shitty worse even want to conceive of this writing group. This is reminding me that we see a key plot limited in two. I've been it's not a key on elba comes to nothing. But all of a sudden they right into the script that the dundee owns like fucking thousands of miles of property in australia and a gold. Goldline yep goldline reaching spirit adam. I mean that's kind of how it works. There's a ton of shit into that is just like the audacity of that script is incredible. There's the other scene where y- okay. He needs to rescue his girlfriend from the drug cartel in the long island mansion. Great so his friend leroy brown who is a drug dealer. He just sell stationery says that he knows some bad dudes punk rock and then rightfully the punk rock. People are like well. This sounds really dangerous. Why should we help you and crocodile dundee basically. Well it'd be cool. It would be cool. Let's go do shit who the crocodile. Man reappoints liked to take america's site in the drug war. That's what is. Yeah that's that's the most punked deposits to back up. Bci and four so he goes from a bushman to suddenly a vast landowner and presumably millionaire owning gold mine. And whatever you do now in this third movie he suddenly live seemingly. The seats are hard scrabble life except his houses gigantic and doesn't understand. What money is we clearly. I really funny. That we learned that he owns a load of land. And it's like again his relationship with the aborigines. It's like oh. This dude owns large chunks of australia. Which famously a land that white people yeah i. I think the first movie had like some ambition toward how it was portraying aborigines and they dress like way more authentically. He has this whole speech. About how no one owns. Land bobble body then in the second one. Is this all cast aside all of a sudden anytime. A average appears in these movies after the first movie. They're wearing like loincloths and yeah. He suddenly owns half a fucking australia for some reason. The third movie though is is so perplexing to be where we start because all of a sudden. He's just a crock. Hunter he like. He's fucking steve irwin or something. That's never been his job. He fucking is also just the world's best croc hunter. Why why did you even fucking watch your own fucking movies for your occas is i. Don't i don't think that he did fairway woods. You no reason. I can't think of a good reason to well. I know we're kind of hard here on crocodile dundee three but strangely roger. Ebert didn't hate it. Not this great quote because i was looking at reviews because how people absorbed crocodile dundee three. Because the first two you know the i was just like who exotic the second one. You're still riding high on the crock fumes. But by the time you get here you'd be like man. Everybody had to hate this but that wasn't the case so ebert said it may not be brilliant. But who would you rather. Your kids took as a romo role model crocodile. Dundee david spade or tom green. It is a melancholy milestone in our society when parents pray please. God let my child grow to admire a crocodile wrestler. But there you have it. I don't know. I mean what gives you better life lessons. The work of crocodile dundee or freddy got fingered. Go freddy got fingered fairy. Crocodile wrestling is the least problematic. Part d racist overflow like just wants around sock and people in the face. He just people whenever they disagreed with and stealing. Gold mines from native noel corker hunters stuff but this is funny too because it plays into the last decade or so of everts life. He had this weird vendetta against freddy. Got fingered like time. He would panic movie star. Tom green that six skateboarding shift. He really mad and to a lesser degree. He hated david. Spade specifically joe dirt. He didn't like which jo dirt is the same thing as crocodile dundee but with a hillbilly redneck facing his honestly. I have seen years. I'm going to go on record in reckon that show dirt better than any of the crocodile. All joe dirt is is like it's basically redneck crocodile dundee with like plot elements directly stolen from like forrest. Gump that's that's pretty much. The whole thing also. Yeah freddy got fingered. Probably a thousand times better than any crocodile. Dundee movie certainly more interesting like if you if you search through and i would encourage anyone listening to go and do this. Just like search for roger ebert s- through his reviews and just search for like mentions of tom. Green freddy got fingered flips. The fuck out all the time just constantly for basically a decade. He's mad at. Tom green which is pretty cool. I don't know my last question and this will before we move out of the fourth movie is jake. You're you're la guy you're or west. Coast correspondent yes. "tom green" Discussed on WSB-AM
"We're getting closer to tip off time now for a visit with the dog's head coach, Tom Green. With coach screen. Here's Scott Howard. Welcome back to the grind House Killer Burgers, courtside show coach Tom Creen in Auburn, Alabama, as the Bulldogs get set to take on Auburn for the second. Go round, Tom again. Congratulations on that wind over the weekend over the old Miss rebels. As you get ready for this Auburn game tonight, Tell me some of the things you like that your team is doing right now. What do you think we're doing? Well, Well, I thought we really We played fast the other day. We're moving really well defensively, especially at the end of a week, and and I thought we did a really good job of our ball screen defense was better. We got up into the ball. We struggled, rebounding for a while, but then we got that figured out. We did a much better job of that, especially in late in the second half the last quarter of the game. And I like the spirit. I mean, we moved. I think it always helps when you make some shots early, but our guys you've got to play with that level of joy and happiness and excitement. Whether the shot is going in or not, and hopefully they're learning that What's your message for your team? As you get ready, Teofilo Sovereign for the second time Now there's multiple but it but it really just boils down to that. We gotta be unbelievably competitive in this game. I mean, just be very, very competitive. We gotta be smart. We can't put him on the file line. Shareef Cooper's average 19 points in the last five games. Seven of them are coming. From that from the free throw line. He's averaging over nine fouls drawn a game. I mean, so we've got to do a really good job of not giving these guys free throws and we've got to do a really good job of getting back in transition. We've got a compete on the backboards, especially with their length and how athletic they are, and we got to come down and we gotta make the next pass. Scott, that's gonna be huge and we want to drive and we want to post up because The shot blocking comes from off the ball. It's not as much the guy on the ball unless you just take it up week, But when you go into the guy's body, now you've got a chance to get to score and you've got to go up quick. So we just gotta make that make the next pass or get it inside and go up quick and not stand and And continue to build on what we've been trying to do. But we've got to bring pressure a lot of different ways in this game and not allow their point guard Tioga troll the pace of the game. What do what will your defensive matchups look like? Against them? Tonight will be a lot of mixing it up, But I don't. I don't think you guard Cooper Severe. Well, it will start on it. But I don't think you guard him with one guy the entire game. Unless you're just gonna play half court basketball. And we don't have any intention of that. So it's it's much more about putting different people on doing different things. But again, it's going to come down to our aggressiveness and getting back are exaggerated Talk. One another. And they making sure that we're showing our length and active and not trying to get up into people. They're bulldog people and allow them to destroy files on the drive. We gotta beat him to the spot. Had commented after the old Miss went over the weekend. How much you like severe is play on on Devante Schuler and his defensive effort against him. Is it the same kind of thing with Cooper tonight? Well, Cooper's more Cooper's more Cooper gets to the rim. Cooper gets to the foul line, and Cooper delivers the ball for drop off slobs and kick out three's especially going left. And and so it is, and it is shooter shot, more threes and shooter plays at a quicker pace. Really pounding the ball and changing direction where Cooper wants to set the pace and and walk it up and then get into the play. Get into the ball screen. And he's just such a phenomenal passer that you can't over. Help re carve you up with kick out three's her lob dunk, so We've got to do a great job there, but against of your starts on it, but it zipped matter of mixing different people. Are you good on your roster tonight? You got everybody ready to go? Yeah, I think so. I don't think Chris Brown is still I don't think he feels like he's anywhere near 100%. But we'll make a read on the game as we go, but other than that, Yeah, we're fine. Coach. Thanks as always, for your time, we appreciate it. Good luck tonight. Let's go get the figures. Doc's all right. That's coach Tom Creen from Auburn, Alabama, and we'll give you the starting lineups for the Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers, right after this on the Bulldog Sports Network. From a tiny blueberry to a towering Georgia pine. George's agriculture.
