"On the reagent right at Camp Store. PRD know that how you know that Kevin Walsh joins us as well from Archie Bunker's basement in the Queens. We're going to talk to Major league baseball props on Walsh is going to pick every Yankee to win on Judge Garrett Cole. Cy Young Yankees, air Gray blah, blah, blah. What? Unbelievable. Unbelievable, man. I cannot believe this slander out the gate. Baseball is back and I'm throwing heat here is you could see I look, I got this Yankees game on in the background. Have you chosen vetting the Yeah, I know. They're losing cameras. All right? They be they slaughter the man stole my goodness. Oh, my lord. There was 600 Oh, I forgot. Six. Nothing was my close game. I thought we were going to film scores in baseball Slaughters 16 settle down six at six knots. Game Well, it's just that I was told there was a tight 15 homers and all of them were for 100 feet or better. You Yankee fans are hard. My boy Tommy's E was talking smack to me on Twitter and rags yet what's the score? How the Mets looking guy sends me Tweet, Tom Easy. Because a mirror and see my power's out. What's the score in a game like six? Nothing goes. Oh, hello. Well, I know I'm just busting your balls. It's an exhibition game broke up like a book. White White Sox fans were talking big last night. Is there beating up on the Cubs to last night? So we already talked about the Cy Youngs? Any VPs, but we'll get your quick takes right now. American League Cy Young best that we'll show you got you give us one or two guys. If I'm going down the board and it's going to be the same thing for the National League so we can hit it right there. I'm interested in both of our oldest Chapman and Josh Ater. I think because we're going to see a lot less from starting pitchers. Obviously, they typically run away with this award. I think there's a world where one of those guys who knows Maybe both of those guys go out. There have incredible save records. Rays are follow, you know, 1.5 like really, really low. And they're you know, they're they're caper lines are out of this world. I just think that those two guys specifically have the potential to get themselves in the conversation because of the condensed season. All right. Look, You know what looking for for a closer thinking outside the box. Alright, so envy piece. We're looking out for M V piece. I mean, look, it's hard. It's hard not to watch budget, two home runs last night, not think about what he could look like. Fully healthy. If I had to go towards the National League, it's actually something that you and I had said We were closing up. I think that there is Bryce Harper for the Nationals. For the record cam like Eddy Merckx is so it is our judge. Well, look, here's the thing, though. This is It's not like I said Luke void, right? I said the guy got the award. He's got a judge could win it. Don't worry. I've got a Yankee and some of my futures to its LeMay Hugh, though I'm digging a little bit deeper. That's all. I'll tell you what that was really funny. The other night, you can see my brothers. That's fans. Right. So my dad, you know, big Yankee fan is giving it to him that they beat up on him in Game one. So sudden, my brother sees LeMay. He was back in the land of what's going on here, but this guy at Corona, he's coming back to beat up on us. Yankees are ruthless man. Got on a pretty shape that the Yankees spreading Corona to the New York Mets sabotaged the Metsseason couple coming up here. See DeMarco Murray's part of the watch to buy Wants to bite me. How much money DeMarco Murray make like, seriously Marco contract He shouldn't have. So let's let's get into somebody's Let's get into somebody's props right now. All right, so Major League baseball season Special's over it, Bandel right now we're just talking about this. 1st 1 Will there be a no hitter this year? Will there be a no hitter this year? Yes, plus 1 85 No minus 2 40 both mean Cameron agreement that we believe that there will be a no hitter, but not by one pitcher. I don't think I'm not even sure one picture. Will everyone have a complete game? That should be a prop. Will there be a complete game this year? But it doesn't mean that there won't be a group. No hitter or a collective no hitter, And I tell you what man between the Tigers and Royals like Seriously, cab. Would you be shocked like if the Royals got no hit once by the Indians or something this year? No, it was just my math. There's 13 60 games. Um That's a lot of a lot of freaking games. Right, talking about like 900 games, essentially here of a combination of things, I got to believe that there's one no hitter a plus 1 85 Look, I'll make this even easier, though. Every year since 2014 we've had a no hitter in the 1st 60 games of the season. Now 2015 It happened in a game 59 between the Giants and the Mets. Now that's a real sweatshop before we got a no hitter on Game 59 But it plus money, no headers come like that. That's you know, Look, they're not sure you know, obviously, every other day, Right? Like you know, the triple doubles become normalized in the N B. A. That's not the case with no hitters. There's no hitters. They come and they and they do come seemingly earlier in the season. 1800. So like I 59 900 per league 9 900 per.

"I was thinking also about Lolo. Like, what would happen if she was h because I feel like she definitely would put up candy and Tom to make sure one of them goes home. But I feel like Natalie would want to addict candy. And so then it would all come down. Once again, the tame are because I know Dino would wanna keep candy. And I I have to believe she probably wanted to calm at that point. So that's probably the his his his most dangerous position is if Lolo wins HOA age because I don't think that Dino and candy would nominate him if they came to power on the other hand, you could end up on the block if one of them wins the veto because there's only six people on the house. So I don't know there's a there's a path for him. Which is why I gave him a better rating than say Taryn did. But on the other hand, I don't feel super great about his chances again. I don't like what do you might pay somebody who has to win a competition in order to win. And basically in particular. I think that this is another reason why now. Italy is so key for candy because if Natalie leaves than than we're go, we're looking at Ricky and Lolo, I think they're both definitely targeting Tom taymor is definitely targeting, Tom. Those three people who've all won competitions versus candy and Dina who haven't won any competitions. If candy or Dino win, Tom is safe if Ricky Lolo or tame our win then Tom needs to win the veto in order to survive. However, if Ricky leaves then you might be safe, even if Lola wins the wage because what might happen is Natalie says Lolo, no we need to evict candy. She's the bigger threat and Natalie could very well persuade low into targeting candy first, and then and then candy might leave. I think that Natalie has that power over Lolo so that really dramatically changes the odds in Tom's favor and against candy, which is why it's so important for candy make sure that not only leaves. So I think K mart's the only person that no matter what is going to be targeting, Tom. At the at the double of addiction so important stuff to to think about here for Tom's chances. The audience is also higher on Tom's chances than Brent or myself. Very nearly a six, but not quite it's a fall. Okay. Okay. Well, that's okay. That's okay. I thought I told the chat I thought it was going to be like a seven or eight I really thought they were going to give Tom easy and score because he brought so much fun to this week. And it's been so it's been so interesting since he became each wage five I can handle this a little bit of vice the audience sometimes, but they're not usually that crazy..

"This place because you have traveled all over the world. How did you find this spot friends coming from L A Grumman's to eat out four or five times a week? I needed something different. I did my research, and I went Sri Lankan, really. But we got in there. And the decor is wonderful. The staff was immensely friendly. And then the food started coming out and some of those dishes, I go back again, and again and again with different people and enjoy Brian the chef his father's from Sri Lanka. And he his father is very proud of his smoked salmon recipe, and I found out recently that he actually agreed now there Brian smoked salmon is better melts in your mouth it smoked right there in the restaurant, and it's extrordinary dish. The kale salad and we've talked about kale. I found out something there that I had never heard before. And that is they dress the kale salad several hours before and it marinates kale salad, then is flexible and soft and not not sort of the crunchy chewy stuff that you can sometimes get gal salad dish. That's Sri Lankan street food that you grew up eating. Yeah. And we're gonna get he's from Sri Lanka. One second. The hopper and it's lacy bowl edible bowl of rice. Flour and coconut inside a perfectly cooked egg Serb with samples which are these different mixtures of spices and cooked on and peppers that you mix with the egg extraordinary experience too. I wanna have you from Sheila. Your take on this restaurant because it's it's not a purist. Sri Lankan restaurants. Louis. I think that is the key. Now, you're not going to go to this rush. Finding expect authentic Sri Lankan food. This is food gone fancy. The egg hopper is a street food. And I think they do it extremely while the egg, Hoppy, it's actually a really hard thing to nail down because the edges so crispy and thin that it takes an incredible chef to be able to do that. And so I think that that dish was purely authentic distri Lanka. But I also had the lots to cut through which is also a confidant. I must say that. If you're just given that to me without telling me was free Lankan. I would not guessed it to be cut throaty. It was very different in how prepared it was almost like a salad of sorts, but it's actually an entree and Sri Lanka, but the lobster on. It was so interesting. I'm never had locks to cut throaty. I mean, I appreciate it. The innovation in the dish. And one of the dishes that that we kind of took ownership. With the lump price, which was the duck lump price. And this was really interesting take on it. I must say that I was not necessarily fan of the lump price itself. But the duck that came with it was really really good. I could eat that doc is crispy and moist and duct downright duck done. Right. All right. Get in here with these two guys shirts. What's your take on this? I was ready for new things. So when I saw the menu, I ordered the kale salad. I'd loved it. You're right. It was very soft and very nice and light then I tried to act hopper. And was it blew my mind was like a really different. I love the president. I'm so into presentation, right? I love the presentation that hype and you can eat, and then I also had the salmon not too strong chew mild, very soft. I mean, it was really very delicious with one of my favorite dishes there. So the egg hopper is complete. Fantastic. The lump price is definitely Sri Lankan inspired. But a completely different take cultural. Like, I said was also very authentic, but I would say those three big Sri Lankan Staples on the menu. Like, this is so distinctly SriLankan, right? That you wouldn't be able to get an Indian restaurant. There's one chocolate dessert that is extraordinarily vol wrong, chocolate L, Roanoke valley and the Ronin. Which I had not known about. And that was really I think it was my favorite part of the meal, and it had a coconut laced cookie on top mentioned. And it was really you could eat that for days, and they have quite a wine list. They're heavy on white because that goes really well with the Sri Lankan food. But they also have for instance, this Indian wine, I didn't know you make such as such thing. And it's smokey, and if you had said to me have a class of Indian smokey wine say no I'll pass. It's amazing. You have to try the only thing that I do wish that they did is that the decor could be more free Lankan. And I think he Lanka has very distinct art and culture, and it'd be really fun to be able to change up the atmosphere and feel like you're going to some some exotic country. Right. Well, this is year spot. Give us a quick summary. Tom easy parking what a gift. Wonderful environment. Terrific staff and food. That's unusual without being weird. Right. And find out say, you know, it's a trip to a different place with an experience of a wonderful staff and a very unique food. All right. It's worth going there. Just for it is truly exceptional if you would like to try sixteen o one barn kitchen. It's on Howard street at twelfth. And San Francisco the telephone number is four one five five five two one six zero one it's open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday reservations are recommended and the average dinner tab.

"Show coming up later. We're gonna talk about the fact that millennials are not sending in their absentee ballots because they don't know where to buy stamps, or what a stamp is or how to use a stamp or where to put the stamp. It's the stamps that of the problem they can't figure out. Steps. We are doomed just so you could visualize how we're going to be doing the show today. My mom is moving from house. I grew up in South Carolina. We drive tomorrow down about twelve hours. Some in the basement and everything's God's little house. All completely gone. The people who are buying a house or doing their walk through sometime in the middle of the show here upstairs, but there's nothing downstairs including lights. So I'm doing the show in the dark doing this. It's pitch black. Pitch to step in a whole underneath. And again basement. It's like an eight by eight basement with the water heater and paint cans like nothing you can't handle shut. Why not do the do the show my eyes closed? So there's no light here. It's the first time I've ever done this show in the dark. I gotta do it down here because the internet routers down here. That's how we do the show. I plug it on the internet got do it the basement no more lamps now lights. So it'll be fine art. So fortunately for our country. Bad for ratings very bad for ratings. But fortunately for our country. This testimony. This thing may not happen on Monday. This cavenaugh stuff. As because she doesn't want to show up. So she or her lawyers say that they want a full FBI investigation before she would attend any hearing. That's not how it works. You can't you can't make an accusation. It's at the FBI to investigate. First of all Kavanagh's had six FBI investigations and background checks over the years. And again, you can't just say investigate him. And they do it. I'll just jump jump. How high that's not how that works. But let's say it was right. Let's say let's say you just call the FBI someone raped me. And they're like, oh my gosh. When did this assault happened? I'm not not sure. Exactly. Okay. Where did it happen? I don't know. Was there anyone else there? No, no. Well, one guy, and he said it didn't happen. Okay. Do you have any evidence that this happened at all? Well, I told my therapist about it. What what do you want the FBI to do? The FBI doesn't even have jurisdiction over this. You can't the FBI to get a rape claim that doesn't make any sense. Dan, mclaughlin. He says an eye witness to an event should not require an investigation of what other people know before being willing to testify about what she recalls, that's not how the thing works Detroit. I don't mean this flippantly, but that's not how it works in America. I mean, there's completely genuinely in Mexico among other places you are guilty. And you have to prove yourself in an innocent, do you. Remember, the Thomason Mary Andrew Teresi, the marine who got stuck in Mexico that whole story highlighted. The fact that been Mexico if you're accused of a crime your presumed guilty and you have to prove yourself innocent. And it's hard for us to wrap our head around that. Because. But that's how it works there. So the prosecution says you forget even what Tom easy was accused. Was it a guns? There's only you got you. Had drugs and guns. And you brought it in at this time at this place. You have to prove that you weren't there at that time or that place as opposed to them having to prove that you were right? That's how it works in America. In America, you're innocent until you're proven guilty. But this is getting flipped on Cava right with cabinet he's guilty, and he has to prove himself innocent. But how you can't you can't say he wasn't at a party. The woman does that you remember what went aware? How do you prove yourself innocent? It's impossible, and like we said the other day, and that's why statute of limitations, although they can be frustrating at certain times. That's why they exist. They exist to protect the accused. And that's what I want to talk about in this segment. Many injustices in the past or injustices against the accused, so our founding fathers devised legal system specifically to protect the accused. This is the sixth amendment at the sixth amendment is the that's the part about the speedy trial. Right. Who does that protect who does the speedy trial? Protect the accused. Sixth amendment talks about how you the accused have a right to face your accuser. That part actually goes back to ancient Roman law. Paul writes about it and acts. And then it was brought into English common law. You have a right to face your accuser. So you're like what again because we grew up like this. We don't we can't fathom that it would be done any other way. But of course, has done many other ways, and it's sorta be done that way these campus. Kangaroo courts. So on campus tribunals, you could be accused of assault anonymously, and you are say a guy on campus is accused of rape. And you're not even told what you're specifically being accused of. And you're not even told who is accusing you and you have to prove yourself innocent on these campus tribunals. Hopefully that doesn't leak out into our normal Justice system, but the sixth amendment is there to protect the accused. So in this case Kavanagh who's the accused gets a right to if this were in the court of law, which is not what the different erica's hearing for a supreme court appointment button. Go with it cavenaugh gets a right to face his accuser, the FBI is not the accuser. Right. So that her lawyer wants the FBI to do an investigation on the FBI's, not the accuser, the FBI has nothing to do with this. It's not even a federal case. He can't have the FBI investigating local credit. This is also stupid. But I think it proves that it was really all just meant to. Well, let me speak to that point before. I say what does the real Al about reading a lot of comments like this comments? You know, you don't get actually they've been pulled up here. I think I have one right here. To here's one. You don't get it. Because you don't want to get it. This is someone who's against capital the progressive, you don't get it. Because you don't want to get it. If you're ever blessed with a daughter, I pray. She has never heard by man. Hopefully, you will believe her. Even if she can't prove it to you. So Melissa McKenzie wrote I do have a daughter. I also have sons. And if you care for both you care for the presumption of innocence. I don't like a world that isn't safe for my daughter. But the solution is not to make it unsafe for my son's the solutions to make it safe for both. So what does this all about stalling? But I want to be clear. Even if it even a stalling wasn't this woman's intention from the beginning. And I don't necessarily think it was I don't think it was her intention to stall right because I believe she sent this letter to Feinstein months ago. It's what the Democrats are doing with her. She's no different than Roe v. Wade the row row v. Wade is sh she after the case. The abortion. She went on. She I never had an abortion, and she's now a pro-life advocate fighting against abortion. And she says the whole time her lawyers used her. So she was a tool to be used by the pro-abortion crowd. I think at the same thing with this woman. I don't think she set this in motion trying to delay his confirmation. I think Feinstein's using her and the Republicans should fall for it. Confirm him on Monday. Because there's nothing nothing. And I may disagree with things that I don't know what you could. But if maybe you could just but nothing from this point forward that the Republicans could do could ever. Clear his name for someone who hates Trump. Right. If you hate Trump, and therefore, you hate cavenaugh that person will always refer to him as credibly accused rapist, Brad Kavanagh. Always forever. No matter for thirty years from now, he's gonna pass some opinion about whatever. And it's going to be credibly accused rapist Brad Kavanagh for the rest of his life. And there's nothing that can be done to change that. So there's no use even trying to change it. Just vote for him to vote for him. Now, it'd be done with a charade already. Are waiting for Monday. If you want if you if you wanted to the whole thing on Monday, but if she doesn't show up. No, no, no, sorry Feinstein should've brought this up earlier could've talked about it..

And that's one thing I've always liked to go five really about making a burger home with that. Sometimes try to just make a killer burger at your house. You don't mess with it? No, we usually go out for about. I mean, all I really won't eat steak out, especially like, you know, most of the time. So when we cook steak, I like only he makes an EMMY. Easing steak. Can you eat red meat on your diet? Usual? Yeah. I always have at least one meal, a red meat. And you said you like fish lot to salmon that Sam, but I, I kinda count salmon as a red meat. I use a kind of the same cause I usually grass-fed beef, and so it's will make threes. And I know they're not exactly the same, but you know, in my diet, I'll use those two as somewhat of a similar type, fatty protein. But yeah, red meat, most of the time for dinner staking, eggs is a staple for me for taking eggs. Delicious a love that ship. That's he's broiling. It. Shake quick wake speakers, Tom easy, unless you make it right. What do you guys have coming up? What's next year talking about prep for show, right? Yeah, we saw from the nationals. We're going to NBC nationals. Like I said, I told you in the gym earlier where we started this with the US as in July, didn't do the North Americans in August, but we're, we're gonna make run at the nationals. And that's about as far as I've gotten far planning. Career really wanna see what happens in nationals. I mean, we've made a lot of changes with the Tampa. Jason is not Jason's actually Kentucky. Okay. But I met him through Charles, who's actually in town and train Charles, Charles recommending to. So I was pretty much the only thing I needed to tell me to go that way. It's interesting having somebody help me with the nutrition. 'cause like I had, you know, the honor of having Hani work with me and it was like every two or three days something would change. You know how to keep going by noon food and I'm like, shit, man. I just bought a bunch of stuff that he may get in here and change and stuff. It wasn't drastic changes, usually small and a lot of times it was just like cutting something out or whatever, but and every once in a while I'd send pictures because that was kind of a big thing. Do you have to send the guy pictures of much? We. Yeah, so I'd send him send him pictures and he'd be like going to giant steak tonight and you know a huge ASA potato with tons of sour cream..

"Use his wealth to establish free libraries and definitely kept his word ray even today almost all of the carnegie libraries in the us are still standing and over half are still in use his active libraries a lot of them in lower middle income areas yet and carnegie actually had another lasting impact on libraries that i wanna talk about but before we get to that let's break for a quiz okay mango so since today's episode is about libraries we decided to look for one of our listeners that had a library card take a quiz and we found why he's a he's also somebody that spent a ton of time in libraries working on a couple of fascinating oral histories and we'll talk about those but brian abrams welcome to parttime genius hello thanks for having me and for full disclosure brian is one of our longtime friends worked with us on several projects in our mental lost days and has also as i mentioned tackled a couple of really fascinating oral histories and his work on another that we can't talk about just yet but two of them one was a an oral history of david letterman's top10 list and another was an oral history of the movie die hard i so cool so actually i'm curious brand can you just tell us a little bit about when you decided to tackle these like how did you decide to do oral histories on these two very different things that that's actually a really interesting question it and it's one tom easy to answer i would given contract to do them.
