You know, I know that there's this conventional wisdom that someone holds in office. They shouldn't aspire to another one in my polling where I've tested that. Voters are not against that. Toe Orange County Recent presidential debates, President Trump warned audiences of voter fraud on Election Day my supporters to go into the polls and watch very carefully because that's what has to happen. I am urging them to do it to watch that voters won't cheat is what he's saying. Of course. Is to threaten the integrity of the election. That's the claim, Gustavo Arianna wrote in his recent L A Times column that this this allegation of a sham of the Poles is a page straight out of a very old playbook. The 1988 election in the OSI, and he's here to tell us more about it for this week's Orange County line. Hey, Gustavo or last Eve, So tell us what happened in 1988. This was the election of 88 on November 8th so morning of November, 8th you start getting all these phone calls from across Orange County was specifically in the city of Semana like, Hey, there's these. Ah! Police officers or security guards are just thugs outside voting precincts and heavily Latino districts, holding up signs that saying non citizens cannot vote or asking people for their ID and assistant district assistant U S general at the time, Tom Hamburg was now state senator. He remembers saying, Like, Oh, this can't possibly be true. This must be electoral, you know? Like crank calls for lack of better term. Then he sends out the F B. I and it turns out, Actually, it's 100% correct. So this was done at the behest of the Orange County Republican Party to influence the election of the Assembly election of one Curt Pringle ended up winning by less than 1000 votes in that 1988 election. Was this all across this district, or was itjust in particular? Places like handpicked places. So the district itself, it's now I mean, if it's not the same district anymore, because you know they switch every couple of years. But this one was basically all of Santana and there was in 2020 different places, and we're talking about places like a Catholic church. Ah Boys and Girls Club, a senior citizen center places that hold significance to Latinos. Santana High School for that matter. And Tom Umberg himself, he went and he saw from a distance Latino voters approaching these poles. Seeing these signs are seeing these people and these air uniformed security guards and then turning away. I mean it was when it happened. It was a complete outrage. Any decent person was outraged that then share the time Tom Fuentes called an honorable thing to Dio. But at the same time you actually had Latino Republicans in Orange County. Some people described as Nazism. These are Republicans themselves, saying that about their own party. So where did this plan? I mean, this was this was a well constructed plan from from the top of the county Republican Party. Who came up with this like, how did this come about? They were so concerned that they were going to lose the election that they wanted to make sure that they intimidated enough people to not vote. Well, the official explanation that the's party leaders said at the end from Tom went this onward was Oh, they know. No one ever took full responsibility for it, Of course, because once they got, you know, once you have your hand caught in the cookie jar you're going to say, Hey, it's the other hand to try to take that those cookies. So what they said, though, was that they had been hearing rumors kind of like what's going on with this election there hearing rumors There's going to be unregistered voters in this case, undocumented immigrants and even the even the rumor of busloads of undocumented immigrants are going to be dumped off at polls to be able to vote. Let's make it clear that there could be an accusation. I guess that of busloads of people being dropped off. Ah, but you can't vote. If you're not in the voter rolls, right? You can't vote if If you're not a citizen of the United States, and people know that we'll of course everyone does. But it doesn't matter for the Republican Party and their mind. It's hey have like I don't I know they don't have these poll guards in, Let's say, Newport Beach or in a car on Delmar. They did it specifically at Latino areas because they knew what that effect was gonna have. And there was a case a very famous police officer Jose Vargas, who came to this country and document and it was ah Presence in Santa Ana and Anaheim for decades. He eats. "93.1 KFBK, now trending, head of the U. S. Food and Drug Administration raised the possibility in an interview on Sunday that a future vaccine against the Corona virus might be given emergency approval before the end of trials designed to ensure safety and effectiveness. Stephen Han told the Financial Times. Any decision would be science based and not politically motivated. Three Western drug makers are well along with their phase three clinical trials involving tens of thousands of participants. Okay here in California. We now have a new system, another new system to determine what's opened and what what's closed. We'll try to break it down for you as best we can, and you can determine for yourself. Where do you think it's more or less confusing? The bottom line is today you're going to look at barbershops. Hair salons will be open for business. But places like gyms and fitness centers will not so We're going to try to get all of that. First of all we're going to hear from the general manager of Lifetime. It's a gym. His name is Rob Tamale. And he says a lot of people want to get back to working on the general consensus is that they can't wait to come back. They really miss it. You know, different than a lot of health clubs Lifetime because it has so much to offer people spend a little more time than the average time that folks spend at the health Club Plus Did you feel safe coming here Because it is such a large facility and way had a reputation of being incredibly clean prior to covet. So with our enhanced cleaning protocols, it's only added to it. Okay, so the gym's cannot open up indoor. Some of them still have the outdoors, which is a shame because the air quality is so poor. Well right now healthy to work outside, even as we speak right now, there's an alert out about air quality. Now I know it's like 160. The guy's not good. But salons will be back inside. And Karen Mo M is the owner of Pigtails and crew cuts in a Thomas, she says, You know so far The outside thing has been going OK, but It poses a lot of challenges for people, so they are excited to get back inside. It's been going well, in the sense that we're able to accommodate clients not want to get haircuts. But we've had overcome some challenges with the recent heat wave and the air quality do the fires. So we've been trying to make it work our best, But we are extremely excited to know that we get to go back indoors into a clean of controlled environment where we don't have to worry about what it's like outside. So now you sit back and say, Okay, how do they decide what's open and once close, and the governor made this announcement late last week. He described this new framework as quote simple, stringent and slow. So they're slowing it down from what happened last time when they re open, so I'll try to break this down. Case rates and test positivity rates will be the metrics that will determine movement within tears. It's a tier system, okay? And it's in terms of severity. It goes from purple to red toe orange to yellow, So we have four categories right there, those different four different color codes the tier system, and it's all going to be based on The test results in various locations and counties. So you might be in your county yellow and then in my county, purple and And But the case lows from city to city within a county could be so different right and then based on whatever color code you're in certain businesses can open up in certain ones Still can't write. So if you're in the purple category, it's you know. Everything's open. Great. But if you go all the way back to the lowest category Well, no, the nothing. And then there's everything in between. So our business is going to be held to the standard of opening and then closing and opening and closing, depending on case count. Yes, there's an emergency brake condition in this In other words, if the hospital's start to get overwhelmed, they just shut everything down. Period. That's the emergency brake. That hasn't happened yet at all. No. Well, we're only a couple of days into this. I don't mean that hasn't happened since the pandemic. We haven't the big tide of hospitalizations that we thought would see never never materialized. Governor says 87% of the state's population currently falls into the purple category. So congratulations, Thanks. I'm sure a lot of business centers were saying that thanks a lot. All right, let's get outside and take a look at traffic..

Well, it depends on why you're looking at one versus the other because the Czech shield is nothing but an I. Ah, The board. That's underneath that it would have a radiant barrier on it. Basically, that's not Oh, and you could do that under either one of those materials, so Shingle is going to be far less expensive than a metal roof. But the metal roof is going to give you that certain look and durability that you're not going to get out of shingles. I think the Room room room are the metal roof will last longer than the Oh, absolutely. Okay? All right. That's what I need to know. Now. One other thing, I will tell you it'll last longer. I have a question about another. What I can plan. Our concrete deck is protected from mode and mildew. Just protective period. I guess maybe it will take it from there as well. Well, a concrete dick. I mean, it's going to get some mold and mildew so that they grow on and you taught my just where it's turning black. Or is it actually getting green mildew on it? Well, I just That's just sort of brand new one. So what work? Maybe, but some type of objection over so before it gets that direction, Yeah. Well, you know it. Because of our Climate that we're in and the pollution in our area and stuff. No, it does tend to build up. On concrete and give it that that black finish on it. That has pressure washed off. Now you can put a concrete sealer on it and things like that. That will make it easier to clean it off. But you're still gonna have that that buildup on it. That has to be cleaned off periodically, and nothing is going to do away with that. Now, some of the products like wet and forget, spraying. Forget can be put on And that will I'm sorry. What was it? What was it called again? Well, what wet and forget? Yes. And spray and forget those kind of products. Khun B. Sprayed on and not only does it help clean it. But it also, Ah slows the ability for it to come right back again, but it will eventually come back. Oh, you do it for a year. I mean, just maybe give it from built it up like that, or whatever. You know, usually for as far as cleaning the concrete, once every 1 to 3 years is usually all it needs. Oh, well, that's pretty good. Yeah. Well, I was thinking really much. That's all I need to know. You have a blessed day today. You as well. Take care. What You know, for cleaning concrete that way, if you get one of those little circle things that has the the sprayer that spins that you can hook up to a pressure washer. So it is the bottom of the frame on port and is now still stable. But I could be the turning black and then back into some water of Nikki into the garage, so trying to see what it did to our victim. I wasn't door. Okay. And did you say it's the door itself? That's doing it or or the framework around the door while the daughter they find the frame around the bottom, probably a 1/4 of the frame's starting now. Okay, So you've got a choice here. One is you can take that whole board off and replace it. And when you do replace it, go back with treated it last much longer. Or and this is the builder builder for state. I'm not sure what you were six years old. Yeah, and I don't know why they don't use treated lumber because They know the water splashing on the concrete is going to cause this issue, And usually they even bevel it at the bottom, which makes it even to me, makes it even worse because it gives it more surface area that that is not the face of it, you know? So what a lot of times people do, though, is they just cut the bottom foot or two off? In space. Another piece on there. Now even very carefully and measure everything out to a T. You can actually cover that joint up and really not see it at all..
