"It was a tough night on sunday night. Football as the chiefs. Lost thirty six to thirty five in baltimore. And after the and flying home chiefs head coach. Andy reid joined the local kansas city media for a zoom conference call and he had the opportunity to answer questions after watching the tape of this loss. Let's go to the chiefs head. Coach here is and you read all right. So listen Of what. I said last night when to good teams. Play each other you. Can't you know these mistakes just get amplified magnified and everything else. So it's a were said here with with two turnovers at a crucial time. The game setting here with The missed tackles more so in the first half in the second but enough there and shedding blocks fundamental things so we were better than that and so getting the right mindset to do so. I mentioned this last night. That's my responsibilities. That football coach. I've got to make sure that our team is playing better than what it is right now and and and we'll get. We've got the right chemistry in the locker room. Who got good players and gonna make sure that we step up our game. We've got a good charger team coming in here. The as as explosive really on both sides. Also we have made sure that we take your business. You punchers let's go. I a piece. Sweeney could beat. It should mention the tackling issues last night and this morning. How challenging is that to fix it on the fly. When maybe you can't clang bang necessarily like you were able to At training camp. Let's be. I thought we better with at the second half and some of that's a mindset not being so cautious rallying to the ball narrowing space for runners Again when you're being blocked shedding and then wrapping up those are all important things and and so but some of it's a mindset that you just have to take care of and So that's where where we go next to aaron land. Good air coast is not really question specific to the baltimore game but just looking across the league. A lot of talk about the new taunting rule. And how it's been enforced I'm wondering what you thought from from the early games and may be via conversation with guys. I know guys like sure their personality and have fun of. Maybe you've had a conversation. Yeah listen we explained to him the tiny roll the officials were in. They talked about it till the guys during camp so Were aware of it. And you see guys bill. Maher cautious with how they go about doing things Only score and so on so. I think You know. I think the officials done okay with that i I haven't seen anything in our games necessarily where they needed to throw flag on either team. So there's celebration but it's always been forget plays and i didn't think it was malicious towards one side of the from what i've seen. It's going to taylor. Good nate and i have two questions for you Just how do you think orlando brown played in his return to baltimore. And then secondly Give us some of the defensive issues. You mentioned earlier What was sort of the thought process and playing. Maybe wants thornhill less This sunday versus obviously against the browns as orlando Actually played very well Going back there you know he. He did a nice job and then I i think listen. I one and Dan i they do certain things the same and a couple of things different but it okay equals out. So i'm dan relieves. Had the you know he'd had the better camp and so on so Maybe a little bit more consistency there but we love. We love lawn and where he's coming. What works getting themselves back to where he was his rookie year and I want to take anything away from the effort that he's put forward to do that but and they they all get a chance apply so i think you know we'll just take it step by step hair and you can't have enough of those guys that can play next to mad derek goodman. Hey coach you mentioned last night. The the two runs on first and second half to win for losses. The kind of ledger getting into some third and long situations in through the first couple of games you know you're averaging just Three point three yards per carry in the run game. Anything you could put your finger on as far as how it's been a little bit difficult to get the run game going for you offensively. Yeah you know we've looked at that And there are there are a couple of days. We have to do And i think the back. Spain used to the the offensive line. And what they're gonna do certain tight situations i think is important and they build build the more they do it. Oh build confidence there. You know we'll hit it even a little bit quicker than what we're doing right now but i would anticipate getting better as we go on here. The losses were the thing that really probably heard us mad. I mean that you know. We had multiple penetration are a couple of plays and those. Those bad situation connects to todd. Lebeau tom coach last night. You were talking about clydes fumbled near the end. You hadn't had a chance to really look at it. Did you go back and see it yet. Did you have the ball in the right protection. Or is this kind of one of those plays and then is he someone as a young player who you might need to kinda help confidence wise after play like that in a big spot at solis. I mean. we're not putting the blame on anybody. Who takes her a message on how we roll and things happen. I mean that's the element of the game. And he's working through the land. Scrimmage with the ball you know thinking learn is as opposed possibly switching arms. Just keep that thing tight. Just cover with two hands and enroll But is not a fumble or mess not his deal and and then they'll be he'll be fine with it. I mean i think i'll players trust so But he can learn this. If we learn from mistakes we made the. We're gonna be a better team and and you gotta grow together in it. Sometimes there some highs lows of say in your work through it and try to get yourself better as coaches employees.

"Often ask me of prosecuting. The mob is like the movies well. there is violence. He cracks his guys over the head. And pop. Just like a melon pop. There are hits so it wasn't just permission to to take a map permission to take out his own nephew but after taking down over one hundred mobsters. I can tell you this. The real thing is much more interesting. I'm elliot hoenig former mob prosecutor and host of the new podcast up against the mob up against the mob lifts the veil on the world's most secretive criminal organization la cosa nostra. We'll talk to prosecutors former mobsters an undercover agents and unlike hollywood all these stories are true. New episodes drop every wednesday starting september eighth. Listen and follow up against the mob on apple podcasts. Spotify or your favorite podcast app just heard from chiefs head coach. Andy reid and wide receiver mccoll hardman. Now you'll hear from chief safety one thornhill blow good to see you just want to ask you What if any you take away from. Plan the ravens the last couple years for this game. And what do you think worked so well in causing the show to fumble in the third quarter with rain is up to like a heck of a team. They got pretty much. Every single. piece named apple quarterback that can run an through-ball so he can beat you with both on aunt legs and then they just keep costly ad and receivers like people like sammy. Simmons exposed to receive it. He can take the top at any point in time and then we've got five that that's running. Would four three. Maybe invested in med. They can take the top off so it's going to be a good challenge This week so we just gotta come in with the right mentality to to play as hard as we can. Because we know it's gonna be a dogfight regardless. Nate had a part to their go ahead. Yeah one just wanted to Reminding us of what worked well for you on the Causing the shelter fumble the football in the third quarter kind of as a moment for you guys so most of the time guy they see like there's a bunch of teammates around ball candidate until they don't typically get in on top of bowling like i just been to stand around as what i wanted to get in on getting a taco as well so i just saw opportunity for me to shoot it and got the softball. He put my my hat right on the ball. I guess i got kind of luck you now about that. one out us go next to pete sweeney. Good the one talk to tire earlier that we can he. He did note a slower. Start for you in last game but then you were really coached up and you took to the coaching. I obviously a really really good second half for you. What were some of the things that maybe merit and madison were telling you that maybe lead to more successful second part of that game for you. You know like it's been a while. Since i was out there with the ones i mean i was getting reps in practice. But it wasn't like with the games i just had to get the feel for the game. 'cause like planning. Preseason is always a little bit slower than planned in the regular season like everyone knows that and with just i mean i had a slow start not just took took my time. Then get to Don't dinka to work belton to dislike. Stay really calm and then just played as hard as i could. Coach meghan co sandwiches telling me keep playing my game. Beat a person in the plant dead. They know who i am. And then that's pretty much already said. I just stay often in. Wasn't trying to force too many plays plays you start coming to go next to karen kornacki. Go miss karen. How are you. i'm good. How are you. I hate is practicing against patrick. Mahomes help you in anyway. Prepare for quarterback like lamar jackson. I mean brexit brexit against panic. Every day just makes everything so much. Easier like pat is at the top of the game. He's like number one number two quarterback in nfl and out obscene many quarterbacks like mosley. Just got a quarterback. Nick in look right broke left like is. It can't get any harder than had been definitely like a post player or something like that so For like planning his bed helps us alive just because he may to make every single throat and he also biju his legs as low as you've seen before we'd get to moral go todd lebeau than met derek. Go talk a couple of things here. One i on that. How do you guys do scout team for lamar jackson who who goes and plays quarterback for the scout team you got. I mean we got quarterbacks that can run a little bit. But i don't think anyone can really run like lamar as amused. Just he has a totally different sneeze. Who might have a guy that just like just a blazer. It's like trying to find the fastest pasta like we don't really care like your door go by just china run as fast as you say like him and he had a couple of fumbles last week one of them on a run and you know you obviously want to put your head in there and try to get the ball out. Do you have to be more aware of trying to do things like that with a running quarterback because maybe he gets a little looser with it when he gets down the field. I mean you always trying to take advantage of things like that. If you guys like running with the ball loose guys might try to go in and punch at it but so just take advantage of and don't try to change your game and try to like force to get the ball. That's when you start missing tackles and things like that. Just let it come to you. And if she's opportunity take over. The last two met derek. Hey wanda into coaches talked about building up your confidence and that third damn break-up but you know midway through the fourth quarter there how big was that how. How big is a play like that for you as far as just restoring your confidence in telling you that you know you're back where you wanna be. I mean it's a huge play. Just like third down. When she made played a crowd goes crazy. I mean does it shows that you can do it like that's pretty much it. I mean with me. I didn't feel like it was like anything different. I just then just play the football and you make an play. It makes you feel better like it shows that you can do everything that you weren't long. We appreciate the today. Thanks for.

"It's friday meaning a zoom press conference to close the week and today the chiefs put up head coach. Andy reid linebacker. Anthony hitchens left tackle orlando brown junior and finally because of it being read friday chiefs president. Mark donovan. so we'll listen to read and hitchens. We'll take a quick break and turn it over to brown and donovan first up. Here is the head coach of the kansas city chiefs. Like we gave him just arrest as he's making progress grade and then Tyron practice still on protocol and will just say seattle. Thanks go here Everybody else we could do that. Look for the challenge of playing the browns football team. We we know that we've got a good week practice and look for the plan here in our time. We'll be good her coach. Obviously the big one. I'll get this one out of the way. I have two questions for you with tiring nasty situation. Though you said you'll see how things will go. What is your optimism level that you can't take this up to the twelve hour. And hopefully he'll pass his test and and be able to play on sunday now. Listen we're just going to say i'll go. We've got the other guys who practice and are ready to go if he can't go you can't go to can't weekend. And lastly frank clark howard and he looked practices pass. Megan how what kind of role you see him playing on sunday. Yeah now listen works darden. They look pretty good. you know. We'll see those within two. He is triggered the last few days. Next to sam mcdowell and it just had an fbi question. I wonder what she's out about Your alma mater. Byu joining the big twelve. Yeah they finalize that. Oh that's great. That's phenomenal yeah. Good people there than it deserve. They deserve that opportunity. so great to pete sweeney. Good coach dating back to the initial weekend training camp and not. This guy's been trying to get the legs back under one thornhill to an extent maybe thrown into the fire this weekend. I know we don't know but have you seen him progress From training camp starting now lead into potentially a bigger role in week one. Yeah spurrier defined. I mean that's not. He's he's good week of practice a couple of weeks of practice here so we have full trusted him. It's going to harold koontz good health and it's nothing like the real thing and especially for those rookies. You have on the team just discussions with them on. Just how ready there are for the atmosphere of arrowhead one than to just getting prepared. Put up real thing. And the cleveland browns. Listen there's not the light throw. I mean that's a good point We've talked about it. It's loud and especially if you're on the defensive side you really got focused and make sure that you get all the calls and and you know that you hear them and or see signal so that becomes important in on the offense of sign again. Obviously there's gonna be louder than normal so it's got to be. Yeah be sharp. You've got to be focused in gallatin affect your game in any negative way at all last. Two todd lebeau good at a couple of things. I coach on just fans who maybe don't know how it works on. The kobe. front on testing at this point is tiring the only one who will could be in the protocol or their another testing things. That happened today or tomorrow for anyone no are. We were moving moving forward..

"Think backs nation a great thing. I think it's going to get us through to spend they make But i think it's also a personal choice like you should not judge people. I think it's a it's important to have a conversation and you know i. I believe that we have the greatest protocol huge in the nfl with testing the mask and so on. And what are you. Decide to get vaccinated. we're going to be able to protect the players and that's what matters. You know the extent. Todd lebeau good larry. What was i. I saw you on several like national stories and things like that. We haven't really had a chance to talk to you. You can you kind of encapsulate what it was like last year to do what you were doing. And were you able to on sundays. Watch chiefs games. What how did you kind of work through that. Were you on called in working. How did that go I mean it's been a pretty challenging year. I think for all of us For me personally like you know. I went back and help in long term care facility in different capacity sometime i was a nurse sometime. I was a northerly resident. Like i was basically helping where help is needed and It was tough like we lost a lot of patient and we know that long term care facility were pretty badly affected but I think at the end of the daily you know looking back at this year Being able to edge the chiefs on sunday that was kind of the thing that keeps me keeping me grounded. And i it was. It was fun. It was fun to watch my teammates. Frontier stay in touch with them as well throughout the season. Even though i wasn't there. I don't regret my decision. I think i. I wasn't the right place at the right moment and i was able to put my medical training to use But for sure like watching game on sunday. Couldn't be proud of the guys and also like mondays going to work in long-term jefferson and going from patients room to patient room and in watching the replays from the game with you scrub your visor and your gown. That was that was pretty cool. You know the patient were also behind the chiefs. A chiefs kingdom South shore montreal next to sam miller. Road sam larry. I hear you say just in that you. You don't regret the decision. I think we all can understand. Why did you miss football. I don't mean this in that old tired like does he love football enough. But did you feel like you had a foot in both worlds at our. Did you feel completely detached from this and into what you were doing. I mean football is in your dna. I remember throughout november december as we were heading the playoffs like sometime on thursday. I would wake up and be like okay. is it a. Is it a a shell practice. Full speed practice. I i. I kept asking myself those question because i miss football. Yeah of course i do. You wanna play football. That's that's why. I trained so hard and you know the last time. I put a helmet on before. Today was the super bowl in miami and we wanted so. There is a great memories from from playing football with these guys in. And i want to build chemistry back and hopefully get a starting job in order to contribute to the team this year. Going to go welcome back. Wanted to ask you what you thought. The last year has done for you in football sense. Did you feel. There's any concern on your part. Maybe you're not going to be the same player you worry before you laughter or maybe has the year away from football. Maybe saved a year wear and tear and can extend your career. How do you feel about all that off. A little bit of both to be honest. I think we'll see throughout the next couple of weeks and has were heading into training camp. How i feel as so far. I feel great. You know like you said being away from the game for a year of of course you rusty a little bit but at the same time. I've never been clean and squad as much as i did throughout the past year. So i feel in great shape and hopefully it's going to be able to translate on the field this year next to mackenzie nelson gordon. Mackenzie larry. i was just curious what your thoughts are on how sports at all levels not just professional but college in high school handled navigating the pandemic practicing playing just overall getting some of these seasons in after having them taken away your before. I'm just what are your thoughts on that. Well you know what it was never to say that we shouldn't be playing sports Into dozen. And twenty i i feel like through the pandemic through like a ton of things that divide deepal. Sport is probably one of the last thing that brought people together. So no i think I think everybody did everything they can. In order to make sport happen. And i think it was great for people like people. The fans needed it. Everybody went through ups and downs. Route two thousand and twenty and to be able to like watch the chiefs watch. Your team performed a high level. Even though there's pandemic going on. I think it's a it's a great thing. It's like the connective tissue of our society. Go next to sam mcdowell. Go sam and brad. I'll have a follow up to this as well Larry the first thing. I'm gonna ask you mentioned that. The gyms reclosed. What were you doing specifically to keep yourself in shape. I mean you can watch on my instagram i. I built a little gym on my balcony. And i worked out outside. Because that's all i was allowed to do Through quarantine and curfew and so on for last year. I had a pretty good setup Don't get me wrong. It was cold. But i had some Here's on the side. And so on. And i basically trained like four times a week for the past year so i feel in pretty good shape. The second thing i wanted to ask this Got i would assume a better taste of the field. You wanna get into the nfl than probably ever before did it reinforce it. That's what you wanna do or or give you any second guesses about it. I think it reinforces the fact that for me. My calling is promoting health knowing whether it's medicine or public health or other platform that's what i what i'm going to be doing post career and even during my career and i started also a master degree at harvard and public health throughout the season. Because i think as a professional athlete you almost have that duty to get involved to promote something that you believe in and for me using the nfl platform and tribune that. I'm so privileged to have to promote something bigger than just one interaction with patient. I think it's gonna it's something that one Look at We'll take five more. We'll go right down. The line segment. Nate go date or you good to see you. I have a question for you. What in the last year did you want to sort of prove to yourself in terms of your return on the field. And what you can do that. Maybe you wouldn't have had given the year off in the secondly Just was it light to be in the offensive line room. Now given that mitch eric. Aren't there anymore and you have a lot of new guys. Obviously creed joe orlando brown name. A few just. Just what's it been like to to to know what you can get better at with a year off and obviously been in a new within a new core. I don't mean to cut you off. But my english is a little bit rusted. Because i spoke french for the last year. Can you just say that first question one more time though you're telling me five minutes Just what are you feel like. You know you can get better rat in your return and you're going into a new offensive line room. I mean you can get better at everything you know. In two thousand and twenty was a was a good year. Nineteen actually in leading up to the super bowl was a good year. But you can always improve. So that's That's what i'm looking at like. I feel like i'm in great shape. I wanna use that term at my vintage and then it's just making sure that i didn't lose any of the iq football stuff and you know the speed of the game and so on so for me watching film. Is it going to be big this year. I just making sure that. I can anticipate in also playing with my teammates. And it's kind of leading up into your second question It's a new group out there but it's crazy how they welcomed me today. I really i really love that. I feel like we're gonna have a great group of guys I know wildly. I know a nickel agree. But everybody else is new. But they're just they're just awesome dude. So i'm pretty excited to be here on the braxton matt derek. Good met laurent..

"Derrick gordon may create. I know you got to come up here after the draft. And you've got no. I'm curious about what you've learned a little bit so far about this team about the fan base and has the brand any moment so far in the last couple of weeks that you've pinch yourself and realize that. Hey you know what i'm in the nfl. There's definitely those moments Completely until i got up here for for the rookie minicamp so I'm just so excited to be up here you know. Obviously the fans are some of the best in the league. The team is one of the best leagues. I'm coming into a great spot in the united. Can't wait to get to work. Todd lebeau go john. You guys Last year you don't know if you've talked in the euro old oklahoma teammates who didn't get to have in person rookie minicamp and if that kind of hurt them. How how happy. I guess are fortunate. Are you to get to actually get on the field and be a part of it and you talked to any of your your estimates in and how it was kind of weird to do it all virtually last year. Yeah i didn't really talk to anybody about it You know. I'm just excited other. Get to work so fortunately we were able to communicate industry. I'm excited to get to work. Get better in a you know really get comfortable. You're the last piece but agreed. I know you're a senator. But we've seen a tendency with heck and read to rotate guys in different positions during off season training camp. Have they told you that. You're just going to be focusing on the center position or will you be doing some rotating. What what do you know about that. Yeah i just got here. So i'll be. I'll be trying out different spots. And i'm just you know ready to come in and compete so whether it be senator wetherby god whether it be tackled coming in here to compete and that's all creed.

"We start with jillian because she won the game of the week by a lot of points. Jillian league yeah so this state is actually something that what am. I really good contacts. Todd lebeau who runs a send to their source that i use and basically every piece of content that i write. He hit me up on linked in last week and set me some new research that he did with orbit media all about how b. b. marketers view their website versus how visitors view their website. And it's actually really comical data because when you b. to b. marketers about the website features that they thought were most important and then you ask the b. two b. website visitors the same question. There's a lot of gaps so the funniest one that i thought was just like typical marketers. Eighty percent of marketers said that calls to action. We're an important website feature okay. Only twenty eight percent of visitors thought so but then the simplest feature on a website. Which is your search box okay. So sixty. nine percent of visitors was like yeah. Search boxes are important. Only twenty six percent of marketers thought that the search box important so i think this is really comical. Shows how marketers are just trying hard sometimes. They're so in their head making sure that there's a proper call to action. And so buttoned up and like sometimes. They're not thinking about the most basic customer expectations like the ability to search and find something us. That's a really good. I liked that there was a there is some research where whereas ask people. What do you think the most important thing to you and then asks them. What do you think is the most important thing to society and for society. They think it celebrity and for them celebrities literally the last thing. That's important to them and so interesting the kind of paradox. The basically the difference between what people point to people and what they think is important to others. that's fascinating Let's go with nina where you go. I knew you ben. I'll be some last minute. While the other week text of friends for some identify data shambles and it was great. Does i mean i just about the abysmal oscars ratings today so they originally said nine point. Eight five million viewers they just like recalculated i guess added a few now ten point four which makes it sound a little less terrible than like single digits. Wins suspect but this is right. I mean last year was like twenty regardless. It's still there down. Wow damon shed is they nine. Madeleine's i didn't didn't watch anything. Process bad is that. Is that the new bar the bombing. That's where i live. I'm he's amazing in this country Good thanks nina blakeway. So there's been a lot of stuff in the news lately about different brands. Stelling used are slightly warren nor refurbished products so at nike launched a refurbishment programme. And i i think. I believe it was this week or last week. That blue lemon also announced that they are going to have their own second hand market for their clothing and there was some data from civic science. That they they surveyed. Us consumers in mid april and they found that eighty one percents said that they are not likely at all to buy a pair of gently. Warren like new or imperfect shoes from nike's new refurbishment program. So i think you know right off the bat even though it sort of seems like you know especially with in sneaker culture. There's a huge resale market at our sort of surprised to see so many people are interested even for a win. A brand like nike is mentioned. So it leads me to believe that the baby consumers are not as interested in purchasing these types of second hanner gently used clothing as brands might be anticipated. Thank did you leave the company again. Another job working for civic science way did you have you figured out my my my rotation obscene working pacific sides has anyone checked has. Hr check this to see if blake still employed with us. I mean we do have a good relationship with civic site meets able to ask sites proprietary questions before but i like global web index civic science and morning. Console ter- always. They always have like the stuff. That's like chance to marketing and like e commerce but like they also have great questions about like how many americans what type of milk eat bacon and the interests of the american role family. Was it the american royal family. Yeah so good so goods we'll play. Our founders sends a really good email out every saturday that i read over the weekend. Oh if you subscribe to that one. Blake be written by blake. I i think it's in by blake. Let's it's all part of the creator economy right exactly. Two quick ones why. The leaning tower of pisa is leaning. The reason leading the entire appeasers leaning is tilted is the same reason that is still standing. If you've ever wondered why it's leaning it's due to the soft soil beneath the building surface while that might have frustrated. The people who constructed the lamach figure this out like eight stories into building it started to tilt and they apparently bowed through. I would wish to stop this project. Something's wrong they pound through and they The engineers that the soil was partly what protects the building from earthquakes. The tower's height stiffness as well as the softness of the soil the building's foundation causes the vibration characteristics of the structure to be modified substantially in such a way that the tower does not resonate with earthquake ground motion coding to phase dot org. Interestingly as well. The bbc reported a few years ago. The leaning tower of pisa was apparently straightening slightly and has been for the last two decades even if it maintained that current rate though there was a professor and consultant to the building's restoration group was saying that even if it continued to correct itself which is told the new york times. Take four hundred years for it to fully straighten story. Well then there's plenty of time for everyone who hasn't gone to take their picture with the leaning tower of pisa to go get it. It's pretty cool or they don't picture. Yes but the building next to julian. I thought was nicer. It's this huge cathedral looking to the left that yeah. It is nicer. Yes gorgeous. And i got to stand at that. Meeting meaning market has exactly the second thing for you. The first movie ever to release a soundtrack was snow. White and the seven dwarfs there are plenty of classical film soundtracks. The movie music lovers enjoy listening to over and over again. But first films ever commercially released soundtrack disney's snow white. "But it's a tough one. You know, digs is so important to what the bills do that she's kind of have a lot of guys that you kind of go to, But Kelsi always seems to be that steady, constant guy who's there? You know, Tyreke, you will have an insane game. They'll have kind of game, right. But Travis is just kind of like you look at his game log. It's pretty ridiculous. How consistent consistent he's been, and he's always kind of their on if they need A little something to right the ship right? It's dirty, whatever. And they just although others Travis Kelsey, he's open so I would give a little baby lead to Travis Kelsey. Maybe. But Diggs is super important He's made to build so much better this year. You know, there's not a doubt about it. One of the best 12 punches in the in the National Football League. Todd, My last question for you is I'm trying to figure out What's missing about Eric? The enemy getting a head coaching gig. And obviously, Chiefs fans probably don't mind. Patrick Holmes probably doesn't mind. They want him to be out there the ZOC forever. What's What are we missing in this story about why he has not been hired away when it seems like every other successful coordinator husband? I don't have a good answer for you there. I really don't. I'm not these interviews. So it's dumbfounding to me. Sometimes I thought initially thought Coach community It can be a little, you know, hyped up. Sometimes. I thought maybe he was. Maybe he didn't interview great or whatever. But when I saw Dan Campbell, come out, talk about de caps. I'm like, Well, I don't know. I don't understand. Why has he got the job? No, there's a little bit of You know, there's been some rumblings he's clearly has something could have happened in a d U I. And then he got in trouble on the Colorado campus when he was in his twenties, and you still playing for the charges those things they don't seem to be on the surface. Anything that would preclude you from being an NFL coach. But maybe there's something besides that that we have no clue about. But it seems impossible in today's world that we don't know stories like that. So I don't have a good answer for you. I thought I knew, But then I saw a guy talking about it Kneecaps and now I have no clue. Yeah, I was gonna say Dan Campbell. I think the Dean Campbell um, conversation or his opening pressure has brought up a lot of questions in many different ways that one about Stafford is not going to have to probably deal with as he is the request of the trade granted, one tied. Hopefully, it's a hell of a game coming up in the championship game. And you guys, at least the Chiefs are looking to repeat for the first time as Super Bowl champions 0304 pats history in the making, man. Enjoy the ride and we'll talk to you soon. Yeah. Should be fun. I did see a tweet last night from the Bills, Mafia people actually bringing their own table, sir Casey out, so I don't know It's a shame that there's not gonna be 75,000 people there because this would be the best parking lot you ever saw in your life. But 15,000 people will be pretty cool. Tell getting there There are that is incredible. Todd LeBeau joining US Sports Radio 18 and Kansas City. Have you ever had a chance to get a right? Katie. I'm not. I've never been. No, it's awesome. Azaz, A guy that grew up around SEC campuses and things that college football is the Cadillac of corralled atmospheres. Would say, along with the 12th man in Seattle that Kansas City in Arrowhead have by far what I think one of the greatest home field advantage is in the NFL, and you know again, and we talked about it even last week in your absence of just having the fans in the stands this year. In some capacity around 8 9000, which I think that's what they all have. Maybe 10,000 for the game in Arrowhead. That makes a difference. And I think fully lost in this whole cove in 19 world of a lost year is that I appreciate fans more than ever before, and what they mean to every single one of our sporting events, and especially when it comes to playoff football or in big time College football games, but mostly in the NFL. Were that made a difference. And I think even 27,000 fans will make a difference for Green Bay and Kansas City today. For sure does. I mean, remember when the Bills played the Colts and that first game first round game and fans were crying. Everyone you spoke to, or heard from Stefan Diggs, Josh Alan Alan John McDermott. They all said. There wasn't many fans in our stands, but you could hear him especially late in the game. And they said that made all the difference in the world. These athletes they want to play and perform for those people who are watching them their faithful and so I think it makes a huge difference. While I haven't been to Arrowhead. I have been to Lambeau Field and I will say when I went when I was living in Milwaukee, working for the Bucks, it was the coldest football game I have ever been to. And I.

"Insurance, Super Bowls going to be set a little bit later today. Monster trade on the horizon, Matt Stafford gonna be on the move from the Detroit Lions. Where is he headed next? Also huge UFC fighting some more of our sports executive orders here in this last hour. Follow us on Twitter at Katie. George. Katie underscored Georgia five myself at Peter Burns ESPN as we get ready for a championship game weekend. Joining us right now, Todd LeBeau Sports radio 8 10 in Kansas City. Todd. I want to play this clip real quick. This is patched Mahomes and his pressure talking about the concussion protocol. Check it out. Yeah, I actually just got out of the protocol. The week has just been a bunch of testing a bunch of different things to make sure that that I'm I'm good to go, and there's no lingering affection. Anything like that. But everything's been good, and I went through it all the 34 different doctors have said everything looked well and I'm out of there now. How much was the city of Kansas City and Chiefs fans on pins and needles this week waiting for that news? Well, we kind of thought it would happen that way. But you never know. Right. So we were on that doom on Friday, and Coach Reid comes on first the chief PR and told us we will get a quarterback because that's the rules, right? They didn't say which quarterback so when Patrick get on, he literally in the 10 minutes between Coach Reid and Travis Kelsey talking to Patrick is when he was cleared, so they were just like, all right, Patrick's next No, it was just one of those things to the city with, like. There was definitely a big sigh of relief for chief saying, But I kind of felt it was coming all along because of what we heard coming out of Arrowhead since basically Sunday night. Thought. It's obviously huge news that Patrick's going to be a quarterback, No denying that. But what does it mean for Kansas City that Clyde Edwards whole area is also going to be able to play in today's game? But you know he's going to play. I just don't know how effective he is going to be. He has not done anything on the NFL field during the game since he got hurt in that Saints game If he's 80% of what he was, that's great news, but But if he's not as effective as he is, you know, maybe he was here. But best game of the year was probably gets buffalo. Then who knows what it's gonna be that they're going to need it because I don't think Levy on Belle's gonna be available, But Clyde is a big part of it For sure, There's no doubt And I'm curious to see what he looks like when he gets out there on the field because that was a pretty devastating looking injury that he suffered down in New Orleans. Yeah, without it on you Mention the game against Buffalo in week six. The chief's rush for 245 yards and that win. Much in part thanks to Clyde Edwards. Hilaire. What else sticks out about the way that they performed in that? 26 17 when What? What? What sticks out to me is they didn't try to stick a square peg in a round home. Write. The bills were saying run the ball, So they said, Okay, you know Andy Reid just like to run the ball 40 times in a game, but they didn't because that's what they had. And in the 25 or six attempts to Patrick had he was great, right, which is what you expect out of him now. Sometimes Andy would get in the deal where he just tried to throw it all the time. That's what the bill did last week, but they throw the ball 17 18 times and wrote to start the game. I think that's what sticks out to me is the chief's took what they got, and they just got out of Buffalo. We could win. If you recall. That was the weird five o'clock in the afternoon Monday game against all the covert scheduling there, just like we got to get up to Buffalo, get a win and get out and they did it in any way they could. Hardly Bo's horse radio 8 10. Wh be in Kansas City. What scares you, You know, let's take away from the media member Todd Lee. Well, let's talk about if your Chiefs fan what scares you about what the bills are doing, how they've looked the last couple of games in this one. What scares you. The chief stand would be if Josh Allen is what you've seen Josh into a lot of time this year, because he's incredible. He and Stefan Diggs or a special combination. You know, the chief had that with Patrick Holmes and Terry killed But you know, he was not very good last week against the Ravens, right? They only scored, you know, three offensive points are 10 offensive points, not 17. And he was just kind of OK in his first playoff game against the cold. Anything scary, scary player. I mean, he is something else so that if you see the best of Josh and I think we've got our hands, we have will have an epic showdown in her hands. But if we get kind of that Halfway scared Josh on we saw in the playoffs last year against Houston or that a little bit, you know off in the kind of bad weather last week against the Ravens and may not be that great of a game. Because we know the chiefs are battle tested and they're going to do what they do. But if Josh Town is at his best, they could be a very scary team because they were putting up some insane numbers at the last half of the year. Was there denying Right, like Josh Alan and stiff on digs have been phenomenal all season long. Obviously, one of my Holmes's favorite targets is Travis Kelsey. That's why they're one and the two in the league right now, Who do you think between Kelsey and Stefan Diggs is more important to the success of their overall team?.

"Expert or let an expert filed for you. You deserve from andy. Reid and eric b enemy and now we continue on with steve. Spagnuola does beautiful outside just got done with a great practice We got blessed with a nice day. A weather on january twenty first so with that. I'll open it up. Go i the karen kornacki care. I coach fags are you today. I'm doing great. Can you tell me the progress of josh allen. How he's progressed since week. Six in film that you're looking at yeah listen We thought he was pretty good when we played them in week six. But just the way they functioned in these last ten twelve weeks whatever. It's been highly efficient very confident. See real confident football player. He's not afraid to make any throw from any spot. You know most of these guys you say make them go in a certain direction these weaker but this is an athletic quarterback. that's big. He's tough to tackle. I think he's functioning in the offense that bryant has been very very well next. todd lebeau. it's been a while since you've played these guys and it was kind of an unusual kind of weather weird monday afternoon gain did you that you saw the best of them that day offensively and in do they look as a group like they've gotten better as the seasons. Yeah no question. I mean look good. I think we're getting ready to play a football. It's always hard to play a team twice in a league in season. I mean we know that it's hard to be team twice the team. Three times And so that's what we're faced with and we certainly expect the level of their play to certainly go way up big. You're right about the weather. There might have changed things. A little bit We're fully expecting most difficult task of the season. Big quarterback wideouts all over the place offensive line. That's function well together. And i don't think we should fall asleep on the run game. I think that running back is a good football player Everybody comes in and tries to run. The football on us on us in some people have some sex success. Some don't so we're ready for everything. Miguel on. You got some some sort of questions at cornerback. In the sense. That didn't play last week in. I've got a shot railing going through the concussion protocol. Various play multiple roles this year. Does that affect what i mean. Are you asking them to do different things in practice this week in anticipation that he could do different things than the game. Pretty sam because that is a. That's something we're dancing around right now. Look at you like to have all your guys. All your body's in the right spots this time of year But we are going through some things. That are a little bit in flux. Were a little uncertain and some spots. hopefully it. It'll clear itself up by sunday or certainly before that we guys ready but it happens in the middle of the gain. We have to be prepared. An assistant coaches terrific job. They've merit sam madison. Do a great job back there rolling guys through you know we have a plan either way to what your address in san if certain guys can't go and let's hope let's hope most about guys can make it to begin next to nate taylor. Grenade good to see you actually want to follow up on sam's question about legit areas He's you guys all year. Two part question is just what jumped out to you. Most about legitimizing his first postseason game in what were your observations of him when he did have to go to the outside late against the browns. Yeah it's really good point because he didn't get a lot of reps at the corner spot because we were getting reading from the plate nickel but you're talking about a guy that it's really in the football. I watch him in the meetings. And how attentive. E is i. Watch him take notes and the ipad. Which i still don't know how to do. But he writes on that thing and then he moves it and whole thing but listen. He's a guy that's you know kind of well beyond his years as far as a He doesn't play like a rookie. He certainly didn't last week a love the way he plays. He loves playing football. He's passionate about it. I would like not to move people all over the place. So let's hope you know healthy enough that we can keep them in the spot that we've had and again again You know i say this. Most of the times we talk about l. We're talking about a guy that did not get any reps and training camp at the nickel spot. So he's kind of learning on the run. Hopefully we've cut it all covered by now because it's pretty important game. We'll take a couple more will go pete. Swinging and adam teicher goodfeet curious about the problem. That is stefan dig. Seems like every week. Everybody knows he's coming yet. He's still puts up a ton of production. Just how do you wrap your head on on defending well. We're hoping we can do it. We do. I mean we know our guys get up there and press as much as we can but Listen he finds ways to beat that You know he can. he can force us into penalties. That hurt us a little bit last time. We played them But we won't change too much what we do. We do have to focus on him. A certain calls that we have certain situational football and we'll do that And when that happens you know the other guys cover and what. What is there other talent Beazley's still good player and they got some other guys that can run pretty good on the outside Have to get the job then. Go last adam. Teicher go out on steve a couple of things about tire matthew. I'm you talked about your. Maybe you're not gonna have some of your guys a corner. How does his versatility. Maybe help you through a situation like that and brattle had one quick. Follow up as well. Yeah i mean listen you saw last week in the cleveland game There were times we had to move him back in the slot. The luxury of having a guy like tyrant is you know that he's going to prepare himself to play all the positions we ask him to do and you can trust that. He's gonna know what he has to do. There's only you know in this league. Not everybody can be estado. Not everybody can get the reps turn season practice so there were guys that have to go in and play spots in a game. That really haven't had those live reps in practice that tyrants one of those guys that can do it And fortunately for us when we start to get banged up out there we can move him around. So it's a it's a luxury for us and you said last week. He talked on one of those guys who makes all the other guys around him. A better player. How much of that has to do with this versatility that you can do this. You can do that and maybe you can play to another guy strength. Yeah i think that's a. I think that's a valid point when you can move a guy around that you say. Hey there's a new guy at that position but he knows what he's doing and we're going to be okay. I think everybody feels good about that. that and look at the just the energy he brings and you know what he's saying to guys whether it's on the sideline or in the huddle i think they just trust them. They believe in them The guys winner and he's made place for us. And i think when you can get as many of those guys. Can you be a better unit. Aren't we appreciate the time. Thanks thank you say. You talk a little bit about josh allen. Have you seen him progress. I mean you guys. I'm really are the season but now that they're playing on this streak what tendencies. What do you see from this quarterback. He's coming.

"In for these amazing stories and other on spotify apple youtube. Or wherever you get your favorite podcasts. Heard from chiefs head coach. Andy reid and quarterback patrick mahomes and now we continue on with wide receiver. Mccoll hartman mccall. I was just wondering from twenty to twenty twenty in. What ways do you feel that you've grown as receiver products is more more awareness of what's going on coverage of the playbook youssef in general Playing freely They might run into got better They might like. I said recognize the coverages and just nor wanted to be in chemistry. Pat ruin all those aspects and continue to keep growing season goethe san. Miguel go sam. We haven't talked to you since the tampa game. Patrick took the blame for that pass for looked wide open. But we obviously don't know the assignments. I wonder if you could kinda describe what happened on that flight. Yeah is a like a like a vertical route of feel. They kind of looted coverage. Now you know. I was kinda like wide open I think he's one of those moments. It was just like more so they. I can't believe he just wide open. I think it was. I think it was patsy. Larkin believe is wide open but At indy i gotta make that catch Stopping faster or just whatever man i gotta make cash it just got on the same page and more to the next place next to her. Bdo gunnery gunnery mikolasik. We haven't talked to you i. It's been a while. And i have to ask this question because you spent two weeks on the covert reserve list. What led to that listing. And what did you learn about yourself especially also that the pandemic when you spend two weeks away from the team I mean. I guess you can get it from anywhere multiple ways you know. Just i mean it's a it's a virus that we don't know how to contain right now. I'm in the best way to do is just go to work and go home and and somewhere in between dad some happening but thank god. I have no sentinels and nothing like that i was. I was perfectly fine and I had to just do the the ten days needed to do. Got on a bye week. Which is good. I ain't no miss. No significant tom to team and you know they need me. I was there for the game. So yeah just gotta be commanded. It'd be aware of your surroundings and and you know all this everything wash hands you know sanitize everything and just say those ricardo's i know that'd be the best way to prevent it physically. We're symptoms that you may have had an. How long did it take for you to get over it now. Had none at all honestly. I would perfectly fine like i am now Didn't even know. I even was a risk of having you know And today told me and So but like i say like fortunately. I didn't have any that. That i was on a bye week. So as we're for my tenure following week go to map mcmullen good man. I'm just looking at miami. One of the best defense in football. You're looking at them. Film much that unique packages do they blitz from They got some good guys on the back end Guys who guys up front as well. So he's going to be a challenge for us. You know going into the game. I think we can handle it on their word if we're going to do to be disciplined about it and and whatever they thought us if we can adjust to very well on a fly even he no This seeing it at a while we got there made made the plays that we need to make. That will be our right. Online starring with saran goodson one. Play the game as an out to your right as you went out and Patrick threw the ball your way and it didn't end up getting completed. It looked like he was gesturing. The cameras on tv had got got him a gesture. Like hey you're supposed to come back on that. Can you just describe what that route is other options you know. I think it's probably a lot more complex. What's going on out there as to what you see. And you and the quarterback to be on the on the same page. What happened on that route as you recall out route for sure Db honestly made a great break on a on a ball as well Become a bag on the decline. My route At the top. For sure i think. I think the ball be kinda fast At the point of you know the point of my break into bog me pretty fast and But i got nowhere. Pass looking for and But like i say db s admitted a a great britain. I had them going He stopped very weller dom actually in non but Definitely at a point on my breaking off. So i can give pat a better you know targeted those fish on my body trying to keep me a band or something like that so on come at Negative on on route connects. Todd lebeau going to tell immigration. We don't get a chance to talk much kinda old college stuff because we get you guys as often. You're not gonna play against to a here because you're on offense and he's on offense but can you take us back to that took national title game when you guys were playing and it even consider he was someone who gonna come in a game and what was it like to see kind of the performance. He didn't and can you imagine yourself years later. You guys are playing each other against each other in the league. Yeah toured great quarterback man. He did think of alabama He's doing his thing. It'd office as well and we'll have a great career Better georgia didn't got hurt. has come toward the back of cuvee and start having a good game miatas. The i'm i'm talking about. How he did at the special you know. I think we just messed up a lot. You know. I think he he came in and he just made it right though. I mean freaking third and twenty three seconds twenty eighth. That blow occurred on the backgammon game. Should have been over man but He he do supposed to do. But then i think that following year when he came in ashes the solidifies thank. He made a name for So that he was he was really the best. Qb in college. So by that time. Over the last eight.

"Oh so what are you looking for. When you're trying to determine what time would wind put in the second unit is certain score certain time in the game. What are you looking for. Kind of movement on both sides Just where we're at the score obviously starts that thought process but are you. Are you safe doing that. And still You know being able to get those guys that opportunity to play and you never know when they're going to be in the game plan In a normal situation so And then listen they. All bus are tail during the week. And it gives them an opportunity to to feel a part of it and So that all of that kind of goes into the thank you day. Yeah todd lebeau good coach. I wonder if you could speak to how kinda your defensive backfield has had that works through lots of different things if you're with suspensions and injuries and and all that and how how well they ended up playing for you. I missed a this cutting out for whatever reason. I don't know what's going on so just give it to me one more time. Your defensive backfield with all the different changes and know suspensions and injuries and how they'd kind of battled through all of that and continued to kind of get the job done for you they. They've done a nice job. Mirrored sam They've they've they've done is job of keeping everything to get there and and teaching all the guys and the veteran players I think they've done. They've done that well. And the guys all trust each other and they've they've worked a man a little bit like what we talk more about. When andy heck lose the offense other do the same thing in the secondary so when a guy has an op jump in as not foreign. That's a The player feels comfortable with it and most of all the guys around him feel comfortable with it and they're at that position. You've gotta have great communications so that becomes very important. That they're they've trusted each other. Though bryn mawr for the last one good really. Good morning andy. I know that you've talked about this several times throughout the course of the summer but now that we are twenty four hours removed away from the election. And you're starting to ensure see that kind of the setup going on and it's becoming a little more real. Just how proud are you of your guys that they really led. This charged it to get that type of change done. Yeah so. I think it's it's an eight. They've been able to do it right here at the stadium and the there are a lot of things that had to go right to get that done and A lot of it had to do first of all with the players having a plan. Second of all presenting it to management and ownership and then the those people in ownership and management support him so clark han mark donovan gone above and beyond to support the players. And that's what teams all about. So there's very respect there. And that's the part. I appreciate The most just how everybody pulled together join. Get this thing done..

"Coming together for the for the photo, op? In. The middle of June. I'll say this. You haven't seen me as a as a as a coach over the years. If you're just GonNa, ask me about the situation with traffic. What thing that always talk to players about this is the beauty of building relationships throughout your entire career with these guys because one thing that you know as a former player everybody wants to be perfect no one wants to make a mistake and so one thing when you building relationships with players as I take a tremendous amount of pride and all of our coaches do okay. Is that in those critical moments you've got to remind guys, right. Don't. Take the message and thank that his personal. No, I'm attacking the issue and so when they realized that that it's about the issue and not about the person players they they they understand you know this is not a personal attack or I'm getting. At all this is professional football I-. Job is to make sure that players are being accountable and one thing you know me and Trav- have a great relationship and beauty of it is those things happen those things do not bother me we keep it moving and we keep pushing forward because when it's all said and done wit. You know it's all about doing what is best for the organization and doing what is best for the chiefs. The peace, week that'd be. Good Afternoon Eric you obviously have the luxury of coaching Patrick Mahomes, but I'm sure that there are some challenges with that especially right now when a lot of teams are taking away what he likes to do, and that's throw the ball downfield. What type of things do you say to pat to say okay, you know let's just take what's in front of us here. And he's fine with that and those guys are going to play in the back end and and played. He's going to be the first one to tell you. Hey, you know what they're not covenant. Everybody's playing deep. So I'm GonNa find the open man. So the beauty of PAT and I want everybody to understand this and I think sometimes prof- Professional Sports have a tendency to thank that it's all about the numbers and the Egos and sometimes I think. People forget that we play a team game this is what has made a special I guys are going to do whatever is needed to go out and win because when it's all said and done, we talk about this each and every week it's not about the numbers it's about alphabets and they only alphabet that matter in this industry is w L. whatever we have to do to get that. W.. That's all what matters and then you know what we're GONNA come back put it put a game plan together for the following week and we're going to get going and get ready to go. Yes I. We want all of our players have all the success that they can what we do notice it. We can do this together in, do it for one another endure it the right way. It gives us a chance to have a chance to pursue the goals that we wanted to pursue. A couple more guys are going to salmon and Steve Sam. I know quite how to great game the other day right but a individual not trying to take away. But the line in front of him there. There were some wholes What what did you see there? Particularly with the interior where you're kind of moving guys around of how much of that you feel like is you sorta cracked a code and can can repeat that going forward. His. You only as good as your last performance. So our guys played as good as a game as they could possibly play for that we. Thought they the preparation was much better. The focus was better guys had a plan and they went out executed. They're playing because of all the little things that we we talked about just having the right attitude and that determine mindset to take that feeling go out and play up to the level of expectations that we expect them into play. But now it's about putting consistent behavioral and. Now, we're faced with another challenge. Now, we gotta go to Denver and play against a a young up and coming defensive line sprang some pretty good ball up front and one thing that I guys gotTa do is just make sure that hey, you know last week was last week. What we did is gone now it's time to flip the page and move onto the next chapter. Eagles Steve. Hey How you doing? Good. Steve. What's going on. None, much for for a performance perspective you know what you're going to say we live right I mean but similar to when you guys brought in shady from last year in his mentorship to Darwin you talked about it a little bit. But I'm just curious to know if you're expecting a levy on his show and leadership to Clyde and if so how much and have you heard anything before you brought him in about his leadership ability? Well, here's the thing I know first of all Levian reached out to to Cli- and had a conversation with them and asked him you know. Untold. Basically. I don't want to step on your toes. You know which? I WanNa know of you. Okay. With me coming in here and he's a classy individual says a lot about the person who does not wanna come up and disrupt the chemistry that we have and so. I do notice the kid is a football junkie he lives and dies for football, and then on top of that, we have strong enough leadership within locker room to make sure that he's doing it the way we want it done. But what I expect from lady on expect Levy on the be professional you know within this bill, I expect him to represent the Kansas City Organization and also to at times when he feels comfortable to to do it, I expect him to provide some some leadership in just some some knowledge and wisdom on what it takes to play at any level you know to me. In this league for consistent amount of time and I hope he passes that down throughout the entire room. We appreciate the time. Thanks for joining us make you. Just came through the walkthrough. As a ready to have a practice, it'll short week here but look forward to getting out there on a Thursday. So with that I'll just open it up. Start first with Todd Lebeau. Good. Coach just wonder if you get your first impressions of what you've seen of the the broncos offense this year they got drew lock back last week. It's been a little uneven with them at the quarterback position. Yeah. I'll tell you what though it looked pretty smooth and kind of clicking on all cylinders this past game against New England. quarterback back we anticipate them getting tight end back maybe both running back. So it feels like you know they've won two straight games you know on the road my guess is pretty confident right now. So I, think we're GONNA see a good football team. Connects to San Miguel quits. Would you what did you think of the play from your secondary specifically? Did you feel like? You know the some extra motivation based on the way they played against the raiders and that showed up on Monday. Yeah. Sam I think I told him this that they after the game of two today's later whatever it is in the NFL is the. Ultimate proving ground by that I mean you have to prove it every week you know If you have a really good game you gotta prove that that's what you were. And we certainly our goal was to prove that what happened at home here against the raiders was not what we were about and I didn't think that they responded really well real aggressive was happy to see that CW and Shod Brianti Linda great job on the outside and the safeties inside so and the result was pretty good. Connects to Herbie t o be good hurry. Good Morning. How are you? A.

"GONNA panic. We're not gonNA throw everything out would just gonNa try to do a better. Record got three more hands up go right down the line tell me but with. A. Coach. Now you could go back and change what happened last week but what have you seen from your guys this week meetings on the practical they responded the way you'd like to see after a game like that. Yeah. Great Question At -solutely I love this group. There's a lot of character. Here's a lot of pride here and nobody feels worse about it than the players that were out there plan in particularly yesterday, we had a walk through it's a thirty minute walk through We just got done one for today that I thought. It was the best we've had A. Year and a half that we've been here. So the I've never questioned the the guys effort I've never questioned the preparation We just gotTa go out there and make sure we do things that we have executed during the week and just doing really well. Swinging go the. Afternoon coach you need question for you here You've gone up against Love Bell five times in your long career was curious what you remember about those times and that having to defend him and what was your reaction yesterday when you found out now he's on your offensive side of the football. Yeah I mean look at it's always to. Accumulate good football players and I've got a lot of respect The love Eon Bell I mean I haven't seen a gone against them a long time, but I just remember a headache I this. He was so challenging to stop in that. What we call dual play that the Pittsburgh steelers ran where he would just sit back there and pick and we've and no matter what you did. It felt like you couldn't stop them for less than six seven yards. So a lot of respect for I'm good football player I'm sure. Our offensive guys over, he'll be really happy to have. what? They had three big pass plays on. Sunday and we see the final product in what the coverage is up but I'm wondering from. Your perspective. Did the final product was at the coverage would call guys out a place there. Did they just not execute the coverage was your breakout? Well, one was bad call. In all honesty I just I thought I'd put. CW. In a bad situation if I had to do that over again, I would not do that the to others and going back and forth in my head I mean look at wasn't it's never one person explosive pass because typically an along explosive pass play. Time to develop somebody up front has got to take onus on it I thought the court listen I'm going to give the quarterback some credit here too and the wide receivers that good football players that we went against but can we stop those plays? Yes. With the calls that we made except for the one that I'm talking about that I'm responsible for I. Just believe we gotTa do a little bit better do a little bit fast and we'll be okay. Just, wondering what the response is from the defense as far as mentally approach because I know you guys probably weren't happy with the way he played Sunday what's been the response earlier this week. Just. All work. That's all we can do. You know how to glass we got there wasn't a best effort one numbers on performance. We could have had as a whole but Yeah. Just came in with a fresh mindset. You know you gotta gotTa Lotta Season Chambas Games man. So when you got many games fantasies and you know you re think look at it and you'd like. Now, I only play five games. You know there's so much more left to. You know so much more. You GotTa do you're GonNa see teams tainted I was winning. You'RE GONNA see teams that was doing pretty good. You're GONNA start seeing them fall off your team. That was you know during you know pretty bad gonNa Start Santa Monica time. So it's just an association. Sweney good beat. A frank. It seems like Alan in particular embraces and welcomes being out of structured. How do you balance stick contain while also trying to get to the pastern rush and try not to over pursue. Stopping the run I stopping when I stopped the run on got to think about all the could you sent you know chance that aren't GonNa think about you know doing one job. So once once we're able to do that and then we can rush to pass and have fun on that level I. Felt like you know when you start thinking too far ahead, you don't get enough credit running back and what he's been able to do for their offense as well. Running catching the ball You know you gotta you gotTa gotTa take into account for everything like. It's going to Aaron LADD air. When. You Look Your Front Office always looking to make moves in the addition of Our lady on bill was the initial response to that in the locker. Room. I, mean, you know everything in high government. Control you know you just can't hope for the best you know in certain situations like that. You know always you know for a guy like him who of course everyone has knowledge of knows about you know you just hope the best for the situation but you know that's not a market trauma I'm just a player here You know he gets in no that'd be that'd be excitement. Like, we say. You know dry yet you still got to know play out all type of things on that end and the paperwork size. So you know just hope for the best in nicotine keep our hair straight keep our head on. Monday night football game. It's GONNA ask Petro Frank jurists the. After the Game Chris Jones said, they had a lot of new formations. With with the raiders that maybe guys hadn't seen How much did that contribute to You guys you know Not Quite as quick as you look through those first four games. It contributes a lot but ended football is football. Lineup win the player you lose that play and then on Saturday graded, you know you lose many or you win so many unless the determining factor before the first half we gave up so many big plays on desens- you know I believe wonder receivers to two catches for over one hundred, hundred yards. What four four or five big Iran's or whatever what a ended up finishing the game we kind of held him you know under that before but we just let the game, the hand as we have in previous times where we say what they got to come here and stop the you gotta come in execute on that level desam wasn't able to do. We let a lot of big plays happening both they're running back side fairly good games I would say and no, we let their guard duty does that's hiding I had a great game and we just you know you gotta move on like say seasons long. Looks like we've got time for three more quick ones go todd Lebeau Darren Than Herald. Goto. Frank you mentioned effort. You know you felt like it wasn't maybe the greatest part of the raiders game How much is that a factor during the long grind of season especially when you're basing opponent team done very well against. The take things for granted. Human Nature. I don't think so I think I think sometimes guys get tired sometimes. Know The effort is and I'm going to say the effort isn't there sometimes it just a players. You know sometimes you don't you might not execute something as well. Because probably work as much. You know that we can practice from you probably didn't think you would. that call bears important as it. May you know you know I have been but it's just things like that is understanding on the on one of the latter day practices on a short week you know how much execution? How important that is how important it is the execute when you don't have pads on practice stuff like that where you initially getting. Contact you getting those hits you get in that. "You just heard from your chiefs coordinators and now we continue on with Travis Kelsey drivers. There was a point in the game when y'all chart run some clock out and Clyde has notched going on a bows and staying in bound was really mature play for a rookie cures this coming from Andy from the silence come from patch. What does that look like? It's coming from the the culture that coached Reid has. Set in place and it, and you can throw a coach Eric enemy in that as well. Just harping on. Specific situations throughout the game that could happen and we practice these all the time coach beyond him. He goes over him every single week and just executing the the plays like we have like we have practiced and Clyde did a great job. Todd Lebeau. Travis we've seen. More covert outbreaks and stuff like that. Happening around the League people got a little freaked out when they saw Gilmore, you know talking to pat after the game. Have you been thinking about this stuff more like after the game, you always try to talk to guys and congratulate them stuff like that or are you going to try to? Head to the tunnel is this up on your my I think that's probably the safest way to do it. I think Nick foles did it last night? Lease I thought he mentioned that at the end the interview after I think it's just the smart thing to do to. You know keep it moving and you know you can always shoot a guy text or give a guy called and let them know how much respected and things like that. But I think for the most part just keeping your distance as much as you can do all the precautions throughout the facility so that Stuff doesn't just Haven't knowing that it's it's hard to stop man. Next to Adam Tyson. Good. Hey, travis summer talking to you and Camp I started and you were talking about how optimistic you were because of the protocols that were place. You've just seen all the protocols that the chiefs in the NFL put in place. Are you still as often as you were back then about where this is headed number one and number two, it's your job I not play no matter when the game is to be ready to go and play a good game, but it's not so easy to do when games, are moving around and you don't know when when kickoff is going to be yeah. When I when I mentioned that back in training camp, we hadn't had one test is one test that came back positive so it'd be silly to say that the The Bar hasn't gone up since since all these breakouts of happened I mean you just have to make sure that you're doing the right things and and trying to take everybody into accountability not just not just. You're not just doing it for the guys in on this team you're doing for the guys league wide and it's unfortunate what's been going on but hopefully, everybody realizes again how serious matters and how fast does bug can spread and in. Dealing. With the the weakened weak out not really no one wanted to play. If a guy does test positive knowing that are Thursday game next week just got pushed You just got to roll the punches. You know we've We were kind of fortunate to have our game only push back last week one, one day and with that, you know there's still a little bit different of Game Day preparation and things like that. So it's just kind of roll. The point is the the life we're living right now with with Kobe being a out here in the world. It's going to be airing Kornacki. Good. I. Try this. Because of all of this stuff we've been talking about. Do you still see the raiders as a rival I mean years ago it used to be Raider, heater week and now. We're GONNA play. Yeah. The writers are always going to be a rival we we know the history we know. The the rivalry that that that was built upon you know the chiefs and Raiders ever since you know Phobos with started. So I think that it just amps up every single year knowing that they got players they great coaches over there and they've had some success this year. and. So we know that we we always bring it against all arrivals and everybody in the division. I consider a rival so. Good time for a couple of guys we're going to go Herbie and then sweet good Herbie. Travis.

"Biggest takeaway from camp this year especially with how odd it's been with no preseason games and everything like that. the biggest takeaway will be, how will the chief organization operates a very detailed? They have everything going smooth we have a it's any into any roadblocks We've been getting in great work the amount of rips as I speaking earlier that we get in a bunch of Reps. so everything has been very game like Soda Chief Organization as a whole has done a great job with keeping us all safe and along with our families and allowing us The opportunity to get work on the field along with whatever the league wants us to do as far as protocols with the Vista. Todd Lebeau, gone. A Antonio you mentioned how complicated this defense as you've been in the defense before you've been in a couple of different training cancer with other organizations, you had the ability to throw Ta's and all that stuff in your career. Can you just speak did how? These rookies who have never. Played in the NFL game, it's going to be like for them to have their first ever snap to be actually an NFL game, a preseason game, and all that how how much different that kind of speed goes up and can you take me back to when you were rookie what that would have been like to have your first play actually being a real game? Yeah Alyssa isn't advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. I'm coming in I was undrafted was the last corn on board so basic Ottawa Forty Year Mockery. Being able to put that film out there in those preseason games the show. Not only the organization is planning for, but other organizations as well that I can play was very vital and That's a process and a step that those guys are being able to get. But I would say the thing as I spoke earlier about the chiefs or Asian, how we operate in practice. It. gained. Reps is game quality Rep. so I believe that the guys who have been here or who jobs along with myself we take very seriously understand that there are the all our game rips. So with that, if you can feel like me personally for my pass training camps and like I said, is not knocking any other organization that I play for but these types in this type of trying to count that kosher res Run a here is. Is. Is Never as game might reps every Rep. We got some facets series in the League here in. So we get to go out there and cover those guys on. If you cover anybody here, I feel like we can cover anybody in the league. For those rookies that may not make it I. Think. This'll be a message or the other teams that they somehow another the opportunity to hear that. Everybody here already. Let's go to hurt with the last one Herbie. Until.

"Go. It wasn't the A two part question here but. You mentioned the advantage, some of the guys coming back from the roster last year. But like what's your missiles to the guys who add this advantage of not having the benefits of Ta's and mandatory Munich campus as they tried to make this roster? By. The first thing I said is is followed the guys that were here I mean the guys that were around a year ago have gone through it. And I think the player to play a relationship and conversations are as important as any in this league and I think every play will tell you that Let's face it after a while they don't really wanNA listen to me they've got to listen to one of their buddies And I think our guys that have been around a really good job of that sharing the information I don't think anybody's trying to hide anything. And we need every winning a Lotta. Guys have step up play for us play early that maybe weren't involved in the system a year ago but having great communicators hitch tyronn. Dan Sorenson. Ben. We mentioned I. Think. Helps anybody that's in the system. Now, that was not in the last year. Nate Taylor good nate. More exit. Good after early. With the defensive linemen in making the roster cuts how much factor will be flexibility as to whether you can play inside or outside that's great point. Great. Great Point look at the the league. Of the way offenses are constructed now we all know where in more quote unquote sub. Than we are and base defense. So that becomes really important. I mean the guy can I mean typically you have the guys that play outside that can go inside on third down or passing down. We've got a few of those you know really Chris the only guy that we'd ever take from inside movement we have to do it a little bit last year because injury. So hopefully, that doesn't happen. He's always pulling at me to go out there and play the end, I think he asked me every day. But listen to a lot of things I think in this in this age of football. I think. Being flexible throughout the eleven positions on defense is really important. I mean the corner physicians unique. But if safety is that can be linebacker Dan does for us you know safety it can go play the slot like tyrone does I can go inside I think anytime you can be flexible and versatile. It's GONNA help you overall defense. Time for a couple more. Let's go mad derek and entirely bulk goodman. Hey, could you actually touched a little bit there on what I wanted to ask you about which is about the safety position in you know how's it changed in your time in the League as far as what you want from safety because it looks once the time that was a turnover position. Now it's you know you seem to want some flexibility in guys who can do a lot of different things there. Yeah funding the ask that question My mind goes way back to earlier when I was in the League and I think they said that more that safety position was value by can tell you this we really valued Brian Dawkins. He was. So you kind of talking about a spot that I think against offensive football now does become really important because if you don't have a little bit of skill that position offensive coaches away too smart, they they find them mismatches and put you in tough situations. We're fortunate that we have some guys that maybe COMPLA- wideout says safety still support the run when you have that it makes you better. But has there been a change in that position I'd probably say, yeah, based on One way back when you put three outs in which was not as prevalent as it is now typically for another corner in the game. With, the speed of the way offenses I now by that I mean the temple of going in and out, you don't get a chance to do that. So if you don't have safeties that have little versatility, really restricted in what you can call. So having a little flexibility with a guy that can play slots important. Todd Lebeau to close it outgoing. CIA. Coach you kind of mentioned this a little bit with Salmon Herbie's questions about trying to pick the guys when you haven't had ot as an exhibition games. How how hard is it going to be for these defensive guys first year in your defense and all that to have the first snap they ever take actually be a national football league game. Now, we'll find quickly here we. Yes baptism by fire right you know the old saying that's going to have to have we we've talked about it. We're GONNA have to live with some growing pains. I think at some positions and but what you hope is that the Nucleus of the guys around them you know will step up their game. We're all hoping how step up my game. We all do step up and that we can maybe you know camouflage those issues a little bit and listen when we. If somebody does get exposed. If something happens like that, you know get him on the grounds lineup playing down. But it happens everybody's GonNa deal with around the league everywhere. We certainly got spots but I'm confident in the guys that have been around here that they can rally help these young guys. Coach. We appreciate your time today. Thank you gotta thanks. You've played in a couple of different systems now and I'm just curious. You know what you've learned so far about playing in Steve spagnolo system and working with the D backs coach. How's it? What have you learned to expect that they're going to ask you to do especially as far as versatility and flexibility or -sition? Number one I can appreciate a co spags ankles married in the entire defense aside for just giving me the opportunity number one, and secondly, they see that I can pick up on a defense very fast, which is very difficult defense. I would have to say compared to other defenses I've been in not knocking any of those defensive, but this very detailed and very specific and. They see with me being able to be very versatile they're trying. All spots on the on the on the Backfield, and so I'm just opening unprepared They're doing a great job with prepare me for every position that they think that I could best contribute to defense. Pete swinging good beat. Antonio Dato has called you the the best gun around this team I, I was wondering what your take on on why you have such a knack for that position. Number one whatever role they call me all or to be on I, just try to give my best effort that I can and whatever accolades or whatever praised they wanna give me is solely on them I don't try to go out and do nothing more nothing less I just tried to go out there and perform at my best ability. "You. How would you describe yourself as a coach and then on top of it? What's the biggest lesson you learn your your coaching career? Nick I'd like to think I'm detailed player oriented coach that Even though I'm getting older and. You know few grey hairs on my head, but I think that I'm fires. Guide for sure. I feel like. The biggest I've learned is it's really about the players, and it used to be your about recruiting in college game, and now to the NFL. It's really about the guys that the field with a group of guys. We have coming back and Kansas City. It's it's sure special. Be Part of that. Let's go to Todd Lebeau go ahead, John. Hey coach. Lebeau how you doing buddy? Relations Number One. Thank you? Our coached hopes work in your basement. Everything's still standing. So far so good, not bad. You. It's a lot of offense of work when you're at Mizzou and just became a special teams coordinator recently. What's that learning curve like been for you in special teams I, know you guys do a lot of stuff early on especially in college, coach has a number of coaches. But what's it been like being? Learn this new stuff. Yeah I was really fortunate to be involved with with coach Pinkel. We everybody had a special team, so I was really focused on the punt team for fifteen years. And I was also involved with Kickoff Return with Larry Smith, and you're thankful and been involved with special teams over time in the last two years, I was just special teams. Only so the biggest transition really is going to be the rule changes in how you deal with in the governor's going out of bounds, and certainly the kickoff rules. Change with with the setting of the guys up front, so just really to me, the adjustments going to be the rule changes, and and trying to you know the evaluation of talent as you get.
