"Returning to Todd Herman, Your guide on the E I be network 800 to 8 to 22 which probably know that by heart. Sure, you know, it's amazing how many people joined rush just in the last year. Last time I was privileged post Be the guy goes to the program. We have, like three callers who joined rush in the last year, the program so it continues to grow. That is reason by the way to have access to rush 24 7. Because, as you introduce people to conservatism, actual conservatism introduced him to rush you have decades, three decades. Of Russia's wisdom and humor and parodies at Russia in the first seven, getting a rush Limbaugh dot com In every possible capacity. We need to out absurd. The absurdities of what the left is doing to people that the left is really good at theater. And often conservatives aren't because we tend to want to be Frito have actual governance, and we tend to be busy living life. But when you would this would seem Parity. In a sane nation. But we're not right now. All same, particularly states like California. This is from reason dot com. In the name of Equity California will discourage students were gifted at math. New framework keeps everyone learning at the same level as long as possible, literally trying to hold back the minds of Children. Literally attempting to prevent growth. Literally stealing them from them their potential and it won't work. You can't well short of pharmaceutical intervention. You can't Crush. Intelligence. Rob Bandwidth overcome a lot. Lot of disadvantages Raw intellectual band with overcome like Raw physical talents could be a basis for great success. When added the hard work, But in the case of these mathematicians, they want to steal from them the hard work So our absurdity is need to be more absurd than them. I'm not trying to Greatest situation where teachers are constantly getting uncomfortable questions. That's not my goal. My goal is within the schools to have been saying make them live in the world. They're putting our kids in. Such as at a school board meeting. Yes, I just noticed that members Schultz is a lot better at speaking than member Smith's remember Schultz, would you please put some pebbles in your mouth when you're talking so that you stutter? Because otherwise there's no equity here. And while we're on the topic member Johnson, you're awfully good looking. And I just noticed over here. This gentleman is not as good looking so member Johnson, could you come in here? Next time was with Bedhead. And I know it seems absurd, and it could seem funny and it should seem funny. That should seem absurd and we have to do it. We have to demand that they start living this way. Now Another one. Yes, I stand before the school board to say we have no business in a building off mortar construction. This was stolen from the Aztec people. This design was stolen. These arches are Roman. We can't have Roman arches. They were the first to the white conquerors. I say Tear the buildings down and there were people going. You're mad. No, you're not. You're saying they're your rules? So live in him. Sometimes that absurdity can wake people because they're being abused by this Wilco. Hardest, Ed. The Ma ha found the prototypical victim of oak hardest at a so called journalist who's abused the notion that the technology we developed in space flights has been useless to society. The lack of education extends to Way too many places. This this Journalist. His name is Matthew Glasses, and I don't know where he writes. It's voxant or one of these millennial places. Slate. I'm not sure which Here's the tweet. It's weird to me how often JFK's Let's put a man on the moon idea is cited as a success story. It crossed tons of money was driven by Cold War hysteria and turned out to be useless to the point that it's been decades now, since anyone has bothered to go Do you realize how ignorant that is, from beginning the end, and I'm being charitable calling ignorant. Let's put in a man on the moon cited is a success story cost tons of money driven by Cold War hysteria. He's referring to the fact that the Russians, the Soviets The satellite up there called Sputnik and that made us all paranoid. We're afraid that we were going to be annihilated by a nuclear bomb launch from space, so we had to get Up to speed in the space game to keep up with the desperately Soviets who people like Mr Iglesias thought were harmless. And turned out to be useless to the point that it's been decades now, since anyone's bothered to go now he can only think this if he has had absolutely no Proper education about that era. Remember when I Woz, a teenager. Man named Shorty. Powers of NASA came to Cape Girardeau. They were in the process of selling everybody on the space program and acid was doing nationwide PR. Somebody in our little town had enough pull to get somebody from NASA. Come in and do a speech of presentation and my father was fascinated with space. He was pilot, so he took me to this thing. And One of the aspects of Mr Powers presentation was all of the Technology. That was created out of necessity. For the space program to put a man on the moon to keep human beings alive and little bitty capsules in outer space. The things that were necessary to invent. To make that possible. Had ramifications throughout every day American society that led.

His brother, He made me a better president. He's got the character and the experience to make us a better country. Obama also taking the unusual approach of harshly criticizing his successor, Donald Trump hasn't grown into the job. Because he can't Obama also praise Senator Kamala Harris, saying she's prepared to step in as vice president and urged all Americans to vote on Election Day boxes. John

"To guest host Todd Herman III beat network I once heard someone say about oleo being kind to others so Russians you sort of thought of that thing and flying with saying to people about government accountability we're conservatives we sort of want that thing that's we want small government and limited government because it's easier to hold to account it's harder and harder to hide fraud it's harder to hide crimes it's harder to hide bad people in small government and I look at now I'm seeing the police unions the police unions have been giving money to the Democrats to build up their numbers because unions this Kim right that's what they do they skim from people's paychecks so that they want their numbers built up into them givens money you talk to rank and file cops it's driving him nuts wait you're giving money to people who wanted to fund us in part and parcel of what we want is accountability cops want accountability might be time for cops to ditch their unions because we do want government held to account that is part of being a conservative that's why we want small government we want that in all cases and to get all times it just makes sense should need quality in Riverview Florida you're on the Rush Limbaugh program is taught Herman filling in high she could thank you for calling hi how are you today doing really well I'm really glad you called what's going on I was just going to three one your collarbone my my my children have both parents in the household right now and I don't allow my children to go outside or go to the park or anywhere while we're not home or with them because I'm afraid of so many profiling my children I heard your last caller saying that and telling your children not what to do but I have to teach my children to be more aware my son is only fourteen ninety six but you can opt in for a grown man and he loves to wear hoodies I show the patient a picture of my son two days ago while going on and she said you know your son should be wearing though he's going to get killed so I just wanted to let people know that I don't understand how having both parents are going to stop children from being profiled yeah I think what the call was saying was having both parents is one key denominator in determining success staying in school saying murder this after that but what you bring up this is this is this is this fear that I don't think people relate well to I don't want I wanna be super clear here she Nicole I I lived in Utah I've never been a good time a plastic banana dope smoking rock and rollers crush with Hey but I did have long hair down the middle of my back and hearings at one point it is bursting is is to say these days fans I understand I can change my looks I can cut my hair and skin conservative Utah that fight I got but I literally got hassled by cops sometimes in some pretty bad ways and I did start to have this fear and it never entered into my mind and this is me talking to you as a human being it never entered my mind to cause to fear all cops there were towns I was I was nervous in and maybe we have a different experience and I'm wondering if statistically statistically folks are more likely all folks more likely to be hit by lightning than killed by cop in and I'm not taking my children to be afraid of cops on you yeah I don't even agree with the whole defining the police situation I don't agree with that and so I'm just saying that I when I when I got into on the call with her saying that both parents make the situation better but and my reality I mean I'm if you feel like you could be more aware of certain situations yeah so you listen to rush's show are are you a conservative what what so what appeals to you about conservatism I'm from Ireland and they are a little bit more conservative I talked to you before last year you try to switch me to go the other way as well right I'm right now mine my family of Mars you know they have conservative values right now but I don't think our democratic well so look let me ask you this with with the democratic cities let me give this example so Florida all right so out of Seattle right now they've got arms Y. H. A. T. pho they see their NT four I believe they are they've taken over six blocks they've shut down the city they've taken over police station they're walking around with guns and you know that's a Democrat run fifty years that city that that state that centra this at some like a safe place for your kids hello you got a couple more things should be quite know that your Republican curious I know that you are what I gotta do to close this deal today what do I need to do to get you to vote Republican today I have no idea I am right now my article where it ran for a while I I still I would like to see our president be a little bit more softer on certain issues and you know that that's one thing that really concerns me is that he he hasn't really came out and said anything in order to make me want to come over about five yet well I mean you still have time but we'll have to see right yep well there's the unemployment numbers those were great African Americans lost employment in recent history there was that there's bringing back to manufacturing jobs it said they couldn't get done then there's this the schools the charter schools because I know that sometimes yeah okay I'm gonna keep trying with you we're gonna get you one day I mean you're listening for reason I do remember talking to you last time and I I really appreciate you calling and it means a lot to me at least is just a rank amateur gets its own fresh means a lot that you will listen to the show I think we'll we'll get you eventually your charming person I thank you for the call and listen to our kids that lot of people just love them and we want to we want to be to be good and healthy and unafraid just let him know that we just love them we do that thank you so much I think you should so by the way speaking of love you can go to Rush Limbaugh dot com you know what someone's people Twitter soon I sound like a leftist and a twist sound like a leftist someone just said you some leftover rhino today I think I'm just trying to make a build the bridge in in case you can go express your love for America's anchorman and Z. a truth detector that's Rush Limbaugh at Rush Limbaugh dot com in there's a place there that you can leave specials for rush you've.

"And now we return to guest host Todd Herman all day at work coming up on the unbelievable updates about the seizing of a city from self described antifa members just got a note from someone who witnessed something incredible R. J. Coles James is with the she's a president of the heritage foundation also the Glocester institute which is an organization that trains and nurtures college age leaders in the African American community all the talk to real quickly K. about the corona virus recovery there's a lot of us were feeling very very anxious to open up and lot of people like me see no scientific reason at all that the school should be shut down and I'm beginning to feel like this that that that's I I feel perhaps the president has been misled a little bit by some world health leadership that what we could do how we're gonna get back opened well first of all I would commend to you the report of the national coronavirus commission which I have the privilege of chairing on June fifteenth will come out with over two hundred and fifty recommendations for how to do just that at the heritage foundation we were aghast that the it seemed as though we were so focused on just the health side without recognizing that livelihoods were at risk so we decided to think through that issue and say okay if we could make recommendations to the president to Congress to governors to mayors and community leaders what what is the best advice that we could give them so you will see two hundred and fifty plus recommendations on how do you how to do just that I will tell you that there were many many lessons learned in the last three months not the least of which is that we need to really do a better job of teaching civics there were governors and mayors who exceeded their authority based on law and constitution and at the federal level and so a good understanding of what executive powers there are what constitutional powers we have at the federal level at the presidential level and so we need to get all of that very clear because when this happens again and it likely will we cannot repeat some of the same mistakes that we're making right now but the virus was one deadly killer and sometimes as we've been through this process we felt like the cure was worse than the virus itself in terms of the cost not just on on people's health but on their livelihoods as well so we decided you have to do both you have to protect health and you have to protect livelihoods it's not an either or we must do both so my admonishment to people is as we get back to work please please do it safely we can adhere to some of the advice that's coming out about how to do that but what we don't want to see is another spike in the numbers and then a reversion back to some of those strict guidelines that we saw coming from our governors so the American people are smart folks we can do it we can do it safely and I think we will well I just hope that you guys will have a strong ally in AG Barr will have a strong ally on and states that don't want to re open and want to slow walk that because there's a lot of us who live in the states Kay who are convinced that some of these governors want to do that I want to thank you for coming to Russia show I join you in prayers for rush as he fights this battle that he will win Kay Coles James has been with this president the heritage foundation its heritage dog or dot org what else of people need to know to reach U. K. well you'd be confined me their heritage dot org is where you'll find all the information to get in touch all right we appreciate your work and I just I want you to know I walked into the heritage foundation lobby for the first time ever and I got chills he meant so much of the country so thanks for carrying on the great great tradition of the heritage foundation Kay Coles James joins us appreciate you coming on Kay thanks very much so I I brought this up earlier in a I want to bring it up again because as we're looking at you heard K. in your herd this description of our principles going into African American communities we've had a long discussion about this today and there's been some disagreement on social media on the things I've said that someone said to me wait a minute you tell this great story about delaying that the security guard at the RNC African American guy who raised his hand and said Hey don't call this committee racist they put through my kids through college so basically you're saying join raises hand said folks gave me stuff at all you didn't hear the whole thing I was talking about the fact that we walk in every morning Hey doing how's it going I've been to his home made his family he was a fixture he was so beloved in he knew everybody's name they knew his they know his kids names he was a friend and a long time employee and someone who stood up for his friends because he'd gotten to know them I'm talking about that sort of human not rich we need more of that because in my life experience or to be a leftist in my lived experience those are the things that are effective that when people feel listened to they'll listen to you because what Kay Coles James said about this country and about the ability to I could to succeed it is be all on the argument this is the very best place for that sort of opportunity speaking about Lou in Saint Augustine Florida joins us on the Rush Limbaugh program Lou thanks for waiting a Saddam and filling in for Russia I'd hi so how did you research in this anything like he and I went through three different categories and did it per capita not around the country as a whole so there is a forty two point six million black Americans and two hundred thirty six white so I did millionaires and I got this done for this eleven million millionaires over in the United States well there eight hundred and eighty thousand black which makes up percent of the population in the white Americans are state point three million millionaires which makes up three percent of their population not a very big gap there involves waters so then I went to college this is nineteen point nine million for college students the United States and that black Americans are three million which makes up seven percent the population white America this fourteen million what makes it so I went up there to help you H. again not a very big gap this year is the warm weather is the most quality and that abortion not this one the CDC and this is just for one year there was eight hundred sixty two sides abortions in two thousand nineteen of that two hundred forty one sounds a neighbor or black which is a half a percent in with whites there was two hundred thirty one which is two tenths of a percent so there's two and a half times more abortions than white and that is why there is such a population gap because the all the abortions all of the potential that they kill when they kill those babies wow so I won't understand the Rush Limbaugh caller you're listening to the show it's a rank amateur guest host you go to the computer you know I know I mean that and then you provide this research for this audience I I just I want everybody to understand this when ever I fill in for rush I'm astonished that the range and breath in the intelligence of the callers this is what you get with the.

you because the left wants to be the fun parents the parents say oh sure go have all the sex you want to just use your use Planned Parenthood for the outcome right so they're changing definitions they're changing meanings and the overall thrust of this is reality is what we say it is that is so incredibly dangerous to society that one party says forgets material biological reality forget that it is what we say it is forget what your parents tell you it is what we say it is at center for get the need for laws to prosecute a president we say it's abuse of power Richard from Gilbert Arizona you're on the Rush Limbaugh program is taught Herman filling in welcome to the program Richard hi thank god you're doing a great job she said very briefly state what you have to say and I'll do it as a recovering elected official in a city councilman also I'd encourage in some segments you would dedicate to this good guys to run for office we need them more than ever we the young people the people of integrity and conservative values they are discouraged by the behaviors of the bad guys don't be discouraged and so do any opportunity obligation run for office get elected we need you desperately absolutely well said Richard I want to take off of what you said I wanna thank you for the call and think thank you for waiting on hold let me just say this about what Richard saying to young people around the country listen to rush's show he's absolutely right now running for office I want you to promise yourself something start small do it today find the office you can feel today can I tell you what the most important offices you can fill your gonna laugh at me school board because the battle the left is one the college level institute they're in now the elementary schools okay they are now coming for your kids in elementary schools in ways I just discussed putting Planned Parenthood clinics in the schools themselves your kids can secretly go there right they're coming for kids so if you're young get on the school board change that don't let those things happen if it's not the school board get on the planning commission's planning commissions are being used to turn entire cities in the homeless camps get on those commissions and work your way up from there make yourself a promise make yourself this promise if you run for office but you will never ever violate ten principles right out what they are put them on a wall on a plaque with a mirror look at that every time you walk in your office for instance you'll never take a bribe put it on a plaque put in your office and give them to your friends with not a mere on it a picture of you you say your friends whenever I do this if I ever do the things you tell me and if you ever know you do with them and you see yourself in the mirror drop out of office but run as excellent right Paul in Savannah Georgia you're on Rush Limbaugh program taught Herman filling in for rush I pull yes Sir we need to take away the audience of the angry hateful Democrats and that audience of the people who are watching CNN MSNBC and mac we want everyone to switch to the weather channel and get the people with the weather channel before you go to work in the morning turn on home turn the volume down when you get to the office turn on the weather channel deprived them of their audience and they will know it when the ratings number out toward the weather channel from five million viewers to five hundred million viewers and just take the audience away from the hate and doubt I love I love it well said Paul thank you very much make sure that you listen to Russia before you do that of course Saddam in for Rush Limbaugh on the EIB network you're listening to the EIB network there has been plenty of talk about C. B. D. these days you don't know which plans to trust let me give you one you can level select CBD now a lot of companies by C. B. "This is an intro intro intro intro. A if flow chart with four. Hey, what's up? How you doing? I'm doing fabulous, because we're not doing these interests at the end of a long, long, long day. Yeah. So I think we found a little bit more co coherent today. Cohere Oaten, no work. You're wrong psychological thing that, like whenever we turn these interest on hit the record, but we're like we're going to sound like a bunch of idiots now. This just you. Wow. All yours, bro, Matty. All right. I'm just kidding. It's all love. Oh, I'm back. I get made fun of in the episode. It's true. That is true for all right? Well, who we talk into this is one that I'm actually pretty excited to share with everybody. We're talking to. Amassed man man, a superhero, a we're talking to Todd Herman man. This guy's a bad ass. But you'll get the reference a little later. He is the author of the alter ego affect, which you probably heard this, re reference by Matt nine even think a couple of other folks as being one of their favorite books recently. That's totally still true because it's extremely practical and Todd he's not going to step through what the book was in this, but I feel like like you and I were saying like he gave a really good. I think overall feeling of like you know, who uses this, how to use this, the power of it, and a lot of ways you can just test this right now. Yeah. I think I think it really touches on the essence of the book. Basically, you get like three core parts like first of all explanation of what the alter ego affect is you get a little bit of an explanation on how to develop your own alter ego. And then you get an explanation on how to turn it on and off that alter ego at will. And we really kind of dive into those three core things and Joan. I like you said, we both read this book, what we listen to the book on audio. We're actually buying the print version, because we want to sort of get another modality to really lock in a lot of the concepts. But Todd doesn't amazing job in our that we have to gather of really sort of explaining, and breaking down all of the core elements, so that you can go do this. But you gotta get this book, alter-ego affect a great book. Yeah. And it's something I know I've, I've personally used already in certain scenarios, like. Well, going to specific like super d-. But, like speaking in front in front of certain audiences, for instance, like where you might have in this is the case. I'm sure we all have a little tinge of it. But like imposter syndrome, sometimes no, Matt, I talk about all the time, like wait. Are we really qualified to be speaking on this stage, or, or interviewing this person, or whatever it might be or getting the, the traction notoriety for things that people like wait? Really? But, like, we take a step back and in this interviews, a perfect examples, they know we are putting ourselves out there and you can too, but there's ways that he describes. They're almost every celebrity out there, including, you know, beyond say and Bo Jackson like we talk about them to inside of here, like they had an alter ego. They had this other personality that they were in body ING in that moment. Yeah. For sure. And it's amazing discussion. You're gonna really enjoyed it. We enjoyed having this discussion, but before we jump into it. I want to tell you about our notes. I can only guess. Well, you know what I'm about to say. Oh, that's right. So we, we take notes on every single episode. We actually have team members actually lately, I've ever taken some of these notes are fun, man. Yeah. We take notes on every single episode. I'm not talking about like the show notes. We get the links and stuff, we break down everything that we talk about on this episode. We bullet out all the tactics any resources mentioned, and we do it for every show that we ever do, and you can go get those, and you can get them for free. If you're quick.

"No, one from my country has ever gone and done that or no one with my color of skin could go and do that like it. Those are insidious little hidden forces that pull people into that shadow or that kind of trap self like, I call it. And and so this has nothing to do with the idea that will. Should I just be myself? You are extraordinarily layered. And it's important to understand that we live in context in life. Who you are with me right now is of course, going to be slightly different than who you are when you're homeless Jen, or when you're with family, or when you're on the sports field, or of course, never on the sports, and let's be realistic. Yeah. Yeah. I get the feeling that that is literally the shadow. That's the only way that you're on the history like some shadow has been cast on a sports field. But you know, so we all have elements or a personality that show up highlighted in different in these other areas, very very useful for people. And so when we're building alter egos for ourselves, and I'm doing it with like, athletes or executives or public figures or entrepreneurs it's in context, we're trying to be very intentional about who. And what you're bringing to that field to help you succeed because maybe there's elements of your current way that you're operating that are getting in the way of that success. Okay. So so so. Here's a I don't like the term devil's advocate yet. What what comes to mind is great. I'm so forth. Successful if I'm successful and people then love us, and I'm applying this alter ego thing really well where it's like I've got this best version of myself forward. Don't they then just love our alter ego, thereby reinforcing my already crippling imposter syndrome because I'm like. Oh, yeah. Well, of course, they like this. But it's all it's all my alter-ego now. No, I can't even accept the fact that I have this fandom or. Yeah. Well, I mean again, this goes back. This goes back to the context of. We don't know everything about everybody. Anyway. So everyone's love for each other is in the context of what I already know about you. I can't know everything, you know, I shared something deeply personal little while ago. And I'm sure you're like, holy crap. Didn't see that coming. She thought that guy had it all figured out or something like that. But we're not building it again. I am not building something in my mind, using this trusted friend, and alter ego to help me go out to impress other people. Okay. Okay. It's literally acting upon the natural intrinsic motivators that are inside people to go out there and grow to learn explore more of ourselves. Seek adventure curiosity to see what we can go. And do that's the spirit that when you infuse that to push that heroic self using alter ego out there, we can, you know, whether it's I. I intellectually understand that the version that people are interacting with me is not a complete version. Of course, it's not it's impossible. They're not in my home with me when I'm with my kids, and my wife, so I'm not people shouldn't be overly concerned about that's the version. That's people are falling in love with. I mean, I talked about in chapter number two with chef Gordon, right? Chef Gordon one of the most prolific Hollywood agents working with some of the biggest stars in in music. Alice Cooper tape Pender gas Luther Vandross, and he always told them it never forget. When you're on that stage. People are in love with that version of you. That's why we build that second self for that performance. So that we can protect that other kind of like more gentle or sensitive self that you might have. So that when someone's writing a review of your work, they're not attacking? That identity. They're talking about the identity that you're presenting on that particular field the play. Okay. Okay. So so we want that this to protect us because it the ego takes the alter-ego takes all the damage when someone's like, oh, Todd Herman's book sucks..

"Here's Todd Herman. Now, this alter ego stuff that we're talking about here. I fascinated by it because I thought oh, I need this. You know, I need to find out. What version of me is is what? I want to present. But that's not quite what the alter-ego thing is about. No. Because that to me originally it was like, oh, I can be fake. Yeah. No problem. I know everyone can't be. That's what the lived in LA the wrong, the wrong idea that it gets entangled with is the idea of fake t make it and like anyone who knows anything about messaging something terrible message fake, something to you. Make it. That's why there's like so much resistance against it. Because no one wants to fake it. I mean, that's that's like that's like the definition of being authentic is trying to deceive people trip people and all three go has nothing to do with that. And alter ego in its root form comes from Cicero who coined it in forty four BC, and he's like Roman statesman, Roman philosopher argued as one of the most important of them all by some people and he said in its route. It means the other I or trusted friend, and that's a really really useful idea that for people to keep in mind because when you think of like how many people operate in their own heads. It's sometimes very much a merry go round affect of like constant self bullying telling yourself, you can't do it. What an idiot. You are judging yourself. Why didn't I think that all that kind of stuff and alter ego steps in in those areas where you're really trying to perform and bring your best self out there and act says that trusted. So all of a sudden in your own head. It's really healthy to understand that. There's this duality that we all exist inside of right? There's up down. There's inside outside hot cold same thing in our head. There's that Carl young shadow, right? That Carl young would talk about what if there's a shadow there has to be a late..
