"I know the players names a little bit more than I know the team name. I don't really care about the team names. I don't even know if this league is going to last more than a couple of games. I really have no idea. Birmingham won this game 28 to 24. My former college coach J locy, great guy, love him forever. I will always have his back. He coaches for a New Jersey. That's pretty cool to see. They have a two quarterback system in New Jersey. Luis Perez is the quarterback who throws the football, apparently. And then Deandre Johnson is their running quarterback. Deandre Johnson was on last chance. He's really cool story. They're both very well. They seem to get along very well together. They're unselfish. It works for them. And finally, the final game was the Tampa Bay bandits against the Pittsburgh maulers. Tampa went easily 17 to three, their coached by Todd Haley, former NFL coach, who worked with all kinds of legendary quarterbacks and was pretty good offensive coordinator in the NFL. Their quarterback is Jordan to amu. He is, like I said, probably the best quarterback in this league. He's come a long way since college, it'll miss where he keeps getting better and better. Every time I watch Jordan to amu play football, I go, man, this guy is just improving and improving. And he remember he worked with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City recently and now the Pittsburgh team in the USFL is a joke. They're the worst team in the league. They're horrible. They're offensive philosophy is boring and predictable and ineffective. They were literally running the ball every single play like stubbornly stupidly just like, we're not even going to try to throw the football. And at points, they were like, we're not even putting a receiver on the field, we're putting ten guys online as crewmen just gonna try to run the football. It's like, what are you, I guess 9 guys, quarterback running back and the 9 guys on the land of scrims what are you doing? I don't know what they're trying to prove there. Running on every single play, like even on third and 8, I'm like, this isn't working. What the hell are you doing? I don't get it. I'm really unimpressed with their head coach, Kirby Wilson. He comes across as, man, unprofessional is the word that comes to mind where you're not coaching high school football, dude. What are you doing? He is, if I was on Kirby Wilson's football team, I would feel trapped and very, very frustrated. Like, you can't quit. You can't be like, the guy who quits your football, 'cause that's a bad PR wise and could hurt your career. But I don't know that anybody's winning that being on his football team. You're in a bad spot, no matter what. It's a lose lose. And apparently he cut a player for he asked for pizza instead of chicken salad. And somehow that was disrespectful, and then I watched the video of him cutting the player, there was no discussion. He refused to have a conversation with the player about what happened. He just cut him without talking to him. It was very bizarre. I worry that Kirby Wilson, the coach in Pittsburgh of the quote Pittsburgh football. And that actually in Pittsburgh..

I don't think our winters are that bad. I mean we've had some ice we've had some is we've had. It snowed a couple of times since we've been here. But it's certainly not michigan weather. I think there are so many times in our lives and that that we do get overwhelmed but we just have to step back and realize okay. I'm having a bad day today but you know what tomorrow is going to be better. I'm gonna take a bath. I'm gonna get in bed early and just get up tomorrow and start again. I think it's just constantly. And i it's hard and and i talked to so many people that so miss not being in person and not being able to have that Social interaction with people And so hopefully we can get back to that before too long. "I think they should have been handled behind the scenes. Sent a memo to the coaches all the coaches on zoom. and say. Hey guys that we want them to know. Like what celebrate bliss. I'll do the shit's we can't do shit anymore. Just handle that internally as opposed to aref that might. I just don't think this is good. I don't think it's good. Aj i don't think the refs wanna call this either because it's could take away some huge plays. It could change the course of a game. But i am. I mistaken in my watching. The games. Wrong where i don't think we have a giant taunting issue in the nfl. John mara telling us like everything goes online. Everything will trend during the nfl season. I've never seen people just up in arms. All the taunted guys are doing so what happened last year. i think it was in preseason. Maybe the year before. Todd haley was on the field in you. Remember that todd. Haley was Was he what the browns may be playing the steelers and he was on the field doing entire thing. I mean coaches get in a little bit of the The mix as well but the taunting. You can't spike a ball on somebody. You can't win a game and then take the quarterback's helmet off and then hit the helmet with or hit the quarterback with the helmet which maybe maybe he was celebrating a witness that was taunting not like a grievous. What are we taking any emotional way from age. I just don't understand. It has to be that it has to match get to that point where to where. Yeah like if it's if it's crazy if you spike the bone it hits a dude or two guys lane down and you stand over top you flex over. It has to be really bad to call it. That's hoping happens. I i really. I just think it would slow the game down. People would get pretty upset if we see some the stuff we saw in the preseason. The regular season morale the owner for the giants speaking speaking. When i don't think any of us are asking him to be speaking there is one owner. That is miked up right now for. Hbo and we're not hearing enough from the. I got a chance to watch about half the hard knocks here on not on my wife's laptop because i forgot mine issues obviously thrilled that i use her laptop right now. It's going great. I watched half of it. And i wanna let only about two sentences from jerry jones. What the fuck are we doing. The juicy episode two of our nas. Aj big mike. I did not know. He's and i like i didn't know mike was like fire. He's fiery guy you've been watching following along and your thoughts on hard knocks episode to then i'll hear tien. Connor can't wait to hear their thoughts as well. I like you have not seen the whole thing yet. I think i saw the first like fifteen or twenty but yeah big might take use fiery like he is a guy that absolutely is emotional. He's not scared to show some emotions one way or the other. And he's very open and honest with the team to. I think on how he feels about how you play. Like he doesn't sugarcoat anything either. So yeah. I'm i'm not surprised i'm hoping he gets more and more comfortable as hard knocks goes on with the mikes and cameras around him. Hey let loose out there. When he's talking to on the sideline like i. I didn't expect a love. Mike mccarthy okay. I did not expect a love. Big mike right. Especially because you know. We had gone through a couple different series of thoughts. On how mike mccarthy they get his job with the dallas cowboys date. He completely bamboozle cerro in the doing an entire like deep thinking piece about mike mccarthy assembling a whole coaching staff and treating it as if it's day to day in his basement and jerry jones like shit. Gimme that guy's coaching fired. Or whatever and maybe he got in there but listening this is what might up things do this. What are knots. does it introduces you to people. Deeper us usually respect them a lot. More kind of know more about them. I love i love jared. I wish they would may be push that a little bit more i. Let's get a little bit more jerry jones and his son of a bitch i. Let's go ahead and get him going. I like learning zico since baby powder for his gauge. Like these are things that you learn. Kind of humanize everybody. I enjoy what episode to thus far has not been like a show season steeler. I don't think your thoughts tie connor. I mean it's it's hard to say it wasn't good because you know anytime you get see stuff like that. It's pretty awesome. But yeah i mean it was a definite step down from the first episode like you said i mean. No one was more happier than me. When the packers fired mike mccarthy was fucking ecstatic. But i love the guy i love the guy and they do. I think they have a lot of stuff that they may be. Leave on the cutting room floor of him because it seems like he is kind of comfortable in front of the cameras. I mean the the way opened that episode said faulk like four times in thirty seconds and then we didn't really get him for the rest of the rest of the episode and everything but no one cares about that story line. They just don't want big mike. We want jerry we want back. We want zeke and learning about data not being happy about his rat and like other. It's st the behind the scenes and it was great to see the newt's from western pennsylvania. What an asp. Speeding on mike over here from eastern pennsylvania. You know what i mean. That was nice and chest. Because i believe the big thing was that mike was incredible. The chest the new italian obviously from western pennsylvania says whatever we get on these squares checkmate. My friend i enjoy the sh o'connor you enjoyed episodes. Who were no. I know it wasn't good. The first one was good because jerry intake in the second episode. jerry's one line about their british d. line sounded like winston churchill crushed the best part of the episode. But the only thing that they do that is good. Is that when the preseason came into new cheese lead in the team down at the end of the episode so you guys might have missed it but the new in the team down against the cardinals and the preseason they got the music going in the background they make you feel like it's the super bowl for these guys which it is just because you know they're trying to make the team which is good but it's like. Hey we're here for mccarthy. Were here for jerry jones. Can we please get maybe a conversation. Them shooting the shit. I wouldn't even watch jerry jones just watching the game in the booth or wherever the hell he is watching these preseason games but it does bode well for mike parsons. He plays chess right like. Should we be on him winning defensive rookie of the year. Now that we know he's a master chess player. Well mike known that he was a good chess player. I don't know if we knew how good he was. And i don't think we still know how good he was. Because we don't know how good the nutrients through which was a great chess player. So mike a battle. You know mike. even acknowledged. I should have close to cillian one open sicilian. I think he. I think we should bet on mike and mike. I i think if you wanna bet on something being good jerry jones. Mike mccarthy dakyns zeke on a. Mike is going to be good if you want to bet on something being great. You can bet on summer slam this saturday. Ninety only available on the cock- peacock the party of the summer being absolutely fantastic. I'll be on the call with michael foale for some of the matches joining us..

"This guy just has the most punishable face and resume in the history so whenever he sounds like he's anti fund which is what israel is whether that's what they wanted to be or not. It is what it's being called already as it was just a poor decision by all parties. I think talk well. Yeah and you look at the. How low the self-awareness is. I mean. i don't know if he thought. I don't know what kind of reaction he assumed people were going to get but like if he did know that the onslaught that came after it was going to come. Then you've got an even bigger issue. Connor i hate. This just makes no sense. It makes no sense especially with the guy. Like hey sean. Payton was basically pay employers to murder quarterback. And here we are. Now he's saying hey pant even celebrate after you get a first down like there's gotta be some sort of okay. You can't throw the ball after a first down atagi or something but you should be able to show some emotion maybe talk a little shit and then keep it moving like it has to either be way over the top celebration and that can be a penalty but it can't be this small little shit that's like all right fifteen yards the whole plays ruin your drives ruined punt the ball basically on second down because you're screw and what if you have a raft doesn't like one of the players. You know like that happens. That i think there's what didn't like me. He's like he. I think clearly i'm more. Call it all when three other restaurant was on somebody else. Now do that with this taunting thing. It's now the ref on the fields decision on whether or not it was ill. Wilder not like is that what. I don't understand i. I have no idea how this works out. Well i just don't know why it's a point of emphasis. That is the biggest thing for me as somebody who was in the league and saw the point of emphasis meetings behind the scenes and everything. They're trying to shape the future. And it's like i understand you like the way he said the talking like. Hey i hate to break it. The people like football football football is football. Football is a violent sport by the way. Football is a sport that to play. You have to have a lot of emotion you you hear those people that puke before every single game. There's people that run their heads into walls before games there's people that isolate themselves for six months because they have to get into the proper state of mind to run their face into other people to play this sport. Football is not like any other sport because nobody can create a sport that can survive this long as gladdy orrick. Gladatorial is that like gladiator liked. It's the most gladiatorial sport there is. I mean every sunday. My city is fighting. Your city are gladiators are going on the field. The fight your gladiators and we live in a society now with more information than ever on the future so the laws are changing but at the end of the day it is still played by dudes who believe it or not have to potentially be assholes to get the job done on. The field is being asked to run twenty two miles an hour. Run their face of somebody else or some others. Two people three people that are running at fifteen miles an hour. So if you don't want the potential to second afterward excitement still lost in the thing. I don't think you like the sport of football like i. Just don't think you fully. This is just like the people like the paint. A picture of what they want something to be an act as if that is how would actually is like. Hey this is not. Football is a sport of emotion. Like this is just how it is football. As a sport of opportunity. Football is a sport that should be welcoming to everybody all personalities all kinds. It is a unifier in the classical sense. That's why when politics which get involved in everything got brought in so many people got mad on both sides. i mean it was just like hey. Football is our ultimate getaway raw like you should. We should not be harnessing excitement. That's what makes our sport great. I would assume what happened. Was mara goes to his golf rounds on tuesdays after games and his four of old whites auto like when players talk after the down is over and he took it back and the competition committee. Didn't listen to anything ever says. And they just voted. Yeah go ahead good more. Do whatever you want and then this app you think just as soon as mars stock. Those things is just walk like that. I would assume so. There's no way tom what's behind this. Yeah because tomlin. I mean there's so much swag from com tomlin talk shit. So i heard a story. This alleged okay alleged. Obviously an alleged story. Chris boswell was kicking. Maybe going through a little bit of a slump and we're having a couple of and this is looking back hindsight not during his sump. It was not. He was not drinking during this stuff. I don't want to end this offseason looking back on slump you know and we just so happen to be sitting at I forget what by good bar. It's guy with todd. haley busted. His cowboy is so we're sitting at having a beer two or four. Know whatever it was and i was just chatting with him. Buzzes cool guy. I'm big fan of bosnia's human. I think he has grown and matured a lot. He hits the fuck of football. So i'm a big fan. I asked you know what happened. He goes he just didn't know how to tom..

"Hey this guy's from england isn't that crazy I do so. I think it it was mattie. Who else matthieu tyler. Ty was killed. Jake tyler turn to me one more knee and when they were doing the english thing. You gotta do a jerry jones impression of jerry jones during the british accent. Which did so. I do have one of those ready to go. If you'd like to hear of course hey on eight this some you know what they know what. They call a cigarette and london. Pete the rest jane because he's like he read. I've read the matt damon interview. Yeah yeah you can't do that. Jerry jones try to english accent. Yeah when he tried to do the winston churchill speech yet at didn't work. Well juries the only guy. I think i've ever seen it's put on weight. After the age of seventy five most people just start to wither away. He's just ballooning up. Yeah i think it's mostly the talks are the sodium. Yeah the docks is like just keeps you and plump at all times. Yeah your face has the plumpness too boring episode. I dunno hard knocks. I feel like i don't to i. I still love it. I think we do this every year. Though episode one we get really excited because they also have mortared to film. They have like two or three weeks to film. We get very excited for ball's coming back and then by the time we get to like the last episode of mike out on this. Yeah well it serves its purpose and its purpose is to make me excited in the last two weeks of july and the first week of august to anticipate the first episode of hard knocks. Yeah and then afterwards. It's like okay. Just i would rather watch preseason football once a week. I think i actually think that we should do like. We need a think piece and oral history of hard knocks. Rex ryan ruined hard knocks because everyone after rex is trying to have a moment like rex. And you'll never have that moment again. I thought that the the closest we came was the brown season because in the browns season. At least you had todd. Haley and hugh jackson just like seeing trying to piss up the same wall same barn just wetting themselves the entire time and then you also had the the infamous baker spiral. Yeah huge accident was not trying to do anything funny but everything he did was yes which is selling of all yes right. Yeah what was your mojo moment from. This week i think mine was now you can go first. I am trying to send between two. I was gonna say we'll in real life or in hard knocks in hard knocks only because in real life. It was them Tyler and mattie giving us Guacamole which was homemade. Yeah it was like three thousand ships. i'd i'd shit myself to death. I do that. Every time i go to mexican food. I always chip myself to death. I just sit there and you don't even need to bring me. Dinner ordered five tacos and by the time they came. I was like. I'm gonna puke severe terry myself and chips. I can't. i'm like well. Then you were at the house. Yeah yeah like a labrador that you put the food out and they will literally eat themselves enough chips out. I will eat myself today. That's what a husky does a husky because they're instinct is like i don't know when my next meal is gonna be on the pack dog. I'm pull misled. i better get my calories. Yeah the guacamole was fantastic. It's death by chips. That will be on my tombstone. I still think about when we went to the final four and san antonio chip myself to death for like four days straight. My mojo moment from hard knocks was demarcus lawrence saying. I don't like to turn my back on the ocean. Yeah those great light. I don't know why. But now from now on i'm never gonna turn my back on that ocean. Yeah mine was when they did the yoga man card And then they zoomed in on the guys taint and then they went to zeke elliott being like magoo charts is that how was great at it. It was very good. Have you seen Well it was kind of weird. They all put the towels over their heads laid down. It looks like heaven's gate really strange trying to get away from but it might be wrong. Okay okay that makes sense. My mojo moment from this week was going to say so far from today. I mean big cat apologizing to each other. We had an apology off. Because we did go to canton. We went to visit. Larry's gravesite our gambling goldfish. Larry to and his grave has been defiled He's been dug up. The tree has been to file and they cut down his trees. Yes they cut downstream which is a real problem with co two that we're having right now like we need all the trees we can get and they chopped his little tree down and we were looking for his gravesite. But unfortunately without all these landmarks that we have to finally like is plaque which has been removed I thought it was in this one location. We got there and we're like well it's not here and then big cat was like no where it was way. Further down the throne. I was like no. You're wrong and then began wrong. I was like there's no tree there. Yeah there's no tree there and so began. I we're we're we gotta do back and forth saying i will accept my apology anytime now. We said that. And then after we realized we'd been duped in the tree was coming down through a wrong andrew. We admitted to each other that we were actually both right. You had the location right. I had the fact there was no tree there. Yes and yeah they my thought per second there that we were losing it. They were like. Are we gotta hang it up. Because we can't figure out like a a pretty significant detail and all of our lives. I'd say funeral. We had just raced from our memory. But we've sort it out. We have date david baker on the show. We are going to get larry into canton. So you'll hear that the hall of fame was awesome walking around. We got like a view of john. Show john who's archivist. He took us in the back. We got to see all this really cool stuff. Just an awesome time. Yeah is great. We do have a code blue situation on the bus though on the rv which is the generators dead and so now there's no ac. There's no power on the bus. So bill is going to be sweating out there. it's hugh. The bus actually turned humid on the drive from canton to cleveland. I don't think i've ever been humid inside of a car before but there we were so our bus driver. Ben said that he tried to fix it but he doesn't have any tools. Corey told us yes coming up. We're members coming up. Yes try time. Travel billy question for you. So.

"Today is wednesday. August fourth and football is back. Let's go. this is the last show that we're going to do for the entire year before there's an nfl football game. Not only that. But there's football's back because we now have training camp fights. Training camp fights are back. The giants all had like it sounded like the mouse the palace in new york. Today we never got video of it but now we're getting all these reports of fights. People there was a player on the panthers who got waves. 'cause he went head hunting and practice way way way to put on the giants fight. Daniel jones was at the bottom of the pile. Goes which some people are saying. That's awesome daniel jones a fighter. He's shown that he can be more than just a brooks brothers right. But i actually think the other way around i say that. I don't think that the new york giants are tough enough. If their quarterback is thinking that he's even able to swing on him he might have just been caught under he. I would imagine david jones just looking the other direction and in almost like a cartoon just ate him up so like one of the giant like balls of dust running around humble we end they got him on the blindside and then he fumbled side note. Tumbleweed are actually very dangerous. We hit tumbleweed. Hey can i hit tumbleweed when we were driving through new mexico with the boss and it was like it was a fucking big at like a tree. They're pretty big. But you just if you have a car you just hit it yet. But they're like they'll fuck your car up a little bit. Yeah you gotta watch out the armadillos. Yeah those are the ones you gotta watch out all right so yeah. football's back. It was awesome to see we have some. Nba should we talk some nba free agency. Because the bulls are back about campbell. Dan campbell campbell man campbell. He's alfred the entire ranks of every he's the most football guy to ever coach in the nfl. I think he's he's he's starting to blur the line where he's no longer a football guy. He's just kind of football. Yes yeah so so. There was a couple of quotes he had. But carl minke tweeted out this morning. That dan campbell is so fired up for the first day of pads that you just went straight into a story about fighting on the first day of pads when he was a rookie all in his opening statement. That's not what i'm looking for. That was the point of the story so he definitely just started talking remm like he's brain sort reminiscent about getting in fights. Yeah and then he had to do the like the dad thing of like. But do as i say not as i do. Yeah but also wink wink. Please do exactly what i did. Yes and then. He had some other comments that he made. Some of the stuff is getting blown like a little bit out of proportion where it's like. Oh man. I can't believe that dan campbell says that he wants a physical football team. Young dan campbell likes coffee. Yeah no duh. He said. I wanna see these guys compete. I want to see these guys. Get to the point where it is an almost all out brawl. But there isn't one if you don't push it almost to that point. You really won't get where you need to get. In my opinion in this league to be competitive at the highest level of all correct taking to the from from dang cam take it to the edge and he did have a great quote. He so excited about the i pads. Now we find out who can deliver some punishment and who can take some punishment. Do we're gonna we're gonna find out. This is a year of of how football guys will do in alpha football guys. I should say in the nfl. Because dan campbell. And joe judge joe judges dealing with it as well because part of the giants or fight or malay. Whatever you wanna call it. They did Laps hundred yard laps and then he didn't like however did it so and then he made everyone you push ups and i feel like that's not gonna go over well with a bunch of millionaire athletes. It went over really well in. Remember the titans. Yeah he got everybody to buy together. Yes movie We're going to say hey fifty watch for the and he's references a few times or this is the first time well in conversation. Well hey hank asked me about it and it will be the same. Yeah i definitely happen. It will happen to say i. I don't know. I think at some point we're going to get coach just doesn't practice. We're going to going to get a coach eventually. Who like. I'm going to get the fastest players. Yeah and the guys that i think are the best on tape. And then we're just gonna study in practice and we'll see how that works player todd haley. Yeah remember todd. Haley got mad. Jackson was like a sometime. We have to let them practice. Yep he's like no. We want to save save. Save them That was a meeting of the minds. Yes jackson and todd haley talking football and then hugh jackson being like. Listen we can do things your way. But i'm the head coach so listen i went. I went oh and sixteen. I think i know what i'm doing. Listen when i get fired from this year job mike. Silver will write something. Nice about me and you'll be the bad guy. Yup so we can do this easy way or the heart. how do you want to be remembered. The annals of history. Let's talk some free agency though. Nba the bowls are back. They have gotten very aggressive cruise. Show lonzo ball and now to marga. Rose in all in the bulls Next year. i'm actually legitimately excited crusoe is are you a little jealous that i get through for crusoe at all. Because i think that by going to the bulls. The value of is enough. T- on the lakers. Go some they weren't making any more point. Good point the heat the heat culture kyle lowry and then chris paul guy tucker yeah. Pj talkers. Well chris paul got one hundred twenty million dollars As a thirty seven year old So credit to him. I think his career earnings are right. Above four hundred million not four hundred forty million as inaccurately reported by darren revell. I you know he had steven. Shay got on top of that. Yes nailed all night just arguing online. That was a sight to be. Yes stephen Was right you know he was right. Hashtag che was right. Shay was absolutely right but I don't know it's weird like at the end of the day. The nba obviously still comes down to like. Do you have one of the top five players in the league. But it is fun to see like i complained a lot about the guard packs situation and now the new bowls offices basically burnt to the ground as fast as possible so they deserve a lot of credit..

"Street with the christmas. All boreas talk all guardians. God yeah the guardians baseball team. That ballpark is abused. And then the guardians on the bridge going over. Aw townhall mayfield. Having drinks at townhall. Yeah yeah yeah. What do you wanna talk about josh. Hey i just wanted to talk about carson. Wentz in this star people anomaly. We really think the call while. He's out for five to twelve weeks hey developmental. Anomalies with quinton thuc nelson. All right. it's not with carson wentz josh. Geez can you listen to frank right. This is giving incredible answers. Josh my bad my bad. I thought it was a good thing. Yeah it was. I guess he had a bone that popped out of nowhere that had been injured in highschool. And now they're getting removed. They said it was a clean surgery. They said he should be back well. Now who knows how accurate that is but he said normally earlier on the projections if the surgery goes clean which he reiterated like three to four times that it did so josh i think he's backed by the season. Thanks for the call over there in cleveland. Oh hi i believe around some issues with phones. People are on then they get hung up on. That is not me. i don't believe that's made. It seems like that is a tech issue. Okay speaking of issues. I'm just reading this now. I did not know. This was the case because i was in a couple of meetings today and then this morning i woke up to golf second round of the year. Not bad still one matt. Stafford hit his helmet at the end of practice and left. Oh yeah This via kevin modesto modesto's either rams got a scare when quarterback matthew stafford hit his throwing them on a helmet near the end of practice. Stafford left the field with some rap but holding his helmet with the hand. I don't know anything yet. Coach sean mcvay said. I think you'll be okay for the quarterback. What the hell is going on. That is one of the best quotes that you'll hear it most training camps you highlighted on hard knocks whenever the guy who taught haley and somebody got into it about the defense being close to the quarterback in todd. Haley said in the nfl. You don't go near the quarterback then corner hotel. Somebody's blocking i. Don't that is not what we're talking at the moment. That is a real thing too because look how much money they put the entire future of the franchise on the line for matthew stafford get moved out of detroit to la. Now they got rid of doff in a massive contract but also numerous first round draft picks. All you need is one person to say. Oh i would have made this sackler showcase this on film and one no look pass from matthew stafford in that bubble that ratio that barrier that you would hope that he's around every nfl quarterback but inevitably doesn't happen in every single play. Because that would be crazy to think that it would but it should In bangor what happens. He breaks right there so at least what six seven weeks three first rounders you gave up and everything done because guy is too close to the goddamn quarterback in that is what you hear offense approaches. Say basically in practice. But it's not as easy as you stay away for quarterback. There's obviously push people pushing on the back of defensive lineman somebody maybe trips and falls you get in there but that is of utmost important. Don't get anybody out here especially as our stars even though it seems like this is potentially happening around the league. Yeah you hope. He's okay but i think they're probably thinking. Hey we're gonna be alright if he is out six seven weeks. 'cause we got we got the wolf. Did we hadn't backup quarterback we've got the wolf. We we already saw what he did last year in the playoffs with her. Then you know the neckbrace and came back and damn near played the next week and then guys players star so yeah and i think they did trade away. All this first renders for matthew stafford de. Maybe if he doesn't start he can back up the wolf. Exactly jared goff. Wasn't that good of a backup. That's what they're saying. He was standing off all by himself. Get remember alaskan. Awful by himself wasn't really helping him out of here. I broken thumb for matthew. Stafford is basically paper. Il plays merely a flesh wound. Throwing hand though. That's tough. Stay away from the quarterback joining us now is a man who has taken.

"Hi this is mike adams. Thanks for listening to adams on agriculture. Join me monday. Through friday for the latest farm and agriculture news from around the world informing america's farmers and ranchers. This is a show produced by the american egg radio network. Here's your host. Mike adams hello everyone. Welcome to a oa. Thank you so much for joining us. Hope you're having a good day. We appreciate you letting us be part of your day coming up. We are going to talk about infrastructure. Not only the package being still worked on in washington. But just where are we as we head into the fall harvest season where are we with rails and and river transportation locks and dams and and course port situation. Are we ready for this harvest. And we'll talk about that with mike. Steve hooke executive director of the soy transportation. Coalition weren't talk markets with dean's lead analyst todd holtman and we'll get another crop report time. We go to eastern kansas. We will talk with. Ken mcauley about how things are looking in his area. Let's start off a check on the news with todd. Neely from dt. And todd good to talk with you doing. Good morning mike. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me well. Good that we're both here a let's Let's look at this latest move by the f. Ethanol industry trying to get the attention. I think of the biden administration so saying hey we can help meet these climate goals if you just give us a chance. And they've written a letter From their member companies saying that they can hit net zero emissions by the year. Twenty fifty i. It just seems like they're trying to get the attention this administration that you don't have to all your eggs in one basket meaning electric vehicles. You have an industry right here right now. That can help you on this. Yeah you know mike. It's interesting because a lot of this story that's that's told to biden in this letter. about reducing emissions and how all can contribute. This is really It's really been a message. That the industry's had for some time. I think You know it's always kind of been in the background. It's always been something that Industry known for a while. But it's improving year in and year out but how it produces ethanol and and particularly its climate. Its climate benefits I think this is probably a one of many steps and maybe to come up with the industry's going to start taking some different Some different tax in terms of trying to reach the biden administration. You know we. We've heard that the rss volumes are delayed for twenty one twenty two So there's a lot of concern When it comes to the us and whether the by epa's is really going to enforce the regulation. Or whether it's just gonna kinda die on the line. And i think i would suspect that this letter that was sent by seventy ethanol companies who are all members of the say I suspect this is just one of many things that the industry is going to attempt to do. And and ways that it's gonna take to Try to gain the attention of the administration. I think they they since the urgency of the moment don't you think the the biofuels industry that Decisions that are going to be made here under. This administration will determine in large part The future of the biofuels industry. Absolutely like i think that that's in play. And i. i also think that one thing to keep in mind too that regardless of what the epa does regardless of what this administration does There's probably always going to be a market for at least ten percent off and all and i know that's not what people wanna hear necessarily The weather you know whatever happens with the. Irs says it doesn't spell the end of the industry but it certainly you know it's an industry that has the potential to grow quite a bit more. I mean we receive what can have on the beach. Fifteen we you know. There's a lot of other things going on. You know high-octane field discussion. I mean there's a lot out there that you know you're talking about reducing climate emissions Ethanol seems to fit in. And not only that like you said it's available now. The industry's raring to go. You know it's always ready for expansion and i It'll it'll be interesting to see if this this particular pledge worksite. I know that a lot of people are frustrated. Enough all right now as to where things stand and it's just well it's just not realistic to think you're gonna just the pardon. The pun flipped the switch said. Everything's electric. i mean. It isn't going to happen. It couldn't happen that quickly no matter how much you wanted to. If if you're on that's if you're long nose law finds of winning it to go that way you'd have to build the infrastructure. You have to make such a change. That doesn't happen overnight. So i think it's nothing else. You would embrace what you have right now. Even if it's your only look at it as a way to you to where you're trying to go if you're making a change absolutely you know like there's a here he said you said something about infrastructure and you're right when it comes to electric vehicle situation there's There's a massive required build out for for electric vehicles to become the next thing And when you look at the up and all industry we've been seeing a build out for quite some time you know. It's kind of kind of evident float. I mean we've had different periods of time where the industry was able to get more done on the infrastructure side of things But it's it's an industry that's been around for a while you know and i and it's It's really it's really kinda surprising where we stand right now. I think a lot of people thought coming into this administration You know we knew there was gonna be climate goals and a lot more aggressive moves on that front and you kind of thought that that's probably would play a role and maybe You know. I think there's still a lot to be done to tell that story and this is I think this is just the first step Going forward and talk about trying to build out an infrastructure. We can't hardly. I mean we've gone two weeks and weeks and they're still can't come to some decision on how to upgrade the infrastructure. We have in place now. Yeah and and you're right you know. We're still seeing in in between the house between senate between the presidency You know there's still a lot going on behind closed doors here about you know. Getting an infrastructure package passed. I think the latest talk. Is this This week i could go on into the weekend And it's really kind of hard to figure out where the divides art and seems like there's a lot of political back and forth on this is there isn't a lot of things in washington That you're right infrastructure is a. It's a huge issue and You know you really like to see some of this. Come to a head and you'd like to see some of it To focus on rural america. So i guess we'll just wait and see but it's kind of a political fight. That doesn't ever seem to end. That's right it just keeps on going. It seems like We're talking with todd holt. i taught hopman todd neely. We're gonna talk for todd. Hope and a little later todd haley. Dtm so as we look for you know some kind of movement here Meanwhile we wait to see what comes to this proposal with the the infrastructure Meanwhile yesterday talked a little bit with the secretary ville sack and he says there are some things happening on his Usda's plan to diversify the the meatpacking industry get help to small producers but again as we talked before small packing plants. I should say at takes a long time to. Yeah absolutely you know and I think. I think it's encouraging sign that we're seeing some action even in congress. Today we've got a number of hearings On the cattle industry and and supply chain that sort of thing. I think the focus has been renewed and i think You know there's gonna be steps along the way we're going to have to have some. Usda intervention whether it'd be offering grants Whatever case may be. And i think this is It's a long term thing you know if we're gonna have a competitive Capital markets and those sorts of things. We're going to have to have a long term strategy. You never have a shortage of hearings. We never have a shortage of those absolutely. Yeah more today todd. Good to talk with you. thanks.

"Winston new orleans. Saints right he. He's a guy who has a opportunity to have a rebirth in his. nfl career. resurgence so to speak. I think when you pair him with sean. Payton michael thomas alvin kamara. The things that drew brees left behind he has an opportunity to really if he's the starter because i'm presuming. He's going to be the starter in hold off tastes him. He'll and he has an opportunity and a chance to prove to everyone that he belongs in the national football league. As a starting quarterback given the fact he was booted out of tampa after thirty interceptions in lord knows how many total turnovers number one number four number four surprise a lot of people cam newton cam. Newton is is a guy who has a lot to prove. Because he's out on cam newton. Ill many there's so many haters out there. Hater dislike cam based on his performance last season which was not a great one. Okay they wanna point to the eighteen touchdowns i if it was like eighteen touchdowns. Oh yes he didn't have anybody to throw the ball to so what that means is they went out and they found people they went out and got nelson nagy. Laurie kendrick born. They went out and said let's upgrade tidy position so he has a lot to prove even though he's a former. Mvp in this league took a team to a superbowl. This is now his second career. His second career starts this year for the new england patriots. In if cam. Newton does not perform at the level in which the new england patriots anticipate him to. He will be working with us very soon. Oh my goodness next up. Mac and cheese number three number three jones jona williams the left tackle the cincinnati bengals. Big spurred can play the position in a reason he's on this list is because he needs to solidify that backside protection for quarterback that was drafted in the first round overall. Pick in joe borough who was injured last year in a lot of that hits that he took was because of the offense a lot they passed on future potential hall of famer. Some compared him to anthony moon yeltsin. Psa soule who got drafted later on. Because they decide to go with your mar. Chase the team a former teammate. Joe borough now you're dealing with a different situation. This is why to meet. Its approval. Year for joel williams number two number two. I hate to do it to him. Henry roads why receiver out of oakland out of oakland out of las vegas. I gotta get oakland out on my mind. When it comes the raiders. They've been in las vegas a couple of years now remember. He lost vegas raters. He's got to step up to the plate whenever you take a receiver this high. He's got a show you more than deep ball production. He's got to be the guy they didn't go out and get a bonafide veteran wide receiver. He's the number one guy for them. High pick little production. His rookie year is time for him to step up if him car plan on figuring out how to get to the playoffs in john gruden's four year number. One and number one is to miami. This team is poised to make a playoff run. It's all on him. No more excuses. The hip his hilt. Now there's players. They drafted jalen wild former teammate alabama. They went on and got will fuller from houston texas. We know what they have in parker at the receiver position pretty good tidying solid. Running game defenses. Good it's all on the quarterback spot those three or four games last year where he was removed from. That can't happen this year because they have been flirting in the off. Season with potential replacements. Starting with the shawn watson eh quarterback. That's terrific list and every single four. There's a bunch of people there. There's a couple of names throw at you. But before i do. There's a couple here. I wanna follow up on number one quickly on rugs. Because that's a name. That definitely jumped out at me as one of those guys where it's like was that was that a good pick. We still need to find out because there's talent there but you would know that position better than anybody. How does he take it. You said more than just a stretch to field guy. What does he have to do to take it to that next level and be more of that that big target that they can look for down after down. He's not. He's not a huge right. It's not a big guy. I meant big target. It's all about jon. Gruden putting him in the right position to succeed. He can't be a one trick pony and sometimes on him does he not have that skill set to do more than just sometimes allen coaches will pigeonhole you as a one trick pony just because that's just their mindset. They go into a saying. Oh we drafted this guy to be the guy to lift the coverage so others can come underneath and catch the ball. And they don't really expand their thought process about what you can do. But it's up to him to show them and that wasn't them to trust that he can do and i go back to my camps for many is working on this. Look what i can. Camp preseason in understanding who you drafted. I'd go back to my own. Monaco go back to my own experience in the national football league. When i first got poor sales that people were trying to tell bill in todd. Haley and dan hitting and charlie weis. I was this They was like nah it. Dan any to his credit said key. Shock run reverses. They wouldn't let me run a reverse saved my life. They kept giving it to little guy the little speedy guy dietrich war in they kept saying you can do it. 'cause little guys i was like just let me first time. I tested housecall seriously against carolina. Panthers tested house call and then the rest was history in at that point. Nobody else touched reverses except me market. You and i talked about jameis winston this week in about what he has to prove. I find that to be an interesting name on this list. James is definitely the one that i was going to key in on. Because i mean of all of these guys is. They're actually going to take them. Like in terms of a guy is right on his heels. Like you don't have time to play around to not. In addition to the the would what has to happen for james. Says he has to continue to play the way he was playing doing mop up duty spot duty when he took over in a short at when he replaced drew brees for a short stint in the game against san francisco. You've got a you've got to c would years if he goes out there and he's throwing the ball to the other team then. I'm going with somebody else but i don't believe in my mind and my heart did sean. Payton will put him in a position to trick it off. He's only going to put him in a position to succeed. That's what coaches like that. Do they make sure you're going to be successful when you have talent. And there's a lot of coaches in the national football league. They just call plays. They just think that they're so smart innovative that they're gonna call the play and not understand your strengths and weaknesses jameis. Winston strengths is not throwing the ball seventy times. The game not straighten his strength is managing the game making a few plays here near not giving too much on his plate. And i think sean understands that..

"Of bill parcells. A my producer was in my ear. Would you say michael. Were you afraid or bill parcells absolutely not i gave him a tongue lashing just like everybody else would that would you know i. I didn't i didn't i didn't bother to him but i respected him and i think because of that he understood well is coming from and respected me equally and return all right now flip time. Why jon gruden. Why didn't you get along with him. What didn't you like about him. You know got along with him. I got along with him enough to play for him. Because i get along with everybody feel but it was just something about him. There wasn't as authentic as other coaches. That i had like dungy john robinson. Bill parcells todd. Haley just wasn't just wasn't authentic. I kinda you know when you send something. That's not right but you can't put your finger on it and i think that's what it was with him individually. I feel like i was right in. I saw every single fireplace superbowl. That's what they live for when you finally want it. Was it everything you expect it to be and did it. Make all the work worthwhile to be honest with you. And i tell people all the time. I don't even remember the super bowl. I remember playing in it and i can recite every single game that i've ever played in every down every distance every play every everything. I can't remember the super bowl i just. I don't know. I don't know i don't remember. I remember you know caught balls. But i don't remember why they gave me a ball in that situation I just said. I think i was just majorly laser focused on winning and that was pretty much it but once you wanna even you don't remember any of the game. Was it worth all the work. Absolutely absolutely all the work everything. I mean outside outside of my wife and my kids is only two things. One other thing that equal at in my graduation from usc other than that it you know super bowl trumps everything. Now you are such highly touted player. Coming out of usc. The number one pick in the draft. Do you think you lived up. To all the hype. I lived up to my expectations. My high i can live up to everybody else's expectations because no matter what you do people going to figure they gonna find something negative about it because they don't fully understand what it takes to be the number one overall pick to be successful or to take a team for one in fifteen to an afc championship game as a wide receiver. That played with. I don't know seventeen eighteen quarterback. So for me i lived up to my billing. I was satisfied in. I may never ever get into pro football hall of fame. But i'm okay with that. I don't doesn't doesn't change me the a pretty good for myself. Don't you think nice. I on the show mike as you know. That's the important part. They got hit pretty damn good for myself. So there's a little bit of a preview there and michael. You know what just happened here right. It's the thing that we like to call. Hide the host as i got to just sit back and let the guest do all the talking. But again the book centerstage my most fascinating interviews from a rod to jay z available. Right now of course. Yeah but still. There are some that need that preparation. I need to know what. I'd want to ask him what he knew right away. What he'd wanna ask you what we do a long time so impaired. That's good is a lot of people get in it and then they get out of it because they're not wide. You look at me like that. I didn't say the one thing last night. Number sons clippers game. "The opportunity to be really successful in Aziz. Good is Todd Bowles was Ki. I do think that We're not talking enough about Byron Leftwich. Um You know, people are gonna look back at this season and go Byron Leftwich, their offensive coordinator. His job was easy. He had telling Brady complete opposite. Complete opposite because if they didn't win it, guess who would have been on television Monday morning, saying Byron Leftwich didn't do a good enough job I would have been, you know the amount of pressure that he was under to go get it done. This year was huge. And he was remarkable last night. Hey, Dad, You said you would be a TV money more than I was about to say. Will you wasn't that guy in the press conference that got tired. Bull's confused empire left rich. Don't wanna laugh. I don't wanna laugh. Come on, man. E gotta make you laugh. Hey, witness. I know, right? Oh, A win is a win is a win. Did the referees getting away last night at all in that game? That in the 1st 10 minutes or 1st 15 minutes for sure, they stunk. The referee stunk, and they were making it about themselves. But if they played that game 500 times that way the Bucks would win. 500. This was just a mauling this the worst game kids cities played in three years. They didn't They picked it, obviously a poor time to do it. The referee's report. But I mean, that did not have an actual determining factor. And who was gonna win this football game. Tampa Bay was just significantly better. Theo does this win put Bruce Arians into the Hall of Fame. Probably not, You know, I mean, probably not, You know people, and he's had a really good run of some stretches. Coaching wise, especially in India. He was impactful with with Ben and with Todd Haley is a swell Pittsburgh but I don't think it puts him in the Hall of Fame. But it's certain you know what would put him in the Hall of Fame, though, Jay I think in the Hall of Fame of a lot of people's eyes and Dominic Fox words are mean Ryan card made this point to me this morning. This is a copycat league. And, um you know, we often we point to, you know, everyone wanted Shawn McVeigh er and I love Shawn. But people that were attached to Shawn or everyone wanted people that were attached to Bill Belichick. You know, there's a great amount of diversity on Bruce's staff. When it comes to black coaches and also female coaches and Ryan card brought up this great point is he's going to be really interested to watch if people sit back. Attached themselves to the people that are attached to Bruce and those people are black coaches and female coaches. And it'll be really interesting if that happens, and that really changes the way that people look at stuff. Then that would put him in the Hall of Fame. You know, as far as impactful coaches that have come to our league Indio have another side of bombing. So much is going on. Andy Reid's son have an accident. You know issues with the old line. Patrick Holmes supposed gonna have surgery on that toe. That's the case, you know? Do you think this team is a chance to be back there next year? What do you give their chances to be? To be back there, of course, Then you played that game. Yeah, this This team will be out of the favorite of the second favorite to go win the Super Bowl next year because they got so many pieces back. The offensive line issues just caught up to them. You know that. That's the reality. They just called up to them toe play in that game against that defense. You know, with how well they played and have so many missing pieces up front. J. Like the reality of footballs. This no one loves the creativity and the fun and all that stuff more than me if you can on the line of scrimmage Could do whatever. What happened, so? Yeah, Kansas. It will be right back there. Patrick is still the best player in football. I know. A lot of people are saying Patrick Holmes didn't play well, go watch the game. He was unbelievable. He was running for his life handball..

"Those last nine games. Right is a good guy. And you're right. It was too late. So you go to Tampa Bay. You have four Really good years. There. You win a Super Bowl in 37. The Lord Keyshawn for the younger fans out there is by the time you were done. In Tampa Bay before you went back to play for Parcells again in Dallas. You didn't dislike Jon Gruden. You hated his guts. That was at a overstatement gets an overstatement. I just You know, in my career, I'm I'm the type of person I don't want to be s. I don't like coaches to try toe play games with my career play games in my career making make people think that I shouldn't play and I felt like John was John did that he You know you wanted to try and make it seem as though I didn't know how to play football. While I'm sitting and I'm saying to myself like you out of your mind, and so that's the reason that I just didn't you know, I think I couldn't deal because it was a lot of game plane. A lot of maneuvering, gaining something I hadn't experienced with with. You know Dan Henning and Bill Parcells and Todd Haley. Charlie Weis. I didn't experience that. It wasn't what I experienced. I don't experience that with Tony Dungy is this staff but I extremist to be Jon Gruden. Yeah, everything was everybody else's father. Not here, and I just couldn't deal. I wanted to get out of there. Don't blame him. Keyshawn Johnson 96 to 2006 between the Jets, the Buccaneers. He won that Super Bowl 37. The Cowboys and the Panthers had an amazing career. You remember that game? Well, I was in San Diego and I party like a rock star weekend. In fact, I missed my show on Saturday night on W went there because I was hammered somewhere in us and you go the night before the game, But I just remember everybody is saying that you guys couldn't lose because Jon Gruden had coached the open waiters before that. And he knew what Bill Callahan was going to do even before Bill Callahan get it, And then some of you guys would say to me. Listen, listen, Stop. We got to go out there. School. 48 point speed up, which kind and it wasn't only about Jon Gruden. So when you hear that, now, was it more about Grudin knew what the waiters were going to do what? You were just a better team that day. No, we're better team. It was not about John Group. John John obviously knew some stuff. But it's not knowing it's understanding from a scouting report everything John do we saw film anyway. It was not It's not like John You know, I was coaching the team. You know what I'm saying? Like way knew certain formations. There's a tendency this is what they do the same thing they do now. And we had a stellar gee kid, anyway in our offense was clicking. You know you were you went back to play for Parcells again. Couple of years in Dallas, and you ended up playing in Carolina Actually last season, Keyshawn 70 catches overhead 800 yards. A lot of guys don't retire after a season like that. That is still a very productive season. But you decided in 2006 to hang it off so well and the conversation with this those years with New York Four years in Tampa Bay, including a Super Bowl win the other couple of years in Dallas and Carolina. Do you consider yourself a New York jet? Um, between the judge and the bucks, Okay? Who have something when I retired. I mean, yeah, I could've kept playing. I retired into my own power. I just, You know, some people are mean to kept playing. You get in the Hall of Fame. I'm not think that wasn't my goal. My goal wasn't what I'd beat the odds. I accomplices. I accomplished my mission and my mission was to be successful. Have a good NFL career and make money. It wasn't about it chasing statistics in gold jacket, and I think a lot of people because of my personality. They don't quite understand or get that they think I want to go in the hall of Fame, and I don't care about them. Damn all the bank. Hey, listen, man At the end of the day, like you said, you made a ton of money. You're doing sports talk radio and ESPN around the country right now. You wrote a successful book. You're on dancing with the stars. You're a handsome guy. God bless you. Even now, you got the world by the balls cares about the Hall of Fame. You want to be able to You know, accomplished. Much of goals over you Get to the NFL. My girls was the little world championship. I did it. My girls was to make some money at DD and I'm happy I was happy walking away. You know, a lot of people 70 catches, you know, it's like, Wow, Man. He's 70 catches. You can't 70 balls. You can't 70 balls in this day and age a g $20 million a year. It really is true, man. It has. It has changed. Our last thing. I'll give you I'll give you credit right here. Keyshawn. And I know you've heard this a million times that one more time because back then I was on the fan covering the judge pretty intensely. And what jet bands that said Don't worry. When Keyshawn leads we've got Wayne Chrebet and I love women. I know Wayne personally. He's a nice kid, Hofstra, Long Island. But when Keyshawn wasn't there Wayne Chrebet became the number one wide receiver. He wasn't the same way and prevent so just just to keep showing how great you are, besides your own numbers. Because you were out there. Other players like Wayne Chrebet were better football players. You know, it worked hand in hand man Really did, uh, I'd like to tell people went from that was the original Wes Welker and he did a tremendous job. When he had the opportunities to do it big we I thought we worked well together. Um, you know, and he did what he needed to do. He beat the odds as well. Unheralded kid out of hostile university Constant gently give him an opportunity. And he made a lifelong dream out of it. Then you know you can't take that away from me. I just wish he wouldn't play as long as he give play because you know he suffers from some clean questions and things of that nature. But you know, he loved to play the game and He wanted to play it to the end. Any did our star of Super Bowl 37. The last time the Buccaneers made the Super Bowl they wanted with Keyshawn Johnson on the team. Once again, you can catch Keyshawn every morning. Nationally. He even here in New York on ESPN radio. It's great to catch up with you. Keyshawn Always been a big fan early in my career..

"With J rentals. Diversity in the coaching ranks may just be a no brainer. That's in two minutes. SportsCenter all night taking you up to Keyshawn J. Will and Zubin at the top of the hour. We have two teams to head coach is still standing in the NFL this season. Bruce Arians, Andy Reid. Incidently former Chiefs coach Todd Haley against this morning with Keyshawn J. Willens Uman over a couple hours from now just after eight o'clock eastern time. Meanwhile, there have been seven new head coaching hires in the NFL the past few weeks, including in Philly. The next bringing in Nick. Sorry, Annie. The consensus being. It's good for Nick for Carson Wentz, but They're the bad optics of the story. Not only that he was interviewed in casual vacation where, but the Eagles brass dress down so he'd feel comfortable. Then came his introductory press conference, which, if you missed it Didn't make him seem many more comfortable. Next thing that's very important to me is that we build a smart football team that we have a smart football team here, and I know we have the people in place to do that. The first part of that the first part of being smart is knowing what to do. We're gonna We're gonna know we're gonna have systems in place that Are easier to learn. Write complicated to the defense or offense that they're going against the special teams group. They're going as but easy for us to learn, because when we can put that because we when we can learn our system and we can get good at our system, then our talent can take over less thinking equals talent take over, But we need to have systems in place and we will have systems in place to do so. Couple of things at play on the heels of that, for the guys that highly questionable one The ongoing questions around NFL hirings, but also for the Eagles. Just getting books folks to buy into whatever the system is. Dominique Fox Worth is a former cornerback. That's that's hard to get behind. We talk about guys who can command a room like we always hear all this nonsense about all these Alfa male. Somebody come in there and be the Alfa of all Alphas. That ain't that dude, you know, like I feel sorry, because, like I understand being nervous and uncomfortable in front of the media, but them cameras ain't nearly as scary or as intimidating as a room full of grown men who are putting their health on the line every week to ball out for you and for them, So I'm gonna find it hard to believe that guy's going to get in there. And believe in him if he starts delivering these speeches or game plans like he just got it handed to him, like Clearly, those talking points were just handed to him. He would. They just gave those notes game I pull over and pushed him in front of cameras that read this, Eric, The enemy is at the crib. Furious right now that David Cully dude is like I'm 65 years old and I had to wait for a team to catch on fire to get my chance. His duty is hoarding. Hey, he couldn't even bother to wash.

"ESPN radio, The ESPN app Sirius XM. Channel 80. We have a couple of marquee quarterbacks set to square off on Sunday and Super Bowl 55. Of course, they're no stranger to each other. There's been much made of the 2018 a F C championship when Tom Brady's sought out Patrick Mahomes After New England's win My home's reflections for me. I think it was important because it showed that I was doing things the right way. As a young quarterback in this league, you kind of go in, you show up early, and he tried to put in the time and put in the work. But you don't really know. And so you get to that, that that spot where you wanna be in losing the Naoshi chance to game. Obviously, I didn't get to the Super Bowl, but then him coming in and kind of just Just saying that he respected what I was doing and how I was planning on building and the type of person that I was, um it kind of just stamp on me body to go any better in order to get some soup bowl, which we did last year, and, uh, I was trying to keep improving and keep getting better Every single day. I'm back to the present where we are gearing up for this weekend. At least Rob Gronkowski is so I'm gonna be honest, like I've done it and you know, it does get you a little excited and gets the juices going flowing when you could just walk into a room like a stadium like a arena, actually, And there's fans in the stands just to watch you talk just to watch you be at media Day on just so many reporters around it gets the juices flowing big time. I mean, I'm just sitting here in a room by myself right now, like there's no one around so like the juices are flowing. As much as if you're in a room with media people going crazy, asking questions, fans cheering music going, But I mean, the juice is still our forward. It still is Super Bowl week, but it is totally different. Rise and grind with Keyshawn J Will and Zubin 6 to 10 eastern time here on ESPN Radio. Complete Super Bowl week coverage among the guests coming up this morning, Todd Haley, former Chiefs coach and Steelers offensive corded, Ronnie Lott. And you know, Tom Brady was talking about I'm sure you guys discussed on the show tonight how you kicked his family out there out for 12 days, and he's just mentally locked in and all it is is football. So I think in terms of the most comfortable game we will ever see in terms of Super Bowl. It's gonna be this one because everyone is just kind of going about this. "Don't think the game itself will be some type of crazy home field advantage. So I think this year Out of all years. A distinct home field advantage in the Super Bowl doesn't really exist anyway, so I don't think that's a huge advantage this week for the Buccaneers. We head in the two Super Bowl week starting tomorrow. With all of the pomp and circumstance in the lead up heading into Super Bowl 55 as Patrick Mahomes. Tom Brady, the Chiefs of the Buccaneers go at it a week from today. Lot to get to this morning here on the show for Sunday morning football. Criticize my great that the hiring practice like, wouldn't hell that that guy had great. What? Why was he even given a chance to be a head coach this year? It's not. It doesn't feel that way. I agree with you, By the way, it's Nick Syriani, who's now the head coach, and Once Peterson was sent packing, you don't really know which direction they would go. It seemed like for a hot minute that McDaniels was, you know, talking about the tarmac, it looked like he was getting ready to land that plane and, you know, waltz into that office is a little bit of it's actually it's more than a little bit of a surprise. To me. It's a huge surprise doesn't mean it's the wrong move. A ZAY read from CBS sports dot com and then we gotta play this bit from from Campbell's press conference, So Syria for those who don't really know much about Nick Syriana hears as I read again for the website Syriani served As the Colts. Oh, see for the past three years, all under Frank Reich. Which obviously somebody good to me A good A good alignment there right is good, who was previously the Eagles, OC, Syriani and right have a history of coaching together outside of Indianapolis. They were with the Chargers from 2013 to 2015. Syria on it was the quarterbacks coach when Wright was offensive coordinator, so he's obviously worked his way up. He had that role for two years, then three years for the O. C. For the Colts. He's 39. He also was under Todd Haley in a multitude of roles from 2009 through 2012, So a couple of different organizations, couple of different positions rolls working his way up. I like it. I mean, the worst thing that you could do it, and I'm not listen. By the way. I've done this in the past, but I've gotten away from this. And fans definitely do this and you know, I consider myself a fan. That's why I say I've done it. I can't stand when something is like universally denounced solely because you don't know much about the person. It's one thing to stop short of saying home run higher, But you don't have to say that it was a horrendous higher because that the name doesn't resonate and a lot of fans do that. Nixon who the hell's mixed Syria What's W y piece number W y p. Knicks. Syriani. Who are you guys crazy? Christ was born in New York. But that was seriously they guarantee. He that there's a large contingent of Eagle fans who are ticked off for no reason ticked off for no reason. Yeah, you know that at which to me is is confounding. Yeah, well, I mean, it's the Eagles or the one that you, um you look at and you know that there was conditions set of prior to the hiring. And that is Carson. Wentz has got to be your guy. Jalen hurts is here. You have a legit and quarterback issue. I'm not gonna sit. Call it a controversy, but there's a legit Quarterback issue here. And so whoever they were hiring knew that the owner has an affinity towards Carson Wentz. Maybe because they paid $128 million. It could be a It's just a little bit of the year after you had a role about exactly so. So. But there is there is a little bit of an issue with the quarterback. You can you get him, right? Um you know, are you Can you stay committed to him? It's one of those things that you know, it's some plenty, Uh, coaches might look at and say, I can't guarantee that and that disqualifies them If it makes any sense, that's the holy. That's the on Lee thing that It's kind of there for the Eagles. That's not, you know, we're going to give you control is your team take us back where we need to be. That's the only thing about the Eagles. That's the only job that I look at it. I'm saying Is a little bit of a caveat that might have limited you know what a new head coach could bring their Okay, let's put the eagle stuff on poles permitted by the way. Next segment. We've got an eagle's greater legend Deena Donna McNabb's in the House to talk about Well, what happened with the hiring and more specifically, what the hell went wrong with with with Carson Wentz and Haddie rehabilitative, full state of the Eagles with down McNab coming up so I don't know. You know what this press conference going to sound like with Nick Syriani? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to sound like this because no press conferences sounds like this. And this is the best press conference I've ever heard. And you have to now you won't have the visual unless, of course, you're watching this on CBS Sports Network. But if you listen to us all the affiliates radio dot com Just imagine this massive monstrosity of a hulking figure, right? I mean, he's a big dude. Campbell's a big made strong shoulder. He's a presence, right? And you could actually as he's describing what you're about to hear. You can actually see his face like tightening up and tensing up, and this was awesome lying fans. Listen to this again. This is fantastic, Dan Campbell. So this team's gonna be built on. We're gonna kick you in the teeth, All right, And when you punch is back, we're gonna smile at you. And when you knock us down, we're going to get up And on the way up, we're gonna buy the kneecap off, all right, And we're gonna stand up and then it's going to take two more shots to knock us down. All right. And on the way up, we're gonna take your other kneecap and we're gonna get up and then it's gonna take three shots to get us down. And when we do, we're gonna take another hunk out of you. Before long. We're gonna be the last one standing. All right, that's gonna be the mentality. I love that way, obviously play the courage, but that was earlier. It was early, but you saw me. But I say that because that was not like the only part that was animated. I mean, the whole thing He went on for, like, 15 minutes. You know way. Do it. Go ahead, Decell play that one to go ahead. This place has been kicked. It's been battered. It's been bruised, and I could sit up here and give you coach Speak all day long. I can give you uh, you know. Hey, we're gonna win this many games. I can't But none of that matters and you guys don't wanna hear it. Anyway, You've had enough of that. So excuse my language that it's he's right, though. Take he's right that now he's talking to the locker room. Obviously, he's talking to the fan base. Obviously. Only thing I could tell you is that as a fan, and it's somebody who knows the lion fan a little bit. I am so happy for me because number one. I loved Campbell going in the hiring process. Um, I'm admittedly I like Matt Campbell a little bit more and even said this, he said, You know what? What? What do you think? He was asked the question. Why do you think you landed a six year deal? And he basically said, Well, because I think that they thought it was I was Matt Campbell like great great way to disarm and great, great sense of comedic timing. That's a well placed line because everybody was Matt Campbell Audio is gonna leave Iowa State. They thought I was mad Cable they tacked on an extra year to this guy is perfect for that market, and they must be bumped. Yeah, No, he also talked about how in Detroit has been had been beat down and they always find a way to get back up, And it's not dissimilar to Joe to Joe Judges Press conference When he took over for the New York Giants, he said, Look, this team is going to Represent this community, and we're going to be a hard nose and blue collar, and I love that because that's what football is in. Really. That's what fans want Football to be mean. It's one thing to, you know, look at some of the players and their individual brands is that worthy individual brands, guys really polished and Yeah, yeah, yeah, but on Sunday, I want to do this in an ass kicker, right? I want a guy that can take a lick him. It's going to do it is going to deliver a lichen, and he's mean and he's dirty and he's nasty. And at the end of the day, he's gonna be tougher than the guy across from him..

"Old or promoting the quarterbacks coach Matt Canada. Offensive coordinator. Now I know Matt Canada. Because he was the University of Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator for a year And then he got hired by L s u where he flopped. He's Ah, tough s O B. He's a strict disciplinarian. He's an attention to details guy. We'll get up in a player's face if he has to. Think that doesn't want that. You watch and follow Stiller's at all America. You know that better office Burger and Todd Haley. Had issues. That Canada's coaching style is a lot like Todd Haley's Now. Now at 39 years old Ben's gonna have the Grin and Barrett and suck it up and deal with that. Gonna get ugly. If the Steelers are hiring these people or getting rid of guys that try to usher Ben out. He's not gonna make it that easy on him. I don't think he'll retire on his own. I think you'll force the organization to release him or cut him and the Steelers don't want to do that. They don't want the p The P R nightmare. Even though it's time They don't want to be the ones they don't want to look like the bad guy. They don't wanna look like the bad cop here. So that's why I'm in Pittsburgh, and I'm talking to a lot of people, and it's complicated. It's a complicated situation right now. I mean, I don't think it should be. I think these are Professor. This is professional sports. These are professional athletes. I don't think there's a lot of room for sentimentality and feelings. These are humans that have long term relationships and they've won Super bowls together. So that's what makes it hard. Um, I don't work for the Steelers. So it's easy for me to tell you straight up. This is what they should do. I think they got a hard time. They might know that's true. Then I think that's true. The bends done, but I don't Don't have a lot of confidence in them executing that and telling the big guy to walk away. And if you don't walk away on your own terms will kill you. Rams have their 1st 1st down of the game. Halfway through the first quarter at Lambeau. It's Packers three RAM stuff in Green Bay's drive stalled in the red Zone. They came away with only a field goal had first and goal to five settled for three. Rams had their 1st 1st down on this drive and now golf best play to this point. About a 15 yard throw over the middle catch and run. Into Packers territory, So they got the ball, not the Green Bay 42. First down away from field goal range. I've got it. Hey! If golf and he I think he's thinks Well, you know, it's not like he hasn't had big games before. If he steps it up here, then. If I'm wrong about golf and his performance in this game. Rams can win. I don't look.

New York Jets finalizing deal to hire Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator
"New York Jets have a new defensive coordinator. His name is Greg Williams. Excuse me. Former defensive coordinator. For the Cleveland Browns who took over as interim head coach once Hugh Jackson and Todd Haley, the offense coordinator in Cleveland were relieved of their duties actually thought he did a damn good job and was worthy of headstrong head coaching consideration. But they decided to give it to Freddie, Cureton because he's got a good relationship with Baker Mayfield a number one overall pick and that is that. Nevertheless, no matter which way, you slice it. It's going to be interesting to see how Adam gays. Bob's with Greg Williams. But I think that Greg Williams bountygate and all is a big time defensive coordinator that infuses the kinda right attitude, certainly not going to have tolerance for softies. I think that will work very very well with somebody like Jamal Adams. And I think the jets are moving in a different direction in a forward direction because of it.

Browns fire coach Hue Jackson ahead of trade deadline
"General manager with their old. Hey, coach, hue Jackson. It was destined to fail. And it did finally on Monday when the Browns released Hugh Jackson with time left on his contract this season and next season. So the Browns will be paying him through two thousand nineteen but it will give John Dorsey and Alonzo Highsmith and Elliott Wolff in the Browns for an office the chance to go hire their own head coach, they are I in the pool this year. They get the start looking for an interviewing coaching candidates right now, if they want to go talk to Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma taking go do that. If they want to go talk to any other college coach, they can go do that. They don't have to hide behind anything right now. The Browns are the first out for a coaching search. And then of course, they make the change in offense coordinator firing Todd Haley and bringing in Freddie kitchens who doesn't have extensive experience running an NFL offense. So it'll be interesting to see how kitchens calls play. Days starting Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. And so the Cleveland Browns the first team to overhaul their coaching staff, but the real changes came Tuesday with a flurry of moves that made this one of the busiest trade deadline days in NFL history. Last year was very busy. Because at the last moment in the twenty four hours leading up to the deadline. We saw Jimmy Garoppolo traded from New England to San Francisco j Gye traded from Miami to Philadelphia Dwayne Brown from Houston to Seattle. Marcel Darius from buffalo to Jacksonville and Kelvin Benjamin going from Carolina to buffalo end the almost trade of AJ McCarron from Cincinnati to Cleveland, the got foiled when the Browns could not get the deal done in time by the four o'clock deadline by the four o'clock deadline this year. There was no such thing. Holding back a flurry of moves. We saw de. Ver- trade Pro Bowl wide receiver. Damaris Thomas and a seventh round pick to the Houston. Texans for a fourth and seventh round pick. As will the interesting part of that trade is that Thomas is first game with the Texans will come Sunday in Denver against the Broncos team. That just traded him. Thomas was the longest tenure Bronco and get the Broncos say goodbye to him because really they weren't going to keep his fourteen million dollars salary around next season in my mind. The most surprising move right before the deadline. Came win Detroit traded golden Tate to Philadelphia for a third round pick. So many teams had made so many inquiries to the lions about golden Tate. But they had resisted all overtures for him. But finally, they broke down and dealt Tate to the eagles who for the second straight year made a trade right at the deadline last year Gye this year Tate, as they look to try to keep up with the rest of the NFC east another team in the NFC making.

The Browns coordinators got testing practice yesterday over this one Browns reporter tweeted this out, Todd Haley, upset with the defense getting too close to Baker Mayfield said, quote, good teams don't touch the bleep in quarterback to which Greg Williams responded will block them, then artsy see, is this a big deal? Which side are you on here? No, I don't have to be on the side. This is info football. A lot of times now, because Cleveland, they have the microphones. They have the cameras there. And then I'm just going to tell you in recent weeks. I haven't talked about a team that won one game until. More than I've talked about the Brown. So I guess that's that's a positive thing. But these are normal things in practice. The defense, they have an agenda. They have a call sheet. They have the defense they're going to run and they're going to run blitzes the offense. They have a call. She, the plays, the protections, and all those protections call for a guy to block almost every guy on the defense when people don't do their job, coaches, yell at players. Both of these coaches are right. You are not going to be a good team by hitting your quarterback in practice. Every team that knows this from high school where we put them in jerseys there in jersey, for reason that guy's value to the team. It can't be replaced and you have to learn as young football team white Cleveland. You have to learn how to practice, right, and I don't care bakers, rookie. Learn how to practice because of the game has changed. You have to learn how to practice in short. You have to learn how. To be competitive, but not combative. You have to learn how to get guys better and learn how to not guys down and Bill to help guys up and not worry about how looks because there are certain things you just cannot do on the football field in practice that because you're trying to get ready for the game like you don't take certain angles once you have a lime in if I've drive all the way back up by your Nick, I'll take my hand down. I'm put it more on your breastplate, right?
