"Wisconsin caught twenty, six balls as junior. I mean. Jonathan Taylor if this was like ten years ago would have been like a top five pick in the NFL draft like for sure so I don't. Know. The ADP gap is massive. I. Don't know how long Marla Max be able to hold off Jonathan Taylor. My main point bring this up is I didn't want people to buy into the coach speak about Marla Mac quote unquote starter. But what do you think about what's going on India's up-to-date now in the middle of August. So I think that the colts are set up to have a ton of team rushing attempts because first of all, they have the softest schedule a according to a opposing win totals. During the twenty twenty season and that hints at future positive game scripts they have. Other returning all five starters on the offensive line for maybe the best offensive line in the League they didn't need to go trade up for Jonathan Taylor in the draft. They had Marlin Mac, bring it back in that game hinds Jordan Wilkins I think is a serviceable. Serviceable number three back. They did not have to do that but they did. I, think they want to run the ball. We saw that from them last year I think that they don't WanNa put Philip rivers into situations where he's having to throw the ball forty times game. Their defense I think is going to be better this year they're a team that is maintaining an incredible continuity from the offensive line to the head coach, the offensive coordinator. To the defensive coordinator obviously the changing out the quarterback but a quarterback knows knicks. Year Yanni though see Anne Frank Reich from sandy from San. Diego. They were all together on the chargers so. I think this is going to be a very, very run heavy team and that allow that will even when Jonathan Taylor takes over which I agree with you is inevitable I still think that Marlin Mac is going to be involved to some extent and I'm willing to take Marlin time and time again in the tenth round because I think that he has a chance at some standalone value and if something happens to Jonathan. Taylor Johnson Taylor's fumbling problems creep up back from fumbled eighteen times in three years at Wisconsin. He never asked pass block at Wisconsin. He caught very very few passes There is some downside there to Jonathan, Taylor enough for me to like Marlin Mac in the Ninth Tenth Eleventh Round, which is usually wearing it goes nobody's excited sake MARLIN MAC this year and I get it but I'll take him definitely is my arm before my. Yeah Kinda. Similar to the carry on Johnson situation which we can talk about more on another pod but. One thing that I would say for people who like and we were talking Leoni about this a little bit about thinking in the context of WHO's going to be a first round pick in the twenty twenty one fantasy draft of the two, thousand, twenty, two fancy dress and you can start to. Shape your takes that way in God. I mean, Jonathan Taylor isn't a first or second round pick next year. I'd be shocked with Marlin. Contract coming up in just the way that they're going to indies GONNA play in their offensive line, their scheme John Taylor prospect profound. That's why if you go to packers dynasty rankings, you'll see how high Jonathan Taylor is an and I think I've mentioned this before but the situation for Jonathan Taylor reminds me a lot of Josh Jackson last year where we really can't have a higher reception target expectation for Jonathan Taylor would he could jump on the scene and be just become one of the best rushers in the League and situation is environment is a lot better than. Josh was jumping into last. He's going to come in here at these got even better breakaway like long-run potential at a lot at Wisconsin. So sort of like a rich man's version of Josh Jacobs. Entering Lash I. Think Josh shake like a third or fourth round pick now he's a consensus second round pick. I could see you know the a very similar situation playing out for Jonathan Taylor. In the future I didn't article in the draft. Last year right tried to project is we're going third round or later who would be in the first round this year and I had some good hits at Derrick Henry on their Mile Sanders Josh Jacobs. Godwin I'd. Also had OJ Howard God. I had carry on Johnson cy I Christian Kirk side but anyways I'm we're to that article for this year now and we'll see how it goes Okay. Exchange, you have moved Randall cobb into the top one fifty at wide receiver, Fifty, eight, hundred and thirty fifth overall just ahead of Anthony Miller in Odyssey you go back and listen to my conversation with a Matt Harmon Anthony Miller, he's very high on Anthony Miller Ram Cobb is kind of Noah's can be excited about the com had fifty five catches. Last year for Dallas has their number three wide receiver entering his age thirty season seems. Like he's been around forever, but he's I can lose only thirty like he's been in the League for ten years. I can't believe he's only thirty. But anyways, pretty good situation here, and if you think will fuller is not a load bearing wideout I e will fuller and Brandon Cokes aren't getting eight nine ten targets game. Maybe there's enough for Randall Cobb in there to sneak into what made you put Randall cobb into the top one fifty now. Yeah, just sort of reevaluating the Texans situation I think that they're going to be first of all they have one of the toughest schedules in the League. They're going to be throwing the ball often I think their defense is used. Absolutely, miserable and I like taking shots on their receiver core although we are very high on Willfuller and we're gonNA stay that way. We also do have to understand that there is a major injury risk to will fuller. So if will fuller. Goes down as he has been known to do than targets are going to be distributed among a wide receiver core that becomes Kenny Stills Randall Cobb and rain and cooks. Brain cooks also has a concerning injury history. Kenny stills miss already missed a big chunk of training camp. On. NFL by they don't have. They do not have target commanders at tight end and a shawl watch watches not a check down quarterback like he doesn't check down two running backs frequently. So I think I think that Reno conscious has a very secure role. You know he's not the sexiest player I. Think he's a very, very fine basketball pick I think he does make sense stacks with Shawn Watson and I think that secure role in a.

"He was a UTSA running back who apparently had a pretty good camp. They just didn't the numbers game didn't work out for him but overall I mean you have to check on the status of George. Kill. But for the forty niners I in most leads with Nick mullins probably starting quarterback a Jimmy Garoppolo. Dealing with a high ankle, you probably need to just play Jerick McKinnon and George Qaddafi plays and then move on from this game. It is nasty for the forty niners. Okay. So on the giants part of it. By the way I I would assume Jerick McKinnon probably picked up in most leagues but maybe what about for the giants and their signing devante Freeman yeah and Joe Judge China quote today like well, we think he has some juice left on like well I. Hope. So because he just signed him and I'll tell you who I think has juice left is dion Lewis. He did I know he played every snap. After saquon went out reason is because he was their only other tailback active they had full Elijah pending the full-back also active demonte. Freeman I, think's going to start here. It might. It might take some time but I consider him kind of like a flex rb to the rest of the year you have to you have to consider by the way. that. that. I mean he he isn't up to speed, and also the Falcon signed the corpse of Todd Gurley and cut devante Freeman Okay so that that tells you they thought he was physically but the opportunity should be here. Daniel Jones I. Think this. This thing hurts the whole offense quite frankly, but he might have to throw it a little bit more. The downside is they just put sterling. Shepard on IRR. So they have saquon. Barkley after the year shepherds out for at least three weeks, he's got turf toe. So Golden Tate Darius Slayton. Richard Sherman is is intermediary sleet and shouldn't have a big game here as well because I don't know what else they're going to do offensively, and in this game there are there are two tight ends you can consider I already mentioned kittle, but I don't forget to mention Jordan Redo two touchdowns last week, and of course, Evan Ingram's GonNa. Get targets to the giants because they have no one else to catch the football. So Jordan Reed in play if kindle doesn't play Evan Ingram obviously in play here, even though I think you struggled this year so far but certainly a Really..

"Is. One of the founders here at Etr and we are just three short weeks away from week one very clear. Now that the NFL is going to happen we need to get our big boy pants on for that. Of course. I. Am joined by the move of ADP's the Lord of your top fifty rankings. It is fellow Co founder Evan Silva Evan what's going on? NFL teams are practicing those people that were calling US idiots for thinking. There would be an NFL season for months and months have somehow evaporated into dust and it's a great great time of year. Unfortunately we don't have any preseason games to bet on a play DFS with but. I'll tell you what what we're being given right now, and it's it's a lot of information. We've had a lot of early injuries. We had some significant rankings movement and that's we're gonNA focus on today. Yeah. In an alternate universe right now. Ryan. Griffin. Is just throwing touchdowns to tanner Hudson and just total. Total pants off anyways for anyone new here I hope that you'll go back and listen to a lot of the positive already done this off season over the last few months we've covered a ton of ground. We're going to cover a ton more ground over the next few weeks with a lot of podcast. Be Sure your subscribed. It's free more importantly as Evans said, football is happening my friends I know a lot of people have to doubt all off season maybe not. Under normal preparation because they thought football wouldn't happen but it is and we've been working on draft kit for the last five months keeping continuously updated. It's just thirty five dollars. If for whatever reason the season does end up getting canceled, you'll get a free kit whenever the NFL resumes I think there really is a big edge to be had like you can see it in some of these best ball drafts that we've been doing on underdog and on draft kings FTC like. We have a ton of content rings up for the Best Ball. So you can see in the best ball stuff that seems like people are less prepared than normally are we can certainly get an edge. So heads established dot com check out everything in our draft really appreciate everyone who has already purchased. As said, there's been a lot going on camps are open. Guys are hitting pads. were seeing I, he reports from beat reg as some injuries which we're GONNA get into. We have ten or eleven topics here we're GONNA hit on today I wanNA start with this todd Gurley story and and It was like early and I was reading and I came across this report from Von McClure ESPN and the quote was this McClure's is covered the falcons for awhile considering probably one of the Best Falcons beat reporters he says during the early phases of the Falcons acclimation period todd early walked with a noticeable limp and more compression sock on his left leg yet he showed speed and explosion in drills he went on to say one source familiar with. girly from his days with the Rams told the ESPN girly can't put his foot in dirt and go like the old todd early. But he can still be a productive back and so I tweeted that out and I think it set off you know major alarms and immediately I was in drafts where tiger wasn't going into the fourth or fifth round where previously ADP was twenty, nine, point five I think that might be a little bit of an overreaction. But if you listen to the bus episode, I was out on Todd Gurley even before this I think Evan was maybe a little bit more optimistic than me does this quote scare you at all tied girly Evan. I'm I think it's somewhat expected and we didn't. I didn't have to make any rankings movements. Here we are. Mean we're not that far off. Of together in terms of straight up positional rank, but we are way low or when you're looking at the top one fifty. Maybe twenty spots lower or something like that. then. His ADP. So look we we know that there is a major downside to Todd Gurley when we're drafting inside those first four rounds or so we are absolutely more concerned with the downside of the players that were picking. Then when we get into the seventh round, that's why we like will fuller. We taking chances on a guy like willfuller because he doesn't know until the sixth or seventh round and we don't really have to worry about his floor there as much. We're investing top three and four round picks on guys. We want to be concerned about their floor and Todd Gurley has. A scary floor because at some point that knee can get could potentially just give out on him. Dirk Koetter, their OC expressed concern about the health of Todd Gurley. I've read some practice reports that indicate that they are limited him which is smart on on their behalf But I think the Brian had this a good reminder Brian. Hill is not a terrible pick at the end of dress in again about the red light. Floor that Todd Gurley. Presents although he did enter a good situation in Atlanta. There's a lot of downside risk there. What about ceiling risk like I I think that Indian best case scenario todd early might only sixty percent of the snaps right like let's say he's perfectly fine. The needs fine. I don't see them and that's not what the Falcons have done. Anyway they've been using. It was healthy. They were using judge Ito Smith and Brian, Hill and guys like that. So I kinda think in the best case that girl only gets sixty sixty, five percents, nats understand that third round sixty to sixty, five percent of snaps for running back and it really good offense is valuable but I think there's also ceiling concerns with tiger as well. Disappointed for me I you know round three specially round for round five. I'm taking wide receivers and not. Running backs typically that's just another reason from a construction standpoint for me to be out on tiger. But yeah, it certainly doesn't feel good to our read this quote and I think it did sink ADP of tug release a little bit for now maybe a bounces back some more casual getting as we are closer to September. Bad News. On Jalen Hurd Evan One of our favorite late round flyer picks I've been taking Jalen heard a lot around eighteen. You've had to pay a little more firmly as buzzes kind of crept up, maybe round fifteen or so. But the fear and we're recording this Monday two pm the fear right now, and it sounds like they're testing for ACL unusual when they're testing for ACL, network gets out usually it comes trees. Let's operate under the assumption of Jalen Hurd unfortunately missed the year with a major knee injury. Also, deebo Samuel is out not out they F- they think he's going to miss at least we wanna maybe some more games with his foot issue. I mean they're down Brandon youth, the rookie Kendrick born, and then like something like tren Taylor Dante Pettis Richard James any ideas on what you think San Francisco will do now that they're missing depot and Jalen for the first part of the season. You know I think it's just reinforcing that you want to be strong on George. Kit, you WANNA be strong on Brandon Euch in Brunei you could apparently been tearing up practices. praised. Brent. One thing to note about brand he comes from Arizona State Program that is run by Herm Edwards, you know eating Tonio Pierce. Coaching Staff Kevin My way is on their coach. They've got a bunch of former NFL players. On their coaching staff at Arizona and Kyle Shanahan said that Brandon I just came in immensely prepared. He's been crushing on the practice field we've been way higher. On Him than ADP for weeks and weeks and are probably going to have to move them up because now I know that his ADP is going to start creeping up in Trenton you know trying to catch us a so but I'm GonNa look at the ranks is this just happened a couple of hours ago Jalen or the news that? Jalen. Hurts. Injury was severe but I'm not to look at that right after we. Get done with this podcast. Again, reinforcing that Jimmy Garoppolo to George biddle is my singular favorite stack of the entire twenty twenty fantasy football season. If you look down the depth, chart, Kendrick born despite severe athletic limitations younger reinforced six eight coming out of college. He's really built to be a role player that's how he's been used, but he may have to become a little bit more than that..

David Archer previews the Atlanta Falcons

"The Atlanta Falcons will do so with a former Falcons quarterback. Now he is their longtime color analysts on the radio network for Atlanta. And that is David Archer. David Hope all is. Well. Thanks for doing this. When we look at the Falcons, they made a big offseason acquisition getting Todd Gurley We don't know where the health is of Todd Gurley. What do you expect at a Todd Gurley coming over from l. A to Atlanta for this upcoming season? Well, be honest with you. I think we're expecting a lot of early and mainly in the Red zone. If you look at Todd Gurley's numbers, even with with so called quote unquote down near Around 900 yards rushing, still had 12 touchdowns. All 12 of those touchdowns came in the red Zone, and I think that Atlanta if they could find a way to run the football down close Help three up the talented weapons that Ryan has on the perimeter. Now, listen, you have a little bit more of a potent attack a little bit more looking a little bit more like what? You looked like a 16 when Avante Freeman and Tevin Coleman. We're carrying the ball down there close and created that problem in the run game. Atlanta has not had that over the last couple of seasons. I think that's where they expect Todd Gurley to make his main hey is down there in the red Zone. With the way that you probably have to manage his reps as a running back the rest of the running back room. Is there something that jumps out to you? Yeah, I think it's a good group. Really Do I think that when you look at Brian, Ill in the way, Brian Gillis Kamani together that Hawkins drafted a couple of years ago, Brian Handsome solid moments a year ago. Quadri Allyson. Kid at Pittsburgh rookie from a year ago. Uh, kind of woke himself. A little bit of a roll is a short yardage guy. £225 Goal line Guy, four touchdowns. Hopefully, you know, Smith can come back. He was injured in the game a year ago. I believe against the Rams in which he was trying to pick up a Blitzer, which he shouldn't be here should be doing, but he is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield. And a good change of pace back at the back, So they get to three young guys that I think you could lean on. And like you said, Take some of that. Load off. Assad, Girl. Let's get to the next down. And when we do so, we take a look at Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. The two big names in that organization. Do you still believe that this team could be a play off team once again with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones? I do, but it's you know, obviously, it's about you know your supporting cast and you do some things on the other side of the ball, and I'm sure there's a question you've got to worry about the defense's side the football, But there there's a little area in the offensive line. The left guard has been a little bit leaky, right guard's been a little bit leaky because of some injuries and things that they could shore up that into your part of the offensive line. Ryan's Like most classic quarterbacks climb in the pocket. They got to be able to give him that opportunity. Do so if you get into your pressure and accurate from problems, one game will help in that regard, but Yeah. Julio Jones, 16 seconds, 1300 yard seasons. Matt Ryan, nine consecutive 4000 yard seasons. I don't see the one those guys backing off. When you talk about that offensive line to follow up on that I'm a big fan of Matt Hennessy. Being a temple grad, really smart football player puts in a lot of work. Is he going to make an immediate impact in your number one? Yeah, There's always a question that he's certainly in the mix to be the starting guard. There's no question about that. I think that there's ah lot excitement around when he brings the table and and obviously the heir apparent, Alex Mack, probably its center. So Alex back in a little bit longer to still have a good football any But I need to put some guys around him that Khun taken, it could be in there and we had German Brown and James Carpenter guys that could not stay on the field. There was some solid moments from those two big veteran players, but they did not stay on the field and consistency. In the interior specialist that left guard spotted Kennedy ultimately will probably win that job and be the starter that guard let's get to the next down. All right, David Archer. When they flip the switch here and go to the other side of the ball defensively, it was an up and down year for the defense, but it seemed like they did finish in a better spot than what they did earlier on in the season. You could probably say that for the entire team with the Atlanta Falcons this division. Is loaded with offensive talent. You know what the Saints are. Now you have Tom Brady and the division with Tampa Bay, and I'll be curious to see what Teddy Bridgewater does with the Panthers. What's your read on the Falcons defense entering 2020 Well, it's an uncertain situation obviously went on God. Dante Fowler, Dad's pressure off the edge contact. McKinley realized what they thought they had when they drafted him a couple of years and the number one spot picked up Charles Haley, who, ironically, was in the same draft. And raided a route the same attack McKinley are Charles Harris. I'm sorry. Charles. Charles Charles Haley. Right way. I'd like to have the guy that was rushing the pastor there for both the Cowboys in the 40 Niners. That would be great, but Harris. He does have some raw talent there. Can't he realize that I'm the Falcon Tutelage will have to wait and see Grady dear. It's an emerging star in the tackle position and Marlon Davidson, Vienna and an interesting ad, a guy that has the versatility to play inside. Maybe in past situations and also play the perimeter as a 34 defensive didn't run down situations. The answer at all Burn second round draft pick of the fact that they think they've upgraded their defensive line. It'll have to be upgraded because you get extremely young secondary. Probably gonna have a rookie a corner starting your nickels, a second year guy in your other corners of third year, guys, So there's a lot of young players on the perimeter need to get some pass rush speed up the thought process for the quarterback. Let's get to the final down. Alright. I'm surprised that Dan Quinn is Bacca's the head football coach for the Lancer Falcons. What does he have to do this year to keep his job and Is that seats the warm because, like I said, I was surprised that they brought him back for this year. It is warm. I think that it's fortunate they brought him back because of the current situation with the pandemic and the uncertainties, so some continuity certainly has played into Atlanta Falcons off season. I think they've had a solid offseason, much as you can, with the limitations. They're attached to this year, So I think that it was good in retrospect that, uh, Mr Black decided to keep Dan Quint on, but I think he's got there. They've got a bit pushed for a playoff spot. I think they've got to be. They can't come out of the box one in seven. It's got to be a team. It's in the hunt of the entire way. As you said, it's going to be outstanding division with outstanding quarterback play, but they have to be in the hunt to be a part of the postseason play. If they do that. And I think the fans will be a little bit of stab on the wound for the fans. But if you get out to a slow start, it would not surprise me. If if Mr Blank made some kind of decision mid season on coach Boy and I think, coach when is the right guy for the job Now it's put up or shut up. He scored a touchdown will go for two here Oscar. One more question This team was 11 5 We all know the deal they were in the Super Bowl blew the 28 23 lead. The next year, they did go 10 and six, the last two years. It's seven and nine. If you had to identify the biggest reason why this team has regressed, and I know they've had some injuries to but overall if it's not the health of the team, what's the biggest thing that you look at? Why this team wasn't able to recreate that magic from 2016 and 2017? I think their inconsistency ball on both sides of the football in conversion, down situations and in the red zone. I think Atlanta's done a great job of moving the ball from 20 to 20 But when they get in the red zone, they bogged down and settle for too many threes. And I think in turn the defense's side of the football. What about 22 23 scoring defense coming up 25 points a game. They've got to find a way to get more stops in the red zone. That's probably the answer that you could probably get from all teams struggled and not made the playoff teams, but I certainly think That that's identifiable with the Falcons over the last couple years, the inability down deep in the red Zone both on offensive defense, Julio Jones, he's Ah Hall of Fame player. We all know that one of the better wide receivers in the league He's only had one year of double digit touchdowns, going back to 2012 when he had 10 TUC maybe 10 touchdowns in his fortunes this year. Well, I think he's certainly capable of it. But you got an outstanding receiver on the other side of Calvin Ridley, who's realized his abilities down in the red Zone Pretty close. I think Aidan hearse is going to be a seamless transition from Austin Hooper tight end spot So there are a lot of weapons from that Ryan to get the football too. Don't forget Todd Gurley and how good he is at the back catching the football as well. So I I would say no, I think he's going to be 89 touchdowns. I don't think he goes double digits, but I think there's a lot of guys around him. They're going to score touchdowns. Look for guys somewhere between 13 14 guys catch touchdown passes issue. Say that we appreciate it. Thanks so much. You be well, my

OBJ: 'The blond is back' and new attitude, too

"Newton Noto Beckham Jr had their own red table talk early on Tuesday. No Jada Pinkett Noble Smith. But that doesn't mean that both of these two were not going to say something that got people's attention. They both used the word humble but coining the context of tired of being humble. Cam Newton said that about replacing Tom Brady, the elephant in the room with the doing the Patriots and Noto Beckham Jr soak office hat and said the blonde is back and said he is tired of being humble. He is tired of playing that game. I don't know if we're going to Jada Pinkett joining them at any time soon, But Cam knew no Dahlbeck. Um do you have there red table talk, and it got plenty of attention, Especially way they use the word humble and the way they wanted to use it being tied of being that way to satisfy others. When it comes to playing football. I don't know if you can hear my eyes rolling in the back of my head right now, But when I saw that first I'm not going to be nice anymore. I saw that I thought was that broke version of LeBron's thing with a shop like that's what I saw, if if anybody wants to do Parody of this, with Victor Cruz leading the conversation, and you've got Odell Beckham looking smug, and it's weird jacket he's wearing Todd Gurley looking like he doesn't know what's going on one side of the table in Cannes, sitting with a cigar in these in these glasses of wine all over the table in the decanter, I mean, It was well done. I'll give him that Odo back him and his production company put this thing together. It was very well. I will say it was great to hear them. Talk about black lives matter Movement and what Corona virus That's very honest things to say about Corona virus and kind of the fear that a lot of people have of playing the season. The athletes at the center of this They are the product. They're the ones who make owners millions and billions of dollars every year yet I think that we missed the mark. Sometimes these were not necessarily considering all the health and safety protocols. Ah, when it comes to them, But so that's the stuff that I actually could get down with. But when the word humble was thrown around, I felt like you know, I needed Kendrick Lamar to come in and just kind of like, walk that back a little bit, because when you talk about the blonde is back and this that and the other thing with Odell Beckham have we not been hearing some version of the same thing for the last 3 to 4 years, Freddie Even before he went to Cleveland. I mean, it's every single season is new Year new Me New Year new Me But silence the haters. Got a You know, everybody wants to be labeled. We want to label something in society because we don't know what it is. And I'm tired of being labeled. Oh, my goodness. I'm tired of hearing this is every single year Put up or shut up, bro. I can't handle it anymore. By the corner. Cronin, Finn Fitzsimmons of Freddie Coleman on Friday and Fitzsimmons and ESPN radio. I said it's for the longest time and every time he does or says something like this without a Beckham Jr It further further confirms my suspicions. He still wants to be in New York. He doesn't want to be in Cleveland. Yeah, he'll say all the right things about the organization. But if he had his way, he still be a New York giant playing in the biggest city in the world when it comes to New York because his personality fits more in New York than it does in Cleveland. He doesn't realize that if he just goes out there because to me, he has way too much talent. So have that kind of mouth promising and making those false promises would come without backup Jr. I'm with you. I don't want to hear about humility I don't want to hear about the blind is back in. All of the nonsense stopped talking about it Be about it because you had that kind of ability and talent. But I still wonder I don't want any more. He confirms it every time Courtney Every time he opens his mouth. It tells me each and every time That he still wants to be in the biggest city in the world. Whether the New York Giants or in New York jet, Cleveland does not fit the personality to me in the mind of Odo Beckham Jr so and you're putting that out there. To me. It seems like he's laying the groundwork that if eyeball out in Cleveland, I want to go somewhere else where I believe my personality is going to fit that city and clear as a great sports city. Put it back on. Gina's realized that if he bawls out in Cleveland and leads into the playoffs and end of a deep run in the play offs, he could go anywhere representing him in a Cleveland Browns, but because he doesn't leave his personality Is suited for Cleveland. He keeps putting stuff out there time and time again to let everybody know I'm a celebrity, and I'm too much of a celebrity for the city that I'm playing it now because I did not want to be traded away from the city where I started my NFL career in the first place, and it's like we've seen the story play out. I said again and again, I mean, think about some of the distractions and think about what happened this offseason with him handing out cash Tol issue players of the national championship and You know, slapping the police officer on the Mac side in Superdome, and you know all of these things. It's like he was quiet for a little bit. And there were some trade rumors before that. I mean, like it or not, there was talks behind the scenes about him trying to get out of Cleveland. I have Pete. You know, sources that I've spoken with people close the situation. I know that it's been debunked allegedly at this point, but at one point that was actually in the works being talked about. It didn't just come out of thin air, so I mean I understand where he's at right now in wanting to wipe the sleep this late, clean because, you know, by his standards, you know he didn't you know, he still was 1000 yard receiving season last year, but he wasn't where he wanted to be. I think that he had different expectations for what his first year Cleveland could have looked like. But you know, the blonde is back. Does that mean that the celebrity and all of the distractions come with it to be as you'll remember? You know that last season in New York in 2018 there were a lot of distractions. There was an interview with Little Wayne where he was talking about his quarterback and essentially throwing him under the bus that created a lot of distractions in the locker room. So I mean, is that coming with it? If you're talking about the blonde is back, because, sadly, we know that this is one of the most talented wide receivers to ever play the game. But beyond that, you know, the blonde has kind of been the demise for him.

NFC West: Who will unseat the 49ers?

"So glad to be joined by Candace Silva of the rams wire as we go around the NFC west try to figure out who's going to unseat the forty Niners if they can be unseeded at the top of the division cam covers the the rams the rams who apparently are the hot bat right now to win the Superbowl at thirty to one what the hell's going on their camp yeah apparently they were the most popular Super Bowl bet of the last I think there's some were the bachelor come in anywhere on the rams won the Superbowl which is surprising because they've done nothing in the past okay two months to really bolster their claim as a Super Bowl contender in it's been a rough offseason for them so they got a bounce back in to see them as a Super Bowl favorite or not people will favor but to see so many people jumping on the bandwagon for them to win the Superbowl surprising I mean obviously they were just in the Super Bowl now might about a decade ago by our current time frame standards but it was two seasons ago and they still have the same quarterback they still have the same head coach where has it gone wrong we know what happened last year it in fact but if if people are buying in why would you say don't hi this is biggest issue right now I was really surprised that they essentially ignored the the office of identity try to remake it or bring in much talent really on the opposite line this offseason they refinance or what works best it brought back Austin blight who could play guard and center I'm so really they're sticking with the same group that they had last year there's a lot of competition really the only position that sat on the opposite wanted at left tackle with what danger what work right but the other four spots where they're gonna be competitions with Bobby Evans and rob Stein at right tackle Austin Blake and Bryan Alexander in the guard position is kind of just a mishmash of players who are relatively unproven at the NFL level so I would say that's the biggest issue switching Todd Gurley out for can makers they hope is going to be an upgrade at least hopefully in the in the explosiveness department because we do the regular Todd Gurley last season and he kind of seems like he's past his prime with the old me injury in right usage so they hope that with the improved often combined with these guys developing the younger guys and then a a better run game they're going to hopefully get back to their roots from the twenty seventeen twenty seventeen to twenty eighteen season that also supplying plan doesn't seem like a very good one considering that they're in a division with the forty Niners who I don't think I'm being a Homer here by saying that they have a pretty darn good defense of line like that that might not be a good match up for them yeah that's one of the best defensive line principality and you're gonna have it you're gonna have such a us a big mismatch every time that these teams square off because the defense of life for forty third San Francisco so good you got Nick Bosa all the guys on the interior Erik Armstead so there's gonna be tough match ups all across the front when these teams square off twice a year and you're not gonna want to right now in blocking these guys or Bobby Evans are often blight it's it's gonna be a tough match up for all these guys what's M. brings us to the cornerback what what went down with Jared Goff I mean I don't know what it was it all just smoke and mirrors in that Super Bowl season was he figured out I mean there there's been plenty of arguments I've seen a lot of smart people say listen as soon as Matt Patricia showed how to basically not bite on the play action it was game over for the rams they still made the Super Bowl but last year was not great is there any realistic expectation around the rams that they can make it jump now with you know maybe acres and there is the full time running back yeah I I wouldn't say your golf was just smoke and mirrors in twenty eighteen I thought he was a legitimate MVP candidates for most that season and then they kind of have that by the crazy Monday Night Football game against the chiefs and ever since then he's just more grass than not been the same player it was it was he was really terrible on play action last season which was a surprise but again that goes back to the office of line you just didn't have time to to get to a second read he didn't have time to to turn his back to the defense on these armies clashing passes so that a big impact but he's a player who I know they gave them a hundred thirty four million dollars but at this point in his career he doesn't seem like someone who's going to really master the issues of the rest of the offense it's not can overcome terrible off in one place so for him in the rams to really bounce back it's going to take an improvement on the offensive line golf getting back to how he was playing in twenty eighteen and then that running game coming alive and that seems like a lot of that on because it's it's everything coming together as a cohesive unit but I mean with the talent that they do have they still look really good receivers with concocting Robert wood acres and Henderson at running back our promising and golf if he if he lives up to his contracting really pleased the way the FHS quarterback showed the ram should bounce back nicely I like Henderson he came out of Memphis right yep yep he he really was under utilized last year yeah they were kind of well I wouldn't say stubborn sticking with elderly but he just didn't get many opportunities but when he did when he did get some chances he showed his show computer production yeah if you could once against the forty Niners last season to worry bounced off a few tackles and I mean he he's a smaller guy he runs hard and he he he also I'm interested to see how they utilize them with Cammy Kerr's

Could Brandin Cooks be traded for fourth time in six-year career?

"Brandon cooks had a tweet that just said Freeman yes that was on Friday and when you read that there's two things that come to mind one is okay he's talking about the corona virus in Africa wants to just go back to living their normal life and not trapped inside their house order the sportsman and I says free may he's upset with the Los Angeles rams and he wants a trade out of LA you look at the contract the branding cooks he's under contract through the twenty twenty three season has a cap hit of sixteen sixteen seventeen and seventeen million dollars across the board the dead cap this year for Brandin cooks is twenty nine point eight million and then following that in the next three years thirteen eighteen and three million of the number is an approximation he's still twenty six years old and at one time was viewed as a very promising up and coming wide receiver and I still think you can have a good career you know you look at what he was able to do from early on in his saints career shoot the twenty eighteen season with the rams you go through the stats twenty fourteen fifty three receptions five hundred and fifty yards three touchdowns twenty fifteen eighty four receptions over eleven hundred yards nine touchdowns that had that monster monster twenty sixteen where he catches almost eighty football's goes for one thousand one hundred seventy three yards and then a touch it's really had to back to back killer seasons with eighty four you know the two months years in twenty fifteen twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen he gets dealt the patriots and he goes sixty five receptions just over a thousand yards seven touchdowns how to touch down early on against the Texans was a big moment he had I'm in the playoffs he got knocked out in the Superbowl Malcolm Jenkins sent the matter game and the patriots after one year that one can get a contract extension so they traded to the rams and they ended up getting a first round pick back again for something to get a first round pick back for him so he goes to the rams twenty eighteen eighty receptions twelve hundred yards five touchdowns good year and last year only forty two receptions five hundred eighty three yards and two touchdowns so this is that was an off year for Brandin cooks now he only played in fourteen games but you know still it was an off year so you start to wonder is Brandon cooks going to get traded because of just the situation the ram Charan it is got rid of Todd Gurley defensively they say they're already locked up Barron Donald you're gonna have to sign Jaylen Ramsey to a long term extension you would think you also have money tied up in a lot of money tied up clearly to Jared Goff I don't think it's a great quarterback but he's getting paid as if he's a great quarterback and you saw that offense who this past year yes the the rams were a different team but you look at their wide receiving options do you really need Brandin cooks that office when you have Cooper Kupp having a very good season last year catching almost a hundred footballs and going over eleven hundred yards yeah Robert woods last year not the thousand you know thousand yard season caught ninety footballs so can you survive without Brandin cooks and get something back to help your football team what what's first do this what you will get the contracts Robert woods and Cooper Kupp Robert woods is a free agent at the end of the twenty twenty one season so for the next two years you're a robber was that a good number base salary this upcoming year it's five million in twenty twenty one at seven point five million capita they point one and a cap of nine point one so that's a good number and then when you get to Cooper Kupp can you take a look at his contract situation with the with the rams that's a contract situation where Cooper Kupp let's see where his deal is that he's a free agent at the end of the season so he is on a two million dollars and change contract so if you are the branches anything you have Robert woods who's twenty seven right now maybe he gets it probably does get another contract with that team and then you have Cooper Kupp who's twenty six read the codes are still very young yeah he's twenty six as well what do you do if you're gonna pay if you intend to pay Cup and also woods are you gonna put a lot of big money with three wide receivers so I think there's a good chance the Brandin cooks does get traded or the ram say you know what we believe are more like the football team two years ago not the team last year so we're gonna keep what we have and we're going to run it back brandy cooks for someone who's so talented and someone that has done a very nice job in his career so far what we've seen him go from playing with drew Brees and Sean Payton then go flying with Brady and Bella Jack and now playing with golf and the bay well those are not the key pad stops you get to all BAME coaches and to all fame quarterbacks golf one of seeing what he's going to be able to do in Sean McVay's is greatly respected around the league so the branding cooks tweet Hey C. Cooper cops jump on it and and clarify he's talking about the quarantine hi it's it's just amazing and it never surprised anymore on social media where if that were his intentions you never know but if those are his intentions how people now I think he could be traded but when you think about it with what they may need to do in the future or Cooper Kupp and Robert woods at the Brandon cooks experiment in the in the rams you know you could say could be short lived with your canoeing on that was really short lived he could be on the move once

Falcons could field an offense with 11 first-round draft picks

"So we had a truck a couple of signings by the Atlanta Falcons over the weekend right to pick up tight end Hayden Hurst from the Baltimore Ravens and they also acquired look Kwan Treadwell a former number one pick for the Minnesota Vikings yeah as the Atlanta falcons roster currently stands right now on offense alone just on offense they have a Levin former first round picks all of these former first round picks quarterback Matt Ryan first round pick Todd Gurley who sign when he was released first round pick Julio Jones first round pick Calvin Ridley first round pick the Quantrill first round pick Hayden Hurst first round pick left tackle Jake Matthews first round pick left guard James carpenter first round pick center Alex Mack former first round pick Chris Lindstrom the right guard former first round pick and right tackle Caleb McGary also that he first started his first round eleven is incredible let them all eleven of them a former first round pick I mean there's no way that's ever happened before right I can't believe that what ever but here's the real question if you had to redraft everyone of these players how many would be former first rounder this okay because I think this is fair Lidstrom McGarry and carpenter I've always been really what one or two years no it's been really since two thousand eleven okay yeah so let's remind me Gerry I think you were taken off or taken them out yeah okay so all of the other nine how many would be redrafted as a first round what's what's going on it's not right absolutely no question that runs for Todd Gurley no yeah I I would say no I would sit well I would say no one quite frankly his a conversation about the value of the position in general could also affect the new with him that was the thing coming out of college yes I look he has fifty eight rushing touchdowns over his first whatever seasons and all the other ones are either in the hall of Famer going let me just say six are we saying first rounder today or go back to the beginning again it would re drawing back to the beginning again because I'm currently the way Todd Gurley came out I mean would you not still take him in the first one that's the question now right are you going to pay for that kind of production from a running back anymore we saw Christian McCaffrey Leonard for net like there's been plenty examples of even a legal or not re signing a big second contract drafting a great one of the first round can still benefit you a lot okay I'm just trying to get to it you know is that what they've done in their right career does that mean where are the first roll worthy to me the girly thing is to your point he had a knee injury coming out of college and right when they signed with the red sign that long term deal with they're trying they got out of now then he was going to be chronic so to me the top group member he was the first one that airports reset the market for running backs and it turned out no he just re establish the old line of thinking but that first three years of production would you that would you spend a first round pick on that because we saw that rand's office how much in common now it always goes like this with the running game but in combination with an offense of line that did really well what you brought into what worth over would you pay for that as the foundation of your off I'm beginning to go the Melkite around here that I'm not sure running back as well because Melvin Gordon was in that same draft and Melvin Gordon is on his team I got an extreme I think that's the biggest conversation we could take out of this is the running back position record number mellow one point eighty never take a running back in the first Rana I wonder for we're slowly but surely going back to it I mean there was a contract a couple years ago with the first running back off the board was late second round out of Tennessee and I think we're going back to that after a bevy running backs being taken so we were definitely in on Matt Ryan yes we're out on Todd Gurley a legit is amazing looking back at Todd Gurley's draft class there's not a lot of got like if you're talking about reworking the top ten Todd Gurley might be the most wealthy in that group maybe outside of Amari Cooper yeah we can we can have that discussion later because that's in it read graphic I think is always fast and you have to wait a certain amount of time Julio Jones know quite well right Calvin Ridley first round too early again I think it's too early last year what he had sixty three receptions okay just under nine hundred okay seven touchdowns I would mean he also can't account for how bad that team ask me yes or no right now I'd say yes but I still think it might be too early Hayden Hurst no not because look they they took marketers later in the draft in the third round he clearly became the tight end of Baltimore which made Hayden Hurst by the way has taken in the first row before Lamar Jackson R. Jackson for Lamar starting you know tight on that team right now marketers you said right Hayden Hurst also dealt with some injuries and stuff there too that's okay in perfect sample size and when you have a guy come on like marquetry who could predict that the way that offense ended up of what he was the Mackey award winner a what he was coming home with one truck will no no Jake Matthews yes I think so I think so I think so do not I meet yeah yeah I mean yes he's been there he's been there is a second contract I also wrote a like doesn't miss a lot of games he's he's dependable yeah I think that's what it our printer are probably not I mean he's he's been a guy that's been in the league for nine years now dependable guy but we're talking about first round right you know I mean when you're twenty four we'll talk about for sure we're talking about top ten picks like a lot yeah yeah yeah I I'd probably lean toward no on that as well yeah yeah Alex Mack yeah absolutely yeah yeah and then the other than what we remember and I think Lidstrom would be headed in that direction yeah kill the guy who's more reach last year get killed the one I have questions about obviously we know the health concerns that existed before the draft earning a hard issue that he had had to deal with early in this time oxygen so there's a lot to hash out with those two but just I mean blows off the page when you just read that number the every single hundred dinners with that crew yeah what eleven Ryan still got its still on that ride to reach for the paycheck first but everyone else has to at least go for their wallets and act like there's also a common I do with you know with my dad so you got rid you got Ridley help you got got this R. Ridley Hearst links from a Gerry all still on their rookie deals you know wrecked yeah everybody else is is all for them yeah if I'm looking at yes correct so yeah they're all fascinating eleven a former first rounders on

The Running Back's Struggle

ESPN Daily

The Running Back's Struggle

"Josh last time we had ESPN. It was to talk about fullbacks today. We're talking about running backs in our way through the backfield man just like Aaron Donald Josh firms. Meyer writes about football for five thirty eight Josh late last week. The Rams announced in a shocking move that they were releasing running back. Todd Gurley. This was a remarkable turn of events Given that girlie one offensive player of the year in twenty seven teen thoroughly. He was discussed by some people as an MVP candidate in two thousand eighteen on route to the Super Bowl led the league in rushing touchdowns that year. The ten the five untouched. To the end zone touchdown todd Gurley and on top of that. He's only twenty five years old. What happened my goodness twenty five year? Old running backs are already aging out. The first thing that happened to him was he has arthritic me. So at the end of the two thousand eighteen season he had to be replaced and spelled by Anderson Mentally played a little bit in the Super Bowl but he was just entirely ineffective. Fortunately that ineffectiveness carried over into the twenty nine thousand nine season and inbetween. He was given an extension that made him one of the highest. Pay running backs in the league. So this season couple that knee with his expense the caps situation in a loss Angeles and he just became a casualty and I think he is kind of an exemplar for everything. That's going on with running backs in the NFL. It's this idea of short and careers injury proneness and loss of effectiveness and therefore being cut or getting lower pay on the day that he was released. Espn stats and Info. Put out an number that I found fascinating in two thousand fifteen year. That Gurley was drafted. Twenty two backs were drafted. Not a single one of them. Josh is still on the team that selected them. What do you make of that goes to this idea of running backs? Having really short shelf life season for running back usually occur in one of their first two seasons at least in terms of productivity in terms of touches. You wear them down so quickly in this league. Though it's one of the toughest position on on the body and so I think the League as we've seen so far this year they still are kind of have a predilection overpay for the very good running backs are the ones that just had a good season but on by and large I think across the league. You're seeing people being really risk averse and moving on from running backs after a couple of seasons. When did you notice that that some teams not all and we'll get to some teams that have continued to pay running backs winded some teams for start to realize that they had been overvaluing the position and wanted to invest elsewhere. It's hard to trace it back specifically to a particular team but I know that People in twitter sphere and analytics the NFL analytics of talked about the replace ability of the running back position for quite a few years. The Philadelphia Eagles were one of the first on board to kind of spend money at the position but spread that money out over multiple players to kind of make the injury risks inherent in the position kind of spread across multiple sets of legs. The Baltimore Ravens are also one of the ones that the forefront of really just paying the absolute minimum that they have to at that position and actually getting pretty good production out of you mentioned that the analytics community was sort of early on this trend. What did they find? What did the data tell us about running backs really two things? Were most important about running the football. The results of run plays are primarily determined by run walking and defenders in the box. The defense and not who's carrying the ball because of that the finding is the inferences. They're running backs are interchangeable and investing a lot of resources whether it's the draft or whether it's free agency just doesn't make a lot of sense is also can be pinned on the changing nature of football itself. By and large. The data tells us that passing more passing. Early is more efficient right absolutely absolutely. I mean it's not even close in terms of the average value of a planet passing versus running on early downs. Then you still have to get into this idea. Of How much does it matter to the mentality of the team? How much does it matter to keep the defense on their toes? How much do you have to do to keep them honest? And so there's no question about how much teams should passing as a percentage of plays but is probably a case. They should be passing more than now. So are there any situations in which running the football is more advantageous absolutely? I absolutely you need to be able to run well at the goal line on Short yardage. If you have a running quarterback like Baltimore had last season definitely scrambling in design runs for quarterback are extremely efficient. Jackson will keep it on the read option expense at the thirty Lamar Jackson. Ted Pa Touch Lavar captain with the spin. This print Emma score. We saw what happened with Baltimore last year. They say hadn't run into that. Tennessee buds buzzsaw in the playoffs. They probably would have made it to the superbowl in my opinion. So there's definitely something to be said for the analytics and say stop running entirely and if you are going to do it do it with deception. Right off of play action. Get the other team guessing. About what your actual formation means and so they lose half a step in responding to what you're doing those are the kind of the things analytics pushes for not not whether or not you should be one hundred percent run or a hundred percent. You mentioned that Tennessee buzzsaw that beat the Baltimore. Ravens upset them. I think a lot of people point to that team to Derrick Henry and say see having a unique generational running back does matter. Look they upset. You Know New England in Baltimore. What would you say to that? I mean he got a twelve point. Five million franchise tag out of that performance. The back end of that year so I understand their point. They're looking at what just happened. They're looking at how he's being rewarded. No saying obviously matters but they beat another rushing team it the problem that I think the face the Ravens and we saw it with Kansas City. And how they didn't share. This same problem was that if you're built around the run whether it's by the quarterback or running it up the middle an wide zone like ravens did last season if you fall behind against a team that is also a ground and pound team in trying to control the clock and control the pace and you put yourself in a position where you have to come back. And you're not used to doing it or you don't have a quarterback quarterback that perhaps his is known for that type of play. You get what happened in in in Baltimore that night Jackson under pressure always lose ball stemming interception Jedi for the titans come up with another turnover hennessy. Titans are shocking the ravens whereas with the city chiefs they fell behind early three straight times but ended up winning the Super Bowl because they have a pass attack higher variants. You could make up ground easier with the passing game that you can with the run. When everything's working great rushing is the first thing you should try. And if you're good at it you should do it as long as you can but when it fails it fails pretty spectacularly and you need to be able to pass and in fact at the NFL level we ever parody is so prevalent that you really should just start out passing at that point because everyone's trying to run and everyone's trying to stop the run so the chiefs are sort of the analytics darling in this scenario because you know they passed their way to the Super Bowl. Josh they also have Patrick Mahomes right. So if you're a team with an average quarterback do you still think it's better to take a pass first approach in every NFL GAME? Even with a mediocre quarterback we find that they are better and teams are better and more efficient passing the ball and in sometimes. It's even more apparent when you have kind of an average or slightly above average quarterback because the defense and the defensive coordinator is almost sure you're going to not rely on them right. They're gonNA say well he's kind of crap you know. They're probably going to run out us all day long. And try and be safe with the ball so to the extent that you can put a mediocre quarterback in good positions like. Perhaps Tennessee did last year. Then you can take quarterback that had been floundering for years like Ryan Tannehill in. Turn him in to one of the best quarterbacks in the league the number one running back by the end of the season a guy that some people thought could have been the super bowl. Mvp was undrafted Damian Williams who is set to make just over a couple million dollars next year. How much does finance or the market factor in to know what we think about running backs today? I think you know if you're a casual fan. And you see everyone else. Basically on the team. Except for the punter and kicker getting more than on average than these running backs. I think it's beginning to percolate that. They're probably not the most important piece on the offense anymore. Things about analytics. Is that unlike baseball? Where like things got more boring? When analytics became involved when analytics can evolved in Football. Become more exciting. We want more passing. We want to go for it on fourth down. We want to know more so I one of the good things about all of this is that you see more aggressive more exciting football when it's played in the way that evidence seems to suggest it should

"Banning them people are trying to get down there mark down. It gives you. It's GonNa keep ricky busy for the show. I'm like just getting rid of people trying to log into our stream. Oh I can see why because it's got the hideous job editing cropping I should say crappy in the photo there. It has very easy to type address to the stream of twenty twenty twenty to thirty people in Ireland. Trying to get into this one guy and he likes heard smirking because he could see it and I was like. I'm trying to ban people tomorrow mark. I didn't know that would be the effect there. You'RE GONNA need to update your NGO a security online training courses at NFL media. That's very I and the only one I assume that did that. Ngo Course the two days ago and it was it was pertinent. Yeah Yeah that's fair into NFL network. Tomorrow I am very curious of what is the scene is going to be like there. I feel like like anything could like Paul Tagliabue. Just being in a corner office tags. Respect the hell tags. I couldn't remember his name last week but I respect the guy I tell you that all right so this is our where we I think. We're reaching a record. We've tied in all time around the NFL podcast record. This is our fifth podcast in as many days and we are going to close out the week strong and tomorrow we are going to set an eighteen record six straight shows and we're doing it because it is the new league year and even though things aren't popping off and they really haven't been since the Tom Brady News. News continues to kind of trickle in. And we're going to keep you up to date on everything that's going on in the NFL. Give you a little bit of a analysis. Get touch mirth figure out. What's going on behind the scenes with Cecil because I still think we don't have the whole story there with his living situation. I mean why isn't Simone at that house? Now how come. She hasn't been granted status. We really haven't had that much to do in the last three or four days have we. I think this is more about where the show occurs. And there's no reason to be here all day today. Which is why I was home and she were here. Where would my nine and seven year old so I I there are? There is a logical reason why she's not here with me. At the moment is on is the residents larger than your home. No the residents reminds me of the first department. I lived in When I moved to Hollywood the first time was here for seventy five days in worked at Hamburger hamlet in Hollywood and what I rented was a eight foot by eight foot room. That didn't have a big enough space for a bed. That's essentially this. I mean I looked for a space. That probably isn't applicable to be on AIRBNB and bang the founder and not to make light of it at all. Obviously because people are dying of course not well. I'm moving on from your situation People Are Dying of course from this Corona virus. But I guess you know Shawn Payne testing positive mark. We just recently came in direct contact with the man at the scouting combine Do you have any concerns there? You touch yet. I saw you touch him. Yeah we talked about this on a on one of those combine shows where I believe the move was and I include the non heated to obviously we were in a in a bar but I you know he was a bunch of rose everywhere and I like had to create like an alleyway for him to get through and I basically put my hand on his shoulder and kind of tried to sweep out the flotsam around us so he can have a walking path. But you're right. In the process there was contact in close proximity. And if I ever were to catch the corona virus from Sean Payton. I think it's kind of like coolest way not the coolest way but it would be a notable way to catch it. I can think of some better ways but that would be. That'd be top five. I did just look it up in my phone. Because I did transcribe it as it happened in real time you said. Let's make some way for my man. And then according to my notes you clasped his shoulder and then. Peyton looked up stunned and made eye contact with me thinking that I knew him and that you knew him but nobody knew anybody and Dan that was on twelve twelve seconds before I walked up to a random girl sitting at a table and took a giant swig of wine and a glass. So if anything I paid it forward if I if if if I've caught anything so has someone else. That's fair all right. So let's get into it Sean. Payton test positive probably won't be the last. Nfl figure that we hear about that. It's popping up all the major sports But let's hope it doesn't Isn't a news item? Comes up too often. Let's get into the big news of Thursday. Which is the Los Angeles? Rams are maybe not a complete rebuild but a complete reorganization organization of what they are doing. What their operations is about and a huge domino fell this afternoon. When the rams released Todd Gurley with the post June first designation. You will remember that. He signed a four year. Sixty million dollar extension is how it was described back in July of two thousand eighteen. Not even to two years ago But later that season he was the dominant player and then his knees started aching. It was an issue through the playoffs and to the super bowl where he barely played and then last year. Despite scoring fourteen touchdowns for the rams was on a workload did not carry the ball nearly as much had career lows and touches and yards and didn't have the same explosion and the rams west a team in salary cap. Hell decide they gotta move on from girly. Even if it's GonNa be you know a bad look organizationally and it's going to cost them financially. Yeah I think we saw some improvement toward the end of the year and his agility but it wasn't enough and especially from guy where like you said they reduced his workload and still couldn't have that same explosiveness or regain that same explosiveness. He did in his all pro years. I immediately thought well. Ironically this may open up a spot for Melvin Gordon to go across town and find a starting job in free agency at a much less amount than he wanted in the first place but this is an opening now for him and I saw that Adam. Schefter reported that before girly was released. The dolphins and Falcons were two teams interested in him. I don't know why you would invest a lot in todd. Gurley at this point I guess interest is one thing why not take maybe take a shot on him the fact that the Rams who love what Todd Gurley mental the organization so much that they gave him this contract two years before they needed to. I mean he would have just been finishing his rookie contract. This year says what they felt about him and they are not cutting him because of finances. I mean they're saving a little bit of money once you get past June for design their rookie class in terms of the CAP. But they're eating tons of dead money. They're just saying Todd. Gurley can't help us win. That he is a net negative. That is like not worth having around as someone we would give the ball to like. He's not he's just not good. Yeah it's like. I think they're scouting report on him. Should be taken into account by all these people that WANNA match todd. Gurley with the Bucks and Team B or C. You're right the falcons were mentioned and they have a need but I. I wanted to get a really good close. Look Todd Gurley. Before I paid him a cent and I don't you can't do that right now. So he he. His is probably hurt by teams wanting to take a pretty thorough medical check on him. And I'm just you know the rams who also like Clay Matthews go which is not as big of a surprise but you hear the Brandin cooks is out there as trade bait and the teams with him similar situation medical wise very concerned about the concussion situation with Brandin cooks and was noted on the NFL network. Well the rams were fine because they love him so much. Well it's like. Actually he sounds kind of untradable at the moment also in so it just to me. It's Kinda crazy and we say this all the time about teams that get into a super bowl window and then two years later. They're they're on a totally different continent. But the rams of today ernest shocking place. If you looked at where they were two years ago. It's just it's it's pretty wild because they were the epicenter and talk of the NFL and they are far from it right now. And you see how it works in the League team entering last year and certainly the year before that they're super bowl season where they were so aggressive in their free agent spending and you just wonder like none of us cardiologist. But it just felt like the bill's going to come do eventually and they were going to end up being in a tough spot and that turned out to be Twenty twenty and they have a ton of work to do to kind of fix their cap and at the same time. It is a complete world of Mystery for them going forward. Here is just a brief rundown of who they've lost now in this offseason girly Dante Fowler. Michael Brokers Cory Littleton Clay Matthews Nickell. Robey Coleman Eric Weddell Wade Phillips has gone. Brandin cooks trying to offload. That's a guy is a really talented playmaker In his twenties but he cannot stay on the field anymore unfortunately because these head injuries and you imagine his market is very low as well at this point so the rams are in a very tricky spot. The window again closes so quickly and they are just the latest example of that. It's it's early yet in the offseason. But I can definitely envision a scenario where we're picking them to finish last in that division with the improvement to cardinals are making and the forty niners hawks where playoff teams last year so it would not surprise me if we end up picking them to come in last tests for Sean mcvay as he is. He's anywhere as good as we were making him out to be two years ago. They should be competitive. I mean they were nine and seventeen. They have lost a lot but they still have Goff Ramsey Woods Haven Stein worth cooper Cobb John Johnson Jared Goff. I know it's not nearly the same team but if you're a really good coaching staff and good for an office which we've given them credit for..

"Us now obviously the rams are looming out there so the Seahawks this center COS is not sold out for the for the forty Niners I do think the rams are making some sort you know in baseball is like you get hot in October you're good in the rams I think I'm not is a mother worry about okay what they're playing really good right now so you know I I called a game last week force would want all the way up in Seattle hand yeah I think that the maintainers listen I don't know if you want to pitch count talk about Todd Gurley year auto shop but they said it wasn't but it didn't make any sense of the word on the pitch count the why you didn't running late so that makes sense but now the backstretch of the season here's a mortgage council he is running the ball better and his defense since they got general Randy and clay Matthews who's been helping outside of that Reagan game that they had because recently done that to multiple sequences in the National Football League that are that place this year it may look very average operator that they've already given up quite nicely to Gary so they're they're they're marching in the right direction I think your golf he needs a running game your golf is not the quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers that can to win with his arm you need running game as a quarterback yet as that one again goes you see what they do they run that stretch place the rebel stretch place there on the stretch quite that they're on the boot also then they run the old state speech speech they take speeds we can then they had it all and then they run the boot off of it that's what they do he's at his best when they're doing that when that is exceeding four there are the others also unit golf is playing really good football I know we had two interceptions last week but the first service was not his fault her lover would have to run through that route he he stop route often your call the store that I was one of the many stopped at the D. B. got to pick six so that I I put that on the on the other that you know he played well in the running game was going so they're starting at peak only also decide even though the defense of the last five or six weeks I've been playing really like double

"There's no thank God hitting balls Outta here. Titus the the Tampa with the Houston Astros raise beat the as last night the American League Wildcard Game Oakland's at a tough time in winner. Take all games going back to ninety eight when the moneyball era started the as are now over nine in those games losing streak. It's time for the longest active streak amongst I anybody baseball football basketball hockey the lines of lost nine consecutive playoff games dating back to the ninety one season and so there's your tie okay we go back to the NFL in a very interesting storyline. Keep an eye on Sunday Khalil Mack and the bears taking on Max former team the raiders in London this week. Mac was asked if he was feeling any vindictiveness about facing his former team. You WanNa make this just another game but you have to repress feelings of vindictiveness and getting back at the raiders as for treating you the way you did or do you feel like that's the whole point man You can't play this game with too much emotion man. Ultimately I try to stay focused on on the task. Ed Feed off that canoe because I feel you. A little bit demanded suppressive denies this and you could say prison the emotional side of it but the other side is go out and make them pay for all right. WE'LL MAC APP success getting to his former teammate Derek Carr. The raiders should actually put up a good fight. They sustained sixty exte- three percent of their blacks were at least two and a half seconds as the fifth best in the league three of the four opponents. The bears have faced. This season all ranked in the bottom four of that stat so that number is is what it is but let's talk about this. I want to quickly on Khalil Mack here because I made the comment in a meeting this morning and people sort of took to it did Jon Gruden sort of Trade Championship to the bears. The bears a championship caliber football team because Khalil Mack is on their defense. They have a championship caliber defense off off their superbowl champion. Super Bowl teams that because of the era in which we play because we've seen Tampa do it without a great offensive seen the ravens do it without a great offense. Can you still do it that awake because I don't believe it Mitch Trubisky. That's why their defense is spectacular but in this era of professional football quarterback play is paramount. I just I don't I'm not a big believer. Mitch trubisky right now you agree yeah. I was saying that all those things were coming to my mind because what better with Chase Daniels goes like this defense is fantastic and the biggest fear that I have for the bears as they may end up wasting one of the great defenses that we're going to see here over the next ten fifteen years ears but they can get to the quarterback. They can run the football. They have the weapons they get everything they need but David stepped up efficient quarterback play Chase Daniel's gave him some of that but to go back to Khalil back the guys the best player in the game right now he plays the Ryan as well as anybody out there and you can get after the passer and when you're playing your former team anybody can tell you he's GonNa be turned all the way up. This'll be a great game and I love that locker room session. We're talking about repressing feelings in suppressing emotions. I didn't realize it was going to be like a therapy session there in the bears locker room that reporters reporters could ask probing questions but the truth of the matter is and I don't know if he was kidding or not when he said it but Gruden I remember when he was asked about Antonio Brown and the comparison Khalil Mack. You say well at least I got to meet Antonio Brown. They never met each other Jon. Gruden repeatedly reached out to Khalil Mack. He never responded to one of his phone calls. They'll finally get the chance to talk this week. In London a year later and of course the raiders are playing that game without von birthday and we'll talk about that circumstance here. You're a little bit. The raiders are off to a decent start in the bears will see as they go over there and see if their defense can carry them now. Let's stay in the division because the Minnesota Vikings routine with a lot going on but start quickly with the rumors swirling about Stefan digs in the past week especially after he missed practice yesterday for non injury related reasons shaft chaffee what is going on with digs in particular Minnesota but first of all this is kind of taken on a life of its own and I think it's taken on a life of its own because of some of his social media media posts and we're in danger where people love trades and speculation but right now the vikings aren't considering tradings fund eggs. I don't know how this starts and Word Starts Church clearly. There's something bothering to findings that is what this story is. Most notable and we don't know at this point in time what he's upset about. What's what's bothering him but a year ago he just five year lucrative extension with the Minnesota Vikings. It's hard to imagine on team that doesn't throw the ball that much and wants to lean on on winning games by running the football player even if you WANNA trade. I don't see that happening now part of it but there is another side wants to say if you have. Adam feeling you have steph digs and you're investing money in that part of it. Does that make sense if you have a coach wants to run the ball in play. The soda team over lives paying Kirk cousins all that money how much they've invested then there's wideouts the push the ball down the field and they realize last year that really didn't work out well for Mike Zimmer. They're they're going to pound the rock defensive coach Dalvin Cook. I I know they're saying they're not gonNA trade him. They said the same thing about Percy Arben. I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded before the deadline to a team like New England someone who needs a wide receiver because if they they get blown away I think they'll move. Look to that point. You've got kirk cousins this week. Apologizing publicly whatever exactly that was to Adam feeling for not getting him the ball when he should would have stefan digs seeming to be disgruntled with his role so maybe these are sort of square pegs in round holes in Minnesota. If you look at it that way first first of all I got to say that I feel bad because I picked the Minnesota Vikings to win the NFC north and right now. I mean it could happen doesn't happen. I mean we live in a week to week league. What Kirk cousins gotta gotTa get it going. I mean listen. They played good defense. Dabbing Cook to me is is a star. I loved Alvin goes. They got all the requisite pieces on on the outside but the quarterback hasn't come through. I mean when was the last time that kirk cousins had a signature to win. You get paid all this money. You gotta be able to come through at some point and we just had seen him from perk cousins well. That's one of the things that we have now in Minnesota. So it is a lot of criticism of kirk cousins. He was asked about that yesterday and I thought this was a very interesting response. I'm pretty naive to ignorance says bliss and so the only time aware of it is when I have you know friends or family texts me and you know the text they send me. You would think somebody died. Hey Man I'm thinking of you. You know and it's like boy must not be good out there. You know if that's what they're texting me but I honestly I don't see it and so I think that helps you know. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Listen you can just put your head down and go to work Damian. What did you believe that I'm calling BS. I really am I think you I'm feeling you feel the PRUSSIAN. You know you're not when you're not playing well and you hear the whispers from people whether it's in the building outside the building so when Kirk cousins says that Oh just basically ignored and all those type of things play as play as see all the all these type of things you can ignore it but that means you you still hear it. This is the same guy when he was on his way out of Washington walked into the camera and said you like that after a good game but his his GM called mm-hmm Kurt Kurt Kurt by different names so Martin Greenberg. What are your thoughts. I do think that this guy here's these things woody Allen Schefter. Everybody here's the stuff that's just. The reality is if you can say he ignores it but that just means he's trying not to listen to it and believe me. Kirk cousins is one of the nicest guys in the world world but he is. This does impact you over the course of a season. He doesn't need us need to hear that to feel any more pressure than once you get eighty six million guaranteed that is the one thing that makes his place so scrutinized because of all the guaranteed money that he got he's supposed to be performing up to a certain level and so far he hasn't don that in this particular offense and so people can say whatever they want. I think that self-inflicted pressure from a guy like Kim just as heavy as anything else he would take you to step further all four of us to some degree. Live our lives in the public eye now. I'm not starting quarterback of an NFL team so he gets a lot more attention than I do but all of us know what it is like to have criticism awesome our names is attached to something and to criticize publicly and I would just say this. I actually I don't know if I believe what he's saying but I endorse what he saying because of your kirk cousins if you're a person who was in the public eye and is being criticized. There's nothing better you can put your head down. Get back to work and succeed the only way to shut those people up you. You can't win that fight on social media. You can't win that fight by calling into talk shows you could win that fight by winning games so if he is indeed just ignoring it and he is the rice. He's smart enough to do that right now again. He's not immune to it but he's not soaking in that all day long so whether believe it or not. I actually whatever it's worth if you're listening curtain. Obviously you're not endorse the way you're going about it. All right as we continue on get up. We are four games games into the Kylo Murray Cliff Kingsbury experiments in Arizona. How's it working so far. We'll we'll talk about that and we're a quarter of the way through the season and Patrick Hatrick Mahomes is on pace to break a ridiculous record. The mind boggling number that is within reach will he get there that answer and more on the way to get up on on. ESPN search for my money is as the most watchable player in sports right now. It's buyers cell. Is he going to put up numbers. No one's ever seen before he's throwing for over fifteen hundred yards already this year on pace to go over at six thousand bobby buying or selling Patrick mahomes six thousand passing yards and going to sell this as good as PAPPA. Holmes is teams can devise schemes to slow down a quarterback. That's three hundred seventy five yards a game any rita's to coach to expect out of his quarterback each and every week. I've got to sell the screen. I hope that you're along but we'll see what happens. Shefty I've won for you as well and this one is going to be on Christian McCaffrey the all time record for yards from scrimmage two thousand five hundred nine set by Chris Johnson Johnson buying or selling McCaffrey breaks that this year he's patient enough for two thousand five hundred sixteen correct so I'm going to buy it right now because he is in the game at all times as long as he stays healthy for the full year..

"NFL defensive backdraft by the bills in the second around an NFL scouts built up the panthers and Seahawk Rosters here here to defend todd Gurley looks like he's got no. He got no juice to me. I think they're in trouble tomorrow. You still you so you think they won three in a row against the seahawks. I think they're okay. I think they understand. It looks like he's shot fighter. I don't know if he has enough opportunities to see if he he has it. I think here's the thing that runs wrong with the rams when the rams become a team that has driven by Thai girl not by Jared Goff. They kind of get wayward their team. That needs to run through Todd Gurley Tiger leaves their best offensive player. He's the most dynamic most explosive offensive player when he gets the ball. It changed the way the defenses defend the rest of the often as a former scout is he the same guy I would say he is the same I think what has happened is look everyone talks talks about what happened in the playoffs they talk about the New Orleans game and the fact that Cj Anderson came in and had some success but remember in the Dallas Game Todd Gurley also ran for one hundred yards like one hundred year game against the Dallas cowboys in the playoffs in the superbowl. If given more opportunities he was a guy that was getting in rhythm and being table to make plays Todd Gurley has to get the ball twenty to twenty five times a game be it runs be a combination of runs and passes. He has to have it enough to affect the game when you give it to him. Ten Times fifteen times is not enough for him to have an impact on the way the defense is play and also when you talk to people that play against the rams what teams are doing now is. They're banking on look. We can lock up the running game early a make the rams through off traditional dropback passes Jerry different passer. When you don't have the threat of the running game he changes the office changes is not as voting? It's not as explosive by the way I've got. I think the most fascinating game there's about six. I can't wait to watch Monday night. Football Cleveland goes to San Francisco Now San Francisco's off a bye and Kyle Shanahan hands very clever that could be but Cleveland's defense. I think can play with a lot of teams in league but in the first three games I did feel like Cleveland was trying and to get oh. BJ involved last week Chubb Landry Baker and it's the best Cleveland's looked in. I thought even last year now my question is Monday auto. BJ's worst receiving yards game ever to catches. Will they go back to appease. He's Oh Bj because I think it's a real thing people say I'm just exaggerating. I do think they have to make sure Oh. BJ's at least satisfied with his opportunities I mean this is the nature two position your Adam feeling come out and talk about cousins like when you play wide receiver man it is like a track meet if you don't touch just running up and down the funeral and you're not involved in so good coaches have some somebody or they have a place on their play ah sheet to remind them to make sure that they keep those guys involve. You have to get him. A hitch route a slant something that keeps them active because in the fourth quarter if you need him they feel like they reported a game plan. You can't ignore for three quarters. Did it. A fourth quarter say they make a play. It doesn't work like that but to your point about the the browns Freddie Kitchens has figured out what makes them go and what makes them go is. What made them go last year? Everyone went crazy about baker their offices. This is at their best when they run through Nick Chuck Niche up the running game sets up everything else when they're able to run the ball it allows Baker Mayfield to throw off play action action in enables them to be able to get the ball to the receivers of some of these subtle play fakes quick slants things behind linebackers creeping up to defend the run as long as Freddie Freddie Kitchens keeps the main thing the main thing which is the running game pounded control the clock and then throw complimentary passes the browns offense will be fine I was saying. NFL ratings are up at every network despite eleven backups playing this week and I think you could say it's just gambling. Maybe it it is but I think what is happening is. It's a very good movement in the NFL Baltimore went from boring FLACCO to uneven but exciting Lamar or Jackson Texans went from Boring Brock osweiler to dynamic new Shawn Watson Kansas City productive but sort of tired Alex Smith to Patrick Metric Mahomes ally to Daniel Jones we are seeing these are flawed quarterback fewer grade most or uneven but as a television consumer are there fantastic. I love watching Cuyler Murray play Daniel Jones play. I'm going to go to your scouting now too. I think works works in the NFL I think how many quarterbacks do you think get drafted early next year. You've looked at tape you've seen him. I think it's a huge quarterback. We're back here great year for quarterbacks. I think we're talking about five guys for sure that end up going in the first round how to if they come out so we have to. We have Justin Herbert Ervin. We have jake from gets a lot of attention. Georgia Jordan Love Utah State and you you have Joe Borough whose get some attention Jacob Easson who is in the mix who may maybe the most talented of them all and then you have Jalen hurts and so you have guys that are beginning to look at the quarterback position and not only realized that hey we can take what they do on Saturday and we can speak with into the Sunday game and they can have success coordinators are more creative more willing to do some of the stuff that we're seeing play in like some of the stuff that's used prominently in the college game and it's allowing the young quarterbacks to flourish the giants just look at the giants with Daniel Jones versus how they play Eli Manning you're seeing. RPO's you see a movement based stuff. We saw danger Jones run some zone re things it opens up the field is different is refreshing and because the game on Sunday looks more like the exciting games that we see on Saturdays. You have more people tune in yeah I mean it's just an Herbert Kid Oregon Oregon big strong athletics. I mean just he's GonNa work in today's. Nfl To who worries me a little he's a little Russell Wilson but more fragile is going to work in the NFL Jacob Ethan's a little flacco to me Denver will love him huge arm the kid at Utah State Plays Lsu this weekend you love him. Yeah Jordan Jordan love is the guy that is is experiencing what I call the pet mahomes bounce Pat Mahomes as a prospect and there's some guys on our side they loved him. They knew he would be this hour say you'll be hard oppressed to find. NFL Scouts that really felt that he was going to be the MVP two years into the League the common refrain when you talk about Pat Mahomes super talented why why unbelievable raw arm talent but you just didn't know who could refine it perfect storm Andy Reid great quarterback coach great whisper every quarterback that he is touched has played will Andy Reid had experience with a guy that was similar and Brett farve kind of nurtured him in hell breath follow me uh-huh is going to get this kid drafted absolutely because once we miss something that looks similar to that of a team that looks anything like that we're taking overdraft and so so I think the kid is talented. He's raw but because pet mahomes has worked in Kansas City. Someone's going to climb up and say a joy. Love just needs some coaching. We got the right coaches. We can make him be the next PAT mahomes yeah. I'm watching. It's funny bucky. I'm watching this Saturday college football. The quality of quarterback play Trevor Lawrence is a Sophomore Justin field at Ohio estate or sophomore. Those are two like those are two like last year at the two championship game. Everyone was ready to anoint. Trevor Laurence says the number one. I'm telling you right now. Justin MM fields at the end of the day would be the billable in that draft class. Justin feels has everything by the way he's a sophomore twenty years ago their Sophomore Sophomore quarterback in college. Were not that developed yes they were not no. I mean this whole thing seven on seven camps. I have a buddy whose kid was a is a developing quarterbacking backing southern California eleven years old. He had a personal coach training year whole industry the writing books on it whole industry looked train differ his up he lied eleven. I work with those guys on that. Did you get a chance to see those guys part of the reason why can go big onto and frahm and some of those other guys they all came through it so you get a chance to see them. In competition you get a chance behind the scenes and I will say there's never been a quarterback player then the plate. We're seeing right now. Yeah no I agree. I Saturday's you're seeing sophomores now. That look like Oh you could put them on a roster bucky brooks great stuff.

"I don't I don't see. I think I would like to look at too quick plays that I saw. Todd Gurley run one against my Dallas Cowboys one against New Orleans Saints. The I went thirty five yards for touchdown. Tell me he looks hurt on this. Because he looked like Todd Gurley to me when he got when he broke loose. This is against my Cowboys. Tell me do you not see the burst. Look this. Look what he did to my safety. You gave your woods that just looks like Todd Gurley to me. Which is what will you hurt like that? You can always show spurts even on that touchdown run. He scored in again. Let's look at that one. Got that one too. This is from I think six yards. Yeah. Six yards TD and he got to the goal line. I mean, I don't know that look like Todd Gurley spurt looked explosive spurts even when at towns my hurt Monday. I can go out and get a sack or two. I just couldn't play well for sixty plays. Right. You know, what he can go in and do some spectacular when it's needed. But he can't go out into stain. Your price. Thirty snaps. That's what anybody was hurt. You can do what's necessary when when needed, but it's no way he can go online about to get, you know, tablet, a few times online backup. And then go cut off again if you get putting the backfield his situation what he did. Of course, you can show a spurt and you'll get an is on he needed. We're going to see a lot of CJ. Yeah. So you're big gang back big game. Big. That's what they some guys. Just have have better games against other guys. But Tago he has a week off. I don't believe you do a whole lot this week on either big or put the game plan in. So everything what you get to Atlanta to be addressed rehearsal. You just fine tuning Geico. Get.

"It is not affected him. He can still hall ask. So when I hear the running back market has been reset, no, it hasn't. No, it has not. Todd Gurley is just an outlier like David Johnson right now wants a new contract. How in God's green earth is David Johnson gonna get close to as much money as Todd Gurley just got. He just missed the entire season last year with a broken wrist. And I think David Johnson's awesome personally, thirty five ish million. I pay him ten million dollars less than Todd Gurley and he's fantastic. I and I would clearly as people it feels like Todd Gurley. David Johnson are a little easier to deal with Levy on bell, but you're going to hear this all year whenever Levy on shows up probably before week, one Levy ounce going to break the Bank. He is going to just pull up to Wells Fargo and say, pay me my cash. No, I can't see a team in the NFL giving levian bell next year when he hits free agent free agency as a twenty seven year old with a suspension as past with shattered leg Innis past with some hold out. To this past with issues not getting along with the easiest Orgainzation to get along with in clearly not even the most important player on his offense. Non quarterback. We're saying non-core back. We're Todd Gurley. It's not even a question. He's in his own stratosphere when it comes to importance of what he brings the table in that offense like that's not even arguable. So I promise you the narrative will take on a life of itself. Levian Bell's not getting paid. Also, I see people, Twitter, the narrative nonstop is got Donald gotta, be mad, look at. They're paying all these other guys. Well, I've you it like this. If you're going to buy something that's worth a hundred million dollars and you're going to, you're also purchasing things that, let's say in this crazy amount of money, most people can't relate to this. I can't either, but if you were prioritizing by something that's worth one hundred million dollars and you were a business that would be a pretty substantial by. And then if you were buying things. Between thirty and forty million dollars. Those might be a little easier to buy, right? Might be easier to negotiate. It's easier to part with that amount of money relative thirty or forty percent of the big purchase, just easier to deal. You buy those two things. They add up to the other one thing. So when I see people like, oh my God, I can't believe they broke off Brandin cooks, which personally, I don't think that's a great contract. I would not have done that. We're paid Todd Gurley before Aaron, Donald will those deals or just easier to do obviously, earned Donald is going to get way more money. Maybe he'll get the amount of money that those guys got guaranteed combined hell he might get more. It would shock you if you got ninety million dollars guaranteed. No, but that is a very complicated deal to do. He is going to be the highest paid non quarterback in the history of the NFL. That is a complicated deal regardless of how much I love him, regardless of how town. Entity is it is just easier to go, hey, Todd, here's forty, five million dollars guaranteed. Todd probably ran his four three legs to the facility to sign contract Brandin cooks when he was handed his contract. I still haven't seen the exact guaranteed money. I think it's twenty nine injury and fifty injury guaranteed. "And he's just I the dinking and dunking. It's fines. I don't think the raiders will be good and I don't trust Jon Gruden as an NFL head coach in twenty eighteen the other one that I agree with you. I would just simply have higher up is Jacksonville every single team in the AFC south should be markedly better this year. The colts get your, I believe, patron Saint Andrew luck back the Texans, get an entire defense industry on Watson back and last year, the titans. I know they made the play. White, sound odd. Maybe they won't be better. But Mary ODA had an oddly ineffective year and I expect him to bounce back some. I just think it's hard to duplicate that type of dominant defense year-over-year. And they'll be reminded that their quarterback is still Blake Bortles. I'm not surprised you found a way to throw shade at my guy. Par for the course we don't have to start having that debate. Yeah. Yeah. We're at least three weeks away. So talk early gets the money and lady and bell gets the flimsy offer an I believe, one offer was record setting changes the paradigm running back pay. The other one was insulting and it wasn't just about their game. It was a message and the Rams message to the locker room was good dude will pay, and the Steelers was, hey, cleaned it up, quit colonists out. We're going to, we're going to leak. This story of the bat offer. It was, I think both teams sent a message. What did you make the girly great offer? And the lady in bell, embarrassing offer, listen, I think you're at least partially right? I think that obviously, girly having no suspension under his resume, girly being seemingly one of the better guys in the league helps and Levy on bell being one more failed drug test away from another suspension hurts. But I also think the Rams are. Organization in Pittsburgh because if they're just worried about quality of character, how good of a guy you are, I don't know. They go out and sign in consumer. I don't know that they go out and trade for a key to leave. And my guy Mark is Peter's, I think they're worried about raw talent and Todd Gurley is the most talented running back in the NFL. He led the entire league in scrimmage yards and touchdowns last year, but do you know how ten years ago there wasn't such a thing as a stretch for and now we talk in the NBA outstretch fours. We're going to need to create a new positional designation or Lou vernacular for this handful of running backs that are running back wide receiver, three down hybrids because they cannot be paid the way run into the line of scrimmage on first and second down old school. Twenty-eight carries ninety two yard running backs, work, Todd Gurley is one of these guys. Zeke is one of these guys l. bell is. I believe David Johnson is those guys certainly deserve to be paid at the very least like number two wide receivers. I mean, I had been a little confused with the way people have just simply said, oh, well, you can't pay a running back that much. You're not paying for the position you're paying for the offense accounted for and this like Levy on bell and Todd Gurley are better players than Brandin cooks, more valuable to their offenses, more bigger difference makers than Brandon cokes, but nobody thought they would sniff the type of money Brandin cooks Scott. There's only a handful of guys like this, but in the judgment was needed. Todd Gurley started to make that adjustment with his contract. If l. bell has a quality year and he hits opened free agency. He'll do the same. We'll see if David Johnson, Zeke follow suit to basketball questions. I said earlier this week, I don't buy this well people in LA. They don't like LeBron because he's Kobe's rival. I mean, I can think of an eight second, all star confrontation and nothing else. I don't remember their twenty two matchups which LeBron dominated I don't buy LeBron Kobe arrivals. I've never they're literally different generational attitudes. What do you make of that story? Okay. We'll listen obviously on the court as far as all time ranking historical performances. There is no comparison. If you wanna take regular season or playoffs any stat, advanced or regular, here's the full list of ones that Koby has on the Brun free-throw percentage. Yeah, that's the entirety. Of course. They're not historical rivals, but your feeling that there is no rivalry between them amongst the fans..

This employ, they send a message to other employees. It happens in every business I've ever worked in. Todd Gurley yesterday for the Rams news broke on our show, got a record setting deal, not just a new contract, a record setting deal. Shatters the way running backs or pay guaranteed. Money was massive. Lebian bell was low balled by the Pittsburgh Steelers leaked to the press. Isn't that interesting stuff leaks when somebody wants leaked the Steelers dead. Those moves were not just about football. I do believe girlies more valuable than Rams. Jared Goff young quarterback than lady and is to the Steelers hall of fame quarterback Ben Todd girlies had no suspension. No drugs, no holdouts, no calling out his team to the press in bells had suspensions and injuries, and drugs, and hold outs and bad press. Todd Gurley has frankly been the better employees and his bosses not only rewarded him. They gave him a little more than the position usually is worth. This is why NBC chose Jay Leno over David Letterman critics preferred, Letterman are tests comedians preferred, Letterman. But if you ever read the book by Bill Carter about Leno and Letterman and it was an HBO movie, it was fantastic. Actually, the story is they were deciding one day in Florida. They had a big meeting all the exact NBC and NBC was owned by a company called GE and Bob Wright was. The president and CEO of GE and he flew down after days of negotiating. Let all Letterman Letterman Leno. Letterman Letterman let who do you choose Bob, right? Walked in quickly and said, who's a better guy who you wanna be in business, whereas the.

"Don't don't be ashamed. Don't be the. I love how you do it. You shame except when they highlight Tom Brady, you read three times that differs according to say that he would lose it. Oh, Bella check would be just like, try to get bleep together. You read that three times you wanna same. Already twice. That's true. Holly read or twice, but the fact of the bed is you kill highlighting. So no, the worst is either lead. Todd Gurley is more valuable to the Rams than lady on his to the Steelers for the simple fact. They have Antonio Brown, they have juju. So with that being said, I would take Todd Gurley as being more valuable than lady on. So Ginny for almost two years. I've said over here on this side of the debate desk, and I've heard him day after day after day after day. Tell me that levian bells the best running back in football. Right. Hold on. I two things can be true. You wanna make it seem like they're mutually exclusive the whole on who's the best running back in football? I would. I would. I would take lady on slightly, but the more value the more valuable to two different things. So what if you put me on what, if you bet Levy on the Rams right now would he be better than girly. 'cause you say he's a better running back and a better catcher. Got better hands. I think tiger the little quicker and for what they do Rams do offensively. I think he's better for that style, but scared. But if you're the best running back in style would move more valuable. I believe Aaron Rodgers n..
