"About. How do you get the parking archy spot having a lot of space to work out in the garage area and now he's kind of having to you know? Take care of all the logistics by himself. You know where's the trailer GonNa Park how much Marie GonNa have What about the other Taylor? Ha what do I have to worry about them. So he's kind of getting a new taste of stuff dirt racing being the team owner on that side of things. Absolutely I think and ask our guy can bring it home You guys the bell. You Got Larceny Up Risco you got. Well 'cause I said you gotTa Khanna guys that are going to be running up front But I mean like I said. I don't pretend to know anything about racing but I would be if I was betting which I'm not. I put my money on. Bell or Larsen Larkin. Because they've put on a hell of a show the past couple of years and I don't think anything will change that this year. Definitely definitely. We've also got some other interesting. Names like Alex. Bowman Ryan Newman. Jj Ailey lots of those guys. These are going to be attempting this thing. So it'd be pretty fun to watch absolutely I gotta find a way to watch it. I think I haven't been able to watch the past years but this might be the year twenty point a new year new. Yeah I think coverage is on math. TV If I'm not mistaken as far as the Big Knights I think everything else leading up to that's kind of streaming online different from places we gotta find it though. That's that's you don't want to so Davey we've got Things are kind of shaking out. We've talked about some of the off season the move for some of these teams already at this point. Are there any other weird kind of off. The wall moves you think might be happening with these teams and drivers for next year. Maybe the truck series xfinity series Are you telling me that I may have tweeted earlier in the week. Hey possibly I mean I got to try to get from the source. Himself you know will. Yeah I would expect definitely announcement houseman regarding Derek Crowds. Who on the thousand? Nineteen Kanan pro series West Championship with Bill McNally racing. I expect an announcement By the time this show goes out. I think that will probably most certainly be announced In terms of his truck series questions for twenty twenty So keep an eye out for that. That's the only thing that I'm really tuned into for sure Because I've worked pretty closely with that team there at the powerhouse teams out on the West Coast for Arkell West now as it's called and I. I think they will also be announcing their for rookie drivers for that series for twenty twenty so keep an eye out On their social account as well as mine for that news when that drops offs. Because that's kind of I mean people that are on the west coast that follow Nascar. They'd probably not the name Bill McNally racing. But if you're on the east coast and you're not you don't get into the weeds of Arco. Ask the hand whatever you WanNa call it now you you might not know a lot about the Mr but to make a long story short. They are the J. G.. R. Andrew Stewart word hostile penske all rolled into one of west coast. Stock car racing in the short-track seen so they're a big deal out there and they're going to be announcing their plans this week. Sweet so aw keep an eye out for that Derek. Though had a heck of a season the And just kind of open a lot of is at what he's capable of. DC him as a future NASCAR you know national series champion. I think it's definitely possible. I mean he's got a lot of stuff going for him right now. He has Toyota backing. He has NAPA backing getting in sponsorship. As well as some other partners that you'll hear about later this week And he's pretty damn good driver too. I mean it's something about Wisconsin. Fan May or on the east title. Oh He's from Wisconsin. They across the West title. He's from Wisconsin. It's something about those she's up there. I'm Jacob Gade as well. I believe. He's from Wisconsin. Maybe in the Nascar we own all American series. Not exactly I believe he is though so I I think crowd somebody to watch going forward because you seen Hailey Dean jumped ship before you've seen Todd Gillan jumped ship the Ford so it's like Toyota's pipeline thinning out a little bit. He's not GonNa have as much competition in terms of his age bracket right now So I think he's GonNa be a name for watch moving forward and I think you'll see a lot of this year on a little bit bigger stage that's awesome. I'm pretty excited to see him. Mixed up with some higher level talents just to see how well he shakes. out It was fun watching him. Try to compete for both championships as past season East and West and obviously got the West one but You know was was competing. Pretty well there in the east there until I I kind of backed out of the race but We're also looking at Just before we go some kind of weird tussle the kind of started on on twitter this week between virtual racing real racing Brian Kazlauskiene and Doug Kobe who's a Well modified tour driver Six time champion in that series by the way They they both took very high exception to NASCAR kind of promoting the I. Racing series drivers to the level of having a media availability session and Just kind kind of a a season preview. Kind of deal They kind of call some racing not racing. What is your thoughts on this and Do you think some racing is the future of NASCAR and do we need to be putting a stake in that And Avenue Wow you're throwing me into the fire. Okay here we go yeah So I will say this first and foremost I do not participate dissipation. IRA's thing. I did try it once at a driver autograph session and I've probably was the worst possible human in the city of St Louis at I racing racing in that very that shows how bad I am an IRA then In terms of erasing and kind of the virtual aspect of things. I was very very skeptical when the whole push kind of started and I'm not ashamed to say when the peak races were broadcast on NBC ESPN and streams through NASCAR's social channels. I washed a couple of them and I didn't turn them off. I figured I'd tell him on for five minutes that they okay. Whatever this is fun? Gone Tom Tom. Move on with the rest of my day but I couldn't. They're like they're actually repelling. And I watched a couple more and I don't pretend to follow along with the the names and the personalities of the series in that in that realm but I do have a fringe following of that but I do also respect the Doug. Kobe Bryant allow skis and their opinions. On that I baseball somewhere in the middle. I I don't think that is here. Here's my thing right. Virtual racing I racing none of that is harmful to NASCAR. I think it's been official. I lean for is that it's definitely beneficial to now's car is opening up to a new audience. You're getting more eyeballs. You're getting more interest. Act You you might even get another William Byron. You never know but at the same time I think that Doug Kobe Bryant. Do you have a point and sense of. There's no real substitute for for hands on real world experience. Now I think maybe the way that One of those two drivers voice that on twitter was a little bit a little bit. I mean a lot of it out of line. It doesn't mean that their opinion is not valid and and it holds some merit so I fall somewhere in the middle but I definitely think that virtual aspect of racing in general is extremely streaming beneficial to the world of racing and I also saw tweet that basically said Nascar is not a sport. Auto racing is a sport. NASCAR is an entity that has motor sports auto racing in it and I think that gets lost a lot of people's minds when we start talking about this kind of topic so I think You know erasing. I racing everything that goes along along with that. It's good for the sport and I have a couple of friends that participate in some leagues and got drafted by teams and stuff and I'm happy to see them have some success and enjoy damn selves. So happy touchy subject. I noticed the beneficial oughta stuff for that. Well My side of things I'm looking at it is. It's been compared a lot. It's like call of duty and other things where people do that. They're not master-marksman when they go grab a gun or anything like that. Oh call duty stuff. You're holding a controller. You're not holding a gun when you're playing it Meanwhile when you're playing I race and you've got a steering wheel pedals via gearshift or you've got all that stuff and I think a lot of it actually does translate. And that's why we've seen some some people like William Byron Josh Berry and a few others succeed after doing I racing into the real world racing. My thing is that when we can probably end it here I mean. Give it a chance if you're one of those people that doesn't really have an opinion either way but you're seeing the back and forth on twitter. Give it a chance because I was one of those I gave a chance. And now I'm not host but I'm interested and I'm a supporter of because I think there's a lot of benefits and it has way more benefits than it does negative aspects. So I'm with it. Definitely definitely Davey single. Let everybody know how they can call you on twitter one last time a man Davy Center is my handle and you can also find me on instagram program at Davy underscore the man with two and since then my middle name underscore four And also my website. "You know he's the guy that i think it sounds like a like a bond villain or something but he ended up finishing fifteenth but his he had a lot more speed and as we know at these road courses. Is that often. Send your christopher bell on dinger's. Those guys don't make mistakes. They may not be the blazingly fastest car but with a lack of mistakes you can stay up front and jack hawksworth. I think can learn from those guys if he has another opportunity over there with the gibbs cars and before we forget the other guy in the big three we talked about custer bell and then tyler rettig fourth place run at mid ohio noah gregson had wrecked race car and drove it up to a top five finish just an august chase briscoe turning out to be a pretty good road course racer and he even says he doesn't consider himself that way but man he's run well on road courses and is making some noise of his own here coming down the stretch and they <hes> will of course not be running this weekend. They'll <hes> they'll take a the mid ohio coming up next for them <hes> and then walk side they will that'd be mid ohio. The next road course event on the schedule but they are are coming down the stretch run in terms of setting their playoff field as well. The trucks are all set as we mentioned. We'll talk with austin hill a little bit about that in a moment but there are some surprises there's there are some guys that we thought might make that field and wound up not getting there guys like have been roads like a harrison burton like a todd gillan three that really good equipment. Those are the three right there that come to mind that are the shockers of not making the playoffs ben rhodes. It can a every week contending for a win. All three of those guys lead at michigan to that and then you expect k._b._m. Trucks will be the first time we haven't seen in k._b._m. Truck in the playoffs and let alone one driver but the entire company's not in the playoffs. I know kyle <hes> a- as well as i think kyle it's gotta be foaming at the mouth realizing how much of a missed opportunity that both those young drivers did and it wasn't from a lack of performance. It's it was really just like we talked to seconds ago about the road course guys making mistakes it was really just not capitalizing on their performance with small rec center there and and.

"Slash NASCAR guy a sounds official <hes> you're also a reporter multimedia editor for French DOT COM and a freelancer for ask dot com. That's a lot of stuff man. I like to say that I keep myself very busy and my social life is somewhat non-existent much of the Chagrin of my friends and family but you gotta get it in while he can you know how it is ground grind in twenty four seven now while you're grind in twenty four seven you've been covering a lot of the Haley Degan rise the stardom over there on the Canaan West End Cannon East. She's been running as well. <hes> what's up with her man. I mean she looks like the next Dale earnhardt or something with the aggressive move. She's pulling yeah. I saw some people slapped her move on Derek Crafts at Colorado like she's a new intimidator and I was like all right. Let's let's relax everybody but no I mean she. She's the real deal <hes> the thing that people always ask me they say oh is she. The next Antica and I'm very quick work and firm to say no. She is not because Danika Patrick is a hell of a racecar driver. Do not get me wrong. She was not the best stock car driver in NASCAR. We know that her background growing up in racing was primarily open-wheel wheel. That's why when she transferred to Stockcar Racing Nascar specifically and let's face it she was rushed up through the ranks a little bit. She could've spent a lot more time in the extremity series she didn't do as well. Haley Degan has been growing up racing full-bodied at each stock cars and Lucas oil off road racing cars and I mean for goodness sake look or dads. It's Brian Dig and he's an X. Games legend so it's not like she's GonNa take people's crap. We've seen that already all of her three wins in the cannon pro series West have come on on last lap passes and they have all included some form or fashion of contact whether it was her own doing lap cars doing what have you. That's how it's been so she is a real deal and the thing that people need to understand about this day and age Nascar car until you get it. You need to have sponsorship backing. You need to be marketable. You need to have talent and with all those things coming together. You also need to have something else that sets you apart. Haley has all of those things but talent wins out in every single aspect of this sport and in any sport for that matter she just happens to be female. She just happens to be really young. She happens to have a lot of support and backing for monster energy and Toyota racing of course but she's a damn good racecar driver to definitely no doubt about at that now the other thing I wanna Kinda touch on is you mentioned her teammate Derek Crouse who she did kind of rough up a few weeks ago to get the win <hes> he's been running pretty consistently. He's the championship leader actually and has more wins than her in that series <hes> if it comes down to her and him for the chairmanship towards anything maybe Derek will lay the bummer for it. <hes> no doubt about that and toby not only does he lied the cannon West Standing See also is currently leading the cannon east point standings so he's trying to become the first driver to win both Kanan East and West Championships in the same year and ironically enough a couple years back todd Gillan almost did that in this very car for bill McNally racing but you ended up having a flat tire in the season finale out east in Dover but todd the two-time West Champ for this team team with this car the same exact crew same number everything the cars look identical Derek. Will I think he would lay the bumper to Haley. You know when push comes to shove at the end of the year <hes> there's been kind of some debate on people on the outside whether other now they're cool.

"But for now we're gonna go to the western hotline, and bring in from autoweek and short-track seen met Weaver, joins us on the line. Matt, it's Buchanan here in buffalo. Great to talk to you once again, my friend. Absolutely eight thousand gone doing well in you're deep in the heart attacks us this weekend for the truck series and IndyCar series race. And we were talking about that just before we had you on, and quite the race last night there for the IndyCar series and some great strategically. Thereby Penske racing to help their driver juice. Joseph new garden. Get the win last night. Yeah. I thought it was a great race from every perspective. I thought there was great strategy. I thought they was really good action. There was a stage of the race where it seemed time of stretched out. I mean I know at one point Ryan Honore had a five second lien. You're really paying attention to the race. He only had a huge lead because he screwed up. He was actually behind on strategy, and he needs to make an extra stop. So sometimes, and this is part of a larger conversation and racing. You've got to look a little bit deeper to understand what's really happening in a race. I think once you kind of follow all the storylines from last night's race. That was that was a great race in my opinion. And then by the end while once the strategy played out we still got a close finish there at the end to with Rossi challenging new garden. But it just seemed like map that the outside line wasn't as strong as maybe some of the drivers hoped. You know, we saw VH and Hinchcliffe, tagged the wall on the outside coming off, turn to and outside of Colin heard the outside line wasn't working for a whole lot of drivers last night. Yeah, that's kind of the byproduct of two different things. One, the reconfiguration has really eliminated L sideline. And also the new pavement. I mean the track is starting to age a little bit. Still just not, you know, coming in the way that a lot of drivers would like it to. This has been a crazy stretch for IndyCar. I, I know it happens every year but it's just remarkable in just the span of a couple of weeks. They race the Indianapolis five hundred you know their biggest race of the year. They go to Detroit run a couple of street course races. And then a mile and a half, what they call superspeedway race Texas last night, just what, what a crazy grueling stretch for the IndyCar season right now with these four races in the books. One hand. I agree. And I'm like, yeah, it's pretty crazy. It's pretty intense on the other both of us have been enough time around the NASCAR guys to realize they were pretty much thirty eight out of like orgy weeks here. But the difference is, of course, obviously, for the most part, most of the IndyCar teams are not staff the same way that the NASCAR guys are the infrastructure is not as dirty. Asker guys are so yeah, he's our gas. I've got a lot of friends over on the Indy-Car paddock side on the team side. And and those guys right now. They are looking forward to bothers a weekend because it's their first real break in about two two and a half months don't even look at the the racing. These guys are working really hard to get ready for the Indy five hundred and it's just a very strenuous part of the schedule. We rejoining us from autoweek last kind of IndyCar thought here, you know, coming out of this stretch in all the points that these guys could have earned over the last four races. It is new garden and Rossi here at the top of the standings. And they're not the only two in the race right now. But it shapes up even if it was just coming down to the two of them it's going to be an exciting championship battle here in the second half of the season with these guys. Obviously, there's a couple of other drivers still in the hunt, you know, willpower and Ryan hunter Ray, but I would. Mind. See Rossi new garden inside the championship this year. Yeah. Same I wouldn't either. I'll say this. I think that we're probably getting, really, really close to the point where this is probably Joseph new garden championship to lose. I think most people would agree that Alexander Rossi, if not the most exciting driver in the sport might be pound for pound the most talented team is a little bit stronger right now than, than Andretti, autosport. I think overall the Chevy package is a little bit more a little bit better than the Honda package. And I think that it's going to probably take a screw up happening by the two team to allow the twenty-seven to, to really take the championship battle to the new garden. And Penske, you were there for the truck race there in Texas to unfurl night. And just give me your thoughts on Greg, biff, I guess, coming out of retirement to dry for Cowboys motor sports on Friday and get the truck series win. How crazy? Is that right? Forgive a in the winter and how memorable that was listen, that was not a could raise. It was not a it was not a traditional barn burner. But it was it was wild. It was a tornado guys were crashing. Every eight to ten laps the restart as always in the truck series were hectic and crazy. And you've got a lot of young drivers who who were making mistakes that allow you to veterans in Greek biff evil and Matt crafts and to race for the win there at the end. It was interesting to me, because rig people's last couple of starts in the truck series was the beginning of crafts and full time career in the truck series. And if you go back and look at the of the paint schemes and you look at them the racists, from two thousand one season there is crashes driving Thorpe sport number eighty it's remarkable. How how little some things change in the sport. But good for break that, bull man. I mean this guy has. Has been laid off now for two and a half years got the call from cow Bush. Get one of his friends. A ride in a NASCAR national touring series. And right now, you know, he looks just like he did when he left and this is a guy was a lot of talent. One of the smartest guys in the sport. And it was good to have him back in the garage. More than anything else. So so good for him. And it was funny because the wind came on the heels, of course. Greg driving for Kabul motorsports. Kyle. You know, throwing some shade at his current stable of young drivers in Todd Gillan and Harrison Burton that they haven't lived up to maybe his expectations this year, but then he goes out and wins Kyle's tweeting that he looks like genius for putting Greg in the truck and it auto throws. Maybe a little more drama there in the KBM camp. Yeah. A lot more drama. You know, Todd Gill and, and, and Harrison Burton or eighth and ninth in the championship standings. So they're both barely hanging on to a playoff spot. One of them one of them's out and now, Ross Chastain is decided he's going to chase truck series championships. He wins. There's theories scenario that both KVM drivers missed the playoffs. And meanwhile, cow Bush has five stars that he's allowed to make by NASCAR. He wins the mall NAMI hires buddy. To come in for a one off and he wins in his first race in two years. And so that does say a lot about about Todd in Harrison, but I'll say this, both of these guys are super talented. And I know the NASCAR community hasn't seen it yet. I've been following both of these guys and they're late model for them. Do battle on the canon series. They are Megan talented. But I think the difference right now is one not every drivers, the same that every driver is going to be as quick as Byron and Bill and Jones word acclimate to the truck series. And also the other point, I would make is the difference. Kyle. And Greg had is they had Rudy two-goal calling the shots and that is a significant difference. Yeah. There was some crew chief shuffling this week with the other KBM trucks, Matt, last thing before we let you go. You weren't far from us last weekend you were up at the CASA Motor Speedway Nells corners, Ontario, kind of your Hamilton and checking out the pin t series. They little rain to deal with the last Saturday, but the, the show and last Sunday, but you know that that has become a phenomenal track up there at uconn. They've got a big late model race once again Labor Day weekend. Just your thoughts on your trip up north last weekend or west west as we say here in buffalo because it is to the west of us, not north. It really blows my girlfriend's mind. Sometimes I'm like, let's, let's go back north to the United States. She's a little geographically challenged when it comes to your southern Ontario. I love that race track a love that series. You know, I I would give plug to all the listeners the NASCAR series is nail available every single race on fans choice TV this is a fun series. It is all short tracks road and street courses the cars are basically nineteen nineties Cup series equivalents. This is a fun tour with veteran drivers and I was on vacation true racer form of vacation includes going to go find a race track. And I love seeing, you know the people who run that series race in that series. It is make exciting chance. Tune in because their season just started that was race two of the season. And so Anna, you know start late finish early. And. They're just getting heated up. Yeah. They'll be racing with the IndyCar series in Toronto. Couple of week, a weakened or sees me couple next month, I should say they're part of the Bill up there in Toronto with one of their street. Course races. Do you have plans to go up for the big late model racer Labor Day weekend? Or what's on your schedule that part of the year? I am. I'm doing my usual where you know, I do a ton of NASCAR and IndyCar this year so that's going to allow me to go cover Toronto for for both of those series. And I'm not missing the, the Canadian short-track nationals for anything, the who run that track are really committed to making that a showcase or for pro late models. And you know, they're gonna raise their purse all the way to a million dollars, and in two years, every year is going to increase incrementally. And if you look at the entry list right now it's already at a snowball derby level, and it's only going to rise as we closer to September. So yeah, I'm palm that is going to be a great, great show, especially if you wait a couple of years. Wait for that track service to age still freshly paved. So the racing is probably not what it used to be. But we're getting there and that place is going to get really exciting really star studded, isn't it? It's quickly turned into one. Favorite races of the year won't if you wanna make an extra chip to Giacosa this year, you know, you're gonna be if you're going to Toronto for the car as that same weekend research, ESPN's modified is Masuda is super modified were running that Saturday night. So if you need another excuse to go back to ju- CASA got it for you right there. Don't, don't entice me with another race. You're gonna make me actually do it to say no to racism and it's a great header modified and super modified, it was a great show last year, and it should be a good show this year met, we were from outta weak and short Trixie met you do a phenomenal job covering any former motor sports. "Studios. Almost nineteen years have been doing this. Thank you Philip for being a part of this area sex. But of course, all those snappy little digital platforms that were on iheartradio toot in soundcloud, radio dot com. Crash. Gladys statman Keti sergeant his name is Todd Gillan eighteen year old Todd Gillan. He's soon to be nineteen your Arca series Witter. Talladega Friday night joining us here. The freak Dacian winning the general tire two hundred race now with the name of Gillan Todd. We know the significance of your old, man. And of course, he owns the team that you're racer poor with Arka. But have you found yourself, whether it was in the other driver out there the last day of a father. That's raced in NASCAR general that you had to prove yourself differently than other drivers. I think I haven't really felt pressure from hammer in the life name. But I think there's one prove myself, you know, it's been really helpful to have obviously some relationships or opened up with him being in the Cup series. But once you get that relationship started talking, you know, nothing helps more than results, and there's been a being able to go out there. And perform for yourself with a race. Like Talladega superspeedway such as that was their advice that your old man give and you've had success as super speedways. I know that. But is there advice that he continues to give you with these bigger tracks? Or is it? Hey, man. You got this, dude? Yeah. He doesn't really good job balancing of when he needs to really help me in and be kind of critical of me in time to help me kind of pick myself back up and go do it again. So the biggest thing you probably to continue to be patient on an authorized Shrek. No it's throughout the race. And you got to play out in your favor or against you. But you gotta let it happen. And you know, off the racetrack things haven't been going great just just on the truck side really that are hard to control. But it's all about that racing. It's one of the hardest sports in my opinion to to get momentum built back up and cave going again. But we have that right now. Todd joining us here in the freak nation. Your winner from the arc Orissa. Talladega this weekend. And that's one of the reasons what you just said right there. That's one of the reasons why it's so key to get back where you do have a good comfort level. Let's say Arca on a superspeedway and. Get a win. You've gotta start that momentum somewhere. And who knows maybe this kick-starts something great for you in the truck series moving forward. Absolutely. That's what we're hoping for. And it's tough because you're driving for Kyle Busch. And I know Kyle had some comments back in February that I'm wondering does your dad kind of balance out what Kyle might save you. Of course, Kyle Busch being your team owner in the truck series and Kyle saying, hey, Golan's careers on the line can your dad kind of balances out and give you is that like when he really wants to give you that patience advice. Absolutely. You know, obviously what he said is is true. We have to perform washer we didn't do great. And you know, even this year, we have not started off good at all. So we need to get there sooner rather than later. And but not everyone in our on our team is pulling them same direction at how motor sports. And now the reason Kyle say that stuff is because team is top notch. And really is a pleasure to drive there and not continue to work hard towards win that first race. But nothing one of the things that's cool. Is if the trucks are there? No, it really allows you to kind of work on myself, and my communication everything like that to to make myself a lot better Todd Kinney, and I have driven NASCAR trucks in schools where you are on the track. What at a time? But that comes where close to the difficulty of driving a race. Those things are hard to handle. I bet you're learning that driving stock cars versus trucks. Absolutely. You know, when you go out there by yourself seems easy you've tons of downforce and tons of side force. But know, the real difficult time is when you get into the race on the just even the initial start you driving turn one with obviously trucks in front of you and all around you. And you probably a quarter of the grip air dynamically that you had in practice. Actually tire pressure down. Everything's cold. So now that'll get your attention quick. And it's really hard to pass because you know, how the air on your truck when you need it the most. And obviously, I've got myself in trouble with that plenty of plenty of times. But it's something where you always want to push the envelope. But the second you do get yourself into more trouble. So you really just need to wait for them to make a mistake. And at the same time, you've probably got some people written down your neck pined UCF to be perfect to are you saying you definitely have to feather the throttle differently in a truck versus a car when you restart during a race. I think you just have to to really be careful about what positions you put yourself in. Because. No. It's usually going to be a bad spot. No matter where you are. No, the further you get back in the pack. The worst air there is and make the best out of every position. Always to put your vendor out yet a little bit more air on it to to help with the tightness. And also, give yourself a little bit of gap on your right side off someone else to not keep some side force on it. So it's a little bit look in position. But you can also be smart about it. Todd Gillan arc winner from Talladega. Friday night, the general tire two hundred on general tires Todd. How quickly can you adjust drum at car to a truck? Is it a mediator doesn't take a lap or two in practice? Every time I've gotten able to jump in the arc racing series. I feel like I've just had so much fun. No. From the first lap. Here's Liden around competitive trucks and kinda same as a lot of the same issues when you get into the race around other people, but just being a little. Disliked it a little bit more and have a little bit less tightness right behind people at it helps a lot and at the same time, you can work on some other stuff, but also paying attention to to same issues that I'm have to learn say, maybe even the next day in the truck Todd when you're watching this afternoon's race with the Cup series on. Talladega. Are you on the edge of your seat? Like, most of us are as fades. But you're you're do this run that that track numerous times in a big boy car, but do you watch it on the edge of your seat? Today. Those really raising. They're all right in the Pac file the whole time and even arteries got a little bit single file out. And luckily, we're in the league at the time because it gets really hard to pass when you get into those situations. But today, it seemed like everyone's be being really aggressive and able to make it many movies. I want it. So to me, those really really awesome to watch. But the same time, I'm sure there's drivers Radha control. You could see him slipping sliding around, and that's definitely not on that one ninety two hundred they're going, so MS really cool. And I feel like as a driver watching the race. You definitely notice the the bad situations as well as the good things that people did even more. You know, what was not awesome to watch who is flopping on your Twitter account a couple days ago. Awesome to watch to come on does a couple of weeks ago and vacation actually in Costa Rica and music plan and just came to me. Loss. Baby now action. I don't know. There's there's something just missing there. Yeah. I don't think I nailed it yet. But I'll keep working on it. I'm after release video of my my final attempt at it. There's got to be a victory lane floss seriously. You're next win. You're going to do the perfected version of the flaws and it's going to be for Kyle Busch. And he's going to give you a mega high five because of it. Okay. I'm gonna to practice right after gift the phone here. So is your guns idea when I win and just start floss on? Well, it's crazy man with your old, man. And now you again, your your old man was was word Cup full time, and he rolled into the freak day should come out to some of our parties, southern California. Now, a great family. I can tell by talking to you too. Awesome. Congratulations. Thank you. Thanks for having me. Time with Todd at Irwindale speedway there in southern California and found out this eighteen year old is old beyond years. Oh, he was old beyond his years. When I talked to him at fifteen fifteen I gone for sation, and you look at it. Well, he's talking to said. This guy. He can't he can't be under twenty one. He was more mature than some of the clowns that were he was racing against in Cayenne and some of the guys who came up from the late models that are one day. I'll just. Cool kid, and I talked to Bill. Mcnally raced for and Bill said the same thing that the kid is he's ready, mature wise. I just need more experience. He's he's ready to get a Cup car and handle it right away. And here, I am talk. He's outed more hooked up in some of the drivers weren't today's Cuppers. His dad. Dave Gillon who we've known for quite a while. In fact, I we were talking to Todd before it went on the air with us about. His dad would come into come on the show or come to our parties. And I think it was either. Right. When Todd was born. That's how long the doing this damn thing. Todd Ville eighteen years old and Dave Gill. Just what a nice guy, it's sort of those cats that is just what can I do for you, Kenny? What can I do for you speed freaks, just plain good people? It'll southern California dudes that earned earned their way up through member. Would Todd Gillan got that? I ride tottered excuse me. Dave gilligan. They Dave Gill. Gillan when he got his first ride. I full time ride early two thousands just significant because it was given stat man was associated with those tracks in southern California or speedway specifically. And all of a sudden, we got one of our own run with the big boys. Yeah. It is dad was also I think Todd is third at least third generation driver. So. Yeah. Next the family business is racing cars and Todd he just laughs about going to high school like who cares about those guys? I mean, it's he's he's really just at we all know, the archetypal really work with their drivers get drained from media, but Todd could probably work with some of the other drivers in the vicinity series. Get them trained from media. He really understands how to talk to people..

"And you're listening to the final app or. Hi, this is Chris butcher driver of the in. Which case he's going to have like ten minutes to fill. I am Chris butcher driver of the Kroger flavored Philip speed up your clean up. It's. Yeah. So I don't know how that's gonna work. Well, I'm sure he'll just simplify it by saying Kroger. Well, see they didn't consult with us is the problem. I'm having with this. Right. We got in the Email. I were they should have told us. Hey heads up on on your line or requests. Might be a little a bit long. How often do we do line or requests anymore, by the way, I do them when I know? I don't have them in the Bank ready. Right. And then we don't ever use them while I do on the radio show. Let's do more often hear that way. It sounds like the actual of the show even though they don't all right. That means more work for me. But whatevs it's all about you have minute dropbox somewhere. Just plop men, man. Yeah. You make it sound all easy and stuff. Well, okay. Yeah. That's able to cut out all the different times you have to retake before a segment starts. You could definitely throw in a file of Jimmy Johnson going. Hey, this is Jimmy Johnson driver, the number forty eight low Chevrolet, I could do that except for now it needs to be ally Bank. So you're in trouble. Well, see that would be an instance, where if we were to get an interview with him, we would re ask for the liner. Or we can just cut the car out the say Jimmy Johnson. Now, you're listening to the file well I've done that too. Let's good. Why are we still talking about this? I don't know how this tangent started. But there are a lot. I mean all law. What I wouldn't even I don't want to read this because just go to Toby Christie dot com and check out the massive list of different sponsors. That's going to be on these two cars. I while all the list you have. Here's what's on Bush car. That's what I mean. Yeah. Preece is a little bit more simple, actually. But. Yeah. Well, this is I mean, they should have. I think they're kind of devaluing things to be honest because I mean think they're devaluing things. Yes. Because why couldn't a team go to general mills, for instance, and say I want sponsorship for the whole year because you're mills a, hey, we're paying a lot less. And now it's like a special feature every every month. Right. That's devaluing things. He just made my point devaluing it for the teams. But it's adding value for the sponsor, but it's not helping the sport. So now every car out there is going to have to have like eight million sponsors just to get by. Well, you say that. But there's two cars here that are fully funded that have not one race. What the last five seasons? That's pretty good. But what if say ally Bank says all right? Well, forget this Jimmy Johnson noise. I'm gonna go over here and be a little tiny sticker. Okay. But they get a little sticker. Now, that's a lot of millions of dollars. Not in the sport. Uh-huh. Devaluing devaluing all know, it'll actually add value because then the teams will be forced to spend less because they're making less, and it'll be a nice little thing. Wherever Bill be kind of equal. All right Todd on Europe. Todd gillan. Oh, yeah. He will run the full season in the Kabua's more sports number four truck. I wrote about this this week. He came so close to win last year half lap away. If memory serves, which it does because I was there on hand to any hopes to nail down that I loose trip to victory lane in one of the best trucks in the garage area. Todd son of David gale..

"Season. What's we get to January? I think guns are we're ready to get at it and get back to the racetrack of your takeaways from two thousand nineteen no that we crown showing the gone or the champion at homestead he received the formal hardware over the weekend last week in Las Vegas. And now he's he's obviously making his way through doing the tour. I've seen all over town and all that stuff. But when you sit down and you reflect back on twenty nineteen what are some of your key takeaways that we had there? Well, I think clearly Joey Logano had a fantastic run to the finish the final ten races were nothing short of spectacular. I think certainly the the big three if you will. Kevin Harvick Martin tricks junior. Kyle Busch the way they all competed this entire season different race teams different manufacturers. And the way they went at at all season long. Nothing short of spectacular that was bigger than and obviously some of the the silly season news because there was quite a bit of it this year. Yeah. There's also a quite photo opportunity taking place right now and directly in front of us. We have folks posing for a picture Sammy Jo in Rocco Cole Custer Todd Gillan just to name a few. We've got the rooster. Here. Ricky Rudd he's in the house a lot of lot of celebrities here, and it looks like we've got some donations coming through here already. We which is good were benefiting the kids. This is a fun night. I know you've been coming here for a while I've come for a handful of years or so, but it's a it's a fun time and benefits of great. 'cause this is the thirtieth year that Don Miller's put this charity on obviously since they built the NASCAR technical institute. It's been held here, and what would have to hold it in. But the thirtieth year of doing this in it. It is for fantastic calls for all the underprivileged children out their way. It works all the fans and their believe me you and I had a chance to walk around a while ago. There are fans lined up all the way around this place. But they bring toys in even have San. Clause walking by bit. We have they bring the toys in case to come and meet a legends from five to seven. And then all the sudden they come into this room from seven to nine and get a chance to meet more drivers more people from from the garage area in the NASCAR industry. It is pretty good. We appreciate you. Stop invite. I know that there is a throng of Alex Aiden fans that are queued up as we speak. Both of them are out.

"Mean, I guess all it's left win. I felt like our solar. Chevy was good in practice. Harvick Stephanie the bass. But. Far off. So we'll see how it goes today. But just get some luck. Yeah. We haven't had much luck here at Texas last couple of times so try and get lucky and good luck today. Thanks, aren't there's Kyle Larson. Unfortunately, he's crashed out of the last two Texas races. Brent McMillan I'm here with Trevor Bayne and tell you it's interesting how the things kind of come full circle your first Cup. Start was here at Texas Motor Speedway. And today will be your last Cup start in the six car little emotional, very, it'd be lying. If I said it wasn't. It's kinda hard to know. What the that'd be honest. You know, I got through kind of a roller coaster of times where he think oh, my going to be sat at all. And then you have times where you're like, man. I'm a wreck. So. It's a weird feeling for me. But just thankful for all opportunities of had from the wood brothers. Even Jack giving me the chance to drive the six car and advocate standing behind me. But it's a surreal feeling man. I tell you this last little bit of the season knowing that it was coming to a close has made me appreciate what I really love nest. Driving race cars. There's some things that are tough that you don't enjoy about this sport. But there are a lot of things that I do enjoy. And those are the things I look forward to today. And that's when this race starts and make laps on this racetrack decent start today. So hey, take this thing to the front. Yes, sir. Thank you. All right. That's Trevor Bayne today. He does have a decent search. But he's in the fifteenth spot bread Gilly. Well, just a couple of spots up from that rep McMillan is air Jones who did collect his first career xfinity series win here at Texas Motor Speedway. Of course. The first Cup win happened back in July at Daytona. There's nothing saying that a non-playoff driver can't go celebrate in victory lane with cowboy hat. How about you today? Yeah. We'd love to. I think we've got a long run car for sure that could do it and sportclips. Camry. It's been clicking along run all weekend. Which is good. You know, we're hoping it stays green at long last date. So it may work out in our favor. I think we've. We gotta make some good changes. Gotta get some good track on pitstops. You gotta get our way up to the front. We just missed a little bit and qualifying round. So we've got the car we just need to have a solid day with some guys that are really fast upfront. But if we can put a whole day together pretty perfect guava shot at it air Jones is going to start twelfth. And guys he's been putting together a lot of great race weekends here in this number twenty Toyota. He certainly has again sometimes people forget we get down to the final eight about the guys who did qualify for the playoffs and Eric Jones one of those drivers. And certainly as we look farther down the road as far as the monster energy Cup series is concerned. Eric Jones will make a run a serious run for the championship at some point. Now we mentioned yesterday that Cole Custer won the series race. A very dramatic last lap pass over Tyler Rettig. Also want to congratulate Justin Haley for winning the Camping World truck series race here at Texas over Benton roads, Brett Moffitt, Todd Gillan and Austin hill..

"To night. That would it's all up. Yatta the inside goes to land readiness, tire tracks is no aggression, Todd Gillan trying to hold off teammate, Noah Gregson for the final time and turn ten. He wiggles here comes Greg's into the inside. They make contact. They both turn Ted Justin Haley. Diving to the inside. Another classic Canada finish, and Justin Haley has won the several as Silverado to fifty. You see Justin Haley sailing by their to get the victory. He shoulda waved at the window and say, thanks guys, and as he heads to the stripe and gets the checkered flag there. But a lot of controversy about are they allowed to have a drama free finish and donating tire know that again, that's a race track and racing happens and rubbings race, and we all saw days of thunder back in the eighties. If he didn't kids, look it up days of thunder. Some guy named Tom Cruise is in it. You can't hold it exactly. And the simple fact is rubbing his racing and there was an opportunity there. One driver saw it and the other driver wanted to take it away and and we're didn't work out for either one of them. So it's a, it's a situation where I think there are legitimate arguments to be made on both sides. Todd Gillan said afterwards, he was very upset and wanted actually go and fight Noah, but knew he couldn't. Noah said he thought the that Todd's spotter was going to tell him. He was underneath him. We don't know if that happened or not. But regardless it is a fantastic finish in terms of the act. Action that that track provided. And I think I don't think there's been one single year when we haven't had something like that on the last lap in Canada. We've said it before and I can repeat it racing, a selfish and the very selfish sport. So when you're when you have something, you're keeping it away, if I haven't, I'm keeping away from you. If I have it, you want it. You have to take it from me. And that's exactly what we saw. We saw a very selfish act, but that's makes great racing, we see we see an opportunity that's exposed by the Ford truck. We see an opportunity that's trying to be taken by the eighteen truck and both opportunities vanish way. And just at Haley's able to have the opportunity literally handed to him in the lap. So kudos those guys, he's not even on the gas, Justin Haley isn't he? Just happened here. So racing is selfish. I like that Todd was upset. I liked that their crew chiefs are upset. I like that. Noah said I, I'm not taking all the blame for this and it was layer of where he didn't get a little consideration that he felt he was owed that was circulating around on social media earlier. So he and Todd have had some scrapes, shall we say along the way. But this was certainly a drum drama filled finish. This means, however, the Justin Haley punches his ticket to the next round of the playoffs. He doesn't have to worry about Las Vegas or Talladega. He knows he's going to round two Johnny solder still a very strong position as the overall leader in the standings Brett, Moffitt right there as well what a run he had. And he's one of the guys who describes himself as not very strong on the road courses, but he had a really good run yesterday. And then you've got Matt craft in Stuart freeze, and Ben Rhodes and grant in finger grant finger went back to the front. I think twice in that race and then wound up getting shuffled out toward the end. So. So six guys will advance after round one the bottom to there and maybe number six, the spa. You gotta watch that six spot is the final transfer spot the Brett. Moffitt actually talked after the race. Their strategy worked really good to get a playoff points in the first and second stage. But in doing so it put him in the back of that third stage and he was able to most still March towards the front and finish third, but his truck was really fast and he didn't. It wasn't able to take advantage of the fact that or take advantage of the fact that get back to the lead because the state the last age wasn't very long, but he was really fast during that event, but chose to take the first two stage points opportunities after the victory are Kim Kun had a chance to speak with Justin Haley in victory lane plan..

On my Facebook page it is quite, a remarkable and Mr. Leclerc is here on this earth I think still, because of the halo the, halo protective, device surrounding Leclerc cockpit. Appear. Was stupid looking or whatever It'd probably save somebody's life today is kept him from getting a real halo that's correct probably. In the IndyCar series ought to adopt the same type of thing yeah because. Deal, and get it done because they lost A year ago they lost Justin Wilson To a head injury when a piece of the wreck car hit him in the head and and struck and. Killed him at Pocono a year ago and, I would suggest that maybe if know Ryan hunter Ray has. Come up and he has spoken out and I'm sure if you other drivers are really. Speaking out now about they've, protected everything now they've protected the. Car that one in Indy car wrecks you saw it last week and all rips apart except for the for the tub that the drivers in and they need, to, put a halo on these. Guys they've they've. Got the safer barrier they've done this they've done that with great strides towards safety and auto. Racing and all forms of motor sports but you got. IndyCar series do. Something here because you've had a couple of wrecks now and you had one today that in. Formula one on the very first lap Okay You know it's right to windshield unbelievable seeing that video of, Fernando Alonzo car that thing came apart like it was a, toy? Right I, mean it was it was parts and fuel and everything spewing all over the place and that and that thing actually took a chunk out of of Leclerc solver, today a chunk of it out of the out of the. Halo that's how violent that wreck was an thank. Goodness they had the. Halo I don't think. Any I. Don't I don't hear anybody in Formula one now, saying I don't want the. Halo it looks, ugly? Right the last time I checked and I hear anybody saying that chip is that can you hear anybody saying that? Now, no, no you have nobody saying. Couple of other, drivers decided they were going to go ahead and squeeze in a, pit stop before this day draws to a close Yeah we did we run we saw, a couple of the guys farther in the back they're going to use this opportunity to come down and make that pissed off now because we've talked to a lot, of, the drivers and they say that it's really hard to pass. Your so they take the opportunity to short pay before. This stage in order to get back on. Track as might, be.
