"Best bets. This is the HR RN best bet. All right buddy, where are you going? Yeah, I mean, we don't like to give off huge favorites, generally. And tap a trace is going to be a huge braver and if Frank's rockette is going to be a huge favorite. I assume the horse I'm picking is going to be a huge favor, but maybe not quite the two to 5 sort of price, those others might be. I just think Clara absolutely is way, way better than the field at Oakland. And I think what you said about malloc. What would the price be on mala fed against this group? And that's nothing to take away from secret oath or hidden connection. I just think Clara is in a different class. The morning line is 6 to 5. I'm unloading the bank account if you get 6 to 5. I think it's probably more like four to 5. I still think clear a year is good value at that price. I just think she's in a different class from this group. All right, so Claire, for Dave in the azeri, yesterday a little bit on our first bet racing show. We had time to talk a little bit about my misfortune at the craps table at pachanga casino outside of LA. Well, to use craps terminology, I'm going to bet on the come as it were with my HR and best bet. And that's in the grade three San Carlos tomorrow at San Anita. I think number three spirit and Makena is a horse with a bright future. Now, I don't know why it took so long to get this horse to the races. He's a 5 year old, only raised three times thus far, and he didn't start till the back half of his four year old campaign. But he looks like he's getting better and better, and I think he has more upside than the others in this race. And the repeat of his last race, I think, is good enough to make him the one of the ones to beat. He's four to one on the morning line spirit of Makena on the come, as it were in the grade three San Carlos race 5 tomorrow at San Anita. Want to remind everybody another bang up edition of the equine form presented by twin spires tomorrow morning from 8 to 11 a.m. Eastern Time. "That's our producer Lee. That is bad. I'm going to say that I'm in this race, but I want to sell him for the Derby. I don't think this race will produce it to everyone. Okay. How about the San Felipe stakes at Santa Anita, the favorite is national treasure, first start for trainer Tim yak teen after being transferred from the barn of Bob Baffert, Dale by or sell. I'm going to buy him, I think, voice that go ahead, Lee. I'm going to buy the source. That's a good horse. He could be bought in the race, and he possibly could be bought for the Derby. Timmy? Well, this is I'm going to agree with Dale. I'm going to buy this one. In this race, one of Tim yak teen has, I think it's 5 total, but four of them are formerly baffert horses and American treasure was third in the breeders cup juvenile last year. Second in the American Farrell last year last year, and he was in his debut, he was third in the sham at odds on. So I think that he's going to be a horse that I think should win this race, but he's going to have competition. I mean, my butchered this name had jazzy, who was also from bob's barn is now with the act in the New York bread, the New York horse that went for three and a half million bucks. He's eligible, I think, to do something pretty cool in this race, but as far as national treasure goes, I'm going to buy. All right, Timmy, we'll stick with you for the fountain of youth. I think this one is maybe I'll be surprised by your answers to this one, but the juvenile champion forte returns in this one for Todd pletcher by or sell. So in light of our little competition, I have to buy, don't I? Yes. And he's one of my stable fantasy stable horses in here. And he's the defending juvenile champ from last year. Todd Fletcher has said on record that he's been trading better than he's ever been trading, but also it's his first start since the juvenile last year. I mean, the source doesn't have to be ramped up to his full potential in this race because the bigger goal is down the line. And he's already got 40 points in the Derby standings. He's probably going to get in off that. I'm not saying that forte's going to just lay an egg here. I think he's the horse to beat. And there's some stiff competition in here. And I also hope that another horse, a cyclone horse rebounds in this race, but for my standpoint, the fact that he's on my fantasy team, I hope he wins. Well, there you go. Again, I want to sell him in his race. But I'll buy him for a Derby prospect, because he's a real deal. And you know, we've seen the two best two year old Phillies come back and throw a little clunkers first time back and I bought both of them. I think you're going to rebound. And I think the same thing could happen here. Dale, does your decision to sell forte have anything to do with what Timmy just mentioned in the fact that you're saddling cyclone mischief against him later today? 100%. That's all. I can't buy the competition. I'm buying Dell Romans later today in that fountain of youth. So Dale, good luck there. One more for you, the John battaglia memorial at turfway. Don't dismiss this race, rich strike came out of this race last year to win the Derby. Gilmore, his first start for Brendan Walsh is the favorite in here, runner up in the el Camino real Derby with Bob Baffert last time out. Dale, what do you think? Buy or sell Gilmore. I want to buy him in this spot. Brendan is a good friend of mine. Brennan's, we're country club buddies. We go the same club. We play playing together, hang out together. As far as next to my Churchill, one of the great guys of the game, kind of an under the radar guy, I think he's going to do a great job of the source. I want to buy. I did a lot of thinking on this one, and I'm giving him a lukewarm buy on this one. I mean, he's already proven on a synthetic surface when he was second in the el Camino real. And. This should be right up his alley. And Richard, like you mentioned rich strike was fourth in this race last year and I think he's the only horse that's ever come out of this race to win the Derby and of course no one ever saw that coming. But for this race, I'm going to take a buy on the Gilmore man, not the Gilmore girl. All right. There you go. We'll do it all over again with buy or sell as we get closer to The Kentucky Derby. We'll maybe do it with the top 5 list for The Kentucky Derby as we get closer. But that wraps up this week's edition. Now we had to another fun segment that we like to do every single week. And that is welcoming our good friend Nick zito to the show for this week's right or wrong. Yeah,

"Win bet bonus and earn a $20 bonus if you hit a $25 win bet on the cigar mile opt in any promo this weekend and more at the naira bets dot com promo calendar. You can bet the cigar mile and watch America's day at the races to keep up with all of the action on FS two this weekend. Both days. Tomorrow and Sunday, FS two from noon to four 30 Eastern Time. All right, Dave, four graded stakes on the aqueduct card tomorrow. And at the top of the show, we heard the stretch run of the 2020 edition of the demoiselle, the 2022 edition goes as race 6 tomorrow in 2020, malata was able to get the win and she certainly turned out to be a very good three year old and four year old Philly throughout her career and her full sister figures to be the heavy favorite in this year's edition of the demoiselle. That's number three, Julia shining, who was eye catching in her maiden wind sprinting 7 furlongs or approximately 7 furlongs at keeneland her lone start. She is three to 5 on the stretch out and facing tougher competition. Yeah, she was the favorite first time out, but not an enormous favored in a 12 horse field. She went off at a little under 5 to two. And like you said, she was just terrific. Daughter of curling. This is one that I think Todd Fletcher knew was pretty good. And ran well first time out. Now the fig did not come back enormous. In fact, the top fig in the race is number one foggy night who earned that fig at parks and then came back and ran a very credible race in an a $150,000 stakes race at aqueduct only about a month ago, but to me, if Julia shining runs kind of the B plus a minus race that we're all anticipating and expecting, I think she's better than this group. There's another Todd pletcher in there. I'm a little bit interested in gambling girl, a horse that's been running against state bread competition, but a pricey state bread, a $200,000 daughter of dialed in has a couple of wins. The figs aren't there. And I think if Julia is shining, makes any sort of improvement offer first race. She's going to be a winner. Yeah, and she's going to probably be a winner at three to 5 or less, which does not really intrigue me as far as a betting standpoint, but if I'm playing horizontally, she certainly looks like the one to beat. As you said, figure why she doesn't stand out in this field. So if you're somebody like me who's saying, well, she looks like she's a little bit better, you know, what she ran first time out is a little bit better than what the other ones have run. You certainly wouldn't think about singling her at one to two. The problem is she's probably going to be better the further that she goes. And I think that's just a bonus that she won in her debut. The stretch out to two turns and a mile and an 8th being by kerlin out of an AP indie mayor and more importantly being a full sister to malachi seems like would be right up a rally. It's not a race I love simply because of the price, but more interested in watching and seeing what Julia shining does in the demoiselle. 7th race tomorrow at aqueduct on the other hand is the quarter $1 million grade two rems and the male counterpart to the demoiselle, if you will, two year olds going a mile in 8th here as well, 7 of them going to post and whereas we're going to have a heavy favorite in the demoiselle. I'm not sure who's going to be favored in the remson. It could be tuskegee airmen. It could be Arctic arrogance. Both of them ran very well in their most recent starts. Yeah, this is a 7 horse field and two of the competitors in here. Midnight trouble lost and lost pretty convincingly to tuskegee airmen last time out and number 6 quick to accuse his run credible races, but was beaten pretty convincingly by Arctic arrogance last time out. Unless you can find an excuse for one of those two, it really does seem to come down to the two favorites. I don't agree with the morning line tuskegee airmen is 8 to 5 Arctic arrogance is two to one. Tuskegee airmen has run probably the slightly faster race, but it came at Delaware park and the debut was at parks and this is of course that looks good and certainly may have a great future. I need to see it against this level of competition. Arctic arrogance has three races two wins. They've all come against New York State bred competition, but I trust Linda rice in spots like this. I thought the win in the sleepy hollow last time was really quality and Arctic arrogance at anything under two to one, not as the favorite two to one, 5 to two, three to one, something like that. I think would be really good. I think actually that the odds are going to be flipped. I think tuskegee airmen is going to be two to one Arctic arrogance that's going to be 7 to 5. But I think Arctic arrogance has the best opportunity to win. So do I and actually the horse that I'm most worried about is the horse on the outside W and L, W and L for Danny gargan and Jose Ortiz resounding win on a sloppy off the turf race at aqueduct early part of October. Not really bred to be better long than short being by good magic out of a forest wildcat mayor sounds a little bit more like sprint breeding than route reading to me. I know good magic himself was good around two turns, but his progeny seemed to be better sprinting than routing.

"All the action all weekend long. They're on FS two both tomorrow and Sunday tracks like aqueduct and like Churchill downs. 1130 a.m. to 6 30 p.m. tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 5 30 p.m. on Sunday. All right, David, as the show opened, we heard the stretch run of the 2011 edition of the grade one then called the shadwell turf mile, won by the very classy geo ponti and aqueduct has a race named in his honor going tomorrow. It's race number 7 on the card. Mile and a 16th on the outer turf purse of a $135,000. These are three year olds going to go the mile in a 16th distance. We've got ten of them entered one of them's main track only, so 9 will go, assuming this race stays on the turf. The morning line favored is number 8 steady on. And he certainly looks like a horse with a bright future. I was a little surprised he was laid the favor on the line. Yeah, I like steady on in here. And I was hoping, I don't know, 5 to two, three to one, 7 to two, something like that. The two to one morning line is not particularly appetizing. The bottom line is this Todd Fletcher Michael Vinny viola, $275,000 son of pioneer of the Nile, a repeat of the last race, is going to beat this group. Now, this is a step up. The horses run only three times, ran against a good one and did not run particularly well first time out, then stretched out to a mile on the turf at aqueduct and beat a maiden field relatively easily at 12 to one, and last time out facing winners for the first time in a kind of starter allowance race. One rather easily and ran very fast going a mile on this aqueduct turf. They extend out here to a mile in the 16th and if we see the same race or something like what we saw last time, steady on is going to be in the winter circle. That being said, there are a few others that interest me and I'm not thrilled with the morning lines, which probably means it's the right morning. Number two, grant sonata, another Todd pletcher horse, two races in a row back in July and August, just faced much, much better, grade one competition. The last two times out, a grade three event at Kentucky downs a grade two at aqueduct ran very well, and it continuation of that sort of form would put grants not right in the mix here, a little improvement in grand sonata probably wins this race. But again, steady on has that one really, really quick race. Grant sonata's three to one in the morning line doesn't fire me up all that much. Dakota gold for Danny garga number 6 is a horse that is kind of ingrained in my head when modern gains got a scratched out of the breeders cup juvenile turf towards the beginning of 2021. The breeders cup two ago at delmar when modern games was a non betting entry Dakota gold was the favorite, the one that all of us got, that that was really the only race Dakota gold has run poorly. Come back and run three state bread races one, two, miss the other by a head, goes back into open company here and Dakota gold has the right to improve and fits reasonably well with this group. I thought wicked fast number 5 might be great value in here. I was thinking something around ten to one, this might make or runner, this will be the second time in the maker barn is 6 to one in the morning line. Hasn't run maybe that a race, but has competitive figs with this group. Even number four O two three 5, you have some figs that would make sense and you can kind of put a line through the last one steadied at the Meadowlands. I think it's pretty open. I just think steady on is the biggest upside and a repeat of the last one's a winner. Okay, by the way, it's O2 O three 5. I think it's a Massachusetts zip code, by the way. I agree with what you say. I'm going to put Dakota gold on top because I think the morning live is inflated. Simply because he's a state bread facing open company. He's been running against New York breads his last few starts and he's been running very, very well. But as you pointed out, he's run pretty well against open company when he's been given the chance in the past. And to me, he's as good as anybody else in this field and you get 9 to two on the morning line. So Dakota gold for me, I know I rad probably at his choice between Dakota gold and steady on he chooses steady on, but I don't see much difference between these two runners. I'm going with the price to coat a gold for me in the Gio ponti race 7 tomorrow at aqueduct. Trump all the way across the country to del mar. They've got two stakes on their Saturday card, the first of which is the 7 furlong Desi Arnaz. These are two year old Phillies going to go 7 eighths of a mile on the main track 7 of them going to post here, Dave. And favoritism comes down to either number one just or the 6 blessed touch. Yeah, I think four of the 7 are going to get play two of them are trained by Bob Baffert, just deke is a John sheriff's very, very pricey two year old Philly out of justify who won a maiden race back in July, then laid off to early October and was kind of so so running third as the 6 to 5 favorite in a great two races work really, really quickly since then. I wrote down as I was handicapping this race that I thought just should be right around 9 to 5 at 8 to 5 I'm probably not going to bet, but that's about the right price, I think in here. Plus touch for Tim yak team just ran an incredibly fast race last time out of

"Like child said, am I she had one, but then they kept on replaying as replaying us. And I was like, oh my gosh, but no. It was great. And one last one from retired. Is it a little bittersweet with nest finishing fourth? I mean, you had two of the two from a lot of people standpoint in this race and one of them was going to have to lose. Yeah, I mean, that's the situation you're in. When you run more than one horse and a race. So nothing worked out well for nest today. She didn't jump well from the start. She was spinner wheels around the first turn and she was very wide all the way around and because she wasn't really in the position. We wanted to be irad, had to make a little bit of an move sooner than he wanted to and very wide while doing it. I was concerned when they hit the first term that it wouldn't go on her way today. What did Johnny say to you after the race? No, he was very excited, obviously. And I was just kidding and I said, you know, don't cut those so close too old for those type of finishes these days. But he showed why he's one of the greatest of all time. He's a big time performer on when it's the biggest prize. He shows up with a brilliant ride. Congratulations, shadwell stable, Todd Fletcher John Velazquez. And male fat for the breeders cup to staff. Thank you. Jill Byrne handling the press conference hosting duties doing a great job there. "All right, certainly a lot of stuff going on over at brisket. I want to remind everybody tomorrow another big day here on the network. First of all, betting with Bobby from four to 6 p.m. Eastern Time will be covering the live action from Saratoga, actually going to have four guests on with me at some point tomorrow. Juan leiva, former jockey currently the assistant trainer for John Sadler going to join me tomorrow afternoon to talk about flight line and his run this Saturday in the grade one Pacific classic trainer David dock going to join me as well tomorrow. He's got a pretty nice New York bread and fingal's cave who remains undefeated. He's also got two of the favorites in tomorrow's minor steak at Saratoga, the lucky coin. So talk about those horses as they get ready for a steak that goes at 5 O 5 Eastern Time. Aaron Bailey, the director of marketing at the delmar thoroughbred club. Gonna let us know what's actually going on on track this weekend if you happen to be out in Southern California. And Joe fiesel, a college football trader, the lead college football trader for Caesar's is going to join us in discuss some of the big college football games coming up this Saturday is this is the official opening weekend of college football. I know they've got some games tonight. They had a few games last weekend, but this weekend is the really the full slate and looking forward to hear what they've got going on over at Caesar's and maybe what trends, what the prices are on some of these big games coming up this weekend. And of course, the weekend takes preview as always 6 to 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday night's day freed man be back to join me tomorrow night. We're going to look at 13 races from around North America over the holiday weekend. We're actually just looking at 13 races from Saturday and Sunday because some of the races for Monday not drawn until tomorrow. So we're not going to have time to get all of that handicapping done, but lots of great Saratoga action, all the great delmar action, and some big races from Kentucky downs as well. All right, James, we're getting close to the end of the show, and I know we usually wait till the bitter and do this, but one of the more popular parts of these bris net dot com call in shows each week is your play of the week. It's not necessarily your best bet of the weekend, but it's a horse you're really looking forward to playing over the weekend. Where are we going, my friend? Bobby, we're going to Saratoga. Let me just say I respect Chris our caller earlier from New Jersey's opinions, but I'm going up against his tab of a first captain. I like keep me in mind a new face in the handicap crowd. Horse, I had a lot of juvenile class. I don't think he was ever right physically last year, came back with a really strong comeback ever, real wide trib, one in hand, big triple digit brisnet speed laid paste numbers. I think he moves forward off of that. Fits well against his crop group in the jockey club cold cup at 12 to one. Keep me in mind. I'll be bedding him, I'll have some money on the place and I'll actually key I'm a little bit in some vertical exotics in case he runs second or third. So keep me in mind in the jockey club gold cup, Bobby. All right, one of four Todd Fletcher trainees, and this is the newest of the pletcher trainees as he's only had him for that one start that allowance win last time at hard to believe that he was still eligible for that other than allowance condition that he ran in last time out. He was expected to run well, sent off at four to 5 and ran a very good race drawing away by some three links that afternoon as you mentioned, James. He's run against some of the best in the business and he is not disappointed in some of those showings, including missing by a half a length essential quality and horses like that and running against Medina Spirit and Ron Bauer and mask parade in midnight bourbon and the who's who of three year old class in the past. We'll see if keep me in mind can put it all together at a big price and run a good race in the jockey club gold cup. All right, so speaking of the jockey club gold cup. Is there anything that can happen out of this race on Saturday where you say this horse will be the first second or third choice in the breeders cup classic? No, no, I mean, I mean, well, I'll preface it with olympiad. Olympiad could be the third choice in the Raiders cup class. If he runs a big race, big race in victory, because his loan poor showing came in the Whitney and you could theoretically draw a line through that performance. So yeah, he might be the one in there, but I think he's up against it at ten for a long. I'm not keen on him at the distance and I don't think Saratoga is his best track either. I'm going to let him beat me in that race. I do think one thing real quick. Chad Brown, I thought it was interesting, and all those horses in the sword dancer traverse. Two of his best, I thought his best performers over the weekend. Jack Christopher, but good not all of them. I thought that Philly ran a huge race in the ballerina on Sunday, and she's really intriguing for the philia mayor sprint in my mind, Bobby.

"So I think you try to take bits and pieces from all of them and ultimately develop your own style and own organization. But I mean, the one thing that all of those guys had in common and the big part of their success is they were just there, they were at the bar and all day. Their early and stayed late and I remember the first day before I went to work for mister whittingham was stuck by the barn in the afternoon and said what time should I be here tomorrow and he said early? And so I showed up at like four 15 in the morning and he was already there. So just kind of tells you about the dedication level that they have. That's how we really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule. So happy for you and your team and all the success you've had, not only this year, but over the years and hope it continues, my friend. Thanks very much. I appreciate it. All right, Todd Fletcher Hall of Fame trainer, of course, won this year's Belmont stakes with Moderna. Actually, at the top two finishers, modale and nest, but he does not rest on his laurels. He moves forward. It has a lot of other big name runners in his stable that with plants throughout the year. You heard life as good as supposed to run next weekend in the John nehru over at Belmont park. He, of course, has corniche now in his barn. He's got plans for him coming up. Sounds like charge its back in training, pioneer pioneer Medina, be back in training shortly. He's got a big shot tomorrow in the mother goose as well. By the way, Todd pletcher 6 wins in the mother goose tied for the most all time with one of his previous employers, Wayne Lucas. So we'll see if he can break that tie if can get the job done in the grade two mother goose on Saturday at Belmont park. Okay, we are going to take our final time out when we come back. We owe you prices. I believe from both Monmouth and Belmont park. Phone lines are still open. If you'd like to call in, 888-966-4776 is the number. I'm also going to talk about a situation in handicapping that I think we all need to avoid and it's easier said than done. I'm not sure it's easy for all of us to do it and I know that I've fallen into the trap at times and that is watching out for the sucker bets. I'll explain more. This is betting with Bobby presented.

"So they're both going to beat me. Pop culture's one three Beaumont state. I think tomorrow he wins them before. I really like the Philly to do it. She's got the flight pedigree. She's a full sister to big cap when our idol. She's by curling out of an AT&T mass second, of course, was curling the riches, AT&T won the race. Wouldn't it be something if Todd Fletcher who beat Carlin would affiliate now wins it with a daughter of Carl and that would be some storyline. I think she's going to get a good trip. I think Jose Ortiz, who teamed up with Todd to win it with taproot in 2017, I think he'll keep her closer and she's ordinarily done. I can see her land second or third, depending on if any of the other long shots go. I think she could work out the right trip and modon ago almost makes too much sense, right? After the Derby draw from post one, if you got a hunger racing exorcist to sit down and write out a trip line to him, we've all come within 85% of what his trip line actually was. What is running line actually was? It makes it look like a better draw wins on the Derby. I don't think it would have, but he makes a lot of sense. He's logical is running style digital believe war ground area. He's got to write our keys and Todd in this one. Yeah, I'm wondering if I rad keeps him a lot closer to the pace than what people expect going the mile and a half. Obviously, he doesn't have to deal with the rail, but in 20 years like he did in The Kentucky Derby last time out. Really appreciate you taking the time, Anthony, aside from the Belmont stakes tomorrow, what's the one race? Not so much maybe you're looking at forward to betting, but the one ratio really looking forward to watching on tomorrow's card. And setting on speakers corner whipping up on flight line tomorrow in the hill and down that mile. I really think he's coming out of the bubble wrap and he's coming across the country and John Silva does not do well in these situations historically. I think speakers corner is the best one more certain one turn horse in the country. I think he's going to take it the flight line on a big way tomorrow afternoon. All right, Anthony used to be from the New York racing association. Thank you so much for joining us today. We know you got a big weekend. Best of luck to my friend, especially if we're on the same horses. Great to be back to talk to you guys soon. Thanks, Bobby. All right, Anthony loves speakers corner in the Met mild tomorrow. He thinks Todd pletcher is going to win the Belmont stakes. He likes the Philly nest on top, but it sounds like he respects mo dog and we'll use that one as well. Gave you some selections in today's stakes going on as well. We're going to take another break. When we come back, we owe you prices from the 7th race at Belmont park, and we're going to look forward to the first of three stakes that we're going to cover on today's card, the grade two $400,000 Belmont gold cup for the four year olds and up going two miles. You heard it correctly. Two miles on the turf, they're just 13 minutes away from post time. This is betting with Bobby presented.

"It's another low scoring affair. Yeah, I like the lightning on the puck line, just like I did in game 5 and it worked out the way that I thought it would at Madison Square Garden. They had a late two one lead, just darken gets pulled, they get the empty netter, win by two goals. That was at plus two O 5 on the road. Obviously, it's a steeper price on the puck line at home at plus one 55, but I see a similar type of game script here. I think it's going to be a late one goal lead, maybe a two goal lead, a sturgeon is going to get pulled and we'll get an empty netter to win by two or three. Tampa Bay has outscored the rangers 9 two over the last 7 periods that's the third period of game three game four and game 5. So 9 two over the last 7 periods all wins by the Tampa Bay lightning, they are just the better team. I think the rangers are going to be mentally and physically exhausted from losing that two O series lead in bow out and kind of a whimper in game 6 down in Tampa. UFC two 75 in Singapore on Saturday, main event Joe, I like Yuri, I'm laying the juice, launching keeps us upright. I think you should be just fine. You're just going to go with the first name there, huh? Yeah. And shout out to John anic because I went on YouTube and I was watching all of these. I wouldn't say the full fights, just the introduction. So I'd be able to pronounce it today. I like that fight going under two and a half rounds. It's minus one 70, so you're going to lay a little bit of juice. As I make the joke about you and then I go ahead and botch it myself. His path to victory is going to be to end this quick. The deeper you get into the water with over to chera, the more he's going to be able to process information, the more he's going to be able to see what you're doing, the more he's going to be able to take advantage of that. And pro Hoskins last 18 pro fights, only a couple of which have been in the UFC, only one has made it to the third round. I think this is a short fight. I'd go under two and a half rounds. Again, though it is minus one 70. Okay. Belmont stakes as well. Not as much luster because we don't have a Triple Crown candidate here. I talked to a couple of horse guys that I really respect and one was offered a lot more than he normally does. And so I was excited about that. And of course, I'm looking for it right now and I don't have my notes in front of me. I'll throw a name out there. I'll come back. We're on the same horse. So go ahead. Creative minister. Yes. And for similar reasons like you, I talked to someone who knows about this, they said they like creative minister, I said thank you. I then passed it along to the daily wager crew and right here on the podcast, I have literally nothing else to offer you other than this person knows horse racing. So here it is. Speed races speak figures have been proved every single race. He had a slight trip in the last race, the Preakness, but he still finished third. There's just a lot to like, and he's a good pedigree as well. And so at 5 to one 6 to one, he's worth a play in a lot of ways. I guess the longest shot then that we offer up here is my Philly nest at 8 to one and again, here's the handicap in here. Read a Washington Post article that says, that is the granddaughter of mister prospector, who I'm told, his male descendants have won 15 Belmont since 1990, Ness maternal grand sire is AP Indy who at three years old won the Belmont in 1992, Todd Fletcher's a trainer we love, so we have mail Belmont winter winners on both the maternal and fraternal side for this particular Philly, and I like a lady on Friday, okay? At 8 to one as well. So I'll go with nest. Not the prospector, Will Ferrell characters out of my life. Okay, so that's gonna do it for this. Enjoy your weekend, everyone. We may not have another show until after the NBA Finals is over. Possibly our next show TV wise is Tuesday and the game series could end Monday and game 5 in San Francisco. So best of luck this weekend, enjoy it all. Enjoy all these sports action. We'll see you back here next week..

"John embryo with the call of the wood memorial at aqueduct modano a huge effort that day for trainer Todd Fletcher. You heard John say that he took the reps in there and his two year old season comes back and wins as a three year old as well and he will break from the rail coming up on Saturday afternoon and this year's run for the roses. Todd pletcher talked to me earlier this week and he did say he thought early on, mowed down ago could be pretty good. You know, he's a promising cold from the beginning. Ran well in his debut sprinting, which is clearly not what he wants to do, but really finished up well, came back and was able to land in his second start and then when the rims that are the mile already two year old gives you high hopes. Stretching out to my own a quarter is hopefully really going to want to do. What I was most impressed about in this wood memorial wind was he closed the final quarter in 23 and two fifths, which is very difficult for any horse to do, especially a young three year old in aqueduct, which can be in a demanding surface. So really, really pleased with that. And also should some real professionalism taking dirt and weaving his way through traffic and like we talked about finding that acceleration when it seemed to open. So I'd love to love this race there. Come back and trade well so far so we're excited about his running style coming from off the pace like that. Usually isn't the formula for winning The Kentucky Derby. But it certainly happens. But it's not normally the case because horses have to weave their way through so much traffic. Would you rather have a horse that likes to be forwardly placed or are you okay with a horse that comes from behind if he has this kind of talent? Well, I think the one thing we've seen with the point system is the pace in areas changed a bit and I think it's favored horses with tactical speed more so than the old system, the gradient stake system seemed like you'd get more sprinters taking a shot and trying to stretch out, which was creating a faster pace and probably helping the closers more than the current system. But the one encouraging thing from O'Donnell is the fractions weren't real fast in the wood memorial and he was still able to close. So we'll just hope he's tactical enough that there's not a real good pace up front that he'll be able to find his way into a decent spot. That was Todd pletcher talking about modon ago one of three hopefuls he's got in this Saturday's run for the roses, Bobby Newman, Jude felt..

"Well, George, you said that you were trying not to cry after that race. You said cowboys don't cry. Well, that's an emotional moment there. What was going through your mind as you were listening to the stretch call here coming out of the commercial break? It still gives you chills and goosebumps. You know, it's always it's through a limit here to call any time every time a year is never gets old. The other cool thing about your story is that you're getting to do this with your family beside you. I mentioned your wife Isabelle, but when you got to del mar at the breeders cup, you had your brother and your two sons that came from Louisiana to be with you. How special is that? That was great, you know, my sister was also very sister, my two brothers, and my two boys, nothing like your family. I have another brother he would have came, but he had surgery at trash hub surgery for broca tricep. He would have came and all of them would have been there, but nothing like your family, I was so honored to have my family come and support me in the biggest race of my life. Are they involved in racing in any way? My second brother has a couple horses. My other two brothers know they're not involved in a race and almost history. Do you train those horses for your brother? No, my brother trains his own horses. He's got a few horses. You've got a job like we always did growing up. He's got a job and at the work she does a couple of horses in need. I want to talk about more of your early days and growing up in Louisiana. But before I do, there was an article that the LA times did about you this past week. And one quote you had in there, you said, I'm not a trailblazer. I'd rather be a role model and be known more for my hard work than my nationality. It shows that anybody through hard work can get lucky and make it. You, George are the first African born black trainer ever to enter a horse in the breeders cup. Talk about what that means for you personally. Personally, you know, I'm honored, you know, and I've played to be recognized, but I guess you know it's more like to be recognized for the hard work that did to get here, you know, the nationalities, one thing, but it was the hard work and luck of getting here, you know, doing the right things and working hard and getting a break to get here. Yes, in California, angel provided you with that break. But you mentioned hard work. And I talk about this a lot on this program, George. Whether you're Todd Fletcher or your Steve asthma or your Belmont or whoever, Brad Cox, it doesn't matter. Anybody that's at the top of this game, you don't get there without working your tail off. And I've had Bill mat tell me that there was a time when his horses weren't good enough to get stalls at very minor racetracks. They wouldn't even give him stalls. People don't think about Belmont Todd Fletcher Steve asks, and those folks in that light, but everybody has to start somewhere. Talk about the hard work you put in. Well, it's a 24/7 job in order to job 7 days a week. When things are good on the top of the world, but just that quick things can go down and you have so many problems. I was explaining to somebody the other day, you know, you never hear that John Doe is a really good trainer, but he's got bad help. You know, his origin not running because he got bad help. You had to top your responsible for everything and everybody. Everybody in your operation. So, you know, it's stressful. That's why when you win and things are good, you know, you smile and enjoy it because you know to go out to get there and it's a job that's timeless. There's a lot of time involved in being horse cream your phone rings you have to stay on top of so many things, keeping up with everything and when it's good, that's why you smile and enjoy it when things are good because you know it's a lot to get there. You know in sports will often hear that a coach is only as good as his players. But I think it goes both ways. With a horse trainer, is a trainer only as good as the horses that he has in his barn, George? 90%. I mean, you can't take a bad horse and given to somebody that can't train and then make him run. It doesn't have athletic ability to nothing you can do to fix that. You're only as good as the stock you have is like you were saying earlier when mister March said you didn't have horse good enough to get stables on the places. As a trainer you had to put your horses at a race track where you can compete a little bit and then the big races that you don't have the horses to be able to compete there. So that has to be part of the game, part of being a training is knowing where your horses fit in, put them in the right places where you can win races with the right tracks. Yeah, there's a lot more to it than just putting the saddle on the horse and giving the jockey a lot easier than it really is and looks very simple just run them around the track and put them in a race and run them at that simple. Yeah, now as they say, if it was easy, everyone would do it, right? That's right. Yeah, 100%. I mentioned you grew up in Elton, Louisiana. Now last I checked, the population in Elton Louisiana was about 1300 people. I don't know, it's roughly 1300. Tell me more about Elton. There's a little small community where there's lots of farmers. They form rice. We have a couple of rice drivers as far as the rice and put the rice and dryers and it's a pretty much of a farm town. They are a little small school and everybody was friendly. Just nice for a new town. Like country life is a rule very rural. We have one store in town,.

"Our poll question on our social media pages this morning is who should win the eclipse award for champion trainer of 2021? And you just mentioned Steve asthma, and the Hall of Famer is certainly among the candidates that could win. Brad Cox, Steve asthma, and Todd Fletcher and Chad Brown are the four choices that I gave to people, which way you leaning there. Well, I would give it to Brad Cox. He just, I think, in totality, he had the best year and part of it is winning winning big races. And yes, Steve won, of course, one of the juvenile Phillies would that go Zulu and she had a tremendous campaign and is going to be a worthy champion, but it's hard to argue with the Belmont. The Travers, the Haskell and all the other races in between, even though the high school was viewed as qualification. It's just goes to show you that Brad Cox is stable has come a long, long way. I still have people look at me like I couldn't possibly be right when I tell them that the guy got his first grade one win in 2018. Yeah. So it's been a really fast trip to the top. So we'll see if he can hold it up. But yeah, I would give him a knot over asimo. And of course, I think anybody supporting Steve Adams is certainly has every right to. I think he had a tremendous year, including that really good moment, Saratoga breaking the wind total and there's obviously plenty more wins out there. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. Maybe a Houston ladies classic in his future as well. We're 22 days away from the Houston racing festival and it's going to be fantastic. I believe there are 6 stakes races a couple of greatest stakes on that program. So Mark your calendar that you'll want to be tuned in and locked into Nick Tamara and the team down at Sam Houston on that day. You know, I had a listener, Nick, just to throw this out there, because I was going to do it the next segment anyway. But I had a listener replied to that question and say, how about Charlie Applebee? You know, you look at what he did this year, winning 9 of his 18 starts, all grade ones with the exception of the jockey club Derby. 5.8 plus $1 million in earnings is what this listener points out. You know, I guess Charlie Applebee is he won't get it. He won't be in the discussion here, but you've certainly could make a case. You really can. It's amazing what he did with just a really limited number of starters and you want to talk about guys that have American racing figured out. I don't think Charlie Applebee will start a horse that isn't favored in 2022. The only opportunity will be when he starts multiple horses, right? So no, he was incredible. And what he had deer did and all of the big performances from altica and of course remembering that in alticus two wins, his other horse finished second. So, I mean, he just he was incredibly good from start to finish. And so, yeah, I'm very intrigued by courses we could see come over here in 2022. One of the horses that scratched it to gate, well, the horse that really scratched it to Kate in the juvenile turf is a gelded. So we'll see him over here at some point in the future as well. And we'll see if he can keep up the street because yeah, it was incredible. I mean, obviously, he won't win it, but I certainly think he should Garner a vote or two. Yeah. Nick Tamara ladies and gentlemen announce her at Sam Houston. Nick listen, appreciate the visit here this morning. Thanks for talking some racing and looking ahead to the rest of the meat. I'm sure we'll catch up again when we get closer to that Houston ladies classic. That sounds great, Mike, the pleasure was all mine. All right, Nick Tamara here on the horse racing radio network. "A Pennsylvania Derby that hot rod Charlie would have beat him that day because he ran such a huge race, but that did not happen and he beat the stuff in that of him in the British cup classic. He was much better than him. Yeah, actually, hot rod Charlie is a horse I liked a little bit in the breeders cup classic and I was disappointed that he came he kind of came up empty the last quarter of a mile. And not to say that he should have gone and gotten Nick's go. But the fact that he was outrun by both essential quality and Medina Spirit pretty easily in that last quarter of a mile, I thought was a little bit disappointing, but he's obviously a very good horse, and we're nitpicking right now at the best horses in the world. But it's been an interesting week. It's been more sad than good this week between Medina spirits untimely passing. The rough riding of Iraq or ts and him getting suspended 30 days. By the way, I thought it was speaking of Ortiz, I thought it was very interesting that his brother Jose decided to remain in New York all winter. The person is obviously a tremendous there at aqueduct. Even in the winter time and I would think he is head and shoulders the favorite to be the leading writer at that winter meet at aqueduct. But if I'm not, if I'm not mistaken James, this will be the first Gulfstream meat in a while that Jose Ortiz Joel Rosario and John Velazquez will not regularly be riding. Yeah, that is. That's amazing. I mean, that's remarkable. And I know that Kendrick Carmouche and Dylan Davis and others were disappointed to see Jose announced that because they were looking forward to not having to deal with him. Right. Well, I mean, Kendrick Carmouche and Eric can't sell, we're in a nip and tuck battle all the way to closing day of the winter meat last night and I think can't sell had like a phenomenal weekend and caught him right on the last day after Kendrick was winning leading most of the way. And now they're going to have to deal with Jose Ortiz, who is going to ride all the Chad Brown horses that are still there and ride a lot of the Todd Fletcher horses that are still there. And it's going to be tough on them. But the money talks and there's a lot of money year round in New York and if you can deal with the cold weather, why not? James it's been another fun edition my friend look forward to speaking with you next week. All right, Seth will do. Talk to you later. "Let's do fuski island. I went to the favorite senbei. I think even if the others improve they're going to have to really improve to beat them. That doesn't mean he can't get beat. But I like the fact that he showed that he doesn't have to have the lead to still when he had been going to the lead the first three starts of his career last time out. He stalked the pace and one of those New York breeders futurity races up at finger lakes went by and powered away to a very impressive win. I think he's getting better and better for Christophe clemont and Manny Franco who's been aboard for all of his starts once again will be aboard Sunday in the notebook send bay for me, daufuskie island for bob in the $100,000 notebook race three on the Sunday card at aqueduct. We're going to jump forward all the way to the 9th race on the Sunday card at aqueduct and their co featured event is the $100,000 key sense. These are New York bread, two year old Phillies going 6 furlongs on the main track. We've got a field of 8 here, and another race where it's really tough to figure out who you're going to want to take a stand with. Because you've got some runners here that are coming off gigantic wins, like Cupid's heart, like classy edition. Then you have number 7 making my move who was so impressive in her debut and really didn't run poorly trying the turf in the grade three matron last time out. Some other up and comers were Jan bob. On the 6 class edition, who, I think, the morning Einstein to 5, and I think she'll go off much shorter than that. I think she's the kind of New York bread that will probably be looking for open company when she had a magic she's going to Gulfstream park. She's one really easily and she's shown a lot of ability and are two stars, including last time in her stakes debut on the mud at Belmont, and to me she's just a really, really talented two year old Philly from the pleasure bar, and I expect her to have a big say and what happens next year with the three year old Phillies at Gulfstream. See, now you think she's going to go to Gulfstream. I think the purses are so good for the New York breads, and let's face it, the competition in the wintertime in New York is not quite what it is in the winter time at Gulfstream park. I would not be surprised if she stays in New York all year. Todd Fletcher, you know, the bulk of his runners are going to be in South Florida. He always keeps a string in New York. He'll shuttle some back and forth. So I would not be surprised if for now they stick with that money against New York breads and keep her there. I have nothing bad to say. I wouldn't be surprised either if you're correct, but I just think she might be pretty high up the pecking order in the pletcher barn, and I do expect the 8 sees a wild joker the daughter of practical joke is not a great first season to run a better race. I think she'll hit the board of the big price. Okay, so bob likes the favorite number 6 classy addition thinks number H use a wild joker is an interesting one to at least be underneath in that spot. I had a tough time deciding between number 5 qubits, number 6 classy edition number 7, making my move. Very slight push to the 7, making my move, she was great in her career debut in one of those tough maiden special weight events up at Saratoga and she just dumped truck the field that day. Winning by a dozen links they liked her enough that they tried her in the grade three matron sprinting on the turf in her next start, and she tried to, you know, she not only tried to surface she had never tried. She tried tougher competition than what she had seen before. And she wasn't able to get the lead in that race. And she still ran pretty well. She ran forth only beaten the length and a half Philly was just in front of her mystic eyes, came back in one in her next start. I happen to think that making my move will be better on the dirt than she was on the turf, now facing winners for the second time getting back to what I think will be her preferred surface. I'm going to put her on top. Plus, I think she'll be in front of Cupid's heart and classy edition. They will have to pass her at some point if they want to get the win. So I'm going to take number 7 making my move on top. If I'm playing horizontally, I'm using all three. Cupid's heart classy edition, making my move, making my move, though on top for me, a number 6 classy edition on top for buy race number 9 Sunday at aqueduct the $100,000 key cents for the New York bred two year old Phillies, sprinting 6 furlongs. We're going to take our final break. When we come back, we'll continue to look at the Sunday action. "We heard that glass slippers rejoin. She was a long shot winter last year at odds of ten to one. She's 6 to one on the morning line in this year's renewal. Her stablemate emirati Anna drawn just outside of her 5 to one in the wagering golden pal for Wesley ward figures to be the favorite in here and just for the most part, he's a win machine. Golden Powell was so impressive in the Woodford at keeneland. I mean, looking at the running line, a two and a quarter length victory over extravagant kid doesn't tell the story at all. It was like golden Powell got shot out of a cannon, the last quarter of a mile just absolutely ran away from what I thought was a pretty good group of horses. I like golden pal. I am very seriously considering playing golden Powell in some manner or facet. But at 7 to two, against a pretty darn good field, I think there are other better values. I like Kumari, but you know I don't like Philly's against the boys and her last two wins came against girls. Now you go back to that race and ascot in 2020, the Commonwealth cup, it was really, really good. I love how versatile Kumari is, but I did end up with emirati Ana. I just thought that an older guy facing younger girls and her last three races are huge in Europe. Two wins and a second place against winter power who I think would be the favorite in this race. Emirati Anna for me, but I don't think it's anywhere close to straightforward or just picking one of them. I think you need several. I think you need several as well, and I respect every horse that you mentioned. There are several others in the race that I think have big chances as well. Gear jockey isn't great form, fast boat, extravagant kid, have some races that would certainly make them dangerous in these spots. I am going to go with the quote unquote other Wesley ward, the Philly Kumari to beat the boys. I've said it all many, many times. They've turf sprints are not my forte. They are not my favorite races. So I'm picking kamari on top, make no bones about it. I'm using a lot of them in this race. But she's proven against the boys as just as well as the girls. I like the fact that she can show speed or stock the pace. I trust in Joelle Rosario. I'm going to put Kumari on top to fire off the layoff. She's done it before. Kamari for me in the turf sprint, but to be perfectly honest, there are about ten of them in this race that I think really have a chance to win. Kemari is the one I'm going to put on top in the turf sprint. Race 6 on tomorrow's card is the big ass fans, breeders cup dirt mile. I just can't resist saying that sponsor's name. $1 million on the line, a two turn dirt mile here at del mar a conventional dirt mile if you will. We're going to have another short price because the Todd Fletcher trainee life is good, four to 5 on the morning line. Looks like he'll be closer to one to two. Yeah. And again, a little bit like demean, I don't think this race came up extremely tough. Life was good started in the Bob Baffert barn when some of the stuff came out about him around The Kentucky Derby, Todd pletcher took over. It would be ironic if Bob Baffert's 8 rings could compete or beat life is good. I'm a silver state fan, 7 to two doesn't interest me at all. If you gave me 5 6 to one on silver state, I would certainly give him an opportunity to beat life is good. But life is good was gonna be The Kentucky Derby favorite last year before getting injured 5 races. The only loss against Jackie's warrior in a race that I don't know maybe Mike Smith could have done a better job, Mike Smith lost the mount on life is good that was after a very, very long layoff. I think life is good is an extremely classy extremely high quality horse in excellent form. And I see no reason to bet against. Okay, I completely respect life as good, I think he's one of the best horses in the country. I was not impressed with his Kelso when I thought he faced nothing that day. It was a very short field. He beat them like he was supposed to he was one to 20, and it was he just roamed around there. I was not impressed with him getting beaten by Jackie's warrior getting caught by Jackie's warrior. I don't think you should be getting caught by Jackie's warrior. If your life is good, when you're leading going 7 furlongs and he drifted out in a stretch and Mike Smith took a lot of flack for it. And that may be the reason that he didn't ride him back in the Kelso. I don't know. Life is good is very, very good. I think there's other speed in there. I think number four Jasper prints is interesting. From what I'm told his good races in Japan are very, very good. I'm going to try number one silver state. I don't think his good races are as good as life as goods, good races, but I think there could be pace in the race, and I think he's going to be overlooked. So I'm going to put silver state on top. I'm actually going to use one's fours and 5s just pressing the ones in the 5s in that spot. But hoping that the pace is there that may be silver state has a chance to run down life as good and cause the minor upset in the breeders cup dirt mile. We're going to take another break. When we come back, we'll look at more of tomorrow's action, including the villian merit turf. The sprint and the mile. "He feels Essential quality ran the best race that they have the tracking data right that they monitor how much ground a horse loses during the course of a race and the essential quality was wide on the first term wide on the farts and lost about 68 ft. Which translates to about seven or eight length that that's what the math says. It's a little bit different, because we know that that's mean courses are going to lose ground in races. Are you good enough? Overcome it. I think most of us believe the central quality was fast enough to win the Kentucky Derby. He was undefeated a champion in the favor for reason, but he wasn't Justify flash American pharaoh could enough to overcome a wide wide trip he bumped. Rocked your world, by the way. Don't sleep on rocks Your world in the Belmont Stakes. He was absolutely eliminated at the start of the Kentucky Derby. I might go back to that well again to the Belmont has six years to make up my mind, but they better trip. And without losing that ground, Essential quality could not saying he wins. I'm saying it's closer and that quote just I keep Are getting back to that In the first time I I was told that and I heard him discuss it on the radio show, and I've read it that this Yeah, it's like the first or second time. Breathe, he said. That's that's the Belmont Stakes at the Belmont Stakes Horse, So it's a big opportunity for for essential quality tea. Yeah. Essential quality will be the morning line favorite. And I'm guessing the post time favorite favorites. There are boring the bet and tout so why not, you know, dig a little bit and reached its the third and final leg of the Triple Crown as we mentioned the wide open nature. Rocky world. Again. He broke Very sluggishly, leaving the gate in the Derby. This is a horse. We went wire to wire in the Santa Anita Derby. He was faster than Medina spirit and got in front of Medina Spirit and the Santa Anita Derby with the clean break. Why wouldn't he have been in front of millions of spirits? In the Kentucky Derby. He got pinched. Joel Rosario lost his losses. Iron, his foot fell out of the iron when he got bumped, leaving the gates lost all chance. Rock your world, people think that a mile and a half the distance is farther. You want a closer? No. The Belmont Stakes is typically one by a gala for high cruising speed. Horses get closer. The pace, Rocky Road on paper, probably the pace setter and and just don't sleep on Todd Fletcher in the Belmont Stakes along with the three wins, I believe this five. Second place finishes could be wrong with 545. He's running three horses known agenda coming out of the Kentucky Derby, where he was again big disappointment. The Florida Derby winner. I rather Ortiz. If you get a chance, go back and watch the 2016 Belmont Stakes rhetoric teaches only Triple Crown win one of the best rides I have ever seen. In a Triple Crown race, certainly in recent memory with creator It was a big field. He was a closer And If known agenda is going to be successful in the Belmont Stakes. He's going to need that time of ride you've seen I read her teeth, do it before do it in the past, so I think that with enough pace Unknown agenda who has been again training well and how good pleasure is with the horses Running the Derby, the Preakness run back in the Belmont.
