"Had their our own individual mutant powers and in theory and at least in the comics. What set at this point is that this caused David to become autistic? This is bad brain science and also bad social description so we glossed as someone who proudly holds a very industy sixteen year old bachelors in psychology. Yeah that's really not the way brains work at all but you know it was marvel in the eighties so there you go. Oh and and also there is a long if he history of depictions of mental. Listen Superhero Comics. If you haven't I would recommend going back and listening to the episode where we discussed Legion with Cy. Spurrier who who wrote the characters most recent Solo Series on where we talk among other things a lot about the depiction could've vacation of mental illness surrounding him. After the part we just mentioned where Legion killed. Destiny the whole shadow king thing came to a head and David was left comatose which is still as current state. This was was pretty much the end of freedom force along with a couple other deaths and some general arguments that after the entire team had effectively self-destructed doctor Valerie Cooper. Their government liaison recruited ex factor as their successors figuring that maybe she should try recruiting a team of Mutant superheroes rather than super villains if she wanted to work for the government. Hindsight is twenty twenty shortly thereafter Due to a long series of weird incidence and lack of communication forge took Kover as factors government liaison. So that's two x factor government liaisons with histories with Mystique and probably alive mystique with unfinished. Just business with Legion and we will take it from there into X.. Factor number one. Oh eight promised. Vengeance plotted by John Francis more scripted by TODD DISALVO PENCILED BY GENDER CEMENT INKED BY AL Noman colored by Glenis Oliver and John Francis Moore. We've seen a whole lot of him. I think we I talked about one of his books with the X men and Phoenix miniseries. Didn't he also right Wolverine Killing. I think maybe that was him to yeah. That was that was pretty good. That was tremendously. Good he's going to be the regular x factor writer post age of apocalypse now for the most part at least in the large books. What we've seen is roughly the breakdown we've got here which is more on plots disalvo scripting? Yeah and design scripts not so big on diplotic in these issues like they. They feel a little bit filler. Even for something. That's clearly leading up to something big but the script is really fun especially Goes version of strong guy is delightful. Yeah he's got a lot of the same self-referentially humor as Peter. David strong I did but I find this guy like goes much more in general also talking thing about creators who are going to be a big deal with the x men going forward Steve. Editing does the cover. which is this beautiful piece of very solemn ice cold looking mystique with her arms crossed over her chest holding a gun and this background of skulls various sizes to the side like I would have a poster of that would be scary poster so I probably wouldn't put it in like my bedroom or something thing but I would totally have a poster of that? Oh man can you imagine like having mystique at up misty poster. Watch you sleep. Oh man and then you wake up from a nightmare and you look over and it's like sunfire fire or something instead and you're like wait a minute. No it's just her and she's just like judging you mystique does judge there were four things. Mystique is good at. What about international international espionage man five things five things that anyway mystique is highly skilled so in the actual comic we we start with forge nightcrawlers and rogue watching rogues very painful memory using one of those machines that I love and comics were like they can projects the memories or thoughts of a person Persson onto a screen in front of everybody else it basically turns the plot of a comic into a comic? They're such a cheap device will. Yeah that's why everybody can afford or to use them. In all those scenes they cost like two bucks. I don't know man I I would believe it if if they said you know the X.. Men had the equivalent of body cams camps or something. I would be fine with that. That would make sense or like onboard recorders on all of their vehicles. This is a little silly. I mean it's forge. If there's a machine that you can describe as a little silly he probably made it. Oh that is a really excellent point actually much more okay with it given that forge is the guy operating it and presumably who built it. I'm a little less happy with the idea that readily available to anyone that can be real awkward so the awkward scene. We're seeing right now is in fact the ending to X.. axeman limited number four the one where after revealing that she was everybody's mom mystique seemingly died and apparently in comics time. It's only been a few months since that. Yeah I I've tried to think about how comics timelines up and the fact is it just doesn't so I don't worry about it too much these days. Repeat it to yourself. It's just a show. I should really just relax. Forges take is that mystique may be alive. I think is evidence probably largely includes. It's a comic book and we didn't see a body honestly even if we did she'd probably still be alive plus again. She's done exactly this before I cannot the F. decides that enough I also do appreciate that. A lot of previous continuity is being pulled in here like I may not overall big on the plots of the individual visual issues. But the fact is John Francis Moore and whoever else was working with him on the plot aspect is bringing in a ton of relevant stuff so the fact that mystique after destiny died died was acting mentally stable and forged took her in and trained her to be more on top of her powers and try to help her figure the identity was like he brings in the fact now that he's pretty sure that was just her setting the world up for her seeming like she might do something irrational and Off The cuff. Like you know falling down a waterfall to save people. You wouldn't think she would save like I enjoy that four. She's the plane continuity detective as much as we are and I one hundred percent by that in terms.

"Inexorably inevitably one one cell at a time. If need be that is fucking chilling. Not Afford it's not Ford's into it. Yeah yeah whether it's the technic exposure or his powers like we were saying he thinks this is Kinda beautiful but this narration works and I think this is doing his best to take a story. Worry that doesn't fully work and to just make many elements of it work as possible. Meanwhile back in France which I get to say entirely elite relevantly now which is a rare rare event. Meanwhile back in France exhibitor reports to the assembled teams that well bench. His team and CYCLOPS OPS. This team are doing their own things. And they're doing well but they think the Phalanx are just a threat to mutants which means it's up to this ragtag band of heroes to save the Earth so they split the combined teams into the more powerful team is going to stay here in France to protect Moya as she researches fouling stuff and the sneakier team is going to go off to Switzerland Richland to meet up with Doug Lock and help him defeat the Phalanx. Well assuming that Doug Lock wants to our can. They're still a little unsure of his motives but Doug Lock does have a plan. He's GonNa techno organically infect cannonball and Wolf Spain and of course he's already done to forge so that they can all stealth into the Phalanxes is base. The aforementioned Babel spire and this is weird because Doug Lock is kind of cavalier about this and yes ammon rainer a little scared but it's not presented as that big of a deal back in the day when warlock used to merge with Doug it was like this terrifying threat and is beautiful intimacy every every time and now it's just sort of met. This is what we need to do right right now is it. Just the stakes. Being raised is power creep. I don't know there are a couple options. I can see here. One is that that previous previous contexts context is supposed to make us see it as a bigger deal than it's presented as here like that's supposed to give us the context that this comic doesn't the other possibility and the more plausible I think is that when warlock and Doug were merging they really. She didn't know what they were doing. Are about the potential outcomes of it. This is a doug lock who is aware of all of the layers of Phalanx links research. That have happened since including the fact that it can't affectively bond with mutants. That's actually a very good point and the Phalanx is not the same as warlock so it does have slightly different mechanics so yeah fair enough. Well it works just like the Zombie impersonations in Shaun of the dead. They do manage to sneak through all the Phalanx. But it's too late because has the Babel spire bursts out of the ground this Rocky Mechanical Techno Organic tendrils of wires and windows towers and pods and again. It looks awesome awesome. Daniel does this stuff so well. I'm you learned from Doug what's GonNa Happen with all this. So the purpose of the Babel Davos Tower. The Babel spire is to signal the technology to tell them the Phalanx is ready and wants to merge with them and that the earth is ready to be consumed and to become part of the interplanetary failings network. Yeah or the interplanetary technopark network and remember the technology that's like warlocks dad. Megan I guess. That's the techno organic entities that do this sort of thing. They're just terrifying these enormous monsters throughout the galaxy so this is even worse than we thought things were for before it's a legit terrifying solid premise. Which is why the fact that life signs is just sort of slow and boring that much more sad? Here's the other thing that got me about that. The last time we saw the techno organic virus present a really really imminent really substantial trap was when it took gopher limbo and one of the things that the representations of the Babel spire incredibly effectively is a folk the imagery from of inferno and I. It was really hoping that we'd get more call back to that. We'd get at least some reference and it's just not there. Yeah or maybe like the comet could cut out to space to the technology technology doing unsteady stuff and that without a sense of stakes. But what can you do. That brings us to the final issue of life signs. Thankfully the light of a tainted on on the six caliber number. Eighty two plotted by Scott loved L.. Scripted by Todd Disalvo by Ken. Lashley and Stephen Opting inks by Philip Morris or con Harry Candelaria W.. So you see Karani. John Floyd and John Lipsey colored by Chris. Matthews two pencils in five inkers will that seems like a good sign to me Uh on.

"So miles all of this. Techno Organic Humphry. woolery has me thinking about ship. What warlock doug no no not shipping being ship proper noun apocalypse is former digs Boji X.? Factors friendly central headquarters cables buddy professor. I've been wondering hearing about that. Actually I know ship sent to the future with cable. But doesn't that mean it should have been around during the adventures of cyclops and Phoenix. Well yes and no ship did come to the future with cable but for years everyone assumed it had been destroyed or lost in transit. So how did they reunite well. They didn't exactly reunite but ship is definitely professor right cables. Ai Buddy. Oh absolutely. But they didn't reunite because they were never actually separated in fact you could say that that particular friendship was inside cable all along long so he just had to believe but no no ship was literally embedded in his chest. I'm Jay added and and and I'm miles stokes and we are here to explain the X. Men because it's about time someone did welcome to episode two hundred seventy two of John Miles else. Explain the X.. Men where we walk you through the INS the outs and direct cons of comics greatest superhero soap opera and welcome back to the Phalanx Covenant. But I there is an important Morton. podcast order of business. We have to address. It's true it was even in our notes for last episode but we we somehow did not hit on it which is probably just as well since we ran overtime. Mm Yes so jay when you and Shawn and were talking in the episode that you did while I was in New York comecon you talked about a number of important factors but none more important than and your opinions on candy corn which is delicious. And I know I'm going to court controversy by saying this but I completely agree. This podcast is unanimous. It's love of candy corn. I know a lot of people despise it. That's a valid opinion but our opinions our own. Jay what's your favorite kind of candy. Corn Oh man so I like Oh gee candy corn a lot but my very favorite kind. Is You know the mixed like fall treat bags. Oh Yeah they have the candy corn thin like the Little Pumpkins and the candy corn on a couple of different colors colors. I like the Brown version of the candy corn. Those are really good. I like those a lot too but my personal favorites are actually the Pumpkins you just mentioned. I think they're kind of the same flavor but just having them be bigger. And rounder means. There's more of that satisfying texture that I love so much alternately for me there's a big beggars can't be choosers dimension to it too because I've found ever to brands of candy corn maybe sometimes that aren't co processed with peanuts and their availability is sporadic radic and limited. So usually it's my favorite is whichever one I can get entirely reasonable and speaking of entities seized probably would assimilate candy corn if they could The Phalanx we are in the middle episode of our coverage of the Phalanx Covenant as we mentioned last time the Phalanx Covenant is divided into three simultaneous stories generation next life signs and final sanction. And today we're GONNA be talking about life signs. This is is one of those times when I really wish that I were more familiar with at least the movie version of children of the corn. Because I feel like there are appropriate jokes to be made that I don't know to make I mean you could just make the jokes and hope that they line up. That's what I do with a lot of my jokes go to the Phalanx field. Yes exactly go to the failings field where are there are children made a Phalanx and also corn like candy corn that they assimilated the thing. Is I think part of the premises. That like the Cornfield eats you after. You're over a certain manage. But I might be mixing with Logan's run which I've also never seen. Now I'm just imagining something like Logan's Fund. Ron which is you know the thing where they kill you. If you're too old but it's at a carnival and lots of fun and there's a cakewalk and also murder Logan's corn maize there. We go actually went to a corn maze. Yesterday it was very nice and very muddy. Did you get out. I am actually recording from the middle of the corn maze. It's really a good thing. Carry this reporting rig with me everywhere ago. Oh no no see. I figured I'd be talking to you and it would. It seemed like it was actually you and towards the end like miles would claw his way in Lake Muddy and and scratched up and desperate and then realized there was units perfectly ordinary. DAPO Ganger. Who is is the one who actually emerged from the maze? Oh man maybe they'd be could be a fouling stop gang and they could talk with antiquated language or have like my outfit but the wrong color. I don't know Oh. How Up are you on the sling? That kids use these days not even remotely. He said DABBING. Possibly I think dabbing his yesterday's news. I believe the it now. Oh He'd that's kind of hard to say. And that's my only opinion about it fair enough so back to the Phalanx and Dr Cornfields Right. So let's get a little bit of back story what is up with the Phalanx J.. Well Phalanx are an increasingly large. Collective intelligence composed of racist human jerks will initially racist human jerks and then whatever humans they happen to find absorb bonded with the techno organic alien remains of warlock deceased new mutant and best space teenager the initial racist human jerks figured this would make them bad enough to kill all all the mutants like that thing. We mentioned racist jerks. Yeah that however. Their goals shifted as the failings collective intelligence eligible took over to absorbing all of the minds mutants remained a threat but now because they couldn't be as easily absorbed by the failings as humans so meanwhile elsewhere in the Phalanx Covenant specifically in generation next which we covered last time banshee led a small team in rescuing the next generation of mutants. The families had kidnapped that next generation to use his sort of test subjects to figure out the whole absorbing mutants part without having to worry about accidentally killing them. Because you know teenagers the valley's hates teenagers. They do what with their loud music and and disrespectful slang words. Yeah they keep saying you eat all the time not at this point they don't it's nineteen ninety four. They probably I. I don't know how I don't know how fake Comic Book Kids Talk Exactly. Maybe they're all watching cool. WELL HAS ICE I. I should certainly hope so. The X men themselves and already been kidnapped by the Phalanx at this point and replaced by Phalanx duplicates. What's up with the X. men We'll get to that next episode. That's the X.. Men Except for a few key members Scott and Jean remember have just gotten back from their honeymoon in an haven't met up with the rest of the team yet. Wolverine is often his own solo book and while cable isn't one of the X.. Men but he does have his own solo book and it is eventually going to be part of this crossover again. We'll get to that next episode as far as the teams that are here why it's all spin off teams x-factor force and x calibre. Jd think you can list all of those teams members in one breath. I do Ford's havoc. Polaris Wolf spin strong. Cannonball shattered star boomers siren warpath Richter nightcrawlers shadow cat Britannic. Meghan Day tripper and conditionally. Doug Lock Very nice very nice with supposed to lift the teams they were onto because that was just a full roster after that people can figure it out unfortunately in life signs and I feel like a lot of our sentences are going to start with unfortunately in life signs with that gigantic pantic roster to play with only like four or five characters are going to be relevant more than very slightly and that makes me sad much more than the two chapters that surround it this story feels thrown together for all the failings covenant is actually a relatively organized. Crossover as crossovers go. I was really really surprised at how disconnected this chapter seemed from itself. I know I mean we're used to x calibre being pretty if he in this micro era but experts usually great and X.. Factors been awesome as well and here. This feels like a story composed of afterthoughts thoughts. Yeah yes sort of like a microcosm of Excalibur as a whole right now. But I don't want to be too negative because being too negative is no fun and there's a lot of really fun stuff off including a giant robot dog in this story so let's just dive in wait. Is it a dog. Thought it might be a dinosaur. Could be a dog a sore. Let's start art with X.. Factor number one. Oh six life signs part one plotted by Scott lobbed all scripted by Todd Disalvo Pencil by Jefferson and Roger Cruz inks by L. Milgram and colored by Glenis. And I WANNA start off talking about this cover because the coverage done by Steve lytle and it's Doug Lock fighting various members of the various teams. But he's this got this beautiful sketchy Ross style to it. That's Kinda like a cross between Larry Stroman and Jay Lee and I am all about this one one of the things. That's really fascinating about this covers. If you had told me if you'd pull a lot of pieces out of it and told me that they had been done in twenty nineteen. I absolutely believe you. It's in a style that I think of is much more contemporary to now than ninety four. I completely agree. But one thing that places it firmly in ninety four and also places all of these covers firmly in ninety. Four is the Gimmick Gimmick. -Ness of it. That's right front back or one big image. It's card stock. There's a technological reflecting holy Grammy Strip across one side. And and I'M NOT GONNA lie. I love these covers. I know they're gimmicks I love them. Anyway here's the real question. Did you think that the holographic strip was a removable. bookmark No this looks much less removable than those trading card things on the cover of fatal attractions did so maybe marvel learn something man. I wasn't even taken in by those because I wasn't reading comics. Mix early enough to be. And I'm still kind of annoyed at those fake trading cards because they they look like they should be trading cards. And I tell you. Maybe that's why executioners song included trading cards I I don't know anyway. We start off in France specifically at the French monastery from UNCANNY X men number three hundred remember the one that the acolytes were hanging out in and kidnapped McTaggart Taggart to vaguely it was never established that firmly as the location besides pastoral and idyllic will this one weird thing about it Area Monastery area has one weird trick for hiding mutants like if the remote and Senate their signatures weren't detectable from outside. That's mentioned here and it's still not explained so whatever but ex factor is here. WHOA WHOA you can't?.

"Hey Jay what you've been up to. I have been reading so much silver age marvel nice and he could ex cameos not really but that's because I'm deliberately mostly reading pre-accident. Ooh They do guest starring fantastic for number twenty eight excellent. What are they up to. you know trying to kill the fantastic four what why professor x told them to. He was very adamant about it. I don't know why terrible things he's he does still surprise me okay in his defense. He was kind of possessed this time by whom puppet master he's this fantastic four villain who controls people by sculpting duplicates of the amount of radioactive clay that seems dubious. Look it was the silver age. Radiation was great fair enough but wasn't professor x's identity a secret. How did puppet master know what he looked like. Oh puppet master didn't but he was working with the mad thinker who you knew who professor rex was took a lucky guess what it I'm Jay editon milestone folks and we are here to explain Blaine the X. Men because it's about time someone did welcome to episode two hundred sixty six of John Miles explain the X. men where we walk you through the ins the outs and the ret cons of comics comics greatest superhero soap opera and welcome back to me. I I spent a week in rural Michigan with my partner's family. One of them got married and it was really nice but I am happy to be back in a in a city now. I didn't realize what a city dweller I had become so it's nice to be home and it's nice to be talking about What is it this time. X-factor did the Cat Matthew. The cat was so needy when we got back our housemate totally took care of her and that was great but she was basically squawking and and laying on us the second we would sit still for even a moment. She has a lot of feelings she has. A lot of feelings all come out in squawk form and had yeah yeah. She's a good cat so we're talking about X. factor today but wanted to mention. I something that you can do to really to help us out. Yes so way back in the dawn days of the show. We used to regularly remind people to review us on Itunes in the other platforms where they listen to the show and somewhere in the middle. We sort of forgot to keep doing that so so this is our official reminder and request again that if you like the show please review us on Itunes stitcher spotify by whatever places allow you to review podcast. If you don't like US please keep your opinions to yourself. It actually really helps people find the show and we really appreciate. She had it so yeah. If you haven't done so please do and you could. I don't know is can you. Can they review on Yelp. I bet they can. I don't like Yelp. I don't know do we have to have a physical location for that. I I think you should review us on completely inappropriate platforms personally that seems entirely reasonable both inappropriate in terms of irrelevant inappropriate in terms of like obscene own oh man so the best inappropriate in terms of seen platform. I don't know if it still exists but did you ever see critique my dick pic no but I can actually see that being like a valuable service. Okay it was terrific blog where people could send in their Dick Pics and the the person who is was an art historian or an art critic would critique them based on things like composition addition enlightening. I love that although I'm just imagining sending in a picture of like night wing of Dick Grayson and then the critic just going off about what Jerky could be see. I'm just imagining you know sending in pictures of random things like like when people send raiding dogs other stuff in the whole thing that led to they're good dogs sprint haw. I'm tangentially familiar with rating dogs. I mean the concept of it. It's good they're good dogs sprint. You know who else probably likes dogs most of the members of x factor. It seems likely well. One of them is sort of a canine herself so there you go before. Are we dive in. Let's get a little bit of background on the current and past states of everyone's favourite government sponsored mutant team and that team has fewer people than it used to. Who Do we have well not Jamie Madrick's. Yeah he died of the legacy virus and it was it was really sad genuinely sad or did he. We'll get to that but as far as the people who do remain still alive we've got polaris fabulously green haired mistress of magnetism and magnets on again off-again daughter and enormous jokester strong guy and recently restored to psychological independence teenage. Werewolf Wolf's bane and that's kind of it for now I mean I guess there's Ford. She's still there boss yet but he's often space being sexy and excellent unlimited number five. I miss back when Comex if a character was in one place would not have them in a second simultaneous place ace yeah that was good but I feel like wolverine kind of ruined dammit Logan. You ruined everything. I guess there is random. The surly mercenary they've been working with lately but he is decidedly not part of x factor and why would you even suggest that yeah he is adamantly still an independent contractor. Still you'll sort of affiliated with the team is their previous government liaison Val Cooper. They're not on great terms. Though as rex factors previous field leader leader Havoc Alex Summers well a few issues ago he agreed to let sympathetic villain haven attempts to cure Jamie address of the legacy virus and that went poorly and when Jamie died havoc is now off bring in Hawaii. It's right. He quit the team. sunfire would be proud. I I think it takes more than that to make sunfire proud yeah yeah. That's probably true. He probably have to quit like at least two or three times now. Strong I was CARAX's best friend and took it pretty hard when Madrick's died but he and Wolf's Bane have been excellently supportive buds to one another and did not quit their day jobs on like their boss us they are however taking a break from the team but we'll get back to that shortly but it hasn't all been death and resignation lately because Polaris Laris recently found out why assassins had been repeatedly trying to kill her or at least she'd apparently found out now what she discovered what she thought she discovered was that a government project had wanted to work with her as a counter to magneto awhile back rogue agent decided that the best way to do that would be mind control. What we you know annex factor doesn't though is that these seemingly very reasonable government lady who explained all this to the team is actually possessed by malice malice is a psychic entity who used to work for mister sinister and possessed Polaris for a really long time back in the day malice usually takes the form of a little choker with a skull John. It occurs to me that it would be really hard to tell if mystique with possessed by malice no yes. She's got stalls all over. It's true but right what's more. I don't know why polarises still mad though I mean yes. Ashi may have had or body and mind take over for months but at least you got some pretty sweet giant hair and a red super villain outfit out of the deal. I mean that's worth something right. No maybe well listeners. You be the judge if you want but in the meantime we'll talk about X. Factor number one hundred three friends and family family. This issue is plotted by James. Mattis scripted by Todd Disalvo penciled by John Dermot inked by Al Norman colored by Glynos Oliver and Oh man Dan this arkwright here. These are jammed Madison's last issues and he's not writing. He's just plotting however. I'm really happy that we've got awesome. affreux solid several issues because I really like her art. I also really liked Todd Zog. Oh He's the person who script this arc and in fact will go on to script worked with John. Francis Moore's run after this. His dialogue is actually really really good. I'm GonNa Miss Jammed Jimenez a writer but I think I might like design. Goes Dialogue Doug. Even a little bit more yet does not go has a really really solid grip on the character voices at this point. and I really like actually honestly I really like them. As a rating team here I agree although Guido does sound Kinda weird with a deal and wit and was all the time spelled all funky yeah hit he occasionally only ends up being phonetically cockney which the Weird Ho man non just imagine him as like the giant child chimney sweep of the book. He's filthy like he's sweeps children's chimneys. 'em Let's go with yes as for the plot of this book that partially features a child chimney sweep. Let's start out with havoc was start out with Alex Summers in his ripped tank top and his shades moping tropical early and they have to wonder under I mean I get why Alex is up. Satiety may dining blames himself for it but did cyclops feel this way when thunderbird died way back in the bronze age yet but cyclops cyclops had an angry. Clermont narrators snap him out of it all. That's a good point. I gotTa say though is Alex Brooding as one could brewed only and specifically weekly in the early to mid nineteen ninety s pretty much so and maybe that's why he does not in his guilt blow open demon CAIRN and release a demon the way cyclops did when he was brooding after his teammates death. No no that's late seventies brooding. Okay I mean you know that's how you can define a decade by its brooding eighties bridges space base guys legit but suddenly things are much better because scantily clad polaris shows up she found him she found him and she is here ear with what appears initially be melodrama and then comes full circle in a much much more polaris line. Our hearts and souls are bound together. You know where you are when I look into my heart. I know how you feel. When I look in your eyes we live for one another and I know we die for each other. I go to the ends of the Earth for you. You traced her credit cards man. I really like them. I really liked the extent to which like any time that they go into that sort of sappy version they they. They become smart asses about their characters. I feel like this is a relationship. It's really hard to get invested in largely because both of them are are characters who are disproportionately plagued by inconsistent writing and sort of slapdash characterization but the dynamic. That's established between them in this. This series in this era is one that I really really like. I completely agree yeah. I I missed out. I mean I get why the characters have been taken in other directions in recent years but but in the comics I think this is my favorite polaris and my favorite havoc. My favorite Polaris overall of course is from the gifted. I feel like they could make really good. BFF X.'s X.'s yeah I'd love to see more of that. I don't know who knows what I don't think they've been put on any of the current New Era lineups but we do know that more books are coming yeah yeah and I yeah and again. I think this is a dynamic that would translate really really well to that so they have they have a long heartfelt conversation after which polarised I decides that there has been enough brooding and it's time for them to go surfing. This is where it comes from that havoc serfs I. I had never really pinpointed the issue but I guess this is where x men evolution got got it yeah although here he surfing on magnetic waves because why not and then go magnetic volcano diving put that in your dissertation guys if you ever finish them okay that is legitimately awesome and I do really really really appreciate that. The writer sear remembered well okay. They made them geologists instead of geophysicist but still they remembered yeah close enough. I also myself appreciate that. Polaris tells Alex does hearing people up has her second mutability ability and she'll show him her third later polarises such a wonderful flirt with Alex It's actually just that thing where you can bend back in touch wrist with with it no well. I mean different strokes. I guess you don't WanNa do that. While you're diving into a volcano access to both ends well well as all of this volcanic flirtation occurs. Someone's watching. It's an old woman in a Mu Mu. This is specifically Beatrice Connors relation to the Lizard as far as I know on and she is she's possessed by mouse. We discovered that at the tail end of her last appearance in the comic and she is she is on the beach of course reading a tale of of an rices the tale of the body thief yellow a little books the little subtle snarky references that really feel like x factor she also murder is a poodle named trixie for no particularly good reason and then a couple of vacationers steals their room.
