"Business flash. It's now 6 40 on Wall Street. I'm Doug prisoner in New York. We check markets throughout the day for you here on Bloomberg. Well, we made it to the first trading day of the second quarter, and it's a holiday shortened week U.S. equity markets will be closed on good Friday, although the bond market will trade for a half day since it's on Friday that will get the march employment data in the Friday session we had a yields moving lower across the treasury curve after the fed's preferred measure of inflation. Sources say a deal could be imminent or could still fall apart at this moment. I'm Dan Schwartzman that your Bloomberg world sports update does. All right, Dan, thanks, time now for our weekly look at the ETF market with our ETF expert his Eric belchin is a Bloomberg intelligence senior ETF analyst. Eric, it's always a pleasure. Thanks for being with us. I think it's fair to say that it's going to be a big day for those oil ETFs. We're seeing a big moving crude oil right now, but I'm wondering if you buy into the argument that the economy has been slowing down. Have you been short, oil ETFs up until this point? Well, as you know, I'm an analyst. My personal portfolio, honestly, I'm a very boring investor, but as an analyst that can tell you that oil ETFs are probably going to see some action this week, at least on Monday. And I'm telling you, they're probably loving life because if you've seen the energy sector and oil ETFs, they had a great like 18 month run, and then they've sort of fallen on hard times. People have moved on from them. We've seen a lot of models rotate out of energy. They see $2 billion in outflows in the past month. So it would be interesting to see how this happens because it seems like most of Wall Street and the professionals have left the energy trade. They kind of got a nice 60, 70% run and has moved on and now oil is, I think, our XLE rather, I think, is down 3% this year. So will this be a comeback? Like I said, this shows it's very hard sometimes to time this kind of stuff, but that's sort of my take there, but I'm looking for some volume, at least in these ETFs on Monday. Yeah. I mean, the thing is right now. Overall, as seen this market evolve through the course of, let's say, march and taking stock of that Eric. Yeah. I mean, look, people what we've seen in the flows is that people are really, really want a rally, especially in just U.S. equities. We see people get in. And then something bad happens, they get out. But they really are pretty quick to get back in. What we've seen in consistently, though, is treasuries. People love treasury ETFs. And in addition, money market mutual funds, which are very boring, but now they're kind of sexy because they yield 4.5%. So one of our big themes, we're all of us analysts have an angle on this. It's such a big story. Is the move from banks into money market mutual funds and cash like ETFs because the banks are offering you less than 1%, a lot of them. I mean, these are big, major banks. So you can't get a lot on your savings. So we're going to see a migration over to these money market funds until the banks raise their interest rates, which is also why we're watching the bank and financial sector because if they raise their rates and give you more money, it's going to hurt their revenue. So this fed hiking, it's trickled down into a lot of places, but banks are really behind in what they offer. And money market funds are now at record assets, they took in $200 billion in two weeks. That's an absurd amount of money. So if at some point here, because I think if we can accept that the economy is slowing down, maybe the credit contraction as a result of some of the turmoil in the banking system, maybe that plays a role in this. But there's a lot of dry powder that you've just kind of articulated here. If you accept the idea that a money market mutual fund

"Eastern coverage will begin. Also on Sunday, big game in the Premier League spurs taking on Chelsea, Chelsea with back to back losses and no wins in their last 5 games in all competitions, current Chelsea manager Graham Potter has criticized former manager Thomas Tuchel about the preseason saying there was a suboptimal preseason and speaking to a few of the experienced guys, they thought it was the worst preseason they've had for different reasons. What's a suboptimal pre season? Yes. Not the best. Well, at least she's taking the Moscow funny. He's got a nice car. I don't light up. Okay, well, at the end of the day, it took us gone and what's left, what's left, and Todd bully saying in players are the consulting assignment players. And at the end of the day, it's his responsibility and how to get results. I'm not sure it's time for the blame game about what happened in pre season to be quite honest with you. Steve is laughing because you said that you wanted to be a bit more fight from him. You have to see this from Graham Potter, Steve. Yes and no. Okay. No, because you don't say that. You know, you just don't do that. Whenever you go into a job, you don't criticize the guy that was there before you. You just don't. It's just not the right thing to do. But as I said, is what the mask off, and he's having a goal. I mean, that didn't say. So I'm kind of I'm split. You don't do that, but at least he's having a goal. Craig doesn't like it. Stevie split. Where do you stand on its steward? I don't like it. And the thing that isn't great is that half the players that are there now weren't in that pre season because they're all new players. So that wasn't Thomas tickles fault. I think there was a problem with the preseason anyway for all clubs because they didn't have that much time to prepare for the season. It all came a bit quick because of the World Cup. But it's the wrong thing to do. You never criticize the previous manager because the players are like the previous manager and they're going to not like you, but they'll lose their respect for you. He's got to get on with it. He's got to make some big decisions. He's going to make some big decisions over. What he thinks is best team is what style of football he wants and if he keeps his system and the style of football and keeps the same team most weeks, he might get some consistency. They might get some results, but at the moment, it doesn't look like they are. I think you could, I think you could say that in some sense, Bruce bought left granite scale left, per check left. So there was a big bridge between management and ownership and I think it was for sure taking up more of Turkish time than he wanted to spend on the training field. So I think in some sense it was not an ideal summer for them because, as I said, he was doing all these other jobs at previously two or three people were doing. But as rob was saying as a lot of new faces here and it wasn't, it's not preseason that means basically they couldn't have a bomb door from 12 yards out. And that's a problem. Some of the build up players been okay. If you look at the Dortmund game, played really well. Just really, really poor in front of goal. That is not a fitness issue. That's just a quality issue. And they've got a big one at the weekend, and another poor result is just going to pay all the pressure. Straight back out, have not been interested in

"Hey roger, my name is Kyle from Huntsville, Alabama, Chelsea fan. My only advice for Potter ahead of the match against Tottenham would be to have cookery a cut his hair. I am curious what hairstyle you think would look best on him, should he do that. So thanks very much. Kyle. Tactically, honestly, when you look at the options, the possibilities for Graham Potter right now are man so beleaguered so lost tactically. I think you've just hit upon probably one of his best options to get cuca rera a haircut and hope for the reverse Sampson. I mean, that is how bereft Chelsea, as they travel to Tottenham massive game, Sunday morning 8 30 a.m. Eastern Time on the USA channel, a clash between two teams, one, experiencing an unraveling season. The other a deeply inconsistent one tenth place Chelsea, winner of two in 15 league games. What I realized this morning, I imagine trying to work out constantly. What is Todd bully actually trying to do with his club, and it dawned on me, can't wait to ask David on Monday. Could it be that he has capsized his club intentionally because he's trying to live out a shot by shot remake of Brewster's millions? It's probably the major rational explanation right now as Graham Potter's barely hanging on as his squad a list in the bloated imp paycheck ignoring on the bus all the way to Tottenham, politic back in training. This week probably will not feature, but leads next weekend. Do you think he's really going to miss that? A chance to chat about golf in the center circle in the final whistle. We're Brendan aaronson. It's under great western McKinney spurs. They also a season of some challenge. It's a very odd Jekyll and Hyde Tottenham who humiliated by Leicester DOA in Milan, but they sandwich those matches in between victory against Manchester City and then last weekend against an enfeebled West Ham, just a flailing form of their rivals more than a thing is given this season still the pattern of at least the top four chase, but man, Graham Potter. God, all I thought was the Chelsea fan culture so toxic right now after that loss against Southampton every game that felt like a must win and it was a loss, but the football insipid broken. Just the outcry of the fans turning from anger into apathy, which is always far too late to try and create change. Something's got to give, but here's grand Potter. This morning, left hung out to dry and pinning the club's problems. Let's take a listen. A suboptimal preseason. Speaking to a couple of the experienced guys sort of thought it was the worst pre season they've had for different reasons. It's not to blame anybody for different reasons that happened. Yes, Graham. It was the preseason tour that's at fault. It was all Lando's fault. That Chelsea are not in the top four. They beat up for maybe if they went to Disney World instead of universal. Next question. Hey rod, the Davis down in southern puns, North Carolina. I'm a new lead that ever depends. So with Liverpool's terrible form and calls for Klopp to be let go by the team and also helps previous comments about leaving Manchester City upon finding out that the ownership lied to him. Out of those two options, which one do you want to see head up international team for the U.S.? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Courage. Thanks. Oh, Davis. In your beautiful, beautiful North Carolina hills. Oh, pep. And Klopp be flailing in their own way. Poor Jurgen this morning. I mean, how do you follow up your worst home European defeat in club history? That much buddy who'd revival with wins against Everton and Newcastle blown away like a new toupe in the first strong morning wind. Tuesday night's humiliation against Real Madrid, a pummeling surrender in which

"All right, doctor, thank you so much. We appreciate that good stuff as always. All right, Bloomberg, business week magazine. It's on the shelves right now as the kids used to say the cover is the Bloomberg 50. The people who defined a global business in 2022 and Mike rigg and I know you'll be shocked to find out that I am not on it. I did not make the list. Snubbed against snubbed it again. Exactly, but we've got the person responsible for that Brett Beacon. He's a senior editor at Bloomberg businessweek joining us via Zoom. From New York City. So Brett, the 50 folks who really defined global business in 2022. Talk to us about maybe some themes that emerged from your list this year. Yeah, so I would say that the biggest theme that emerged is the tentacles really that the war in Ukraine had. So we have obviously volodymyr zelensky is on the list. But then when you start to look into other industries, you see people like in the finance world, like Dolly Singh, who was the architect of the sanctions regime against Putin. He's on our list and then even people like Todd bully, who winds up investing and buying the Chelsea football club after the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich was pressured to sell it. So that was one of the major themes. And then I would say it was also sort of hard to avoid what's going on in crypto and the winter. So we had some familiar names like Serena Williams, who's raising money, including investing in some crypto stuff. People like Katie Han, and up until about a month ago, we thought we were going to have someone with the initials SPF on the list. But we wound up putting his replacement John rayon instead. Okay. Certainly an influential character, but I guess not the type you want. This particular list. My favorite, though, Brett is Bad Bunny. Yes. For those who are on Paul, explain that one to me. Reggae Todd, man. Oh, okay. There you go. What's he doing on there, Brett? Yeah, so Bad Bunny is kind of fascinating. You know, he sort of emerges in the pandemic from he's really sort of first recognized when he was a teen for his work on SoundCloud. And it's been an incredibly prolific musician in the last couple of years. And it really culminated this year in him selling more tickets to concerts and having the number one album of the year when he had competition from some huge names Harry Styles, Beyoncé, BTS, et cetera. So no one had a bigger tour this year and no one had a bigger album this year than Bad Bunny and he really appeared appeals to like a Gen Z crowd. He sort of challenges gender norms. And his music's great. Any surprises for you this year? I mean, there are always surprises to me. I would say, I would say that we look at people like someone like a Tom oxley who makes the list because when you try to explain what he does, it's not just surprising and sort of shocking. He's a neuroscientist and entrepreneur who is looking into the world of brain computer interfaces and has successfully implanted a device that essentially allows people who are suffering from things like ALS to communicate via their thoughts. You know, in the world of science fiction, we've heard about this for years and it's always been something in novels, but he's actually making it happen in Australia in this trial run. They were able to get people to actually send emails using this technology into order things online. So learning about people like that is always one of the most fascinating parts of business together. Brett, one name that jumped out in my world of market coverages. Ken Griffin, billionaire, founder of Citadel. Caught your eye within this year. Yeah, Ken Griffin is fascinating in normal times, but this move to Miami. You know, he's not the first to do it. But he is certainly the wealthiest. Certainly the richest to do it. And he's really signaling a move down there. And in an attempt to make Miami into, I think what we referred to as Wall Street south. He's building a tower down there that I believe he's estimated to be at about a $1 billion. And there's also just a fascinating backstory here with him wanting to leave Illinois because of his battles with JB pritzker there and to go down to Florida. I was generally perceived as being more business friendly, where the governor is Ron DeSantis and Griffin is one of his biggest contributors. So this is like a story within a story within a story on that one. You know, I was glad to see Nick Hayek on because I interviewed him this earlier this week and in doing research and he's the president's CEO of the swatch group in Switzerland. I didn't know that the swatch group was the biggest watch company in the world. They have a huge market cap, just a fascinating story when I did the research, interesting to find them on your Bloomberg business week 50. Yeah, Nick hike is like, it's a very 2022 story. He's the kind of person who wouldn't have made it on last year and probably won't make it on next year. But the moon swatch is this genius stroke that he had where they basically took a swatch and which is one of the lower end brands. Right, and they combine that with omega, which is one of their higher end brand. And you had a watch that would normally cost about $7000. And they swapped out basically the parts to make it a $250 watch. And it was wildly popular. I actually looked for one, even as recently as about a week ago. And I walked into the boutique, the swash boutique, and they said, they almost knew exactly what their and they said we don't have any. Almost right off the bat. And this is months and months and months after this partnership. So it was really, really, just a genius stroke. The watchers are super cool. And you basically get to own this iconic watch, timepiece, but you'll only have to spend $250 on it versus the 7000 that it would the original would cost. Another one, someone I did not know of. Pinky coal. I'm not sure if you're allowed to say the name of her restaurant. I think you can. Is this a family program? This is business we put it in print. We did. And our compliance our alert compliance flagged me every single time. Yeah, so picky Cole was fascinating. She raised $25 million this year with the help of Danny Meyer of Shake Shack fame and of course Union Square, et cetera. So she started a vegan burger chain called slutty vegan. And it's basically fast food for vegans. She was trying to change people's perception of vegan food from like tofu bowls and grain bowls. And she liked junk food and wanted to be able to eat junk food. So she needed somebody vegan basically so that we would talk about it. Laugh and joke about it. And the burgers all have fun names like Hollywood hooker, Minaj, one night stand. It's great. That's fun. All right, that's good. It's a great collection and maybe of different people on there. It's a great read. So I suggest people run out to the you can go to the place and get magazines, right? You can do that still. Plus you can do it on that dot com. And station when I go through Penn station. Exactly. All right

"And I'm Damien SaaS hour Yes he is and today our guest I'm getting I'm sorry You know him is probably one of the biggest rap stars ever and he's a movie star and he's also the founder of big three basketball which starts its 5th season We're talking about ice cube everybody Hey Mister cube Mister ice Mister cube There he is That is coming up straight ahead on the business of sports but first we got some topics to talk about and they are some big ones And probably dominating right now PGA Tour has suspended players participating in the Saudi Mac league the golf investment which there are 17 players right now and some of those players include Phil Mickelson Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia and scar the PGA means business Yeah they are taking a hard line on anyone who's taking part in this Saudi Arabia backed golf league The PJ saying they will be suspended from PGA tournament play They have really thrown down the gauntlet and want to create this perception that this is a breakaway league and it will not be tolerated and that these players are making this choice for financial based reasons and they can not therefore be part of the PGA Tour and participate in the membership benefits and the opportunities and the platform And there is truth to the fact that there is a lot of money at play here that there are financial based reasons for players taking part in this new league The reports show that Phil Mickelson is getting paid I think $200 million Dustin Johnson a 150 million that is more than double the total prize money he's earned so far on tour Apparently Tiger Woods turned down 1 billion to take part Well I mean look there's a lot of money involved I mean Scarlett for sure but I mean for me God it does sound like a lot of fun Have you heard about this format I mean first of all yes a lot of money I mean total price per of 25 million per event But I mean the first event is going to be I mean there are 12 teams Each team has a captain they select the draft who they're going to have on their teams It's three days not four it's a 48 man field with a shotgun start I mean it's still a traditional sort of stroke play format but it does sound like a lot of fun It brings in a little bit of a match play shotgun start all that good stuff And by the way two men who are not on the list as of yet Bryson edition Beau and Patrick Reed The thing about it is they're offering all this money to the players to come to the IV right now Dustin Johnson I think was offered a $100 million plus all the prize money He wins And what Johnson said was look I can't play forever So in basically he wants to set his life up later on down the road With a $100 million start it's for some of these players it's hard to turn down so like you said scar this is a hard line that the PGA is taking What's also interesting here is it's notable that the USGA is not following this script The USGA oversees the U.S. open which will happen soon And it did say that those who are qualified to play in the U.S. open will not be prevented from teeing it up because of their participation in the Liv event So that's an interesting sidebar story in all of this but one of the big issues that people have with this golf league is just that Saudi Arabia is trying to sports wash its global image right Because under The Crown prince we'll haven't been Salma and it's trying to diversify its economy beyond oil and detract move away from it's just small human rights record Well look I mean from my perspective it sounds like the era of free agency is beginning in professional golf Well prices aren't falling at this Walmart Oh good transition See Walmart air Rob Walton looks like he's the man that is going to buy the NFL Broncos they have made the announcement that yeah this is going to happen So they bought the team in its according to ESPN and others This deal is worth $4.65 billion Yeah the highest price tag for any U.S. team since Jose bought the Brooklyn Nets for $3.3 billion Of course we had Chelsea sold Todd bully and Friends for 5.3 billion not so long ago but Sam Walton along with his daughter and her husband as well as melody hobson who is the co CEO of aerial investments will be taking ownership provided that the NFL finance committee and other team owners approve the deal Of the Broncos which has been something we've been waiting for for a couple of months now It's notable here that melody hobson would be the first I don't know if the first black person because up until now no black person has ever held a majority stake in any NFL team I don't know if her investment changes that because I don't know how much of a share she has So these are all big question marks But yeah big price tag and as you mentioned bar it's very interesting that a company known for its thrifting Ness or its ability to provide value is splashing so much money on this team Well I mean Scarlett melody hobson's also chair of Starbucks and she's on the board for Bloomberg philanthropies but more importantly she's married to George Lucas So I can see the Millennium Falcon making passes and flybys at the beginning of Denver Bronco games It'd be pretty awesome I would like to see that That's pretty good Coming up next Hey Ice cube And he's going to talk about the league that he founded Big three basketball they're starting their 5th season That is straight ahead on the Bloomberg business of sports You can follow me on Twitter at big bar sports I'm on Twitter at scarlet fu And.

"Up today stay tuned for our interview with CEO of McLaren racing Zach Brown that is straight ahead on the show but first let's dig into some of the top stories making headlines in the business of sports and probably one of the biggest ones Colin Kaepernick he's working out for the Las Vegas Raiders Damien does this mean that we're going to see Colin Kaepernick come back Well he's been trying to come back for some time right I mean Michael it would be awesome to see him come back you know we all know the history there you know the grievance against the league I think that was settled for something under $10 million But you know he's been trying out for quite a bit of time You know I'd love to see him go back to the Raiders I mean they have David Carr obviously But if he gets some time behind center throwing a guy like devonte Adams I mean that could be very cool to watch You think this is good PR for the Raiders I definitely do especially after what we saw last week with Gruden So yeah no absolutely you know it's a little bit of PR there but he definitely can serve a role as maybe mentoring David Carr serving as a bit of a take your head in the locker room and all that kind of stuff So you know there's a reason they brought him in I hope And it would be great to see him suit up and get behind center again Can you imagine him coming if he does come back the sponsorship opportunities he's going to have Oh my goodness can you imagine I mean look Josh McDaniels knows that too right I mean this is dummies out there in Las Vegas They know the value of a dollar But I think you know in the same breath in Kaepernick's last season with San Francisco they didn't do so well I believe they had only one win that year So that has obviously a lot to do with the team itself But you know yeah I mean let's give it a shot I mean let's see if the man can still run the ball I mean he was you know not your typical pocket passer as you know Michael He used his feet quite a bit and he knew how to score a touchdown Now in being humble about trying to come back on the field he said look I'll come back as a backup quarterback Well in this case he may not have any choice right I think it's David Carr's team especially given the fact that they signed devonte Adams who is David Carr was his college quarterback The main reason he's there is because of David Carr but you know look this is the NFL anything happens Injuries abounds You know it would be very cool to see him take to the field again If the Raiders sign Kaepernick what are the pros and cons I mean look you know obviously from a media perspective there's a lot there that is good It's good for the franchise It's good for the team I think But most Vegas wants to win right They need some strides in the off season They had some really really big signings You know on both sides of the ball And so you know I'm bringing in someone like Colin Kaepernick Add a little bit of something there you know a little bit of zhejiang You know I'm excited for the season We're getting close here I'm keep in mind Kaepernick's only 34 years old and I say only 34 years old because if you look at Tom Brady he is well into his 40s So Kaepernick if you go by those rules he still has a lot of time and his legs are fresh Yeah I think the real catch up for him is going to be getting accustomed to the offense you know shaking off the cobwebs in terms of how to read today's NFL defense Yeah it's going to be interesting Let's talk about soccer league premier soccer league and the sale of Chelsea It's nearly complete and part of that puzzle now is because the Portugal government has ratified the takeover from Todd boley's purchase Todd boley by the way owns a part of the Los Angeles Dodgers Now I need to explain the reason why the Portuguese government was in on this is because Abramovich holds a passport for the European nation So that's why they had to give their okay on this as well Chelsea this has been a long going dramatic story Damian are we finally going to see now Chelsea in Thai Bowie's hands Well I think Michael the big what if was you know they needed to be assured the regulators that is that the proceeds from the sale were not going to accrue to Roman Abramovich right Due to the sanctions placed against them So you know I think they've gotten through that I think they've made the proper assurances there It looks like Todd bully is going to be the owner of a yet another EPL club and you look this is coming at a very interesting time I think for English premiere And the reason I say that is because you've had a lot of Americans the glazers for one come into the league in recent years and they're just not spending the way some of their peers from the Middle East for example are I mean we know that the deputy prime minister of the UAE owns man city and he spent a lot of money on that We know that Abramovich spent a lot of money on his team as well But if you look at operating profitability it's come off quite significantly And I think what I'm hearing is that Todd bully wants to be a little bit more conservative with the purse strings than his predecessor And so however the fans react to that remains to be seen I think they're welcoming Todd right now but if they don't start to put some wins up you know things can change in a hurry Finally Damien we're moving to another topic but you know what it's all about because it is Sunday Sunday Sunday It is time for racing F one at Monaco the back end of it We've got it The Coca-Cola 600 for NASCAR and in between the Indy 500 Oh my goodness gracious And Roger Penske of course owns the track I'm looking forward to seeing butts in the seats this year like we've seen in a little bit last year I mean talk about butts in the seats Michael I mean Formula One racing in the U.S. is absolutely taken off right I mean we know 2021 was a record I think you had something on the order of 930,000 viewers per race And look ESPN just said their F one ratings year to date are up something on the order of 22% year over year So F one is a very very big deal I can't wait to see who crosses the art of bricks first Up next on the show speaking of the Indy 500 We have an interview with the CEO of McLaren racing Zach Brown And we're talking in the racing ahead of this weekend's Indy 500 straight ahead on the Bloomberg "Coming up today Stay tuned for our interview with CEO of McLaren racing Zach Brown that is straight ahead on the show but first let's dig into some of the top stories making headlines in the business of sports and probably one of the biggest ones Colin Kaepernick he's working out for the Las Vegas Raiders Damien does this mean that we're going to see Colin Kaepernick come back Well he's been trying to come back for some time I mean Michael it would be awesome to see him come back You know we all know the history there You know the grievance against the league I think that was settled for something under $10 million But you know he's been trying out for quite a bit of time You know I'd love to see him go back to the Raiders I mean they have David Carr obviously But if he gets some time behind center throw into a guy like devonte Adams I mean that could be very cool to watch You think this is good PR for the Raiders I definitely do especially after what we saw last week with Gruden So yeah no absolutely you know it's a little bit of PR there but he definitely conserve a role as maybe mentoring David Carr serving as a bit of a figurehead in the locker room and all that kind of stuff So you know there's a reason they brought him in I hope And it would be great to see him suit up and get behind center again Can you imagine him coming if he does come back the sponsorship "For world sport And let's bring in Dan Schwartzman Sudan it looks like Chelsea has a buyer now right Yeah they've cleared one major hurdle Brian as a Premier League has approved the bit of a group led by Los Angeles Dodgers hard owner Todd bully healed by Chelsea for 4.25 billion pounds Now the new ownership group will next have to work with the British government to finish the sale but all indications are that while there are some questions with how the money's going to be doled out there with Roman Abramovich not allowing being allowed to profit as the current owner of Chelsea that kind of has thrown a wrinkle into this but everything is expected to go through at some point At the French Open to seated Daniel Medvedev has no trouble advancing to the second round in straight sets while 14 sea Dennis Shapovalov is upset and straight set by holger vitas nuts of rune Also advancing our 7 seat Andrei Rublev HC cast brood and fourth seats stephanos sits with two survives losing the first two sets to Italian Lorenzo musetti before he rebounds in the next three In the women's shrub no big upset so far today 13 Paulo badosa 7 zero 7 AC Carolina plasco in 90 C Danielle Collins along with 11 C Jessica pagola all moving on to round two NHL playoff action three minutes to go in the second period The rangers have just scored again Mika's advantage with the goal at home they lead the Carolina hurricanes three to nothing Carolina leaves that best of 7 series two games to one in about an hour and ten minutes on the West Coast It is the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Calgary flames Edmonton leads that series two games to one coming up in about 25 minutes or so they will tip off game number four the Western Conference Finals of the NBA playoffs the Golden State Warriors on the road to Dallas Mavericks looking to finish off a four game suite Golden State by the way is not lost to Conference Finals game since.

"Sports from around the world Here's Dan schwarzman Thanks Brian Reports say that the Premier League is ready to approve Los Angeles Dodgers part owner Todd bully's group's 4.25 billion pound offer to buy Chelsea F.C. One major stumbling block remains though as cardona Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and the British government are still in talks as to where the two and a half billion pounds for the actual purchase of the club will go to The billionaire is not able to profit off a sale due to being sanctioned by the government The additional 1.75 billion pounds are for future investments in the club such as much needed renovations to home stadium Stanford bridge With the PGA Championship getting underway tomorrow at southern hills in Oklahoma Bryson DeChambeau is a drone from the tournament after going through a practice round The 28 year old has been out since early April after having surgery to repair a bone in his left wrist Two more second round series getting underway in the NHL as a Carolina hurricanes are hosting the New York rangers in the east while in the west He had been to New Orleans around the road at the Calgary flames Meanwhile the Western Conference Finals get underway in the NBA as the Dallas Mavericks are on the road at the Golden State Warriors During the regular season the Mavericks won three of the four meetings with the warriors including once in San Francisco Finally free agent quarterback James Bradbury has agreed to one year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles Bradbury was released by the New York Giants after two years due to his salary cap number The former pro bowler played his first four seasons with the Carolina Panthers after being a second round pick back in 2016 I'm Dan schwarzman that your Bloomberg world sports op day Markets headlines and breaking news 24 hours a day At Bloomberg dot com the Bloomberg business app and that Bloomberg quick tape This is a Bloomberg business flash So we are seeing a downdraft in equity markets across the apac region this negativity began in the U.S. the S&P today suffering its worst one day drop since June 2020 We were down about 4% today A lot of concern about how inflation is going to hurt corporate earnings after target reduced its full year forecast for operating income margin Target shares were down 25% today Right now in Tokyo we've got the nikkei sagging by two and a half percent energy stocks leading this retreat in the New York session crude oil was down about two and a half percent sub one ten a barrel There's some concern about that weaker demand obviously given the conversation around a slower growth and the possibility of a recession and it was interesting to because recent data show that in the U.S. we had an unexpected drop in U.S. crude inventories that in and of itself would argue for higher prices Right now in the electronic session one O 9 spot zero 5 in WTI were down another one half of 1% Also a lot of weakness in information technology in Japan We heard from Cisco Systems after the bell here in the U.S. and the company indicated that revenue in the current quarter will decline in the vicinity of 1% all the way to 5 and a half percent the street was looking for quite the opposite shares were down as much as 19% in the late U.S. session I'm looking at the S&P 500 E mini futures contract right now weaker by about a half of 1% In Seoul the Cosby down 1.2% and in Sydney the ASX 200 is off about 1.9% right now U.S. rates across the treasury curve stable right now after a big decline in the U.S. session a ten year treasury now at two 88 a two year at two 66 We'll take another look at markets in 15 minutes Let's get to Denise Pellegrini for.

"Business and sports with Michael Barnes scarlet fu and Mike lynch from Bloomberg radio Thanks for joining us on the Bloomberg business of sports show where we explore the big money issues in the world of sports I'm Michael Bond I'm scarlet fu And I'm Mike lynch The UK froze the assets of Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich as the British government has stepped up its sanctions against prominent Russians over the invasion of Ukraine Now there is a growing number of bids for the team and a prominent U.S. deal maker has entered the fray for more on the story Let's head to London and bring in Bloomberg UK business reporter David hellyer I want to talk about the latest now that we have news on that's now in the mix Todd bully is the U.S. dealmaker planning the takeover of the Chelsea football club and he added a former UK government adviser and a celebrity PR executive to his consortium bidding for the West London team This is turning into just a big old list Not surprisingly There are people coming out of the woodwork all over the place I say not surprisingly because the last time a sort of top really top site Premier League team was up for sale was in 2010 and Liverpool was sold to the Fenway group and other American group There was a chance that Chelsea would be sold in 2019 and Tod boli made it quite clear then that he was interested in buying it But we don't know all the details but he didn't get it then but he's come back and he's kind of like the fund runner I guess because he's done a lot of the due diligence couple of years ago And he seemed to be pretty well set up right from the beginning There are a lot of bitters that have entered this contest to this unofficial contest I guess I've seen reports of around 20 Has anyone come close To be honest with you I think the 3 billion was what he wanted in 2019 and he didn't get it then I think now we're looking more around 2 billion The figure that we use KPMG value tilted at 1.8 billion The thing is that obviously in a hotly contested auction prices can go up and over that But against that I think that is a very aware of the fact that this doesn't transact soon Chelsea's facing quite interesting cash flow problems And the longer this goes on the harder it is for the team which might be they might get some position where they have to sell players Which could be quite serious So David once a prime of which sells the club he can not reap any of the profits can the government do that a and B what happens to the profits He put out a statement before his sanctions Saying that he would sell the club and he would set up a foundation that would transfer any net proceeds so minus expenses and things To victims of the Ukrainian he calls it victims of the Ukrainian conflict Things have changed then when he became sanctioned He I mean as it stands the license that he Chelsea currently have doesn't allow for the sale The government it's all in the government's hands So government has to in order for the south go ahead has to give another license which enables the sale of sources of saying that the process would pick within esco accounts and they would go to some form of charity presumably connected to Ukraine but not through Roman Abramovich's hands What about the Chelsea fan base They have a global fan base of about a 135 million and we saw what happened when the football clubs tried to announce the formation of the Super League had a fans rebelled against that and swayed public opinion and left the club scrambling so that politicians were acting and the clubs ended up having to retreat and back off their original plan What does the Chelsea fan base what's their take on who they would want to own the club Does that matter at all Inevitably there's a big chunk of the fan base that is very loyal still to run and have a moment It's because of the way that he spent so much money And that has been a bit embarrassing for the club So basically and if you want a view I mean they are wary of any American buyer But football is probably one of the least criticized by them And I think Todd Bowie has done a very good job in terms of his PR I mean one of the things that struck me about this list of names that people that want to buy Chelsea public have Up until today there has been no women So even though Chelsea has one of the most successful women's teams in Europe none of the groups are sort of putting a woman on board And top only has done that with Barbara Sue I think that's quite a clever move really Because he's also got a Tottenham sports on board which is not a great move in the fan size But I think that can be overlooked if you've got the balance of the board right That's David helier Bloomberg UK business reporter of next on the show brackets.

"Is Bloomberg business of sports with Michael Barnes scarlet fu and Mike lynch from Bloomberg radio Thanks for joining us on the Bloomberg business of sports show where we explore the big money issues in the world of sports I'm Michael Bond I'm scarlet fu And I'm Mike lynch The UK froze the assets of Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich as the British government has stepped up its sanctions against prominent Russians over the invasion of Ukraine Now there is a growing number of bids for the team and a prominent U.S. deal maker has entered the fray for more on the story Let's head to London and bring in Bloomberg UK business reporter David hellyer I want to talk about the latest now that we have news on that's now in the mix Todd bully is the U.S. dealmaker planning to take over Of the Chelsea football club and he added a former UK government adviser and a celebrity PR executive to his consortium bidding for the West London team This is turning into just a big old list Not surprisingly There are people coming out of the woodwork all over the place I say not surprisingly because the last time a sort of top really top site Premier League team was up for sale was in 2010 when Liverpool was sold to the Fenway group and other American group There was a chance that Chelsea would be sold in 2019 and Tod boli made it quite clear then that he was interested in buying it But we don't know all the details but he didn't get it then but he's come back and he's kind of like the FrontRunner I guess because he's done a lot of the due diligence a couple of years ago And he seemed to be pretty well set up Right from the beginning There are a lot of bitters that have entered this contest to this unofficial contest I guess I've seen reports of around 20 Has anyone come close To be honest with you I think there's 3 billion was what he wanted in 2019 and he didn't get it then I think now we're looking more around 2 billion The figure that we as KPMG value tilted at 1.8 billion The thing is that obviously in a hotly contested auction prices can go up and over that But against that I think that is a very aware of the fact that this doesn't transact soon Chelsea's safety quite interested in cash flow problems and the longer this goes on the harder it is for the team Which might be they might get some position where they have to sell players Which could be quite serious for them So David once a prime of which sells the club he can not reap any of the profits can the government do that a and B what happens to the profits He put out a statement before his sanction Saying that he would sell the club and he would set up a foundation that would transfer any net proceeds so minus expenses and things To victims of the Ukrainian he calls it victims of the Ukrainian conflict Thanks changed them when he became sanctioned He as it stands the license that he Chelsea currently have doesn't allow for the sale The government it's all in the government's hands So government has to in order for the sales to go ahead has to give another license which enables the sale sources are saying that the proceeds were people in esco accounts and they would go to some form of charity presumably connected to Ukraine but not through Roman Abramovich's hands What about the Chelsea fan base They have a global fan base of about a 135 million and we saw what happened when the football clubs tried to announce the formation of the Super League had a fans rebelled against that and swayed public opinion and left the club scrambling so that politicians were acting and the clubs ended up having to retreat and back off their original plan What does the Chelsea fan base what's their take on who they would want to own the club Does that matter at all Inevitably there's a big chunk of the fan base that is very loyal still to them and have a moment It's because of the way that he spent so much money And that has been a bit embarrassing for the club So basically I mean if you want a view I mean they are wary of any American buyer But football is probably one of the least criticized by them And I think Todd Bowie has done a very good job in terms of his PR and in one of the things that struck me about this list of names that people that want to buy trophy public have Up until today there has been no women So even though Chelsea has to one of the most successful women's teams in Europe none of the groups are sort of putting a woman on board And Todd Bowie has done that with Barbara Sue I think that's quite a clever move really Because he's also got a Tottenham sports on board which is not a great move in the fan size but I think that can be overlooked if you've got the balance of the board right That's David hellier Bloomberg UK business reporter of next.
