But first, I said those cowboys, sorry Marcus, dak Prescott, injured his thumb last night, is scheduled to have surgery today. Sources told our cowboys reporter Todd archer more on this from Adam Schefter in just a moment. The dark cloud in Dallas right now is real. Here's Jerry Jones on his quarterback. Doc. For a little while, and so we'll be dealing with that as well. So this was a really tough night for the cowboys, but and a really surprising night, but of course really add to it right there at the end to lose him for several weeks. Yes, he has an injury above his joint in his thumb up here. That'll need surgery. Got him on a school right now, don't we? Real big. So the plus is, but that's this game. This is horse justice star. We're working on getting Adam Schefter from Seattle, so that coming your way in a little bit, but the reports say 6 to 8 weeks that dak Prescott will be out. Marcus, what are your emotions? This is the first time I'm lost for words. Because I know what's coming with this injury. Like we watched this movie two years ago. And by the way, y'all, it's just so much. But going into the game, that didn't play well before the injury. But y'all know, I sat here all off season and was like, listen, I know he's been injured. He's been out. Tyron Smith is the most important second most important player on this football team. And coincidentally, pressure is why you quarterback is out 6 to 8 weeks. This season. And then, I mean, the game, just not having enough pieces. And I was going to go on this epic rant. But what I will say is this. This is what the Dallas cowboy fans have to come to grips with now. You are not in position to win super bowls. All right? Now, you're talking before the injury? Before the injury, I have to, before the injury after the injury, but before the injury, meaning I did a show together, we talked about how stagnant and what the cowboys didn't do. And then you look across the rest of this league and teams that are really vying to try to win super bowls, okay? The Las Vegas Raiders go out and get devonta Adams. Years ago, the Buffalo Bills go out and get stuff on digs. The initiator, they saying von Miller. Los Angeles Rams goes and gets Odell Beckham junior. They sign von Miller as well. They get Bobby Wagner, this off season. You start looking all across this league. The Cincinnati Bengals. Offensive line is weak and we went to a Super Bowl. Let's spend a $190 million fixing this offensive line, even though they weren't that impressive this Sunday. But you look across this league and this is what the cowboy fans have to start asking themselves. Are you really in position to win a Super Bowl or are you just on a roller coaster they enjoy a season and know that it's gonna come to a screeching halt? Let me answer it for you. It's gonna come to a screeching halt. If this team continues to operate like they are, we're bringing in players to play this game at the level you need to to win. Championships. I like how you said you were gonna give a rant going on an epic rant and then you got there anyway. Literally, 'cause I got more from these two in a moment. Let's get Adam chef we're in here. He's out in Seattle for Monday Night Football. Adam, what more can you add on Dax injury in the timeline here? Well, Lori's having the surgery today, Mike McCarthy, the cowboys head coach, is about to address the situation with reporters in Dallas, but Todd archer our reporter for ESPN nation reported last night that multiple sources multiple told him that the timeline is expected to be 6 to 8 weeks. So if you look at the cowboy schedule, there's a buy, I believe in week 9 before they play a Green Bay. That would knock Jack out for the next 7 games. And then give them the extra buy week to get ready before they have to travel to Green Bay to get ready for a game against the packers. And the interim, the cowboys executive Stephen Jones has said the cowboys will evaluate all quarterback options, but let's stop and think about that. Who is really an option at this time of the year. Jimmy Garoppolo would have to waive his no trade clause in San Francisco to go to Dallas. Why would he want to waive his no trade clause to go to a team right now that's battered on the offensive line that doesn't look like it has a lot of wide receiver help that's expecting dak back later in the season. I don't know that he would do that. What other options are out there? Are there mason Rudolph in Pittsburgh? The bottom line is the Dallas Cowboys are stuck with Cooper rush and will Greer to try to save their season now that dak Prescott is going to be sidelined roughly two months. As you can hear there, Adam out in front of Monday Night Football, there were rehearsing the national anthem more from Adam coming later on in the show. And Mia, you heard what Adam was talking about there. Just the options for the cowboys, but it all goes back to them to Marcus's point, failing to upgrade in the off season. What are your thoughts there? I mean, I don't want to say they're cooked. They're on the pants. Yeah, yeah. Oil is there. The seasonings are there. Someone's just gonna like the match. I've seen people point out that Cooper rush won. And she's back. You tell the truth. That's what you do. She was so negative he kind of took the fun out of it for me. I'm not gonna lie already. No, Cooper rush, who is a sense of your starting quarterback right now. So we want a game last year. To me, the more relevant statistic is that since coming into the NFL, when he is pressured, he is a QBR of 5. And 5 folks, and a lot of that is because he takes sex at an exceptionally high rate, 30% of the time he's pressured it turns into a sec. I don't know if you guys have been paying attention, but the 2014 cowboys offensive line is not walking through that door. So on this particular team with the dearth of weapons, I don't see a backup quarterbacks seating. Maybe if they were, their old roster, you could put in a backup and in the defense, which actually looked decent, could hold up for some games, but with this roster, it just does not. That's why the cowboys have questions that they have to answer internally. Number one is our offensive line as bad as it looked yesterday. That's the question. Is Tyler smith's going to play better than he did not? That's a dominant defensive line in blitz package that they saw with Tampa because if the answer is yes, then the second question is, is Michael Gallup going to be back relatively soon? Because I watched last night, this team on third and short early in that football game getting to a four by one set and throw a slant to Dennis Houston. I'm not trying to be disrespectful. But no matter who the quarterback is, that's not a good matchup versus Carlton Davis. If you believe that your offensive line is going to play better and then you believe that Michael Gallup is going to be back. You got to go make a call to Baltimore and see if you can pull Tyler Huntley out of there. The likelihood, I do not know. Why would Baltimore do that? That's a fair question. But that's a fair question. But if you don't, if you're Dallas, you're wasting a cheap year of Trayvon Diggs, you're wasting a cheap year of Micah Parsons and you're telling your football team, we're done, fellas. We're not trying to win this year. I'm not even a cowboys fan and just putting it on paper, saying it out loud, it's frustrating. It's the performance is the performance, right? We saw teams come out week one and have bad performance. Right. So we watched the rams have a bad performance. We believe they can fix it. But we knew we've been talking about this for months. Dallas is doing nothing. Y'all know, every time a move was made, I'm on Twitter. Hey, go get debo. Go get Hulu. Go get nothing. And this is where you are. You got chargers Kansas City, that's Thursday night, Cincinnati will be at Dallas, Tennessee will be at buffalo, that'll be on Monday. So Cincinnati at Dallas suddenly a big game for the quarterbacks is Joe burrow coming off a 5 turnover day, and then you got Cooper rush as he will be playing, it'll be his second career start filling in for dak Prescott. Todd archer, the mothership broke the news that Dax is going to be out 6 to 8 weeks. He's been covering the NFL since 1997, kind enough to join us on the program. Which play was it that dak ended up hurting his thumb? It was actually a couple of plays, Dan. Where he was throwing a pass and his hand collided with Shaq Barrett, the Buccaneers outside linebacker and then a couple plays later, did the same thing. And then his final throw was a little screen to Ezekiel Elliott, and that's when he ran off the field and he said, I can't grip the ball. So he thought he could just kind of yank the thumb and he felt like it was jammed, and then when the doctors looked at it, obviously it was much more severe than that. It took me to get some x-ray x-rays, found the fracture and here's the cowboy season. Let's go Cooper rush. Is Cooper rush going to be, I'm not going to say long-term, but if I said long-term is 6 weeks, is Cooper rush going to be the quarterback for the cowboys. I tend to believe that to be the case just based on recent history. If you go back to 2015, when Tony Romo suffered a broken collarbone in the second game of the season, they had Brandon weed and asked their starter. He lasted a couple of games. They traded for Matt cassel from buffalo. He came in and went one in 6. And I think that kind of deal that when they made that kind of sour Jerry on the old, hey, let's get a backup veteran quarterback to come in here. Now they had Andy Dalton a couple of years ago. That was a different circumstance. So I think this is going to be Cooper rush. They have will beer on the practice squad and you mentioned the starting half a year ago is 325 yards passing against the Vikings. He did a really nice job on that Halloween night, but this offense is not that offense. Tyron Smith was their left tackle that night. They had Amari Cooper. They had Cedric Wilson. Now it's CD lamb and guys that no one really knows. Yeah, I'm wondering about the Jimmy Garoppolo situation. It felt like that's the night in shining armor come in and rescue our season, Garoppolo is a no trade clause.

"Off in sublime. I understand all of that. I just think when you're getting acclimated with a wide receiving core, or at least somebody trying to step up to be your number one wide receiver, being there in the preseason would have been beneficial. All right, poll question final hour seat and what do you have for me? Dan, we're going to switch things up a little bit. I'll update you on the first hours poll question. We had actually poll questions for hour one and hour two. All right. All right, let's go. Okay. Let's see, worst loss of the weekend still Notre-Dame running away with that one. That's unfortunate. Best loss of the weekend though. Texas longhorns. Sure. All right, way to go. Now we've got another poll question here for hour three. Who's in worst shape today? Nebraska Notre-Dame Texas a and M of cowboys. Okay. Nebraska fires Scott frost. Now now you're ahead of everybody. Not that you planned on being ahead of everybody. Like we're open for business who's interested in coaching Nebraska. And plus, I had people responded to me and said, hey, you got your wish, Scott frost is out. Now urban Meyer could take over the same no, no, I didn't report, I just told you, my source said, Arizona state, if that job came open, that would be something that would be attractive to urban Meyer. Don't rule out Nebraska, but my source also said Nebraska has got a lot of talent and Scott frost might be able to turn this around to get them to have a very competitive season. Well, it didn't happen that way because you lose to George's southern and that was it for Scott frost. And they're going to eat that contract. I also saw some numbers here. Just to put it in perspective with Nebraska. Among Big Ten schools, only one school has had a worse overall record than Nebraska in their four plus seasons under Scott frost. Rutgers. Rutgers has 13 wins. Over that time period, Nebraska has 16, Illinois has 19 Maryland as 19. You don't want to you do not want to keep company with those schools when it comes to football. Rutgers a big win. This was 66 7. Over Wagner. Yeah. Let's go. Wagner from Staten Island. Yeah. Yeah. So Scott frost is out. Now you can see, and they have money to spend, although they have to spend all that money to pay them off. I think it's like $15 million. That's where tuition goes up. And you go, why is tuition going up? It's the Scott frost rule. What? Wait. You're going to go out and get a good coach. Gonna take some money, not that that's going to happen, but I'm just all right. So Nebraska. Cowboys, I didn't have high expectations for them to begin with. It's so the injury 6 to 8 weeks, you're in a division with the eagles who I think are a really good team. Can you be a wildcard team? Because the NFC, you know, not as formidable as the FC. Yes. Feels like though, the cowboys have to be very aware of that window closing. Yeah. It feels like that's starting to the timer's ticking there. Oh yeah. Absolutely. It was ticking before the season started because Philadelphia is a better team. It's just Dallas is going to get more coverage. And so more interest in now what's Dallas do? "The computer chooses it for you based on the point total. You don't choose basically all you do is draft, wait, wait. And let it go. So you take 20 guys. Yes. You are in charge of picking them. Correct, okay? And then each week, you know, all these weeks have projected points. Your draft positions randomly picked by a computer as well, then it's a snake draft. 20 rounds to fill the roster, you have two hours to make a selection. And so your pick may come up while you're sleeping so you have to order players. So it's not randomly selected by a computer and somebody you don't want. So it could start at any time. Good start. Well, it starts. And then it starts the minute all 12 spots, the draft starts. Our started, yes. So we could auto draft, but you can just have your screen open. You have your screen open and you have to order the players, oh my gosh. If you're awake and it's your time to pick. You can literally make correct. This is savage. I have no idea who's in the league. I can only guess it's did you agree to do this? I did, and I became the 11th team. That's one slot open, and he is offered it to the rich accent show. Because cannavale is snoozing. Can I be honest with you? I kind of feel like I'd rather do brockman's league. Oh, wow. And I don't even want to, but you don't even want to do my money. But you're just going to leave it up to God's hands and feet, and then you're just like, no, I mean, you get an email, hey, you're on the clock. You're going to have two hours to make a pick and you don't need to take all two hours. You could just go on the site and see who's available. But if it's one in the morning, if it's one in the morning and you're sleeping up the next day and you see it, Ryan Hart. Well, I mean, you have the best player available. Right. That's part of it. But it could be a position that you already have and you only get 20 roster spots for the whole year. Yeah. Also, one thing I'm very good at in fantasy football is my legal tell you. I'm very good at coming out on top of trades. So there are no trades. No way for wire pickups, no nothing. Then what's the point? I don't know. Man, this is no disrespect to this league, but so you reject it. I have another question. Hold on. Okay. We're back in a second here on the show on the radio. Okay, so the lineup each week, okay? You said, is it all based on whoever has the highest projected point total? That I'm not particular for familiar with it, if the computer is whoever the highest projected point total or actually had the most points in the season so far. Yeah. So if I have four wide receivers, this is going to take the three who are projected the highest that week or obviously if the guys out for a buy or he's injured, they're not going to start an injured or biweek player for you. Did you literally don't set a roster? You just draft 20 12. Let it go. And then just pay attention to the rest of the year see how it goes. What is the buy in? I didn't forget it. Probably like a lot of money. No. What is the payout at the end? Is it winner take all? There's a payout at the end that I'm unfamiliar with right now. I see that the thing about this. How about this? Hold on a second. The thing about this is yes. Fantasy football is like 90 percent lock, right? You just got to get lucky with injuries. And this is a 100%. This is literally a 100%. Except for that, well, except for the fact that if you are, you can drastically draft it if you're awake and it's your time to choose and you get the email you're on the clock and then you get to choose you're the one choosing otherwise you should spend the time apparently take some time. You have to, yes, you have to sort, put them in the queue and you're correct. It's a lot of work. If it wasn't literally, and if it was used, if I proposed this to you, out of rejected it out. I wouldn't even let me get one minute of explaining what's going on. You would have me at goodbye. Right. Hey, I have an idea for a fantasy movie. He doesn't ask for anything. He doesn't invite for much. I'm assuming this is a this is a Paul Rudd John Hamm included league. Right. I feel like I'm assuming this should do it just for that. We don't know, though. Until you don't know your draft order or who's in the league until the draft starts and it doesn't start until a 12th spot is taken. There's one spot left. It's either cannavale or whoever's first to the altar. We could literally say yes next hour. And then the draft starts. And if we got the first overall selection, we make it. Yeah, sure. Why not? Look, guys, I'll be honest with you. This is literally one of the dumbest fantasy ideas I've ever heard. And I'm all in. Let's do it. Let's do it. All right, let's do it. "There's a lot of pieces on this defense that Dan Quinn has a disposable disposal that I think will make them better than they were a year ago, even if they don't get as many takeaways. So this is not over. Jerry said, hey, so look, we're still going to line them up and play. We'll be out there. I think how they get it done is going to be different. And the big part of that is going to be a defense that will be better than it was a year ago when it surprised a lot of people. And I guess what is the whole that Terrence Smith leaves outside of just playing football? I mean, how significant is that based you can tell? I mean, do you have a $40 million quarterback? It's also nice to look over and see number 77 out there as the protector of the blind side. Again, they've gotten used to life without them. Perhaps too much. And this might be his final year with the cowboys because of all the injuries and age and everything catching up to him. But he is a staple guy in that locker room. A guy that's very quiet and when he does talk to the offensive lineman, they'll listen to what he says, but this is as the only loss that in my mind that could be bigger than losing losing tyron Smith would be losing dak Prescott for an extended period of time. And we saw what happened to the cowboys in 2020 when he went down with that ankle injury. All right, so last one for you. I will give you the floor on the story that everybody is assuming will be under the surface the entire season. And that is Mike McCarthy coaching for his job, is he? Do you think this year? Todd? Yes. I do think that's the case. We saw Jerry Jones be a decade long patient with Jason Garrett. So you always have to remember that out there, always remember that Jerry said one of his biggest regrets is only giving Chan gailey two years, but I do think for a variety of reasons that he is coaching for his future. And the Sean Payton shadow will linger over this team, but rich, I don't think Sean Payton will be this team's head coach in 2023. Why? I believe it will be somebody else could be Dan Quinn. Should be Kellen Moore, could be someone we're not even thinking of. But I don't think it'll be Sean Payton, but that shadow every week when they lose or if there's a coaching decision that goes wrong, everybody is going to try and tie Sean back to the cowboys because of the relationship he's had with Jerry being a former assistant and all that stuff. So but the good part for my perspective on Mike McCarthy is how he's just kind of said, hey, I don't care about this stuff. Right. I can't control it. Have fun with your narratives. I'm just going to coach my team. And he seems like a much more relaxed coach this year than he has in his previous couple of seasons. Yeah, I spoke to him after the draft and that was right in the moment where everyone was really wondering where I was. Maybe the fourth draft, I think. Because after the combine, I spoke, that's what it was. It was after the combine and after he made those comments, Jerry did that was on Dallas Cowboys dot com talking about how so many assistants don't take jobs elsewhere as head coaches because they know they've got a great shot to be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys right eventually. He did sound totally at peace, if you will with that, although a little bit disturbed and how he had to talk to Dan Quinn saying, hey man, don't leave just because you think it would be awkward if you stay. Put out altogether. Why don't you though think that Sean Payton would be the guy? Why are you so, you know, I guess decisive. I think that was something that maybe a couple three, four years ago, almost came to fruition when Jason Garrett was the coach. But I just think too much time has passed. And the money that Sean may or may not want might be out of Jerry's realm of what he wants to pay coaches, remember he's the guy that said, I can get 500 coaches in here to win a Super Bowl back in the Jimmy Johnson Todd. And if Sean wants to have full and final thing, that's never happening here, despite the head coach, having an awful lot of influence. It's still he was still wouldn't get everything he wants. I just don't, I think it's all of us trying to put two and two together. And it may equal four, but I think for the cowboys for people that have talked to Jerry, I just think it's a something that is kind of passed its overdue. It's not going to happen now. It's the next man up, and that's how you got to look at it. You can sit here and be down, but the fact of the matter is you've got some highly paid experience professional grown men and out there, you just got to step up next man up. Rich, how are you? I'm doing well. Walk me through what's going on with tyron Smith sir, please. Suffered a torn hamstring off the bone in practice last night, MRI first got some good news. MRI, hey, the ACLs intact because when you went down and you saw the video on Twitter, it was like, oh, that doesn't look good. But then later on, you get more word and it's the torn hamstring. You could have surgery as early as today. Meeting with cowboys doctors might seek a second opinion as well. But just to talk with Jerry Jones after his appearance on first take and he said, the battle cry now is to get this taken care of and will be that much stronger when tyron comes back at the end of the season when the cowboys are getting ready for a playoff run. So clearly Jerry says the optimism that even losing your 8 time Pro Bowl left high. And replacing him with a guy that's never played left ACL potentially on your doctor is still going to be all well and good for the Dallas football cowboys. Well, what do you think, John? If you had to play a game today, starting left guard of Conor mcgovern, not Tyler Smith. And Tyler still has a lot of room to learn and grow. You don't just put rookies out there. Well, now you might need to put them out there at left tackle. It's not the best way for the cowboys to start this season. I mean, that's it. I mean, I guess the best laid plans, the plan was to get this kid up to speed whenever they felt comfortable putting him out there and the idea that so many people were saying on draft night is he's not going to be able to play in this league without considerable seasoning and now one day after the coaches and we don't even know if we could hide them at the guard position, which is kind of the phrase that you hear when a kid is not ready to be put out on the edge, that says everything, doesn't it?

I had this feeling about the Dallas Cowboys months ago. Their month of March and then their follow-up in April in my mind did not make them a better team. In a matter of fact, if you look at what happened in the moves and losing Randy Gregory and sending Amari Cooper away and knowing that Michael Gallup wasn't returning and then their draft, the way that I looked at it all put it all together, I thought to myself and then said into this microphone that the cowboys did not improve themselves. As a matter of fact, if I'm not mistaken, that was the number three item back in June that I said I was willing and trying to talk myself into about the 2022 football season. And I said that the cowboys were not going to be as good as last year. And now, today, August 25th, I think something happened yesterday to confirm. That the cowboys are not as good as the team that won the division last year and then got one and done by the San Francisco forty-niners. Tyron Smith, their anchor at left tackle whenever he is healthy. Wound up hurting himself in practice yesterday and you're reading the first blush reports that Jerry Jones thought it's not that big of a deal. Right. And you also heard that his teammates thought it wasn't that big of a deal that I guess he grunt. He gave he gave a grunt as he came off the field and his teammates can now interpret his grunts and his grunt that they thought could be interpreted was that he was going to be okay. He's very far from okay to use the Pulp Fiction phraseology. And it appears he might have his 2022 playing privileges revoked by the injury gods. My colleague from the NFL media group, Ian rappaport, adding more information to what Todd archer and Adam Schefter reported yesterday that it was a feared to be a significant leg injury, perhaps his knee and as it turns out it was his hamstring, his left hamstring torn, and according to Ian rappaport, where it tore was not in the middle of it, it tore off the bone. As it attaches to the back of his knee, and that sounds as awful, or it sounds pretty awful, and it probably is as awful as it sounds. So 2022 may be done. For them, so it goes from tyrant Smith to Tyler Smith. And that's the kid that they drafted 24th overall.

You have to be symptom free and then have to negative tests separated by twenty four hours before you can return and plus. There's a day you need to pass conditioning aspect of this thing as well so The timing of it is not great for the dallas cowboys and connor mcgovern will be. They're starting right guard against a run defense. That was best in the league last year. Down in tampa bay. So it's there's so many question about the cowboys. Just add this one to the mix. Yes can be tough for connor but he. He did play a lot of games last year as well. What what's the protocol now for zack. Martin how does the nfl key take fans through what needs to happen from the time that he has tested positive to what needs to occur for him to get back on the field jay. That's kinda limited his practice here the last couple of weeks. Colonel williams just got off the cova list The other day and it's only now returned to practice and left taco tyrant smith. We played two games last year for next surgery. Now he's saying he feels as good as he's ever felt but again you talked about continuity and what you want in your offense line the cowboys going to this opener without really any continuity on their offensive line plus tack playing his first game and three hundred and forty days. I it's it's not the optimum way that you'd want to enter a season opener for sure we're talking to. Espn cowboys reported. Todd archer. i. I think that the last point you made is significant. I mean this is the first time we've seen we have seen back in a very long time. So what sort of impact is all of this. Make to what we should expect to see from him. Well clearly there has to be some worry right because we've talked about tampa run defense and how good the linebackers are and they have every started back from last year. He's able to do everything from the ankle so if he doesn't play well thursday night. I don't think it would be health related. It'll be what is surrounding him at the moment. And maybe you obviously some rust from not having played a game from from last october. You know it's funny. The cowboys started training. Camp saying we want to get dak. Prescott preseason action. we don't want his. I live work against tampa bay. Well then he has. The shoulder sat back. And then like. Oh that's overrated. We really don't need that that's okay. They're attacking the the the the front guys are back to what they did under rod marinelli get up the field no reading react. Just get up and go that serves demarcus lawrence. Well that serves Randy gregory well. So they're outside. Pashas can just get up and go You know they're they're linebacker. Core micro parsons first. Round pick has looked outstanding. And you think okay. This guy's ready to make a huge impact. But you also have to dial back. He's a rookie in his first game. As into quarterback. When tom brady was a rookie mica person was sixteen months old. So you know. There's a lot of difference there between experience levels between those guys in the secondary they feel okay about it. I think the cowboys will be better. I think if their offense is gonna have to help them and play complementary football. Don't turn it over. Put up some points make it easier for them to play defense and if they can finish in the middle of the league sixteen from twenty eight and that's not only a huge improvement. Champion buccaneers is in fact two weeks from today very exciting stuff but yesterday wednesday was a jam packed day with tons of dallas cowboys news. So we're going to run through it. We're going to try to be as chronological as possible but we are going to jump around because there's a lot anyway so on tuesday. The dallas cowboys. Well you know they abided by. Nfl rules they cut their roster down from eighty five to eighty players. But the thing is the cowboys only had two technically move on from one player because they had four players on the reserve cove in nineteen at the time. Carlos watkins who along with dan quinn left. At and t. stadium early last saturday night. Headed the game against the houston texans. So carlos watkins their cd lamb me cooker and israel. Mu cuomo's that's two safeties on the list. During tuesday's practice to cowboys held fellow safety demotic. He's out during the early parts of practice as a precautionary sort of thing and donovan. Wilson seemingly experienced a groin injury. So now you're caught up from tuesday's activities on wednesday. The day got started with the dallas cowboys. Activating kicker greg's are aligned himself from the physically unable to perform us the publis. So the cowboys in my mind. At least we're at eighty players. When wednesday morning began. And then they activated greg. My head is racing running. Okay well what goes up. Must come down. If the cowboys are eighty one. They are now going to have to get back down to eighty whereas the other cut well. Mike mccarthy took to the podium on wednesday for his press conference and he revealed that the dallas cowboys added two more players to the covert list. Safety demong tasty who again was held out of the early portions of tuesday's practice as a precaution is in fact on the reserve cove in nineteen list himself and left guard connor williams that brings the cowboys below the eighty man threshold. That gave the cowboys. Six players in totality that are on the reserve cove in nineteen lists but one of them is romo. Cuomo did practice on wednesday which is a good thing to see. "What do you make of. Michael irvin's comments that unvaccinated players don't want to win badly enough okay so for you younger people who may not remember michael. Irvin was one of the greatest. Why receivers of all time and you may remember some of the off the field stuff but the one thing that everybody always saved from troy aikman on down. Nobody was more dedicated to winning and willing to make whatever the sacrifice was to win. The michael irvin. So he did an interview with todd archer of espn where he looked at teams that had met that vaccination threshold and looked at players and said if you are not getting that jeff. I question how badly it is that you want to win. And i didn't hear any audio of this. But yuki here michael irvin saying this stuff and you could hear the way he's going about it and the truth is he's right. We talk a lot of things about what people are willing to do to win and people willing to go too. Far in some cases to win the vaccine is not even close to that on the list of injections that people have been willing to get to try to win in football. The vaccine is probably the safest one they anybody has ever come up with. I do wonder who it is here. That and then change their mind about the way that they are approaching this. Because we are in a swirl of people getting all kinds of information from all kinds of people that you should never ever listened to and in many cases the guy you probably should never ever listened to is michael irvin except for this right like he is the voice of reason here in. Senate was truly a choice and now they're feeling very pressured and they're feeling bullied and they're feeling shamed into getting vaccinated and that essentially that is now turned into why they have some hesitation about getting vaccinated to me. That's actually really hard to swallow. I would be much easier to believe or at least offer some sympathy for someone that says i just. I don't want to do it. I have concerns medically or whatnot. Then someone that doesn't wanna do it strictly in purely out of pride which it sounds like some players you're doing they're literally hesitating it in the vaccine because they don't want big brother the nfl telling them to do it. I want to do what i want. That sounds like cartman from south part. That's crazy to me. I still believe it needs to remain a choice with that being said just like every other situation in life namely going to school if you choose not to vaccinate your children that is up to you. But they can't go to regular school and in the same way. The nfl is doing that. You don't wanna get vaccinated fine but you will not enjoy some of these special privileges. And i don't want to hear a thing about it. Yeah i think l. That dynamic you mentioned between the league and the players is something we always have to keep in mind in the backdrop of all this bottom line is they made it a football vision. Which interesting about hearing this from. Michael irvin is you could say this in a lot of ways about the player today versus the players of michael irvin's era in the things they were willing to do in the name of winning and wanting a bad and how a lot of those things have been undone by information like we have a group of players now that have enough information things like cautions about things like opioids to now make more informed decisions about their bodies and they're getting enough money early on to usually say. Hey if this is something that's really going to affect my long term health. I'm ready to call this quits. They're approaching the game in a lot. Different way overall and so the idea that the information they are getting about something like the vaccine that is a net positive for their health and safety wouldn't be well received kind of runs counter to all that for all the reasons that we know and all the things that we know this is really become about. Say about a week ago that seventy percent of nfl players have at least one shot which is right about the national average bringing this all the way back to michael irvin's point once you make this a football decision average is hardly ever the thing that's accepted especially in these circles and so now that it is a football decision. We had more with college fans using this geared towards the players there were there used to a lot of different ways trying to govern what those players do with their bodies instead.
