"So they hit on the mark. Like laura said i. I used to live in the money. We used to drive the twenty minutes to baldwin park because that was the only one they had for a while you could went to john's bonds and grew your own burger and twenty minutes plus thirty minute. Wait that's an a plus twenty minutes back. That's like an hour and a half. I'll say this though. I think now lee is catching on. Hasn't been this even when we go to ballpark when it was maybe about fifteen minutes. It's just that now people realize you know it's you know. Whenever i talked to my friends that come over from other states the first thing they say is we gotta go to in and they do they. Do they do an excellent job of making sure his height i went to in and out. I mean. I don't do fast food. But i was like pete this out and i was like i understand i get it. It's an intellectual thing for me. I understand what it is. It just isn't the kind of theme that gets me going. I wanna go back over and over again now. Maybe they start giving raised pre rolls with no along with my shot. We can make it a one star business thing. It is true though. People do come to southern california and he'll land and they'll say the first thing i used to do it before i left ear. Yeah i know. My parents are flying in their landing tonight and i just know my mother immediately. We'll be like let's go to in and out because we don't have them in florida you know and she'll want to go and i'll go. Is that really how your mom sounds. My mother thinks. Honestly my mother's sounds like andrew dice. Clay seriously to this day. She hasn't lived in brooklyn in fifty years to this day. She still sounds like andrew dice. Clay on it's awesome. It is one of the like one of the things. I used to love when i was living in new york and you know relationships and stuff was actually meeting the relatives of some of the jewish guys. I was dating going. Yep i've heard that before. I always thought it was cool. Yeah i mean that is my mother. She'll she'll get off that plane and she'll go sell. Your father. And i were having a discussion. We were talking. We'd like to go to in and out if you don't mind and on our way we will go by the way crimson tide. Is the gene hackman. A good one. It is a good movie. Thank you punch. Oh man and he took the conto and george you were talking about how you don't like rudy and hoosiers because they're not believable but then said you like the natural which is complete no but i also was likes like six when that movie came out. It was a little different. When it's still about the movie itself got lower. And i don't think could watch the natural now. I was ten when hoosier came out like at ten. I kinda get it more than when i was six when the natural came out you also hate field of dreams or gonna hate that movie. I'm not a huge field of dreams. I don't talk movie. I like eight men out to good. Good basement is a good movie night. I like a league of their own. But here's the thing. I don't like sports movies. That are obvious. Ego tripping showcases for actors and the sport secondary if the sports the important thing in a movie. then i'm in but if you can tell. The sport is really just an opportunity for an active. I'm not really into that. A by the way i'd much rather watch glory road ten times out of ten over hoosiers. Oh make it. I'll do it eleven times out of ten. There's first of all it's it's a. It's it's based on a real i know hoosiers is loosely based on a real story no texas western is a real story and it's the most important basketball story ever in college sports okay. So there's that and ridley scott directed it. I like ridley ed. Pat riley was the was the technical consultant on the movie because he played in the game. So you go anyway. Kurt warner's movie which they're filming now and they're putting out some videos or pictures dude. It's getting discount. I mean people are just crushing it. Can you hear laura telling me. We got thirty seconds for me to do a sixty seven live ryman. Come on no actually. I couldn't hear. I couldn't hear it all right. We're gonna be late. Sorry loara so anyway. We could get that water story tomorrow. Great job l z and cap. Excellent job greg..

"Say they're both underrated. I love taking a look inside of people's homes because you get a sense of their values right and once you get a sensitive values especially if an artist you understand the arctic create a lot more. I'll never forget when i saw missy. Elliot's bedroom. I have so much respect for her afterwards like i love to beforehand and then i thought a better on girl you bad girl girl. Don't i'm easily originally was great. Yeah but the new one we know who the host of the new one. No i do not love of course come in you know greg radio for no follow up come on just wanted to know my agent. Hey we got people on the line that agree about in and out. Don't go anywhere. We're literally going to be back in three minutes but first a look at traffic people are calling those the they are agreeing with you in and out which is wild there we go so does the cap with you here on seven ten. Espn we'll take you up till five nba finals. Game number four goes the. I'm sorry we're just mad griner grinding dunk. That finger rolls and open lane still dunk. Get up there so real quick. We got people on. Hold those who agree with your take on in and out because you don't know you're like what am i missing on and out other than a what longline right so let's go to david instill mart. Who agrees with you. David was that david some sir what you got for us. I just wanted to say I totally agree with l z. I find it ironic that a in-and-out commercial came on the break That is such a overrated place to be honest. There's so many burger places out there these days. They're fries or terrible overrated. I wouldn't go that far. But i mean it's great. It's great fast. Food is what it is. Okay if you wanna put it. I worked in fast casual for like ten years man. So i know fast food. I know fast casual it is. It is a good fast food burger. But i mean that's what it is. I mean it's trash. No listen to me. There is a taste that only in and out has and it's probably the combination of the grilled onions and the thousand island the sauce the spread sauces good. There's a combination of the bread and the grilled onions that no other fast food burger can duplicate and and i don't know about everybody else but that's the taste that i desire one. And here's what in and out is okay. And this is the difference. You thousand island. I i literally had a patio said. Hold the thousand island. Oh see. I love thousand island of thousand island. Yeah okay. i don't care if it's a thousand calories. I love it Here's what in and out has over everybody and everybody in that space okay. Freshness they can guarantee freshness which is why they only are in a certain region of the country. They don't expand beyond that they messing around. I think the furthest goes texas. And they do it because they can guarantee freshness when you eat something good inequality that's how it works. Anybody ever hear of a protein style burger before the lettuce wrap black. I didn't know that like until until i went into now. And they were like. Oh you can do this. Protein sign like oh. I don't even have to do the bread. Which by the way i mean. I'll do that at times when i'm feeling guilty but it's not the same but breads not great for you as much as i love it. Well of course it's not all becomes sugar at the end. You know like anything. That's a carb. The bread is a big part of that in and out burger. And even though i will do the protein style. It's just not as good. Okay let's go to the phones Who else do i have here. I'm sorry for whatever reason my career he's on the on a phone call so you may want to bring him down peter in the valley. What's up peter. The yo yo. Hey peter hey. L. z born and raised using the valley graduated from earth. Hollywood high. I got a couple of things. First of all one hundred percent totally overrated and the wendy's bacon canadian blows it away. You guys are getting paid or nora has no. I'm not crazy. Look i am born and raised and i literally grew up in baldwin park. Where the first in and out happen to emerge and that was like my plays you are not going to sit here and tell me or tell everybody that wendy's is the same as an adult here. Not quick were a quick one hundred percent bacon eight or way better agree with you. L z george movie critic. How you hate hoosiers to brilliant actors. Gene hackman and dennis hopper do hate at. The natural with robert redford right. That was my actually did like the natural. But i think the problem with hoosiers is just doesn't seem believable. Of course it's believable. It's an analogy is a great actor. As a matter of fact. I think one of my favorite movies with gene hackman is what was the submarine movie. He did with denzel washington. Wow that was. I remember the day. That was a good one to the nether sports movie. That was great that you hated hoosiers and another one. Oh rudy rudy on man. Oh rudy throw rudy. Rudy is just released. Just propaganda for notre dame bro. Stop that rudy's awful lot of people or not ever really happened. Oh yeah that's the other thing to say. More time scott for say overtime. Many people ask joe montana. Hey joe you remember rudy ruediger in that one play against georgia tech in joe montana's like who when you're talking about right about that. Yeah no totally. It's all made for the movie. I get it but you you said it was horrible movie but alyce. One hundred percent rather overrated. What hundred percent. Sure let me tell you one thing. Wendy's does have an underrated burger because people don't say burger king mcdonald's in and out crozier or whatever it is when he's a bit underrated all but the bacon ater over an in and out. I'm still taking the in and out all right there you go. Let me go to jason and jason. So i love my boy elsie. But that dude woke up today in chose violent like donald. You hit it perfect. It is fast food people. Tell me all the time. Oh there's checking. Colbert their smash burger. Now there's monte there's yes those are freaking restaurant gotta get down. I gotta get down right. Yeah question for you brother. Are you a long time listener. Downey i'll causes all the time. I'm just checking because as a longtime listening you would know that. I don't really mess with fast food. So where are you sure. You don't get like. I tell my wife ellie. You don't get a body like that by evening. When i eat so let me tell you something. It's not even the saudi. Because just it's just you know you can go to a towns or gyms burger but it's just not the same as not consistent. I'd rather you know the fast food..

"Get the help them guys. They shut up and listen right exactly. I'll do that from now. Yeah anyway quick so we can continue this. We're we're gonna play overrated underrated here to say. What can we convince. Can we got people on the phone. I like about it out on for z. Here because i said what is he missing so hit us up eight seven seventeen. Espn tell us what he's what he's missing. Eight seven seven seven seven three seven seven six. We're not gonna break. I'm just going to tell you about my friends at underdog sports. And we're going to go right from that into overrated underrated and take your calls at eight seven seven seven spn right. Thank you very much chris. And l z. It's birthday time for you ready. Don't mess with me greg. Jane lynch. I'm going to pluck your eyebrows or phoebe waller bridge not easy. No the first one jane. I'm going to say sheets underrated. Yep he's the one. Jane lynch yes yes her performances her roll her character on the marvelous. Mrs maisel mazel mazel is. It's like you said naval. I mabel at one point and i was like no is mazel. What i'm talking about Outstanding yeah she is so good at nuance and dry humor. She is the female bob newhart. Or maybe bob newhart is the male jane lynch. I can't tell but. I love her brand of humor and her delivery and deadpan. Looks spot on underrated. Yeah i i would agree. I'm also not super duper familiar with phoebe waller bridge. I know i saw her in solo and she's been in a couple of movies that and on some tv shows. I get it. I just not super into her work. Jane lynch has been around forever and has been fantastic in a lot of rules. I'm way more familiar with our work. So i would agree with those e. Yeah i'm going to have to make that all three. When i think of jane lynch's maybe a little bit off the beaten path here but does anybody remember her character in the forty year. Old virgin where she's the manager of the electronic store. Yes i don't know why. But for some reason i hear her name and that's what i think of rather than thinking of glee or some other stuff that she's been in as for phoebe waller bridge. I'm like i don't really really know her stuff. So i gotta go with. Jane lynch is underrated as well. Next all right sodano. Candace parker became the first female cover athlete on. Nba two k. She and luka doncic or the to cover athletes this year is this overrated underrated. Who were the two athletes. I cut out there. Candace parker and luka doncic first female cover athlete right. And i think it's It's underrated they have a cover with kareem on it. It's kareem kevin durant and somebody else. That's super old school. I forgot but anyway long story short. Yes completely underrated. The fact that can this is the first female. Look if they'd ever did it for at least a leslie the next person. I think they could have done it for or sheryl soups for that matter. The next person that deserves it is candice so i would say underrated l z. Would you like to take this next or would you like me to go next. You can go all right. I'm gonna go over and here's why because it's video game covers. I think we make way too much of his nine. We'll say this it's very cool that she's the first female to be on these covers and by the way she should certainly not be. The last female plays college soccer. I keep trying to say to my daughter. Think five years into the future. As this women's professional soccer league gets going and gained traction think out into your future kid. There's an opportunity for you that you didn't have two years ago so i love this for women's sports but i just think these video game covers are overrated. So i'll go on the other side. Okay i love the honor for her Personally but i am very disappointed that you wait until all these years that she was past her prime to do this. I'm disappointed that you let meyer more ball out in this league. And you didn't even put her on the cover when she was killing the game. A ridiculous level. I'm disappointed that you don't have sabrina on there. Now who is the baller today or brianna. Who is the ball of today. But because you're behind schedule you had to start with kansas at. She's already passed her prime. But it's not that she doesn't have a career that's worthy of recognition. I just wish that the video game industry hadn't been so far behind in the loop that they look like. They're perpetually just behind in the loop because these young women coming in and lead today they out there balling. Y'all they're ready. I'm actually watching the usa women's team against the wnba all-stars right now in the all star game By the way the other coverage. So one covers luca. Luca deserves it dude. People love luca like the kids love. Luca and lucas. A polar. bro mike. Two year old knows luca. Okay like literally goes. Oh luca so you know. He's doing something right. Candice deserving mention the other cover which is the Legends cover has kareem dirk nowitzki and kevin durant on it which is fascinating as legend already while he's still playing. So that is the case. I what's next greg. One more cap. Mtv is bringing mtv cribs back after twenty years since its original release. So was the original mtv cribs and will the new mtv cribs be overrated underrated. So the original. Mtv cribs was very underrated. I love mtv cribs. I'm one of those guys that likes to go to somebody's house and i can't help it. I'm like a dog. I like to sniff around. I like to see what's going on. I loved mtv cribs. I just absolutely love being welcome into their home. And i see all their stuff. I loved it. I'll say overrated for the new one for this reason because i don't even know where. Mtv is on my cable. I haven't watched mtv in years. I mean if you told me to go find mtv. I'd have to do an entire search. Did you have direct. Tv is do. I have direct tv. No i use spectrum cable okay direct. Tv it's in the three hundred somewhere. But you see what i'm saying like i would know. Mtv years ago the way. I would know where espn would be. I don't know where it's at so underrated. The original the reboot overrated. I'm going to say overrated. Those reboots tend to not be very good. And i'll just leave it at that elsie. I'm.

"Already. What's this i have. I have had holland race. Okay chauncey billips when he worked at this company and on nba countdown bought jalan razor. The whole damn building added delivered and it was delicious me myself ninety minutes in a line. No i waited thirty a drive through. And i felt like that was excessive for the popeye's tell me about a man. Try going into any in and out. I mean is there ever an in and out where the drive thru isn't in and out anymore. Because of it to be honest with you in and out as my papa chicken sandwich you wait for that. That's mine away for vega. I don't use great thank fine. It's fine it's fine it is fine. It ain't an hour is fine. no come on. Is it really worth an hour's wait a minute. Two o'clock in the morning and you're waiting in line. I've definitely waited. And he said was gleaned his voice f around you. I mean there's there's plenty of them you can go to different areas. Yeah i mean. I listened by the original one. One by me is always slammed. I don't understand why not smoking the right stuff or something. Like i just never ever have found myself going. Ooh i got to get to an end and out like i've never had that experience i've driven by been like. Oh there's a lot of people there. okay. I'll stop in if i'm hungry but usually it's like oh. Dan thinks full. You guys ever had animal fries in and out. I have i mean these things are insanity i actually think they're fries a they're not very good well. A lot of people share that opinion. But if you dress them down all of course. The onions dress greg. He's a catch. I can take greg elliott. I can take him to like one of our suit guys. You know what. I mean like all of a sudden greg look like you know tom cruise out there. You give her some time. Give us a good threes. we'll have grandma. We'll pluck his eyebrows. A little bit could.

"Cap boneless chicken wings is just rebranded. Tenders between tenders and nuggets okay. Well that's just it right. Because a boneless chicken wing is more of a ball of chicken whereas whereas a chicken nugget is more of a flattened kind of a thing and then a tender is a lot longer so it is. It's got to be like somewhere in the middle of a tender and a nugget. Okay show you a picture of the popeye's nuggets. I'm going to say something. That i know is going to piss everybody off but here goes okay. Even if they turn the popeye's chicken sandwich into a nugget or even if it were the exact same thing and it were attender. I'm gonna tell you right now. I know this is not a popular statement. I may get the sound effect that could get us knocked off the air but here goes in. Ain't that good. You're entitled to your opinion. I mean the pump is chicken. Sandwich for all the hype. I had to go get a couple of myself. i've had a few. I've gone back and forth trying like okay. What is the obsession with the sandwich i've had it. I just don't love it. There's vanilla e. sorta sweetness to it. That gives an aftertaste that i don't love. is there. Tartar sauce methodist picture of nuggets. It looks like that's a ranch and the other one is a barbeque. But it looks like laura's they look like little boneless wings they look like what scott was referring to. They look like if you went to kfc. And you've got the extra crispy. It looks like they were the extra crispy nuggety things or if you just go to wingstop and use the boneless on to appreciate the fact that you can see fibers real chicken eggs real nervous. Some nuggets people are ready for it. There's all i'm saying. The internet is ready for it. What's wrong with the tenders man. Nothing wreck are you a chicken. Nugget person. Like you've seen this picture. Would you eat these i would. I mean these look really good. The fibers that you're talking about are you can see them. They look tasty. Yeah i would eat this. I don't care that it's a nugget attender. Whatever you wanna call it a wing. It looks just looks good. I will say the picture does make them look like i'm gonna pop about one hundred of them. You know what. I mean like pombal. That isn't and i will wait thirty minutes in line like i did that. One time for the sandwich and it was only one time that sandwich by the way. I actually recently on national chicken day. We did that the other day. National fried chicken day. Whatever it was last week. I went over to popeye's and got chicken sandwich. Do you know what today is by the way we always do these national days. Yohe today is national blank. Date today is what today's national nude day. Ooh national nude day. I l z would accelerate that more than any of us myself today. So that's going to happen although you might much information greg. You're welcome very welcome. Everybody wanted to hear it. So i just wanted to a taste or choice between the senses. I would rather hear than the others too. Yeah so anyway Real quick oh shut out to just win baby who tweeted me said. Don't forget about nate. Dogg oji voices. Excellent excellent point. Yes so real quick cap. You asked me a question. Before we get to overrated underrated about. I think lonzo would like to be in la. I think that lonzo would like to be the lakers. But i do think lonzo priority is getting paid which it should be. It should be at this age. He can get paid with us not unless they trade shooter and and it's got to be signed already done to trade. I mean you gotta give new orleans has to want shooter in. That's right you'll have to want schreuder that is true and they like zo and zion together. Then they probably won't like shrewsbury enzyme together because they're almost one eighty. I actually think though booth for schreuder like a trade that would make some sense is toronto. Because you can get lowry net and you can end the international guys love. Toronto messiah knows this guy's when they won the championship. International guys on that team. True true it is a fantastic international a beautiful city off and and the american guys don't love it there but the international guys love it there because it is a beautiful international city. I think the brothers who wear locks or get their hair braiding loves it there because of the high population of caribbean people that are available to do the hair that is fair also loves it there. Gary trent junior because dad played there so he wanted to play there and he gets down. I don't know the shack from the mac played in toronto bro. They love him there and now the junior's there remember he went there in that trade for From portland what's his face trade there that would ucla. Greg boy know anybody played with the portland now. Norman powell norm empowerment. Sounds like in toronto. There is nobody up. Shot on ucla. Guys norman powell got traded gary. Changing your answer. Yeah so anyway. I think lonzo is gonna wanna get paid and i think the lakers thing is more important to them. I think getting paid is more important to do. You believe that. He understands that he can get paid off court because men listen when you look at hold on one. I though once. I i know what you're gonna say. Let me let me just express this okay whenever you see the forbes less of the highest paid athletes many if not almost hall of the domestic ones have their incomes great be supplemented by all these deals right. It's not about. Their salaries is not about their salaries. Exactly and in fact there are even some others players in other sports. Like there was one year roger federer was was number one in the world and he had only one like fifteen million dollars or something on the court and the other. Like hundred and fifty million dollars came from endorsements. So i'm not saying that he should not pursue as much money as possible. I'm just saying if he has a desire to return home but it's also seeking to get paid. I don't think those things have to be mutually exclusive in other. He doesn't have to depend on a big contract to get paid. Because when you're a laker. Look at alex caruso you can start sending tonal. Yeah yeah and and he's only twenty three years old so it's not like this is your one and only shot or hurt. You always gotta factor that. I'll i'll buy that part of it. But i think that there's so much cachet for a kid who's from southern california. Who played at ucla who was drafted by the lakers. Who failed to come home and get paid. Maybe not the maximum amount of dollars. He might be able to find out there elsewhere but the opportunity to come home play with this team contribute to win possibly win a championship over the next two to three years. And then maybe he's actually set up so that when lebron is done he's the guy on one of the guys on that guy goes men says sodano. L z cap is right. I love food and can get in line but popeye's chicken sandwich was the product of the product on social media. That sandwich was salty as hail Like blaine antoine said hated. It hated it..

"Pretty good assurance well they be play well together. Yeah there is no doubt about it but you know who else play. Well together steph. Auburn and kevin garnett but sometimes playing well together enough to keep young talent together and when you consider how lonzo left or basically was shown the door and yet he's been able to maintain what appears leads on the outside a very good relationship with lebron james h i may add At least in terms of the public eye isn't normal. Like normal is andrew wiggins right trade away. Don what you ain't got time for your moving on blah blah business like these maintain a relationship and i think part of the reason why the relationship able to maintain because bron wasn't making it up when he said that zoe was awesome right that he he earnestly believe that and because of that there's a respect that he has for him as a ball player and i gotta believe that that little kernel right. There is an indication of whether or not the franchise as well as oh might both be open to a return. I gotta think. I gotta think that zo would definitely be interested in a return. I mean this is where he's from. This is where he got his start as where he played college ball. This is where he failed. This is where he would like to succeed. I mean i would think for the player. It's an absolute no brainer. Wrong i mean. Do you not think it's like an automatic for him that he would want to come back and play for the lakers. Yeah i think he would but let me tell you more on the other side. Let's do that. And i also want to get into some situation. The situation is going on with why and speaking of situations all man. If you thought the popeye's chicken sandwich was going to be a hot ticket item way to you. Hear what's next for you. Foodies out there okay. Got pre rose. There was no no. No no. But i got some. That could help you once. You get the munchies part. So we'll get to that in a couple of seconds as well. It was jam. We're happened man. I mean we're thirty. We need a sixty sixty actuary. Yeah i mean. There's a lot going on there with john you say like you know. I never thought we'd get another famous job. Thankfully mirant came around. You know man. There's always space for a job. Yeah i mean you can go back to a bob marley. His own said jar. That's fair that's fair did you. Gyro is only forty five years old man so he started when he was like sixteen. Leave feels like that. He was so young. Burder right is crazy cash money. Click nineteen ninety four ninety five man so he was yeah. he's a baby. Yeah nothing i mean. he's crazy. He was a big deal there already. And then the solo career started right after the voice. Man yeah you know. It's like his voice. yeah Chuck d d arrested. Rents exactly man certain voices man. It almost doesn't matter what they say. Onyx member of the group. I do remember onyx. Saw about the voice so it is all about the voice. But it's all about the taste when it comes to food and okay remember. People went wild when popeye's chicken sandwich. And even i who don't like to ever be in line said one day all right what the with it. I will go to the one in close by and i will wait in line. It wasn't too bad. It was thirty minutes taking your life in your hands. At that point it was only thirty minutes in the drive through. It wasn't serious. People were nuts about these sandwiches. Yeah so they are coming out next with something that they had not had on the on the menu an item known as chicken nuggets. Somehow what out you outta. Popeye's chicken nuggets amount chicken nuggets buryat. Why white meat. I see it. They cut it. I mean you know my husband. I'm not afraid of white meat. Problem is is that is just small. Tenders tenders man. That's whereas at does public tenders so what. I got to mess around with nuggets. Well maybe for the kids. You know what i mean. It's my son's twenty four. "I one fifty get a joints for the job you go do. We know what flower i mean. The listeners are very sophisticated and they want detail george it doesn't specifically say in this particular story half oregano right there. I don't think it's oregano because again it's from the long beach collective so it's like real stuff you know and i'm trying to think one hundred and fifty. I mean really. I'm i'm a little surprised. Really i mean if you're really trying to incentivize a lot is what you're saying i'm saying that if you told me it was a thousand i'd be like okay. That's because at one hundred and fifty. You might have a line of thousand and by the way when you talk about pre rolls. Sometimes these things are pre rolled in there. So gosh darn tight that they don't earn well and you gotta start doctoring. These things up. I mean i may have to go in and examine what you're giving away. There's nothing like you know just a little saliva to stop a run. What i'm saying like it's okay. I was thinking warm-up the priroda earn yeah pre welcome. Listen anything that can get people to get vaccinated. I'm all for but i will say this. Y'all couldn't get free joints when i was getting my shots. Right exactly it. Does he still got roaches. In his in his ashtray. I sure do roaches. Gotta make it through the finals. Yeah yeah there you go but with you now. In retrospect maybe one hundred fifty maybe The long beach collective or maybe another collective can step up to the plate and an offer their own hundred fifty. Maybe we can get the whole community if you're listening if you know someone who is part of a collective or dispensary maybe we can all get together and and all unite here to help people in this particular situation get those joints for jabs interesting. Like they can't give away free alcohol. Because i guess the law right away free joints because the law so screwed up in that it's or to your point l z. Maybe what they're giving away a free joint meeting. It looks like a joint and it feels like a joint and smoked like a joint but it's oregano oregano. I mean you know committees or something we were. we were detect. That no definitely not right so anyway. So there's that you know like i'm just saying if you happen to be in the long beach area saturday from nine to one which says it recited it very good question because if it's the to shatter then they can do the joint the first time. And then the munchies the second time right exactly now i don't know doesn't say that either. Actually come on. Maybe some people already have the vaccine and they're like you know what. I want the joint so i'll take a second round of the vaccine because you know i don't think that do well. I know a guy legally take booster right. That's true that's true you because you've got the card. But i know a guy who's in the military who's getting ready to deploy the way. No good sentence has ever started with. I know got well in this neighborhood. Yeah that's fair. So i do know this guy. He's in the military is getting ready to deploy and he told me this story that he had gotten to pfizer shots but then for some reason because he's heading over to the middle east or wherever. He's decided he wanted to double and triple up. So he wound up getting the johnson and johnson shot as well so you had the two fighters and then he added on top of it. Different arm and got the johnson johnson like. Why does that make that much stronger or you. That much more protective. I don't know but for some reason. I just decided to go crazy and i got his. Yeah that seems a little excessive but you know what this delta bureau here going around. She ain't plan so go ahead and do you boo. Yeah yeah for sure. So anyhow Speaking of doing you l z at the clutch brody. Yesterday's says we didn't have a show. I drove up to sierra canyon. Watched you know they have six guys in this upcoming draft couple of guys who are probably gonna be lottery picks and i went to go watch them workout and i took a picture because you had to tell people what you had text us. You had randomly just come up with. We weren't even we weren't even texting. Yes we never show and you text. What about lonzo ball yesterday. So you know listeners. Know you guys know. I'm a lakers fan and as a lakers fan. I'm thinking about the team. Like all the time what i want to or not so. I was just sort of friendly thinking i was going. I bet we could find a way to get ben simmons and lonzo ball and just be like this incredibly athletic long perimeter. Defense that gobbles teams up the totally be that team. So that's what i said. I want ben simmons and lonzo ball on the squad and being that incredible defensive team. And then i sent you a picture because lonzo was at the event and you responded by telling me to tell him what tell tell him i say. Come home right so i. By the time. I got up to try to go to where he was. The event was started so he started running across the court because he was taking a picture with some kittens. Big taking pictures with some kids and ios. Oh and he turned around. And i'm like he's like what's up and i said l. c. says to come back home and then he just laughed and and ran away. I don't know if he hurt me but he did. Turn around and smile and walked away. You know so whatever that was away man. He's come home and like i don't know because he's a restricted free agent. You know how willing the pelicans will be to work with again. Correct get somebody correct. But if there's an opportunity. And i know we clowned him and i know us certainly clown them. You know early on with the way that his shot was looking and not looking because he wouldn't shoot an etcetera but i also hadn't stopped watching them also. I didn't stop paying attention to him and he's better. He's just better and more importantly he doesn't have to be a savior. This time he could be zo or as we call them. Laura was his new nickname. Laura tibo tibo ball. let's do it. Let's do it again. You wanna rewind. Want to rely. Well i definitely think it's interesting. L. z. you make a very very good point. Which is this when he was a baby coming out of. Ucla there was so much expectation and he was just a child and he's grown up. His body is growing up his mind. His game dad isn't quite as boisterous as he was putting him in the laker organization given the dad and where he's from and all this other stuff i mean it was. It wasn't exactly a great position to succeed at the time but this time around it could be quite interesting reading through the articles that have been written about this day yesterday and questions. It's certainly doesn't sound like everybody's excited to get him back to new orleans. It kind of doesn't even sound like new orleans is really in play. I think that new orleans likes this. Okay i'm going to tell you what i understand okay. My understanding is new. Orleans likes him. With with zion. Feels that with zion and lonzo. The pairing is good but that lonzo is going to it. Depends on what lonzo wants financially. Does he wanna get paid like a starting point guard basically or does he wanna get paid like a guy who is a you know back court role player both have significant amounts of money one just as a lot more money attached to it than the other one of them is twenty six or seven million dollar player. The other one is like you know fifteen seventeen million dollars. That's a big difference. So i think it's about that. I do know that they'd like him. Paired with zion. Though that i can tell you with.

"Christmas be golfing today. Because that open very short right i would say either that or he was like an hour show so why do a long anti right. Yeah i put the for. Why put a lot of effort into it. I guess that's true to the all star game. Pitcher say why. Bother a lot of effort into this. Yeah well that's true. I don't blame them. Although the all star game. I mean not like super crazy like scoring but it was. It had dramatic moments. Everybody was there to see shohei. And you know he didn't pitch. I mean really dude. It was honestly say out of my freaking mind over here. Like i wanted to see otani hit. I wanted to see her twice. I know i wanted to see him. Pitch to tease like was very Anti-climactic yeah no no they happen. They just nothing exciting really happened. You know it was kinda like that reboot of independence day. You guys ever see that. You're like exotic good on like on paper right all star game. I mean listen. It was a bases loaded in the eighth inning and kris bryant. Hit a shot. Jared walsh of the angels beta diving. Stop the guy's never even played left field. Before for god's sake. I thought that was interesting. I think it's interesting that you are still watching the eighth inning. Because by that time. I was kinda long checked out. So here's with baseball is that you don't have to watch intently. You know what i mean like. I almost feel like because it's baseball. You can kind of come in and out very easily. I will say one thing. I enjoyed though is is the post game interview with the mvp with an interpreter. Right by his side. I thought is this. Is this for goof or for real. Is this a no. It wasn't real real. Yeah no it was cool. And i think i think it goes back to the entire conversation. We were having the day before. Which is you know. It doesn't matter if it's spanish or japanese doesn't really matter. I still don't buy this notion. That guys are less marketable because they don't prefer english or english. I will not buy that argument twenty years ago. I might have bought it today. Not buying it. Yeah here's the thing. If you are exciting. It doesn't matter like what use and i couldn't speak their language. Notifies laurel morale here and here's the thing like you know. His name is vladimir guerrero. Junior most of us. If you're watching that game you know his daddy. You know what. I'm saying like true. You know i didn't speak english either. We love daddy. Do you know. I love daddy's and by the way it didn't it didn't hurt vlad. Senior original market abilities. I remember when he was playing for the angels. I had been in new york city at this time. And i remember walking by the nike store one day and they had a huge display of ladimir grow because he was such a huge star in the game at the time. So again i mean. Listen i get the argument. Hey it's america. You need to speak english. I hear what people say. And i'm telling people do that take is twenty years old okay or maybe older but twentieth good is a good frame of reference for sure but yeah i. I had fun watching it but again. I'm not sitting here on the couch watching every pitch. I'm just like oh something's happening. Let me kinda keep an eye on it. I agree it was like it was kind of on. Even though i wasn't really watching amish on now it was definitely on. I was definitely not watching. So here's something that may peak your interest. Everybody here's a public service of sort if you are someone who enjoys the canvas and and perhaps near the long beach area..

"Construction happening not a whole lot because all kinds of rampant shortage actually have a fun movie we should put in to on on supply chain. Like what's why there's so many shortages fastening the ripple effects of our manufacturing choices. And so the bottom line is if you're trying to buy a house pretty much anywhere right now. You're going to pay a lot more than you thought. Yeah the bloomberg thing was cool because it actually has some killer graphics where you can see like okay. Show me the cement. Show me the lumber show me the sheet rock and it explodes the house. And along the way it's like oh yeah okay sheet rocks double ply was doubled cements doubled. The prices of everything have gone through the roof. And yeah that's a good point to you shared over and analytics for marketers. That supply chain shock video and will Swing over to that as a matter of fact clicked through the show notes. If you want to join that slack trip we're always talking about the latest stuff marketing stats and data science. It's a great place to get some free info and learn what's going on the takeaway from that was all about the shipping containers like everything that comes into the us comes through l. a. and long beach and if there two weeks behind like forget it everything in the. Us is two weeks behind our worst and unfortunately like and they touch on this do with just in time inventory like there's tons of industries that are expecting twenty four hour turnaround losing a day as a huge deal so to be two whole weeks in the hole is just completely wipes out everything. Yeah the shipping into anything is interesting. Because they're saying containers are empty containers piling up in port and they wanna turn ships around because such a backlog in the port they need to turn ships around as fast as possible to get him out. The doors of the the dacas freed up. They don't wanna load empty containers. Send it back. So in the manufacturing sources places like china stuff they they have a shortage of containers and in no in our ports the us and stuff which where a lot of these continuous and up you have like mountains ship empty shipping containers that. Nobody's there wanted but nobody has the ability to get them out of the ports. I always think there could be a cottage industries taking the shipping containers driving them to a smaller. Just putting on smaller ships like you know sentenced amass ships because if companies are paying such a freemium shipping space. Right now take a container market up. Five hundred percent say yeah. We can know twenty containers tomorrow and a fleet of smaller ships. Just the only thing they take empty containers back. Yeah yeah you'd think having two points for the whole. Us it would be worthwhile the finally open up something else and yeah you could truck them from long beach down to mexico or further up the coast. It's just crazy. Well it'd be interesting to see how now that things have are a little closer to normal like well this level back out after a couple of months or will we seem to be in the cycle of. It's just one shock after another. There's really we never have any normal has just continually on the move so all right. Well we'll keep an eye on that. I also wanted to throw out there for salesforce connections. They rolled out. A whatsapp integration. And they've been pushing hard on a lot of their cd functions a bunch of stuff in the marketing commerce and experience clouds. We haven't had anybody from source on a while i was i was trying to get nancy. Nardin it because we haven't had her on and she's like the sales tool guru but she's busy till fall. She's got stuff going on this summer. So i'll see if i can get somebody else who can talk that but yeah. I don't know it's funny to do so much up spots stuff that sales not the bill was for everything. At least in my world. I am going to be a napa july sixteenth for multifamily home social media conference. And you've got the pr say northeast coming up next week. That's virtual how other stuff else you got on the calendar. you're watching. Yeah the ogura pulse agency summit. That's a couple of weeks sharing some guidance for agencies on how to make yourself more valuable tip it all starts around focusing on. Roi and results not such fun. We're going have a market crops coming up in the fall. We have content tech. Which is this week talking about again. It's found fundamentals of good reporting there so lots of lots of stuff happening but You know if you you've got to show that you want either one of us both of us to be at the drop us a line. We're happy to to work logistics on it. Yes that's right. we're both vaccinated. So we're free to roam the world again for better or worse also. Don't forget about the marketing over coffee newsletter powered by digital and the text group has still been. We've been having a blast with that have actually been sharing articles ahead of time to get feedback from listeners. So that's kind of cool if you want to get ahead of the curve of it send a text to six one seven eight one two five four nine four to get in on that.

"If i had guests. They're probably looking for like one by one pixels the normal tracking pixels the tracking bucks stuff regular graphics and this is the thing like this is the work around that i don't understand why more marketers don't when we published the trust insights weekly newsletter. There's a new graph like new data every week. So we have an incentive for people to turn images. You can't see this really cool graph. If you don't images on so turn does. Not as i in that way. There's something that convinces people essentially turn on the tracking mechanisms because he can't do it selectively it's all or nothing every marketer should be offering some kind of visual content in their emails to encourage users to turn the bloody thing on data like you could have custom artwork. Get your ipad. Just draw a doodle that week. A some kind. Just give us as something amusing and be to give them a reason to turn image tracking. I don't know why marketers don't do that. Yeah that's a good way. Oh so that's all or nothing. Yeah obviously there's tons of newsletters that you're just not gonna want to read the text without having to see the graphics and see what else is going on so we'll see what you have a bunch of other stuff other. Ias updates ipad update pretty much all the platforms are getting jacked up. I have an iphone x. Which is not all. But i was a little surprised that i did the forty minute of basically. Nothing's new so hopefully there's some cool stuff behind the scenes and it's not all just for newer models of hardware that i don't have but was there anything else that jumped out at you from what they've shown what the things i thought. It was really cold and believe. It's i think it's limited to 'em one machines. Is that if you have an ipad or another compatible device you can hold it near your computer and it will create a virtual Screenshot like nba. Bob back affords having to plug in a whole bunch of things accessible credit creating virtual desktops across different devices. Like that's pretty darn cool screen sharing coming facetime which everyone is like. Well that would have been useful about a year ago. Well we're all providing tech support for our parents. You know or facetime. That would have been nice in general. It's a lot of polish on existing stuff. It's going to be interesting. The other big thing is there's new stuff in the new apple watch the series seven now blood. Oxygen stuff One pressure and and things like that. So they're gonna using the same medical sensors. And that's suppose coming in watch. Os eight as well. So i think we'll be upgrading to the new apple watch once it comes out later this year. That's one thing that's totally crazy for me is that i am actually considering apple. Watch now because apple pay. I can't do face. Id when i'm wearing a mask and the storms. So if i had an apple watch. I can't pay faster at checkout which i never thought would drive a decision to to get an apple watch but that might happen for me now. I told you that every once in a while. Yeah we got fathers day coming up to. That might be a something to put in for. We'll to see it's interesting. A lot of credit cards are now starting a hat. Like i have one here. You listen to the audio but this is amazon's the things twice the thickness of a regular credit card. But it's got essentially a touch. Id sensor in it so you can take this out just happened against what we scan. It will do the touch. Id version rather than stick it in the machine. Yeah i've been surprised. I think at some point. I thought the idea was. We would switch to the european standard of be doing scanner touch and then pin verification to get through because right now basically with a scanner rate can just go steal your wallet. If you're if you don't have an rfid shielded wallet. The distance on this is really really small like you it. You have to lay it almost on the. I've tried to about a centimeter away. Nothing no kidding. So a very tight. Oh that's interesting that makes sense now. That said someone with your car can still young. They've taken your car right. They can run rapid. Lost the guard. Or if you're on a japanese subway in the morning somebody might get that close to easily but the for most folks yet. You're not gonna be at the shopping mall with a radar gun stealing everybody's credit card in one shot. Oh i had a great link to an article about generation alpha you know. We've joked in the past. I always to go off on a rant. About talking about millennials and boomers and and all these things are just constructs for marketing. So that consultants can say oh. Here's how you sell the millennials. You know because really you. Take any group of millennials and it's like every other generation you know sixty percent of them are bums and ten percent are incredibly smart and hardworking. You know it doesn't matter where you ben yet. This article comes about generation alpha which is proposed successor to gen z. The last one. I like this is new. We for this. I'm right on top of us so the article is great it because it does cover those points. It's like okay. This is sort of bologna in that. Statistically it doesn't match but it does go in depth like. Yeah if you're the person that comes up with the taglines that generation you're set for the next fifteen years you. You're going to have books and speaking gigs. Wherever you want to go and you're going to run the show the other one that i had never given much thought to. You had boomers which was a fifteen year area where birth rate actually went up. Well sometimes we have fifteen or twenty or stretches where nothing really happens you know. There's no reason to say these generations are different because nothing went down and another interesting when he was saying this gen x. y. z. Those just hold until something better comes along like millennial actually usurped gen y. And so and there may be something with gen z. Because they're the first ones to grow up all internet all the time and actually some of that applies to the late millennials to but so a link to that and then from that time fish burden had an article about ageism and marketing which was fantastic writing about how you know. The ad industry basically gives up on people past forty five years old. And yet when you look at all the creative people you look at the literature. Nobel prize or things like the oscars is people in their fifties and sixties all the time. That are winning these creative awards. So i thought that was kind of cool. Both of those were from the martin newsletter. I wanted to give a shout out to chris. What the editor over there. They've been sharing some good stuff lately so that was cool. Just wanna take a second to to thanks stack. Adapt for their support of marketing over coffee stack. Adapt as the highest performing programmatic. It was manufactured in two thousand and seven. I believe they just don't make these things the way they used to. I only got fourteen years out of my dvr. So but the big news. That is when. I called the cable company. They said oh. Yeah bringing your router too. Because you actually. You're going to get a huge upgrade when we upgrade hardware for you so fingers crossed. I may be leaving the dark ages. Also believe it when i see it. So we'll see what happens with that. You shared a cool article from bloomberg about housing costs. What did you find over. There is so much going on with supply chain stuff like that but with with what's going on with with housing in particular. It's being driven by a couple of things which that new constructions been severely hampered by a lumber shortage right so and you have a lot of people who were trying to move around and stuff without new inventory. You're constrained to what you got something. Like fourteen percent of people move in any given year and as result. You've got the least amount of inventory of it on the market in years if not decades you have no new.

"Marketing over coffee. I'm john wall. Christopher ben and we are back summer and full swing for all the complaining i did. This is seems to be recurring theme. The mark complain about stuff. The next time i come back it's much better so small wonder always complaining about something especially the the end result of that. You have been playing around with this new natural language model. What's going on with that. Yes a little bit of background. There's been this family of things called transformers nothing to do with the eighties. Tv show that are the natural language models that form the basis for a whole bunch of things The biggest one that you've seen in the news a lot is one called. Gpt that gpt family for open a chance for generative pre-trains transformer and the way it's worked in the past fed at stuff. It's kind of auto. It's like an auto complete bo. A smarter autocomplete. The new version. Gt three came out seven or eight months ago and it was a big change because now it you give a prompt tries to draft something but also it has much more stringent terms about commercial. Use things like that and and it's much more costly so there's all these other groups now that releasing competitive models you weeks ago. There's one called. Gpt neo that was supposedly. Ninety percent is good as gt three but zero percent of the price or creole. We all like that and yesterday illiterate. Ai dropped gpt. J six and so this is a model that is twenty percent better than neo. Still not as good as deputy but equally free testing this thing out. It's it's a lot of fun. It is free. There is a substantial barrier to entry in that you have to have a google. Coal app instance. That has teeth you support and you need to be able to use. Google co lab notebooks. If you wanna use it or they do have a web demo. It's limited into what it does. But what i did was i took us. Just terrible press release. It was his boring presley's from some some plumbing shop in oklahoma or ohio or somewhere basically telling people you know trees are going to ruin your plumbing and this press release was. I'd say about probably seven paragraphs long. So i took the first paragraph and a half i put it in two gb tj and it spit out didn't autocomplete of the rest of what if thought the press we should be about and then put the two side by side. Not only was the j. coherent better like other one went on blathering about all these things and the machine january one bullet point list. He has all the things that you should should be paying attention to when it comes to how to deal with landscaping and trees in school and stuff that i didn't know about had to go do a bit of research and figure out if it was actually not so it came up with for example have trees placed at least five feet from the bottom of any home to near your house. You'll you'll start damaging the foundation plant fruit and nut trees twelfth the away from the house maintain troops and check by cling lease gresham brush twice a year and then used or lease on top shoots to keep them from going dauer by keeping the roots more closer to the surface more moisture. There and i like this is really good really good so the blog post. I'm in the middle of writing. It is basically as marketers. This is another step towards the marketing. Singularity which is essentially all of our low value tasks like writing press releases like the machines. Just gonna it's gonna do a better than we. We would have done it. Well how about where does it come up with those additional taxes that part of the corpus or does it go out and actually search. It's all part of the corpus. This is what makes a lot of these. These newer models Different and better than older ones the first two generations. Gp to sucked in everything. You know. wikipedia read it. You name it as poor doll into an and that's why sometimes when you use it you would just get salad back like what what these newer ones are much more refined so in the list of things that are input sources med stack exchange still some red in their collection. Like all the open source books that are available from project gutenberg makes so they're a little more refined as to what they allow into the corpus in what they don't and as a result you come up with these much more relevant constructed pieces attacks and the other thing i'm finding is that it's also sucked tremendous amount of fiction so i try doing a fiction. Prompt and again. It's spit out. Actually better writing that i would have done for this particular type of fiction because i'm terrible at this one. Sort like so yeah. It's it's pretty impressive. And they have a whole academic download the inner details. Here's everything we put in this corpus. Here's the things we didn't put in this corpus like they excluded certain really big texts sites because like other stuff in here is a little too like skewed and we don't want it in the model. Yeah i can totally believe that. Because i've just come into this thing anytime i have a technical question. Just ignore read it read it as just like people complaining about stuff so i can tell you. See every so but then is amazing so it is really being well trained. It's evolving because they're there knowing which sources are legit and can come on or does cool. Yeah we'll throw in a link to that and then i had cnbc reporting that. Twitter is rolling out a service called twitter. Blue actually subscription not available in the usa as they're testing in canada and australia and it's between three fifty four fifty a month. I don't know what do you think about this. You know buying subscriber stuff. I not willing to pay to take the ads on. The ads are not that annoying to me. If they could give me. Oh you know. One of the things was not a true delete function but a draft function. Where you could tweet something and get ten or so minutes or something to fix it and change it. If you want so you you know there is finally a way to go back and clean stuff up such just leading. Would where where are you going with. This can just delete we'd again. Yeah that's that's not worth it. The other one on that too is super followers is another thing that they're pioneering this. I thought was more interesting. The idea that you could have subscribers. You could have a second class of followers who get additional content and other stuff and they pay your monthly subscription rate. Which i thought was pretty cool because you know. Obviously you've just running crazy with their subscriber model and pink but this being able to put unique content. I mean that seems like something that should be really smart. I don my question is twitter been so overrun with garbage and evil. That people would be afraid to go into this neighborhood. Will that work. I don't know it's interesting though because if you think about its smart. They see the writing on the wall for public social media right. You know the they've gotta make money with something other than just advertising because stuff like ios fourteen whacking advertises in the knees and over and over again. The whole stuff and wd wdc. EVO Acquired by Sony and RTS, Announces Online Event in August

"Moving to Las Vegas last year evil was the event. I was the most excited for as the premier fighting game tournament evil holds a special place in the hearts of the f g c and e Sports at large depending they push last year's eve. Oh unlocked at least that was supposed to be the plan until Evoque co-founder. Joey cooler was accused of sexual misconduct wage to the cancellation of the event since then the future of the tournament has been in doubt Today evil acknowledge the accusations toward Clark as they announced a new strategic partner in Sony the exact details bit murky, but basically Sony and RTS a new venture out of Endeavors e Sports business have acquired the tournament through a joint venture partnership the terms of the deal were not disclosed their first announced wage. New partners was that evil online will be held this coming August from the 6th to the 8th, and then from the 13th to the 15th the tournaments that have been announced so far include Tekken Mortal Kombat Guilty Gear and Street Fighter off in the past. There have been quite a few more titles. Well big events a TiVo, but with the move to online some of the games don't quite have the netcode up to par to host Malik competition. Yeah. We're looking at U Nintendo last year. That was the reason Smash Bros was dropped from the lineup. It remains to be seen if it will make a return this year. Although it doesn't look like it's going to come out even when competitions can happen in person. So any involvement may push the tournament to focus on different titles not the one from Nintendo Evo is still open to all platforms. According to Mark Julio on Twitter who does Biz Dev for Evo Nintendo put out a statement basically saying, hey, we're still open to Evo for this year. The netcode will prevent smash from being played, but after a two-year Hiatus and was Sony and control it may never come back to the Evo stage personally. That makes me happy. He said but it's not exactly Sony or Evo's fault. I'm going to blame Nintendo in this one.

FCC Tweaks CableCard Rules

"This is probably pretty inside baseball, but I know some of you like me. use a cable card at that is capable card. This is the thing the FCC used used to require. the cable companies offer you so you could use your own instead of having to use the cable companies boxer. DVR, the cable card was really Kinda neat idea. It was a credit card device for people old-timers Internet and technology people going back a ways you would recognize it as what we used to call. A P. C.. M. C. I. A. Card P. C. M. C. I. A.. Yeah that that card, there was a credit card but had electrtonics in it. And the idea was it was kind of like nowadays, you could do it with the SIM card truthfully. But this was an old technology around a long time. Nowadays you can do is assume card but in the old days, the cable companies still seems to be living in the old days. They they would make this. MCI Card that you could I left at an end deny PCMCIA. Lot. Letters card. That you would put. In a device, like Tito, for instance, and it would make it the cable box. So you didn't have to use the junky cable walks the cable company provided and you'd read it from them. They're making money on a couple of bucks five bucks something like that. FCC. Has. Just ruled. put a little ruling didn't didn't really pay any. You. Know didn't make a big deal about it and didn't it didn't get a lot of attention. because I think it's a small market. But thank goodness for David Zach. That's Absu. That's not funny. Dot Com. Because if it weren't for him, I might not even be be aware of this. But I use I have three cable cards my house three tvos three cable carts. The FCC has in effect said. We are eliminating a proceeding in which we saw comment on the adoption of new regulations for navigation devices. The FCC calls him devices consumers used to access video programming, and other services offered over multichannel video programming networks, cable networks. and WHO's important part eliminate outdated cable cards, support, and reporting requirements. FCC's Adele worry the market will keep the cable car to live I don't know. According to the FCC. There are half a million cable cards in circulation and they drop every year about ten percent. People aren't using them anymore. You know why? not, because everybody's saying, Oh, I gotta use that comcast box or that Cox box the spectrum by now. Because people are saying, I, just needed her neck. Give Me Internet. I'm I'm I'm curious what you think yesterday Dick Debartolo and I were talking about predictions. We. Had a read back my prediction from two thousand nine, which are wildly inaccurate. But I'M GONNA make. Another prediction maybe possibly wildly inaccurate. I don't think it's could take ten years maybe it'll take five. But more and more of us are going to start getting our our content over the top. You know through the Internet not through the Cable Company and that really in the long run, it might make more sense. For eliminating cable cards just eliminate cable. Not What the cable company wants, but I think that maybe the unintended consequences, this just eliminate the cable. and go over the Internet. Of course, I think most cable companies realized that's the future and are starting to offer more and more on demand stuff over the Internet, and of course, certainly, the content companies no, that's the future. That's why all of a sudden there's HBO Max and Peacock. And Disney plus an apple. TV. Plus these are all over the top. Streaming networks where you you pay a fee, a monthly fee ranging from five to fifteen dollars a month who lose another one, and you get your TV from the Internet, and now you can subscribe to Youtube TV. which. Is really a cable company, but it's just over the Internet fifty five bucks you get your local channels. You get a basic cable package for fifty five bucks over the Internet. How long this is the question I'm posing how long? Before cable companies just become Internet companies. I think that's I think that's happening very rapidly and this getting rid of the cable card is kind of a way of of saying that it's bad for not though. I feel bad for. Tiba owners who have the cable version, the cable variant. But. As you can see, it's not very many anymore. Not. Very many anymore. So the rest of us will either go to you know the the cable provided box which my in my case and I would say suspect many cases is not as good as Tibo offers. Or? We'll just go with a over the top service Youtube TV. It has built in Dvr. You can have six different users can have each have their own. Recording and it's easy. You just press plus on a show and it'll record the show forever. It's got no. I don't maybe there are limits, but it doesn't seem to have any limits on what you can record I. Think it's very easy simple not as there are some things missing. Tibo you can skip commercials I like that they. Put Press. The button boom to just jumps right over the commercial I like that. It's in fact to scrub through shows or move back and forth on a Tivo with a remote than it is on the youtube APP but you know we can live with that. WILL IT BE CHEAPER No No No. I don't think. So there are right now freeways there's a an APP maybe you've seen it called low caste. CAS. Lets you. Watch TV, your local channels free. They're getting away with this, but somehow they are. So there are people help always right enemy say you can. It's cheaper you can get. Pluto. Or other inexpensive solutions, ad-supported solutions and that that's probably the case that'll probably live live on.

"What is going on out in Seattle is in the news because the we have anarchy in play we have a and TiVo we have black lives matter we have the craziness of the of the left out there on full display right where president trump is they looking home if you better do something about this or I'm going to do something about it it is kind of an amazing situation you have that these American terrorist they have taken over like about what six or eight square blocks in the middle of Seattle and are calling it the nation of Chas we talked about the after day when governor Jay Inslee was asked about it he there was no for him so what's going on in Seattle is so what time zone which is the fact that the protesters have taken over and really well that's news to me so I'll have to reserve any comment about it I have not I have not heard anything about that for many edible source not that you're not credible is just like before I spousal abuse you know should know of which I speak yeah and you don't know Hey you freely freely just admitted that you don't know about the insurrection is happening in your own state governor Jay Inslee is a disaster you got it a John Kennedy who weighed in on on the the nation of jazz I think what we're saying in Seattle Sean is a dress rehearsal for life in America without law enforcement a civilized society has to have rules and someone to enforce I don't believe that the eighteen thousand police forces that we have in this country are endemic only racist I think there are some racist cops and we need to weed them out and finally to to the governor and the mayor of Seattle who I think are holding their cops back I would say gently if you hate cops just because the cops then the next time you get in trouble call the cracking at we need to keep the faith adult Chatham was proof of that they'll gonna gods call a crackhead he says this is the dress run testers took over does several blocks a day now coming out with a list of demands the demand to abolish the Seattle police department they want they're demanding they haven't I bet that college is dead be forgiven what are the country are they really just holding these eight blocks hostage yeah hostage though so there's like a hostage note what is college don't have to do a police reform I don't know I don't I don't know you're asking it is a hell of a drug speaking of okay be to help the drug one of the warlords now that have come out of jazz is a former rapper so you think I'm making this stuff up I'm not a former rapper is one of the warlords that's a ruling the new nation of Chad that is now set up jazz within the city limits of Seattle yeah Chad's natural country so yeah I would I say that I think Chad forgive me I've been Chad zap chess yeah jobs in the middle of Africa actually right well Chad is in the middle seat okay is a hell of a drug when asked about this the mayor Jenny Durkan after telling president trump that he could go back in his own bunker she said that you know this is really the bad as was being reported awfully gathering and expressing first amendment rights demanding we do better as a society and providing true equity for communities of color is not terrorism it is patriotism so she's saying that the jazz is a patriotic expression yes you know what for for for holding insurrection patriotism we have a we have a the service circus clone of the week brought to you by tombstone tactical is mayor Jenny Durkan yeah yes mayor Jenny Durkan cell I know will shock you that the president is perhaps not giving an accurate or truthful picture we've got four blocks in Seattle that you just saw pictures of that is more like a block party an armed takeover it's not a military junta we will we will make sure that we can restore is this but we have block parties and and the like in this part of Seattle the time it's it's known for that so I think the president number one no threat right now to the public and we're looking we're taking that very seriously we're meeting with businesses and residents but what the president threatened is illegal and unconstitutional and the fact that he can think you can just tweak that and not have ramifications is just wrong right is a block party well you know what maybe the mayor's right maybe we should just continue to to monitor the development of jazz and make it a campaign issue that if you want to get rid of the police here's what here's what is going to it here's the result we have a living example in a Democrat run state and the Democrat run city you have a blacks are people are being held hostage with armed guards bleak believe what you're seeing we're gonna talk to a business leader about whether or not we're in danger of closing up because of the cold it going to take a couple steps back we'll do that at eight OO three news in two minutes you are listening to newstalk five fifty K. N. N. issue I went back and I went to the video tape and I have some thoughts on that we'll get to that coming up at eight hundred eight zero one eighty nine ninety nine eight hundred eight zero one eight nine nine nine gets you in on Schmidt simple as that this is expected all four cops involved in the George Floyd to situation all four have invoked their Fifth Amendment rights against self incrimination I'm sure they all have defense attorneys or certainly have legal advice and I would expect them to invoke their Fifth Amendment rights question is any chance that any deals will be offered any of the cops in order for testimony against the more agree just actors and of course the most egregious of the actors appears to be this Derek schaffen also if you missed it and for those that might have missed this I I dealt with this last hour and we went over a very important part all of the official a complaint the state of Minnesota verses Derek Michael schaffen and the first and second counts in this complaint the third degree murder charge and then the manslaughter charge and when you read the actual narrative when you go through and you read the statement of probable cause at the very end of this about a page and a half or so at the very end it talks about the medical examiner and what has been performed so far regarding the autopsy and one has been released or what has been made available and it says the Hennepin county medical examiner conducted Mr Ford's autopsy on may twenty six twenty twenty the full report of the N. B. is pending but the embassy has made the following preliminary findings the autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation Mr Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease the combined effects of Mister Floyd being restrained by the police as underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death the defendant had his knee on Mr Foley's knack for eight minutes and forty six seconds in total two minutes and fifty three seconds of this was after Mr Floyd was non responsive that is just inexcusable it goes on to say the police are trained that this type of restraint with the subject in a prone position is inherently dangerous there are pieces of the story that we don't know yet as to was there any kind of confrontation was there a resisting arrest or what what was the story that resulted in it being pinned down to the ground for that long of a time what the hell with the cops waiting for for eight minutes plus what the hell what they think that the the Moses was in the compartment read see what they think was gonna happen they just completely on hold for obviously even if he was combative even if he was belligerent there are portions to the initial part of this first contact and the early investigation and then the placing him in handcuffs simple place him under arrest we don't have all those details but hopefully police body cams do and I'm guessing that the prosecutors saw the police body cams already those have not been released one one that's going to happen but even if this was not a direct regulation orders fix the I clearly what officer schaffen and the others did contributed to the death of George Floyd and that is completely inexcusable it's illegal it's disgusting and I'm a white guy and I am pissed let's be very clear here anyone that suggests the only black America's past that is crap every white person that I know is angry at what happened to George Floyd also the cops took his pulse they had no pulse why do you continue to to the spam on the guy for that period of time just a crazy story folks and I just don't know why some don't learn after high profile stories where police were at fault why I had look amid a global pandemic the call is this type of disruption or as a police officer you gotta understand this again I've watched many police officers with my ride alongs with the Hillsborough County sheriff's office in Florida over many many years I've done dozens and dozens of ride alongs and I've seen lots of de escalation by professional police in the management all of the situations you know what one of the best the escalators that I've seen is it was now lieutenant Steve Lewis I'm watching him handle folks out on the street with the many ride alongs that I've done with him over the years I've seen just an extreme professionalism and de escalation skills and tactics all kinds of scenarios I'm happy to mention I know plenty of cops that are great including lieutenant Steve Lewis with the Hillsborough County Florida sheriff's department treating people with respect seeing the folks are agitated and that the.

Where Will Cam Newton Land?

"Another quarterback that's out there that hasn't found a home that I'm surprised by that the charge and go get is gather your teammates with cam Newton how do you feel about what it will what do you think I think cam Newton is about to really dominate somewhere but it seems like there's potentially no suitors for the guy what the hell's going on there I I think it's a bad timing thing right like there you know if everybody would know that cam Newton was going to be a free agent when they ought when the market opened up I think he's gone first day right but the fact that nobody knew Caroline was like always will be our quarterback and then on a random Tuesday they signed teddy Bridgewater like the second day of the trip three eighty is the advice I woke now next you know can't do you go see a trade war everybody knows there's no trade value because it I won't give up anything that you know you're not gonna keep both these guys we know you're going to release them in another week and now everybody's on their quarterback we know that Miami wants to go young they're going to draft charges they're definitely going to draft a quarterback and they have Tyrod Taylor to stand going to be so where's the fit like you will need the quarterback Cincinnati has any dog just sitting over there but we all know they're going take Joe burrow so what is the fifth I'm looking forward to a camp going to do I think this is uncomfortable position for camp but I think just like camp done is every every part of his life he's always just kind of figured it out and became it became a star just like everything else and I think at some point he's probably going to maybe have to take up a role as a backup guy like Taney deal did knowing that Hey I'm coming here to compete and eventually it which is going to take a really strong locker room hi who's going to be able to take take a lot more more we can't Nunez like possible that backup quarterback waiting right yeah like who's gonna be the star quarterback that's comfortable with that right that's another conversation yeah because you got the quarterbacks wide will get more interview opportunities and is going dressed better than the starting quarterback is gonna be bigger stronger on all these other things like that's a really tough spot to be fourteen to bring in somebody as well so I think that's also playing a part of it is well is that how can we take this on and not looking still look like we're confident in the guy that we have but we're gonna bring in cam Newton anyway and this is not Camdenton is nothing like Tim TiVo I intend to vote there's nothing like Colin Kaepernick but this is the conversation that was happening about all the your backup quarterback came a massive distraction for your team because the quarterback room the quarterback position is a big deal if you have somebody in a room that's a distraction to your team whether it's tam calling then candidate might say because he's a massive personality and very good at football we go to football having that'll be a potential distraction he could see how teams would be like at we're not we're not we can't put ourselves in that

"Tim TiVo to play for the Philippines in the world baseball classic TiVo's parents were missionaries there and the thirty two year old I was born there and then moved to Florida with his family at a very young age but because it's a Filipino birth certificate TiVo is eligible to play for the Philippines in the world baseball classic Tim Tebow the baseball players hit a home run this spring he is still trying to keep his fading dream alive to play in the big leagues last year didn't go well at triple A. Syracuse TiVo hit just one sixty three in seventy seven games now he's also trying to balance and juggle two careers not only is he right to make it a professional baseball but he also is an analyst for the SEC network so not all of the TiVo eggs or in the baseball basket and thank god because I don't think it one sixty three triple a he's gonna make it to the big leagues but I'm fine with them

Bob Stolzberg, Voice Pioneer, Shares Some Wise Words

"Hey folks I'm Bob Stolberg the founder and CEO of Voice X. P.. I started voice. Xp back in January of twenty seventeen. So it's been three years We basically build voice APPS and most recently we released a platform that allows anybody to create their own voice APP With not coding. It only takes minutes and the voice apps that they can create a premium meaning. They're built for businesses to get Roi and they do things like syntax tax messages and emails. But we didn't start that way. We started off three years ago building custom skills for businesses and we were really looked at as an agency or a services model and This year we twenty nineteen. We pivoted to assess model with our product platform. So I like to think of Ben around a little bit. Some of our customers are hallmark. CENTURYLINK MERC- Tivo CLICO Square. Banner Health Amazon with we've got a lot and what's what's great is. I think we've covered a lot of ground. Meaning we've delivered for a lot of different customer summer doing diverse things both on Alexa and Google and Samsung so by by being early in the space That's that's really helped us out because it gives us the insight into what customers want where the technology is going and certainly given us some edges and I'm like for example. Were the only ones in the world who have a craigslist simple platform to build skills with these advanced features that you know you can deploy this stuff. Globally globally. So by being a first market mover invoice has been awesome but it's been a lot of work And a lot of trial and error fillers too. So I think it's cool like bring Bob on Bob's local. Were both Saint Louis guys and so I said Hey I want to get you on the podcast. And he's like you. Do you want me to come on. Live and I was like yeah when I so. It's cool though because you know Bob has been in the space like he said for three years and the recent I wanted to bring him on was as like we're we're recording this in the middle of December twenty nineteen and so we're heading into twenty twenty and I'm thinking hurry I want to get. It's somebody on the shell light into like what those first few formative years were like with somebody that's been on the forefront of Alexa so just voice technology general and so Bob. Why don't you share with other lake in the first few years you know? Let's say call it. Twenty seventeen to twenty twenty a little bit before that. What like what have been so your biggest learnings as this thing has evolved and matured in the way that you sort of view the technology today as opposed to maybe initially when I started to get involved in this space? Yeah it's a really good question I don't thank. You need to hire an expensive agency. I know you don't need to hire a developer for this because we built a platform that allows you to crank stuff out and I think there's a lot of misconceptions about voice where you know you really need to dig into a strategy. Excuse me and figure out. Well what are we going to do. WHO's the audience? We're GONNA go after and the simple answer. Is You need to treat your voice experience just like your website and when I talked to my customers I I said when you launched your website in the nineties or two thousands whatever it was you had something really simple and you know I. It told people about you your products and services says and you know maybe you had a forum on there they could opt into contact your sales or something and get your contact info. Let's start with that. You know you don't need to have this campaign that needs to run and attract a certain demographic it's great to have a contest or or some purpose for your skill but you should just treat it as a basic identity tea and you know just seeing We worked on really big hundred dollar campaigns down to two thousand five hundred dollars two hundred dollars a month skills and and I've just seen how easy it is now to create these voice apps with the right tools and a good marketer should know how to market their a website and by looking at it through that lens going. Hey if my voice APP is just like my website. How am I going to get it out there? They're able to do

"That TiVo and so he's inside okay yep he's inside so he definitely confirm that the pre will add are definitely coming but they're not gonna show up for anything recorded on some ad free networks he didn't say which free which add free networks I would assume those would be your typical premium channels this makes me think might be this makes me think there is a lawsuit which we never heard about there was a lawsuit or there was some sort of legal confrontation over their ads get feature and their settlement was okay fine you could put an ad before every recording I bet you that's what this is well what he said actually because people asked about that and I'm gonna give you a direct quote from him this is what he said is it is a lot of people speak here hope mechanisms like targeted advertising content delivery and premium services all all going to be needed in order for TiVo to help bring down the out of pocket costs for consumers over time. for my TiVo and I gave him a lifetime subscription there is no more out of pocket cost to me. absolutely and that's what everyone is saying it's PS two I. but here's some good news the ads are going to be skeptical. really. the green button ago didn't exactly he said that you still be able to skip them like you do force for traditional ads but there is one problem with that right now the experience for getting those ads are not the best you get a blue circle as the ad downloads and very low quality. hi to improve that experience of delivering those ads you haven't seen that yet on your TiVo have you know the reason why I haven't noticed this is one of the pieces of good news if you have a Romeo or premier or anything it's not a bolt on edge you're not going to see it at least that's what the general consensus consensus says but if you have the old or they wouldn't or the forthcoming edge you will see it but there is an additional piece of good news. even if you have a bolt if you downgrade to the what's known as the TiVo experience so we version of the interface you won't get the ads but the drawback is you will you will lose all of your recordings right yeah I knew that we actually talked about that I think last week you have to. re boot print press thumbs down twice then I can't remember there was a whole rigmarole to go back to the original the old version I know I'm not too worried about this I figure if I could skip it and I I don't want to see the blue dot in the poor quality but if I could skip it it's not the end of the world and there is one pieces so we're learning for those who have the ball and are getting the ads supposedly you can call customer support once you start seeing the ads on your TiVo and they will work with you and opting out of getting those so you cannot. yeah that's what people have said and what they've experienced by calling now what TiVo Ted said was that it is certain criteria to make that determination so he kind of with a little wishy washy about ten is related to Baghdad Bob at all they seem they seem to have the same kind of attitude Hey it might be I really appreciate the update your our TiVo group my T. personal TiVo guru so I really appreciate you'll be glad to know I my bowl plus three we're talking about this I think in the chat room I got the rainbow of death which meant the hard drive was dead so I've taken it apart it's sitting with its got spilled out now on my desk waiting for a two and a half inch hard drive to replace and I'm hoping. it seems to be I the from what I've read I just. plug it in it will take the new hard drive format it and I'll be back to back to go. about be curious to see if my lifetime subscription is back to go I'm hoping it will be if not a move and everything the plex and I use plex to one excuse plex and a tuner and just get rid of this whole TiVo mass. that's one of the options that people are talking about lex is promising a new plex that uses cable car that has six tuners in it I could put on my network everybody can record at all they want. eyes I'm I'm thinking that's going to be the best way to go for me. this is the this is the new HD home run from or whatever it is they call it from silicon dust that we'll have six tuners and I can't wait. that's supposed to come out sometime this year. thank you Mike bay thank you weekly out we got the best people out here tell yeah the H. D. what is it called me just look and see what they call it. because last time I checked it was not out. the home run prime six coming twenty nineteen. you plug it into your cable you have to have a cable card which I have for my TiVo the gives a cable box capabilities then you plug it into your cat your network. and you tied into your plex if you want to save all of these things and you get your plex is now not only is it don't you have a TV tuner everywhere because of the silicon dust and you can. but you also plaques I mean it seems like the perfect so it seems like better than TiVo. you know what I'm gonna do this is an experiment when it comes out only in. our show today brought to you by I drive. this is gonna be a new feature the ransomware attack of the week this time in Wyoming a ransomware attack hidden affected it's nothing that nothing to laugh at fifteen hundred health computer systems. the tech was so bad to shut down all the computers for some senior living centers and rehabilitation centers to check they they want to keep they have to keep care going so they had to go to paper because they couldn't get the computers. and you know all of this could be avoided if you had a backup you need I drive I drive is the best protection against ransomware against human error against data loss hardware failure. you need a reliable backup of your data ransom where is just one of many threats but the ransomware fix is easy with our great because you can.
