"Yup over satellite internet two m's for him to check how it like this shot in one place what is happening any gist man and again talk about a book series that is world renowned and bestseller lezak all over your moms book club may be loved it they started with book like four or five in it like okay so none of us know none of the american audience for the most part knows who this character is harry holy which just no i made none of us know who apparently not how you pronounce it always nordic country he of course not but but at holly pronounced it in the movie right exactly and this movie takes uh mr hall this movie takes place in norway uh and yet animal only a couple people are speaking norwegian and other dialects but it is like look at what let the right one in did we can take it mid subtitles in there have nor a norwegian cast other than michael fast bender and a very very unfortunate val kilmer which is made me sad other than that these are norwegian actors jake filmed in norway j gives them and with the norwegian director of like if you really thought this was going to be a break out smash hit based on a book series film it in the language of the books it seems like they did think fit but the they got i like well i mean the the director tomas alfredsson heated tinker taylor soldify let the right one end up a bunch of shorts m a bunch of tv series a the the man has a track record of some really interesting work death and i mean basing it off of let threat within like of course a huge success in a foreign language and guess what everybody was fine of that granted yes they made a remake of it in english to do this isa was a mary's oh you did director africa that um so do this one in norwegian or whatever dialogue dialect you know you want of course and if it takes off then you get michael fast pandered to do an american virtually at the dragon tattoo and so many other scandinavian properties that he had like many examples i mean it was just baffling yep and the snowman itself made knows the answer i gave you.

"That's from flying ryan show now in truth be told i have been on a weird schedule for the last couple of weeks and i have not been able to see as many screenings is i would like including the two that we're going to get into today um the two because we're gonna talk about the middle bit film festival that arch mentioned a little while ago and uh you know we're we're gonna talk about harvey weinstein because we did not get a chance to talk about that last week a whole bunch of stuff but let's start out with the thriller snowman story michael fast bender among other people you saw this just last night jason right yeah on silver spring i i really wanted to see it and i really wanted to like it because you know you gotta love michael fast manure to great cast jk simmons a it's per deep cast and also you're you're watching the credits and it's you know thelma schoon maker editing martin scorsese producing and then of course the director thomas alfredson who made let the right one in which i thought was i don't know if you ever see that mark i did not see though it's it's it's sort of a a childhood love story but with vampires and horror going on yeah yeah it was leash yes meter stretchers excellent really in and then he did tinker taylor soldier spy with gary oldman all which i did love which was wonder if i really did love that and this is based on a norwegian novel right yeah joe nesdb oh his is sort of the year the author here it's actually my first radio named vote but honestly alfredsson mean let the right one end was at a lotta people will agree it's it's probably the best horror movie of the last decade i would say so i went in with this with really high expectations sort of a similar know tree landscape sort of the blood against the snow that kind of thing we saw in fargo inlet right went in.

"Right so the snowman has been in development for a while because it's based on a book bra i think it's norwegian crime thriller and has been dome of her a while and for a period martin scorsese was eating on a directed but he eventually moved on he's the easter listen as an executive producer on this and thomas alfredson took over he and he's the guy who directed nom let the right one in tinker taylor soldier size so he's really good director but everyone is saying this film is just very ban i mean the uk saw it last week so the uk critics at deir reviews before the us critics and day tour depart as well and so it seems like the directors basically doing an apology tour right now before the movie he didn't comes out wide in trying to explain why the tone didn't turn out that well and he is statement is basically that by the time they went to shoot he just were wash or berry rush andy were so russia they ended up not using about fifteen percent of the screenplay so i don't know how i don't know how do you put together film with missing fifteen percent in the screenplay i don't know he doesn't explain how that happened exactly just keep saying because they were rushdie didn't they weren't able to shoot that i guess but it seems extreme i can't think of a time when i've ever heard that as an excuse before like i i mean uh that seems like something that you would say maybe if you're working on an indy film where you just simply ran out of budget because you've maxed out all your credit cards and whatever near sort of have to make do with a hundred grand or something like that but this is the movie the stars michael fasteners like a major film from up a big studio how's that even possible that they just straight up did not film at ten or fifteen percent of the script does is insane thing i can imagine is during filming the they were they were not making their days and they were strategically cutting things from the script as they were going knowing that they work like i don't think he was like oh we need to still film this fifteen percent of the script or you guys are out did i mean like you can't do that like i think.

"We we my arms are before we do this did we do this again where we did a half hour of the show before you actually get to 40 minutes the four forty minutes fultz could see carlos lozano you guys saw us a friend over the washington post as the boy i just listen to the show for thirty minutes before they got to the point and i guess that's the point 'cause we decided to take it to you act another ten minutes on their delight at better this way haven we're gonna we're gonna next week it's going to be fifty minutes before we get actual sharoy inactive digging straight outta sister uh atomic bomb will show atomic on what has happened to atomic plant i mean the thing about atomic bond is that it's a hard are uh pseudo john whic action movie that features a bisexual charlie's thereon playing it kind of tinker taylor's soldiers spy type uh hierro in it it's a weird movie that i am not surprised isn't really faring particularly well at the box office uh i would i do wish that like say the emoji movie maybe had dropped a little bit harder than atomic bond in its second weekend but the that was not to be um you know at so so that this movie is not a huge success i'm not shocked by i'm a little bit saddened because it is good it's probably the best movie uh starring a woman adapted from a comic book released this summer if i if i did alba iulia ayar author of at out air interesting uh fall uh and it has one really great sequence that i think a lot of people will end up watching on youtube on their phones over and over again much today but through all the money as the light uh the the uh there's a scene that kind of takes place in the uh in a in a stairwell we've seen bits of pieces of it in in the trailer but it's it's a solid 20minute.

"Anybody who watches its movie who like man i want to go back and read the graft novel and see how much it relates to it spoiler alert there's one fighting in the comic book right and it's not very long no it's it's a couple panels and knitted yet couple pages phone every couple of pages you it is in the stairwell so they did nail that right out the dead new movie but to the the graphic novel was not this action thriller you know no it it reads like a spy thriller spy thriller like a tournament of the guy's name um the authors escaping me tinker taylor soldiers by a roof le carre john le carre and give it reads like the google later yeah korea do that um it reads just like a a s yeah like a spicer i mean there's not it's it's just an interesting conversation to have once you once you see the the source material and you realize that this is a movie that that takes those beats and rosamund in there and then just amplifies everything to the end degree and whether it's the action sequences whether it's the production design um you know there was a joke made about so sharly sarah nhs character has now a bedroom that's completely lit in neon income ends y'all the question was how does she sleep yet at headingley all that neon illinois and someone said you know apparently with no clothes on because in the movie she has often not closed but um there's just it inin you know the thing that dumb the movie plays up his is the it 1989 the berlin wall and it's not really i mean it's there.
