"So, we saluted the life of Jimmy Buffett yesterday, properly so, but boy did we miss a birthday yesterday. Freddie Mercury would have been 77, passed away back in 91, so I had to pick a Queen song, had to pick a Queen record. How about You're My Best Friend for the Mike and Mark segments? Not bad. There you go, buddy. We can sing We Are the Champions because we're the champion of all things mysterious. And topics that need to be explored. We go where few dare go. You shut me down yesterday when I told you about the Delta Airlines flight that was forced to land. But then, of course, you saw it all over Twitter and X and everything, right? Well, I know because everybody's 12 years old. Somebody had a, I don't even want to say it again, somebody had a horrible digestive event on a plane and they had to sandblast the plane for six hours. They had to replace the carpet. I mean, they had to replace the carpet on the plane. That's a true story. Can you imagine being on that plane and the poor pilot, and there's an audio recording of the pilot saying, five, seven, one, Delta heavy. We have a biohazard problem on the plane. The biohazard. Ladies and gentlemen, you may want to look over the left side of the aircraft because that's where we're going to be issuing the parachute so that you can get the hell off this thing before we all die. I'd never fly again. That'd be it. That'd be it. And speaking of flying, didn't you do it yet? Are you in New York yet? Today? No, after the show today, I'm headed to New York where it's going to be 110 degrees. You know, Texas heat is one thing. New York City heat is ghastly because there's no breeze. You're walking up and down. So we're going to see the Eagles in concert tomorrow night. I'm going to see a couple of shows. We've got some meetings. I'm going to go to Philly for a big event. Oh, cool. With Chris Stiegel. Is that our guy? Chris Stiegel and Dennis Prager and Pastor Robert Jeffers from your neck of the woods. That's right. That's so cool. I have a question for you. It's called, for a moment, welcome to Mike's Entertainment Options or Mike's Travel Habits. As we have noted, you are fresh back from the UK. I trust you had a magnificent time. So Mike's on the ground in England for 24 hours, sends me a picture off of his balcony. Was that a CG? Was that a green screen? Because from your balcony, it's like, oh, there's the London Eye, oh, there's Westminster Abbey. Where were you? Well, there's a story behind that. I'm a little reluctant to tell the story. Joey and Peg are my dear friends. Joey's a little more frugal than I am. And he found a hotel. And I'll go ahead and say it. It was a nice Marriott right on the River Thames, right outside that giant monstrosity eye thing. That Ferris wheel. It's a massive Ferris wheel. It's gross. I mean, I think about the River Thames and I think of Mary Poppins floating gently. Big Ben and all these beautiful, and then there's this monstrosity, and Brits don't like it either. Everybody kind of, it's a cool tourist thing and you go up and it's one of those giant Ferris wheels. Anyway, the hotel, this Marriott is right at the Ferris wheel. So not only is the infernal thing beeping every time it moves, and so you hear the beeping in your room, but like you saw, you're right there. I mean, the view is crazy, but not only that, but the deal breaker for me, the AC wasn't so good. Is England like Laguna Beach, California, where we stayed at a beautiful place and it happened to be 82 and they didn't have any AC? I thought I was going to die. Well, you know, again, the UK, they're not really like AC -oriented like we are. They have it, but I said, that's it, I'm out, King Tut needs some AC, I got to have air conditioning. And it wasn't even hot over there, but at night, I don't know, I mean, God forbid if the day ever comes where they yank the rug out from under me and I'm, you know, singing show tunes at a cheeseburger joint on the weekends and I can't afford an air conditioner because I got to have an air conditioner. Anyway, I knew of a place, a much nicer hotel, so we actually checked out. That was a one -day gig, but it was spectacular visuals. And speaking of show tunes, that leads me to my actual really quick question because there is stuff going on in the world. So you sent me, as you always do and I love it so much, it's like, hey, look where I am, hey, look where I am. And on at least a couple of occasions, you were in the front row, shocker, of this magnificent show. I guess it's called Tina or somebody is Tina Turner and wow, was she good. Wow, was she good. It's actually a Broadway show that also went to the West End and there was, I saw a woman named Adrian Warren who played the show, played the part, but yeah, it's a musical about the life of Tina Turner. And on another night you went and saw Les Mis. The best production of Les Mis I've ever seen in the history of going to the theater. I bet it was great. But here's my question and here's where you and I are a smidge different. Okay. You're in London and you go to Broadway for lunch like every day. So there's a whole country outside this theater as you sit in a seat and see something that is admittedly fantastic, but that you could see at some other time a hundred yards from where you're staying. But the West End is London's version of Broadway and they do theater a little bit differently. First of all, I mean, the ticket prices are even more affordable. You know, you sit in the stalls over there. They don't call them seats.

"It is Ann Wilson's birthday, the greatness of heart magic man. Ann Wilson, 73. A voice so distinctive that... You remember when Tina Turner passed? And nobody loved Tina Turner more than me, Mike. I loved her. Oh, I don't know. People call her the... Well, I agree. Okay, well, we'll have the love off. We're tied. But there are people who said, Tina Turner, queen of rock and roll. Wait a minute, whoa, what? She had a couple of rock -tinged, poppy albums, but no, that was just weird. So then the question arose, who is? I mean, king of rock and roll might be Elvis, maybe Chuck Berry, et cetera, et cetera, but the queen, I don't know. So if there's a Mount Rushmore, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, I don't know who goes on that. But anyway, whatever your thought is on that, Ann Wilson is 73. Happy birthday. How was your day yesterday? It's good. I mean, I'm still sort of reeling from what is going to be a third arrest of the 45th president of the United States. Can I first say that your monologue today on the realities of January 6th is so perfect, and I don't like to kiss up to you because it always goes to your head. I love it, however. But I want to play, with your permission, I want to play, you did about three minutes. You did three to four minutes. You said it was 45 seconds, and only in your mind do you think a four -minute monologue sounds like 45 seconds. But every word of it was perfect, Mark. You're so, I want somebody to give me one single thing that has been reported, that we have any knowledge about, that could lead to Trump going to jail over January 6th. What did he say or do that would be, in anyone, any normal person's universe, considered criminal? Now, you could argue he didn't give a forceful enough speech. He didn't come out, you know, strongly enough. Strongly enough. He didn't condemn the, I mean, he did say go home after the rioting began. Took a while, but okay. But he did. Sure. Before the rioting, he said go peacefully protest. I mean, and so what you said was so eloquent and so perfect. You talk about January 6th breaking people, and you're spot on. I mean, and it breaks even media entities. I'm going to, I'm really, I don't want to be obsessed with Fox News. I was talking to an old friend of mine yesterday, a mentor, somebody that I've known for decades. And he said to me, boy, Fox News is the go -to now for me. I rely on Fox News for everything. And I've been giving this a lot of thought. Yesterday on The Five, arguably their highest -rated show, got five personalities sitting around in a gab fest. It's a very good formula, different people, liberal. They got one or two token liberals, and they got the rest are conservatives, and the conservatives always steamroll the liberals. And it's kind of fun to watch. Mark, they didn't mention this epic, disastrous, disgraceful affront one time.

Unlocking Ancestral Trauma: Bird Mejia Shares Her Journey of Healing
"A lot of us, I was born to a family that had some trauma that's been passed on for generations, like we don't understand and downloaded all the stuff. I entered my life kind of unconsciously choosing things that didn't feel good. For me, it was relationships. I was in a long relationship, a long marriage that I used to cry every week. What we would call it now is narcissism. I look at that not as like this big bad, he was a narcissist, is that when someone has on the characteristics of narcissistic personality disorder, any kind of stuff, any kind of mental health, for me, it's a legacy of ancestral trauma that was on his side. If I have attracted it in my life, that means it was in my side. I was kind of unconscious and I was going through this stuff and I got in so much pain, emotional pain. For a long time, I just shoved it down and I could feel for years that I was supposed to start a spiritual journey. When something's calling you, a lot of times I was comfortable in the pain. That's what I knew. My mother had a lot of challenges herself. I stayed in my comfort zone until I got to the point where it was so painful. What actually did it for me was my daughter was nine. For a lot of times, long time I stayed because I'm like, I want to create something healthy. I don't want to be a single mom. She said to me one day, she said, mom, you've been really proud of you lately. I think I raised my voice at her and I said, I have to do this for my daughter. At that time, I didn't love myself enough to do that journey for myself. When I saw how I was passing on the patterns to my daughter, I had a lot of anger and she yelled a lot. I was like, I have to start. I started doing something called Shaktinam yoga, which is like Kundalini yoga. I learned breath work and mantras. Have you ever seen the Tina Turner movie? What's love got to do with it? You'll see Tina Turner chanting, right? For her, she chose Buddhism, but it doesn't really matter what you choose is that actually chanting, which is sound meditation, is really healing. It helps change the subconscious patterns. For a lot of us that have very active minds, it actually calms the mind down so that we can get to the meditative state. For a lot of us, it helps you get to the meditative state in two miles instead of 10 miles. I started doing that. I started my healing journey, left my marriage and continued diving deep. The real thing that really hit was a few years ago, my mother, and I had a challenging relationship with my mother. I always have. She went into the doctor for a stomach ache. We thought she was a perfect child. Her parents lived into the mid nineties. She never had health problems. My mother was never sickly. She was diagnosed with four stage pancreatic cancer and given two to three months left to live. She died 35 days later. That was like boom. After she died, my father started telling me some of the truth about what was going on between her and her dad. Then I started seeing visions. Then my mother actually started visiting me and coming to me. I understood that my mother had been abused physically, sexually, and emotionally. I think I'm not sure about the sexual and sexual came from, but a lot of it was from my grandfather who I loved my abuelito. Then I was shown some visions in my lineage. My mother is Mexican, so I was shown visions in my indigenous side and my Mexican side. I was shown that I come from people that were healers, that were intuitive, that were, you know, what we would call shaman, the walls. I was shown that I come from this lineage. It was very happy and centered and powerful. Then I was shown horrific trauma about seven generations ago. I was shown how that trauma went from woman to woman, to woman, to woman. It showed up in the way that she wasn't able to be there the way I needed her and love me the way I needed her. It showed up in what killed her. Also, it showed up, you know, I was shown also that my grandmother had been in a relationship that was very similar to mine. I had no idea. Because when you're pregnant, when a woman's pregnant with the child, whatever trauma she's passed on to the unborn child, and if the unborn child is a girl, it gets passed on to the A. This is how the grandchildren get. But beyond that, they've done extensive studies on trauma, especially when it's not dealt with, when it's just shoved down. A lot of times their ancestors, they did not know how to, they didn't have luxury. They had to survive when these things were happening. Literally, like, okay, this horrific thing happened, but I have to live and the rest of my children need to live. This kind of survival thing happens, right? So, they didn't have a luxury to even handle it. So, it was too much. Like, they had to disassociate. They had to shove it down. And it's gotten shoved down for generation to generation. So, a lot of us, you can tell in the repeating patterns in your life, right? Keep repeating the same relationship. You keep meeting the same mate over and over again. You still struggle with the same addictions over and over again. You have the same limiting beliefs. You have the same money struggles. You can look in your family. Like, what's repeating in your family? Is it some type of addiction? Is it toxic relationships? Is it drama? Is it, what diseases are repeating in your family? Is it diabetes? Is it heart attacks? Is it breast cancer? These are all indications when they keep repeating, they are stuff that's not been resolved. That's why it's one of the signs that it's ancestral because just it keeps repeating and repeating. It's unhealed trauma, right? So, it's become one of my passions

The general investigating committee in the Texas House is looking into allegations that state attorney general Ken Paxton used taxpayer money to settle a lawsuit upward of $3 million. A team of lawyers testified in front of the committee on Wednesday, explaining accusations from former members of Paxton's tap, who say they were retaliated against by Paxton after reporting him for misconduct. The interview suggests in the settlement implies that they made a report they believed was necessary, ethically required. And legally obligated to make. And they were fired. It's earning Aaron embley said evidence was found that Paxton misused his power as AG to benefit a campaign donor. She believes Paxton committed more than a dozen crimes. I ask that we look at the pattern and deviations from the norm. Questions not just of criminal activity, but also of ethical and propriety. The committee's chairman Andrew mer broke the panel off into executive session before closing the meeting without any action. And speculation over a possible impeachment now looms. It's alarming to hear. It curls my mustache. Paxton is already facing lingering felony securities fraud charges called the accusations false and blames House speaker Dave Thielen for this week's fallout. He said the committee hearing was sabotage the night before testimony was heard, Paxton called for feeling to resign, claiming he was drunk while presiding over the House floor. I wanted to say when I hear, listen to Stacey I say a prayer for her, but there are challenges. And I know because I went through them. My husband and I were sitting having coffee once Sunday morning. Next to each other in the living room. And within 5 minutes, he was going with the NASA blog. Oh, man. And I knew nothing about insurance about investments about bills about anything. You know, I told me the important papers are in the apple sauce. Okay. So I did find some. And then the CPA helped me with round of taxes. Yeah. And they were investments spread out and insurance poly spread out. And I got everything consolidated. Good one, 20 with a fiduciary. Good. But I want to tell people women and men too because sometimes men do women do all the book work and the men don't know. Oh, absolutely. And here's one. Right. What's going on? Right. And you know, it's very easy to let someone else do it, of course. So it's very easy to not take the time to explain it. Because we don't think anything is going to happen. But when something does happen, being in the dark just adds to the problem. So I'm with you. And it's real easy to just say, oh, she takes care of it. I don't care. You may have to care. I agree. I remember him spreading out all the tax information on the dining room table. I was sitting there with his can of Pepsi. And I'd come along and I'd say is there anything I can help with you with? And he said, no, don't touch anything. Right, right, yeah. I got all of them right here. Well, you know, it's always good to have a CPA. That way, if there's an audit, you don't have to go. That alone makes it worthwhile. So I'm a big believer in that. Yeah, taxes will be the least of your worries when your mate dies, but it does, you know, it's very easy to lose independence when somebody else is doing everything. And they're not meaning to make you dependent, but in the end, you wind up being pretty damn dependent. And so, you know, if they see the first year, of course, she mourned and it's just a horrible thing to go through as you unfortunately know too well. But now is the point where Stacy's got to become independent one way or another. And she will. You have to. That's right. That's right. Absolutely. Yeah. Because you can not depend on other people. For one thing, other people are never going to necessarily do it the way you want it done, whatever it is anyway. They're not necessarily going to do it on the timetable when you want it done. Whatever. So the only way you're calling your own shots is if you can call your own shots and living on the kindness of strangers, so to speak or friends or even relatives isn't that. Yeah. I did move to a smaller house. Uh huh. More manageable. For me. So I was proud of that decision. Sure, well, more now. That's a real personal decision because like Stacy was saying she's maybe thinking about some type of assisted living. And you know, for some people, that's just the best answer ever and for other people that's pure hell. So a part of it is knowing yourself and how you're going to thrive. And a lot of people, I think, don't even start to do that at first, but really getting to know what your own strengths and weaknesses are and where you feel most comfortable. That's crucial before you make any decision. Well, I did it. And I was glad. Yeah. I do have my son and daughter in law and grandson just leave a short distance away from me. So and that's wonderful. Whenever I need something done or right, but anyway, I wanted to tell you I had never been interested in resident blows music until I started listening to you. I couldn't have named one song. But I was listening on YouTube the other night, and I found the most beautiful voice by Danny Hathaway. Oh, yeah. You're doing my bad. Oh, he was great. And you know, his death was very suspicious. I don't buy the official story. I don't know what happened, but he sure as hell, I don't think jumped out the window, and I think he was taken from us way too soon. But some of his Roberta Flack. I mean, some people like the big hits, but there's one you are my heaven, which I think is just like the best record ever. Yeah, you are my mom and my dad, too. Yeah. And her voice sounds so much like you. Yeah. So phrases and loves each note and write. Beautiful. No, losing Donnie Hathaway was just a horrible thing. And it is truly our loss, but like I say, there's more to that story and more probably never going to know, and he was alive for such a short period of time. He died and at the beginning of 1979. So it was a real short period of time that he was with us. He was 33 years old when he died. That's sad. That's such a wonderful voice. Yeah. Listening to. And the nice thing is he has one of what's become one of the real Christmas standards this Christmas. So every year you get to hear that because most stations still play that every year. And it's just terrific. But mother's tongue. You are my heaven. You are my heaven. I'll play it for you. I'll get it out here and play for you next. Okay. Yeah. All right, good deal. Yes. Can I say, I really appreciate the way you listen to people around. You don't interact and talk over people. Well, sometimes I do a lot of ages. Well, over each other, you know, they're on they're on much more of a clock. I've never fed a metaphor. I won't break. But when you're on television, you know, it's the 7 second sound bite that rules. So they all want to get their thoughts in over the other one and it becomes a screaming fest and that's how to listen to any of those shows. But I don't really blame them because there's directors and producers and all that. They're not alone in their fest of this. That's for sure. Okay. I think my bill is kicking. Oh good, excellent. One and tina became a well. Deserved international superstar from this point on tina. Continue to make hit records give incredible performances live on tv starred in multiple movies and was the author of a new york times bestseller autobiography. That autobiography was later turned into the iconic movie. What's love got to do with it. That depicted tina's heroin abuse under ike. That was released in nineteen ninety three. The soundtrack featured new hits recorded by tina. That would go on to be double platinum. Tina continued to record and release revolutionary hits and was eventually inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame with hike in nineteen ninety-one tina second solo album was just as successful as her first and another one. "Tina felt she'd had no options and nothing to live for and had made at least two separate suicide attempts. Tina continued to tour and record throughout the abuse for many years until something changed. Tina was introduced to buddhism and exploring. This new knowledge would change the entire trajectory of her life. Tina began to practice buddhism and began to wake up to her own power. She no longer wanted to live stuck as a prisoner in her own home in marriage beaten and raped on a daily basis forced to work throughout it all losing all hope for an escape. Tina wanted to do better. It was in the late seventies but tina would reach her breaking point. Ike and tina were traveling in dallas to a show when i struck tina in the backseat. At this point. Tina had had enough. She began fighting back and upon arrival of their hotel. Tina fled and never looked back. The couple would divorce in nineteen. Seventy eight in tina was stripped of everything. I took everything in terms of financial resources and fought tina for the only thing. She requested her name thankfully. Tina won the battle in court and was able to retain her stage name. Tina turner after leaving the ban. Tina didn't immediately shoot to stardom as a solo artist. All of career and notoriety was attached to the ike and tina review. But tina did not let this deter tino worked cleaning homes and performed in smaller shows while also continuing to record..

"It made me realize my mom used to wake me up on sunday. Mornings ask crack dawn blaring that same tina turner cd for years and as a child. I didn't understand the impact and almost connectivity. Tina turner had to a lot of women and what she meant to a whole generation and watching it back. I now understand why mom my aunts were still obsessed with tina. She was there. The i say yes. She came from such an abusive relationship. She came from after her four. She says what she had. Thirty six thirty and then became tina turner. You know just icon. You know just shows that she had like a career with him but then to to lose everything and bring them back like she was destined for success. I just wanted to see tino. Would i had a chance to see the staples center and just to be able to see her. She was in her seventies. I guess at the time. I mean chess an entertainer and you can tell even with tina that she was born to do this beyond say you say. She loved it and she was born to do this. And what a what i can and i believe what you say because i know the music and it was like an anthem and your mama played in your cousins played it and and gave you such energy and her style the fact that tina would wear her hair all and she was a trendsetters apartheid. Absolutely now the fact that she was a victim of abuse has been a big part of who she is Do you think people can ever separate tina. I think what happens is when you're the first generation to go through something and pub publicly talk about it. The world didn't know how to react to it. It's like we on in chris brown you know. It was the first time in our generation before the me too movement before people were talking about it it was like what do we do with this information and i think for tina turner and i think for a lot of women. You kinda saw this thing in early. Two thousands where people were trying to change the word domestic violence victim to domestic violence survivor. Because there is such a stigma behind calling somebody a victim. But i just think unfortunately for tina turner. She gave that story to people before anybody was ready to speak up. Sonny and cher living in a house together divorced because they were afraid to lose everything to lose their careers. So i think tina turner just unfortunately it was going to be hard for people to separate. But why even and i think it goes with her because he's become a shiro and especially when you watch the documentary but you watched the movie.
