"Elliott what is your short end this week. My short end is actually somewhat controversial. And it's the movie dune. I saw dune at the warner brothers. Lot in a fantastic really really loud screening room. I think is the way that you should see it. I know you. You watched it at home and i think a lot of people watch it at home but it's still made like thirty something million dollars at the box office. Oh good for them. But i think is is really interesting about tune. You're of course talking about david. Lynch's dune from nineteen eighty-four. I am not talking about david. Lynch's dan i'm talking about the new twenty. Twenty one dune starring timothy shallow may and directed by danny villeneuve shot by friend of the show. Greg frazier that's right. Could say nothing about doing when we talked him at no matter how much i pry tried to pry dune info out of him. I wanted dune hot. Hot dune skinny from him wasn't gonna get it well. You might remember that some number of weeks ago on the show. I was saying how my short end was this movie because of the trailer i watched the trailer tried to block it out. I watched the trailer thought it was great. Couldn't wait to see it wasn't gonna watch anything else. And before i get into what. I thought of the movie and why i think that it's it's it's worthy for talking about short end here I think it's wonderful. When i really like a polarizing movie and this movie is decidedly polarizing. If you look at the just type in dune review into google the top things that come up run the whole gamut for example The guardian says that it is a sci-fi epic that gets to an electrifying start. The new yorker says a dune sanded to dullness says sci-fi. Epic dune is an immersive. But incomplete experience and this kind of goes on and on. You'll be. I mean it is incomplete in that it's only telling like the first half of the first book one hundred percent and you know. I heard lots of comments from people that because it's you know it's it's hbo and the the comments have have ranged lot. Like oh well you know. They ripped off star wars. And i gotta remind everyone that this like the book was originally written in the mid sixties. Sixty five so this this intellectual property. This story exists long before there was there were star wars and a lot of other things but but truly If you look at the david lynch version which i feel like is very much an opera. It doesn't have a lot of the perhaps identification and development that you might like to have with some of the characters and a lot crashes so i watched it about a month ago the david lynch version and i this with all due respect to david lynch and i believe freddie francis shot that movie that movie is wall to wall exposition holy crap. The exposition never stops and i feel like without spoiling this movie..

"Been viola, Bake out Viagra telling you, boy God. So Jonah Europe in Toronto covering the film festival. I mean, is anybody there? Does anybody care? Well, I'm looking out my window and what would usually be a bustling cityscape? Uh, it's kind of like how New York was a few months ago. It's still everyone's outdoor dining people in math. I haven't had to wait in a single line, which is nice. But last night a good friend of mine who's the theater critic for the Globe and mail, he said. I'm going to take you to a really cool neighborhoods were walking on odd Sington Street and we went to five of his favorite bars. All of them were closed. Of these said Normally it would be huge and bustling because of tips. But no one came. I'm the only American. They're all shocked to females. Wow. Any good movies at the festival. Quite you. Actually I loved the new movie Dune, which is by Denis Villeneuve, who directed arrival and Blade Runner 2049. It is just one of the biggest sci fi ethics I've seen since Avatar. Uh, often I didn't quite know what was going on. But the imagery and, uh, spectacle. My jaw was on the floor. So I highly recommend that that's with Timothy Shallow May and Rebecca Ferguson. Also very strange was the eyes of Tammy Faye, starring Jessica Chastain as Tammy Faye Bakker and just Washington. Makeup get sicker and sicker throughout. Heard I heard I heard that was really I heard that was really good. That movie. Yes, she you know that's kind of weird giggled at Tim, you say used to do She has it down Pat, and she sings all those creepy song. It just it kind of gives me the shivers thinking about it. So, Johnny, What do you make about Broadway? Coming back tonight? Lion King Wicked. Hamilton, Chicago. They're all reopening. Is there going to be a big enough audience to support all these shows? You know, I really regret not being there tonight. But no one truly knows that the pressure of being a tabloid writer when there's a new Princess Diana movie premiering, so I have to stay to stay in after that. Right, which will star Kristen Stewart. But Broadway this will be a great night of full houses. Think we're all worried about the next night and the night after that, I remember when show Alan reopened the first time. I was talking to Mary who runs the show there and she told me Well, the first week is going to be really great Big homecoming role hugging. I'm just worried about the next week and low and behold, they had to sit down again. So none of us want to see that happen for Broadway. It seems to me that New York has sort of chap is starting to pass Delta a bit. People aren't so afraid to go into spaces anymore. And I hope that remains true. I was great to hear Tom Schumacher so upbeat about the comeback of lying in tonight. I think if you if you go, Michael as cold and mean and cruel as you are, I bet the old shed up here. At Circle of life. No question. No, I'm sure he will. Hey, um, Michael, you'll never get out sitting there watching the tennis finals on TV between Djokovic and Medvedev and you'll never guess who like emails me right in the middle of the match. It's Johnny Oleksyn ski, Mr Tennis himself. Why were you pestering me about the tennis Johnny? Why do I come on the show and be treated so wonderfully? By the lens? Yeah. Perhaps I was pestering you because your so called legendary sportscaster O obviously terrible. My God, I was entering you because the match is very exciting. It was a bit unexpected, like the entire U. S open was none of us thought it would be this exciting. And yet we got two new champions. A lot of names. People didn't know. A little bit of an upset, which is always fun. What's wrong with you? And no, No, You're right. The open was great. And I will give you your props because very early in the Djokovic match you said this is this is going Medvedev's way. So I give you your props for, uh, for recognizing what was about to happen to Djokovic. Yes, Thank you. I'm sorry for pestering you with my correct predictions and analysis. Johnny Nixon ski, the first openly gay sportscaster. There you are, folks who will be on ESPN sooner rather than later. Yeah. Johnny is still there. Hello? I'm still here. I'm still here. Thank you for once again, pointing out my sexual orientation to your listeners. Well, Speaking of that you must be a big fan of the Met Gala Veg Adi. Oh, the Met gala. I always call it Anna Wintour's annual day of judgment. And right then therefore I feel I have the right to judge it, too. And with every passing year, the celebrities, names become more and more obscure, more diffused. I'd a publicist actually told me that his clients were being invited with just days to go to the Met gala, the so called hottest ticket. In New York. They just need a filthy feet. But when we used to get Beyonce and Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise now it's just a bunch of instagrammers that are pretty much nated. Kim Kardashian dressed as a dominatrix. But Johnny Johnny, before we Right, Jonah Before we run an important point here, I think it's just it's the end of print media. I mean, Anna Wintour was the goddess of candy nest, and nobody cares about being in the magazines anymore. Yeah, and the winter is also I'm looking for a word for somebody will stick around. We'll be there, turning off the lights of print media. She is so good and so screwed and adapting to what's going on. So every time it looks like glossy magazines are about to go. She gets a promotion that Conde Nast suddenly she's in charge of everybody so Uh, Anna Winter, I think will be here long faster than we are. Right. Well, she'll be goodbye, Mr Tennis. Ever on printing press of all right, Thanks. Thanks. Johnny Aleksovski, Entertainment columnist from their post calling in from Toronto. Take care, Johnny. We'll talk to you next week, Johnny. Thanks, guys. Bye..

Um, those who are at the privy to the trailer shared a positive review of it starts with Neil Patrick Harris talking to Chiana Reeves, and it looks like neo is stuck in a dull world. Um, but if you watch the whole thing, it's one of those where it's, uh If you're a fan, I suppose of the Matrix films. You're going to lose your mind. If you've never seen one. You have no idea what's what's going on. And it's one of those. That's I don't know. The only murders in the building on who Lulu is pretty good. I really like it. You You were hesitant to watch it because Steve Martin and Martin short are in it and they've gotten older in our lifetimes like we all have. But they don't appear to be old men. It's not like you're going to wish for the days of 1992, Steve Martin, he and Martin shorter just as great as they were in the nineties. In in this show. It's about three people who live in a building in New York City, and they're all true Crime podcast fans, and there's a dead body in the building. "Somebody who do crime meta call a lawyer was all the carolina halloway situation was like. She's an influence so she's very much alive and now i'm very much aware of like if i have a celebrity on there is someone who's alive that we're talking out to be careful because we didn't realize until during the episode that carolina follows jameela and like loves her and she capitalized off this episode. So much she was attacking us they roll news articles and then at the height of it. She posted her titties on on twitter. And i was like wow legacy. Working scans would lead to wave. Why women putting nipples on twitter like i just didn't know congrats tavern. One simple. everyone one. I think but i love that. The idea that like you can have a show that is about scams but now like could capitalize on your show to further scams like that. I also am shocked. Every time i find that caroline calloway is still around. Because she's a scammer scammers. Never die. she's she's out here after that she got a book coming out called scammer. The girls are already like hey says we prepaid for the book. Where's the book i was like. Oh now yeah is a by. The book is vibe. It's feeling you pay your money in the you feel like you've got a book. Do you have a favorite all-time scam. Is there one. That comes to mind when i say the word scam. You're like that's the definitive one. The one that should stand for all scams. There are so many. But i really love. 'cause i'm from this is my home. State is texas on the sky named sandy. He was like a boring like very regular. Douglas mega white rain. Never you would never look twice. He could have gotten into the life of crime because you look at him hard and he was in south texas working at a famous bakery. That's super world famous for their Fruitcakes which fruitcakes are nasty. But i guess it's just a christmas thing people. I think that that feels like an old tradition. To be honest. I have not in recent years of my life seen anybody with fruitcake on display. Anyway it's very like if you have german grandparents or something. The bombers are still into the boomers. Still think it's cute apparently enough to make a very lucrative business so he came on sandy to manage the books of this fruitcake business so he's targeted to these books he start cooking a little bit. You know what i mean. He he cooking the books like stir fry he released siphoning money embezzling money out of the company and nobody notices that this boring as khaki like when i tell you like you've never met a more. Eddie bauer in your life like Eddie bauer he's regular. All of a sudden he owned jets. He he he and his. Pj's on the pj buying gold bricks. He didn't even know what to do with the money. His wife and him joined the country club and now the neighbors are like oh she used to be in like you know walmart flip flops. And now she got an awesome liked his shoes so she got a nice win rate like and then eventually they get caught by the feds. But i love the scam so much. Because he was like a pirate he went out to the lake dug a hole and buried his gold bricks and all his other valuables so he can hide them from the fed's obviously that didn't work because we know it but you're beautiful man. Amateur desparation is so fine. What are you going to do with the gold bricks. i'm going to go bury them in the water. Like people are amazed. Is that what you invested in like scams and these of stories because like even just hearing that what i always think about is like not the fact that like they're scamming and being on private jets and shit like that right you you you end up thinking like day to day. What is this person's life because you have this big lie that you're committing get out and so like one part of you is like do you. Just forget that you're telling this lie and do you just keep living it and like are you never constantly worried that the other she was going to drop or are you just constantly like a nervous person when you watch like a tv show or film or something when it's condensed. I'd be like that person. Day-to-day is constantly worth. They're going to get caught. Here's the thing. And i always say this on the show. It's not a lie. If you believe it okay. And i know yes yes technically. It is still alive but if you if you believe that you are still a good accounting you just deal in a low you know hundred thou- hundred thou- on the side a little bit you you're still gonna count in you know as far as everyone else inserted. He was doing his job. So i in america because america's the land of the scams. We were built on a scam as why they don't wanna teach critical race theory. 'cause they don't all the little white boys and girls at school to know that like the black people didn't come over here on an unpaid internship to build the country and you know his wife while we talk about lake segregation and racism after reconstruction. It's always like and then we bought them and we made it equal and it's like who is them. can we talk about. Who is we. Just keep saying them. And i think you know them as the evil bads who wanted black people not to have things who is them. So it's like everything is a bit of a scam in this country. So i think that it makes it intriguing to people because they're like. Yeah fuck the government. Any government on us got a car in the cigarettes during the pandemic. Did it come back. We was all waiting at the window. Like dead government where the stimulus that a government. Where where the vaccines like. So this country's a scam. So i think people are interested in scams because they know that they're living in one. I'm picturing myself facing the government and saying daddy government where the vaccine was to any government. Help me lewis. Who star and daddy government timothy. Shallow may looking up words. A daddy helped me. He's an urchin. It'd be based on a film from the forties called daddy government. And who would he be replacing. I say like alan ladd or something like back on. We just believed all short men had something mysterious about them but they were just showing on five four. These begging daddy government. Ira who plays daddy government. Who is daddy.

Along with slattery's their roles have yet to be announced while chester war massachusetts era. Whatever either way. I didn't. I don't know i've never had never been able to do the worchester or worchester dryer. I liked the fletch movies. The original fletch. Movies chevy chase. I did not love them. I was a huge superfan or anything. So this sounds okay to me. I think I i think it's interesting Choice for john ham to go. Do this key comedic role like this So i mean. I don't think it's i don't think it's undoable. I think he'll do a a outstanding job. I just you know. He's such a great dramatic actor. But i'd get alexa comedy muscles every once in a while. He and when he does lex those comedy muscles. I think he does a great job. I really enjoyed it in bridesmaids and whenever he was on thirty rock. I enjoyed those performances. When he did saturday night live he. I find him to be a great actor and just incredible charismatic presence. I do enjoy jon. Hamm but also having john slattery join him on the movie. I hope that john slattery doesn't play his boss. Cause that would ring a little too close to The madman days but with it being a comedy. John slattery has incredible comedic chops. And i. i've been following the long development of bringing fletch back to a movie theaters ever since the nineties. When i or early two thousand when it was supposed to be jason leeann. It was going to be directed by kevin smith. So i am. I am looking forward to to seeing fletch onscreen again and especially if it is going to be served on a lovely plateau by jon hamm. Yeah i mean much. Can't go wrong with jon hamm. He's awesome so we'll we'll look for that i don't i don't think that said when it was coming out We are when they plan that for that release But we'll keep you updated well. It is in production currently so hopefully. We'll see it sometime in comedies. Don't don't take that long. So hopefully i would. I would say summer summer of next. Sounds like the summer movie. Some we'll see next obvious strop today so everybody's talking about the french dispatch right Lots of people saw the the trailer they liked. It is supposed to. I think there's supposed to come out last year. But but this today and i wanted to bring everybody this little little piece. The little snippet of the movie At it's basically timothy. Shallow may in the bathtub. Pretty nude too. I think you see much but let me ask you this up real quick and then watch scene from the french dispatch excellent. Good old wes anderson naked eye can see that. Why are you crying tear gas. Also i suppose i'm said please thrown away from shy about my new muscles. Tell your parents your home. That worried unexpected. Back on the barricades. I didn't see any barricades. Well we're still constructing writing. A manifesto told them not to invite paul by the way. But you don't seem lonely to me. Exactly what the protests on top of a bookcase taking their historian us the people's kansas. Maybe you should study resolutions or anyway. We proofread parents. Think of good writer. Give it to me. It's a little damp fluently based on the cover and the first four sentence. Don't criticize manifesto remarks. I don't need no mark story. Only because i thought it'd be even more impressed by how good orators start with the type of typos. It's handwritten notes. i love that Yeah so i mean this this so yesterday we were talking a little bit about anthony movies right. This looks like it's going to be a anthology of sorts. It's basically It follows. I think four and correct me if i'm wrong for a journalist at this french dispatch and their adventures Individually so each timothy shallow as character will get a little story and then each of the of the main characters will get their little their little story in an anthology type style. I do not know how they. I don't know if they'll injure interconnect any more than that. They're all they all work at the same place the same Paper so very interesting movie. "One is slightly longer than our usual ones. But it's worth it when you get to the end of it. Hello losses and ladies everywhere or as we say. Australia sales to model safety boom. Here's yet another pet drink christian beware. It's a chew on this time. It's about the inspirations. The dune saga had judge lucas as he was developing the script for the star wars lucas obviously structured. The first drafts. After the hidden fortress by akira kurosawa adair. Some undeniable inferences from the university had found a way into the galaxy far far away nonetheless. The amount of similarities between stars into junior universe a staggering only within the obvious parallels. Of course you'll have to have edessa planet and this was the first planet. We seize June we have iraqis tattoo in. Is the home of the solid and recently as mandatory decreased dragons on june the roads the mighty send them also known as the child and then we have even more intricate perils. We have the figure of the chosen respectively entertaining. Luke whereas in june this the quiz rock being pulled The second next. I'll protagonists To willin lukin leah are the children of thousand rada june the mother of poetry. This is the dog of the evil baron. Harken one of them are fascinating. Paras is Mind trick also known as force patients for you are pitches out there versus in the dune universe. We have the voice which is basically an ability. Used by the bennett just rid of to influence and control of paper. The next one is a biggie. Chedda bandhu verses up into cheddar bendall was basically the name of the cheddar or the drafts and are described as the most feared boras in the universe itself research. I recently installed rebels will know and on the inside. We have partnered been do. Which is a bennett. Jesuit method of training at least to complete control one's nerves and muscles. This is also used with deadly effect in the junior's been do is sanskrit and means dot but also has the meaning of the point at which creation begins and become to unity so these are but a small collection of the more obvious paris. Now it's your turn. What are your thoughts on this. Yuma fire win ready. Okay okay so there's a lot to get through in that. Obviously but basically. We're looking at the comparisons between june and star wars. Which i think's seems really appropriate or now. There's a june film coming out. The maybe lights. This year is january january next in romans. one of baba's call might not mind on that one well fair enough. Well okay boy. You have read the june books right. Have you watch the films. There's one film david lynch film which got pretended in happen. Obviously this new adaptation of denise is big big budget adaptation. This is going to do justice to the stories and evil news. A wonderful filmmaker do worry is gonna go the bladerunner twenty forty nine route. Being excellent specially stunning. But make no money. Because it's still a very nice thing and we'll put his saying that look. There are clearly similarities. Between dune a star wars star wars nick a few things and having read the books and with a level of knowledge about the source material is far and above on our about it. It's fairly very clear that there that george thought this is doing things right for picking. If you mentioned tattooing and iraqis both both sand planets and both of them are extremely crucial to the hero's journey. Hero story the sand crawlers called sand colours in in both stories in star wars. You've got spice. On star wars sessions you've got spice and indunas called yes spice milan's which is a which annoy substance which does things to the moines similar to what spice does in in star wars decide lack in the sand worms again. You could easily draw. Comparisons a jew collectors are basically exactly the same as the most as the moisture farmers even things like the the imperium which is ever shnell. The empire is very the empire is based on that the characters the characters themselves you've got you've mentioned a chosen of anneke in verses polar these. They love to say too much because as i say. There's a big adaptation coming out soon. People know about it these these parallels at burn his mentioned. They're no these on spoiling such that. There are similarities. Layer lay token nima the there there are huge similarities. The way that the villain is layered. Shall i say is very similar to one of the villains within within star wars so which is again over jewish pig. That won't be you can't. It's very hard not to endure. Something called the voice. Which is the power which you know you the power of the mind which you can use to control the mind of another person. And it's very similar to how the force works as well and but also mentioned. But duncan idaho han solo by roguish the slug creatures. That is. there's a lot there. There's an awful lot of parallels within itself influenced so much of an alien is influenced by and prometheus bladerunner north dakota valley's different tremors overseas. It has improved so much stuff and star. Wars has absolutely been influenced. It's an amarjeet and influence is been next. Would if you all is no different to what deluca soup. Of course our or the flash gordon serials of also is not hard to believe that george lucas tune which was released in the mid sixties. Frank herbert wrote it in his. It's not beyond value of doubt that george lucas read. This was highly influenced because some of the perils are extremely similar again. If you can take a parallel and run with iran and chris just is even more conic of course then that's fine if if the parallels with the same throughout the journeys were ended up being the same or things were used in executive same manner than is almost as a rip off but hasn't ripped off dune but he's being dune is ripe for the the the scope of storytelling. Is there for people to read and be inspired by we know giorgis. He's happily inspired by so many of the great works of fiction out there so yes burn. Firstly congrats on a wonderful question. Depth that you went into clear that you'd love dune as well and at the parallels are there. I think when people see dune comes out starring timothy shallow mine. Everybody else in the world are think though see as well. I think you'll be parrot. But i think anyone could be justified. Parsing star wars ripped all this off so for me. Wonderful question absolutely there are parallels but i'll just think of the more amarjeet and hat tips and george being george liberty taking and recreating as i'm out. Okay right so. I've no sane june of not read dune had to do some a wee bit of research on this psalm. Coming from the perspective really locker. Aroon newbie okay. So i've i've read a few things of looked a few things. I'll be honest of you. First and foremost june strikes me as way more science fiction. That's the first thing is very easy to look at these things. That do actually seem very face. Value very literal and make the comparisons wire whereas i think deepak star wars. Maybe just screams more fancy term me right to me bear in mind. Read or watch this. So i'm just being completely transparent and honest heavier soy in comparison. Yeah and he seems like that to me right so i'm going to go on to my next. Point is the effectively when we think about it though. There does seem to be some similarities. Here is seems to me like that. Just effectively the hero's journey. Hey that's basically set in a science fiction any more of a future galaxy slash world you know. And that's you know san planet some blahdy blah blah. Yeah okay now. Let's compare that to the next few characters. Luke skywalker neo from the matrix. Pete's polka simba from lion king frodo from the hallway. Harry potter airport right archive that. Oh from luke's from data wayne harry's from the middle of nowhere middle england everyday person lying king simba's a lion in the plains. Frodo is in hobbiton in a really light reluctance life. They get the coats their adventure. Then i kind of struggle with the kutu to adventure than they meet their mentor. Right and then. I go and deal with that fast. Few challenges a fussy problems. And i get that tests and then a approach by a wise possum. You know someone who comes to them with solution and it all ends up with some sort of resurrection or return on the return of the king. It's crazy yeah so i see. This is just more of the fact that it's all the hero's journey the end of the day when you strip it down to its core. It's the it's the same story but it's walk. Fleshes out the bones. The makes the difference what people fall in love with you know. That's why some people crazy about one franchise and not so crazy about the other and deras similarity with da as many references. The do say that george. Lucas was indeed inspired by june. But you know everyone's inspired by everything he liked the film's georgia's clearly inspired by those. But you look back at the cursor films and they were inspired by american cinema and american cinemas then inspired by shakespeare yang. Then shakespeare was inspired by many other things some biblical right it goes it goes on forever and ever and ever. I suppose what i'm trying to say is that you can make comparisons if you wanna make the comparisons you can. You could probably create them and see them. There are some very face value. Literal ones with star wars in june. Because i think they're set in in simla context. Yes kind of context. July's light realities so they're both like kind of futuristic are no star. Wars is a long time ago but just bear with me. That's important to us. Yeah exactly so. That's kind of that's kind of coming from. That's what i got a kind of a good unsung by eight thousand interesting question. I think without a question like this ever before so seeing the film my boy i know there are people that really right june but also our say this because we're pretty on. There's lots of people that dun-rite june. And i say dun bova with effectively. They watch yeah they just say watch lord of the rings instead or read lord of the rings instead or watch star. Wars that you know. And that's that's what it comes down to. Yeah that's what it comes. Down to taste. Dune is is is a lot heavier. S-o-f-i didn't who is a perfect matadors that since it hero's journey home automative bat is been around for centuries reference. Every story has been influenced by the hero's journey. Not the ones you mentioned even go back to august homers. Obviously that is the hero's journey and how long ago that was right so everything is influenced by visually though yeah regionally the e undeniable that there are links and even in the sand crawlers and things and the how spicer me and that's to the voice thing that's clearly in multiple yes visually. They're all of life spur. I think the way that this. I think the way those stories go by themselves. You know pretty different than the blue boy mentioned the overall arc of the hero's journey but my that a filthy question dirty question. I'll tell i'll tell you one thing i'm gonna do is i'm going to go. Why am research more about it. Because i've done research this question but maybe it doesn't quite justify the theme in topic of the questions. I'll get a gun research more. Think well you got to do that. Oh, there were some really good movies And then on the other side of the scale that there was that bad moms I love that movie. I thought that was really remember that movie. We talked about it at length. Yeah, we both love them. It was a great comedy, wasn't it? And it was so it really made it put you in the shoes of those ladies and weapons What they went through being Moms. Yeah, it was. It was so cool, And it's so opposite of Mommie Dearest, but you know, there's been some pretty good movies that have been about Mom dumb. You know, people being Mom's Yeah, I see what you know. I always think of the old movies. But did you ever see a film called? I remember Mama with Irene Dunne was a great play, too. Yeah, it's a great play, and it's always the first movie that comes to mind when I think of like Mother's Day movies. I mean that Z one You could watch with your mom. Yeah, that was really enjoy. Yeah, Another one was I call this a mom movie, but you might call it something else. The Joy Luck Club. Oh, yeah. Oh my gosh. What a beautiful film that one. It was so good and the stories so different, so compelling and the relationships of these women had with their moms. I mean, I thought that I really liked that movie a lot. And another one that I really liked was terms of Endearment. Yeah, that's a good one, too. When I first saw that movie, I thought it was a little weird, though. I mean, I didn't know where them whether I didn't. I didn't know where Aurora Greenway was coming from here. I think you do. You love your daughter. Do you hate your daughter? Do you love your daughter? Do you hate her, But we know you hate her. Your son in law. You can't stand him And you let your daughter know that every waking hour. Yeah, I loved it. I thought it was great. And I thought I thought she surely McClane right. I thought she was like I felt she was perfect. Um and you know relationships with others could be complicated, and I never had a relationship like that with my mom. But relationships with moms could really be complicated. Mother and daughter the mother and daughter, I think more complicated than mother, son. But what? Why now movie that it was not that long ago. It was within the past several years movie where the scene I remember is the mom and the and the daughter are just going at each other cats and dogs and cats and dogs and cats. Dogs and they're out together. And they're they're like in a in a shopping center in a store, a clothing store, and then one of them goes. Oh, look at this. And the other one goes. Oh, yeah, that would look so good on you. It was like in them this battle against each other, but oh, it was. Oh, gosh, it was the Oh, yes, Bond movies. Come on. I know this movie. Yeah. You know why I can't remember the title because I thought it was way overrated. It was with, uh, sir Sir Ronin and Timothy Shallow may was in that movie. And Yeah, What was the name of that movie? Remember? Um oh, Ladybird, Ladybird, Ladybird, Ladybird. I just That was the relationship between the mom and her daughter that I liked about that. That was the best thing about it, Especially when they're arguing in the car. And she just opened the car door and falls out Members. Just get her mother to, like, Stop nagging her. She almost killed herself, Literally. Yeah, yeah. You know they're complicated relationships, but that it could turn on a dime. So you're fighting cats and dogs. Then all of a sudden, you know you're sharing. It's so true. It's so true. Thinks that when the Sigmund Freud would have some say about all that probably know, probably were there any because I know you're You don't see a lot of movies, Paul, but Alfred Hitchcock I know is one of your favorites. There was also the movie wasn't about mother, but she played a key role within Joker. Oh, God. Yeah. Joker, huh? I love your favorite movie. You know, stomach. I take exception to that. You know when you know what When I saw that, you know, he was up for all kinds of walking Phoenix, right? All kinds of weird. Yeah. Won the Oscar. Yes, he should. But it's not that hard to play a crazy person. Crazy. Yeah, You could just act stupid and that crazy? Yeah, maybe so, but his portrayal was pretty unique. It was pretty damned amazing. "At all but anyway there's a lot of lead queer movies that are clearly that even there's going to be something new. There was a deadline article and it was like emma corn from the crown and that will wipe boy. Everybody's obsessed with timothy shallow. May i ask him fuck. I'm mixing up my boys harry. Harry sounds they're going to be in something together. And i was like this feels quietly clear for some reason. I dunno quietly clear. I love it. It's not a thing that all people have been sending me mma corn things. She's been hanging out with christina. Queens arrived yeah of candor pulsing voter so i don't feel bad saying it because they're like obviously right trying to hide anything. Why there's if you go to both of their pages. There's of them together. Initial copyrights shots of them like going on like appears to be like an early morning. Walk or something so it's interesting but yeah def early morning walks. Is that a giveaway. They seem to be good for so. That's real cute. I love that in christina. Mcleans like she's british right or some. She's french is okay. What about sir. Sure ronin god i. Oh yeah i've seen the whole movie. Once and then one scene obame teen times we had to maximize the twenty dollar. Rental rows job pays ninety dollars to rent it on amazon. I can't believe of course they must have made so many off lesbians that weekend like it was crazy Wait caroline do you think sir searches queer then after reading about everything and seeing everything. Yeah i mean. I looked into it at before the movie. I looked into it. Mike she has. I don't see any evidence of her like being in relationships with men and that. But then i saw that now i think she is dating a guy which you know. I think she could still be queer. But but there's something about her like when i saw mary queen of scots..

"Calling Lindstrom Bradley trainer. Hello there. Hello. And what's the latest on army hammer? Well, you know, Armey Hammer is a cannibal according to all sources, and by that I mean his Lives for Emerson innuendo, but there are some really disturbing Headlines about Armie Hammer that we talked about. I feel like it's been the last two weeks minimum. Well, his wife, his ex wife, they estranged wife because I don't think they're divorces actually finalized yet. But Elizabeth Chambers, his estranged wife has finally finally responded. Finally responded the claims that her husband wants to eat. People's ribs. Exactly, And I don't mean the ones that they make on their grill. I mean, they're actual ribs that are in their body protecting their organs. Exactly. Thank you. What did she say? What does a person say about that? Well. Here's the thing. I'm sorry. I'm having a technical difficulties. Trying to get this toe happens that I couldn't give you the verbatim story. Essentially, she just responded on somebody's instagram account. Okay, well, that's how celebrities talkto us these days. So there was AH, if I remember correctly, it's a just Jared Instagram posts. About the news that Armey hammer this'll was actually an unrelated story. Now that I have all the facts in front of me here was a headline that just Jared shared Army hammers director and co star from Call Me by your name. Luca Gua. I can't say his name Luca and Timothy Shallow may are apparently teaming up for this movie. And the movie is a cannibal Love story. Stop! It's okay, So stop it right now. So they posted so just Jared, the block posts that story. That Timothy shall a man Luca are going to be doing a project. And, of course, that's you know, these are people that worked with Armey Hammer are going to be doing cannibal movie Well, Elizabeth Chambers respond, saying to this post about the cannibal story. She responds, saying You should cast Armie Hammer. Yes, no, not much better, though, she says no words. Okay. No, I'm not accepting this. No, no, no, no, no. No words. She has no words. Actually, she has two without she did have two of them. And actually, she has more of them because you on Lee, right? No words, because if she really didn't have words, she wouldn't say anything at all. I know she's being shady. She has. She's like I got so many words, but I must try to pretend that I don't have any. This is what I love about this story is that like They promised us that Elizabeth Chambers would be finally responding to the rumors that her ex is barbecue, his girlfriend's rib and she's like, look at that story. And and it's totally an unrelated story in a way, right? Like the fact that two people who worked with Armey Hammer are doing something cannibal adjacent. Yeah, no. This is like like, Yeah, but but it also shows intention. Because why would she comment on that story? Right? Right. Like, if not to make a point. She knew very well. Elizabeth Chambers when she comments on your post she was born last at night. But she wasn't born less. I don't know what she was born. At least there. I wasn't there. I'm just saying, I think she knew exactly what she was doing. When she made that comment, And to me, it's hilarious. And it says that she has a lot to say and is choosing at this moment not to say it, which is a crying shame for those of us. Out here trying to figure out what's real and what's going on in not saying it, she says. So much. For sure, because it's because she's choosing to comment. She's not commenting on the story. But the fact that she's commenting is commenting on the fact That she's got thoughts and opinions, and it's just making us all hungry for more, because if they know if there were No thoughts and opinions. Good one. Thanks. She would say nothing. But she's saying something by saying nothing. Exactly Very little. Really. She says that all when she says nothing at all. Wait, How does it go? You say it best when you say, say nothing. That's what it is. Um, because here's the actual Well, here's the real truth Can we be real real were doing We were just doing the truth. But now now we're doing the real know that woman stands to make a pretty penny. When she grants an interview to somebody Yeah, but she won't. She's got kids. And I think she's a normal person. You think she's a normal? Well, she married me clarify, Clarify. I think she plays by rules. In Hollywood for her own career sake, because you don't want that cannibal stank on. You know you don't like you don't need a Hollywood people to be like Oof! Yeah. You smell you've got some smell like somebody who eats people. Some people jerky that's hard to smell to get out. Dry Cleaning does need to trick But you see what I'm saying? Elizabeth Chambers isn't the type of person that strikes me that. Well, she actually I don't know that. I don't know that. I don't know it's entirely possible. Given what 2020 has taught us about humanity that she will come out and say something I do feel like though the fact that she said no words in this Instagram post indicates that She's got something to say She's got some words. Yeah, Yeah, because she could have come out at this point. Been like y'all. This is a no mess alive. Sometimes Silence speaks volumes, right? But I think you're also right. Like she has Children, and she is an attentive mother, and she probably isn't going to expose. I don't know, but I don't know. He doesn't seem like a responsible parent. I kind of feel like she is. I'm kind of waiting for him to make the next move. I think that will determine when and if she decides to talk Like if he starts to Eat people in front of us that Morgan, that might be a fine back. That might change things a little bit.

"And we knew about the Willy Wonka pre closing down several years ago. This is the dumbest idea at the time. Ryan gassing Donald Glover and has Remillard names were flown to Rome. But that was in 2018 2021. Now Warner brothers wants to do Wonka 2023, but the young Willy Wonka and here's who they're sinking of. Tom Holland woke up. Okay, Spider Man. Yeah, He looks like one. Timothy Shallow May. He's still skinny. Okay? I'm sorry. I have another idea for Warner Brothers. If he's not doing the project I want him to do for FX. Always. Harry Styles. Here's D No. Hear me out. Rocco, if they're going to make this movie If they're intent on making this movie, and if here he will do it. It's a good script. Why not have somebody that is? Wow Wow, That's Zao. He's wow. Love. Well, I first felt think it's a dumb idea, but it could be good. I'm sick of these things. Why can't they remake like Funny lady and funny girl even though you can't what new stories, fresher ideas. There's so much there is, but it means so many says. Time's different faces, and I don't know. I mean, look, it The last few years. We got Black Panther huge box of its crazy rich Asians. Huge box. I am ready. First sight, Huge box office completely different. Look at what they're doing that, Yeah, Hollywood needs to take a page in the new book. And just know that No. One Gene Wilder will always be the king of the story. As far as Willy Wonka right, there's just There's there's just no doubt. So if you want to give you get someone who will agree to be the young Willy Wonka. But do we need to know that story? Now I like it when people drop in my life. Are you formed at a certain age? I don't need to know everything about what happened to them and their upbringing. Why? Gene Wilder, Right? Chocolate factory, right? I just don't need to know what I personally came up with the Golden ticket. Who cares about that invented a machine that would pop off. Elevator and fly anyway. Hardwood you can do better. But if you can't do better try and get Harry. Okay, Well, great. Wow, my talk 171. Hey, it's Jace for.

So paul rudd. I know you do independent canadian films. So i've many my email already in this podcast. Maybe i can tweet this at you. I do not have the money to make this movie. Aalyah don't think it'd be very expensive movie so that's also the most expensive thing about this movie. Is paul ryan see. My brain is telling me right now that we need to build a pitch package for this and that's like a lot of work and i don't actually want wanna do it but part of me wants to do it. Well we already have the classic thing where one of the main pitch things you give to. People is movie beats movie. School of rock meets drugs. Is there a drug move. Is paul rudd. Proudly can't think of on right now. But i think we called it. A school of rock meets dazed and confused. Or ooh. yeah yeah could also school. Brock meets breaking bad. Though i often want the whole cast of stranger things was in it too right. Yes yes we decided to have at least been wolf part in it. Yeah fit finn. There's a time where finn wolfert was almost tom holland. He got into a lot of our pitches early on whenever we needed a kid. It was like in walmart. If the thing is going to be fucking timothy. Shallow may time. He's getting a bit too old for me. Pick him as damian wayne anymore but once you're you're next one five speaking of damian wayne oh five yeah five which looks like it's going to be a seven prequel but is actually a batman movie and in my mind it's stuck out because i think it's better than most of the batman movies that have been made in its concept first.

"Thank you. It's wonderful, but you're on on Friday night Saturday nights. Actually, I was really interested. E. We're really interested in the movie that that Joyce was speaking that and I want to get the title of it again, and I had a question about it. She Joyce, You emphasized that, um, space on the screen was very small, and I'm just wondering Would that have had anything to do with the restrictions of filming because of Cove? It Oh, you know, interesting question. I don't think so. I think it was based on, um Let me let me not make a mistake about this. I think it was based on another work. I think it might have been based on a play. And so it's a little bit theatrical. So it's z the setting and it so happens. I mean, you could probably shoot it. Shoot it that way. Because of I mean, it may have just sort of Been convenient in a sense that it was the work that didn't choir them to to, you know, travel all over the landscape, although there were a lot of scenes where people in very close quarters I mean these certainly these four although you can seal off the area, you know, with all the proper social distancing requirements, etcetera. Um, but no, it's just the way it was. It's really scripted that way. And because I carry it because I know I know they were doing a film recently, um by government center. And I didn't get the feeling from what I had heard about it that they were like the film that hand stay looking. Looking up, called the copper put in it from, you know, Timothy Shallow made a Meryl Streep Leonardo DiCaprio to Emily Blunt. I mean, everybody in the world is in that film, and they're all over the place. Uh, What's the name of the film that you were speaking that this film is called one night in Miami? Miami? Yeah, one night in Miami, And it's about Malcolm X. Mohammed Ali Jim Brown, a Sam Cooke and actually, you know in this cast is terrific. I was just looking up about Leslie Odom Jr. Who plays Sam Cooke. And he actually won the Tony Award on Broadway for Originating the role of Aaron Burr in Hamilton. I mean, the guy has major acting chops. Singing chops. He's just a terrific performer, and it's very interesting. All these air very distinct, obviously, personalities who come together in a pretty dramatic explosive when he I will say Yeah, yeah, Anything else? Well, I was just curious carries about that. But they also wanted to make a comment that through this co good thing I'm not one for going to the theater or going to movies that much. But I have been glued to my laptop downloading. Hold on Lee happy so, e. I would come up against these These films about pandemics and epidemics, and it's like I don't want to see any of that right now. So whole Mark was my savior. I have to say What about Disney Mark movies where it's always Christmas?
