"Bob sutton so yeah it is it is a little overrated to look at preseason production and and kinda take stuff off of that obviously worked for a guy like therese fountain. Although you know that wasn't just the production side of it. He just really looked the part as well. But yeah i think for tim ward. It's important to understand that is preseason. Production doesn't necessarily equal being a good player. You had found may be the exception to that rule. He really good production. This preseason as receiver even if it was against second third teams but we get all excited when we players making catches especially the the fountains and the Jody ford's end and those types over the last few years that production those stats those numbers. I saw some people. You were telling me get excited about shamed michelle from from a staff perspective. Yeah we get a little ahead of ourselves. There's a big difference between production box score. Production in the preseason versus the regular season. I'll give you another one. I think we overrate the interest. That other teams are going to have in the players that are cut from the chiefs so we every team has to cut down to fifty three players or cutting as many as twenty seven players in a span of a couple of days here. There's so many players that chiefs fans will look at a amongst the players that were cut and say. Oh they're never gonna make it through. Waivers saudis claim that guy. Somebody's gonna claim you know marlin character endeared door and and You know cornell powell and all the all these other guys. I think every team is dealing with the same roster member crunch and they got to find a spot for them if they would make a claim so i think as much as as i don't want to be negative about the chiefs players. I do think that we overrate Or maybe or maybe overweight what we have in those players or overrated how those players look from the perspective of other teams. Yeah it's easy for chiefs fans that do. Are you know any fan base to do. Because you're only focused on this team. You're not blowing the preseason and training camp every other team So i think it's easy just quake math for your stags. So if there's twenty seven players cut like you said not today's span By thirty one other teams. That'd be eight hundred thirty seven players all of a sudden out on the market. So that that that points to your you know your point. Obviously that just because we're focused on his guys leasing guys do well doesn't mean there's not eight hundred more other players that teams could be interested in so point but i i i on the other side will under eight something because i think as fans we underwrite the practice squad a little bit. I think we see these. Just for example cornell powell we see him cut and we're like oh he's a failure you know we didn't you know that didn't live up to the hype. Well i if he can make the practice squad and you can give them a redshirt year without ever having the pressure playing a real game so he can get down the offense and just perfect craft a little more. You know next year all sudden he could he could be a lot better than the preseason than ernest spot. You know practice there for a reason. And i think smart teams use it very well and i think the chiefs have always used a practice squad. Well we've seen guys like you know. Tim ward obviously didn't make the team initially but he's been a practice squad guy. The last two years at a you know that has shown something you know other guys as well you know pringle started out on the practice squad. He wasn't initially on on the team. I so i it stuff like that. You know daryl. Williams is another example. Well it stuff like that. That i think we need to understand that. Just because they're on the practice squad now doesn't mean they won't be key contributors in the future. I think devan keys candidate to be a guy that you know. He added this point. Preseason we're all kinda He didn't live up to the hype. You know maybe in a year or two all sudden it you know devan keys one of the starting safeties on this team and were touting beach again for finding an undrafted free agent. Y'all get predictions after the break. But i do think the chiefs are going to end up with a really really good practice squad that you can count towards the depth of this roster in you know. Maybe you can't keep four running backs on the active roster but if you get one of those fourth running backs on the practice squad the next just as good especially with the rules this season where you can have two players each week called up from the practice squad to the game and then right back to the practice squad without going through waivers. You can do that two players each week as long as each player hasn't had that happen to them more than twice in the season you can really think of these sixteen man practice squad as depth to this roster. That is probably not as likely to be poached as we thought so. Don't underestimate the practice squad. Turn your nose up at the fact that a guy got cut because the plane could very well be that. He's part of the practice is part of the depth of this roster and he's part of their future plans so i give some love to the practice squad votes. Not that's a good point. You made stags 'cause i was talking about more in the future. These guys could be available and be good players but with these rules smart teams to take advantage of the fact that they can bring up two guys a week and they can have these guys come up and play on the active roster for a game or two so yeah. I think that's important to know. But we also shouldn't underrate special teams. And i think chiefs kingdom has gotten pretty good about not underrating. The evaluates special teams you know jodi fortson is a perfect example you know i think we all saw it coming as soon as tobe was telling us that fourteen is improved a lot on special teams. I think that was like the key indicator that he was going to make the team. And then a guy like powell. You don't see him on special teams at all. No we already mentioned it but it just goes to show you that that really is especially if you're not a starter especially if you're one of the guys that that aren't gonna be playing every snapper even close to every special teams is very important and so we should never underrate that. But i think chiefs kingdoms pretty good about that by now. Yeah but i think if you look at the tail end of this roster and those players that were on the bubble right before roster cutdown even if they made the roster..

"Well he was successful but a week before the regular season. You'd think you'd be a little smarter not to do it. Then maybe feel a little better about not signing. And maybe also i don't know about you might be some veggie jew for most people. I was not too bad for him. He made it through it without. So hey you know to each his own. I will say that this time of year is pretty fun for us nerd to he really excited about roster construction about seeing how the chiefs are going to put this team together. Yesterday they started most of the cut down so the fifty three man roster at least the initial version of it. By the time you listen to this you'll hear the practice squad being formed run. I first impressions what your quick takeaway surprises. What struck you about the roster. Cutdown won't follow me on twitter. You saw me going through it tuesday night. After the cut down tomato official that tim ward was one of the players waived. I thought he had a really impressive training camp impressive preseason albeit against you know backup blind when he was never really used as a starter in any in any capacity but i thought i saw really good things from you had a really good jump off the ball which is always something. You can't really teach kinda just a natural thing had a few sacks had that strip sack canedo You know recovered. It could have been called an interception. Maybe but in the vikings game. But yeah i i thought he'd be sixty -fensive end on this team but they only went up with only went in kept five and i think defensive ends a really important position have good depth. That and i just thought he would be a guy that they keep around. Maybe he's not active every day. But you know he's someone that you can throw in there when you need so yeah i. I was very surprised. See tim ward go are do you have any big surprises yourself. Well on tim ward he definitely. He's continuing his development in the right direction and doing some good things and he's got the right frame and the right size for spags defensive end. I got a feeling. We haven't seen the last of tim ward so whether he's on the practice squad or he comes back to the active roster at some point. I would not be surprised at all to see him right back with this team. And making this a moot point. I wouldn't be surprised either. And and we will talk about but there are some. There are some a few different ways. We can get word back on the roster. But i just figured he'd be someone you don't even let other teams get a chance at because you know as much as preseason can be a little. You know over hyped a little bit. He did have a few plays. Where other teams probably could have seen that. You know teams that he played against good a scene that and said shoot. You know this guys you know available to be picked up. Let's get him. So i just figured they wouldn't even let him get the chance to be on the open market via a waiver wire pickup but they did and they know what they're doing but i just was surprised about that. Well for me. I would say the. The biggest surprise is really not surprising at all with would be the dave tobe factor. In the way this roster was constructed. We knew he had a big say in the roster. We knew that there were several players. That were his favorites. That would continue to be part of this team simply because of their special teams contributions. I think that came out in in this fifty three man roster with a couple of extra spots with with a guy like Chris lambs who made the roster at the last minute with really Didn't make the roster that made the roster found out in surprising fashion. But chris layman's a guy who is purely a special teams player probably at this point for this team. But he's a fairly dynamic one. You still kept during our daniel who is only a special teams contributor and there's a handful of other players that i think you could probably point to this rosser say there's four or five dave tope specials on this roster and to tie it back to the tim ward thing. I you know. There's only five defensive ends on the roster now they kept six cornerbacks. Was one of those being chris. Layman's i i would rather have five quarterbacks and then the sixth defensive end if you're asking me and i figured especially with the cornerback death this year i think you have five guys that you could trust at any time to go in and play. Well i think you know when you're talking about hughes baker. Fenton as your backups. I mean that's a pretty good death group. So i think that's the time you can get away with not having six cornerbacks. Just five of them. But then defense venue always want rotational guys especially with frank larkin and okafor both having their little injury things that we've seen this off season. You've just think that they'd they'd emphasize defensive. End depth a little more but it it goes exactly what your point is about tobe. He wanted lemons and they. They chose layman's over. A guy like war probably wasn't contributing on special teams a lot at all. I'm as a defensive. End and guy like armani watts to survives the cut as we kinda thought maybe he had a chance to to be his last year here and chiefs kingdom with the bond key comment kind of coming on strong but they went with watts over them. Although i will say watts kinda finished a training camp strong you just think maybe you know we he. He makes the team because he was the special teams. Snap leader last year and key as a guy that kinda had a weaker preseason to an extent after a strong start playing.

"If you like the arrowhead pride podcast network. We always say this. Please rate and review us all right. Enough of all the chatter. Let's get into the preseason awards and we'll start off with this one j most likely to improve by the end of the season. Who is your pick here. You don't want to go by pringle. I just think that you know. He's got the chance. He's flirted with getting the football. He was the chief gets touchdown pass last year in the super bowl. I thought he was eighty reads. Good graces got hurt in that raiders game. But he's just kind of been a guy just a guy that we talk about like barron prequels name doesn't come up people say. Kansas city needs a number two receiver or the number three receiver ball. He does is catch in works but off the off. I mean it's like atari kill type work ethic and the way he's developed and run routes and stuff. I think at the end of the year. We'll say by were pringles better than i thought. I'd say this every time the balls in pringles hands it really does seem like good things happen by the way i don't know about you jay. My favorite pringle flavor is sour cream and onion. What is yours. You'll i just like a standard cradles guy that barbecue schwartz achievement. Shorts was in studio carry. They were doing that barbecue barbecue. We've get those all those new flavors of principles at work. You sitting there staring at his resonated by the different flavors bring. i know what they are. But they're like bold barbecue and everything else mitch. Schwartz was fascinated with those. Yeah he is a food connoisseur. Now that he i don't wanna say retired. It seems like a little. I'll go semi retired. It seems like he's leaning insists barbecue. We'll see if he pops up later in the year as maybe tackles get injured. We know that offensive lineman can get injured. Want to give you my pick for most likely to improve by the end of the season. I almost went moco hartman. But i'm going to be frank here. I don't trust him. I'm hoping i'm optimistic. I don't trust him to be the most improved on this team. I'm gonna go defense jane. I'm surprised you didn't mike danna. I like the way that he looked at training camp and it seems like the team has really leaned into this player in the one on ones. He was rather impressive on what has been this. Rebuilt chiefs offensive line. So i like. Mike danna for most improved. I think he's one of the reasons. And i know tim ward was another one but mcdonagh was one of the reasons that she felt comfortable with getting rid of taco charleston at the eighty man cuts down leading into some of these younger players. Get a lot to eat that. But they've been moving him inside and outside like right chris. Jokers jones is fascinating story. You know didn't get invited to combine the chiefs still through a dark. Eddie mini way in the draft. I mean it is an ample guy. So i do like. This election turk warden. Tim word all those guys but might be pregnant hype. Up was so much love so much love for the offensive line and what they were able to do. The defensive line low key may be one of the points to watch this season for the chiefs. All right let's go to the next award and this is not really an award more so a low light. I guess you would say of the preseason for the chiefs who do you think is the most likely to regress by the end of the season in this telephone paint. I mean this is. This is tough because you can't on everybody. I'm gonna see the the necessity of freight cork pickler fine. We're we're in agreement here you you go with your reasoning. i what. We didn't talk about it but obviously when he got here he was expected to perform right away. You know and. I know that she's bringing journ read. The analysts says forty-one pressures when they were together that final season. Twenty-three dance sex. I just don't think the pressure's gonna be on you know. I don't know what the distractions are going to be with. What's going on or not. But they're not relying on him as much. He was a relied upon piece. That offensive line. I just don't think he's relied upon. Now could thrive in that type of situation. You hate to say it about a twenty eight year old but you never know yet. We have the off the field situation which we don't need to get into remains a mystery. And then i think what's been obvious and it shouldn't be obvious here is chris. Jones is switching to the edge position after what four years in the league and he's the best edge player on the team. And it's not even close and so i look at frank clark and you look at that twenty twenty two decision that she's up a decision here and it's a nineteen and a half million dollar decision with a team that is always thinking about cap space especially as patrick mahomes contract. It's more expensive. From a cap standpoint and so this to me with clark regressing in my opinion and agreeing with you is going to make the decision so easy for bread. Vh what would be bad as if clark was playing at a high level which we don't anticipate when you get to the two twenty twenty two offseason. Of course you want him to have success this year. But i don't think it's going to be even close to enough success to even think about keeping that contract number it will pick. I mean you look at the offense. It's a young it's of line. Niro right 'em oems he'll kill you'll get defense. Maybe hitchens from caloric i mean. I thought it was kind of between those guys. All right j. Let's move onto the next category here. We have surprise team darling and i know you like yourself j. A good darkhorse. Who's your surprise team. Darling here okay. I was a little bit confused by. This is trey smith count on that. I think so because he's a road game lot of national buzz for a rookie. Who's never played a snap. But i think. I think you can go with trey smith. Why did you pick him picture. Smith eaten going back draft night. Look at the value. But here's a guy with chiefs draft cap on media converts vicky billowing first cigarette picks. Get those things. Right is a six round pick. It's the chase head on right away i will. I love in south. Lebanon units on fox sports with the big club with jeff schwartz. I like his attitude. I like is this physician. Cerebral is to the game of football. You know going back to what his high school coach totally may. He's too big to be too soft. Flip the switch in ever..

"Games are dead. That's all he has played who saturday or six round pick homicide naissaar leading Who had been getting a first team rip in training of also in the competition all right Compounding the concerns With all these guys A lot of them are new to the linebacker position specifically share would in a sardine. They played safety at auburn in at florida. State respectfully The gist drafted them with the idea of converting them to to linebackers because of their speed and coverage ability Making these guys kinda like nickel bags more. You know less and more Speaking of sherwood though Sal hey made loose comparison to san francisco forty dollars all pro middle linebacker afraid of warner whom he coached from twenty eighteen twenty twenty he mitt from a size and position switch kinda of standpoint though not necessarily as far as him getting the same results in was came out today. Says i want to make sure. I say this right. I'm not comparing him to afraid yet. He's going you know ally. He's he's got a long way to go but for it played nickel in college and was maybe two twenty to twenty five his rookie year. We knew him and We know him at mike. Linebacker started him day. One in he took off so he's trying to basically do the same thing here. This guy In other injury news. Backup tackle conor. Mcdermott has a knee. Injury is expected to miss significant time. Backup quarterback mike white raza rib injury defensive in ronnie blair hamstring guard Lajevardi tucker has a pictorial strain. In watc- elijah moore has a quad injury in his day to day. So they're a little beat up. Banged up a out there at the facility but hopefully they will have some bounce back soon. Okay nixed we have a chris. Jones's positions changed Plus the development of some younger players players made taco charlton expanded in the kansas city. Cheese released the veteran defensive end today that she's are down to the nfl limit of eighty players so yes in taco charlton among veterans cut by the kansas city. Chiefs is just. It is what is coach. Reid said taco is going to play in the league. He's too good of a player not to it just didn't work out. In this case i agree jones's of jones's playing most of defensive in after switching from tackle and he an has to sacks into preseason games achieves are also pleased with the progress of mike dana and tim ward. So that's kinda who are filling. Those positions charleston joined the chiefs last season after two seasons with the dallas cowboys. And one with the miami dolphins he played in seven games as a backup with to sex before a broken ankle ended his season prematurely charleston. In the cowboys first round draft pick in two thousand seventeen had nine sacks in three. Nfl seasons before joining the cheese. That she's also could. Two veteran safeties veteran safety will parker in office of lineman bryan woodsmen and younger player. In quarterback anthony gordon in linebacker riley coal. They just had Limit a little bear than everybody else. Obviously and last night at least the cleveland. Browns have placed kicker cody parkey on injured reserve due to a quad injury. Which to know fine for two reasons. One kickers at one job did you need only is hard to find a good good good. Somebody's missing a lot too. They need they late cake again. He did know the forty nine yard kick sunday against the giants so he was good thinner but Last year parking took over the browns place kicking duties and week two in may nineteen of twenty two field goal attempts throughout the season Pretty sure pretty sure they want those Back okay they need the good bag healthy all right but hey software for a quick commercial break when we get back. We're gonna talk about these games. That happened in the. I will in the in the second week of preseason so stay tuned we'll be right back. Are you looking healthier.

"We all assume that okay for was soundly on this roster but yeah the the better. I see mike dana. Play the more. I think that that's the guy who would eat an for snaps. More than anybody. Else for taken clark snaps. Chris jones on the edge is going to be chris jones on the edge. Mike dina's evolution. And then as you said tim ward we're also taco charleston. We haven't talked much about him lately. So i i think okafor's on the bubble long story short and i think maybe talked with charleston could be as well when these young guys start to show out you need roster spot for those guys and i could easily see it being a shuffle where they keep you know an extra defensive end or two on the initial fifty three man roster and then they make a transaction. Something like putting oakland four on. If you wait until after the fifty three man roster set for could go on i r and b brought back you know in a shorter period of time and it wouldn't end his season and so maybe that's the way they they shuffle this thing as they they keep one of the one or two of these. Extra defensive ends the young players And then cut oakland four or put up for. I are instead of cutting him so that you can keep everybody in house and let it sort of self out of the season goes along. Yeah that's why they got to play a little Well like low puzzle. You know they gotta find which position you know which they could. They could cut somewhere else that they know they could get back. you know. maybe they don't think they could get back in okafor like you're saying you know just straight up cutting in that kind of thing so devon key or will parks or you know one of these guys. They could even during daniel if he is. You know in the hunt. These are players. That are maybe not known very much outside of kansas city that you could Play that fifty. Four th man on the roster game with and shuffle things up before and after the the final roster set. But i think it's pretty fair. We're putting oak before on the bubble. And and i think taco charleston might be notice as well the more you see out of a mike dana and even josh canedo and some of these other guys and tim ward the the more. You might think that there's more of a youth movement defensive end than we thought we have taco. Can't play man. i mean you know he. He hasn't he's been hurt. Most of camp. I came in kind of you. Came in early with with the quarterbacks and rookies because he was still a nursing. That ankle injury suffered last year and he missed the first preseason because of an injury so it is kind of concerning a little bit and if he just continues not to be able to play. Yeah maybe maybe that's how they do. Maybe they keep okeafor and they're able to keep tim more because tacos the odd man out you know and it kinda it it. It goes to show you that. They have a lot of depth that they're able to kind of you know maybe cut ties with someone that feels like a contributor but it it's a good problem to have i guess is what i'm saying and but i i would hope i would hope somehow they're able to keep all three the guys we just mentioned around him out so for taco charleston in some capacity whether tim words on the practice squad or okafor and the i r that's probably the most ideal situation you bet and finally the sock wide receivers before we get out of here. We've talked a lot about that last wide receiver job..

"It's going to be cut. I think they're going to carry that. Traditional full-back personally blake bells blocking was on full display on saturday. And it has been encamped. And he's done some really good things in that regard then so it's really just a matter of can gray and fourteen block well enough that they decide a blocking tight end is not as important or you know as you mentioned can bell take burton's full-back job you know and and do both so. I'm not sure exactly where they're going to land on that. But i think it's pretty safe to put at least bell on the bubble along with fortson until we see how this plays out. So yeah and one thing we've got to remember too. Is we have some young tackles. And i know brown has experienced but kneeing as a rookie first couple of weeks and actually i three weeks. You're playing some pretty good edge rushers. I know the ravens lost their veteran guys. Love justin houston. Which but you know chargers have joey. Bosa browns have myles garrett. You know i. If i'm brown's i'm throwing garrett on lee lucas neang side right i mean why wouldn't you And so that's when you want bell that's when maybe you need to kind. Just stay in and be a guy that always chips gear whenever they need an extra second. You know pass protection and maybe they just don't trust gray to do that right away. So that is maybe where his value is is is the most used. But maybe you know. As the season progresses if great improve himself more maybe then we see some sort of movement on the titan. I don't know we'll jordi or jodi forcing could probably still make the practice squad right like he's not going to get poached. I don't think he could. But amongst us fans i mean i think i think cheese twitter right now is gonna explode with this argument. That would be the first guy claimed if he got caught to head to the practice squad at. I'm with you i. I think there's a pretty good chance he gets cut. And i'm pretty good chance that it's going to freak people out because they think he's gonna get claimed then he'll end up on the practice squad and he'll get a call up at some point in the season. I think that's what's going to happen but you know. I'm open to the idea that they could go different direction. Yeah now the titan spot is is way too interesting for you. Know having the best highlighted in the league you know that much discussion behind. It is kinda funny but another veteran. That were kinda you know thinking about. Maybe needs to be on the bubble. The more we see this defensive line show out. You know alex four. If he's gonna keep getting hurt and guys like tim ward are gonna look good in the limited snaps they get you know. We've only seen him in a preseason game and act. Oh preseason game in terms of the week seventeen game last year. Although i guess he was going against starters the chargers did. Have the starters out there. But if you keep if you wanna keep him ward. That's seven defensive. Ends and you see if you include chris jones. That's eleven total defensive lineman with all the guys we've kind of talked about their not probably gonna keep that many you don't need to especially if you have so many versatile pieces that kind of the whole point is that you don't need as many guys when you can have guys play different positions and so that's where i kinda think you know if they really want some word around and and and want him contributing at at the low part of the depth chart maybe they can trust guys like dana taco charleston to step up and so they don't need a veteran like oakland florida enough snaps. Yeah that's an interesting one. Considering he was a late addition to the roster you would think that they brought him in for a reason and a veteran like him. It's not the same as cutting and undrafted free agent. We all assume that okay for was soundly on this roster but yeah the the better. I see mike dana. Play the more. I think that that's the guy who would eat an for snaps..

"Ward. It would be hard to cut him after watching that effort. Yeah and needed that. He needed that type of output in a game to make the case. Saunders was another one. Andy reid after the game wasn't really mentioning a ton of players by name specifically but he made sure to call out ninety nine after what was a week in which the defensive staff so now you have two players to me. Were question marks. The beginning of training camp in colin. Saunders and tim ward. And i just don't know how they're not a part of this club wants to fifty three man. Roster deadline is yeah. I'd have to agree with you. That's that's going to be difficult decision for the chiefs to make You know who do you let go you know It's i i just don't know so. That may be yet another place where the chiefs might have to think about keeping an extra player in right keeping another player in another group. And you know this is gonna be a tough fifty three guests. I think worth reminding everyone right now to. We are releasing this podcast on tuesday morning. Three o'clock arrowhead time later today. Tuesday that's when the chiefs need to get their roster to eighty five players so look for those cuts at arrowhead. Pride dot com are john. You're next baronet. It's way this is going to be a doctor. "So y'all wanna give some credit there Lyle let's land this plane. You have six surprises. Your sixth is actually my favorite. Because i love this kid tell me Why don't you introduce them for our listeners. Yeah i've been if you've been reading my stuff all offseason. I have been pounding the table for pass rush up. I'm like we do not have enough outside. Pass rush will you please go get some more And and i'm. I'm fine with them playing chris jones out there but you saw clear passing down. They were sliding chris jones back inside. So you're still going to need some guys on the outside. That can get pass rush in man. If tim ward wasn't the best outside. Pass rusher in that game. On saturday in. And i'm including frank clark in that conversation I don't know what game you're watching. Because i thought he was clearly the best On the field. And i kind of just wasn't letting myself go there with him this off season. He had the sack in the san diego game when they rested a bunch of the starters at the end of the year And so then you're kinda gone okay. The guy down sack and looked okay. But it's it's one week. I don't know that you can. You can count on that. But then they come out in the first preseason game in lick fantastic and get to sacks and it's very similar to me to what i said about The wide receiver core. Where it's like. It's not like you've gotta out some unbeatable guys to get playing time there. I mean i hope. Taco charleston is effective this year You know i hope Oh my gosh. I'm blanking on the guy that they resigned like the four. Yes thank you okafor. I hope okeafor can stay healthy for once in play well but those are the kinds of guys that were needs to beat out for playing time. I don't think that's a big ask at this point. I mean if those guys are clearly better than him great. They play if he's clearly better than they are. They don't have any long term investment in those guys similar to what i said about the wide receivers so man. I am now cheering for tim. Were to be good so hard. Because since they didn't go out in design any big pass rush hell man if he could be even just like an average edge. Pass rusher at the nfl level. Signed me up. We need those guys. Go tim ward. So you're saying. Tim needs to ward off. Okeafor and joshua canedo well done that is exactly what i'm saying. Ward up okay. Cameo man a..

"Here's what you need to know for monday. August sixteenth. We got third dot in gaul or two. If they don't go out here till by chill quarterback paul her shell will skip him. They answer arthur her. A kansas city touchdown. You know. it's the preseason when we're talking about a potential third string quarterback orchestrating a game winning drive to steal it for the chiefs. But that's exactly what happened saturday. Night against the san francisco forty niners the undrafted free agent from. Smu shane boo. Shell ran the ball. One yard for the score as the chiefs knocked off the forty niners nineteen to sixteen. I just go go play. We kind of had them coach done. I shall we get them kind of coached up on plays in advance that we're going to use so worked out and go play. He did who shell finished. Eight of eleven for seventy six yards and the game winning run on the read option. Meanwhile wide receiver degrees fountain trying to stick in. The nfl led the chiefs with four catches and thirty eight yards. I really want to into the game today. Just say i gotta take my website. You know kodori joe. Everybody does even doing really good job of helping prepare. You know get ready. What he's preseason game just to get opportune showcase. My skills. Fountain is a fifty freeman roster hopeful but considering the room is so deep he likely projects as a practice squad wide receiver. Yeah well a couple of guys out there working in there. So i thought we i shout snaps. He's on a night that everybody was looking forward to seeing what the cheese would do on the offensive line. It was the defensive line that stood out despite missing both frank. Clark and derek nadi defensive end tim ward was the chiefs best defensive player registering five tackles and two sacks. The other defensive standouts in the game were ninety. Nine is read mentioned. that's count saunders plus turk warton and de'andre baker. Chris jones the hybrid defensive lineman extraordinary got his first sack of the preseason lined up on the inside. Speaking of jones tonight belong to sack nation as a whole which compiled five sacks in the game. I left him in there so they get a little bit more work than i wanted to get. Chad's work with them so it worked out good. They thought they did a nice shot. They're they're getting there. We saw play room to go but they've Where we're at right now. i'd say yes. Do we need a better that. Yeah we need to keep working together. Chief starting offensive line of orlando brown junior. Joe tune crete humphry trey smith and look neon did look good with their first play together leading to a ten yard. Run for running. Back clyde edwards allaire. What else you were. Definitely pride ourselves on Is is really just setting the tone and upfront. Franco's heck is emphasized that Me of emphasized akzo -tuni- and all the other guys as well. So that's really just been a myself being able to set the tone especially in the run game when they call it on number. That's exactly what you want to hear from the chief starting left tackle. They wanna set the tone in twenty twenty one other standouts on offense were fountain as mentioned plus jodi fortson jerick mckinnon and byron pringle. Who had the games only receiving touchdown we also have to mention punter tommy. Townsend whose offseason work appeared to have paid off the guy coffin corner to punt on the one yard. Line something. I really only thought was possible in madden mustache mondays. Maybe so what's next for the chiefs. Well it's about that time of year where we say saint joe. We hardly knew you. The chiefs returned to practice today in saint joe and go monday and tuesday before the final day of saint show on wednesday. Then it's back to kansas city to get ready for week. One against the cleveland browns. Oh my god. Time is flying at fine here on the arrowhead dry for monday. August sixteenth as. We always ask. Please go ahead. "I just wonder bread. Vh trade any death does he have adapted ptsd in a sense where it's like. I don't care. I don't care if you're a starter. You're staying here because we're not getting into this rule and having what happened happened agai- gonna have thirteen offensive lineman on the team this year. Fifteen fifty on the other. The other ten offense of players are just the rest okay. Let's go to your next headline chiefs released tight. End nick kaiser. Now i got nothing against nick. Kaiser you know he's obviously not a great flashy tied and going to get up a lot of receiving yards but if the chiefs released him before the training camp that says two things that noah gray has really impressed them in training camp. I'd love to see that and it also says that they're very happy with what blake bell is doing. I would love to see a situation. Where the chiefs can go into this season with kelsey blake bell and noah. Gray doing very well. And that would be indicated by the chiefs releasing nick kaiser. Sorry we're having we're having fun with the segment that's an actual headline. We're going to say i'm telling you. I sure that they're going to go with the three that you just mentioned in kelsey bell and gray. There's just too many signs from around the nfl of people. We know that she talked to the schrager. Riddick's that are high on gray and great to get some of this low key buzz. I think he's definitely. You're not three to start the year. And then who knows by the end of this thing if he's getting that dimitrius harris type of love getting past balanced tight end to. I know that bell is. He's a better blocker than what gray will be at least a start but who knows i mean as on that could change all right. I'm gonna go with the mahomes headline all right. Patrick mahomes comes up with yet. Another new arm angle. And that's what happened to be. I mean we've seen it almost feels like we've already seen three hundred sixty. I mean this would almost have to be a like behind the back between the leg type of situation. But what i will say. And there's a serious part of this. That's the beauty of going up to saint joe at training camp Because there are times when it is an unwritten rule among reporters where you don't report trick place and sometimes you can only see and hear about these things if you're at training camp so patrick mahomes and the chiefs are working on a trick. Play where he steps the ball trying to picture this in shotgun position and he goes right arm under his left leg in some type of screen. Pass that's ever going to be reported on airhead. Pride dot com. That's that is an unwritten thing and okay. You want to say pete. No that's never gonna happens. Really we have seen him to look past. We have seen him do a derek jeter flat out under his arm type of three zone so behind the back. We know he's been working on. So look. say what you want and yeah. I'm having a little bit of fun with this. But yet never know with patrick. Mahomes get up to saint joe right. No i think that would be a terrific headline to see. It'd be terrific to see him. come up with something. We haven't even thought of yet. I mean that's what's crazy to me is that we wouldn't even have anticipated some of the things that he's done that pass on the super bowl. Which obviously wasn't planned thing but the homes works on that kind of thing wrote. If i'm in this situation where i have to throw a pass with both my feet off the ground You know laid out sideways and it was a great pass. He's denver broncos first season with laughed hand. Yeah how could you real out anything. Yeah you really can't yeah. I like that one beat. I liked that one a lot. All right you're up defensive end. Tim ward credit three sacks during first team reps now. Obviously he's not going to be sacks right during these training back yellow jersey. That's why they were the elder right. But there's gonna but what we'll see. Tim ward go in there and get credited with three sacks during first team reps at training camp. What that would mean is that the chiefs are very happy with him and he's getting first team reps and he's doing very well when he's in with the first team and this would be why the chiefs didn't make a big move in free agency for a defensive end is because they're very high on tim ward. They've invested a lot in him at this point. And i think it'd be fantastic to see an indication before the end of training camp that their optimism has been justified yet going back to two thousand nineteen when we were still allowed to practice. Tim ward was there in a cap and he was coming off an injury out of college and they kept him around and watched him get the mental reps for a year Involved last year so now we have a year in the system under his belt. It's been hard on the guys that really weren't able to get wraps because they weren't able to get an off season last year a year. His belt that should be a full off season this year. So this is the now. We're never time for tim. Ward grand opportunity. We don't know what's going to be happening with frank. clark melvin. Ingram is not in the building. It feels like it's anyone's job opposite. What could be clark. What could end up being. Chris jones depending on how the situation shakes out. So i like that. One and in tim ward and i don't think that would have kept him around this long if they see that ceiling for him and so let's see if he can pay that off when they need it now more than ever. Yeah speaking of the defensive side. I'll stick with that. Willie gay giving off serious derek. Johnston five all right oh yeah. She's been missing that really atlantic linebacker. Maybe since derek johnson has been what was in oakland raider and then he ended up retiring. I don't think that they have had that when they drafted willie gay. I think they had that in mind. We had derrick johnson. Here on the arrowhead..

"Heo still brett vichai made that call two thousand eighteen to you know it's not like it was john dorsey. Now it's bert beach. Brevard made the call to move on from houston so same front office saying defensive coaching staff but everyone else is the same. They made that decision. It just too weird to go back. But i do think this leads into another point from josh web on twitter which i think josh is a good chiefs follow. He has low expectations for joshua canedo and he was just asking was because we seen from k. Pass and bruin speaks. Naturally you have low expectations after seeing them perform. But i think we need. We need to have low expectations for joshua canedo. I don't think it's an unfair thing. I think it's important that we have low expectations actually because he was a fourth round pick just because he was a five star. Recruit out of high school doesn't mean he's going to automatically be this this great. nfl player. And i've in the past blamed the florida state. Coaching staff a little bit. They've not gotten as much production out of their players sometimes in years past and then wants to become in the nfl. They might get a little better. But i just i just think we need to have low expectations for canedo. Anything he does. This year is gravy. But if he doesn't see the all this year. I don't think we should be disappointed or surprised. Or whatever you know. It's just he's a fourth round pick. This team has some good edge players. you know better young still but have more experience than him and tim ward and mike dana and obviously out chris jones playing edge. So what do you think about that Do you do you agree that we need. We need to have low expectations form. Absolutely i mean. I think if you look at the theoretical rotation right now and you've got clark and jones on early downs. We've got to players. That can stop the run. And get after the pastor mostly from a power perspective When it comes to jones and then on obvious passing situations than jones is probably gonna slide back inside and then you might slip in a situation will pass rusher but the first guy off the bench for situational password should be taco charleston and then after that Maybe they find ways to to put canedo in very obvious. Opinion ears back straight for the quarterback. No other responsibility type type roles. But i'm not sure that that's a role that they've really employed that much in this defense. I think they expect a lot of their edge players and they have to be intelligent. They have to know the playbook they've got a lot of decisions to make when they're on the field and it's a lot to expect a rookie to come in and be able to make those types of decisions. So this really goes back to that. Melvin ingram conversation. As do you bring in another veteran to fill out that depth chart or do you bank on the development of some of these other guys are the really if taco charleston is healthy and he stays healthy. Then you've got a decent rotation with clark jones taco mike. Dana especially on passe around Excuse me on running downs. Then whatever you get from canedo or two more to these other guys this is gravy It's only if you lose one of those guys that you're really looking for somebody to step up in a in a big way or for the role to be expanded so keep expectations. Low on canedo and tim ward. You know i think maybe. We're ratcheting up expectations on mike dan because he had such a substantial rookie season. Any is he. Looks like a veteran when it comes to especially playing the run and he's got some hustle saxon there. He's got some ability to to make things happen on the field so he might be a bigger part of the rotation than we think. And i think he's certainly a big part of the rotation than canedo is at least for this year. Yeah i think dana. I know. I've talked about how he's he's a rundowns is guy that you want on early downs. Maybe rather than later downs for other guys but at the same time like you just mentioned. He is a hassle player. he's got a high motor. he's got some good hands too. He's got good hand technique. So i do think he could keep developing as a pass rusher and maybe become you know. More ver- threatened that area. Then he wasn't rookie year because obviously it was a fifth round. Pick rookie only played at michigan. One year after playing at a lower level so he he is still getting used to kind of the the upper level but speaking of veterans you. You kind of mentioned maybe bringing someone in chief smash forever our guy. He actually shouted out a outer structure as the best podcasts on the. ap podcast network when he asks this. So shout out chief smash forever. We love our fans he has. How many veterans do we bring in during camp. He put the over under it to now. The chiefs have ninety players on the roster. So there you can't bring anyone in without cutting someone else. Which is obviously they can. Do you know it's not out of the question to do that. But we're about a week out of training camp. Now that hasn't happened. You'd think they'd maybe make a move before training camp to get them to get a veteran. You know in training camp the entire time not midway through it but do you see them bringing in any veterans. I truly don't but especially. Now that mel melvin ingram off the board. But do you see them having any need to bring in a veteran during camp. They're always kiefer is open. Bread beaches made that pretty clear that there's lots of ways to acquire players and players become available that you didn't expect to become available know ron k. Talked about Xavien howard as a potential trade candidate. You know there's a there's gonna be names like that they're gonna pop up. I mentioned last week. A rumor that jerry hughes the buffalo pass rusher was maybe on the the roster bubble. There there's gonna be a lot of potential names are available. I think that they're going to to camp with this roster but when the opportunities come up you know they're not gonna say oh we've already got ninety were done you know they feel the ninety man roster there are plenty of of you know under free agents and and you know young trial players that that are being given a chance to to come to camp that are not necessarily guaranteed any sort of a roster spot or even a practice squad spot at this point. You know we've been talking about the roster bubble all season there's a raw offseason. Excuse me. I think there's probably fifteen twenty is that we could say are on that bubble. That could go either way. And so there are certainly going to be roster turnover. I think there is every year. They're going to be keeping their eyes open for available talent. I don't know that they're desperate to add a veteran at this point. I think they've made that pretty clear. They've they've got a roster that they're going to go into camp with a lot of young players to compete now if the competition isn't isn't going the way they want to or they have a couple of injuries and yeah they're going to go out and add to to fill those roles. But i wouldn't hold my breath on any recognizable veteran acquisitions in the near future. Yeah so just go off a few guys that could be you know if there is a veteran that comes available in one of these positions could be an easy cut and we don't even think about it you know. There's there's an austin edwards and tyler clark on the defensive line have we ever heard of those players probably not so it. It's one of those..

We had derrick johnson. Here on the arrowhead. Pride podcast network and johnston saw a little bit of himself in gay. Same points about ward. I don't have to repeat them with not having you know that rookie offseason. He has had that. He's one hundred percent healthy off of that. Meniscus injury and damian wilson is no longer here and achieves really need him to perform because if he doesn't right it's to be another situation where ben neiman is going to be getting a lot of rap. Ideally they want anthony hitchens willygate. Beat the guys this season i think. Bend him in his on his team. I think you hope that's in more of a special teams role because of day is on the field. You're going to be a better defense. Yeah i i think that's exactly right. I'd love to see that headline. And i think it's Quite a possibility. I think there's a good chance we'll see something very much like that. All right john. Do you have any more for us. I have one more after this. I have one more to you. Okay here we go. You go first. Yeah okay this is non chiefs were getting back to a non chief story as we did the show. Nfl fines buccaneers one million dollars for failing to report tom. Brady's mc l. injury lasts in yes. I'm sorry this pisses me off. I mean i'm the rules. Are the damn rules you know and it it infuriates me that the buchan ears had already been fined for this now that the story is come out that brady had essentially a serious injury that wasn't on anybody's on their injury report all of last season when it should have been. The rules are very clear on this. You don't get out of it just because the guy took all the practice reps even if you get all the practice rupture required for these injuries to be disclosed. Now i'm not even get into why these rules exist. The fact is that these rules do exist. And tom brady should have to live by him just like everybody else. I think it's bad enough. That fans think that brady gets the benefit of calls during games. I think you're just making that that narrative easier for fans to believe if you let him get away with this kind of crap. I'm just infuriated by it. And i'd like to see the nfl. Do the right thing and really make the buccaneers and example. And and i'd also like to point out that maybe this means it isn't really that bill. Bill check cheater that maybe it's tom brady. That's the damn cheat so we'll get that out there. I think you make a good point..

"Patrick mahomes in the sense that this of course would have made aaron rodgers a richer player when it comes to the quarterback position than moms but he is so disgruntled in green bay that he did not accept the contract so some news around the league today. That kinda has to do a little bit with the kansas city chiefs if you wanna make those ties but more so in kansas city looking toward training camp as we talk about other teams in. What is the afc. Melvin ingram who we had looked at and talked about on this show as a target for the chiefs. He ends up in pittsburgh john when you saw this. What was your reaction. Well it took me a minute to come to this reaction. But i think what i now believe. Is that the The chiefs Aren't worried about frank clark. Missing time this season right. I think if they thought frank clark was going to miss any significant time this season then they would've signed him up a couple of weeks ago Because they haven't done that. That either means that clark is going to be around. And they don't feel they have to have another veteran player into step in for him Or it It means that they're happy with the people they have anyway and They didn't like what they saw in ingram when he came in for a visit. But i think the the main thing is though that it suggests that the chiefs Don't believe frank. Clark will miss time this season. I would tend to agree with you. I think if there was a real fear that he would miss a grand chunk of time. Maybe they make this move in. Rappaport actually said this on a podcast lever. Was the pat mcafee. Show that connected ingram to the chiefs so they let him go to pittsburgh which is in the sense in afc rival. I don't think the compensation was ever in agreement. There i think the chiefs. Probably i would guess would wanted ingram on on more of something where it was incentivized and so now i also something in addition to frank clark about their confidence some of these younger players in being able to pick up some of the slack in taco charlton. Tim ward mike danna maybe to some extent if they think they can get him. Ready josh. canedo the rookie. Who profiles to be that tanno paseo type of player for the chiefs. Don't forget back. No low really liked the measurable santana past on and made the most out of them. We thought pass would be an easy john. Dorsey remnant cut really took a to paseo. Who's down with the new orleans saints. So judge canedo i think. Certainly in that mix. And we have some other names and damone harris and of course we have to mention our guy austin edward. So we'll see absolutely and see what the chiefs do. I know that a lot of fans have been saying. Justin houston is still out there and i continue to say back. I think that chapters already been written. I haven't book is closed on. Houston returning now. You never know what can happen. We just talked about acres. Injuries can impact that and maybe there is a scenario in a desperate situation that kansas city go into direction. I don't expect it and so honored. We go melvin ingram now. A member of the pittsburgh steelers. I thought this was interesting. We mentioned it on. The arrowhead. Drive is our kicker on monday. Atari kill has a new alter-ego on social media. I love this is dressed up as a grandpa. he's got white hair. He looks like he is just an older gentleman. I imagine it's going to be tyree kill and public going to a park and then challenging some younger folks to a race. Do you think that people are going to buy it but the disguise to me. I mean i know exactly what tyreek hill looks like. I've covered him since the beginning of his career. I could easily tell that. It's him. But i know it's him and i was left looking at that instagram that he posted in wondering. Is this really going to work. What did you think about well for one thing. I just like to make it clear that. Not all grandpas look like tyreek. Hill does in that picture. I thought it was really cute. I thought it was real effective disguise And i think that he could go out in public in. Some people probably wouldn't recognize him. I i know you would be because you've been around him a lot more than most people have. And it's a lot easier recognized somebody that you've been around versus somebody. You've only seen pictures. Yeah there's a pizza commercial out there. Well where they try to address shaquille o'neal and a costume and you could just tell shaquille o'neal and i'm just wondering is this going to be that type of thing where people just recognize them right away if he does it in. What is kansas city or georgia. I think it's more likely. But maybe if he goes away from missouri and kansas and georgia and let's out to a random park in florida. For example florida andrea is that the yellowstone. Or something right. Yeah we're just. He's not recognizable at all and people don't know him. I think he's gonna have a better chance. But i think that's going to be a fun video series whenever it does come out. Where when he finds folks who are tricked and he just looks like the flash out there at the park and kane white hair and whatnot so chasing down Personnages or something. Right that's important. That's a public defender in a sense. Okay let's get into our next piece of news can city chiefs and the minnesota vikings they are getting the national preseason treatment. Let's remind folks right that the preseason games this year there's only three of them instead of four so now two of the three chiefs. Preseason games are on what is national television. So that's that's a cool thing. They i play the san francisco. Forty niners that is only local. That's on saturday. August fourteenth ks. Hp friday twentieth at arizona will be on espn and the one added. I as i just said chiefs. Vikings on august twenty seven. That'll be now on. Nfl network also case. Hp for those of you who don't have it as well so some national treatment. I'm still wondering how. Andy reid is going to handle three instead of four. Andy reid is the ultimate creature of routine and habit and.

"Try to enjoy it as much as i can. Walk here because this might be the greatest generation and keeps in chiefs kingdom history. I know one thing that you wanted to talk about. And that's melvin ingram or justin. Houston which. I'm sure is going to bring a lot of groans from the people listening. Why did you wanna touch on these guys. Yeah i just think i mean. Here's the thing right. Now what the chiefs have in the defensive end group is clark taco charlton. Tim ward mike dana. And joshua canedo. And i know everyone says you know chris. Jones is gonna play a lot of defense dan. I while i do believe that. I'm not going to put all of my hopes into that basket. That frank clark christians are going to be on the edge you know sixty sixty five percent of the time and that's gonna solve all of our pass rushing problem because at the end of the day the chiefs are looking at the buccaneers and maybe a handful of other teams as their real competition to get back to the super bowl and all of those teams have you know except for the buccaneers of course mobile quarterbacks to the point where they can at least get away from the rush so the chiefs have to get better at that. They can't really have the the struggles that they had last season. And it's hard to know whether you're gonna get you know a bounceback hear from frank frank clark or not or if he's going to be completely available with this you know situation that transpired in california so outside of assuming that chris jones becomes the starter on the other side. I really do think that the chiefs need to beef up the defensive end group and so i mean the two guys right now right that are out there that are probably the most appealing are going to be. Melvin ingram and justin houston. Now i get it. Justin houston obviously for some people. It's it's kind of a little bit of a turn off but i would just say from a talent standpoint. Who would you rather have is in my opinion. There's one guy that i think is still very good. And there's one guy that i'm i have some serious questions on so i'm actually kind of curious before i say who i'd rather have which one you would prefer l. Justin houston just has been better than frank clark over the last two seasons. Okay you can take the play offs of the equation..

"It's Scott Sloane, This is 707 100. Wlw 700 wlw back already. Slowly here, 700 wlw, Um Coming up in just minutes here. The pro truth pledge. Some 1000 politicians have taken this and we live, of course, in the post Truth era right now, Truth is what you make a truth is something to be negotiated, nuanced and, of course, twisted into your agenda, And that's true regardless where you stand on political spectrum. I think there's enough people that are getting tired of this thing and how exactly a true pro tooth pledge would work during. Let's say, I don't know a presidential race and kin in an age where the truth is negotiable, Zay said. How can one be the final arbiter of what's true and Tim Ward on that in just minutes on 700 wlw in the mean time talking about the Netflix movie cuties and the most disturbing part about this is you're just joining us here. They cancel Netflix hashtag is trending still over this movie. That it's a French subtitle Finn What one at Sundance. And it depicts a 11 year old girl who is Somalian descent are think she's single Ian Discernibly anyway. She's her family is Conservative Muslim and she lives in France, and she meets her next door neighbor who is in a dance group. She then this Ami girl, then joins the dance group. The 11 year olds that they try to enter a dance contest, but realize your moves aren't that good. So it's Tommy suggests a really hyper sexualized and Twerk and Anyway, the movie is shot in it. It's It's one of most disgusting pieces. I think you'll see because it's just uncomfortable to watch. It's not that the material is not relevant or sensitive or true, because you know the exploitation. The sexualization of the scare regard of young girls is something that's a real thing. But the way they presented this is what's offensive about it, because it is almost like kiddie porn in a way. Not not obviously not fitting that definition, but You know, there's an element of pedophilia here. You feel worse for watching the saint. You feel dirty by watching it normal in a movie that the pics and I think there's a movie I want to say it, Stanley Kubrick. Lolita. Back in the day that it's a love story between an older man and a young young girl. But even in that movie, you never get that sense that that there's actual sex or there's sexual exploitation going on there and this. That's what it looks like. And I think the thing that the takeaway for me is if you look at something like rotten tomatoes, it's just an aggregator. By the way, it's you know, it's not them doing but 90% of film critics. 90% of film critics and those are generally people who are pretty educated but also live in big urban centers. 90% of critics loved this movie 90% of viewers, meaning people like me, and you hated it. So what does that say about? I guess maybe the media elite. And and other things, too, You know, you talk about the distinctions and also, the disconnect between flyover country in the big Cities of this to me, is indicative it. I don't know how you and if you're a film critic, he spent a lot of time watching movies. I get that and so they all blend together and you're looking for something to jump off the screen at you. I know that's not lost on me. But at some point you watch it. So you go. Wow. Those are 11 year old girls who aren't you know they're not simulate there actually. Performing the sexualized scenes. This isn't Make believe Hollywood these air, really young women who are doing this and that's you know, that's the disturbing part at 513749 7000. Michelle in Gulf Manager in the Scots Alone show. Hi. Good morning, are you I'm good. I agreed with every single thing you've said so far about this movie. And I mean, some of your descriptions were really graphic, but I'm glad you you made this. Well. I think a lot of people don't have Netflix and you know I don't wanna be late, You know, titillating running, but you get you gotta know what it is What it looks like you weren't You want it all? But okay, My point is this. I think it borderlines. Of pedophilia. I certainly dio because with like, well, Brooke Shields when she did pretty baby, okay, There was a little backlash on that. But that was not the kind of movie she was 12 years old in that movie That wasn't the kind of movie but not be careful how I talk. I don't want to be titillating either, but it's not kind of movie that you have find a 50 year old man and in bed, watching it with a bottle of lotion. But this cuties, um I saw enough of it. I saw a couple of trailers and I don't have not flex that. I somehow I did come across enough of it. You know with that? It is the kind of movie that a 50 year old man when? Yes, Yeah. Yeah, I know what I think you're watching. And you go. Oh, just, you know, if you have a sense about you watch it. It just makes you feel. Uncomfortable II like uncomfortable felt like Bora and things like what's coming up? Somebody's goofing on some of that. This is a whole different level of like I should be watching this because I think I might get in trouble like this isn't right and that you're all these forms go off. It looks illegal. Yeah, right. Right. Just the way it's film. Kind of like you're looking at, you know you're peering into their world. I'm like, I don't want to see that, you know, and it's not making me think about it. You know women and how they it's just the whole pandering and then when they make the excuses up about You know how this is engendering women and bowling and feminist. It's important. It's a NASA were recruiting discussion and debate to try and find solutions to these problems. It just I'm sorry. You know what if you're placating here Now this there's no messages. It's what isthe Yeah, it makes you the problem is is. I think that the way they shot this, too, it over shift your That's the message. You're trying to get its completely It's like an elephant's foot hitting that Majin just standing and completely out like that's not what I'm seeing. I'm seeing 11 year old girls doing things that they shouldn't be doing that I shouldn't be watching them. Quick timeout. We'll switch it up here before we get Teo Tim Ward stands by And the pro truth pledges, and that's something we all need in life now, And that is especially after November when we get back to you know if we ever had it, but getting back to not being lied to all the time and have to my job, essentially turning the fact checking everything, because I want to know what the facts are. So I can make my own mind up on stuff and not have someone tell me what my mind should be. And Tim Ward is working towards that He joins me next on the show on 707 100 wlw. So in Louisville. Apparently.
Los Angeles: Boys accused of starting deadly fire can’t be tried as adults, California DA says. The town is outraged.
"What does society do with two thirteen year old boys who set fire to a public library and two firefighters died in the blaze this is a real story in California in people our live that they are outraged over this well yes out one the boys intentionally set the fire that ended up costing two firefighters there lies to the way that California law is these kids these thirteen year olds to me are not going to receive the justice that these firefighters deserve in the means that they will not be tried in adult court they will be tried in juvenile court but even then the longest that they'll be in detention is to the age of twenty five yes other so much outrage in fact the district attorney decided to make a video yesterday and release it to try to explain to the public why this case is being handled the way it is and and to lower their expectations for punishment of these two thirteen year olds here's the first sound bite from the two layer district attorney Tim ward explaining what's going on with these two thirteen year olds and any juvenile case and the state even if the most serious charges of murder are filed and found to be true thirteen year olds cannot be held in custody once they reach the age of twenty five no that is simply the law of California yeah no matter what happens they're out of twenty all you've got these individuals are sent in for one and now you've got I'm sure they're probably not charging him with murder probably manslaughter something like that but two lives that are lost because of this and if they're going to spend at most what is that ten years twelve years behind bars and then they'll be back on the street here's another cell by from the district attorney where he's talking about the limitations under the law in California when you're dealing with two thirteen year old suspects juveniles must be at least sixteen years of age to be eligible to be tried as adults for certain types of crimes the recent changes did not alter the fact that this office cannot legally prosecute thirteen year olds and adult court under any circumstances so they're being held right now the police charge them with arson manslaughter and conspiracy charges the DA has not yet filed charges but what ever he files they will not face trial in an adult court yeah I get the reasoning a little bit behind while you why you wouldn't charge them in adult court not these individuals why you wouldn't charge a thirteen year old or someone under the age of sixteen if it is at the small crime here you're talking about arson you're talking about the murder of the two individuals who risked their life day in and day out for the the the the safety of that community and that just doesn't seem right I know that they're trying to say at thirteen it you make dumb mistakes and national haunt you for the rest of your life but you took the lives of two individuals that are going to get that back the families that have to grow up without those men in their lives they don't get that back they don't get that second opportunity to me I get their hands are tied with the law here we do something for the parents they the parents then we'll have to should have to step in and I I don't know what that would be putting them behind bars isn't gonna do anything I don't think that they can half pay a fine big enough to cover the law right to individuals yeah one is was thirty five captain Ramon raised Figueroa the other was firefighter Patrick Jones only twenty five years old both died trying to put out the fire at the library here the numbers five one two eight three six zero five ninety what is the proper way to handle people of this age thirteen year olds involved in such a very very a gregis effort two people died fighting this blaze five one two eight three six zero five ninety our society just doesn't contemplate handling people who were this young to do something that ends up killing people we we just haven't thought about that right and I and I get to the thirteen year olds probably weren't thinking if we set this fire we may end up killing it some people we maybe into injuring or killing the individuals that come to have to put this out I get that they probably did not think that far out but that is what happened that is a result of their direct actions they're intentional actions to set a fire yeah and they were seen running from the blaze several witnesses saw these two thirteen year olds that tell they were caught so quickly and arrested and charged by
