"To be more lenient or understanding of the different styles. That different cultures have. Next is Scott Toby. Welcome Scott, Avondale Ellie. What's up buddy before he became well known as a pioneer and photo shopping graphic cards? You were a portrait photographer. Yeah. I was a back in the film days. So I was in the Coniston wagon crossing the country. Now, it was quite that long ago. But yeah back in the eighties. I was really into portrait photography and another photographer and I shared a studio and back then I was using hot lights, and I had a visitor flash. And a son pack flash and used to meet her everything I have a. Pantex camera. Minolta camera had different film cameras. In fact, I still have my Minolta s RT one a one which was like my first camera. I still have it. I gave it to a friend in about five years ago. He brought it back to me and said member when you gave me this. That's my first camera. So yes, I do. I do come from a film background. Yeah. That's great. But now, how did you actually learn where you formally trained or were you train by learning from others? I had informal training. Which was my brother was a dog refer, and he was the one that actually got me inspired to be or to get into dog Raphy. He's got quite good. I had all this equipment, and he he'd been shooting. And when I saw his first round first time, he showed me as eight by tens. I was like oh my gosh. I just couldn't believe it someone I knew was taking photos like that. And I was really interested. And he said, well, I'll teach the ropes and and he was really quite good. And so he kind of got me up and running. And then we spent the next. Shooting everything that moved. Both of us are more lenders are h I'm gonna talk a little bit about that. For a moment. Luck is laboring under correct knowledge L U C K. And I was always taught that if you got the luck is because you were taught by somebody who had the correct knowledge, you know, in my case, my brother John was the undefeated heavyweight champion up in New York and New Jersey and my instructor was triple crown Crotty champion. Well, I was fortunate that he introduced me to super foot Wallis so back in the early early eighties. I think eighty two hundred eighty three I've been training with him. Now after I became a triple crown champion what I decided to do to keep education going. I summon ours. I'd have super Wallace come in Jon Valera, Kevin Thomson, Jimmy and drill. These were all incredible martial arts champions. And I'd bring them down for them to teach my students. Workshops, and that's what paid for them to come in. But I really did it to learn from them. So this was just one way. And it's funny because I found that you kind of do the same thing. So you're doing the same thing with photography. You are at the position to you could bring in anyone you want to learn from who who's inspired you the most with your your learning. Well, when I was doing martial arts. I learned from super leg lemon. Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I don't I don't have. I mean, while I do learn a lot from the photographers that that come through our studios and stuff, and I and I watch our own classes all the time. So I'm always learning these stuff. In fact, I I learned my whole genre of automobile for talker, pre from watching Tim Wallace online classes with Kelly one. But I don't get the luxury of doing that as much because a lot of times they're on location..

"For the rest of your life. What would you what would you choose? So we'll find that out a little bit later on after we talk with Minnesota GOP chairwoman, Jennifer Carnahan this morning. Good morning. How we doing this morning? Jennifer Kernaghan nice to hear from you. Good morning during well aside from the ten degree temperatures. Is a little chilly outside cocoa coming out of one of my fingers. So, hey, congratulations to us. We have a surplus of one point five billion dollars. We're amazing. Isn't it? Great. Isn't that the best? We sweet we we took a lot of money from us. Yeah. Well, it's great showing that Republicans did a great job in managing things last session. But with that is you know, what's coming down the pipe with this. It's not going to be enough for our new governor, leptin walls and the new democratic state house. So you don't taxes taxes taxes coming our way with a one point five billion dollar surplus. Right. I mean, that's a staggering number that the government has taken in more than more than it needs. Right. Tim Wallace has already come out and said that you know, we need to be we need to be careful here. You know, we can't start talking about cutting taxes. We can't start talking about giving some of this money back to Minnesota families and Minnesota businesses because you know, we don't know what the future holds I constantly every time. We get one of these reports that shows these massive surpluses, I am I'm always a little taken aback by. How celebrate Tori. Everybody is. I mean that is one point five billion dollars. That was taken out of the household. Budgets of Minnesota. Families of Minnesota workers was taken out of the budgets of Minnesota businesses. Why isn't the sort of knee jerk reaction to well? Let's figure out a way to to take less money from these families and businesses. So we don't need to run. These giant surpluses going forward. Real problem, isn't it? I mean, if you look at a private sector company. Five hundred company for example, had major prophets. What did they do profit sharing? They share it with their their stockholders stakeholder freight, but for Tim walls, or that administration to say, oh, we have to be careful. What does that mean that you're not going to run government? Well. We have to be careful because that's going to be gone. That that doesn't really seem to make any sense to me at all. And to say, you know, oh, you know, we have this one point five billion surplus that doesn't mean we give the money back to the people because we know the Democrats will not do that. But how about agreeing to not raise taxes? I mean, this tax hike that they're talking about. They don't make it sound like a big deal. But it is a big deal. And I used to live out in California. I have a ton of friends out there. And they all told me when the gas tax increase came through. I think it was last year the year prior the day before it came through people were in Lyons miles long at the gas station, you know, with extra not only their cars with extra gas hand tried to stock up. So you know, that that's discouraging, and we continue to see it everywhere. Raising cash is not the answer. Now, am I am probably being incredibly naive and saying this, but it would seem to me that regardless of what party you belong to the what you just laid out would be universally accepted. We have one point five billion dollars in the state a budget surplus a surplus, so we're not going to go and raise the taxes on gas. And it seemed to me that regardless of of who you're aligned with that you'd be like. Yeah. That makes that makes all the sense in the world to me, am I I I'm obviously missing something something here, right? People are aligned on it, you know. But this is what it comes down to when people were voting. I don't know if they were medicine you ignore nut talking point or whatnot. But you know, people voted for Tim walls. And now that's what we're stuck with. So that correlation between who you vote for and what happens in our state. It has a direct impact on individuals and their families. And I think people need to start taking a closer look at policies. And in what these candidates elected officials are saying because they are held accountable to the people. But once they get elected, you know, it comes down to majorities in the legislature, and how they choose to pass legislation and at that point it's out of our hands. Right, jennifer. So with any one of these articles that are reporting this story, you're seeing rhetoric come from the DFL in state that they were left with a six billion dollar budget deficit when Mark Dayton took over and now does one point five billion dollar. Surplus? I'm curious from Mike a messaging standpoint, how do we combat that? Because those are objective numbers that put us in a worse position ten years ago seemingly than than right now. How do we how do we talk to that point? Yeah. I think it's about getting out there in front of in front of the story and expressing the narrative in a way that connects with people on the front end of it versus the back end. And so I know the legislature in the leaders over there are working on that. Now, we're working closely with them you make sure that we're all aligned on how we position things moving forward. And I know that the fast-moving work in progress because all of this happened yesterday. So we're expecting to have some more robust conversation about that today. And you know, I think we'll start seeing a lot this weekend an early next week around that about how we position against it. How we held the story because if you just look out a hard number the heart number, you know, we always said this in corporate America you can lie with. Right. It's how you choose the position that. Yes. It comes down to forgive me. This has been covered already. But we have we heard incoming governor Tim walls is response to this surplus as it relates to the gas tax conversation yet. I don't know that I've specifically fin anything yet. But I haven't had a chance for everything. So what you're saying is that the chance. He is he is married to the idea of higher gas taxes. I mean that was one of his that was one of his campaign platform. So he ran on increasing gas taxes. So there's I don't see why any sort of economic budget news like this would would would derail him from from that agenda. It definitely won't. Ran on it. He's been pushing it from day one. So he's not gonna you're. No, no, absolutely. Not Jennifer Carnahan, chairwoman of the Minnesota GOP. Really? Appreciate you. Joining us. Good to catch up with you know, we're hoping to talk to you again soon. Sounds good. They were right. Take care. Are we do some other stories being to get you? But first, let's get to the burning question of the morning. I don't know why. I'm so fascinated by it was interesting, the very, John Justice sequestered. And I say that in the best way possible before we do that. Can we talk about what we watch during the break. Sorry, just addressed. Yeah. The avengers four trailer dropped EPA looks pretty amazing looks good. Yeah. It's a really well put together like the parts of the trailer that aren't even the footage like, you know, the the logo stuff, so it's very well. Nations' to the way the last avengers movies ended Sam they ripped off Taylor swift. The kind of Ted the name of the movie and the game. It's called game. Yeah. I don't know is that it is album documentaries song. Makeup line. I know what? I'm listening to see my drive home. I listen to Taylor swift dreaming about the. It's a song as you did with Ed Sheeran and future. Yes. It is. And Taylor swift on the same song tastic that's got to be a black hole. Nothing. That's the guts cracker on cracker crime. That is just. White. The trailer looks really good. I mentioned during the break that for every new scene and shot you can just hear the teaching of dollar amounts. With that. I mean, it's gonna it's gonna make all the all the money's gorgeous trailer and really gets the hype train going. I was pretty was pretty high. But at the end of it and the Hawkeye shot to like see we told you coming back. Yeah. Yeah. Excited to see Hawkeye, the the very final scene of the trailer was very cool the three little laugh in at the end. So during the next break go check out the vendors four trailer. Yeah. It's kind of unprecedented too. Because we got the cats and marvel trailer earlier this week, which looked great spacing this has superseded now. And then tomorrow, we're getting via the Spiderman far from home trailer. Yeah. Yeah. So it's it's kind of unprecedented to get that many all sort of connected together, the president should declare today. Oh, we had the national day morning. We couldn't watch the trailers on that day. They were supposed to release it on Wednesday. Tactful? I guess but. Yeah, you, and I we like polar opposites on politics, man. But brothers. Would it? We were not on the same. The marketing perspective is like you want to be able to be like excited and celebrate or you want people talking a fun way. But you don't want that tweet in the middle of a somber Lee, recalled the distinguished service of the volunteer. It's going to be a distant message if you stack them against each other. Well, edited retrospect, the president should declare a national day of marvel. Yeah. I'm with you on that. Yeah. I'm down. But given the by the way, just to kind of reinforce the white. I was right in right? Miller me. That. Given the nature of the trailer itself. Yeah. It's a good thing. They didn't have it on Wednesday. That's not a bad point. Because it's yeah. It's called endgame. It is kind of somber a very somber sort of intense trailer get up in America through up on the Japanese guy. All right. So let's get to it.
