"Hi, Tommy. Right? Three. Gunmen are on the run. At this point in time, West Bloomfield Police now have blocked off the on ly entrance into the subdivision where there was an early morning shooting here on Janet Street. 3 26 in the morning That's in the area of Hiller, north of Greer, West Bloomfield, and what we know so far. Is that Ah, three suspects broke into the home shots were fired. A resident inside was hit multiple times. A resident then calls 911 that person in the home taken to the hospital. The condition unknown West Booneville police say they are now looking for three male suspects who fled on foot. They should be in this area. That's what the police believe. They are dangerous. No question about that. Two of them may be wearing what is this? The only description we have right now there is a perimeter set up. Canine unit is out here and they are looking for these police and again. This is an active scene here in West Bloomfield Reporting live here in West Bloomfield. Charlie Langham, W. J News radio 9 50. It was a story that shocked and sickened people across Michigan yesterday. The plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Some of the 13 people charged with the plot could appear in court as early as today. Let's bring in W. W. J. Lansing Bureau chief Tim Scoob IQ. He's at the capital with the very latest on the investigation. Tim before you get to that, I was intrigued by your report. You actually sat down and talked with the governor. What was her demeanor? I mean, how shook up Was she over this? She wasn't. Um, I've covered this this of Miss Widmer for about 15 years and I don't want to make light of this, but it was almost like nothing had happened. I think that may be a bit of a stretch, but that she was herself. Um, my first question was, you know, how are you in the family doing and she said, we're fine. We're safe, and she was very obviously complimentary about the state police security detail that is securely around her even more so these days. And of course, she congratulated the law enforcement community for working so well together, she said. It was a heck of an operation which has been teach Wittmer. Um so she was. She was herself looking Nobody wants to go through something like this. And as she said in her public statements, you know, when I took the oath of office, put my hand on the Bible. There was no way that I could have anticipated this, But here she is, and she's going forward. She's staying focused. I did ask her, Roberta, Have you turned the page on this? And her answer, I thought was a little bit revealing that she basically, said Tim. I can't answer that. There's going to be continuing discussions about security and she said, But I'm running focused on doing my job, which is keeping the state of Michigan safe. Did she say anything to him about her kids? I mean, I don't want to belabor this point, but I was thinking about her kids and thinking, you know, what were they saying to her about about all of this? Well, she mentioned she mentioned her Children in her public statements. But to be honest with you, I did not bring it up. Ah, And that was ah, value judgment on my part. So the answer to your question is I did not delve into the personal conversations that the three of them have had. Okay, So what happens next? What's going on now? Well, first of all this town is trying to recover from what happened yesterday. This is unprecedented. I I was thinking this morning when I woke up at three o'clock. That all governors have have faced this kind of situation. Former Governor George Romney. Nobody will remember this. They throw stones and rocks at him and Attorney General Frank Kelly when they were trying to pass an open meeting law. They hang the hung Ah, former Governor William Millikan in effigy over the PBB contamination problem that affected the entire state. But nowhere in recent state history of we had anything like this. And so I think everybody is just kind of digesting it. There will be plenty of discussion now about banning weapons in the capital, and that is in the works. There's discussion on underway, but people are also absorbing the extent of this plot. This is not something that some people allegedly got together at a local barn plotted over a couple of beers This investigation had been going on since the beginning of the year. And the FBI and the state police had informants inside the circle of this group of 13 alleged co co co conspirators and have tape recordings of some of the conversations, so I think people are going to look into that and get more details. One of the things that came out is that they were talking about. Abducting the governor to Wisconsin and holding a trial there. Because obviously they were not happy with her conduct musically closing down everything in the state, she says, to save lives, And here were people talking about maybe taking hers. You said that the investigation has been going on since the beginning of the year. But yesterday the governor had tied what happened to her. To what the president had said last week in terms of what she described as his message to white supremacists, But if this has been going on since the beginning of the year, how could Adam Impossible? Well, that is a good question. The governor has said all along, not only in terms of Mr Trump, but other people who have engaged in this dialogue that your words matter. And I think the point that the governor was making is that she saw a juxtaposition of the comments last week by the president on white supremacy. By the way, the White House has said that he has rebuked those people repeatedly. But the governor didn't make that point in her public statements yesterday, and she said, you know, people have to be responsible for their words. And if you're going to frat nice with these people, the militia type people and basically incite them was her words, not mine. You have. You are basically complicity in stuff that happened to me this past 24 hours. Interesting, right. Tim's good luck. Thank you. Inside. Appreciate is always great talking to you guys. Have a good morning to you, Tim Tim, Skip from Lansing. W News time is now. Well, 6 10. It is so over time, overdo it now for traffic and weather together. But luckily he's worth waiting for right.
