"To the great impatient at ten, my favorite of all Katie GW's tell us where you are and what your question. Hey Raj, my name is Karen. I'm from big fan of Seattle actually, but I'm living in Portland right now. I honestly, after that game kind of disappointed, just looking forward to the future games. What games are you most looking forward to in the future? Coming up soon. Are you talking about for the U.S. men? Or are you just talking about games of football? Honestly, games is football in general. I'm really looking forward to as a neutral watching van city and arsenal, for instance. Oh, my lord, God, as a mutual. It's a human being that lives and breathes. Ultimately, let's be candid. The future of democracy depends on the outcome of that game. Those are the stakes. I mean, that is just we are one week away and godspeed. That game is felt like it's been on the horizon for ages and now it's speeding towards us. Look, this weekend, FA Cup semifinal weekend, but we kick off 7 30 with that Fulham lead Saturday morning clash. It's such a joy to take for granted almost that there will be four American players almost certainly on that field. Today when a tape with the gents, I did ask them, you know, when they're on the field, are they aware as they're like, you know, I said, Brenda, when you're closing down an opponent and you realize it's Anthony Robinson, and you're like, hey, man, it's fucking excuse me. It's Jedi. I was drunk, rod. It's Jedi. And he's like, yeah, you're fully aware. You're fully aware. And I won't ruin it, but Tim reem tells a beautiful story of how he in the FA Cup game went for a 50 50 ball. And as he was diving in, realized it was western McKinney, on the other end of the tackle and that he was just like, oh my God, I'm going to get destroyed in this movement. And western tells his side of the story. Where he realizes he's about to go in. He didn't say this, but probably no western studs first on our great Tim reem. And he said, I realized who it was and I pulled a little bit out with all I'm going to tell you. He took a lead dialed it down, did western probably took it down to about annoying from an 11. Fulham leads I can not wait Everton traveling to Crystal Palace at 10 o'clock, where Dominic Calvert Lewin, I don't know if new fans will not know who that is. But they come and live in God bless on his Instagram today posted Saturday. Can't wait. It's unclear to me what he can't wait for. Maybe that there's some show on British television that he's excited for. Maybe he's excited for succession. Episode whatever we're on, who knows what he meant, but there's a chance there's a chance ever to me, as you take the field with a striker, which is which is genuinely amazing. By the way, DOM is definitely hashtag team once again. Don't even bother with that. And so then you've got the FA Cup semifinals. But the other game, I'm incredibly excited for the weekend as angel city against San Diego wave Sunday, 8 p.m. Eastern Time, just two teams. And when you think about when you think about this quite bold move by the United States with Mexico to make a claim for the 2027 World Cup, it makes no sense to try and bid for World Cup when you've just had the men's right before it. There is no right to that apart from FIFA. They don't know what's right. They know what's financially savvy. And I think the two teams, I mean, Portland just reset the concept of what women's football culture can be like week in week out. And then to have angel city come into the league, just deliriously, there's a wonderful and San Diego wave, essentially match them. To have those teams play against each other is a thing of wonder. It's a thing of double wonder in this World Cup year with so much talent across the field, Alex Morgan, along the cook God, alarm that caught what a football or what a mind to watch her play football is genuinely a joy, 8 p.m. to watch those team incredible, incredible way to prepare Lake Dominic Calvert Lewin for the new episode of Succession. So that's one thing for me U.S. perspective. Look at this was just, I'd say this was business. Contractual business, the nation's league. I mean, I think the nation's league is going to build into something. I do think that Nations League is going to build into something. You know, our boys need to play with the best players they can against the best players they can. And those games in the summer with the elite pool. I mean, that's a funny trick of this game tonight. To answer your questions to singly at KT, JW ten. I'm excited for our best players to take the field again. And I guess that is the nation's bring it on. We will talk more about it in there at the time. Godspeed. Come on up. You beautiful human being at Jay cookie. You do it. Remind this way you're from and what you question. Good evening Raj, coming from Chicago, Illinois, a lonely couch, just having a glass of bourbon. We're all on a lonely couch. That is what tonight is. Tonight is, by the way, we once had my Myers on the shape, the Austin Powers gen, huge Liverpool fan. He was talking about how street talking Canada are that when they have a kid's hospital in America, you call it semi optimistic. Like, you can look like mercy hospital is in Canada. The biggest kids hospital in Toronto is called sick kids and in the same way said the beer of choice. The advent, he had the pictures of these commercials in Canada back in the day. The biggest advertiser during hockey games, Lee no hockey games was called lonely night a lonely guy beer. And there was like a printed these pictures of these commercials, which was like a crappy TV and like a Canadian lumberjack looking guy just sitting there lonely on his own no family evident whatsoever. A guy that lived in a single person's apartment just terribly decorated just embracing I think beer four of his lonely guy 6 pack. And that's what we all felt like tonight in a way. We were all drinking levelly guy for you, Jake. For you, Jake, it was bourbon, but I love that idea of being a U.S. fan on the lonely couch tonight. We all were, but Jay you beautiful human being, what is your question? Well, I think you just described every Everton fan on Saturday and Sunday mornings here in America. It's sponsor Everton in the championship next season. Is that what you're saying? Oh man, I hope it's not the truth, but it does lead into my question if you think this version of this U.S.

"Fans. All right, okay. What do you say in U.S. soccer got them tickets? I think it's highly unlikely. Would that be a recruiting violation? Listen, the official visit is on. All right? This is what you do when you go visit colleges, right? So this is what you did, right? The recruiting visit. You get to know. Listen, just for a second. You're trying to tell me he had his sights set on the England full team. That didn't happen. He gets called into the U 21 team Marcus Rashford gets injured. And nobody gets called up, and then it is a cryptic message. By balling. On his Instagram stories, where he talks about going where he's appreciated. He wants to feel the love, and then he decides to fly. Ten hours, more than 7000 miles across the Atlantic to Orlando where the U.S. bus national team is based and actually stays at the same resort that the U.S. master's team is staying in. Because he wants to feel the sun on his international break, are there no places around the world besides Orlando, one could go to. You hate on Orlando. Don't hate on Orlando, lots to do. Disney, lots of doing Orlando, but this man was your love. And the last straw may have been rashford out, nobody in. And now he's over here and the coach of the U 21s in England has no idea what he's doing here and doesn't know if anybody's going on. It looks really uncomfortable when he's talking about it. Read between the lines. Yeah. There is talk, absolutely. Anthony Hudson has told you, Christian police is a consult you that he's not spoken to, but he knows a lot of people on that U.S. miss nationally who has spoken to him. This is getting close. It's an international official visit. It's like a recruitment. They're getting to know each other and the process that comes with it. He didn't have to mysteriously have a knock and pull out of that tournament or to pull out of that national team U 21s with England. He's here now. That shows you that he's interested. Whatever happens, if you're asking right now, who has the upper hand? Yeah. It's the United States. I want a commitment, hark. I want to commit me here. Let me ask you this. How much do you think? How much do you think the absence of a manager right now is impacting this decision, right? Because it seems like there's a lot of momentum around him wanting to potentially join this program. If you were in his shoes, if you were a player and you were looking at your different options, with the fact that one team doesn't have a manager and maybe even buying that a sporting director, I don't know if he really cares about that. Would that be a reason to pause? And if so, that would worry me a little bit if I were U.S. fan because it lets other teams potentially get their act together and get back in the mix. I said the same thing with Zendaya. That would be a reason for me to pause. So that citizen this moment, right? Wait a second. Once he doesn't have a sporting director, nor coach, you know? I want to see what happens here. That's not the case anymore because he's been talking to Greg berhalter and Anthony Hudson was with him with Greg berhalter and now Anthony Hudson is in communication and there seems to be a lot of communication with the U.S. national team players. I think he's gone past of this of like, well, the next coach could impact this decision. Right. I think he's already passed that. I think he's thinking, all right, where do we go from here? Yeah. He left one team's camp, didn't want to be in one team's camp just to be around the other teams camp, right? I think that tells you something. Also, we gave credit to some of the Internet sleuths. Let's just generally give credit to U.S. M and T fandom online hurt. We know it's been called toxic in the past. If you see ball against Instagram right now, it is blown up with U.S. fans. If he ends up choosing U.S. and remember the I want to feel appreciated, the U.S. fans on social media definitely played a role. They're letting him know he would be beloved here. Don't let anybody tell you how to enjoy your football. There is no gate keeping when it comes to this. You enjoyed however you see fit. Responsibly. Okay. Enjoy responsibly. Great, great advice from one Hercules Gomez. All right, lots of people are talking about Greg berhalter herc. And lots of people have very nice things to say about the man who managed the U.S. men's national team at the last World Cup. Added to that list. Today, Tim ream and Matt Turner, let's listen in. I think bringing him back is a familiarity. Togetherness that he brought to the team after it was very, very much kind of sporadic and fractured. When he first came in and it was a big transition with a lot of new guys coming into the program, I think he did a fantastic job in that aspect. And he put and laid very, very good foundations for the team. Whether he comes back or not is for us as players, I've said this previously, it's not something that we really worry about or are concerned about because it's not, it's not our job to hire for that position. So listen, if they bring him back, obviously we'll continue to work on him. If they don't, we'll continue to work under somebody else. And that's just, that's the nature of what we do as players, that's the nature of the sport. There's sometimes there's continuity and sometimes there's change roll with whatever happens. Obviously, it is unfortunate and I think everything that he built from the outside, it's not as clear the connection that he created amongst the group. The selections, the like mindedness of people, and it became like this culture that sort of policed itself in a lot of ways. Which I think it can be pretty rare when it comes to national teams getting together. So we're grateful for all the work that he put in and did and I think we really did thrive in the end of it all underneath it underneath his during his tenure. And yeah, we'll see what the future holds. Okay, Eric, there we have it, more players publicly backing Greg burh hall who is still a candidate. For the U.S. job, something nothing or everything. Yeah, it's something, absolutely. It can't be nothing when pillars of the U.S. miss Nash didn't come out and talk, right? Each and every single one of the players that we've heard, Christian Pulisic, Matt Turner, Tim reem, has spoken positively about the return of Greg berhalter. There's a reason for that. Now, each one feels a debt to Greg borough, a Christian politic has found a coach who trusts him who believes in him. Whose patient with them was given leadership responsibility, something and he's not had in his club career. For a lot of that, Tim ream in Greg berhalter probably saw a piece of him a piece of who he was as a player and Tim ream and gave him the opportunity as a player in his mid 30s to play in a World Cup which Tim ream took full advantage of and earned very well. He gave him that responsibility he gave him plenty of opportunities and then you look at Matt Turner. It was Greg berhalter who literally left Zack Stefan at home. Not even on the bench. Left him at home so Matt Turner can feel like the clear cut number one at the World Cup. Each one feels a sense of debt to Greg berhalter and I understand what it's like. They're good people. They're good pros. I will never say anything bad about Jurgen Klinsmann. You're in Clinton showed me a confidence when I was playing for him. I started like 13 straight games and like that with Jurgen Klinsmann. It's very difficult for me to say anything negative about Jurgen Klinsmann because of how he treated me because of how I was in his system. This is the same type of thing. These are good professionals. They're never going to go out and just bash Greg burr holes. But team ring says it himself. It's not up to them to decide. And wherever they go, they're going to be good pros.

"A lot of us had a Tim ream, was the nation's League final in Denver versus the Mexican national team, where Diego liners comes on as a super sub. Diego Linus who I will remind you since he went to Europe has zero league goals in La Liga. Zero league goals in Portugal, he abused Tim reem in that moment scores a goal and that was the last moment of turning and he's gone. Maybe that shouldn't have been the case because just let me give you an example of what quality veteran leadership is. And mana kuppa and Tim ream. I was wrong. He was one of the better players, if not the best player in the U.S. missed out in his back line easily in that World Cup in 2022. He continues to this day to be a very important element of the U.S. miss national team, but let me give you this example of good veteran leadership. This is what Tim ream actually two days ago had to say about Giovanni Reina being back in camp for this critical concatenations league window. For us as a leadership and all the guys in camp is to see that he's working hard, training hard that he's wanting to be here up to this point, you know, it's been nothing but positive, having conversations with different guys. You know, everybody's knows what he can bring to the table. Everybody knows how talented he is. And to see him come in here with that attitude and the work rate and the desire to be a part of the group and just get back on level terms with everyone without having to overly address it has been a big positive for all the guys to see. He's speaking about Giovanni Reina. This is a veteran player who was on the outside looking in until the World Cup until the final moments of that tournament. Who now you can see how valuable that veteran presence is, keeping those guys grounded more this and maybe we don't see the circus fiasco we saw in the World Cup outside of the field. So let's fast forward today. Present time. There's two games for Anthony Hudson and this cock caffe Nations League window, very important games. By no means will they be easy. Friday 24th and Monday 27th, Granada, and El Salvador, here's a problem that may arise for Anthony Hudson. Right now, the players, they see him as the interim. Actually, the majority see him as the assistant coach, because that's what he was to those players. He was the assistant coach at the World Cup. To see this person as more than just an assistant coach, will be difficult for Anthony Hudson. So he needs to get it right. He needs to make those players respect them and immediately. This is a group where these players have been coached, this pool has been coached by some of the best coaches around the world. José Mourinho, you have Pep Guardiola. You have in the likes of Julia nagelsmann. Some of the brightest minds in the game. Anthony Hudson needs to command that respect because if he doesn't and they don't get results, things are going to go south very quickly. Listen, accidents can't happen. El Salvador can play very well and they can get a result versus the U.S. men's national Granada. They can do the same thing sure. These things can happen in football. But I'm paper. I mean, come on, guys. You can not compare V two teams, roster wise on paper, where they play the level where they've been the programs, what they should do. Is it a big arrogant to think you should win both games? Sure, is it expected? Absolutely. That's where this program is. It's level on paper at least. The greatest collection of American players. The golden generation for the U.S. national team. Who have been putting his body on the line not once, but twice. Was the substitute deflected and the back of the net. That was St. Louis city's third goal scored by Thomas Austria. For

"In goes the corner, cleared only as far as Nelson has to get a shot right. The warriors and. This extraordinary season for the goddess. They've come up with another extraordinary moments. Another extraordinary moment, you know, if chaos is a ladder, then the Premier League is just pure wrongs, steps, side rails, and the only single morsel of consistency given the world that delusion at least ever a sense of order. It was Everton reliably conjuring away to crap the bed. That and Bruno Fernandes feeling gravity more than normal human beings bring it on. And I say that after a fairly insane week at men in blazers, one of which we spent time with Pep Guardiola. Yeah, we talked about Tim reem. A lot. Pep said and I'm paraphrasing something like this about him. That'll come out early next week, morning. Actually got up early and chatted with Marcus Rashford and amongst other things. He told me Tim Howard was his childhood hero. Crap, you not. Also spent time with the mighty Sam Lewis and a pretty bloody inspirational Chris Richards. We're up in Boston. For a magical night, I think it was last night or maybe the one it felt like it was about 5 weeks ago to be candid now in that rollicking town. I love Boston. That turn of Affleck and Ralph Waldo Emerson had so many, many, many muses amidst all of that. For many places, the true wonder of the week was the launch of vamos a new podcast we've created with Hercules Gomez, more on that to come, but I do say, I am so bloody proud of this partnership personally and professionally because I adore her. Delighted to bring his voice and his audience to the MIB network more on that to come. But simply put my goal for the 2023 24 year ahead is just to do good things with great people. And in that regard, a couple more announcements in the month to camp. But last note from me before we dive into the weekend's action. Oh, there's some magical JJ what podcast dropping tomorrow? Chelsea fans in particular. Must listen. Let's stop with a toast. I want to raise my third first bud of the day to news that the United Kingdom government is providing roughly $710 million over the next two years to create the last equal school opportunities for girls to play sports. That, in a week in which we've seen the Canadian, the French, the Spanish players continue to have the battle their own federations in the fight for equality is wonderful. Here's some bloody good news. And from England, remember the story broke during the English woman's battle to win the Euros last summer that only 46% of English schools provide the same sporting extracurricular opportunities to girls as boys that will now change. To more news like that in the fight for the growth of the game we love. Sting me up, producer Sophie. Don't believe she's never been alone. That was
