"With what he's done this season. 100% he has. I mean, there was just there really wasn't the opportunity to bring him in. At the time, because like we said, it was in the midst of qualifying. And there was plenty of calls from to come in for the last few games, but it didn't happen. I know the door is firmly open. Staying in Scotland, James sands. Didn't really play as regularly for rangers. The thing he offers if you include him in the squad is the versatility of also going into defensive midfield. Right. But he needs game time. That lawn move really didn't work out. Mark McKenzie, who it felt like in the beginning of qualifying was a player that they were going to give a chance to, and then when those chances came, it didn't really seem like he grasped that opportunity and subsequently felt like it feels to me like he's been passed by others. Now JJ, we get to two names that are really interesting. The first one, you're going to roll your eyes, but I'm going to keep I'm going to throw it in there. Tim ream, old faithful, started every single game for fully rolling my eyes. I don't know. That's just bear halt or loves him. He's going to be back in the Premier League. Started every game this year. He's just reliable. And you just wonder, we've talked so much for whatever we think of this U.S. team. One of the things that we worry about is the inexperience. He's 34. He brings veteran a veteran presence and leadership to that room, which at a World Cup is something that they might value. So that's one to keep an eye on. And then finally, the John Brooks conundrum. He's 29, he's going to leave Wolfsburg after what was a rough year. I have zero, zero idea how this plays out. What they think of him, I respect the things that I've heard coming from Brooks that he's kind of instead of having a defeatist attitude about how this has gone. He's almost taken it as a challenge. He clearly wants to be a part of this team. But I don't know. It doesn't feel like bear halter values him. That could be based on his form from this season and bear halter just feeling the urgency of not being able to kind of have a guy find his form on their watch. It was too important for that. Do that on Wolfsburg's watch. I don't know. I don't know. But his name is going to be the one that is probably debated more than any other name over the next several months. I think so, and we're going to really find out what the manager actually thinks of him. Because he's got to he's either got to stick our twist. Is he going to bring him back in? Is he going to leave him in exile? We'll see. Leave him in exile. We'll see where he goes too. But it's just a shame because it felt and look, I had said at one of our last podcasts at the end of the qualification for the U.S. that for however much I was enjoying the Zimmerman Robinson partnership. There were going to be questions for two MLS defenders who their experience has been MLS and cocktail. And then getting thrown into a World Cup is going to be a big leap for them. So there were questions to be asked, but I felt like we had become pretty comfortable with that pairing. That it felt like, okay, it wasn't a question on the team sheet. We kind of knew going into each game what it was, and those two guys were going to have a lot of experience playing alongside each other before that World Cup rolled around. And that unfortunately has been wiped away with just another, just a tough, just a tough blow, man. Just it's unfortunate and perhaps more unfortunately, my prediction is not necessarily torn Achilles, but I don't believe that this will be the last injury that in some way affects the team that Greg bear halt is going to bring to this time. All right, okay, I want to bring this segment to an end just based on the sheer depression. There will be prepared for the worst. All right? There will be more injuries. People know that. Let's just, let's just hope they're minor and not as catastrophic as this one. Okay, they're Nostradamus. Well, all the best to miles Robinson, you know, World Cup or not, get better, man, because we love watching you play. He's seems like a good dude. Syracuse guy, as well as I've mentioned many times before. And we hope you get well soon. He looked like he was in good spirits after his surgery. I know this is a tough blow for him, but he's still young enough and he's got many, many games and many years ahead in his soccer life. So all the best man. Let's go ahead, JJ. We'll take one more break. We'll finish up on the other side with a couple other smaller news and notes and then we'll get out of here for the day and get you ready for a big FA Cup final. All right, how does that sound? That sounds perfect. All right, don't go anywhere. Oh, back again. One.

"Care if it's on both sides. I don't care if it's on one side. Put that aside. All that BS and it's John Brooks right now. You need to facilitate something for John Brooks to come back into the organization into this program and you get fast track them because he could be your starter or he could be a very important cog or a very important piece come World Cup time. You no longer have the luxury of just saying talented players are out the window. Couple quick questions here for you, herc. Who is in the driver's seat to pair with Zimmerman from the list that I'm looking at? Is it Chris Richards? Yes, this is Chris Richards. It's Chris Richards and you can slice up Mark McKenzie and Aaron long there four and 5 however you want Kramer Carter Vickers in. You can put Eric Palmer Brown. You can put in a map miyazu, whatever you want, I don't care. Okay? It's one, two, three right now that I am worried about. All that other stuff is subjective and people love to break them down and love to do the power rankings of whatever. I don't care. Concentrate on one, two, three, because those are gonna be the ones who are gonna be your main cogs or most important players come World Cup time. You already have a situation where you don't know who you're 9 is. Or they have a situation where you don't probably know who your goalkeeper is. Now it's the center back tandem. U.S. mustache fans can't catch a break. Another quick question here, because the reality is that John Brooks, whether you want him in or not, may not be under consideration. It might not be in this list. So if you had to take Brooks out and I'll give you some I'll give you some options here for who you can replace them with other guys that have been in or around the pool. Who's getting that 5th and last spot in your top 5. You got names like Eric Palmer Brown. You got Cameron Carter Vickers, who I think you mentioned. Somebody like Tim ream, who like it or not, will be a Premier League player next year. He just got re upped at Fulham. Probably a Cameron Carter Vickers or Matt miazga would be my two guys, but why are you trying to take John Brooks outside? Why don't you like about John Brooks Seb? No, it's nothing that I don't like about John Brooks. I'm just looking at the reality of what the national team manager has not just done. Let's look at the reality of those things. With his call ups, but what he said, he just told us a week ago. Dropping like flies. That is the reality. The only context we need here. He just told us a week ago, he would rather take a look at Cameron Carter Vickers than John Brooks. Look, we will leave the center back discussion for now. Let's talk about the surface herc on which miles on which miles Robinson was injured on Saturday. That artificial turf at Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta. And as I mentioned, it's not the first time that we've seen it, either on turf in MLS, this past week we saw it in Seattle with Joe Paolo or specifically in Atlanta. We saw it not in Achilles, but a knee injury with Brad guzan earlier this year. It was Achilles. Okay, how big of a problem hurt? How big of a problem is turf for Major League Soccer? It's a, it's a huge problem because perception is something that Major League.

"Transfer window that saw a lot of interest from abroad FA Cup on ESPN+ this weekend, Manchester City, beating. Oh, come on. On Saturday. Should Tim ream have gotten an own goal here? No, when production said this, I was like, okay, I checked it out. There's no way you should get an ongo for this. I mean, it's not on target when it's shot, is it? Oh, come on. It's going towards gold Tim rind trying to make a play on it. Come on. That is harsh. Very harsh. Production here. That is hard. They didn't credit it with an angle to be fair. They gave the goal to mares. Yeah, you should get it. By the way, that's his right foot. And you can tell. Easy. Easy. I mean, he's still scorned. No complaints there. As a city advanced in the FA Cup, by the way, it's a match with Zach Stephan herk started. Curiously, after he missed the last international window with what we were told as a back injury. Okay, don't read too much into it. Don't get on a transatlantic flight with back spasms and unexpected be fine. This also, it's a sitter for the player right there, not much he can do, leaning one way, that's what you're supposed to do. It happens. But Zack Stefan, starting again, I like it. There you go. And how about in the Bundesliga George Bello making his boon to sing a debut with Armenia Bella field? He played 19 minutes in a one one draw against Joe scalias. Munching glad back. Joe scallion. Sorry. He's on the bench. He was on the benches. A few things. George Bello literally got off the flight and went to this game or what? Like what's going on here? You talk about an acclimation period not. I'm ready to go. This is what you want to see 19 minutes weren't the best at times. Got his feet wet, got it going. Let's go to Syria, Johan Vasquez. Starting and playing the full 90s as Genoa kept a clean sheet even though they were man down for the last 25 minutes of the game. Against Roma match that finish in a score..

"I think we had a bunch of people. Just opened up to comments section with a protect greg. Walter we dare you right now. Which is ridiculous in. Its own right. But you're missing. You came into the camp missing arena christian pulisic jonathan brooks in tim ream. Then you lose western mckinney and you lose anthony robinson for this game as kaelin mentioned. You're not gonna play dust as well. You are fairly far down. The line for greg altered even. Have that many decisions to make as you go through this. That's my personal opinion. But i wanna ask you joy. How big of a hit is this two world qualified. It's big but it's it's along the. Us ends the night in second place. Think still right. And then the they've played three of the five games on the road so if they win on on wednesday they will be no worse than second place after six games in the the ocho. It's big right. Learned that the have learned that lesson multiple times now throughout qualifying. it's nothing has given They have to go out there and earn it But like you know. It wasn't a great night for gregg berhalter. That said i put this one much more on the players like calinikos to have to play better than he did. Actually add to play better than he did tim. Away both fullbacks mark mckenzie. Just completely lost out there. When i can. I close out on this one because we're going to move to canada. In the second kaelin jesse's artists as i crawl through the twitter mentioned in the in the negativity that exists out there. He gets the start. Does he get a chance to get more starts in your mind. How much of this do you put his feet He will definitely get more starts and until somebody else comes up to claim i guess anything close to the number two position right now. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. And that's not to say that. He had a good performance. In fact i don't think he had a great performance tonight. But i think right now when we look at the depth chart. You're saying okay. Well who's coming in besides peppy right now and right peppy had had to rest or they decided to arrest him and came in The only thing i'll say is that we did not the other disappointing part to me was that we didn't create anything late on in the game and part of it was there were multiple. Ball's coming onto the pitch players down. There was the head of usually we got our strongest phase when the us is traditionally been the best. but we just didn't create any opportunities and even when you remember this sort of historic performances that candidate against panama. That have managed us to keep that perfect record Where this our first loss ever. Where you either with the sense suzy goal or i think dempsey had one before laid on where it's it's just takes a little bit of that extra energy or fight and that was part of the piece that i think we began with that also. We finished with two. That just wasn't there tonight At the very end of the match Not even been able to create an opportunity to give ourselves a chance later on was disappointing. And if you want to be critical substitution I will say matthew hoppy was maybe a name a roll of the dice..

"Be in the starting eleven tomorrow against jamaica. Casey your reaction. It doesn't surprise me. i think. Really echo the two-match suspension. Last time i but but. I think it's a situation where you you have to go back with a player you accept that mistakes are going to be made the the conversation between the two of them. I'm i'm sure iron some things out and then you come back and you have an opportunity as well because you have pugh sick injured. You have rain injured and you have a squad. You can't go by players for your national team. You have the players you have west in obviously the club the size of venice. He's a key component to this team going forward and to get him back into the mix quickly and to put things right from went wrong. I think it's a huge opportunity. You agree with the decision to put him in the starting lineup. Look i. it's pretty easy. He's one of the leaders in the teams right people for you. So at the end of the coach. Now you why not put him in. You wanna win games. He want to get to the world cup right. So if you not have a chance psyche. Right now would happen so you put them in place he has to show up now. There's no excuse for him. You know he knows what happened and would you know he has to know. Show up on the field. So i didn't creek beheld a student to writing i would. I would play him too as we mentioned the. Us did get five points from those first three matches in concacaf. It leaves them in a three way. Tie for second again. The top teams automatically to the world cup fourth into the intercontinental play-offs. No gina no christian. Pulisic no john brooks no. Tim ream casey What's what's a realistic hall for the us in this window. Japan said it. The realistic goal has to be seven points. I mean you have to look at these two home games as as as winds as winds are must wins. Not must wins. I mean i'm not gonna go too crazy because you can still see that the that in the last round when when you slip up against canada you can still go on the road and pick up three. You don't wanna be counting on road points in zeffirelli and so what you have to look jamaica. Who is is struggling at the moment getting their players that they wanna have either fit or into the squad there in last place in the group and your home expectation. You win that game. You go down to panama. Obviously change is going to have to be made. You're talking about three games in a short window. The squad's going to come into play but when you're home games pick up something on the road a lot of points considering all the all the guys that are out. Is that realistic. No i said before this about said comfortable right. Because if i watched the game in honduras first half nick. We were not good. We were sleeping and we made a lot of mistakes but then second half when you see chris. Pouliches was out. You know brooks without indeterminate. Eat raina was out. This group has a quality to shine. You know in now. When i look at here the field sick. What the half the two home games jamaica. And then go into my you know and then having costa rica after say seven points you have in six points. At least you have to win because there's no excuse anymore and you have to show it up. We talk about like how much quality to have is young group and all that stuff but now to shine in to show it. We're looking back at the Match against on duda first-half casey really really poor performance from the us and actually at halftime in this.

"Like i'm not. I i know charlie davies was kind of really really. You know taking this narrative of that's a good point. That's a good point. I know that you didn't get any points in on the road in their last qualifying. I understand that and i know that was a cauldron that they went into tonight. That atmosphere was special that they played that game tonight. But i don't care like. I've come to feel a certain type of way about this team and this group of players even though john brooks christian pulisic you know you can tell me who didn't play tonight. Okay that's fine. But i still see a team out there. That like no offence to el salvador. I think if there was going to be a game where the. Us went on the road to take three points Incredible atmosphere not missing or not. This would have been it and they'll have other opportunities. And i'm sure i would like to think at some point. They will beat someone on on the road but It would have been nice tonight to get started off on that on that foot. It's not crippling. it's not even bad necessarily But for me. I kind of that game ended and i thought yeah that st at that's the iguchi new position and basically what he said afterwards was boy. Exactly what you're saying. I i get as i. I'm pretty we might as well be honest with the listeners. There's oftentimes we come on this podcast and we are just fired up to talk about a selection or an incident or why. Why can't this generation of american soccer players keep the ball or you know should bradley being the center the midfield by the way you know how quickly we moved on from the michael bradley era and just like eighteen months. It's over button tonight. The takes we'll be tepid. Dot is just the facts of. There's not a lot to say about this game tonight except it's a little disappointing. I think one of the things that were talked up massively particularly over the two games verses mexico the nation's league final and the concacaf gold cup final was the swagger of the us. And we've got these guys you know young guys like mckennie and they're going to do x. Y. and get your face and they're an aggressive bold confident crew on tonight. We kind of expected that you say who's mason. So what mckinney was there. Hyder adams was there ran. Was there sergeant. Was there right. You know was more than enough for us to bring something more than we did and it was just a little bit disappointing. Now i will say this there were factors. And i'm not blaming the pitch. Cbs is piggybacking on concacaf coverage of these games. 'cause the cbs commentary crew weren't at the stadium and the camera angles were increasingly bizarre. They started off like when my kid brother used to flick through the angles on fee. When we'd be trying to play a game we had a behind the goal angle than we had a a behind. I was like dude sit down. We can't see the other party was like this could be really funny if he just stands in front of that camera. The whole night almost rooting for it. There was a not to digress but bald heads. There was a bald mina at a league. One game i believe during lockdown and the league one games on the nfl games were all Transmitted via the website because fans couldn't be there So it was an automated camera that would follow the ball but unfortunately it was picking up his bald head as the ball so it was the ball field but big old bowl. These head was keeping it at the wrong end. But i digress. But did those different camera angles would betray the field every now and again from the high up view it looked hey looked a little bit yellow but not gray my god when the camera actually got close to the field you saw what it was just like dry patchy on even long in so many areas short and others that's not conducive to very passing game having said that pushing that aside the us didn't have that fluid the doors combinations in play how many times you gave the ball away from what you thought were like good opportunities and in fact in general the was sold little passing are sustained passing in the game that i think it was yeah around the hour mark where three outside of the door players put three passes together and the whole stadium erupts in were dominating possession like they were they were they were quick to that yet very quick to it because it it didn't happen that much in the game i do wonder andrew when you look at the x. g so the actually finished oppa el-salvador at seven shots dura point tunein next year which is a boat right some that some speculative efforts take turner made a safe from ahead or but i think it was fairly standard for there were not many moments where i kana like ten stop no there was a couple couple maybe in the first half so the us started well and then there was a period where acevedo grew into it and they had like two or three corners and the role There was one volley that someone blocked. And i thought that was traveling. But you're right. There was one that they put over the bar. Yeah those one that almost shaved the top of the net. It was a hetero thing and but yeah there was. It was rodriguez with the header but generally speaking. I didn't feel terribly worried about about anything that was happening. In terms of el salvador's attacking there wasn't really any are ex g for the whole game on thirteen shots. One point six eight and you think. Oh kay away from home on pinches that one that one are large part of that would be robinson header. From the reign of free-kick inswinger early on grigol school grape all arena. Now again ran. I think struggling little bit from the pitch with his free kicks. Because i think the next one he had three or four. Free kicks from that insight left-hand channel about thirty thirty five yards and he ballooned one another one got cleared. Another one was really good. Pass to servino desks right before halftime. Who totally missed controlled. It and playing summed up the game but if robinson scores their dot is different game on. I think with the way we started on the right hand side ran got got slid in early on after three minutes it decided and then there was the good played on the right from the edlund on four minutes at the cross was deflected back onto sergeant and went over the bar on then the robinson header on eight minutes in that ten minute period or spell if we had scored there. I think we go on and win the game but it didn't happen. A salvador grew into it. They played the role of spoiler very well. How many times did they into intercept something. How many times did they get a foot in There were times when i talk. Brendan arnson raina. And conrad elephant. Day really looked like concacaf world cup qualifying novices. They genuinely did it's not. They have played against concacaf teams before they have. They haven't played in that kind of atmosphere. They haven't played in a game. Where free kicks that you will. Ordinarily cash in the bundesliga are in league on your not getting them here. How many times do we see players by over and and you just thought. Hey i i don't the way i'm okay with no. You're not getting those. You're not going to get them A couple of times there was just so bizarre free-kicks gave him where you thought i don't know how that is what it is but Yeah it was disjointed. Toss wasn't a lotta things happened If you were worried defensively you probably looking at that gap between tim. Ring answer genius desk. There was a couple of times where salvador balloon diagonals in into that gap and tried to get people in bush. Yeah not a lot from either team. Yeah just just may. Yeah i guess you know what kind of made it that way is you. You go into some of these road qualifiers knowing that this this is potentially how it goes. You know not a ton of opportunities. But i don't know. I guess i had kind of hoped that the us had a group.

I think we go on and win the game but it didn't happen. A salvador grew into it. They played the role of spoiler very well. How many times did they into intercept something. How many times did they get a foot in There were times when i talk. Brendan arnson raina. Conrad elephant day really looked like concacaf world cup qualifying novices. They genuinely did. It's not have played against concacaf teams before they have they haven't played not kind of atmosphere. They haven't played in a game. Where free kicks that. You will ordinarily gash in the bundesliga are in league on your not getting them here. How many times do we see players by over and and you just thought. Hey i i don't the way i'm okay with no. You're not getting those. You're not going to get them A couple of times there was just so bizarre free-kicks gave him where you thought i don't know how that is what it is but Yeah it was disjointed. Toss wasn't a lotta things happened If you were worried defensively. You probably looking at that. Gap between tim ring and virginia desks. There was a couple of times where salvador balloon diagonals in into that gap and tried to get people in bush. Yeah not a lot from either team. yeah just may. "Pulisic brave one v one against should it. Put it away minute seven. Okay another josie outdoor plates. Tim ream clearing the ball. Josie bringing it down and it cutting up more in the buck should have put it away. This is minute seven okay. This is the goal he should have had. So that's two right. Now minute thirty josie out attracting players in his paw getting an across this. They're all attended josie. Now it's just a player that creates things. His size is physical skill. Set the way. He carries himself with the ball. How dangerous it could be. I went back and check my notes in this game. I take notes. I should've been four one. Us men's national team by the fifty. Second minute there was a jordan morris. Header cleared off the line by one dollars a chance that should have been put in josie. Ultra was a huge part of that when he comes up minutes. Sixty four the us. Men's national team energy levels. They tanked they no longer can retain the ball. He's so good with his back to go. He's so good at retaining interlinking and bringing players in a skill set. We've not seen from another. Us men's national team number nine with the goal. And say what you want. Well he missed. Go right there. He still behind only landon donovan and clint dempsey in the all time scoring charts the us men's nationally and he's thirty one years of age. I know what you guys are going to say. And i'm by. I'm with you but if these young players aren't stepping up they're gonna miss them you know. It was a great performance. The one you just highlighted in your second role as josie alter doors agent. The only problem was that was his last game with the us men's national team and it's almost two years ago. He hasn't played for toronto. See since late. May i think it was a twenty second of may. Was his last game so hurt. When i start thinking about josie. We thought that the gold cup might be an opportunity for him to use the international stage to boost his club stock. Clearly his resume is not going to get him another. Call up with the. Us men's national team. He's going to have to use club. Not just find a club but lockdown a starting spot at that club and then keep scoring at that club to even get back into the conversation. Yeah for this national team at thirty one years old with the money. He's on tse. That seems very very if not unlikely just difficult. I think we have to ask the question. Now we've danced around it on this show. But is this. Officially the end of josie altidore. Because this is an mls focused. Roster this is what you just said was a b. or c. josie outdoor at. This point isn't good enough for a beer. C team is okay for him. Do you think it's not good enough. That gregg berhalter couldn't realistically put him on the team without having an actual club. I think josie outdoors resume. If gregg berhalter wanted to bring him he could have. I think it's enough to bring him and gregg berhalter decision clearly clearly. That's not how we feel. So josie done with the national team. I don't think jones with the national team. And that's because of the reason we just stated these number nine sworn staking claim to this position now if there was a nine who is banging in goals left and right or two. He's done but there isn't right now. There hasn't been a nine state claim to that. So as long as josie authors thirty one years of age is still in this picture and they're scoring goals. You're gonna keep hearing from altered or one of those. As i mentioned thirty six players cut from this list of fifty nine the preliminary list another one. Her yon arauco young right back for the la galaxy nineteen years old. Let's listen in as gregg. Berhalter explains the decision in terms of julian. It's it's a case of him being a national and not fully ready to commit to the team and he know that the goal coupled lock him in permanently and he you know he wasn't ready to make that step. I don't want to speak for him. But i can imagine. When he looks at the depth of the right back position he sees a logjam there and he maybe fully see his pathway to being a starter in the next world cup. What i can tell you. Is we really value. Julie and everything is an outstanding player and we think he can make a run it of being start on this and a lot of it's going to be up to form in his development but he's a young player young talented player and we think that you know he does have a future with this team but for the gulf cup is not going to be taking taking part interesting comments there her from gregg. Berhalter what do you make of it. I.

"There's been a lot of talk this pressing style playing out from the back style possession based style. Do they have the guys to do it? Jeff asked bear halter about that. "I mean when stuff has been vailable, you know, he's been pretty much the guy to play. So. Yeah, I it was not whereabouts best game. I mean, it's it's really been kind of almost jecklin high territory for the US. I remember when he put against Portugal, you know, that that first game after Couve, obviously, he let's not horrible goal. But then against Italy. He was brilliant. And. And seem to be really playing with a lot of confidence that comes from, you know, having three consecutive clean sheets in the Champions League. So it was it was unfortunate for him to the ended up losing the game that night. But certainly, you know, when you from our angle, you know, watching on the, you know, from the press box, you're thinking men. You know, the Chilean got he really ripped that it must have gone right in the corner back on a caught a good solid chunk of the middle of the goal. So yeah, I didn't think that that's positioning was was was I thought it was pretty suspect in that instance, you know, this kind of the goalie positioning system, you know, you kind of have your internal radar and for whatever reason he felt like he really needed to to hug that near post. I mean, he is a tall lanky guy. Maybe thought he could get over. But you know, that that was it was some venom in he would have. I think he could've taken a good step to left, and it's still manage to to cover all the parts of the goal that he needed to. He may not have been great. But some guys who I thought actually were decent, you know. There's a lot of criticism around Yossi artists, especially as I touch, but he had a pretty nice I touch last night and helping to set up the goal. I thought Michael Bradley was really good last night. What do you who were some of the guys that you thought maybe saw their stock rise a little bit? Jeff. Bradley did play. Well, but it's interesting how all these managers keep wanting to to make him like the sole holding midfielder, and it gives him an awful lot of ground to cover. And I'm wondering wondering why why they're doing that? I mean, I suppose that's a question for Greg Berle to for another day. But, you know, fifteen minutes of the match, I mean criminal Dan was was dropped in, you know, pretty much alongside Michael Bradley. I mean that was kind of like the first tactical tweak that the altar made. And you know, Diego bell Dez and terrific. Dow I mean, they were they're finding these pockets and not really being accounted for. And there was a lot of indecision on Tim ream sparred about men, do I pinch into try to cover the Dow or but then they were hitting these long diagonal balls to reseal. Out wide..

Is very good on your wondering, you wondering is our other people paying attention are other clubs paying attention is anybody in European attention to this because I don't know he's he's coming to this side on even like week to week with with the rebels. He's good. Yeah. He certainly is. And you know, you like to see somebody get a chance the way that he is who you know. We've we've talked about his path from the lower leagues here in the US to MLS anelle to where he's at getting kind of regular looks from from Gregg Berhalter in the US men. So I think it's it's great. And you're right. He is making the most of the opportunity. Can we quick you just give some some some love to our listeners on just give you a flavor of their responses. "Then George bell probably won't be your guy. If you say, I want both my fullback, Saddam forward and attack is the key for them. And we have a great defensive midfielder or two and two centrebacks that can cover for them. Then George Bello might be your guy where you say, I just need athleticism. I need attacking intent. Push. I don't think bellows that ethnic. He's not like a track star. I think he's more like he's he's just a smart player. He's not just speed. He's off the charts athlete like when you see terms of balance chill and size and strength and all of that. So I'm thinking about twenty twenty two and more about the Gold Cup. I'm thinking about the next six months with this. Because what Barack let's do this. Let's do this the guys of the Gold Cup. Okay. Because twenty twenty it was just so far away. It's like, you're you're speculating it that wryness to where these guys will go on what they'll do there's a little bit less speculation here. So let's stick to I would say Tim ream because he's Tim ream is not really centreback, and he's proved it repeatedly for the US national team, and he's not really quite a fullback. But he's really good in a back three. This is essentially left-center Mak in a back three. If you're going to have either Lima or or Adams as the right fullback slash central midfielder. Then I think you probably play Tim ream as the left center back because you don't need overlapping, you need a guy who could pass the hell out of the ball and defend a little bit. And that's what remiss I think Jonathan Brooks centreback still despite some of the nervousness about him at times of the US is still pretty solidly. I would guess number one. What the wait and see Greg does. Once he gets in this position to play them between Aaron long who captained this team against Panama and walkers Zimmerman who made the most out of this particular opportunity now, it says something about long that he got the captaincy after this long camp with the names that were in there with the fact that he hasn't really been at the US a lot in the past with the fact that you really just emerged in the last two and a half three years or so who did more for themselves in this camp in this game. Obviously have another opportunity both basically twenty six Zimmerman clearly dead. But the way the team was set up was for him to do that the way they seem was set up was for him to fill in that space to move forward to be on the ball to break lines with his passing where for long and on the left side of the field. It was more to just maintain possession brake pressure when it came. But otherwise to find Bradley's feet to find Zimmerman's feet to push which he did. Well, and as you said was given a level of trust from Gregg Berhalter, neither of them had a bad game. Neither of them. I. Made a mistake which. Ramin had one mistake. I think midway through the second half where he he tried to play again through the lines two feet. And he really telegraph to him. Yeah. But that was his only mistake of the game. And he was he was pushing the tempo. I thought Zimmerman I thought Zimmerman made the stronger case, but that was because he went out there and played a really active role whereas long's role in the team because of the team that we were facing and because of just the structure of the formation was a little bit more passive Gold Cup. Maybe it's too right now they're both on the team. Yeah. So is didn't call back from another lonestar in England..

"Welcome insulated sedition ESPN f c I'm Dan Thomas show. My Steve Nicol and pull mariner game are caught with a shortlist. We talking Sarah and league, but we kick things off in the Premier League. Huntersville take on a Manchester City the vistas going into this game seven points. Adrift Liverpool after victory against pursue palace. ES city that what you would expect really would dominate this game eighteen minutes in it would be done yellow would make one. But this with the help of a deflection questionable. Whether actual straight on goal keeper goes wrong way in the back of the net. It would stay until nine minutes into the second half. Not very often you see Raheem sterling header. That's exactly what double cities advantage. It was fun. Tastic Bill to the to the cross covenant from Sunday boats, wonderful goal his movie sign of a handsome of side yet -solutely what he puts the ball physical face. Still comes in two minutes later the ball in mid failed. And boy would city punish Aguayo insanity. Green. Oh. Shop and say sieve, it's grit bowl from Danilo rate here, not only knowing where glad over as he has a lovely talks signing. I look it up for confirmation. Finishes how the sale town nil manages the Sissy three. Meaning the points got between the talk to back to four about the race. But Steve you're excited by Liverpool's result. Yes, why I don't think he is the world it shouldn't defined also when thought of an old Liverpool coach your main Geico on Moran. And the first thing he would have said an address after the game as they say he would see that's the Qena victory. When's you the Premier League and the for semi here them seeing some thought see talking basically sin, you're so bad, and you still end up winning. Beating city and beaten United and beaten taught them, and those are not the games that when you defend your league. It's it's days lake Liverpool. Hod onto crystal follows when you're awful both defensively under the tot scored four goals relates Kim sell it will so lucky with three of the goals. Right. But they wouldn't a game. And the stay top of the league is it's not an anomaly is this a problem for Liverpool. I really stay what he's saying. I know what his driving. I was. I never thought it was in doubt. I told you know, even even on the fuss breaks artists mill and they're on the for the first goal. The go one done. I was never fearful of appeal and simply because they've got on the bench of what they've gone on that front line. You know Stevie saying that the goals were not gray. But they you know, you look at solid gold. That was just pure genius from him. You know, the strike comes in. But most players would give that up say, okay. Let's go a noble over the bottle, whatever. But that's just pure genus. From in the end. He's just guide in the bucket the net. So I think when you go, you know, Shakir coming off the bench of that from three I think, no danger. We've got lots of times rather rice. Of course, I've the next few weeks. Let's focus on what else happened today. Phoolan on Spurs, of course, for spares Knowstone. No cane say you had your rent starting out front even the best of gains. Fourteen minutes into this has been a penalty. Wong? A sense the panels. I mean between relief euless who's them, which of these other Affi, doesn't she? I really don't understand that was nothing given that again from a piece two minutes later. It is one your enter the own goal. Feudal play. You've always got to expect the ball committee. Yes, is typically goes over to goes Tribune, it goes over the defend, but he's got to do the Spurs getting things together in the second half six minutes after the break. Deadly alley makes it one one was called shoot yourself in the foot. I mean, Tim ream horrible attempt to clear all of a sudden the in back your net. Look this chance for your energy to make amends own-goal. Well, this is supposed to be false. It's absolutely on a plate for him as sick in one in one as well. And her we cannot get from not rage. You can't get it on target concern have a Spurs Danny Ali going down home. His amnestying Sinoe said the magic doesn't look goods. Really what when you go down light up. Hold your..
