And then it's like, I don't want to answer any more questions. Let me get out of here, and it's like, hold on now. Where is the protection for this situation? Where is the damage control for this? If you pull the hawks, he said he thought the players would if you have split them up, they would side with McMillan. That's the problem. If that so if that's true and the players would side with macmillan in this situation, then you've got a real problem on your hands. Look, this is a where there's smoke, there's fire situation. I don't know if they're more talented than they were last year. I don't know if that's a statement that I would necessarily agree with. They lost Jalen Brunson who was their second best player. They did not replace Jalen Brunson and they are saying they're getting Tim Hardaway back from injury. Right, they're getting Tim Hardaway junior back who's 30 years old off of a serious foot injury. Spencer Dinwiddie for an entire regular season, I want to see if he can be healthy and he was very bad in Washington, he was pretty critical for them as the third ball handler. You see a secondary ball handler in a good team. I don't know. And then, look, Christian wood, a talent. I think the front court is a little messy to be honest with you. And I think the Christian would then could get ugly. There's potential for that. I think he's a really good talent. A lot of questions, defensively, a lot of questions about whether or not he's going to fit right into Jason Kidd and Sean Sweeney's defensive system, which is pretty demanding. Love Dorian Finney Smith. But yeah, I don't necessarily think this is losing Brunson's a big deal.

If you start looking insane, man, start next year, Luca and Chris apps are $79 million combined on our payroll. Just for those two players, then we've got 19.6 where Tim Hardaway junior, 11 for Dwight Powell, ten for regi Bullock. All right, can we pay him 15 to 20 million? And are we ready to push that deep in a larger attacks? So all right, so let's take it a step further. And I go get them this summer. So only three teams with cap space. Eight point nine rebounds and one point three blocks the only other guys in the league average twenty eight and at least a block. Last season were joel embiid. Who was an mvp candidate. Youngest who has mvp candidate crowd anthony towns. Who's karl anthony. Towns and christian would if you add in the two three pointers per game that list drops down to just porzingas. Karl anthony towns. There is a unique profile here and it may not be good enough to be the second star on a championship team. I don't know the the raw numbers suggests that there's a really valuable quantity there in some sort of package. And then i feel like the defense is is the rest of it but but she's a max player. That's the problem is. He's amax player list. you listed. he like he can be a christian would type player but christian would isn't making max money like that's that's inherently. The issue is with the expectations. That come with the max contract and then just like the actual captured if you're allocating that percentage of your cap to a player like that. Even though he can be highly useful. Highly impactful on both ends. If this defensive stuff sticks around and holds That's the issue and he'll probably still be overpaid and look. That's common in this league. There's a lot of guys who are paid more than their actual value. If you run the numbers whatever But it's why. I asked earlier if he's not there. Second star than who is because he's making second star money and it's hard to fit another max deal on there. He's probably not all easy to trade at this stage. Now, his is a little different than Trey young's because he is already met the qualifiers for the 30% max. So he will 100% be at whatever 30% of the salary cap is starting next year right now that projects to be 5 years, $207 million from Luca on that extension. So there we are with Dallas. I think the guys they brought in are better than the guys they lost, especially for what this team needs. And I think they got Hardaway, resigned to a nice contract. They could have gone the cap space route and got involved in a whole bunch of guys, but it looks like they read the market right on that and said, no, let's try to retain some guy. So not a lot of changes, but I think the ones they've made are good ones. I agree. I think they are good ones. And I think, you know, obviously being today being hawks and mad stay, I think this is the rare trade where looking back, both teams would do this trade again. I think the hawks are happy with the way things are turned out and I think the mountains are happy with the way things turn out. Obviously, Luca, getting that big contract extension, it's pretty pleased with that. But you're right, look, the Mavs they didn't do a ton this off season. I think we can argue. "Think the place the start here is the clippers are now down to go after another just disastrous night in la rob. Would you see from this one. And how bad is it for the clippers. I mean what i see is a complete lack of cohesive defense. This is a team that's supposed to have to a wings. That's supposed to have a lot of two way veterans employers and you can mix and match. You can have different looks. They somehow got stuck between not putting enough pressure on luca and also not staying home enough on the role players to take them out. They i mean you really have to thread the needle to do that when you have the personnel that they do. I don't know how they ended up in that place and it was tricky because in the first half they were able to read luca a little bit better than what we saw in game. One you know they were picking them off on the weak side a little bit and then everything just kind of got teased. Apart in a luca can pull apart those coverages. He can string you out. He can feel out when you're doubling and when you're not really well and i think most importantly all of these supplementary guys the tim hardaway jr junior's capeeze and the jalen brunson's they all stepped up and played basically pitch perfect games in terms of delivering in the spots. They were supposed to deliver it.

Somebody theorized yesterday that maybe because of the Corona virus, the Warriors are practicing less now, like all teams in the league of practicing less, But maybe that has an impact on the players that are the newest to the system. "I'm not going to going there hard. Real e could tell the trainers that Pat knew that, but he knew what I need to do. And I need to go do it that hard. You know me and so in the A lot of guys didn't go that hard. You know, we just went through the motions and understood what we need to do and get ready for the games. But you know other guys, you know, you put that in their minds that they need to go hard all the time. All the time all the time. That's how you get him. And you know we went hard when we need to go hard. But when we did go hard when we didn't need to go hard, I didn't go hard. I knew what I could do. I just didn't like to run Sprint. You know if he was like, you know this this game sprint. I go in there and make sure my team don't run sprints, and that's it. Uh, right. Well, you know, it was funny, and I don't know if this was the case in in Miami or other places, but when we're gold state, we didn't have to run sprints because we used to scrimmage like for half an hour. We'd we'd run our place and we'd scrimmage and I always thought that was very instructive. You know Nellie would stop it occasionally, but basically, we just go out there and and run our sets. One team would have one set. One team would have, another said. When I went to Orlando. We never scrimmaged. We had controlled scrimmage where he'd call a play. You'd run it. You'd run down to the rent of the court and then stop and then you do it all over again. And I just thought that was the weirdest thing that coaches Didn't want to let their teams get out there because you get your conditioning. You get game simulation, and you could learn on the fly. And I just thought that was the oddest thing because that was really the first time you know, I played for Charlotte and Dick harder. We didn't scrimmage much there, but I always thought every team scrimmage lot during practice come to find out the words and Nellie were probably scrimmaged. I mean it scrimmage more than anybody else, But I'm guessing a lot of other teams just didn't scrimmage lot during practice because the coaches wanted to feel like they had control of the whole practice. Right, Right. Right. You know, we were like you said we play more. Five on five Got up and down, ran for five minutes or seven minutes here. Heart getting run hard. He'd get you out. And now he was a stickler about not running hard. Look, we're getting up and down. We're playing defense. We're going through our schemes. We run our offense and we and we run in and we doing it hard. Um what, Pat? You know, it was more control scrimmages like that, Um, I'm down in back that are down and back and back down, you know, two or three times and that was it. You know, he never like nobody to get hurt or anything like that. But we did most of our stuff. Real three on 32 on two fall before getting up and down the court. That's how we get our conditioning in and three man weave. That's how we get our conditioning here, so we got a lot of conditioning them. But when it was time to Tonto, five on five It was, uh up, back up, and that was it. And then you know, we'll switch it to defense and we go over this, but we was going over situations and stuff. So I mean, it was good that way, too. But, uh, you know, sometimes, you know, we didn't need that. Sometimes we'd like I said the playoffs. We don't need that. We needed rest. We needed fresh minds.
