Passenger Charged With Groping, Punching Flight Attendants

"The Miami Dade Police report, 22 year old Maxwell Berry, now charged with three counts of battery where his behavior on the Frontier Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Miami Saturday. Police say Barry had been drinking, allegedly assaulted three flight attendants groped to female and punched a male attendant. You know what? Why do they have to mention he was drinking? Like, what does that have to do with it? I've been drinking on a plane. I didn't do that. Why? Why should drinking. Take the hit right. If you're smoking weed. They wouldn't say that. "Tim Conway Jr. Mark Thompson, and I'll tell you who is the go to guy. Mr Golden Mike. Mr. Employee of the month. A guy who works the streets. Like, uh, Was going to say Lady of the evening, but that was really I'm sorry. I should not even I'm into his hooker. You, are you? You working? You're working hard, my friend. You're working overtime. There's no area switch on this, man. I well, Steve Gregory, everybody. How are you? Mark? I'm really well I love talking to you, You know? A lot of stuff that's happening. And in this case, you have some inside track on this covert 19 vaccine, the Moderna covert neck 19 vaccine and how it might get to the OC hospitals. Well, actually, how it's going to be distributed. And it's interesting because both the counties of Orange in L. A are following the CDC guidelines in it, and there's very specific reasons for that. The CDC wants everyone to sort of follow the guidelines, but states and counties are free to do whatever they want to do with the vaccine. But there's a lot of concern right now about unfair advantage or conflicts of interest in respect. You know of who gets the vaccine when they get it? Who deserves it? Who doesn't deserve it? And it's It's not really there yet, but they're starting to. You're starting to see a little bit of thing. Vaccine anxiety develop because you know these lists in these tears are coming out, and the government loves to do charts in colors in Here's in stages. And then this is no exceptions because The CDC last night just updated its list of who can get it. And in what order? They're recommending getting it right now in L. A county. As of yesterday, 23,000 vaccines have been administered, and that's all been to front line health care workers. And there will be another 48,750 of the Fizer Beyond TEC vaccine Going out this week. We should have it by the end of the week, and that's the two shot vaccine that when you have to get You get the one and then you have to wait three weeks later to get the second But at the same time, Moderna is sending its very first shipment here. The recently approved Madonna vaccine. We're getting 116,600 doses later this week. They have been earmarked for 338 skilled nursing facilities throughout the county and also 16,000 GMT and paramedics will also receive that one. I thought it was interesting to just as an aside because you're mentioning in these hospitals who gets it. You talk about frontline health care workers, this sort of thing. I thought it was really a bit of good news. And I have to say maybe I've become so cynical. But when I heard that the janitorial custodial staff in many of these hospitals, they would be also inoculated along with a lot of these front line workers. I was so encouraged by that because I was so sort of spring loaded to read the story about But guess who's getting jobbed out of the vaccine? You know what I mean? But but but no. They are included. No, and you're absolutely right. And that was a concern from the very beginning because people don't realize this stuff that these the janitorial staff the maintenance staff, the support staff have have to deal with. On a daily basis 24 hours a day. So absolutely I'm with you. I'm really glad that they were big part of that because they are truly laborers. And they truly do all the work behind the scenes clean up all the messes. I mean, they're around all the fluids around all of the bacteria. The virus. Around everything as well. So it's I'm glad that they were part of that. Yeah, That's the point. I mean, they are. They're dealing dealing with all those things you just mentioned. In other words, they're exposed to all of those very things that could make them sick. And so it was good to see it. So you know you mentioned who's jumping the line, and it seems as though they're all sorts of manner of Ways to jump ahead. Uh but so far it's been fairly tightly controlled. Yeah, the The thing is, is it's also very it's highly guarded. You know, when those shipments come in there under, you know they're they're basically Brinks armored truck kind of guarding and they're going to Undisclosed locations, for the most part, anything eventually we're all going to find out because, remember the fighter beyond Tec vaccine has to be at that sub zero temperature. And so there's only so many places that could be nine places in L. A county that can accommodate that. Madeira, on the other hand, can be done in a regular commercial freezer. So and fridge, so you know, they don't disclose the locations of the doses. They don't want anyone stealing them. They're under lock and key. The whole nine yards. The big concern now is and these are questions that I ask Barbara for rare the director of County health for L. A Um, you know, In what order? Will the elected officials get it? And in what order? Will the celebrities get it? You know, we have more celebrities in l a than anywhere on the planet. That's a great point. Everyone thought that like people who have a primetime syriza on the air now. Well, they get it first. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Is it Prime Time Series network or cable is only use it. Think it that way. Primary tier cable or secondary to your cable way public access or is an actual network. But you're right. And this is these are the questions I wanted to ask because I want to find out because they're much has been made about the equity index. And much has been made about how the equity you know on the closures. It's all based on equity. The equity metric And so I want to see if the equity metric applied to vaccines. Now Ferrer made it a very solid point to say Yes, absolutely, You know, a person's bank account will not guarantee them. Higher spot in the line and someone celebrity status will not achieve And I think identified a pro sports team does not necessarily get in line before anyone else does. And I think that's going to be a big part of it, too. Now. That doesn't mean there are not a number of concierge doctors out there right now dialing the phone. And, you know, cramping up their hand because they're dialing so many numbers to find out how they get that super secret palette of vaccines in the back door, so then give it to their most VIPs clients. That's a great point. I mean, honestly, speak. Yeah, And it's going on. Not only in Hollywood. I mean Southern California, New York. It's going on everywhere. Exactly all of the world that money money buys access. It's gonna be the biggest commodity. I mean, everyone's gonna that's going to be the number one commodity for the For the rich and famous. You know, I should. I should say one thing about the rich and famous. You also want the rich and famous to get the vaccine because those influencers as they're often called, actually do just that They influence others to have confidence in the vaccine. Well, funny. You say that because for rare said that they are going to reach out to what they consider influencers to take the vaccine, but that would not put them at the top of the line. They would have to get it in the order that they physically and medically are allowed to get it. Oh, that's interesting. So then, presumably younger people are not going to get it till the very tail and younger, healthy people are not going to get it for a while. But then you know, the older folks 74 above are going to get it before anybody else and then the next two years, 65 above and then it's a 65 and above level that was going to be also including people with Underlying health conditions. And you know people with obesity, diabetes, things like that. They'll get us so then, presumably, they're gonna look for influencers with diabetes and influencers who are obese? My God..

"Wells filling in for Tim Conway junior tonight and tomorrow night and that's what was as you may or may not know for C. N. B. C. which is my day job I cover the legal marijuana industry because I think it's a fascinating evolving green rash over the last twenty fourteen when Oregon and Colorado was getting Washington Colorado legalize followed by Oregon Nevada California and several other states California was supposed to be where all was gonna be great everybody was can convert to legal it was going to create all these jobs is going to create a billion dollars a year in tax revenues for the state that has not happened in fact in the last fiscal year instead of a billion dollars we collected two hundred and eighty eight million dollars and according to the state's cannabis advisory committee I'm only about twenty five percent of the weed sold in California is legal I would suggest is even less than that due to a combination of high taxes a lot of places won't even issue licenses for there to be shop so there's this bottle neck of a lot of pot has been grown and no where to sell it legally because cities and counties won't allow it and heavy regulation of course what is the name what is the state's response to not getting enough taxes is to raise taxes so the legal cannabis industry starting yesterday now has higher taxes making it even less competitive to the black market which continues to dominate in California one of the growth areas in this the budding industry is compliance because the state didn't come out with just like five easy laws for you to start and to be legal no it's got about five million laws to the point where it is almost impossible for a legal marijuana industry legal cannabis industry to be compliant in the state for example there are things like you can't have free samples which makes sense you don't want to be giving way I have you know a schedule one on the federal level you don't wanna be giving away cannabis products well the problem is that means you're our sales people going to a convention where they're meeting with buyers cannot give the buyer samples they could technically mean that your own employees cannot sample a product for are indeed unless they go through the system of of paying the tax state taxes so that there's a sale first so it's become extremely difficult and Melissa Etheridge you know multi Grammy Award winning singer has been for years trying to start her legal cannabis business I and I talked to her about it awhile back and here's how much she has been spending so far I've invested personally you know six figures easily over almost seven it took two years for us to get our manufacturing Lysons in Santa Cruz County and we are the only one there and this is Santa Cruz this is a place known for cannabis known for I mean we used to call a college there you know you have major in cannabis there so this is what this is is this is a county and the city that is very very they want to do this right so she has spent over two years and a good deal of her own money and she has a couple investors trying to get a company she calls Etheridge farms off the ground which will really be for medicinal purposes she's a cancer survivor she said Canada's really got her through it you know there's not a lot of science about that but people act is very little science about that but people who have taken a cannabis use cannabis as part of their recovery they they've half of many of the found it very beneficial this is taking so long I've answered sometimes if she just hasn't thought about throwing in the towel forgetting the whole thing cut to I can tell you how many times I've had there's the money not there it goes away you know and I always talk about how would so much like my music career I it took me five years to get signed yelled to a a record major record label I had every single record label come see me and some of them you didn't hear the head or they didn't you know I wasn't in this is in the eighties I wasn't you know old easy to put on you know that the radio and just like this Etheridge farms is not easily yeah let's go sell it make a whole bunch of money because we are dedicated to compliance and to medicinally present this to the world so she wants to do it right so again compliance has become a huge growth industry in cannabis and she went to a Julie Crockett who's a compliance officer to try and walk her through this in Crockett has been running into all kinds of people who want to do the right thing but the state of California I know is going to shock most of you has made it so difficult that their continued they wanna go fully legit and some of them have one foot in the illegal market and the legal market listen there are operators that are conducting illicit activity to pay their license industry taxes because they can't charge the consumers those numbers without them going away I mean that there is no competition at the consumer level between licensed and unlicensed so how ridiculous is that you've got to pay your high taxes which just went up in California depending on where you are in the supply chain and so to make enough money to pay those taxes you're still growing illegal weed on the side that is on tax and taking those profits you pay your taxes by the way even though marijuana remains a schedule one drug at the federal level and is illegal at the federal level the IRS still insist you pay taxes there are cash counting machines at many IRS offices because people are paying their federal taxes whether in Denver or Sacramento in cash because they can't get a bank account because they're in cannabis which is still illegal at the federal level and and here's what's more if you own a regular business you can make a regular retail business you can make all kinds of tax deductions for your rent you can direct your rent you can deduct your payroll you can deduct this you can deduct that the IRS will not let cannabis retailers make those deductions so they're not only having to pay the same tax as every other legitimate business they're not getting the same deductions as every other legitimate business and they're going up against and losing to a completely untaxed unregulated unlicensed black market that continues to thrive when we come back we're going to talk about a couple of other developments happening in the cannabis industry including a potential breathalyzer and the need for actual science because people make all kinds of claims about what camera cannabis or CBT which can be have base do we don't have much science about it and there's some disturbing claims now of what some doctors are starting to see and then later in the show we're gonna talk about cannabis etiquette if you're bringing or if you brought cannabis to a house party rat term new year's eve your grandma's house over the holidays what was the right etiquette and then later I want to take your calls on whether you're still buying illegal we and what would make you switch over to buying it legitimately Jane wells filling in for Tim Conway "This is the Tim Conway junior show well Kelly here to remind you that this is not the end of the decade let me say it again because someone is there what how okay it is not the end of the decade I came in today and Monday was saying Hey what do we talk about tonight go talk about possibly the end of the decade in type of in a decade celebrations for no not possible the end of the decade the end of the decade because it is the end of the day and how mon go do you figure that this is the end of the decade because it's the last Friday of the decade that's it there's no more there is more decade to be had there will be more Fridays in fact about baby fifty two of them of the decade of this decade now does that's not that's not sure okay let me just ask you some basic questions for foundation okay how many years are there in a decade this ten the ten okay how many years are there in a century I believe that and then be a hundred is not a trick question real hundred okay their hundred yeah right we measure our years in terms of AD anno Domini in the year of our lord I understand it right yes okay I don't know many course alright come since if how common sense if this is the end of the decade which runs then from two thousand and ten through two thousand and nineteen that is a ten year period correct yeah which would mean if we went back to the very beginning of time than the first decade would have had to been zero ten nine what is yours right now because now it doesn't make sense yes nobody count zero right but what about those three hundred and sixty five days from zero to one at the end of the first year you call it one at the end of the second year you call it to you would have to get to the end of the tenth year to call it ten which means you have to get to the end of the twenty twenty year to call a tad how to live their lives to hang on hang on hang on when did the twenty first century start yeah in one thank you not know that no that scene then did the century the twentieth century only had two years and from nineteen oh one to two thousand that's how it's actually measured one nineteen oh one because the year nineteen hundred is the hundredth year of the preceding century you need a hundred years in total and total for that two nine hundred was not called or nineteen oh one was not the beginning of the twentieth century yes in nineteen oh welcome to the twentieth century the first nineteen oh one it's considered the twenty I know and it's wrong so the first century what was the first year of the first century I mean I I I agree one so with time started eight years zero that's a part of what century as far as the first center says right so at the end of the first year of the first century is year one so at the end of the hundredth year of the first century no so you're saying it's about to be so this is about to be the end of the ninety year of this decade correct because the decade actually started it two thousand eleven twenty eleven interesting get caught up on because it changes over to a different decibel of ten ten years a decade in the sense of numbers what we're seeing now two zero two zero but you're actually shorting a year SO one on the way when people turn twenty they're not in their twenties no there in your twenties but they're not in there they would be installing your second decade not in the third decade I have not completed when they tried one a year they didn't stay then starred in one at they started in zero yeah at the end of their first year they started zero solid they weren't alive at zero that's right but at the end of their first year to get the first birthday right they know that a live one year hi there already one year into their first decade not what no but I'm saying when they turn twenty they've been amassed twenty years you have to have twenty call they were masked twenty one haven't they no but at twenty they've they've they've amassed twenty you get your birthday episode twenty they have twenty four years of life we agree upon that at age twenty yes at least one we celebrate your twentieth birthday right so they're beginning their third right but you have to have twenty four years to have two full deck is a what is that when you're considered but the in I'm I understand your question bonus time over time the so it it in terms of the calendar you have to have the end of one year to have a full year in other words you have to have ten years on the calendar for to be a complete decade if we go back to the beginning of the Roman calendar we had if we give the at the end of year one eighty D. is here one that we have to get to the end of year ten A. D. to have a complete decade and the numbers would have to remain consistent after that the first decade have to have ten four years you agree with that yes so at the end of so at the beginning of your tent you've lived ten years correct would you have your tenth birthday you have ten years in terms of the cat let's say you were born January first zero zero zero zero right at the it at January first can eight ten A. D. you will had ten years on earth you have to get in you have to complete ten years I'm so swimming right now no but I'm saying the took the ten years of your decade goals in to that ten year that one zero year you have to have all ten years you start your next decade January first eleven eighty the first year of the next decade but you're not counting the first year then I will see that's my point if your call that that that is my point if your not counting the first year yes if the first take it only has nine years then yes this is the end of the decade but that means the first decade didn't have ten years you're not counting that's all I'm so it's arbitrary he shows you all wrong and I'm right now no it's very specific this verse because a decade has ten years and the first decade is still in decades was still must have ten years so then you're saying the Lakers haven't won a championship in almost a decade because their last championship was two thousand ten right this is what it what it was actually last whose last decade I suppose like that lodge as opposed to the clippers who've never even going to the third round the playoffs in history no like hers two days ago and it still won't matter really seizing game yes well not June all the white bring it up at all well I was just her fans from the top okay they would never talk about yeah it's not giving something clipper fans talk about because the second they do try to shut him down yes because parental brother we agree we're greening wait CNN made a video that stop right there you said CNN the Senate stop right there they said it okay they believe and they're wrong and and a lot of you will find a number of news reports saying that it's the end of the decade it is the same with white two case and that was the end of the century for the same reasons yeah that was a scary time all right that was a scared it wasn't the end of the century because nineteen ninety nine twenty two thousand was not it was actually the beginning of the hundredth year of that century and said you need to have all yellow braided the twenty first century starting in two thousand one I get that makes you down a nurse I was right down to the land yeah a good for you that's right and a leg and still have sixty championships party okay mended anybody on the team now that's it that's one one lebron James yes as a Laker at all what's the point another one I have a question you're talking about the Lakers is there anyone on the clippers who's who's won a championship on the whole doc rivers of one but that was awhile often yeah yeah except you're not you can't you now you can use my argument above say but what does your email about Lakers can be leased one of camping ship in your lifetime single player on the team is one one as a Laker so now letters had not won a championship not yet not yet I mean well you can say not yet yeah but there is history that we can get or the clippers can say not you're lucky we have to go to a Michael crusher break.

"The I heart radio app this the Tim Conway judicial Kelly in for ten the twenty is almost here and of course with every new year we have to talk about some of the new laws which are going to impact you and me okay alright here we go here we can we have this discussion already yes we did and we ended it and I was right we just leave it at that in twenty twenty Michael closure yes Sir it's gonna be a lot of changes across guns healthcare education gonna go through a little bit of everything including criminal justice let's start with guns employers co workers and teachers will be able to ask for a gun violence restraining order against a person beginning in September no longer leaving the gun seizures only to families and law enforcement let me give you some more specifics if a judge agrees one your gun seizures from those who are thought to pose a danger to themselves or others could be extended annually for up to five years that you may remember only Californians age twenty one or over will be able to buy a semi automatic rifle and starting in twenty twenty one all Californians will be limited to buying one of the rifles per month in addition a person banned from having a gun in another state can no longer legally possess one in California I'm quite sure that's all going to inspire all sorts of debate in the new year I'm just letting you know it's coming it's here it's the law in California starting twenty twenty in health care state officials will create a new standardized form doctors will fill out for parents who want a medical exemption from vaccinations for their children doctors will be required to use that form and parents must submit existing exemptions to the state in twenty twenty one doctors with five or more exemptions written after January first of twenty twenty as in you know soon as the new year starts will have their actions reviewed by the state so they can't just do it **** nilly they can't do it for anyone and everyone there will be a numerical also a ceiling on what they can do or they will come up for review as far as birth control women seeking birth control pills through apps such as the one offered by plant Planned Parenthood will no longer have to participate in video conferencing with a health professional for a prescription I'm not sure what that means that you don't have to get a writ prescription or you just don't have to participate in the video conferencing or both that kinda reads funny food handlers will be required to take training on major food based allergens those who seek a state issued for hammer card will have until the end of next year as in twenty twenty to do so the law was prompted by the case of a Sacramento area girl whose peanut allergy unfortunately led to her death at a summer camp back in twenty thirteen in the field of education still school districts will have more power over the creation of new charter schools in their communities and new teachers at these charter schools will be required to hold the same credentials as those in traditional public schools here to for you may remember that some teachers and charter schools no right or wrong they did not have the same credentials in many times it was easier to get a job at a charter school as opposed to a traditional school within the school district and with the requirement being phased in over five years for existing teachers so another words if you are already a teacher at a charter school you too will have to come up to speed as it were and get the requisite credentials to remain in your position children whose parents have unpaid school lunch bills won't be denied access to at least an alternate meal selection and can't be shamed or treated differently than other students I'm not exactly sure how they're going to enforce that is far shaming are treated differently students up to fifth grade can't be suspended for disrupting school activities or willful defiance effective with the school year that begins in August let's stop right there I'm going to say that again students up to fifth grade can't be suspended for disrupting school activities or willful defiance I don't understand that and I say that as a kid who suspended prior to fifth grade I don't understand what then are you supposed to do with the student who was willfully disruptive defiant in a classroom environment are you supposed to keep the child very supposed to keep the child in the office for the whole day you can't send them home you can't send her home what are you supposed to do I understand why they want to try to do this and as the child of two educators I just don't see what the alternative is or how this actually addresses the problem or lessons it sixth seventh and eighth graders will also be protected from such suspensions for the next five years what are we supposed to do with these bad **** kids then you can't suspend them I understand where you might make the argument that you can't expel them because they need to be in an education environment but there has to be some sort some sort of response if you will some sort of consequence two students were acting out so if you're not going to spend on it what are you gonna do you just gonna leave many environment still throwing rocks at the teacher stills throwing a spinning spit balls at the teacher and we see in the videos of how it has gotten violent in many schools between students and teachers on the grade school level if you're not going to suspend them what tools then are available for teachers and administrators to not only protect the teachers but to protect other students this is going to backfire and they're gonna be a lot of incidents which we're going to have to talk about here on KFI and beyond in California for the year twenty twenty on the job business is planning to use independent contractors will be subject to new restrictions on the situations in which they can do so and more those workers will now be considered employees this is a direct result of that uber lawsuit is far as with the going to be ten ninety nine contract employees a weather going to be actual full W. nine employees the minimum wage as we were kind of alluding to when we're talking about homelessness earlier the minimum wage in California goes up by a dollar large employers must pay at least thirteen dollars an hour while businesses with twenty five or fewer workers can pay twelve dollars an hour the minimum wage will peak at fifteen dollars an hour in twenty twenty three in that time hopefully you can get a better job than minimum wage employers can no longer require current or new workers to agree to arbitration as a condition of having a job loss currently being challenged in court by the California chamber of commerce California to take out payday or installment loans of twenty five hundred to ten thousand dollars will see interest rates capped at no more than thirty six percent thank goodness because that was ridiculous thirty six percent is ridiculous even twenty nine percent on credit cards is ridiculous but you know if you're in a desperate spot and you're taking out a loan and they're going to charge you upwards of forty percent or more you'll never pay that loan back because you're already in financial dire straits but that's the whole point that's how they get you and that's how they keep you that's also compared to the much higher rates some of these consumers often with few other ways of borrowing money have paid in the past that's how they end up with these payday loans because banks more times than not won't even loaned them the records of money that they need to get out of that specific situation be a short term or long term and also food service workers must wear gloves made of something other than latex which causes allergic reactions in some customers what is supposed to wear like leather leather gloves then we're like I don't know what it what is the meat of concrete what other gloves can you wear them like latex as far as handling food Michael closure I'm trying to think well on paper mache they don't all have to be latex do that give it some growth are not latex because of HRG Robert yeah than rubber rubber a thin rubber okay maybe that's it then this seems like I are both rubber with you Mike is more porous in nature item now it's time I'm not going to wash your hands yeah that too that too but I would rather have gloves on the hands you could you wash your hands then pick you know that if you come back all right me you can do that no no no no no up one day outside the store my wife used to work for a business which will go from restaurant and restaurant to tell them how to get the requisite make make the requisite changes to the get that a in the window right and tell em this is against the law you can't do that you can't have food on the floor you're supposed to have you got the the workers were this that the other and so forth all the stories all my goodness you don't want to know what goes on a restaurant you just don't want to now yeah because you won't be able to eat there anymore more on the new laws in changes which are coming to California when we come back this is the ten come we junior show well Kelly here KFI am six forty Michael close with the news LA metro Orange County transit Long Beach transit are all offering free rides for new year's eve a federal court says it's going to block a Republican proposal requiring photo ID's to vote in North Carolina and Heineken giving away free.

B. escort right yeah they're just until the roadways completely clear we haven't had any updates that started a couple hours ago so we'll we'll check on that make sure they're still still doing the escorts yeah it says well just be safe out there and data of course Disneyland is now stop selling tickets third Max capacity today so if you're in congrats god speed you're not in well and I'm gonna happen for now and coming up after this show from two to six Harvey Levin yes that Harvey Levin of TMZ is filling in for John can knock a one message all right back to a fun story so main is letting drivers go crazy with custom vanity plates and why are we talking about me because if you've ever applied for a custom vanity plate there are typically quite strict rules on are the kinds of language that you can use on those on those license plates basically anything that could be potentially be offensive or a or die G. as as some government officials set up aren't allowed but main has now ease the restrictions on it and it started back in twenty fifteen is when the they began changing the law but now it's really come into effect it is essentially they changed it because there were complaints from a woman in Maine that she was denied the license plate B. Q. Q. B. S. on a breast cancer awareness plate she said this is not right I want to pay pay the fee to be able to do this to increase awareness for breast cancer so that ended up losing the rules of course it's also revenue generator from the state so let's just do a couple of these plates up one by Kathy Kathy Breton I she's a twenty nine year old factory worker received or Toyota tundra the K. R. Z. E. T. C. H. on her Toyota tundra but that was her first choice her first choice was C. R. Z. B. T. C. H. yep and the main also I had one nasty H. zero we can why would people put that they are a C. R. C. B. T. C. H. under license plate as they have other issues truth in advertising so there's a couple a couple more of these tags only cost twenty five dollars a year so it's not like they're particularly expensive another one is a I don't know if I can say this can I say this it said I don't know bad A. S. S. can I say that on the year sure yeah okay bad a SS one of got to pee and which is maybe the state's surgeon and vegan AF is another one might might the two favorite ones I saw this story was a twenty eight year old college student who's a bartender who says he doesn't drink applied just on a lark for the name and was granted the license plate drunk yeah yes that's a that's a ticket waiting to happen I would I would imagine they're going to just be watching closely no but honestly my favorite one is FFT as in Karachi is it does say I think it's because hopefully feel it's Saturday yeah I remember when that truck misspelled the word coffee even trump's misspellings get a lot of news attention it was a big mistake it was a big mistake yeah it's that I actually would I support the things it dries revenue you get to have a little bit of fun I think it might be a reflection poorly on the driver but Hey to each his own well like for their cursor barely touch yeah that that one yeah right right that I said array of owls did you did coming up we're gonna get into nine news nuggets you need to know I'm John Thomas filling in for Gerry and Shannon on KFI am six forty live everywhere on the I heart radio app any kings got the news California's Christmas snow storm has left nine inches of snow in the high desert and feet of it in the mountains page Taylor in Palmdale told NBC four she made a pile of snow as tall as yourself then it is yes No caused major travel delays some drivers from right what got stranded in the calling pass for more than four and a half hours they finally open that up and so we're very excited and got all the way here and found out that the excitement was over mountain high ski resort in Wrightwood reports he got three feet of snow in twenty four hours snow summit in Big Bear got a foot.

"Online. I really enjoy that show. And I said, I think it is. Yeah, I think it is. And he says, well, could you find out how to do that? And, and on my computer can you show me and bookmark? How to find that show every morning. I'd like to listen to that. And I said, yeah. And he said, when does he start up there? And I think he starts Monday. I think it's pretty close is okay, says, can you come over Sunday and show me how to listen to that show on Monday. And I said, yeah, I could do that. I said, you know this call originally was that I got. Is this is? I know he says, congratulations, but I really liked by and he was genuine. He's a genuine fan or was it genuine fan of that show, and it was really moving because Brian suits, showed his daughter, Reagan, right, lady. Yes. Reagan showed him showed his daughter, her all the, the, the door, fun golf, and the, and the and the sketches and the Disney movies and his daughter, who's, I think ten or eleven. Yes. Became a huge fan of my dad's, and he said, it's it was going to be very difficult after school to tell him that he passed away that crazy sweet because of the internet, it now goes from generation to generation to generation of kids looking at Dorf on golf. I remember you know, Aaron bender you said you were fan of door. Oh my gosh. The earliest memory. Have of laughing so hard that I would cry was when I was doing when with my grandfather watching Dorf on golf that's wild and I mean, that's I was, maybe what four five six years old? I don't know somewhere around there, but I can paint the picture in the living room. I knew exactly that entertainment center looked like this. And the couch was like that. And I it was it was amazing to watch and then go from there. Nineteen eighty five I was logging on the internet and YouTube watching the dentist. I just opened up an Email from somebody who said Carlos Nunez, who said that he was a fan of the Carol Burnett show in your dad. He says, but my kids, even knew your dad and we're big fans watching the DVD's of Carol Burnett and Dorf and SpongeBob. When my daughter was six or seven maybe eight we're driving, and she had four or five friends in the car, Bridget cocoa crews, I remember the other kids names, by their about five or six of them. I think Carly was one of them. And, and they said my daughter said dad, what is what did Papa do again? What shows and I said, the carbonate show, none of the kids knew what it was. And they said what else said that Mikhail's navy. None of the kids knew, you know, they went that way, NAT away billion dollar Hobo. Apple dumpling gang now. Oh, I am db. Yeah. Just the whole run of head shaking. And then I said, oh, and he and he doesn't character barnacle boy, on SpongeBob squarepants, and this was their reaction. Did quiet and one of them turned to Sophie and said your dad, your grandpa is barnacle, boy on SpongeBob squarepants. They didn't say a word for twenty minutes. Awestruck. This whole career was dwindled down to a character recurring character on Nickelodeon, that happened with one of the interns, to, because they were posting some stuff. Isn't that crazy on, they're watching the sketches and laughing and everything, and then they come to SpongeBob and they're like, he was barnicle that's gone. And you look at at SpongeBob and Instagram they posted Tuesday. We're sad to learn Tim Conway way, the legendary voice of barnacle boy, it's been liked by two hundred thirty thousand users. Wow. Which, you know. In the world of Instagram with the one hundred fifty million followers for Selena Gomez and others. We understand two hundred and thirty thousand people, but it's a lot we we're we're looking around at likes that maybe reached three hundred. Right. Exactly. All right. Here's the rest of the Howard Stern interview now with all the Fs and S's edited out. I hope that's why I say. But if you're on some local market, my dad, you said to me because I don't care when you're on the radio. You never know who's listening and you gotta do a great show every day because someone could be driving through remember that day. I did a show down in Hartford. I told you about past always driving through who I think, Steven Spielberg. No. But you always try to do your best, and look rose. Marie saw him that day. And yes, he thought he was good. And she actually hooked him up and managed him for a while. No, no kidding. Yeah. I didn't know that. But always like them on the couch Burnett show. And then we had them on the show in the eighties in the nineteen eighties believe it or not. Yeah. And got a chance to talk to him a bed. And you know, the crazy thing about that guy. He was so funny, but they Hollywood or the writers or whoever it is that puts these things together, even you can blame him. They couldn't not a blame, but they couldn't figure out how to take him as a supporting actor make him the lead guy he was on. I think he was on McCain's navy to that. Mikhail's navy was his first big breakthrough. Yeah. And he'd come on. He'd be really funny. But when they try to give him his own show, it never became a hit. Right. They didn't know what to put him in how to package him some guys are package guesses supporting actors and you know what there's no crime in that. I think that's very cool. Career also has to do with the packaging, I mean you could create a whole show where the side. Guy was really the star of the show. But these other people were there, they kept trying to make him the lead guy. Yeah. Well, anyway, Rushton peace, Tim Conway. You know. No. Funny. Really funny guy liked him. I'd also like to thank Mark Thomson. Know he came in here on Tuesday with very short notice and did four hours of a show that I couldn't have done. And so I, I really appreciate it. And Mark Thompson is a very emotional guy, and he left me a message, and he couldn't even get through the message that he left me. But bender bellio angel and Mondo. I can't thank you guys enough for taking over here, last three nights, and seamlessly making it sound like you know, like we had prepared for this forever, and it wasn't. It was I knew over the last two years that my dad wasn't well. And it was tough because I didn't want to bring everybody down with, you know, daily updates and stuff like that. And in the last week, I knew that his feeding tube was removed. But I didn't wanna come in here every night. With Debbie Downer and saying, you know, I might get a call any minute. So I try to just, you know, this is a perfect distraction to come in here every night for the last two years, but especially for last week and, and not have to think about it, and, and it's an a tremendous relief to because over the last two years, every time my phone rang, whether it was Christmas or new years, or thanksgiving or Sunday or Monday from my sister. I always knew that could be the call. And it was really it was a tremendous sense of, of, of, of weird relief. After that happen where I could sleep now without the phone being on. And when it rang, I didn't jump and sweat, and get nervous. I knew that it couldn't have been, you know, the worst news because I already had heard that. So. I really appreciate guys doing that was awfully and I listened to all four hours Tuesday night, and I started listening like at two AM, and I was up to about four thirty listening to whole thing. Really, really a cool trivial, I really can't. Thank you enough Arbor. Live on KFI more.

"Island, New jersey are the least sexiest. Where does California stand? We're going to talk more about that in a few minutes. Alright. Actor comedian Tim Conway died at the age of eighty five it was announced yesterday. What a great great comedian. He was Kilburn net. Says that Conway was a guest on her show for the first nine seasons. Did you know this? He was a guest for nineties. He only signed on full time for the last two seasons. The final two, and he had a profound impact in the show. She called him the funniest man she ever knew here's Carol Burnett in an interview she described how Conwy would make fellow actors laugh during these live skits on her show, especially Harvey Korman, the first time, I remember very clearly when they did the dentist sketch. That was just absolutely Harvey was a prisoner in the chair, and Tim was a new dentist just gotten out of dental school and Harvey was first patient. Well, Tim winds up and this wasn't in the script. Tim added. This once we were on the air taping front of the audience, the crew didn't know what was. Going up poor Harvey was helpless. Tim started shooting himself accidentally with the novacaine any chunks in hip, and then he could walk and then he shot in the hand. And he couldn't move. I Harvey was just destroyed Harvey was crying in the chair during the skit. I mean, do you remember that one one of their classes on with Tim Conway, and he said that actually came from a real life of bent when he was in the military to a militant an army dentist ended up shooting. The novacaine not only through his cheek but into his own hands into the doctor's hand. I know that you you met Burnett caravan when she was here, and I want to talk about that in a second. But first I want to play one more clip because she said Conway often would just go off script. He just make it up on live TV. And no one onstage had any idea where he was going often thought that I should have had some investment in depends because nobody. Could be with Tim and keep a straight face. Once he got on a roll he would do things that we're never. So he would do everything perfectly in the dress rehearsal, which we would tape and then he would ask the director. Did you get everything? Dave Dave did. And he said, okay. So then we would let him do whatever he wanted on air, and that was always gold. So you met her when she was here. She was did a performance here. And she took you a from the audience and people had asked her about Tim Conway 'cause they hurt he had been ill. And I just I had to respect how much she respected his privacy. She talks a lot about his professionalism, and what he did in the show and her her great love for him. But he was very private, man. And she respected that you know, as his good friend. It was sweet to see doing the last night. He Johnny Carson. We're very tight as well. And Conway was from Ohio. And then Carson Nebraska couple, mid west boys, so loss really is. Was he funny? I don't know if you watch those clips, but today that might be all the watch on YouTube. They are laugh out loud. Funny. I remember Tim Conway from kale's navy,.

You know, we talk about this charm or this merciful quality had and he he did, you know, I think you hear it as people call in and try to describe all these different characters and all these different vehicles that he was in. And he just. And then he had enduring characters, right? Like, the Mikhail's navy ensign engine Parker is it is just one of those characters. So funny. I mean, he just where he just isolates one part of his personality, and is able to be so funny and just right up in the in the face of authority, right whose captain Binghamton on Mikhail's navy. Joe flynn. Who plays sort of the heavy to him. And and of course, I mean, these we've been talking about them all night the sketches on Carol Burnett. They will live on on and on. Maybe there's a I was watching sketch earlier, we does the voice, and, but but some of it is the voice in some of it is the premise and some of it is the physical, and you just feel like it loses. Something if we try to bring too much so what we try to do is give you a little bit of across section and share our memories. And then play of course, mostly Tim talking about his dad here on the show. And it's not just going to be tonight. Because I mean, this this tribute will go on it's not just tonight. And you know, we think about. We think about zofia, and that's the grandpa the the grandkids are the ones who Tim was most concerned with today when I spoke to him. It was that that he was concerned with show. I'm sure that he'll share thoughts when he returns. And it is you know, we all have heavy hearts about this. When we've tried to be a beat when we can. And we've all had struggles with frankly tonight, but all of you who've listened and all of you who supported Tim Conway junior and by extension. Tim Conway have helped to keep us going tonight. "Tim Conway junior show Kellyanne for ten KFI AM, six forty more stimulating talk. And if you've listened to me or the Mokhele show, you know, I love politics. It could be local it could be the national agenda. I love it all very passionate about it. I'm always interested to hear wide and varying distinct voices who are equally passionate. So that's part of the reason why I want to bring on Travis Allen, you know, him as former California state assembly member, representing the seventy second state assembly district and former candidate for governor. Now, he is a candidate for chair of the California state Republican party Travis Allen assemblyman, Alan thank you for coming on tonight. How you doing, sir? I'm doing great. Thanks for having me on. I'm curious. To know. I followed your political career you've always been energetic you've been enthusiastic, but how do you think that can or will transfer to the party writ large here in California? Well, I'll tell you right now that enthusiasm is going to have transferred to California Republican party. If you were paying any attention to the November elections Republicans got wiped out in the state of California lost half of their congressional delegation. So there's fifty three congressmen California. There used to be fourteen Republicans. There are now only seven in addition their numbers are now so low in the state legislature. They're not a two thirds supermajority democrat position, call it a democrat negative majority. That means the Democrats have seventy five percent of the seats in the state legislature. So you know, when people tell you the Republican party is dead, they're wrong. But I'll tell you it's on life support right now. And the party is going to really have to get its act together to motivate, you know, in rebuild by Republicans for Republicans to have any chance to compete in the twenty twenty presidential election cycle. There's something you didn't mention, but I'm quite sure, you know, in terms of. Of party registrations here in California, Republicans lag behind not only Democrats, but declined to state no party preference. It doesn't seem like they're the merging generations are registering to become Republicans. What is your plan to help reach those individuals who may not have chosen Republicans in the past or who may not have considered them up until this point. Well, a few things because it's a very good point. In a lot of the media's and making lately say, look, you know, Republican numbers have steadily declined in California. There's now about twenty five percent of the state registered Republican about forty percent registered democrat and the restaurant party preference. And you know, the answer is actually very simple Republicans has not done statewide voter registration in years. And if you hold you statewide voter, registration your numbers are going to decline. It's as simple as that you have to put your money where your priorities are. Now, there's a corollary to that though. Which is the governor's race the candidate Republicans for Ford actually, only got about thirty eight percent. That was the worst election result since nineteen seventy eight however can take a look at the last twenty years of governors races from nineteen ninety eight to two thousand eighteen every single governor candidate between thirty eight percent to forty two percent, with the exception of courses for tiger who won with forty six five percents. But all the rest republics got thirty forty two. Let's split the difference. Forty. That means over the last twenty years, even though the voter registration gone against Republicans dramatically. Still picking up about forty percent of the statewide vote for the top marquee races. What that means we need a lot of people are still voting Republican, even if they're not calling themselves Republican to what we need to do is we need to get out there and actually make that brand a worthwhile brand again. In front of the California voters that are real. They have the right solutions for California, and the people actually get out there and vote for this is where the party has not been doing for years. And that's exactly what we need to do. I've noticed also that in this recent election in twenty eighteen in November a lot of those races in Orange County, which some have now dubbed as blue county. We're very competitive nature. In other words, the distance is not that much or that significant. How do you go about finding future candidates, which can either close the gap or change the conversation for Republicans? Well, let me give you an example Antonio Sabado junior and another guy Omar Navarro JR. Ran a Los Angeles County and a couple of congressional races. We were actually heartily heavily out stamped by the Democrats and registration was dramatically out of their favor in those districts because of how the district you've been drawn by of course, you know, the state the state commissions, and you know, these people although they didn't win the races were. Phenomenal candidates in the phenomenal messages to be elevated to light to levels of leadership within the party. So everyone in California can understand that. It doesn't matter where you come from. It doesn't matter. What your last name is what the color of your skin is what your ethnicity is Republican values are solutions that work. You know, we take a look at the state of California, we have the highest poverty in the nation with highest homelessness, which of course, it massive problem in Los Angeles. We have one of the worst education systems and among the highest taxes every single one of these problems. There is Republicans solution for all we need to do is elect more Republicans. They look more like California. So we can have a seat at the table. And so all California's actually balancing their state government and hear both sides of the story. Let's drill down. Now, you mentioned homelessness you've mentioned education and poverty. Let's start first with homelessness. What do you see as the Republican answer or solution for that year? The root cause look, you know, it's it's not just people don't have the home. It's an eighty percent of them suffer from some sort of substance abuse or mental issue, and we need to change the laws in California. So the state has the ability to actually take care of these people get them off of the streets. Unfortunately, the ACLU is stepping in city after city ensued cities that have tried to clean up their streets. Now were you seeing downtown LA, there's a six block radius around, you know, fifth and wall where you essentially can't walk. It looks like a third world country. There's us on the streets. I mean, literally typhus people are dying open drug use open prostitution. And and this is the issue is this is not how we as society. These are not our values. It not only do we not wanna see it as California citizens, but it's not fair to those people that are homeless that we're letting them sit out on the streets and continue to not only ruined their lives. But everything around the state has to have the ability to go and get these people to help that they need. Put them into whatever sort of mental health facilities and in centers that we need to do to actually take care of the problem. It's not enough to put a roof over somebody's head. They need to make sure they get the substance abuse counseling, health counseling, and these are the sorts of solutions that Republicans have this is exactly why we need to be elected. But as you know, there's almost no Republicans elected LA county and the problems only getting worse. You are clearly articulating both the problem and your proposed solution. But at the same time as state party chair. You would need to be able to have candidates who can also clearly delineate. What is the problem and the solution? How do you go about identifying those members, and how do you make sure that the state is providing the state parties providing the necessary resources to support them look leadership comes from the top? You know, if you take a look at every great movement from, you know, civil rights on down Martin Luther King was the face of the civil rights movement. But, you know, even though we do the best speeches last fifty years. He wasn't the only guy. Why not not by a long shot? But he was a figurehead. That's what California needed a strong leader has a proven ability to actually rally the base bringing people to the party, you know. So when I when I talk about, you know, the reach that we have I had half a million followers on social media at join Travis Allen, whether you're on Facebook or Twitter Instagram twenty thousand individual donors fifty thousand statewide volunteers. This is this sort of broad based support to the party needs to see. And and the question is how do we get people elected as Republicans in California? It's simple. We register more voters across the state. We put a precinct captain on every single street in every single city across California. And we actually give them the resources they needed to county level. So they can support their local elections. And as soon as you start electing city council members waterboard numbers county supervisors, of course, eventually all that will feed up into the state level. And finally, we'll get back to some sort of balance here in California assemblyman Allen, I'll. Definitely want to continue this conversation. But I'm up against a news break. Can I get you to hold over for just a few minutes? So we could talk about poverty, and one of my most personal issues education. Love you. I'll be here. All right assemblyman, Travis Allen, former California state assembly member, representing the seventy second state assembly district, former candidate for governor governor. And now he's a candidate for chairman of the California state Republican party Travis Allen joins me more in just a moment. This is the Tim Conway show. I'm o'kelly's KFI AM six forty bender LA's released an earthquake warning app that could get people several seconds to drop covering hold onto something before an earthquake strikes.
