"Hey everyone today's guest is the brilliant and Funny Jason Biggs who you probably know from the American pie movies. Orange is the new black and the new the Fox series outmatched before we begin the episode. I want to read a couple of your letters. The first is from Charlene to Britney who we called on our last episode with Josh Gad. And here it is dear Brittany. I am step mom with a high conflict biological mom to an relate so much to your testimony even though I was really good to my stepson's mother and helped helped her whenever possible. I never got any kindness or even basic politeness such as a hello then it got much worse the closer to my stepson. WHO's a second love of my life? The more hostile hostile she became toward me. She would tell my stepson awful lies about me and that he was not allowed to love me. She even tried to convince him that he was allergic to my perfume. When time she tried to sue Sumi for harassment? After I called her repeatedly the day I took my stepson. Her son to the hospital she was on vacation. Despite the efforts she made to get in between my marriage and my relationship chip with my stepson. None of it worked. I was just to Brittany that. She tried to ignore jade's mom and block her out of her life as much as possible. Focus on your stepdaughter and your partner this woman and we'll keep poisoning and bowling you as long as you that her there are a lot of stepmother support groups on facebook. That have helped me through this. I really suggest you look into them. Being in a step mom is extremely hard. But it's also very rewarding. Hopefully you and your partner will get through this one last thing. Maybe consider parallel parenting. Instead of co-parenting parenting. A lot of parents have found success in this method. I wish you good luck and send lots of Love Charlene. Thank you so much charlene and thank you again for your call. Britney I can only imagine how you both must feel. I so appreciate you helping each other hearing these stories and sharing your own. It's so valuable to anyone living through similar experiences. Thank you guys. This next letter is from tiffany to Elizabeth. Who we called with Lizzy Caplan? Hi Ana I really enjoyed the podcast with Lizzy Caplan in your both such hilarious strong women. Thank you so much. Tiffany tiffany continues. I so relate to Elizabeth as I had an extremely similar situation relation with my most recent ex. We were together for nearly four years with the first year being what I would consider normal specifically regarding sex after that first here we basically just became good buddies who lived in the same house. I completely understand Elizabeth's anxiety over wanting to end the relationship especially with truly wanting to keep the friendship going while from an outsider's perspective. It seems obvious to move on. When you're in it it's agonizing to know that you will most likely be hurting someone you love and care about and at the hurt may cause awesome to no longer want your friendship? I had a very unique situation where I got a job out of the country and he decided not to join me so it was like a break-up without breaking up I always I wonder if and how I would have ended it should I have stayed would have had the courage I will never know I would like to say that it just gets harder the longer you wait I still truly love and care about my ex and hope he finds someone beautiful with whom to share his life. Elizabeth should know that she deserves to be happy and that just doesn't seem to be the case with her current fellow A girls got needs. I sincerely hope they can stay friends. Much love to you on Tiffany. Tiffany thank you that is so wise and Elizabeth thank you so much as well and listeners. You Guys I love you. Thank you. Please help the unqualified community. "Totally. I think the edge computing Story something that's arose when people realize the complexity of it scenarios is right to you. I wanted to basically get the data from that sensor and do something out of it so that the first reflex is to say I'm gonNA connect device put all the data nine the cloud from these sensors and do my very challenge by infinite resources that have in the cloud but then suddenly you're saying wait a minute this device is connected through a wireless connection. It's on the moving object and I'M GONNA lose connection Anita locally stored data and then eventually you know delay the upload due to cloud and then came a second level which was okay. This system is critical. Now that I know I have a way to extracting sites and take action like for example connecting. An anomaly is gonNA is GonNa Happen on my let's say conveyor belt and because I have a vibration patterns are starting to show up well when you're uh-huh connected with a very good data connection to the to the Internet. She contended either. have something analyzing that data detecting anomaly that it it has been detected. Sorry and and then you know indicate down on the on the field that the edge that something is GonNa fail in about a minute an hour a day and take take action but this infrastructure might not be that well connected but the gravity of the problem is still there and so the idea is to say how about we distribute that intelligence across the IOT solutions. It's no longer about having dumb sensors and a very smart crowd it becomes about hot. Y Mak- solution ended distributes. The intelligence and robotics is a good example of that you distribute some of that intelligence so that if something fails the still the rest are still works. That's right you you could have two robot all the rest of works. It's still walks and so on. So you definitely want to have that distribution then means you need to run analytics six at the edge on these devices that your member are optimized for a specific environment that are optimized running battery sometimes and consume less. And so you you need to be smart into way you're gonNA deploy manage update manage And and and and and trained that intelligence. You're you're you're putting on that edge to edge. Computing is developing as as a result of all the the the rule bumps that Iot presents because you are not always connected. And you want to distribute for many different reason beyond connectivity security privacy You WanNa you WANNA distribution intelligence Is Your iot not edges is has been developed with that in mind once again. It's a platform. It's something that lets customers. Build their out edge intelligence. I edge last two Monitor host and monitors said of workloads GONNA develop and train into cloud onto these Gateway we or what we call now edged devices Bringing for the example of the conveyor belt that intelligent that lasted detected nominees as close as possible to that object to that censored generating that data. So that you can stop it immediately or eventually interact with the operator locally without the need to be connected without without the data to be stolen that delayed and see you can have for a back and forth through the cloud. It's a great opportunity to do a lot of really great things. Now that you described bribed now I have to ask you this little bit Olivier because in your report I noted that one in three projects apparently failed during this proof of concept stage and some of the typical reasons I noted that were these failures. Include implementation costs a lack of defined expected benefits to the bottom line. I mean when you look at all of these you know the skills gap and you sail that so I gotta ask is the best advice you would give to somebody who's paying attention we've got about three minutes left. Is it to really you know. Have a good strategy in place for proof of concept is it have the right money involved in here. What do you WanNa give so someone listening? What do they got to know so they get this right so I think people are now getting what they want extract from Iot they really want the transform their business they want to leverage and harness and leverage that data can be gathered so the first thing I would we command and a good friend of mine? Rob Tiffany Tiffany Is Is I think he came to the to your show a couple of times already. He's been in the IT space for longtime. He liked to advocate for simplicity explaining that. I'm not should be something simple. Get the data extract the inside take action start with something that is you know basics bike. You have a A sensor you gather the data you detect the threshold and you do something when that threshold is reached. That's the very basic nick. And and most common scenario you can see. Not The recommendation is to start simple. You know what you want to achieve. And the example of temperature sensor applies to many different similar examples You want to detect the to magically that. Something is going wrong or that. You need to take an action to change the process or whatever make sure that that this has value for you is automating that process something that you really need And if that's the case if the answer is clearly yes because it's GonNa reduce my cost is going to enhance. The quality of my product is going to allow me have more customers. This questions that are easily easily answered by a simple solution to start with Are the ones to aim at first. Start simple start. With the the basic scenario that leverages leverages the IOT devices and the analytics that are provided In in these out of the box services and solutions and build from from there. Build your skills as you go Grow and and don't try and solve it all from the get-go Don't try and develop everything yourself either. You're not an expert in developing cloud platforms if you're developing hardware In the consumer space for example so rely on existing platforms From proven companies that That I've been working at delivering That's complexity in something that is it's easy to use it as simple to implement that integrates into your existing infrastructure. I think that's that's the main advice. Start simple leverage what exists Make sure that it brings value. Don't do technology for the sake of technology And one more thing that is there to my heart Inject you see opportunity to that transformation to inject sustainability in restless ability into what you're doing Iot is a great implement. Implementation is a great community to this things. Right in terms of saving energy in Tim's off In making things worse when it comes to environment and so I really recommend mended. You take that of course unity To start simple and have the ability. Olivia Black Principal Program Manager Servicer IOT developer ecosystem. Mike saw Thank you for your time today okay listener. "Do you see that kind of enthusiasm that tiffany tiffany and dean have described playing on a national level against president trump when you look at these poll numbers that show he is losing in almost every not in almost every every single head to head with the top tier contenders sure. I can't think of a single poll that i've seen in the last say three months that hasn't measured registered record level enthusiasm interest in voting in the twenty twenty election across the board among democrats among republicans and among independents. It's only only natural of course that you're going to see more tangible enthusiasm on the side where you have a very active very vigorous democratic primary for the presence for the for president so there's there's enthusiasm across the board. I think all of us would agree. We're going to see record levels of turn out in twenty twenty twenty just like we saw record levels. Turn out in two thousand eighteen in the mid term. I would just add a note of caution and someone alluded to it earlier. It is early make no mistake any incumbent president would rather be ahead behind generic or a hypothetical opponent having said that as you guys know all too well it is very possible that you can see a national poll that shows a majority of popular vote support for the democrat and president trump still wins wins reelection the election because the electoral college we all know this is about ohio pennsylvania and the other battleground states. That's what we need to keep our eye on all right so to that point that you want to do you coming coming on that real quickly well. I just wanted to make the point that when you're trying to engage voters democratic primary to your point the callers who were calling in these are people who are paying attention like their political nerds like when you get to the general i do think you have to focus on people who haven't been paying attention who you know needs to be inspired and so i know we're saying invoked blue no matter who but it really does matter who because you have to find someone everybody you know younger people within the next stage and people are used to fill the biggest competitor competitor is barack obama he was this political wonder kin who came along and people want that again not every candidates going to give you goosebumps and you have to be open to to polish so jason i go back to the point and tiffany talked about black millennials a little bit and all the different diverse voters in the base of the democratic party. Do you see anything from republicans. Including this president that shows you some kind of outreach to try and win some of those voters once they get to a general election. We'll setting aside how much success that the president will have. I do know there've been several stories written about it recently that the president's campaign has a very concerted effort targeting african american voters particularly in swing states in in florida and georgia and the like whether there'll be success. I don't know it's critical with regard to the democrats chance for retaking the white the house that african american turnout increased dramatically in this next election and i think what a lot of people overlook that for republican national candidate running for president president just getting an additional one to two percent of the share of the african american vote makes a huge difference to the advantage of the republican to the detriment tremendous democrat..

"A good for the last three episodes kind of like a better thing or save it for you. I mean, I started getting into of the end, but then that lasts up so man that ending an ending. There's good and bad thing. Eddings rough areas some parts for me, I have not read the comic book, and I heard the buzz and we had already reviewed class do patrol. This was next unless I haven't done the entire season. We did pilot episodes, which is, you know, their weekly shows, and this one is different because you can watch all at once. And I really I had fun. This is like right up. My alley. I love when it's like kind of quirky wacky. It's like, it's very light. It's kind of like I read that somewhere. I love it. It's like, Wes Anderson and Tim Burton had an X men baby. I loved a lot of the musical scenes. I love the characters like the character driven nature of it. This is what really hooked me was like learning about these characters for same. With me. My favorites are number five and Klaus but six or seven he is Claus is I have it here. We will go through the characters in a second clauses. Number four. But I guess it has pacing issues some of the dialogues a little bit. If some of the there's too many secrets reveals the ending. I love the whole scene in the concert hall. But some of it was also kinda hokey, but overall dude, I was got time travel. It's got fucking weird powers. But it's really just a dysfunctional family trying to reconnect a linear straits like easy to digest story. On purpose. They kind of like don't tell you anything. They just they just kinda hint. That thing in like pogo never go into their. They never go into the fact that the father is probably alien, oh what really what in the alien. He was such a dick to them. So they don't go into the fact that there's other kids that most of them died. Well, first question is what happened to the other fucking thirty six. However. Died because their parents abandoned, the one them in the first place those kids over show later in the comic because there are kids with powers that are not of the second season. Like an X men like the brotherhood of evil mutants. I don't know for me that the the show stack itself with mystery after mystery after mystery to many mysteries for me just a little too many miss. You can't you can't base the whole show everything off of well, we got to figure this one. That's the biggest criticism that I heard that. Now, it doesn't matter anymore. It does matter they there was way too many. No payoff. Like lost racing. Fucking dangle something in but in front of you and they never intend to paid off. I got that exact feeling as well. But I read the comics. So I had a little bit more. I was like, oh, I remember this this is different. And all that does. That's how it goes. But like. The thing that I liked about it. Was that they really went for it. In a lot of ways they went for like, the most silliest shit in just committed to it. I don't know if it worked half the time, but they went for and I respect that for it. Yeah. Through in whacky music us at every chance they could dance whole dance. Montage montage as all those Hazel and cha-cha just being completely over top one being played by marriage APL. Highs Clough's pop a boner getting choked out. Let's just make this as black comedy as possible. I think we're a load now, Debbie Gibson, dancing, Debbie. Gibson, tiffany. I forget one of us Tiffany Tiffany that dancy like one of the best I've seen in showed a long time. It would told her so much about their character. And it was in the first episode goofy. Fuck it pulls away like a Dollhouse. But so the characters are all weird. Like, you got number one..

It's just a it's unconscionable. What happened to this wonderful, beautiful visual woman? And so we now know how this person identifies so by golly, this is a woman through and through as you'll see here at a minute G. She got a little upset because the the clerk called her the wrong thing. And and so then TV station went out and did a report. And here's what happened. Have you seen the rest of that viral video happened you like here in New Mexico says a transgender woman losing or cool when she says an employee at an Albuquerque video game store called her, sir. Instead of ma'am. News viewed more than a million times on YouTube, and it's getting many talking a lot of people have made fun of that woman for her. Stay right thing by defending her gender identity now on four she's telling her side of the story to KAI quarter. Ma'am. Ma'am, obviously seen by millions Tiffany more a transgender woman who recently started her transition yelling at an employee inside this Albuquerque game stop Moore says the cashier repeatedly called her sir, the gender pronoun, she identifies with ball. She was trying to return a game. She bought for her son. Mantle of you. Go, sir. You guys. Sir. Stomach for such. That's clearly woman. Right. How many how many women have ever said said that threatening voice? Yeah. Why don't we go outside, and you can show you a man show ya man. Like the point that happens all the time. Tiffany Tiffany was returning a game game son for son. She obviously gave birth to obviously. Well, look at her. I mean, the most lovely specimen of womanhood awkward for me to to look at her not give you I'll give you something to cry about you to want me to come over there. Give them to gripe out. Really now just looking at her what does exchange the game for sir, ma'am? Ma'am, sir. Member are ma'am, or sir, ma'am. Shumita wait a minute. What do you mean? You're gonna show me a surf you take me outside. I thought you were a, ma'am. I why do you want to why you want to show me, sir? All right. Let's there. Gone. So you concert. Kicks angry that point literally five or six times. Got me soaking angry, and I was causing the internet responding to the viral with means like superman, aquaman and macho man, tranny savage is a swing transgender that many defensive and derogatory is bringing so many big. It's Woodward local rapper isn't letting the tour she's using her found viral fame to raise awareness about the transgender community. And she even wrote her to get her message out there like you were people like you. We have kids we have parents brothers sisters and cousins, we're just telling catchy song. For how more handle the situation inside the store with that, expletive filled outburst. A whole lot better. You think, but you know, what I look back at it change a thing. I would do one hundred thousand times again, I would kick over that. Again, because actions justified. No, it was it was blatant. It was blatant and malicious mischief littering porter KO be. I witness news for the day bleeding and malicious hate because this person who clearly looks like a man, but identifies as a woman, and has recently started the transition has not completed the transition. The voice is man. Like, do we have to pretend like reality isn't reality? No. That was not that was not justified. So I'm currently serving as interim director of family programs have been in the national guard for thirteen years now. Wow. It's kind by fast. But I joined the guard is eighteen year old fresh out of high school. And I thought it was going to be one part of venture one part pay for college. But it turned into an adventure and more. So than I thought it was going to be. And you're going to stay for a while. I'm still here. I'm going to stay for a while. But say I never thought I'd make the military career. And I went to college in grad school have more of a human services type field. And then I was lucky enough ticket kind of several opportunities in my career where I was kind of bridging that gap between doing human services type stuff, but for the military and that landed me here over in family programs. So it's it's been a great wild ride the last year that I've I've been around. So captain, we're gonna talk about that in a minute. But we also have Tiffany Tiffany Leschi with us differently. You were here about two years ago. And we were talking about the medal of honor in some things events going on in town. Now, you're back in here. Talking about Minnesota state coordinator for the building healthy military communities. What world happen? Well, the convention came and gone and everyone survived and it was fantastic. And then I needed to find a new job. And and it had something to do with this wonderful Kuyper love her dearly. She approached me one day. And she said, oh my gosh. "And she never expected her grandchildren to go to college rose couldn't help her grandchildren with their homework, but she came up with a unique plan to make sure that they worked hard on their homework as As an an ally. ally in my mind. She never did that they would go to but she still used to make sure. She was encouraging them to stay. She never as to make them to any choice at the house is could concentrate on this. So she would cook. Make it Tiffany school. Focused school. Schooled. In case. They would have said, oh, no. We feel that exams because used to make us work at home granny. When I visited Tiffany at chancellor college. She got emotional when she talked about her grandmother. Yes. Branding. She has. She has great expectations as what I would do on your graduation day and stuff. I feel like crying. I asked me what it feels like now to be a role model for students back at her high school who are hoping to go to college. And they also that I feel like I can do And so that. that that can encourage them fit might spe data than disc being it clearly student take a good work and tell them that. Why do you think? Lot of girls don't realize that this is possible if they work hard enough. Yes. That is the issue of women being able to do that caused so most of them they look. They think they can do they think they deserve going to just want to get married did move on. Tiffany Tiffany is on her way, thanks to her hard work in high school, and thanks to her grandmother made her a dedicated student. What she does nixed. Is in her hands. But right now, she's working and she's making sure that she can finish school..

"Works. Just be like, okay. Simone, say Simone, Tiffany. Tiffany how much plastic bottles worth when you bring them to the recycling bin Tiffany. And I was like your mom like does. She it almost feels like that's her best friend. Yeah. Must feel like she makes out with her a little bit. When no one's around. You gotta really love their device. I think that's kind of scary. That you say something over the radio, and like sixty miles away something a computer is like I am here. Yeah. I am ready to answer any question that you might have here in this room would have sex with one of those robots given the opportunity try. I'd probably turn it. Absolutely, try it. Right. I think anyone who's. Pay whatever the prices to get one. Right. But if it came through here, and someone said take this home and review it I'd say, yeah. Like, okay. If you're being honest with yourself if someone left a sex robot at your house and then Amer pop out for bit. How long do you think you would take before your I think probably fifteen minutes quickly fairly quickly absolutely else's sex robot link and sturdy? Yeah. There are certain things that personally I have like these lines boundaries set up. Like, you know, when you're online looking at porn. There's all these weird things on the sides and even certain options video wise where I'm watching that. I don't want to. I just don't even don't wanna you. Don't wanna know you like it all want anything. So I don't I think that's what I mean. I know what you're talking about. You look at porn. You're like, I didn't know that was the thing. And what if it turns out to be my dad, you'll have to change my whole life and moved to Australia. Oh. Sex. Stuff's happening. Yeah. You want to become a pervert, I think you moved to Australia. That's that's now. From all the really perverted originates there. But I think people who are like, I don't want my family. Didn't know what I do. I'm going across the ocean. I think that's where it happens. Yeah. Yeah. Awfully small. These days is almost no where you can go. And there you're the American right actually, stand out more with Sarah. That was hilarious that you said, I don't know what I was actually the sex robot because you know, other people have sex with what do you think like when you're out of the bar your sleep with a virgin? With the robot. I can scrub the area. I borrow a fire hose, I really get to town like in Shashank, redemption after advice on there. But then I'm like using their what their robot tells their person like you are not as good as my last lover. Yeah. Look at my memory chip to see how slow your strokes are. So you're telling me came over his house with his date the robot, and he was like, hey, I gotta run to the store to pick up. Whatever I'm getting that robot pregnant, that's what I'm telling you like I did. Did Amy Schumer absolutely in a heartbeat. Nice. When you get one of those real dolls. Pretty. Oppressed by the. Craftsmanship is. I mean, that's what I my girlfriend. Saw me looking them online. I said, no, it's craftsmanship that I I absolutely. I wouldn't get one. I'll tell you because this is why. So we were shooting for the full release our podcast. We want to do some photo shoot. Right. So we got a big blow up doll. We thought. It'd be really funny. Right. So it takes a long time to blow up a blow up doll. I it's very exhausting. I don't know if this is just me talking here. But it was it's very tiring. So by the time, I blew it up. I didn't want to deflate it. Because I thought what if you take pictures again, I happen to have a cleaning lady coming by the next day. And I was like where do I put this thing? And I tried to check jamming in my closet, and then when I got home I found that God damage he rearranged my closet, which means she found this thing. And it was hidden. So I know she assumed ill FOX has. It was hidden. Yes. So with a with a real doll. It's just like it's too. You got a store that day and have a you can't have a girlfriend or a housekeeper? If you have a real doll. Right. But you need they need to make the real dolls the way. Like, those Jetson cars are so it kind of folds up into a suitcase. You know what I mean? Yeah. Why can't why can it be like a transformer like go back to being a bible? You just say like sixty nine. Like, you know becomes like a thing. Yeah. I think I just cracking. Any of you tech nerds out there? That's my idea, by the way, don't steal that. Now, they're stealing it. But it's nice. App now launched. There are so many words in this town now. This used to be like hippies having free love and the park. Now, it's just like nerds having love into a sock. You know, it's just it's just so googly out there this lady's a surgeon would you stop Permanente my girlfriend, bro? I'm checking her out, you handed me the picture. She's she's like no ring finger. Well, I mean because you know, that ringers she got a check prostate to that finger you want to get you to lose. Finger at your lose that ring up there. You're not getting it back put a glove on. I mean, you're not gonna lose international law. You lose your finger in an old man's. But that is his now law that my brother's a lawyer that he's looking at his long. Yeah. Well, he's got to do it. She's got to do your Abedin gal are these two together. Next time. He comes through here. Kidney. But I gotta say like you, look like the happy puppy. Fantastic. Get turned into a dog. There's no way she's breaking up with me, unless a she watches another comedian or be, you know. She she hears this radio spot. We're not ruining this'll be terrible. If she heard this because then she'd be like because you know, when you hear people question your relationship, you yourself like. You know, I never really looked into like that all this forward momentum. I think to pump the brakes. She just looks at herself in the mirror looks at her Cleveland. She's like these are pretty. Plump Dr knockers. That's we should've named the podcast doctor, Dr knocker telling you that's not a killer podcast is nice sorta reduce her to. Yeah. That's true. You wanna dis the smartest guy in the room? Now, she's fine with it. Now, she's brilliant. And that's that's actually what's so appealing to be with someone who's so smart because this is a dumb person, I like to feel like I've attached myself to a very powerful barnacle. Yeah. The greatest wail I've ever been suck. You. That's great. Well, I mean, pre congratulations. Thank you so much for the Amy Schumer, baby. That's on that. And for the attention. Fiancee situation. Thank you. Yeah. The wedding human. Absolutely not. But Sarah adventure. By whom I would love to have go because I'd love to see someone while I'm doing my vows Instagram unit. No doubt. This could you guys restart? The vows. I didn't get that on Instagram story. Sorry. He will also come back though and go they are poor. That was not a nice event that is true. Did you guys know human just got a lower back tattoo right over his butt crack. It says do it for the Graham. I.
