"A little bit of everything big reason why they don't have to switch because Tiffany Hayes is gonna get over that screen she's gonna get through it and she's gonna she's gonna cause illegal screens because of how hard she fights through her yeah Melissa Thomas yeah not only from how they fight through it but how they flop through it as well but they're gonna get those hey he said that enough he said hey to everyone flopping I love you I love flop I love flopping it's a skill I hope you practice it it's right and you know it is it's wrestling they do the same exact thing in wrestling you have to sell you have to sell getting hit you have to sell getting in basketball so floppers I love you but regardless Tiffany Hayes is she's just such an a great addition to what they want to do defensively and offensively I just like the way this team's made up and yeah they got a little bit worse talent wise without Jonquell but they may make a little bit more sense and and that may matter more in basketball yeah no that's true I just think it's intriguing when you can have so much size on the floor I mean outside of Natisha Heidemann at one point in the Mystics game here in DC I mean I think everyone else is six two and above you know and that that's just tough you know to create any any lanes to attack offensively and you know Washington wanted to to you know spread them out in their pick and roll actions and then attack and get some paint threes some drives and kicks but they weren't making those shots on the outside I think they were one for eight from three in the third quarter because Connecticut's so long and disruptive right they were there to close out with the stick arm and and really making it difficult in those paint three attempts by Washington and that's when they kind of opened the game up as well in the third quarter in Washington so I mean Rebecca Allen I mean she brings that professional experience that national team experience from so Australia she brings a toughness too I mean she's on the glass it's not just her ability to defend but she you know she could shoot the ball very well also and another floor spacer for Connecticut so I'm intrigued by the lineup and what they're able to present on the court so far in their three and no start I like it I like it and you know their defense is tough to contend with and I think you're going to see that really be something that they their hat on moving forward throughout the season for sure and look you know it's Stephanie White she's not new she's not new to this like she's a coach has a ton of experience and one thing she has a ton of experience is in building a great defense you know she did that in Indiana she was only there for a year she took them to the finals that year just for the record but like she she was a hand in that great defense and it's easier when you have a team of catchings but you got Melissa Thomas you got Tiffany Hayes you got DeWana Bonner that's a great defensive layout we'll see if they can keep it up um yeah they've had every year they've had injuries really take something away I want some health this year so everyone everyone stay healthy in Connecticut um I will not be going back to Connecticut under any circumstances though what happened I just didn't like it's hard to get it's hard to get there uh no offense to Uncasville but man I'm not going back there um I'm not casino guy and all the bars in the casino closed at like 11 so then it was just the casino and I was like okay so this is not we need if the Mohegan son wants to call me I have suggestions for what to do with your casino to make it to make it more fun business man Gabe I like it yeah I'll be a consultant and then I'll go back to Connecticut so let's talk about Washington a team I will be going to their stadium board yeah even though they want to charge me $20 for parking every game did you know this incident yeah let's see if you can get a media parking pass or something like that they don't they didn't offer me one all right I'm gonna ask regardless um Christy Christy you gotta understand I'm not you I've been there for a couple minutes man you know I go sit I just like how y 'all doing I mean yeah sometimes anyway but we'll get it but you know uh yeah Washington one and two one and two to start uh what what do you what have you seen that's kind of been one of the storylines so far in these first two games I actually mentioned it big one against New York at first huge felt kind of like honestly like an emotional outburst there um and then two losses to the team that it provides a lot of challenges for Washington now and before now and probably forever um so what what have you seen that's been like the biggest thing for you um I'm saying if you if you're looking at storylines I'm going at the top you know with Elena Della Don looking great yes looking great okay and I think that's that was the question going into opening weekend I mean even at media day how are you feeling are you healthy uh how's the back you know and it took you you know you were there it took like five or six questions before we got to her back you know we wanted to know about her as a person and everything else but at the end of the day you know she missed 11 games last year for load management because of her back surgeries and I just think that you know for her to say at media day I'm not planning on missing any games for load management this year like I'm going in like we're not you know spot checking like every two games no back -to -backs like she doesn't have any rules on when she's playing or not um so you know that that means that she feels great um obviously in the first three games I'll be at a one and two start we get it but she has looked fantastic physically and mentally um I know in that game on Sunday she was extremely frustrated because at six five it's not you know uh the bigger they are the harder you can hit them um so that was Shaq um can I say something that you that you can't say okay the refs during Sunday's game against I'm not a big refs guy I'm not saying this is why the myths are not you're not yeah I'm not a big rest guy I only complain about when they affect the game the flow of the game not when they make bad calls everyone makes bad calls I can accept human human yeah they were terrible I know there was only two of them but both of them yeah were awful Eric Thiebaud got a tech in like the first quarter I was like yeah he's right because he was right he got that first tech and it's one of the most impressive coaching performances I've ever seen for him not to get the second tech because there's no way I stay in that game there's no way I would have got kicked out I don't know how Natasha didn't get a tech not for lack of trying I think they were just tired of fighting everyone but uh that was all right that's all I want to say no mean I they did you know I was agreeing with you on the fact that there were only two officials one official went out um with I don't know an injury or something I don't know what happened so they didn't have a fourth official at the table which most times they do I was kind of it was kind of bizarre that they didn't have um another official to uh to step in to make sure that the had three officials carrying the game um so for it already to be frustrating and then to drop down to two officials it was quite something uh on the road for Washington but to hear Elena De La Don say you know I'm tired of being treated like a rookie you know with the hound being officiated and first of all I mean we've been around Elena De La Don you know I have from you know from Delaware even high school for her um but then you know to

"Points 12 boards like that was an amazing performance by her but that was just what she does right and even with the 45 points and that sounds gaudy and wow and everything like that I mean she was so methodical with how she just attacked every single possession how she wanted to like that game was played how she wanted to she wasn't disrupted that was what she wanted to do when she did it I mean that's just matter of fact but that's what she's been doing right and and to your point on the connectivity of the team like it just looked a lot better in the second game turns out you know they needed to get one game onto them I think yeah you know Washington's defense is really difficult to play against we'll talk about the mystics in a little bit but like you like you said like they really jammed her they got into her space in Washington and Indiana just doesn't quite have the personnel to do that you know instead of instead of having Sykes Cloud Atkins to throw around on the perimeter you know you're throwing around Lexi Hall and some of these other players in the offensive Lexi Hall yeah who actually Lexi Hall had a decent game Cardiff Brianna Stewart all things considered that's tough task it's a tough task and and so it's just like a different personnel situation but I also do think like they put her into the right spots where it's like hey Stewie you know hang out in the corner find your spot when you need it they let her run some pick and rolls still with Jon Qualan like I think that's going to be great I think the the inverted pick and rolls that they'll probably get into with Slute or Sabrina setting screens is also going to be amazing and Slute and Sabrina were also like they're not going to get as much credit in this game I thought they were excellent I believe they tossed like four or five assists to Stewie okay and a couple of them were like you know Stewart was just at the basket and the ball appeared in her hands right yeah yeah so it was like I think those two really got their stuff together easier against Indiana's defense a young team that you know still getting it together crucially I think a team that didn't run as much as Washington did right which I think is going to be a big weakness for New York early going at the very least like in transition their defense there's holes there Vanier Slute with Jon Qual players who don't really push it necessarily on transition defense early in the season I think they'll get into shape and they'll change as the games get more important but you know it all it all came together and and you're right it just kind of felt like you know hey you look up Stewie has 25 and then you look up again she has like 30 and you look up again I was like okay we're in 40 like she about to hit the the franchise record it just happened so fast because it was all well within the flow of the offense I thought that's a that's a really good sign for New York I think they're going to be just fine yeah I agree I mean I think it's going to take them some time to to gain that chemistry and rhythm but you know against Washington in that first game Washington had 16 fast break points yeah but and we'll talk about the Mystics in a while but you know in the Mystics last two games they only had two in two games two fast break points on Sunday against Connecticut and none in their most recent game Tuesday so I mean when you see Washington and their ability to go 16 to 2 advantage in that New York game pushing tempo I mean they were forcing turnovers I mean they had 13 steals against New York so I mean I think that speaks also to the chemistry or lack thereof out of the gates but I mean when you can have 13 steals and turn a team over 22 times right and and get into the open court I mean that bodes well for a team like Washington but they haven't been able to recreate that kind of production for their fast break points since that game but in terms of getting back right it's also about taking care of the ball right it's also about you know making sure you know your personnel and in certain situations come and meet passes don't wait for the ball to come to you like run through the ball so you know they're just some some basics and fundamentals but there's also some chemistry pieces that you know need to come along but you know that's something that that reps will handle in practice more so than anything yeah and I think you know it's a good really good example of what happens in the regular season of both the NBA and the WNBA especially earlier on it's like yeah do you have a strength that can attack the LA team's weakness so what was New York's weakness against Washington turnovers transition defense Washington had the capability of creating turnovers and then taking it down in transition thanks in large part to breaking sight so there was a big difference from last year last year they could create the turnovers it couldn't take it down in transition against against Indiana New York still had 18 turnovers still had provided those transition opportunities but Indiana is not a team that can take take that right so they can't take those transition opportunities as well as as DC could they didn't create the turnovers to be live ball turnovers rather than dead ball turnovers there you go so it it just created a different situation in which New York was able to succeed and then you get once New York was able to get into half courts one of those games as an offense where you say let's get into the half court because we can beat them whereas against Washington I would say most teams are saying we don't want to get in a half court game with them because their half court defense is too good and then you look at what Connecticut does the fourth team in this equation they're really good at limiting transition opportunities they're really they they want to make it a slug fest for you offensively yeah and that's what they did and it's a great matchup to what Washington wants to do and I think they're gonna have to it's one of those things that like as the season progresses you guys see these advantages and disadvantages be reckoned with by the coaching staff but early in the season it's really about figuring out what your advantages and disadvantages are in every single matchup no doubt and it's exactly what Connecticut did to Indiana in their first game you know they were so disruptive they they made them uncomfortable and speaking with Stephanie White in DC when they were playing the Mystics on Tuesday that's what she told me before the game she was like we just want them to be uncomfortable right and and that doesn't mean like anything egregious that just means we want to blow up any action that they want we won't blow up that hammer action they'd like to get for uh Elena you know on that fade screen to the left foul line extended area they want to blow that up they did a good job of just messing that all up every time they tried to get it even at the end of the game they tried to get that same action and couldn't so I think when when you have someone like Stephanie White who has 15 years experience as a player or coach in the league she understands what it takes to win that's why they're 3 -0 in Connecticut right now even without John Quill Jones and even without um Jasmine Thomas who's with LA and obviously um John Quill Jones is with New York but with um with what Connecticut has been able to do defensively throwing Rebecca Allen on the floor too and and showing that strength um and length that's that's just a tough matchup for a lot of teams in terms of how they play defense um they don't like to switch a lot they will if they have to only like look like on emergency situations they would switch sometimes but for the most part they're staying over top on pick and rolls so that's even harder right when when teams fight over top and Connecticut does a really good job of doing that so um especially with their length so it's very disruptive so um kudos to Stephanie White to be out of the gates with that great 3 -0 record but you know she knows it's about the defense and that's what she said you know we just have to be disruptive make them uncomfortable and that's been working out for them pretty well yeah and I think that's the kind of personnel they have this year right they have the personnel I mean Liz Thomas dog Doana Baller dog Natisha Heideman dog Bree Jones dog like it's a team of dogs and like you mentioned Beck Allen and and you know we weren't necessarily playing talking about Connecticut but I think it's a good time they're yeah looking good and I think most people may have been surprised by it I'm not me either because Beck Allen she makes the spacing makes sense I mean as much as I love John Quill and and she was amazing with this team and there's no sense in I'm not even coming close to saying that Beck Allen and John Quill Jones are the same player just like in basketball right you need spacing offensive spacing and they finally have it with Beck Allen she needs to stay healthy she needs to continue getting shots but it's opened a lot of room for them and I think the other thing defensively like you mentioned they're they're going to do their thing but I just I like the way the team set up I love Tiffany Hayes people forget like Tiffany Hayes man she's a talk about hog out there she can get to the rim she can shoot she does

"Won't. Wearing your seat belt could be the difference between making it home to your loved ones and not making it at all. Every day, when you get in your vehicle and decide whether to buckle up, remember that it's the single most effective way to protect your life in the event of a crash. Make it home safely to the people you care about. Don't risk it. Click it or ticket. Paid for by the nhtsa. Okay, vagina. A lot of storylines to get to, but let's start with something we've seen in the NBA for more than a decade, but now has become a thing in the WNBA, and it's super teams. This off season the New York liberty, they signed Brianna Stewart, former MVP, and maybe the biggest star in the league, the liberty also traded for John quill Jones and other MVP, they signed Courtney van der sloot, one of the best point guards in league history, and though yeah, they still have Sabrina UNESCO, the number one overall pick from 2020, who they just signed to a contract extension. And last year recorded the league's first 30 point triple double, on paper, how good can this team be? On paper, this team looks like a championship squad. Trump well Jones, nobody out there and nothing but net. Trying to break down Harrison steps around Harrison lays it up and at the buzzer. Stewart will fire and cadet. Breanna Stewart is locked in. But as far as how good they are today, Israel, I don't know. Looking at the pieces, the championship pedigree that has just shown up on this roster is incredible. You mentioned two former MVPs, adding that to Sabrina and even benign laney who's been an all star in this league and is a most improved player. Courtney van der sloot who just won a championship in Chicago. I mean, this is coming together as a roster that looks like one of the best we've had in league history. Final few seconds here of regulation. South Anderson. Corbyn is huge. But a lot of things have to fall in place for this to work, right? And so we know that it's going to take chemistry and trust. They have a great head coach in sandy Braun dello, so how she puts these pieces together on the offensive and defensive end is going to be important. She's won a championship. So again, bringing that pedigree, but the most important ingredient in my opinion for New York this year is just the hunger that that city has. They have never won a WNBA championship. The only franchise in league history that has not done so. And then some of those marquee stars that I just talked about have not won a championship yet. Despite being in MVP in this league, John quill did not win one in her time in Connecticut. Sabrina UNESCO never won that coveted NCAA championship in her time at Oregon. So I think she is really looking forward to hoisting the trophy for the first time in her career. And so I think that is really what's going to drive and separate this team and they have the pieces in the championship experience now to do that. Now I'm from South Florida, so I've seen a very high profile super team where there was a lot of pressure on them sort of work through some kicks, but still eventually succeed. So I'm wondering with the liberty in terms of player skill duplication in terms of any other things that you've seen from other super teams, what challenges do they face? Yeah, I mean, I think it's a combination of things. It's the pressure to win in your first season coming together, like everyone believes at this roster is ready to win a championship now. So how do you deal with that? There's also a level of sacrifice, as you know, is real bringing this number of in caliber of stars together everyone sharing and caring and playing together. But where I think this team really has an advantage is three of those players that you name Courtney van der sloot, Brianna Stewart, and Jean-Paul Jones, all played together in on a team in Russia and he Catherine Berg. And so these are three players that have been in those championship situations together and are coming in with some chemistry already. They were building a group chat as they were going through their free agency conversation. So these three players in particular were in touch about their goals for this organization and what they wanted to achieve and how they could do this. So to me, that kind of expedites what could be a championship season for the liberty, but I definitely think that chemistry piece is what's going to be most important. Let's go back to Brianna Stewart for a second. We mentioned the biggest signing of the off season. What is her move from the Seattle storm to the liberties say about player empowerment in the WNBA? Yeah, we're seeing more movement than ever in the WNBA since the signing of the new CBA in 2020 free agency periods have gone wild. Teams aren't able to core their marquee players as long as they used to be able to. There's more money available. There's just more movement in general with this CDA. So we are seeing some franchise faces on the move. And we've seen a lot of that in the last couple of years and now Brianna Stewart is adding that piece. And when it comes to player empowerment, you also have to talk about the fact that John Cole Jones requested a trade. This is not the first time that's happened in league history. We've seen it happen quite a few times, especially in the last decade, Sylvia fowles did so getting out of Chicago going to Minnesota where she won championships. Elena delle donne also requested to be moved out of Chicago, ended up winning a championship in Washington with the mystics. So that piece is also very interesting and players really taking control of that. But Brianna Stewart has had a lot of personal and professional reasons for her move. She won two championships in Seattle. She's from New York, Syracuse, New York, which I should say. She admits that it's closer to Canada than it is to Manhattan. But her wife, Marta is from Spain, and so she can easily get home from New York. There are a lot of different considerations like that. She's got a daughter, ruby now. Obviously, we'll be closer to her family, got another one on the way. But she's also talked a lot about using the media market in New York as a megaphone to bring more awareness to the challenges of the WNBA and to raise the league's platform as one of the best players. Obviously, she used charter flights as kind of a talking point throughout her free agency. But she's also now at an organization with an owner like Josiah who has been very vocal in his support of wanting to move the needle using his resources for some of the needs of WNBA players. And I think that has been very helpful as well. But I do want to say that I think the biggest influence in this movement, particular for the liberty, was looking over at Las Vegas and all the talent that they have and now adding Candace Parker, you have to have a very talented roster to beat them. And I think these players knew that. Well, the China, this to me is the best part of the story because you have a dueling super team and oh, they happen to be the defending champion Las Vegas ASUS. You know they're led by reigning MVP Asia Wilson. Here's Wilson. Last year's Finals MVP, Chelsea gray. Here comes the screen for Williams. Gray, 60 shoot. She wants this. She's charming. Chelsea gray. A master. And of course, Kelsey plum, one of the best scorers in the league. Ron's trying to do it herself. Finishes us the foul. Can you mention Candace Parker? They just so happened to add Candace Parker. And she got found. How does she make this team even more dangerous? Oh boy, I mean, Candace Parker, who is a two time champion, has been an MVP in this league. She's like no other player in the WNBA, 6 4.4 word who has won rookie of the year defensive play of the year and MVP. So she's in rare air. But even at the ripe age of 37, you know, her basketball mind is incredible. And yes, she is a stats sheet stuffer and impacts the game on the floor, but more than anything. I think this chapter of Candace's career is about leaving something for the next generation. And I'm excited to see what her mentorship of Asia Wilson and other young stars on this team will yield. And I also kind of feel like it's a bit of a selfish era for Candice Parker. But she did, you know, win a championship in LA and was the face of that franchise for many years. But then she went to Chicago and brought them their first ring, you know, that's home for Candace being from Naperville, Illinois. She now wanted to play for an organization that had top notch facilities and resources and she's doing that in Vegas and everything that Mark Davis has done and establishing that team. So I think she brings a lot. But there hasn't been a team that has repeated since the O one O two sparks. And so do the aces have the hunger that they did for their first title, to me that's what it's going to take. Can anyone else beat these teams with China or is everyone else basically playing for third? It's going to be a competitive season, Israel. I do think that these two teams will absolutely be at the top of the conversation come September when we're talking about WNBA playoffs and making a championship run. But there are two other teams that are very intriguing to me. One is the Washington mystics. Elena delle donne is healthy and has had the healthiest off season. That she has in a while after a few back surgeries and missing significant times. In most recent years, at any time, Elena delle donne is healthy. Our team is going to be vying for a championship and I'm excited about the new era for Eric Tebow. They've added Britney Sykes and Christy tolliver, Amanda zowe B, but this is also a core that won a championship together in 2019 when you talk about Natasha cloud and aerial Atkins. They have a very, very talented young rookie and Shakira Austin. So Washington will be in the conversation and there's another team that at least starts the season in this group for me. And that's the Connecticut sun. And some people may say, well, wait, didn't you just say they quell Jones? Well, yes, they did lose Jean-Paul Jones, and that's major. And Courtney Williams is also now in Chicago. But you still have just an incredible front court. One of the best in this league with Alyssa Thomas, Brianna Jones, dewanna bonner, you add to this roster, Tiffany Hayes, who was a tremendous talent coming from Atlanta who just brings another dimension of on one play domination on the offensive end. And they have a new head coach and Stephanie white, who was able to get the Indiana fever to the final as the head coach won a championship with the fever as an assistant coach. I just love her toughness and the pedigree that she brings to a team's identity, not that they didn't already have a lot of that. But I just believe that she could be the missing piece to help to bring Connecticut their first trophy. Okay, so there will be competition for those super teams, but this next question is almost a Rite of passage for a thriving league. Are those teams good or bad for the league? I believe super teams are good for the league. The conversation, if nothing else, has been just bringing a lot of excitement and anticipation as we look to kick off. And if you look at the NBA as a model, it was those years of Celtics versus Lakers. That's where a lot of the super fandom comes from. You know, super team seems to breed super fandoms for leagues. Rivals are something that just bring in the casual sports fan. And there could not be two better organizations right now in terms of what they present on court than Vegas and New York to kind of lead that charge. But I think it's great. You still have to win the games between the lines. You don't win games on paper, unfortunately. They'll be a very competitive season across the board and the WNBA, but I think the super team narrative is pretty cool. Well, a growing league also comes with controversy. I think I'm right about that. And this week we learned that the aces head coach Becky Hammond has been suspended for two games for, quote, violating league and team respect in the workplace policies. And the league has rescinded the ace's 2025 first round draft pick for violating league rules regarding impermissible player benefits. And this is all surrounding former aces forward D Erika hamby, who last year accused a team of bullying and intimidation after finding out she was pregnant. Can you put this in perspective for me, what level of scandal are we talking here? Well, there are no winners in this situation. The optics of this are really, really, really bad. The WNBA and his players have long been a league that has supported women on and off the court and specifically in this case, their role as mothers and parents. We saw that in the most recent CBA negotiations on how providing mothers with support and resources was a focal point. It was very important. And that is very different from what dear cause accusations were and what ultimately the league found fault in in Vegas. And what really stands out to me about this is that Vegas was on its way to becoming America's team. I mean, Mark Davis hired an all women leadership team, including giving Becky Hammond a $1 million contract. Their facilities are top notch, Asia Wilson is the face of the WNBA. They won their first championship, and now this. But Becky gets a two game to suspension and the team loses a first round draft pick, a team that's already loaded. The Players Association didn't feel like the punishment fit the crime. And that's understandable. But from what we know or have been told about this case, this is all we do know. They're still, it seems like a lot to be determined. And again, they're just no winners at all. You mentioned the PA not being happy with the punishment.

"Team and contributing. I think she can. You know, I know they've been speaking very highly of her recently, but those are the things that I'm kind of just thinking through in my mind. I was leading up to the show and just probably the two teams that I'm most focused on. I know everybody wants to say Las Vegas in New York. But I'm really intrigued with Indiana and Connecticut, specifically. Well, first of all, I completely agree. And Rachel knows and a few other people in the know know that there is a recent night that I had a little bit too much wine and a little bit too much afternoon coffee and just like went crazy deep down into all of the teams shout out as always to her hoop stats. Because they provide a necessity, which is salary cap information and details. So let's touch on some of these teams. First of all, why not talk about the liberty off of the gate? Liberty in Vegas because they're the two easiest teams to talk about in my opinion when it comes to the current specifics and the current play out that we're at now. So the aces have 11 on the books, basically. But if they want to keep Sydney Colson, who, you know, yeah, she's not pulling the biggest minutes, but if you look at the social media presence of the aces, it's pretty clear to see that they expect. No, you're totally right. But if they want to keep her on the team, they're going to either have to cut Asia shepherd. Or Kirsten bell. So it's going to be interesting kind of to see what they do there. Losing recent draft picks for a player who has shown importance, no doubt. But it's just an interesting aspect. There are also, look, some additions of Kayla George and Alicia Clark maybe make that decision a little bit easier. But keep an eye out for some cuts in that regard. And then the liberties is a more interesting one. It's a little bit more confusing, so bear with me, but in the general scheme of things when it comes to all these different teams, it's fairly fairly simple. They got 9 people in the books, 138 K in cap space. They can sign two straight up and play at 11. If they sign prints, they can't sign near a sabaly without cutting someone else. If they sign prints, have they signed prints, they can sign Han Zika or marine, obviously we know they want marine. So basically, the roster is set, and this is my perspective. I assume Han and marine make the team. And then it comes down to either Zika or sabaly if they cut DD or Jocelyn Willoughby. So if we want to skip from like in the weeds to just the end point, it comes down to either they keep Zika or solidly, but then they need to cut DD or Jocelyn Willoughby. So either you're saying, hey, there goes two high potential draft picks from recent years. High picks also. Or you're cutting, you know, didi who has shown an immense importance to this team, not just as a bench player who hypes up the team. But also as a role player. And then Jocelyn Willoughby, like, similarly, another player who not a superstar, but has shown importance on this team. So I will also say that Willoughby having a slightly larger contract in this case won't affect it. But in many cases, a very smart WNBA agent spoke to me one day and said, look, in the new CBA, it's going to be the death of the middle class. Take the lowest contract because you don't want 5000 to be a reason that you are booted from a team. Yeah fascinating point. So yeah, it's really interesting because most people are like, oh, make your money, make your money make your money. Yeah, that's cool and all, but like, that would you rather like guarantee to make it all or have the possibility of making 10,000 more. You know, it's the mystery box. Shout out to Family Guy or The Simpsons or whatever. That gets from. But the Connecticut sun. First team you talked about. Yes. In my mind, you have 9 locks. And that's dewana bonner, Alyssa Thomas, Brie Jones, Tiffany Hayes, Becca Allen, the tisha heideman, ty Harris, and DJ Carrington. Now you might say, sorry, and oh no, Olivia, Nelson ododa. That's the 9 in my mind that are locks. You could argue that oh no is not a lock. You could argue maybe ty Harris isn't. I would argue against that because I think they need that point guard. You could argue and teach a heideman what? I think she is a lock for sure. any of those 9 that you think are not locks? No, I agree with you. On that. So I think then people would then look at and question, well, why isn't he a cloud in the lock? The reason I don't think she's a lock is basically with cloud and on roster, right? With their ten players. If you include her, they don't have enough money to sign Alexis Morris. Their pick from this past year or so, well, practical they could actually, but that's not here nor do. Essentially, because of where players are drafted, the base contract that they're signing is slightly different scales and only having 62 and cap space and Alexis Morris being a 65 cap hit based on where she was drafted, that puts them in a tough situation. Now the question I have is Nia clouden is somebody of The Old Guard. We both know how much Kurt Miller love cloud in, but does that mean specifically that she's going to get a shot on this team? I don't think so. I mean, not to say that she won't get a shot, but to say that the person who drafted you and had you in mind for a certain role is no longer there, Ken Alexis Morris jumped that. Now, the call me a jerk call me hater yeh, call me whatever you want. And also keep in mind that this is on the assumption that Becca Allen is healthy and tiff Hayes comes over and plays on time and all that jazz. Right. Which I don't like to, especially in the W where they are not as forthcoming or revealing about injuries, especially ones that happen overseas, see countless examples just this year. I always like to assume that the players are healthy, unless told otherwise. But so for me, the interesting aspect is I'm looking at cloud or Morris, right? Maybe one of these others cracks it. We saw that they got rid of Kiki the other day. Which is a whole nother discussion of why you're cutting people that early. What's the reasoning behind it? But that's a different episode. But I look at this and I go, and I'm curious for you, Rachel. I know you didn't see the exact post because I was the one who dropped a rage bomb on you. Now, Alexis Morris has been very vocal since being drafted about how she did not feel prepared for WNBA training camp. And I think a fair pushback to some of the things she said was a lot of what she was putting on the teams in college, in my opinion, should be put on the players. One of the things she said is like, we need to be watching more W well, that's a you thing, not your coach thing. Yes. I've been screaming that for

"Anything about women's college basketball, you know about what South Carolina Don staley, her team, what they've been doing this year. I mean, to not lose a game in more than a year going for perfection, it feels like it's inevitable. Another championship for them, in your opinion, is there anybody who's going to stand in their way? Yeah, I think the team that stands in South Carolina's way is South Carolina. Even our crew, when we were doing the selection Sunday show, multiple times, we said, for a team to have success, you've got to catch up to your line on a B night, right? Like on a night where maybe ziya cooks not hot or maybe aliya Boston's getting double and triple teamed and it's working. You know what I mean? Something for South Carolina isn't working the way that they usually operate. And then you've got to be on your a game. And that's the hard part is that from what we've seen all season long, even when South Carolina is having a B game, the other team is unable to have an a game as well. So South Carolina still has ended up winning and those teams that can have an a night against South Carolina are slim. There's just not very many when you look at what you need to have component wise to play better than the gamecocks, it'll take three point shooting. It'll take efficient shots because guys, you have to think South Carolina rebounds offensively rebounds 49% of their own misses. 49%. So even a miss is almost like a pass. At that point. So there are multiplying people in terms of field goal attempts and field goal makes. And so for you, for another team, you've got to shoot a high efficiency shot because you're not going to get as many shots as them. So the ones you get, I've got to be great shots and you've got to make them. And then multiple efforts on the defensive end, you're going to need a little depth. You're going to need a little grit. You're going to need some physicality and toughness and it is doable. Is there a team that can do it? There's probably maybe a few, but it's a really, really tall task. It's definitely South Carolina versus the field right now. That offensive rebounds that is insane. I mean, from a historical perspective, just for context, historical context, where do you think this South Carolina team fits in terms of the larger history of the sport? I want a team fits in my opinion with those Yukon stretches that we saw, right? So that first you can stretch where it was, you know, and even the Tennessee stretch back in the late 90s, right, where you had the meeks and like that Tennessee team that Yukon teams with Maya Moore and Tina Charles and Tiffany Hayes that group was insane and then the Yukon team that had Brianna Stewart and Mariah Jefferson and Morgan tuck and kalina mosquito Lewis. This South Carolina team in my opinion fits with those teams. That's where I say they would fall. You mentioned her. I just want to do another minute or two on a Leah Boston because I mean, if you look through the statistical accomplishments, the awards. It's like you're scrolling endlessly on this list that never ends. How does aliyah Boston fit into what South Carolina is doing? And how good is she? Aliya Boston is the centerpiece of what South Carolina is doing by far, even if her number is not the same as last year. Everything revolves around her. And everything comes through aliyah Boston. And she's so talented. I mean, when she needs to take over a game, she has shown that she could do that. Rebound Boston. She got down. And a chance for three on a critical fourth. And she's just relentless in her will to do what the team needs her to do. And relentless in making the right decisions. Like her basketball IQ is just phenomenal. None of my watch. And we saw that happen in slow motion. But she's, she's so much fun to watch. They tip it right to aliya Boston, the all American the quick step around. Boom. Euro step from aliyah Boston right out of the gate. I mean skill set wise, the moves that she makes at the basket the way she can put the ball on the floor. So the two three zone for the wildcats. That's Boston, misses her first shot but gets the rebound and puts it back up and in and that's what you can not afford. The way she can knock down mid range jump shots, even step out and hit a three every now and then. Cross border at the Boston wide open for three bang. Aliyah Boston missed two wide open looks earlier today. She didn't miss that one in the game cost lead 72 to 61. Chicken defend on the perimeter, like at her size, she's defensive sliding and switching onto guards and doesn't even look concerned about the guard going past her or shooting over her. It's just been really amazing to watch her growth throughout her career. Yeah, that court sense is through the roof, right? You were talking before Andrea about how it's South Carolina versus the field and it's wide open when you get to the field. But obviously, Iowa and Caitlin Clark are kind of right at the top of the list of those other teams that are definitely in the mix. What do you make of Caitlin Clark and Iowa and their chances to make a deep run in this tournament? Yeah, I love Iowa's chances. You have to remember I was upset last year. And I mean, they got knocked out of the tournament early, so the bitter taste that's in their mouth is something that is going to stand and something that is going to sit with them. Those are competitive players, especially when you talk about Caitlyn Clark, but really all of them, Gabby Marshall, Monica sonata, Warnock. They're a Gritty, tough team. We were at their game against Indiana for game day, and it was so awesome. Katelyn Clark's last second three. Mind looking. His Clark, she fires and gos. She hit it. The team obviously goes as she goes, but she's, she's stronger this season. You don't see her hitting the ground as much. You see her defending better. Her shot making, but also her passing, the way they get out and transition and that's what really makes them hard. I mean, teams don't even try to offensive rebound against Iowa because they're so scared of Iowa in transition offense. So Caitlin's ability to find her teammates. She gets so much attention from the defense. She can just find her teammates. She told me that the first line of defense doesn't even bother her. It's when you send two or when you send three that she starts to get a little overwhelmed, but even that she handles like a pro. So it's so much fun. When you talk about exciting basketball, the way they knock down threes, I think I read a stat, Gabby Marshall and her last 9 games, guys, 78% from three. And that's not because that's not because she's just shooting one or two a game. Like she is knocking down three, four, 5 again. Cabbie Marshall takes the males to three that sticks. They're really exciting. The inside out play and then the hot shooting of the guards and the way that they run is just really fun to watch. I was going to say, you know, like the Steph Curry thing. I mean, is there anywhere that's not in range for Caitlin Clark and the other shooters? I mean, as soon as they get over the halfway line, basically. Yeah, that's what it seems like. That's what it seems like for sure. So Andrea, it seems like historically in the women's tournament, it's very top heavy, right? I mean, each of the last ten national champions were number one seeds. The last team to win it that wasn't number one seed was Texas a and M back in 2011. This year, there are some intriguing names, though, on that two line, including Yukon, which I think for a lot of fans is surprising. What do you expect to see from UConn and how do you sort of rate them in with those other two seeds? Yeah, I think Yukon is the number one two seed in my opinion. Now it depends on how AZ actually fuels going into the tournament, but if AZ feels 80% of what she was at the beginning of the season, like, you guys have to remember the first 6, maybe 5 or 6 games, AC was averaging 20 to four points. Like, I don't think she's going to get back to that coming back from her injury, but even if she's at 15 to 18, that team is drastically different. I mean, Caroline ducharme coming back and giving minutes off of the bench, the depth that they have. This was a number one team. This was a top ranked team early in the season before their injuries. And I think if they get back to that, we could see the same exact thing from Connecticut that we saw last year. They had a page Becker's back right before the big east tournament. And then they make a run all the way to the final four, even with page not at a 100%. So I think Connecticut, like when you talk about needing a fish and shooting, Lou Lopez and a Shaw, Aaliyah Edwards dork, you take high percentage shots, AZ bud is a sniper when she is close to fully healthy. So I think I could seek and here's the thing. They have the experience. What has it been 14 final fours in a row for Connecticut, including multiple national championships? This group has final four postseason experience, and that gives them a leg up against every other team, including the number one seed, which is a Virginia tech on their portion of the bracket. Andrea, it seems like, despite this sort of top heavy championship list, parody is still very much on the rise in women's college basketball last year, double digit seeds, Princeton Belmont, Florida Gulf Coast, they win first round games, creighton, a number ten seed gets to the elite 8 and I remember they held Caitlyn Clark to just 15 points when they beat Iowa on their way. What are the teams in this year's bracket that you think have the best chance to be Cinderella's? I mean, I think all the 8 9 seeds are definitely tough contenders, Purdue has put up some big wins this season, Alabama has a ten seat. They've got a couple of players that can get really hot. Brittany Davis is so much fun to watch for Alabama. She did not play well in their game in the SEC tournament, so I expect her to come back with a little bit of a vengeance. Middle Tennessee can score the basketball and shoot the ball really well. Georgia is a very defensive minded team. East Carolina is a very defensive minded team. There's a few that I think could really get out like marquette is a good team. They put together some really quality performances. So yeah, there's a few like 7, 8, 9, ten, 11 seeds that I think could really make a push that I'm excited to watch. And how about on the player side, one of the best parts about March Madness is sort of the star player that comes from nowhere that kind of bursts onto the scene. Is there a particular player sort of outside of the Caitlin Clark's aliyah Boston so the stars that we already know that you're keeping an eye on? Rakia Jackson for Tennessee is one for me. She transferred from Mississippi this season in her first season of freshman year of Mississippi they had a really good team. I think they were 20 wins, 6 losses, something like that. And that team would have made a push in the tournament, the tournament was canceled that year. Right. And then the next two seasons, she didn't make the tournament Mississippi state. So this is really her first appearance in the tournament, and she's had 8, 20 point games, in a row, including through the SEC tournament, including against South Carolina, 8 seconds for rakia. Austin takes over guarding her. Bounce off the backboard. You can tell we can't Jackson Woods. That battle that challenge. She is a pro in my opinion. Her Jordan horse are so much fun so rikki is one. It's an Iowa lapse in from Florida state is a freshman that has put up big time big time numbers that has been so much fun to watch. Obviously Asia recent LSU for people at home that haven't paid attention to much to the SEC, I think they're going to love watching angel Reese play. She was at Maryland last season, so a little different look there. There are a lot of players that I'm really excited for people to see just because there's just so much talent across the board. I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the first one on that list was a Tennessee volunteer, huh? Yeah, I mean, you know, just first one that came to mind. Maddie seegers from Villanova. There are four seeds, but Maddie seegers from Villanova is an absolute bucket. Like, she's the one that Rebecca lobo and I have talked about because you think, oh, Villanova and you don't think too much about Villanova, but Maddie seagrass is one to watch for sure.

"To me, it just doesn't, it doesn't make as much as that. I think to flip it back to Dallas. What they're doing is they've created a team that they really like, I think. They brought in Natasha Howard this year, resigns here, Macau and, you know, they have Veronica Burton who had a nice rookie season and is going to be even better. And then they have satsu sabi and dime the shields. The dynamic between Enrique and diamond is going to be a little weird. I think diamond will shoot better from three, but that's not the fit, but it's not going to be how mabry and rique were. It's going to have to be a little different. Right. So that's going to take some time like you said at the beginning of talking all this. That's going to take a lot of adjustment. But then they have another three first round picks. This season, they have the picks coming up in the future. This franchise is set up to continue growing. And I always see people asking, what's the plan in Dallas? I think it's a fair question. And I wrote in my newsletter ball and ordered that subsector account. I wrote about I wrote about how it's kind of like, you know, I don't know, I don't know if you ever play two K but in two K, you know, when I get a new franchise, when I get a new franchise, I like immediately trade everyone. You know, I trade all my trade all the players for draft picks. I kept bringing guys that I want. I change up everything. And I want to have to do something in the video game. So I want to do another. Yeah, we learned deal. I think Greg bibb has kind of like had that mentality. It's like, hey, this move is good. I'm going to do it. And that's great for roster building. But at some point, they need to turn the corner into team building. And I think this has to be the year for them with you should travel as the head coach has to be the year for them with a recast or leader, it has to be the year that they start going from this, hey, they have a lot of talent to, okay, this team is ready to compete and win. I think this year they have enough talent to do so. So I like what Dallas is building personally. No, I like it. Again, you know, just to have the pieces to be able to build to continually build and add to, you know, who's around Enrique goomba Walla. I mean, it's her squad right now. And no shade to anybody else. But we all clutch performer on that team. And she wants those moments. So I love that for her too. To be able to own that role and to have that trust from Greg bibb and the coaching staff as well. Just to know that we're working to get pieces around you. I mean, if I'm a rique, I'm like, let's go, you know? Let's bring them because you know how she's built, right? She wants to win. So just to have that trust from everyone in the organization, I think, is a plus for her too. It's her team. That's her team. And they did lose Alicia gray. And to a certain extent, that wasn't their choice. I think Alicia, honestly, I don't know if her problem was with the franchise or the role. I think almost what the role because she's saying, I'm a better player than the touches you're giving me. Right. I don't disagree with her. So, and so losing Alicia is a big deal and I'm not trying to. Downplay that at all. She's a big deal. Losing Marina is a huge deal. Yeah. But I just think they're kind of built, they're built well now, and they have playoff experience. They have players that they can rely on, and they have a good base for playing good defense. And that's been a problem in Dallas, you know, they got their stuff together at the end of the last year, but they're going to have to really lock in on that end of the court this year. And I think they can. So shouts Dallas, I think it's a good move. There's a New York and Phoenix element to this. I don't feel like getting into the minutiae of it. There's a lot of stuff going on. It's more minor moves, more minor moves. I do want to talk about one more major move, even though we're going along. Yeah. Tiffany Hayes. To Connecticut. For the number 6 pick from Atlanta. I love that. I love that. I love that move. Yeah. I love that. I mean, Tiffany Hayes, I mean, you know, she had some injury issues. But I mean, her presence, we were talking about leadership too. Her presence as a leader is, I mean, that's what Connecticut needs right now, right? They've lost some pieces. Obviously, John called Jones and others, but I just think that that's a perfect fit for her. And Connecticut with Stephanie white being the head coach there in her first year with the sun. I just think that's going to be a great combo with having her there. And Brie Jones resigns. Actually for a little bit less than the max, which is interesting. But you look at this team. We're talking about we're talking about Chicago. This team is full of dogs. Thai Harris tip Hayes, the wanna bonner, Alyssa Thomas, Brianna Jones, that's what you're starting 5, you gotta teach a heideman come off the bench in the cloud and our girl coming off the bench. I think they're a little thin, but I'm looking at it and I wanted to do power rank is on this episode. We're not gonna have we're not gonna have a chance to do it. But I'm like, they're right in there. You know, I'd say that with them and them in Washington are really close to each other in terms of competing with those top two teams in New York and Las Vegas. Yeah, I think tip, I mean, it's really hard to lose someone like John Cole Jones and still stay good. Yeah. You know, you look at teams that lose superstars. They don't tend to stay in contention. Right. This team did that with this move. And I think they should be really, really excited for what tip brings to kinetic and she's honestly something they need. That outside in sort of player who can spot up a little bit, that's exactly what they need. I think it's going to be really good for them. Obviously they take a step back though. I'm not trying to say they tip haze and John Paul Jones the same thing. They stay pretty close to where they were. Absolutely. And they get, you know, Atlanta gets a number 6 pick out of that. And I think that's good for Atlanta. I'm super young team that's continuing to grow and get better. I thought they had a phenomenal season last year for the youth that they had on the floor most of the time. So I think at number 6 pick in exchange for Hayes is a good move for them on the other side too. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, for sure. I like it. I like that move actually. So that's a win win. That's a win win. We'll say it. It's a win win. And it's great for Tiffany Hayes. She had when she was 12 years at 2018. 2018, they make the semifinals. Yeah. She was incredible.

Welcome 'cause i think sammy if you just look at the new york liberty to them. He say they have. They have laney. they have sabrina. So we don't we don't actually we all know the exact specifics of what happened but there was some sort of verbal altercation potentially physical altercation between it seems it seems to. I'm not reporting anything. I make it very clear. I'm not reporting anything. But seems like according to williams. Kenny carter guy into a kerfuffle. Things have turned physical bubble. Wait a scuffle. Whatever they got into something and it boiled over on the bench during the game to the point that kennedy had to be benched. Now this is playing out over twitter. Recording williams talking about this all over twitter There's been a lot sources talking. About how kenny carter is a cancer or a lot of stuff is coming out of atlanta. It seems dysfunctional. And again i just mentioned all three of their guards as being potential all star candidates. So it's not like team. They're not playing great. They're not one of the best teams in the league. But they're certainly not bad. Enough to be completely unraveling at the seams so kristie. I just wanted to get your thoughts on what we've heard from the situation so far first of all that was it was shocking. You know no one knew why. Kennedy carter didn't play in the second half of their last game. And you know i had the game on friday atlanta and seattle the twitter game on. Wnba's twitter and you know her minutes. Weren't that big during that game. We were wondering. I was on the call a. w. tonelli we were wondering man. They need carter back out there. She was you know scoring at will like she is doing a really great job. So i don't know. I know she's coming back from the elbow. Injury came back. You know the several weeks ago a couple of weeks ago you know. There's no mention of minutes restriction for her but it just seemed like okay. They're trying to ease her in to the situation. They're trying to ease their head. And not you know overdo her minutes you know because cardio teague or whatever elbow may hurt or something like that that we were wondering where she was on friday so the fact that this kind of exploded all over social media last couple of days and you know might peterson. God bless a i mean. He was handed. This team is was it three days before the season started making calling a took the job at baylor. And you know two days later. The dream opened the season. Like here's the season so he spent. I think quite a struggle in that regard one and then to get a whole entirely new coaching staff. In there You know they have the kisha frat down there as one of their assistance and they have dana laforest man who is on the bench as well for the essence. Stick oats terrence. Mann's anyway for the clippers but anyway i But i think it's been quite a challenge. But i think what i like most if there's anything to like about this Situation and is that renee montgomery came out immediately and said accountability will always be at the top here in atlanta for our organization. And that's it. And she had to say something. And i think that was the best thing to say and who knows how long kennedy carter is going to be suspended for because it said until further notice so it wasn't like for one game or you know we're almost halfway. Mark was going to be a huge break. I don't know what that looks like. And i know it. Wasn't there an incident a couple of seasons ago where we'll players got into fisticuffs and they both got traded. So that happened. That was as courtney alex bentley. That's it was but connecticut picks they to treat someone. Because i think it got into i think got from what i can understand about this situation from social media which is not a ton but from what we can understand. It wasn't like alex bentley according got in to eight bytes a right all altercation on a team bus so the team had to do something about the situation and they decided to trade alex bentley to atlanta where she had awesome playoffs. That we don't talk about enough for alex. chisholm is. but i digress. But yeah so you know to me. So the big issue obviously like kennedy is your future you know. No offense to courtney no offense to tiffany hayes offensive elizabeth williams the future of the atlanta dream is kennedy carter so you need to get her on board to whatever you're doing. I think is extremely difficult to get anyone on board when the gm just got fired that drafted her the coach that brought her in just got just left for another job three weeks before season and now there's a new coach who has been there but it's not like he has the same sorta head coach relationship to another player and on top of all this. You've added all of that firepower to a group of players that when they all came together like this is a this is a locker room that we need to see like this the great and we saw some video of on their social media of courtney and tiffany hayes and can carter and our uh simpson all of them like hanging out and being franz but it also blow up because you have players. Have biggie goes the have. They're not afraid to speak their minds. And we're going gonna get any faces and look that works right like that's what that's what makes the miami heat the miami i know. But that's what makes miami heat the miami now. If you've ever been to my he practice you will see players getting right in each other's faces yelling you know. Get getting an almost physical altercations because they care that much and that can be a good thing channel channel and put it towards a positive way and i think they've missed the boat there in atlanta with this So maybe it's just a situation where you have all these big personalities and there's some losses piling up there some miss shots and there's people who want more shots who think they can do better for the team maybe it just pulls over and then it comes back and it's like you know when you when you're boiling something boils over. It'll come back down. And then we can sue out the process especially with this break coming up but if now know where they go from here that's the thing like what's it gonna look like. Whenever it is that she returns like what is what will that look like when she does get back..

"Personality is one that chill. She's the best. I used to be there. There's there's a lot of personalities that are on twitter. They're very fun like i think. Asia wilson's a real easy to go to tweeting all the time very fun personality sharing funny stuff to docs from the locker room Neka is a very. there's reason she's like the voice of the players association. She is a very down to earth. Very even keel like when when she was snubbed from team usa. I know must have hurt. And it was her circle. That was kind of vouching for her on her behalf but she took it on the gin and juice. Yeah that's just who she is steps. I yeah i mean that's gonna play. She's gonna go play. Like i was able to media credentials for the twenty nineteen all star game. You know it was a cool opportunity to to see a lot of these players close. And i mean it when i just one of the friendly friendly doesn't even touch with her. She's one of those people that berry much. She goes to every player she. She gives him a hug. Sees that she she very much is taking her player. Players union position very seriously in caring for these people and that's on her mind on top of everything else but it's one of those things that it just adds to this whole litany of. It's really frustrating. That we have these two rosters. And she's not represented there and you know the excuses that i've heard from team. Usa and specifically did not sit. Well me but that's a whole different discussion. Be fun to have a lot of uconn fans telling me that sucked now but you. That's a frustrating case. I i had. Maybe i didn't williams i. That was my case. Currently the difficulty with this is there was a twelve team roster. But you only get ten votes. I only had four back court votes in. And so courtney was kind of my one out. It looks like maybe was the one out for you I thought maybe it was kind of one of the breakout star players. Who deserve that nod. But i was surprised to see sabally in that same vein but it's tough because it's not like she hasn't played up to it. I just think if you're going to only have two players from dallas and you have to have Then may be made more sense to me personally attic. that's there there's also I don't know who. I would have replaced her with. But i. I saw a lot of people disappointed. Tiffany hayes didn't get in. And i didn't really realize this until i went digging into the numbers but there is a valid case for that Tiffany hanes didn't have a three point shot until this year basically and then. She added that element to her game. This is i guess. What ninth year in the league. She shooting forty five percent from three. She never had a season above forty percent before this And she's averaging over seventeen points per game plan really well. So that's one that feels like if the dream had a couple more wins in the w column. Maybe she gets in. Yeah not enough not enough of a light on the atlanta during this year to get her in. But that is i hear you. If you were a tiffany hayes voter. I think you add some serious ground to stand on. I get it no definitely so. It's i mean overall. Now that i've had time to look at the roster right the rosters. I feel you know. I think more in tune. To what i'm seeing and i think there's a there's a lot of fun to be had as we dig through this. I'm interested to see how seriously they're going to allow these rosters to go at it. Because i'm pretty sure. Dawn staley is saying. I need all ligaments. And tendons healthy on my team heading into tokyo. And so i think it'll be a fun event. I more than anything. I'm excited to be honest. If there's anything. I'm excited to see the ninety sixteen roll out and get the love. They deserve to be cool. They should be. They should team usa. I like the idea by the way of having team. Usa rests and letting twa play the ninety sixteen per quarter. Maybe hey we. This is a good time to plug as any. We're going to be at the all star game. The four of us are going to go live fourteenth. We're going to be in vegas assuming that our flight gets us there and we we wanna see you guys so just taking this time we. We still have a little bit episode left after this. But i just. I wanted to segue that because i i'm getting pumped for and it's getting pretty close so if you're going to be out there tweet at us. Dm us let us know. We'll we'll come up with a meeting location. Maybe we'll catch some top golf or something. Get to hang out with all you guys. But all all-star fun. I hear the vegas top a riot We have. that's pretty cool. But i hear that one's pretty sweet so just wanted to throw that out of their apologies for interrupting but that is going to be. The ninety sixteen is going to be sweet. And anytime i know. There's a little bit of Not animosity but there's some drama around the team. Usa announcement this year because of the neka snub. I'm still super excited to go. Watch a team..

"One really outsider. They're not gonna be like look. I was right at the door of my rod. Takes the preseason house right. But i can confirm. I was there when you said that. Obviously absolutely thrilled to see her playing level. Just had a fantastic start to the season at that. I'm not that high on new york. I i think. I mean there's just such a young team so i think they've done a lot of to brow in keep getting better. I mean it's basically a rookie year for sabrina to she four games last season. So i mean it's just it's gonna take time and i think that's fine. Don't know that they're gonna be quitting season. I think the got shot in the playoffs. But i could also see among of missingham alright so next up with got atlanta four and four is with tuesday night. I mean the back court here. Unsurprisingly is the story of the tiffany hades williams than fantastic kennedy. Carter is out right now with an injury but has been really solid for them. I think this team looks a little bit better than i thought ever going to. So far i think positively surprised with them. Yeah i'm with you. I think i probably had been if i if i would have had to rank Rather than just tears. I think i would have probably had them eleventh above indiana at the beginning season They've moved up on my board as well with that. Four game winning streak had Big thing that. I'm really loving this year's corny williams Always been a big courtney williams. Fan a She's really swaggie. And i love that be. We share initials and we share a birthday. So i have to be a fan But the only thing. I haven't liked his her as a guy she just takes so many jumpers and she'll pass up a three and pull up off the dribble one step inside the line but she has been taking threes this year. She's never attempted to. Three's a game In her career she's attempting four and a half threes game this year. She's never made a three-game she's making over two threes game. She shooting almost fifty percent forty nine percent from three. Which i think is a big reason for the step up for this team and this offense in particular. When is really the same shot. She's been taking her whole careers. Just an add an extra foot to that extra extra point every time. That's how it works. And i love it. I'm even more of according williams fan now that she shooting in making threes I'm i'm on this team. Being a lot higher than i thought they were to another sort of middle of the road team. I don't think they're they're. They're in the basement. Yeah the status in thinking about tiffany hayes. Team she's attempted more threes in her career. She's attempting Now four three threes a game at shooting at forty seven percent which would be a career high. She hold onto that quite a bit. Thirty seven percents that. She's shot from deep in this season so Both of them have been really leading up from beyond the arc which has been a big part of why events successful. The two are tied for team around eighteen points. Am huge part of this team. Success yeah and you know we we have yet to really see. I think the full extent of what they're going to look like when cheyenne parker you know she's she's been back. She's played two games. Seventeen minutes a game I think the more she sort of gets up to speed with his team gets acclimated with with her new team and he meets. You know we'll see. I mean she was great last year which chicago So so. I don't even know if we've necessarily seen the the ceiling for this team and of course like you mentioned kennedy carter's out as well so when you put put all those pieces together. Yeah this definitely is. I think potential to be a playoff team. Yeah great and i think i don't think getting a little bit better every game. While is she keeps getting better. I mean there's some questions in the right car when equal lambs in elizabeth. Names have been playing well. But they're not. You know pretty hard with her. I just don't think they're gonna make the playoffs. Probably this looks better than i was expecting. Yeah yeah absolutely with you mess. Now after teasing its game at three and five quite. They were hitting their straddle. They were out like a three game win. Streak to washington tonight. I feel like i just so confused. By what is going up steve. I've paper that very clearly. Have all the pieces. He's the gut know killa brian. They add declared improv. The liberty after they they got their got all the pieces. It's still feels like a all. Really clicking on the court though yeah. I am very confused by this team. Two would say the same thing as you. I you know. We're both were high on this team. Did you pick them as your champion. Yeah i knew i did. I thought you did as well we but we both went out on a limb and then they lost their first three games in. I didn't change my opinion even a little bit because they didn't have to call your math on all right. you know. She's back game four. They're going to be all right And they just got run out of the gym by the storm Which was a little bit concerning because they had call your back and they had a week leading up that game without any games with collier practicing so it's not like she was just thrown into the fire. Having straight come from overseas without any practices with her new teammates they lose aerial powers. Obviously but after that they started they start rolling a little bit until tonight Ever before tonight every single game their offensive rating had increased the late at least a little bit from the game before our. That wasn't gonna keep up forever but I think this team. I'm a little bit confused by its shot. Making i think is what it really is. We looked at some of those in the praises. We talked about some of those players from last year. Who were knocked down from three. And then you you add in players like kayla mcbride who obviously can shoot aerial power so area powers has been has been out but when she was playing she was just one for six from three D'humieres dentist though under thirty percent..

"Score. First metality coming into Coming out of college. She only played about two-thirds of season two. She had an injury in the middle of the year. But she kinda quieted those concerns She shot more threes and she didn't call also not tremendous volume. She was a much better decision maker than i expected. He had a pretty strong Rookie season But she still definitely loves her midrange. Pull up the first round draft class year then in the offseason odyssey sims. Who been a very good start in previous seasons. How bit of a rough two thousand and twenty season in the bubble but she was also recovering from eternity leaf. She's a very good downhill point guard. Who is a career. Eighty four percent. Free throw shooter. She's done entire months without missing free throws but also only twenty eight percents point shooter. She got salary dumped by minnesota and then cut by indiana who took iran and she gets signed by by atlanta. Very good Not a great shooter despite the groceries for percents this year ended. Wnba draft with the number. Three over okay. The the dream select area. Mcdonald's now this is the calculation is making she shot. She is in the ncaa tournament this year. She shot twenty two from forty six from three coming into the ncaa chairman. She'd been a thirty percent three point shooter and thirty percent shooter for her college career. She is only five seven but she's a. She's a very good defensive. Combo guard who basically again those arizona teens was basically mcdonald and four defense first role player. But i'll do enough offensively to make everything work. She led a three to national championship game. They lost by one point. She's she's been good in mid recent past have really rough madrid season last year but she really likes shots. She's number. three overall. Pick can't begrudge that she. She's very talented and she had a great tournament in a draft. That was there. Were questions everywhere that leaves you with four score. First combo guards none of whom. How are one hundred percent identifiable a strong shoulders and three whom really liked pulling up in the mid range so the town is definitely there but managing both their minutes and their spacing is going to be interesting. Now clara missing in the bubble stiffy hayes. Now in previous seasons tiffany hayes very clearly top twenty five wnba player. She is a very very strong defensive to shooting guard by ten. She has a very morale's fairly skill set and she's a clear secondary option had the guest..

"Women's basketball team is close to being finalized. The WN BA has not said who's buying the team. But the current owners include former Georgia Senator Kelly Leffler, a Republican. The team's mostly black players wanted the league to force her to sell after the candidate came out against black lives matter during her senatorial campaign. NPR's Emma Peasley reports when the WN BA announced its support for the Black Lives matter organization Last summer, Kelly Leffler sent a letter to the league criticizing it for bringing politics onto the basketball court. And that's where the players made their voices heard a political statement tonight from members of the Atlanta dream against their owner. The players wore black T shirts with big white letters saying Vote Warnock at their next game against the Phoenix Mercury. They were endorsing Reverend Raphael Warnock. He's the pastor of Atlanta's historic Ebeneezer Church and one of left Lear's opponents in the race for a Georgia Senate seat. Players from across the league, joined in the protest and also war vote Warnock shirts for their games that night. Angel McCoughtry was one of them. She's a former dream player now on the Las Vegas aces. She says it wasn't just a protest against Leffler, but an endorsement for war noch and his positions on racial justice and other issues. We didn't just do it because she didn't know spec cars matter before we even put vote, warn experts out We did our research. We said, Let's let's make sure We're doing this for the right cause at the time, more knock was pulling at just 9% after the players endorsement. The war, not campaign says they were flooded with donations and followers on social media. The race went to a runoff and worn out one Looking back on it. McCoughtry says she's not surprised by the results when you get a bunch of winners together. What do you think the outcome will be before she left. McCoughtry had played for the dream for about as long as left Lear's Bennett, co owner. Initially, she says players supported left Lear's leadership and her political ambitions. So first we were Excited like Oh, wow, This is cool. Kelly's running for Senate. I should be interesting. Maybe that might open indoors. But when Leffler criticized black lives matter, McCoughtry saw it as a sort of betrayal of the leaks. Players who are mostly black. How could you look your girls in the face after after that? And be an owner of a team. Other players in the league also made it clear they wanted Leffler to sell her 49% stake in the team. Last summer, the players union tweeted a photo of Leffler spelling out the words enough and out and perspective. Buyers lined up quickly, LeBron James tweeted that he was thinking of putting together an ownership group for the dream. Big names like movie bets of the Los Angeles Dodgers and tennis legend Billie Jean King replied that they were interested for her part Atlanta Dream player Tiffany Hayes thinks it's time to move on. We we we did are we Did our part like me. We got The world to see us. We got the world, you know, Vote we got George your vote, And after seeing the impact of their support for war knock, the players say they have no plans to stop mixing.
