"Anything about women's college basketball, you know about what South Carolina Don staley, her team, what they've been doing this year. I mean, to not lose a game in more than a year going for perfection, it feels like it's inevitable. Another championship for them, in your opinion, is there anybody who's going to stand in their way? Yeah, I think the team that stands in South Carolina's way is South Carolina. Even our crew, when we were doing the selection Sunday show, multiple times, we said, for a team to have success, you've got to catch up to your line on a B night, right? Like on a night where maybe ziya cooks not hot or maybe aliya Boston's getting double and triple teamed and it's working. You know what I mean? Something for South Carolina isn't working the way that they usually operate. And then you've got to be on your a game. And that's the hard part is that from what we've seen all season long, even when South Carolina is having a B game, the other team is unable to have an a game as well. So South Carolina still has ended up winning and those teams that can have an a night against South Carolina are slim. There's just not very many when you look at what you need to have component wise to play better than the gamecocks, it'll take three point shooting. It'll take efficient shots because guys, you have to think South Carolina rebounds offensively rebounds 49% of their own misses. 49%. So even a miss is almost like a pass. At that point. So there are multiplying people in terms of field goal attempts and field goal makes. And so for you, for another team, you've got to shoot a high efficiency shot because you're not going to get as many shots as them. So the ones you get, I've got to be great shots and you've got to make them. And then multiple efforts on the defensive end, you're going to need a little depth. You're going to need a little grit. You're going to need some physicality and toughness and it is doable. Is there a team that can do it? There's probably maybe a few, but it's a really, really tall task. It's definitely South Carolina versus the field right now. That offensive rebounds that is insane. I mean, from a historical perspective, just for context, historical context, where do you think this South Carolina team fits in terms of the larger history of the sport? I want a team fits in my opinion with those Yukon stretches that we saw, right? So that first you can stretch where it was, you know, and even the Tennessee stretch back in the late 90s, right, where you had the meeks and like that Tennessee team that Yukon teams with Maya Moore and Tina Charles and Tiffany Hayes that group was insane and then the Yukon team that had Brianna Stewart and Mariah Jefferson and Morgan tuck and kalina mosquito Lewis. This South Carolina team in my opinion fits with those teams. That's where I say they would fall. You mentioned her. I just want to do another minute or two on a Leah Boston because I mean, if you look through the statistical accomplishments, the awards. It's like you're scrolling endlessly on this list that never ends. How does aliyah Boston fit into what South Carolina is doing? And how good is she? Aliya Boston is the centerpiece of what South Carolina is doing by far, even if her number is not the same as last year. Everything revolves around her. And everything comes through aliyah Boston. And she's so talented. I mean, when she needs to take over a game, she has shown that she could do that. Rebound Boston. She got down. And a chance for three on a critical fourth. And she's just relentless in her will to do what the team needs her to do. And relentless in making the right decisions. Like her basketball IQ is just phenomenal. None of my watch. And we saw that happen in slow motion. But she's, she's so much fun to watch. They tip it right to aliya Boston, the all American the quick step around. Boom. Euro step from aliyah Boston right out of the gate. I mean skill set wise, the moves that she makes at the basket the way she can put the ball on the floor. So the two three zone for the wildcats. That's Boston, misses her first shot but gets the rebound and puts it back up and in and that's what you can not afford. The way she can knock down mid range jump shots, even step out and hit a three every now and then. Cross border at the Boston wide open for three bang. Aliyah Boston missed two wide open looks earlier today. She didn't miss that one in the game cost lead 72 to 61. Chicken defend on the perimeter, like at her size, she's defensive sliding and switching onto guards and doesn't even look concerned about the guard going past her or shooting over her. It's just been really amazing to watch her growth throughout her career. Yeah, that court sense is through the roof, right? You were talking before Andrea about how it's South Carolina versus the field and it's wide open when you get to the field. But obviously, Iowa and Caitlin Clark are kind of right at the top of the list of those other teams that are definitely in the mix. What do you make of Caitlin Clark and Iowa and their chances to make a deep run in this tournament? Yeah, I love Iowa's chances. You have to remember I was upset last year. And I mean, they got knocked out of the tournament early, so the bitter taste that's in their mouth is something that is going to stand and something that is going to sit with them. Those are competitive players, especially when you talk about Caitlyn Clark, but really all of them, Gabby Marshall, Monica sonata, Warnock. They're a Gritty, tough team. We were at their game against Indiana for game day, and it was so awesome. Katelyn Clark's last second three. Mind looking. His Clark, she fires and gos. She hit it. The team obviously goes as she goes, but she's, she's stronger this season. You don't see her hitting the ground as much. You see her defending better. Her shot making, but also her passing, the way they get out and transition and that's what really makes them hard. I mean, teams don't even try to offensive rebound against Iowa because they're so scared of Iowa in transition offense. So Caitlin's ability to find her teammates. She gets so much attention from the defense. She can just find her teammates. She told me that the first line of defense doesn't even bother her. It's when you send two or when you send three that she starts to get a little overwhelmed, but even that she handles like a pro. So it's so much fun. When you talk about exciting basketball, the way they knock down threes, I think I read a stat, Gabby Marshall and her last 9 games, guys, 78% from three. And that's not because that's not because she's just shooting one or two a game. Like she is knocking down three, four, 5 again. Cabbie Marshall takes the males to three that sticks. They're really exciting. The inside out play and then the hot shooting of the guards and the way that they run is just really fun to watch. I was going to say, you know, like the Steph Curry thing. I mean, is there anywhere that's not in range for Caitlin Clark and the other shooters? I mean, as soon as they get over the halfway line, basically. Yeah, that's what it seems like. That's what it seems like for sure. So Andrea, it seems like historically in the women's tournament, it's very top heavy, right? I mean, each of the last ten national champions were number one seeds. The last team to win it that wasn't number one seed was Texas a and M back in 2011. This year, there are some intriguing names, though, on that two line, including Yukon, which I think for a lot of fans is surprising. What do you expect to see from UConn and how do you sort of rate them in with those other two seeds? Yeah, I think Yukon is the number one two seed in my opinion. Now it depends on how AZ actually fuels going into the tournament, but if AZ feels 80% of what she was at the beginning of the season, like, you guys have to remember the first 6, maybe 5 or 6 games, AC was averaging 20 to four points. Like, I don't think she's going to get back to that coming back from her injury, but even if she's at 15 to 18, that team is drastically different. I mean, Caroline ducharme coming back and giving minutes off of the bench, the depth that they have. This was a number one team. This was a top ranked team early in the season before their injuries. And I think if they get back to that, we could see the same exact thing from Connecticut that we saw last year. They had a page Becker's back right before the big east tournament. And then they make a run all the way to the final four, even with page not at a 100%. So I think Connecticut, like when you talk about needing a fish and shooting, Lou Lopez and a Shaw, Aaliyah Edwards dork, you take high percentage shots, AZ bud is a sniper when she is close to fully healthy. So I think I could seek and here's the thing. They have the experience. What has it been 14 final fours in a row for Connecticut, including multiple national championships? This group has final four postseason experience, and that gives them a leg up against every other team, including the number one seed, which is a Virginia tech on their portion of the bracket. Andrea, it seems like, despite this sort of top heavy championship list, parody is still very much on the rise in women's college basketball last year, double digit seeds, Princeton Belmont, Florida Gulf Coast, they win first round games, creighton, a number ten seed gets to the elite 8 and I remember they held Caitlyn Clark to just 15 points when they beat Iowa on their way. What are the teams in this year's bracket that you think have the best chance to be Cinderella's? I mean, I think all the 8 9 seeds are definitely tough contenders, Purdue has put up some big wins this season, Alabama has a ten seat. They've got a couple of players that can get really hot. Brittany Davis is so much fun to watch for Alabama. She did not play well in their game in the SEC tournament, so I expect her to come back with a little bit of a vengeance. Middle Tennessee can score the basketball and shoot the ball really well. Georgia is a very defensive minded team. East Carolina is a very defensive minded team. There's a few that I think could really get out like marquette is a good team. They put together some really quality performances. So yeah, there's a few like 7, 8, 9, ten, 11 seeds that I think could really make a push that I'm excited to watch. And how about on the player side, one of the best parts about March Madness is sort of the star player that comes from nowhere that kind of bursts onto the scene. Is there a particular player sort of outside of the Caitlin Clark's aliyah Boston so the stars that we already know that you're keeping an eye on? Rakia Jackson for Tennessee is one for me. She transferred from Mississippi this season in her first season of freshman year of Mississippi they had a really good team. I think they were 20 wins, 6 losses, something like that. And that team would have made a push in the tournament, the tournament was canceled that year. Right. And then the next two seasons, she didn't make the tournament Mississippi state. So this is really her first appearance in the tournament, and she's had 8, 20 point games, in a row, including through the SEC tournament, including against South Carolina, 8 seconds for rakia. Austin takes over guarding her. Bounce off the backboard. You can tell we can't Jackson Woods. That battle that challenge. She is a pro in my opinion. Her Jordan horse are so much fun so rikki is one. It's an Iowa lapse in from Florida state is a freshman that has put up big time big time numbers that has been so much fun to watch. Obviously Asia recent LSU for people at home that haven't paid attention to much to the SEC, I think they're going to love watching angel Reese play. She was at Maryland last season, so a little different look there. There are a lot of players that I'm really excited for people to see just because there's just so much talent across the board. I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the first one on that list was a Tennessee volunteer, huh? Yeah, I mean, you know, just first one that came to mind. Maddie seegers from Villanova. There are four seeds, but Maddie seegers from Villanova is an absolute bucket. Like, she's the one that Rebecca lobo and I have talked about because you think, oh, Villanova and you don't think too much about Villanova, but Maddie seagrass is one to watch for sure.

"To me, it just doesn't, it doesn't make as much as that. I think to flip it back to Dallas. What they're doing is they've created a team that they really like, I think. They brought in Natasha Howard this year, resigns here, Macau and, you know, they have Veronica Burton who had a nice rookie season and is going to be even better. And then they have satsu sabi and dime the shields. The dynamic between Enrique and diamond is going to be a little weird. I think diamond will shoot better from three, but that's not the fit, but it's not going to be how mabry and rique were. It's going to have to be a little different. Right. So that's going to take some time like you said at the beginning of talking all this. That's going to take a lot of adjustment. But then they have another three first round picks. This season, they have the picks coming up in the future. This franchise is set up to continue growing. And I always see people asking, what's the plan in Dallas? I think it's a fair question. And I wrote in my newsletter ball and ordered that subsector account. I wrote about I wrote about how it's kind of like, you know, I don't know, I don't know if you ever play two K but in two K, you know, when I get a new franchise, when I get a new franchise, I like immediately trade everyone. You know, I trade all my trade all the players for draft picks. I kept bringing guys that I want. I change up everything. And I want to have to do something in the video game. So I want to do another. Yeah, we learned deal. I think Greg bibb has kind of like had that mentality. It's like, hey, this move is good. I'm going to do it. And that's great for roster building. But at some point, they need to turn the corner into team building. And I think this has to be the year for them with you should travel as the head coach has to be the year for them with a recast or leader, it has to be the year that they start going from this, hey, they have a lot of talent to, okay, this team is ready to compete and win. I think this year they have enough talent to do so. So I like what Dallas is building personally. No, I like it. Again, you know, just to have the pieces to be able to build to continually build and add to, you know, who's around Enrique goomba Walla. I mean, it's her squad right now. And no shade to anybody else. But we all clutch performer on that team. And she wants those moments. So I love that for her too. To be able to own that role and to have that trust from Greg bibb and the coaching staff as well. Just to know that we're working to get pieces around you. I mean, if I'm a rique, I'm like, let's go, you know? Let's bring them because you know how she's built, right? She wants to win. So just to have that trust from everyone in the organization, I think, is a plus for her too. It's her team. That's her team. And they did lose Alicia gray. And to a certain extent, that wasn't their choice. I think Alicia, honestly, I don't know if her problem was with the franchise or the role. I think almost what the role because she's saying, I'm a better player than the touches you're giving me. Right. I don't disagree with her. So, and so losing Alicia is a big deal and I'm not trying to. Downplay that at all. She's a big deal. Losing Marina is a huge deal. Yeah. But I just think they're kind of built, they're built well now, and they have playoff experience. They have players that they can rely on, and they have a good base for playing good defense. And that's been a problem in Dallas, you know, they got their stuff together at the end of the last year, but they're going to have to really lock in on that end of the court this year. And I think they can. So shouts Dallas, I think it's a good move. There's a New York and Phoenix element to this. I don't feel like getting into the minutiae of it. There's a lot of stuff going on. It's more minor moves, more minor moves. I do want to talk about one more major move, even though we're going along. Yeah. Tiffany Hayes. To Connecticut. For the number 6 pick from Atlanta. I love that. I love that. I love that move. Yeah. I love that. I mean, Tiffany Hayes, I mean, you know, she had some injury issues. But I mean, her presence, we were talking about leadership too. Her presence as a leader is, I mean, that's what Connecticut needs right now, right? They've lost some pieces. Obviously, John called Jones and others, but I just think that that's a perfect fit for her. And Connecticut with Stephanie white being the head coach there in her first year with the sun. I just think that's going to be a great combo with having her there. And Brie Jones resigns. Actually for a little bit less than the max, which is interesting. But you look at this team. We're talking about we're talking about Chicago. This team is full of dogs. Thai Harris tip Hayes, the wanna bonner, Alyssa Thomas, Brianna Jones, that's what you're starting 5, you gotta teach a heideman come off the bench in the cloud and our girl coming off the bench. I think they're a little thin, but I'm looking at it and I wanted to do power rank is on this episode. We're not gonna have we're not gonna have a chance to do it. But I'm like, they're right in there. You know, I'd say that with them and them in Washington are really close to each other in terms of competing with those top two teams in New York and Las Vegas. Yeah, I think tip, I mean, it's really hard to lose someone like John Cole Jones and still stay good. Yeah. You know, you look at teams that lose superstars. They don't tend to stay in contention. Right. This team did that with this move. And I think they should be really, really excited for what tip brings to kinetic and she's honestly something they need. That outside in sort of player who can spot up a little bit, that's exactly what they need. I think it's going to be really good for them. Obviously they take a step back though. I'm not trying to say they tip haze and John Paul Jones the same thing. They stay pretty close to where they were. Absolutely. And they get, you know, Atlanta gets a number 6 pick out of that. And I think that's good for Atlanta. I'm super young team that's continuing to grow and get better. I thought they had a phenomenal season last year for the youth that they had on the floor most of the time. So I think at number 6 pick in exchange for Hayes is a good move for them on the other side too. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, for sure. I like it. I like that move actually. So that's a win win. That's a win win. We'll say it. It's a win win. And it's great for Tiffany Hayes. She had when she was 12 years at 2018. 2018, they make the semifinals. Yeah. She was incredible.

"To do in Washington three years, but fully protected max raises starting at one 90. So everyone has fully protected three years. I think that someone say two for we said two years if the years are a sticking point as a ray, we are willing to add a third. Okay. So we were happy to do that from the start. I know. We offer her a starting spot if you want to. I mean, I finished most guys. Atlanta is also offering a starting spot. Yeah. Atlanta's a really interesting situation for azare. But I think in Phoenix does have a downside possibility of going forward like what happens to them, but they have proven to be pretty resilient as a franchise. And as a fan base and I just, I think, you know, being a star there is worth a lot. And there's a chance that we do get into the playoffs. But I want some more money. Can you get 200,000? I could do one 95. Washington will go to 200. Atlanta will go to one 90 and it seems clear that it's the most appealing situation. Are they just reuniting the entire Chicago sky front court that wasn't very good? Like what is happening there? I don't think is that to feel like it was situation. I mean, you're going to have a well, you're going to have someone in the two pick. Sorry, I forgot because Ryan Howard and the third pick and a good defensive coach and he's so young though. I don't more caps fame. Hey. I was already in the situation. So we definitely need high quality ball handlers and spaces. But what's the point? The player. I think. You know what? Is that Atlanta will help preserve for value over the life of her contract into the next one by having her in a better situation to get touches in her spots. Hey, Phoenix, you get up to two. You get up to the max here and we're done. Okay, well, let's be real. What does azra Stevens do to prove the cheese? That's always 7000. The max is only two O two. I understand this. It's fine. The max is fine. I'm just curious because. This is more of a fitting situation, right? I mean, who do we go to in Washington if we don't sign her? I would like to point out Chicago will engage in sign and trade if someone wants to pay her more than the match. Anybody want to do it? Well, Washington, do you have a max on the table? Yeah, we'll definitely have the max, right? I mean, you know what? I just think it's she wants to be a little bit of a star. I think she has not had that opportunity. She's had the opportunity to be a great role player on a great team. But she hasn't had the opportunity to have the ball in her hands and be someone who a team really counts on them that way. And I think that would be something that would be very attractive to her. Considering the money is the same, considering the protection is the same. Sabrina, you got yourself a free agent. Let's go. Way to go. All right. So there we go. Azure Stephens to Phoenix. Man, Mike T Bo's wame. The name doesn't care anymore weight in this league. You have a starting 5. Well, it's supposed to sound. No, I know, but he's still the GM, right? Anyhow. Let's move on. It might be more, I don't know. I'm assuming what you would want, right? I would think if I was her, I would want to have the spots guaranteed. And I think I'll have to get the ball. We'll live with the results. What can I need to work on my ability to make a pitch? No, your pictures are the pictures are good. You just don't have a great situation. Sabrina ran into this problem for the last two years here. That it was just like, not selling me much. But she had good pictures. I think this might be the first free agent you've ever gotten with Phoenix, by the way. I want to say I got like crystal Bradford last year. You did a Christmas. It was a rough rough time. She's doing a can her own now. Last I checked, at least. At least defensively, offensively. So, all right, we're kind of getting into the area where it's a little bit more amorphous as to who we're going into, you know, we still have one name that I think is just as good as players we mentioned, but they're in a very weird situation. I think Tiffany Hayes is a big deal. I don't know what's going to happen to her. Is she like basically I just going back to Atlanta? I don't know. I don't know what the situation is like in real life. So I mean, which matters to us in terms of the relationship. Yeah, well, league office explain the cap situation happening with Tiffany Hayes and why it's confusing. Yeah, so Tiffany Hayes ended the season on a bit of a ambiguous note with Atlanta. Some people at first reported that it was unexpected, then it was clarified that it was expected, but the exact timing wasn't quite known. So just as a result, she ends the season temporarily suspended, not really punishment just for not being with the team. And as a result, she falls under the category of suspended contract spiders. So right now, Atlanta does have the exclusive negotiation rights, they could trade those rights, they could waive those rights and give her unrestricted free agency. Or they could just hold on to that. They have quite a bit of leverage there. I think, honestly, that might be the first decision. Atlanta, would you be interested in trading her rights or letting her writes run out or I well, cynically, I don't want to let her write laps I would like to pitch it to Gabe just to sort of express whether he thinks that Hayes would be interested in returning to Atlanta. Yeah. Is that situation seems salty? I mean, you have to give me some money. We're looking at we're thinking of two years guaranteed at a 185 flat. Two years guaranteed a 185 flat now. In a universe where she is not have the exclusive rights here. Is anyone else going to beat that? No? Done yet? We're good. That's chilling. I mean, she wants a starting spot, right? I'm going to have the same problem in Washington, right? She wouldn't be starting over Alicia Clark would be gone in this situation. Yeah, I guess she could. I mean, yeah, certainly we could try that if we think that fed. Looking for talents. I mean, basically, that's why this way is, I mean, so Jacob, do WNBA teams have the right to allow players under suspended contracts to communicate with other teams to facilitate a potential sign and trade. That's a really good question. I know in theory this comes up with core qualifying offers. I think it happened a couple of years ago where I forget who exactly, but someone would have been better.

"At the minutes distribution. Look at who leads the league in minutes. Look at. Oh my God. Oh way. No way. No way. Did that not? Are you on your Wi-Fi on your phone though? Take it off your Wi-Fi on your phone. Someone said Thanos a minute. Man, we need to go that way. And so sorry for this. But anyways, this is hilarious. It's actually in there. It's a very entertaining. So yeah, I am worried. I feel like we've seen a drop off in Kelsey plum in her production lately. You do have one of the two best players in the world. So that always helps. But death is huge, especially in the playoffs in a series. Becky Hammond coaching experience as far as the WBA goes. I mean, she's one of the most tenured coaches as far as experience goes, but still different. So the WNBA. So I don't know. I mean, I feel like I've been worried about their defense for a long time, but sometimes they do get up for big games. You see how they limited Seattle the other day to think 80 points and Sue's last game. And then they give up 88 points to 6 players in Atlanta. And Elena was down Tiffany Hayes, Nia coffee, morning billings, Chrissy Wallace, in a game where I don't say it wasn't a must win, but you should have dominated that game. If you're the team that you are with the crazy offensive production, be dominant and they weren't. And so that kind of worries me a little bit from that perspective, but still so much talent on this roster even if it's only in four players minus champion. So yeah, I wouldn't say I feel as confident in them, I wouldn't have them in my top four or top three right now as far as confidence level goes. Okay, interesting. Yeah, man, I'm with you. I'm with you. I mean, I think the defense has been concerning for a while, but plum falling off a little bit. You know, hopefully they can get a little bit of rest, right? And feel a little bit better heading into the playoffs. I think that helped them lock it and that all star break after the first half. 'cause they look tired at the end of the first half. And it makes sense, right? Because there's 5 players playing the large chunk of the big minutes and doing a lot of the heavy lifting. So by the end of your whatever run, your first half of these in second half of the season, going into the playoffs, you're going to be tired. So it makes sense. It makes sense why they'd be tired now, but I am, I feel like they're a little bit shaky, and this isn't to take away anything at all from these players who have played magnificent basketball season long. I mean, Asia Wilson is my MVP. Chelsea gray in the last. Two weeks has been Jesus. I'm real. I'm real, and she's doing, you know, she's doing ma'am. I was watching, so thinking basketball, great YouTube channel. Had that video where he tracked all of Michael Jordan's postseason games? And he kind of tracked how far back Michael Jordan was going on the fadeaways. And like Michael eventually got to 47%, 47° lean on the fadeaways. And we're getting there with Chelsea gray because she's doing it to everyone. She was doing it to her black and scenario Atkins is very long and was in her face and she was still able to head over justice gray has been amazing and handy was having a great season right up until the end. I actually think Kia stokes is having a really nice season too. It can be first half of the season handy for sure. Yes, for sure. First half of the season the hamburger was really good. And then obviously Kelsey palm was getting Kelsey and Jackie were getting MVP nods, you know, so maybe they can, I think their ceiling is very high. But they're also a team with a floor. Really low. So Calvin, are you also worried? Are you with us? Yeah, definitely. I mean, I'm worried because of the handy's injury, number one, and I'm also worried, I mean, part of that ceiling in that floor, this team takes a lot of threes. It may allow a lot of threes. They're in the top three on both sides of the ball in terms of three point rate top three and 3.8 and I should say bottom three and 3.8 allowed. So when you have so many threes being chucked up on both sides, that's a really high variance style of basketball that you're playing, which does leave you do that high seal. I think I have a higher ceiling than the sky, but they also do have a really low floor if they get cold if an opponent gets hot, you know, who knows, and especially, I mean, even though handy down the stretch maybe wasn't the same player as she was in May now obviously she's hurt. When you still, I mean, I don't think I'm telling anyone new when I read these numbers. This has been a talking point that's been hammered home all throughout the year. But when you look at the on off stats, the 5 starters, including handy, they're all above 11. They're all in the double digits in terms of the difference, their net rating when they're on the court when they're off. Everyone else is negative. There's a gap from 11 to negative two when you go from 5 to 6 on the aces. It's a huge deal. And they could get away with that when they were doing that for limited stretches end of the first beginning of the second, you know, whatever when they're able to play all 5 of those, but now all 40 minutes, they're gonna have to have one of those other players below that cut line on the court. It's Kia stokes obviously in the starting lineup. I know you said she's had a great season. She's not Derek and handy. So I think this team is definitely vulnerable. "We're back with WNBA stocks where we check the pulse on the market. Today is July 4th, so we have a special episode for you. Let me do a real quick recap of what we've seen over the last three weeks. And where we've seen the teams move from there. Three weeks ago, we had New York and Seattle as our up team and Dallas in Atlanta as our down team. Two weeks ago, Chicago, Minnesota up and Phoenix and Las Vegas down. And last week, New York and LA up in Indiana and Seattle down. And this week, we're going to start it with our up teams, a little positive note, we'll let Owen go first, Owen, who's your update this week? All right, I'm excited to get into it this week. I was watching, you know, I watched all four games yesterday and this was the team that I really was I was rearing to go this morning just excited to talk about the Atlanta dream. Stock is up, definitively up and the vibes are great in Atlanta. So here's the thing, like just to do a little recap, if you haven't been following the season closely, right? We come into the season and Atlanta is expected to be in pure rebuilding mode. They had the number one pick in this year's draft. They traded for it. And selected Ryan Howard, who is proving to be a star immediately. But no one expected Atlanta to contend this year. I think most of us shout out to be Terrell, who may have been the one person who had the faith out there. But for the most part, everyone expected the dream to be in the lottery again. And that would be fun. They start the season under new head coach tanisha Wright with a truly historically good defense to start the season. And due to this stifling defense, they win a lot of games at the start of the season and all of a sudden they're in the playoff picture. And then the offensive woes become a greater and greater problem and they start to fall and they start to lose games and we say, okay, this is kind of what we expected from this bunch, right? They're showing development, but this is not a team that's really going to be that good in the here and now. And lo and behold, this week, things really shifted and I think that the major reason why is that they gained well, they gained two pieces back, but one in particular, Tiffany Hayes returns and really makes everything fall into place for this group. She comes back and completely changes the way this offense is able to operate because there was just too much pressure on Ryan to carry the entire load as a rookie. And she was doing quite an admirable job. But Atlanta's last in the league in offense, they're still last in the league in offense as of today recording this podcast. But what we've seen over the last two games and this is really what I want to get into here. Is the race for these last three playoff spots is going to be really intense, right? The top 5 is pretty definitive right now. You know, I'm not sure the exact order we stand right now, but Chicago, Connecticut, Las Vegas, Seattle, Washington, are the top 5. Those are playoff locks. The last three spots are entirely up for grabs and basically everyone but Indiana is a contenders. So you got 16 teams for three spots. And so any game in which any of these 6 teams are playing one another is going to be incredibly important for the playoff race. So Atlanta was actually my stock watch when we recorded last Monday. And they were my stock watch because they had some of those games on the schedule this past week where they were going up against teams kind of in their tier contending for 6, 7 and 8 in the playoff race. So Thursday night in New York, one of the contenders for best game of the season. I mean, it was electric. It was one of the best crowds that Barclays has had this year. Maybe the best. And the other person who came back and has really clicked things into place for this team is Erica Wheeler, who never gets enough credit, but it is one of the main reasons why this defense has been so good this year. She was she was just giving Sabrina some serious issues. And what I love about this team is now that Tiffany Hayes is here to kind of make the offense click into place a little bit and be that go to scorer that now some of these other players can kind of settle in to tertiary roles, if you will, and are just killing it in those roles. So a few names I want to mention, Christy Wallace, playing awesome defense on the perimeter, knocking down threes. AD, who, you know, really was not able to gain any sort of rhythm in New York. They get traded to the dream and have really been killing it off the bench just knocking down over 40% of threes since getting to Atlanta. Nas hillman, a steal of the draft not playing a ton of minutes, but playing really good minutes off the bench. Kia von is someone who is just been kind of an amazing WNBA vet for a long time. It feels like now playing really solid minutes. And then you've got, you know, the more key pieces that we talk about a lot, Ari McDonald, one of my favorite players in this league, just an incredible defender for her size at the guard position and really starting to find her groove offensively. And Cheyenne Parker, who is someone who played exceptionally well in the bubble in 2020 for Chicago. And then last year had a child and played a little bit, but obviously was not her full self on the court. And is just has been dynamic, frankly. And so on Thursday night, they beat the liberty in an amazing game that goes to overtime Erica Wheeler with a legendary buzzer beating three to send it to overtime. And then they just, you know, they kicked stomped New York right out of the building in overtime. And then they traveled back home and yesterday just demolished the Seattle storm, not even a competitive game starters not playing the fourth quarter. So some huge wins for Atlanta in the playoff race..

"Help and safety protocols. Did you hear this thing about Arthur that the, this is today? But the Celtics are like trying to get him a million tests today. So to see if he can play in the game tonight? Yeah. Yes, they have two negative tests. That was the same thing for, you know, the same role in the WNBA. I don't know how that works. They need to be 24 hours apart. Whatever, go heat. Whatever. Hey, they can bring out whoever they want. They can bring out Larry Bird, bring out Kevin. I don't care. I don't bring them out. Play whoever. Play whoever you want. You said Kevin McHale walked into the door. They kind of walked through that door, but Russell I walked through the door. Bring them. Whoever wants to play. Whoever wants to play on the Celtics. Bring back Paul Pierce. Let's see it. Love to play him. Oh my gosh. Cagey, welcome to the door either. I hear you. I'm hyped up. I'm hyped up. I love it. Game two of the Eastern Conference Finals is tonight. I'm excited for that one. A couple other news things. We got to it pretty much all of the players that were in Europe are now back. Elizabeth Williams coming back to copper is coming back Tiffany Hayes going back. I think they're all done with their playing obligations. It's just when the teams want to bring them back when they have games. So that should normalize out this week. I would imagine there's going to be like a week of like adjustment period of like, oh, we don't want her to play or whatever. So I think by next week we'll be totally fine. The other news that dropped here before we got on the podcast, Jocelyn Willoughby of the New York liberty out 6 weeks. She has a quad tear, which is really tough. Oh boy, that sounds tear, and she was playing well. Too for them. Yeah, I wrote about her. I just thought she was such a good defender and after a year, two years of injury, she looked really, really strong. So I just wanted to give a shout out to her and then say prayers up to her because I want to see her back on the court. So it's 6 weeks, so she'll be back a couple mid June. Yeah, I was going to say probably late you. Yeah, I'll start. Yeah, we're on that time. Oh man. Wow, that's a blow. And they need her. You know, to get back over the hump over there. One and four. Yeah. So that's all the news. Also that I want to tell you guys you can still donate to Debbie antonelli's 24 hours of nothing but nuts. Campaign, they are like $7000 short of their goal and I think we can get them there pretty quick. I donated earlier today, so if you got a second go and donate for the special Olympics, great cause, Debbie's obviously a friend of the program friend of her group stats. Absolutely. And her son, Frankie graduated from life. Oh my gosh, Frankie, I love his journey and who was standing right there with him with his cap on. Debbie antonelli. Oh my God. I love her so much. So Debbie hope you're listening and definitely gonna shout out to your shoot to your own falls off campaign because that's terrible. I don't know if she doesn't. I love it. I don't know how Debbie does most of the things. All of the things she does. I don't know. I don't know how you do all the things you do either like to be honest. Well, no, that's her. She's, you know, I'm way behind her with what she does with her time of day and all the great things, but you know, first and foremost, it's just the mom that she is, you know? I just love how she advocates for kids, especially Frankie, and to see him with the hat on and just, oh, I just took me by using the cutie pie, but just knowing, you know, his journey and knowing that she's been in lockstep with him. A special, very sweet. Every day's Mother's Day, by the way. The moments like that, especially when you see moments like that, so really fun. Really beautiful. All right. Yeah, and if you want to donate, I'm gonna put the link in the doobly doo the description there. That's what it's called. And that's all I got. We have anything else you want to mention? Oh man, no, I just, you know, the mystics are back home for the DMV. They're back home on Sunday at three against Chicago, and I meet some of my makes for a return along with Candice Parker and Ali Kigali and Courtney van der sloot, van der quigg's. So it should be a fun game, you know? Elizabeth Williams may play in that game. We don't know yet. Just speculative at this point, but that would be a great game. And if you can't get down to the SA, it's on ABC at 3 o'clock. So make sure you guys check that out, but I guess that's it for us on court side with Christine Gabe for this episode. We don't have to go home, but we got to get up out of here, but we will be courtside with you next time right here on her hoop stats podcast network for Gabe Ibrahim. I'm Christy winter Scott. "Want to go down. So choose your own adventure. As you mag bogor, very interested in her. Kennedy Carter. Fascinating intriguing player and intriguing situation. And Tiffany Hayes, those would be the last three on my list I haven't gone to, which one do we want to go down to the path with? All right. I have, as you may borrow on my face, a team. So I'm going to choose her as my adventure. Okay, let's do it because speaking of people on the scale up, people that need to step up for this team's ultimate goal. Seattle is ultimate goal is to win a championship. Their brand steward and they need to make her happy this year because she's Russell is out right now too. That's the big thing. So the Mercedes Russell is out for three to 5 weeks with a mysterious injury that we have not I don't think we've gotten any clarification. A non basketball injury is all about seeing. Well, you know, I suffer non basketball injuries getting out of the bed. So I really know what the hell that means. But with, I don't know if she can scale up her offensive production. I don't know what she needs to do offensively, really, to be able to do Mercedes does. I think she's developed nicely, hasn't really taken that a huge step, but she's like 22, 23 now. She's very young still. Super young. So I think the defense has been there, but she needs to get better on that side. She needs to scale up her offense. And she needs to be able to fit with the players around her, namely Brianna Stewart. And figure out exactly what to do to support stewie and make sure that, I mean, I hope she got a little bit bigger. You know, I hope you got a little bit stronger 'cause she was a little thin coming into the league. And I think she's a little thin last year. So she can get stronger, maybe she can turn into Natasha Howard, in a way, in a way. I'm not sure if she's gonna be that good, but if she can turn into that player that can be kind of a depot esque player on all defense candidate. While also providing enough offense to keep the team afloat, well then here we have a championship contender. I think we have a championship contender. That's why I'm intrigued by Eddie because I need her to be that good in order for this team to be where I think they're going to be. Yeah, that's interesting because there are those players in the league who just make a career out of being really good in not a lot of minutes. Right. And as soon as they are asked to take on a bigger role, whether it's just.

"This team have improved substantially by simply just staying mentally engaged in the second half connected to the league and then there's all of a sudden there's a lot of room for improvement. And I think if they believe in the coach and what they're doing there, you could see something like that happen with this group. So I do like that. I do think it's fair to put some of the failures of last season on the fact that there was a lot going on that didn't have to do with basketball. So I'd agree with you. I think if you're in Atlanta dream fan, you have to take some heart in that. And the last year, the performances that you were seeing on the court last year wasn't reflective of the type of talent that you actually have on that roster. And at least had on that roster. Now, obviously there were some pretty key departures talent wise in players like Courtney Williams, players like Elizabeth Williams and Kennedy Carter. Those are some big names that left the dream roster. You're left to piece together what else you have. Now, if it land wanted to. Play small ball and up tempo. They actually could do some pretty good damage this year. They have one of the deepest backcourts that I've seen in the history of us covering this leak. Tiffany Hayes obviously, you brought up and she's kind of a face of that franchise. She's been with Atlanta for, I don't know, almost a decade now. Ari McDonald's also fun, exciting guard out of Arizona. A lot of people kind of really were introduced to her coming into that final four run. That she made it Arizona. And I think that we hopefully can see a little bit more out of her moving forward. You mentioned Erica Wheeler at the guard position coming in. She's got a lot of speed. Ryan Howard, the current number one draft pick from just this season. Atlanta obviously believes is going to come in and make a major difference. They traded up to get hurt from third to first. Hoping that she's going to be that big step forward for them. You might be the first number one pick we've had.

"Point is to lose. The point is to lose. I will look lint done in the eyes and tell her this. You can't do it. I would. You can't put 7 WNBA with other roster and expect to win anything. You're going to come back with the nub you go to. And that's fine. She can not, hey, that's fine. But I'm not believing that this team is in any way, shape or form. Expect it to win even a modicum of games. Like they're going to, they're going to be bad and then you know what, they're going to be next year. They're going to be bad again next year, and then the year after that, they may be awesome. That's just how it's going to work. Because there's so many young. The babies. I know, but I don't want to, I don't know. I guess I'm just always the glass half full. I never want to give them any. If we're coming in every day and we're busting our bus in practice, you would run in. We're executing our plays. We have games. I'm not going to go in and say like, do your best honey. And if we lose, it's okay. There's no way they're going to have that mentality. If that's what happens, that's what happens. But trust and believe, they're going to go out there and they're going to fight. They're going to go out there and compete. And they're not going to go out there half step in. They're not going to go out there halfway pressing on the gas. We floor in that sucker. And they're going to be playing hard. And if they lose, they lose, but it's not going to be because they're not going hard. No, I think they're going hard. We're just going to no, no. It's not that they're going to lose because they're not talented they're not playing hard. They're going to lose because they're inexperienced, they have no idea how to play with each other. And are starting, again, they have 7 rookies on the team. I can't get behind it. Okay, and also Tiffany Hayes, please, show out for me because I love Tiffany Hayes. She's one of my favorite players in the league. And I think she's been good for a while. It's just been like really weird in Atlanta the last few years. I think this year, they have a team that makes more sense around there. Again, I don't think they're trying to win because they shouldn't be because you want to leave a Boston. I'm calling this group actually me as the balaam for Boston or a losing for Aaliyah. That's why that one's bad. That sounds bad. It was bad but it's also funny. They're a losing for Aaliyah, but I just think Atlanta is pretty good. I think it lasts pretty good. I think we have to pump the brakes on how much they're winning. I think Indiana is going to get a go right into it. I think you're going to get back that up. Might be pleasantly surprised. I don't know, but that's just me. I've always, you know, I'm hopeless, optimist, so. Maybe we should start at the bottom. This is our most disagreement. Really was. We were pretty much, you know, kumbaya all the way through to 11 and 12. We were. And fever fans, before it's way too late, you've already got mad at me. If you're listening. But it's too late. But I do believe in what they're building personally. I just don't. They're not building for now. It's not for twice. Not a now team you're thinking of. I just never say no. You have them winning more than 6 games. I do. Okay. And that could be 7, but it could be, it's more than 6. I would say less than 6, if I had to. Ahead of it 66, it's probably sounds right to me, but less than 6 about. Atlanta is more than 8. They'll have 6 by all star. And we can hear it. I'm writing that down. Thank you promise on that. Yeah, put a sticky like, you know, Ernie and then be on TNT. I'm gonna put sticks. You know what? You're right. I'm gonna put some stickies here and we're gonna put it up there. 'cause I want to see it. We'll have 6 wins by the all star break. Yeah, that's on one of the post at school. Oh, you know, we should have done some predictions. We'll do that next week. Yeah, one week into the season predictions next week. We planned out the show. Okay, I'm done. I'm done. Well, they cut the lights off. They've got bless America. That means we got to get up out of here. We don't have to go home, but we will see you on Friday. Yes. For the mystics home opener against the Indiana fever, which they're gonna win that game now, damn it. You have to be there for many reasons, especially for my post it note that's gonna be up on the wall behind game. But until then, we will see you at ESA. We will see you at all of the WNBA games to start this great 26th season of the league and we can't wait for another exciting summer. But we gotta get up out of here. "If you're making matter here too, they're going to eventually end up purposely losing at some point. They're going to end up resting players because guess what? You want to Leah Boston more than you want ten wins in the season rally. But I think they're going to compete early in the season. I think they're talented. I think Tiffany Hayes is way better than pretty much any of the players on Indian. I think she's, I think she's far and away the best player of these two teams. I hear what you're saying and I do like the composition of the Atlanta dream. I really do. However, I don't know. There's just something about when I was looking at, you know, what Indiana has done in the pre season in particular, just in the way that a lot of the rookies are playing big minutes and producing big numbers. To me, that's been quite impressive. And they're not playing college. They're playing other WNBA teams. And they're kind of playing other college teams though. Just a little bit. And the reason they're kind of playing. That's just okay. Technicality. But I think that they're ready for the opportunity. They're ready to fight, and they're ready to show what they have. And the same goes for Atlanta in that respect. With a lot of young players in their first or second season. So I get it. But I'm still keeping Indiana Atlanta. All right, that's fun. We're not going to tear these two teams. Oh, well, in the same tier, but now honestly, I'm thinking about it. I'm like, Indiana's in their own here at the bottom. I think this team, if it wasn't that New York was playing in the bubble and they could only win two games, I would say this team has a chance to be one of the worst in WNBA history. The.

"So that situation just worked so beautifully for both parties because I think there was some fear on Courtney's end of it of, oh gosh. Am I going to be able to play in this league again? Because of this incident and because of everything that happened. I mean, I remember, I think when Marcus Crenshaw, her agent was talking about everything that was going on. He was very anxious about it, too. So I think just this works out so well for both parties and clearly we all go back to what happened in the All-Star Game when John quell and Courtney were just sort of so happy to be playing together again. And so hopefully we'll see some of that joy and what Courtney provides in the backcourt, someone who can close. That's exactly what they needed. I mean, breon January was fabulous for them during the regular season. But it's like they have a ton of people who are great defenders. They need more offense in the back or that's what Courtney gives them. Now, Tiffany Hayes, oh my gosh, that's someone who I wouldn't have thought of. But I do, I love that, though. Because she was before getting injured last season. She was fantastic. And she'll hopefully be able to just be herself in whatever way tanisha Wright constructs this because Atlanta has been saying over and over again. First, we're going to get the personnel, the people that we really like really good cultural people that we like. And then we're going to figure out the basketball end of it. And so part of me gets that, but then another part of me is like, you got to have sort of some vision as to what type of identity you want to have. I mean, I'm not saying that you have to be like Walt Hopkins and say it's either this way or no.

"Or in between. Like, you have two young guards, right? You need to shape these young players, and this is a situation of is Kennedy going or are you going to be that superstar who wins them a championship? I don't know. They definitely have the potential to do that if you ask me. But I will say you need some vets to kind of show them the ropes. They're very successful college athletes 100%. You're no longer the cock of the walk. You're no longer the big fish on campus. This is now a situation where you're going up against people who have been doing, I mean, honestly, people who have been playing professionally for as long as they've been playing basketball period. And that's not even like a crazy comment. Like this one in a situation where they need people to set examples, people to show them how professionals do it, and that's not a knock against them. That's what every young player needs. The questions in my mind are kind of okay, what does tanisha and Dan and the rest of this coaching staff slash front office staff whatever you want to call it? Feel on the players like Tiffany Hayes, Elizabeth right? Mow billings restricted free agents. They have these matches anywhere they go. I like the idea of bringing her back. 100%. And I think you gotta throw Candace to pre in there, because Candice Dupree is one of the most veteran players in this league. Now, tail end of her career, but she's one of the most professional players. And literally went to Indiana when they were struggling and we're trying to rebuild and that was her purpose was to be that steady force. Now, obviously, she's an unrestricted free agent. That's not set in stone, but if I'm Atlanta, Candice Dupree is that type of character of player in person that can help mentor this team and win the locker room and keep this team on track where it needs to be. That's just my opinion. No, I agree. I mean, look, if we look at who is on roster last year and who's currently a free agent, right? We're looking at mobile Elizabeth Williams Courtney Williams Strickland Odyssey Sims. Tiffany Hayes canister pre like diedrich and crystal Bradford. Now, I know the reports of Bradford and Courtney Williams. So I'm not going to include them in this because I do think that crystal would be a type of player who I would want to bring back. If the statements were already made, if there weren't certain situations, she's the type of player who I'd like to bring back because she is, you know, she's a shape heady style player. And by that, I mean a journeyman. Someone who has been through the ups and downs who got to play the long career. Yeah, and like knows what it takes to never give up and just keep hustling, keep fighting to get their roster spot. She's the type of player if I know that, you know, like, look, let's be blunt. I know this isn't the topic of the episode. We've talked about this before, probably, but if we haven't, I want to be on record saying this. Courtney Williams and crystal Bradford with that whole off court altercation situation. I'm not going to speak to that. What I'm going to speak to is the fallout from that of Atlanta saying we're not bringing either them back. I don't think that was like the biggest news ever considering their unrestricted free agents. So that's like them saying we're not bringing brand a Stewart to the team. Realistically, what does it fit? Was it going to happen? Fine. Whatever. My point is more so. That for me, my feeling of sadness and my feelings go out for crystal Bradford, right? Courtney Williams is an all star. Courtney Williams has established herself, she was getting bank last year for the Atlanta dream when she moved from going to the finals with Connecticut to the Atlanta dream. You know, there was obviously some thoughts of her being one of the stars of this team. It didn't pan out properly. Obviously, because we're here now. But talking about crystal Bradford, she's the one, right? Like teams are more willing to overlook off court stuff if they feel you can give them more on court, right? And because crystal Bradford doesn't have as much eyes on her, doesn't have as much game tape and doesn't have that all star background. Currently yet in the W I think she could be. I feel like she's the one who's gonna be most impacted by that. And I hope we see her in the league again because from the days of watching her in Israel playing in the Israeli league, I remember watching and saying this player needs to be in the W. From then seeing her get a roster spot in Atlanta and the way she played and obviously I'm biased, we had her on the podcast, you know, she was a great interview. Check out that episode shameless plug. But she's a player who I would like to see have a shot, a shot in this league. Back to what I'm saying, honestly, you look at this roster and Candice Dupree and mo billings are the ones that I would consider bringing back. You know, like Tiffany Hayes, great plays that type of ball that you would like, whatever, but like at the end of the.

"Kalia copper has now been designated a core player by Chicago. So Chicago gets the exclusive negotiating rights. Nobody else can touch kaliya copper. But Chicago can't now gore Steph dolson or Courtney Vander salute or Ali quigley. So that's like they're giving up their right to core those players to in order to core copper. That's the designations that you need to be made aware of as we go through this episode today. Hopefully that made sense to everybody as we discussed that. So Jason, let's go ahead and start things off. We're going to kind of go team by team and then as players who were previous with previously with those teams arise, we can talk about individual players. And if they are likely to stay with their current team, or if they're likely to bounce, go get picked up somewhere else. Let's start with the Atlanta dream. What do you say, what do you say, I almost said, Steve, what do you say, Jason? Let's do it. Steve making an appearance. Let's go to Atlanta, the land of only upsides. That's what I'll call Atlanta right now. Land of only upside. All right. Atlanta has a lot of cap space to work with. I see Atlanta. I'm glad we're starting here. They might be the most interesting team in this off season as far as who they could try and go out and chase and throw big money at. They've got 836,000 in cap space. So they've got a lot of money to spend, but they've got a lot of players that are kind of, you know, potentially, well, they're roster looks has the most question marks in my opinion. Yeah. Courtney Williams is a free agent Atlanta has already said they're not bringing a corny back. Because of the altercation that she and crystal Bradford were in. So Courtney's gone. She's not going to be she's not going to be brought back, which stinks because Courtney was such a huge integral part of the team last season. But they're moving on from Courtney, they're going to find somebody else to replace her. They also have Tiffany Hayes, Odyssey Sims, and Elizabeth Williams as unrestricted free agents. Jason, what are your thoughts on Atlanta? Who do you see them potentially sticking with? Who do you think is likely to stay in Atlanta? Who do you think they're going to target as far as unrestricted free agents? And who do you think, you know, and is there anybody else that you have an eye if you were Atlanta that you'd have and I go through a pile of money and try and snag somebody to come join your team? So if I'm Atlanta recently had an ownership change, they recently had a team president change. Very much looking for the future and I feel like having so much cap space my read on Atlanta's mindset is, hey, let's assume nothing as set in stone and let's just keep all of our options open. That said, I think they throw some money at Tiffany Hayes. I think Monique billings is restricted. I think they keep her. But honestly, other than that, I think everybody's on the table, and maybe even Tiffany Hayes is on the table where go out and get some new and some interesting talent. I think there's going to be some people dropping out of Seattle and Chicago that would be very interesting for Atlanta. Specifically, you're looking at maybe those like first bench players from each of those teams. So, yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking if I'm Atlanta is what we have now isn't working. So let's just kind of wipe the board clean and drop a new team from scratch. So I don't expect them to keep a lot of people expect them to use that cap space to go out and have some fun. As far as picking a name that I would go out and make an offer to. A stef Dawson would be somebody I might make an offer to. She's one that came to my mind as well. Steph, and actually diamond to shields. I think that those two out of Chicago would be names, I would be heavily interested in if I was Atlanta for sure. Yeah. Well, especially Steph Olsen, I think she increased her stock a lot this last year, both with the three X three performance and then also with play during the season. And honestly, Chicago, I think is going to have to free up a little bit of breathing room. And in order to make some moves that we'll get to when we talk about Chicago, but I could see the breathing room coming in the terms of stuffed Olson and I think Atlanta would be very interested. I think that'd be a good move. Yeah, diamond shields is a good one. I mean, why not just write out a max contract and see if jewel Lloyd wants to show up? I take your swing. I mean, you might as well, I think that makes a ton of sense. We're going to talk about Joe Lloyd here in next team, actually. Very next team. But if I'm Atlanta, I go for jewel Lloyd. I think that she's a player that has MVP potential. And obviously, you know, could be a huge, huge part of a team moving forward. But I agree with you. I don't think I throw max money at Tiffany Hayes. I think just because this sounds so rude because she's not but she's starting to get older as far as her as far as in comparison to the league. So I don't know if I'm throwing money there. She's had a little bit of injury issue. Odyssey Sims, I don't know. I think she's obviously a solid player. If I'm Atlanta, I agree with you. I think Elizabeth Williams and Monique billings are.

"Personality is one that chill. She's the best. I used to be there. There's there's a lot of personalities that are on twitter. They're very fun like i think. Asia wilson's a real easy to go to tweeting all the time very fun personality sharing funny stuff to docs from the locker room Neka is a very. there's reason she's like the voice of the players association. She is a very down to earth. Very even keel like when when she was snubbed from team usa. I know must have hurt. And it was her circle. That was kind of vouching for her on her behalf but she took it on the gin and juice. Yeah that's just who she is steps. I yeah i mean that's gonna play. She's gonna go play. Like i was able to media credentials for the twenty nineteen all star game. You know it was a cool opportunity to to see a lot of these players close. And i mean it when i just one of the friendly friendly doesn't even touch with her. She's one of those people that berry much. She goes to every player she. She gives him a hug. Sees that she she very much is taking her player. Players union position very seriously in caring for these people and that's on her mind on top of everything else but it's one of those things that it just adds to this whole litany of. It's really frustrating. That we have these two rosters. And she's not represented there and you know the excuses that i've heard from team. Usa and specifically did not sit. Well me but that's a whole different discussion. Be fun to have a lot of uconn fans telling me that sucked now but you. That's a frustrating case. I i had. Maybe i didn't williams i. That was my case. Currently the difficulty with this is there was a twelve team roster. But you only get ten votes. I only had four back court votes in. And so courtney was kind of my one out. It looks like maybe was the one out for you I thought maybe it was kind of one of the breakout star players. Who deserve that nod. But i was surprised to see sabally in that same vein but it's tough because it's not like she hasn't played up to it. I just think if you're going to only have two players from dallas and you have to have Then may be made more sense to me personally attic. that's there there's also I don't know who. I would have replaced her with. But i. I saw a lot of people disappointed. Tiffany hayes didn't get in. And i didn't really realize this until i went digging into the numbers but there is a valid case for that Tiffany hanes didn't have a three point shot until this year basically and then. She added that element to her game. This is i guess. What ninth year in the league. She shooting forty five percent from three. She never had a season above forty percent before this And she's averaging over seventeen points per game plan really well. So that's one that feels like if the dream had a couple more wins in the w column. Maybe she gets in. Yeah not enough not enough of a light on the atlanta during this year to get her in. But that is i hear you. If you were a tiffany hayes voter. I think you add some serious ground to stand on. I get it no definitely so. It's i mean overall. Now that i've had time to look at the roster right the rosters. I feel you know. I think more in tune. To what i'm seeing and i think there's a there's a lot of fun to be had as we dig through this. I'm interested to see how seriously they're going to allow these rosters to go at it. Because i'm pretty sure. Dawn staley is saying. I need all ligaments. And tendons healthy on my team heading into tokyo. And so i think it'll be a fun event. I more than anything. I'm excited to be honest. If there's anything. I'm excited to see the ninety sixteen roll out and get the love. They deserve to be cool. They should be. They should team usa. I like the idea by the way of having team. Usa rests and letting twa play the ninety sixteen per quarter. Maybe hey we. This is a good time to plug as any. We're going to be at the all star game. The four of us are going to go live fourteenth. We're going to be in vegas assuming that our flight gets us there and we we wanna see you guys so just taking this time we. We still have a little bit episode left after this. But i just. I wanted to segue that because i i'm getting pumped for and it's getting pretty close so if you're going to be out there tweet at us. Dm us let us know. We'll we'll come up with a meeting location. Maybe we'll catch some top golf or something. Get to hang out with all you guys. But all all-star fun. I hear the vegas top a riot We have. that's pretty cool. But i hear that one's pretty sweet so just wanted to throw that out of their apologies for interrupting but that is going to be. The ninety sixteen is going to be sweet. And anytime i know. There's a little bit of Not animosity but there's some drama around the team. Usa announcement this year because of the neka snub. I'm still super excited to go. Watch a team..
