Loosing Belief in the Afterlife Causes Cowardice With John Zmirak

"As people lose faith in an afterlife. This life is everything. The next twenty to thirty years of takeout is the entire universe as i was saying in the previous segment. You don't believe in an afterlife or don't strongly believe in it. You're gonna cling to this one so desperately. I thank god at the invasion of normandy when our men got off those ships and had these horrendous casualties rates. I'm glad those were believers in god. I think if they had been modern liberal twitter consumers they would be weighing within months. Is it really worth risking the destruction of the entire universe. That is me. that's all i care about. Is it really worth joint. Care that much about concentration camps two thousand miles away. That's that affect me. Nazis probably won't conference the united states. I'm going to be fine. I'm not risking my life over this. That kind of selfish but covering looking out for number one leads to cowardice. It also leads to tierney. It's called an eighty one year olds sixty two year journey with type one diabetes. Well that got my attention. I've talked to quite a few people over the years who have lived a very long time with type one. It really is incredible to think about how they made it work without the things that we consider now like the very very basics right home blood sugar meters and see test. Fast acting insulin's jack and his son. Jamie have a great story. And i will link up that video. That started all of this. In the show notes you can always go to diabetes. Dash connections dot com. "Committee espn fc. Shock his lops fashion. Salazar with you in studio shock. I don't know if you saw yesterday's show. We had a heated discussion over whether the of religion have been reduced to ten men against round madrid in the champions league. We will keep that debate going a little bit later today. Show some different faces to mix it up steve nicol. We'll be by for that joining us now. Though stuart robson julian laurent don hutchison. It is thursday which most importantly mean shaq is power rankings. Most importantly means europa. League will start in greece for arsenal. Beat benfica come from behind in this one. They went three to two advanced. Four three on aggregate a bombing with a couple of goals. Kieran tierney As well jill's. I'll start with you. Just how big was this for arson to advance the round of sixteen in europa league the result of course and qualifying but also the fact that they came from behind. He's he's been very very rare season. I think he was only the second time where they went behind and then ended up winning again we against southampton in the league. The game saint. Mary's but apart from that every time they were behind every time they considered. I couldn't come back and win it so to do that logically would be huge tonight. Plus also the quantification the momentum before the game leicester on sunday and also of course the two goes for obama. Young and the to assists for psychiatry. And i think we need to find you. Were to qualify an amazing player. Bouquets in one thousand nine dong cossack is he. I think he's that best plass sevi- mono people say about me on gets the goals and they rely on. His goal is true. But i think when i watch young suck apply. I think he's got a lot look at his temperament. Look at the way he plays the game. You can tell. Light loves playing football. He's got smile on his face. He's a choose infectious at the training ground when he's playing but talent wise he's got a wonderful less or you can goes pass. Players phone can go either way. Turn the pace again. He works back. He's got a lot really. I mean he must be a manager's dream robbo arsenals best player. he's right up. Two games in the corrected goes for obama yang and that was the difference between the two sides been fieger. I thought place nice football today. But they had no cutting edge going forward whereas cutting edge liquid trying to break off sidelines. Saka was coming in it and those little round the corner obama gang trying to running behind whereas been fake. If all that good fly times just had no cutting edge shocker arsenal just getting it down today just but last questions about about soccer. Yes he in my mind. He is arsenal's best and most important and ask those third goal goal. That takes them to the next round sums it up one more the defender a couple of crossovers defended doesn't know whether he's going to go. Righto left come back onto onto left and picks a fight bullets. Who just onsides 'cause on maybe man because of his two goals headlines but but for me also is a vote soccer and so much of their good plea comes from from his unpredictability from just clever. He is on the ball and for me without question. That teams suffers most without without saka more than anybody else other

Miami Marlins: Derek Jeter, Kim Ng make baseball history

"I want to start with What I mentioned in the update, and that is the hiring of Qiming as the new GM off the Miami Marlins. And just off the top before we get to the historical nature of this and what it means for North American professional sports, moving forward. Just it is interesting to me. You know? Inevitably, the Rockies and the Marlins will be linked. Both coming into the league together. Iraqis and Marlins or not rivals by any stretch of the imagination. It's certainly if you are Iraqis Fan and the Marlins do something good. And the Rockies. Don't You inevitably draw that line between each other. And for the longest time, even though the Miami the now Miami Marlins used to be Florida Marlins have been more successful or tasted Oldham. Its success more than the Iraqis have. For the most part, the Marlins have been one of the worst run organizations. In all of baseball. We all remember Jeffrey Loria. Would buy a championship. Did buy a championship. 97 When Edgar Renteria got that hit off of Jose Mesa and the world Syriza's Sold everybody off. Because the wage bill would have been too high. But through that, by selling off all those players, he ended up getting a lot of really talented young players. Josh Beckett, Juan Pierre Carl Pavano. And they We're able to go win a championship, and then they were all sold off. Couple of ownership changes later, a monstrosity of a stadium poor attendance. Fire sales seemingly every other year incomes Derek Jeter and we thought that it was going to be more of the same. How in the world Is Derek Jeter. Going to Be the And he's not He runs the Marlins that he has a money man behind him. That helped him get the deal done as much money is Derek Jeter has made throughout his career. He can't outright by a major league baseball team himself, so he has kind of a What Silent partner that kind of front him the money, But he's the face. He's the guy that is making all the decisions. And it's something that We really haven't seen too much. And North American pro sports. We've seen plenty become G m's even presidents. And I guess that might be Derek Jeter's technical title, but two Be The owner. Of a team like the true owner, not nine. Justin Timberlake buying Air Peyton Manning's wife, buying shares of the Memphis Grizzlies. Like it's his team. And then they promptly had a fire sale. After he took over. We thought, okay, same old Marlins. Quietly. They have become one of the more Progressive Four thinking which I guess are It basically means the same thing. Progressive four thinking. Competent. Organizations in baseball.

"Year's presidential election. As I am sure you've heard It's It's also also one one of of the the key key states states for for the the fracking fracking industry industry up up and and down down the the ballot. ballot. As As I'm I'm sure sure you you have have also also heard heard Fracking Fracking for for gas gas has has long long been been thought thought of of as as a a bridge to get us to wherever the cost of wind and solar Has made those renewables as cheap as gas and his marketplaces. Scott Song reports. A couple of new studies suggest that time may already be here. It just gets cheaper and cheaper to make solar panels and wind turbines, says analyst Marlene Metical at Deloitte. The actual cost of the components are declining, but also the efficiency. Of the technology is increasing, so the wind turbines are now becoming larger and larger, and as a result, solar and wind are now the cheapest ways to add power generation in most of the world, says a report from Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Another report from the investment bank, Lazard says building and maintaining the solar or wind farm costs as much as keeping an existing gas plant running, all of which threatens the market for natural gas. Nico Sappho said. The Center for Strategic and International Studies, says pressure's mounting for folks in the gas business. This may be an industry that could be shrinking in 10 15 20 years so How can I be sure that my project is the one that survives? So it puts you in that mindset rather than a mindset where everything is growing their space for everyone. A typical natural gas power plant last 20 years or so bye, then wind and solar will be thriving. So some gas plants will have to shut down early, predicts Sue Tierney at the analysis group consultancy. You would expect to see disclosure statements by companies that there will be much slower utilization rates or a truncated life that's being discussed in a lot of places. Because of that, Tierney thinks a lot of money invested in the natural gas business won't be made back. I'm Scott Tongue for

"Christian Pulisic. All Lord and Savior became the first American man. To School in an FA Cup final in our nation's history. Yes, Kali Loyd. Did do it in the women's FA Cup Final Let's talk about what happened here because a last remaining particle of American self power started ended the move. It was fantastic. Right David Path running right down the middle by. CPI. Definitely playing more centrally in this game and seems to be playing more and more centrally under Franklin. What It's Like Inside The 'Autonomous Zone' Near A Seattle Police Precinct

"There's been a very rough stretch for America but there's good news there something that I feel like we can all laugh at together it's happening over in Seattle I have to admit I'm now turning from bin Usman to amusement as a as an autonomous zone they're going to Capitol Hill autonomous zone has been set up in Seattle protesters have taken over apparently six or seven block radius in Seattle I have declared their own states if you put aside and says you are now leaving USA not getting the Capitol Hill freeze on the call the autonomous zone as a protester occupied zone okay sort of like the occupy Wall Street routine we saw a few years back about twenty tenth and it is going to end up exactly the same way it happened because the police were told by mayor Jenny Durkan to essentially withdraw from the area and to see the area to the cops and it's turned into a raucous comedy almost immediately now I think that a lot of people across the United States are feeling that things have grown out of control just a little bit but no matter how much you believe the police brutality is wrong and everyone has good believes this and about how much we racism is wrong and you don't have to protest Julie the racism is wrong it's kind of weird that we are now talking openly about a complete takeover of a major part of the major city by protesters against the police were apparently according to cops some extortion is going on testers have built walls that they've gone full trump guys not full authoritarian according black right they built walls not getting they actually built a wall to keep people out they took over the east precinct in jail police department called the Seattle people's department which is not I'm really enjoying this live showing on continuous loop of the dark knight rises it's really exciting stuff they set up physical barriers we have armed people patrolling the physical barriers apparently they are stopping and frisking people were entering I'm not kidding about this they're stopping and frisking people who are entering and this was to get rid of the cops guys this is to get rid of the evil horrible Seattle police department and immediately upon that happening people in there like oh you mean now there's power that's up for grabs it turns out that energy is usually a pretext for Tierney chaos is usually a pretext for terrible people taking over and so according to multiple reports socially world you were going to skate from New York have to skate from Seattle we're gonna send in snake plus can do that I mean all that has to happen here is for is for Air Force One to be down inside the Seattle autonomous freezone for things to get really wild so here is exactly what went down I'm going to I'll appointed over hot air apparently CLP cracked down hard on protesters on Sunday night despite their having giving a speech earlier that day calling for de escalation in order to lower the temperature the weeklong blockade by the police in their east precinct was lifted and demonstrators were allowed to March past but that's not all apparently they were afraid that the writers were gonna burn down the police precinct so instead the cops in the National Guard to pulled out of the building entirely by Monday afternoon they removed all the women in the files the board the place up and they left and thus was born a new nation the Capitol Hill autonomous zone or Chas for sure the country of jazz a place where progressives can indulge in some of the most humiliating stereo type of left wing protest on culture according to reports by early Tuesday demonstrators had established a perimeter with improvised barriers and deputized doubts in the afternoon the No capo up popped up swinging kebabs snacks and free water to passers by I teach ins where was established at the intersection of wealth and fine when you like a full mouse review here tents were pitched near the precinct where people are encouraged to stay throughout the night or even just for two or three hours to hold the space by nightfall they built their own outdoor cinema the crowd was energized to build connections people spoke about investing in black owned banks I vesting from corporations and prison reform one speaker issued a warning about the American legislative exchange council vote a group of usually white men from major corporations we don't know our issues and make laws protesters hold a banner on east precinct at red property of the people according to Kaelin o'connell which is one of the local stations and there are plenty of photos available there's even a map replete with labels like regime occupied safe way regime occupied safe way solid stuff guys really good stuff

"With you tiki and Tierney here CBS sports radio thing I think I've had a little issue with my order to take something there but yep lets up man okay got it cool yep I had a little issue with that obviously were doing our shows from our homes it's all good I got to throw a little little thirty second proud dad moment from the sporty ready go ahead this call that will get back to spit that stuff so when I was young yeah you know our Saturday routine was obviously little league and then the baseball bunches in the eighties baseball bunch and this week in baseball and then the game of the week on NBC which Garagiola right yep and you that's really the only time every week that you would get a chance to watch the out of town gays better factory store I remember watch in I guess it would have been the eighty four season Jack Morris threw a no hitter I believe was gets the white Sox but was definitely in Detroit as a tiger and I remember watching that game on the game of the week is that insane like nineteen eighty four nine years old but anyway what I used to love doing is this week in baseball they had this theme as a den and then and then and then and then they had this montage right okay they have a montage of all the players from that era you have like Ozzie Smith you have Steve Garvey Mike Schmidt Steve Carlton Pete rose you know Dave Winfield and I would run around my base but it was like a tile exec slippery tile and I would emulate hitting and throwing and sliding across you know like cold plate so long story short this morning yeah its port here's nothing to do we take a little B. P. in the basement of our Kinsley obviously this morning my daughter and I'm like let me just throw this on I guess I guess so I go to YouTube or streaming on the TV and I find the baseball of the this week a baseball theme right and there's an elongated one is like nine minutes so which is going on and don't you know Colton I didn't tell him cold and starts running around sliding emulating as guys were like jumping over fences he was pretending he was scaled a fence to catch the ball it was pretty awesome and nice nice really what was hoped the baseball come back for this year's taxes you in real time Jake I need some baseball brawl not yet well without baseball I miss it it just sucks baseball's there's a void and that's something to get our squeeze in a little later in the show baseball's plan in addition to the streamlined NBA player but let's get back to this bit but stuff like there's no way that feel these war could get hurt I mean whether it was an ancillary part of the team you know this some four obviously Krauss was a target maybe there was like I don't know why some under the radar issue with Phil Jackson that came to light out above all the things that I would not expect would be to watch ten hours of of Jordan documentary and walk away with any frayed at the edges between Pitt and Michael Jordan yeah under those circumstances there's there shouldn't be because he's so integral without Scotty Pippen six that happened maybe they get one or two but they're not one and six AM to three PM the way that they did it's interesting to be T. because I remember reading this or this week when we were done I sickening Y. Pippin should be we should address the right to be upset with this let's not forget Jordan left the bought the the bowls to go play baseball for two seasons and in those two seasons Scotty Pippin was left kind of in the lurch and he had to take on a significantly increased role to become the man and they get to the playoffs they play the New York Knicks this instant incident happens they talk about in the locker room and it's dead and then they go on to the beat the Knicks in seventh year in a mix with at Sears yeah that was nine four that was without Jordan yeah Knicks wrote two games to none of that series to go to the jump Java one point eight the next advance and the Knicks lose the championship to the rockets but the bulls beat every other year with Jordan but that was the year we got a bit out of of course he added without short ebook we my point is it doesn't matter right Michael Jordan wasn't in this game so why is it highlighted as such a they're not more importantly I can understand I'm losing the game M. Y. highlight the Pippin piece of that for this documentary R. Michael Jordan you know I mean I get it yeah I was a part of it I think it's fair that I guess he wasn't one of the team like you if you could just say they didn't win the championship when Michael Jordan was in here you can detail what happened and who they lost to accept her but why did again on that specific moment which is the let's face it was the low point of Scotty Pippen's career of all the great things that he had loved African many years he played openly but he got six championships right now of all of this is entire career that's the one low point that's the one thing you look at you like me study for each of the done that means that he is twenty five years later city do it again but it doesn't matter if you want this matter matters why is it even in the documentary and I think the reason that Scotty is is upset is because this is a documentary about Michael Jordan right it it's it's detailing all the great stuff about my Michael Jordan the fact the fact that he you know he's he's he was hard on his teammates any seem really doesn't have any friends on the team who cares we revel in that because he was a champion and that's what you had to do back then in order to find a way to beat the pistons beat the bad boy you had to be hard **** it's a Michael Jordan took on that role great champions don't have friends type of thing I get it why do you get on Scotty Pippin on a team that Michael Jordan was even on a day so I get why Scott he's upset this is not relevant to this like this this big picture about Michael Jordan is about Michael Jordan give it hold on to Jordan has control over this so he so you must have signed off on it until I get it man I get why Scott he's upset well I don't I don't think you should be that upset but I get why he's upset yeah I mean listen would you frame it that way that that's a fair way to look at it but I would put it this way it's not like it was cold you know it's not I I know it was about Jordan obviously but it wasn't like it was called you know M. J. the chronology or you know through the years M. J. it's called the last dance and all the cover like the the logo is Scotty Pippen Phil Jackson Jordan Rodman and Steve Kerr what is the desired result the person right now but what is it go ahead does that so I think to tell the entire story to get to the last dance which again as much as it was about N. J. it was the most expensive probing piece on the bulls in totality because they also spoke about Reinsdorf it like that certainly Kraus we know and all the transactions in the trades at almost went down and and all the other stuff I don't know that you can depict that entire era without connecting the dots of what the bulls were like without Michael and without Michael the man as you said it would work so hard to become the man and and assume the role now that M. J.'s try to hit the curve ball well he was he was only the man was convenience I how do you piece together the second part of Jordan returning without showing then hitting a lower point without him I think you have to what I don't know I I just I it may be I guess so but I don't think it was it was on top of people's minds you know it's not it's not something that you go back even after you've seen it again so after re watching after the greedy experiencing this eight year period with the Chicago Bulls I don't look at that moment and say and that was it that was a pivotal point in the history of the Chicago Bulls I just don't feel like it's it's a really negative point in Scotty Pippen's life but I don't think it was a pivotal point in the history of the Chicago Bulls especially during that eight year period yeah you know it's always act maybe I just can't see it and so it gives feels like it feels like it feels like April was getting picked on to be V. eight anti hero on the team even though he wasn't if that makes sense well he wasn't put in that moment you know if you go to illuminate won the game you don't need and then they talked about in the locker room it is I don't get it from you a guy who played his **** off a guy who your basically cracked in half as a rookie back in ninety seven your doorbell this hell we all know the last five six years you were great player a guy that respected the game how can you this is always get this annoys me how could you always tell me what we talk about this how can you minimise one of the all time great players quitting on his team but I'm not doing that because if it happened in forty days if it happens in football it would be unforgivable because one of sixteen matters a lot in his Bentley is often a great hold on in specially if it happened in a playoff game you don't want to you tell me right it matters a lot it happened in a game that they won it did not happen again right and so at the end of the day I did it he made a stupid mistake and it didn't and they won the game anyway so so if Tony cool coach claims that off the back rim you have a different opinion yes that's right okay absolutely I do but it's not the outcome of the premises the outcome winning matters winning matters stop with that while you were on the scene I'm not I'm just fax winning matters if someone does I give you the perfect example this is this is this is this personal so in two thousand and two I think it was two thousand and two a camera year it was we play the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of the season we had to win the game right we had to win otherwise we're not we're not big in the post season and we're playing the eagles and I'm having a great game arrested two hundred yards I think so I might might have been my first two hundred yard rushing game my career and another five but you guys that week okay but if you've been if you bet that I was gonna put the ball on the ground you will want I fumbled three times in this game BT three times right and I can't tell you how despondent I was but in in in Phil Dawson missed a field goal at the end Phil Dawson no that incinerates not field also I can't remember it was their kicker missed David Akers David Akers yes all right he missed a field goal at the end of regulation so going overtime called fossa gives me the ball six times in a row midnight fumbled three times in this game and we end up winning the.

"Up the phone and call would still love to get a sense of what you think and drop us a tweet drama follows well at tiki and Tierney were at tiki barber at Brandon Tierney all right take a listen and see what's Cookin that's get the mat in White Plains little baseball matters on tiki and Tierney what matters boy what's going on I don't do well we got we think about this yeah I got a comment on something you said taking about the the baseball player today being more athletic you know we're going to argue that these guys have beach bodies today even argue okay yeah but it is very athleticism Kiki does not reflect how they play the game okay now I'm a baseball guy born raised okay okay I'm out I'm out of a tough time watching baseball nowadays they go station to station okay nobody goes first the third okay there's no I didn't want to do that he won once last I mean these guys know what a hit and run is where the heart is that on the players out on the set on the code that's the island but that file of play is athletic you look at the ABC grow Willie McGee okay Otis Nixon yes although got great bottler marquise Griffin yeah that's the Henderson man Ricky Henderson like it did was amazing wedding it would not have let a game but just because these guys look like athletes I'm telling you right now if you watch the denticulata I know I'm sure you kind of do yeah in the game is boring as can be brought it's a walk strikeout home run these guys may look like gods and goddesses yeah we can't run and they tear muscle if they do you make a very good point coming intercostal muscle isn't injuries have we seen over the last like three years just like what the hell is that even you know who you're talking about you know last stream and how do you strain your lad but you but you make a very good point here's you member can't be too when with one of the wheels going at one of the Royals when it was a thirteen fifty fifteen November twenty fifteen I did it was like a lark I think we were arguing about something on our show and I talked about the Royals Mike all the worlds are now my team yeah he never this I do style they love their style because they get they could go from first to third you know what I mean and they were being manufactured runs it was exciting in in in math call is interesting because I live I love that team not because they had stores or they were overly athletic even though they were but because they played the game with a frenetic energy you know it's like however we can get a run we're get a run you know I mean I'm not gonna stand up here with his launch angle is trying to put it you know four hundred and seventy five feet in and out of the stadium like I I want to get on base I'm gonna try to get the third hopefully someone is in a lot me it right into it and if I got a bunch to do that I'm gonna want to do that right that that's what baseball feels like it's missing in some regard because so many these guys and you're you're right Matt called me on it you're right these guys are athletes but all they want to do is be heroes right they wanna be Casey at the bat you know what I mean and that's that's not traditional baseball and it's not using their athleticism to its fullest advantages listen I was talking to Joe Morgan this probably about a year and a half or so ago Joe Morgan the hall of Famer Jeff bass big red machine etcetera and you know I said taking your out that day and we had you on the show during the week and and I said you don't you don't I said we don't miss the most like it I mean think about what was the last time we watch somebody gonna send a ninety second video what would happen listen but you'll get a greater point what what was it like how infrequent is it when you got a guy on first the battery it's a four five hopper the gap bone you know it trickles to the wall the left field the corrals the throws at a seat at the shortstop was on the grass will pay the ten throws a one out.

"We stress analysis it's tiki and Tierney all the fan okay we get back to these calls and the little confusing courtesy which make out of it one eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six but real quick the one thing that you have to look at here and yeah I don't love the first result because when you make a trade and you go down double digits slots you're obviously targeting players and and reacting to players that have already been drafted and and it's cetera but you're also reading what is now in front of you by dropping back and what you have to say is well if we drop back eleven slots with this trade how many of the teams that are now in front of us that would not have been there if we can trade out or going to go and get a wide receiver yeah right right well Seattle didn't take one they took a defensive end of course the Steelers did they took chase chase Claypool yep promoter Dane yep there is what I did big kid to chase Claypool six four he's exactly you were talking about six four to thirty these fast rate of five or four five fourteen it surprised people at the combine with his size and athleticism so do he's exactly he would have wanted me to do I think the bears take a wide receiver here I think that they could and they did not they go cornerback the kid from Utah Jayla Johnson is very good so I think they dodged a bullet there because you and I talk nationally about how you know Mr biscuits like six and a half yards per attempt they never throw the ball downfield they got to get him some vertical weapons so they they they breathed a little sigh of relief there because the bears don't take one okay now you get to Dallas they're not gonna take one there the Chargers have two picks in front of you I don't think they'll go receiver I I don't think the eagles went receiver last night they can always go receiver again yeah there's a big need though so that way I would be surprised if the eagles win twice yup the main I'm not saying you're wrong and then the pick right before the jets go eventually fifty nine would be the Vikings and they took a receiver last nine Justin Jefferson and they have Feelin so we'll say but let's get back to the calls and see how you process this and definitely interesting let's get any Manhattan not now in the family Hey don't ET and tiki man doing good thanks for the show is doing a great job guys each man putting something together I would raise man I'm a just family held in reserve right the better better Tyerman rage man goes to Q. you are getting through Q. you know I'm praying you've got you've got thanks man you have a gigantic come on through you got a chance to get some superstar that got you over and over day man what exactly that I'm all very cute man you did a good job the store and opens the book category no more American we need real wide receiver over Q. let me just let me let me just drop one thing on the I hear you I love the passion trust me we've been down this road I get you man we all get you jets fans we hear you but think about all the times right that old how old are you what what what what what do you do come a jets fan Eddie every drop I think we lost we lost because the one thing it applies to any and everybody I get it you get a rate the rate it's all good that's what we hear four eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six what you got on the stand all the years whether it's getting on the radio or get on social media or just wrap what your boys in the bar on the golf course how many times of the jets or the giants made a pick you like I love this guy this guy's yeah absolutes thought happened rob it's gonna happen it's gonna happen every it happens for every team every year somebody you were excited about getting and it's just it's just not gonna pan out he said what he stopped what he was saying is is it's kind of true you get got pics right you traded Leonard Williams got the giants pick yeah you have assets that you can play around with and move up into the draft movement back into the draft when you have needs and there's there's limited like really good players left in the draft doesn't make sense the dinner I eat like I I'm not trying to gas you up but like when you think about the the need for the for the for the jets it was wide receiver there are a couple of good wide receivers still left in the draft now by moving all the way back to fifty nine is still two eight picks nine picks in front of you you don't know that those guys are are gonna are gonna go in they probably will because we get the good players I we talk about the depth of this wide receiver you know class old all season leading up this is the biggest thing right now that I look at you know the the the best available it's mims Denzel mims who we just talked about he's he's available Tyler Johnson from Minnesota quite honestly I don't know a lot about Donovan peoples Jones from Michigan and once you get into that area I remember watching that kid play in the in the in the white out game against Penn state he wasn't jumping off the page right it this point you're you're done with the guys that I think can be impactful at wide receiver maybe they surprised me some of these guys are still left on the board the wide receivers are still there but it's not they're not immediately going to be difference makers for your team and the jets missed out on it like there's a couple still left now they missed out on and and I would be willing to bet I would be willing to bet that you're wrong because unless well here's the thing unless they hear we don't think they need a wide receiver well not much on them the B. T. how they give me one well you know what it looks like okay it's fifty nine it's eight picks away Denzel mims is the last like one that we we've we've previewed what do you mean right who is this week when you meet with everyone like they did just wrapped wrapped world the draft community I mean they may be wrong Kuipers role more these right concourse it's not quite Brady in the fourth round and as such we hold the grudge exactly six room up which we do we do about it because the money let's get that in the in bayside and the Isanti keen is with tiki and Tierney other fan what's up baby how you doing tonight all right I'm I'm a big fan and the way I see it or of the press on the back or the four wide receivers mystified and bite that they might six will play the Democratic Front for workplace in before the twenty eighth thanks everybody second round they must have traded after point man and what about and I'm only saying that they're not high on or around men's men and that's why they put it down because that's the only thing that would make sense that's why his dad last night when that trade unless you disagree with me now I think you're you're probably right I mean that that that's that's the correct analysis thanks they had their eye on a handful of guys probably three or four guys and it they knew they were getting Gil jury duty you know I mean because they they were office of line in the first round they said they knew they were getting the duties of the deficit Jefferson's or a CD lambs eccentrics at your kids and he knew those guys weren't there so they probably had only got three guys that we're going to go after and if those three guys are gone we're out what work will balance and we'll find a different way to fill that need or they try to go get a sleeper cell this this this lookin at the kid from liberty Antonio Gandy golden nobody's ever seen a play because he played at liberty he's he's big six for you two thirty I know right but it's maybe they're trying to get a sleeper later and because those three guys are two or three guys that they wanted that were at that forty nine spot just north there anymore instead of you know reaching and taking receive you don't Love Me at that value in me that positional value than you do move out you'd get some other assets I mean that's probably what's going on with Joe Douglas but it's still not it doesn't satisfy the Fayette right it is who is looking for someone to fill the void at the position it wasn't that the last thing I'm ever gonna do is be disrespectful to the fans you know that I'm one of them but yep it doesn't matter what we think it really doesn't because what matters is what you watch on Sunday Matt it matters when success doesn't come to me sure in the disk it was his first first go round here with the jets so you kind of got to give him the benefit of the doubt would kind of have to do it yet so it's like you you'd stop you know what I mean your team has been that good either way I know but my teammates to championships in the last decades over I know you don't trust me I'm well aware that this input and you I look at this this evening there's an element the first rate is but by the way the cowboys go go Trayvon digs cornerback from Alabama who fell a while but that's a huge get for the cowboys pretty good actionable is to have a good day Memphis for a good a good weekend I should say they are one of the problems with the draft here right is that and again nationally it's great content frost because we could do draft talk nationally three hours a day and some of the most of those we do yeah I do but but the draft has become really just one large monetization of of college football because the more mock drafts you put out the more clicks you get the more content you get the more views you get to get the end of the day it means nothing and I finally came around to learning that that it means nothing well those are the the top of the draft means a lot doesn't it Laurie Otis thanks Janus Winston doesn't have a team okay but Mario to was a good player for the for the Tennessee Titans are ultimately he didn't take he can take them anywhere and the reason is it's clear it's a conversation we had yesterday on our on our show you mean it about are you a hall of fame quarterback like the numbers on whether or not you have a hall of fame quarterback or cornerback is projecting to be a hall of Famer and whether not you're winning a Super Bowl are stark it's like seventy seven percent of Superbowl victories have been won by quarterbacks who were in the hall of fame or going to be in the hall of fame and going and going to be our the drew Brees is of the world and Peyton and Eli and Aaron Rodgers and in the in the two reaches that aren't quite solidified as the hall of Famer Jeff arm are Patrick Mahomes who clearly is heading that way in Russell Wilson who also was heading that way right if you don't have a hall of fame quarterback you better have one of the best defenses ever right because yeah make Phil Simms in all the Washington Redskins quarterback St make mandatory bears out the the ravens would trade deal for who basically laughed at all he won the Super Bowl he wasn't even the team next year deal for her it's so you they had a great defense Brad Brad Johnson with tamper with my brother you better have a great day hall of fame quarterback and so it it is a big deal to pick the quarterback at the right quarterback at the top of the draft because that's where you usually get these guys who turned out to be hall of fame but I'm not just talking about quarterbacks take I mean I know I know I know but I'm talking about quarterback gotcha and that that's that's a different point and and that's that's you raise that would be the other day it's a great point that is on point I'm I'm not gonna disagree with that the numbers are they are how bout let's see here Toadies in river above what is is there is a report on what we get is because there's a report on socially Philly drafting Jalen hurts fifty three what else will say they're on the ramp is that all about we'll see how about Tony and riff regs up on the fan with tiki and Tierney what's up Tony items that it's all good man primetime suffering Jeff and here I I was kind of surprised that they traded down with yeah I mean I know we got an extra ticket but you know we need to get somebody to replace Robbie Anderson and you know I think the guys is that they're looking at are still going to be there at fifty eight that's gonna get think of someone that they're looking for five people in there are going to be available at that point because I mean we have a lot of areas this question we need help in so many spots but when wide receivers one we got to give our quarterbacks and people are thrown to that we know it can be reliable and catch the ball and do things but this is only on his own I'm just surprised right now I'm so I got to you you really care that Robby Anderson's gone really well you know even today he was a decent wide receiver no the only option on a bad team but he.

S. see the box also beefed up their offense of line moving up a spot to take some protection for Tom Brady and I was tackled Tristen worst tiki and Tierney will have complete coverage of tonight's festivities beginning

"tierney" Discussed on CATS Roundtable

"The morning New York. This is the roundtable transfats routines here. Sunday morning. Today is March first paper. Plastic what's going on in New York City New York state. What a mess with us. This morning is John Tierney. Contributing Editor Manhattan Institute City Journal and For over two decades he's reporter and columnist for the New York Times. Good Morning. John. How are you spending five? Thanks John We've got a big controversy in environmentalist pro plastic another environmentalist pro trees arguing about it What say you where? What's your position. These plastic bag bans. And you know New York is just one of hundreds of places doing this. Are there inconvenient for shoppers? Expense to it but you know but also the they're bad for the environment. Basically banning those thin plastic grocery bags increases carbon emissions. You know environmentalist. The climate change is the greatest challenge of our time and yet when they pass these laws banning those thin grocery bags people ended up using substitutes that have bigger carbon footprints and resulted in more carbon emissions to San Francisco doubled it more than doubled its carbon emissions from grocery bags by banning these bags. Because you know they're so thin so light they use very little energy or resources and and people when they're ban people ended up using paper bags or they ended up using these much thicker. Tote bags and result is more carbon in the atmosphere. So that's one of the timeline. John Teeny you've heard my position. My position is that orbiting the State Senate and State Assembly. They killing millions and millions of trees by increasing the paper bags. Well I looked on trees. It does cause trees to be cut down. I mean one argument is is is. The trees are basically an agricultural crop. You know they're growing on tree tree farms really so in that sense. It doesn't bother me that people use paper but it says you know papers so much less convenient for people. I mean. It's expensive on the cost. To pay for bags is almost seven or eight times. The cost of the plastic bags so may for back four times a ruined landfill to people. Don't use them you know. They're not. They're not nearly as effective as far as you know. They're not waterproof the way the plastic is. And you know they're just. They're heavier and less convenient for everyone. Plastic is great and it takes up less room in the landfill it. It involves fewer carbon emissions people and Peo- most people reuse the those plastic grocery bags you know to add a line trash bins to pick up after their pets. So you know the plastic is really better. It's more convenient for people and it's better for the environment. You know the other thing. You might call the plastic panic in this city journal. Article is the plastic. Recycling is another thing that hurts the environment because when we recycle plastic. There's no market for it here in the US. You know it's very expensive and and and the stuff isn't worth I think so. A lot of it just gets sent to landfill anyway but if stuff is recycled it's shipped overseas to Asia and it ends up in countries that do not handle their waste very well and some of that plastic leaks into the ocean. That's for the the main ocean. Pollution of plastic comes from his Asia or in a little of South America and Africa too. So when you solve that problem right now right but it wasn't you right. Now the New Yorkers can do is make sure you put plastic in the trash to make sure it doesn't end up in the ocean. Yeah that's another case for environmentalists are pushing this program. We have to recycle our plastic. That ends up hurting the environment. It'd be much better. Just put that stuff in the trash so it goes safely into a well line landfill and it doesn't end up in the ocean so in other words put it any a garbage can because we urge our customers at supermarkets are retail stores to recycle. The bags are bringing them back to us. So you think it's a better idea. Just throw them away. I think in general. That's a good idea. Now if you're stores can act you know could actually send that directly to a recycling facility in the United States where it's GonNa be well handled then. It does get recycle to me. It's not worth the money. I mean it just more expensive to do all this. There's a market for it. But in general plastic should go in the trash. I think because the recyclables that cities collected in the United States in in most cases you know they they simply there's no market for domestically because it's too expensive to sort all this stuff and try and process it. So what what they've been doing in Europe has been doing the same thing that they ship these bales of recyclables off to Asia. Where some of it ends up in the ocean so it would be much better off not doing that. Well John Tierney Contributing Editor City Journal. And thank you so much coming on the radio with us and I heard you have a new puppy sides. Yeah it's called the power of bad and How the negatively affect rules us on how we can rule it and it's and it's why in the negative effect is the is the universal tendency for bad events in Batam oceans to affect us more strongly than good ones and it really skews people's perspective. I mean it skews people in their relationships and business. You know one bad thing happens in that. And that's all people can think of one word of criticism and you ignore shower. Praise and also really affects the way we see the world that you know that we think things are getting worse. You know this presidential campaign my Gosh you think you know the world's GonNa End Unless unless the right side wins and basically all virtually every trend of human welfare in the world is positive. You know people are getting healthier wealthier. you know the air's getting cleaner And yet we're just bombarded by all this bad news because there are all these people who exploit this negativity bias out Brian. We call them the murky muddy. A lot of people have an agenda exactly know. These things are really exploited by the merchants of bad as we call them who you know. Journalists use it just to get attention and writings and and then they're all these special interest groups that use it the they create We call the crisis crisis. Which is everything's a crisis everything's going to hell and unless you pass this legislation or in a or the policy. I say and when you look at what these policies actually do often. The problem doesn't really exist in the first place. In the solution you know makes things worse than it usually benefits special interests. That has been hyping this. This oppose crisis John Timu thank you so much for coming on and let's catch up. I loved it. Thanks very much down. This is the round table. We'll be right back..

Bernie Sanders won't admit it, but socialism is a liability

"He calls himself a democratic socialist so why did he start the democratic Socialist Party run on the democratic socialist line you know that's socialist run before including even against Franklin Roosevelt midwesterners Wisconsin Bernie Sanders doesn't right is endemic to run as a democratic socialist nobody ever asked him why he doesn't run as a democratic socialist instead he's trying to take down take over the already miserable Democrat party but I wonder about the what's the problem Mr calls grin I want you to clear a few lines I want any Bernie Sanders supporters know fakes real well just hang up on you to call this program Intel millions of people around the nation why you support Bernie Sanders and why we should support brings giving you an opportunity now that you'll never have again your candidates too much of a coward to come on this program or any of my programs that may be maybe one or two or three of his supporters will call in and explain themselves and explain what it is exactly Bernie Sanders once for the country I suspect we'll get nobody some challenging you to call I think it's important that you explain yourselves Bernie Sanders will come on this program because we have a serious discussion about his ideology and the declaration and the constitution and whether or not all of them can coexist which course they can't I want to know where the authority comes from to nationalize public utilities in nationalized healthcare whatever it is you don't cite some Supreme Court decision where's the authority in the constitution they never say to print quick decisions when they lose so I cite them when you win I'm talking about the constitution by the way speaking of that the constitution my wife and I saw the Clarence Thomas movie this weekend Mr petition it was fabulous absolutely fabulous and I learned more about Clarence Thomas then in before even having read his book because he elaborates on points one of the things you really gonna love about this I don't know if they're gonna run it additional days in the theaters or not I mean after all he's not was bare Ginsburg with a run it for months and Hollywood gets behind it and so forth but he he speaks in a straightforward common sense way it tells you exactly what took place in his life during the hearings and so forth and at the end of the movie everybody applauded uploaded this is a giant speaking of giants Clarence Thomas is a giant he believes in the family he believes in fidelity to the declaration and the constitution he believes in those words natural law natural rights which mean what god given unalienable rights god given puts things in proper perspective not Bernie Sanders given that Elizabeth Warren given god given and of course for the rest of left the secularists the status they cannot accept that they rejected otherwise their entire ideology falls apart first of all there's god can have that and secondly there the limits placed in the constitution on their power can have that in third this this huge problem called unalienable right I keep hearing these guys on the Senate floor Democrats I think we call them house managers another Democrat managers every Republican voted against it they're Democrat manage they're Democrat handlers the Democrat propagandists thrown through talk about democracy trump is a threat to our democracy in a democracy we have transparency and of course it's the opposite of everything they've done but that's not the point there's a huge distinction between a democracy and Republic democracy is extremely dangerous we've talked about this but underscore the point if you believe an unalienable rights any democracy they can't work together because that means people can vote to deny you your unalienable rights the whole purpose of a constitutional Republic is to secure your constitutional right to protect the from tyranny to any of the mob you see during the mob right now from tier any the few from whatever the Tierney is the constitution is like a protective shield to protect the individual on the civil society so they keep time in a democracy and direct elections in this sort of thing can I expand on this more tonight on live in TV but let me just touch this because we have a very odd thing going on in this country and one of the few who's willing to speak out against this I am not a populist populism which really had its first first the sort of systemic viewer eight or more tangible approach was in the eighteen late eighteen sixties early eighteen seventies even at a popular Sir people's party back then you see the distinction between those who believe in individual liberty in those who believe in centralized government becomes ambiguous if you're a populist what does that mean the people should rule now is some of the constitution says the people should rule they set up the Senate so the state legislatures choose the senators they know how to set it up if they wanted the people to vote that was change for the seventeenth amendment they set up the presidency so it's not a direct election so there's an electoral college what did they do that because they didn't want a popular quote unquote democracy a mob Akhras's the courts lifetime appointments I believe term limits but what I believe is beside the point they set up a court lifetime upon the only directly elected body is the house of representatives part of the Congress that's it if they believed in populism why would there be a Senate if they believe in populism why would you vote for judges would that be great not be disaster the states they have in most states it's a disaster you know more in Florida were driving through and it's election time for their judges vote for any robot ski District Court is nobody knows who the hell are need to brush it any Grabowski is then I reading his opinions now we're not a pure democracy we're not even a democracy and no this isn't about populism it's about constitutionalist and constitutionalism is about a polling individual right liberty god given right so you need a governing body unity governing system in a civil society who's going to call the shots is a diverse society there's a lot of people is a lot going on he got a lot of states and so forth so the constitution is the roadmap the constitution is what lays it out now if you read rediscovering Americanism by the way Mr producer I told the publisher to send a copy to every Supreme Court justice after I watch this Lawrence Thomas movie I'm sure they're all read it very carefully anyway so if you understand progressivism they have to reject our founding documents they have to reject because the emphasis is put on the individual and the individual's relationship with god progressivism doesn't put an emphasis on individualism it puts an emphasis on collectivism and its relationship to government they're two completely different ideology and so when they talk in Iowa about very Sanders is leading in the polls her Bernie Sanders will win and so forth and you have so called populist in our country some on television some just in Congress some who are egg heads whatever and they're out there talking about would populace and so forth were but we'll wait is there populism and and Bernie Sanders populism begin Mister but if somebody needs to read a trip right a treatise on this because I can't figure it out and either can they which is why more and more of these so called conservative populist sound more more like Bernie Sanders or a more more sympathetic to all the Democrat party trying to stop Bernie Sanders well he's not even a Democrat and what was me Bernie Sanders is a victim who gives a crap let them brutalize and let them realize each other it's bizarre it's bizarre in this appeal unfortunately is an appeal that goes beyond our borders autocracy has an appeal particularly among free people why because they never believe that it's going to devour their lifestyle and of course their lifestyle is the target think about government run healthcare for a minute let's say you can't get the drug that you want were you gonna go to get it how you go to appeal it let's say you have some horrific disease and it's very very expensive if you're not on the list at HHS or the CDC you're not on the list that is the disease you don't get we see these things happening in Britain we see these things happening in Germany and France all around the EO we see these things happening in Canada and on top of that what else do we see they smother innovation life saving drugs and as many of you know it is I witness will witnessing today people who are extremely ill extremely ill many would do anything for a life saving drug and I want to take this one step further our minds our intellect our brains are built to find solutions government is built to smother them redistribution of wealth radical egalitarianism that's not about allowing the human mind to develop knowledge to grow intellectually in any field science is what have you it's mother's it substitutes the will of the politician the will of the bureaucrats the will of the mob where the middle of the the the the will of the tyrant so it also tries to control what's between your ears what you think what you say what you can develop and create and produce it's anti human being it's anti compassion think about it I'll be right back then when

"New World order government Tierney **** of Babylon that's what my child is about all of that was because basically that it was all about all the skiers and all the fears about what was gonna happen in the future okay stories about the global is how they what your guns they wanted it for our democracy black helicopters yeah there was no escaping this it was because my dad and his friends we went to the barber shop we always talk about my dad Todd was even with his friends your mechanics is a guy named oral who is in our was last name well it was it was a horrible case Caitlyn's oral he's a mechanic my dad him talked about this all the time for my Steve uses talk about this all the time he was in a rock band your song called not Illuminati okay it was everywhere band this whole idea forty years ago you know we all hung out I was a kid then all these guys were at the harbor shop now our dad see back then I thought it was all crazy kind of fun I did that I would pay much mind to it and they gave us anything it's real Sicel paranoid right is the seventies eighties and into the nineties all this paranoia started happening but anyway you know the X. files of course comes along and our bell one John double don't even forget long John noble but our bell it's all about art we love art but yeah art bell it was the other thing to an art came on the air he and I started basically said I restart is Purnell was about the same time I did and you know I was with him and I found my dad I found a dad in our build this is only my dad everything everything are bill talked about someone my dad so I had my dad on the radio and thing and I want to grow just be just like my dad just like our bill and hopefully you know if my dad were alive today he would say well you know I think my dad did become very accepting of what I was doing I was always is product view you know party view because you know you're talking about all this long long before it was even a big deal and you know one of the things that you know I died but what I put the list I put in the RFID chip and I put a G. P. S. I put mark of the beast that put you know national databases and everything you know one of the things that I think a lot of people don't realize is that this is the year they finally said you got to get a real ID okay got to get a real ID it's it's different from the driver's eyes gotta wait live DMV your real ID and many people don't know this for the real ID act was passed by Congress in may of two thousand five and what it was made to do is to create a national identification system I basically putting together kind of this idea of well state driver's licenses can be expanded and it could be expanded to be like little passports you have to carry with you we get on a flight and you have to you have to have them because of what happened during the nine eleven attacks because they were saying that you know the ID's were kind of screwed up and and there was a it was a big question of whether not where the ideas came from from the terrorists that's how I got involved see here we are now what since two thousand five okay you know it what fifteen years ago with this happened we haven't had any attacks on the United States since then and yeah they still want to implement this is still I mean they've they've waited they way they waited and finally here we are in twenty twenty October twenty twenty you have to get this and what the government spend the whole time here is the past so many losses so many restrictions and a master the art of you know dancing around the issue dancing around constitutional limitations and what it considers inconvenient laws aimed at ensuring the total subjection of everyone to total government control and it's all under the banner public safety we've heard this before will you know Americans are being marked this is the marketing okay we are being marked and measured by the apparatus of government which behaves like well it feels like and sounds like the market would be strictly and the other thing is is that we're one of the last countries to jump on board with this because that meet the look at India you look a Bangladesh you look at all these other countries and even part of the ID twenty twenty program for some time now but they were trying to link their ID's with not only governments but they're trying to with a world government actually with the trying to link them up with you know big pharmacy companies you know vaccines things of that nature so yeah I mean when you think about modern police state we've been so coddled into this should be with open arms yet they they brought us into we've we said yeah we want to be part of this surveillance police state and you know we say well it's for our own good because you know there are a lot of killers among us there's there's you know shooters in and is bombers in there's terrorists and there's you know and so the police state knows all too well how to hide you know any kind of nefarious covert clandestine secret activities behind sy ops and whatever the PSYOP or the psychological operate at whatever the using this language of national security and terrorism that use these buzz words in magic words saying you know here we go you know we have to do this because of this and this and what that does is suffice it obvious gates it complicates it redefines words it eight Stein means just completely bamboozled zero the public remains in the dark and they have no choice but to say okay well I guess I got applied for this real ID thing I mean some people have a a gold star already on their driver's license that signifies you've come at you actually complied with the real ID act a gold star is like you know back when you're in Sunday school may give you a gold star on the forehead because you read your scriptures you know I read my scriptures teacher here's one from psalms eleven what's what it was it psalms one eighteen verse nine it's better to seek protection from the lord then to trust princes all I'm sorry does expediency New World order it's better to seek protection from the lord been trust in princes trusted presidents trusting kings and popes and and wily politicians what do we follow our own advice in the Bible hell no hell no I mean we're complacent with this whole idea of this real ID card because it provides evidence that the government seeking total subjugation of you okay it's it's it's way to say Hey submit to total government and if you have a reptile brain you can submit and join the walking dead or the unfettered police state where we want to be a part of we all these armies is law enforcement everything else you know and and then that I'm not gonna let the but the but the the guys out there that are kicking **** right now the fighting crime in the streets I'm not talking about those guys I'm a new form of law enforcement okay because I've heard these guys talk I've been amongst the law enforcement here in Portland amazing guys I've been I praise the way the police handle stuff in this country most of them yeah we have a few dirty cops out there to get end up on you tube and that sucks really does it's like you know does anybody like put a camera on the of the you know the bakers to spit your sandwich you know they don't do that but yeah we give the cop stuff and yet there is a lot of problems with this type of stuff especially towards the blacks you know and we need to be careful of that stuff is as you know it made me see this is the thing we equal the playing field here right unless of course they do certain things against minorities with the car than they do with the white people they do with the the the the people of color suspicious brown people if they do that you know that's that's the thing so and I meant that as a joke by the way I'd be very suspicious brown first what is your racist but it's a joke it's a joke it's a it's a it's a joke because I had a friend of mine one time for college test she'd she basically did this is a sociological experiment she's a brown person she's she's I think she's black brown or whatever she's she's colored skin color your skin she's got some switches to she's darker than I am as you got on a train wearing a shirt that says suspicious black person people giving him the ott giving or the eyes are you really suspicious Piper jog knoll nola see that's the thing is everybody is suspicious in a police state everybody is part of the zombie apocalypse is we just submit walk around like idiots CEO all everything we're doing is okay because you know we're good little zombies we have a good little cards and they show up on our front door we just have to show our faces in there and you so that's the thing is that this is something that bothers me that you know is it was voluntary now it's not voluntary no state can opt out of the program now if a state refuses to comply none of its citizens would be able to exercise their right to board a plane that's how silly this is I mean here's the thing when you look at the real ID card and what other purposes it says here the real the real ID card includes a accessing federal facilities be boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft and see entering nuclear facilities entering purposes only yeah how may enter a nuclear facility tomorrow that's me I got my card can command it's like it's quite what it's like go Wayne's world remember they had their passes going yells Cooper concert well I got my real ID I go to a nuclear power plant looking so it's it's the souls who paid but see that's the thing is the real ID act.

Israelis vote in repeat election centered on PM Netanyahu

"To get but let's talk for a second Israel's election self coming up in next forty eight hours is Israel's second election within like six months or eight months according to Reuters Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu stepped up a bit for far right votes two days before a closely contested election convening his cabinet in the occupied west bank and having it approved legal status for an unauthorized outpost okay first of all there's nothing under international law that says that Israel is barred from building in the so called west bank injured and Samaria those are at best a disputed territories into his caretaker government met on Sunday in the Jordan Valley a largely agricultural area which announced on Tuesday he tends to annex if he wins a fifth term Israeli cabinet and barely held sessions in the west bank now in reality so is that election gambit of course it is but is it illegal now I not only is it not illegal his opponents in the same exact race are celebrating the fact that Netanyahu is talking about doing something with regard to the Jordan Valley the Jordan Valley strategically important area for Israel and always has been and this bizarre notion that Netanyahu is annexing the territory as opposed to applying Israeli sovereignty annexation and applying Israeli sovereignty are not the same thing. is gonna Mitchell bard right about the sort of stuff just need to know the statement was widely misreported as calling for annexation of the territory but he chose words carefully. he said applying sovereignty which Ariel Davidson of the federalist nodes has a different meaning a nation cannot an excellent over which already has sovereign claims meeting that is not that this land is owned by the Palestinians and never was owned by the Palestinians this land is owned by the Jordanians was lost in a war and then Israel to get over. as with other issues related to the status of the disputed territories is as much a part the wisdom of such a move may be debated however it is important to know some of the facts about the Jordan Valley that there were settlements in the Jordan Valley dating all the way back to nineteen sixty seven then any prospective peace deal those areas would end up in Jewish territory you talk about being who is the sponsor of the Oslo Accords also wanted those areas to be under Israeli control because the Jordan Valley has to be under Israeli control or the Jordan River could be cut off from Israel's population. it is also true they say that the blue and white party missing out his chief opponents in this election actually support him. according to the according to an interview in The New York Times the blue and white party supports his basic idea here early in the Jerusalem post they say the blue white party said was pleased to see he was adopting and would like to plan for recognizing the Jordan Valley so the international media trying to turn the Israeli election into a referendum on Netanyahu Netanyahu is the obstacle to peace of only got rid of Netanyahu everything would be all better and they headed out for Netanyahu's and broke a bone headed out for Netanyahu and Barak Obama headed out from Seattle because you want to see a widely reshipment least in which Israel's influence was diminished Mysterons influence was maximized. no one was not he's not lying about this is pretty obvious he kept talking about Ron being a well respected regional power and how he saw the Israel Palestinian issue as one of the key wheels to turn in order to achieve some sort of balance of power in the Middle East now as we've seen that alternate out then that all turned out to be a bunch of nonsense the fact is that Israel and Palestinians have nothing to do with the broader Middle East Israel has made no concessions to the Palestinian authority over the last several years now should day and yet war has not really broken out there specifically because the Saudis are not interested in backing the Palestinians neither are the Jordanians neither are the Egyptians the only people who are interested in pushing a Palestinian terrorist aspirations are exactly the sorts of groups the back terrace in first place for talking of the Turkish government we talk about the Iranian government. in any case writer suggest at this new meeting the government announced it had approved missing out his proposal to turn the outpost above all get a call into a formal settlement twenty years after he was stabilised as a farming community in the Jordan Valley without state sanction. it requires a tension meddling in public remarks of the session Netanyahu said it would be up to the government formed after Tuesday's election to grant final approval. now according to the according to Reuters this is all about how brutal Netanyahu is appealing to far right voters in the cruise supporters deterrent large numbers Netanyahu has been portraying himself as being in lockstep with ultra nationalists of retaining west bank land through annexation. well no that was always we could plan from the could platform was that Israel would retain an enormous amount of the Jewish settlement activity in any peace deal well it is also the perspective a blue and white. it's amazing to watch as the media get an attempt to turn it in Yahoo into the villain here as opposed to the reality the peace deal died a long time ago it died because the Palestinians refused no less than four or five times any effort at peace their views the original Oslo Accords any refused a deal tried to cut by Bill Clinton in two thousand between Ehud Barak and Yasser Arafat Arafat walked away from the table and started intifada there's a ten two piece of our Sharon that was bought out by the Palestinians and would only tried one that was blocked out by Palestinians. Yahoo himself in his first go round in the nineties signed over eighty percent of your day and Samaria in the in the wye river accords but always the problem for the media is that Israelis to intransigent not that its opponents are terrorists. which is the real problem here. opinion polls right now so that we could and its main challenger the centrist blue and white party are running neck and neck. there is no real division on on these issues now blue and white may approach this more slowly and maybe this is an election gambit again the this bizarre idea that your going to be able to cut a different foreign policy of blue and white is not for now the election polls are showing this thing very very close the latest election because the way that works in Israel is there are a variety of parties they get elected to Knesset you have to have at least four seats to sit in the Knesset which is a hundred twenty seats I need to form a majority by putting together a coalition now last time Netanyahu did have enough for a majority the problem was a big door Lieberman who leads one of the parties the Israeli Tina party. refused to join the coalition without earning some concessions from it you know who sent it to ya who simply called an election it looks like the results are gonna be pretty similar right now blue and white are neck and neck with we could but the other parties that would side with Netanyahu in the elections are winning more seats so you mean which is the the sort of right wing alternative to Likud is supposed to win anywhere between seven and ten seats in the in the various polls labor has turned into a non party which is unbelievable a labor used to be the the other major party in Israel all the way up until about nineteen eighty with the election Megan labor had every prime minister of Israel and now they are winning forty six seats in the selection which is truly incredible. so we'll see how this ends up. if you had to lay odds right now you would suggest an anti who probably retains the prime ministership and that again is not because of the people of Israel have fallen for Tierney or anything like that that's because everyone in Israel agrees on security and a no at this point that regardless of whether they nominate Matignon who to leave the government or whether they nominate any guns to lead the government that security is only going to be a shirt by taking a strong stand against terrorism and by refusing to make deals with the Palestinian authority nonetheless there is this bizarre notion in the media that whenever there's an impasse in the Middle East the only liberal democracy in the area is involved in a long piece in The Washington Post about Robert Kagan it's a truly egregious please. Israel and the decline of the liberal order into it really quite disgusting piece and the idea is that BB Netanyahu siding with the nationalists as opposed to liberal internationalists and it really it would be in Israel's best interest if they would just side with a liberal internationalist like France and Germany there's only one problem those are precisely the states that had some of the worst anti semitism problems in Europe Jews are fleeing their on mass there's also the governments that are. trying to make concessions to the Iranians as the Iranians open the call for the extermination of every Jew in the region is unbelievable but this tell me you're going to cover this thing anything yeah who's the bad guy by the way as I say there a lot of people I know on the right who don't want to Yahoo to be prime minister anymore they want any guns suggested that the media will recognize that this is not anything Yahoo problem this is the rest of the world just like in Israel and that's the

"Day, and I figured you know, we would enjoy all the slings and arrows that that love can bring to politicians in Massachusetts this week. It is in laws. Indeed that are the problem here. Right because it's never the wife to the in laws so at any rate. John Tierney, John F Tierney decided was married. His family got him into the soup and he ended up losing his seat because of this and basically. He hadn't done anything in this case. And yet, I mean, we don't know what he knew frankly, but. He wasn't directly responsible for this. But the scandal overshadowed him so much that he lost. And not only did he lose. He lost to another democrat, which is huge. So. This whole story starts and actually one of my favorite things about this. Is that looking at a story stories dated September force. Basically, two months before the guy is actually it's not entire two months. It's like only a month before the guy is actually ousted by Seth Moulton who ends up beating an incumbent and going on. To win. And there's this great story that is slugged something to the effect of John Tierney believes that the scandal is behind him. And I love that. It's love. That it's September fourth. I believe and then the primary in September nights. So he's proven wrong only days from from. When the story comes out this kid, this guy is he grew up in Salem, basically, you know, bay Stater and. He he grows up in Merrimack valley. He ends up getting elected in the nineties. I think it's like ninety five or something that he gets elected. He is the. Elder of the Massachusetts delegation when he's knocked off at the time. And this kid. This is stuff. I didn't actually know about tyranny tyranny I worked when he was going to Suffolk law school as a janitor at the state house. That was his humble beginnings. I know I am. And and he also worked as a clerk, which is quite something. That's like a varied varied role. So he was first elected to congress in one thousand nine hundred ninety six in he ousted Republican coming who I who I know Peter Torkelsson Republican, and it was a really really thin victory three hundred and seventy one votes. So there's a big recount and he finally finally came out the Victor and. And then he lost this seat. So basically the guy. The guy is so sure that everything is is behind him. And of course, it it bites on the on the behind what I wanted to do was was basically get a few basics out there. And and one of the things that people felt was that this ad he put out which allowed his past scandal with his wife. To be on the table when it comes to this election. That was the big one of the big missteps setting made if you don't allow it sorta like Elizabeth more, right? If Elizabeth Warren. Team out at this point. She's had to. But if she did this from the get-go and said, you know, I declared myself as native American on these documents and forms, and then I allowed Harvard University to use me as a minority higher in federal documents. She just brought that all out and let that be instant fodder. A lot of people would consider that a misstep usually you don't want to unload, all your dirty laundry. This guy decided to go with it. I mean, it was already out there. I guess felt like you wanted to put it in front of people. It's called the honor and Christian. I don't know if you. Have it ready again, the title is honor? Let's listen, I'm John Tierney my opponent, Richard as talk a lot about my wife threes, and the mess brothers have gotten into the judge said, I wasn't involved in any way, shape or form. And he was right. The Richardson say he'll do anything to try to distract you won't tell you why the tea party is spending a million dollars on his campaign. A why he supports Paul Ryan's plan to end Medicare? I'm John Tierney. And I approve this message because this race shouldn't be about my family or his family. It should be about yours, and I'll never stop fighting for you. Yeah. Pay no attention to the crazy. Dealings of my in laws and their potential illegal offshore gambling operation that I may or may not have known about and maybe took funds from don't listen to me. It's about you. Okay. That's what this election is about. Is you? So at any rate that was his plan. You know, it seemed obviously to not work very well for him considering he eventually lost not only against to say. But he ended up losing to another democrat before even got a chance to take to say on. I mean to some extent, what's what's sort of surprising is that he made it through one election after this incident. Basically this whole story was broken in. I think around. Twenty ten twenty eleven there was. His his wife decided to plead guilty to to some of this stuff. So she actually was a convicted criminal basically, and he ran in an election in and for some reason managed to get by one eke by one election without without it really harming him. But then of course. The the next two years the globe and other in the Boston Herald did additional dives into what exactly the Representative knew. And didn't know and that ended up really hurting him. There's a story here from from October thirty s in two thousand twelve. Where talks about? Patricia Patrice forgive me. Patrice tierney. Now. I mean, the other interesting thing about Patrice tyranny is that she. She. Is is also supported by this is she ended up meeting him because he was her divorce divorce lawyer. So that I didn't realize that they ended up meeting and falling in love when sale of attorney. John Tierney represented Patrice in her divorce. That's interesting anyway. That is what they do. And and the interesting thing is strangely enough. As she is close to being a convicted criminal or or maybe already is in two thousand ten her own ex husband defense her and so two other friends and just said, she was duped by her brother. There's a story in the Salem news as and this is by local, you know, I mean, this is the guys hometown paper as conquer congressman's wife. Patrice Tierney has often been in the background and is little known by the public on the day. She pleaded guilty to federal tax charges. Those who knew her describe her as honest and loyal and say there is no way she would intentionally violate on. No, no, no. I am. Sure. She was an innocent dupe of her brother said her ex husband, Alan shoe. This is the Allen Choo who who was being divorced. When Tierney was representing his now ex wife and then ended up marrying her. So it's actually sort of astonishing that he did he's being quoted in her defense. He goes on to say, she would never in a million years. Do anything like that she likes being a congressman's wife, that's an odd quote from an ex husband. But whatever she would. She would never do anything. To hurt. John. Okay. Ju an attorney who now lives in Hawaii was married to Patrice for twenty five years. A couple of had you know, what he probably was happy. You didn't have to pay the alimony jerk. Was married to portrays for twenty five years. The couple had three children before divorcing in nineteen ninety-five. Patrice divorce. Lawyer was young Salem man, named John Tierney Tierney married Patrice in April of nineteen ninety seven three months after he was sworn in as the congressman from the sixth district, although it was on the opposite side of Patrice and tyranny in divorce court. He says he has no hard feelings and nothing to say about either one quote. She was a great lady. She's great wife and mother while I don't agree with John's politics who choose Republican is a good lawyer and a good guy. He didn't make me pay any sort of alimony CHU said he's convinced that Patrice Tierney who managed a seven million Bank account with proceeds from her brother. Robert era means illegal offshore gambling operation was only trying to help her family who among us hasn't had a. No good. Il, Il, baton brother, who was then asked us to simply hold some money. Maybe we could just create a Bank account, please in just manage that Bank account. And don't you mind where the money is coming from? I mean, I know seven million seems like a lot of money, but. Is no need to really look into it anymore. Didn't simply just opening that account and letting and managing it, and that's pretty much it. So she had no idea. Of course. She's just trying to help this guy. You know, what he was about to go on the straight and narrow Robert era. Maine. Patrice fifty nine has been caring for her ailing mother. Well, there you go. And serving as de defacto second mother to her brother's three children. Well, there you go. How could you focus on the seven million dollar account and be bothered to find out where this money was coming from when she's so incredibly busy doing these other incredibly noble six. Alan chew described Robert I'm hoping I'm pronouncing this correctly. I'm sorry that I don't know how to pronounce Patrice is brothers last name. Air Maine, who's a fugitive from Justice as quote, not a very nice guy. Oh, interesting. I hate to see your tainted this way says her ex husband Alan shoe, Patrice tyranny grew up in box. I graduated in nineteen sixty nine from mass con- met regional high school where she was a cheerleader national honors society student. She has worked as a massage therapist jewelry, designer self employed bookkeeper, according to campaign finance records. She made donations to tyranny in divall Patrick. That's it. It's interesting. Stephanie la- Duke who is known Patrice journey since the third grade described her as a wonderful person she has been through a lot. The Duke said, you couldn't possibly ask for more loyal friend or family member everything Patrice done and she's done to help her mother. Her brothers children and her family, will you accept? Patrice Tierney is devastated by the charges against her. I'm sure she feels betrayed. So there you go there a there is a friendly media piece in the local paper of people saying how amazing person Patrice Tierney is. And this is an outrage that this. She should even be charged here. I mean, when you get seven million dollars eight an account, and you just trying to help your brother out, right? This guy has always been Abadan. And all you wanna do is just try and give them that last chance and lo and behold seven million, you listen, you do what you can for the family. So that is the story in two thousand ten when they are when I dealing with us. It turns out I think that there are digital issues going on here. And who would have known that Turnley? There were I mean. Cans, of course, being convicted. And and so that's not okay. Certainly. And there's just additional reporting on top of that in terms of. In terms of basically what John Tierney new and win. So listen to this yours Representative John Tierney wife was receiving this is Patrice the portrays who is simply trying to help her family. She was receiving funds from her fugitive brother as far back as the early nineteen ninety s so wait a minute. This is before tyranny was even a congressman. This is before tyranny was even married to her. She got. She got a divorce. And he was representing her when she was receiving these funds, according to records in this globe story, by the way, the trees tyrannies brother was covering her living expense. She was just holding the money for them and using it to buy things like rent in in food, and you know, all the basics, and she may be paid for John tyrannies legal fee with this money. But that was you know, that was really, you know, what was holding it by way of putting it back into the economy and. And getting a few goods and services. But then, but that I mean, how could she have known that? This was this was anything ill-gotten. Really? I mean, her her engagement with her bad brother that she was just trying to help out had no no personal skin in the game. Except for helping spent some money because she needed to pay the lawyer and she needed to pay. I'm still wondering why this ex husband is so happy to help out. I am seriously interested in that. Because the story was. In twenty ten that Patrice Tierney simply managed seven million Bank account, and it turns out indeed that she used that thank account to cover all her expenses. So as we said, including a seven thousand dollar fee, a legal fee for John Tierney who she eventually married yada yada yada at a time. By the way, she's getting this money and using it in spending it on stuff at a time. When her brother was under federal investigation for running a sports betting business from Lin from his lynnfield home. So it's not even like, you know, when we finally learned about this in two thousand ten the brother is like off-shores, he's on the run or something. So it seemed like he was away somewhere or just wasn't, you know, but no indeed at the time. He's just inland field. Although there is no evidence that John Tierney new debt. Her brother was was paying part of his own Bill. Oh, God the funds that this brother paid to Patrice Tierney raise new questions about Giannini's repeated statement that he was unaware of the extent of his wife's financial dealings with his brother-in-law. So of course, you start from a place that she had no idea she simply managing she's she simply doing this out of the goodness of her heart to help him out..
