Mental Health Counselling for Displaced Kids in Tigray

"To this week's interview era chance to hear from tigray where spiraling conflict that started last november between ethiopian government forces and separatists has created a humanitarian catastrophe in the north the country. As ever it's the women and children who've suffered most after fleeing for their lives in many cases imagine the impact on young minds on the ground to help them in sheera our mental health counselors from the un's migration agency. I am for the latest. I spoke to media officer cave away. From the international organization for migration in ethiopia. And here she is now if you can imagine them. Im have set up a mental health and psychosocial support clinic in one of the adp sides and overcrowded. Either beside insurer and next to it is an. Im fixed clinic as well which provide medical concentate calls notations other pharmacy and other services by different medical professionals. That's not only just the idp's but also the host communities within this id besides so these are internally displaced people so i no we do fall into acronyms at the united nations but these return displaced people from the tieger conflict. What's the latest from sheera. I'm not sure when you were lost there. But what can you tell us about. How many people have been displaced so far from this conflict in northern ethiopia. Yes the based in. Iom's latest displacement tracking matrix or dtm as we call it We do emergency site assessment. And we're already around six. "Forget that /capspace euros lyn another. You came from us so a couple other just like small things. We can talk about here before we get into the end. A little notes that i had on the strategy. The bucks have done a couple of things that i've really liked it and i i we got asked about this Think both you. And i end a hundred i last week On our spotify green rooms about buds performance. And i think. I finding it pretty hard other than maybe playing teague a little bit but you probably got play tieger forbes at least a few minutes at some time or another But i think costa the adjustments have been made. They're going to switching the bucks of been pretty seamless even when brook lopez in their electors play. Were the sons ransom. Double-screening action up top tried to run a little flare screen for jae crowder and brook. Lopez stepped out on the floor to switch outage jae crowder. Which you could tell isn't that wasn't like they're normal scheme. They don't usually switch off the ball. They usually have lopez dropping back but lopez. It's like well. The honest just got screened. Like i gotta get outta here. We're going up a wide open. Three of those. Those sorts of places have been really nice communication. They've gotten better and better at the switching as time has gone on. That's been their default group for a while. Now he's playing the guys more minutes. You wonder what might have happened for these bucks. Postseasons past had they simply played all their guys more minutes than they did back. Then you know. They had deeper teams at those points. But the middleton and honest were better than the guys who were coming in and replacing them. They're playing they gains. Those guys. were playing thirty six minutes. And they're losing a but they've cleaned that up finally They had a nice little play that i liked. How much by design this was but they had a middleton and lopez pick and roll with yada starting off on the opposite block and so they had jaanus lift up as lopez roll to the basket so eytan felt like he had to help into the lane particularly because they wanted to put two guys on the ball sometimes of middleton so jaanus was able to pop out to the top of the circle catch the ball with no indirectly in front of him and then accelerate to the rim and Get a lay up on eight. And i thought that was really nice to just kind of get jaanus a runway to attack quickly so that was a nice play and they've also been good after chris. Paul on defense a lot out if you notice that. But yes and paul has a great reputation defender. And he's a wonderful team defender. But you know he's thirty six years old and he's got a six foot wingspan and his his one on one game has lost a. He's more of us. It happens a lot older guys. Like he's more of a strength player now than they can't always feet quite as well and so going after him one on one you know. It's sort of in a weird way. It's i'm not saying they're the same player. But it's sort of like robert covington like you think this guy is a good reputation. Has a reputation defender the best thing to do. Sometimes it's just go after them individually and then 'cause then you take away all the other stuff that they do well well and paul he still has the great hands. But if if you don't let them strip you you can either shoot over him or you can spin up. He's got to move on defense either. Go for the strip oil. Try and pull the chair those so as long as you don't let him get you on either of those like you should be able to get a pretty decent shot And drew went right at them for a layup in the fourth middleton was able to make and also you tired about as well i think another thing. That really stuck out was monty. Williams clearly came to the conclusion after the to milwaukee games that he had limit chris. Paul zeman it's paul ran out of gas by at the end highlighted of course by that turnover in game four where he just fell down a for no real reason honestly. We tried to watch the films. Tv got tripped. He just slipped tired. Who knows what was had a mishandle and then in this game. They put in thirty minutes and he was much better. he's he hit his threes. He was twenty two points eleven assists but keep the time the little bit about a time when he was in there. When book wasn't i thought they did a better job of creating shots even if they missed a bunch of women. I realize booker was way in the plus. Even though he played forty two minutes they lost so but i think wearing him down and either he's going to play fewer minutes or he's going to be ineffective longer. I think on both ends. They have really just used their superior conditioning now. Chris great conditioned athlete but he's smaller than drew all day and he's older and draw. They should have the advantage against him in that one. I also think that the sons are really missing. Dario sharokh and some of those minutes because that helped give them a good passer for a little bit differently. Don't have a role man options other than i mean. I actually think that as the series is gone along that playing charge at the four might have actually been with eight and might have actually been something they considered to defensively that would have heard them. Potentially but i think that could have gotten them. More of a additional playmaker like make plays on short roles to set screens when with that they couldn't just switches easily when lopez was on the floor. one player. i want to bring up early. Part there will be echoes in later. Play but i was incensed on. I was actually normally watching audio but so is a play. I think it was in the second quarter where the sun's steel and they i think. Pj tucker fouls. I wish i remembered it was basically disappointed where devon booker then dunks it and yoenis foul. Yeah yeah and that was those. I watched that obviously Today and i still was enraged by that first and foremost that whatever rule you wanna use to determine what it intentional foul to stop a fast break is that has to be clear. That was the entirety of pj..

Getting to Dollar One

"Talked about money for a couple of weeks. So let me give you one of the other the most important roles and that get two dollar one so what I mean by that is get to the sale. If you have of an idea and we all entrepreneurs we have ideas all the time right now ideas just keep on coming and they all seem like they're going to be great and then you have one that's like this is it. This is the idea idea. I'M GONNA charge for them with this idea. So when you're at that moment what you WanNa do is get tieger. I offer as quickly as possible. Don't put a ton of time into creating a great brand and decreased beautiful website into some super polished materials. Just get an offer out there so in my product Formula I teach the seed launch. This is my absolute favorite. The best way to get started is either is either put out an offer to coach people or put out an offer for a small group program. Just put out. The offer are very simple page. You can actually do this via social an interest drive people to an order page but get that offer out there because this is all about finding out whether it's actually a viable offer you know we can all dream up ideas and dream up offers and dream up products dream services but until someone actually gives us cash until they pull out their wallet and put down a credit card. You don't know what to viable so don't go spending a lot of money an unproven idea. Get the first dollar. Get the first sale. Hopefully it's the first dozen sales or or something and that you've proven and then you can start putting money into it too many times. I've seen people including friends of mine. Spent have come with ideas. He this is going to be amazing putting all this effort and create something beautiful taking months even a year ear to create something beautiful inexpensive. But they don't know whether it's going to sell there's this whole idea of the minimum viable product nets. What you want is The minimum viable product of minimum viable offer. They can put out there and you will learn so much but putting that I offer route about what people care about and what they're willing to spend for it will change everything so get the dollar one get dollar one

"Colorado voters didn't really clear that they want commonsense solutions and not what is frankly, anti gay extremism masquerading as family values rate LGBT students, and their families are valuable to and they also deserve medically accurate information on how to make healthy decisions that people who came to committee to disparage the humanity of LGBT folks, don't represent Colorado values people who are going to compare LGBT children to or to beastie -ality. That's that's not appropriate. And it's absolutely not what this Bill does Jack. What are the next? What are the next steps in the process? Could there be could this be changed or altered in some ways before it goes to? A full vote. You think the bill's going to be in the appropriations committee that will go to the house for second reading, then it will go to the house for a final vote. And after that it'll move over the Senate I was asked if we're willing to make any compromises on this Bill, I think everyone is always willing to make compromises that improve public policy. What I'm not willing to do is go fifty percent on telling LGBT kids that their lives how value and that they heard beloved members of our community is absolutely what about this opt in versus opt out that seems like an important criterion. Could you guys allow the opt in idea? Well, I just like she's been pretty clear for a while. I think going back to two thousand and eight and two thousand and seven that parents don't need to opt in because districts. Yeah. Right. Not every district. Teachers and every parent gets sent a detailed list of what's going to be in the classroom. They can opt your student out of everything right? Only only the things they want. You might decide that they don't want their kids hearing about LGBT people existing and that's up to them. But they might still decide that they want their kids to be there for a western on preventing dating violence, and and and staying safe that is planned Parenthood's Jack Tieger Planned Parenthood of the rocky mountains, Jack or Jack excuse me, Jack. I would just say how depressed I was like I would talk about how pointless life was. I don't see the point of it all that stuff. Right. And so then I got put on medication and then. Yeah. And then that happened later. Yeah. No. I knew not certain, you know, I knew not to say certain stuff and like when I was in school. I knew I like war along sleeves and like even in the summertime so like fried yet change for Jim I would like change in the stall. So that no one would see anything, and you know, like the only way they found out was they did physicals because I went to public school. And so basically, what happened was they needed to get physicals on ready in the school and some kids. Couldn't afford to go to the doctor. And so they were like, well, then we're gonna make a mandatory physicals for everybody. Right. And so everyone had to go down and get weighed and checked out by the nurse. Right. And I get down to the nursing go. Fuck like, you know, like, okay. Take your clothes off, you know. And like, I'm like, I'm good. I can't like go get physical somewhere else. No you have to. Like, you don't have to call fucking ambulance. And then I went and got put in an ambulance say. Good for them. Yeah. No now. But like about things where so many people drop the ball. Yeah. "Time of year for that. Okay. Moving on. Folks regarding this caravan. This is absolutely disgraceful. What has happened here with this? With this attack on our border, which is what it was. And let's not pretend it was otherwise right now. So a border official was on CNN the other day, and this is important that you understand this because the left. Sorry. I'm just looking for the while here. It is okay. The left is tried this before listen nothing is talking to a friend of mine in in the gym the other day, really nice guy. I chat with once in a while. And he was making a comment that when you study history, and he's right show that you realize there's nothing new under the sun. Like, this is all we've been here before history technologies change, but human beings are the same right? And one of the things I wanted to read you in on is the left understands the PR shredded the left understands the PR strategy behind turning public opinion. Now, the question is what are they trying to turn public opinion against and why does that matter to you the migrant caravan, this is very strategic what's happening here. The caravan Joe the public opinion has largely turned against this migrant caravan chaos is not a brand chaos doesn't sell if you read a lot of the material I've been reading and getting some stuff I'm getting from activist groups in DC, the the left. And a lot of these connected groups that were financing the logistics behind moving douses of people to hit the US border roughly the same time, right? The people who are doing this show. Let's be crystal clear, they thought this was going to be a political winner against Donald Trump because it was gonna make his administration looked like it was chaotic and let me give you the background. And if I'm not clear on the show stopped me what I'm getting from. My folks is that the success the left hat on two fronts on the travel ban. And by success. I mean, this success in courts and in the media Trump who's banning Muslims. That's a lie. That's just not in bud. Muslims are not banned from the United. That's just a lot. You're an idiot. If you believe whatever the media put that out there. So they had a lot of success with the travel ban in the media and the courts. They also Joe had a lot of success in the media, politically speaking and in the courts with the florist a settlement the separation of children from their parents who cross the border illegally, they the left. Feels like those were huge political winners and legal winners for them in the courts. Right. So what I'm getting from my peeps. Is that the left decided that if one or two wins was good the travel ban and the separation of children at the border, politically because the media is in our pockets and ally for us that what better way Joe to make this worse for Donald Trump than to send tens of thousands of people to the border at the same time to make this look like, it's a totally a train wreck. The Trump administration we could file lawsuits, and we could basically open a border on her own. Yeah. You tracking? They grossly miscalculated grossly. Miscalculated public opinion is overwhelmingly not plurality wise. Majority wise against this caravan. It has been a political disaster and the legal system as of yet. Is not complete. Now. Listen, the judges are not in our pockets right now, we obviously lost with judge judge tee gar, but they haven't opened the border yet. Again, I'm not suggesting that it wasn't a loss in court the legal systems a train wreck pleased on I'm not defending them. It's a mess that judge Tieger guard decision was awful that basically you can come anywhere. You can you can show up anywhere along the border and claim a silent. It's an absurd outrageous decision. I think we'll win in the supreme court, but the left is worried. They're going to lose that decision in the supreme court and give Trump victory, and they're worried because public opinion is going against them. Listen, I'm telling you to people I'm getting this from our very well connected. The leftist groups are panicking. We're winning on this one because chaos is not salesmanship. Nobody likes chaos we are winning. What does that have to do with the storming of the border?.

"Progressive voices network a federal judge temporarily barred the Trump administration late Monday from enforcing a policy to refuse asylum to immigrants who legally cross the US Mexico border temporary restraining order says the president may not rewrite immigration law to impose conditions forbidden by congress in his order. "British Airways taxes, you can actually pay for it. With your venture miles earn double. Earn a thousand points, but you could use fifty thousand points to knock off the five hundred dollars surcharge. So. In the quest for as free as possible. I mean, having a like venture does make a lot of sense because you can just pay for an Uber to the airport, and they'd just wipe it off. The the the Bill there's no real jumping through hoops. And now you can literally do both sides of that equation. You can use your cap one miles transfer them for the award ticket, and then charge the surcharge Tieger Kaplan card at us more of the miles to pay off the search ours literally becomes completely free. So do you have the venture cord? So I would love to have the venture card. Unfortunately, last time I applied for it. I was denied for having too many cards and not spending enough on them. Something about me having twenty five credit cards, and maybe not undone. Luckily, I got mine years ago grandfathered in because I spent tons of on the tax on hotels com. And we're gonna spend a ton more now that we can transfer the miles. Do you think you'll be eligible? So what is that rules? It just basic that was I think that's not necessarily a sad rule. But basically cap one has a certain type of customer. They're obviously looking for. Your customers that are going to use their cards shocking. Shocking. The other thing that's important to keep in mind about Capital One is you can only have two personal cap one cards at the same time. So if you already have some other Kaplan cards in your watt saver card or the quicksilver card, then you're not going to be able to get the venture rewards unless you close one of twelve Asli like all major rewards card. You've got to have good credit to get this. So generally over seven hundred you should be good with decent income. But it kind of depends who should what type of person or travelers should get this card and kept one is even has a fairly liberal policy about approving people as far as with credit scores. So you might even be able to get it for a little less smaller score than that lower score. But this is a great every day card. This is a car you can keep in your wallet or purse when you have a category or purchase that does not get covered by a bonus with the bonus multiplier on another car. This is the card you pull out because you're going to be getting one and a half transferred miles. For every dollar you spend. It's a car that anybody can carry around and use when they don't have a card that gets them three times on restaurants, or whatever it might be right because even those carts with four fifty five fifty annual fees offer multiples that are.
