Silicon Valley Bank Shut Down by State Regulators
"We just got news right before the show that the California department of financial protection and innovation shut down some common valley bank and then appointed the FDIC as a receiver. And now we have a proper bank failure in 2023. Ensured deposits will be fully accessible by Monday, they say. And then at TSC is going to try to make uninsured depositors as whole as possible. This is the 18th largest bank or was 18 largest bank in the U.S.. This is the largest bank failure since the Great Recession. Man, I love entropy. Zach, and he takes on this? Yeah, bank runs are crazy, all this is nuts. This is not so we're seeing this unfold in real time. You know, I think it's not just Peter Thiel, right? We saw pantera. We saw a bunch of other VC firms say, hey, portfolio companies, you might want to get your money out of Silicon Valley bank, go like real quick. Well, this was all unfolding Thursday night. So that may have been sort of the death knell, but it's certainly not what I think caused it. At its root, you know, you saw sort of Arthur Hayes tweeting. I think it was yesterday saying that, you know, Jay Powell, Jerome Powell, has broken the U.S. banking system. I guess arguably by curtailing sort of bond buying, right? So you have some of these macroeconomic ripples that are unfolding across. The banking sector is not just crypto in this instance. I think silver gate was rightly capturing headlines. We saw a little bit of grave dancing from the likes of Elizabeth Warren and other lawmakers who were long wary and skeptical of silver Gates involvement with crypto. Silicon Valley that's less of the story here. I think it's more tech startups rather than crypto startups. They certainly served a few crypto startups, but by and large, we're talking about one of the preeminent banks that we're serving an emerging class of web two startups in California and beyond. So yeah, pretty wild to see this really unfold against the backdrop of what had been some otherwise positive signs in the economy that were announced even earlier this morning.

Driver arrested after crash through fence at Texas Capitol
"A driver has been arrested after crashing through a fence at the Texas state capitol. And SUV drove through a fence Thursday night at the Texas state capitol in Austin in a statement sergeant Victor Taylor with the Texas Department of Public Safety, says the vehicle was driven up to south steps of the building before stopping. Taylor says the investigation is ongoing, the sole occupant is in custody, and there are no additional known threats at this time. NFL regular-season ratings down 3% over last season
"NFL regular season ratings saw 3% decrease in last season, which was not unexpected with Thursday Night Football moving from Fox and NFL network to exclusively airing on Amazon Prime Video. The 272 regular season games averaged 16.7 million viewers across television and digital platforms, the league also said that 185 million fans watched games at some point during the 18 weeks, despite the dip, it is the third highest average since 2016. School head: Some knew boy had gun before teacher shot
"A school official says a first grader's backpack was searched before last week shooting in Virginia. School system superintendent George Parker told parents Thursday night in an online meeting that a school official was notified about the weapon before the 6 year old shot the teacher at a school in Newport News. He said the boys backpack was searched before the shooting, but the gun was not found at that point. The police chief has previously said the boy brought the gun to school in his backpack, the 25 year old teacher who was shot in the chest is listed in stable condition after initially suffering what were then called life threatening injuries. So it'll be interesting to see how Gino goes against that, not only having DK and Tyler Lockett with the ability to kind of stretch things on the outside. Every dean of swag who just said right there feel is a plus because Kenneth walker is coming back into the lineup for them tonight. So that's going to help Gino Smith out tremendously. We saw Gino over the last couple of struggle a little bit. Hit the walking now in the lineup in those games, but now when you look at a young rookie like this, just dominating the NFL and not afraid the gashing up in between the tackles of bouncing on the outside, the play action pass game certainly slows things down, but Gino Smith. So wondering company on the other side of the ball for the San Francisco forty-niners are going to have their work cut out for them tonight. Sure will. They always make yarn. That's why I go to go. But let me say something too because I know a lot of people talk about the San Francisco forty-niners and how well they defend and how well they defend the run. Key was there. I played on some really good run defenses in Dallas. And the teams that were able to have success because they didn't shy away from it or the ones that put us in the most stress. So Seattle better go into this game, not just saying we gonna throw the run game out of the window and try to figure out how to have offense against this defense. They better attempt it at the minimum to keep this defense honest. Gotta stay true to who you are offensively. With a win, and I, by the way, San Francisco would win their second division title under Kyle Shanahan, let's dive into this game a little bit more with Mina and Dan from a different angle, meaning we'll start with you, the Geno led Seahawks have lost three of their past four games, including that lost last week, where do you know kind of put it on his own shoulders after a pair of interceptions? What has become less effective for that offense in recent weeks? Well, first all, the fan Gino, one of those interceptions should have been a free play and he thought it was going to be very easy. But that said, he has been pressing. And I think there's a couple of reasons for that field. One is some of the easy completions that they used to draw for him have no longer been there. Notably, the boot game, which was an automatic first down for much of the season. In recent weeks, the EPA play on those has been negative in large part because edge rushers are just peeling off and going for Geno. The way you counter that is you run the football, which is another thing that the Seahawks has struggled to do over the last few weeks, even frankly when Ken's walker was in the lineup. This was a challenge for them. And it's so important in this game because of course, against this forty-niners pass rush, you do not want to be in third and long. So they have to get it back on track. I think to get the boot game and make that more effective and then also just to keep dino Smith from pressing as much as he has. Yeah, tonight, it just feels like a game that if the Seahawks are going to win, it's going to take Gino Smith best game of his career. Okay? I know that Marcus just said, don't get away from the run game. Sure. And Mina just talked about how it would help their boot game. San Francisco has not allowed a 60 yard rusher in 13 games ridiculous Dano. That's the longest streak since 1933. We're talking 90 years. So I would ask actually argue you better not even try to run the football because Mina just hit like you don't want to get into those third and long situations and I agree. But this just feels like a game that Seattle and Gino have to be very aggressive on first down, not efficient. Take your shots downfield. You are not methodically going to march the ball downfield on this defense. Take your shots, take your shots, take your shots, first down, second down, first down mindset. We start the nation's capital where two of the league's best interior defensive lineman take the field on Sunday Night, this season Jonathan Allen, and Dexter Lawrence ranked second and third respectively in pressures amongst interior defensive linemen only KC's Chris Jones is a head of them. So Mina, I'm gonna start with you. Which one of these guys takes over the matchup between the Giants and the commanders on Sunday Night? Field, I'm going to cheat. The answer is both of them. Thank you. The story of the game, these two big men are balling to skill Marcus's language a bit. And really, I think whether either of these offenses is any success as if they can avoid getting into a cash rush situations because both actually outside of even Lawrence and Allen, both defensive lines are better than both offensive lines in this game. They got to run the ball well, they got to get those quarterbacks on the move because if they don't, Allen and Lawrence will eat. Who loves a flex game between the Giants and the commanders, we all do. All right. We all does. Let's go to the Titans who have struggled significantly on defense against play action this season, Tennessee ranks 29th in opponent QBR and has allowed in league high ten touchdown passes on play action this season Sunday they'll face the chargers team that uses play action. Oh what the 8th highest rate in the league. All right, so key, is this trend continue by Justin Herbert and the Chargers against the Titans this weekend? Absolutely. Run the football to Austin necula. Put the football in the belly of him pull it out, go over the top play action pass because the secondary can't handle the trees, the trees of Allen Williams and Everett at the tight end spot. Justin Herbert is going to kill them with the play action pass game. Looking for a lot of points on Sunday in that game, but again, has huge playoff implications. Let's look from the Chargers and the Titans to the chiefs who have excelled on defense with the use of their screen game and by defensive mean offensive force. This season Patrick Mahomes leads the league in QBR, touch on passes and ranks second and first down rate when throwing screen passes, 38% of his screen passes have result, resulted in a first down. That's a 13% higher percentage than the league average. And those are great numbers there, but does the tape match up with the numbers? There's no doubt about it. This is the best screen team in football. And we talk about all the time. This team is going to face offensively so many too high defenses. So many shell defenses. So can they run it with their 12 or 13 personnel and check absolutely, but this is another way that they counted that as well. They're great with and it takes everybody the wide receivers in their releases taken defenders. The landmarks of the backs and or tight ends get in that screen pass. The way that you offensive line communicates who's got who when they get out into their blocking and the timing of it, all that matters, they're the best coach team, screen wise in the NFL and their best, they're the biggest. They are the best executing screen team in the NFL. It's a pleasure to watch on tape. They can throw it downfield. They can also throw it behind the line of scrimmage for big plays. This is going to be about who's opposite from Trayvon digs. And Trevor Lawrence knows it, just like I talked about, the copycat league when we saw the Chargers last week again, this is going to be a similar situation. You will be attacked. One, I want to see how Dan Quinn either address and tries to help because this will be the best group of why I receivers that the cowboys have faced in a few weeks. And I'm looking forward to seeing how not only how they adjust to that. We know Ingram is going to be working the middle of the field. So at times to your point MK, these guys will be on the island, man to man against some of these receivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars. It has to be a concern based on what we saw last week with the Houston Texans. So I'm just I'm really interested to see how Dan Quinn shifts and tries to help underneath underneath Kelvin Joseph over the top of Kelvin Joseph and see if that compromises your defense in any way with the way that Trevor Lawrence is playing. Seeing Trevor Lawrence plays so well as a young player so good. Just from a fan of his game, the job that Doug Peterson and press Taylor have done instilling the confidence back into him. I don't believe we can kind of quantify that. My favorite part of the offense right now and this is where they're going to test Dallas a little bit is how they've got like very specific roles for each guy and what they ask each guy in their past game to do and Evan Ingram is starting to come on for them because they're not asking them to be somebody that he's not. Oftentimes it's like very simple stuff. Hey Evan, bottom of screen. Run a shallow cross. This is a very easy route for you down in the red zone. Run away from a guy that you are faster and bigger than. That's not hard to do unless you're incapable of running fast. Like run a flat route. I'm not going to ask you to be this elite route runner or make these incredibly difficult catches, but you're just a guy that we kind of want to get the ball in your hands to allow you to be a yard after the catch up. I mean, bottom of screen, he's going to run a 5 yard hitch, go up, treble, throw it to you. These aren't things that are tasking him too much with the nuance of route running 'cause that's not what he is. We'll give you a little play big screen. Again, it's not the exact role that like a debo Samuel is, but it's not all that different either. It's how many different ways can we get the it's like, where's Waldo? How many different ways can I take him and move him around and give him those touches? And Tamina's point versus man coverage, I'll be interested to see how Dallas tries to defend him. It's such a good point because Evan engram was drafted where he was because of his incredible athleticism and there's times where that hasn't been taken advantage of. He had the drops in New York. What you just described and I think why he had this breakout game is a realization. We just got to get the ball in this dude's hands. And if that continues against Dallas, I mean, it could. Really it just comes down to whether or not Trevor has enough time because his playmakers in space can beat, goes down. You guys have me flashing back to the combine. Four, four 40, four, four, four, 40 four, Evan Ingram. Love that guy in college. He's been kind of the old miss version of himself in the pro level now. We heard Marcus talking about the pressure on the cornerbacks in the passing game. You think the running game will also test that group. How come? Because I don't know if there's an offense that gets the ball to the perimeter in their run game as consistently in a strategically as Jacksonville does. You know, Mina talked about like Trevor Lawrence's playmaking ability and his pocket movement, but also like the reality that they want to try to get the ball outside and force those guys to tackle one of the reasons why is because here we go. Defensive backs can't necessarily cut guys offensive lineman wise anymore. So you get those guys outside the tackle box. There's 330 pounds running athletically. The Dallas secondary and those corners are going to have to be willing to come on and take tackles on and trap his ETN is a difficult tackle out on the perimeter man. I think they're going to challenge a perimeter for Dallas both through the air and on the ground. Dan, I'm glad you said that, look, the most important person when it comes to this run defense for Dallas is going to be Donovan Wilson. He's going to be a free hitter. He's going to have to get Travis head to end on the ground. The edge is obviously will be under attack. That's where Dallas has been harmed the most this season on the ground. But when you have those that safety down that strong safety down with the opportunity to tackle and to your point, Travis at the end is not easy to get on the ground when you meet him in a certain level of space going side to side. So Donovan Wilson is going to have his hands full. He got to make plays in the hole, man. It's amazing the Jaguars haven't really gotten Travis CTN involved that much as a pass catcher. And yet he's still having a great season. That was the strength of his back in his cloud stage of cleansing. This is, of course, the first time that Brock purdy will be starting in his young career on a Thursday night. And his head coach Kyle Shanahan, he certainly believes that purdy can remain this consistently strong performer that we've seen of late. The primary reason he believes that is the growth that he has witnessed from purdy these last couple of weeks, Shanahan basically saying, if he gets these opportunities, he's going to continue to get better, continue to improve the more that he gets a chance to play on the field. There's also this caveat that I also want to add on purdy. And that's the fact that he is seemingly cucumber cool when it comes to being under duress and under pressure last week in the win over Tampa Bay, purdy was 6 of 7 with two touchdowns when being pressured. "Over. Teams are having problems and also Christian Wilkins on the inside. So I think a lot of this. A lot of what you see with the Buffalo Bills to me offensively. And give credit to the New York Jets and that defensive line and how dominant they were. And then Josh Allen having to revert to using his legs, but also think a little movement would help this offense for his explosive as Josh Allen is. I think this plays right into their hands, though swag who being at home being in this weather, you know how I feel about the cold and warm weather teams going to the cold and having the play of Josh Allen can keep the turnovers down. Don't make the late game mistakes trying to be a hero of the game is close. Just play within yourself. One of the things I talk to brandy being the general manager, the other day of the Buffalo Bills and one of the things he said to me and said, this is why we drafted Josh. We knew we would be in situations like this where we got to throw the ball in cold weather. We've got to utilize big strong quarterback play out of him winning the season gets to the point where it is now because if they have the desire to go to the Super Bowl and they're going to have home field advantage at some point, he's got to play at a certain level in this weather because of weather is here to stay. Well, as we know here, that weather starts in November for buffalo, right? They had to move a game in November to Detroit. Of course. Did I see that they're calling for like legit 9 inches of snow? Things change fast, but the national weather service did say they could be a total of 15 to 22 inches throughout the entire weekend. So we'll see whether that impacts the game. How much is on the field? How much is not, I can promise you nope. I'll be on my couch. It just sleds already, bob. With the kids. The kids are going to blast me again. Up there in Buffalo. But Dan, let's get back to the football side of this. Take us through the three most important things for the bills game plan on Saturday. I don't think the signing of Cole Beasley is like this game changing thing, but I don't think it's a little either. How he works the middle of the field is going to be big for this offense. Those choice routes that he had such a great fuel for leverage. The color of the defense. You know, finding spots in zone, I think is a big deal. The second thing is using that motion, force the defense for Miami to communicate, see if you can get some information. Remember, Miami is a big pressure defense. If I motion a guy over and nobody moves, great, now I know the blitz is coming and then that brings to the final point. You better have a plan for pressure and I know baby face just talked about how good Josh Allen has been versus that blitz. This season, but Miami's not gonna change. I mean, Miami's gonna continue to come after you and they did have some moments of success. This past weekend coming after Los Angeles in Justin Herbert. So Josh Allen in that Buffalo Bills offense. He's got to have a really good understanding of, okay, if they are going to bring the pressure, what's our plan for? And you guys hear me say this all the time. Is it try to get it out and survive or block it up and hurt you? And it'll be interesting to see if the weather impacts what their thought is, buffalo offensively, because sometimes you want to go, let's block them up and hurt them, but if we're getting 7 inches of snow and crazy wind, maybe it's a different option for buffalo. That's why I go both these teams like to throw the football certainly mine and love to throw the football down the field. If it is a weather impacted game, if there is snow all over the yard, is that favor one offense versus the other on Saturday? I think, you know, I would go favor in Buffalo because of Josh Allen. I mean, look, he's the ultimate equalizer when it comes to as far as much as we've ran it about the Buffalo Bills needing to run the football more, which I still think they do. I think they get away from it sometimes and it concerns me with a team with so much success on the outside, but with Josh Allen legs, his physical ability, and I know the health always comes into question. I would age out buffalo in the run game in this one. Whether it's a run game or a pass game, I a job buffalo no question about it because when you got a big strong quarterback and damn knows this that can pierce that football through the wind, oh my God, that is amazing to have. And we'll see whether or not Miami has Jeff Wilson junior for their running game on Saturday night. I would have a couple of weeks ago. We saw the bills get after it on the ground, perhaps they can again, this upcoming Saturday night. Hey, Trevor Lawrence has been on a tear of late for the Jaguars. "Spent with defensive coaches thinking how in the hell are we going to stop this run game? It was thought about that with Jimmy Garoppolo. It was thought about that with any quarterback that lines up back there in the success and the addition of Christian McCaffrey as much as we talked about Brock purdy. He got lost in the fact that Christian McCaffrey had a monster game on the ground. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, one of those defenses, we set used to say you couldn't run the football over. I think this element is what's been added though. His ability for extension to play. That's what this offense really like. Jimmy Garoppolo wasn't going to extend plays. Give guys a bit more time to either uncover or go pick up some of those difficult third downs when the defense potentially has your number. It'll be the same for the Seattle Seahawks. If you can't stop the run, your ain't gonna beat the forty-niners and I might could play quarterback for him because the picture is that clear. Your arm is drunk. Yeah. Marcus, maybe not about you playing quarterback. I don't know how that would go, but I told you about everything else you said. You know, Brock Bernie's gonna face some pretty difficult challenges in December and then in January. Maybe, you know, as long as the skulls, but this really is one of them 'cause it's a mismatch for Seattle's defense. In a number of ways, I can't stop play action. They can't stop screens. But really, it's a success of other teams on the ground. That's been killing him. And it's also the particular types of runs that I give them trouble. So last week against Carolina, there was a drive in the fourth quarter where they just spam counter over and over and over. And let me tell you every single one of those runs was successful. Wow. And this has been a trend actually all year long. The Seahawks defense is actually third in the NFL in the arts for Carrie against inside zone. But against power and counters, so gap runs, they are third worst, allowing over 7 yards per carry. Now this forty-niners offense has had a pretty diverse running game this year. You've seen different types of approaches. I wouldn't be as surprised if we see a lot of polars tonight because that's something that Seattle has struggled against all year. Completely agree. Last week, their best run game of the season San Francisco, it was a lot of zone stuff a lot of the split flow coming back across the line of scrimmage, but MK, I remember when we did the whole sit down in the evolution of the run game for this year, we talked about how they were really becoming a gap scheme type of run game. I think the problem for Seattle, at least from my offensive perspective is, is when they see those gap schemes, poor fits. They're not awful when the zone scheme happens in the fits and what I mean by that is like guys hitting with the right shoulder, sending the ball to the right way. They really struggle doing that versus that gap scheme. I completely agree with a bunch of gap schemes tonight. Yeah, key players out or missed part of last week's game for Seattle in both Shelby Harris. He was sick and obviously a big outwoods who's the best run defender on that team alongside puna Ford. We'll see how much those guys are available tonight. It's week 15, as we said, we are in full swing. And I told you Adam Schiff had a bunch of quarterback updates. Let's begin in Baltimore chefy with Tyler Huntley. Is he good to go to start for the ravens this Saturday? Feel he's good to go, Lamar Jackson is not Tyler Huntley has essentially cleared through concussion protocol. He is expected to start Saturday, Lamar Jackson is ruled out and the soonest he could come back, obviously, would be on Christmas Eve versus the Atlanta Falcons, so we have to Tyler Huntley on Saturday to keep Baltimore's playoff hopes alive. Russell Wilson limited in practice today still in that concussion protocol from the big hit he suffered on Sunday on this plate when he went face first to the ground, still think it would be a huge surprise if he wound up playing in a Russell Wilson can't play on Sunday. Bears quarterback Justin Fields who miss practice yesterday due to an illness was back at practice today in full which tells you that he is tracking to be able to play on Sunday for the Chicago Bears. They're coming up to bari, came back to work a little sick, but obviously feeling better today a good sign for Chicago and earlier today the jets quarterback Mike white told reporters that he plans to play on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. He's been limited in practice due to the rib injuries that he sustained on Sunday against buffalo on this hit the other head took a beating on Sunday, but Mike white has made it known that he wants to play on Sunday against Detroit. It's also worth pointing out this week that Robert solace said that Zach Wilson is now the jets number two quarterback backing up Mike white. It could be making a second career site in the start tonight and the beautiful city of Seattle that you see right now. The reason we say might is because he's currently listed as questionable for the game after suffering a bleak injury this past Sunday. For more, we check in at the Domino's pregame headquarters where Adam Schefter is standing by chef. What do we know about Brock Purdue's availability for this game? Listed as questionable field as you mentioned due to a bleak and rib injuries and he is expected to start. It'll be his first NFL road start in a tough environment in Seattle against the Seahawks team that's fighting for a playoff work, but keep in mind he's not fully healthy and that's why he got the questionable tech during practice this week and they were light limited practices because of the short week with the game on Thursday night. The forty-niners did get some work for Josh Johnson, who they saw and once they lost Jimmy Garoppolo to the broken foot. So yes, rock purney is expected to start and yes, the forty-niners also have prepared Josh Johnson in the event that they need to turn to him tonight, which tells you that Brock purdy is not fully healthy. Jeffrey, I believe his proper name is Josh well traveled Johnson as he's played for about half the NFL by now in his career. More from shift throughout the show, because there are a ton of quarterback updates around the league today. And let's go back to Brock purdy. So if he does play tonight, let's keep this keep our eyes on this. The four 93 quarterback has been incredible on third down. Yeah, it's a tiny sample size. I know that, but purdy has posted a 97 QBR 55% first down rate in a 90% completion percentage on 21 third down drop packs at a 42 quarterbacks with at least 23rd down pass attempts this season pretty ranks first in all of those categories. That's what the numbers tell us. Let's get to in our lives again here and see what his eyes are telling him about Brock purdy. Yeah, this young man in this offense for Kyle Shanahan handles situations really well and then handles the line of scrimmage so situation Kyle Shanahan loves to take advantage of kind of situational tendencies and to our expectations. Babyface, you just talked about third down. This is third and 5 from the other game. Now pay attention to this. George kittle is going to be lined up in the backfield. That's their tight end. So Brock purdy's got to understand like, okay, tight end in the backfield. What's the formation? How does that affect our protection calls? Well, it's the tight end is in the back build. Where is the tail back then up top Christian McCaffrey? Why are they doing that right? They're flipping those guys essentially to get a matchup. There's a linebacker for the Tampa Bay defense matched up on them. Now again, back to those situations of it being third and 5. So often in these moments, defenses are like, okay, third and 5 young quarterback they're just going to try to get the ball out of his hands and maybe get a short completion. So off the ball, they're going to show what we call double slams indoor Lion to the defense, okay? I'd love that from college Shane and kind of presenting it, understanding that defensive back or that linebackers peeking in as Brock purdy's peaking that way. But Kyle Shanahan loves to throw change ups. Instead of that Lion concept, he's going to go slow go and whip route, the defender breaks on the ball third and 5 touchdown, great job by Brock purdy, handling all that stuff. But this is my favorite play of the game. Handling the line of scrimmage and or the situation of the moment. Everybody at home really pay attention to George kittle and McLeod one and two here, okay? As they get to the line of scrimmage. Look at it as kids starting to communicate like, hey, who's on the ball who's off the ball, right? This is great. Look at kill like right now he's on the ball and he's like, oh man, I gotta get off the ball as he's starting to talk to that official, right? Now this is the reality. That's an illegal formation about these two guys. Neither of those guys is on the ball right now. Okay. This right now for the offense is an illegal formation. We often say this with quarterbacks, right? Like give the play a chance. Look at kiddos like, hey man, I'm the guy the off the ball. Now McLeod is going to be the guy that starts going to motion and kills like, uh oh, we got a problem. We don't have anybody legally on the football. So he's going to go, hey, I got to step onto the ball. Look at Brock purdy right now. He's in complete control of this situation. No, no, no, no, no, guys. We have an issue, right? We are not in a legal formation. And right now we have two guys in motion. Give the play a chance to actually get started. This is great by him completely controlling the situation. Now kittles on the ball, great you're an illegal formation, and now pay attention because mccloud's going to come back going, oh man, you know what, maybe I got to get lined back up and Brock for he's like, no, no, no, no, no. Just get yourself in your formation. He's going to peek back over to the right where kittle is. Right now, okay, we're all in our perfect formation. Now we have a chance for our coach to take advantage of the moments. So often Kyle Shanahan likes to go curl, flat, and shallow cross, and they would read it one, two to three essentially. What Kyle's gonna again take advantage of that situation. Instead of that curl, he's gonna tell how you, you bubble go, here he comes, defensive back, study your feet, curly go touchdown. So brought pretty ability to handle all those moving parts, but then also handle the line of scrimmage as a young player. Give that play a chance to get started. Get those moving pieces and set in place equals a touchdown. How often do we see those young players ruin those moments or not be able to handle them in a touchdown goes into a penalty? Yeah, such a great example. First of all, I'm not sure what's better. The work by Brock purdy, the work by you, but how often are we talking about plays that are actually won before the ball is classic example right there from our guy Dan Orlovsky and Dan and I were here in house, left to right, you know the rest of this crew, of course, Marcus swag goo spears, menace, and keyshawn Johnson. We're trying to get key to send us some of that LA weather here in Chile Bristol, Connecticut. We've got a ton of what else is new. We've got a ton to get to for tonight's matchup. It is a huge one between Seattle and San Francisco and Pete Carroll the Seahawks head coach was asked about facing the impressive rookie quarterback that Dan just broke down. Take a listen. They threw the heck out of the football last week. It was the first time out and then again this week and displaying demonstrating that they trust him. I mean, you can't see it any other way. They trust the guy. And what a remarkable amount of improvement he must have made to put himself in that position was so little and limited playing time. You know, he must be a terrific practice player and all that. He's done it really well. It's a really impressive start. Sure, has been. I feel like we all feel the same way about Brock purdy, the guy just shows up and gets to work right away. Let's talk about him though, key as a wide receiver. How was it different? Playing with Brock purdy in this offense, then it would have been with Jimmy Garoppolo under center. You know, for me, I don't believe just looking at it on his first two games. A Prayer to Look to the Lord As Mighty God
"On a Thursday night I sat with the word unspoken stirring in my heart. I'd had two friends recently share the word with me all in the matter of a week. When the stirring wouldn't subside, thank you Holy Spirit. I decided to look it up in what God's word had to say about this word. Its reference twice, once in the Old Testament, proverbs 27 5, and once in the New Testament, Romans 8 26. In the same way the spirit also joins to help in our weakness because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings, and he who searches the hearts, knows the spirit's mindset because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God, Romans 8 26. Moments into reading the scripture and sitting with the truth of God's word, I felt the words well up in me that I couldn't quite articulate days prior. The Holy Spirit finally brought to the surface all the lies from the enemy that were coming against me. Lies of deceit and confusion, and I knew in that moment the Holy Spirit was rebuking the things going on in my heart that I couldn't see or speak of. Ponder this with me. The Holy Spirit which was gifted to us by our mighty God lives within our hearts and rebukes things within us we can not detect in the flesh. How amazing is this? How mighty of God is this and John 1613 gives us the explanation. When this spirit of truth comes, it will guide you into all truth John 1613. My heart is deeply encouraged and grateful for this gift. We will all find ourselves in a season of spiritual battles being waged against us. It may be sensing something is off, something is unsettling in your spirit or the things you're thinking are clearly not from God. When you sense these things, tune into the Holy Spirit. Pray the truth of Romans 8 26 and trust that the Holy Spirit is inner seeding when we can't see what's taking place inside our hearts, and in the spiritual realm. As we find ourselves in the season of celebrating Jesus birth in all he is to us, I pray that your heart would be softened to see the great, intricate works of our mighty God, and may you find yourself in awe and wonder at his works. Let's pray. Father, thank you for sending your son Jesus to dwell among us. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit that we get because of what your son did on the cross. Coast Guard rescues man overboard on Carnival cruise
"A cruise ship passenger who was missing for hours is found alive in the Gulf of Mexico. The coast guard says the 28 year old man was last seen Wednesday night and was rescued on Thanksgiving night. Carnival cruise line says the man was with his sister at a bar on the carnival valor at 11 p.m. Wednesday. He went to use the bathroom and never returned. His sister reported a missing the next day. A cargo ship saw a person in the water about 20 miles south of Southwest pass Louisiana and the mouth of the Mississippi River after the man was hoisted into a helicopter at about 8 30 Thursday night. He confirmed he was the missing cruise ship passenger. He was taken for medical care. The coast guard calls the rescue, a miracle. I'm

Thursday Night Football the Atlanta Falcons hosting the New England Patriots 7 6 and a half maybe if you're lucky, you can find patriots favored in Atlanta tonight, a total of 47. We'll get to our props in just a second. But side and total anyway you're looking at this matchup? Yeah, so full disclosure coming into this podcast. I had the Patriots -6 and a half. I like the under 47. And then I had a very lengthy phone call with Michael rothstein who covers the Atlanta Falcons this morning. We spoke for over 30 minutes. And he walked me off of that, you know, there's a lot of reasons why I like the Patriots coming in, right? I think a lot of people are underestimating them. Their hands down, the better team. They won their last four, three of them blowouts. They have arguably the best offensive line. Mac Jones is showing everybody why he should have been the first quarterback drafted. Like I said at the beginning of the draft cycle, he's pushing the ball down the field, using a lot of play action, the Patriots defense is really come around. They've got 14 turnovers on the season. They're only allowing 4.8 yards per play, which is the least in the NFL, the last three weeks. I mean, I could go on and on. They play the third most dime package, which really plays well into contesting and contending against what Atlanta likes to do well with Patterson as well as pits. And oh, by the way, Atlanta is horrible at home. The only average 282 total yards at home. They're just bad. It's cold. It's not hotlanta, when the falcons play at home. So for all those reasons. But a few things Michael shared with me. And he said, this team is desperate. They know that this is what it comes down to. They lose this game, their seasons over. And so, you know, I'm worried about that backdoor cover. We've seen it time and time again. This year, the season in the NFL. So a few ways I'm playing this. I'm going to use the Patriots as a two team 6 point teaser, which I've loved to do so far. The season, so I'll tease them down to a half a point. I'm going to align them with the Tennessee Titans minus four against the Texans. I'm also going to align them with the bills minus one at home against the colts this week. So those are the two teams along with the Patriots that I'm going to align that two team 6 point teaser with. Also, there's some game prop bets that I like your Tyler, team with the most punts. Hands down, it's going to be Atlanta. And you can get that at minus one 40. And here's another interesting total fourth down conversions over one and a half. And you can get that at plus money plus one 15, a few things. Both these coaches and their offensive coordinators, right? There are aggressive. They'll take risks, so I can totally see the Patriots going forward on fort down and converting and I can totally see Arthur Smith doing that in the second half if they're behind. So I think that's a really an interesting and a smart play, especially at plus money. So that's how I'm playing the game tonight. Okay, interesting game props in there with fourth downs and punts, not surprising, though, that you're digging that deep into the card, Anita. I'll take a stab at the total first and foremost. I like the under as well. Patriots defense second in the National Football League and opponent points per game. We know that they seemingly are getting better and better each and every week on our Bill Belichick. The Atlanta offense. It just doesn't have as many ways to beat you now that Calvin Ridley is out dealing with mental health issues. Kyle Pitts is obviously a great young athletic tight end. But what does Bill Belichick do the best? He takes away whatever your most dangerous weapon is. So we'll get to props in a second. But I think Matt Ryan is going to have a tough time using guys like gage and zakia to beat a New England team or put a lot of points on the board, so to speak. So 47, the only way I think this gets over is the way that the Patriots game last week got over is because they scored 40 something points themselves against the browns. I think they'll regress a little bit on the road, offensively. I think there's going to be a game that features minimal play volume, fewer snaps because of the Patriots propensity pardon me to run the football and the fact that Atlanta just won't have much going on offense. So I'm going to play under 47. I really think the falcons are going to do their part for the concern is just the Patriots. So hopefully Atlanta gets a few stops on defense. As far as the side is concerned, there's an interesting nugget that we're going to talk about on today's daily wagers show. ESPN news, I believe is what we're on today at 6 p.m. eastern three p.m. Pacific. This season, when two teams match up if the matchup features a team that failed to cover the week before versus a team that did cover the week prior betting on the team that failed to cover in this match up the week prior ATS is 44 and 23. Our peak that again, 44 and 23. So in this matchup, we have a falcon team that failed to cover last week versus a patriots team that absolutely did cover last week. And this season and this particular instance and matchup, the falcon side or the team that failed to cover last week is 44 and 23. So I know Joe's on the falcons. Plus 7, I would like to get it back up to plus 7, but if you buy that trend for whatever reason, the falcons is the right side based on what we've seen this year. So that's an interesting nugget we're going to talk about it further on daily wager today. But that's why if I do play aside, it will be the falcon side plus 6 and a half loved it more yesterday when I was at plus 7. But definitely going under considering 7 of the last 8 Thursday night games have gone under the total. All right, real quickly, any props that you want to dive into. I'll get mine out of the way because there's really only one guy looking at and I kind of discussed it a little bit earlier. I wonder if you're on the same thing with me. Bill Belichick, taking away Kyle Pitts. That's the one kind of angle I'm going to look at in this game. Kyle Pitts is receiving prop is 61 and a half. His reception prop is four and a half. I think a one 35 juice to the under of his receiving yardage total of 61 and a half, I'm going to play that under. And I think it's actually plus money plus one 15 on under four and a half receptions. I'm gonna play that under. It's gonna play both and hope that Belichick does what I think he's done with a pattern in his career is identify your most dangerous offensive weapon and take that away. So that's how I'm looking at playing props in this matchup. What do you got to meet us? Yeah, how much time do we have? You know many Tyler, you know? All right, so let's start with my patriots props. Mac Jones over one and a half touchdown passes. Now, you know me, I love Mac. I'm gonna be wearing my Mac Jones, T-shirt tonight on the show. As you said, ESPN2, 6 o'clock, Eastern Time, tune in. But here's an interesting trend for you as well. Over the last ten seasons, 36 rookies have started on Thursday night and only 9 have thrown for at least 250 yards in only ten have attempted at least 35 passes. So prior to me seeing that stat and really doing a deep dive into game scripts and how I think this is going to play out. I was over attempts over completions over yards. So and now with Damien Harris back in action and healthy and ready to go, he's not even listed his questionable. He's off the injury report. I just think game script, I think, you know, this is one of the most even keeled teams in the NFL. I think he's going to rush the ball a lot. So, but I do like the Mac Jones over one and a half touchdown passes, and you get that at minus one 30. As I said, Harris back in action, over 52 and a half rushing yards. I don't quite understand why this is so, so so little. Maybe because Stevenson had such a great week last week without Harris there, but it's evident that he's the lead back anytime touchdown for him at minus one O 8 anytime touchdown and the Patriots win with him. Is it plus one 40? You know, this is an Atlanta Falcons team. They're one of the worst teams against the rush. So then on top of that, you've got Kendrick Bourne, who, and I know, you know, you just joined the show, the season, but last.
