"They're flexible, they're willing to try new things in terms of how they operate as a team that goes back to things. Bill Belichick did as offensive coordinator for the giants thing about him shutting down the ninety Buffalo Bills and the Super Bowl. Just absolute forcing them to run the ball with Thurman Thomas. He wanted Thurman Thomas they have a big game that day 'cause than it meant that the the k gun wasn't going off so to speak. So I mean, they're just they're smart. And he just think you're how you know thirty two teams in the league and thirty one other teams even though you have millions upon millions of dollars. Go into these organizations aren't able to figure it out at this level. That is so frustrating. And I mean, it's been that way. For like, I said almost twenty years. Yeah. And it's not like, and I'm not trying to downplay what they've done, but it's not like they are revolutionizing everything to the point that we don't recognize it. They are doing things that people cannot keep up with light during the Super Bowl. When all of a sudden, you had six or seven guys standing up there at the box, and they all knew where they were going and they knew that because of the Rams offense. And how it was set up that they had a young quarterback who was turning his back on the defense for the play action and the second he would turn his back. They would change the defense after the snap. They were changing what they were doing just enough that he would turn back around. And suddenly, it's not what he thought he was going to be seen. And so it simple things that make a lot of sense that they do so much. Than everybody else that an I know that you're gonna have a ton of people that are gonna mmediately go you have everybody that's ever left Bella chick doesn't. They don't have that same success. They have learned from him. But they don't bring it with them. They don't find that same success, and I get it. But at some point somebody's going to be able to come out of there and emulate if not perfectly copy what they do. And this is the next guy to take that shot. And odds have to be better that he will do it than everybody before him giving somebody somewhere is going to finally be able to do it. And it's a great point. I mean, it's it's a mindset it's not a scheme per se. It's not like they've just dominant three four defense out there. I mean, they're they're willing to do the little things. They're never. I mean, it's funny because there's such an egotistical team. But they're they're never above. Doing the little things that will make a difference in a game which makes knows on strike. But I mean, they're they're willing. I mean, they. Cross all the t's and dot all the is everything. There are no loose ends. When that team is playing. Well, and I mean, they they have reinvented themselves. I'm not trying to turn this into patriots love fest, by the way, we're trying we're trying to get the coach, by the way just be so many people just turn this off. I'm sure but so hey, they're their quarterback is not willing to receive. He's not willing to catch man. I wish I mean if this were family program, I I love that quote. My husband. Cannot throw and catch the ball seven saying because he can't catch on the Super Bowl last year. I mean think about you know, the end this most recent run, I think or this Super Bowl they won was most reminiscent of the teams we saw that one three of four, you know. Yeah. All you know, is almost starting in two thousand one season in that played really strong defense toward the end. Very sound very smart and the offense at times doing just enough. And that's when I think about those those first three Super Bowls, they want because you think about like when the, you know, the, you know, the eighteen and one patriots went to the Super Bowl. I mean that team was an offense of juggernaut. But I always say that that's not necessarily the team you want..

"Sunday and got some more guests still to come. Already had Adam Viteri work done. Aaron Jones John Hannah coming up in about fifteen minutes. Pro football hall of Famer Thurman Thomas will join us at four forty future hall of Famer Reggie, Wayne, which you know, it's tough to say future hall of Famer with any of these wide receivers nowadays. Because even the obvious ones have to wait like Isaac. Bruce to me is an obvious hall of Famer and he didn't make the hall of fame yesterday. And I think that was his third year of eligibility. So absolutely crazy. But Reggie Wayne Hall of Famer, and we'll be all Famer one day. So in this hour, you have Thomas Reggie, Wayne. And then in the five AM eastern time hour at five twenty m eastern one twenty AM Pacific Hines ward. And then to wrap up the show in the final segment. We'll talk to all pro tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelsey. So as we sit around a Super Bowl Sunday, you have many stories that come out. And Super Bowl week. I'll get to the home field advantage stuff and the potential home field advantage stuff in just a second. But you got a lot of stories that do circulate during Super Bowl week with the other thirty teams. Let me just catch you up to date with two stories inside the NFC east. So about two three weeks ago, the feeling out of Dallas from all the reports was that Jerry Jones was going to extend Jason Garrett as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Now, I said before and give Garrick credit. The team was three and five this year at one point. They look as dead is dead could be and he found a way to turn it around and get them into the post season. And when a playoff game before they lost the division around to the LA Rams who as we know ended up going to the Super Bowl and they'll put in the Super Bowl later today against the New England Patriots. But the feel three weeks ago. Was that Jason Garrett was going to get an extension as he's in his final year of his contract. Well during the Super Bowl week, according to Todd Archer of ESPN the Cowboys owner isn't expected to extend the contract of his head coach and this will set Jason Garrett up for the lame duck season. So that's the latest with Jason Garrett from all the reports. And if that is true. And they elect to not extended. I think it's the right move. We have to see what Jason GARRETT'S going to do next year because as special stories the Cowboys were this past season. And how they turned it around this. I still don't believe Jason Garrett is this great coach. I don't. I I don't think he is the difference maker for me. And if you look at his career in Dallas he's had some success in terms of getting to the playoffs. He's had some good teams. But even those really good teams they came up short. So are not ready. If I if I was a Cowboys fan, which if you listen to the show, you know, not I would not be so quick just because of this past season to jump right in and. Give this guy a big time extension. He's seventy seven and fifty nine is career in Dallas two and three in the postseason again. And he's at twelve and four seasons thirteen and three ten and six was dining seven when they were without Zeke. For six games in two thousand seventeen. But if he gets back to the playoffs next year, then you give him extension. I don't think he's ever going to Super Bowl though, with the Cowboys don't and there's been patients with them, and he has been awful. I just don't think he's been great. It's been this six thousand and ten years to playoff wins. And he's got the playoffs. Three times. Teams have good twelve and four thirteen and three. Lost the Packers division around the two thousand fourteen. Was the Packers again division around coming off a bye in two thousand and sixteen in this year. Like, we said. Beat Seattle before just the defense. Get an exposed against the against the Rams of the run game that was very dominant that night by C, J Anderson. So yeah, I think that's the right move. If the Cowboys elect not to extend chasing Garrett, and you go into the year with the lame duck coach and the other story in the NFC. The eagles are expected to exercise Nick foles is option. But it's not as easy as you think they can pick it up then he could buy his free agency. If he gets back two million two and a half billion of that signing bonus. And that would make him a free agent or. Even if they do pick it up. And he tries to buys rage, Jake. It's still franchise tag him. So there's some interesting scenarios here at play with with Nick foles when you look at it though. And you'll probably get a competitive you get a compensatory pick probably third round pick. If he just walks in free agency, if you're going to trade and last year was the time to trade in this year. If you look at it dolphins could be employed for quarterback bills. This drafted Allen jets have darnold chargers have rivers Broncos to love keenum, raiders have car. Like who's the team? You're gonna make a trade with Jacksonville. I know that's one that comes to mind titans colts and Texans. They are committed to a quarterback Bengals maybe that could work. Browns-steelers ravensdale have a quarterback plan in place. Maybe the Redskins are the giant show some interest. But eagles eagles aren't going to trade. Nick foles threats McNabb, but unless the deals ridiculous. You're not going to really strike deal there. And I think the giants should keep you live for another year. Other than that. There's not a whole lot of teens that. Are going to be in need of a quarterback. And not only if they're in need of quarterback. They could also go to the draft. Now the draft is not that strong. And there are some teams that need quarterbacks. But. If you're looking for the quick fix in terms of quick fixes. Yeah. And that there's not that many when you look long term there. There's some teams that needs to start thinking about drafting a quarterback, but for the for the quick fix which would be like two three years for Nick, foles, probably. If you're training from that's what you're expecting and maybe a little bit longer 'cause he's in his early thirties. But when you look for the teams that can mean a trade market for the quarterback. Come to mind. And yet to see what the giants do with with manning. But the giants the Redskins the Jaguars. Potentially the Bengals. And maybe the dolphins. So you could create a little bit of a market. But what happens if he can't find the trade partner, and you have this guy on the franchise tag? Then. Commit all that money on his rookie deal. But you gotta keep some of the guys guys that be free agents one of them being Brandon grammar you're going to need to try to keep. So now, I suggested that the eagles bay franchise tag a few months ago, Nick foles, but they could so possibly do that. But I still have a feeling even if they do this option and exercise it I still have a feeling and maybe they left the franchise tag on him. It's not crazy. But it's a risk. Maybe he gets on the back, and then ultimately just give them away for something cheap. But he could possibly just walk in free agency. If he returns that two million two and a half million, whatever the number is. So those are the two NFC storylines before we get the Thurman Thomas. So I was listening to John Kincaid and the ride home last week and after my show, and I kept getting paid say when he was looking at the ticket market, you know, being Atlanta. When he looked at it. It looked like it was a a bigger Rams ticket compared to patriot fans ticket. And that's what he said last Sunday when I was in Atlanta, though. I barely saw any Rams fans and the patriots at thirty five thousand fans at their send-off route think about that for a team that they're playing in their ninth Super Bowl since two thousand and more people say oh getting old and all that now for the fans of that team thirty five thousand first send-off rally, and when I was in Atlanta this past week it was patriot jersey after patriot jersey now a Super Bowl crowd is always weird because you only have a certain amount of fans from each team. Then you have random fans and the rain the fans are going to be rooting most likely against the patriots. But it seems like there's going to be a lot of patriot fans in that building. So there was a Rams up pool report from Friday Friday practice, am in the report said that that's when the Rams started pumping in artificial sound and McVeigh was explaining that if they're on the road, and they're planning a road it will be blaring on offense periods. If got home. Will be the sound will be pumped in for defensive periods. But because of the fact that they're in a neutral site. Mcveigh said it was just kind of in the background and McVeigh then talked about how there will be a hopefully, they'll be more Rams fans than patriot fans. But you never know. I don't think that the way you prepare for the sound in this game is is going to be big. But it could get very noisy. When the Rams are offensive. There's that many patriot fans, but let's remember the Ran's play two weeks ago. They played in New Orleans. I very much doubt that and it's not going to be that the Super Bowl crowd is louder than where it was two weeks ago. So I was read a story about some profootballtalk. How it could possibly be a mistake that they waited until Friday to use artificial noise. Yeah. I'm just not buying into that one. And I know Goff looked a little bit lost to that first quarter. But then in the second quarter New Orleans he really settled in did a nice job got him back in the game in the second half. You know, what happened to set up Super Bowl fifty three? Okay. We'll take a timeout. When we come back. We talked.

Hi, I'm Joan Lunden.

"Choose dignity health. Hello, human kindness. Now. Here's the forty Niners color commentator. Tolbert and Lund on. Five. Joe kill you. Yeah. One of fiber twenty four. Five or die. I got the Seahawks with the one zero five start coming off the win over Denver twenty four team. Maybe the most complete defensive effort of year, and Tim Ryan here on the gas line to talk about it. How are you man? Doing well. And and let's not forget one zero five and skins waterproof. It's going to be raining. That's right. It's good sounds like it's going to. But we'll see we'll see how you guys doing everything. Good good getting ready for the holidays. You. I am miam- did a little shopping. I'm watch just got football Thurman Thomas. Those things not hold on there that they do a good job with those. They really do. Yeah. You forget about some of the things those guys went through. And you don't. I was but going back this whole college career. Andrea was a bad, dude. They they went. They went Thurman Thomas. Barry Sanders at Oklahoma state. I know. Done and Thurman came back. And I remember what came back with a most Dominique played with it. That's why the drop off. We know what Barry was. Yes. Whoa. Reek played against very didn't. You. I played against berry probably nine or ten times. Maybe Bob betcha. Determine three or four. Every year that had this sucker going in Sanders. Right. Because if he didn't stain your lanes, you're even if you did he just you didn't know where was going to go like playing against Russell Wilson. But harder every down in the running shoes. No way, they ran it. So you we you always had to prepare against him a little bit different a lot different never penetrate pass without the where he lined up. Right. Whether he was offset or. So you never wanted to go too deep or you're just ran yourself out of the play. You just got blocked by grass. And then there was always a debate on you, wait and kind of you. Remember, the old watch the bell? Buckle thing when you were a kid done work with Barrett. So do you sit and wait and try to watch his belt buckle and wait for help. Or do you take a shot? And most of the time taking a shot wasn't. But I think I think we all figured out if you just better take a shot or it's gonna get real bad and never seen. Anybody like him that would gain one hundred and twenty yards on ten carries and six of them would be for loss. Like he'd lose. One lose to lose one gain three lose one and then hit one for like seventy and there's your one one hundred yards or whatever was exactly. If there wasn't a TESOL like if he passed the line of scrimmage, he didn't get tackled blah scrimmages usually run out of bounce. Yeah. I think he and then someone in running him out of bounds. I looked in care. Remember the exact numbers, but I was looking at career leaders for like yards per carry. And Jim Brown was up there. But Barry was like five or five and a half. Or maybe it's five which is like it isn't a ridiculous number five yards per carry. And that just goes to show you that this. I mean, he I mean damn blue blue rod Woodson's ACL both of them move. That's it shows you how good that guy is. He was phenomenal. I've told you guys the story. I mean, I we were seeing all my son back there were some broadcasts work, and he meets up another body in the hall of fame any runs out. And he finds you in the very back, and he says, I didn't know you were in the hall of fame. I said I'm not in all the swear to God. He takes me to the Barry Sanders. Kiosks like a forty yard touchdown. I'm just dripping off of a motel. Oh, yeah. Thanks. Oh, yeah. It was. Good news yards per carry. Jim brown. Like you said five point two gale sayers at five Barry Sanders at five Napoleon Kaufman. Four nine. Wow. Wow. That is big time. That's big thing. He was dying. I mean, I was I need the biceps from Al the before we get to the Seattle game. I wanted to ask you about the defensive effort because I just thought that that may have been the most complete defensive effort of the year. And I thought for sure in my mind, it was the best tackling effort of the year. Like when guys got there. They wrapped up. They didn't. Maybe they weren't any. Whoo heads, but they got him down to the ground. Whether it was Lindsay run the ball or throwing the ball. I just I decided it was a total team effort defensively. It was well, it was simple and fast. And that's what you want when you had so many young guys and guys playing new positions. Iran. Tom played a lot of free. Free safety up until last week. Now a tarts injury and tar being out. It'll be back there. But DJ read out there fulltime, Nicole. And and there was a lot of three wide receiver sets us. You'll see what Seattle it'll be a lot of those two. So we'll see DJ man coverage, man. D line played much better in terms of just getting off blocks disengaging off guys. And then the man coverage, I thought was impressive and solid. Good job with some of the process through and that'll be a t- against Seattle. You go back to the game two weeks ago. And. I mean, I would say that's certainly one of the worst defensive efforts to follow it up with the best defensive effort. I'm curious to see what what we see in. You know, what the weather could end up being a positive factor. I think for the forty Niners. You remember last year? I think it was raining. The seattle. Opportunities to win that one. Bobby Wagner from making a huge play. I mean, the guy was everywhere in the in the game two weeks ago. And you guys remember that play. And for the fans that are listening that playmate entering Taylor last year. Yeah. In the rain when he picked it off when Trent was like an inch off the ground on a reception. And he rolled right over the top of them and ripped it out at about the five yard line. And ended up scoring probably later you've got to keep that do for making a big play. He's phenomenal. How impressive is it that those those safeties and then at DJ in there the way that he played as you said in the in the slot that it's what the ninth different safety combination. They had in the way that they played in. It's not the just the amount of tackles that they had. But it was when they had him third and short, fourth insured. They just they did it. Yeah. Well deal Marcel harass, you know, one thing about that. Do you watch them Florida? He'll fire is gone. And if he sees it he's gonna go get it. And they call it triggering in this defense trigger and go go fill. The all listen, he knows his need help diagnose it back. Seattle game though is really close game out there in terms. And the full four game accidents or even his legs went under him the whole way in terms of his tackling so much better and one of the drives. I mean, I think he made the second nonstop. On the third down stop bounce over that and kind of getting blocked and interfered with was able to get down. So he played really well. And again, I think I'll just finish started. You keep it simple for these guys who when they can play fast and axiom is extremely skilled. He doesn't really better or or legit position. You put that guy on the measuring stick man, he's gonna John they'll do everything. I mean, he's a phenomenal talent physically. So let him play fast. He'll get better Kello. No doubt is playing better. What I like about DJ manatees like they want. And I think that's maybe we'll see some of it against against Russell Wilson. I mean, I think you're going to pressure him. And I know he's good against pressure. When you look at all the numbers been prices, which is quite a bit. I think people try to send an extra guy to kinda close those escape lane. So he lets them to keep them in the pocket rather than get him out. But you need to send fast guys that can actually get and get them out. So we'll see a DJ or whoever it is role. But those I think those are the kind of guys are going to send pressure send the past guts. Do you think defenders play against the Niners are still surprised by Kittles athleticism? I do. Yeah. Amazing. Picky him to sleep while I'm telling you if you watch the Denver game, go back and watch if we'd have a, and I would just love to hear what they were saying, but you could see him out there like the first. Tilles smoked up thirty one yard corner. Route like the first five or six plays of the game. Got bennett. He was targeted another one. But I mean, you could tell they were Chirpin it and no away. I'd love to know what they were saying, I know it wasn't friendly from you know, some of the things that I have heard, but he they don't get it. They don't get I call him eighty five flashback because he's gonna flash right across your face. And if you're not headed in the right direction. There's no way you're turning to catch up there. No way. Five flash. No, fear. They're like, oh, dude. White guy from Iowa can't gone there. Go. Oh boy. You saw that eighty five yard house called man. It was like the linebacker just he's like, no way. And then the safety Darian Stewart who ended up getting kind of spun around on that play in the coverage was like, no way. And then Simmons wasn't closing the gap on him. So he's so much faster than people think is funny that the other one that he had the other big one that he got just before he got the touchdown. Not only the run away from somebody. Then he ran over somebody that was like the entire kit will package right there because he's fast enough to run away from you. But if you get his way he's going to try to make roadkill Attia. Well, there's no doubt that that was the fifty two yard salute turnaround, which is a great play by Malla. There was a real clever out the way they drew it up. You don't him freed up. But then the way that you know, because it a it was at new cursory came back and George reached up over his head and behind himself never broke stride, which is a great athleticism. You know ran away from the Stuart them kind of had that is in the back of his head. Cut off a ham where he fell and in the corner J give a shoulder no chance. And then he Finally I mean he's one step away from another touchdown where he could have really got the five yards. Was that big corner out the first one, I think it was a thirty one yard, and I know early in game, especially guys like Georgia trying to set the tempo back. And if he didn't he didn't smell the end zone because it almost looked like he turned it like ran into the safety deliver some early in the game right here, you go, bro. He would have cut outside. He would have easily at five or now. Yeah. Record all that. But I think as mentality. Deliver some damage. It. There's a lot of keys to the game. But Seattle wants to run they wanna be physical. They're back to being the top rushing team. Chris Carson runs very physically you run a hell of a lot more than anybody else. Do they do? But obviously, it's Denver. It was. Hey, Philip Lindsay is not going to beat us. And we don't think case keenum can throw to beat us. And that ended up being the case Wilson's a different kind of a story. So how do you defend these guys? Yeah. You want to stop the run? But we're Russell Wilson. Threw the ball seventeen times last time but four touchdowns right now. Well, the the receiver core is a little different. I mean, you know that Denver shorthanded when the madness Andrews went down..

"The horrible team in the Buffalo Bills. And you could score a touchdown fourth quarter. I'm inside concerned. Yeah. I look the bills defense doesn't stink. But it's not exactly the end all be all greatest defense in the NFL. I would be concerned property just a bills fan and aggregate. As you find a way to win you'll get better from a hill. From it. Bills defense has played tough. It was a road game Monday night football back in buffalo honoring Thurman Thomas at halftime. It wasn't a crisp clean the patriot game. But they won the game. Nonetheless, I've seen teams laying egg. That were I mean, we saw the Buffalo Bills. Go on the road in Minnesota beat the Vikings that Viking team Ludek beat him up when the patriots don't play well they win. And that's at the end of it. That's really all. That matters. How high is there on pace right now. The patriots are with the victory over the Kansas City Chiefs dab homefield advantage once again the playoffs. Well, if you are a fan of field goals he would have loved the scape fan of kickers. This was your game and say this to I was happily surprised shocked that the bills were able to score sixteen first towns in this game. Because if you watched the first quarter it was like they had no quarterback. They they run everything out of the wildcat, which if you've got to do everything that way and ski. Team. Leshan McCoy run the ball with one hand on the ball. Which really pisses me off. And I used to be a big shady phantom rapidly..

"There was one time where it was Brian Speer interviewed Thurman Thomas for show used to do for the fan and wanted to do the interview with his shirt off. We're going to put the live and held it for the whole interview. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Are they go? Rhino rally. Wonderful interview kind tell you something about myself and rhino Riley, one of the first dates I went on with my then girlfriend now wife involve taking a look at me. Where's this going? So when we first met and we've been on a couple dates mainly to go, see David Dini's band sort of all over Toronto because we're big fans of Dave and Rio statics, but the first hockey date we went on we went to see the Erie otters with Ryan rally take on the Gulf storm. And she's like, I think it was maybe the first junior hockey game. She'd gone to say, why do you wanna go see the Erie otters, I said, I really like Ryan O'Reilly. And so they've been a couple of junior hockey players that are really really enjoyed cordy Hodgson's and other one but rhino rally was my guy. And so now kind of in the back of my mind, whenever I think of rhino Riley. I think my first hockey date with my wife, did you when you were on the tour with him in the studio. Did you tell them that did not? So you've never. Told them this never told them that. Well, first of all second. I took her see Erie versus Guel stayed with you. And she next as your phone call. You were like this is a keeper. And I'm never letting her go hundred percent. And but the thing that that may have been the most exciting about that night was loop Gaz Fultz somewhat end just lit him up. And I can't remember who the player was on golfer. I think that's all we talked about on the car ride home. Disbelief listening to his story left talking about Luke Gazza. Romance Elliott Friedman, come for a Riley state forget it's a beautiful night with Jeff American downtown. Bad romance. It's pretty bad thoughts a rally. Well, I liked it. And, you know, first of all I just want to say look giving a bit of an appreciation of the blues communication staff, which did this, and they asked if as part of the interview, they could common film a little bit of it. I thought they were really professional and was fun to have them around. So I really. Give us a lot of time. So sometimes we forget some of these people in this league are really happy to promote their players, and the blues came through big in this particular one, you know, was from to me normally 'cause we're starting to get like twenty minutes twenty five minutes in with Ryan. I look over the blues guys normally situation like that, you know, people from media relations hell giving you that the tap on the watch. Let's move it along. Nope. No problem. Nothing. Keep going take as long as you need. And we're here to promoter player that was Dan O'Neill was there with the blues. He was great. You know, I ask the thing about a rally like is he's blind. You know in Colorado. They didn't always like the fact that he was an independent thinker. I mean, there were a lot of things they went sideways there. And I think in a team sport that's one of the things we're kind of getting us to now in hockey is that not everybody thinks the same way..

"We were talking about the greatness of Barry Sanders, and it's still one of my favorite quotes. Berry. Switzer was the head coach at Oklahoma. And he reportedly allegedly told his defense, whatever you do do not hurt Thurman Thomas Thurman Thomas was the all American running back at Oklahoma state because if you heard Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, then comes in and Barry Switzer wanted. No part of Barry Sanders. Berry Sanders, actually underrated. He could ended up with twenty thousand yards. I I don't know if you remember his college career, but at Oklahoma state, he was I think he had five touchdowns in in a game three times in his last year. He rushed for two thousand yards. He was just he was phenomenal. And then going into the pros going to the lions didn't go to a good team suspect offense. But berry still I thought would have ended up. I think if it was important to him he would have stayed. But he was he he just fell out of love with football. And he would be the all-time leading rusher. And I think Emmitt Smith knows that. But berry berry is wired differently than almost any other athlete. I've ever been around never wanted. Attention never wanted publicity. It's weird that and I said to you because of your style the way you run you're going to get more attention, you draw more attention because of the way you run very few of ever run in will ever run. Like, Barry Sanders, but he is one of the more humble people I've ever met in my life. And I got to know him his last year at Oklahoma state. I went to his press conference when he announced he was going to go pro his car broke down while he was headed to the press conference. He shows up. He just got a flannel shirt on. He's look like he stepped right out of class or something. And when he went to Detroit, I went to do a Sunday conversation when I was at the mothership, and I go into his house. He's got a couch in a TV. He's got nothing else. He goes, what do you? What do you think of what I've done with the place? I said what did you do to the place? He said why I got a great TV and a great couch. I can his mind. What more do I need? And this will give you an idea of berries personality. And how frugal and humble he is berry goes he calls me. I'm thinking about buying a new car now, he's a millionaire. He says I'm thinking about buying a new car. I said, well, you know, what it would tell me. He goes thinking Honda Accord. Four door, and I go now I'm waiting for him. That is this the punch line. And then I said, well, and I realize he's serious. I said well you can afford it goes. Yeah. You'd think so I said, yeah. Yeah. I buy it. I buy it outright. I'm you. And he goes, you wouldn't finance and I go, no wouldn't finance it. I bide outright. It goes. All right. He was so proud of that Honda Accord. But that's just sorta summed up his personality. And even when I was there. We were his rookie year. He said, I don't put the camera on me when I'm around the other players because I'm a rookie. And I haven't done anything. He was really concerned about how he was viewed by his his teammates there. And then we did the conversation. He was a tough conversation because he he was goofy. Didn't always answer the questions. He deflected a lot. But his dad would always tell him, you know, Jim Brown. Always telling now. You know, berry said no matter what I did. My dad would say, you're know Jim Brown fascinating personality, though. But underrated underrated. Yes, mclovin. Like in a meanwhile, AOL encouraging way, I don't quite understand his dad was very direct. You know, his dad, I think was just honest with him and said, you're not Jim Brown. But I I don't know if it was to motivate him. But his dad was tough on him. But berry would say no matter what I do. My dad is going to say, I'm not Jim Brown. He's right. Completely different. All righty. Kevin millar. Nice little sleep over there. We got a place to stay. If we go to Austin. We can crash house. Yeah. I looked up big Papi's house outside of Boston. He's got room. Yeah. He's not. They're not bunking up. You made a couple of bucks. Big, bobby? I was watching. Fox's pregame coverage. Like, they they let big Papi route openly for the Red Sox, which is surprising. Because normally when you get into those roles, even though we know that he is a red sock for life. I'm surprised that they allow him to wear a red sock. Batting helmet, and he's openly rooting for the Red Sox there. But he's a popular guy. They've turned the show over to big Papi because it used to be a rod yet. Frank Thomas and Pete Rose. Now, you just bring in big Papi, and they sort of just let him go. And. It's a different approach there. Because you have somebody who is. Fawning all over the Red Sox here, not exactly giving you an honest opinion about everybody else. But he loves the Red Sox there. Got our poll question there. Curtis in Tampa joins us. Hey curtis. What do you have for me? Hey, dan. How's it going? Wonderful. I got a question for you regarding the NFL trade deadline now, we know that Dallas acquired Amari Cooper. But we didn't find out 'til later. Tim mcmanus? I believe reported at eagles have actually offered a second round pick before Dallas countered with the first round pick for him. Because it looked like he might try to pursue OB J before the trade deadline or do you see the looking for maybe some defense to try to counteract some of the problems that they're having. Well, you're not getting Odell Beckham. No. But thank you Curtis. I think everybody was looking at not everybody's I told you yesterday probably about this time. I said this is a deal that's going on the negotiations are going on right now as we speak between the Cowboys and the raiders for Amari Cooper. And I think that there are other teams that realize that in thought, hey, what's it gonna take to get Amari Cooper? Because some of these teams probably thought, you know, if we can give a second or third round pick. You know, we'd take Amari Cooper. You're also taking his. Salary. It's not that. You're just taking Amari Cooper. It's at that salary of what thirteen fourteen million dollars. Yeah. Mclovin by way. Speaking is an eagles fan. We would take Odell Beckham if the giants. She might approve that Trey. Yeah. And saquon Barkley to along. That would help while you're at it. Yes. We saw just make up the traits. We want to see just for like what would top like Odell Beckham were traded to the Cowboys for Zack Martin that solve both problems. They don't they wanna get rid of a wide receiver. They wanna move on from Odell Beckham. And you get the best maybe the best option to live within the support. I don't think you could do that trade today because they just got a wide receiver. But yeah, I think I would need a little bit more. If I were you could get a little bit more from Dallas big Jerry's going to give you more. I mean, I'm going to get a great offensive lineman. But I think I might need a little bit more. Yeah. Mclovin. Us from like ticket sales standpoint. Obviously, hey, come out and see our offensive lineman. Also, the giants are not one offensive lineman. They're five. Feels like that. Feels like that. Let me see Brian in Texas. Hi, brian. Hey, I got a guest for that. Poster. You're gonna put on the wall there. Okay. Yeah. Is it? Jim Palmer in Haines underwear. Photo shoot. It's a good guess, but the answer is no Brian. Thank you. We we have a new wall of morale with sports posters that we had under construction had to order these posters and a lot of them are from twenty thirty years ago. And so we're I found a website that had them and then we mad at him. And then we're going to put them up. We got another one we're going to put up paulie heard from Jim McMahon yesterday.
