Vaccine Hesitancy is Solvable

"Dr montgomery rice so happy to be able to talk to you about this today. You know. I think a lot of us have been watching a catastrophe within the catastrophe or one of them which is that covid. Nineteen has disproportionately in acted people of color. And i think even more disproportionately killed people of color. You know one would hope in that situation. That african americans would be at the front of the line to get their vaccines and i wonder if you can talk a minute about where we are. And why african americans are in some cases more reluctant than others to get the vaccine. We know that this virus has disproportionate impact of people of color. Not just african americans but latte necks and questions were raised early on with their something unique about race or ethnicity that put people at greater risk what we really recognize when you look at the science that this virus did not discriminate that if you were in proximity with someone who was infected you had a higher chance of being infected nat next and african american word the people who were the essential workers because they are the people who check people into emergency room. They are the orderly. they're the ones in food service. The other ones in transport driving your buses. Who were picking up your trach. Who will work in restaurants etc. So you know that they were at increased risk of being infected so with not that this virus was discriminatory per se against people because of their race. Ethnicity is the social determinants. They have led to this now. Having said all of that we know that we see a disproportionate number of health disparities because of the social constructs that are not allowed for greater access to care and then access to the greatest level of quality of care. And so we have made a alan effort in the scientist community to make sure that black scientists have been at the table of the backseat discovery and development the valuation of the data in the clinical trials and then the decisions at the fda cdc of the allocation and and of course people saw you getting your first dose of the vaccine on on cnn and one of the other. I recipients of the pfizer vaccine was an african american nurse in long island So they're clearly been efforts. Would you've been in. The center of to have prominent trusted african american voices publicly getting vaccinated if someone sees you getting vaccinated on cnn. Sure that builds trust the institution you represent all the things you're talking about but at the same time what my friends are saying or what my neighbors are saying or what i feel like the people i know are going to do is going to have such a big impact. How do you create influence at that level around accedes. So you know i take a lot of phone calls a lot of emails and I tell people the truth always so when we didn't know stuff early on jacob. I told them we didn't know yet. We needed to give time for the studies to be completed with vaccine trials and then as we started to know more we then shared more. And so what. I've tried to do is to be transparent about what we don't know and open even more open about what we do know and at no point have i ask people to deviate from those healthcare practices. Oh of the three ws washing your hands wearing your masks in watching your distance and recently i added a p on that so as three ws. Nlp now being patient for wind is your turn to receive a vaccine. And so i think is really really critical that we as healthcare providers as scientists. Let people know that. This is evolving. That's what i've tried to do with my peers. Is to make sure that they understand that. We don't know everything but what we do know. Be confident in that.

"We'll give you permission for three one for each of the last three ws. There's no way might call anyway, Washington. Fourteen to to get the top seed they won the regular season championship. Arizona states. The number two seed, they're eleven and six so those are the two that we know. Now, we go from there Utah is now in third place. They're ten and seven. So if the season ended today they've had a first-round bye. But they've got one more game. And then you have a bunch of teams and nine and eight Oregon state will play Washington state UCLA nine and eight they will play at Utah. Colorado is nine and eight they will host USC which lost to Utah tonight and Oregon the Oregon is kind of the fly in the ornament right now nine and eight they've won three straight. But they've got to play the huskies on senior day at Alaska Airlines arena. But nevertheless, Oregon still has a chance to get it by then you've got USC at eight nine Arizona eight nine they will host the Arizona state Sundell's in their rival game. To conclude the season. But they can't get a by. I'll Stanford drops to eight and ten and so there's a good chance they could play in that first game of the tournament. Eight nine depending on how everything else shakes out women's hoops tonight. Good news for Lindsey Gottlieb and the bears assay defeat. Washington state seventy seven to fifty eight and will face the Stanford cardinal for the third time this season tomorrow in the quarter-finals in Las Vegas. All right. "I mean, we'll get into the particulars of the implications of pulling out of the Iran deal. The various regional dynamics play, but the rhetoric particularly from Netanyahu literally using the word war is should you know, make everybody obviously profoundly concerned, but yet to organizing against the catastrophe that apparently he and palm peyot in the Gulf states are pushing one also just start off by saying that Benjamin Netanyahu has a pretty long history of talking about military. Interventions in the Middle East spearheaded by the United States that will work out quite well in his estimate. This is a clip from two thousand to where Benjamin Netanyahu in testimony before the US congress suggests that not only is really important, not only that invading Iraq will be great. But that invading Iraq is the only path to peace in the Middle East and think of and Mike Pompeo said this just yesterday with regards to Iran. This is BB Netanyahu in two thousand two if you take out Saddam so regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region. And I think that people sitting right next door in Iran. Young people and many others will say the time of such regimes of such just butts is gone. There was a new way something was happening and rough speculation on your part or you have some evidence to that effect. You know, I was I was. Asked the same question in nineteen eighty six. Ridden a book in which I had said that the way to do with terrorist regimes. Well, with terra was to deal with the terrorist regimes and the way to deal with the terrorist regimes among other things was to apply military force against the we did in Afghanistan the way, for example, I want to answer your question. Money at a time. So quickly was trying to get done. I think what you propose in Afghanistan yet. I haven't seen that sort of neighborhood effect. I think there's been an enormous affect the effect was we were told that there would be a contract. First of all people said that would be tens of thousands of people streaming into ghanistan village who would be outraged by America's action, and this would produce a counter reaction in the world. But I think what happening when you take an actually we did have ghanistan we're gonna see all the other countries fold what we saw something. First of all we saw everybody streaming out of ghanistan. The second thing we saw is all the Arab countries and many Muslim countries trying to side with America trying to make to be okay with America the application of power is the most important thing and winning the war on terrorism. If I had to say, what are the three principles of winning the war on terror? It's like what are the principles real estate? The three hills location location location. The three principles of winning the war on terror of the three ws winning winning and winning the more. Victories amass the easier. The next victory becomes the first victory. And of ghanistan makes a second victory in Iraq that much easier. The second victory in Iraq will make the third victory that much easier to but it may change the nature of cheating bed victory. Maybe possible to have implosion taking place. I don't care and tear, Mr. Turney. But I think it makes it more likely, and therefore I think the choice of Iraq. Okay. So in addition to the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu is some form of neo-fascist not needing not being news to anybody with two thousand two clip..

"And a look to twenty nineteen it's different for sure. And obviously, you know, I've been position at GM SS of like dole guy and get to work with the rookie. So it's cool Sheldon, obviously is shown speed early. So I look for him to have a pretty good year and freezing his coming back. So and obviously he's been with us for a year and a half now. So it's gonna be fun. Obviously, we're going to have a little couple less trucks. I guess it looks like so you know, hopefully that helps us a little bit. But all it's going to be good because I feel like all three of us are very capable guys. And and I look for us to be competing against each other for for wins. Not only the competition, but amongst ourselves at GM's such a solid season for Johnny. And then it just fell off the rails for their that final race. Yeah. I know. That's stop. The way you wanna finish it out if you've had such dominant season like he had. But honestly once the second half the season started. I mean, you saw his last win was at a tone at they weren't quite what they were earlier in the year. I don't know what happened. I don't know if the competition caught up or what I know the fact that that hetero racing was not using the crate motor for a while. I think that might have played a little bit of a hand into it. But who knows I don't know. There was all right. It's just really weird that that it played out that way. All right moving right along here in third was just in. Hailey he picked up three ws. Those are wins nine top fives. Eighteen top tens also not too shabby of a season for being third Texas Canadian tire motorsport park, and gateway were the sites of his wins. Here's Justin he'd take all the momentum and success. You've had and I've been to all the tracks. Now pretty much except for like Fontana, and and everything so colleague gracie's, given me a great platform and an opportunity to go to the extreme east for for years and. Hopefully, I can take a lot of my experience over there and try to build the team little more justly Haley's going extend series racing this upcoming season here he is talking about it. That's obviously awesome. I think the rookie class is going to be stout with me and and Noah, and I'm not sure about chase musher, but it's gonna be fun and I'm excited, obviously, I had some success this year next miniseries with Daytona and whatnot and kind of proven my name already a little bit in the series. So hopefully, I'm familiar face at the end of the season. Yeah. I just had a just just thought of that. We're in two thousand nine hundred ready. Yeah. I mean, it's it's happening. So that is third and fourth were both GM s racing drivers. And they had a total of nine victories between the two of them. That's a lot that does seem excessive to me. So maybe twenty races in the season two teammates ended up with almost half of the victories. It's pretty good. They should share the wealth a little bit. I think well I mean they did because they were third and fourth in points. I guess if you want to be that way about it. Yeah. Yeah. I guess they were being nice about that. Definitely. Let's head into number two territory and for that we've got Toby Christie. Yeah. It's actually no Gregson. He's been kind of a guy. That's everybody's been talking about throughout the season. He's one of the up and coming drivers the sport one win eight top five seventeen top tens and six poles. Wow. Yeah. Is a one came at Kansas, by the way in here's Noah Gregson to talk about his season. It's been huge for myself. Personally. I think I've seen the most growth for myself more than ever throughout this year. And. On the track off the track..

"Susan tries to get it what she calls the three ws, and she'll explain that in just a second and other strategic insights that are especially critical when thinking about a backyard sized garden of the proportions common to most American homes where you simply can't do everything. So weird is this evaluation process begin? Well, here's how Susan described it to me. Well, one of the things that I find is that when I meet with a new client in their garden. There is a tendency to focus on the practical. And so they want to jump right in. In with Susan. We pictured having an gazebo over here. And we we have a hot tub over here. And I don't like that. And I'm not I'm not a designer. I don't send out a questionnaire in advance. I kind of feel like we're asked to answer surveys all the time anymore. I feel like I can't get a bottle of shampoo without being asked about my experience. But I do once I get there like to drill down. And what I try to do is move people away from what they want in their garden and said start with what I call the three ws, and those ws are what will you be doing in the garden when will you be outside, and who will be with you. So in essence we want to start with your your lifestyle your experiences. How are you going to use the space? Don't tell me what you want. Tell me what you wanna do. And then together we'll figure out what that means in Susan's writing. And in our interview, I picked up on another phrase of hers that stuck with me as a goal for my garden and might help you to one of her mantras. I really. I loved was the idea. She calls less space more enjoyment. Again, a tactic zeroes in on realizing the action packed potential of the average American yard. I asked her to explain that to me. Yes. And it's it's basically taking a negative and making it a positive, right? Because there are so many fantastic things about a small garden. You know, you're right up close to all of the actional of the time. You never miss anything. And you can really spend a lot less time in your garden and still have something that comes out really really beautifully. And and again, it's not the idea of the three ws is well, you know, I used that with all of my clients, regardless of the size garden, but in a small garden, you do have to work a little bit harder to create what you want because you just don't have an unlimited canvas. And so those ideas become even even more important. And in fact, I think of those of those three ws the most important one is what do you want to do in the garden, and you it said at the beginning, you know, if I came out to your gigantic space, but imagine you have a smaller space and and to help you get started. I would start ask you this question. What is it? That you like to do when you're outside and an example that I give in the book because this actually comes up fairly often is someone will tell me that they like to cook outside. So if I get that question, then all estimates of questions back like, you know. How often do you like to cook outside and you do it year round? Or just some of the time is just you in the family, or do you entertain what big difference, right it? It's a huge difference. Because what makes the three ws so powerful is the more you drill down in the detail. The more you're going to personalise the space. So if they say, well, I like to we grill all the time all week long that I'll make sure that the barbecue areas close to the kitchen door, and as you know, design is also about allocating your budget in the smart way. Does more money against that? And if they barbecue year round make sure there's protection from the elements, and if they liked to entertain make sure that it's social area and that they can grow while they're still hanging out with their guests..

"For for that repairing you're not getting as many cells so that's why fast not being done anymore several treatments had us that typically one most people that we've done over the years have done one treatment there are some people who've done a second treatment although they did get sixty seventy percent benefit and i've looked at this because people have asked me this overtime they've done a second one because they wanted to get more result so most people only do one treatment does it matter my husband's seemed to think that the length of time that he goes and he's had this painting would it take longer to heal what's hard to say probably not because i've seen people that have had a long term knee or back or you know parkinson's or msn you could look at the videos on my website in the patient videos will show you exactly you know what that's about and they'll describe their benefits to some people had results over the course of a couple of days some people get results within weeks or within the month it depends upon how many cells damaged and there's no way for me to say how many cells you have torn in your knee or how many cells are damaged within you know the nerves going down the leg so the amount of time it takes to get better really depends upon how much damage a website and spell your name chris i don't know how to dr cal dot net www dot d r c a l dot net l dot net a w dot dot c a l dot net that's very simple three ws www dot then d r c a l dot net okay let's go to bill in new jersey how are you whoa doctor how are you how can i help you my cousin has now in california is recovering from an operation for a quintuple quintupled tomato tomato pets and as it happens he lives on long island cars a year he he doesn't do snow so that's why so once he covers from the operation that self he'll be back in long island i was wondering if there's some kind of thing that would benefit well of course yeah for people who've had years worth of progressively clogged unclogging blood vessels so it leads.
