"Third quarter results resume video. Were better than expected. Guidance for the fourth quarter was not what wall street wanted to hear. And maybe wall street's getting a little greedy because if i'm not mistaken video projected revenue growth for the fourth quarter at north of three hundred twenty percent. And that's a little the slowing growth. That is at least for the day while not a death knell for zoom video but the stock is sold off about thirteen percent today yes far from a death knell. I would say so the fifty two week low for the stock which you can imagine was Roughly twelve months ago Sixty two dollars. High five eighty eight So back to four twelve. It's really about the same level. It was right after the Second quarter fiscal second quarter report that it gave three months ago and the stock moved way up to this level today. It's moving down a bit back to the level i think it's basically confirmation that the The floor underneath stock is very very very secure or the floor under the company. The ceiling e gets reduced as You know the the vaccine news comes in better There's been a lot of that lately and that puts a little bit of a cap on on the very near term story of zoom And if people get to go back to their old lives either eventually or sooner than eventually That takes a little bit of the helium out of the zoom stock. Holiday sales are expected to increase at least 3.6% this year

"On Tuesday the Dow hit 30,000 for the first time ever, and President Trump celebrated its and, most importantly, I want to congratulate the people of our country. Because there are no people like you. It's quite the comeback. The Dow was below 20,000 back in March, and the housing market is boon, which has increased home values for a lot of Americans. So, the National Retail Federation predicts overall holiday sales will rise between 3.6 to 5.2% this year. People aren't spending money at restaurants and not spending money on cruises and vacation. So So there is a lot of my people have been saving, so there is a lot of money in the economy again. I wouldn't want to be very thoughtful and respectful for those who don't have jobs because the pandemic, but that's not most people, Most people Are employed. They do have money and, frankly, the cop bored sitting around at home with nothing to do, and there, everyone set up with this pandemic, and they want to do something so people will go out and shop probably not to the levels of prior years. But they will shop at home to more than make up for it. So I've been bullish for months. I've said this holiday shop is no surprise with interested. I've been saying the same thing. Even better for months, I think will be at least 5% year over year gain in retail retail shopping, in fact what they said They were excluding restaurants and gasoline, automobiles and keep in mind is that you know that was up 8.5% in October 7.9% for the for the third quarter. So what They're actually saying in a way is going to slow down and I don't think it will. So I think we're going to see really high sales for this holiday season. It's not spread equally. People are not buying clothing. Let me tell you, you know, there is no point in dressed up with nowhere to go. So clothing stores in department stores have still been suffering during this period. But everyone else is doing great best by reporter fantastic numbers. On Tuesday, dicks sporting goods or defend had 20/20 percent. Comes. Botham seems yourself those are numbers. You just have never before they go astronomical sales for for there, so people are spending on on home. They're spending to exercise their spending Elektronik. They're spending on food. And they're sure spending big. You saw it target WalMart, Costco All these dollar stores. You know, they're a lot of winners. There also losers and I just want to mention the other big loser. Unfortunately, small mom and pop We don't have the technology to compete in an Internet enabled error, and so they have been going out of business in really, you know, Historically high numbers. This Could Be the Year of Take-Out Thanksgiving

"Services have had huge pandemic boosts not surprisingly there ready and waiting to ferry millions of holiday meals in particular. We're presuming that. The ceo of door dash is particularly thankful for the extra business today just last week. The silicon valley company filed to go public that filing has been met with as much skepticism as a novice cook eyeing his first turkey. Now let's be clear. Door dash is now the largest delivery service in the us by volume revenues grew exponentially after the first lock downs and they've continued to surge since january door dash has delivered more than five hundred. Forty million orders according to the company's sec filing that's about three times as many as the same period a year ago this year's orders brought in almost two billion dollars in sales again well over double the same time last year. Sales are likely to continue growing as long as the pandemic is with us. But here's where some of the skepticism comes in like many tech company door dashes focused on growth at the expense of prophets. The delivery business is a dogfight door dash up against ubereats grubhub postmates which ubereats bought in july and restaurants owned delivery services as a result. The company has only had a couple of profitable quarters since it was founded seven years ago. Yeah one of those quarters was this year in the second quarter door dashes turned a profit of twenty three million dollars but in the third quarter jordache once again lost money bat. Despite restaurant owners long complaints jordache takes as much as thirty percent commission from them. In addition to charge customers delivery fees new regulations intended to protect restaurants could rain in those fees and yet in the strange economics of our time the company's valuation skyrocketed from two billion dollars last year to fifteen billion. Now this means that even if door dash can't find a path to profitability anytime soon. It's investors stand to make a lot of money in an ipo consider the ipo's timing for another perspective to the company filed on november thirteenth. Just a little over a week. After winning a victory in the most expensive ballot measure ever to hit california along with other gig worker businesses like uber and instacart dash spent millions to win passage of proposition. Twenty two that proposition exempts some companies from a new california labor law that reclassifies gig workers as employees door dash has a million drivers call dashers across the country having furnished them with sick. Leave and unemployment benefits would have threatened the company's existence they say passage of prop. Twenty two may door dashes. Ipo prospects much brighter. Cnbc reported under prop twenty two door. Dash uber and others will have to provide some health care benefits to drivers along with minimum earnings guarantee over time those dashers face their own. Existential threats in the future jordache says it plans to replace them with drones and driverless cars. The same kinds of challenges and controversies dog door dashes rivals uber. Eats has also soared on the back of pandemic restaurant closures but analysts say it's held back by the waning fortunes of uber's ridesharing. Business and lift is now partnering with grubhub which went public in april of twenty fourteen. Both uber and lift went public last year. But by the end of the year they're shares tanked. Now we hardly expect you to think about all this messiness when you're just trying to get dinner on the table but just know that beneath the soaring sales food delivery. Business is an all sweetness and light. Maybe go pick up your meal yourself. Just a thought. Happy thanksgiving

Amazon doubled its profit during the pandemic

"Given this huge surge of demand. How profitable has two thousand and twenty pm for emerson. Well it looks like in terms of its of its revenues. It's just off the scale. Really a big big on both the top and bottom line. We've got revenue coming in amazon. Report is third quarter results. Companies revenues were ninety. Six point one. Five billion dollars is not income. Increased to six point. Three billion dollars in the third quarter. That's nang well. The stock is up almost two percent here after hours. Mike that's quite a bottom line. Beat here for amazon operating cash flow increasing fifty six percent. Everything he's going through the roof. I mean the numbers are so big that have no sense really of what they mean but i can tell they made the amazon has done very very well and so that leads me into my next question. Is this a company that pays its taxes and plays fairly in the marketplace so there are huge questions about amazon taxes. They pay the taxes all over the world. The question is how much tax they pay. So in september it was reported that its sales in the uk had surged fourteen billion pounds but it paid only two hundred ninety million pounds in uk tax. Now that as far as i understand it is because the level of profit that it declares is relatively small but it's turnover and its revenues arguably speak for themselves and that's a huge source of control busy so for example in two thousand eighteen in the usa amazon posted income more than eleven billion dollars but the company paid nothing in federal taxes. Nothing nothing and that's because they would say well they've only just started to turn a profit

Pandemic impact on Black Friday shopping

"Is the first year at that. Most of the stories about black friday are being done about what's happening online this year keeping packages a secret may be challenging. You wanna make sure. There's enough time for shipping actually being called ship and get it and i think what sometimes people might not realize is even though we see all of this online shopping and we're certainly seeing a huge amount more of it this year than last twenty to thirty percent more over black. Friday are the expectations. They're still by and large more shopping happening in stores. So even though this year we will see online shopping up. Twenty to thirty percent and in store shopping down about five percent about two thirds or even three quarters of the full dollars spent over. The holidays will actually be spent in stores of analysts are right and analysts by the way are expecting this to be a strong holiday. retail season. the national retail federation. Expect spending to be up anywhere between about four percent and five percent this year. A number of estimates say that overall retail spending over the holidays will top trillion dollars. But are we gonna see the sort of sales like is it. Is it like morally acceptable this year to have your big doorbuster sale out of people gathered outside like the. That's still happening where people just want to shop anyway. A lot of the major retailers have said. We're not doing that anymore on thanksgiving day and they're going to have a lot to deal with on black friday on the traditional black friday when many will open their doors when stores open if you do go to the store bring patients because there'll be strict limits on the number of people allowed in each store Mascow required it. Also social distancing will be enforced. And i think it will be a much more orderly black friday than years past. Which doesn't necessarily get your heart beating as quickly when you when you when you wait in line and then you're sort of orderly let into a store in small numbers at the same time where you're going to see a lot of the quote unquote doorbusters is online doorbusters. If you truly want the best price a big factor is when to by many deals are live as we speak or dropping like wednesday night of this week and that's really changing the sheep of shopping people don't need to go to stores anymore and i think that's just more of what we're going to see in the

Bill Gates looks back at ‘The Road Ahead’ after 25 years and some hit-and-miss tech predictions

"Is sometimes cop to the criticism that on this show. We tend to focus on the horse race between the big tech companies. Who's up who's down. Who like roadblocks might be a godzilla of the future and who like maybe intel seems to be sliding towards being an irrelevant dinosaur of the past. The way i like to think about it is that we're covering the evolution and creative destruction of capitalism in real time keeping score of who's the richest person in the world is probably less relevant to that task but only obliquely so for what it's worth. It's worth noting that elon. Musk has overtaken bill gates to become the world's second richest person behind. jeff bezos. Quoting the verge. The tesla ceo net worth now sits at around one hundred twenty eight billion dollars after increasing by one hundred billion dollars this year alone. There is a sizable gap between. Musk and the number one spot which is currently held by amazon ceo. Jeff bezos who has reported net worth of around one hundred and eighty two billion dollars in january. Musk ranked thirty fifth on the list. Bloomberg reports musk's rapid ascent up. The list has mainly been driven by tesla share price. The car company currently has a market cap of almost five hundred billion dollars after starting the year at under one hundred billion dollars. The guardian reports that tesla has the highest market cap of any car company in the world despite producing a fraction of the cars of more established automakers. This year it expects lose. Five hundred thousand cars compared to around ten million for a company like toyota around three quarters of musk's net worth consists of tesla shares according to bloomberg but musk's other major venture space x has also seen recent success last week the company transported for astronauts to the international space station aboard. It's crew dragon spacecraft that follows the company's first crewed flight to space in may of this year bill gates sat atop the billionaires index for years until he was overtaken by jeff bezos in two thousand seventeen bloomberg notes. That gates would probably have a higher net wealth right now if he hadn't given so much money to charity including the over twenty seven billion dollars. He's donated through the bill and melinda gates foundation since two thousand six gates. Moscow have had some high profile disagreements this year in september. Musk said gateshead quote no clue about the viability of electric trucks after the microsoft co-founder said that electric semi trucks along with electric cargo ships and passenger jets will probably never be practical earlier. Are Beans a Protein or Carbohydrate?

The Nutrition Diva's Quick and Dirty Tips for Eating Well and Feeling Fabulous

04:33 min | 3 weeks ago

Are Beans a Protein or Carbohydrate?

"Hello and welcome to the nutrition. Diva podcast. i'm your host monterey nagel and in this episode. i'm going to answer. The eternal question are being of protein or carbohydrate food. Vegetarians and vegans lean pretty hard on beans as a source of protein. And even those of us who sometimes eat meat but also enjoy plant based meals will often build our meat free meals around some sort of legume and that's because they contain more protein per serving than most other plant foods but the nutritional profile of legumes is very different from animal protein sources eggs meat fish and chicken get anywhere from fifty to ninety five percent of their calories from protein with the rest usually coming from fat leg. Hume's on the other hand only get about a quarter of their calories from protein and the rest is mostly carbohydrate. Soybeans are a bit of an exception being higher in both protein and fat and lowering carbohydrate than other legumes. Peanuts which are technically legumes are another exception. They're even higher in fat than soybeans and lower in protein than most beans. Perhaps because of this peanuts are generally categorized as nuts for the purposes of dietary guidelines despite their botanical classification. So can you get enough protein from beans well. Although we think of beans as being a protein food the truth is that they provide a lot less protein per serving and per calorie than animal proteins. A three ounce serving of cooked chicken breast for example provides about twenty six grams of protein and about one hundred and sixty calories. The standard serving size for beans is a half of cup of cooked beans and that provides just eight grams of protein for around one hundred twenty calories so we would need to eat a lot more beans to get the same amount of protein as we get from meet. It would take two cups of black beans. That's about four hundred and eighty calories to get the same amount of protein as you'd get from three quarters of a cup of chicken breast for example so for every gram of protein and beans. You're also taking in about three grams of carbohydrate and a lot more calories now although beans are relatively high in carbs these are some of the healthiest types of carbs. The carbohydrate portion of beans is a combination of fiber and starch but about half of the starch in beans is actually what we refer to as resistant starch that means it resists digestion and absorption in the small intestine and goes on to function much like fiber in the gut the fiber and the resistant starch in beans feed the beneficial bacteria in the gut. They promote regularity they helped to modulate our blood sugar response to food. They also increase our satiafaction and society after meals helping us feel full with fewer calories. Perhaps that's why people who eat. More beans generally have healthier body weights and lower waist. Circumference beans also contain fido sterols. These are plant compounds that are shaped so similarly to cholesterol that they can occupy the cholesterol receptors in ourselves and regular being consumption is linked with better cholesterol profiles. So beans have a lot going for them. But let's talk about how they fit into your diet because when we build a meal around beans instead of meat which is a great idea. We may need to make some other adjustments to our plates because beans contain both protein and starch. It might make sense to reduce other sources of starch to compensate for that. So if you're having black-eyed peas instead of blackened catfish for dinner. Perhaps you skip the bread or the potatoes. Beans and rice of course are a classic combination in part because of the complementary amino acid profile. But you could have a smaller portion of rice with your beans instead of half a cup of beans and a cup of rice. For example you could switch the proportions on that double up on the beans ordered to bump up the protein and reduce the rice to half a cup

"three quarter" Discussed on NPR Politics Podcast

"First things may have changed by the time you hear this but one thing is for certain for the next several months. The politics team will be in our ears. Here's tomorrow to tell us about it. Okay friends. Here's the show. How much did we pay her. Oh we put out a request and we got like forty five times but please do keep sending them in because we have a lot of podcast coming. Even if we're not paying you please send them in. Hey there. It's the NPR politics podcast. I'm Tamer Keith. I cover the White House. I'm Daniel Kurtzer even cover Politics Medical Montoneros senior political editor and correspondent on this podcast. We have been talking a lot in the last week or so about the impeachment inquiry but guess what there is still a presidential campaign happening fundraising for the quarter ended last night and today. We've been getting some numbers Danielle. Can you run through those numbers right the big headline numbers that our listeners may we have seen out there are that Senator Bernie Sanders raised twenty five point three million dollars in the third quarter this year so July through September that is a lot of money it rivals what he got in the third quarter of twenty fifteen just as he was picking up speed aside from that South Bend Mayor People Got Nineteen point one million that is a very good total and senator cory booker got six million. We should say we don't know what all of the big candidate Scott. They reported their end of quarter totals but the F. E. see the federal election. Commission will not come out with the exact data until October fifteenth okay so we are going to dig in a little bit more on what's Sanders and Buddha the judge booker what those numbers mean but first Dominica Oh. Why do we watch these fundraising reports. You know in order to do things in a campaign. You need money. I mean in order to hire staff to run TV ads to define yourself you need money and in fact Bernie Sanders loan behold right on the same day. He releases this twenty five million dollar hall. He's out with the very first campaign ad of the two thousand twenty cycle for him for him. Whether it was Wall Street the the drug companies or other powerful special interests Bernie has taken them on for us so this is a campaign ad this ad is going in to cover the airwaves in Iowa and the reason he can do that is because he just raised a lot of money yeah he's campaign says he's going to be spending pending one point three million dollars in Isla cover all the markets and that's a lot of money for Iowa so there's another reason that we watch these reports and in in some ways fundraising becomes a stand in for strength. It's like there are polls and then there are fundraising numbers right and let's ads also fundraising begets more fundraising like for example speaking of showing strength you can go to your donors with that fundraising total and say look. I am viable for at least the X. amount of time longer. I have twenty five million nine hundred million. Whatever if you give me now. It's not going to be wasted because I'm going to be sticking around longer. I think it's also very good. Pr Move move by the Sanders campaign in particular to be able to release this number today because we don't know what a former vice president biden has raised. We don't know. What Elizabeth Warren the Massachusetts Susa senator has raised the two people who have been leading in the polls just above sanders and there's been this narrative. That's been taking place nationally to say that well well. Bernie Sanders is losing some momentum. Elizabeth Warren looks like she's passing him by she might even be a catcher eclipse. Joe Biden at some point soon. Bernie Sanders is saying hold on a second. I'm here to stay. His people are behind him. He's got lots of grassroots support and continues to show that strength okay. Let's move on to peop- Buddha judge. He raised this nineteen point. One million listeners of the podcast might remember last quarter. We were also talking about a blockbuster number from Buddha judge. In fact he raised more than any other candidate last quarter right so this is showing that he once again like we said he will be sticking around at least for a while and you know to be honest. If you're looking at these numbers you might be a little surprised just because this doesn't quite match up with the Poles but it shows that he does have enough people who are invested in him quite literally to want him to keep going. I mean when I've talked to a lot of voters. As I heard a fair number of voters. This is antic data but yeah I mean so take this with a bazillion grains of salt but the same voters who told tell me I like Joe. Biden are often the voters who told me I like people to judge so that's interesting yeah. I mean granted. You have a lot of voters who say I'll vote for any of them but I'm wondering if you know you voters who see people to judge as a person to back if perhaps Joe Biden slips. Let's talk about Cory Booker. He's the senator from New Jersey Yeah. He raised six million dollars. That is not the same number as the other two. We've just been talking about but his fundraising was a major focus of the last couple of weeks because his campaign I had gone out and said if we can't raise a lot of money in this closing couple of weeks. We may not be a going operation. He basically created what you the psychology of what you do in these creepy email campaigns that he wound up being able to do that on television and saying it out loud. You know those emails with the subject lines that are so annoying that are like hey dinner what we're done yet. We're doing it ever more desperate. Desperate trump is coming after me. We may not make it right you raise. That sense of urgency like booker was doing say man. If I don't raise that one point seven million I'm out and look at that urgency at created. He said a bar that he probably knew he could hit and then got the money. Yeah he not only got the money he got nearly two point two million in those last ten today's well over that one point seven as part of that pledge drive if you will at the end of his campaign but the total was six million well it means he's off dropout. Watch right now. I mean he's made the debate stage. He'll be there. There are other candidates who may not raise the kind of money they need and won't be on the debate stage who we should watch for whether they're going to continue on one other candidate who we haven't mentioned agent president trump and we don't have his numbers yet so we don't know what he's raised. I can say that in the last couple of days. People on his campaign have been saying well. impeachments been really good for fundraising I've been raising a lot of money off of impeachment. They've been running digital ads in fact a super PAC that is aligned with the president running digital ads going going after some Democrats. This is the thing that they have expected a lot of people on his campaign and they have said repeatedly good. Let Democrats go after him for it. Now that maybe a spin in a way but you know the people who give you money are the people who have given you money and this is an easy way to go back to the base we will get more specifics from them when they put out their full numbers and obviously will get even more specifics on both trump and the rest of the Democratic field in the middle of the month when the numbers come out from the Federal Elections Commission. We are going to take a quick break and when we get back. Let's talk about the debate. It's in two weeks but we now know who will be on stage edge support for.

"And. With what's news from the Wall Street Journal. I'm Anne Marie for Tolley in New York Friday marked the final trading day of the third quarter. The Dow closed up eighteen points at twenty six thousand four hundred fifty eight. The NASDAQ gained four points and the s. and p. five hundred was virtually unchanged on Friday for the week. The Dow was down more than one percent. The NASDAQ was up point, seven percent and the s. and p. five hundred was down about half a percent overall for the quarter. The Dow rose, nine percent. The NASDAQ rose, seven point, one percent and the s. and p. five hundred gained seven point. Three percent joining us now with the details is Wall Street Journal reporter, Connie Otani so economy. We've ended the third quarter heading into Tober. What can you tell us over all about stock performance during this period? I'd say it was surprisingly strong given all the worries that investors had to contend with. So the third quarter we saw a lot of renewed worries about the state of. Trade relations, particularly between the US and China and the US, and Canada and Mexico. And it seemed like a lot of those questions were sort of left unanswered heading into the last quarter of the year. But even then we still saw the key post its biggest quarterly gained since twenty thirteen. We saw all three major indexes actually reclaim the highs that they had hit in January and struggled to get ahead of. And we saw some renewed optimism about the state of the US economy. So even though we had all of these tensions flaring around trade, I think investors were pretty reassured by the economic data that we saw over the last couple of months and that helped power stocks forward. And also this week we had the Federal Reserve's meeting for September, whereas expected, they decided to raise short-term interest rates for a third time this year with a fourth likely in December, how did that move? The markets? We did see bond yields fall and stocks serve start to end on a weak note that day. Day, which was interesting because most investors that I spoke to her saying that the Fed's move was very well telegraphed that they were a hundred percent expecting a third rate increase to be announced and or fourth to be sort of flecked at. But we did see bonds rallying a little bit, and some vessels were just saying that might have been partly due to some sort of quarter and buying tippety that tends to happen in the bond market. I think overall, the takeaway was still that the fed looks like it's on a pretty gentle course of interest rate increases for the remainder of this year and next year. And so right now it doesn't really seem like that's top of people's worries for the market. Some other big news this week, that securities regulators are suing tesla CEO, Elon Musk, and seeking to remove him from the company which didn't play out too well for tesla, he, we saw tesla shares immediately fallen after hours, trading Thursday, and then continue sliding Friday. I think posting one of their biggest one day. Decreases in a number of years. So it was sort of a startling development in what's already been quite a turbulent ride for tesla investors. This all started in August when Ilan musk tweeted that he'd secured funding to take the company private. And of course, that claim has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny. And what we've been hearing the last couple of days is that the fact that has now sued Ilan Musk's sort of ratchets up the pressure on the company and it does make investors a little bit more wary about what the risks are moving forward, especially if Elon Musk is going to have to leave the company. Ultimately the Wall Street Journal also had another interesting report this week raising the question of whether we're nearing a market top amid record highs and a lot of dealmaking tell us a little bit more about that. He has. So it's, it's an interesting question to ask. You know when everything seems to be going really well, is that signaling that we're near a market top. I think the most, the most cited example that people always go back to is two thousand the dot com era..

"Reminders on my phone was like the greatest thing because like I said, I have reminders for everything that go off cons. I was never good at birthday forever. Birthdays and never gonna names names. I've always been bad at faces. I'm great. What I'm saying. We're talking about. Oh, man, we did it. We did it far. We ever. Everyone one more subject and we'll take it home MAC, why don't you want you agree with another talking about? We could have talked about today other than fighting grooming and fighting and hats. Anatomy. Okay. We talked fair share about different body parts. What we talked about body hair. That's true block subject. I don't care what you wanna talk about rainbows. Rainbows. I've no idea. I'm looking around the room and just saw skull, so. Let's talk about. I don't see this almost own episode toys. That is definitely. Oh, man, but we talk about a little bit. You got a decent collection. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like you do the marvel legends, right? Yeah, three and three quarter inch like toys like GI Joe like size like, I'm but don't. You also have all the eight inch marvel. Don't have that box in your house of every marvel. The three and three quarter smaller. Are the ledger universe? You're Yeah, you're right. right. Was that always your main deal three-quarter for the most part? Yes. They're easy to travel with and so forth. And I was always traveling, so there's that. And also when I was a kid, I said, like, oh, when I grow up, I'm gonna buy all the things that I wasn't able to get when I get older like. And so all of a sudden I saw this whole line of toys that existed bottom all the mall. I bought them like all like he's got three crusher Creoles on the shelf. I even got even variant. But I have all like, I can't tell you how many different like th or contact parents them from the city or Comecon one from twenty ten looking like I have all of those like that kind of stuff. Those anyone's. I really kind of collect. Now you still collect, what do you mean? You also collect the cars from that drugstore? Her. Yeah. They're kind of bigger. You know, the ones where you pull a back, what would zoom forward kind of thing. So so my my, my pharmacy in size, I was a gift that green went up there, right? There's the exact car we're talking about. So it's, it's always noticed they had them, and so so I decided. Knowledge it, I'm there. Why would walk by all the time? They have big old display of them. And so then he said, well, I'm going to grab one. And then it became this thing every time I go in there. I grab one. It's been a couple of years. I have a box like like just up to my knee. What do you, what do you do at them? Put him in a box. Sometimes to take him out. Sometimes we do raises sometimes I- repaint them. Giving away as gifts we should do, give a contest. No. I mean, sure. We could do a contest give some way, but also we should do like, what's that show with the British guys where they do like they get into gear. But with those little cars who do tiny, your episode IV in review, just do reviews of those tiny cars. They're different features and like caught low gear. Exactly. Here. Did you guys have a particular toy that you loved when you were kid took everywhere? Bedroom right now. So add honestly there in my bed, three stuffed animals. I had. I've studies stuffed animals to who years mine is. So I got chimp a gorilla. I got the circus I got nutsy who's a spider monkey that I thought was called the squirrel bunk. "To kind of make this stuff go away it seems and i think that that is going to be a thought of conversation in both now next week and probably beyond because it's a real issue if they're the players that are involved in this and want to get something done or don't see eye to eye and don't feel as if they're moving in step in doing it the right way total airdrie um mine is going to be a little more on the field bill i think you look at the nfc south and i think we're going to learn a lot about the nfc south this week in the next couple of weeks because obviously the falcons had the vikings any of the big as he south match up with the saints the panthers and the next week obviously saints and falcons on thursday night and so i just think and then by the way after that vikings a banter so we're gonna learn a lot about this vision esca weeks i think that we've been sweeping on it as a really fun competitive division obviously we've known that they've been really did teams there but there's there's a real good potential for three playoff teams and three exciting playoff teams this isn't it sometimes you get year diversionary stick okay i don't care about the this is this is a good division and i am intrigued to see what happened next couple of weeks is like the exact opposite if the safe effective tangles in the ravens wearables sneak sneakin is the exact opposite of that dogs are intriguing exit after that falcons saints game next week kuboi i'm really looking forward to that by that's it for today we're back on tuesday with recap of week thirteen as always thanks for listening to the ramona they'll show on the rare podcast shower thanks guys.

"I guess he's not being overworked he will win it but his frustration was that he thinks it defenses get unfairly judge for having too many good players around them whereas offenses do not and he actually mention luqui kley specifically as someone who who may be gets a little too much credit so what i'm intrigued by seeing and this is an unfortunate side effect all the injuries but i'm intrigued to see earl thomas and bobby wagner without talent around them is that makes sense just to see what those pieces look like without them because shermans point being that the seahawks events has been so stacked for years um i'm intrigued to see what they do without a stacked defense i think that the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the defense declines but washing bobby wagner last week he was a monster that's what i'm saying i mean the guy was an absolute monster i think that point is extremely well taken by the way we kind of knock defensive players for that but we don't knock offense of players for that i think they are a couple different reasons one stacks dip numbers allow us to kind of put an objective measure to performance even if it's not objective who have not ryan last year matt ryan was in the perfect system a ton of talent around him just had one of the most efficient office the season's ever in one the mvp so we had a look at the numbers and say that's the mvp even if we don't take into account the help that business around him right on defense that's never going to happen there are no stats rural thomas because people don't throw at him so he's not going to intercept passes that's the problem is hearts herds a parse the overall quality of defensive players and just put a number to it and i think that's why safeties and corners don't pick off a lot of passes and even inside linebackers joe in defensive player of the year because you need numbers to.

"The panthers i've never seem more if he's a pretty of any but in the past his praising alvin kamara they're trying to kill their dislike pretty who is added sailing legos like yeah okay achieved the he's leuke quickly i haven't seen anything like him so i think they might be okay inverse predator that works survey lyons a ravens rick wagner revenge game that's all i'm key that's the only thing i'm watching for just the amount of type when lebrun abacha cleveland the first time i was there are actually two that was the lebrun cleveland yeah okay i always go into the rick wagner revive i was not so it was the it was two thousand ten and i had got hired a kremlin but we weren't starting at sites had nothing to do so just sitting at home and as a cleveland six hours away wouldn't it be awesome to go to this so i went it was it was great that sounds great yeah it was like the type of thing you do it 22 job all right i'm just gonna go to this random subway as a fan yet we wouldn't that be a prohibitively expensive event to go to if you're not a fan of one of the teams like a hundred and twentyfive bucks by ticket asked not bad at some midwest body yup there was not bad at all and actually it was very funny i managed to sneak down to press rocca's i knew people working in their seats next to the setaside like the second row for most of the game and it really care about the seating arrangements that day is live too much vitriol directed other places nobody ever case but seating arrangements let's get to livens ryan's lands ravens i think we're voting this concern not that interesting regale richest has a lot of important implications the ravens are just gonna make the playoffs with games to spare it seems like that's kind of why the schemes interesting i want to talk about is that's where we're headed if the ravens win this week all the excitement we have about the chargers and everything else is starts to get a little dyer the ravens in the playoffs certain area like we're looking at it and i don't like it no one coming to save us from the joe flaco playoff game.

"Three middle of the road in efficiency but the last couple of games they've had be rushing performances code fuel them they'd 170 to against the rams that's true shelly won that game so the vikings even when the running games not rolling they use it because the number one thing they want to do which i wrote about on the record i comment saturday is used by action no one as you please pleasure more than keen on this year and i think that that's a huge deal so whether the falcons his slow team down this is going to try to run the ball is going to go a long way in trying to shut down the plastic pass near you know it's interesting to me juicy individual mashups pff does little breakdown of of the sort of games within the game every week and i was fascinated with a couple of these things yes digs first true fought dad that's a great match up others their sacrifice sticks to him and let you in work against alford which i think it added i exactly and then the un i mean i i would imagine theo and has an a nice game on sunday belbin pike s they assu verse newman i mean it's just i am i'm intrigued by suit i i'm really excited by this game and more excited and i have been for it for a game in the last couple of weeks because it's really it's can tell us a lot about the nfc playoff picture do we need to worry about the falcons we'd lubaton last couple of weeks who what team scares is because there's so many incomplete teams that a lot of these teams have to be judged on on what they do well and with the falcons do we have to does a team like new orleans or minnesota or carolina have to worry about playing this team in the playoffs and as i think we're and find a lot about that on it and i think the answer is yes i think the right now they're looking like that team and yes this week will go along way in hanoi determining that for shore in solidifying it but now we're getting to a place where the falcons are one game back of the saints and the panthers in the nfc south and the falcons play the saints twice could you imagine if people have to go.

"Things have the best creative pressure packages in the nfl and i'm i like seeing those sort of dishes a as the football observer lysine those sorta mashups were the falcons have so many all weapons in it's it's pretty hard to attack them and to see what might zimmer's going to do this pressure wise against the falcons is very fascinating to me i agree in it's actually something that i wanted to talk about coming into this because they think it's been one of the main differences for atlanta as their office has kind of founded stride here over the first nine games matt ryan was pressuring thirty two point nine percent of his dropped deaths press three weeks twenty seven point seven bones of significant drop by percent of his overall passing place he was sex twice in the past three games the average of one point seven five sacks allowed in the first eight games so he's been getting more time i think that is a big deal against tampa that's easy to do because you're not really dealing with much in the past rush department as you haven't embiid for the past twenty years against minnesota it's a different kind of animal so the fact that you're dealing with everson griffin i mean that's just one of those things that he's playing as well as any right defensive end in the league so now it's not a matter of were smoothie sit back there and brunner often slavery wants to it's going to be a little more rush than it would be the past couple of weeks even seattle's defense wind isn't playing like this vikings one and so that's something to watch i mean if they can gets a ryan that's when they struggled early in the year member that buffalo game you seem like there is someone in his lap on every single play and that's going to go a long way in kind of turning this falcons offense into the woman saw early in the year and not what we've seen for the past month i just can't believe adrian claiborne riley reef is a is a big match up here like if you told me this weeks ago ability excuse me and the.

"Isn't it cold like september yeah but it's gets colder you know again i didn't knows december i'd thanksgiving bleeds in december very quickly for me i guess so here we are december first let's do it all right so we got a lot to cover today first of all i mean the cowboys redskins game last night we can pretty much finish off the redskins for the rest of the year they're done the cowboys i mean first of all did you of alford morris al lasting rg three to any point in the last five years probably not although alford morris always had that game where it just seemed like he was going too slowly like go along for a decade he has never athletic years just like you know i'm decent at this i remember his rookie or some of the guys who play against him were saying he sort of i don't want to this is the wrong phrase dummies anyway he sort of waddle's yeah he was disappointed it's hard to tackle him yeah yeah very high in style we talk about like you know games the translate to old age like you know allen iverson russell westbook the this sort of athletic point guards those don't necessarily uh translator tube success throughout your your 30s having said that literally waddling is ah is ooos away to last pasture contract you also helps when the other team has no offensive lineman anymore and you're getting fumbles and interceptions left and right off tip passes when dez bryant as the one thing does bryant as well now which is just leap over someone in red zone and catch touchdown pass i kinda like to because we were burying does broke the news cycle the last two weeks was dez bryant should like i it saw 530 headline that they should just ignored dez bryant dax should ignore desperate that's where you throw the balls does brian rise down there and that's an jerry jones said an oath he saw that he said that's how you get the border dez bryant he's decent at that in that area of the field he can do some damage yeah i dunno i i'm not sure that this game if you feel that much better about dallas as things that washington was kind of a mass i mean the amount turnovers they had early that causes actually pretty good i mean i know.
