"Pretty hot pretty consistently right. That's what i was gonna say. I bet that we can just pretty warm. Before we talk about the registration for wine and dine what was kind of reaction lake of renting community. When these in-person races came back in the the announced it happening so quickly. I mean i think mostly just excited i mean. This was the announcement that we're hoping and waiting for you know all the races coming back. Everything in person and they still kept. The virtual options really. Can't be too upset about it. It's kind of best of both worlds there but yeah i think everyone's just excited to get back out there. I know we are. Let's talk about registration for wine and time. It was a lot of trepidation the night before like on facebook some of the communities the red desert community facebook groups that i'm part of as far as being able to slot. What was it like registering for this year. Did anything sell out right away and kind of what was your experience. We were definitely a little bit worried especially kind of coming up that week before on. I think the general vibe was. Everyone's like oh. This is going to sell out right away. Y'all got you have to be ready. You have to be there and it ended up being kind of the opposite. So the ten k itself did sell out probably about two to three hours after registration opened however as of now which is what two days later her one day later the five case still open the half is still open and the two course challenges. Still open in chris. You're surprised about that. That the five Outright because every year the five k. Goes the fastest. In one of the reasons why i think it goes so fast is because it's the most accessible race. They don't even ask for proof of time on that race. It's just sort of like the five ten k. Both sell out almost instantly. It seems like at least they have in the past and again. I think it's because i three mile. Six mile race is just more accessible. So the ten k is sold out it from what i understand right lake so it. It's really just for whatever reason the five k. Is a hold out this year in terms of selling out. And i'm not sure why it surprises me. Well me chip on this topic before we move before it slipped my mind. They did make some changes to our. There's did they actually make these changes like as far as timing goes for. I know coming up for marathon weekend. Running the half's was at the scene for wine and dine as far as placement in the corral. Like you need under two hours in that half possibly get a curl placement. Yes the proof of time did change. My understanding is that it changed to two hours. Anything you don't you don't have to give a proof of time for anything past two hours which really shocked a lot of people in probably disappointed some people because i think you used to be able to give a perfect time up to two hours in thirty minutes or is it two hours and forty-five even it was to forty five. I think it was last year. Went down to two thirty and now they have cut off the two hours. Some speculation with that is that they're just cutting down. What corrales are going to have. Those proof of time starts so potentially probably only like a b and c and some of that may have to do with the club run disney having their preferred. Chorale will probably see that. Go in right after kind of these earlier proof of times now for those of you don't know club run. Disney is sort of like. I don't really know what the tangible benefits are beyond at the highest level. You'll get a jacket. That's kinda cool like members jacket and you get advanced corral placement and you also get guaranteed entry in half marathon or above distances for every race weekend so if you were like lake and you did all of these races on you lived close enough to do them all. I could see there maybe being a benefit but it seems like an awfully expensive up charge that most people probably wouldn't be able to make use of all the benefits but i don't know that's my thought you pretty mentioned nailed it on the head there with what you get with it. There are two different levels. I don't quite remember the difference. They are very expensive. I believe the highest one is like well over three hundred dollars. One of their perky. Do get with it with. It is a There's some sort of like prepackaged pickup like lounge in pre shopping experience. You get before. The actual expo opens but other than that. We said it was very expensive. And also you cannot currently by if that's something that you were looking for they are not actively selling it at the time and i think you get real cheese when you finish the race rather the fake chains if your club diesel ever people would well any any thoughts few or have you heard anything as far as numbers of people that they are allowing indies races. Obviously it didn't sell out. I think we speculated the speculation about that. We'll talk about that just a second but have you heard anything as far as like number watts. They have not said anything about the numbers. They do currently have a page on the run disney website. Kind of saying this is what our cova a precautions are going to be that page currently basically just says hey there might be some changes things like character interactions of whatnot which is to be expected. Because they're not currently doing character meet and greets the way they would before you may see some sort of distance exchange which i think would still be okay for run disney otherwise the page basically just says check back as of now especially with all these events still being open and available to register four. I'm not seeing a reason why we wouldn't expect similar numbers currently. Yeah that makes sense. It's interesting because right now in california and disneyworld there it's not really cova protocols that are causing them to have to like limit capacity to spaces and places it's staffing. They don't have enough people to open every location in run every location at full capacity. And so i would be surprised if it was crowd levels. That would cause them to to. Not you know max out capacity for it for the run disney events in my mind the thing that would cause that as maybe projections for how many members takes and what the infrastructure can handle right now given all hands are on deck for the fifty s so some speculations as to why bind didn't sell out right away i at some pretty host. What are you kenny. Hearing from the running community. I mean that i big reason we talked about. Our rooms are pretty scarce right now. I haven't looked at anything off property just because that's not usually my vibe. If you can't get a room in your someone who said on staying on property that's going to be kind of a big killer for you to us weren't expecting wine and dine to happen or be in person though. This registration was really kinda sprung on us. If you weren't ready for that there's probably a lot of people who said now. I'll pass and again we're talking about potentially not having any sort of crowd limitations right now that's true. There may be a lot of people who may just not comfortable people with the.

And it dead again and we got a not so mets weekend to talk about yankees couple of walk off so we got it all for you. Good morning boomer. You good morning. The yanks had a seven and two home stand and you know on the same day that india's gets a five out saves giancarlo stanton gets the game when he hit. Look at that. It's pretty special right there. Guys that have been in the crosshairs of the local fan bases but have improved significantly over the last year and a half and i it was great because it almost happened at the same time was simultaneous going back and forth trying to figure all that stuff out. Mets have now won five in a row the yankees had that seventy-two homestand. They've won two in a row. The rangers won their final game up in boston. That was unexpected. The isles close out a win. The right your regular season win at the sale last one last winning going on here and this is up and the reason that it is a milkshake. Monday is because of what happened. Adam sandler at the manhasset. I hop now. You know i live in manhasset right. Do some time there. Many and there is. There are literally about twenty six restaurants between shelter. Rock road and glen cove there. How long visit maybe three miles six restaurants. I was just thinking about to see that. I know we're gonna talk about sports today. But i had to get this off my chest. Okay atom basically wanted to hop in the young lady said. Hey you know you have to leave. And then he made a big thing about milkshakes and a buffet and the milkshakes with the buffet when in actuality this up in manhasset was very very crowded. Now i've been to this high hop you have and it has to be one of the nicest i hops in the chain really but if you don't know where it is you drive past it and the only reason that i've been in this ihop is because it's right next to the fairchild funeral home so i usually use it for like a pre wake or post cup of coffee pancakes. Maybe some you like going to funerals of people you don't even know he showed up there. I usually if i would go from the fairchild funeral home right across the parking lot and maybe go in there and get some pancakes or whatever. So i have been in this ihop and it's a very nice. I okay so you know. Adam sandler last week goes in there. Nice young lady behind the counter. Says we're full. You have to leave and then it becomes a whole thing of course and now i hop is offering today milkshake mondays..

Yeah yeah but one of the things actually talked about 'cause therapy this morning and landed on my birthday which is very nice. No but i had talked about how like the marathon thing by the way. What i'm about to say is hilarious and ironic. But i i'm not gonna be like posting about me doing it or like you know what i mean. I could smell the irony from here right. The reason why. I'm saying that it's because we're i mean we're just having this conversation podcast but like every day like i go out and do a run. I'm not going to be like shrimp three miles. Six miles do it. Yeah just do it. You gotta do stuff for today. Twenty nine is me i. that's right. Baby confused me to lovely movement also necessary but me i guess is in your twenty ninth year of age. So what he's going to run back and forth brooklyn's huge. It's not as big as queens. That also huge decrease bigger yet. But like brooklyn's fucking long. It's like a four and a half mile loop so you run like three times only god. That sounds awful. Yeah it doesn't sound cool. But like you know an and during the pandemic when i was like super board i was running all the time os able to run eight miles in one shot. I felt fine. Yeah i i actually ran it at the track. Damn i was just running around the track. I remember when you're talking about what we all had that that What was the app called the running app travel. Yeah because i was. I was running to and i was getting maybe a mile and a half in baby but i yeah you you were fucking crushing runs with friends which is stupid. No i never ran with anyone. Oh that was pete. I can't run with other people. Because i have to like i. Don't i just feel weird. But i just wanna get into like really good shape and and like mentally be able to sign up for something and be like yo you have to do it like originally when i was one and a half marathon to myself like a couple of days ago. I was like train for it. Because there's a program that you follow. I found a program that likes. Is it like one day. You run two point two miles without stopping then. Two point four the next day or yeah i mean. It's not like without stopping. I mean it's assumed that it's not stopping but it's like you'll have it will show you like today's arrest and like okay. Run three miles year three miles a year and then six miles. I should get one of those competitive eating. Because i eat a lot. Yeah that'd be fire. W and a half marathon. I'm doing the fucking nathan's hotdog contest. Fucking cool that would be enough for you for me. It wouldn't be my colon. It would suck all for your colon. It would actually below colombo. Yeah i put. That's what we should. Maybe one of should do a food contest. An eating contest. I'm not good at that at all. I saw one that. I think i would actually do. They did like a hot pepper eating contest. It's like you eat peppers like one after another. And it's like whoever bows out last winds that one i would do that psychotic. Why not did the lynch yet. But i'm just eating mad peppers. Why not good for you from the earth. Can't bet for you. I'm sure that if you put enough spices in that stomach it will start to creep up and start throwing no. I don't i don't throw up. Maybe i don't throw acid reflux. I don't have that not yet. I hope i a thousand peppers yet and what. You're not wrong exactly. you're not wrong. But that's what's going to happen birthday boy. I'll see you getting a lot of greats in your twenty eighth year life. you've got a lot of grays. no top maybe you got your weekly fade. "A monday afternoon. We're leaving it a bit late. I just got off work and there is a state campground about twenty twenty five miles away. There are multiple ways to get there. We are taking the longer but less treacherous route. There's a potential route that goes through bog. Which as any bog maybe could be very wet and maybe not cross -able by bike so we are taking the longer route going north through cabinet and then down through groton state forest to ripon. We actually rented a lean tonight. I'm sitting outside looking at our bikes. We have two beautiful specialized bikes and despite having such nice bicycles. And we have some fantastic bags. That i just got from. Our bikes are looking more prepared than probably we are. My wife and i have done a lot of camping. I guess So we have quite a bit of camping gear although we have learned that bike packing gears oftentimes very different than camping gear. So we have one between s we have one sleeping pad and we both have down sleeping bags. But they're a bit heavier duty and actually a little bit too big for our our bike bags so we have gone with one fleece Sleeping bag liner. And i have a towel like a quick dry towel that i will use a blanket tonight. We both packed some spare socks some long johns jacket a thin rain jacket and yeah we are Well i'm i've been really excited for this and my wife was less so until last evening because today is workday. We figured we should try to pack up as much as we could on sunday evening And once we started packing my wife got very excited. I think just the fact that it also became a challenge to fit. All your stuff into these bags really made us decide what we actually wanted to bring and what we don't wanna bring like. I said we have a lot of camping gear but not all the stuff that maybe a a an experienced bike packer. What have we are bringing our own food for the night since it is a state park. There's no restaurants in the area but there is a fire pit at the at the lean to that we're renting So for those of you in the uk actually who do not know what a lean to is. It is a center three walled cabin. So it's like a structure that most often is used in the summertime when you're protected from the elements above but you're not protected from i. Guess the cold but it's a nice day here. It's maybe eighty degrees. I dunno to twenty eight twenty nine degrees celsius. So it's beautiful My wife and i little fanny pack. I'm gonna throw on them. We're gonna put in some some chicken sausages that we can cook over the fire. We brought some matches and we brought probably something that we didn't need to bring but we brought anyways would be our s'mores we brought about Laughing we brought each a chocolate bar half a bag of marshmallow and whole pack of graham crackers so definitely easier to pack coming out tomorrow. Make sure you deliver food so we have more more space. Were about twenty. Thirty minutes from Departure we've gotta get our clothes on through a few last things in our bags and then we're off all righty so we made it One point three miles six minutes from our house and.

"Kids. I shouldn't say every kid but then he young boys probably go through a jordan. The army's like something that they think would be really really cool thing. Mind resisted in the last a little bit longer. But then i had the opportunity. Go play football in college and decided to do that. Instead you know going to plan in the nfl sounds like a lot more fun than an army turns out pretty terrible football players in the nfl so when people ask you. How'd you end up in the region as well i. i didn't end up with the green bay packers. on in fact it really wasn't close but ultimately would start. Lead me on the path adjoining after my after senior year in college So you joined as an enlisted guy with a college degree What was that choice about. In fact is something. I've thought a lot about because over sixty percent of seal trainees have the college degree or even more some some have masters and there's this real lower in the spec ops community to be enlisted because that's you know you get the bang the doors down and he gets to be an operator for much longer period times much closer to the truth whereas the officer path they kind of we knew away from that you know after five to six years. Yeah yeah it was. Are there were a couple of reasons. I ended up listed. One was that door kicker. Desire when you're twenty two years old and you're you know in my case joining the military you have kind of this you know foolish bravado of oh i wanna be i wanna lead men in combat i wanna know. Be at their point of friction. I mean you know careful what you wish will right right mama. The second thing was i explored going the officer out the year. You'll get a kick out of this. You know i played football. I played offensive tackle at the university of wisconsin. Going off. it's blind program. The country was big dude. Our some six foot six. I played it two hundred and ninety five pounds. No kidding yeah yeah and still Why i contacted nosso officer selection officer within weeks of my last game and showed up. Maybe i'd lost. Maybe i was waiting to eighty five in this guy. Looks me up and down. You know marine corps officers are fit and trim right us you know. How can you do like. I don't know seven or eight wine. Mike all right well. Hey bro i'll get there. You know two three mile. Time avenue run three miles six years. My forty yard dashes and then he asked probably the most important question years. You know jeb. Have you had any insurance. And i i you know. My career was plagued with injuries. I had my foot reconstructed. I had my shoulder reconstructed and When i heard that he was man. Kid you're you're a lot of people work. This was two thousand five. There's no shortage of people who are trying to join. you know. it's easy recruiting at that point in time. So he he more or less never called me back no kidding. He wasn't willing to put in work. Yeah yeah exactly. And so you know i I walked into marin kruger's offsets give me an infantry contract and we'll get like. I lost my mind that's awesome. That's awesome and the this aside didn't care so much about the injuries and we still had to go through maps and get cleared of all. They cared but they had their numbers to make right. So i was waiting at the eleventh hour and maps on the thirtieth of the month and literally near midnight to get a waiver from the pentagon from From naval headquarters for it Came through the eleventh hour. And i had to get my college coaches had to submit letters on my behalf. Like my you know my trainers had to submit letters on my behalf with regard to like my injuries. You know what i was able to do. Most people would be surprised to hear that you know college graduate. Varsity football player has to really struggle to get in the military. So i think military will just take anyone off the streets including camp. I'm sitting next to lance court schmuck atelli. I'm like you were given yards kit in exactly right so by the time we got the boot camp. Had you cut weight and improved your pull ups and you know you. I would say i lost. I probably lost forty pounds in forty days and Probably down to fifty. And then i went to boot camp at about two thirty and i tell people my my my wife laughs at me. Because she didn't see it looked like rob gronkowski but now into poo camp. Because i i had all that muscle from plano lines still and all that that excess fat off and i don't look that good anymore. That's why ain't doing burgis with you. Roger that it takes a lot of effort to maintain that kind of muscle mass unless it's your natural state. Yeah yeah so. Tell us about what. It's like to lead as a sergeant in the us marine corps. What were some of the big lessons ozzy you had that have. Maybe even help guide you today as leader. And that's by the way so people don't know that's one of the key positions in the marine corps and also in the army but especially the marine garment as sergeant pretty much runs the shit. You know what. I mean at the ground level of the troops right. Yeah yeah you know i. It's such a. It's such a hard question. You know. Because i i want so much about leadership when i was in i tell people i mean what a what a you know a crucible of leadership and often when i when i answer that question for people i when i think back to my first tour which is in iraq and i was leading infantry squad during the surge in two thousand seven at the height of the.

Terrorism expert Neil Livingston says that's a weak argument and think Tsarnaev deserves the death penalty. I believe that might have given some of the victims families. Form seconds to payment simply the vets on his last two starts and I think the rough and tumble isn't going to be issued to him. I think he's a bowl jumping horse. It can be written not trouble and I really like him. Shannon won this race with a horse called Mr Whittaker in two thousand eighteen funny enough. He's a horse in the same colors. This year called hold the note progressive. Travel WELL WHEN? Second Worcester Warrick Behind it could stay in in Tufa for gold. He's got similar profiles. Used last week that champagne classic would not be lining in this race. He picked up a knock. Does that just mean that Kathy selected for Willie Mullins is going to mop up? Look you've got to respect connections and the fact that this has been the plan all along. I do worry a little about carefully selected and a Plaza Wade he can take and treats expenses and I think in a big field real ends when Gallup. It's going to put a lot of pressure on him and his jumping. I think it's I think it's a huge statement of intent the Willie Mornings from this whole ten days after his before just again qualified because I was limited opportunities. The weather wasn't going anyone's in anyone's favor so he didn't even know that he could rely on the fixtures to be still on the run in the grade three at niece e didn't jump very well but he got the job done and I think the extra step up in trip the intent For Them Willie Mullins camp and Patrick seems to be loving him at the moment And Terminator Budget. Andrew got a different opinion. Or you firmly. Kathy selected I wouldn't say I'm firmly re carefully selected but he probably would be more picking this race. I don't know a lot of things going for me at a nice way of jumping for a race like this. He's not an overly extravagant jumper Bush. Anyway he's gone and and also I didn't didn't win the look of Domino Tower for Oliver Sherwood's look needed a trip pose. The two of them are both gone. And I suppose the only worry for carefully selected in my always as copperheads whether he actually goes to this race or Nash. I think it's difficult. Because he's obviously he's shortened. Because of the absence of champagne classic but on firmly thinking connections are going to take into the say. Well I'd like to see him in the essay. I'm sure we'll we'll we'll talk about both I'd say also Tis artist probably people are Jaime Cardinal. Can store saying can we guess copperhead to run in the national JAS air because he was very impressive? Obviously in the Reynolds stand I would just be Which already here. I think Cathy selectors jumping is a little bit of a concern for big field. A lot of fences to jump Cheltenham and they're stiff fences as well So at the moment I'd be probably always leaving the race to to watch. I think you make a good point Ray Jamie Jamie. It does pay to see what these lead guys and girls are going to ride in the race because that is a major factor for me to the gold call was beaten by copperhead lost. I wouldn't be from me. Don't think so. Should we hear from? Patrick? That's ask for the majority of the season. Patrick you've earmarked carefully selected as being your horse for the National Hunt Chase. I suppose he didn't maybe jump as well as ECONET nays last time. I think he has a brilliant chance going into this race. A huge chance. He's a horse but an awful lot of ability and he's an old fashioned looking horse you buy him at the saves He's a dinosaur head. No He's He's he's quite You know I have. Fashioned was got an awful lot of ability. He's not slow secondhand champion bumper. He did bounce out. Mimic ALL. Probably flavorings at the gate. I wanted to sit handy. But he's not slow and Yeah he's jumping was made by mistake there in nascent. He made a mistake. Second last in fairyhouse. I what what I like is that he showed a bit of a survival instinct. You Know He. He survived a mistake on late. Say Champ who made a mistake and troops Hafner ground So I'd like thus and I like the fact that he's made a mistake and should have learned to miss. You know we know use if he'd gone round they're confronting a couple of smaller funeral racist. I never made a mistake. So that's the way I'm looking at it. I'm looking at US positive in here. I get what you're saying about the fact that he survived and you and you want to see a host to show willingness to stand up really but is it. Is It a concern. The back of your mind at all the fact that has made the autumn the odd mistake in what probably like to be a big field and a good gallop on and have you done anything at home. The tweet that it's all or not. Yeah we listen the back of your mind but I think before I would not have been fed off of an episode before. So you know it's not I mean it's office chased so these two points He's he's run traces. No school this week. don't know. I mean I. I'm happy I'm writing one of the best horse in the race. Great to hear from Patrick. Obviously that's twice a Jam. Packed episode thoroughly enjoyed it. Join US TOMORROW. For the Wednesday episode. Join US Thursday for Thursdays and Fridays. For Friday's it's that simple. We do you enjoyed if you did. Make sure we share it Let people know about it and we thoroughly enjoy hearing your comments on twitter..

"Off you've listened to racing riot what head over to the racing post huge huge almost the latest episode of washout with racing legend an eight time champion jockey peter scooter more welcome to the thirteenth episode of the racing brought podcast with me joshua stacey and co host charlie poster you all charlie i'm very good night yeah really good busy weekend flat-out sales racing the point on sunday loads going on trips to london back in london and then again today but yeah surviving on coffee and fumes alone i really enjoyed you on racing debate the other day but we this becomes your fortnightly horse racing fix full of debate fun and opinions regarding racing's hottest topics today on the show it's a cracker i'm delighted to say that we'll be speaking cleeve hurdle winning rider aiding coleman and we'll be talking all things paisley park ahead of cheltenham law saturday the racing was treated to some classic action park as it was cheltenham trials day and this meeting usually chalked up a good amount festival winners so both myself charlie and aden we're trying to dissect each race to highlight those horses that could be victorious at cheltenham in march and then we will rewind to last thursday feisty day at gowrie park and a certain benny dees you made her seasonal reappearance in the three mile galway a hurdle and she romped home will ask aidan coleman what he thinks ahead of a potential clash with benny in the stairs but first let's speak to the man the myth the legend legend andrew blair white about the big performances over the irish sea and what they could mean for the big spring festivals including stubborn racing festival this weekend which i'm buzzing to go to to last year for the first time and i just fell in love with leopardstown i can't wait to go back so andrew how're you doing a very good josh how're you i'm not too bad let's get straight into the main talking points over in ireland this past four night going back to turn us last sunday there was a few races races at the horse and jockey club race between real steel and full odd also mayors novels jas between ellie mae cult mostert also i have midweek al gore on thursday chase day the race that stops the county down in gore on the gal moi hurdle legal seeing the return of benny deger the gal hurdle really a grade one in all but name this year with the likes of any jew apples j. tannehill c-a-l-l-s-a-s tawfik and also the jason self run suitably in low fog it seems every year the fog most come by for SDS jay willie mullins has had a very good record in the race recently on that continued this year this weekend on saturday those very good mayors novels hurdle deal with potential clues for the dole an- run mares novice at the gentleman festival highlights manila melody jal cheeser yukon lil and call review all in that lineup and then just yesterday the limestone lad hurdle featuring stormy ireland on frank poor alongside novice chase which included national hunt chase prospect carefully selected the very good week and a half of action in the irish national calendar under brilliant i think the there's no better place to start with benny desert in the gilmore heard because she absolutely romped home and i thought it was very impressive do you think willie may be tempted to have a crack at the stairs and take home pay the park and they were going to speak to aiding cohen about that later but just think he'd be tempted i'm not so sure whether he'll end up being swayed at i personally think she should run in the stairs hurdle i think it will take tako fantastic performance from paisley park to give benny jerusalem thinks she's a superb mayor and it was also very telling that really mullen mullen said mid week this is potentially the best mary's ever trained when you think of the likes that cova any power this must be a serious serious serious mayor i remember going over to france last year they over in france they didn't think debunk core could ever be base and she went over there on beazer by six lens in the galilee on thursday beating panhandle twenty one lend spill vic turzii eight lens it was just an opposite stunning astounding performance it would be my impression that if this or if any to do was to turn up in the stairs ertl she would win i don't think any horse i didn't give this mayor seven pans over three months not even paisley part though i mean we have no idea about how how much more paisley park has together yeah the main he literally does the bam disney eidos but also we don't really know how good a mayor of any jew is because unfortunately we don't see all right right perhaps as much as we would like to but she's such untapped ability and that run over in france at the end of last year just went to show that and i think if it was three miles on seoul grams on the thursday i think it'd be a fascinating mac job as the two of them would go twenty turzii lens glare ear and i think that saw better what about two miles on soft ground at cheltenham champion hurdle bid someone mentioned that to me over the weekend yes i'm not sure it's never been mentioned i've from the convoy supposed they obviously see her as being more of a staying tally so the two and a half miles in three miles or help seems to be the favourite option to be honest she is vast gorge that i think she would have johnson jumping especially at jumping that we're seeing this effect that's a fair argument to say right now the champion hurdle is actually weaken the measure on the stairs yes definitely definitely especially if honeysuckle will still ruined the mayor's instead of john convertible i've you don't know where they're going to go with those to dine the join the champion at the moment does not look particularly strong race i don't take benadryl will turn up in that race though unfortunately another interesting willie mullins he was super impressive over the weekend was stormy island she run over shorter distance on sunday and under this is hypothetically speaking thing but if honeysuckle was to be rooted rerouted to the champion hurdle would stormy on be good enough to win the maze as hand the opportunity to willie to send benny to the status i think she would have a very good chance she's been a very likable mayor over the last year or two on this year's ears i think she has progressed her own at yesterday in the limestone lad hurdle was probably a career best in a lot of respects the limestone lives was one last year boy s bar island it went on obviously to win the champion hurdle so it's not a bad race in any means i don't don't tank don't really would leave her to be her his number one option for the mayors are the one i would be keen on given what's happened over fences for is him swinging lorena back to ruin in the mayor's this makes a lot of sense i'm not sure l. as in the air but again honeysuckle is kind of the game changer for all of this isn't it because like stormy on that earning see which way honeysuckle goes honey so who goes for the mas- huddle title strong words jolly strong words yeah like you said on on arita think she's she she probably go back ever heard law or stick with fences she's he's gone entering the city is a sandown today i'm not sure i just didn't think she'd taken defenses as much as some people wants to make games i told james a bit sketchy even when winning her beginners and i know she broke both vessels last lapid sam but i was stunned at the last ask fence outlet bridgestone which is also the first fence in the two mile race and she was beaten after jumping the first fence now if she's broken a blood vessel in the woman furlong james the first sense than faranoff when she was beaten after that first fence though i just don't think fences are for on there for a crack at it could be the best option question mark question he did cheap because she's frightened by jumping fences i'm not sure we're just don't question each alley you'd know more about nothing under which isn't there's no doubt with if a horse is tense or is like put put off by something then that can create bursts of blood vessel it's created by pressure you know and so if she doesn't enjoy jumping fences than and there is an argument to say that maybe that has caused it let's pure speculation on my part but if we're going along with what under saying that he feels she doesn't enjoy offenses and you're combining that with a burst blood vessel which could be because she was under the weather or anything like that but there is a small fact too that could say if she finds jumping fences overly strenuous and it's putting undue pressure on a physically or mentally the echoes up andrew still she made a horrible looking efforts over fences off leopard stand the first couple of fences she didn't make a great shape but all and and she was beaten very early on which would would indicate that perhaps maybe watch already saying is correct there another horse that you mentioned earlier that was big mullins on sunday kathy selected now he had to finish it i think in the first three in three months of his chase over an island to qualify for the national hundred four miles usually known i'm gonna quit the three mile six expelling racist today would you be siding with him all champagne classic in the four mile exits and others question marks how impressive cathy said i wasn't yeah i told you may very hard work of it yesterday beating horse go four is on the lam by four lanes but also as spyglass hill was upsides to and now i would have said casualties that would've battled to beat spyglass hill spyglass has only raised one hundred twenty eight over hurdles and it's no for three we over fences so it's not exactly top form in the book and this is what really icons understand commoners on how you look at a race like dash josh i'm bookmakers of coche carefully selected from sixes into forbes across the board the national chase of it was i told his his worst performance over fences on sunday i wouldn't rule improvement for me jump jumping classic is the better off done he's got not very good form with a horse like gis kerama a beat him with his head and his chest stein at wexford earlier this year before finishing a length behind battle over doyen in the grave on at mavericks dan over christmas he's got a very likable way of going about things he's not an extravagant jumper goes in deep we can pop does it nicely obviously when you look back at his grade one winning novels hurdle on at lunches time he beat pen hill monir lee album folks oh on presenting percy now i don't take as many horses that will ever line in a national chase that will have a forum line are you convinced me already on a big fan champagne cussing i don't think i think he's the one to be in the national home jason dusing the bookies just going back to the betting element though he shortened up because he's actually qualified for the race as now caffeine select is in short because he's now qualified i'm patrick mullins just come out and said he's the one he wants to ride in the race and he's trained by willie mullins like it wouldn't be the first time something looked fairly lethargic on its run prep from before cheltenham turned up the cheltenham a different animal trained by this operation we'll funny enough a horse slightly the last time when trained by willie mullins was shocking postwar when he was beaten by plutarch leopardstown.

"Of years off your goal has been chasing mainly kind looks to hate the game. Jet Has been coming off the back of the fall over fences Franklin deport with fung. The last day stepped up in grays raise on big blue's coming from Australia. So just keep it simple and things to do what you just said what price you think. I'd be surprised as if she's not odds-on I said I haven't priced about property. I'd be surprised if she smashed or SPI. Okay did you go on with the boy says Ajay completely late agree. I think stormy islands the obvious one son places the one. I'm most looking forward to seeing. I think had an argument with Dj back in the day whether he should be going champion. Hurdle of stay as we by the way was very good and weren't sure which way you'd go. Maybe the twenty nine th twenty twenty launched on land was the target all along. It wouldn't pass them the right to ten nights. It's the Nice racecourse business club novice chase. I would three miles and one of the Cheltenham Festival. Favorites runs carefully selected selected. Who is the for what we used to call the four mile but we now call the three mile six furlong up against ellwood foresman Ronald Pumps schmo foam spyglass hill? Frank anything that's a caffey carefully selected hit. What Rodman going right this year? I obviously was leans factors Uri and the trend more he'd be maybe a small danger up. I think the danger is the fences for carefree. I think anyone who's longing for the national hunt chase. We're just want him to get around. The first four qualifies and have no messing I noise and the other one injury but with the new conditions of the race he needs to finish the first four for over a trip of two months seven I think are further qualify. I'm once he does fast. I'd be full steam ahead for the National Chase. I think can take a beating not just on Sunday post in that racism. Just tell us what's going on because flames POPs up in entries for that as well as what's going on here. Yeah see this is this is. This is really interesting because obviously the the conditions for the National Hunt Change this change and I think this is a screaming being loud and clear day fanciers national on Jay's because to a couple of days ago and win a race and then to be entered in a great tree straight eight away after and I think what they're doing basically is encased. This horse has happened mistake on seats. Ponant it's obviously not qualified for the race and there's a rate there's only one more chance after that and that's ten but navin so urinate options for dis raises over two months especially when you WANNA beginner interstates. There's no water options so he's only got this race in the race at Navan so he literally had to come here and then obviously build them up for Cheltenham Yeah. He's going to take a lot of beaten with rain. I think think funny is going to ruin in their flow gas as Atlanta percent. Maximum does to modify. Obviously that means he wouldn't be qualified for the race. A chat on the national hunt chase. But I think he's going to go from novice. Chat limped spoke to Patrick during the week and that was the way he was talking. That would go for rates percent on that carefully selected would run here and he. He can't wait to write this arts and the national hunt chase. Okay Jimmy what. You might carefully selected win this and then potentially GonNa win at Cheltenham. Yeah absolutely that would be the one of the moment when it doesn't look like there's anything else you'd be worried about. Okay jolly good. Thank you very much indeed chaps. We're back on Monday to review the action. We've got football on Thursday and then we're back next Friday looking ahead so I really really special weekend. Is the Dublin Racing Festival two days of absolutely superb action and we will have all the tips and all the best bet for that so hopefully you can join us for that. In the meantime have a good weekend bet responsibly. And thanks.

"Talking when syndicates get bigger syndicate should be used the definition used up to twenty or you know bus with risks century quite a lot of people by them was as presents for friends you know people who they know are a Saturday afternoon and what's the so you be but don't go racing well for fifty quid they could be part of this racing well that'd be nice presents but they're never gonna find who else is available rory because most of our listeners will be aware of this by now Willie mullins has spoken about it and spoken about it to the racing post who the story haven't been given the documents by the HR I he has said that he has not committed to running Kamboi in down royals big feature rate one hundred and fifty thousand euros which take place Saturday week he says that he does not want to be drawn into specific plans for the horses in general but he sounded a note of optimism that's matters could be resolved in a timely fashion it's an internal disputes to quote Willie mullins within bream racing which hopefully can be resolved over the next few days all horses in training are in good shape and are getting ready for the season with that club so far we haven't any interruptions and hopefully this will be resolved so that their training won't be interfered with and once again will you mullins has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with the ownership of these sources he just takes his fees but he doesn't have any understanding of the he's not in charge of of that club he's not in the ownership of last he does his job as the trainer the same as anybody else would so this puts him in a in a situation where he can only only common the same way that we can really but he sounds upbeat and let's stay let's hope we're talking about rogue elements within yes the fundamental doing the right thing yes on people who've been given I mean you see this in all all kinds of organizations people with with I'm a degree of responsibility can can go ru on can get ahold enthralling and stuff like that boss if they're able to you show this appreciation between the this indicated self on individual employees or members however you would describe that a chance they can make a move on of course there's always the possibility that people evolved into it will need to sell the horses in order to gets you know to get something box side of it as well as much earlier on it'd be better for everyone pills people who paid money in good faith on you know live the punchline will come as if you know they were the I for one of the biggest racist on the calendar if they could feel justification without embiid confirmed as as owners of the horns I'm rather than you just get some kind of recompense on how the mood on somebody else that'll be that'll be unsettled CIANCI so let's let's discuss them then in news of he will run let's hope that things get worked out whether he's running Richard She's colors jp scholars or as you said if they can rogue if they can uh-huh Figaro's the rogue elements sort the organization out get back on track and everything's fine then let's let's see but having read the documents in the race those things are not good but let's take the optimistic view that William Mullen says and the horse comes back as he rightly favored in your view for the Gulf coast no you're judging very much online forum yeah he's won the he's one of the Chris- jets at the correct title is is is not the the signs that lowered standards he's look the other symbols chest that's run by three days later on a different drive isn't it the Christmas chase or am I getting that wrong Christmas chases is the is neither working title this is very important for me that reassess house an identity that goes through history when you devise races and of course you need a half identity and it needs to be a simple one so that with changing sponsors you still have that with very good example not a racist never been wrong under its title effort the Baring Bingham Hurdle what the hell what the hell is the biggest hurdle is no it's the Helmet Kohl these days you've probably call the next in which is definitely not the ballymore the ballymore yeah it's been the summer lines hurdle the United States the ballymore and he's the Baring Bingham for lots of this the department of the race but it's never been Dash never it's never been cold but it does get a historic blink if you if you're ever rising risks talking about historically that's the title you give us doc what it is because there's nothing worse than simply having a sponsor stan no sponsor's name and a Gold Cup after it or Bloomberg's trophy is fine I'm old enough to remember recalled elaborate trophy at Newcastle what three miles six back in the seventies and eighties slightly confusing but yeah as long as it's called a title that marks it apart from from other races sponsored by the people that at least you can understand well not having permanent title is is important Nice of Lexus came back so nice if Lexus came back Selena with the idea that you consider the risk of the lexuses if it's some kind of a historic title is quite amusing rarely but yes the license yes the Patriots for Salmon Chase he's first thing we know we what what do you call that rhys it wasn't called the Christmas Gsa and it was just call the the the sponsor chance Yep and that's Laura you stick with sponsor that you remember from your time and that's the end of it where we're kind of getting off Mike we so he's he's he's one that he won the samples Chester business just he's won an oil he's won the the Christmas chase he's taking these able at Cheltenham he's bounceback spectacularly at injury and then beating the Gold Cup winner under Ruby at the Punchestown festival when sent off favorite but you have a slight doubt about stomach then is that it off line died about about whether he stands apart from as well stamina has to be in a slight died obviously at some we you know you he was racing beyond attached final accomplice starts we wonder where he won the and the bully injury over three mile one and a half old on a bunch of time so you clearly states how's well but yeah he didn't get very far the Gold Cup get rid of your writer the first friends is a little bit of a worry glorious I didn't run badly in the jail teams place there as well and normally in championship raise the festival you do wonder horse he's been on three times out the meaning he was he's he's wrong well enough twice he was leaving his son not far to the places in the in the barrier him again because it was it was an extra money around certainly more so as we have been there he was fixed or not even send forth in the jail t on the neon sainthood the first nickel cops saw you as being the three sheldon festivals. He's not he's never gone back to the winner's enclosure that's all straight guitry you closer to your fourth we would have after the after the the jail but yes to feel three times festival it's difficult to say you're you're justifiably Short price favourite for a Gold Cup but he's I aside concerns about him when he one percent at Christmas I thought that was a tremendous ride from David mullins because he pulled hard early on then he was held up Bingo Bingo much of a PS which didn't help them settle onto David took him to the side of the field and just let him sweet past the list without asking them to go on they ignored him as people often do with Super League White Hart as You saw on the Irish ledger the other day and is managed approach a big lead and held on and I thought at the time I thought well you can read this as a massively improved performance or you can read it as brilliant ride from the East wrist and I was inclined to look at the the second way but he has Dhabi spots up by winning it you know better still the punches time so in that respect you have to you have to give them full credit because he's won three all age great ones in one season braces it's lepers tyne the entry punches time so there's not much to knock but at the time you know he's Cheltenham Festival it does temperature so in terms of a bet then as it a case of that you were leaning towards Anthony yes okay yeah Santini if he went on for one of the great ones over three miles he if he went to the chance for example which she may well because Nikki's already got a horse for the King George he might think Sensini you know self describing the leopard sign I think he would probably find at least one two from their three miles I'd like to think he wouldn't I think it's fair to assume that he might come up short that boss over the border miles in a goal and hopefully softish Ron's not something go to bear in mind as well you know we've been a software more often than north of the festival few years but as more luck than judgement isn't it we move we must be chew a fast ride Cheltenham Festival which will play against on TV certainly but if it did come up in the Gold Cup much than at the price is giving us a bigger price album social war can boy let's say very briefly do you consider Delta work and Sensini that Orsay Chase Forum to be considerably ahead of the jail t no I thought it was I thought it was really fascinating reasonably strong contests but that doesn't mean to say that I thought the Chelsea was he was you could raise well site less steps to us but I thought it ended up being a being a really good battle with some need a very mild through the season with John Definitely Lost in translation on deputy soy transactions one Wanna see stepping off a trip to buy them suggests that he he wants it was three thousand four echo better I was given more of a test of stamina awesome what's jump as well as he really he really launched himself at his friend since we're as a daffy was was privy less chance debut to be on but God Bashar immediately entre Donlan on turned out to be quite clever jumper by the end of the season but again he's strong point is a turn of food at the end of races on adjacent jails it's solid on I think he might still underrated for the championships coming he's not gonna be about that but he famous fits the bill for the Ryanair doesn't they if you if you're foolish Orion our horse is over it has no qualms about running one on the Ryan because last winter yes reiner choice yet the right Aaron Alan King Soros looks he's orange yes UK's six Sandra again he wouldn't have been it wouldn't have been a Netherlands Daffy probably go there because he's not going to step up on Chevy Mike Championships forties for the goal companies they're not going as much stronger say you don't always see on Edina in recent as it can be a little bit one-sided or a side and it's a little bit workaday an ordinary was last year was a wrist and to really get excited about it because there were three horses that goes up to my eyeballs in Delta work I thought he was an absolute stone cold solid morrow it's interesting that lost in translation than beats up at the both Cheltenham on more than previous years didn't didn't really show up nine fire kind of force as I said.

"It. Which of course sounds like a bird in the northern regions of magical Canada. People always giggle in the hair. I think they expect something a little bit like lower tone brand gets cute and rumbling and intimidating and terrifying. So that is the sound of to bark holes colliding. Yeah, that is the final one. Fifth of a second of two black holes that have been orbiting each other for we don't know how long maybe a billion years we don't know, and it's it's it's again, like mallets on a drum. It rings space time, but only in the final one. Fifth of a second is loud enough to be detected by the LEGO machine. One point, three billion years later. It, which is like as much of your world is and physics just makes me feel like. Yeah. I mean the that level of precision that I mean, earth is rumbling. It's moving. It's almost unbelievable that that measurement could be made it as an this is why became so enamored of the experiment I'm theorist I sit with pen and paper, and I just work it out and math to have the gall in a way and the confidence to build something just strikes me as a mazing and to believe you're gonna beat down exactly. Hurricanes winds off the Gulf earthquakes in China flying overhead, the rum trucks driving by on the highway. All of these things womp swamp the signal. And so that's what the chief it really is about all that's beautiful. And I get why this is an important thing to prove, but like, okay, great. What's in it for us? You know, I have to tell you, we don't always. Have the language for what's in it for us. But I know that on that day on February eleventh, twenty sixteen when they announced the discovery, the whole world stopped literally the whole world stopped. I was interviewed for aljazeera TV. You know somebody interviewing me from Qatar and we're talking for a second about being under the same sky, and there's just something tremendous about the human desire to know and the insanity of doing an experiment like this and and the idea of learning about our place in the universe. And it should be something that's absolutely unifying if we're really lucky, it will be a lot like the advent of the telescope three hundred years ago really. So if you think about that, all we could look for things. We knew existed. Galileo was looking at the sunspots and the rings of Jupiter because he knew those things existed, but he didn't foresee galaxies and he didn't foresee black holes or quasars. He didn't foresee an expanding universe. All of this. Was was just the beginning and most of the universe actually is dark. So very, very small percentage of the universe is luminous gives us light for telescopes to collect interesting. So so we now have this new giant of three mile six mile telescope essentially that that listens instead of look. So it's like a recording device to lay the soundtrack down for the universe. When all we've had is kind of a silent movie and these series of frozen snapshots. So what would our our friend Einstein have thought of of this detection? One hundred years, something wise. Wise who, again was one of the original architects of the machine talks about. He says, he wishes he could show I and Stein this this discovery, and I think it would have been up -solutely remarkable to him. He never believed there would be any experiment ever in the future of humanity that could do this. I think it would be a lot of exciting aspects of consequences of his great idea coming together. Gentleman. Thank you so much. Could be here. Gentlewoman is an astrophysicist and the author of black hole blues. And that's it.
