Cheap TVs for under $300
"For under three hundred dollars. Now I'm Jefferson Graham Ula Santa talking. Tech. If you were to walk into a target best buy or some other big box retailer and you really can't miss them the rows of those large forty, three inch and fifty insets selling for two and a quarter to three hundred dollars. Four K. with built in Roku? SMART TD. Two hundred and twenty five dollars you gotta be kidding me. Well, the sets are usually made by TCL, which has three of the top five on Amazon's TV. Bestseller list or insignia, which is best buys house brand. It has the other two spots on the Amazon Chart, and again, both of them have four K. resolution built in smart TV streaming, and they can showcase programming and HDR which stands for high dynamic range producing brighter richer colors. The best buy sets answer to Alexa while the TCL sets will answer to Alexa or the Google Assistant. So what's the catch? It's minor and it's obvious. The picture quality is not as good as the mid range and more expensive TV's. But I would argue that most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Now if you're sitting right in front of the TV, it's going to look amazing if you're on the left or the right for the far. Away. To look good unless you spend a grand most people don't WanNa, spend a grand they want to spend three hundred dollars that built in streaming player is quite the deal it sounds small, but it's huge. Now, the old way spent twenty five dollars to a hundred dollars for a Roku or Amazon Fire TV stick and connected to an open hd mice slot on the back of the TV. Put Batteries in the road control put the streaming remote control next to the TV remote control. Turn the TV on ADJUSTER HD my settings to streaming. Then pick up the streaming remote access and control the menu. Now the new way
A Look at the Amazon Event 2020
"To this big amazon event. There was so much stuff so much stuff that was announced. Although it wasn't all related to Lexi specifically, but I'm just going to run through a couple of things in general just logically about the things that they announced and then I'm going to focus on some of the things that are a little more relevant to us Canadians. I will say first of all the thing that I noticed the most with this with this event, I was very fortunate to be invited to a watch online and the the big theme to me seemed the ambient home Amazon is really really stressing this idea of ambient Computing where the wage Devices where the computers were the the technology is just around us and that is why Lexie is such an important part of this but it's not the only part and so they did announce a number of products and I will come back to these in a bit but they announced the new Echo all of these are now spherical which is very interesting and I'll talk more about that. Like I say in a few moments they announce a new Echo. They announce a new Echo dot with clock being else a new Echo. For kids. This looks like it's only going to be the United States for now. They announced a new Echo Show ten, which is really interesting. It actually moves to follow you thought more about that in a few moments. They also announced a Fire TV stick a new version of Fire TV stick light 06 a wireless mesh system for home Euro-Pro 6, they announce a whole bunch of ring alarms for the car. So a ring Car Alarm a ring car cam and a ring always home cam which is very interesting. Is a device that is in your home and it's actually a little drone crazy stuff. This is like sci-fi stuff will come back to that one as well. And then they also launched something called Luna game controller and it looks like Amazon's new game streaming service is built using this control and it's built in the cloud, which is very interesting as opposed to other gaming sources. So that is the quick rundown on what they announced some of the things that I expected to see that I didn't see were any updates on any type of wearable devices because I always think I still think that when you compare let's say Google or Samsung to Amazon you think Amazon's doing such amazing things, but what is their weakness is that they don't have their own phone. And so I bought one of their strategies to get Lexie into the ears. Everybody is to get Lexie everywhere as I say have have Lexie everywhere and one of the ways I think they could be doing that is through wearables like last year. We saw the March 8th. The glasses and the echo Loop the ring but this year we didn't see anything like that. And I don't know I have questions about that is that because they have some more products that are in the works, but they weren't quite yet ready to be released. Is it because they've changed their strategy? I'm not sure but I I did find that out quite interesting. Now. I do want to talk specifically about the the devices the new device has rejected to Lexi of course and Tyler. Each one and some pre release dates and pricing and all that kind of fun stuff. Okay. So let's talk about the new Echo. So as you know, the echo previously was the cylindrical device. It's the basic device that thought they are released and there's been a number of iterations number of generations. And now we are out. We're up to the echo fourth-generation. Let me tell you a little about this first of all it took Spherical I think it looks pretty cool. I think it's very modern. And now the ring light is actually kind of along the bottom so around the base of the sphere. So it's a sphere with sort of a flat base and the ring lights along that flat base at the bottom. And so when it's when the ring light is on depending on the lighting of the room, it actually kind of creates a little bit of a a bluish glow down onto the surface which it looks pretty cool. It's actually got its got better technology. Obviously when they're releasing a new version on the top. It does have a microphone on and off button is still some buttons along the top of the sphere but they appear at least from the picture to be more flush with the sphere. This one comes in charcoal. It comes in glacier white and it came in Twilight blue. Okay, and here's something very interesting about this is it looks like Amazon has gotten rid of the Echo Plus and if you remember the Echo Plus had the smart home hub in it now the echo. The Hub built into it so great. I mean if you're looking for the ability to set up zigbee devices or for example ring smart lighting Products and all that kind of stuff locked sensors, it's now made simple with the standard Echo. It is part of that the other thing that it has built into it now that I should mention is it has a temperature sensor so you can also know the temperature off the bat and you know, you would expect that then based on temperature settings. This will be able to control Smart Home actions. The dimensions wage of this device are approximately 14 and half centimeters wide by about thirteen centimeters tall. So it's probably around the size of a softball maybe a little bit bigger than a softball but that gives you an idea of the size of this device. It has a three inch woofer in it and it's got two front firing a tweeters 4 a.m. Frequencies with Dolby audio technology, so that's great. And what's the price? Well, let me tell you. It's 1 29 99 and you can order this right now off on amazon.ca. The pre-orders are being taken right now. It will be released on October 22nd. So if you want to get this when it comes out, then go ahead and order them as
How Can I Prune a Wild Looking Elderberry Plant?
"I have both the common and black lace elderberry. The black lace is better behaved but the common one has crazy growth. The stems also seemed to be quite fragile. Can you please tell me when and how to Prune it? I'm laughing because of the description I'm going to start with the black lace I just lost mine last year it has probably been twenty. Twenty plus years in a given spot. Now, it started off with multiple stems as they do I decided. To try something so I cut away the extra stems left one good solid when in in the middle of the crown and it grew to the point of having about a three inch diameter trunk under it, it stood Twelve feet tall at the very tallest part and probably eight to ten wide. It just simply expired based on time as far as I know No, it was well behaved I, had to prune it but it was like. The heroine, a scarecrow. On the common one one of the is when I used to hunt. Along well, we'd end up near railroad track and turned away from that. There was a given plant, a natural and native plant as unkempt as a plant can be each year got bigger and so on I I'm GonNa say then having seen that one multiple times and then exposed to others along the way I think it's kind of a natural thing and she just needs to prune it and in the flowers on new stems she could prune. Well anytime up until. I. Suppose. Middle of our well, let's just say the beginning of April because it would be setting new new stems and things get it managed. Or restricted at before that point in time and let it go ahead and flower. The flowers are nothing remarkable per se and in terms of a white. As she's noted, but at the same time, it can be just full of flowers when it's in bloom and it's particularly outstanding with creamy white flour against the black lace fully. So I think she's dealing with a natural situation and It's just like an unruly kid you gotta deal with it a little bit more often.
A Love Letter to Short Men
"DOT COM and at her website Carlin Betcha. Dot Com and here is a love letter to short men. Your height is not an issue unless you make it one. It's one of the most common openers I see on dating apps a man's height. It's usually the first thing men list and sometimes height is the only thing listed. Yep just height nothing else as if those two numbers measured in feet and inches contain multitudes. I understand why it happens. We are a society obsessed with looks we treat beauty and both genders as a currency attractive people make more money are viewed as more agreeable and somehow more valuable. This is part of the halo effect, a psychology term where we assign one single trait beauty to other characteristics kindness. Personally I have never seen a woman who cares about height in fact, I find short men hot, not all of them but many. Let. Me Tell you a not hot short man's story. I recently wanted to date with a five foot five inch guy within fifteen minutes of our meeting. He ass is my height a problem. It was not until he mentioned it. I had not even looked at the height he listed on his profile. I then spent the next twenty minutes assuaging his fragile ego and explaining why many women like short men it was exhausting at one point I think he read the weariness in my slumped shoulders and tried to self correct. I'm only asking because you're right about love and sex. Sure if you went on a date with a dermatologist, would you ask her to examine the fungus between your toes? I didn't say that, but I wanted to my sarcasm is a feral beast. Then, there are the many many short guys who lie about their height. You know who you are. I once went on a date with a guy claiming to be five foot eight inches. He was five foot four inches. That's a four inch lie. If we're keeping track I wore three inch heels for that date that put me at five feet eight inches. Greeted him with a hug. This was pre pandemic days his head landed on my chest. Awkward. For most women height is not a deal breaker but lying is So. Here it is short men the painful truth your height is not the Lady Boehner killer. You think it is it your lack of confidence that makes women's ovaries shrivel up and never want to go on another date again, I have dated a lot of sexy short men and they all had one thing in common nothing to prove when Tom Cruise five foot seven inches was sexiest man alive multiple times. Did anyone add a footnote sexy for a short Guy Hell? No. When Bruno Mars five, foot five inches shakes what his momma gave him are women getting out there measuring. Sticks Adriano. then. There's Napoleon. Napoleon. Never had complex about his height nor was he even really that short you can feel his confidence oozing out of the impatient love letters. He wrote to Josephine one read a kiss on your heart and one much lower down much lower. Nowhere in that letter, will you find a postscript saying unless my height makes you not in the mood? Yet Napoleon somehow got his name attached to the height inferiority complex known as the Napoleon. Complex. The Napoleon Complex states that short men tend to be more aggressive lie more and try to compensate for their short stature by being exceptionally cruel. But researchers found the opposite to be true. One study from Nyu phone short men are thirty two percent less likely to divorce than tolman. The study also found women married to short men reported greater happiness and short men did more housework than tolman. Yes. There is a correlation between happiness and a freshly floor. Clearly short men are doing something, right? I pulled over twenty of my most dateable girlfriends for this article I asked the same question. Are you attracted to short men most had similar answer? It depends on the guy that's a nice way of saying that is not the package. It's the meat inside. So
My Garden Has Been Taken Over by Weed. Kill Them Now or in Spring?
"Oh. We also had a question at Fred at plan talk radio DOT COM from John, and he says due to reasons beyond my control. This this goes for a lot of us. This year my garden has been taken over by weeds and grasses, and he says, should I sprayed kill them before plowing under this fall? Well, I'm going to say it's probably best to do. So especially if he's let them into the flower head stage and seed stage. Now. It's not gonNA make a tremendous amount of difference. And it depends on a bit what. What the composition of the weeds a- If they're perennials. Then, I'd go ahead and do the spraying the by perennials. I mean plantain Buckthorn But Korn. Danta lines, clover, violets, those things that will come back on their own route. I would say it's best to get them killed and knock down however when you turn new ground. there is a range of seed content in that soil in the top at least eight inches. If not more, you're going to bring up some fresh seeds. You don't get rhythm all at one time. However, I guess ask to answering the question. If there if it's heavy and perennials, I would go ahead and get my just if it's just foxtail and crabgrass and well, I don't even know what else to say I don't think he would have to. But because the first frost or freeze here is GONNA kill those guys but the the the ones that I mentioned I are. Coming back there on on their own route, the dandelions the little puff balls at. Around in the Are Now plants of on new route they're anywhere from an inch and a half to three inches wide and they're just waiting to be ugly later this fall and or next spring. So I think to kill is probably going to be an advantage but just so he doesn't think he's going to have all clean soil to start over with in the spring some of that stuff's going to come back and come back but I think the the starting point would be to spray and kill and Most of the things that you would. will be needed to will need to go onto live growth be absorbed by the plant taken to the root root dies, and then the top ghost is more or less the essence of it, and therefore I would say get it done soon. A. Most. Is and so on the veggies have been more or less harvested and done. So I think soon here because we've got less than thirty days now for well approximately thirty days for for lawn grows grass growth and so on I think that's the best way to go.
Philadelphia Cab Driver Dies in Street After Being Stabbed in Neck
"Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says it appears that one of the passengers stab the driver, an apparent robbery attempt. Taxi crashed into a parked car, and a witness says he saw several men get out of that cab. And then there's a blood trail from that cab. That leads about 200 ft. South on I street in the 4400 block, and that's where we found the victim. When medics arrived, they found the driver face down with a three inch stab wound to the neck. Police believe robbery is the motive and we also found money in the front passenger area, the rear on the center console. We even found some money outside of the vehicle under the vehicle. Police have not made any arrests. They're reviewing surveillance video long haulers. That's the term being used now to describe
How Do You Know When to Start All Over With a New Lawn?
"Okay if you look at your lawn. What percentage has to be weeds or no grass to completely start over? Clark. That's a hard question to answer. It's a good question. Now, every it's particularly weedy especially the perennial types. CRABGRASS and foxtail don't come because even though they're nasty and caused problems there their annuals they're going to die off you can treat for them the following year if you have perennial grasses of any kind, be Dan Lyons implanting than the sorrel and all that kind of stuff. If there's any percentage beyond ten percent I. I'd be starting to think renovation either spot killing the the bad spots. Or even go if you're headed toward twenty, five, thirty, forty percent in weeds and junk you'd you'd be well advised to start completely over just and a neighbor of mine did it to spend several years now but? it was a a and okay lawn but it had junk in it. He came in and just mystified everybody in the neighborhood. All of a sudden died during Brown boom just about this time of year. Well, he knew to follow through and did and he's had a lush beautiful on every sense I think it is. So darned weeds can't get started in it. Yeah. That's that's the whole key right That's a long way around answering Some people are extremely fastidious. They WanNa lawn like a golf green. or or or whatever but others you know more more lenient. I tend to have about fourteen kinds of grass in my lot. They're all compatible they they kind of selected themselves as to the shades sun areas. But I'm sure there's well the lawn is fifty years old in total run. I have added some seed but I'll bet there's at least a half a dozen to a dozen types of bluegrass. If we wanted to get really fussy there's a little bit of Red Fescue for the shady spots and so on. So but but to me at three inches tall, it's enough of a blend to be compatible and when people are pets. Place at twenty, five, thirty miles an hour. If I'm lucky instead of the regular speeds that they drive if they're not seeing the weeds, I, don't see the weeds either.
"We'll take our first steps through the crumbling remains of Letchworth after this. The architecture of Letchworth village was meant to evoke Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Built in nineteen eleven and feels New York, but two, thousand, three, hundred, sixty, two, acre Hudson Valley estate was a state institution for the segregation of the epileptic and feeble minded. A small stream known as Misiones Creek Bisects the property dividing it between homes for boys and girls ranging from children to teenagers. Letchworth. Village was presented as the Paragon of care and research in its time. It was entirely self-sufficient. Thanks to the large farm on the property. The young patients tend to the fields and animals on worked as serpents in their caregivers homes. Others were given vocational training in carpentry welding and shoe repair. It was its own ecosystem which also meant that secrets were easier to keep. The attendants were screaming again. So Shana pulled threadbare pillow head trying to drown them out. They did this every night drank themselves silly, and then yelled for hours. If. She was lucky. One of the superiors would come and break things up. She was rarely lucky. She peaked your head out from under the pillow to see if emily was doing. Okay. But the new girls bed was empty. No one was supposed to be out of bed. Bad things happen to the children who left their rooms at night. Shoshana didn't move. She prayed watching be entity pillow until her eyelids grew heavy waiting for emily to return. But by the time, her eyes closed the sheet still lay vacant in the dark. As always the children were roused before for chores. Shoshana was somehow relieved define emily's large is inches from her own she woke. Emily was holding a small cloth doll your hands Je Shana asked if it was from home, shook her head slowly. She said she had found it just sean a told you to put it back. Emily said our jaw firmly. To shot at tried to remind herself that emily didn't know yet. She didn't know everyone would try to take it from her how rare it was to have something to hold onto. Maybe, Shauna was being overly cautious. The doll wasn't much to look at anyways it was smeared with. Blood. One of its is had been torn off the clock had faded to a urine yellow maybe summit at thrown it away. Emily dragged the Dow behind her as she worked with Shoshana in the doctor's house, his family had everything. They weren't allowed to have soft sheets fluffy beds nice. Clothes. When she entered the building in the morning, she couldn't help feeling like emily's new doll broke in and out of place. At bed check to Shana watched as emily carefully hid the dollar under her bed. She made been new but even she knew the attendance stole everything. Shoshana. Rubbed at the fading bruises on her arms. Bruises, the same attendance had given her. It was inevitable that emily would get treated the same at some point. But just sean would protector as long as she could. China won't once again to Emily's big brown is the little girl was terribly dirty aside from the pristinely new dress she was wearing emily insisted that she had found it but just Shana narrowed her is she needed to know the truth she couldn't protect her if she didn't know who emily was stealing from. Emily hesitated. Shoshana. Pulled the dress off her and stood up using the extra three inches. She had over emily for extra intimidation. Emily signed and took Shawna's hand. She wouldn't tell Shauna. Could show her. The two girls snuck out of the dormitory avoiding the night attendance emily letter toward the woods for a small hand into Shawna's large one. The off-duty workers were so much louder out in the open where there are no walls to drown out the sounds. She could hear their argument in full now followed by the sound of a fist hitting skin. She knew that sound well and she hated it.
Galaxy Note 20: We Dig Into Samsung's Latest Flagship
"Is new about the no twenty yeah. There aren't any huge notable things where you're gonNA say oh wow this looks totally different or feels totally different or seems totally different This is kind of Marvin iteration from what we saw last year and frankly in innovation from the s twenty lineup So there's The, there's two versions the note twenty in the note twenty ultra The note twenty has a plastic back Samsung went with Matt colors time, which is kind of Nice. We're all interested to see what that actually looks like in person The ultra uses gorilla glass on the front and the back and it has A. One of the big things that we saw happen is in the s twenty lineup there the ultra had this one, hundred x space zoom You know that they demonstrated zooming in like crazy far being able to see things and this time they've paired it back. So now we've only got fifty in the ultra so it's not as big of assume. Which I think is probably ultimately a good thing that was kind of blurry and frankly a little creepy how far you could zoom with your phone. The screen sizes are pretty big one of the things that was really nice about last year's note line was that Samsung had a new note that actually wasn't that big of the note ten was six point three inches this year the note twenty starts at six point seven and then the ultra is six point nine. So you know these are very large phone so. You really appealing to kind of those loyal note fans yellow will be questioned is how much do these phones cost? Yeah. They're not cheap. The. The note twenty is nine, Ninety nine, and then the ultra is twelve, ninety nine. So these are definitely premium phones I think people are going to be kind of looking at the note twenty and saying, okay, this is thousand dollar phone I'm not really getting a lot more than maybe. Beginning from some of the older versions, is it worth it or? Do I pay that extra and get the ultra that has you know kind of. Our specs it just is. More premium device. So we're really going to see what people ended up doing when it comes to making these decisions.
Around The World On 50 Bucks With Christopher Schacht
"Hello Travel Nerds, and welcome to the extra pack of peanuts travel podcast. The show that teaches you how to travel more. While spending less I'm your host Travis Sherry and joining me today as someone who has hitchhiked across oceans who started off on a four year journey around the world with only fifty dollars in his pocket and came home with a wife and who is a fellow twin Christopher shot author of around the world on Fifty Bucks Christopher. Thanks for joining me a huge. Welcome. To Be Masao, I am very excited to chat with you and I my trial. We say that teaches you how to travel more while spending less. But today you're going to be the one who's the expert in that because you have certainly Done that on your adventure, but before we start talking about all this. I saw that you were twin mentioned somewhere on one of your sights and you said your twin is the exact opposite of you. So explain that how is he the exact opposite view? Okay Festival. From the parents and I have blonde hair blue eyes. I'm about one one, eighty, three centimeters I think that's something like six foot. Tall and my brothers about ten centimeters about three inches smaller taller than me. And but then this is only the outside parties, Brown hair Brown eyes but from the inside, I'm sort of the person who wants to go out and explore the adventures type of person and teas such a comfortable home drawn guys. So he would rob a die Ben leaving his nice comfy home and bad and toilet. So yeah, actually this was what his concerns that I was going on this world trip. You said, okay maybe you don't want to miss this opportunity for all the money in the world, but I wouldn't WanNa do it for the money in the world so tell me why are you gonNa go to the toilet while you're out in the woods and all that? and. We're going to sit here on my is heated. Toilet. Yeah. It's crazy right how you can have the same upbringing same parents and yet be completely different especially when it comes to personalities. I tend to say in those times is benedict. You know that I'm five minutes older new. So once you will hit my age, we'll talk again. Okay. That's an awesome line. It's interesting because you know obviously twins or not that uncommon, but don't be a ton of people. And I'm a twin myself. Now I have a twin sister and we are we are very much different in in most ways like I think people who know US say all they're pretty different, but then every once in a while. And I feel like I'm either acting like her I say something I'm like, Oh, I sound like my sister. So is there ever I? Know you say your exact opposites but are there any times or any situations where you do see yourselves sharing certain things? There's traits. Totally. So especially humour when we will in the same class, only one glance to each other would be enough to just burst out laughing and everybody else. would be like what's going on This is so crazy, and until until today there is no other person on this planet who I laugh with so much like with my brother. So that's really amazing. I love this guy even though we are completely different we get along very very well. Yeah that is awesome and yeah, people always ask me well, how what is it like to be a twin? How's IT different? I don't know because I don't know what it's like not to to end right so. There's also the strange telephone thing is creepy. Mind conduct going on that cannot really explain alycia twin for sure for sure. So let's talk about your journey a bit a journey that as as your brother put it, you would not give up for all the money in the world and he wouldn't go on for all the money in the world and you left on this journey fifty dollars in your pocket no plan. So when you first laughed how long in your head, did you actually think it would last? So, I left on the first of July two, thousand thirteen and at that point of course, all my relatives wanted to know Christopher how long are you going to be gone for and I? talked them off as saying well I don't know if I'd give you a deadline. Then you would say probably after two years crucify you said you're going to be back after two years. So now where you are. and. I when I avoid that I will need as long as I need. So no timeframe at all. That's usually what I said brushed them off like this but secretly I I actually thought about two years and then later on it turned out to be far because it's definitely not enough to get once around the world without
Review: amazing TCL/Roku TV for $229
"Graham here with a question when the last time you bought yourself a new. Year after year. You know I've been amazed at the falling prices of sets that would garner seven hundred dollars two thousand dollars just a few years ago, and I just picked up a new forty three inch, T. C. L. set with roku built in for two hundred and twenty nine dollars. Two hundred and twenty nine dollars for a display that offers four K. HD, resolution and HDR. But forget about the acronyms I'm just amazed at what you can get now for two hundred bucks. I bought the TV for a non traditional reason to use it as a giant computer monitor to watch videos that I have edited on my laptop on my little sixteen inch laptop. So I paid fifteen dollars for a ten foot HD my cord. That's the Court of course that connects the TV to other devices and I connected it to my apple macbook pro. It went directly to the TV. I didn't have to spring for an additional twenty five to fifty dollars for a separate. Roku streaming player right so I saved money. The footage looks so great at forty three inches I had to wonder why anybody would go out and spend big bucks on a computer monitor a quick look on Amazon in a forty three inch LG monitor is upwards of six hundred bucks wow. So the other thing once I sit up the TV. I never had to plug in antenna cable box or anything defined oodles of programming. All I needed was a WIFI signal. roku screen name and Password and suddenly I had five hundred APPs available on the platform. A lot of them wanted money from me, but there was many that didn't there was so much free stuff I couldn't believe it. I mean I come from a generation that's used to connecting things to the TV whether that be streaming box whether that be an antenna whether that be a cable box. I mean this is amazing. I can act the nothing. so the APPS. There's the usual Pandora Hulu Amazon Prime Video Netflix's s on and on two big ones missing Hbo Max in NBC's Peacock. Financial negotiations, and then there's the roku channel which is a homegrown collection that supported movies and TV shows mostly on the older side. Batman bewitched movies like the perfect storm, dogs and cats. Crimson tide. And live news channels and these are really good from ABC. NBC and CBS. Accord cutters dream no cable needed. All you need is Wifi and you get more stuff than you'd ever Wanna see without connecting anything. So how cool is that? The picture quality I would rate as a ten for a two hundred dollar TV or five on the overall scale. If you're comparing it to the best of breed leads a fifty inch led from Samsung cost eight hundred dollars for the TCL set. You'll have to sit right in front of it. Turn the lights on low and not be on the sides and that way the pitcher will look its best for a savings of six hundred dollars I can do that.

The broncos sport won't even be out until years end higher end versions of the Bronco won't be at dealerships until next spring. Ford is doing everything it can to make the Bronco enticing enough to away jeep lovers, and of course to persuade new off roaders to come into the Ford camp that includes besting the ramblers largest tires thirty three inches with whopping thirty five inch tires, Ford says a Bronco outfitted with the almost three foot in diameter tires can easily go through a couple of feet of water models also come with removable roofs and doors. Drivers can store the doors in the Bronco. For, it says. At about thirty thousand dollars, the price of the two door base Bronco comes in at only two hundred dollars more than the base price of the jeep wrangler at the top in a limited number of first edition for door Bronco started about sixty one thousand dollars, Ford began taking one hundred dollar deposits on Broncos last Monday when it released the new line I edition reservation slots sold out within a couple of hours. Still as bullish as the auto press is about the Broncos, the release comes against bleak backdrop for the auto industry. Overall vehicle sales plummeted when covid nineteen emerged shut the industry down for two months recently, both Ford and GM reported second-quarter sales declines of about thirty three percent from a year earlier jeep parent, Fiat Chrysler did even worse with sales down forty percent. And that puts a lot of pressure on Ford to live up to its promise of adding a billion dollars to the bottom line next year through Bronco Sales. And it adds pressure Chrysler to keep jeep at the top of the OFFROAD HEAP Stakes is high as the boulder strewn rocky mountains. The war between Bronco in gene. We'll be fascinating to watch.

Metal Roofs and Storm Debris
"You guys working on this morning. Well actually wanted to start with a question for Jeff at found some interesting things on home inspections. Dealing with metal roofs, and I just had a couple of questions. You, you ready Jeff. Bomb. With you know we could talk about ventilation in on roofs, but I've been in a couple of addicts recently with a metal roof on it, and there's a bunch of leaves and debris right underneath the ridge men. And, I think what's happening is because there's no resistance on that metal roof. Whenever we're having these, you know these great storms. It's literally pushing the leaves up the roof, and then down into the attic and I'm wondering is there. Yeah, that's very possible. Wow. You, it's an. New No sort of screen or anything like that. That's ever been considered. If not the not ideas, mind and someone's got to pay me for it so. I can I can definitely see how that can happen especially on the windward side of the roof that. Would blow debris up in that video cap. Mall amount. I'm telling you. It was like two or three inches of lanes about eighteen inches wide straight down that ridge, and it was in two different addicts. You know what that makes me think PAM is. That is that the leaves are are one concern, but critters that come on leaves are also another concern. Well Yeah Yeah, so I didn't know if I was trying to Google it and looking at I'm just gonNA. Ask Jeff if there's some type of whenever you're venting that metal. If you because I know on a regular asphalt when they put that Ridge van up there, it's basically encapsulated. It's got screen built in screening, but I'm guessing on the metal roof. It doesn't. Old saying. I've never even thought about that. I mean that's something to think about. It really is because that that definitely can happen
Cutting your finger off (almost)
"Jimmy Yomas. Cut Your finger off again. Tell us that story. I I believe if you Mike was Right. There Mike my check, my buddy, who's been helping me out? He lives in the neighborhood, and we became fast friends last year, and he's been around and he's incredible so mike and Erin were right there in errands like Johnny on the spot with first aid because he was in the military, so he was trained in all these various. Disciplines of I stayed in organization and stuff, and he's amazing and. They were both standing in be talking to each other. When they heard the saw, go off and they might just goes. Oh, boy was at bypass. was that not bypassed because he saw me like my hand this. And I go. We've been cutting this particular would a local friend of mine has been giving me hundreds of board feet. This would it's all pine, but it's all painted and Scott screws and nails in it so whenever we cut it. I usually bypass, but and I was in. It's all painted black. And you had to explain somebody who doesn't know. Yeah, yeah, as you could turn the break off, so the machine acts like a typical table so with no ability to stop if it sense skin so a and the reason we bypass, because does nails and screws and staples, and all would and I was cutting a piece that would, but I was a piece I picked up a inspected quickly and I noticed there were no nails or staples in it, so I didn't bypass, and I just want right, but Mike has been using the Sawtooth and every time. I say used the blacks up bypass because we don't have an extra break, we do now, but we did and anyway. The I was cutting in. It's funny. Andrew Kline Span. He's very very intuitive very sport of course. Said, how did it happen? They just a real simple question, which is really so stupid. It's like had it happen, and I know an Andrew would be like he could. I said I was cutting short piece of wood, and the blade was really high, so the kickback was really powerful. What really happened was the blade the salt? The piece of wood went through the blade. It was only like thirteen inch piece of wood, as it went through the blade, it hit the back of the blade in rose up because the would kind of pinch the back of the blades rose up because I had the blade at three inches, because I had just cut something really big, and I was only cutting something three quarters of so hit the back of the blade in rose up and snaps back down. And when it snapped back down, and the kickback at it pushed, the of would back out the front of the saw. And it, the piece of wood on the left side of the blade was only about an inch wide, and it ran across my fingernail, so I'm pretty convinced what happened was the would kicking back ripped my fingernail open. Now, but because of this I mean I didn't feel it. Now, but because of the trauma I don't know if it's happening. You guys now. This is the second time the me I believe. Because of the trauma of the the would getting old like you know rankling. whacking the vibrating the blade, the thing went off. There was one other time I call on video where I was cutting something in kickback I was nowhere near the played with any skin hands, and the blade kicked it break went off. So I believe it was the trauma of the Blade vibrating that caused the break to go off and not necessarily sensing skin. That's one theory. Mike and Aaron kind of. Believe that my hand was pushed into the blade. I hit. It happened so quick. I can't honestly say exactly what did happen. The Guard was down so you guys will be happy to have the guard all the way down, so my hand hit the blade like under the edge of the guard. If it did hit the blade, my other theory is my thing. L. Hit the blade, I and the technology didn't work until the cut went through my fingernail if that makes sense. So because the I, believe the pieces all there I believe it was just ripped from the the piece of wood, pushing through I don't think i. hit the blade late. That's just my gut feeling. So. They just don't little tiny pieces of wood without push sticks if I was using push. Dick's like on the outside. Usually use a push. On between the fence and the blade. And not always on the other side like Matisse's is. Consistent he talks uses those crab claw. Push sticks on both sides of the piece of wood, and that's what I often do, but I was just was a stupid momentary like cut this quick. And, that's what happened. So. You, know I I constantly. It's been ten years that I'm always very aware of stable saw safety since I got injured the first bedtime and This time it just was just one of those of this will take one second, and then Kabui, and I'm okay I. mean all I just I just have like a going to screw fingernail. Probably it'll grow out and be fine. The funny thing was is when you get injured on the table. So you know you get you get like fifteen pictures of all the friends that folly. It also cut themselves on the tables though. Check this out. So I got I got about five or six emails or pictures on Instagram. A very similar injuries through the fingernail and. And everybody said most of the people like I'm fine now grew out. You can't even tell. So. That's what I suspect will happen. So No Hospital Mike was there Mike see to train so as errands so the to discuss? I didn't even look just stuck my finger between them like fix that I. Know they were both great now. I was more. It's it's. It's definitely not to be taken lightly. About instagram because it was kind of my self defense mechanism book. I was more the same time I. Cut Myself The first time when I had to go to the hospital for three days. I was more inconvenience that had so many things to do. That now it's like a I was able to get back to work on on that day.

U.S. Air Force Launches Contest to Replace the B-52 Bomber’s Engine
"Here to talk about bombers. There is news just breaking as of May nineteenth the US Air Force kicked off a three way competition to reengineer. Its entire seventy six aircraft. Be Fifty two fleet and the the competitions going to be underway. They just released a request for proposals. Steve can you talk about what the Air Force is looking for? And what that means for the companies involved. Yes so on Tuesday evening or Tuesday late afternoon the Air Force released the our fee to start Step two of the engine source election the replacement for the Beef at T.F. Thirty Three's which You know design. That goes back about sixty years. And you've got three companies in the competition. Rolls Royce with the VR seventy five. Which for this competition. They're calling the effluent thirty We also have the engine. That's on the global six thousand that The Air Force is flying as as the e eleven As a communications relay. Pratt Whitney is competing with the w eight hundred which is another business jet engine and you've got Ge that has said that they are looking at offering either or both of the CF. Thirty four engine actually started out with the. A ten In still in service with the ten. But it's gone onto power of regional jets and Also it's passport engine. Which is the propulsion system on the bombard? Da Global Seven thousand business jet. So those are the those are the three competitions with air forces looking for is a new propulsion system. That as what what they say is basically the T.F. Thirty-three has kind of come to the end of its life beyond twenty thirty. They don't really see. You're very viable way of sustaining it. And keeping it in service. But of course they've decided that the B fifty two will continue operating beyond twenty fifty so they need something under the wings of those aircraft. Keep them flying and they're looking for something that it can extend the range by twenty five percent that can add a bunch of loiter time to the B fifty two's mission set and They won't cost too much and that they can integrate as quickly as possible. So that's that's where we are with the competition Steve Guy. Can you tell us a little bit of it? Gives us a little more sense of the engines? That will be competing. Hard High State Yeah I it's fascinating to me that this is competition is underway. It's it's really difficult to believe that in the early two thousands that they looked at this in the nineteen seventies even looked. This goes back a long way. Pratt and Whitney originally proposed a you know of the upgrades the T.F. Thirty three which courses based on the original J. Three engine that Pratt went. They developed some back in the in the late. Fifties and early sixties. Rolls Royce of course came really close more recently With an offbeat till Evan Option in the mid. Nineteen nineties with with Boeing as a team So it's been an ongoing thing but that was was four engines to replace AIDS so this is different. Because you've got eight engines. Replace eight engine. So how could that possibly work? So the the reason it can work is that over the last fifty years which is really the length of the of this program The original engine. If it's hard to imagine this but the actual fan amit served Pratt and Whitney engine that the the one that's on the inevitable at thirty three is about fifty inches the inlet itself and yet the bypass ratio. Which is you know the key parameter ready for the performance of this Is Only one point. Four three two one but all of the engines that nabbing pushed through for this replacement here. We are fifty years later. They're all between four point. Two to five point five to one bypass ratio but basically in the same diamonds and that reflects the fact that all those cores of shrunk at in you've got much more efficient fan flow and that so here you are bringing in these twenty-first-century engines however just to clarify that One of those engines at state mentioned. Jeez pushing forward with the CF thirty four DASH sandwiches one option. That engine actually will be this year celebrating. I believe it's twenty eight anniversary so it's it's not a near engine itself. Likud's relative to what it's replacing it still a youngster. Really Oli others estate mentioned on new business jet engines up just a little bit of sort of back of the envelope. Calculation and based on the published data that we've got. It's quite interesting. You look at the actual weight that bear way to each of these engines and do a quick so a calculation it at the moment they the tip thirty three. The ship said of bear engines weighs about thirty five thousand pounds. That's just mean a mechanical gear on on the on the pylon not including the case sings or even sometimes accessories. If you look at the calculated waits for the others the passport which is the other g engine would actually weigh slightly more about thirty six thousand the prod engine the Peterloo eight hundred which state mentioned which is the The J. Six hundred five hundred engine is sly is actually the lowest just under twenty five thousand. Pansy got an interesting calculation going on that but basically they're all within about three inches of each other in terms of inlet diameter all within a few hundred pounds thrust so it's very complicated competition and a very interesting calculus that the Athol is GonNa have to go through.

"Eleven fifty two. We have light rain at the moment and midtown, but that is going to change AccuWeather forecast. Here's Carl babinski. That is correct while it is in the mid and upper forties right now with rain that is light southerly wind will not only make it milder during the night, but will usher in some heavy rainfall pockets of the rain heavy enough to cause flooding tomorrow, especially during the morning and midday hours, we do have the flood watch it runs through late tomorrow night. And I think part of that is due the runoff situation. There will be a general one to three inches of rain coming in a period of less than fifteen hours, and that certainly caused rivers and streams to rise. And so tomorrow and nasty day with a gusty wind will be quite mild temperatures will be in the low sixties, but wind gusts of up to forty five miles per hour expected in the city even higher gusts on eastern wall Nyland tomorrow. There are coastal flood warnings out probably during the time. If I tied the tide will be running a foot or two above normal. So certainly flooding not only do the rain but also coastal concerns moving forward. Now, all this will be winding down tomorrow night, January with a brisk wind, it'll be cool. Cooler with temperatures falling into the forties Sunday despite plenty of sun, high forty four. Right now, we're raining and forty-seven humidity. Ninety three percent the win northeast fifteen miles per hour. Right might rain forty seven. It'll go off to fifty five in midtown. All the meteorologist Carl babinski on New York's weather station and tan win wins. News time eleven fifty three. Hey,.

"Maybe you shouldn't try to do dimsum maybe we'll do something else so i'm not actually a talented folder and pleader so i'll give you my my dad's way of falling one time my dad had like literally never cooked when i was a kid and only once and i mean really wants that i see him like handle food and he was sitting at table and it was helping to fill one tons and i we're i learned from him i don't learn from washington what they were doing but i just remember how it really special moment i sat down with my dad and pop was putting filling in one thousand skins and so you take the one that's typically it's a square about like three inches about three inches on each side you hold it sort of like a diamond shape in your hand you take not a whole lot maybe tablespoon maybe less two teaspoons full filling drop in the middle have a little bowl of water dip a finger in the water and then trace the two edges of the onetime skin and then you just kind of fold it folded over so now it goes from diamond to a triangle right and kind of push out the air from around the filling seal it like just pinch at shot on the two inches and then bring the two the two edges that are sort of flush with the filling if that makes sense so fordham over like you're like you're like your closing a bathrobe basically is what you're doing and then different finger again to get those two ends wet and pinch them together and that's kind of it it's not beautiful it's not doesn't look like a one time necessarily make a beautiful restaurant but holds it together and the nice thing about that is it makes a nice flat shape for you that you can lay on a sheet trae made with some parchment and lay them out individually pop them in the freezer and you can freeze and you can freeze you know hundreds and hundreds of time if you have the freezer space and then when you take them out when the fray some frozen you can stop them into you could actually in pretty flat in a ziplock bag in a big gallons of luck by start stacking them up.

"The winter iraq here and there have the blade shop it's an investment that will pay back ten times because if you have to buy a turf fun just side is gonna cost you a lot more money than having to blade shopping so that's one of the main things that need to be done right now it's very important and the other thing is if you're in a situation like i am here where we haven't had any rain raise that blade get it up to about three inches and that will create some shade on the ground you're yulon will look like it may need to be cut a little bit but the blade of grass will weep over it will shade to ground it will help to retain moisture that's in the soil and you can bring it down in the fall but at this time of the year for june july and august raise your blade to about three inches or even a little more if you can get up that high it will make a big difference in the color of your crafts because if you cut it short it doesn't rain in watering it and they get hot and sunny than the heat's going to dry up your soil and you'll learn will go into an early dormancy and you don't want that happen so just be aware of it and raised that played shopping the blade and if you haven't fed jalaun yet spend a little money a little time invest on the grass a good fertilization will go a long way and you can still kill.
