"A plane ice cream. i like vanilla. Only exception i make is my favorite ice cream. Flavor is maple walnut so obviously that has walnuts but otherwise. I'm just a an old school plane ice cream guy so just corcoran knife and some vanilla ice cream and you just go to town. That's right that's right. Open up a half gallon try. My heart is not to eat it all in one sitting. That's me. I love that. You don't love toppings but your favorite ice cream has a topping in it. Well it's maple walnut. It's got maple walnut within it but nothing on top like i would never put chocolate syrup on top of my maple walnut ice cream and maple and walnut is very natural ingredients. Because you like that kind of old fashioned flavors you remind me bombing food. It's a new england flavor. And i'm born in new england and i just love that is can. What's your favorite flavor. Everybody that's a good question. Good toscan cream. There's gonna be some we're gonna get some meant meant baskin robbins. Mint chocolate chip. No not okay. I thought we would. Kate is so right though. There's no older sounding ice cream and maple walk. There has to be though right. I'm raising macadamia raising raisins for jerry. Like a teenager going now. I'm getting the maple walnut. That's right everybody. The middle is where it's at stash. Oh killing lemon. Ice cream is something that only old people would eat. Whatever though right. That's another thing we talked about this a bunch. I call it sherbert. Even though i know that there is no that you're adding their billion sorbet sorbet. Those are two different things. Yes yes yes or bay. Shurmur are different. No not sorbet burt. Yeah exactly yes correct. You're saying them. No no i just a minute. God's favorite ice cream flavor. I like the cookies and cream from ben and jerry's so good as kate said anything that's a vehicle for orios or cookies and cream. I'm here for this as oreos and chocolate job. Delightful this is gonna be weird but my favorite is well. I like july more than i like ice cream. But my favorite gelato flavors like anything. That's like a mascarpone. Like dark cherry type thing like kinda like taste like a holy filling but in a lot of form. That's my favorite sounds good. I don't like cherries. that's my contribution. Chris cherries of things. I don out like stupid. Like blow pops. Cherry blow pulling anything with cherries. I don't like actual chair okay. Well how can you eat. Blowpipe haven't had one in years. But i just like i don't dislike cherry blow pops but i don't like anything like with cherries on top. I like to artificial cherry flavor on sherry starbucks. Get if somebody gave me like a speared cherry on a drink. Yuck i wouldn't eat nassar. Jackie medicine cherry versus black cherry. Good white cleaver no. No it is oh man. What is that a thing that we've talked about. I don't understand why white clauses san. I've never happened feeling pretty classes about it. Honestly because the best invention of the first century for me seltzer. Can we put that on. The paul white clause the greatest adventure in the twentieth century. It's crazy how many spin offs capitalistic white claw is about keeping your shape and your figure while you drink right like white clause like it's about how you can drink but still be super fit. It's not really what you want to be drinking. But it's the thing that fits into concentric circles of like it's not that many calories. It's not that many carbs at a really wanna be drinking it. But it's the best version of this terrible thing that i could different your white claw. And then you get on the peleton later as though sawyer. John does that roy. Has anyone ever done that. Maybe you do the peleton first. And then he drink whitecloud later. I think the health they treat for yourself. The health stuff is part of it. But it's also great outdoor drink like it's got cornered the market and i'm gonna be out drinking so this is chris. I know you love high. Noon's i saw you. Drinking one liners then neuner and numerous and whitecloud truly like they're all in same category of hard seltzer and like honest to god. Heard saulters have changed my life. Because i am someone who cannot and does not drink beer because i am allergic to it and so having something in a can form that is refreshing and has the same amount of alcohol so i don't have to have like a vodka soda or something that's going to me like really hammered off like one or two. I am a lightweight for what it's worth being able to drink something like a little bit lower. Ab refreshing on a hot day like that has my life while you're legit. A beard hurts. Dad has that make reveal. Had that hit you dad. When she said she's allergic to beer. I winced i winced I was. I was walking in her shoes. All of a sudden imagining how that would be. Yeah but it's more than that. You're allergic to jessica Well i avoid wheat. It makes me very sleepy tired. So i can't eat it anymore on fudge. Nah my feeling about why clauses that nothing tastes more like an artificial flavor than white clause. It feels like like the cherry flavor is like red number forty seven put inside of a white claw it doesn't taste anything like other flavors and its own thing and it just so artificial to me. I can't help but feel super judgmental. Avoid claw and. I don't wanna feel this way when i went to a wedding and all they had was wine or white cloth. What's that's weird. I like white. Yeah that can't be the only white claw or there's just something about it that you don't like at that wedding i had one i mean. I think it's flavored dependent. Is what have been old if i had a flavor. That wasn't good. I didn't find my flavor. Mango or black people. Say but i think i'm more rejected on the basis. That people often the people. I am seeing drink it. I think that they're drinking it because they don't like calories and saying nothing is you just. Everyone has their own reason. And i don't think they actually want to be drinking it. I think it is. It's like a it's like a capitalistic. I'm the i need to have the perfect body pursuit. no and i. I don't like that either. Your over figures. I just think it's trending and trendy things. Whitecloud became a thing and the no everyone drinks white claw and everyone has to profess to to like waclaw by the way in social settings. I have professed to like whitecloud. I hate it in for this. And i thought so. I thought that professing that you didn't like what was really the place to be so it seems like i'm on the wrong side show. Okay no so. I think so. You are someone who likes to be counterculture then because how just because you don't like why claw no because if you're saying like you're saying disliking white claw is the place to be like. I think that is against the common wisdom. Which is that you know. Every all the kids whitecloud like you just said you don't like white club you pretend to like well. Yeah i did. I pretend like club. Because i thought it was the popular stance. I feel like cages. Had to take and we're going to be honest. I mean. I don't like white claw and i say that i don't like whites law. That's my position on it. And i do think that like i do think my rationale for why i don't like it like i would like to be proven wrong on that because i do think that i see a lot of people drinking it. And i think that they're obsessed with their bodies like having perfection in their bodies like landed on the white cloth as the thing they can drink and still be a part of drinking culture. I don't think that you're wrong. Because i think like if your college age and you're drinking more than say like three four drinks at a time you're probably going to have a light beer and so white claws just the alternative to having light beer where it has in my opinion a little bit better flavor than like natty but like you're still not over you know the calorie intake is is comparable. It's probably like one hundred calories a can or something like that. So you're not drinking two thousand calories a day but you're still getting a buzz on. I think i think you're on. I do think until me if you think i'm wrong. I think that white claw as a brand is associated with pretense sort of like driving a land rover. Am i wrong. But i don't think it's a landrover. I think it's like a kia.

"An example, another example of this is a product I follow one of the founders on twitter. It's called liquid death, and it is literally nothing but cans of mountain spring water, but the cans are styled like a beer, like or energy drinks, whatever may be, but it's this wild crazy skull logo, and it looks like you're having a hardcore alcoholic beverage, and at the end of the day it's just pure mountain spring water, and they're growing like crazy because people want to participate in that ritual that you mentioned. To drink liquid death at a party, they're hanging out in without getting hammered and so I think this is going to be a a huge new product category frankly and I'm stuck. You guys are on the cutting edge of it. Yeah! That's such a good example. Right because there's something about the outward appearance of drinking that I. Think is really interesting. I've been having conversations with people who are in the suburb. Or her in recovery. They're telling me that they want social anxiety around going out because like they don't know what to hold in their hand. Right like you seem. Like when you're not mulling on the and so you know they love it, they can have a real craft drink. That's being and have something you know that they're holding sipping on that. They actually really enjoy and not be judged by the people around. Which I think is really interesting, and you know it's not just people this summer community right it's. It's athletes at Yogis. It's people who just. Want to have. The ability to go out and like Hey, don control in the morning or something like that I think are really enjoying it or you know, be able to have like two three four drinks and drive home i. think is really interesting, too, so there's a lot of different reasons that I think people. Are Looking forward to prospect than you know especially in this sort of post cove. Ed Post Quarantine World. I think it's especially important because we're so. Braving human, and when we start going to bars again, you know. Do you want something that gets you a little foggy and of put this film between you and the people that you're with, or do you want some that really helps you drop into presence and to connect with people around you rising your ladder. exactly yeah, and there's a whole other conversation around the the SORTA flu, fighting benefits of and things like that is really interesting, too, but yes, about treating your body right, you know when you're going out and still being able to have fun, but you're not paying for it. Well. Thank you so much man for taking the time today to share the story about Alma and the work that you guys have been putting into this. If folks want to try the products, they can go to Ama- Healing Co. I would just skip the retrial. Guys and just look.

"Suck you you suck. I just draw blank. We did what more early is wrong with you. Listen Mike I can't thank you for coming on the show. I have to admit you've been very mellow. This isn't funny kickball. Mike but I do think you did a fantastic job. I think this is definitely worthy of publish for your first time. I expect you to bring the energy next time I will. I appreciate you having me. It was kind of hard to follow up. You know your mom. She had a lot of energy. She had a lot. She has been. My mom was just literally through you. Know through zoom. You're sitting here right next to me in this beautiful studio that we now have. I know you love it but this is a little different for me as I've never done. Miss it is it is it. It's a little nervous. It's kind of like an interview. You know what you want to say but when you actually get in front of an individual you kind of just start drawing blanks last question. Actually last question. I'm going to pick on you so last question. What do you think of the PODCASTS for foreign I? I wanted to be honest and I'm going to lower my voice because I want you to be honest. Honest feedback is very hard to get every person's like Oh my God. It's so great. That is awesome. But that's bullshit. I don't want that. I want your opinion as my really good friend of what the show could use. What what other topics do you have ideas? Because I'm getting tons of them and I just want to get some info from you. Well I think it's a very good start of a podcast the first four episodes I like that. You're giving out recipes especially since you gave me one of my favorite like favorite chicken recipes. an kind of learning from you know different types of pastas have being created. I would like to see this actually being expanded longer. Right Mike. We've been talking. Twenty two minutes is not long enough. Yes but the previous episodes has been Kinda short still ten and eleven my call when you were young and your I I trying to figure out sacks and all those things or even making out. Let's not get crazy. You have to take your time. You got to build up not agree but you ask me what my hours. I know me. I don't take criticism. So maybe that's why I know tells me so. Hold on. We started at like fifteen minutes and then I made it to nineteen minutes and my mom was twenty two minutes. You and I are over twenty three minutes right now. That's growth brother. It is growth and I think that as time goes on. I think that you have a lot of good topics and I want to expand on that okay. And that's what I'm saying is like I feel like it's too short like you touch bits and pieces but I think that we can expand a lot longer and I think the podcasts. Can it would help the podcast right. Well I appreciate that. That's exactly what I want. And then what in the world do I need to do to get a five star review from you? Because you're the only one that I know that have not done it. Are you ashamed of me? No I'm very just I don't like to be in the public is so I can tell you. Make a fake name Buddy. You can write whenever something Mike or you can make yourself bruce. If you WANNA kick Bruce I will. I will give you that by tomorrow morning. Yeah I'm a little letdown. I gotta be honest with you. I listened to him. I listen to you on the first. Isn't that tell you? Hey I like this and I. I laughed at Dad. And let me tell you what. I got going on real quick before we finish. I have a person that wants to have me on your podcast tomorrow. I think that's really cool. Never done that so brown. Screw that up. I don't WANNA say religious type stuff but I'm not quite sure I don't want to screw that up. And then oddly enough. It's so crazy that I've been booming in Canada. Oh Canada and I have a Canadian person that I'm going to be on her podcast way absolutely love. I'm not GonNa name at night right now. Because maybe she's not going to publish it if I screw up but I think that's going to be really good for me to continue to learn how to do this so I look forward to that and then hopefully I can learn from those in our next time we do. This together. Could be much better yet. Just like how you're learning. I'M GONNA learn listen to podcasts and see how other guests kind of the one before. I've done this Nicholas. Just not my thing I would say will listen to a few but really I just kind of like listening to reggae music or videos so well thank you so much grow. We made it over twenty five minutes. Mike just left We listened to the segment. You guys are going to hear Three or four times. He was a little critical of himself in the beginning. I think once we had three four drinks he loved it. "Is ongoing. And so I won't necessarily talk a whole lot more about that but we've completed a study. That was focused on reducing substance use within active duty military here in the United States and that intervention we developed because the army specifically has treatment resources in programs. That are free shoes. Soldiers who have a substance problem but pretty much only people who get in trouble. Go to those programs because it goes on your record and command notified and so it can have a deleterious effect on your career if you go to a treatment within the military the other thing is even if you volunteer for substance. Use Treatment within the military. Commander is often notified in so again. We were thinking okay so there might be a number of barriers to soldiers seeking care for a drinking Simpson's he's problem in so might a check up model be an interesting addition to the services that they have which were prevention treatment already and might that resonate with soldiers so we developed an ad campaign again focusing on active duty military and asking you know. Do you have questions or concerns about your alcohol? Use or your substance use. Give us a call at U. DUB on potential commanders that notified. It's free all of that. So this intervention was all by phone our participants we recruited about two hundred forty solters. Active-duty soldiers eighty nine percent had substance dependence disorder mostly alcohol and we provided one session of motivational enhancement over the phone. The feedback included Norman. At data information tolerance level consequences of us we tailored it specifically a number of ways. But it looks. You know pretty similar to an alcohol motivational enhancement. Therapy intervention deliver over the phone. We follow these folks up for six months And of course it was over here is controlled trial so they either got motivational enhancement therapy or they got education really good education. They they got education this one session intervention first of all attracted a highly clinically significant population. Most had a substance use disorder. All of them had substance use disorder but most had alcohol or substance dependence on average. They were drinking three four drinks a week and not seeking treatment some not engaged in treatment also high levels of PTSD depression other clinically relevant behaviors. But really outside of therapeutic system this one session motivational enhancement. Therapy reduced drinks a from three or four drinks per week to fourteen her week which is within normal limits of drinking as established by the National Institute on Alcohol Alcoholism and also by the six month follow up whereas eighty nine percent had alcohol dependence only twenty four percent had alcohol dependence at the six month. Follow so this. One session intervention attracted highly clinically significant population within the military. It allowed an opportunity that was free from fear to evaluate their alcohol use than their substance use and it made significant differences in their drinking that I would also fair clinically. Significant differences is again fantastic results from from what most people would consider very brief intervention for a very complex presentation and I must not be exciting for a lot of people at their here. You know this doesn't have to go on for years and years and years for some real significant change to happen for people. Yeah it's it's really striking. I'm just and it's not just the one conversation. Of course it's all of the components that you've described but still nonetheless not using tons of resources in tons of time can produce some really important and significant results so really exciting stuff. Well Denise as we as we get closer to the endpoint today one of the things we ask our guests as we approach the end is. What are some things that you're up to lately? What's a projector or some fun? New Idea that you have on your horizon that you'd like to share with us well right now and working with the team on an application a renowned using motivational interviewing or adapting our team marijuana checkup interventions for folks who are experiencing first episode psychosis. So we know that. Marijuana has a lot of contributory effect on development of psychosis in that it interferes with treat. Now comes four psychosis so it. Interferes with medication compliance? It interferes with a symptom reduction out of this of things and so right now. I'm working with a team. Who has expertise in psychosis in in severe mental illness and we are developing applications to adapt. T- marijuana checkup for that particular population. So it's interesting to think about you know having those conversations in the context of another disorder. That's going on and is it and release it to the psychotic episode and released to marijuana use or it's simply a psychotic episode on its own. Yeah well it could have been influenced at cannabis use. It also could just not just occur naturally but oftentimes like around thirty to fifty percent of folks who are experiencing their first. Episode of psychosis are using cannabis. Well that's exciting to hear and quite relevant for us we've tentatively scheduled our next podcast interview with a colleague in the UK around the use of M. I with people who experience a psychotic experiences soaps Maybe a nice segue to to that session. That that we We hope to produce in the next few weeks. Well we are approaching the end of our time here. Maybe arrived at the end of our time but Denise we we really appreciate all of your your wisdom and all of the work that you've been doing and sharing that with us in and I know as as Glenn has mentioned I can speak for myself. It's really stimulated a lot of thought in the work that I do and I would imagine with our listeners as well and how to deliver feedback in a really effective compassionate way. So Denise Denise thank you so much and we also offer our guests. The opportunity or invite guest allow people here less than two podcast. "You. See it on t._v. And and we all celebrate broke with celebrations and sorrow yet. I've never seen a t._v. Michaud somebody go into a counselor seeing are talking to a friend about their emotions and their feelings use them drowning their sorrows raise that does is not good for anybody. What does that teaching our children and it's okay well. Therapist is the greatest thing you can ever producers out. Its teaching them that this is merely a physical or physiological problem when it's not it's a spiritual and and and seeing people having sex and all that kind of stuff is and if they're not married and it's just like oh it's on shows movies overtime book. It's not dangerous and asks dangerous. There's just no there's and and they did they'd never presented that way word for what they show kids that or like that it's so scary and to know and c. b. and hear these kids and what they say at speeches is even scarier that they do not know the ramifications of enacting them most of them. Don't even know that them. Drinking alcohol is legal but they can be arrested for it columbia. What are we teaching. Our are you about that right. It just seems or prevalent or a way deal. Well you know not to belabor this because i want to get to the positive side of this brent but i mean i'm just <hes> <hes> for meeting you and for meeting other people who have overcome alcoholism. I'm not entirely convinced that we aren't and in the west and not just america but <hes> europe. I observed this horribly in in great britain. I'm not convinced that we aren't to some degree an entire society of high functioning alcoholics. You know i now now and i'm not pointing fingers here. I mean in in previous times in my life prior to becoming a bodybuilder physique competitor. I drank <hes> but i never i. I just what was weird for me. It was just like with food like most people can't say i couldn't do what you do because i i love food too much and i'm like i just don't love love food that much i mean yeah i need to eat it but in boosts the same thing i'm like. I'm just not that excited to have another drink. After i've had my first one i have no appetite for it so i'm weird in that regard but but i think an awful lot of people maybe more than we realize they're not staggering in the streets you know waking up with the severe hangovers every every morning alcoholics but they feel some mild degree of dependency on it <hes> for some thing either to loosen up into and to feel better about themselves or whatever i mean. What do you think about that plea agreement hundred percent <hes> you know it's funny because people always i think go kay in alcoholics is somebody that is stumbling in the road and stuff yet if you can't say no to one two three four drinks but you gotta go to a little bit of where you're wasted hammered jordan blackout whatever addition alcoholic you can wipe year if you just get completely loaded you got a problem because you can't stop they just wanted to like. You're talking about your mindset. Get any kind of trouble with it. Has it caused you anything your life arm as a hurt. Somebody in your life was an old key components of something. That's not something that tricks everyday it some general where they need it to to hang out with people to be a social setting to have fun because you don't have drinking and if you're trying to have fun there is a definition of somebody that has an addiction alcohol or any drugs for everything. They can't do anything sober over and of course my say now is we'll. Do you hate yourself that much. Mike yourself enough to do some without something altering in your brain yeah. The emptiness is as well. We all struggle with that. I mean we all have a degree of emptiness..

"You? I don't think Joe Biden drinks, but Joe Biden drunk would be fun. That would actually be one of the videos, I would pay attention to. See Joe Biden with a few pops in them. Honestly between you and me how many drinks do you think it would take Joe Biden before the racial slurs? Started flowing. Nobody drinks. Do you think it would take Joe Biden? Before he starts telling the women who are watching him on Twitter or Facebook or whatever to start whipping their bras around their heads, say three baby four. He seems like he's a three four drink guy before he starts getting real interesting. Also seems like the guy where you could probably smell the gin on his breath through the computer screen. He just seems like one of those guys. He reminds me of every guy that's ever been to any one of my dad's lions club or rotary club meetings. They got the hair plugs. Always have the cocktail and the hand they're usually on the third or fourth wife who is inevitably Asian. And after that fourth Drink Man, you do not want to separate yourself from that person side, you just don't. After drink one. There braggadocious they like to tell you about all of their career accomplishments. What they're lose your children have been doing that. They're very proud of. Additions? They've made to their home. They like to tell you how successful they are how rich they are. After drank too. They continue doing the same thing. Just with a little bit of a slurred of their words. And when they do it. That's when the swearing starts to creep in casually. And that's when they start noticing women in the broom who they're attracted to and pointing that out and that sort of thing. After three drinks. That's they start getting abusive to the staff. That's when the guy with the bread ball isn't coming around fast enough. That's what they start discovering spots on the China. But they're still hold it together for the most part. After drink four. That's when they go from TBS to Showtime. That's why they start talking like they're on a loading dock. Mixed with a red FOX album. But totally profane on every possible level. So if he's going to do a video he can't stop at one beer. He's gotta keep going. It's gotta be happy hour two for one. At least four drinks. "I had this little plastic cement, you know, weight bench which will had back in the day. You know, the guys was under football and stuff and these days it's all steel plates. But back in the day was cement, and those plastic little gimmick things, and my younger brother, Kevin he'd invite all his buddies over and they'd be out to I raise inhale, drink and beer, obviously they were underage. He was a year behind me in high school, and they've been to raise hell I'd open a damn window because I was trying to get my beauty sleep. So I can grow some muscle tissue, fiber and get stronger and better NAT Lennox not say shutoff fuck up eight fuck off and they'd keep part in. But anyway, when I got to college, you know, well, started drinking a little bit more my senior year if you beers. Here and there my first endeavor with beer was when I was older brother, Scott somewhere and hand me a beer, I won't say the name of it. It was a regular bear wasn't a light beer. I thought it tasted like shit. Bear wasn't for me. Then I got an athletic scholarship to Warton gatty junior college. And I became a pretty good friend of beer, and I drink every day, I'm shit bear. There was from the cheapest stuff and world light beer to some of the regular beers and got into the Newcastle. Browns and stuff like that again is stuff from England. But in college and junior, college me, and my buddy, Robert Webb from college station. We really got a liking to that wild Turkey one. Oh one. And man, we drank each shit at that stuff. And I got another scholarship to North Texas state university in Denton, Texas. And then I was so involved in football. Maybe every now and then on weekends. I go get tangled up, and you know, Chit some whiskey here there, but it was mainly bear. Keg beer stuff. Like that. You know, when you go to somebody's place for part? And it was always kick beer, and then got the business pro wrestling. And that's when it was pretty much, a twelve pack or eighteen pack Olympic head eighteen fax back. Then you know, we after we worked at sport tore on Friday night. You know, everybody goes liquor store and jump on a bus veered. Your had we drive all night to Memphis, Tennessee to do TV in the morning. So that was a beer run. And then, you know, basically, my my first few years in the business was pretty much all beer, and then started getting into you know, because of all my hunting getting back into hunting started ranking crown Royal drink a lot of damn crown Royal and always loved the whiskey I'm starting to drink a little bit Jack Daniels now, but in the Jack Daniels got into Botka, and I was bringing a vodka when my wife was a fan I like Martini's lager martinis. So anyway, we've been. Linking him Dan martinis forever. And Kristen had house in Venice still has it. And we were sitting her backyard with the chimney. I go on a little bitty started logs in there, and we put a little bit of Ken Lynnwood in there to keep a fire going, and we'd have you know, two three four drinks. And I barely would have to what Chris she was working regular job. She was teaching every day. And so I kind of corrupted her to two hundred grease. She was already drinking. But once I moved in it kind of turned into a lot more frequent occasion. It's just we really enjoyed sitting outside looking at the stars..

"Eighth grade delivered in art book. Dave l. Dan whiskey, Illinois. I'm on the fifty-six. They stinks. Stinks. I don't I know. don't know. I'm done. I learned a very low amount of playing. I'm going to keep me done being on mostly monetary terribly in the Wisconsin season. I'm on the over of state, Ohio and Purdue over sixty six and a half. I'll states off a bye. I like Saito not awful by they play Minnesota. They got it. Well. Everybody. Everyone's football is NATO Sioe state. Ohio has a by next week, got a little bit of a flex tons of plays. We know Jeff Brown from his west Kentucky's western Kentucky days. Give me the over and that one f r you. I haven't game. Rice was horrific. Last week UAB buried them. Butch Jones is a better quarterback. Sorry is a better coach, Rice's quarterbacks out. Give me in a blow out when rice loses. They lose big. I'm on the over in Memphis, Missouri over seventy four. I think Cal has to win this game going to Corvallis a game. They got to win. I don't think they're very good. I don't like laying schedule anymore to be totally. All right. All right. I like UCF minus twenty one. They're going to be pissed about the the rankings you ECU. They're going to ECU. They're actually on a different quarterback than they have been for the rest of the year. And the two, I really love or Utah state. Since I missed last week, it's a double lock, go to Utah state get that down to fourteen. We'll buy the point there and the first half, how can you really love somebody have the by a point. Metaphorical question. I if you love them, you should write fourteen or fifteen. If they take their foot off the gas late in the game, and you're on the right side the hallway, twenty eight, twenty one. Now, the third, four drinking is the football just land. Football number landowner, football number. Yep, absolutely. So Utah state started off hot against everybody in a game against Michigan state twenty one seven. Verse BYU who is obviously pretty good. They beat Wisconsin. Was not even twenty one twenty one seven at the hand. They BYU leading BYU they'll use various bits misleading misleading scores. Yeah, Utah. State is burying teams. Wyoming is one hundred twenty eight points scored eighty eight rush offense hundred and twenty two day. They're bad verse, the pace and Utah stake a really sling it. The kid. Jordan love has fourteen thousand three picks, and he threw two in the first game of the season. So he's actually on a thirteen o ter here I talked to it is homecoming in Wyoming. I talked to Shannon in the ticket office. The reported attendance is half. So that goes to show you what's going on in Wyoming. People are abandoning, they're out. They're out there done. Yeah. So gimme gimme, Utah state in that one. I was on Fresno state before. It was cool to be on Fresno state so they were going to bury UCLA. They did. That's thirteen and a half. You don't have to buy anything on that New Mexico and Bob Davie they'd go to Notre Dame. God respect on Dave's games, pass than bud, Fresno state. Probably the best defense that New Mexico is going gonna play, and that includes Wisconsin because Fresno. I think right now it's clicking even better. They can swing the ball. They got the lowest points allowed eight and yards allowed, and twelve and pass yards. Allow New Mexico does not want to throw the ball. There were running team when they have to. They're going to, they're going to struggle. So I also think the biggest match mismatch ear is Fresno. Cornerback skip. Sorry, wide receiver. Skip Olson and New Mexico has one of the most undersized wide receiver in the kid, Todd, all quiz. That's gonna be a mismatch all day. So gimme Fresno. Gimme. Fresno. Lay in the thirteen and a first-half endgame. But you said so much stuff to track all quest. I felt like we had to. Is that a real name? Yes. He's a real tough question. Yes. How do you spell all quest l. q. you make? That's the guy from this guy from breaking bad in Friday lights. I don't think I mean. Guy that was the talian New Mexico. I've been out for a little while he did. He made up a guy that's that's Olson Israel, though, for Fresno. So let me get this straight. Three weeks of embarrassing yourself..

"Call it six versus eight hours. And when I wake up, I'm awake versus feeling groggy for an hour to hour and a half which can be remedied somewhat by the psychological advantage of exercising in the morning, which is one thing I've been scheduling to do more of per Jaakko Willink. Retired navy seal commander and all around. Yeah, intense intense accomplished guy. People could find him to blog for its Jaakko first ever public interview. I'm thrilled to unleashed the giant white gorilla on the internet and. Baseline though to return to your question is really something I try to keep simple as possible. Do I have I measured all those other things? Yes, but I think that whether it's with your body or with a business. Or any number of other things. It's really easy to become addicted to measuring things that don't matter very much or. Were still measuring things that will distract you from the things that do matter. Does that make sense? Yeah, totally make sense. Yeah. I've, I've tried to pair it down to just stuff. I really care about sent you a link in our video chat to my dashboard for the things I measure every day. Cool. So for me, you know, I'm really concerned about Mike Lucas levels because they are a tiny bit hell elevated. So I do waking glucose bedtime glucose. I do whether I meditated that day or not. I do how many hours I fasted the night prior, do how many drinks I've had. And then I do what type of workout, whether I had tier coffee that day, and then my food but food not in terms of kind of a bike by the calorie, you know, super anal kind of breakdown, but really just typing out what I ate for that day as a way to hold myself accountable and just like, look over the last few days at a glance and see if I've been behaving or not. So I find that just the act of ride. It down makes me behave a little bit better. It does. That was gonna be my question is how does that actually impact your behavior? Yeah, this is a fascinating question. I I've, I didn't experiment here about three weeks ago with the group of five friends, and I asked them all, I created this spreadsheet that we all logged into every single day and what you do is record the number of drinks you had the night before, and I was thinking about turning this into an app, although I'm not going to do it, but I was interested in trying to create social pressure to drink less drink, more drink less in. The thing that I found that was really interesting is that if you drink over two drinks and a night, people have some shame in reporting that, and so they will miss report. So you know, if you went out and you had like four or five drinks, it's like, I don't wanna be the guy that had the one on the spreadsheet. Right, exactly. So. So I changed then. So the spreadsheet would only say two plus. And so that's the max you could go. And then people were a lot more like open to being my. I had two plus last night. There were a lot more at ease, but still create a little bit of social pressure, impersonal pressure. If you looked at your listener like, ooh, there's been four nights of two plus there. I should probably do a night without drinking, right? So my idea was to create an app that would allow you just to say up to two plus and see all of your friends in the same arena, and then kind of hopefully encourage you to build a drink socially, but not take it too far? Yeah, the springs up all sorts of really fascinating and frustrating methodological questions in terms of designing this type of reporting. Right? Because I was thinking to myself as you're saying this. Well, if you had a larger group, say group of two hundred people, you would have one would expect you would have more people in that group reporting drinking two, three, four drinks on any given night, right? So the shame factor. Would be decreased. But if you decrease the shame factor that also decrease the incentive to actually behave. Right? Because you can blend into this right or seved acceptability of being like, well, the ten other people at of two hundred four drinks last night. That's totally fine. We'll the question is like, how do you know the people? How tight are they are and you're kind of social connections in your peer group..

An ongoing business can never occupy the. White House because of the inherent conflicts, of interest I don't think. We want that but I. Will grant, you it's a little complicated it's a little weird I. Think the, old, Trump hotel thing people were making much ado about nothing but I get their argument it's? In the day it had, been very easily, people selling fraudulent vomit So apparently there's a certain number of, Uber drivers, I don't know. How many are doing it but they will you will be informed, hours or days after your ride than an adjustment, has been made to the cost to be right Got your credit card information or whatever Because you vomited in my car and it's going to cost somewhere between eighty and one hundred. And, we, were joking back and forth, that I'd be tempted to like, like jerk back and, forth if I, got drugs back to try to make compute if I'm gonna make six hundred, bucks every. Time it happens but so there are a number. Of people that say hey I wasn't drunk and they, found a way to prove it either. They they didn't take a, ride that. Time of night. They weren't even there or I don't. Drink and then you. Gotta get some people to verify. That sort of stuff But you know you you get a group of three four. Drunk chicks drunk dudes that are hammered at three o'clock in the morning the, bars are, closed. That sorta stuff it'd be pretty easy to claim one of them threw. Up and who's going to say that Jimmy didn't throw up right we, all, having a good done. Right and he hit him with the extra Bill so, apparently that's that fraud can happen watch out for it I'm. Rolling up to windows I'm turning up the heat and, jerk, in the car, back and forth they'll somebody heaves past the point in, my life where I'm ever in an Uber at. Two thirty in the morning so you're not, going to get great ratings if you do that very often I guess Swerving to make people, throw it The five stars tonight. Keep. "Know maybe i'm gonna try to see how i do without marijuana no i'd cortana there places i fan um surgery ipad i mean it not like you know i'm a decade i can't went out malcolm about why would not get into bed every night i ended up a little ball aptitude 12hour three south the parking our day ran out the way i pray lack get instant address wait a guy fucking power play well i'm i'm glad that it works for you but the the question really would be do you do you would you a leaving aside your son's disability i don't know if you have other children do you think it's better for people to smoke every day or not in other words if if someone was asking you your advice based on your experience well i don't really see what the problem is i'm not a drinker i think it probably better fear then um drinking every day we'll certainly dead better than drinking to excess but here's here's the basic point is is that in other words what troubles me about this is a lot of people who are very were geller pot smokers understand and they frequently will repeat well drinking is terrible and and by the way i do think if you need for your happiness and to get through your life you need to have three four drinks every day that's probably bad it's certainly bad for your health and people would say that's a dependency but you don't see that your dependent on marijuana after smoking for thirty five years no cause by quitting for another month it wouldn't be in a hail okay so you you do it because you like it listen i monique you know you're on situation much better than i do and i would propose to the question that i would have is the the whole idea of encouraging this particular habit the the notion that there is a majority of people who say that marijuana use should be legalised okay do you think it's a good idea for more people to become marijuana smokers and become dependent on marijuana and i would submit that somebody who is smoking every day like the people in the study is dependent when we come back we are all too dependent on government i think.

"You wouldn't wonder at the teaching you're hearing i've gotten pressure from former staff former elders i had lunch one time with a college president who wanted to meet me i didn't know him we went out for lunch together ten minutes into the lunch he started in he had heard that i believe in total abstinence from alcohol and that's what i practice and he spent the rest of the lungs just pounding me about this the the the and whenever this teaching from twelve years ago goes on the radio for walk in the word it goes insane i'm like don't give me any male don't give me an email the selfrighteous angry response from people i've already told you i'm going to teach you would i believe if you believe differently i love you and the lord but i'm not going to hold back the warning uh out of the certainly not out of fear the bible says that the fear of men brings a snare and and you should be able to receive if you're right you should be able to receive the warning without that victory all iq reaction it it concerns me i hear about young adults in our church come to an event here the church it's nothing for young adults in our church to go out for two three four drinks together with other young adults in our church after an event that greatly concerns me young adults are making the most important decisions about their life about their career about their purity about their partner.
