"Overwhelmingly. Don't want party registration they wanted they wanted to maintain their independence street and they did not want parties registration The biggest question rejet. For the President Primary, which is the only primary, every four years where you have to ask for one or the other and we do that four. For absentee as well. He declared which one you want doesn't necessarily mean that the party that you belong to you support, but it just says that this is the ballot you want we get more. Angry calls and emails about why I have to fit the party. I don't want anyone to know what party I support or whatever and and we could not read there have to do it. Whole. Hog. or we would have to. We couldn't do it partway. We couldn't say okay for those that. Don't know we'll send you three and for those that do will send you one. That would be an A. A. Nightmare for the town clerk's to. Keep. Track of going forward. So I think we we have to have a debate. We have to have this discussion we will and he about ways that we can improve this process I certainly. Support at it I've never you know coming as someone who comes from private sector. I had over thirty years of experience. You know when a fortune one, hundred company of of a regulated utility in a hundred million dollar family owned business here in Vermont. I can honestly say that that there are many different things that we have to do. We also have to consider cross we're printing envelope four, hundred and fifty thousand envelopes. and if you start adding color to it, that adds another -nother cost on top of that Joke Wean. I will tell you that. The other the other issue thing save that. May Have happened we don't know for sure but the town I was supposed to put in what we call a bunch lift, which is a printers term of meeting an instruction sheet simple simplified construction. There's already the one that's on the on the ballot on the valid envelope, but there's also put a lien simplified concise clear instruction cheat in there. Now I know that my Mind Salad did not arrive with. A she. Just what was on was on the ballot envelope itself I can't tell you how many other do that but those ballots those out absentee ballots sent out by individual clerks who all the different people who requested them. For this. Election we are sending those centrally and we will. Every ballot envelope will have a clear concise set of instructions included in it. So we're taking that step ahead of time that's the one thing that I can say that you know we have we have learned that that aspect of it, but it hasn't been as big a problem in the past this time I think a lot of they said first time voters and for the primary edits and the primary can be computer. Let's see. Are. and. What we need to, we need to take a call Jim Berries on the line waiting patiently good morning. Jim. Good, morning. I just tuned in. So I apologize already addressed this, but I had heard and I can't even tell you it was in Vermont or not but the, you've got to print the Bar Code on the envelope in the ballots, the envelope that was originally sent out so that you can. Cross reference the ballots, the name to make sure there's only one ballot coming from that I is that accurate And if it is doesn't that threaten The secrecy of the ballot. Well first of all, there's only going to be It's not on the ballot. There's nothing on the ballot who identify ru who voted that ballot. In fact, if and we've had this happen before someone will print their name were signed the ballot when that happens that that's the defective ballot because it does it violates the sanctity of privacy. what we are doing with the certificate envelope, which you already have to print your name and you already have to sign is on the. Excuse me on the backside. We're going to have the main and and the voter ID number, our system of and a bar code word on that outside of that envelop. So the clerks when they process a mill, just able to process some very quickly using most of the search in fact, I think all have a lawn. I don't know if they all use it or not, but they all have A. Barcode reader. One that they news to update their participation report So With the ballot itself was still be private there will be no way that anybody no less they open the envelope and look at it and match it up and say, well. Go. Show ghost though Smith voted for himself but that isn't supposed to happen That's why you have two people opening those ballots were. opened. The ballot tastes the ballot out upside down and hands it to the next person leader deposited in the in the ballot box, a secure ballot box, the get all intermingled so. This is really no different than signing, but they still have to sign it. But. So the barcodes only on one of the items then thank you very much. Thanks for the call Jim. Appreciate it. One thing I'm wondering about this Jim condos is If I get curious I sort of. One of these middle moments like holy cow that I do it right Is there any way to check back and I call it my city clerk and say, Hey, was my vote recorded Actually, you can find out if your ballot was A. Defective or not or if it was processed. by going to the my voter pays on our elections website the my voter pages unique pay website for each and every registered voter in the state of remind we have on that ages your address where. Where you vote what's the colocation is who you're counter is you can get a sample ballot you can request your early vote ballots, all these different things that are there, and there's also attacking mechanism. which a lot of people just learn really about. But there is a taxing mechanism that will tell you when one the counselor to seize your order for early ballot. When she sent year, he's scented out when they received back and then it's status. That's really interesting. I mean I guess that's one thing that. I would. Will actually coming up to the general election is all these concerns about the post office and so on and slow mail, and so somebody let's say sends in a male a mail in ballot on October twenty fifth for the November thirty election and..

"Know dealing with it and they haven't been exposed yet or they haven't been sick yet, so they don't see any reason to do at something now. There's some kind of disconnect between how they're feeling about it and what they should know based on what experts are saying. Okay, we will have linked to the full poll in our show notes Fewer Guan. As well to take a look at those numbers, there is strong support for absentee voting, and the state is really split with a whole lot of undecided when it comes to the issue is down the average five pipelines and crushes the Straits of mackinac. covid nineteen in packed everything about Michigan and the nation one concern. What does it do for voting in November? We're getting more answers this week. One came from Secretary of state. Jocelyn Benson Yeah. This is a pretty amazing number. The number of people requesting absent t ballots is up by one million from twenty sixteen, the number of returned applications in two thousand sixteen at this point, three, hundred seventy. Seventy eight thousand this year, the member of returned applications, one, million, three, hundred, twenty, three, thousand. That is just an amazing number. People are really digging, proposal, three and the ability to vote from home. I've got my ballots sitting on the table right now. Yes, it's really exciting. Especially for those of us who have been in on the no reason absentee fight for a long time I mean. We've been talking about this for fifteen or twenty years trying to get no reason absentee or even even things like instant runoff, so the fact that we have no reason absentee now and you see numbers like this I. Think Really Validates everything we've done. It's a shame we didn't get it before it. And especially with the the pandemic. It's important for health reasons, but you know it was intimidating before when people would tell you if you WanNa have an absentee ballot. You've got to say that you're going that. One of these conditions applies and people were comfortable saying that. Our fishing, the prospect of a delus- of absentee ballots, and that's a real challenge for local clerks. State Law doesn't allow the local course to start processing absentee ballots until the polls close at eight o'clock on election day envelopes have to be open ballots removed and unfolded and then fed into tabulate. That will take time and I've talked with the lynching city clerk Chris Swope, and in the city, the size of lighting he anticipates about forty thousand ballots meaning they've got open forty thousand envelopes on election night. Unfold them and stuff them with machines and net begin any of this until eight o'clock at night state representative Carla Hope. Whose district includes parts of he is the lead sponsor of a bill that would change the timeline, so that initial preparation work could begin earlier. Many we get the results earlier. They wouldn't count the ballots early, but they would get them ready to be counted. I talk with her about her. Bill should be a no brainer, but for some reason it's become very very partisan representative hoped. What are the concerns about the November election in terms of the vibe of the absentee ballots what he wanted to do about it? Well a few things we would like to give clerks more time to probably just process the absentee ballots that just needs had opening them and getting them ready to go through the tabulating. That doesn't mean counting Hurley I think there's some information out there about that some more time, and then more money would be great to help either way equipment or humans or Now this is something obviously that you've dealt with for a long time. At least indirectly, your husband's been a township now for it seemingly forever on an awful lot of elections. Your district includes lansing the city clerk there says he's expecting forty thousand absentee ballots yet. He can't even start in the envelopes until the evening of the election he. Just opening the envelopes unfolding the ballots is quite a task. It's a big task gets a big JAB at takes a lot of. Personal hours and hardly concern is that if we were to have late election results in. That has been a problem so far three, but this is our probably our first big tests to see how Michigan clerks able to cope with the day luge of abnormality, so if we were to have laid results, that could you know? They could create some doubt in people's minds where we've been spoiled Michigan always getting results fairly quickly. It's not just for the candidates, even though you know as a candidate, I can relate to waiting for election results. It's really for the public to have assurance of their votes being counted. Everything's on the and it doesn't help that we have people in high positions that are kind of casting on on our election system, one of the challenges for a lot of clerks I don't think so much within your own district, but around the state is the lack of high-speed tabulates. Once they have these ballots opened and unfolded. They've gotta run through machine wondered a time, and if you don't have a high speed Tabula later, that could take a long time. Yeah it, it can take a long time. We are fortunate here Delhigh I told you there are. There's at least one high speed tabulated I. think landing has some as well it's. Time to the process or Large communities who are dealing with a large number of ballots who don't have those resources at their disposal. There was bells part of the reason that my colleague and I. My my neighbor on the House floor representative, Leslie love from Detroit by interests. The package that we did back in February. They'll.

yes I don't know if you watch any of it hopefully it in because it was just appalling I I was sending text with a couple of my friends yesterday and I said at first I says you know this is a great promo for C. span that they're doing all day long and after about another hour of watching and I texted my friends again with apologies route to C. span because this is this is actually gonna hurt C. span's ratings in the long run people gonna watch this and never turned back to C. span again that's how that's how much fun it is that's about it it's extraordinary but the Democrats I noticed they come out and they they the Democrats this year all politicians here's team Democrat it's all elected liars Adam Schiff and a bag of fly show the penguin and Hakim Jeffries has really stepped up in the lying from his learn to lie for his party pretty well he lies all the time now with great comfort and he's and and the and the Republicans have a bunch of lawyers and you see the lawyers are all being attacked now they're being attacked in The Washington Post are being attacked by MSNBC morning joke joke Scarborough and what a clown that boy is and and other attacking the lawyers at and what a confederacy of dunces this moron Joe Scarborough because the lawyers as some of the greatest lawyers in the world and a dog they're a confederacy of dunces and the Democrat congressman up there making stuff up aren't a confederacy of dunces I mean again when everything you believe to be true is false and everything you believe to be false is true that you're officially a Democrat for life it's extraordinary all but the on the all the lawyers for the Republicans they speak in in different terms on a different tone than the politicians speak and they're looking at this as a legal case the Democrats are looking at it as a dumpster to set on fire to an opportunity critic great snippets for campaign ads it is a campaign year an election year after all and and they come out and they just burn everything down attack everybody and call your murderers and rapists and traders and things like that and then the Republican side comes up and their attorneys and they speak in legal terms very calm they're very certain about what they say they're on emotional and of course the news media uses the sound bites from the screaming shrill liars because they're screaming troll liars at CNN and and be on to and so that's what I like birds of a feather and all that stuff and they use their shrill loud and it's a lie and they don't fact check yeah yeah you know whatever it's a he said it so they use it it's our congressmen but there is this this and it's and it's a mismatch it that that's that's mismatch on a couple of different levels and and in some way it may even eat it may even out but the Democrats again they sent out politicians the Republicans sent out attorneys totally different approaches from the two teams completely different tone that one side measured the other reckless send loud and dishonest and error again ten self serving and the other there are people who are looking at they got the Chief Justice they're respectful they're deferential when the Chief Justice says time the Republican stop immediately and and I shudder shorts yesterday turned to the chair who is the Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts and did a little bit of a bow kind of a little Bronco BAMMA bow brag about was going around bowing to everybody in the world and the news media was lying about it no he's not value just keeps dropping cufflinks everywhere he goes lost a contact again this time with the the Saudi carrying out really kids bowing to every he bowed to the mayor of Tampa river that he got out of a place she's issues Asian so when I got off the plane he walked over and gave a deep bow like she was the emperor of Japan like Kay I'm Chinese let me alone as extra going around about him behind everybody but he was he was it was the Bollywood tour Bow Wow is all about and and any of that's when he was touring the world apologizing for us extraordinary as runners to avoid got some audio from yesterday's festivities and these guys these guys they if they're talking on their line that's it's quite extraordinary extra ordinary Joe Scarborough who doesn't have two brain cells to rub together anymore any any married that that inflatable thing and he's got a TV show on cable somewhere I can't remember where it is he also types he used to be apparently a Republican now he hates the world because he's a lefty and when you switch parties you have to hate everybody and that his jump right in with both feet he typed up a little piece for the Democratic Party they had it at first it might have been Stockholm syndrome but that time has long since passed he's the Manchurian candidate the headline in The Washington Post from mo Yarborough this morning trump's confederacy of dunces as confederacy of dunces the first sentence from Joe Scarborough is a confederacy of dunces stumbled into the Senate on to the Senate floor this week to launch their bewildering defense of president trump he doesn't understand complex concepts is not very smart the misfit band of lawyers brought with them arguments so stunningly stupefying stunningly stupefying doesn't really matter logic to so fatally flawed and cynicism so brazenly transparent that one suspects Baghdad Bob was viewing the entire spectacle with grudging respect now that is just so off the rails mentally ill that I don't even know how to respond to it well of course I know how to respond to it but I had said your rhetorical device these attorneys the former Solicitor General of the United States of America judge can start good chair of a law school did that no no no big deal there world renowned lawyer is brought in for gigantic cases all over the world if it involves US law you have professor emeritus of law at Harvard University Harvard Law School that out Alan Dershowitz he's is he one of the dunces yes he is you say because they will do anything and say anything to defend the party there there really like suicide bombers for the party and they have no integrity Joe Scarborough has zero integrity he's not a serious matter is not an honest man he's really bitter and angry yeah he used to be friends with trump any feels jilted again as the high school cheerleader and and to the quarterback and trumps the quarterback can chose the cheerleader obviously many feels jolted and and is if he carries a garage like a high school girl so he's a bit her a little small man and and this is a space of The Washington Post published not not not not not not not not there and that's what the news media's doing I played some audio to this effect yesterday that the the they're attacking the lawyers and that see that's because I mean again it's the old and Alan Dershowitz is sometimes credited with the saying if the laws on your side pound the law if the facts are on your side pound the facts if neither the law nor the facts are on your side pounded the desk and that's what mo Yarborough's doing here he is pounding the desk and they're angry bitter people and they're just not well adjusted to the world I live in extraordinary absolutely extraordinary stuff Democrats so much you get ten I'll be I'll be getting to does some of the impeachment stuff got this lead part as guide the Ukrainian what is it with the Democrats and Ukrainians but once again there in bed with Ukraine you know Joe Biden gets rich there hunter Biden gets rich there I've got some great audio from its Eric Hirschman again isn't very strong very strong this guy is the lawyer I honestly and he's a this guy is a powerhouse one of the president's lawyers and I commented on him yesterday when he was up day before yesterday but yesterday he came out again and boy I was like I rewound it to listen to it a second time I brought my best girl and I said leaders this this Eric guy again he's great and we sat there and listened to him and I and and so we Michael she was able to secure that audio so that we can share it with you and you don't have to watch seventeen hours of speaking of stultifying but there it is and Democrats this is how insane Democrats are just another crazy Democrats are not only are man who think they're lesbians at the university of Michigan taking the lesbian arts and crafts group to the bias response team well well I mean is this a satire of a country yeah kind of but it's what the left has done and in pretty short order too thanks to Barack Obama largely and Hillary Clinton Hillary Clinton said she's never had a lesbian affair everything she says is a lie is a just everything after what time it is and shall live yeah extra butter is the Democrats say that they are men who say they're lesbians because they say their women want to be part of the lesbian arts and crafts group at the university of Michigan but the lesbian arts and crafts group said no so now the lesbian arts and crafts group is being accused of anti lesbian bias because they won't allow trans lesbians into the lesbian arts and crafts group now not so many years ago the whole country would have laughed out loud at this this would have been a Saturday Night Live skit now it's the Democrat party and Saturday Night Live not funny they said I live stop being funny because how can you satirize the real world when it satirizing itself extraordinary does one Democrat story here's another one for six arrested in seven million dollar drug bust released thanks to new York's new ban on cash bail just the Democrats have figured out the problem and they fixed it six men arrested in connection with running a massive drug ring including reportedly harboring millions of dollars in illegal Fenton all were released Wednesday morning without bail due to new York's crazy new law banning cash bail court in New York Daily News a list of the six people were all charged with criminal possession controlled substance and criminal using drug paraphernalia after police have busted up their drug ring and seized an estimated seven hundred and fifty thousand envelopes stuffed with heroin and Fenton all from a Bronx apartment the hall has an estimated street value of about seven million dollars even still all six arrestees were released Tuesday without bail thanks.

"Yes Sir Freddie. I'm I'm excited sided about today show. Are you gonNA rant are you. I'm finished everything like feeling like I just like. I sit back Galloway. Just relax. Let's go I'm. I don't know I don't I don't know how like heated. I'm GonNa get because when his topic came to me. I was pissed man all right you want explained at all or how how it came about how deep you want to go and all that like. I think we should get pretty deep. I think that we should just rip off the band aid. We did a show as guru really worth the hype I mean I think that episode eleven I think it was you know I I think we pull back to scab and we have a real conversation with our listeners right now because I want them to know. They have somebody in their corner. Okay Okay and here's here's where I'm going with this. You said being your own boss right and so sometimes you're going to make decisions for your business that doesn't coincide with your Guru Okay and I'm GONNA throw this out here if any gurus are listening or their people you're listening to ask me get when call me. We can have a conversation about it but if you're coaches are telling you the only products you can use are the products that your coach teaches or your your guru sponsors. You need to get new coach because you are your own business owner so I I have had a guy this week. We I don't remember what we're consultant caller just a in passing conversation about this and he goes men my my my coaches are the head guy and his eight or ten coaches underneath him that he has they flamy in our private group because I wanted to use offers to owners he said I don't want to set up mail at my house. What am I supposed to do and I'm like US offers donors? If that's what you WANNA do for your business we we mentioned that on our commercial on Wednesday show offers donors we truly US offers to owners. It's not hey use this because we're not giving you a discount code for. We're merely telling you a service that we believe in <hes> and so I have never met any of never met Markowski. I use Geek Bay. I think it's a great product. It's better than what I have. It's reasonably priced Scott. Don't know the man I use Land Mojo MHM. I use him in conjunction with a lot other stuff. It's a great product parcel fact I like parcel fact I get it with my Land Academy membership. Is there other stuff out there. Tear stride saw that this week for the first time looks like a quality product. It's expensive when you when you buy her state. There's a nationwide plan I. I don't know what the prices on it. I'll figure that out and look at it but it's good parlay works as well so this guy he his. They're telling you need to set up his own postage his own printing. Printing services on envelopes his own stamps why so essentially what you're saying they told him just to be clear on this they told him to buy a printer print out all his offers mainly stuff zone envelopes right around put a stamp on it yeah because it was going to be like forty cents to it that way versus him sending it to offers owners and spending fifty nine cents with them and just having to click three times a blow to files click twice and put your credit card information. Has Anybody ever seen what three thousand envelopes looks like. It's a lot yeah. It's <hes> do the math ahead real quick so it's five hundred per. I don't know their ten inches by six inches so you got about four foot by two foot sitting in your office well then. Let's not just a mention. Let's say you know our average mailers over fifteen hundred for me for you fifteen hundred thousand can you imagine the time it would take too but fifteen hundred manually do it well from March to beginning of June. I think Iran twenty-something pieces of male twenty thousand pieces of male well. I would not want that in my house. I've got a one year old that crawls. He's GONNA walk up and if it's boxes open he's pulling it out throwing it on the ground. Yeah I told you this before so I if I was taught to manually do it all myself time I quit I would quit I mean and this is it's sickening to me that we have people in this niche that are in a position where they can help people and they they hurt their business because this person is coming to you looking for ideas suggestions and things to do it. I I'll be the first to admit I don't know anything. I don't know everything. Somebody may teach me about a tool tomorrow and I'd love to share it with y'all just because hey this is cool. It looks good. It may work but if somebody says the only way you can work with us if you do this it's because because they're making money off you lead brings to the point of the show ride as you're the boss of your own company you make the choices on what you're gonNA use right and if someone's telling you you need to use this well you need to step back as the business owner and decide if that's that's right for your company or not exactly right right. That's where we're going with all this yeah I agree. I just can't worked up man. I felt like it's trying to started to go off of what the topic was compared to why we're angry about it yeah no I I'm with you and I get I get get worked up when I see people who are in a position of wanting to learn and try to do better for themselves and try to make that scale that come up in there or pushed into away. That's not necessarily the best way for them right now. We we have used just certain tools from different organizations at different groups. We've found new tools that we like. We have some that we use because we have for free you know and that's that's part of it. Being a business owner is saying okay. Hey what is my operating plan. Look like you know for each my the sales the the acquisition actual piece of the engineering the deal or the you know that the sell side you know whatever that looks like going through the whole process. Do you have that on paper. Do you know what it is. Do you have your checklist. You have your tools in place. You know Ma'am <hes> Brian our intern. We're talking talking about this this week for his company's gear up and he's he's moving to the full-time position of you know fulltime land investor. He's been doing it for five months now. He cuts away from us is into with us for five yeah. He's been with us for five months so he he leaves us as an intern an leaves the service and he's GonNa be fulltime land but we wanted to make sure he had some of his checklist in place and if I told him that you can only use this for your business. Would that be doing him a service or disservice well. I guess it depends on the tool itself but for the most part probably disservice I mean hey you've got to advertise with us but we're GONNA charge you five hundred dollars a month for this. We have tools that we teat that we use that we teach people with right but that's because it word us know many things for great but we also show people other other wants to use but even then if we can show you everything but as the business owner you needed side it's right for you know in this one was just with stamps stamps and how to set up your auto mailer with the C._R._M.. That in place versus you just put into documents together and going another big sticking point for a lot of people's data you know what's the right data source to us. What do you need and data? How good is the data? How fresh is it is an old? Is it new. What's your cost? Ultimately cost is the big thing so we could lay it all out I. I think that does a great job elaine all the different data sources that he talks about he has five different choices there for you and do I think for raw land the best right now Israel quest I do. It's probably the most expensive for most people is they're cheaper ways to do it. And can you still make it can happen yeah. I feel like requests Kinda hard for just the average investor just to go get yeah. I realized data tree for for that purpose because it's it's easy to get out of tree yeah and he have agent pro a lot of people use and at the end of the day you WanNa know the A._p._N.. You WanNa know the owners information where their mailing lists you want to address to be good. You want the <hes> A._p._N.'s assize the property match and then it to be the right zoning or to know that it's vacant if that's what you're shopping yeah well. If we're talking about data you want the did you say recent yeah the freshest yeah yeah yeah the freshest yeah freaky forgive fresh news yeah but besides US pointing out and tell you what do right it doesn't matter any aspect of the business as the business owner. You need to like sit down. I don't know what what did you do once a month once a week. Whatever you look at what you're doing and decide it makes sense for you for your business? Are you overpaying. Are you paying too much. Can you get more out of it. Is there a better service is I'll just the analytical parts of being a boss and thinking about the growth of your company thing about the future of it where it's GonNa go what you need to do and how you're gonNA lead it and if you're relying on someone else to tell you to mirror after them then it's just not gonNA work. You're setting yourself up failure your their employees and that's the that's the different mindset between being in Boston employee and that was the one of the things as being a manager in corporate America are being in and it was the director level and a fortune. One fifteen executive level small company is that some people didn't understand why you would test other methods on the outside because what happens if you know Heaven Forbid I'm stuck on parlay and parley shuts down now. What do I do and I don't know what else is out there? You have to have those alternatives and those though segues you should have your business built completely from start to finish two different ways in my opinion and that's take it for what it's worth but I've ran multiple operations to know that hey if something happens here. I need to be able to pivot to this other one pretty quickly. The second piece of that is have a budget reduction plan. What happens if you lose your job and you have to do this full-time? Can you have a budget reduction plan for your.
