Bill Barnwell on Bears versus Packers

"Watching bears and packers and aaron rodgers to the surprise of literally. Nobody just decimated the bears and mitch trubisky forty one to twenty five so i wanna turn this conversation to the horse race. The mvp conversation because there really hasn't been a wire-to-wire front runner. This whole time. We've seen the pendulum kind of swing. Russell wilson kyle murray. Was there for hot. Second mahomes obviously and aaron rodgers who remains squarely in the thick of it after an off season full of drama around jordan. Love being drafted at quarterback and yet there is aaron rodgers just dominating again robert tanya and guys at touchdown to robert tanya made aaron rodgers the eleventh. Qb in nfl. History to pass for more than fifty thousand yards the second-fastest so where are you on. The whole rogers ram vp. Okay so i. I'm inclined to pick. Patrick mahomes by choice right now. And i think the only thing separating those two with russell wilson third is that one disastrous game. Rogers had against the bucks earlier this season. And i think if you're going to make a case for rodgers. Mvp to start with the idea that he's doing more with less and mahomes has to work with. And wilson has to work with the homes of course has a dominant group of receivers with Terry travis kelsey leading the way. Russell wilson has decay metcalf and tyler lockett and we talked about this before the season. Rogers has devante adams and a lot of question marks. Rogers has injuries and opt-outs affecting his receiving corps from week to week and on top of that. The guys who are extra showing up are posting the second highest drop rate for any quarterback in the league and yet when you put rodgers back there even against a very good defense which the bears are. There are stretches this year. He looks absolutely untouchable. The bears had no answers for him on sunday night. So the other

The proposal calls for hauling the mess from the dump site along south. Central Expressway to the McCullough's bluffed landfill on Youngblood road a quarter mile away the lowest bid from Roberts trucking in Dallas was for four, hundred, fifty, thousand dollars records show the highest bid. was three point, three, million dollars

How To Generate High-Value Leads On LinkedIn

"My guest today is Matt Kark. That is the founder of the virtual edge and CO creator of the rainmaker system. An online marketing system that helps coaches, advisers and consultants get two to five times. Hi I'm sorry. Let me start that over again. Two to five high value leads per day from Lincoln without paying for ads. and His business partner have helped over a thousand businesses in seventeen countries grow exponentially. There's three step approach places human connection at its core paving the way for a new wave of lead generation marketing. Virtual. Edge is a multimillion dollar company and they have helped their clients grow to six and seven figures without paid advertising. Which I find fascinating, which is why wanted out to be here today. So thanks for joining me today, Matt. Thank you for having me on. I'm excited to be here. I am thrilled to have you here and I saw this subject is so fascinating for me because I. Feel like I. See a lot of people doing things incorrectly unlinked in and like especially now that we're in the situation where people can't be face to face. Right. So this you know human connection at its core, it is interesting for me but. I want to start with if you would define what Yael believe is a high value lead. Yeah, brilliant. I love that question because most people Wayne, they say leads and especially on. Lincoln. They talk about connections and they talk about how many potential people you're going to reach out to. But that's not really elite. That's just the beginning part of the process. So for me hide that you lead is somebody that has gone unchecked profile. That has been specifically targeted. You've had a conversation with them and you shared with them. What results you can help people like them achieve they say, yes they're interested in talking and you get an email address himself a number that's what I consider lead. And at somebody that is going to be that's lead first of all but a high value lead is someone that you're selling something to fall. You know at least three thousand dollars. Okay, that's interesting. Okay. So that's sort of the benchmark then. Yeah clean okay. Sell. It fit based on that it feels to me like knowing your ideal client is really really important. So you could differentiate between high value lead someone who just might be a good connection for you yes. So. Will you talk some about I? Mean I'm all about defining your ideal client, but for the listeners, will you talk about why that is so important? Hundred percent and you know like you said I mean it's one of the most important things that you can actually do right and. Getting clear on your ideal client will determine a couple of things if it's like, maybe I can take a step back. If you're trying to target everybody, it's very difficult to create a compelling message to get out into the marketplace. Because you don't know what they want and what they're trying to achieve. So if you get laser focused on an ideal client and instead of Trying to use a shotgun from you know five hundred yards are a thousand yards, use a sniper rifle and you're going off to that one ideal client. You can dive deep into are as a person. Instead of just thinking of them as. A prospect potential clients you dive into who they are as a person. When you do that, it allows you to understand who they are and what they need and what the core things are that they're really excited. And the things that are actually going to be excited about buying and spending money intended conversations, and once you do that, you can then just go and find more people like that. You, see for a lot of people that we work with you know they don't need to have forty fifty clients a month. In fact, most of the people in order to get to six and seven and eight figures, they need three to four clients a month. Right, so it's not like you need a ton of clients to be able to generate massive results. Okay. So I love this idea of getting stuck with they are as a person. And I feel like there's people listening who are thinking. Okay. But. If I'm selling like beat be like consultants that that deal with businesses. Does that still told trial. Absolutely one hundred percent because if you're a consultant and you know mean that's what I do and that's a part of our business and a lot of. The companies that we work with our consultants as well. So even then the most specific, you get around few years targeting and what sort of results you can help them achieve the easier it is to reach these guys. Now the mistake that most people make is they go in and they say their business consultant they'll say I help businesses grow right. Number One. What. Kind of businesses who you talking in the business? What are the big problems they have? What sort of growth can they achieve and what sort of timeframe?

New Orleans Saints agree to terms with QB Winston on one-year contract

"Yahoo Sports is Charles. Charles Robinson reports at Norrland's is finalizing a one year deal with Winston. The former buck coming off a five thousand one hundred nine yards season thirty plus touchdowns three interceptions and immediately eyebrows. Raised the idea that Winston would stay in the division. Go to the Saints. Backup drew brees. He enters the mix with Tatum Hill. Who IS SUPPOSED TO BE? And maybe still is the heir apparent To breeze so it just leads to a lot of unsolved mysteries in its own right greg your thoughts when you heard the news that Winston may be and quite possibly is headed to the saints I I wasn't shocked because I I what I did. This hashtag setup into your own comet with a big way. Why why you made your Greg sounding you often. I got it. I wasn't gonNA say anything but then mark reacted to it and I can't help myself but go ahead. I did this Saints Twitter Pot. Podcast just knew that way wolf as podcasts. Him into my buddy Adam and they were saying they were hearing. This was going to happen before the draft so they got sources on the inside and and they ended up being proven right and it makes all the sense in the world of your Jameis Winston and makes sense of. You're the saints too. I think you get a chance to get Jameis. Winston in the building for a year probably drew brees his last year. We haven't heard any financial terms the Jameis Winston deal you know was reported on before the Taste Hill extension Came out and the money that was involved. That extension came out. Part of me does wonder. Is this deal for absolute sure does did Winston know about that before he he came determines but either way he? He should do the deal. Because if he can somehow impress Sean Payton or if he can end up getting in the lineup and being as backup like Teddy Bridgewater What better place to possibly learn because damis Winstons still has a lot to learn but he also has a lot of talent a guy that throws for five thousand yards can do things in the NFL and like there's no better place to learn. Other than to undo. Breezy and Sean Payton.

Could Brandin Cooks be traded for fourth time in six-year career?

"Brandon cooks had a tweet that just said Freeman yes that was on Friday and when you read that there's two things that come to mind one is okay he's talking about the corona virus in Africa wants to just go back to living their normal life and not trapped inside their house order the sportsman and I says free may he's upset with the Los Angeles rams and he wants a trade out of LA you look at the contract the branding cooks he's under contract through the twenty twenty three season has a cap hit of sixteen sixteen seventeen and seventeen million dollars across the board the dead cap this year for Brandin cooks is twenty nine point eight million and then following that in the next three years thirteen eighteen and three million of the number is an approximation he's still twenty six years old and at one time was viewed as a very promising up and coming wide receiver and I still think you can have a good career you know you look at what he was able to do from early on in his saints career shoot the twenty eighteen season with the rams you go through the stats twenty fourteen fifty three receptions five hundred and fifty yards three touchdowns twenty fifteen eighty four receptions over eleven hundred yards nine touchdowns that had that monster monster twenty sixteen where he catches almost eighty football's goes for one thousand one hundred seventy three yards and then a touch it's really had to back to back killer seasons with eighty four you know the two months years in twenty fifteen twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen he gets dealt the patriots and he goes sixty five receptions just over a thousand yards seven touchdowns how to touch down early on against the Texans was a big moment he had I'm in the playoffs he got knocked out in the Superbowl Malcolm Jenkins sent the matter game and the patriots after one year that one can get a contract extension so they traded to the rams and they ended up getting a first round pick back again for something to get a first round pick back for him so he goes to the rams twenty eighteen eighty receptions twelve hundred yards five touchdowns good year and last year only forty two receptions five hundred eighty three yards and two touchdowns so this is that was an off year for Brandin cooks now he only played in fourteen games but you know still it was an off year so you start to wonder is Brandon cooks going to get traded because of just the situation the ram Charan it is got rid of Todd Gurley defensively they say they're already locked up Barron Donald you're gonna have to sign Jaylen Ramsey to a long term extension you would think you also have money tied up in a lot of money tied up clearly to Jared Goff I don't think it's a great quarterback but he's getting paid as if he's a great quarterback and you saw that offense who this past year yes the the rams were a different team but you look at their wide receiving options do you really need Brandin cooks that office when you have Cooper Kupp having a very good season last year catching almost a hundred footballs and going over eleven hundred yards yeah Robert woods last year not the thousand you know thousand yard season caught ninety footballs so can you survive without Brandin cooks and get something back to help your football team what what's first do this what you will get the contracts Robert woods and Cooper Kupp Robert woods is a free agent at the end of the twenty twenty one season so for the next two years you're a robber was that a good number base salary this upcoming year it's five million in twenty twenty one at seven point five million capita they point one and a cap of nine point one so that's a good number and then when you get to Cooper Kupp can you take a look at his contract situation with the with the rams that's a contract situation where Cooper Kupp let's see where his deal is that he's a free agent at the end of the season so he is on a two million dollars and change contract so if you are the branches anything you have Robert woods who's twenty seven right now maybe he gets it probably does get another contract with that team and then you have Cooper Kupp who's twenty six read the codes are still very young yeah he's twenty six as well what do you do if you're gonna pay if you intend to pay Cup and also woods are you gonna put a lot of big money with three wide receivers so I think there's a good chance the Brandin cooks does get traded or the ram say you know what we believe are more like the football team two years ago not the team last year so we're gonna keep what we have and we're going to run it back brandy cooks for someone who's so talented and someone that has done a very nice job in his career so far what we've seen him go from playing with drew Brees and Sean Payton then go flying with Brady and Bella Jack and now playing with golf and the bay well those are not the key pad stops you get to all BAME coaches and to all fame quarterbacks golf one of seeing what he's going to be able to do in Sean McVay's is greatly respected around the league so the branding cooks tweet Hey C. Cooper cops jump on it and and clarify he's talking about the quarantine hi it's it's just amazing and it never surprised anymore on social media where if that were his intentions you never know but if those are his intentions how people now I think he could be traded but when you think about it with what they may need to do in the future or Cooper Kupp and Robert woods at the Brandon cooks experiment in the in the rams you know you could say could be short lived with your canoeing on that was really short lived he could be on the move once

"Yeah I got a new job Jerry Jones is right he told us that Jason Garrett will be coaching in the NFL come next season and in fact he will be doing just that he's been hired by Joe judge and the New York Giants to be there all offensive coordinator we had a great day together you know you know I didn't know Joe real well been around about a couple different occasions I good conversations with them really good football conversations and now he and I know a lot of the same people I work for coach saving you work for coach David coaches always said such great things about Jo and so many other people that he's been around that I've been around said the same thing Jason Garrett on the giants in the huddle podcast and he was eager to make comments right away I'm happy for him I think as much as the Dallas Cowboys needed a fresh start and they're thrilled about their new head coach Mike McCarthy Jason Garrett needed something fresh and new as well I I tease the bunch up before that the cowboys actually made the announcement but my hash tag was free Jason Garrett let him go do something else let him go work in a different capacity although it is interesting right that he stays in the NFC east I thought the board to be really humorous why the giants though that was the question that he was that's right off the top just a first class organization and you you think about the history and tradition the New York Giants franchise in and what the merits of build the what the tissues of bill and all the great teams all the great coaches all the great players will get a part of this organization throughout its history and you know when you're playing this organization like I was four years you feel that Jason Garrett the new offense of coordinator who gets to work with none other than Daniel Jones interesting to hear what giants fans think about having chasing gear at again with inside the organization now jump to their often through coordinator spot where he was so maligned even after callin more to go over the plate calling full painting all the often whoa that lets is beyond as the the Dallas Cowboys had a really good off into season that was not the reason why they didn't end up by winning the end of season getting back to the playoffs in the stats for Jack NZ Kelly it don't tell you the whole story but their office of numbers were better than a good portion of what we saw from the yeah the rest of the NFL Jack was over four thousand yards as the Ellie and continues to do what it is that he's paid to do and yet still a lot of people pointing to Jason Garrett because the often didn't do enough well now here is going to be working with the second year quarterback in New York in Daniel Jones I want to start by and really what Joe said and in its introductory press conference you know I have an outsider's perspective on the giant a great respect for the organization great respect for the players on the team that would compete against but again it's it's coming from the outside I can't wait to get on the inside and and start to work with some of these guys and you know you mentioned Daniel Jones we thought a lot of coming out of college we weren't in the market for a quarterback it in the first round the year that he came out at the same time you go through that evaluation process and you know anybody who was around him in our organization with the cowboys just thought the world of does it sound excited I mean for sure most of the questions that he's been answering over the past few months a bit about his job status and about why the cowboys were under achieving but still he felt rejuvenated yes like he's really looking forward to this

2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class

"Pro football hall of fame I introduce the class of twenty twenty their centennial class and I am pretty diverse group here going in so what Mike let's run through some of these yeah and and some of these are so these guys are before my time so before your time as well some guys we saw a play so let let let's have a couple of these first Paul tag Lee boots and he was the the commissioner who took over for Pete Rosell he was the bridge between Roselle and die and Roger Goodell who we have today certainly the took the baton did a lot of good things for the game for sure yeah I get that now I'm not surprised I guess that he got in considering E. took it to a different level with TV contracts made a lot of money for the game took it into a different era yeah he's one of those it's like why do not in already yeah comic Marvin Miller yeah baseball I was a little bit surprised by that one or is it some other ones Donnie shall and and cliff tires are both a little bit before my time I I read you know I know the teams of Donnie shell played on a wood heater he was for the Steelers teams that were just absolutely spectacular are you know click Harris was a cowboy enough said so those two guys get in our let's run through a couple other ones he Jim covert I remember him with the bears as an offense of linemen I don't remember Bobby Dylan who was a D. back for the Packers Austin Dillon Tate today they made the right call Jack I was a beast yeah okay and we we was on the the body Packers of assuming yeah I'll wait like even before that it was like ten years before the merger all really okay yeah see played like late fifties and into the sixties mid fifties yeah okay all right so don't reach sixties they'll go back a little bit at New York Jets tackle Winston hill not that familiar with him but lions defensive tackle out Alex Karras who was a great player and also went on to be an actor he was in blazing saddles which Mike if you haven't seen it is an all time classic a movie that would never get made today because it's incredibly politically incorrect and he was the father in Webster which one of your favorite TV shows yeah Webster Webster and Bobby don't fill but Alex Karras is also said suspended for an entire season for gambling on football did you know that yeah early sixties yeah I miss the season are Scott Chicago cardinals this it tells you how far back that goes tackle Duke Slater goes into the hall of fame Cleveland Browns wide receiver Max speedy bears defensive and and sprinkle near giants GM George young who I remember he was a he was a guy who was there during the Parcells run when Bella check was it a says that when they had an unbelievable group of assistance there and he drafted very well guys like Phil Simms some guys really under the radar at large Taylor helped really kind of build that team cell George young goes and we know bill Cowher a Jimmy Johnson they they got their surprises on TV this past weekend what do you think of Calar I don't I think ours I don't think he's all famous hourly there I think is like the on this list of qualified to talk about this from worry lines up with my viewing yeah I you know I know he won one he got to another any was there a long time it's a great story because he's he's a Pittsburgh guy grew up there you know all that good stuff but what what's she in for longevity you know I mean I don't know I'm a a are they considering like contributions as a broadcaster to that kid I mean he's not that good only has been doing it that long what is your is on an hour a week yeah exactly yes I know it not look exactly are the interesting thing is that they they're some the hall of fame centennial class was selected by a special Blue Ribbon panel which included hall of fame board selectors league historians hall of Famers and bill Belichick yeah so there were thirty eight finalists were chosen from a list of three hundred nominees over the past five months and the hall of fame class of twenty twenty comprised of modern era players will be selected in Miami beach on February first the day before the Superbowl so you're wondering like the word the wise all these you know older guys well the the guys you probably saw play we you know we'll be getting in that cell that was that's the way that that that check out but shall I do go back to die shell for a minute now and I'll get to the reason why you wanted to do this for for a couple reasons but he's the fifth member of that steel curtain team Joe Greene mean Joe green Jack Lambert Jack ham Mel blunt and now dot a shell goes in from that Pittsburgh team but I am we should probably place for people again which we will little back but one of the coolest things I I heard was the the audio conversation between Harold Carmichael and and David Baker who's the the president of the pro football hall of fame but Carmichael goes and he was at all decade nineteen seventy selection when he retired he held the league record with a reception and a hundred twenty seven consecutive games he had a touchdown reception on almost fourteen percent of his career touches that's awesome any finishes his career with really good numbers in any near where you know again it wasn't like it is today where they pass as much as they did but in a plane thirteen years and really that's a little bit misleading you really play twelve years that thirteen year with the cowboys only played two games but he had almost nine thousand yards seventy nine touchdowns averaged more than fifteen yards per catch he was a stud and from nineteen seventy three to nineteen eighty two no receiver had more receptions yards touchdowns are games played that's pretty awesome do you wonder why it took that long but it was great to see him get and I'll tell you the other guy I mention this before we took time out they get send that never played a down in the NFL yet maybe had more of an impact than any name that we just right off that's the sable what NFL films did for the National Football League what which Steve sable date with his dad add both local guys and of course if you you know NFL films right over there mount laurel what they did to promote the game of football in the sixties when it was no where near the number one sport the country I mean you had baseball you a boxing your college football all ahead of professional football what they did to highlight the game to shine a different spot like to be creative in an artistic with the way that you look at the game utilizing classical music slow motion yeah replays you different camera angles you name it what they did to change the way that people look at the game was nothing short of remarkable and a and it's a shame that it's happened posthumously Steve got to win the Elbe doctors father into the hall of fame at the times the was battling brain cancer but for him to get in I thought was flat out awesome yes not he yeah got it back everything's under the contributions that side you have still to this day yeah I mean he tell me somebody who is more deserving I'm telling you AP is deserving is anybody so the one that I and I know Jodie touched on this when I was coming and I was listening to him and he's dead on about this it's a real shame and I I don't know if it's gonna happen former night I I I really hope it does but it's a real shame that I Joe Klecko didn't get it again this year if if you're not familiar with me you know when you hear Dan Klecko on our air doing eagles post games and and like you work with during the football season a damn good friend of mine but Joe was a great player he's a local guy grew up in Chester went to temple but was a phenomenal player for the jets eat play from seventy to seventy seven to eighty eight and the first Jeez for five years of his career the sac wasn't even cactus that so and he was a guy who literally you could play everywhere he played the tackle he played nose tackle he played defensive end you could move asides yeah you can move in every single place on the football field and all the guy did was the lever and and it's unfortunate because nose tackles indeed tackles are gonna put up monster numbers think about you know a guy like Fletcher **** could have a big game but because he's at being occupied by two tacklers or maybe is not getting a sack he's just he's creating the pressure somebody else gets the sack that happens often times you know but it it but a lot of those years even look like I was playing end they can keep the sack is that in other words like for example I seventy eight he was a defense of an I. seven eighty he was a defense of an eighty one he was a defense of that then he moved more inside your starting in in eighty two eighty three and the rest of his career but I know Gary Myers of Jody had on earlier in his show was a guy who really pushed for kind of the way ray push for for a tiny the Donald you know in a domino kind of pushed we double push for Dawkins yet Dawkins yeah double push for doc hold on which bush for Dawkins Gary Myers push for collect but it's he didn't get a ton of votes in the US and and that's you know probably not a great sign but I hope at some point they come to their their senses and and Joe Klecko gets and but that was that was the one that kind of stood out to me I know you know drew Pearson went on his his harangue about not getting in but that was one that stood out so what what it since we're on this Mike let let's play the Carmichael again so this this is it the audio of the phone call David Baker calling Harold Carmichael and letting him know that after all these years because Carmichael's but after this for a long time after all these years he finally got it my great grandma and to hear that you're gonna have a bronze bust in canton Ohio hello all men you're going to be a member of the centennial class and we're we're gonna tell you and keep your legacy alive forever yeah or what you're talking okay thank you great that's pretty cool I mean I think that's a genuine reaction right there what you got from hell Carmichael and it's it's well deserved you know this isn't just some sympathy vote that this is a guy who deserve to be at and your was ahead of his time in terms of the size and was versatile what could catch a long ball was a great are you know fade end zone alley OOP I could go over the metal versatile could do almost anything and you know play the game at six foot eight we came out of southern a small school and went on to have some great years for short was very good the playoffs still had amazing career so happy

"The league of put these rules in place and the greatest benefit benificiary of these rule has been the quarterback in the offenses because we've seen an explosion in numbers. Unprecedented numbers didn't used to be skipped. You know, when you covered the game, if a quarterback threw for three thousand yards, he had unbelievable season. If your quarterback does not throw for four thousand yards in today's game, he they bomb. John Elway had one thousand yard season. I don't know if Troy Aikman ever had a four thousand yard season. That's why you think deck Prescott s- bomb. Am I right. First of all, all of things get yourself. The number that the numbers that were seeing is because of the protection of the quarterback. The quarterback is the stand in the pocket, and he knows a less he gets in the number. That's the only air. You could hit the quarterback in the numbers on his jersey. He got the guy, six, six, and you get a twelve inch frame hit. That's what you get to here, but so limits you question. Can you pick the running back up Atlanta? Oh, you wait on absolute. You picked arrive receiver. Absolutely. That's all I'm saying, skip Aaron Rodgers. Get deported these protections. Now he doesn't want if always somebody that gift to pretension that doesn't want him just the popularity of the National Football League hinge on the the injury that's be suffered by running back or wide receiver. Oh, no, no, it's a quarterback's game. You have to protect the quarterback, but you have to have a would you call them twelve inch window. Okay. Klay math. Us found the little sweet spot on little sweet court cousins. He sweetly wrapped one arm around him with a textbook tackle just wrapped him around and took him gently to the ground and laid him gently in the crib. Right..

"I mean to be a thousand yard rushers very difficult. Sixty game. Sure. But you have in mind eight last year. You have to keep in mind as well. It was week five before Alex Collins started to get double digit carries right. Okay. No, I I'm not really trying to make a point against him. I love him. I think Allison's is a great value and I think they want to run the ball and I think you're going to have to run the ball. They were eleventh in yards per game on the ground last season despite the turnover at the running back position and because of Alex Collins hit, they just don't have the money invested in him that guarantees his roles the same way they didn't with Terrance west. 'cause we're talking about turns west, less offseason degree has value, and the other risk is Kenneth Dixon. Jason brought up though. He's struggling with injuries, but Kenneth Dixon is good enough to push Alex Collins for the starting job. What have you guys heard about John Brown? Willie Snead, Michael Crabtree in the past catchers, dishonesty, excited about one or the other. I'm not a Crabtree fan. I brought this up on the live show. He's a player. I'm sunsetting. He's a player that I'm treating Eric decker, Jeremy Macklin this year. He's been traded to a team with one hundred and eighty nine yards of passing per game. And I think he's been traded there and all of metro wasn't tree. He signed. Sorry. Yes, but he's, he's, he's now arrived at a team that. Isn't a pass producing team, and he is major metrics all went down significantly last year. I don't like he's still a touchtone guy to me. The yardage may be down from what we're used to. We're not going to round pick right now. But guys Torrey Smith had a year of seven, your eight year of eleven touchdowns and Kwame Boldin who at that time was considered for old considered very old. It's. Well, considered sunsetting. He had seven touchdowns his first year with Baltimore. Are you going to be happy with seven touchdowns from Crabtree in the sixth round, sit in the six round. If you give me seven touchdowns and six hundred yards, he's not going to be six hundred yards. It'll be round eight hundred. If you're saying eight.

"Know how to show on tv streaming or otherwise and luke cage which we talked about a couple of weeks ago with luke cage himself my culture in studio it's an incredible cast muhammad ali was on in season one rosero dawson alfred woodard great cast the rossi but only one member of the cast however dare i say has more than ten thousand yard career rushing yards in the national football league twelve years in the national football league an all american in college as well good to see you thomas jones great to see you too okay i'm good it's been a while it's been a minute it's been a minute so yeah because the nfl network started in two thousand and three you would just left the cardinals first team to join the bucks traded then you join the bears and things really took off for you there chicano moving much started moving to chicago i mean i was drafted in two thousand by the cardinals first round pick which arizona no had a little bit of time near went through some going pains in in jon gruden trading for me and i went to tampa white after they won the super bowl join in there after winning super bowl it was it was it was incredible you know i went from like one of the worst experiences to the best experience possible and also a chance to play with barbara michael pittman again so it was an incredible experience i mean the fans i mean i think that was what i thought the nfl experience was and unfortunately the time in arizona they didn't have the same management was the same type of situation we didn't have our own stadium it was one hundred thirty degrees outside uhhuh it just wasn't what i expected the nfl needs to be a lot of that had to do with with me as well you know i wasn't as mature no i didn't put as much time in film room in the weight room so it was kind of a mixture of things but tampa was that was what i would have loved to have had when i first came to the right and then you left there to go to chicago refree agent is that what happened was a free agent which icago of a wanted to stay in tampa but the deal wasn't right they ended up bringing shirley daughter in and give him the deal that i wanted so i was very excited to go i mean grew garner was gruden's guy it was funny because john wanted me to stay it was they brought the general manager from the raiders okay next year and so he wanted to bring his guys with them so you know jon gruden forever grateful to him for training for media and we had an incredible relationship into he believed in me believed in my ability i mean every time i would see him afterwards on whether it was monday night football wherever we just had this connection no he he brought me into his office and he said because i believe in you are believing your beauty and he said i want you to watch something hit play and it was all my college highlight and he said do you know this guy and i said yeah and he played another holly said you know this year another i do you know this guy said you guys ready for and then he gave me number six he said you gonna wear this jersey during training camp because he see the gods ready for number six which is my college jersey in so from that point on you know he just believes in my career and over the last couple of weeks in the season he let me start it's funny because we played new orleans new orleans and in a team meeting the night before he said thomas jones going to start this game in the first four places the game we're going to give you the ball doesn't matter where we are doesn't matter what down in distance the i four plays so if we're backed up if his fourth down yeah you're getting the ball we could be on five yard line so we got the balls i is second and the night before i'm in my hotel room like you know like oh my god knows it was like this is my moment because if i don't get this first down then you know let the team down a let.

"Darlene is is built and groomed and obviously hyped up as that guy so i think i'm with everybody when i tell you how excited i am to see this kid on the ice so often was obviously generational defenseman a lock hall of famer especially after he hit one thousand career points but on one bills live today we're going to be discussing the hall of fame credentials of one lesean mccoy of the buffalo bills last season as we all know he eclipsed the ten thousand yard rushing mark for his career a lot of people are of the belief that that could already put him in strong contention for the pro football hall of fame i don't know that it does he obviously already has a new goal of twelve thousand career rushing yards before his career is over he's probably going to need about three more seasons to do that and if he does he probably is a lock for the pro football hall of fame but what we're at right now and that's kind of our twitter poll for today's show what is his hall of fame potential and you can vote on a one bills live we got the poll up right now and you can call call in let us know what you think or you can hit us up on the tweet and tell us what you think but are four choices are one he needs twelve thousand rushing yards to get in to fifty fifty shot without twelve thousand if he doesn't make it needs a super bowl win on his resume to get to the pro football hall of fame or he's good now he's just not going to go in on the first ballot now here's the interesting thing pd thurman thomas had twelve thousand career rushing yards we all know he's in the hall of fame but he wasn't a first ballot guy and here's a guy that got to four super bowls one four afc titles think eddie consecutive seasons of a thousand yards rushing multiple pro bowls he was the nineteen ninetyone nfl mvp there's a lotta things on thurmond's list that are not really on the list right now i would have to you where do you come down you know looking at leshan and knowing the kind of talent he is well first of all tell you this i didn't know that thurman wasn't a first ballot hall of fame just assumed he was the first ballet famer his numbers alone the four super bowls win or lose i would have thought for sure just growing up as a kid the hype watching the bills all this stuff that team you know without thurman thomas that team well he was the engine iran hundred percent he was and you know that so that's the pricing for me to hear but in terms of the mccoy you know we have this conversation a lot on our show about hockey players and you know do they have a cop and how important is that to their legacy.

"Other place without without question these guys are these guys are super bowl quarterbacks i don't care if they ever get to a super bowl again or don't they are that calver of guy to where if they just had a little help they can bring a team there consistently but matt stafford i mean how many years has been for since he's been one hundred had one hundred yard rusher i didn't look it up i didn't come here like trying to like show you every stat in the world nobody really just boss the shipping container you waved a hand at this look this up from did you mean thousand yard rusher a thousand yard rusher fun well either way that's what i'm saying he hasn't had one hundred yard rusher in a game since two thousand and thirteen thousand yard rushers don't exist most people can't even name who's the running back for the detroit lions that's exactly right nobody gives a damn nobody cares it's goes matt stafford dropback and oh it's the fourth quarter down by ten can you please make magic happen and then occasionally because his team's not as good he throws an interception in those scenarios and we go stafford screwed it up he lost the game for us and i would argue and go well no damn they're not in the game if matt stafford doesn't make some of the plays he makes the keep them in it and i think that's what gets lost in translation sometimes a quarterback with the stats and the win loss record defenses i mean tell me some quality defensive players he's ever had with them other than donna consumed the start of his career really not much so that's my feeling on him he is tremendously physically gifted and another guy that i think is extremely under appreciated because of the team and the coaches and the organization that's been surrounding him throughout his career.

"Right i get it like that is fitting a lot of teams do but then in 2016 when he almost five thousand yards as a 97 quarterback rating 25 doug cents to twelve picks eight yards per attempt once you decide after that year we're not signing him longterm you knew you weren't ever signing and longterm you could have traded him you there were things you could have tried to do to not to now be in this position franchise the mcginn and then they got rid of the sean jackson and also pierre garson two thousand yard receivers now he made a lot of money but he still came back worth they know they're good season to real priorities signed him as a free agent he didn't do anything for kirk cousins in in the one year there so now that we're now in a position cousins is the best healthy quarterback to hit the market in a long time people like obama manning was a free agent hidden his neck operated on runner breeze was a free agent he had a shoulder surgery dante had the knee surgery like there we haven't had a quarterback this good hit the open market in a long time a lot of teams are gonna be going after like this go ahead i know my man wit jets fan generally called very much want her cousins you guys have been scrambling fitz patrick all these other guys call kirk cousins and is played in the cold array he'll be able to throw the ball in in that conference i mean look they got tom brady he's already the second best second best quarterback if you put him in the afc east can i tell you where i think issue that should call him cleveland cleveland you got the first pick you if you don't we've you're not going to draft a quarterback you could make it to where you have a nut multiple number one two consecutive years of the draft load up on blue chip talent maybe a sake one barkley maybe it it started offensive player and try to get cousins that way i gotta go get you in all fits alignment barkley with the number four pick to right there's a lot you can do if your cleveland if you can sign you're quarterback and it's an rampton man that makes too much since they knocked on now.

"Quarterback in actual football to be a fantasy asset you know what i mean yeah um i just i i understand your premise and if i thought that sterling shepherd was the top thirty receiver and opening room with top five tight end that i would have eli manning as a top fifteen quarterback okay dave i don't think that's true i think defining of an ingram as the top five tight end doesn't mean that he's going to get you a thousand yards and seven touchdowns i think now still be i think there is a clear difference between the top three tight ends and everybody else uh you added he he might end up being the defacto number two receiver and surely shepherd is the one who get you six hundred yards and four touchdowns next year that's six center yards and four touchdowns is almost exactly what i expect revenue there are also that they both mike at it and there are also a ton of quarterback second outperform ally with odell with seven and graham with sterling shepherd with another receiver that replaces brand of marshall here i think there were out there like it is a tough competition a quarterback next i feel a lot better about 'tidying going into this coming year than i did in the past though like i i can't rake everything radic riggles them i can't ranked have ingram had object oil assuming andrew luck is playing football i can't recommend head of hunter henry i think he's in that group that i'm not going to reagan had of atoms shahin all boy he he oh y shahin is going to be a monster this year i gave loves them i think he's got the potential to be and his coach might like using guidance yep at least he has the passed by the eu i bet but we don't have any of us does as evan ingram's coach does like using tight end right like i'm i'm a little more bullish on of how was the brown started when he was the coach there at the power the brownstown.

"Think he could be i think he could be back to what he thinks is the real jamal charleston yeah the last thousand yard rusher the broncos had you i guess who that was travis henry a throw davis now maurice in this decade it's been this decade wasn't c j o no sean yup no no sean in 2013 i know and then they let them go right but here's the thing with the thousand yard rusher that was also the year that they made the soup for boll and lost the seahawks and we all understand that the those thousand yards was now what led the broncos it was it was manning so the reason i bring that up is i don't know that jamal charles can be a thousand yard back again i dunno i will watching mccain i don't think the broncos negative will be precisely here's here's the best scenario he here's what you look for ya 2015 ronnie hillman eight hundred sixty three arts cj anderson seven hundred and twenty bloom if you can get that kind of production may be a little bit better from andersen volcker and charles ya or two of those guys or whatever guess what they did in 2015 got to super bowl one super bowl while yeah they want so but adding well i think that could happen and i think right really that i mean i'm not going to say it's the best running back core in the league because there's a bunch of good ones but those three together mando sleep on booker i mean everyone's talking about butchered coming in here and with the gary kuby acts zone blocking system book is not good at that and i think that we're gonna see things from cgm voter this year and hopefully jamal charles like i dunno if you're you're too young to remember steve civil but i know you know the name i think to ball charles could be a steve soul type of running back for the broncos in when you have a guy like that the catch the ball out of the backfield do a lot of different things like that that's a valuable especially to an offense like mccoy's if i told you that to running back for the broncos would have that kind of production which to do you think it is cj inge mall problem you think so but i think you know what.
