"You can come down and watch the practices. There will be scrimmages during practice and won't be as organized as one Thursday night, Tuesday Wednesday, Wednesday Thursday morning early in the morning. So again, if you have to battle that traffic, I apologize, but it is worth. It is fun. It's a chance to see some of these guys for the first time. And it sounds like everybody from this year's draft will be there and like I said, party, first time to see him live gave Lardy will not be there. Unfortunately, but everybody else. Can you say total non sequitur the best mascot in the NHL Bailey has been listening to the program? I got a note that Bailey has been listening to the program, so shadow to Bailey, I told him, I would I would say Hello. Did he say anything about it? No. Did he signal anything with his? Yes, he said, get down here to development camp next week, and you get to meet Jesse Cohen. That's what he that's what he's signal to me. It really should be an awesome time. It does. He said a good opportunity to watch these kids any opportunity to watch hockey during the off season is great. So why not come down here? It's what makes this facility and being here on the west side of LA, and you could see all the renovations done to this acidity. It's been remarkable. All the changes that have happened. You could see the changes right when you walk in from outside there's changes to their get down here to the Toyota sports performance center. They added Ord. Yes. Okay. Yeah. I wanna make sure I'm saying click one quick, disclaimer. Yeah. Not a ton of actual hockey to see a lot of drills, talkie. Sure hockey drill. I just don't want people to come down thinking they're going to be watching these guys playing game. Yeah. You know it's Rasmi with the exception of Thursday night. Will there will be like I said, inter practice scrimmages, but it won't be, you know, there's now look, having said all that I was watching paying rapt attention to Matt luff shooting rish shots against a dummy two years ago, and I really liked that guy. Yeah. So, so don't tell the people that they're not going to see how should absolutely impersonal. It's not like you. You're not watching it. Like football stadiums. If you've never been here to Elsa good note to the sport. Toyota sports performance training center. Whatever it's called. Now, I should really know that come here because it's a very intimate experience. You get up close and personal with the with the players Dave electorally show. You his desk where he works. I wanna hit you guys up about the trades that have today even though the kings haven't been necessarily one of the teams in the the top list when it comes to the big move so far. They did make the one trade when they were swapping draft picks move up in the second round. But as far as the big trades, go, Jesse PK, sue ban is the biggest name that has changed homes. Now these so far today going from Nashville to New Jersey. Devils team that is somewhat in a rebuild. I think they still would consider themselves rebuilding team. They made the playoffs two seasons ago. They missed it this year. They wind up with the number one pick falling in their lap, essentially, so they get Jack hues. And now they get a defenseman and PK sue bam. This looks like at least on the surface like a complete salary, dump by Nashville PK is thirty years old, but he's still a tremendous defenseman and an all star caliber defenseman. They haven't for three more years nine million per season. Now, talk is that maybe Nashville goes out, and they spend that salary cap space on one of the free agents that's available. On the market. So it could just be a swap in that regard for them. But ultimately, doesn't it just look like one team? Really hit by the salary cap that just had to dump that salary. And the devils are saying, hey, we got tons of room. We'll take him. Yeah. First of all, don't think I don't know what you're doing. Rob. For those who don't know robs New Jersey Devils fan. So this is his way what you're talking to me kills. No look, I saw tweet today that I thought was fascinating. And I, I asked Dave. Rub. Can you name the two trades that have included a player with a cap it of nine million dollars or more? No. They're both PK sue ban straits. So look, I don't think there's any. PK sue ban brings both on the ice and off the ice. However, we may be we may be entering the stage of his career where the word overrated might start to rear its ugly head. I think he's everything the devils needed. They needed that guy in the blue line, the leader, they need a reason to keep Taylor hall. We'll tell me defense old. They definitely need defend. Is he really? But they also need offense from the times, drew doubt even traded zero. So it's either he's really highly coveted or. Yeah. Someone didn't want. Okay. Patrick Marlowe second. Big move of the day goes from Toronto another salary cap dump if you will because Toronto's got the cap to worry about and trying to sign Mitch. Martyr is going to be the saga that plays out for the next several weeks or months, he may hold out like we saw last year. I mean, we're talking about a guy who is a stud that they have to find a way to sign, and I don't know if somebody wants giving him an offer sheet or not, but more lines are being the casualty here lease the first one as he's going down to Carolina for now. We'll see if you ends up staying or if they ultimately wind up having to release him and make him a free agent again. It looks like a move that helps Carolina though on the surface. Yeah, you're getting a veteran but they probably needed a veteran a mix into that club. My understanding is, they're gonna buy them out. Is that is that Marlo has said he only? Wants play for San Jose. His family's moved back to San Jose. And I'm absolutely tickled pink, with what I think, might be coming down the pike, which is that San Jose might have to yet again, change their captain, because with the signing of Eric Carl Belsky might not might not be back. Dave. I don't know if you remember, but all those years that San Jose was coming, just so close, and then choking horribly in the playoffs, it was, like every two or three years, they'd be like, well, now the captain is Marlow now. We're taking it away from him. Now it's Rob Blake. Now rob lake's now show Thornton. We're taking it away from Joe Thornton house Marlowe again, we're taking it away. It was like every two or three years. Someone new somebody new, and they finally shed their reputation as chokers. They finally became you know, a c-, quote unquote serious contender whatever, and now they're looking like they may lose pavilion, ski and if they bring Marlowe back and honestly, just from a PR business amp. Can't imagine why they would. LA kings on the clock. By the way, picking one nineteen we will update that in a moment. I just think it would be fantastic, if Marlowe left the sharks and then came back building win a Cup and they have a new, I just it would it would every time the sharks, do something say is this. The shark is thing that they could possibly do the kings, picking Kim new scene. And at one nineteen defenseman good job on the pronunciation name you can barely read right now defense Kim it looks like new seen a nice job obvious. They are the saga that kick, but they are very good team. And all they are pretty good goaltending is questionable. But they're still a quality team unless they lose guys. Well, I hated the the Carlson contract, I think everybody outside there were going to Asian hates the Carlson contract. Just too many years for a guy who's at his age with the injury history. Got an injury this year with a groin just had surgery. So it's just another one ad list. I, I understand why they gave it to them. I think they want to be. In contention right now. And they're trying to win a Cup right now and he probably does help them right now. But when it comes to down the road, I think they're really gonna hate that contract from year, maybe four or five on the other big trade today as we go around the league with the big trades that have happened. So for Tampa Bay trading JT Miller to Vancouver. It's Vancouver team that is stocked with young talent young prospects with Brock Besser and Elias Patterson. And now yet JT Miller is only twenty six to that group. Looks like they gave up very little just a couple of draft picks. Not a first round pick involved. I don't believe so just picks for him, maybe it was a conditional. I, I have to look at that deal again, but regardless you bring JT Miller guy, you probably can have in that organization for a few years. I like the way that, that organization is taking shape. It, it still early for them. And they're still very much rebuilding. But they had a good year, a year, I thought they took a nice step forward. Didn't wanna make an a playoffs but still nice step forward for them. They weren't playoff contention for a long time. And they have those young studs to pretty good team Travis. Screen is on a really good job. Yeah. In vancouver. And I think he might be a little bit underrated. I don't think he gets the obviously they didn't finish well, but, but considering the pieces he hasn't placed there. It seemed feels to me like he's a little bit underrated as a coach. We'll see what happens in the next couple years, once these guys really start to develop Pedersen's only gonna get better. There's only gonna get better. My question. There is. Okay. You bring JT Miller with goaltending situation, which is which is a big question Mark in Vancouver right now. And there's only so much you can do about that. But that's your team goes as your goaltender goes. So if you don't have the goaltender good luck, but one of the, you know, we talked about the timing and how important is this is one of those off-seasons where goaltending is going to be available. Sure, right. Whether it's Bobrovsky or one of the guys from Carolina or the guy from Colorado who's named Varlamov you know, could be Jonathan quick. Like they're going to be opportunities for Mike Smith. Maybe. Yeah. Fans stage that is that is Colorado team by the way that is going to be very dangerous. My goodness. Ideally, they wind up drafting Bom Byrom with the number four overall, pick MacArthur, they already have Macara, and it looks like those two on the blue line for years to come..
