"In North Carolina as a category one I guess that's good news and doctor also finding out a the total devastation grand Bahamas all right out back we go with the Thomas guide to politics are John Thomas Republican strategist but is here as say are fair in balance no I can't use that can I. but it's in this case it is legitimate also John has his podcast and the podcast is at the TV guide dot com the TI dot com we've put that out by the way from now on because I have to ask if I don't read it I never know. anyway first time yeah I know first time doing it all right so we were talking about what's happening in the Democratic Front some short of new stuff that just came out well first of all the thing we're looking at for next week is the president another presidential debate and what's good about what's coming in the debate first of all. a bunch of people that didn't qualify for the debate so now it's just top ten which I think is actually healthy for the process they're just too many people on the stage so as much as I don't like the nebulous criteria the DNC sat for having to get certain percentage in the polls and sort of a small donors I do think it's good to to what I had to come up with some formula to winnow them down yet to clear about. we're starting to see the pack leaders break out to the front it really is a bite in a Warren Sanders pack yeah I know she didn't mention camel Heris I didn't in fact you should look the only moment in this campaign that she's actually had a campaign was a wall one debate line that's it she's done nothing else really remarkable or you would give her a good campaign points for along the way she's trying to campaign on our identity I would think about this last last night on the plane ride back from DC to to LA. I don't think I can I can tell you what Elizabeth Warren I can tell you what Joe Biden's lane is he's the what we call the frame is the safe hands approach return back to normalcy and I'm the only one who can be drop that's that's his lan very clear. he's got a whole host of problems we've talked about. it is messages latest is pretty clear Elizabeth Warren she's the fighter with the the the progressive fighter with the plan got it. I do. Eddie Sanders he's the O. G. progressive guy I don't know what calmly Harris's lane it's I really can't tell you and that's a problem when I can't tell you beyond her identity what she is and until she finds out lays out that path I think she's going to lag and never never gonna make it the more I think about it she's headed straight toward VP's bill that's it she's got a not embarrass herself what if Biden is the nominee he is going to have to pick a V. P. that. the privacy you also about this the pressure on who Joe Biden picks is V. P. is much greater than the pressure that Booker would choose or a calmly would choose because whoever he selects is the future of the Democratic Party now one thing we talk about V. P. land not calmly Harris is certainly ethnically fine because a minority works very well and democratic policy if iris feels right now but yet by racial jerked curry Jamaican and Indian and I but she's California and that doesn't help the party at all because she's California so you're talking about Abrams hi Stacey Abrams who is Georgia and she right African Americans of so if it's a very smart I is a good campaigner she is but is she is she is she battle tested to this degree at that on a level that alone is is fascinate yeah I don't think calm like is a walk to get the V. P. N. and look I think in terms of lane I actually think blue judge is have is the reason he's lacking in the polls right now well first it's that he's not carrying any African American right just problem but bigger than that is I don't really know what his lane is other than that he's a new generation of leadership what what is his fundamental is fundamental I'll tell you what it is he's gay and he's twelve years old and he is very smart so here and so here's the thing I watch a scene in town hall and I thought he articulated the sound I mean. Warren goes with trade sound bites that work in politics but there's really not a lot of depth even though she makes you think that she's got the plan she's got the death actually booted yours has the depth he has the he has the mackenzie consultant who's really thought everything through but his problem is he both wants to be progressive in his policies but moderating right language and you can't straddle both not now what a future he has a little thirty eight years old credible and a national figure already I mean just all of it so I'm watching most closely Elizabeth Warren at this point I I I I think by noon if if by name doesn't come up with something to excite people to vote for by now I think he's done he has to reinvent himself I don't I don't think you can I don't know that he can what is it what is the just outright say I'm Barack Obama. exemplified if you like Barack then vote for me kind of thing I mean effectively that's what he's saying without saying it he's saying it but then it begs the question why is Obama not endorsing you why did Obama tell you six different times over the New York times not to run he I. yeah no it doesn't do it Warren so I think Warren is the one we're gonna watch here's what I'm watching the debate stage right now Warren is really got away Scot free she hasn't toured a lot of negative that is about to change warned also said in New Hampshire. one is that of a sensually a do no harm pledge were she's promise not to attack anybody specifically Bernie Sanders who is absolutely in her lane she says why love Bertie why would I do that mark my word and Bernie said the same mark my words when it Bernie Sanders feels that he's had a ceiling the gloves are gonna come off Elizabeth Warren is going to be her next test she's gonna be lit up on this debate stage and here's here's my piece freebies of isel is with Warren I don't think she wins the nomination and she definitely isn't a viable general election candidate unless she shifts her bio away from being the professor to Betsy from Norman Oklahoma if she becomes Betsy from normal normal Oklahoma is now an angry grandma who's fighting that story can captivate American the primary she doesn't do that I don't think she makes all right John act the Thomas guide on social media and the podcast all right thanks no we'll see you again next week this is great stuff coming out Neil survey draw the foodie Friday segment and we're talk about kids being vegans and in therapy for the next twenty five years if you shove it down their throats this is KFI let's say.

"Independence. Entertainment, you know, galore here. Okay. This is what we're finding out as we're looking for this, I go on. You put Anita hill, Hillary Clinton Janet Napolitano now. You'll see going read some of the Wikki there. Yeah, what Wicky right here early political career in nineteen Ninety-three Napolitano was appointed by President Bill Clinton as United States attorney for the district of Arizona, and it goes on about what went from there. So she was her whole world in Arizona politics, began the appointment of the president of the United States, and go ahead or any what are you seeing or we're looking at here? I mean it doesn't show. It's like you have Clarence Thomas hearing, you know, then you have the connections Darren Anita hill, and then Janet Napolitano, and it goes through. And then she goes gubernatorial campaign, and Joe are Pyo and state of era, Zona got an air skipping a whole bunch of stuff Clinton at all. And if we go through this, I mean you can find as we go through the Webster's, so this is like a. Assignment you listeners out there. Hey here you go. He ready. "When it comes to a car accident in Virginia, if the if a woman's involved in the car accident and she's pregnant and the child dies the person who caused the accident is usually charged with the death of the child as well. So we'll gonna have to change because these are children, right? If the woman hasn't given birth yet, then then it's not considered a child. It's not considered a life. That's a very good point. You know, our criminal law doesn't match up to the ideas that that they have on you know, when a person in the wound becomes a person, and this is one of those slippery slopes, where I think, you know, with abortion law. They're trying to repeal the third trimester. They're trying to get ahead of all that other criminal law as well. And it's you bring a very good point six certainly a huge problem. Well, delegates, you know, it's interesting to listen to Cathy trend because she sounds like she's a shamed of her own Bill questioning so she's being asked like, hey, what's the deal here? Can you kill a baby up to the moment that the mothers giving birth and she says, yes, but only after some reticence and only after it has to be pulled out of her. What is your Bill actually say subsequently? Given the outrage about all of this. She's deleted her Twitter account. She's actually removed herself from public conversation because she can't withstand the criticism about this. So Bob what what do you make of your colleague here and her conviction on this Bill that supposedly she was standing strong behind? You know, if you watch the video, and we invite people to go online and do that you're absolutely correct after she finally says the word. Yes, you know, she looks to the sky, and I hope to God that somehow God speaking her, and this is not a policy. This is not the Virginia that we all know, and I can tell you there were hundreds of thousands of prayers going out for that side of the aisle that we we come back to something more reasonable because this is just not it. But you did say that there were some Democrats who are reticent about this who maybe aren't full-throated on board with us. Well, I'm not sure about those who are not on board because I haven't heard from them. But if you look at the Bill, it has I believe eighteen co patrons. So that's a pretty widens number of the democratic caucus that has signed up to put their name on this specific Bill. Their names though, with the Republicans need to do in Virginia, you need to get their names out there and make their names well-known because people aren't going to go look it up for themselves. And and I just think that this is just so heinous. And so I just think it's downright evil. That's that's my personal opinion that I think that you know, up until the woman's in labor, and you can kill the child that's me as infanticide. And that's another thing. I don't know what the legal definition of infanticide is if the child's being born is that infanticide? The I want know their names, the ice should their name should should be well known in the state of Virginia. You're absolutely right. Mary, you know, most people that follow me know that I I don't usually use my platform or my social media platform for political issues. But this one is so far overboard, you know, I I went ahead, and I posted in her words her testimony defending her villa last night. And I've had a social media platform for seven years as an elected official in this post is by far Ben seeing the most times and shared and thank God. You know, our our bases out there, and we need to make sure they know. And like I said people in in the middle the independence in the left leaning Democrats. They need to understand that they believe normally that when the left is pushing for this. It's an extreme circumstances only. I had a woman say that to me last night online, and I need to make sure she knows that's not what this Bill does a lot of people have been watching with shock and reaction to what had happened in New York this past week when they passed a similar Bill. And now we're watching it happened. In our own backyard in the Commonwealth. We aren't by the way before before. I let you go here. I wanna make sure people know that we are taking reaction to this want to get your reaction this morning. Eight eight eight six three zero nine six two five eight eight six three zero WMA Al we're talking with delegate Bob Thomas Republican who's opposed here to the democratic push to allow Boertien up until the moment of birth. It was defeated. You said Cathy frames Bill, but what is your sense of democratic appetite to attempt this again? Well, they've already said in that press conference. I alluded to earlier that they were gonna lay out their full agenda. So voters in November know, what options are ahead of them. You know, I was one of those seats the only one by seventy two votes last year, and we had a lot of legal battles right up to the a and you've all reported on that. But seventy two votes is what sent me to Richmond. You know, we had a seat decided by you know, picking out a canister out of a bowl. And when we looked at the data after the election, there were a lot of Republican base just stayed home. Because they thought you know, the the race would be. Fine. And maybe they're punishing us a little bit for what's going on in DC over the river there. But you know, I I asked people there's very little we have to do with policies in DC, and we need to make sure that enrichment we do not become DC. And we need people to come out and support us and share this message to make sure they know what's at stake here in November. Yeah. Yet another reason to be paying attention to look at what's going on in Richmond, really matters to Virginia's. All right. Thank you very much delegate. Bob thomas. Appreciate your thanks so much. All right. Seven fifteen now WMA,.

In for rush on America's number one radio show. Let us go to Jerry in the blue and blue state of California, Jerry, you'll live on America's number one radio show. Hello, undocumented master. Hello. Your document you one of the rare residents of California who is documented, Jerry. I'm one of the few residents still remaining as well. Good. Good. Good for you. What's what's on your mind today? Well, I just want to let you know. I grew up in the seventies about. Oh, five or six miles from the border, south San Diego. And when I was a kid, man, they were groups some talented groups and groups of people coming over people today don't really understand what's happening because that's been happening for a long time. I'm sure you do. But when I was a kid actually, the city police say which and. Mean they would corral them up and just call the border patrol wasn't CPAP back. Then. Right. And they would come up and huge advantage is taken away, and they can't get involved now, and you know, Tijuana's move north team miles market, not a place you want to be anymore. No that that's basically your state has as a matter of policy. I mean, this tragic story from a couple of days ago about corporal sing at an immigrant from illegal immigrant from Fiji working as a police officer. And he's killed by an illegal immigrant and Democrats won two arrays the distinction between legal immigrants and illegal. So they basically just talk about immigrants, but basically they've taken the side of the illegal guys. And they've they've they've transformed the laws of the state of California. So that to privilege, essentially illegal invaders. Yeah. But you know, it wasn't like that. When I was a kid, you know, they didn't tolerate that back then Nagel. In southern California was mostly Republican. Yeah. It wasn't a it wasn't a political issue back then it was just a border issue. And we said, no. And they you know, they did what they could take them and held them back. And by the way, my wife Jean and she knows the mother of that young, man. No, no. That's that's that's true because I love Fiji. But they've had a few problems over the last couple of decades. And it's no denying that because they're sort of age. So is your wife Indian or native Fijian as it were? European fijian? Okay. That's that's that's a rig and foresee fee. I love Fiji, but has had a couple of and an and there have been people who have who have left in in recent decades. And what's terrible is too. They've done all the right things. Like, your wife, presumably fill in the paperwork and all the rest of it. And they're told that they don't matter. And the what matters is this group that just walked straight into the country and says to hell with the paperwork. We don't care why coming in. But you, but you're right to the other day when I was listening to you. And I really appreciate what you do on the show because you're just so factual too so refreshing because people on the radio just don't know a damn thing. But you're right. The other day when you said it takes an average for GM twelve years to come into the United States. And you're factually, right. Yep. Yeah. No, that's that's true. It the legal immigration is has seized up. So that if you want to get Mary Poppins in come and be a nanny for your kids. You should basically apply to bring Mary Poppins in about ten years before you're planning on having kids. She's gonna arrive too late, Jerry. It has changed a lot since the seventies. And for people who live in southern California. You said southern California was Republican men. Yeah. And it's not now and Orange County. The last bastion ton deep blue in the last election. The demography is destiny on the scale on which it's happening in America today. It's transformative Jerry says nineteen seventies. You grew up in the seven th nineteen seventy if you go back to nineteen seventy when people say, whatever happened to Ronald Reagan's California. It doesn't exist anymore. It's been demographically Iraised and transformed. And if you do that then there is. Isn't going to be a few you chamber of Thomas Republicans? You're going to be nowhere because that isn't. That's that's gone. You think you think it's very clever, but.

"I'm not saying that's just because I may in the future appeared before the supreme court. Thomas, you better be on my side. At the time of Justice Thomas's confirmation. I had been in the Senate for fourteen years, we had gone from unanimous confirmation process for Justice o'conner to a more contentious processor chief Justice Rehnquist to the all out warfare, Bork and Thomas. Thomas nominations. The attacks had become increasingly heated increasingly personal by all appearances. We are on the on the road to the events. Then something interesting happened. We took a step back. Consider the next to supreme court nominations, Ruth, later Ginsburg and Stephen Brier. Both of them are very interesting justices on the United States Supreme court. There are friends from the Carter days. Both were well-known liberals before joining the bench Ginsburg had been the general counsel prior had been Ted Kennedy's chief counsel. But they were both well respected at solid reputation on the court of appeals. I knew that. So when President Clinton called me in nineteen ninety three to ask us on whom he should laminate to the supreme court. I suggested Ginsburg Brier because I'm sure it's gonna take the most left wing nut cake. He could find. They were certainly not the nominees. I would have chosen had I been been president. But as the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary committee at the time. I thought it was important to try to work with the White House to dial back the problems with the confirmation process and the bitterness that was existing and the rancor that had been escalating for so long and to his credit, President Clinton nominated justices Ginsburg and Brier. Both had smooth confirmations and confirmation processes somewhere confirmed overwhelmingly by both Democrats and Republicans Justice Ginsburg confirmation vote was ninety two three Justice Briars was eighty seven to nine. And so after the all out partisan attacks on Thomas. Republicans took a step back from the brink. I've been criticized by some for my role in suggesting Justice Ginsburg prior to President Clinton. But I believe it was the right thing to do. I was really worried about who is who is really gonna point new imagine who they would've loved to Republicans were in the minority at the time we cannot block President Clinton's nominees. So I was interested in getting the best people we possibly could in those two night. Book is good as you can get from that administration. But we could work with the other side to stop the slide into the abyss. And that's what we did the confirmation worse. Hit a pause. Thanks are relatively calm with the lower court level as well as well. Much of Clinton's presidency. There was some sniping. At the fact that the nominations were taking longer to process at practice. The Democrats have begun under George H W Bush the confirmations were generally by partisan. If there even was a real called rather than a voice vote or unanimous consent agreement. Let's take a quick look at the DC circuit. The most important circuit court in the country. President Clinton appointed three judges to the DC circuit. Judith Rogers, David tell and very garland. He also nominated Elena Kagan Allen Snyder during the latter part of his second term, but the Senate did not act on their nominations following the precedent Senate Democrats said under George Hw Bush, judges Rogers and to tell we're both confirmed by a reasonable votes, really. Listen, the difficult thing for both confirmed by voice vote within four months of film nation. Justice Garland's confirmation process was a bit different. There was a dispute at the time of aware. There was a. Whether there was a need for another judge on the DC circuit. Compared to other courts of appeal appeals, the DC circuit had a smaller caseload per judge after an extended back and forth. The Senate voted to confirm judge garland, eighteen months. He was nominated beloved was seventy six to twenty three. Majority of Republicans supporting his nomination. I'm gonna pause for just a moment here to swap up, my speech boxes. When you have a lecture this thorough. The first detailed distinguished that takes more than one, speech blocks..

"There are some justices that supreme court rolling rise in cringing because because you're, you're calling for Justice, you're not supposed to be partisan. You're not supposed to be political Jeffrey. You're supposed to be above that. Let's say he's confirmed. How does he get above that? Given the angry, very angry statement. He made accusing the Democrats of engaging in a conspiracy to destroy his life. There is a mythology about the supreme court that they are entirely divorced from politics. I mean, it is no coincidence that. Presidents the and frankly it's gotten much more politically and it used to be that justices were sometimes surprises to the presidents who appointed them. I mean, -joyed Eisenhower appointed Earl Warren and William Brennan who turned out to be much more liberal than expected. There are no surprises on that supreme court anymore. There you, this is a key part is if you look at Donald Trump's personal life, you think his personal life appeals to even Jellicoe of course not, but has he delivered for them on the judiciary? Has he delivered Neal, Gorsuch and Brad Kavanagh, you bet he has because that's where our politics are now that the judiciary and see as part of our politics and frankly it is. So I don't blame you in the end. You manned up earn after watching all these hours of testimony. You may end up exactly where you started because both of these people had effective statements. They were both emotional. About their stories. They were both one hundred percent. This didn't happen. She was one hundred percent. This did happen, and if you are inclined to believe him, I believe you will still believe him or if you support him because he is a conservative jurist. Right? And if you're on client to believe her. John, he made it clear a bread Kevin, I, he's fighting. He's not dropping out. There was some suspicion going into opening statement that maybe he had enough. He was ready to move on, forget about it. He made it clear that is not happening, but it all comes down as you correctly. Point out to a few senators who will make the difference. Fifty. One Republicans forty, nine Democrats, if all the Democrats hold firmly against him and they lose two Republicans, it's over and what makes them moment. So fascinating is that the four Republicans were watching most closely on the committee, Jeff flake and Ben says than Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, four Republicans who are inclined to vote for Brad Kavanagh because they think he's one of them. They think he's from the Bush Republican party. They think he's an establishment Republican party. He's the pre Trump Republican party who happened to be picked by President Trump does their calculation chain. Are they swayed by a Donald Trump nominee who became a Trump fighter today, attacking the Democrats, the Clintons you called me evil. You've destroyed by. Brad Kavanagh wet full Trump today. And is that appeal to them or does it repulsed them? Because they don't like Trump. They don't need those four key senators. They are repulsed not only by this president by how he conducts himself by history. So does Kavanagh's embrace of Trump help him with those four key senators or does it hurt him? That's the question. There is a precedent as the lawyers like to say Neal, Gorsuch, but Neal Gorsuch is not a George. Herbert Walker, Bush Republican. He is not even a George W Bush Republican. He is Clarence Thomas Republican. He is way over there on the far right of the court as Brett Kavanagh will be because that's where the Republican party is today. That's where the federalist society who made the list of potential nominees is. So they Susan Collins may be deluding herself into believing as she apparently is that Brad Kavanagh is not determined to overturn Roe v Wade. I don't know what book she's reading. I don't know what she's listening to, but just watch if. This guy gets confirmed. The key question of chairman, Gloria, this committee Chuck Grassley is going to have to decide in the next hour or two is whether or not there will be a vote tomorrow morning at nine thirty AM among the twenty one members of the judiciary committee. Eleven Republicans and ten Democrats to see if this if this confirmation moves up. Well, some are he seemed quite determined by I'm I would argue to do it and he quoted Senator Biden from the Anita hill hearings about the FBI investigation..

They claim to cripple his candidacy. There will be a hearing with the accuser and Cavanaugh giving their sides of the story next week. We are joined live by ABC news legal analyst, Royal Oakes. WTMJ? Good morning, Royal. Hey, good morning. So give us the chronology of how this whole letter came to end up in Senator Feinstein's possession, pretty strange situation. Now the alleged assault occurred in nineteen eighty two. Although the accuser isn't one hundred percent sure of the year, she knows it was during high school party. She didn't tell anybody about this until two thousand twelve so you got about thirty years going by she's in couples therapy in two thousand twelve with her. Husband and this this incident occurs. She tells the therapist that there were four young men in the room. That's what the notes say. Now, you saying that was an by the therapist. They were just too there. So the the couple's therapy happens in two thousand twelve but it wasn't until the summer of this year when the accuser determines that Jesus guy who is known to be a bad guy for a long time lines on the shortlist for supreme court might be nominated.
