"The rocks the cradle on rocking the rog. Abed cradle Yeah i'm glad we inserted that into this episode because my god darkened about resident. Evil do thousand. Do you can't do it. He can't do. Here's this movie is nothing. It's too dark hallway and people who have have walking down and the amnesia thing so like milla jovovich character and some other guy england's thomas jane at to time like just yeah just exactly that guy like he's really good looking You think he'd be a huge lead and he's just not he's like almost perfectly paired with kevin bacon on the following show is absolute trash. But like i was like those you got a good match. Their there about right. i'm process. I like pure man. The added to the wine show like he's delightful presents. I like i love to rome. His great unroll foams rules I think we only watched. Maybe like five. So episodes of that now is like well. Then the the second season they got cancelled their like. Let's just a cut ahead like twenty years what happened. They wanted to do the antony and cleopatra thing that was clearly he sees it three or even four thing. It's like the light comedy clubs so they're gonna cost how to do it in one room and income patra in one room. Then we can. We can do that. We could fund that but this So the two of them have amnesia. And it's bullshit thing because it's like the way the screenplay like facilitates all this buck an exposition. Like what what. The umbrella corporation is what raccoons cities doing. And the first thing you see on the screen is like it. Looks like a like an email reply. The incident of raccoon city. And then you get voiceover. Jason is it is. It is who you see at the ass end of this movie as that doctor. I didn't pay attention. Sort of like. He's sorta like juges by the frame really quick. At the beginning of the twenty first century the umbrella corporation became the largest commercial entity in the united states. Nine out of every.

"Yeah well yeah wolverine. That was the first one you guys see that one. Yeah i saw it. It was so dark and depressing. Was it was good. It's takes place if you hadn't seen it takes place in the future. Where like basically mutants are being hunted almost extinct at that point and logan wolverine is like an old man so in his standards. Because he's like two hundred years old but he's getting soul that he actually is dying at this point so it's it's dark depressed very depressed uplifting can date. It's rack widow is a top ten was. I don't even know what blackwood who is. What was that just came out with a scarlett johansson. I haven't seen it was good. I liked it really good okay. Infinity war was sixth. Okay civil war. Captain america was seven. Good thor ragnarok one. Yeah three came in ninth. That's one of the worst movies they are you kidding me on the worst list. The number one film was the one. You just mentioned. I knew that was giving number. One fit tastic. Four silver surfer. That's it number two that movie. I believe the world almost as bad as the original fantastic for which comes in fifth. Yeah they need to redo those x. Men origins wolverine came in second. Oh my gosh. it's very confusing. Because captain america chris evans is in the original fantastic four. That's right flame on flava. Yeah it's him human guy whatever his name is right him yeah my only way they shortlisted totally ticked off all eso. What number ten on the worst on the worst. Howard the duck. Oh my god makes appearances though. Who is howard. The duck very random very random and it's made of it at some references and guardians of galaxy. H right really yeah. It was very strange by the collector. Now guardians of the galaxy part of this. No they didn't make it in. I love those. I guess there's somewhere in the middle. I guess so. That would be it. So they're not here. Howard the duck by the way what he did have its own stand alone movie and it was so bad that people try to forget that it existed. It was a live action movie with. I believe leah thompson from back future. Yes yes those. Her was in that and it was a live action. It was like this puppet duck and they were having like this relationship and everything. And he might call a boozer too. yeah he's sluggish. Yuck yeah very strange character. They they they kind of let it after. They'll do something with that. There are there. Are howard the duck easter eggs. That's true but you no. They'll do a movie you think show. Yeah oh no beyond what they already did. By the way. I think all the fantastic four films no matter which one you pick me were good. I thought the first one was cute. And i know the guy who was the cinematographer on those really my brothers. Yeah is there. What was the punisher. All the punish. I love that movie. It's on the worst list. They're stupid that is such a good movie. Thomas jane he plays the punisher. You see those shirts everywhere. Yes with that logo. That's such a can movie and john. Travolta is the travolta's he's the villain and he plays a good villain in that movie. That's a great movie if you've ever seen that that's like one of those indie marvel movies before they started doing like ironman thorn everything early. Two thousands marvel movie. It's extremely violent but man is a good god. You know too much. That's a stupid released. I'm starting to worry about him. Bill like really scary wondering how much time you really do have. Yeah you've seen every one of them..

"Also the case that in the original ending. Ll cool. J. may have been killed instead of saffron burrows and i think one can see why audiences would have had extremely negative reactions to this because you cannot kill. Ll cool j. yeah absolutely. He's a very likable character. In this film You don't wanna see him get eaten by a shark and i will say that When i was watching him. I thought he was going to get eaten by the shark because he is attacked by shark. Yeah late in the picture in a way. That looks severe enough that i'm like oh he's gone but then he's just got a slight limp later. Yeah it looks like they filmed death scene for him but then went back on it. Yeah which which i'm fine with. It was totally the right choice. You look at that first film where basically a shark nudges still on scars. Gardening arm falls off. You know it's like he's. He's just like boiled chicken to this monster. Hello he is made it tougher stuff. He's he's really ripped But so apparently test audiences hated saffron burrows character With with some reason. I think they reason that she caused all of this. Like she made the killer sharks and they did not like her surviving and playing a heroic role in the finale so the ending was changed so that instead she sacrifices herself to to defeat the sharks and she gets chopped into pieces and ll cool. J. survives getting bitten by the shark and in the end he helps save the day. So i think the the kind of flipped the script on that and then wonder if they may have shot additional scenes for l. j. or or additional moments for him to go earlier in the movie and i read that they also edited out some stuff with saffron burrows earlier in the movie that makes her character more sympathetic so they kind of leaned into making her less likable. I mean obviously it sounds like they used to focus group. But i'm i'm reminded of the films of william castle. You know like they could have gone in that direction of like all right now time for audiences devote right to kill the shark and who will be eaten that would have been. That would have gotten people to go see the movie twice. I'll also say that the final shark death in this film is of course totally jaws. It's very reminiscent of that final scene. Where where a the main character shooting at the shark with the rival trying to hit the The canister in its mouth. We have a similar but more elaborate science fiction. He set up going on in the final moments of this film. Yeah there are three mind freak sharks in this movie one gets blown up by l. Cool j in the oven. One gets electrocuted by saffron burrows is that right and then the third one gets blown up in when it's trying to escape yes and so we're left with just l. o. Cool j And our in our sharks bert character. What's his thomas jane. Yeah yeah thomas. They're going to be best buds for life. Yeah well they have..

"You're encountering them in hallways for human application human movement bear on our turf. They have invaded or are part of our world now. I love the hallways in this movie. This movie is all about hallways. And gimme gimme yeah. They're very nice hallway very well done as someone who's watching a lot of outer limits episodes from the ninety s. I recognize the nice sifi hallway. But anyway so this article goes on to say that kennedy finally purge to those dreams about the sharks in a hallway that could read his mind by writing screenplay About them which they say evolved into the new warner brothers thriller so perhaps in an earlier draft of the screenplay the sharks could read your mind. I i'm not sure they're not clear about that. One thing. that's funny is reading about market research about films that came out decades ago so another thing. This article in the la times notes is that Is that recent tracking data shows. That interest in the film is very high. Among its core young male audience though not as high as the interest was for the other upcoming film. The blair witch project or maybe not upcoming maybe at this point blair witch had already come out. I think it came out some time in july nine or something like okay. Well let's talk about this. Cast all right. So we have. Thomas jane playing the character carter blake thomas. Jane was born nineteen sixty nine and he is our. He is our shark spurt in the film he has he is. He's our lead hunk. He's these very much leading man mode for this. Know he's he's in a wet suit a lot just just looking real handsome. But he he's been a number of interesting films over the years ranging from albert nemesis cyborg movie in nineteen ninety two to terrence malick. The thin red line in nineteen ninety eight. "He's a yeah. He's he's got a real crush on thomas jane thank you nicholas are night. I feel like he was saying a lot of the things that we've already said. I'll just go ahead. Chris shots also on facebook had a had a great comment. He said i liked it. But i never read the books so there we go. Thank you. chris shot full stop period full stop. He liked it but he never read the book. So i think we're solving the mystery of who this movie was made for and we are. Yeah i think it was for that. Alex is of no affiliation with the books. And the nick butlers. It wasn't for the revs in the agencies and the bands. It was not for us. Which is weird. isn't it. Weird to like alienate the fans of the franchise in your movie. That's hollywood baby as a marvel fan i disagree. I think marvel does a great job of telling a familiar story but changing enough to still appease new watchers and people who've been reading for a long time well mar marvel's stands out apart from a lot of old school hollywood. Yeah that's fair sneaking of marble. One of the things that i was thinking about is there has been a lot of talk around the internet about having a stephen kinga extended universe. You know you've got the marvel extended universe. What about like the or the marvel. Cinematic universe not like stephen king cinematic universe and a lot of people were talking about how the dark tower could play perfectly into that. That could be the avengers because the dark tower is white connects so much of the stephen king extended universe and i feel like they wanted to do a cinematic universe with that it would be so. You gotta have a kevin. You've gotta have someone that has the overall vision because like if you look at castlerock castle..

"What I don't know what it is about movie birds Yeah Yeah you're right bird we should go this. I, love movie parents that way yeah. Yeah. No no no. No. Like I love the movie parrot and then there's the whole on Samba cast that. has to slowly get killed off for you have a couple surviving members left I kind of feel like. L. J. has. His story is the real movie and it's just happening on the side of like these other four people trying to get out like he's on this floor alone with Sharkey leg axis is way out of an oven. Hills, the shark kills himself, Yeah Yeah Yeah, just not really believable way but still it because the shark aid is bird. Yeah it was justice. Yeah. It has to be justice justice. And Love the line you ate my bird. And then. Yeah. And then later gets eaten by a shark will get bitten bitten. Yes by Shark and then. stobbs the shark with with these across symbolizing, Jesus. He's Right. It's his faith in the story. coming through and finally saving him in the moment that batteries like. His. His story to me is just like it's It's the most interesting plotline in this whole thing I mean, it's incredible to me. He is the hero total. Yeah. He's 'cause even like page to comment like when I was asking you thought was going to make it out. She was like, Oh, I think our hero in referring to Thomas Jane that I feel that's the lake. That's decoy hero. This movie has a lot of decoys life that the Sam Jackson you'd like like you see him in you sort of think like he's GonNa, play a major role and then right and then that scene where he's giving his speech by the way I wanted to give the speech about this about this other time he survived an avalanche. Why didn't they go into prequels instead of sequels of the I want to see him get off the what do they Himalayans deep, White Snow Deep Blue Sea depoits. No like. Yacht could be I. Don't know. Deep. Maybe I don't know but something. Yeah something but like but like. I want to see that movie. That's a great movie off. So he's. Giving this like two minute long speech Sandra. Like is about to get bitten. Four. Seconds later, the leads out of the water and goes woo flails like spill slick Hafer drink. You just. Just sit home and then you get scared you. Know. That was that was that was a great a great scene and another example of just like A. Decoy. Coming in where like you you expect it to go a certain way and then and then he gets killed off like very very early on. Yeah. Yeah, yeah it's. Crazy well, apparently was I was reading about it and the. Director. I'm assuming is. The. Director. Was League inspired by alien for that scene. Tom Scary. In alien was like the best actor when they made. It legal to kill off like halfway through and no one expected it, and it makes the whole 'cause. Then school teen is even more freaked out because they lost their leader. An audience isn't expecting it sort of freaks audience. Howdy. So kind of what they did with Samuel Jackson because he was the biggest after the time and he was trying to pull the team together. Like and like inspire hope and be like no matter what happens we've got gotta stick together and then he's taken out of the equation. It's a whole team and supposedly the whole audience is like Oh crap. What happens now? We`re Like your yes. So that's funny. Alien that way I love Alien. Yeah. So. I've been doing I've been doing drafts on cast I used to do it with either characters or scenes, but doing it now with just. Anything that you love about the movie, you can just draft. Your favorite. Your favorite features of the movie. So like what like what would be your number one favorite thing about the movie like like what like makes this? A number one for you. Like what is one thing? Oh. My Gosh. There's just so much goodness in it. whole not well, I I took notes wall. While he was watching it. And there's just so many things that like I forget about until. I'm in the moment watching it and I'm like. Okay. My number. One thing I love. I love Michael rapaport playing physicist. Little. Have you seen the video? The he posted on the cat. There's a cat out here. Looks like grandma you've not seen. Okay look it up after. It's not disappointing in the slightest. I. The. Like just feel like it's all these just little. Trinkets throughout the movie like the smoking though the head scientists smoking in a pressurized lab. WHO does. that. Seemed Very. Which leads me to think is this actually the ultimate anti-smoking add? Immediately when the lights a cigarette. Bites his entire arm off. Yeah. I do you love? Win. Susan Susan. I feel. She'd be doctor something like that's what they would call. Just season when she decides that she's going to attract the shark in the end of the movie. And doesn't mean. To sacrifice herself but yeah, but does. I love the shark waits a beat recognizes her. As like this bitch and then eat. And I love that. Because She's like after all they're just animals and then the sharks like why.

"Male flight attendant for no reason just out of the blue it I'm like I don't even know what the fuck is happening here. I just know that I despise it. It all comes down to just lack of ambition like I. think that's the real point like this like they could workshop the script to make it makes some sense that wouldn't cost money and they still could have included most the stuff they included. They could just explained us and they didn't bother like this just feels like a movie. I don't know how these guys like it's. It's really hard to make a movie. So have these guys make movie without doing any of the legwork? Seemingly it's kind of unusual to me. I guess they have a lot of money you know. Get with Stephen grew because honestly they can get where he needs to get between them. Yeah. I don't understand how you allocate some of this money like why the fuck would you pay Denise Richards to be in this movie? Why the fuck would you pay Thomas Jane sit in a room and mumble and pilot a drone to assassinate people or something. Plays Video Games for a little while yeah. That's called money. You should not spend in your movie because ads fucking nothing. I I would agree I would agree I I mean Disney Disease Richards early have poll. If you put her on your your movie poster does that Say oh? This is quality I I don't I don't know. When's the last theatrical released movie that Denise Richards is? Who that's a great question she's she's Big Star on real housewives of Beverly Hills. So that's that's nothing to sniff that there. That's that's a real shit. Although I mean frankly. I'm just saying like honestly she's real housewives Beverly Hills they could do an episode on her filming this and their date have more content there than she has in the movie and it would look better she that's the other thing that's weird to she looks so much better on that show than she does here you money like damn, Denise Richards, looks, Kinda old and edge looks like he could use a hair dye job and everybody just kind of looks like Shit. except. For Fraser he looks great. But yeah like denise, Richards on real housewives looks million ties better. You Watch that show you like she really hasn't age, but she's doing great good for her. She could yell at some other women about the the silverware placement at a tea party. That's that's good. That's good conflict. Of the answer by the way, I think it is Medina's witness protection in twenty two. All Classic Classic we all do we think do we think this as franchise legs? Do we think we can have like money train and money boasts and money case there are. Money. There's already a monitoring Wesley does as ropes they wrote themselves into, they wrote themselves into a corner then down, they didn't even think of any of the permutations now they didn't. "You want to wager on the money plane as you. Russia. is carry up to a billion onboard crypto and millions in cash. Union crew. To take down the house. God. So this is the kind of movie money played us the kind of movie where normally I think we should fly under all of our radars. It's. Bunch of B movie actors kind of generic direct to video action flick which Lord knows. I. Watched my fair share but. This one normally would not land on my radar at all. However, because we all have pandemic brain right now the Internet decided that money was going to be the movie of Twenty. Twenty where making money plane a thing they all decided. So we all share the trailer and everybody watched it, and then the ringer wrote an oral history of money plane and now we are continuing the era of nor me good bad cinema. So welcome gentlemen how was your experience on the money plane? There's nothing worse than flying budgets is there. It's rough. She's. Yeah I mean I don't have much to say guys other than foreshadowing that I don't think any of us like this movie. So work with that. It kind of sucks because if you look at the cast here, how how can I not love this? It's got fucking edge from WWe who I will remind you eleven time. WWe world heavyweight champion fourteen. Times tag champion former king of the ring former money in the bank winner former royal rumble winner. This guy's like an Alzheimer. No absolute grape. So he's the rumble. He's the wrong. Is really good because I had no idea who he was but like I I keep telling you. I literally thought it was Brian Thompson had aged really really well and. I like. This is the edge guy. Look. I, did the movie stars Frazier that's about as far. Frazier Denise Richards was like as far as I process the credits. That everything was a surprise Thomas Jane as well as it does have eight has this this trio of named actors like people against edges is like famous interesting which I obviously am not I guess that's where the budget went because the rest of the film doesn't have a budget very very clearly it's very very this is a very pared-down production and I'm not sure if I don't know but the shooting, this thing is effect by the cove nineteen because there's some really weird staging like no one select people just don't seem like they're in the same room together but I don't know if that's covert or just like frazier shot this at his house as a cash grab and I worked for a day and that's it..

Let's make sure that you get footsteps up the stairs there. Those are going to be really hard to create. Let's make sure that you get the space of this beautiful cathedral that you're ran. I want you to ouster two minutes of room tone so we can use that. On Your on the other side of the world is very unique sounds and insects and life. We want some raw sounds of that. Can you please get me more or less? Recently. The film with. Alec Baldwin and Thomas Jane called Crown Vic. And It's a story about. Two COPs in L. A.. A rookie Kaban a veteran cop. So, we wanted to capture. The sounds of La at night. This story happens all in one night. So we went out and we actually captured the sounds night, various parts of villa in recorded. La from all times of the night. Eleven twelve, one, two and three, and you wouldn't believe the kind of sounds. That are rumbling through the city at night. It's just fascinating and we incorporated that into the movie. Yeah sounds like that would really capture the atmosphere. Right and give you a sense of like. Go on on year I'm in this car on standing on the street walking along, and they can hugh everything absolutely and. Capture that that atmosphere to mazing. Different levels of that because there's a perspective from inside the police car. You hear the ambiance of the police car. You hear the chatter on the radio. Then you hear the immediate sounds of driving by this driving by that. Maybe some people are yelling on the streets, and then you hear on even farther sound work, just the ambient hum of the city. It's like Breen It's fascinating. Yeah absolutely. Another interesting thing I see you do is that you're actually playing live sometimes to. To the movie or the TV show that you're working on a big screen in front of you and the scene is playing out the. Keyboard and you're actually playing. Something live with that same. Does that happen a lot or Yes? That's usually me scoring a movie. Typically these days. If you're not using an orchestra, you're using. It'll fireballs and stuff like that. It's very boss level off. Level video game type of the convinced that guy to go ride a port and grind. Do the grind thingy. Down the rail. I thought that was. I thought that was great. Because it took the, he wasn't GonNa win that fight, and any used his head to true. He used his head against todd. The Devon and that I thought was hysterical when Thomas Jane and. Clifton Collins Junior come in? Is the Vegan police? Oh my God. frigging awesome. Awesome. At the end after they. Yes. Yes. And then Scott sitting there and he's doing a little talk about like you know. What you're beaten! Your drink that you had with had. It was really cool way of like. Don Together to. sixty one it's unbelievable and you go back and you think about similar merits which the first year when the game was sixty one I saw millers and when they look like middle America is unbelievable and I watched the Lou Gehrig's story which was done by Samuel Goldwyn Mayer that's how long that that movie was made and it's such a terrible movie but Gary Cooper got Babe Ruth in the movie I watch that Lou Gehrig's story I'm not even engaged have been my guy but I was the guy was sent and I watched I watch for night lights to which I got a minute is good it was good it was actually better than I thought it was what was that again I'm trying to get lots of the other sports movies what usually I don't think so I think that's it for this was movies I watched I I come up with some crazy movies ideas you know the I went back and watched Gary Sinise as Truman on HBO which I completely recommend L. his crew so well done Truman is so unbelievable when you think of presidents and think of a guy who didn't want to be president and is thrust into the middle of everything is Truman I got a bunch of calls here let me get to him Richard joins us what separates it Mexico once gone okay mac in and a week from forty nine met before I share I know you mentioned that you were on the phone with the odds agent right before the trade when it I believe was not right the Florida nun he he called about and one right before because we were on the air when it happened it was about it was about eleven o'clock in the morning at about eleven o'clock in the morning I say live eleven thirty something like that yeah it was and that was that was done on the I think if I remember right yes yes yes we know that Dan Dan is a big player in the game of representative yeah I mean it was it was basically what he told me was is going to cubs yeah yeah well that's what a distraught the pot that that I've spoken to a couple agents this week because I work with players on the marketing your strategy side is that right we have a lot of friends in common up there at the Chrysler building and boy I went into but I have another day I was on a quiet Jimmy Rollins and it's funny because Jimmy when he and I started started working together in his MVP year oh seven oh six you don't really trust me because I was a method right but we built this trust report and I took Jimmy to Twitter the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco when the Phils were on a road trip and right and the turn of the decade there and that was at a time when MLB was very not okay with players taking command of their own social media and it's okay to say this now because Gerald retired and wonderful multi year deal in broadcasting the M. all was that sure they're telling all players but you're specifically telling us black players that were on our Twitter this is two thousand ten but exactly not exactly given the same scope and right now I think the most interesting point in the last couple days not only young players that are already on the forty man other guys that I work with that are yet to be on a forty minute young black ball players and some of their white counterparts your white out like I've been throughout my life are saying we're not putting down any more well but here's the thing though coming out if Tory hundred coming out and saying I was called the N. word in Boston repeatedly from my rookie year to the day I retired and we know where pumps to Greenspan's in that regard baseball right now has a social responsibility to get back out in the field outside of all the peas and cues no question but here's the thing here's the thing though the other part of it is that you're not mentioning is and you know this is that they want those guys to clean up their social media from the standpoint of all the stuff they've put on there that's going to backfire on them that deals with old girlfriends in the unit you know the stuff that agents going to clean up as these guys get drafted and get off get that stuff out of there that they have on there from when they were young and stupid you know what I'm talking about and get all that stuff and get all that stuff off there so that they don't get hit with that stuff you know when guys put pictures up there we should put up put up there they do things they say things they shouldn't say you know the stuff I'm talking about so that and that's obviously they've that they they and that's your job to make sure that's all taken care of very much so Mike but from a baseball perspective from of young not listen I and I understand you're what you're what you're saying is you're not going to get and thanks for the call you're not gonna get the players the the pipe down anymore the player is going to be more out spoken from a social standpoint you might be very right it might be very right now the climate is very much C. he is that what I always say about this the pendulum swings and it always swings too much one way and when that happens it has a way of adjusting back to the center it always does it whatever you're talking about economics culture social change whatever it'll swing the momentum is one way it swings too far one way and then there's a backlash the other way and swings back the other way as I I've always noticed that to happen in every different walk of life Kelly Madison was okay no matter who interesting discussion on one of your previous shows about the lack of progress in the field graduation turns and I think we get the point you made about increasing in the horse world would that increase the Madera abilities as opposed to taking away from it what one more time are you are you from Madison Wisconsin another reason we are from yes you live in Madison you live in Madison Wisconsin I'm here for you to work no great city great city one one of the most one of the best secrets in America's might affect grades yeah absolutely beautiful city now what what was the question about race and I get given to a woman more having a Christian discussion about how in the celebration well nothing's changed in that performance times over the years yes I was very grateful human times where you know the correct yeah that's that's about Johnny last long not qualify for it so in the news about this do you wish to one he said was in breeding breeding wouldn't have would not go the opposite way would not make them faster no I don't think it does I I think it actually I think it makes them more brittle and I don't think it's good for them long term I can't prove this I'm not a scientist but I actually think two things I think number one they've probably taken he added a month at a mile for a flurry for a good around the grounds three hundred yards the Palmer the chief it was the fastest animal in the world for one mile after about it a quarter of a mile if they will race in a straight line the only one still racing at a quarter of a mile is a thoroughbred racehorse the only animal in the world he still racing hill races speed up to a mile and a half okay and he will keep racing out of the other animals will tire he will not tire he will keep bracing for and keep up that speed to where he runs a mile okay in a minute and a half think about what are you meant runs a mile and a certain race was runs a mile and one and a half minutes so the realize how fast the is okay my point is they have not improved the breed while the Uman time right now Olympian a sophomore in high school would be Johnny will is Johnny Weissmuller Olympic time so that's how much or go back to when four minutes and five seconds would win the mile in the Olympics and now it would be three minutes and forty eight seconds okay or whatever it would be okay my point is this improvement all the time in racing we have racing times that have stood since the sixties secretariat's world record still holds at a mile and a half it is day from nineteen seventy three and I think it is partially because of the inbreeding myself that I can't prove that but I think it's better that we are dealing from saw you're not adding any new strains or any new strains of the breed is my thought process now again I'm not a scientist they're a lot smarter people than me that could figure that out I'm just giving you what I think might be a reason but.

"But the way that he plays his character the, the scene when he's Suber coke doubt and he goes nuts. It's just perfect. And even the first time you see him at the party like this douchebag. Yeah, he's trouble. It's so weird. How actors like they get their moment. It's almost like it doesn't really matter, the age necessarily, as they get their moment of fifty but it's like generally speaking men, I should say, yes, different actors and actresses, but, like men, get their moment somewhere in their thirties, usually like it's maybe they've been in a team move. Or some is some stuff in her late twenties. But very often like you'll look at someone's career one that it really take off. And it's like, oh, they were thirty four when they made that role you remember and they've got ten years or so, where they're sort of like that guy. Yup. I remember when his career was sort of starting and taking off and it gets punisher in there. Did that movie standard? I think it was called. Yeah. Right. Like he's in a few things for a little while. And you the whole time you're kind of, like, all right. Thomas Jane, there, you guys are trying to make him a thing. You look back on it. You're like he was almost a thing. He really was quite and I don't know if it's because of maybe just this movie was just the perfect thing for maybe like the way that him in PT worth the other maybe the ensemble cast elevated him. Yeah. There's just something about him in this moment. It was just perfection. Yeah. Yeah. I'm big fan of Tom Shane he's another guy never met him never interviewed him. But I think it'd be fun to talk to heard gonna weird. He goes to goes to comic cons, and he walks around. Barefoot. Really? Yeah. This is thing. I've heard that wouldn't say anything to him. Yeah. Maybe offer my shoes yet. But. But yeah, because of the punisher thing I think he's like a mistake at these things, you know. Yeah. Did you ever see dirty laundry, the thing from ten years later, the like extremely violent short someone made? No. But I do love that punish removing can leave never watched this now. Heat, like ten years after some, it was a fan made thing of him as Frank castle like doing his laundry, and there's like a robbery this going on down the street and he'd liked for ten minutes. Gets to be punished for Ganj like kill a bunch of dudes really. You've never watched. You should go on YouTube. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'll definitely watch that. What's your number two? My number choosing the Julianne Moore. It's. Yeah. Because because, for so many reasons because she's probably other than other than PS, h the most purely talented performer in the movie, she shows it off the scene, like in the in the courtroom just going to say afterwards, and she's crying outside the courtroom is just so brutal and her relationship. It's kind of weird motherly with, with, with Dirk has her. Yeah. But she plays those seen so well coached out with. Heather graham. It's incredible. And when she first meets Dirk, like I just there are so many scenes, there are just so many moments I, I love her in this movie, so much amber waves, she such a mother to everyone, but her own kid. Yeah. Is what's the Oxy? Yeah it's good. My number one's. Gotta Jay got to check. It's I mean it's not my number one is obviously fucking scotch yet. Is like everything from walking down the hallway to the kissing him out by the to even just buying the card everything. He does is perfect the best thing. I like to name a lot want. It's the best thing ever. If I was ever going again, that's, that's what sad one ever talked to ever. Got to talk to him or meet him. I don't know how I would not be able to bring up, Scotty, j as the very first thing it's. Yeah. It's I mean between that and being the nurse in magnolia co-partner. Yeah. Do you have a D which one edges one hundred hundred percent? I mean I mean, don't get me wrong. Like it's not like it's not close because as Phil, there are a lot of scenes magnolia that has, like I love when he's on the phone ordering the groceries and, and like they ask him a question at the end of you still wants the groceries after he gets the porn magazines because they think that he only order the groceries to get the four magazines. And like I love that he's on the phone with, with, with crews. And he's so excited enjoying more walks in, she starts slapping him. And he. The phone starts crying, his scenes with Jason Robards are unbelievable. Like he's the cuts to him. Like when cruises having, like crying moment just before, and I think he's like he's like, you, cock sucker and he's talking about cuts to, to fill Hoffman, and he's just like shows his face. He's the he's. Like he's that guy is the real deal. He he is. He's like, truly one of the saddest stories in Hollywood because he had he could have won five Oscars. Yeah. By the time he was retired, you know, and even even all the way down to, and obviously, this isn't his choice. This is just Berlin costume design but his wardrobe in the way he wore it. Oh my God. In, in bogus. Oh, good. Everything's too small, and too tight. All the when they win the three of them go get their their clothes like the bell bottoms. He's like, so upset. Yeah, I love it. And he plays he plays his character. Exactly intelligently, the way it should. Yeah. He's not flamboyant. He's not over the top. It's just, just brilliant. There's we probably in the same way we've now done a warrior watch along need to do a book. And I watch along a hundred point. It seems because that's the only way I could really get behind being talk about every moment this movie that I wanna talk about. There's so many moments like looking at our next game we play here on the show and it's FAA line. And how do you pick one? Yeah. I really don't know. I think I think there's one that always stands up to stands out to me, and they're both during the drug deal gone band scene. But it's, it's when Todd starts turn into endured goes what the hell are you doing Todd? I'm like, why does he say he like that? What the hell are you doing? Like always it bothers me like really does. But I've learned to like, really love it. My other thing, though, is what's in the floor once in the God damn floors. One of the goddamn fucking four seven want right now. And he's like he's like, I'm not doing anything just like I just want to it's not. Yeah. Gun like the whole thing, and I love you can see his brain kind of trailing into madness right before he decides to snap and do it. That is my favorite line. Hands down is Todd Parker saying what he wants what's in the floor safe. Yeah. I think. Vaseline about my favorite my favorite my favorite line. It's probably it's probably when, when what's his name, very whatever. Looks over. It's real movie. Jack Jack we've said it so many times now that like it's just funny. It's like that's become like our line. We say, but I think it's a real movie Jack is probably my favorite line in the whole movie. I also really love when Dirk is dancing, or were necessary for just for the dancing scene. And he's in the, and he's in the store, and he's looking at the shoes, and he's like. I'm fucking by these. He's such like it is like I know where this is going to rise. There's gonna be a phone. Could not be a fall because we feel so good right now. Yeah. Yeah. I was born ready. Nick, like there's just there's so much about this movie. That, that gets me every time I watch it. I mean, the fact that that song is originally written by STAN Bush for the transformers, the animated movie soundtrack from nine hundred eighty six that's when that song is written, and that he was, like this is going to be funny. We're going to have him singing the song like he's the guy that could post it somehow that's going to be the story. Like that's just amazing that they came up with that. You know what else I love, and it's, it's a really dark moment, but it's when the Colonel in Jack Horner talking to the glass. Yeah, he's like, trust me. Don't you Jack each and he just like slowly hangs up phone. He's like. Just talking to just tell them you're my friend Jiang. Phrase like yelling Kate hear anything. It's, it's, it's hard to say heartbreaking. Yes. He's a pedophile grinds, a horrible person. Yeah. But the way that it's portrayed in the movie is just like oh, it's gut wrenching. Yeah. And then you see the ending when he's in prison. Yeah. And how that's going for him. Yeah. Oh man. God is movies insane. It's say, yeah, it's, it's got all all the intensity. Yes. So there's no question, which is what we would do. But if we, if you guys go over and watch action movie anatomy, you will get thesis statement and, and top five favorite line and fist pump and all the games that were playing here because that is the show that we do that on every single week to make it clear, just in case you are a fan of both just wondering there is no intention to move that show. That show continues over there. We just never gonna do boogie nights on that show. So we felt this was the opportunity to do whatever here because we love this movie. So goddamn much I think, honestly next week, we're probably going to a definitive ranking of the x men films on this show, and if not next week it'll be the week after but I, I think that is next week. Yeah, because X men dark Phoenix. Comes out for this weekend comes out this week and leave. So I'm going to see it tonight and we'll be doing a review, and if it's really good, then we're going to cover it. And if it's not we probably covered different X men movie on this show. I think the definitive ranking seems like you know what that means. That means I'm gonna have to watch the rest of raw raw raw is that is that was that Oscar Isaac the Oscar. In-studio right now. I don't know why him as apocalypse is so funny. It's just looks stupid. It looks like an envelope or no. It looks like the blueberry kid from willy Wonka, and like fan had a baby. I just wonder if he's like I just wonder, Oscar Isaac premier was sitting there watching me like. Stores. Money's coming thinking, like it just it's just like an even from like the set design. It's just like or I'm sorry, the costume designs guys, he looks menacing and mechanical in the comic books. He has like cables coming off the back of his. Hey, why does he look like weird and like some I know that it's supposed to be the whole four horsemen of the apocalypse, so he should look sort of like. It's so weird. You know, this is like a, gyp shin kind of thing. That's what you're going for. And I understand that. But make him look less human was that a Libya's mon- Olivia, Munns moment to become an actress, and then it just came in past. Well, she I mean she's been in other stuff as far as being like a as far as being like a legitimate. Let's say A-List big dramatic actress in movies. Maybe but I mean, she did multiple seasons of newsroom, which won Emmys, and she's great good on that. She was just in the new predator, which is awful. She's gotta show she's on now. I mean that movie was really high profile like being an X men movie but I mean, she's definitely, she's definitely a talented enough actress like she's shown enough moments. I just don't know if. I don't know if she I don't know what it is the air typecast or something, but she doesn't show up in, like she doesn't show up in like a ton of stuff like that was just like a name Ceylon. Exactly right. Yes. She gets Ionic blade. How cool there's a. Yeah. After go watch them Vegas, if we're going to a definitive rain due to I've watched it once. I don't really remember it young guys started watching that. I had never seen. When we did the definitive DC you rankings was aquaman. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Watch thirty minutes on airplanes. Not very good. It's not at all a bro, though. Yeah. To hang out with it, right. Like I get the love for it. I granted I think there's a lot of other weird stuff that, like I probably would start to understand later. If I watched like I didn't get to the Optimus, Bongos park and some of the scenes I've seen on YouTube, but it's just more than anything. I was just like there's, there's an interaction between, like his dad, and Nicole Kidman. And she's like where I'm from tears wash away, and you're like, okay so you can nod your head..

"And I I don't know if this is still the case or not. But he if he you know, if you had to use flash photography to take a photo with him. He had to look away. Like, he can't do the you can look at the flash. Right. So in most pictures, if you see Mick Foley looking away from the camera. That's why. Wow. Yeah. He's a guy that I've always worried about the health of you know, we didn't think about this in the nineties certainly not in the eighties. But now, you know, you really start to think of C T E in wrestlers special look back on people like Crispin wa in wonder if that could have been CTE related, and then you know, that match that. Mick Foley, had as mankind with the rock where he kept taking all those repeated chair shots retook like right to the dough like thirteen if you watch the documentary beyond the mat, there's a great interview there where they play some answering machine footage of Mick Foley, calling the producer of the the director of the film, and you can just tell that he's he's gone. He's just rambling incoherently, and it's really disturbing. Actually, it's it's funny that we went back to back on these picks this he actually was going to boycott raw as well. After that whole the screw job Eappen the next night on raw. He no showed. He knows showed raw. And then they went back, and there's a story that he told was like, you know, him and his wife like went through his contract, and basically for no showing raw he could have gotten like blocked from wrestling in any organization for five years. Wow. That probably would have been his benefit on, health wise. But I mean that that made his career right there say that didn't happen. You know, like so men shit happens, and you take one step the wrong way. All right. So we have these are final two picks bow. Let's see we're going to go with number eighteen number eighteen. Let's see rainy savage. The macho man himself. If we're going to do all these decades. Can you imagine putting this guy up against guys like Chris Jericho and Brock lesser things? Like that the interesting thing about Randy Savage's, I was going back and and kinda inspire. Rick to do the same thing. And watching all these old Royal rumbles like the matches themselves. Randy savage was kinda notorious for not really understanding the concept of the Royal rumble people throughout history of made fun of him for just you know, making bone. Yeah. So the nineteen Ninety-three rumble. He which I'm pretty sure it was won by yokozunas direct result of this. He tried to pin yokozuna during the match and took one of the dumbest looking eliminations in rumble history that I've ever seen if you've not seen this you need to see it because he tries to pin. Yokozuna next to the ropes yokozuna kicks out savage jumps up kinda gets hung up on the ropes because he doesn't clear it enough and then falls out and as limit. It's the dumbest looking thing I've ever seen but huge soft spot in my heart for Radi savage. So that's my pick is the macho man excellent. Like, I said you need somebody throw out of this match because there's a lot of people that are still in the ring. Yeah. Pretty stand point. Yeah. I'm not sure that the rink it hold all the weight. That's going on right now. We'll go to rings side by all that would be more game style. We hell. Yeah. All right here, we go more to that one. This is completely arbitrary at this point. Number six. All right. Number six big daddy. Cool diesel aka Kevin Nash, had the put him high up on my list, you know, Kevin Nash. Maybe not the best athlete once he found the right character and could actually use some of his own persona in that character. He was great is not too many bad things you can say about the man who played super shredder. So. And the Russian in the punisher the original punisher, well, not the original. But the Thomas Jane punisher movie, that's true. Now, something interesting about Kevin Nash is back in the end W O days, you had the wolf pack symbol where they'd make the, you know, the little hand symbol valor doesn't allow now..

"If I was watching speed or Air Force One or any of those other nineties action films. I would expect more from John. Woo. And maybe when you have Travolta and cage your leads. You just can't get that kind of physical action. Oh, there were stunt doubles all over the place on this the one CGI effect. They used was face pasting. So they would have stunt doubles do stuff and then digitally put Travolta's phase on their pretty poorly. I might add because during one stunt. I'm like what's wrong with that stunt doubles face? I didn't even realize it was supposed to be Travolta batches an extra layer Vira knee. They couldn't even take the face off. Right. If logics what we're bringing tarmac that. They ran down must have been like from there to San Diego that plane taxied so long. I'm just like I where are they getting all of this tarmac? It's as long as the one in furious five, well, it's hard to take off with his helicopter bouncing on here wing right by they would have hit the warehouse. They crashed into much earlier, but I am actually having fun as you have castor jumping out of an airplane within easy and yet somehow with a semiautomatic pistol Travolta can shoot faster than a news e interval to in or counting bullets from each other's guns. During this might seem like they'll face off against each other and be like each one bullet left. I see you've been counting. We have something in common. We both know our guns. But the point is at the end of this thing everyone believes that nNcholas cage is castor is dead, including John. Volt as Archer he retires, and I'm gonna this is a big thing for him. Because apparently, the only reason why he was doing police work was to avenge the killer of his son. I think in other movies that could have been the entire arc. Right. I mean, hell we get a bit part from a very young Thomas Jane in this film. And yeah, you could view this as the entire plot of the Thomas, Jane, John Travolta, punisher film. I didn't even think about that. Okay. But yeah, I mean you kill the kid. And so they go on a vengeance spree to stop the criminals. Oh, I mean. Yeah. I'm aware of cliche again. This is a story cliche after hoary cliche. Wade nNcholas cage is even playing it. I'm like, yeah. I've seen so many death wish movies where the bad guys like kneeling before the gun. And then they got something the knife in the back pocket. I believe that John was special. And I believe that he was talented in a way that he did something original. I'm not seeing anything in this opening twenty minutes to make me believe that I'm not watching something Seagal would do or just any run of the mill action thing from that era. It doesn't feel like this would have been more of a classic than under siege. Two yet. Well, with the exception of under siege. I defy you to show me us, a golf film that looks this good. I really think that the budget is on the screen here. It's not all in cages gold guns and from. The cinematography and the use of color to the big action. Here Seagal could never afford in a movie to open with his airplane. Chase. That would be the climax of his film where they blow all their money. This is the start of this big action spectacle. All right..

"Jane did a great job to me longer and has a different. It's not even the punisher. It's like the punisher. There's a big oak caveat. So when you watch it you're not going on Elektra punisher movie, you're like watch dolph Lundgren punisher. It's fun with the caveat. Yeah. So then after that we had the two thousand four film, the punisher starring Thomas, Jane as Frank castle, John Travolta as Howard sane who has money launder who ordered the death of castles entire family. It has a glowing twenty nine percent on rotten tomatoes. But Roger Ebert. He gave the film to star saying the punisher is so grim and cheerless. You wonder if if it's hero gets any satisfaction from his accomplishments. Now, this movie is fantastic. I really people crap on this movie. I own it on the big fan. Think Thomas Jane, really figured out who the punisher was. I liked Tom. Jane is an actor it stars at Rebecca romaine as a supporting role who's great in this and people just think of hers mystique. No, no, she's great and punisher and Ben foster is one of my favorite actors in the game. Ben foster in the last ten years getting all this critical appeal, but Ben foster is in the punisher, and he plays this crazy like touted and pierced method and he's like. Jesse pink pin? It's fantastic for real and movies. Got a great supporting cast you identify with the supporting cast in a way that you don't expect. Because when you re watch the punisher you need to have the humanity to make the character work. That's what longer didn't have because his humanity. Was that crazy rhyming guy? Whereas you've got Rebecca remain. You've got been foster you believe in what he's fighting for. And that's what makes the character. Go from men to good is there has to be an island. There has to be a perspective. You can see. So I really liked the Tom Jane one because it gave us that for the first time I've been nice, and then we had the two thousand eight the punisher war zone. Everyone else. Pretty much says is the good. Yes. A lot of people love it. Starring Ray Stevenson as punisher extracted by my friend. Lexi Alexander, who is awesome. And I feel like she. I don't know. She's a good follow on Twitter follow her. She speaks up quite a bit and really puts people in their place. And I think that she was a perfect person to do a punisher film. Also, she's she's also directed a lot of other comic book TV shows, some of the ones that I think are in the CW. So yeah. But she also does hand to hand combat which you can see her tweeting about constantly. She's amazing. This film is a reboot..
