"Green couldn't couldn't agree more. We're talking jack. Levin bradley beal dame lillard twenty eight points a game probably by the time he's in the second or third year in the league And and i. I love all that about him. I think he's a transcend talent. The question for me is y levin and bradley beal is that talent going to be good enough to make houston a winning franchise and the answer is probably no. It's gonna take traffic. It's gonna take free agent. So and evan mobile have to tell you i love everything about him except what you say i worry about is lower body strength. He's been pushed around in college. You can push around in summer league. And i do wonder about this. Motor not a motor. Because he's an amazing kid. But i do think that the eventually the aggressiveness has really like take over and at some point is it going to be. When he's twenty three or twenty four that he decides i have to dominate games. I'm i'm the jury's out on that the talent is unquestionable but i think the intensity level with which he plays i think is probably going to be a function of physical maturity one scout from a team. That was kinda down on mobely. Say this about. He told me that he watched him play. Back in january against utah and played thirty two minutes in that game and didn't attempt to shot and this guy's like i've never seen a great player. Go thirty two minutes and not attempt to shot. He also pointed out the game against kansas in the tournament where they won big. Did but yeah. He's guarded by what six five marcus garrett in that game and he only ten points in that these guys i talked to or at least this one scout. Who's a pretty smart guy. This was a red flag. These were red flags with him on evan mobile. Do you see them as as potential red flags. I think i'd say potential red flag. I don't disagree with any of that. I also think that he played on a team this year where they forgot the other guys on the team forgot. They were playing with a top three. Pick like they didn't really play through him a lot. You can blame him for some of that In that lack of aggressiveness. That we're talking about and i think actually can blame the team and you know i love andy enfield. And he's got he's got a kid. That was a top three pick. So obviously something right. But i don't disagree with any of that. I think the biggest question would. Evan is is the physical maturity going to kick in at some point when he's twenty one twenty two twenty three and will that then spur him to like say. Hey i can dominate. Nba games. and. I think that's going to happen but i think it's definitely wouldn't call it a red flag. I would say a question mark right now. I think he's on the right team friend though because the cavs last year when they were healthy which was for like about a minute and a half like when they were healthy they had kevin love they had larry nance and they like to play through their bigs on the elbow. And that seems to be exactly where. Evan mobely is most comfortable and i saw flashes of it some of these summer league games where he's collecting the ball at the elbow and he's either making a mid range jump shot or finding guys on backdoor cuts..

"I just want to say the first thirty two minutes of this movie are just unassailable. I enjoy every second of it. It's really tough to say this part wasn't as re watchable is that part Until basically all the way through when they get in the car with the guy hits jonah hill. And we start going to the party in the movie kind of shifts. What's it hit night. Everything that happens in the day i feel like is watchable. But we'll just go through a couple the The opening seat is really smart and good and well crafted in there on the phone. I love would. Mike just walks out there still on the phone. He's five feet away finishing the call and then just gets in the car classic. Incidentally this is my favorite era of mobile phone was when it was like you use it a lot but you only used it to call people like right before texting. But you would just like. I'm just going to call sean as i'm walking down the street. I know i liked it. The badge tastic voyage is debuted here. Yeah this is great because we have the number one badge. Tastic voyage subscriber. You were the patient zero cr voyage. What was platinum club. Member litter and Can we just talk about. How fucking funny. It is that he's planning like what. Porn site scribe once. He gets to college like he needs that like physical distance from his parents to do it. But it's it's unbelievable. There are other sites that come with peeing on people. That's.

Rodgers Works out With Packers, Then Details His Concerns

"It was festivus in Green Bay on Wednesday and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent much of his thirty two minute news conference airing his grievances he explained why he stayed away from OTA's and mandatory minicamp one of those reasons was his desire to serve as a recruiter and evaluator of free agents I think we can all understand you know Green Bay isn't to you know huge vacation destination people coming here to play with me with our team and and knowing that they can win a championship here the fact that I haven't been using those discussions when I want to change moves forward Rogers also said the team didn't have any plans for him beyond the upcoming season he was also displeased by the way the team has allowed several star players to leave the Packers some without any contract offer I'm Dave Ferrie

"If it's a problem for any of your friends please forward it to them. Episode seven changes lives. And i am all about that life changing magic and i'm going to give you one little bonus tip about time management. Remember that bar. I said i went to yesterday. That crowded bar I was late. Because i did not switch the google maps thing from a car to walking directions. I had intended to walk to the bar. And i looked it up on google maps and it was like. Oh it's going to be eleven minute walk and i was like great and then right before i left the house. I looked at the google maps again. Just to make sure anywhere. I was going and i realized that i had been on the car. Icon instead of the walking icon and it was actually going to be a thirty. Two minute walk So sometimes even though. I am a globally renowned bestselling anti guru with fantastic practical advice and easy strategies for you. I am also a big big dummy who forgets to change the little google maps icon. So pro tip. Make sure you're on the car icon. If you intend to drive and you're on the walking icon..

"Air coming to that wreck. Playing that funky disco. Wendy was was that really. The first print song that you ever heard was the very first print song i ever heard. I was underage at nightclub in l. A. called the starwood which is infamous in. Its own right. It had a rock and roll room and then it had a discussion room. And this is nineteen summer of seventy eight and i was underage was probably between the was thirteen or fourteen and my sister and i went to. This club. snuck out of the house. Sh- sorry dad. Sorry mom and i was on the disco floor baby and the dj put that record on. And i was completely mess and mind you. I will always a funky kid. I loved everything that was funky. I loved everything that was soulful. My favorite records. Were all the deepest darkest of all the funk records in the seventies. And then. I wanted to be john mclaughlin from havana. Sh- new so. I was a complicated. Listen wait what were the what. What were you like listening to like mandrell or something. Sure i listened to manual. Yes of course it did. I also listened to most thirteen thirteen-year-old deep. I was deep. You can't i mean my friend. Q tip and i send records back to each other to see whether or not we can stump each other with that era and we he can't stump me. He can't stop me he just can't good yeah so So by that time. I was on the dance floor and i was. I heard that record. I ran up to the dj. Knows like oh my god. Who is that girl. I thought it was a girl i did and he said no. It's not a girl. It's young kid named prince and that be started my love affair. I was completely obsessed with him. And then when i found out lisa had gotten that gig on the dirty mind record and she really didn't know who he was an. I got wind of it back eastward. I was going to school. And i was like. Does she have any idea who she just got a gig with. And then i came back to l. a. one summer and went to the coleman's house and lisa was back from minnesota just from her audition and put on the cassette of dirty mind. And i heard. Lisa's say i'm just a virgin. And i'm on my way to be wed and i lost my mind. I couldn't believe i couldn't believe it. I couldn't talk to. Because i i didn't know prints i i didn't know his music was really. You know kind of a snob. I think when i think about it i was heavy into classical and was really focused on that and then all of a sudden ended up in prince's bannon's it seemed like a real. It was cognitive dissonance. You know what but she was. It was it was perfect prince happened. Yeah tell and prince happened. That's exactly right and then that happened. Yeah and he. He adored her. Because you know he could kinda do everybody. And everybody's position and ban. He could outdo you. You know what i mean. He couldn't do. Lisa tried for years and years to do to be lisa to do to channel her when he'd play piano and he could never do it. And so he kind of away think coveted the fact that She was so singular and Such a singular voice musically and. I think it's probably one of the more important musical relationship he's ever had because of that. I mean when i think of dirty mind. Which is maybe my favorite prints record. Certainly one of my favorite records of all time. Same here like yeah. I mean you know when you when you talk about like prince just a couple years earlier you think like this is a person capable of immense greatness and then you listen to dirty mind and you're like oh wow this says not light up the entire is not and it's it's. It's only thirty two minutes long. And it's it's so groundbreaking. Every time i talk to people about prince and they're like wanna know what. Do a deep dive. I say you. You have to listen to dirty mind. I mean that's where he was the most sweaty dirty uncomfortable yet convicted and dark and yet sexy and playful and manipulative and smart and what he was doing with sounds by trying to take that new wave era and put it into a funk environment to try and outdo like the rick james of the world's and the zaps of the world and all that kind of he was it was everything it was and then he looked like this weird like transgender check. He looked like a guinea like he could have been in. You know Paris is burning. I mean just what the only other person that had done anything. That was david bowie. But he didn't. David wasn't even that person off off the microphone. He became like a really kind straight guy. Prince was that guy off. The sound of dirty mind is is what i think of the most in a lot of that sound is keyboards. So where did all those sounds come from when you first started with prince and you're like walking in cold Into this weird situation like where did all that stuff come from. He was really specific with that stuff. He would most often already have a sound picked out and he would just point me to it and say here play this play the sound and and he was not afraid of presets back then and you know they were still new. You know you'd get an arp omni or something and had you know three buttons that you could choose you know censored since string or just string like wow. This is the magic combination right. This prince was just turn everything up just like his philosophy was pin. It pin the meters to spin it. Just anything in life you know.

"Mean like. There's no there's there's a certain almost like Not fakeness but like like old fashioned sense to the show that i kind of enjoy. You know like i kind of do like it's like. Oh yeah you guys shot this At silver copper at at sunset. Gower wherever you shot this. And that has more of like i think an impact on me than whether or not someone cursing on that set because as we've seen with a we haven't gotten let's talk about this but kevin fuck himself in a bunch of shows that have sort of subverted quote unquote. The it's live. It's in front of a live studio audience on a say we're doing weird stuff you know and i think some of those shows are more successful than others. I think great to talk about. Kevin could fuck himself at some point. But it's it's it's wild to watch those shows and get that little bit of a jolt of like. Oh yeah this isn't this is not on and it's not just because of the commercials. No i think you're right. It's not just the language it is. It is a rhythm to in just a vibe and one of the things that that tv traders can work with or that. They can find working against them. Is the expectation game. This is being presented to me in this format. That i'm familiar with her with these stars that i'm used to or on this network where i get my other helpings of x. And then it doesn't feel like that. And i wonder if that contributed a little bit to my like at like we're saying i love fain carla shows and i loved watching many episodes of unbreakable kimmy schmidt but i also didn't give it my same level the same level of as i did thirty rock and partly for me that was because the episodes you know they could put all the jokes they wanted and more jokes is great but when it tina fey and robert carlyle comedy is twenty six minutes twenty nine minutes thirty two minutes. It's a very different experience. Went into this. Like almost impossibly dangerously tight twenty one minutes and i had a similar reaction to a series that we won't comment on. Finish it yet but like mike. Rutherford falls also kind of fell into that zone. Where maybe it's on me as much as it is on them. Where i was like i am ready. Bring me the next parks and recreation type of energy. I understand how it's going to be delivered to me but it was. It was doing something more interesting than not necessarily more interesting doing something different than that was doing. Its own thing and exploring. Its own path in the type of story at wanted to tell in the ten episodes that it had because it was made for a streamer and so at. What point does my expectation trip me up versus the execution and i knew we had a couple more things to get to but that is that's an interesting. Let's put a pin in that for when we talk about the apple tv plus show physical which we're going to do momentarily. Let's take a quick break. We can do that next. This.

"Every there's so many influence influencers. There's so many youtube people do and co park content. That co part now has a content team. That's amazing. i think it's amazing. I mean it's shows just a team that deals with for you. Youtube youtubers internal. That's a good point is a good question. I think they deal with the youtubers and they also provide content to them. That's awesome really smart business decision to do that hilarious. Yes well. If you can't come on wednesday i hope you can. Yeah then you should come hang out here. Yeah for whatever other show. We're doing this week. We show this week. Yeah friday friday that can be a problem patterson yup. They've patterson the house while you're gone. Dave patterson and this mother fucker i swear this mov you got the you got the end of that word perfectly right. You just drop never in our or hasn't been an issue in that accent. There's only one time there's a hard are used and it's back in the day off for me. I'm talking to me to watch. Is the brand of me. Comedian like chris nickerson. And he's like you've never heard a boy. Thanks for stopping by loosely. I'm so glad to be out here. You got to let me know where driving tomorrow morning. It's all about the drive. Yeah of course. it's all about the drive dot com. Yes dr dot com new livestream coming up. Get ready for that. Don't do that real quick. Do you know so. I did my first one I asked zak zaky me a lot of really good advice. I was like who am i going to get to do. The first one. It's going to be j. f. Because i know something's to go wrong and i know the j. f. will be able to roll with it or or handle it gonna technical sense so we figured ten years since dr started. We talk about the ten year thing. We had a very nice discussion. And my i was. I was shooting it with a hero. Nine and it overheated. And there i am i just and went away and j. f. to over twenty seven minutes it it was. It was like thirty two minutes. That's how long might have been less than it was probably was probably twenty seven because it was also really hot that day but the only yeah. What the hell. I've never had one last longer than that. So i left. I came back j. f. ran with the show it was very. It's actually very good very wayne's world. And i think i'm going to lean into the wayne's world aspect of live screaming i think someone needs to invent like a cooling blanket for the hero nine or something because yaseen landcruiser review that went up today. The camera overheated on. Oh no shit. I think not that you need to watch. I mean you like these people you ve issue the microphone. Phone goes to right. Yeah i mean. I will watch it as well but Yeah yeah so. That's the thing. So so livestream coming up i'll be using either. That camera will keep it short or or we'll get some more cameras can frustrating. Yeah it is. It is but Livestreaming is i mean. It's it's like it's like a little bit like what we used to do on maxim radio which i really like doing that and then after dr. I just sort of miss hanging on talknet. Everybody like like we used to do. And so this is a good opportunity to do that. And you know we'll see what happens with the channel for sir. Far shark all rights kids. Thanks very much. If you're with us live we back on friday. And maybe before then but maybe not. I don't know. I have to make a run to the desert to get the lambeau from donnie which we may have to do it in the middle of the night because can be super hot. It's gonna be a fucking heat wave. Come here. I don't want to go to the desert. Don't wanna go out to the desert and fix myself traffic jam. If it's ninety one here what is it in the one hundred ten. Add yeah bad. Yeah but it'll become come a little bit by the beach by spirit. All right folks have a great day. Everybody enjoy yourselves drive safe. We'll see you soon bye..

"I'll i'll i'll stand by that. But i think a lot of the old. Let's not criticize doc or let's not criticize carlisle it because of the championships that they want if rivers fails with this team after blowing the league that they did all. I'll be honest with you. I watched that game when it got to be in the twenties i turned over and started watching guys grocery games i did and i would just check back every blue moon just to see what the game was lying. There was like eighteen. Twenty twenty two nineteen and i said well trae young eight. No kevin durant so no need for me to really be totally engaged in this game. Well started watching a little bit more guys. Grocery games turned it back. I believe it was seven. Eight minutes in the fourth quarter was thirteen points. I was like us yet. I mean i was really enjoying. I was really enjoying the show on the food network. Channel like Just in case just in case because doc rivers this is joel embiid. We saw what happened game for so. Let's just stick around and see what happens and sure enough. Go no man. When you're with joel. Embiid i think we're looking at a guy here where you know. We want him. I want him to be forty. Five minutes of fury domination. I don't think that he can give you the type of performance healthy non healthy whatever man i think joel's take dwells game of domination bill for like twenty eight thirty two minutes and then after that you know. I don't know how you adjudicate the minutes. I don't know where it comes from but somehow someway joel embiid. I don't know man. I mean it's like how. How can we get this guy to be like you know at the six minute. Mark of the fourth quarter. I just need you to be tear. Shit up man. I just need to be destroying things. "All. Nba teams got released yesterday. Some big surprises on their nick. What caught your eye. Well wilde's i'm a little offended. You said some big surprises since. This was almost exactly player player team for team what i told america. They should be a few weeks ago. This was my first team. Except they made luca guard i think is more of a forward slide. Cpi three on first team but four hundred five now showed the second team. I had gone the second team and three on the i team. But otherwise that's fine. With one exception zion. More on him in a moment in the julius randle spot but all of that is obviously exactly right otherwise and then third team. This is where it gets to me. The only thing they got wrong is they didn't put zion on at all instead. They put paul george on. I would've had zaylon set. I had them second team with rain. Third team go bare obvious. Jimmy butler to me was obvious and the guard spots. We talked about how impossible those were. tatum guard. We're going to get russell spot. I landed on fire ian beale so my ballot and the actual what the league ended up voting on had fourteen of the fifteen same twelve of the fifteen the exact same as far as first second third team so i think the voters did a wonderful job. I assume they didn't by watching this show. And just being like knicks. Really smart. Use another ballot. Let me just copy is mostly twelve done guides. You feel free to do this on any of the awards. But the the only i was like god snub was zion. Yeah go ahead okay. Let me let me ask you a question. Obviously you're spot on For the most part Well the league is position lists right. We're point center point four. Shouldn't that reflect that here. The only problem with that is. I think that's correct except for it starts to historically kind of alter how you look at euros because the way you look at all. Nba teams like. Hey who were the six best boards of that era the best guards and you start making it words juster fifteen best guys. It changes things a bit. But i do think the league is trying to move towards that brandon a bit by making guys eligible different positions. The other noteworthy thing wild is thing. That's probably bad for this. Four donovan mitchell jason tatum but good for their teams is neither made in eighteen. So it costs them. Both about thirty million dollars sucks for mitchell. Tatum actually good for the jazz and celtic because it helps them. Cap wise knows where the other real no worthy things that those guys get wearily missed out kyri actually tatum spot. Kyri just ruining the celtics stomp on. Lucky kids gets danny ainge. Fired takes money just running roughshod for the nets. Don't tell dave is dave is. You're talking about lucky he's going to be. Let's get back durant store. Forty nine point performance. The bucks allowed seventy one. Second half point pretty big letdown for janas in walkie after leading by sixteen at half had a chance in the final ten seconds. Janas couldn't handle the past brutal second half now. They're headed back home down. Three two in the series. Here was the honest after the game. I wanted to take the challenge. Obviously everybody is going to have a garden but I love god game game six to be able to garden and I've coached do that. Nominates that was talking about guarding k. d. brandon what did last night's loss to the net. Say about jaanus and the bucks. Well first off. I find it to be a little disrespectful. Because you know and it takes away from k. d. k. d. had phenomenal second half k. D. ascended to mount rushmore. Potentially so i find a little disrespect for is and i don't care who was on their side. They weren't going to be able to stop k. D. last night tucker the last two games that a phenomenal job on him and he started off hot making katie. Turn the ball over. So i find it a little disrespectful. But here's the deal nick. Didn't we have this discussion last year in a bubble then we had this discussion about Yawn is going to coach saying. Hey let me play a little bit more remember. It was like thirty thirty two minutes. You're done no more. You're not playing over it. And we started to talk about the difference in players personalities like these american players. They'll go up to coach like james harden just yesterday and say i am playing and i'm a forty minutes snares whether you like it or not yawn. That's not how he's built. He respects authority. He respects his coaches so buddy's telling him this is the game plan. He's going to listen. We literally had this conversation last year in the bubble so doesn't tell me much yawn. This is going to do whatever but tells them to do. So that's i agree with that to a degree that also at this point honest is careers two time. Mvp grown man. He's also the reigning defensive player of the year. Going into this season. He's gotta take some ownership. I mean i understand the cultural differences international players american players. But he's been here a long time at this point but take all that aside and nothing to do with anything other than jaanus in my opinion his apprehension of shooting free throws the way he played at the very end of the game he had james harden on one leg one on one on and he shot a fadeaway baseline jump shot late in the game. I a minute and a half left. Because he didn't want to go to the rim and in that last possession barkley said it. And i think he's absolutely right. Janas was rushing because he was afraid of getting fouled and that is a massive problem he has a dunk here. Maybe end one buddy rushes it and he turns the ball over and so listen. Everyone loves jaanus. But he is the two-time mvp of this league and he unlike durant had a good supporting cast around him last night and he did not look like he belonged on the same page of the newspaper.

"The how the cat starts squealing at the land. Well they the family moves into their grandma's house right like she's already been living in the amityville house. No no no no. No no no no. The grandma is the aunt who slicer hands. Sister sent her. That lamp just moved into a house nearby. She sent her that lamp as housewarming gift. So the grandma of the main family that takes over the story they had nothing. They're not in the amityville house at all. They're at grandma's house but the haunted land has been sent to her house as a gift from that yard sale so now brought the evil. The evil escaped. Oh so that's not an house at all. It was just a lamp that was associated to the amityville dow so now is evil escaped. They start explaining. The length of the priest was like so. It's going to escape from the lamp into a house back into another house. When it leaves the house it will go into an inanimate. Object back to a child back to the house and then into the lamp again again. That was like all right. So i don't know where the starts or whether it's ends but know that i'm really fucking confused. Yeah no she sent to the land because they go to her house in her hands all fucked up she's like a signing off all the papers to get it sent over there. Yeah i remember and he was like oh lady. Jalen Green Is a Lock to Go in the Top Four

"We turn our attention to another consensus top five. Pick former or five star prospect. Jalen green he was actually ranked second in the class of two thousand twenty. Twenty two twenty four seven sports. He's a six foot six hundred seventy eight pound nineteen year old guard from california who skipped college to play for the g. league night price of five hundred thousand dollars. He averaged seventeen point. Nine point four point one rebounds and two point eight assists in thirty two minutes per game shop forty six point one percent from field on thirteen point six tips per game. He shot thirty six point. Five percent from three on five point seven tenths per game. He was the team's leading score in best three point shooter. I've seen him as high as third in some drafts. I haven't gone forth behind k. cunningham. Jalen son evan. What more can you tell us well. Yeah he's shot. Fifty five percent from two thirty six point. Thirty six percent from three point range and sixteen games at that g. league ignite level. He does have you know yes. What more can i tell you for. Most people listening there is the allure somewhat of the unknown here. I mean only the diehard diehard nba draft have been keeping consistent tabs on jalen green whereas if he had gone to college he would quite clearly be known commodity. He would most certainly play for bruce. Pearl at auburn. Had onto college. And that would. Certainly things would have gone different. I think for the tigers last season if that had been the case green himself by the way tweeted back in may he tweeted and then subsequently deleted. Because this isn't exactly the greatest endorsement for the daily. He said i know for a fact. If i would have gone to college it would have been a different talk about. Who's going number one. He might well be right. But that's the that's the that's the status of the g. league ignite program at this point and that's to be expected by the way. But hey listen you're not gonna go number one because you didn't go to college but he got paid five hundred thousand dollars and you're going to go second third or fourth and i think that's a trade off the quite clearly jalen is comfortable with

"As as far as getting around for the most part for us. It was it. Just you know it was just the rainman. The weather kind of screwed everything up. Forward to beautiful day are monday. So let me guess you get home. And it's clear skies eighty degree. Murphy's law all what we do in new york. I blame new york. You went walked around all crowded and dumble people you know right elbow to elbow walking around know it was fine but it was at restful relaxing. Good family time. That's really what matters in the end. Yeah it was it will memories. You know no rain. Yeah i mean we you know drive in drove a sushi restaurant that was like hour and a from where we were staying an hour and a half year traffic back. We went to the southampton. It was my fault so check this out real quick so you know. I go because i don't know the area. So i'm like best sushi blah blah blah. Okay pitches great like the pictures fixes always gets you. I'm pulling up three cars in the parking lot so my kids. They've messing with me now. They're like oh so whole time. We running late so we call and ask the people so the first thing that the young lady on the phone kept saying there's no problem we have plenty of room. Plenty of room like okay. Cool callback thirty. Four minutes late l. No problem we got plenty of room so we put up to it. It was like old diner looking place for the best though. Yeah but it was. It was right to furniture wooden right. So you kinda was like. It was empty inside so when you walked in. You didn't really know what was going on. But i saw the bar. The boy was right. The mixtures was looking to drink. I'm like okay. that's what it is so net. Go sit down and look at the menu. Check it out and then all of a sudden people start coming in so then i started feeling better. Nina got really crowded. And it wasn't. Because i think it was because we were so early because we ate probably like five forty four. Yeah that's that's super so you got in there just before the crowd and then you realize okay. This is the spot. Yeah but it was like an old diner. You know in the chairs and the boot that we don't waste of money on all the infrastructure food. Yeah that's right so you had. You had a rainy weekend but at least you had a good time. It's it never in southern california but right now kinda has it is pouring. I'm going to ask you about your lakers right now. What we saw then. Tony davis injured and lebron kind of checking out walking off the basically late night game to just you can see that. Look in his eye that we've seen before i'm gonna ask you for your take. I'm going to let lebron take it from here. I'll how no we gotta ask. I mean it's just that simple Did gots whatever they wanted to get to in this game. We've got to be better. Obviously if we want forcing game seven and so obviously a lot to learn from an game a lot to cover see you know what we gotta do. Better on a game six but I mean they pretty much kicked is nothing else really. I think he said it pretty clearly. One fifteen eighty five. The suns beat the lakers game five. There were down by thirty saving half at the half thirty. It was a sixteen run the first quarter that kind of set the tone right midnight termite into the second quarter. I watched it recipe game. And i kind of fell in love with what daimler was doing that night. But man i gotta get phoenix a lot of credit. We're we're gonna spend a lotta time talking about lebron but off the top. I just wanna say. Cpi three is such a difference maker devon booker had that mama mentality the game. I mean he had early on. It was ridiculous and once again the andre in his do right now. He is due for them. They're playing even with andre drummond. They just they took the fight. They took the life out of them early. The game was over early. Not what you expected to see from a laker team. That they're back was against the wall. You thought they were going to fight. Disappointing watching liquors. Proud of what you saw from the phoenix. You have over nine game for schreuder without ad you needed schreuder overnight over four from downtown to starters zero points. Cowpoke comes back from injury much. He only took one shot. Eighty four million and he turned today. Oh he'll get paid an open market but garon twenty four point seven assists. It played thirty two minutes but you could see the look in his eye. He had to look in his eye. Like you know. I need to go back to cleveland this to cleveland. But i need to get back to my house in malibu. Any look you i need to. I need to the furniture a man. He's already telling like rich leverage bali. Let's work on this roster. Roster will be revamped course we it depends on how we get out of this. Let's not start acting. Like i mean it's tough right we. We're in a three to hold. Can you win the series without anthony. Davis depends on what it depends on what lebron goes back to la. And do. i mean anything can happen. Got two games. He needs to play anything he needs to play them on mars. Of course whenever the game whatever. I don't know exactly what the game is for. He needs to play back against the wall of the mission game growing. Or not gonna be out there. He's got a couple of days. Rest you're going to have to own. Don't like the fact that he left court with five minutes ago bra takao because people are gonna turn it into something really probably not even including me like i would have to see him. Wait to the end with thirty seconds of some just to walk off just you know it. Just didn't the optics of it just didn't look right some. Sometimes you see those things you like. Damn i just don't want fresh straight out of say because then i look at them on top of being sore. He's frustrated in just you know. I like to see my big dude. Stay right there and let them know. Okay you gotta come. La and we're gonna be out three two unless you know. They take a piece of cpi three late night. Game older west mouth. You know just kind of like all right. Let's let's try to even the playing field here a little bit with you. Feel something because our guys banged up. But i mean i think that's a fair question. Can they win. This series without anthony davis thinking without anthony. Davis can the like. What more do you want lebron to do. I wanted to put the whole team leagues Ten from three point range. Twelve thirty five. The rest of. It's always wanted to be ten. He didn't attack the paint. Seven assists public have thirteen assists an ankle still. I'm not making excuses at all. But it didn't look like he was points in thirty two minutes and seven assists on a team that shot thirty four percent from the field. What did we say yesterday. That's pedestrian for lebron james. How can you.

"But we're go on the fan and cbs sports. That were built ford. Tough studio really really played is hot in here. It's hot in this control. Because i usually keep that one freezing. As far as i'm concerned that is a big old bear. That's why listen. I i always said that for al franken down. I'm good so yeah. Al cubes it as hot in here Sorry but at the temperatures highs it's constantly keep it as low as you can. Even if i'm wearing a sweatshirt just when i'm in there i don't want the hot air blowing in the middle of the night. No i mean it gets back pre covid when the door was closed there and al would have that heat up. I mean it was just move the no circulation. No not that boomers. Not liking some of the music choices fliegelman. We gotta keep him in a good mood too. It's a feel good friday. Fleets and he's trying to do summer things though. It's hot in here in the city. Yeah hot down to that one. A little bit will house was right in the wheel house. Yes but when you play the nelly song and i happen to like nelly. Don't like the song it's just like it it. It's not upbeat enough to really. I think that's upbeat. And i just feel like i wanted to have a much more upbeat than summer in the city. I don't know about that. yeah see. i think it's more a beach the song you just want a nelly fan. That's okay i didn't say was my i tunes. Summertime started the fresh ramos as long as well. Let me see a bitch it is. It is an era. I wasn't a fresh prince gab. Sorry i was outside playing okay. Well you were playing in the nfl. Actually that would have been the better life. I wasn't a fresh prince. Goes too busy playing in the super bowl so suck on that. Let's see i wanna see what. Nellie oh yeah. Take a ride with take a ride helena. Is it a clean song. Only thirty version must be the all right. I stand corrected so so stop. I stand corrected. You're a nelly fan you like me. Well the attorneys as a judge mental. It's unbelievable the rea. The reason why. I thought it was. He turned to me. What is this crap. I'm just saying gimme gimme that better. You don't like all right. This is this fair to say. You don't like the song hot in here. It's an okay song. I just did not doing thing for me on appeal. Good friday team swept a doubleheader yesterday when they weren't supposed to actually be feel good about it today. You want go back into new york groove later on you want the that's that's too much to cheesy cheesy. That is the song that like. Every producer would use for production p so. That was my problem. Then the mets went to because they've used so many victory songs and we've heard that on. Tv you know every time the giant score touchdowns sunday night football. They play that song and the mets have had great songs over their history. And the last few years they started going to that You a big olander. Bigger islander fan or met fan probably fan go so well if you answered islanders you might have gotten shift on the ice the playoff game. Also just because i've got two more games. They're closer to where i live in jersey and we just went to more games. There are so many more games to go to. My dad has season tickets for the mets. Right i go to more games. So there you fliegelman. I know this. He plots out every song prior to the show that he's going to play not every the first couple. Like i had six or seven locked up two hours of what he was going to play prior to the show because he's prepared see. I don't know that because then you also try to listen in you know during the show focused. Al has his playlist on spotify of a thousand songs can sort through our have that playing them on the internet as we go so i get a couple ready so i'm prepared all right so he's prepared. You wanna know the rest of the songs these prepared for the seven o'clock hour to make sure no i do. Not you don't wanna more influence there now. Well he already asked for one of them so he knows them. Okay all right. Well that is true. It saw a song that we're going to play coming up in. What are we talking about now. Twenty five minutes. Yeah the always. You're an avid listener of boomer. And geo you know what gets played at certain times on. Friday mornings data is true. That is absolutely right. A few good friday a summer friday a big announcement friday right and that's going to happen my math. These days is so much work. Because i have. I do math anymore in my head so i can't even sometimes i can't i said twenty five minutes thirty five minutes. I don't know what the hell's wrong with me. I look up seven. Forty five would be thirty now. It's thirty three minutes but i. I can't do math in my head anymore. Haircut didn't you well. Yeah that was yesterday. We talked about it already. I don't remember talking about it just like you can't do math. No did you talk to the. You did not talk to me about it. Yeah no it was. No i did not say anything about it. I was going to say something about it. But i didn't and i know you did talk to al and everybody else about it but you didn't talk to me about but it was. Yeah it was it was. I had a yesterday the haircut. Did you not notice yesterday. I was watching hockey highlights and probably us. That's probably what was going on. But yes thirty five minutes or thirty three minutes or thirty two minutes. I'll will be that Big announcement and then we'll we have a couple of things. One big zoo will get him on the way to the airport. And also we found that audio remember. We have in the dispute about who had who come back to work. I yes so chicken. Parm lou and bob dwyer went back in sifted through all of that to find out what we said that day so if people don't know what we're talking about quick explanation one day on the show back in march i said let's go around and everybody drafted employees. We're talking about the nfl draft draft an employee. Who you think is going to come back i. We all went around at a name now. I was the only person on the whole show that remembered that this even happen so i at least feel vindicated with that. Yeah so the have it. Any actually i can. It'll take me a minute but it's also a long file. I don't think so day we did have the conversation. You're right i. I remembered the conversation. I just didn't remember who i picked. I pick a sales guy. You did pick maggie. I and i think jerry recco picture he did. He did pick journal. Eddie picked margaret marion of. Hr al picked moose now. The problem though is now. Jerry said that if somebody comes back for one day it doesn't qualify that that person is not back because i thought i won when maggie came back but technically he should one internal came after listening back to what we had all agreed to. It sounded to me like someone has to be back for good in so i think no one has one. You know one's one. Yeah and i think it could be a tie between you and al moose and maggie once they come back but okay maybe and at that point. It's just a wash. i think if it's a tie nobody gets any know that the sales people are coming back consistently they may be coming back. What two to three days a week..

"That really helps support detox. So i i'm a huge fan of those I also love infrared sauna. Yes is that is actually That's actually my personal favorite. Because i like to be toasty warm. And i really liked the lymphatic benefit that i get from that yeah and also has a great portion that comes in when you have infections to core body temperature is always going to help if you have chronic infections going on in the body but things that are as simple as meditation yes reading like doing breath work and really learning to bring in that oxygen in control the way that cellular respiration is working inside of the body is going to have a big impact. So i love high ticket items. I'm a little boosy when it comes to my my wellness. Same time you know. I love simple. Things like meditation and breath work and even guided visualization. Yes you're anoling. Yeah yeah anything. That's like free for me to access that also gets me into a space of relaxation seeing on positive things shifting my mindset that that for me has had the greatest impact on my own personal detox journey above anything else and and it does work for children on the spectrum as well. Yeah our kids respond to that. I'll oftentimes tell parents to play a meditative track or a frequency track that specific to like self love like a five hundred twenty eight herz frequency track at night in the child's room and even that can activate person pathetic have a benefit overnight. I love that. I love and that's that stress. That's releasing of that stress. Our body has no idea whether stress is emotional physical or chemical it snows. We're under stress and we have to find those ways to release that is we're not gonna get toxins out of the body if are are toxic. Our detox pathways are plugged up right. That's correct. that's actually a terminology known as channel apathy which this is something. I've been talking about for years. That i presented on a lot of conferences is channel. Apathy is and what that essentially means is just. It's a pathological breakdown in our channels things like sodium calcium and potassium ion channels those things transport nutrition in and toxins out. This our qendra are methylation especially and yet all of our detox signaling so those toxins and those exposures they go in and they change those channels. they block receptor sites and they make them useable. And it's it's definitely our biggest hindrance because now we've an interference that we need to identify and remove. This is so good channel op at the. I'm gonna have to look up one of your your talks on that. Oh my gosh we are like. We're already at at our thirty minutes. I just crazy. How quickly time goes on. But there's so much more that can be discussed here. And i know that you develop the rogue method. I know some of the things that we discussed here. Today are part of that road method in identifying but tell our listeners. How can they learn more. How can they connect with you. Well really that's why i developed the road. Beth is this conversation. Because you and i just lose your thirty two minutes in. We barely scratched various davidge right inquiry..

"That jodi foster would fall in love with him after watching taxi driver and ach but he's out like he i think he lives with his parents or something like that but i don't think he will. I think he was legit. I mean he was very disturbed and they were said like hey. He's actually fine now like he's been doing now since the eighties you know he's been he's been in a mental institution so hopefully you know you may maybe try to kill somebody but at the same time you know. Got the help that he needed. You know if they let him out. I fucking hope so so one thing that i find interesting here. I don't know maybe you would agree. when she is out in the desert listening and that guy i think his name's willie he's out there like fishing or something like a kiddie pool. I get super twister vibes with up. You know what. I'm talking about like. Oh yes about that scene. And we're we're at that just brings out some twister vies with the bill paxton and i don't know why but It's something about it known it definitely. Does you have these. Like kooky characters is a big white van they are. They're all kind of like they're they're all chasing something from nature you know. It's kind of weird. You know you have a blind guy the guy with glasses. You have the weird. bearded hippy. Kind of guy you know. You've got all these different people But yeah there is something that's that did become such a such a trope though of just like. oh you know. I'm sure he's wearing like socks with sandals and he eats his sandwiches. You know from the inside out or something. Yeah whatever like. He doesn't weird shit but That that was kind of like philip. Seymour hoffman and twister. You know dusty. That's kind of that kind of character that just became like this kind of Like charlie from always car pitches. Now he's just as wild duck person But you know of course there's again like even if even as they get you know funding from hatton that their government owned telescopes their leasing. They think they're wasting time again. We we've kind of this is the only thing is that they pull the funding at like the twenty seven minute mark and then by the thirty two minute mark. We've hit the same problem again as i don't i don't need you know. It seemed almost a little repetitive. But it also. I like it because it also does show like not only when you get. The funding is at enough people. Still think you're wasting your time and and take this away from you like it's just it always seems like it's there's like an uphill battle and i do like that within the first thirty two minutes and movie. It's like her dad has died. She's getting funding taken away. She's got a now. They're talking about taking away. The satellites like i kind of cool because it just it. It builds the stack. More of of exactly what is at stake and and what people like you said earlier. I even people in this field thinking about what you're doing not just some guy works. You know fuck an amazon or something like actual people in your field thinking you're fucking wasting your life like cab. That would. I'd hate to work there. Imagine if you went to work every day and there's just be wasting his life doing this like faulk man like what the hell but this is You know her her listening. Going out to the desert. "It was awesome to see him. Do it as someone who really cares about The all star game and what it means. Just it's like he basically solidified himself as the best point guard in all star history in my eyes which is a really cool thing and this was probably going to be his last chance. I mean who is two. Am i to write off chris. Paul but the likelihood of him making another all-star game isn't particularly high so it was awesome for him to kind of go out as he did. You know. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's back next year at the same time. If you're him you definitely can't count on that right because he's had perfect health this season. That definitely helped his case this year. You can never count on that once. You're getting that deep in your thirties. So he certainly wanted to make sure that record was his now in my opinion so i do think he was going for it and it's just awesome that he knew that he was able to execute it and everything else. My favorite stat of the entire box score was also chris. Paul stout michael. He played off the bench for team. Lebron thirty one minutes and in those thirty one minutes he was a team. Best plus twenty six michael. That's ridiculous in an all star game and the baby. Yeah the advanced deaths. They love chris. Paul in this game on the flipside. James harden minus twenty three and thirty two minutes. Thirteen of his fourteen attempts. Were three pointers. He did make seven of them. Apparently wasn't doing a ton on the defensive during those minutes. Did you have a favorite box score note from this game. Now we're just getting super dorky. But i figured. I might as well might as well ask you. I have to And they are very very dorky. Can i guess. I share the fact that jason tatum was the only positive player on team. Durant with a plus seven. No i actually didn't even Scope that it's not surprising. It's not surprising. Yeah well Focusing too much on. Honoring larry bird. Here you need to live in the present here and realized jason tatum huge positive impact and just seventeen minutes of action. Now he's a legend living legend. Now my my first one is the jaylen brown had a thirty one point nine usage rate which was a game high. And you don't usually see that from first time all stars like as you said zion like you got your nerves. He was playing. I guess i mean it is. He's from atlanta so Even though there was no Fans in the crowd. He's kind of the hometown hero and he was hitting shots. Taken shots A lot of confidence. So that was that was fun to see for jalen. I all think it could be like the chris ball thing where jail is just worried that he might not get back you know..

"Ron baker on dose of leadership to show my friend richard. Good to be here. I've listened to a couple. Well let's <unk>. Earlier so big fan so we'll have to get launch and get to know each other a little more. Yeah no this is exciting <unk>. For me it's great. you know. Thank you for so many. Great years as a wichita state shockers fan you gave me such joy and highlights from watching you guys. You know a few years back so it. It's fun having you on the show. Yeah that's great. Some good memories back back in those days. Glad i could be apart of. Yeah so that's interesting you move. How long have you been back in. Wichita i guess i didn't really realize you were back here in town. How long have you been back here on calling his home again. So i played a season in moscow russia. Back when hit. I believe march cedant is kind of when things really shut down over there. We got back stateside around april first. And i just live with old. Audrey made a mine here in wichita since so not even quite a year. Okay interesting well. That's good so. And i think i knew that you'd you'd gone to play a over in moscow. I can't remember that. But i if from an outsider looking in that seems like that would be kinda lonely. I don't know what is that. What was that like going over. There just would seem like so such a culture shock. I think from yards definitely a culture shock. Not really knowing what it's like over there only thing we see as a kid from kansas is what we see on movies or tv shows right seems like russia's always the intimate right reality. Is you over there in his pretty similar to your city the only differences a lot of people over there don't speak english so there's times where it was tough to communicate up to fit in but there's a lot of things to entertain you over there regardless if you can't eight the yourself which was nice ano- as traveled a lot in the marine corps. And then as you're right the more you travel the more a lot of things as it seems right perceptions but even then it's nice to put things in your perspective right and not what someone feed us forest news and i always found it working to things a little differently. Yeah for sure. And i will also found too that it made me appreciate what we have where we came from right. I mean even when you do that in the states and both coming from kansas when my kids are grown up. And i remember too i wanted to. I'm and can't wait to get out of kansas. And then i lived ten years for the most part in the west coast in southern california loved it and then kind of came back after nine eleven. And we've been here. Ever since. And i remember saying this isn't so bad i mean i think everybody should go out and experience everything else but man. It is nice i think sometimes. Kansas gets a bad rap. You know what i mean. I mean yeah right some excitement as there's nothing to do yeah but in reality there's a ton to do because you have for example new york city. Everything's on top of one another. Don't really have freedom of movement the space to do what you want. And that's kinda wear what you were saying. You come back to kansas and you take for granted we're given year <hes>. Just in the state alone another thing. Is we really really start to appreciate our freedoms as far as our country allows us to do especially when you go over to those other countries across upon. Things are a lot different over there compared to here. Yeah i remember even just like little things of go into a for example even a grocery store and like here you walk into a super target or super walmart in la you have. Can you get say peanut butter. For example. they'll be ten different brands of peanut butter at the super target. A lot of times he go someplace somewhere else. There's there's one brand or maybe two in in the shelves or somewhat empty. I don't know it's just little things like that. You're right so it makes me appreciate what we do. Have your in the space especially the space in kansas like yards even in southern california's like man. Anyway want to talk about leadership with you right all right and i've always appreciated something about you from an outsider looking in not just barely knowing you knowing you a little bit one thing. I've always appreciated about. You is your level of composure. I talk about on this show. That one of the things of leadership had the foresees compose confident consistent and courageous composers always. I've always loved how you carry yourself on and off the basketball field. How intentional is that for you. I mean if you look back at your role models at your examples. Is that something that just was ingrained in you to something that you're intentional about it. You should level of composers has always stuck out to me yet. Composers a good word when it comes to leadership has when you're a leader seems like everyone's always looking at you no matter when or where <hes>. Though as a athlete as myself. Regardless of where. I go i always got you know realize. There's people watching me. There's people looking up to me whether it's kids or people my age so it's always important to treat people the correct way be genuine is always kind of on a pedestal. That you're always aware you're being watched.

threw her support behind the former vice president saying quote I believe in joke we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can therefore unify the people and I believe Joe can do that and with us right now was ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts Steve what a difference a week makes it did you anticipate Joe Biden picking up this mode the momentum this quickly no I have not I don't think anybody did I I think what we're what we're seeing though is a fascinating phenomena based on one word and that word is fear it's fear of Donald Trump and fear of Bernie Sanders Joe Biden has not been reborn as some useful charismatics move talking energetic candidates Joe Biden today is still the same Joe Biden that people have a lot of doubts about two weeks ago two months ago two years ago the difference is that Democrats have so desperate so frantic to find somebody who can beat Donald Trump that they decided that day either as a group and individually as voters and as candidates they'll camel Harris being an example of of having to rally around somebody and then choosing between Biden and Sanders the fear of Bernie Sanders is pulling the party too far to the left so there's a lot of energy around the Biden candidacy right now but in my view it's largely negative energy it's driven by fear it's driven by desperation there are not a lot of Democrats even this morning jumping up and down in Saint Joe Biden's gonna be a great candidate a great president but this negative energy is very powerful and that's what's driving this trend do you think it's now his to lose or is it too early to say that definitely has to lose end up and I think it's gonna be very difficult for Bernie Sanders to rebound here the one variable of course the one no wild card is by himself as I say he has not been report he's still the guy who can show astounding lapses of judgment he's still the guy who could make gaffes he's still the guy who can show his age very clearly he's still the guy who can appear fumbling and uncertain and in debates with Bernie Sanders and interviews it's still entirely possible for him to make damaging mistakes I think a lot of Democrats even if they rally around by they're holding their breath and hoping that Biden will get its act together and I've seen some signs a few signs of Byton improving on the stop I think he's shown a little bit more energy I think the campaign line about I'm the candidate of those who have been left behind it counted out is a defective and powerful line really echoes of a bill to written of nineteen ninety two the comeback kid although Biden's hardly a kid he's more the comeback teaser than the comeback kid and also this line of of of appealing to the concepts of dignity and civility and normalcy I think they provide a fairly stark contrast to the president who's in the oval office now but Biden is still Biden it was all of his flaws but at this point he's the Democrats best hope and it's gonna be very difficult for Sanders to capture Steve thanks for your thoughts again this morning ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts it's also worth noting that this morning one of the former Anxious Man

"Josh Robert Welcome to mental. Your hello thank you for having me so we're GONNA be talking about anxiety today. Quite an in depth I will. When did you first start experiencing anxiety yourself will so in a major way It really started me the morning after. I'VE BEEN TO A PARTY. So sounds quite unlikely. But prior to that I suppose it'd been nervous ish child but I'd never been I'd never had like maybe tiny panic attack so what you would associate with what I would now identifies a panic attack but really for me. It was kind of always completely final. Seemingly fine went to a party wake up the next morning and everything had kind of collapsed. The any idea what triggered that I didn't know I think it's a combination of genetic factors so I think if you poke around my family history. Logunov you'll see a lot of on diagnosed condemns with the Times but sort of mental health problems and then so I think it's probably sort of underlying and then yeah. I was sort of conference of lots of different things out of state in a job that I wasn't particularly joying maybe too long. I wasn't exercising. Tula losing a lot not really sleeping and so I think I was probably already slightly predisposed and then the policy push me. How did yet she actually fail on that morning? You describe it. Yeah I mean it was like waking up into if you seen a movie where they kind of an actor or character wakes up startled and it. It was basically like that. Wake up into a panic attack and like I said had sort of miniature panic attack previously this what must just complete next level in terms of the intensity of it say panic attacks on that different for different people but for me it's like an intensely physical experience stomach knotted breath. You know very short heart pumping going nuts is dilated skinny sweaty clammy hall but called less sort of thing And then accompanying physical. Tara is a very singular mental one. Which is the idea that at some point. Olis' physical stuff with my body is going to become too much and I'm GonNa have a heart attack will will pass out and lots of people very common people. Think of panic attacks when they're in the most being heart attacks and th- reality is thankfully whilst that terrifying No one started a panic attack yet so it was extremely intense and long so usually panic attack could last for thirty seconds minutes when I'd had these little tremors before this one was three or four hours. Oh my goodness yeah. It was really intense and it was sort of. Come maybe it would subside fractionally and then it would you know. Sort of new wave would come would sort of appear see. It was pretty grim. I went to I went obviously went to an e a bunch of times with three different times to the and Went to see two different. Nhs GP's this'll general prognosis and it's not their fault you know then. It just isn't at the moment setup to deal with problems like this but This sort of general prognosis that it was that it was a hangover. Gone wrong And you know the prescription was cup of tea and get a good night's sleep so think promos couldn't sleep so Five days after five days off the initial thing having badly slats and been in a constant state of panic I ended up going to To see a private GP just coughed up the cash and And he very quickly diagnosed me with a generalized anxiety disorder after that initial fairly long. Panic attack then manifest. Yes we moved. It went from being kind of immediate fear about dying to being an mall. Will generalize guess all pervasive fear of pretty much anything say the definition of a Generalized anxiety disorders will obviously worry about forget anything so things like getting fired or getting dumped to Get a whole bunch of really. Would they call sensory motor stuff so I worry about forgetting to breathe or not being able to swallow or being constantly live to the rhythm of blinking and things like that so you have those initial worries and then what you do? Is You worry about those worries. This is slightly difficult concept to grasp. But it's the idea that your normal people might worry about. Not Sleeping Normal. Invited comments people like me. Worry we'll spend our whole lives worrying about not sleeping. Does that make sense? It's like a second order. Almost derivative of the original worry and then the third thing is guilt. Say you find this with people who suffer from anxiety disorders and depressive conditions. And things like that where you look at your life. And what on earth do I have to worry about? And of course the reality is nothing but it's a disease or disease but it's a condition something that exists outside of me and therefore it's not really my fault takes a while to get. How did you deal with everyday life through this? I would say in the in the initial I sort of five days a very badly so I was badly sleeping. I didn't see anyone So I I was couldn't sick to work. Actually that's not true. I did go in occasionally but I would get their run into the Lou after a few minutes. Run into the losing sort of burst into tears. Kind of thing and then make excuses shuffle. It stayed really bad for me for about a year and so after a couple of weeks I started to develop. I don't K- ping mechanisms but ways of seeming fine externally whilst crumbling entirely and so. It's something I talk about quite a lot in the book. Is this idea that you really can be fine. Externally and be disintegrating internally and lots of friends of sets me having read the book. I feel terrible that we didn't know we couldn't spots or didn't realize it was as bad as it was. You know you said you had a problem but it was. It was as bad as it was. And the answer is not not an partly consciously. You're trying to cover covered up because you don't want to be have a problem. You know wants to be problem but also because actually It that's just the nature of it. Is You know. Come for me. At least it's very real duality to it And so yes in your question Obviously a bit of a mess for the first couple of weeks and then after that I think I started to get better. It are the disguising it or living with. When did you decide? You want to shad this sort of writing about intending people about it. I was always really chatty about it and I think that is slow maybe slightly old for particularly blokes to to be open about it in a way. I was lucky it was as bad as as walls because I had to. I didn't have an option. You know when you will spending an hour of every day at work in the lose crying You'll boss get slightly suspicious. You know either. You've got a bowel complaint or a cocaine addiction or something that means you against the latest much and so eventually I had to. I I started talking about it with people and once you've said it once again it's just my experience but once spoken about it once it gets each time you did it gets easier and easier and then. I the writing of the book came. I had been talking to a friend. Who's a journalist so I used to work in advertising and I was talking to a journalist at the same newspaper and he'd had a similar problem to me and he suggested. Oh you should you should write about. This wasn't something I'd really considered but I pitched it to see to the Times newspaper. He published the article and we just had this incredible reaction to it so too. I mean hundreds of messages from people around the world and on the back of that someone else to a book so called anxious man at what you cover on it. We talk about all sorts. So it's kind of rooted in my own experience. I hope that it's funny book. So they're all jake's which isn't necessarily the most obvious is doesn't obviously make a A sort of topic will vector for telling jokes but it is humorous. But it's kind of starting from my own experience. What's it like to live through the moment that I described earlier? Where you wake up to realize that your mind has collapsed. What's it like to experience? full-scale disintegration of the mental faculty And then Haji about getting better and I'm convinced that the things that stop you from having one of these things in the first place are the same things that help you to get better and so. I hope that the book is of course helpful for people who've had this problem was similar problems. But if you haven't their lessons in there hopefully Would be helpful. We also look at interesting thing you know would pick around things like social media. We look at the new cycle and how that affects mental health. Sleep BLUES. Stuff about what? How did he pass me in terms of getting better? So I would say the the kind of anchor in me getting better and there's a number of different stages but primarily for me. It's been a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy Which doesn't what form but for me. It's just been incredible. Changing my relationship with alcohol completely. Say become a complete bowl. Well not a complete at that Aussie things like exercise Say fairly standard stuff I will say maybe in the most when you have a problem. That's as longtime or rather when you have a problem that is immediate is mine was like yours at the start. What was the trigger? You spend a whole lot of time trying to figure out okay. What's the exact thing that caused this problem? And actually I would say one of the key components of my own recovery is accepting the there may not be a particular trigger that this might just be completely random and once you've realized that you can let go of the search for the specific combination of things that make giving you anxiety and start to get better.

Mythbusting Multitasking

"All right. I've been hitting the gym. I'm back in the gym it. It's time to get this lazy ass body doing something. That's really going to make a difference and I've started the gym now. It's been about two weeks now so I've gone every day except for two days now. One of the things I like to do is I used to be an avid runner. Now I'm not talking. Ultra Marathon Lake Gauguin's or anything like that. I used to run. I'd run on average five to seven K every few you days or whatnot. It's kind of interesting because I got back on the good old treadmill there and I started out started out running. And I did a whopping eight minutes st eight minutes. Can you believe it aide whole minutes. It's on the treadmill. Yeah kind of laughed at myself because that was a far far contrast from what I used to do. Now I've been running every day. I start out every single. Dale Walk for a couple of minutes. It's just to get the body all limbered up and everything will start running. I notice I went from eight minutes up to twelve minutes up to fourteen minutes and then I had this little barrier that I put in place for my mind I could do twelve minutes. I do fourteen minutes no problem. It was easy simple for me but every time I tried. There's that word you all know that. I can't stand that word every time I tried to do more more that block that barrier would come up and it would stop me for moving ahead. Well something pretty amazing happened this morning. I want to share it all with you because it's so relevant for all all of us. I'm not just celebrating my own accomplishment this morning here I want to paint the picture of what's possible for each and any one of us to be able to remember I am not that ultramarathons Kamera thon guy so here. I am rocking out this morning. I hit the fourteen minute mark and something different happens. Something changes morning. I could keep going so I did. And what's interesting is I set myself small little piece of small little things to focus on. Okay if I can do fifteen minutes. Can I get to seventeen. My logic in my mind was five. Do Seventeen. That's Fifteenth Fifteen street minutes of running. Plus my two minute warmup. Yeah that's pretty good. I hit seventeen and I was still get to go. I kept doing that until thirty two minutes. meaning that I I had my two minute warm up and I ran straight for thirty minutes now for all you marathon saute. This is no big deal for you. It's like whoopy-doo the guy ran thirty minutes. But for me this guy that's basically been outta shape. It was an accomplishment this morning. What I'm seeing? Here's it each and every one of us can do this. It takes commitment. It takes perseverance. And it takes jake setting up a different standard in our mind. Remember what my old standard used to be it used to be. You can get to fourteen minutes. I could get to sixty minutes and I'm done. I'm tapping I'm finished. It's all I got guess. What a whole lot more than my tank? I didn't do anything different. It's not like I had a bunch of extra arrest or anything. I just got off my ass this morning hopped on that treadmill and I fucking crushed crushed. It crushed it from me. What's great is you can do this? Take this it's a bit of a mindset thing do what I did is I set small little milestones. Okay if I can hit seventeen eighteen minutes can I hit twenty minutes. Can I hit twenty two. Can I hit twenty six. Can I hit twenty. Can I hit thirty. I set myself up small little milestones and I believe that I could do it so enough of my accomplishment though something. I'm really proud of but enough about that. Let's get into the myth of multitasking. What the Hell is this whole idea of multitasking? Well well the idea of multitasking is that we can do multiple things at a time. I'm here to tell you. That's a bunch of absolute bullshit. Now where I use this where he uses in particular Taylor in my business. Coaching is when I'm working with managers. We've all heard the old story of the open door policy. Yeah just come on in anytime no problem I can help you and and we'll I think it's great to be able to build that beautiful report with all your people that work with you that work for you when it's time to do some work when it's time to take on the tasks that require that focus. This is when we have to close that door because we can do one thing at a time really great. We were never meant to do multiple things at a time and for myself. I've really recognized the most I can do. Is One thing I can chew gum and walk. Hey if that's multitasking. Then I guess I'm rocking it out but what I'm here to say as we. We can do multiple things when I'm coaching right. When I'm working with clients I'm not sitting there scrolling through facebook feeds and this and that why because I don't have the capacity for that when I'm doing in my one thing and I'm doing it really great and I'm crushing it? I'm getting all the results and guess what I'm saving time. See the idea that we can do multiple things. It actually takes takes US longer right. Yeah I can multitask. Here's the thing though your brain has to shift thought processes rate sitting in planning out a budget versus going and you oh speaking to an employee that comes in and whatnot. You have to interrupt that one task. That budgeting mindset and you have to shift that mindset into something else now lots of practice you can do it fairly effortlessly heartlessly. But they're still a time loss where we make up that time and where we give ourselves out time back is when we focus on that one thing that we can do really great the idea for this podcast. It came this morning I was running on treadmills. I was cranking and I'm like oh I've got to capture this. I've got one of those minds if I don't write it down if I don't capture it right away poof. It's gone on. I didn't want to lose it this morning. So here I tried the whole myth of multitask. So here I am. I'm running away. I'm grabbing the phone and I have to capture this right. I have to capture the title for this podcast. What I'm going to speak about today so I'm trying to type I'm running? I'm half fallen off this treadmill. I'm sure if anyone was looking at me they'd have got a good chuckle out of it. See even on that. We can't multitask not task. We can do one thing really great really quickly really efficiently. Take some time for yourself to say. What is it that I have have to do? I can tell you the reason I bring. This up is because people where they struggle were they have. Some of their biggest challenges is when they're trying to manage multiple tasks all at once. So so. You can't do it what you can do that one thing really great. This is where I tie it into scheduling scheduling in that task. That you have to do that. You have to to get behind so that when the time comes to crush it when the time comes to absolutely give it your all and get the task done on time on budget with everything you need to all it takes to get it done on is to focus in on that one thing. Stop Telling Yourself that myth that we can do multiple things at once we can do one thing really great. Give yourself a gift because it it really is a gift it's GonNa Save you time. It's going to increase your productivity. You're going to get a hell of a lot more done when you focus in on that one thing the idea of multitasking asking you know what recycle that idea get it out. Transform that energy into something that's GonNa help you focus in on that one thing right as we all know about energy it can neither be created nor destroyed only transformed. And this is what we're looking to do with that. Stop worrying about trying. There's that word stop worrying about trying to multitask and instead focus in on that one thing that you're doing right now. The benefits re permit are amazing. You'll get so much more done you'll be so much. More are productive and intern. You'll be so much happier managers. It's okay to close that door if you're focusing on something that requires all your attention. Take it utilize utilize that utilize that moment utilize that time. You will be extremely happy that you did. You're gonNA get more done. Focus in on that one thing.
