"And Environmental Law that is obscured many. Americans became a point of heated debate between business and environmental groups in Denver. Yesterday the trump administration held the first of two hearings on proposed changes grace hood of Colorado public radio reports the fifty year old National Environmental Policy Act or Niba requires -quires a major evaluation. Every time new infrastructure like highways dams and oil pipelines. Get built reviews can average seven years to complete trump trump administration officials and industry advocates. Like Ed Mortimer with the US Chamber of Commerce say. The process needs to be streamlined. The investors can be lined up but those plans may be mothballed for years and sometimes decades due to the ever thickening layer of process that has amassed on project applicants who seek federal Permits under Niba depot. The trump administration would limit in depth environmental reviews to just two years analysis of Hume live or indirect effects would no longer be required tired. That would limit the government's ability to evaluate climate change impacts of projects and it concerns third-generation Nebraska rancher and farmer emerged genie. Leaving our grandson with a liability the proposed changes would allow private companies to write the most complicated reviews themselves. Under federal supervision and public comment periods would be moved to earlier in the process process. That's where to go and the staff and the the buying experience is magnificent. Okay. On the phone with me shift. Nathan lipping is. So much more than just the digital marketing guy and part time demos chef for Blackstone products. We're talking about Blackstone because I recently required required. I did require it, and I finally acquired one thirty six in Buxton Griddle, and they what are we talked a little bit about Blackstone the company because if if my listeners, go to Blackstone products dot com, there's a whole bunch of stuff available. Absolutely. We we kind of pride ourselves on just really creating unique products creating usable products for customers. We've got it's getting larger and larger you chance to the website. A lot of stuff a lot of really cool stuff. Well, the pro series thirty six cabinetry underneath you know. Oh, well that or like I bought my brother the one you just mentioned that the range top combo with the deep fire. I have done that except it's brand new and I bought his about mine awhile back. The coming in different fittings different still front played stainless steel front plate. That's pretty cool. And then there's a whole stainless steel grill. Cooking station. You know, built to last a a wonderful thing. I think this Griddle and charcoal grill combo is kind of interesting. I like that you got unit vegetables going on one side the flames going on the other with some beef and land just keeps getting bigger. Yeah. We are engineers not mazing are designed team is unbelievable. Like there. There's hundreds and hundreds of ideas that you haven't even seen yet. We are always innovating always coming concept. And I'm I'm really proud to be a part of a company that worked so hard from top to bottom. We're we're a family where team and we work our best. That's not only make the best Griddle on the market. But in the most fun way the most innovative way and from customer service to our design team, we weren't family at Blackstone. Yeah. We do our best. And when I you can buy them locally at WalMart. You can order online. There's a bunch of different ways to get it. The heaviest part of a thirty six inch Blackstone Griddle. Of course is the best part the cooking surface. And it's really heavy, and I got it in the car all by myself got at home to work out. A challenge us my two Wheeler to get it around the back up on the cooking deck, and but I was amazed at how quick it went together. How easy instructions were and how quick it was next thing. You know, I'm up the Griddle and seasoning it and getting ready to cook. It really is well-constructed. Thank you very much. We pride ourselves on that. Yeah. It's a fantastic piece of equipment. I'm always shocked at the price point. It's it's one of those things it is a professional piece of equipment. I mentioned George Motz earlier. He's the author of hamburger America, America's leading hamburger historian, which is a job title. Apparently. I wish it would have known. George goes around the country. He cooks all over the place in the world, actually. And he and I were in Miami. And we did at thousand burgers, just the two of us. So it is a it is a professional piece of equipment, and you can crank out a ton of food or you can just have a relaxing night on the back porch. We're actually seeing a lot of pop up restaurant public burger shack and food trucks using these for catering as well. Okay. Great idea. Let's talk about the basic essentials here. So you you go and you go to WalMart today. Right here in Wichita, and you by thirty six plex, Griddle, you go home. Obviously you read instructions you get it put together. Correct talk about seasoning and techniques folks would use to make sure that the Griddle is as good in his ready to cook on and more importantly, less prone for anything to stick. You may you may have opened a can of worms guy. Like this. The seasoning process is kind of one of the it's like a folklore. You know, it's like this thing that people get all all opinionated about seasoning. It's pretty simple. I mean, you couldn't cast iron much. I have. But not lately, that's why bought a Griddle fantastic. Because of the seasoning, right? Actually funny story. My my grandmother gave a cast iron pants, and my mother who has been going to give it to me before. My dad dropped it broke it he just he went and got a new one. He's like what I got a new one. He's doing understand same seasoning. This. So the duty of our it's not we we don't have a cast iron top. We have a cold rolled steel top. But the seasoning processes exact same as cast iron paying. So you basically want very thin layers of oil. I like flaxseed for my initial seizing. But canola oil works, just fine. You burn it off to stop smoking, very thin layers you start to create this nonstick black coating that becomes this. This amazingly season cook top in the more you cook on it. The more you're Blackstone tastes like your food, which is one of my favorite parts about really dialing into flavors on my Blackstone. Yeah. I think if you do I did three cycles of really thin oil that I missed it on. And then rubbed in good and burn it off. Let it cool. Some did another one did that three times. But what I think I really need to do. Now, I've cooked steaks and shrimp and. I need to cook. Like two pounds of bacon. Spread out over the whole thing. Yeah. Once you get your initial sees layer bacon is great. I I would just not to use bacon. I just because of the salt and the nitrate create a brittle surface. But after you've done two three four layers with oil go for it bacon is a fantastic fat used for season. How about this? Actually, we have a video on her YouTube. We have a full length Tito from top to bottom. So if any of your listeners purchase one, you go to the Blackstone products YouTube page, and we have a full real time to to'real where people can watch and make sure all the steps properly, and it's not hard. It is not hard accessories. Having cooked on Griddle in my younger days. The first things that I wanted I headed Yvo grill. You know, what that is ego Elia? Yeah, man, and I loved it. You know, it didn't like the surface because it was almost two concave. So that the grease ran off. So you couldn't keep any. Moisture on it. Even like for vegetables and things, but a friend of mine is one of the founding partners of freddy's frozen custard and steak burgers. So he got me a professional scraper a night burger, press and. Yep. And then I bought some lids dome lives like for putting over vegetables. And to me, those are like the essential. And if you go to Blackstone products dot com, there's a list of all the accessories and things that come in handy, including something that I have used, but I I was told the shy away from it with the Yvo and that was putting too much liquid on a piping hot Griddle. What are your thoughts on liquids on the Griddle? Yes. So I mean, it depends on what you're doing. If you put cold liquid on a steel top. Sometimes the steel, you know, it will react to a lot of people post stuff about that. But having liquids on your food is is fantastic. Something. I actually like to chicken wings analogously Knicks. I'll take barbecue sauce and I'm like thirty percent. Dear some unstinting out. My barbecue sauce, it's more liquid. And then I'll I'll put that on my way. And as that liquid reduces it kind of creates a sticky wonderful, delicious sweet coating on the wings. But definitely the liquid helps that process, but yeah, there's nothing wrong with. But I do some pasta dishes on money's. Well, so I'll be like a white wine and garlic on pasta is really fast. Will when I'm out at no problem with that with adding liquid when I'm outside cooking. I always have some wine with me and like the veges on there and. Splash a little splash put the lid back on that beauty up. It's a great thing. I hate to. Julia child says right? A little wine for me a little wine. All right. I hate to take another break. But I need to pay some bills Nathan if you can stay with us. I wanna talk about some of the fun things that you've cooked. And during the break, I was walking out the door. Max my tech said so you invented the women. No, I did not. But I did invent a natural egg roasting ring at the Cuban market. I would buy big huge greenbelt peppers. Yeah. Slice them across the grain about half inch thick break. The in there, and I had a all-natural edible egg roasting rand. We'll be right back with Nathan Lippi. I encourage you, go look at Blackstone products dot com. Go to good life guy that comm links will take it to to Nathan's TV channel and more importantly, all the other stuff. He does Twitter.

"Now, though, Disneyland making some changes the head of the opening of its newest attraction Star Wars galaxies edge this concerns, these smoking areas or and also strollers what you can bring in that park. Robert Niles is the editor and founder of theme park insider. So let's start with the smoking areas. I feel like there weren't that many left to begin with. And now what they're all gone. Yeah, they basically were down to one and it was white next to where the entrance to galaxy. That was gonna be felt they ran out of room for smoking spaces. And if there's no space for smoking smoking in your team park anymore. All right. So a double wide stroller. I guess I can kind of imagine, you know, the reason for that. But what if you what if you have one kid and the kid is extra large, and you need a double wide, really? You're double wide is less than thirty one inches wide. You're still good to go. Disneyland. The thing that they did today was reduced their knacks from thirty six inches down thirty one and they're going to start wrenching double stroller. Disneyland now would say hadn't done the past. But these are going to be tandem strollers where the kids are one in front and behind each other as opposed to side by side. Okay. So it's still doable. Like people shouldn't be concerned about like. Oh, wow. Look at this stroller ban. And I'm going to have a lot of trouble. Now, it's still it's still very much doable. You just have to work within the more restrictive guidelines now. All right. So they're expecting a big crowd for the Star Wars thing. I know Mike Simpson's going to go about a hundred eighty two times in a row. We're not going to see him for a while. Or the crowds going to be so big. It's really just going to be about impossible to get in even with all these changes of trying to make room for people. Well, they are doing galaxy's edge on a reservation only basis for the first three and a half weeks. So and they haven't said yet. How are we going to get those reservations unless you are currently booked into Disneyland hotel room, and then you're good to go. And then after the twenty four th they're to use what's called a virtual queue to get into it. So there isn't gonna be some stand by you. It's kind of like negative fast fast system will you'll have to get a reservation get into the land. Once you get to the park for the day. So no stand by for that. So they're trying to control the capacity, and then all this other stuff that they're doing is trying to free up space within the park. So the rest of the park is over crowded as well. Okay. So the whole wait in line virtually, and then you know, when you're supposed to come back that kind of solves the problem of the crowd inside the attraction because some of this is is make you wait like the millennium falcon thing, right? You go in the cockpit and the rest of you kind of mill about, but you can't mill about in the ship with five hundred other people. They're still going to be a way to get into the attractions inside the land, but they're gonna use the virtual queue. So that the land itself doesn't get too crowded. So you may have to wait since you're a way to get into the land. And then you're weights for individual, attractions, restaurants, etc. Inside galaxy catch what happens to star tours over in Tomorrowland. I haven't heard anybody say or go a lot of people are wondering about that over at Hong Kong Disneyland, they built basically the same ride steam the iron man from the marvel cinematic universe. So a lot of people are wondering, hey, you've got Star Wars on the other side of the park. Why not change star tours to an iron dizzy has said nothing at this point as to what they're officially going to do

Brian thanks for taking my call question for, you if you're playing some thirty? Six cents boxes how how big are you, doing are you taking your host. Like four forty eight inches for thirty six inch that's pretty typical about a four foot hole for a. Three foot box street in thirty six. Inch box you're sitting at thirty six, inches deep you're not setting it, your? Your, holes no deeper and thirty six inches right well it depends on the. Soil type, of what we run into more digging you know. With soil here in the valley of, varies lot but if you're an old farm ground you got like a. Calcium layer with a lot of white lie kalija then you need, to dig, through that soil and then replace it you know so that the soil will drain if you're planning like an Iraqi or kind of more of. Native type soil that has. A lot of rocketed that's going to drain fast there's no reason to go deeper or if you're in a sandy loam where you can. See that it sandy loam all the way down so that really depends on the area and, the on the whole in a. General location it it can vary. Quite a. Bit what Needs to be done. Correctly Okay yeah I'm going to probably get a couple of thirty six cents a boxer. From here, in October November and I'm of course I start digging holes getting them ready Jay we'll dig him Whitfield's we do the digging if you like the, exercise I started off I was a water boy I than they sold stuff in the nursery than I was delivery and planning guy for. Quite a few years and so I, like I like someone the're cans and there while, I'm, digging a hole Jay there's a lot, of fun things to do and diggings good exercise Hey Brian thank you I'll tell you Jay, if you're gonna honestly if you're going to dig the, holes in advance if you dig the holes in advance, and dig, deeper and then back fill and partway and for a while you know sometimes we have to be careful when we're planting trees because the biggest. Way number one way to kill the trees to plant it too deep and so we're a little leery of the soil is kind, of soft to dig too deep because if the trees settle at all then we're going to have implanted to deep and. Then we're subject to having all kinds of problems and perhaps losing him, but if you're going to predict a hall and then back fill it that's absolutely wonderful because then you can, water it flooded and resettle re. Compact. The soil and then, you know. It's pretty well blended below that okay I'm going like ten October November I think it's going. To use, us more water also crack depends on what you wanna plant you know if you wanna plant a desert tree like a mysterious Ironwood your way better. Off the planet right now because you're gonna do some. Mulberries Mulberries Probably just as well to wait and do those knocked-over Yeah I'm hoping what I'll do is spend my Tober November throughout. That, uh Well Jay that's, exactly what they'll do for deciduous trees like ashes and Elms wall, berries and those kind of things if you plant them in the fall what happens a route all winter and you get twice the. Growth in the spring as versus a tree that was planning. This spring so it's the best time. Of year to plant deciduous trees that's exactly what I'm. "Welcome to. Texas home improvement Dan thanks for. Taking my call. Get, to, live of trees but from, a slab of that out Yes Are the trees older than the house or they planted after the house was, built they were after the house. Bill. Okay and, reason I'm asking that if a tree is older than the, house you don't wanna root barrier it because the soils will swell higher than when the house was. Built but if the if the trees were planted when the house was built or after like in your, case a root barrier does a marvelous job of maintaining the foundation because it keeps the moisture keeps a tree from taking the moisture out of the. Soil if you use the right type of root, barrier they make fabric type, root barriers, route inhibitor beat that will still draw moisture through. It I recommend using a plastic barrier so that moisture doesn't travel through. It and the root barriers, installer thirty six inches deep because most roots are in the top eighteen. Inches I don't want the route just hitting the barrier and going under. It That's the reason I go thirty six inches but yes it. Does a marvelous job for maintaining what is the last of that barrier Well as soon as I have one wear. Out I'll, let you know I've been I've been. Putting him in since nineteen eighty three And. Then out for instance traded slab or whatever y'all What, do you want to go When the tree is only, twelve twelve foot from the foundation I'm gonna usually try to, stay very close to the house but at least two foot away from the house just so, that if foundation repairs ever needed. You got space to do it usually I don't wanna get how big a diameter tree are these ones about about eighteen. Inches. HALE was probably about well okay I probably wouldn't want to get any closer than about six eight. Feet And is that viable Those retail No accurate Well the the fabric wants with the. Root beats you can the. Plastic ones I actually have manufactured for me But if somebody wants to buy them and. Do it themselves more than. Happy to sell them to you.

"Project like a two thousand square foot home let's see two thousand square foot single story and the crawlspace underneath there is let's say thirty six inches from from the ground to the bottom of the floor joists right if it's thirty six inches from the bottom of the joyce to the ground i have a really really happy crew that's really jacked about going to that one we don't see that very lots of room their minds sixteen and then some places it's twelve yeah we can you put a tape measure from the shapes would not fit under my house telling you that so what how much time would you plan to spend if you were doing an encapsulation in that crawlspace about how much time would you plan to spend underneath that house to get that whole job done obviously there's a lot of variables one of the one of the significant variables is the amount and source of water is i mean groundwater if groundwater is coming up everywhere through the whole home we have to put a pretty comprehensive waterproofing system in depending on the existing condition obviously if you go down there and they're six inches of water to start off with that is a really tough way to start a project as you can imagine we have the de water that space we have to get it at least workable at that point so between de watering that and then installing that waterproofing system in there at that point the next biggest variable obviously space if it's vertical clearances is where we can get into it next biggest issue is the number of posts and beams that we have to work around you'll find you'll find a single story two thousand square foot ranch home that just has one single wall running down the middle of it and that's pretty straightforward also find that same house that has one hundred posts and beams under it yeah that is not one that the guys like working on too much because every single post and beam has to be wrapped individually so that we don't create a dry issue with the wood and and make sure that's installed the right way that's how my house is best case scenario in one of those is is probably two to three days worst cases a little over a week well that's not that's still not such a bad no and then somebody would peer down into their crawlspace after you were done and say ooh look how pretty and clean it is down here that is the objective man that would be awesome we got to take another quick break when we come back more with ryan and terra firma foundation systems they'll go.

"In a kitchen and bathroom designer because they can tell you that the limitations you're going to have oh what a nightmare it is when somebody says oh i want a forty eight inch range and you have a really tiny kitchen and then someone gone out and they bought that and we could have done other things for them that they could have had cooking option there really are do you know that you can divide up your cooking space like for one thing you know you can you can make part of it electric part of gas and so on and so forth you don't necessarily have to have it all in one location and so that's one of the things that would be very limiting for you if that's the first thing you did is you put it in a forty eight inch range i mean my goodness there goes a lot of the real estate but you need to know also about refrigeration it doesn't just have to be a tall box no in my kitchen i do have a tall freezer one sorry frigerator one unit you open the door it's one unit of refrigeration it is thirty six inches wide full platters can go in it's great my freezer drawers traores yes you heard correctly are wonderful because what's in there well only a few frozen vegetables because my husband and i like to eat whatever's in season and we are just two people so therefore we just don't buy a lot of food ahead and freeze it damages a meet and so forth the other thing that's nice about this if you want a freezer then put it in the garage perhaps there's a space there these freezer georgia just great and we have an ice maker simple it's easy and i love it and so therefore think of your kitchen as far as things don't have to be just in squared off rectangle shaped appliances dishwasher jor drawers have come a long long way just wash your drawer it's great if you have a busy family look you can load it up with plates and glasses put it in it also stores plates glasses so for that constant grabbing plate and going there you go there right at your disposal and they're clean no stacked up dishes in the sink so start by thinking with the designer what your appliances are going to be this is liberating if you start with that is a conversation now that kitchen can get designed to round it the other thing is let's talk about bath big mistake the people make is i have to understand is your shower breeze oh will teach you this better than anyone brazil would say is your shower i candy is it something you want to just be a feature or is it a utility if it's utility that means you might go in and out you're going to want hand spray go in their bathroom design we talked about some personal things so you might want a little step in there their he can raise up a leg you know your leg to shave your legs at the hand shower.

"Your weekend take care good night ankles sandy and here comes valerie valerie i won't sing the song oh okay thank you i'm sure i'm sure you know no no valerie oh another son named valerie sharon who's turning around my door but she sure looks different now the way she looked before they call her van it goes on i don't think it's a song by the monkees google it i'm sure you hear it okay thank you you're welcome my question is by husband has a ls and we're going to remodel our kitchen and our bathroom and i was just trying to find out about some kitchen innovations where the cabinets the interior of the cabinets can come down so that he can reach them he can't raise his arms and i had heard about these new types of cabinets where the interior of the show come down yes there are you know who you need to speak with is someone who specializes in universal design which is design for people of all abilities usually if you you know if you talked to someone at the the cabinetry store there are kitchen and bathroom designers that's civically have certification in universal design and can help you because you're going to want the cabinets that pull down i know exactly what you're talking about you grab a handle and they pulled down so that he'll be able to reach it you also can get cabinetry that you can roll underneath as well in wanna make sure that they're you know know thresholds that are going to the problem with threshold right thresholds are tough in the getting the walkers over threshold rate the the doorways need to be opened up to thirty six inches is inches thirty inches of rain right and thirty inches is going to be really really tight so thirty six inches should provide enough clearance and then in the bathroom of course you're going to need a lot of handrails so we have those we just perfect perfect we were told that we should change the way out of the bathroom so that the toilet is the first thing because that's what you use the most and then the shower we're getting rid of the tub and then the showers should be at the end that makes absolute sense and then you can also get rid of the threshold in the shower and install a linear drain so the so you can roll right into the shower area and then the the water goes along the side of the shower in the back and the the floor gets sloped up little bit so that the water slides down into it it's called the linear drain linear drain okay and that universal design is that a site or no that's a special certification that some kitchen and bathroom designers have they i would maybe look on well if you did a google search for room for universal design in your area i think that would probably be your best bet okay all right well thank you very much it's definitely a specialty so there are lots of little little tricks that that can be an and specific fixtures that can be installed to make life a whole lot easier that would be good that would be helpful you look up that song valerie by the monkees okay no less monkeys they were awesome was it was a dvd song love davey davey gone tonight valerie tonight thank you all right you were monkeys fan i did i loved that show and what about the music which was often written by neil diamond so what's not often not often sometimes well being boyce and hart a number of people wrote saw my favorite monkey song was written by carole king which one take a giant step oh i i album though you've played it i'm not gonna sing i'll just recited so you've played it love and loss and sorrow has turned your heart.

"In the chat room when we first discussed this issue i think last week well okay so they banned small childlike dolls so now the sex doll companies are going to release a thirty six inch alien doll you know something like that they'll find a way around or or a detachable head where you have to buy the head that you want on the black market you can't have detachable heads because then that promotes decapitation well i mean the whole idea of in you're absolutely right of course david is that you know prohibition doesn't work it's only going to drive these things underground then you're gonna have black market doll sales and who knows what that's going to end up looking like and it's just very undesirable to prohibit things because then criminal enterprise takes over that that particular business it doesn't ever go away and ultimately what they're talking about here's criminalising thought i mean they're talking about making ideas illegal they're talking about what it is that's going on in that person's head because there's not an actual crime against victim if there's somebody who's having sex with a dull it's bizarre it's strange but there's no victim i appreciate you sharing that sharing your own passed because that sounds really horrifying and if you want to talk more about that you're certainly welcome to do so but if not i'll i'll understand dave one quick question what was your what quish christian denomination did you grow up in actually evangelical so these were supposed evangelical christians who raped you.

"Anything that's within i'd say eighteen inches to thirty six inches there's a real real good chance that it's gonna fall within the drop area of that goes down if you have low lying brush lewa e or ferns or any type of mondo grass anything like that there's a real chance that they're either gonna get trampled or by the workers walking around or just the tent doesn't bundle cleanly right at the ground is there might be excess because of how wide or or skinnier how big pilots exactly so the tent itself i mean sitting out in the sun is gonna get warm from the direct sunlight so you might see some damage any low plan around the outside of the house but but you know what the damage that you suffered there is away from fixing the problems you're getting rid of a really big exactly yeah so so it's it's we're we're getting into the greater good is another thing you know when i when i say pick your poison i mean your your house is either going to get ethan from termites or you're going to choose to eliminate the termites and deal with some of the headaches that comes with if you have bigger plants around the house trees anything like that like the fruit trees you're describing or we see money trees around a lot of houses that type of a taller one with branches it usually a good idea to trim the bridges that are close to the house because seems anyway yeah and then it's actually for for trees and bushes it's the leaves that the draw in carbon dioxide when the drawing listen there's a lot of a rica palms and everything else and here's something i learned in if you don't clean them criminal back anyway you're gonna feel who knows what kind of rubbish and the point is and this is a good thing about comedy anna is they're not going to bring the same tent to my house which is a one story you know a house and not that you know under three thousand square feet house and the seven storey buildings have the same ten and a lotta times you will always in their way that you can get it a different material different problem is and suggestive treatment plant correct.
