Swayman makes 36 saves NHL-leading Bruins beat Jets 3-0
"The bruins bounced back from their first back to back regulation losses of the season by blanking the jets three zero. Jeremy swayman handled 36 shots in his third shot out of the season and 8th of his career. The guys did such a good job boxing out. Let me see punch from the point. Made my job easy. So it was a good team win. We're excited about it. He got all the support he'd need when Trent Frederick scored just 50 seconds into the game. Pavel zacha also tallied in the first period at Dumas snow shek added an empty netter for the NHL's top team. The Jets have won four of their last 15 games after challenging for a division title. He used stole a puck and scored early before assisting on jesper bratz two goals. Then it turned back 32 shots for New Jersey, which pulled into a virtual tie with Carolina for the metropolitan division lead. Me playing well, the defenseman are really good forward to be scoring also, so that's important. And then the goal you have to make the sales and help them help them. FDA clears updated COVID-19 vaccines for kids under age 5
"Federal health regulators have approved the latest version of the COVID-19 vaccination for use in the very youngest of children. The Food and Drug Administration has okayed the updated version of the COVID shot for children under the age of 5, even as young as 6 months old. These omicron targeted booster shots are made by Moderna and Pfizer already cleared for older kids. Only 3% of tots under the age of two have gotten any doses so far. So first they have to get the older version and then their third shot can be this new formulation. The FDA's vaccine chief says vaccinations are the best defense, especially during this time. Pfizer asks FDA to clear updated COVID shot for kids under 5
"Pfizer is asking the FDA to clear its updated version of the COVID-19 vaccine for children under 5. Currently children between 6 months and up to 5 years who get Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine are supposed to receive three extra small doses in mid October, the FDA cleared updated vaccines from both Pfizer and Moderna as boosters for everyone 5 and older. Now Pfizer is asking U.S. regulators to authorize their updated by valent version for those younger kids. Targeting the original strain and BA four and BA 5 omicron variants, it would become the third shot in the series. The company says it may help keep youngsters out of children's hospitals that are already packed with patients suffering other respiratory illnesses, vaccine uptake is still an issue. The CDC reports that just 2% of kids under two and about 4% of two to four year olds have gotten their primary doses so far. Jennifer King, Washington

Kiffin plans to return; No. 20 Ole Miss falls to Bulldogs
"Mississippi state came from behind to win the 8 ball at 20th ranked Mississippi 24 22. All miss was leading 16 7 late in the first half when the bulldogs Will Rogers through the first of his two touchdown passes with 8 seconds left to cut the rebels lead to 1614. Roger's second TD past gave state a 24 16 lead midway through the fourth quarter. Is everything, you know, like you said, third shot, you know? Kind of got tired of losing these guys. Obviously they're really, really good football team. The bulldogs needed to stymie an old miss two point conversion tribe with just over a minute remaining to seal the win. The loss was the third straight for the rebels who coached lane kiffin as speculated to be heading to auburn. I'm Tom Mary.

Moderna Announces Positive Results for Omicron Vaccine
"Go, there's some good news. On vaccines, yay. Moderna has announced positive results and positive meaning good, not that you've got COVID. Results for the omicron, their new omicron specific vaccine, it was human trials on 814 adults. They received their first three doses of their original spike vax vaccine, and this is a bivalent in my pronouncing that right vaccine. Thank you. And it has the original has COVID classic plus omicron classic together, and apparently the levels are 75% higher in the group who got that vaccine versus just the spike vaccine, which also is helpful, so don't not get your third shot. So what are you happy about this potential new vaccine? Yeah, I think that's a serious innovation because we're all worried about the variants of the omicron variant and the sub variants of that. So the better potential we have from the vaccines to better off going to be in terms of protecting ourselves.

"Morning CBS News medical contributor doctor David agus with his takeaway from the latest data I think it's tremendously encouraging you know first of all because there are tens of millions of kids under the age of 21 so young kids who have gotten the Pfizer vaccine We know it is safe And again in tens of millions in this trial remarkably safe and it worked 80% blocking symptomatic illness no serious illness at all And so it really is a major step forward and needed This is the last population in the United States that remains ineligible for vaccine So a big step Explain to us how it got to adding a third shot Was it the two shots didn't provide enough immune response Yeah it wasn't planned And so they tried to go a very low dose so that they could be very little side effects And when that low a dose it did not create as robust immune response at two shots but once you got to three shots it was fantastic And so a little bit of inconvenience in the end with the lower doses less side effects and really going to be I think impressive and important for young kids Now many parents have been waiting for this news as this is the only group that has not had a vaccine available to them children of this age but for those parents who are still on the fence about this what do you want them to know about this news about the Pfizer shot as well as the Moderna shot which the FDA is also considering We as a country have fallen short especially in our young children And it's a shame We're only 30% of eligible kids have been vaccinated today And we have to step up Children who get this in general it's mild but there are some kids who get hospitalized And obviously we don't want that And there could be long COVID in these children and they could become vectors in transmit it to elderly to grandma grandpa et cetera And so we all have to step up and play our part There is no downside here And the upside is protection for our children and protection for everyone they interact with So I think we really have to step up as a country And it will be available in pediatricians offices so they're not going to have to go to pharmacies And again I think that's a big positive How long until you think this will actually come to be Well what are my prayers or what is reality I think most likely it'll be mid June both for Moderna and Pfizer Obviously Moderna there's a lot less data in young children than there is with Pfizer but both of them I think are going to be very good shots for.

It's soaking optimism. Among experts that the third dose of the vaccine may provide more protection than previously believed. The study looked at the vaccinated staff of sheba medical center and remote gun using serological tests in an effort to measure anti body levels before and after the booster shot as of today. Nearly three million israelis have already received the third dose of the covert vaccine there around a little more than nine million israelis in the country so a third are already vaccinated with a third shot. A new york times report on tuesday suggests iran is one month away from acquiring highly enriched uranium even enough uranium to create a nuclear weapon. Now why do we care. We care because iran time and again has threatened israel to bomb it off the face of the map using a nuclear weapon. That's why we're talking about this. According to data collected from the international atomic energy agency theron which is the capital of iran. Now has the capacity to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for one singular nuclear warhead however experts. Believe that it could take months. Maybe even years before. Iran has the capability to assemble. A nuclear warhead. So they have all the raw materials but they just need to put together the twenty fifteen iran nuclear deal limited iran's uranium stockpile so they tried to limit that a year after the us withdrew from the deal under president trump. Former president trump that is iran pushed production from a three point seven percent purity level to sixty percent. Theron has been following a strategy of violating the terms of the two thousand fifteen deal in an effort to put pressure on european powers sue provide economic incentives incentives that would offset the crippling damage of the american sanctions that came with. Us's exit from the deal. Now keep in mind that former prime minister. Benjamin netanyahu made a very big demonstration at the un general assembly showing a lot of evidence that israeli officials had picked up from iran that was proving that they had been working outside of the deal. But as he is a medical professional on the front line on the eighth the day that he was the eighth month anniversary he got called by the hospital to come in. All the doctors who had privileges at this hospital had to come into the hospital that day to get their shots. So he did. And as a result of that, I thought to myself, okay, because I've been back and forth and this is where the confusion comes in. Actually, when you're talking about the vaccine, what do we do? The government has screwed this up to a fair thee well. In terms of information, or whoever it is that you listen to it supposedly is an expert is one bit of information one day and the next and the next is something else. So what I was thinking and I said, this on the air, I'm going to have a third shot. As soon as I get one, and I figured out how to get one, and then Ken said, Well, maybe you should hold off a little bit because they're mixing a new batch that will deal with Delta and and Lambda and whatever else comes in line said Okay, all right, so decided not that To do it right away and wait until the end of the month. When supposedly this stuff is going to be available. Then he says to me the next day. Well, I'm going to get my shot. I said, would you just You told me The day before. Yesterday, not together. Third shot, he says. Well, now we're thinking that it makes sense to have it because the especially fighter doesn't have the starch that the Moderna If you've got to Moderna shots, you're probably better off in terms of protecting yourself than if you had two parents enterprisers shots. I'm not happy that I didn't We all have pretty much had to At the fighter here. But anyway, the point is this thing about Biden is not about the vaccine has nothing to do with no no, but I'm just I'm going on. It's about it's about God, I know, but it's about governmental control. And we all know that tides turn in politics. And I just want everybody out there. Who thinks that what happened? Yes. This week. Biden is a good thing. Task when someone else is in control, Roger Sanchez or Donald Trump or someone else that is positioned as evil. On the other side of the secrecy is amazing. Want them to be telling you what to put in your body? Do you want them to be doing the same thing? Because I think it really This is where consistency matters less government out of our IR immigrants required. Why aren't government Why aren't post office employees required federal Aren't they federal employees that they're They're exempt People coming into this country are not going to be automatically vaccinated migrants won't be and I'm going to tell you right now. If you care at all about racism and raise issues, you should be dead set against this because there are only 30%. Black Americans who are vaccinated. They are going to be kicked out of their jobs with the federal government. They're not going to be allowed into restaurants are not going to be able to send their kids to school. And you tell me how that looks. If that makes Saturday. This is the if the country of inclusivity If this thing doesn't get straightened out, the Democrats don't figure out a strain this out. They're going to get their heads handed to them next year in the election. Because this is this kind of stuff is what? What election? You know, radio flatter a lot of women. And you know men who are also pro choice but a lot of women who are pro choice. And as we know, you know, abortions been in the news because of Texas and Oklahoma and things like that. But you know, it's kind of like we're all sitting back over here going. Oh, so now the rest of the country is getting a little bit of a taste of what it's like to be a pro choice woman where the government is telling you what you must do and must not do with your own body. Yet there are a lot like the R a lot. I don't know if people are just too stupid to get that. But like the irony here, it's like, okay, how does anyone not see what's going on? And on my side of the aisle? I think the irony is just as big. I cannot imagine how people can shout my body my choice and then say, but job Biden gets to decide what vaccine goes in me. Uh, no. Both of those positions are definitely not They hurt themselves, but I think you also have to consider that. You know, it depends again where you think life is, If we make taking a life legal, and I mean that's that's really where the argument gets emotional for a lot of people. All right, So now it's part of it. What I just said about fighter in the they're developing a Booster shot. Apparently, Moderna is as well. So the acknowledgement here is that it? This is going to be to answer. I think the question that Jennifer had or Victoria had This is going to be a seasonal thing, just like the flu. And in fact, what can said is it's going to be the flu vaccine that you get every year. If you choose to get one will have this variant along with whatever else they expect to be the flu problem of the year. That will be, uh, partners shot commercial right now. Yeah, exactly which makes sense, and that's and that's wonderful. And that will help maybe next spring. You know, I'm not sure when that will be ready. Those things take time. But in the meantime Yeah, I've never been in favor of the vaccine mandate. I've never once said that. And I don't believe in that. But at the same time if people aren't getting the shots, how else are we really going to get a good question? And it's that's an excellent question. I think that there's no answer to it at the.

"Pfizer met with the cdc july twelfth about the need for boosters laid out their case laid out the israeli data. Cdc disagreed at the time said they had conflicting data. Israel ends up being right cd. Essentially agrees with pfizer's case this week. Can you talk about why. The initial data wasn't compelling back in july. And i sort of asked this question because in general sometimes it feels like if i wanna know what's gonna happen in the us. With regard to cova decisions. I need to like follow. The israeli news like do you sometimes. Do you wish we had more information. Faster here is about. Is it about just looking for more data in the. Us like do you feel like the cdc is getting information and data fast enough. Well hotel you. John is somebody who loves numbers and data. I always wanted yesterday. It's all he's too late for me but look you. You're pointing to his legitimate challenge that we have in the united states. It's been a problem for many many years. Which is we have fragmented data systems in our country. We have a public health infrastructure. That has been underfunded has eroded. Over the years we have so many different systems. Don't always talk to each other. And so with other countries which have more centralized and data Out systems which have invested more in public health. More broadly able to extract him pull in data from what's happening around the country much more efficiently than we are at something we have to fix that. We have to get better at by the country in. Its y my hope is coming out of this pandemic that we will recognize those longer term investments in infrastructure public health infrastructure or absolutely essential so. We can understand more quickly. What's going on with that. Being said in. Keeping many israelis actually started their vaccinations and ended up vaccine much larger portion of population earlier than we did right so from a timetable perspective There ahead of the united states in much of the world but we we saw the israeli data. We saw eight from other countries. But the cdc needed to do was to gather the data from here as well and look at everything in totality when you're always tightened. Scientists don't trust single source of data may be well done etc. You need to collaborate because you're just inevitably various factories. You can't control or data sets and so when they started to see a pattern emerging john and this pattern in particular became clear in over recent days when multiple data sets from the. Us came through data from healthcare workers data from long term care facility residents data from york state as well as what was called the ivy Cohort which is group. More than twenty is held simpson uniform states. All of that. Data's started to point to the same pattern is reduction in protection against mild to modern disease with a still high protection against the disease. That's when it became clear. There's a pattern here is trickier. We see where it's going and that's how we act. Dr mercy thank you so much for joining pod save america again come back anytime we We love having you. Thanks so much. John with you take care..

"Health officials announced that beginning the week of september twentieth. They're hoping to start offering cove in nineteen booster shots to any american over eighteen. Who's eight months past their second shot of pfizer burner here to talk about why the administration decided to do this and what it means for you. Us surgeon general. In front of the pod. Dr vivek murthy. Welcome back eight thanks john. It's good to be that. So i have a bad habit of cova. Doom scrolling where i follow a lot of epidemiologists and public health experts. And they were sort of all over the place on this booster announcement. Dr salim founder. Who's advised by administration on the pandemic said that she thinks the cdc's data supports giving boosters to highly immuno-compromised persons and nursing home residents but not to the general public. Can you talk about how you all decided that. It makes sense for a young healthy twenty year old. Who's eight months past their vaccination to get a booster shot. Absolutely channel is really good questions. So let's talk through this a little bit we will. We know about axes. In general john. Is that protection does tend to wane over time. And that's one of the reasons we are looking at the data really closely to see if they were more breakthrough infections. Time pass and will we saw in day in the rescinding pleading data be collected. Just in recent days was there does appear to be a trend to reduce protection over time outlets suck specific. What kind of protection. Because the breakthroughs that we were seeing were more in mild and moderate cases that was You know that's always concerned us. A good news is that you still had a high degree of protection against hospitalizations severe disease in depth. Which is the most important job at a vaccine to save your life. You've gotta hospital right. So that seemed to be still at a very high level as we look at the overall trend and as we thought about our own clinical experience inexperienced working on illnesses and epidemics are feeling was that declining trend would continue that would likely to erosion at protection against severe disease hospitalizations deck and we wanted to be ahead of the car. And you wait until that data shows up. You're actually too late because by the time you get the data. It's usually a few weeks after things have happened. There's always a bit of a lag in a and then it takes time to actually react to that and get people to come in and take their booster shots and by that time you've lost valuable time which translates lives so because we needed is deserted important decision and had have implications. We've pulled together the top medical public health experts throughout the department of health and human services. Everyone from the fda commissioner dr. janet would cost dr. tony Dr francis collins to dr david kestler rachel levin at cdc director. Dr rachel show will end ski. Be myself and others and we looked at. The data discusses in great detail and came to the conclusion that we needed to be ahead of the curb and this was a way to do. It is offering booster shots to the general population and finally y twenty year olds versus the seventy year old or the person who's in the nursing home and here's why because when we look at the trend we saw the reduction in protection was across the population and we wanted to make sure that everybody was in fact protected in Enjoying right now the degree of protection that was extended If you will but we are actually prioritizing vulnerable. John this is something of people. Don't know because the time schedule which were doing this. Getting people vaccine under it. Madonna bursary turns out. That people acceded. I were the vulnerable long term care facility residents healthcare workers and seniors. They will be the first ones. We vaccinate once again. I know it's still very early. But have you seen any real world. Data perhaps out of israel that shows boosters do work yeah it's a good question we have seen actually some early data's in public that that has come out of israel showing in fact the boosters do seem to be having a effect on improving protection but look the truth is that we've got a dig into that data regrettable much more closely. We didn't make this decision based off of solely one single data set or offered israeli data or uk data. we made this data decision based on our composite. Look at all the data and it was what we signed back in the us data that we found particularly compelling in terms of the decline protection so on the other side of the spectrum. Some experts are pointing to data out of israel that immunity wayne's after five or six months and asking. Why are we waiting until eight months. Like just personally you. My parents are over sixty-five They got vaccinated in late february. Should they be worried about how protected they are against delta between now and when they can get their booster shot october will. It's a good question. John and my mother and my grandmother in the same boat is your parents. They got vaccinated a sometime in that timeframe. And here's what i would say. We know that you even when you hit the six month. Mark that your protection against severe disease hospitalization. That are high right so if you are vaccinated six months ago he should still feel good about the protection you have. That's why we're actually not right for many people today and get booster shots. But there is an increase in mild and moderate breakthrough infections. And so this. Where is where it comes down a bit to people's risk tolerance in their preference. You know when i you know. I talked to my parents. I you know. I make sure even though they're fully vaccinated because they live with kids who are unvaccinated at because they tend to be very a you know sensitive risk-averse about you know bad health outcomes. They go out and they wear a mask but they're in public indoor spaces you know. They take that extra layer precaution. And that's the right thing to do so it's a little bit you know. Getting do differ from person to person but the good thing is six months out so that i protection against the worst coded. So i'm one of the thirteen million americans who received the j vaccine And i've been given a lot of conflicting advice on whether i should try to get myself a booster now on one hand. I'm a bit of a rule follower. So i don't want to lie or cut line to get the shot i know it's not approved yet But i want even less to get infected and potentially transmit the virus to my unvaccinated one-year-old. Like should i be worried about how protected i am right now. By the john jay vaccine well have gone to a question. And you're certainly not alone at fourteen million. People in the united states who received change vaccine in in bear held their wellbeing their extended protection is just as important as anybody who received advisor Look what we do know is when you look at the the data protection people got from the worst if kobe was also high.

"Have all the fun. The same folks who fully embrace donald trump's deal with the taliban withdrawal. Us troops now seeing opportunity to inflict political damage on joe biden in a way they haven't been able to yet so some of them are criticizing the execution of the withdrawal like democrats and journalists. Have the neo. Cons and the hawks are doing their. You know we should have stayed forever thing but the maga- wing of the party which is basically. The whole party has decided to zero in on the refugee issue hoping to open a new front in the culture wars by scaring people into believing that brown foreigners are coming to terrorize their communities. And of course donald trump himself hasn't been able to shut up about this over the last few days. Let's take a listen all of the years. Our country has ever been so humiliated. I don't know. Would you call it a military defeat or a psychological defeat. There's never been anything like what's happened here. We will see. Many refugees ref ghanistan resettled in our country. And coming months. Probably in your neighborhood and over the next decade that number may swell to the millions. So i we invade and then we're invaded. It is extraordinarily expensive to resettle a refugee in the united states. They get free. Healthcare they get free education. They get free housing. They get free food. They get cash welfare. Thanks to find. They can tell more about ghanistan than they did before nine. Eleven our borders wider open now than it was before nine eleven. It's president refuses to do anything about it isn't really our responsibility to welcome thousands of potentially unvetted refugees from afghanistan. So there you have it. Let's start with trump Feel about donald trump being out there on the attack. Donald trump who invited the taliban to camp david cut a deal without the afghan government. to withdraw. Us troops also deal that freed a bunch of taliban prisoners. One of whom is now president. Novak ghanistan And then put out statements after he left office. And when joe biden was president criticizing biden for not withdrawing troops even earlier than he did. That's the trump who's out there. Criticizing joe biden. Now he also in that interview just decided to pat the talent on the back for being good fighters. Could you imagine what fox news would do of. Joe biden it done that mean. It's weird down model of consistency. It's strange that he is not being consistent here. But i think that there is a this was a really interesting part of the tummy beck official pad save the world that i think democrats by administration should talk about more which is how donald trump's mishandling of this tied their hands and a lot of ways it was terrible deal it was he cut out. The afghan government sent the contractors. Home released a bunch of taliban prisoners and biden was forced with. This was always going to be shitty choice. Always gonna be a tough choice but biden ability to his hands. Were tied by this and a lot of ways. And i think there are. That is a story that has not been told enough in our overly simplistic media narrative of this And i think it also helps politically to remind. Democrats of the rule. Trump played in creating the situation. Will i think and jim newell has a great piece in slate about this. Which is a lot of these trumpy. Republicans including trump himself because they were all pro withdrawal and in fact criticizing joe biden for not withdrawing fast enough. They want to jump in on this. Joe biden pylon. That's happening in the press and even among some democrats But they know that they were. The joe biden. Basically did something that they wanted him to do which was to withdraw completely from afghanistan so their only option is here to start a culture war over refugees Which is what they do best You should definitely read this. Jim newell piece in slate but he talked about. Stephen miller kicked us off with a few tweets and he said miller who's morning routine sipping coffee and skinning the united states overnight birth certificates to check. How well the caucasians kept up. Just a great way to describe stephen miller. That's neither here nor there But i do think it's something to watch and it's also because look. There is reporting that the reason that the bite administration was so slow to process a lot of these special immigrant. Visa applications is that they were concerned about the domestic political backlash over bringing afghan refugees to the united states. Which i really hope isn't true. Because that i think deserve a lot of criticism To be worried about that kind of The political situation there And you know one administration official told politico it's like they want the credit from liberals for ending the trump cruelty to immigrants and refugees. But they also don't want the political backlash that comes from actual refugees arriving in america in any sort of large numbers now again. The by demonstration is currently trying to bring afghan refugees to the united states. So they are doing the right thing now but i do wonder how do you think about how do you think about the politics of the refugee issue and how this plays out in general as we sit here today. The public broadly and in a bipartisan. Fashion supports increasing the number of special immigrant visas for our afghan allies. But that is one moment in time and we should recognize that there is nothing. Republicans want more than an opportunity to emerge fears about immigration with fears about terrorism. 'cause you look back to two thousand sixteen we always. It's always like who's going to pay for the wall mexico but really. What was.

"This virus replicates that we shouldn't be able to drug the machinery that it uses to spread this three drugs in advanced development right now one's by pfizer. That's in face to face to studies another one by merck they in license it from a company called ridgeback. That's been a good drug-fighting company those are the two that have furthest along. They both looked promising in early. Stage clinical trials in pivotal trials. Right now there's a third drug by roche that's in development that's a little bit further behind. There's a possibility that we could have a drug available. This winter from one of these clinical trials. I think the clinical trials themselves are gonna be challenging to run. Because you're going to be looking to run. Trials either demonstrate that the drugs reduce the symptoms of covert or reduced progression to severe disease or they reduce the likelihood of coming coming down with covert. If you're exposed to it when you're trying to run those trials against the backdrop of a largely vaccine population to try to look at those outcomes. You need to enroll a pretty big cohort people and probably need to follow them for an extended period of time particularly. If you're looking to demonstrate the drugs reduced the progression to severe disease because the reality is only a very small percentage of people with covert progress severe disease and then scott..

"Is squawk pod from cnbc today. We're focused on reopening reconnection. And frankly fear andrew ross sorkin melissa lee and scott wapner got into the worries about the delta variant and the pandemics seemingly endless time line. Here's melissa base. Because the latest company to delay its plan to return. Us employees to their offices in initially planned to bring back workers in october with strict vaccination and mass requirements. But now it is pushing back that plan until january of next year amazon announced a similar plan for corporate employees last week. They're more and more our own company. Nbc universal also postponed Back to the office plans to october. So what a huge impact on so many parts of the cities that we don't even think about whether it's the transportation catering companies there's all sorts of catering companies that that typically you know Cater like Caffeine corp cafeterias and things like that that business goes away. I mean there's lots of people who get impacted by this even beyond just whether people are going into the office or not. I was talking to my real estate broker who operates in new york city and he was saying that the rental market was picking up so rapidly that there are bidding words for for rents but with the postponement with back to work. You gotta wonder if that's also going to slow down so there's a whole other there's a whole ecosystem surrounding the office and what it means to go back to the office. We shutdown opportunities remember. There was a run if you will on properties outside of big cities. I was thinking of now like right. Now the hamptons where people renting for the there was a whole group of people just renting for. Yeah now. they're probably going to extend that or buying right. And that prices will remain. Although yesterday said that housing prices were moderating touch right in some of those communities. But i don't know it could reverse just as easily are thinking it gets extended and places like that right to your point that people are already out there and you're planning on coming back because you had to be in the office. Why wouldn't you extend your your rent or your lease if you could. If some we're going to be different. I think this year schools a lot of this country right people were renting or moving to other places are remote to remote and they thought they could. They could make it work. I think i hope for the sake of kids. Yes i hope we're wrong. I hope they were very wrong. People able to at least get their kids back school. Therefore they're back to maybe where they least originally whipped. We'll see that's the most important point that you make though about school. We can only hope today. Remember defined as Unnecessary. A flagrant penalties to is defined as unnecessary and excessive. Now we usually talk wind up an impact, but this is different. This is about protecting the shooter. Well, he is making a basketball play to defend issue eater. But again, you it ends up in a play. That to me is dangerous because the legs of Chris Paul get taken out from underneath them. I'm going to predict a flagrant penalties one on this. I think so, too. And I think that would be appropriate right? And this game five but put Chris Paul when he had the court quotes. Like jeff would. I saw him very very early on. I went to go see him up. In san francisco saw him fairly narrowly yonder. He stood about should okay. I'm no. I went to serve book. Yeah i went to see him in. San francisco record is half hour. Hbo special or something like that. And he saw me in the crowd and like thanked me and ever and ever since then he would like ask me on every show he did. He put me in curb your enthusiasm. I didn't audition or anything. He just gave me apart cop. I was a cop. Yes in the palace. Deneen chicken episode. But yeah i would say. I would say for him he he. He would do that. He put me on like shows with robin williams and stuff like that and like he was he was always very generous with. Yeah like robin williams is another example. Right there.

"Back we're back. I'm paul i'm scott. We'd to introduce ourselves again. People who are true i. Let's see what every five minutes people. What did you do this weekend. Paul well i'll tell you and i'll tell you true. Tell tell it to me good. I want this story to be good. Make it good. We have A bunch of friends who live in our neighborhood and we're on a thread and it's pretty active and per day. Oh my god. I'm going to say two to three other would not counting the tap backs action be counted as tax by the notion. Be pushing me but you when you get to your phone and there's like sometimes with our exchange there are over one hundred and says you have one hundred and three new messages and fifty. Eight of them are thumbs up. I think it should be origin. Do like no gives you the red circle with a number for the amount of actual messages and then the purple circle with a heart in it. For the amount of tabak's what's in the circle. I guess the number numbers why is why is there. A circle yellow circle should be like the messages and then says like you have twenty messages and you have fifteen tampax right. I think there should also be a yellow circle. That will let you know how many of them are worth your time. Yeah and that should be about every should be some sort of filter where asks questions about what you find. How are you how. Harry is your chance too by the way we should put out a poll about that hotel. Harry's okay you could either vote health all you or your chest. I'll put that up so once we were all talking about getting vaccinated and tracking our progress. I yeah we were trying to other hurting i really. Oh it's already available track. I got i realized like god. if we're all vaccinated than we can hang out together indoors. Yeah and i made an executive decision without checking with janey and said. We're going to have a party the earliest she felt. Great about it I'm assuming we're we're going to You know let's we figure out when everyone is completely in the clear and then like as soon as we can after that date. Let's all get together and have a party at our house. And so one of the one of the participants in the thread made a chart of when everyone was because we talked about our schedules when everyone was getting vaccinated. I o second dose and when they were fully in the clear though second dose third dose sponge that's right and how many doses are. You going to get guys. I'm gonna i'm gonna keep going until they told me to stop. I wanna get. I wanna do an around the world and get all the different vaccines yup. I want to go to india next. I was thinking like walgreens. Cvs rite aid. I see how they're different so we just had it on saturday and it was. We were all like giddy. Yeah to be hanging out together like everyone was at a at a level that never stopped throughout the entire evening and it was really fun and it. I made me so happy. Like i forgot that that feeling of hosting a party i hadn't we hadn't had people over in such a long time and i was in the kitchen like getting something to that. Forty was she wasn't there she was only. It was couples. Oh she's such an old maid. You'll die krone him. So i was in the kitchen getting stuff to put out and i just looked over because we have like an open plan you can see the living room from the kitchen and i just looked inside. Everybody's sitting around and talking and it made me so happy. I was so happy it was really i. i could have lived in that feeling forever. it was fantastic. I have not had that experience yet. However my friends did go to a wedding last week. On that was had been pushed and rescheduled throughout the pandemic and now enough people are vaccinated. So everyone who there was vaccinated and grams wedding. It was and it was psych. I i haven't seen it You don't have to say. I mean i don't know if you know this person. Might she married this guy. Been jennifer low. Ben niffer lo jennifer lopez. Jennifer pets as. She wanted to be fun. Is there a pez dispenser of one of the only below. We've had her name. She she deserves like. Can you think of another celebrity with peasant there now. George logo shirt season but someone with not named lopez with peasant their food. That's a tall order. My friend and my friend said that it was just like really overwhelming. Like i i. She didn't wanna go out of her hotel. Room was kind of like everyone's pool. It's kind of a thing. And then she went out and then everyone just got trashed and have the. I'll bet i think yeah i. We went through a lot of booze. Like the what. I put the recycling up next the it was a symphony of clinks. Yeah the people people are always like. Oh it's gonna take me so long to figure out how to talk to people again or whatever it's like two minutes and no. I know that's not my concern. My concern is not social awkwardness. Like how am. I going to have a conversation. It's more like the getting over the fear that being close to someone is bad. Like i feel like that's the part that's hard for me for forget like standing next to seven one being not being worried at all. Seems we were not being obsessive about like you know. I'm washing my hands. And after i touched my mail. Yeah you're but we call my my mail even doing squats so ripped it. Let's like my ass jacked spol- celtics will caked case. I haven't heard that one got a couple of donuts back there. That's how many learn. How many times have you ever looked at a button. Nice but too much kidney butts. Where did you say to yourself to yourself in your head. You're like i say. I definitely have just some stranger. What about new friend. See a great asked. You're gonna notice it. I mean. I've noticed that to someone. But i've said about someone. Okay i've said it about people. I think Butts can be great. You know. I think if someone has a great but you should say to their face. I'm sure anyone will be happy to hear it say to there. But they're doing all the work. Maybe just leave now. Nice job bend over versus burt. My mouth i beat you know what somebody 'cause i. My mom just started listening to three. So i got an iphone so it's kind of changed the game with how easy it is to access. All these things became easy to find it. So what was she. Rock before Samsung galaxy i had a lot of android users in my family. And there's there's slowly turning. I think i only have one green text left. Some people get very mad when you talk about.

"All wac. Let's make us. That isn't award. Yes rips off the whatever. It's average off the oscar areas. Basically an oscar. that's holding a microphone over instead of a sword. Yeah it's like it's like a the midpoint between an oscar it is. It's kind of a swirly oskar it's better than the what was like a stream e or a webby or something like that it was basically just like swirling. I don't know a lot of words. A war doubt you through his steadily. This award goes in the trash. It was it felt like it was tinfoil brab together. Why didn't you put it in lieu of that so we had. We had a comedy bang. Bang sketch about someone who used his awards as doorstops. But i can't remember what it is. It was such a funny idea though but only specific to people who knew that that cliche of actors using supposedly using their or line is doing anything funny with it. I think everyone's got it somewhere nice. And that's people put in the bathroom or as doorstop or whatever really. Yeah i do because getting so gross about it being here e sees what vehicle bloom toilet goods be about that is not treating it with that reverence when they win the award. Know what i'm saying. This is going right in my toilet going up my ass. It's still doing that by. It's still giving it reverence by making it a joke in the house. Yes exactly then everyone sees it and then it's like a thing and then you turn need houses to be funny. But they're acting like people inside. The house is can be funny if they want to try and houses hilarious and then the people are just normal. The people inside want to try. What is the funniest house in the house. And it says he was houses of course. Funny winchester the peewee house is being fixed up a little bit and then their keeping the integrity noticed. I drove past revisit. A real house. Yeah in pasadena but inside. It's not like no. I'm sure rube goldberg. Like i went to see at one point like a couple years ago and it was kind of messed up in the front and the stairs were like kinda cracked. And you know it wasn't you couldn't really safely and now it looks like it. Looks a little also still looks like the same color. Also google it okay. How.

I don't care either. Hi paul out there okay. I'm like well you need to update your fucking zoom. Guess what. I don't care i gotta tell you guys a story because last night i attended as its topics and i attended a prestigious award show via zoom and i had a ball so i went to m. b.'s. Last night you went to the ball. I went to the snowball. Microphone or there. Oh podcast yeah podcasts. Inside but just inside. I attended the ambos to represent three. Because we were nominated for. Best comedy podcasts. Everyone knows and i think the nor i were day. Would they do it. He both cy was day. You both did say you weren't gonna do it. I said i'll do it. I'll do it and why why would you do it. And we wouldn't. Because i thought i'll just be sitting around and i don't care right. Yeah so and i felt at all. Do neither of those things. I won't be around. And i will care care a lot. Yeah so i had to do an attack. Check like a couple of weeks ago for this where i before. That's a long long time between tech. At least two weeks so much can happen. I had to hung. I know it's true. And i had to download this background. They made for me which had like a yellow sort of background than like the three logo and ahead to put that as my background but my check was under three minutes. I had it all to go very bad. I'm very professional. He was the fastest Turkey ever had then. Is that like sex. Where it's a bad thing though. Yeah he was like even come for him. It's like i want this to go on read. It was a rough. They probably do. I mean they're getting paid by the hour. You would assume. I don't know i really don't think they get paid by the check. One two three four hundreds of people there tech checking. Because when i logged into this award show i mean the number of podcast. They were referenced. I never heard of any of them in the hundreds of podcasts. There's so many In the awards alone obviously there's thousands and thousands. So i i log into this zim so first of all. They wanted me to dress up. They did tell me to dress up. As if i was going to an award show. I did not do that. I didn't brush my hair. And i was wearing whatever i had already okay. It was nice. I i saw the photo. Yeah i saw. The photo was like neck up. Yeah you can barely see me and and when you actually when we get to the part where you actually see. How much is actually onscreen for this thing. If i had put on makeup for this i would have. I would have to pay it. Just it would be a waste of time so well let me say. Also one of i watched before our category came up. I watched i started like a half hour before. So i call it a half hour of it. There a guy that was one of the governors of the ambiance that came out in like a short sleeve shirt. Why wanted people in their homes to fuck it. Put auto show do have a caller or was it. A shirt collar podcast. One of the best things about it is. You don't have to look good to y'all yes so a great. Thank you so even with yours. You guys are discussed. This natural.

"At the left point. Still looking at 1st 1st NHL goal, Stillman put the fuck down the boards the camp about 10 ft. Inside the line near the point. Oblique scripts and Frieda Connolly in the slot. He tried to unload a shot. It was black to the left wing corner. Connelly got it back to arugula and he'll fire from the slot and that may have hit the mask of morass IQ. Arugula again along the right boards runs into a check from Hamilton. But put the puck down the boards in behind the hurricane. That awake goes to the left wing corner to Connelly. Camp Taku, Billy confronted shoots on Miranda. Brilliant saving the butterfly in a follow up shot by Kubelik and again morass IQ makes the save this time with the glove. Great sequence of saves there for Peter Morass IQ, denying his countrymen Dominic Jubilee. Why Cooper gets him. Real good looks. The best one was the beginning of this whole sequence, and he fanned on that opportunity, but I think he probably had three shots. Maybe for this little sequence and all good opportunities more as it has had a tremendous season for the Hurricanes when he has been healthy. Got three shadows on the season and only 10 games. I think it is, and that's more than 11 teams combined. All season long. Murphy fired a shot from the right point. It was blocked in front of the net look like a different Tessie Puckett's fun down. I said to the Hawks known We're gonna get icing here to Carolina. Think that Rod Brind'Amour is probably trying to get his top goaltender some game. Experience here in the last couple games before heading into the postseason, get him into some type of a rhythm before the playoffs. I gotta think he's gonna be the guy. You've got Alex the delicate You have been pretty good this year, and James Reimer, the quintessential backup. He's been pretty solid, but I agree with you. If you're as it gets onto his game, the Kanes could go far. Sanest Rosa breaking into the hurricane zone on the left wing. Turning back toward the high slot. He lets a shot go that is blocked wide. Was parked in the near boards geeky, trying to clear it out in a stroller picks it off wheels.

"Think red at 8 15. Rob would fork and he's married to a supermodel. Yeah, that Tom Brady guys having himself a year. Let's talk about who he might be playing in two weeks. Right now, the kid's city chiefs in front of the Buffalo Bills, 21 to 12. As they have 11 seconds left here before halftime. Kansas City had scored 21 unanswered points. But just moments ago the bills with a field goal to get it back down to a nine point deficit. Now the winner of this game goes on to Super Bowl 55 to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are the first team to play a Super Bowl on their home field after a 31 26 victory over the Packers in Green Bay. But everybody's talking about. Though the Packers down eight points with just over two minutes ago, coach Matt Leflore opted to settle for a field goal on 1/4 and goal from the eight He had this as his explanation for that questionable decision. Yeah, anytime it doesn't work out. You always regret it right? It was just the circumstances of having three shots and coming away with no yards and knowing that you not only need the touchdown, but you need the two point so The way I was looking at. It was we essentially had four time outs with the two minute warning and I thought we were gonna have a stop there at the end, but you know, they got cold for for the P I and that didn't work out. So I think any time something doesn't work out, Do you regret it? Sure, but we're always going to be processed driven here and the way our defense is playing felt like it was the right decision to do. Yeah, but you have Aaron Rodgers. Man. That's your quarterback will give it up for Tom Brady. Though he's the first player to play in 10 Super Bowls. He's only the third quarterback to play in an NFL championship game in three different decades. Joining guys that Del I'm sure has heard of Norm Van Brocklin and Johnny United with the high school with him. Yeah, it's been a while since that's happened. The was speaking of things that haven't happened in a long time. The Wizards on the court tonight after a nearly two week absence, and they're playing the Spurs, a team that they have not beaten in San Antonio since 1999. Fine in the early going. The Wiz in front 10 to 7. Russell Westbrook back in the lineup for the Wizards. He already has a basket, some breaking nationals news lefty closer Brad Hand, reportedly agreeing to a one year $10.5 million deal to solidify the Nets bullpen. He led the majors with 16 saves in the truncated 2020 season and the capital's fall to the Buffalo Bruins, 43 and shootouts. But on the plus side, the caps have picked up a point in the standings in every game this season. Up, which worked?
